    « Treasure...... What a great find. »

We stumbled across this place by accident. It was amazing. I highly recommend staying here. We had a family room over looking the water. It was massive, clean, great view in short perfect. We got a great deal because it wasn't high season so perfect for us.

    « Olivia Williams »

Professional staff & establishment ! Strongly recommend the hotel - extremely well run with a high level of commitment from all staff to make your holiday memorable. Excellent standard of cleanliness too.... a rare find.

« Not a 5 star hotel but overall positive »

We stayed here for 2 weeks at first in one of the small rooms which felt cramped and certainly not of a 5 star size and quality. Indeed the housekeeping was not of the highest standard with one day the room only partially serviced which elicited an apology and 2 glasses of champagne from Mr Bottas. We were upgraded for the second week to a larger room which had a settee. For me there were some irritants. Charging €5.5 for a small bottle of Diet Coke selling at €.5 in the supermarket. A premium is expected in a hotel but this is outrageous. The pool looks large but 2/3rds are of insufficient depth for swimming. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and an evening meal was well cooked but maybe 25% more expensive than a good local restaurant. The tea/coffee trays didn't tend to get 'serviced' and the strict instructions not to put anything into the fridge felt unnecessarily officious. If the hotel wanted to get 5 stars from me then 2 free bottles of water a day which are normal in genuine 5* hotels would be a start and a sense that paying a high accommodation charge shouldn't mean that guests are also going to be 'ripped off' as well.

    « A perfect vacation in a fabulous place »

This magnificent establishment is a perfect place to spend an unforgettable vacation. The island is a heaven itself and this hotel makes it even more beautiful. Perfectly located in a quite place at the foot of the mountain, it takes 5 minutes to get to the beautiful sandy beach by the free shuttle that was always in our disposal. We had a lovely room with a remarkable panoramic view on the bay of Calvi from our spacious terrace. The restaurant is open for the breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great variety of dishes on the buffet during the breakfast, fascination execution of courses for the dinner. Absolutely lovely staff and service. I personally appreciated all the advices and recommendations given by the front office employers concerning beaches, restaurants and places to visit in the region. Too many good qualities to describe them all : friendly staff, beautiful location, high level of services provided, incredible family atmosphere, outstanding cleanliness. Thank you for making our vacation a real dream. We will definitely come back.

    « A wonderful hotel »

On our first visit to Calvi, we loved both the town and the hotel. Although the hotel is a little way outside the town, there is a hotel minibus service every hour going to the port. It is in a peaceful location. Ample car parking. There is a lovely clean swimming pool, with a drinks service. We had every meal sat outside on the terrace. The breakfast buffet had a great selection. With prior notice, the chef kindly accommodated a request for a meat free choice at dinner. The staff were universally helpful and friendly. The reception staff booked a boat trip for us. Nothing was too much trouble for the restaurant staff, a lovely group of young people. M Bottos was visible and personally checked that guests were happy with their hotel experience. We were sorry to leave. Thank you again.

    « Wonderful honeymoon »

We chose this hotel based on the great reviews for our honeymoon. We wanted something low key and local but nice as well. The hotel facilities were great. It's a small hotel with a great pool area, the Jacuzzi pool was wonderful too. A short walk from town meant we wandered to the restaurants and beach easily. We mentioned we were on our honeymoon and the manager gave us a free bottle of Tattinger champagne, which we enjoyed watching the sunset. The staff were very friendly and I felt I could approach them for anything. They booked us a table at a restaurant at our request. A great hotel in a beautiful little Corsican town.

    « June 2016 »

A very nice, clean and luxurious hotel with welcoming, smiling staff on reception, a place you always felt welcome. The room was lovely with a balcony and table/chairs and view of pool and the sea in the distance: It's a couple of km to the coast, but there was a free shuttle to take you to town and back. Impressive bathroom to complement the air-conditioned room, good quality shower gel, shampoo and moisturiser. Honey seems to be in fashion at the moment. My only gripe - poor soundproofing - you could hear too much from outside the room - the reception downstairs, doors slamming, conversations, the next room's toilet flushing. Breakfast was very good indeed: a beautiful terrace with partial shade near the pool, with palm trees around. A wide choice of food - a chef ready to cook omelettes and crêpes to order, before bringing them to the table. I found the coffee a little bitter, however. Decent pool and plenty of good furniture with towels/dressing gowns available. Recommended for a few nights, en passant.

« Best Western Hotel Corsica »

Just returned from a fabulous week's holiday in Corsica. Stayed at the Best Western Hotel Corsica and was very happy. Comfortable rooms, with good a/c and a fantastic swimming pool to cool off in. Shuttle bus into town very efficient and FREE! Great staff. Thoroughly recommended, despite its apparent distance from the beach and port.

    « A nice spot to stay »

People in the hotel are super! It's a few minutes out of town but there is a hotel shuttle that runs every hour during the day until midnight. If you want, it's only a 20-25 min walk. The rooms of pleasant and very clean with good A/C. The pool is nice and crystal clear. They also have a hot tub and sauna available for guests. I am a pilot by trade, and see lots of hotels, this one is very good in a place where they can be only so-so. I don't think you will be disappointed

    « Amazing week »

We had a perfect stay in the room with a panoramic view. The hotel is beautiful, clean and with lovely surroundings. While the hotel is just outside the city of Calvi itself, it's only a short walk to the city or the beach. If you aren't so inclined, the hotel provides an hourly, free shuttle to take you and pick you up. Hikers will be pleasantly surprised by a treat waiting just behind the hotel - the Capu di a Veta mountain and its walking trail. The hotel itself has a great interior and the restaurant has an outdoor patio to eat with a view. You will never want to leave the pool side, sipping drinks on the deck chairs. The staff is as expected - very welcoming, courteous, and friendly. We hope to come back one day.

    « Welcoming and lovely.. »

The hotel is situated about 10 min by car from the port and the town center , which is actually good because you can retreat to a relaxing calm atmosphere after spending time in town . It has a lovely pool, spacious common place. Our room was on a smaller size but with a terrace/balcony facing the bay and the view of the Citadel it turned out to be perfect! It is a bit outdated for the five star hotel but you get compensated by the service. The stuff (local and international team ) will go far out of their way to make you staying perfect . Very patient , kind, professional, will help you with advice on the restaurant , excursions , walks.., spas (invite specialist to the hotel if you wish) Great holiday place , recommend !

    « Holiday »

We had a very nice stay for 2 couples. Good parking abilities, friendly staff, excellent comfort and food. The swimming pool is a must in July. 3km to beach and town, but a free shutterfly every hour. Strongly recommended for a quiet stay. Calvi is a must egen you visit Corsica.

    « Rude Staff »

Lovely hotel, good breakfast, nice pool. However, it seems as if they went out of their way to be rude. Passive, aggressive rudeness. Being ignored at front counter when came to ask question or for a towel. We were told checkout was at 11 and at 10:30 they started making very persistent phone calls to all of our rooms stating that the checkout time was 10:30. Even if we 'were' told the wrong time, the hotel was practically empty and they could have given us 30 min! it is a shame that a lovely hotel otherwise is over-shadowed by rude staff, if you do not want tourists or our money then do not open your doors for business, or please just state 'Americans not welcome' - because that was a consistent message amongst not just one but all of the staff. I would not recommend this hotel if you are English speaking.

« Great hotel / great staff / great management »

Spent a enjoyable 7 nights -1 ( another story) at this small although large by Corsican standards Collected at the airport by the hotels own minibus transfer is no more than 15 mins Lovely clean marble floor in reception upgraded to a panoramic view room with glorious views of the sea and cited all around 1 and a half miles form Calvi Room was beautifully furnished with loads of draw space balcony with tables and chairs Super for a late afternoon drink Breakfasts were heathy and plenty full with your omelette man there for anything special Nice pool area with sun beds and parasols no shortage of beds but to be honest it was very quiet all pool area is a sun trap outdoor jacuzzi is a good feature Shuttle service runs to Calvi port every hour from 8 an to 11 pm you can come and go as you want 2 super obliging drivers Big thanks to the manager mr savelli and his staff for thier concern and practical help when I had a short illness Only hotel in Calvi we would consider when we come back to Corsica Brian h

    « Fantastic hotel »

We have just returned from a week at this hotel and can't recommend it enough. Nice room, lovely staff, fantastic breakfasts, wonderful pool and the shuttle bus service is friendly and efficient. The location is peaceful and quiet but the town and beach are just a ten minute ride away.

    « Wonderful holiday »

My husband and I have just returned this week from a lovely holiday at The Corsica Hotel Calvi. This was our second visit and again we were not disappointed. We were up-graded to a room on the top floor with a completely uninterrupted view out over the swimming pool to Calvi and the sea beyond. The room was large and very well appointed with one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in, and to my delight enough light to be able to read in bed without straining my eyes ? which is always a particular bugbear of mine! The bathroom was also a good size and well equipped ? plenty of towels and toiletries. There was a good choice of food at breakfast, both hot and cold ? even crepes freshly made in front of you if you so wished. We had dinner twice in the hotel ? it was delicious ? I highly recommend the mille feuilles tomato and mozzarella starter and the lamb cutlets which were succulent! At the end of our last dinner the proprietor very kindly treated us to a cognac to round off the meal ? a delightful gesture. The staff were extremely efficient and nothing was too much trouble ? and we loved the fact that when we got back from breakfast each morning our room had already been made up, which hasn't always been the case in some hotels we have stayed in. I recommend this very well run hotel to anyone wanting peace and quiet and a beautiful location on what we believe is one of the loveliest islands in the Mediterranean..

    « Lovely location »

We have just returned from a fly/drive holiday on Corsica, the Hotel Corsica was our first hotel on our route. Our room was spacious with lovely en-suite and had beautiful views of the sea, swimming pool and garden. We spent four nights at the hotel and had two evening meals in the restaurant, the food was very good. The hotel is located on the edge of Calvi but a free shuttle is supplied for guests who do not have a car. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Hope to return to the hotel again next year. Annette and Neil May from Hertfordshire.

    « Breakfast poor »

Many things about the hotel are good, its quiet, good location if you have a car. Friendly staff. Clean. But the breakfasts are poor, no Adult cereals like muselli or bran flakes, just coco pops and cornflakes. As items like fruit, bread run out, they are not replaced unless you ask and wait. Its a 4 star not 5.

    « Wonderful stay »

Stayed few nights there . The location and view were exceptional. The staff and manager were friendly and did everything to make our stay outstanding. I will highly recommend it for anyone. I think I will be back there again

    « Amazing »

Went to this hotel for one weeks stay on the September 20th 2015 what a great place. From the moment we were given our room key such excellent service. We had booked a side sea view and ended up in room 301 wow full sea view loads of space in the room but do ask for the complimentary tea making facilities. From the balcony you could see the Citadel again fantastic view. Special thanks to all the staff especially Claire in the restaurant who helped with our French, Marzena in reception who booked our trips and the drivers for all the shuttle bus rides. We had three evening meals at the hotel we paid a little more than in Calvi itself but worth it . I don't eat meat and they even let me mix my meals to suit and free olives while awaiting dinner to arrive. The location is quite and unless you walk 45 mins each way into Calvi you need to use the shuttle bus., although we did walk each way one day. The shuttle will also take you to the beach but we were quite happy to lounge around the quite pool area. There is also a sauna and jacuzzi and sun lounges are comfy. Only one slight downfall couldn't sit outside for breakfast to many wasps. Would go back again and ask for room 301 thank you to all the staff at the hotel for making our stay exceptional. Sue and Ken Turner Nottingham.

    « Hotel Corsica review »

My wife and I recently spent a week at Hotel Corsica and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were kindly upgraded to a room with a panoramic view overlooking the lovely pool with distant views of Calvi and the sea. The hotels facilities were extremely good and all the staff were excellent. I would be happy to recommend this hotel to family and friends.

    « Peaceful »

The hotel is located out of the center of Calvi but is well signposted from the town. It has a nice view overlooking the town and bay and well-maintained gardens. There was ample parking - the carpark was never full while I stayed there in August during the high season. It is generally very quiet, the only noise was generally from other guests arriving or departing. The staff were evidently well trained and unfailingly polite and very helpful. Room service when we used it was prompt. The pool is not very big but a dip in it's cooling waters is very welcome after a hot day. There were always loungers and fresh towels available whenever we went down. The room was a reasonable size without being huge, the decor was perhaps a little kitsch but not over the top. That being said the weather was lovely and there was a lot to see and do in Calvi so we didn't spend a lot of time indoors. The room had a balcony big enough for a small table and two chairs so you can sit out and enjoy the view or have a leisurely breakfast. The bathroom was also a good size and it was kept very clean. The WiFi signal was good and the signal strength was consistent, we had no problems connecting to the internet or checking email. One small quibble was that there was a sign on the fridge asking guests not to put their own items into the room fridge as a cleanliness measure. This I have not seen before so it did strike me as a little unusual. Would I stay here again: Maybe. It is not cheap and if I found something more affordable I would be tempted to try elsewhere.

« Lovely Hotel in a rurel setting »

A lovely small hotel in a rural quiet setting close to calvi, you can be in town within 5 minutes but in a very quiet location with panoramic views overlooking Calvi and the sea. The hotel has been recently refurbished both inside and out to a very high standard. I do not consider it 5 stars solely for lack of amenities but definitely a good 4 star hotel. There is a nice pool area and outside restaurant/ bar for lunch time dining. The bedrooms are small but well furnished with good standard amenities. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus service on demand to both the calvi beach and town, day time and evening. Ample free secure car parking. The breakfast is good value with a variety of good fresh food available. All members of staff are friendly, efficient and very helpful. Would recommend this hotel as a great base to explore the area in general or just a relaxing break.

    « Beautiful »

The hotel was in a fantastic location, with magnificent views of the Corsican countryside. The food and the wine were par excellence, the dessert had us in raptures. Lovely staff, very helpful. A sheer delight.

« Hotel agreable certe mais pas aussi luxueux qu'un 5 etoiles! »

Very nice and enjoyable hotel in Calvi. I really enjoyed my stay there and i have to admit that the staff of the hotel are really pleasant and helpful making your stay even better. However, on the norms of a 5 stars hotel you would expect more from the rooms to the selection of food at the restaurant. I still appreciated what they offered but wouldn't it class as a high-end hotel.

« Lots to love about this place! »

This is a small, well-kept hotel high above the city of Calvi, in a quiet, residential area. First impressions for a 5-star hotel are not fabulous, as the entry from the parking lot is quite plain, but that all disappears once you're in the lobby. The desk personnel are very friendly and speak many languages, a big bonus for those who don't speak French. There is a major design flaw in that to get to the elevators, you have to get up a flight of stairs, and then once off of the elevator, there are still a few stairs to get to the rooms. For those with lots of luggage or heavy suitcases, this is a real nuisance. And our particular bell boy was not that helpful. Perhaps he was new... The rooms are small, but very clean and the decor is very nice. For a small room, they have done a great job of designing the furnishings, and we were able to unpack everything and stick the suitcases in the corner. There were sweet little balconies with amazing views of the citadel. Sadly, our bed was a bit worn and not very comfortable. Our airco was definitely not powerful enough, but the one in our kids room next to us was better. I guess it's luck of the draw. The restaurant and pool are off of the lobby and they are beautiful. The staff in the restaurant were about as good as they come. Very helpful, very professional. They were all very likeable, but one is particular, Mila (?), will probably be snatched up by a top chain from London or Paris. She was that good. The menu was on the small side, but the set menu was a great value and all the food was fabulous. We had amazing food, which we don't usually expect in a hotel restaurant. Also, the breakfast buffet had us spoiled for the rest of our trip: great choice, genuine eggs, an omelette/crepe station, beautiful breads, and fresh juices. They also had meats, cheese, and even a breakfast dessert selection (fruit in yoghurt and cakes, etc.) We ate out on the patio most of the time and it was so enjoyable. And again, sublime service. We were all quite homesick for this place once we had to move on. The pool was a very decent size and it was kept very clean. We were lucky in that there were not a lot of noisy kids, so we really enjoyed our pool time. We had the pool to ourselves for some hours and it was blissful. You could order drinks and light snacks to be served out there. There was also a hot tub that was popular. The surrounding grounds were immaculate. We had a car, but the hotel did offer a shuttle service to the town/beach. The drive was short (10min), but there was sometimes heavy-ish traffic mid-morning and dinner time. Calvi is a pretty busy town, so we appreciated the relative isolation of this hotel. It was like a little oasis for us to come back to. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Calvi.

« Superb location, great pool, excellent staff, poor rooms »

Location, 2km from the beach and 4 from the very heart of Calvi city is indeed not a problem : either you benefit from a free hotel shuttle (to the beach, to the port) or, if you have your own car, quite easy to park near the city (for free) and very easy on the beach (a - good -surprise ofr us) The view from most of the rooms is fantastic, over a very nice garden in the hotel, you can embrace the pinestry and then the very famous Calvi Bay, as well at the world-famous Citadelle. From everywhere, you know that you are in Calvi and you will remember this landscape for your whole life. Rooms : to be honest, very small and not 5-star ones, by far. More 4-star or even standard 3-star rooms. But, for us, it was not a great problem as you spend your time outdoor. Restaurant : good value-for-money at breakfast. Excellent food for dinner (equivalent to a gastronomic restaurant) and right one at lunch for pool service. Swimming pool : large, superb, surrounded by palm trees. Clearly depending on some angle views, you feel like in Mauritius ! Pool large enough for the hotel and very well designed A special thank to Hotel Corsica director Mr Bottoz : dedicated, hardworker, very keen to help and satisfy clients (we had to change rooms)

« Lovely place to get away from it all »

Excellent food, great pool, friendly and helpful staff and great location. We were really pleased with this hotel. The view of the Citadel from the restaurant was so amazing it could have been a painting!

    « definitely not a 5 star! »

Location: far from the city center, not walking distance (10 min by car) Room and reception: clean hotel and rooms but a wonderful example of bad taste, "kitchissime" and in serious need of a MAKEOVER Wifi: very poor signal and we haven't been able to use it reliably during our 3 day stay Swimming pool: big swimming pool with nice view over the sea and Calvi. Ambiance : beginning of august and the hotel seemed eerily empty. Staff: professional and nice it was definetly not worse 310€/night

    « Great hotel »

Nice rooms with fantastic view over the sea. A nice pool, with a friendly staff. A reception where personal are willing to support. The distance to the beach, about two kilometer. Walking distance to supermarket.

    « Excellent Experience »

Spent a week in this hotel in mid-July and it was heaven. The staff was so nice and accommodating and helpful. The pool and gardens are extremely pleasant. Breakfast and lunch were delicious, well priced and served in a lovely setting. The room was small but extremely clean with a comfortable balcony. The internet worked very well. Really, it was perfect!

« Wonderful experience in Calvi »

We stayed at the Best Western Hotel Corsica for 6 nights and wished it had been for many more. The hotel is lovely, the grounds beautiful, the staff very pleasant and accommodating. The pool was delightful, the internet worked well and was free. Breakfast was very, very nice, lunch was extremely nice and overall the whole experience was everything one could hope for.
