"Excellent customer service."
DanCope1982, 10 Novembre 2023

Nice hotel with comfortable beds. The staff here can't do enough for you and go above and beyond what is expected. The only down side being the loud music coming from the leisure centre next door, but it didn't go into the night and never disturbed my sleep. Would definitely stay here again. Don't use the local taxis if you value your life, ours did 60 in a 30 and didn't care for indication. Walked into town from that moment onwards.

"Great friendly staff and lovely hotel"
Maria D, 25 Octobre 2023

Wanted to book for 7 nights but could only get 4, when we arrived we asked if there was any chance of extending our stay, Serena, at reception worked her magic and managed to get us the remaining 3 nights but we had to change rooms………to our shock we were moved to the bridal suite…….all we can say is WOW WOW WOW!, and THANK YOUUUUU to Serena, Angela and the rest of the team.

"Return visit to Cassino"
SeeingBeauty, 15 Septembre 2023

We have stayed at this property on many occasions to visit family near by. The hotel is well managed, the restaurant is excellent, and the service attentive and welcoming. There is a comfortable outdoor seating area to relax or enjoy a drink at any time of the day. The restaurant has daily specials for a pre fixe price. We will definitely return.

"It was fine. Worth a repeat stay if ever in Cassino again."
Alan P, 21 Mai 2023

We stayed here for six nights and it was enjoyable. Rooms are good. Food was enjoyable though some members of our party thought not. Serving red wine very chilled is not a good idea, it is a bad mistake. Manuel the waiter is excellent and deserves a gold star. Check-out was a bit chaotic as they lost track of extras to be paid on departure. This caused delay and better organisation is needed.

"Ok"
andydavis12016, 29 Septembre 2022

Ok hotel but staff rude and unhelpful especially Domenco Meals were all booked but arrived at different times and some had to wait 30 mins Wake up call booked for our group but they didn't bother Hotel clean

"Battlefield Study to Monte Cassino"
Japster1965, 27 Mars 2022

I recently led a battlefield study to Monte Cassino for 25 people and used the Hotel Rocca as a base and I`m glad I did! Angela and her team were on hand at all hours to make sure we were looked after to the highest standard, I felt that they couldn`t do enough for us. Knowledgeable and extremely helpful, Hotel Rocca will be the first port of call when I return to the region. Rooms are modern and decently specified, the a la carte menu in the restaurant is very good value and tasty.

"Pleasant"
letsgotochina, 23 Septembre 2021

Staff was very helpful, though not everyone spoke English. The room was clean and the hotel restaurants were good. The eggs at breakfast were fully cooked, unlike previous experiences in Italy where the eggs were served very runny (undercooked). It was a great deal for the price.

"Clean but not friendly"
ive s, 14 Septembre 2020

We arrived on a hot day. The receptionist was correct but not friendly. The parking spot for electric cars was taken by the owner. The room was clean but not cosy. We needed the car to go to the city because the hotel was located outside the city center.

"Enjoyable stay!"
Mussels15, 07 Mars 2020

The hotel is very clean and the service is excellent! The receptionists,Elsa and Angela were courteous and helpful, and Vincenzo the evening waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine and food menu. The house keeping is excellent, and the room was pristine on our return each evening!

"hotel Rocca Cassino"
Cosmopolitan480454, 01 Octobre 2019

This hotel was excellent, clean, comfortable with good and helpful staff. Close driving distance to city center. Great value for the money paid. Going back in a couple of years and will be staying there again. The other hotels I stayed in on this 2 week trip should be only half as good as this one.

"Over the top-Best experience so far"
Mark L, 16 Juin 2019

This is our first trip to Italy. So after our one night stay in Rome we rented a car and made our way to Savignano Irpino, the birthplace of my Grandparents. We were just looking for a small town to spend the night on the way. We stumbled on to this incredible place purely by accident. The room was modern and very clean. Soon after we settled in we decided to stay 3 nights due to the incredible service from Ciociaria and Angela who recommended three of the most incredible experiences of our lives. St Benedict Abby at Monte Cassino, The Feast of St Antonio in Labriola Plaza (our name by the way) and the Winery called La Ferriera. You must come and ask for the ladies I mentioned. For breakfast OMG what a feast and included with the room. You will be greeted by the sweetest woman in the world who seems to know one word "Prego" and you will get service above service. Also the Dinner restaurant has a great menu selection as well.

"Exemplary service - staff couldn't do enough!"
shoesgloriosshoes, 08 Juin 2019

We stayed one night on our drive back to the UK. Front of house staff very friendly and helped me translate in a phone call to my Italian relative who doesn't speak English. Large rooms and bathroom, comfortable beds and air co. Great selection at breakfast with smiling, helpful staff. Dinner in restaurant was good too. Would stay here again. Great value for money.

"6 night stay in may on a leger battlefield tour of monte cassino"
skimpys, 26 Mai 2019

good check in by front of house team. clean quiet room with a very good power shower.large bottle of peroni and a large magners was 10 euros but just across the road from the hotel at the garage is a cracking little bar that is very cheap . large peroni 2euros, large home made pizzas were 5 or 6 euros. large seating area inside at the back. outside seating as well . nice people that run it.breakfast in the hotel was the usual continetal but most mornings the scrambled egg was cold. evening 3 course meal included in our package was half decent, if u had a pasta starter then they always came round with second helping. litre of house white wine was 10 euros.all the waiting staff were as miserable as sin but the reception staff were bob on. great location to visit monte cassino

"Nice room poor execution"
L5841BRpauld, 25 Mai 2019

We checked in as part of a tour. May 25 the outside temp in the teens and the heating system had been shut off for the season as well as the air circulation fan off as well. Our room fridge inoperable which wasted some food we bought. In mid shower all soaped up the water went off completely for about 15 minutes with no warning or apology. Never happened to us before and we have travelled extensively around the world This morning group breakfast scheduled for 6:30 only to be told when arrived it was at 7:00. They did let us in but scrambled eggs stone cold so looked like they were they from yesterday Room was nice and clean but a really poor execution- no heat - no water so I would try somewhere else in this area

"Such a delight after a long road trip "
250gerryf, 10 Avril 2019

We were driving from Taormina & got through Naples and were exhausted AND hungry. Found the BW Hotel Rocca on TripAdvisor...read the reviews and we decided to stop to see if they had availability. Chiara at the Front Desk warmly greeted us - said they did have a room, so we checked in. She told us about their restaurant, showed us their daily menu & said they also had an à la carte menu & wine was included. Since the restaurant didn't open till 7:00pm, we unpacked & went down & had some wine in their bar. Very good house wine! We then went to dinner - lovely dining room & Vincenzo was our host and server. They have an outstanding à la carte menu - I decided ipon the Salmon with Pink Peppercorn Sauce and mixed salad & my husband ordered the Fusilli with Vodka Sauce. He also served is Bruschetta with fresh tomatoes & carpaccio for an appetizer + bread - delicious! Both of our entrees were PERFECT & my husband said the Vodka Sauce was some of the best he has ever had. We also had cheesecake - phenomenal and I had some vanilla gelato. Truly, we did not expect this type of restaurant and meal in a hotel - BUT then the Hotel was great. Our room was perfectly furnished & good sized + had a large bath & great walk-in shower. The room & bath were immaculately clean. So, if you find yourself near Cassino & want a great place to spend the night, enjoy a fabulous dinner - and experience warm & accommodating service, stay at this hotel!

"I will be back"
Camper34651470653, 03 Mars 2019

Very good hotel and staff, good breakfast, good room, good location, I will come back to this hotel. I love it! The service is very good, good location, if you are interested in World War 2 a good spot

"Superb Hotel"
winston52, 28 Décembre 2018

This is a very clean and comfortable hotel. The staff at the desk are very accommodating and helpful. There is plenty of parking on this well lit property. Breakfast can be purchased for a nominal fee and is well worth it. The variety if food is exceptional and abundant. The staff attentive. We Highly recommend this hotel.

"Outdated but great service & restaurant "
Heli S, 14 Octobre 2018

The hotel is in great location in Cassino. Few minutes from the highway. The restaurant is great and not expensive. The rooms need to get renovated. The front desk was kind and helpful. After we checked out we went to visit Monte Cassino. It was anazing. The mountain air is so refreshing!! We also visited the very impressive memorial for WWII soldiers.

"Battlefield Tour"
Fred G, 06 Octobre 2018

Once again, yet another first rate stay at the Hotel Rocca. All the staff particularly Angela & Igor on reception are extremely welcoming and helpful. Both speak very good English, and are extremely professional. Stayed here with another group, whilst conducting a Battlefield Tour, ideal location for all sites around the Cassino area. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, some of which have a fantastic view looking up to the Monastery on Monte Cassino. Plenty of choice at Breakfast. The bar & lounge area is also spacious, allowing for plenty of socialising on an evening. Groups enjoy staying at this Hotel.

"Great hotel for groups with amazing customer service!"
Katie M, 02 Octobre 2018

We used Hotel Rocca for our destination wedding and couldn't be happier! We reserved several rooms for people of all ages (families, young couples, groomsmen) and everyone at the hotel was so accommodating. We also stayed there in their suite for our wedding night. Angela and staff were amazing and we didn't run in to any issues! They made everything stress fee, had no complaints about our wedding party guests, and even left us a bottle of champagne in our room. Thanks again for such a great experience!

"Family cacation"
jaxx1019, 12 Août 2018

Stayed there for 4 night in early August Was an enjoyable stay with comfortable accommodations and great service. Water park was a plus for the young kids and breakfast in the morning was exquisite with great service. The front desk clerks were very nice and exceeded our expectations. Rooms were small but clean And bar downstairs was awesome for espressos and our nightly beverages! Would return in a heartbeat.

"Great location & facility"
SQuaxz, 12 Août 2018

Ideal location for a family. Good facilities. Great breakfast & dinner in restaurant. Staff exceptional in service. Location next to the water park makes it easy to amuse the family and provides some physical entertainment. Easy parking. Not quiet walking distance from the centre of Cassino, but still worth a visit. Recommended

"Are looking for a Family Hotel in Cassino ?"
Anthony C, 22 Juillet 2018

If you are looking for a place for your family to stay in Cassino we would recommend the Best Western Hotel Rocca. Our Family of 4 visited in July - and had a Good Clean Room with Good A/C! A must in Italy during the Summer ! Tip: We had a Great Family Dinner 4 course meal at the Restaurant in the Hotel.

"Nice clean and comfortable hotel"
clifford211243, 04 Juillet 2018

We had 11 night stay as we wanted to see more of Italy. All the staff were very helpful and friendly especially Angela, she can organize interesting trips for you if like us unsure of the best places to visit. The rooms are very comfortable and good food. It was lovely having the water park opposite. Our main visit was to see the commonwealth war graves and the monastery which is brilliant as were our other trips out like the tour of the battle fields. The holiday was just brilliant.

"Pleasant hotel on the outskirts of Cassino"
c n, 03 Juillet 2018

Stayed here for 2 nights in June. Food is good although only one coffee machine in a very busy breakfast was a barrier to enjoyment. Staff very pleasant. Draught beer is better value than bottles. Swimming pool next door and available at certain times of the day. Temperature around 30 each day which was too hot for us. Free taxi service will meet you at the hotel and from rome the train fare was only 8 euros each way.

"Nice hotel.."
pleccus, 27 Juin 2018

Nice hotel very clean and modern, staff helpful and food was great also bar prices good...my only complaint was an item from my bathroom went missing probably binned by accident I told reception and after a little persistance they gave me a discount so no dramas in the end, would recommend...

"Great Hotel with friendly Staff "

Bathroom was large and the shower was massive in my room. Tea and coffee making facilities and a large TV. Nice view of the Abbey of Monte Cassino out of the window too! Breakfast was good nice select of cereals bread and fruit. All the staff were really friendly and could not do enough for you. Thanks for a great stay would definitely stay here again If I came back to Cassino!

"Hotel Rocca"
1-lisabeth, 21 Mai 2018

It is a bit out of town but the hotel shuttles guests to & from the station. Plenty of parking on-site. Excellent, pleasant & helpful staff. Breakfast is very good. We had a good-sized, well-equipped room. We enjoyed sitting with friends out on the terrace in the evenings.

"No worry lodging"
MattVienna_VA, 17 Avril 2018

Stayed here in 2015 and it was great. Since then, property has been remodeled for the better. Room and amenities were great. Very clean throughout and slippers in room were a move touch. Breakfast was ample and Staff was engaging.

"Another First Class Stay"
Fred G, 13 Avril 2018

Whenever I visit Cassino, I always choose to stay at the Hotel Rocca, especially if I guide groups around the battlefield sites of Cassino. The rooms are large & clean. The staff are extremely polite & professional, especially Angela who speaks exceptionally good English. There is also a very good restaurant, which is used by the locals, so always a good sign that the food is good. I highly recommend staying here & look forward to my next visit.

"Convenient location"
Lionel L, 06 Décembre 2017

The hotel is conveniently located to visit all attractions in Cassino if you are driving. Comfortable and spacious room with excellent and helpful staff. Ample parking available, and good location if you wake up early for a morning walk

"Super Stay! Great hotel"
gary_j_phillips, 25 Novembre 2017

My wife and I stayed at the Rocca for two nights but wished it was for longer! The staff were a credit to the hotel, especially Angela who helped us in every way she could. The room was beautifully set out, and we also had a room which gave us a great view of the monastery which we had previously requested. The free pick up and drop off service is another of the thoughtful services that the hotel provides. The restaurent is another great feature of the complete service the hotel gives its customers. One of the best hotels we've visited, thank you.

"TOP HOTEL IN CASSINO ITALY"
LynandAl, 03 Novembre 2017

Our stay at Hotel Rocca was only a short break but our memories of it well last for ever. The friendlyness and the Service by all of the staff was Exemplary. Angela went above and beyond her duties to ensure our stay was a memorable one. We are hopping to go back in the near future with Derek J Great little Hotel

"Great little Hotel"
Derek J, 28 Octobre 2017

We stayed at the Hotel Rocca for three nights last week (Oct 2017) and had chosen the hotel based on Tripadviser reviews. Even before we arrived, we were impressed with the level of service provided by the excellent staff, we had been e-mailing the hotel to arrange airport transfers, shuttle to the train station and general advice about the area. Angela was exceptional nothing was too much trouble and e-mails were answered quickly and in excellent English. On our arrival, the level of service continued, Angela was on duty and met us with such a warm and professional welcome. She was on hand throughout our stay as assisted us greatly with suggestions for local sights to see and tips on local transport. She is a great asset to the hotel and her assistance is very much appreciated. We decided to eat at the hotel restaurant each evening as the food was exceptional. The waiting staff were also excellent. An unexpected bonus was the view from the rear of the hotel looking out on Monte Cassio Abbey. A stunning sight. This hotel offers real value for money, and the service provided by the staff was faultness, you can't put a price on that. Highly recommended to anyone considering a stay in the Cassino area.

"Great Hotel, Friendly and Helpful!"
Anthony H, 25 Octobre 2017

We stayed for 1 night and booked via the web. Nice clean, quiet room, fantastic staff, very eager to please. Very convenient to all the Cassino sights. Available parking on sight. I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

"Hotel Rocca . Best Hotel in Cassino Italy"
Bruce M, 06 Octobre 2017

Cassino Italy is about 90 minutes from the Rome airport(Fiumicino). Cassino is a small city of about 70,000 people in south central Italy. It is by far the most superior as well as most reasonable hotel in the city. It has a restaurant, with a free breakfast. The rooms are spacious, but not luxurious. The staff all speak English. Monte Cassino is located here. Once you exit the A1 there are several hotels along the highway into the city proper. You can easily visualize Monte Cassino. However, you must enter the city to access the road to it. Hotel Rocca is northwest of the city but is convenient to the access road. More so than the aforementioned hotels. You are also about 90 minutes from the Naples area, Pompeii, and on to the Amalfi coast. Be advised that it is easily a 2 hour minimum drive from Serrento to Salerno along the coast. It is a breath taking drive. The shopping is wonderful. If you plan to shop, then plan to stay for a day or two. There is no train service to the Amalfi coast. You must drive or arrange a transfer.

"Very good stay"
Richard F, 08 Septembre 2017

A very well serviced hotel with good facilities and quality rooms. It was a little noisy in our room as there's a contractor's yard next door that was noisy with skips moving around but other than that it was very good and I'd certainly stay here again when visiting the area.

"Great Hotel and Lovel Staff"
Signum123, 01 Septembre 2017

We stayed at the Hotel for 7 nights as a family of 4 and as part of a larger group that were in Cassino for a wedding. We had a 'family room' but it didn't seem too different to some of the other rooms our friends were in, the only real difference was that we had 2 pull out beds either side of the double. We did see some other family rooms that were slightly larger so it would have been better if we had been allocated with one of those rooms, especially as we were staying longer than most of the other guests. Even so, the room was adequate for 2 adults and small children and was cleaned to a high standard every day. It felt like the hotel had recently been redecorated as all areas were presented well with a fresh modern feel. We ate in the restaurant on 3 occasions - The 1st and last meal were simply amazing!!! The 2nd experience was not as good but this was because many of the guests booked at the same time and they were unfortunately in a position were a few staff members let them down last-minute due to illness - In this instance, it would have been a better option to turn people away but they did all they could to manage. Besides this, we would have happily eaten in the restaurant every evening as it was a lovely experience and is highly recommended (especially the fillet Steak!). The only other negative was that we booked through Expedia (the only company that provided the option for a family room at the time) and this did not include breakfast. We spoke with lots of other guests that had paid less per night for the same sized room and all of their bookings included breakfast. We decided to pay for the breakfast on certain days and they were excellent with a great selection of pastries, Eggs, Bacon and Pancakes. Like many other people have commented, our stay at the hotel would not have been as good without the pleasant staff that worked there. Everyone was friendly and did everything they could to make us feel welcome. I must provide a special mention to Angela who was excellent throughout our stay. She was always around to assist and was lovely with our 2 younger boys. We found Cassino didn't offer as many restaurants as we would have liked and it seemed very difficult to get taxis unless you sorted them through the hotel. Again, a special mention to the team who were excellent in doing all they could to ensure 60+ people were shipped around. The locals were also great with many providing lifts back to the hotel at no cost. The Water Park was great and our 3 and 5-year-old boys loved it. They have a great area for young children and plenty of space for them to run around. Overall, our stay was excellent and we would highly recommend it to others. Thanks again to Angela and the lovely team.

"Great 2 days. "
Scott R, 25 Août 2017

A cracking little hotel with the most friendliest and most helpful staff you will find. Traditional Italian restaurant that serve good food with local wine that will surely be enjoyed by all. A water park 100 meters away from the hotel and for 5 euros it's a steel. Thank you to all the staff for a great stay.

"Enjoyed our trip"
prvnipivni, 29 Juillet 2017

We stayed in a family room for three nights which was good. Excellent air con and decent shower after a long day's travelling or sightseeing was ideal. View of mountains. We had a slight hiccup getting picked up at the train station (with free Courtesy bus) but quickly sorted and a warm welcome. Return journey was fine. Breakfast good for €3. Bacon, eggs, meats, pastries. Boys liked pancake maker. The hotel is next door to the water park which we had fun. Hotel guests get 20% discount. We didn't eat at the hotel for dinner . It's about 20 minute walk into town and some bits don't have pavements. There is a nice Osteria opposite the Geocop supermarket.

"Fantastic"
Tigerlilly1967, 26 Juillet 2017

We really couldn't fault anything about this hotel or the staff. Angela in particular was amazing and couldn't do enough to help. The rooms are spacious, modern and spotless. Buffet breakfast has something for everyone. Having the aqua park next door is an added bonus for the kids (and adults). We will most definitely be back.

"June 2017 Trip"
Nadir_E, 27 Juin 2017

I stayed in this hotel as part of a multi-day tour of the Cassino battlefields with Mr. Frank de Planta of CassinoBattlefields.com, a former British military officer who is exceptionally well read on the Italian campaign in general and the battle for Cassino in particular. I found Angela and the staff extremely accommodating (answering my questions, helping me arrange for taxis, trains, and laundry), the rooms were modern and comfortable in every respect, including much appreciated air-conditioning. The en-suite bathroom was also modern and spacious. The hotel is a pleasant 20 minute walk from the center of Cassino, so it isn't central, but similarly it isn't noisy. It offers an expansive breakfast with the room and also has a set-menu dinner either multi-course or a-la-carte for a reasonable cost. There is a very spacious and comfortable lobby as well as a very nice (and large) patio out front where you can enjoy drinks from the bar with your friends or colleagues. The World War II displays in the lobby were tasteful and educational. WHEN (not if) I return to Cassino to continue my battlefield visits, I will do so with CassinoBattlefields.com and I will stay at the Best Western Hotel Rocca.

"A great stay For 6 nights"
Peter L, 24 Mai 2017

Spent 6 nights here , a really enjoyable stay ; very comfortable room , clean , plenty of hot water & a very powerful shower. I had a great view of the Cassino monastery my bedroom window. I enjoyed the food , always well cooked , great breakfast , the orange juice machine is a wondrous machine. The town centre isn't too far but there is no pavement , a taxi is probably the safest option. I found the staff helpful. Just over the road is a petrol station next to which is a little bar , the owner was very helpful & welcoming , highly recommended if you want a change from having a drink in the hotel. I would recommend the Campari & proseco delicious.

"Battlefield Group - Enjoyable Place to Stay"
Fred G, 19 Mai 2017

As a Battlefield Guide, who visits Cassino regularly with various groups, both military and civilian, I am always pleased to hear that I am staying at this particular hotel. The staff are extremely polite and helpful, especially Angela and Celine, both of whom speak exceptionally good English. This is particularly helpful, when confirming airport transfers, mini-bus shuttle services, museum bookings or anything else. On a previous occasion, whilst staying here, Angela was instrumental in getting very urgent medical attention which required an Air Ambulance. During this tour, once again, she organised a local Doctor to visit the hotel to attend to one of my passengers. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and alot of the rooms, have a lovely view up towards the monastery. The hotel itself is situated on the outskirts of Cassino, which is approximately 1 km to the centre. Ideally situated for visiting the various sites around Cassino, such as the Monastery, Hill 593 (Snakeshead Ridge) & the Polish Cemetery, British CWGC & German Cemetery's. So ideal for a base location for Battlefield Tours, plus packed meals can be arranged, currently costing €8 per person. In the morning, there is a good buffet breakfast provide. On an evening for large groups, a set menu is provided, but with a choice. For those with dietary requirements, it is best to speak to either Angela or Celine and inform them of what you can or cannot eat. We did have a couple of issues during my last group visit, which could have probably have been easily sorted if the hotel was made of the exact requirements. As I say, both Angela & Celine speak of excellent English, but translation of what is actually meant can be misunderstood. Plus most of the waiters do not speak English. I do not speak Italian, therefore do not expect everyone to speak English. Quite often, when abroad, I use Google Translator, which is great for conveying exactly what I am after. Overall, another nice stay at the Hotel Rocca, with a huge thank you to both Angela & Celine. Look forward to staying here again in the future.

"Cannot cater for dietary requirements very well."
javron53250, 13 Mai 2017

The hotel itself is very nice, rooms are to a nice standard, the staff are friendly, and in the main helpful. But for something as simple as finding a milk free dessert, just cannot get it. Even though stating I am milk free, I still got offered ice cream. They like most people need to understand the difference between milk free and lactose free. Have even been unable to get soya milk for my breakfast, unless I buy it myself. Do not get me wrong there is a good spread at breakfast, but I do like my cereal. For a 4 star hotel, this is not acceptable. Bet Prince Harry did not get this problem. But it has cost them 2 stars. Ps, I have not had a proper desert for 3 nights, except from the fruit bowl.

"Poor value"
HarfordBridgePark, 11 Mai 2017

The entrance looks lovely. There are only two tables available to sit outside and inside has limited public space for guests to relax together. Dining room is a large open space reminding me of school as did the way the food was served. The laminated flooring in some corridors has moved causing a trip hazard. Bathrooms are very basic. Also no swimming pool as advertised, very disappointing.

"Lovely Hotel"
Goshawks, 08 Mai 2017

Stayed here for a few days whilst on a work trip, staff were very friendly and the hotel was nice and clean and the beds were very comfy, food was very good and the wine went down a treat. My only complaint was the price of the beer in the bar €4,50 for a bottle where in town the same bottle cost €2,50. Would defiantly stay again

"Battlefield Study"
Paul C, 01 Avril 2017

For anyone planning a Battlefield Tour/Study of the Italian Campaign, I cannot recommend this hotel strongly enough. The rooms are furnished to a high standard, are spacious, clean, and many offer a wonderful view of Monte Cassino itself. The food in the restaurant for dinner is reasonably good and breakfast is plentiful, tasty, and exactly what's required to start off a day of exploring. The hotel offers free use of a well-equipped gym just at the rear of the hotel with a number of nice running routes close-by. However, the most wonderful thing about this hotel is the staff and, in particular, Angela on the front desk. Whilst absolutely everyone went out of their way to help the group of 28 I was leading, Angela was, by far, the biggest star! Not only is her English nearly perfect, but she also engaged with local companies to explain your needs (as English isn't spoken fluently throughout much of the area). Overall, I can't recommend this hotel (and Angela) enough!! Brilliant!!!

"Comfortable rooms"
Jim B, 02 Novembre 2016

Stayed here for 6 nights during a Leger Holidays WW2 battlefields tour. Nice spacious room with everything we needed. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We didn't have breakfasts but the evening food was good quality.

"Excellent hotel"
asb1952, 09 Octobre 2016

Very good and excellently managed hotel in small town. Lobby, room, restaurant are designed in simple modern style and maintained perfectly. Room amenities include tea corner. Some local products are exhibited in lobby. Historic artifacts related to battles of WWII at Monte Cassino are also exhibited. Customer friendly place. Somewhat weak wifi may be mentioned as cons.

"Friendly hotel with excellent customer service"
Ian M, 25 Septembre 2016

Angela at reception went out of her way to make us feel welcome - as did all the staff. Our room was comfortable and both the dinner and breakfast restaurants served good food. The parking was easy, with the hotel provided an ideal base to visit Cassino and the local battlefield sites during the Second World War.

"Great Hotel with exceptional customer service"
Richard B, 07 Septembre 2016

Angela at reception went above and beyond, helping us avoid toll road fines, arranged a special birthday dinner for our 7 year old and sorting transfers for us. A great hotel with great staff. Well located between Rome and Naples right next to a large waterpark ideal for children of all ages, a great base at reasonable cost for a wonderful week in a beautiful country.

"Really Good place to stay"
MartinDe, 11 Août 2016

I would rate this hotel as the best in the area. It's clean with spacious rooms, and a really good restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Also very convenient for visiting the Abbey and the Monte Cassino War Cemeteries. Staff are very welcoming, and parking is easy. I'd stay here again with no hesitation.

"Good hotel with very good service"

"Decent hotel"
MommyOnTour2015, 02 Août 2016

We stayed here with family including 2 young children (aged 3) for a few days break. The hotel is really nice, clean and comfortable. Their one let down though is front desk staff. Extremely cranky woman , never smiled, always acted as though we were an inconvenience to her...even during check out not a smile or ask to see if we enjoyed our stay...totally wrong position for this person. Hotel restaurant was nice, good food for starters and mains, desserts were a huge let down as they were just pre bought frozen things, nothing authentic like a panacotta or homemade tiramisu. Shame. Breakfast was lovely with lots to choose from and the pancake machine was a hit with the kids. The waitresses running breakfast were absolutely lovely, total opposite to the reception staff. The water park is brilliant, the kids loved it . But really would have expected a bigger discount as guests at the hotel so that was a pity as would have liked to return for a second day there but too expensive. Would only return here if we weren't bringing children.

A good best western hotel. Staff are helpful, esp Angela behind reception. Rooms are of a good standard with a clean and modern bathroom. Outside area is a plus for the hotel and there is a small bar facility with very reasonable prices for a hotel.

"Good place, clean and eco friendly. Very kind staff."
petra66, 28 Juin 2016

I spent two days in this structure, Rooms are very large, clean and well equipped with frigo, TV and kettel . Conditioner air is autonomous. I had a beautiful view on the Abbazia . Very calm and clean.. The staff is very kind, breakfast is Ok even if I did not like the hand made cake but fresh juice of orange and good cappuccino of the bar can balance some little inconvenients. The hotel uses dispenser for marmalade, yoghurt or shawor gel in the bathroom.

"Good value for money"
andrewwS9884QQ, 30 Mai 2016

At €108 (roughly £84) per night for a family room of 2 adults and 2 kids including breakfast, this hotel is good value for money. The room was spacious, clean & had air-con. HOWEVER, if the water park advertised is a key factor, please be aware it is only open mid-June to sometime in September. The food in the restaurant was very nice and each night there was a set-price menu for €18 for 3 courses. Choice of 3 starters, 3 main courses and whatever the dessert was for that day. Add €6 for a carafe of wine and €42 for 2 adults is great value - generous portions too!

"Battle Field Tour"
AlanHewitt23, 22 Mai 2016

Food was very tasty. The group are breakfast and evening meal in the hotel and received a packed lunch. The service at meal times was great. We stayed as part of a large group of 30 people. Front of House Staff very helpful. Rooms very clean. The gym is ok for a shot trip it has everything you need.

"Under the Gaze of Monte Cassino"
Shinyseven, 19 Mai 2016

This hotel has undergone a refurbishment and is an excellent hotel, some rooms with a view out to Castle Hill and the Monastery, good food from the restaurant menu and menu of the day. Very Pleasant and helpful staff and a good base for touring the Cassino Battlefields. Rooms comfortable with usual facilities. A great place to stay, 10 mins from Cassino station.

"Unbelievable"
JudithTel_aviv, 27 Avril 2016

We arrived at the hotel with an organized tourist group. In the entrance of the hotel there are lots of stairs, but the hotel made sure to transfer the luggage from the bus to the entrance (not clear whether it's wheelchair-friendly). Inside of the hotel there's one elevator, which is extremely slow. The hotel management placed someone to organize the entrance to the room based on floors - 4 people maximum each time. The room we got was pretty crowded, but not old-fashioned. When I came up to the window I saw that it's 30 cm above the ground and leads to a wide hallway, in addition to being placed around the loud central air conditioning system of the entire hotel. I immediately alerted the hotel management that I worry to sleep in the room since I sleep with an open window at night. The hotel manager told me that she doesn't have an available room, she couldn't let us switch. Moreover, they swore to the trip manager that they have an alarm system on the roof and in the hallway so that if anyone walks there, the alarm goes off all over the hotel. I fell asleep at night with the window open...I heard voices at night and closed it. When we woke up in the morning, we saw a person standing there close to the window. Unbelievable!

"Comfortable stay"
Alexander H, 21 Avril 2016

Stayed here for a week while on a work trip and I must say I am very pleased with the hotel. Although I cannot comment on the price as this was covers by my employer I cab however comment on my stay. It's in a good location, just on the outskirts of cassino town and easily accessible. There is a supermarket just down the road and a peril station opposite, so it has amenities around it. The building looks like your traditional Mediterranean style building, a bit dated but the rooms are of good quality. The beds are comfortable, tea and coffee provided, good size TV with access to local Italian TV. The rooms are off good size, plenty of space for storage and the bathroom is a good size as well. My room had a shower only but that's not a problem. The staff are polite, the front desk do speak a little English, which is a bonus and there is also a little gym and pool. The breakfast is of good quality with plenty to choose from and they offer a 15 Euro 3 course meal, which was pretty good. Overall I enjoyed my stay, was comfortable and hassle free. Obviously this is not a high end hotel, but I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting this region.

"Great service"
Rob C, 30 Mars 2016

The hotel has a high score on quality /price level. The hotel is little bit dated but the price is good. The breakfast is superb for the price you pay. And a special mention for the excellent service of the reception. Thank you for all.

"Adequate"
Jan L, 16 Mars 2016

Stayed here one night on our way over to the east coast. It was a little difficult to find. It is off on its own and not close to restaurants or shopping. Dinner at the hotel was very good as was the breakfast buffet. The room was good however the heat was blasting and there was no way to adjust it (we were there in January) when we spoke to the front desk they told us to open the window....which did not help. Unfortunately this made for a very uncomfortable sleep. Girl on the front desk in the morning when we were checking out was very helpful. She couldn't do enough to help us with directions and suggestions for our next day of travel over to Bari.

"Out of town and small rooms"
56stevem68, 16 Octobre 2015

The hotel is over 1 km from the town centre on a road without pavements. The hotel itself is reasonable although the single rooms are very small with a small shower as well. Breakfast is ok but if you are on a group tour the evening meal is fixed apart from vegetarian.

"Short overnight stay with our car to visit local historical sight of international interest."
tricia c, 02 Octobre 2015

Modern Hotel rooms comfortable and very clean. An ideal location for our purpose both quiet and relaxing after long journey.Safe car parking and a pleasant dining room with good food..A very modern style shower /wet room very spacious with a more than adequate supply of towels soaps etc.We left our passports by mistake so had to request that they be sent on to us.we had to make phones calls and send e-mails to back back up our initial approach before receiving them a week later which caused problems for us .We use this group of hotels when travelling in Europe often and are always satisfied on the whole.Staff here could have been more helpful.

"Not bad - can easily be better!"
Sandy M, 16 Septembre 2015

We stayed one night at the Hotel Rocco as we toured the sites around Cassino. The hotel and room was clean. Angela at the front desk was superb! She was so accommodating and informative about things to see in the area. The downsides were two things. The bathroom did not have a shower. Only a handheld unit affixed to the tub. After a long day of travel, a real shower, regardless of how small, or if it is contained with the walls of a shower would be great. The second downside was the breakfast. The selections were meager at best. The eggs they offered were terrible and practically non existent and never replaced. The meat and cheese they offered were minimal and never replaced. The cereal selections were two chocolate and one corn flakes. Yogurt was offered but to have it flavored you needed to add flavored jam to the plain yogurt to get a flavored yogurt. The restaurant was empty when we had lunch which was not great, and it was empty when we left to go out for dinner. I think that says something about the food preparation. The hotel is OK, just don't expect much. Hopefully the owner will read this review and give Angela a pay raise as she is the best part of the hotel.

"FANTASIC SERVICE FROM ANGELA AND STEFANO AGAIN AND GREAT LOCATION FOR HAWAY WATER PARK"
EileenKloosiev, 20 Août 2015

This is our second stay and the reason we came again is threefold: the great service from the fluent English speaking Angela on reception who organises everything for us; Stefano and his Mercedes mini bus that spins us around at reasonable prices as well as collection/delivery to/from Cassino railway station; location is smack next door to the Haway water park (separate review) which is a great daytime bribe for the kids to behave later during the less 'child friendly' sight seeing activities, etc This time I booked online rather than direct and before I'd concluded my easyjet flight booking, Angela was on the phone fine tuning our multi-room booking! Nothing is too much trouble and, as she is nearly always there morning, afternoon or evening, it is her looking after you. Last time we came it was Hotel Rocca and now it is BEST WESTERN Hotel Rocca but apart from being more able now to 'book online' via the usual agents, I would not have known: same key people looking after us. The Wi-Fi is very much improved now and I'm guessing the very good card entry system for the rooms wasn't there in 2013 either but these improvement would have happened anyway I suspect and are perhaps nothing to do with the ‘name change' as such. The restaurant seemed busier than last time which actually improves the family ambiance. Whilst it wasn't planned, we ended up using it three nights in our 4 night stay August 15. All very good. Breakfast is what one would expect in Italy. We brought our own box of CoCo pops and Nutella to humour our 2 fussy 10 year olds but everything else was there. Cereal choice limited – I think we had a choice from small individual 'variety pack' cereal boxes in 2013. A combination of my partner's patience on the toaster and a bowl of pears & yogurt was more than enough to keep me going until lunchtime. Coffee average. Rooms are very good. The girls had quite a large one this time around with a view of Monte Cassino at the top of the mountain (and car park) whilst us boys had a view of the water park and mountains in the distance. Air con works well and relatively quietly. Was able to run movies etc from our iPads on their room TV's. Hotel reception area (air con) and outside terrace areas are its strong points - great place to relax or have a beer or a coffee in the afternoon or after or before dinner. Lots of sturdy red leather sofas to spread out on - especially the kids! Overall very happy with our stay again so thank you very much Angela, Stefano and the rest of the ‘Hotel Rocca' team. I'm sure we will be back!

"Amazing hoilday"
Stacey W, 13 Août 2015

When you first enter the hotel it seems a bit dated, but this is true Italian style and the hotel has lots of history inside. The hotel staff were amazing and really made our family holiday. They helped with everything from renting a car to explaining about the town and the history of the Cellini family. The food was lovely in the hotel and we always good service. If we were in Cassino and needed a taxi then we just called the hotel and they arranged a taxi straight away, nothing was a problem to them. The hotel is clean, fresh towels and bedding every day. You have a water park directly behind the hotel which was great for the children, if you are a guest at the hotel then it only costs you 3euro for a bed (if you want one). The water park has rides and plenty of slides. I would highly recommend this hotel to see all Italy has to offer. The only down side is the walk into Cassino, it was nearly 2 miles with no side pavement, with a 7 year old and a push chair it was pretty hard work at times as the road is busy which you are walking along but we managed ok.
