Best Western Plus Suites Downtown

We stayed for five nights and there was the good and the bad. The good, great location, very nice staff, and a great breakfast everyday with a number of choices. Many restaurants nearby. Check out Johns pizza arcos the street, the Noodle Box (delicious} , the BBQ chicken place next door and many others. Also use Calgary cab just $41 CAD flat rate from the airport. Now the bad There is construction going on inside the hotel every weekday between 9-4 PM. If you are planning to work or spend time in your room during this time it will be hard to concentrate. We were on the second floor, construction is on floors 8,9,10 and we could hear it all continuously. There are similar priced properties nearby so its your choice. Lastly if you do stay here and book just a queen room it will be on the second floor and the rooms there are dated and barely presentable. So at the very least ask for one of the refurbished rooms. It's your choice. If they had offered us a newer room upon check-in it would have made for a nicer stay. I understand they need to upgrade the property, but it would be better to, stay hereafter completion.

When we checked in we were upgraded to a suite which was nice. The room was very large, quiet and the bed was super comfortable. The rooms and halls were very dated but it looks like they may be starting renovations soon. The bathroom and bedroom were clean but the living room area could use some TLC. We had an ice time and the free included breakfast was good with quite a few choices. You do have to pay for parking, $20 either over or underground. Overall we would stay here again.

This hotel is going through renovations. I wouldn't stay here til completed. It's very dated, old and grimy. Rooms are not super clean. Double queen room we had was large and quiet. Location to Saddledome was perfect

Due to internet glitches I accidentally booked twice for the same room 10-12 months in advance. When our plans changed I logged in to Best Western and cancelled the only booking I saw there and the only one I was aware of. Unfortunately there was another booking I was unaware of for which I received no emails regarding my upcoming trip in the months prior. I was charged the full rate as a no show and numerous calls to Best Western established it's the hotel's decision whether to send automated emails regarding upcoming trips and to charge or waive fees. Unfortunately Best Western Downtown Calgary are definitely only interested in their bottom line. Book directly with this hotel at your own risk! I should have listened to all the negative reviews and never booked!

This is our go-to hotel anytime we come into Calgary. Friendly and welcoming staff. Great location. 2 blocks from 17th Ave and walking distance to all things downtown. Nice rooms, comfortable sleep, and a delicious breakfast in the morning.

Good place near to the downtown, good breakfast, excellent staff members service. The view of my room was really nice. Good space in the parking lot. I am wondering if they can extent the restaurant hours or put some drinks machines.

This hotel is in a very ideal location, really close to the school the basketball tournament was at, and close to the brewery that we went to to watch the Oilers hockey game. We were able to walk to both

I am reviewing this hotel knowing that it isn't a 5 star hotel. I was looking for a 1 night, business trip. The staff was extremely friendly, and accommodating. The hotel is in a prime location, easy on sit parking but also free after 6pm to 9 am and free on Sundays. Tons of restaurants, coffee shops etc. breakfast included. I got a rate of $160 (not including taxes), so much better than the Delta where I stayed the night prior. No significant other amenities, but I wasn't looking for that so rated this place based on that. Very comfy bed, great kitchenette and desk as I had to work. Bright room with a view. Will definitely return here.

The rooms smell like old granny room, carpets are not cleaned, rooms are very old, not worth the price paid for it, beds were not comfy, all the bedding was full of lint, i regret, i would pay extra next time n choose other good ones nearby

Booked via BW for 125$ BW member rate per night, 2 nights. Arrived about noonish and room was ready. I got a nice suite with queen bed, sofa, well appointed kitchenette, good bathroom, decent view. The parking is free at the hotel, with both outdoors and underground parking. Gym was decently appointed, sauna room, no pool. Breakfast was decent, buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, beans, breads. Well located, close to plenty of restaurants and some transit.

We checked in late at around 22:00. The room was a good size and a bit dated. I was greeted with lots of hair on my bed which was disappointing. It had good amenities. It had a sofa bed and 2 large beds that were comfy that one did have a lot of hair and the sitting room also has a television. The Breakfast was decent but it did the job for a weary traveller.

Loved the kitchenette and Keurig coffee maker. Room also had a desk and coach. Bed was a bit hard but was satisfactory. Full breakfast was great but the Eff omelettes were just OK. Would definitely stay again.

We booked group in November for our students. I must say that there are very few places where we get flawless experience from start to end. -BestWestern in calgary downtown is one of them for sure! I must mention Rohan who was very efficient sales rep. He offered us great rates, coordinated guest list from three different locations as the students were coming in from Europe, US and Canada. We were offered breakfast room for our evening dinner pickups and upon request the Rohan managed to open breakfast room for us at 6AM on weekends. Front desk staff Abhinav, Ana were very friendly. We came to change keys multiple times and they were patient. Sorry about that folks! We will come back to this lovely place for our next MSA and hopefully their renovated rooms will add on a cherry to the cake. Thanks Rohan and team....

This hotel is in a good location, walk to lots of good eating places in minutes. Didnt have breakfast this time but i always stay here and its always been good. good view to keep an extra eye on car . they have under ground parking too if you prefer.

Hotel is just ok and clean, staff was friendly! 15 minutes walk to the core of downtown. Neighbourhood was kind of convenient and safe. Safeway and shoppers were close and you could walk there. Breakfast was ok.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. It was in an excellent position near a vibrant area of Calgary - packed with restaurants supermarkets and shops. Parking was easy and secure and checkin was quick. Our room was large and had numerous features including a useful kitchenette and refrigerator. The beds were very comfortable with numerous pillows to choose from and the bathroom was very good. There was a safe and excellent free internet. Breakfast was very good (sadly, though, using large amounts of disposable plates and cutlery rather than reusable). The rooms were very clean but the hotel is getting quite dated with rather gloomy corridors with very used carpets. This should improve with a planned refurbishment. Overall this is a very good choice for a hotel in Calgary and we will definitely return.

Room clean, service good, staff helpful, underground parking good and safe, near restaurants and stores, good neighbourhood, traffic easy to deal with, hotel make it easy to get to airport if needed, very satisfied.

I had a unpleasant experience at this place with additional charges which was never informed to me while booking and before visiting. The Official website is old school and that's why I booked not from the official website. The GM and management is not at all bother about surprises occurred while check in and does nothing to help us out to create a better experience. If I would provided an option, We really have better options in downtown to spend a pleasant night then this hotel. I'll suggest you to avoid this hotel at all the cost if if it's a special time.

Comfortable hotel within a 20 - 30 minute walking distance of downtown. Nice rooms with good amenities for making a hot drink or heating up and eating a pizza. Staff were very friendly. Appreciated them allowing us early entry to our room without us even asking.

You may expect the following based on my personal experience in 2023 mid-August: Check-in time may be postponded until 5:00 pm due to delayed housekeeping. Decent clean rooms, but may have tiny dirty spots or blood stains on the bed sheet/pillow. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff at the front desk.

Hotel is under renovation. Our room was renovated and is comfortable. We had a 2 bedroom suite and was great for family of 5. The drapes needs to be changed as they have holes. Overall stay was great and the breakfast included in stay was a bonus. Good selection. Could add some fruits for breakfast.

Hotel is great location - centrally located in Downtown Calgary. Price is excellent. Has convenient and free parking. Offers complimentary breakfast. Room is clean and has stove top, fridge, microwave with a few dishes. Great place to stay. A secret little gem that is undergone renovations to be even better. Hopefully the prices will not increase....

We spent our first night here arriving in Alberta . After we travelled around we booked our last night somewhere else . The rooms are outdated , terrible carpet from the 70's that looked dirty . Good location

The hotel is in a good location for walking to bars & restaurants, especially in 17th Ave. Free underground secure parking is useful. Inside, the decor is old and clearly in need of updating, but there is a notice in the lobby describing the 2022/23 renovation. My suite on the 16th (top) floor was spacious but again, looked like a relic from the 70's with outdated furniture and facilities! The windows do not seal such that traffic noise was irritating during the night. Would I stay again - probably not.

Booked for the Badlands Music Festival, walking distance and close to 711/safeway for snacks and drinks. Had a good sleep! underground parking available. Currently under construction, but everything was still very accessible and nice

The room and hallways were outdated and retro but still clean. Kitchen had everything we needed. We had a bizarre issue with the check-in where the front desk tried to tell us our reservation had been cancelled months prior, which was not true. We didn't cancel our reservation, and if they did on their end they never notified us of it. In fact, I was still receiving emails about checking in for my reservation the day before we arrived, so it was very stressful and confusing to get there and be told our reservation was cancelled months ago. Luckily they still had rooms for us, but still. Get your reservation and notification system sorted out.

The hotel was clean, friendly staff, and has underground parking so felt safe. Hotel is really close to Safeway for buying snacks and drinks for the teenagers. It is about a 15 minute walk to metro. I would stay again.

The room was very clean and the took good care of us mostly for the entire trip. The only thing was realizing in the middle of the night that we had no bedding for the pull out couch in the suite. And we had to go to the front desk to retrieve some as they would not bring any up. Also they were out of pillows so my first night I did not sleep with one.

This was a very nice hotel with friendly staff and a nice big King suite with a comfy bed. Jose checked us in quickly and was very helpful. Great view from the 11th floor, and breakfast was excellent and extremely busy. Great location as well. I highly recommend this hotel.

In addition to friendly front desk, catering, and general staff, the location of the hotel on the Calgary Beltline was excellent. I walked to the entertainment district, Downtown, the stadium, and to the rivers in all directions. A very pleasant walk even in the winter to the scenic river. My room was on the higher floors facing the parking lot which has beautiful sunrise skyline views. Breakfast is included and has many items (much more that what I eat at home). Photos of the skyline and frozen river are attached.

I was here for an event in Calgary with a friend and booked the family suite so we could have our own bedroom. Hotel rooms are outdated but clean, good value and location. Close to 17th ave where all the bars and restaurants are and a 7 minute walk from the C-train station. Would stay here again.

Usually staying in the center of the big city is very noisy and ugly. But this hotel is located in the heart of downtown very close to everything in Calgary with a very affordable price and breakfast included. The rooms are quite big and comfortable.

Great value for the location! Walking distance to many restaurants and amenities in the area. Very quick commute to the downtown core. Ample parking behind the hotel which can be a hassle at other hotels in the area.

The hotel is an older building but is very clean and has undergone some renovations with more planned. The cost of the room during the weekend was a very great value. Very good breakfast and comfortable eating area. The staff were friendly and professional. The room was super clean and well appointed and had undergone some renovations. Small fridge, sink and table in kitchenette. Temperature controls were effective and a nice feature is to be able to open a window as well. Free parking for bookings made directly with the hotel was a very good saving. The location was excellent, making it easy to leave the car parked for the weekend and walk to restaurants and visit family.

Chose this hotel to host our guests for a large conference. The team at the hotel were accommodating and went above and beyond for all of guests. I would choose this location again, the price was very reasonable.

The hotel staff were very pleasant. The breakfast had great options. The room was clean and comfortable. Only thing was the hotel was a bit dated but they were in the middle of upgrading the rooms. I would recommend this hotel if you want to be downtown for a moderate price.

The supervisor wrongfully charged my credit card for 2 vehicles of parking for 1 night. First off the website states one free car parking for a room. Secondly, my friend had paid the parking invoice with cash and I did NOT give him my credit card. We have the receipt that he sent that states it was paid in cash. Yet he charged my CC for the parking. My friends CC does not show a fee from the hotel because she did NOT pay with a card but DID pay with cash. In order for them to return the fee to my CC it has taken a lot of time and effort. Both the supervisor and the manager (so I was told) are not customer service savvy. in trying to sort this out. Bottom line....the supervisor is up to some dirty fraudulent business. Do NOT pay cash!!! I say this because I know of two women who have been charged from 2 hotels for theft. The customers who paid cash, they pocketed the cash. Seems this is what happened to us. First night that I paid with through a site, an employee female attempted to charge me again. The last day the supervisor handed me someone else's invoice. This guy took the money from my friend then charged my card because he had it on file. This appears like theft! On a good note the concert that we attended was excellent and the room that we stayed in was nice.

We had an extended stay with my family. It was an adventurous time we had as we enjoyed knowing the where to n how to since it's situated in the downtown of the city of Calgary. The staff from the time you enter the hotel and walk by any staff of any of the departments you find them all friendly - the front end staff, the management staff, the supervisors, the cleaning assistants, the maintenance assistants, the breakfast assistants - whether it's a short stay or an extended like mine you will experience the same service. Excellent stay with comfort of sleeping and waking up to a warm delicious breakfast daily different menu. After being told of an allergy alert they not only did NOTHING as required but put me in the worst room they have. I've been there before, and this was HORRIBLE. NASTY strong smell as soon as you walk in the room - of dank mold and perfume cover up. Freezing cold coming from windows, heating system going on and off non stop with hot air then for some reason in winter, freezing cold air con. Awful.

Very friendly staff and very spacious and clean rooms. Downtown BW in Calgary was the best. I had a suite which had all the kitchen equipment needed to cook a meal. Suite was big enough to live in long term.

We stayed in a king suite, nice layout, old furniture and curtains, etc. The hotel will be renovated (so far only the lobby and breakfast area have been renovated). Future plans look incredible and it will enhance the hotel rooms! Friendly and welcoming staff

Large clean room with a large comfy bed, but the room was tired. Loved that the rooms had proper mugs rather than disposable cups. We had a great nights sleep but the hotel is tired and badly in need of the in progress renovations. Friendly staff. Breakfast is free but limited.

This hotel was not my first choice in Calgary - in fact it wasn't even on my radar until my travel partner mentioned it to me. That being said, I think we still made the right decision. Although the hotel itself was older (no surprise - pictures online do reflect this), it met our expectations especially considering the very reasonable rates for two-bedroom suites plus free parking - an extremely rare find nowadays. As I booked the biggest suite available there was no upgrade, but the front desk acknowledged my elite status and offered a welcome gift bag. Our suite was clean, view was great, and had everything we needed plus a full kitchen with a full-size oven. Beds were on the older side as and felt very firm, but did not bother me too much. Breakfast was decent considering it was free. The team here was also great, I enjoyed my interactions with the front desk, and housekeeping checked on us throughout our stay and made sure we were taken care of. I noticed a poster with details on upcoming renovation in the lobby - will be very excited to check out the place again when the facelift is all finished.

The hotel looks dated. It is ready for a total renovation. At it current state, it doesn't give a BW "Plus" class type hotel. The parking is tight and very limited. If you have a bigger vehicle, it might be challenging to go down to the underground parking. The carpet on the floor doesn't give a "clean" feeling. It looks old and over used. The continental breakfast is good. They serve hot breakfast (ie. egg patty, sausage and bacon). They have a waffle station to make your own waffle as well. To avoid the crowd during busy season, try to go earlier. The room is okay. They have all the amenities in the room. The beds are comfortable. The elevators are slow during busy time as there are only two of them. It is very close to downtown and you can walk to the C-Train stations on 7th Ave SW within minutes to downtown.

I stay here about once a month. Always friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms, good breakfast. The hotel was recently renovated making it even better. Free underground parking makes me feel safe and keeps the car cool in hot weather and warm in cold weather.

The hotel itself if fine. A little dated but the staff were friendly and it is clean. But the traffic noise was very disruptive. Either ambulances, fire trucks, police sirens or noisy cars racing around all night! On a Wednesday… I know it's a big city as i have stayed other places in this city but it was awful for rest. It was cost effective & it's not the hotel's fault but would not recommend.

Very clean hotel. Amazing staff. We asked for extra stuff like blankets etc. and staff was so friendly and they fulfil it. Rooms were very clean and kitchen was fully equipped. Location was very convenient.

Nice stay here. Had a 2 bedroom suite, 1 bedroom with a king size bed, 1 with queen and 1 pull out couch in living room. Kitchenette in room as well. Nice location downtown. Clean and comfortable. Only complain is the booze bicycle rolling by all the time hollering and ringing away which you can hear from your room, but at least that stops at some point late at night.

Our stay here was very good, with efficient, knowledgeable staff and a more than adequate breakfast served well, hot and with a variety catering to all tastes. The room was clean, well equipped and spacious.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located very close to 17th Avenue which is a great source of good restaurants. The price is very reasonable for what is offered. The breakfast was very satisfying. On the negative side, the hotel is a bit of a walk from some of the main downtown locations. It is an older hotel which is very clean and comfortable, but shows some of its age. We also had trouble getting our room cleaned on our second day.

My partner and I came from Toronto to Calgary for our best friend's wedding. 24 hours into our stay, we were shocked to discover that the door to our hotel room didn't lock (I just happened to check as we were heading out for the wedding). We notified staff who moved us to the room next door, which ALSO DID NOT LOCK. We were then moved to a third room down the hall which finally did lock. Because of this whole fiasco, we missed the wedding ENTIRELY. We were disturbed by the thought that our door had been unlocked for an entire day/night, anyone could have walked in. We had a large sum of cash for travel, and legal documents including our passports etc. I had even slept in the room without the deadbolt as my partner was out for the evening with friends. This was an egregious security issue, however the staff were entirely unhelpful and offered no compensation. If two doors in a row didn't lock, what are the odds that this isn't a pervasive security issue with the rest of the hotel? We were promised that the General Manager would contact us ASAP to discuss this issue, which he never did. My partner called the GM, who was curt and eventually hung up on him. After I called and left a message, he left a rude voicemail to me denying that he had done so. The issue is still unresolved 2 weeks later, and I've called the GM multiple times. In summary: TRAVELLER'S BEWARE. If you care about security and customer support, do not stay here.

The rooms are old and not updated. Upon arrival doors to ten bathroom was ripped out of the hinges therefore unable to close. Couldn't act then as we had to get ready for the event. Why nobody is checking stuff like that before giving away such a room to the guest??? Upon check out I mentioned the problem . The person acted surprised and there wasn't any real response to that . No compensation no real apologies. There are plenty of hotels around with great locations, clean and modern and great breakfast. For $250 per room per night you would think you are getting something better . Very disappointed

Honestly the rooms are big have kitchenette and all that but it's also shabby as hell. Also the lady at the front desk we simply asked if she's heard if the airport here is operating at normal capacity because that's what we've heard on the news to plan ahead and she sassed us” I don't work at the airport how would I know” just simply rude. Do better.

It was nice staying at Best Western. The breakfast was great. The staff were accommodating. The room was clean. We requested for late check out because my son has an appointment at 11:00 am. We were allowed to stay until 12:00 pm. Luckily, my son was able to move his appointment to 9:30 am so there was no need for us to stay until 12:00 pm. Definitely, I will be staying at any Best Western when I travel in the future. Thanks for the awesome service!

This is a very old building with old HVAC. The air circulation in the building has a terrible Miasma and the windows do not open. If you have Asthma, or any breathing problem I do not recommend. The rest of the experience was fine, but what is the point if you have to leave in the middle of the night because of the air quality?

I had simple needs / wants...a clean room; a bed and a meal (breakfast). Completely satisfied and very good value for the $$. Close enough to downtown; also close to other restaurants. Good work space. I didn't use pool / gym etc...

Great overall experience, view was great from our room, I loved having a kitchenette. My partner enjoyed the gym. And breakfast was good, personally not a fan of paying 20$ per dayfor parking when I am already paying to stay at the hotel as I believe that should be included for their guests.

While the location is good, and the rooms are clean, the issues with getting room items (sheets/towels) for 3rd guest, card daily demagnetizations, cooling malfunctioning, unreliable electrical outlets, dated rooms, you'd best look elsewhere.

This hotel was in a good location downtown, close to many businesses and restaurants within walking distance and to the Stampede Park. the breakfast was great, lots of selection and good food, not too crowded in the room where breakfast was. Our room was very spacious and had the extra sofa bed to accommodate 4 people staying. The hotel was a bit dated. Not sure the bathroom fan was working so great and the bathroom door didn't stay open.

Great service at the front desk! The room was a nice size and I loved the tucked away Kitchener! The price was very reasonable for a downtown Calgary hotel. Nice location when attending concerts at the Jack Singer concert hall. The bed was very comfortable and great breakfast!

Great for get around without a car. 4 min to Safeway Beltline supermarket (great selection/quality and price). Front desk was helpful. I sent an email prior to arrival for tours recommdation. Got the reply almost instantly. Breakfast was good and refill quick. Housekeeper did a great job. This will be our go to hotel whenever we visit Calgary!

For the price - this had to have been the best hotel stay ever. Great breakfast, great parking, great location. Couldn't have asked for anything better! The staff was super friendly, the location was super convenient to everything downtown. No complaints at all.

Affordable comfortable well located and clean. The bed was good nice linens the breakfast generous free parking if you book direct windows open very comfortable. A bit dated . Well priced Would stay again.

This hotel may not be fancy, modern or Booshie BUT I'd take the friendliness, cleanliness and location over those any day. Free breakfast was a HUGE bonus too. Id stay here again anytime. Very reasonably priced. Very impressed.

Guest room was big and bedroom separate from living room. There is a kitchenette too and it has everything you need. Huge windows are always a plus and they also have 2 TV's! My stay here was great and you could tell that the quality of service you get is definitely high compared to the others. Bathroom was clean too. There's also free breakfast! It's close to everything as well.

I stay here regularly when working in Calgary. It's fairly easy to get to. I like that it has underground parking if needed. It's a secure building. I like the rooms. Beds are very comfortable. Service is great.

*** 2022 WORST HOSPITALITY EXPERIENCE*** I arrived at the hotel and checked. The staff was pleasant at the time I'd check in. I took the time to put away my clothes and settle in to my room with no issues. I stepped out for lunch and returned back to the room and as soon as I entered, all I could smell was gas. The smell was so potent that it smelt like a jerrycan was left open in the room. I called the lobby and stated that there was a strong smell of gas in the room. Jessica, the receptionist stated she will contact the manager. After 10 minutes, I went down the lobby and asked Jessica if there's anything that the manager suggested. She stated that the maintenance man would check the room. I met the maintenance man and we both went up the elevator. He entered the room and and walked around going into the kitchen area and bathroom. I asked him if he could smell the potent smell. The maintenance man instantly said it was perfume that he smelt. I told him I'm hypoallergenic and I don't use perfume. He instantly then stated it was the cleaning chemicals they use for the room. I stated that when I checked in and settled in, there was no smell. I asked how the cleaning agent would all of a sudden smell, four hours later from check in? He got instantly mad and stormed out of the room. I went back to the reception area and he asked Jessica, if I had been to Best Western before. She stated I was an exclusive member and I use Best Western often. The maintenance man then got more flustered and shouted just refund them and get rid of them. I'm the midst of his hospitality, I asked Jessica if she was new. She seemed nervous. She stated yes. I told her I'm not mad at her and I just want the situation to be handled. I asked her if I could speak to her manager, Abhinav. She called “Abi” on her personal phone and passed the phone to me. I explained the situation of settling into the room, returning to the smell and all the attitude from the maintenance man. I stated that I don't care if my room gets downgraded, I just can't stand the potent smell of gas in the room and I felt it was a health issue. Abi stated there was nothing he can do for me but send me on my way. Frustrated with the poor hospitality, I went back to my room to pack my belongings. As I got out of the elevator, all I could smell was cologne on the floor hallway. The maintenance man has gone through the whole hallway of the floor and sprayed cologne to mask the smell. As I unlocked the door to my room I could hear my air conditioner on mid speed. The weekend was a cooler weekend and the weather was around -10 degrees Celsius. I never had turned my AC on in the room. The maintenance man had entered my room as well and turned my AC on. At this point I felt violated. Which company goes to these extents to hide their problems. I grabbed all my belongings and went back to Jessica. When I told her about the situation, she gave me nothing but attitude and a hard time. She was short, rude and dismissive. Frustrated at this point I asked for a statement for checking out and a refund. She was reluctant to deal with me and she wouldn't print me off a statement. Feeling frustrated, I packed up my vehicle and left to find a new hotel. The hospitality, attitude, lack of respect was atrocious. I highly do not recommend this establishment. I am still waiting for a resolution AND my REFUND. It's been a couple days and I've heard nothing or seen nothing. Beware of this hotel.

Older Hotel located downtown. Not extremely easy to get to but once you've found it, nice to be able to walk somewhere for dinner or lunch. Rooms could use a facelift, sofas and rugs need some replacing.

This is the only hotel we stay at in Calgary...it feels like a home away from home. It is in such a convenient location, with so many restaurants and shops close by - big shout out to Mikey's on 12th with the best tacos I have ever had (and I've eaten a lot of tacos all over the world) and great live music (and beer) to boot (we look forward to going there every time we are in town). Everyone is so friendly and helpful at the hotel. Although this is an older hotel (and we normally stay at newer 4 star properties) they have the cleanest rooms that I have ever stayed in (I would literally eat off the floor). Oh, and the free coffee at breakfast is actually good.

Easy to get to and close to a lot of different restaurants. Spacious rooms with excellent wifi and water pressure for showering! Staff was helpful, friendly and good sense of humor! Overall the complimentary breakfast was good and Overall stay was good as well! When we go back to Calgary we will stay at this Best Western again!

Location was great with secure heated underground parking so I didn't have to worry about warming up the car or clearing the snow off the car as morning downtown traffic is always heavy so it was easy to get to my destination with ease.

Was welcomed to this hotel with a $30 extra charge for early check in to a room that was %100 already available. So so so disapointing. when you travel with a group, with kids etc and you need to get changed for a swim meet, need to prepare for a meeting etc and get charged extra for a room that is booked, is yours, is cleaned and ready, but just a chance for bw to make more money off you or your family i have to say its very unwelcoming, very disapointing.

Check in and check out was smooth with friendly staff. Parking: Booking the room direct from hotel website provided complimentary parking, underground, secured, heated. Room: was clean, beds were comfortable. Our room included a mini bar fridge, stove top burners, microwave, sink and basic kitchen amenities. Great if staying a long period and want to save on eating out. Only downfall is that the heat/ac unit is loud, I slept with ear plugs and I was fine. Hot Breakfast: had a nice variety, waffles, çereal, yogurt, toast, muffins, omelet, hashbrowns, sausage, juice, coffee Location: Great walking location to the Beltline with great restaurants, and the downtown core. A pizza place and circle k are across the road.

As a Diamond Best Western Member, I would love to be upgraded when possible especially considering there were only about ten vehicles in the parking lot when I arrived late in the evening. I have stayed at this property many times before and had great experience but this time I got the worst room I stayed in for a while. It was dated, even the sheets were old and torn in some places. I know there are better rooms at this hotel. This room is not up to Best Western standards. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful.

The property is in a great location for downtown restaurants and amenities. It was well maintained and secure. The parking was well lit and appeared safe and monitored. Our room had a small kitchenette. The breakfast was good with a selection of hot and cold offerings. Most importantly, the beds were comfortable.

This was my first trip to Calgary. I have looked into Airbnb options and other stay alternatives. I ended up choosing Best Western because of it's location and it's previous reviews. This hotel offered everything I required for my 4 day trip. I had amenities, access to transportation, and privacy. The service was impeccable and overall I felt safe and looked after.

My friend and I from Ontario decided to take a trip out west for the first time. We stumbled across this hotel during our search. I've stayed at best westerns many times before so we booked and I could not be happier. The staff were so kind and helpful. Check in was very quick. Hotel and room were very clean. I felt safe despite COVID. They had complimentary breakfast which I was SO happy about. The price was great for 2 females in their 20s travelling. Location was great. Overall, if you're looking for somewhere to stay on a budget, this is your hotel!

Not too far from 17st where all the bars and restaurants are situated. However I found the room quite dated and very noisy with the road traffic and police sirens. The bed was comfy but the bathroom was outdated and seemed to me to accommodate people who hadn't been vaccinated, which left me feeling unsafe.

This latest stay of another four nights, was even better than before. Our two bedroom suite this time, had a more open décor. The kitchen was perfect for managing "order in" food. The two bedrooms, perfect, one with a comfy king, the other a nice queen. Twas even, decently quiet of road noise on the 12th floor. Front desk manned by polite, professional and friendly gentlemen. I especially liked Antenen, knowledgeable and amiable. Our last stay in March, we had to endure the dreaded bag breakfast, this time the fully, cooked buffet was back for vaccinated guests, as they go, it was bang on. The coffee was delicious. Great parking, included, if booked through BW. Near most everything.

This hotel had really nice rooms. The front desk attendant was so friendly and pleasant to deal with. There is a parking lot, which is always great! The only complaint I have is that the elevator just stopped working. It came down twice, full of people and then never came back. I stood and waited for about 10 minutes and that was super frustrating.

We enjoyed a 1 bedroom suite with kitchenette and were well satisfied with the experience. An undocumented feature of the hotel is their location. It was within easy walking distance to downtown and the entertainment district. Sweet.

This hotel was nice clean and great space in the room. A block from a main street full of restos and stores which made it very convenient. The views of the city were nice as well. A bonus was the great full breakfast provided free each morning.

First time in 21 months that I have stayed in a hotel. Stayed nearly 2 weeks Excellent location and very friendly staff. Buffet breakfast with cereals, eggs, meat, potatoes, yogurt, fruit, toast, jelly, cream cheese, bagels, toast, and beverages included. Due to Covid, I had "Do Not Disturb" sign posted on my door. However, room was cleaned and supplies replenished whenever I requested which was great. The hotel is located within the Calgary Beltline and as such very near to 17th Avenue where all the action is.

I am not one to review hotels as they usually have sufficient reviews already but I felt I should share my experience here. We had originally booked into a different location and ended up switching to the Downtown Suites location. Evidentially that might have been a mistake… to start this hotel doesn't feel like it is in a great part of town… there were several people loitering outside when we arrived. The lobby was misleading because it has obviously been renovated and looks quite nice. The rooms however are quite dated… now this usually wouldn't bother me at all, but the room was far from clean. The silverware in the kitchenette was dirty, there was hair all over the bathroom floor, the shower curtain had chunks of soap on it, the bed sheets looked very old and were stained and the office chair in the room was covered in something and had to be cleaned before we could use it. To be fair we did not complain to the front desk as we arrived late and were leaving early so they weren't able to do anything to make it right.

It is not the worst hotel but not my favorite either. The room is spacious but very dated. There is something desired to be do cleaning too. (found a long hair in a bathtub). I slept ok but AC is loud....not for light sleepers. The location is good. 17th ave. is a couple of min walk away. The downtown core is walking distance. (5-30 min depends on where you want to go). The breakfast is limited but convenient especially if you leave early joining tour etc.

The hotel was not the best; nor, was it the worst I have stayed at. Th hotel was close to 17th. The lobby and breakfast area were renovated. The breakfast was very limited because of the pandemic and needs more options. The rooms and hallways need a lot of work. I would look elsewhere before staying here.

The hotel is well located downtown Calgary, to be honest for the price it is ok. So depending on the kind of vacation you are looking for , if the person wants to enjoy the hotel , this is not a good choice , but if it is just to sleep and eat so it is a good qualitry for the price. My only problem , was that I stayed there 5 days , and no one during the 5 days came to clean-up my room or change the towels . I have never experienced that in a hotel before , it was very disappointed. For the breakfast , it was ok , but dont expect a lot a choices , it was very limited. Otherwise , the staff was very friendly , and the room was big enough.

Staff was great…hotel not as much :/ the room was very dark and not very clean. Also very un dated. The rooms could definetly be updated to this day and ages style and it would make the rooms look so much nicer!! Overall not a bad experience.

Can't complain. Got the room for $75/night on a limited time deal. But, you would expect that as a paying customer, things should work. And things should be clean. When we checked in, our room fridge door will not close because of the excessive ice build up in the freezer box. There was dried snot on the shower curtain, the toilet paper roll holder broke off the wall and our safe did not work. Staff was amazing at addressing these issues ( except for the snot, I just had to clean that up myself. Never reported it). At the end of the day, I was comfortable and reminded myself that I am paying $75/night.

We've been making this Best Western our base for our annual road trips to Calgary. It was always a wee bit “scruffy”, but the marvellous location (for our needs) more than made up for any missteps. The place always did the job satisfactorily. I'm having a hard time listing any hard negatives. There is an overall tone of one too many corners have been cut. A few too many little cost-saving measures. One solid example would be the included breakfast buffet. Formerly the spread was simple and plain, but quite acceptable food. A nice little perk with the room price. On this trip, though, the never abundant selection has been halved. And what is there is really weak. (Picture bacon super saturated with steam to become limp, vaguely pink in colour, and pretty much tasteless). I'm not sure where in the chain of command the blame lies. All the staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful. All I can say is the location factor is no longer overbalancing the pros and cons. A teeter-totter balance now exists. Hard decisions will be have to made next trip.

Me and my family due to some unforseen circumstances, foound ourselves at this beauatiful Hotel. We had been going through some tough times and my 65 birthday was a day away. The manager Abhi, helped my son get the most amazing gift available, The Jacuzzi Room. All the Staff here are so amazing. Since this covid stuff they were not allowed to clean while your staying, but they let me use any of there own supplies since i was here for a while. the gm and the manager as well ass pretty much every single staff touched my families heart and will be remembered forever

Our 2 Queen room was bright and spacious: room itself, kitchenette and bathroom. Very good lighting all over. Good and quiet A/C, great wifi. Tucked away convenient kitchenette with pretty much everything you need in order to make a simple meal. Comfy beds. Simple, clean and comfortable. Excellent location within walking distance to many downtown attractions and restaurants. Convenient parking with plenty of spaces. We booked directly on Best Western website and the rate was better than offered by Expedia PLUS parking was included if booked direct ($20 saving right there!). Considering Covid restrictions we appreciated included breakfast to go (egg sandwich, granola bar, apple, juice box and bottle of water). We would definitely stay here again - fantastic value for the price paid!

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Breakfast option was surprisingly good, for grab and go. Room was clean, the underground parking option was nice. Great location, within walking distance to so many restaurant options.

Me and my family came here out of necessity due to our house having sewer backup. The 4 of us which included 2 mentally handicapped adults, had just that day had a funeral for my 35 year old brother and came home to being totally inundated with sewer. The staff here helped us so much. The manager Abhi was so compassionate. They didn't need our business, this is a beautiful Hotel in the heart of downtown Calgary, not to mention it was almost Stampede week meaning they were fully booked. But Abhi and the GM George worked us into 2 suites so each handicapped person would have there own room. How they did it, we will never know because we sure didn't have the money on hand. Thanks for everything

Overall it was a pleasant stay. There were some changes due to covid like no breakfast buffet so they give you a togo bag, the breakfast muffin is frozen so you will need to heat it before leaving your room. I had to go down to get extra shampoo and conditioner since they didnt have staff to deliver. I also requested a playpen for my stay but there was none in my room when i arrived.

I went to Calgary for a quick getaway. The front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating. The room was spotless and well appointed. Parking was great. I could park in the parking lot outside or underground. The location was great. I will return!

Went with my family, chose the hotel because it offered two bedroom suites and breakfast. Hotel is very old. We did not receive any housekeeping the entire trip. Breakfast was grab/go and the same each day.

Stayed here one night in July 2021. The hotel lobby looks decent but the outside of the hotel is drab and outdated. The rooms are also very outdated with yellow wallpaper, red couch, blue carpeting. The hallway looks like it came out of a 1980s horror movie. Room was clean enough and spacious but the layout was awkward. Our room was on the 8th floor nearest the fire escape. The neighborhood this hotel is in looks poorer and sketchier but nothing crazy. Location is good as it's relatively close to downtown. Free parking in the hotel lot. Beware the vending machines though. I got a can of Coke that was expired from Feb 2020. The night auditor reception guy was very friendly and helpful though and refunded me the cost of the pop when I brought it up to him. The pop was ice cold which would have been nice. No free sit down breakfast due to COVID. Only grab and go. Kinda disappointing since i just came from the Banff Siding 29 Lodge and they had free sit down breakfast offered.

0/5 I booked a two bedroom suite for four people for tomorrow (July 8th) until Sunday. This morning I found out the hotel staff changed my reservation to a king room for two people without my authorization and are fully booked so can't change the room back to what I booked. Now two people have no accommodation for the stampede weekend. Really terrible customer service, did not offer to put us up in a similar two bedroom suite elsewhere. Hotel manager was extremely unhelpful and did not provide any options. Avoid booking here!

Major cleanliness issues include, mold beside ac unit. Counter visibly dirty. Couch cushions dirty. No sheets on the pull out couch. Balcony door unusable, but not sealed. Below ground parking darn near unusable(super tight spacing). Above ground parking is insecure. Among tons of other issues.

In the past 6 years I have visited Calgary 2-3 times a year. And I'm so very impressed with the consistently pleasant experience at this downtown best western hotel. Kudos to the manager- Abi (or Abhi?), very knowledgeable guy of latest nearby/happenings in the area. Rooms are always very affordable and convenient downtown location.

We've stayed at a lot of Best Western though the years and since the rebranding (partenarship with SureStay) we were a bit reluctant... But the Best Western Calgary Downtown was just amazing. There is not a lot to do in Calgary Downtown, but it was a great stay.

Clean rooms with kitchenette. Affordable. Secure parking available. Not too far from the hustle and bustle of downtown core. Perfect for families on a budget. Breakfast was decent as well. Newly renovated lobby.

Have stayed at this hotel a lot over the past year and the staff here goes above and beyond! The hotel is very nice, rooms are very clean and comfortable! The bagged breakfast they provide during this pandemic is great. Great location! Close to a lot of nice parks, store and restaurants. Abhinav who works at the front desk is amazing! He is always so friendly and eager to help out in anyway he can! Definitely recommend this hotel.

Overall it was a good stay. The room was clean, the traffic was loud all though so at times it was tough to sleep we were on the 3 floor. I do very much like the unground parking. I will be back in the future

Huge shout out to the fellas at the Front Desk. They were amazing!!! Very pleasant and professional. Although the hotel looks quite rough on the outside, the interior is OK. It is an older hotel that has not been renovated in quite some time so everthing is dated. My suite had everything in it that was supposed to be there for a kitchenette. Bed, bedding, and pillows were OK. Again, the room was quite dark and furntiture older, but in decent shape.

Overall our stay was great. The room was clean and everything worked great. Maybe a little dated thought. We did have an issue with the elevator one time which we did not report. For some reason it would not go beyond the 14th floor! We finally had to take the stairs. Also, when we arrived there was a man and woman outside that was in some distress and before we even had a chance to check in the Police had arrived and said they had received a 911 call. We understand that this in no way is the hotel's fault but it did make us wonder if we had made the correct choice in booking at this Hotel. The staff was super friendly and helpful, I would give them a 10/10. A bagged breakfast was provided (due to Covid no regular breakfast), I did not partake but my brother who stayed a night did and said it was the standard mass produced breakfast sandwich. Overall our stay was very good and I would stay there again for sure! Thank you!

My wife and I stayed for six nights, early March. We booked a two bedroom unit and were very happy with the space and price. We understood the hotel to be older and allowed for some minor age issues. We booked with the hotel, I absolutely abhor paying for parking in a hotel I have already payed for, this along with the $25 credits I hope to receive soon, inspired me to not use Expedia. Check in was smooth, and seamless, during our stay we found the gentlemen at front desk .... knowledgeable, polite and courteous. There are of course covid stringencies, but nothing over the top, more common sense. Much is the pity though, the good buffet breakfast is unavailable and replaced with the brown bag, unreasonable facsimile. Yes edible, but only just. The egg muffin, once removed from the microwave becomes a soft, spongy, gooey memory of it's former frozen self. But! until Dairy Queen finally gets with the program and opens for breakfast, that's it, in walking distance. So we, being somewhat parsimonious, made do with it. Upon booking I had requested a Keurig coffer machine, knowing full that would be denied. I knew before hand of the abject limitations and problems with the awful thing provided. (Note to hotel: We normally, when booking hotels eschew a place without a Keurig, but location, location being a primary factor had to settle for yesterday's coffee machine, with all the mess, drips and resulting poor brews ensuing.) Off course, for those who have won the lottery, there is a coffee shop across the street. The beds were comfortable, bathroom, some minor plumbing issues notwithstanding, did the job. Kitchen was quite well stocked, could have done with a convection toaster oven, would have rendered the muffins, ..... probably, quite palatable. Room was clean and had a newer carpet. Parking was fine, I chose not to venture underground, outside was safe, and easy to access. As said, great location, many eating options nearby. The only real thing I found distasteful was the balcony's locked out, looks like it's been that way for years, that with the fact, one shouldn't need opening windows because so much therapeutic and revitalizing fresh air could flood in via the balcony door.! NOT! The windows on the other side of the hotel, without balcony's do open. We will stay again, and! bring our own coffee machine this time. As said, the location is perfect for us, our daughter living in Sunalta.

Hotel is close to lots of businesses, though nothing is the same due to the pandemic. Staff are helpful and friendly. Easy to walk to trails,17th Ave district, and downtown. Hotel is an older one, but everything works OK; it is just not fancy.

checking in is very easy, lots of rooms, bagged breakfast in the morning, close to Safeway if you want groceries, also close to 17th Ave, lots of restaurants are still open, great for walking around and shopping, and then a quick hop on bus to dt Calgary or walk, lots of shops still open with the pandemic, JUST WEAR YOUR MASK, AND BE SAFE!! this hotel is central i stay here all the time, great staff and great room, air conditioning draws fresh air from the outside so no more recycled air. you also feel safe here very important, ppl just can't wonder in and out , you need a key card to get in!! they take the pandemic serious and so shld you, I wld stay there again! thanks guys see you again!

Great location and great value! Super affordable, clean rooms and friendly staff. Close to local shops pubs restaurants. No need to have a vehicle. Secure building , free accessible parking and Wi-Fi!

The biggest two items that put this above our expectations was no additional parking charge for the hotel and it's right downtown close to everything. Also as my wife is not a fan of elevators we had the option to use their stairwell to get to and from room and stairwell was well lit and clean. Security was great as well with only acces through key or buzzing.

Needed a mini-staycation badly. Was greeted warmly by the gentleman at the front desk, who also upgraded my room! Thank you VERY much! Secure underground parking is fantastic too. The suite was spotless when we entered as well.

Due to the pandemic, I expected not so much as for housekeeping and breakfast. Overall experience was the room was cleaned and sanitized. Furniture is outdated but the beds were clean and nothing to worry about. There was only 1 working elevator but no concern on social distancing. Economical stay and clean. My family enjoyed our stay and would book this again. Great for kids and central area with shops close by. Night time is a bit sketchy but its downtown so I suggest driving instead of walking but the area is very nice and pleasant to check out, lots of sightseeing areas.

Our room was a King Executive Suite. The parking indoors in a secure underground spot in downtown Calgary was a huge plus. The lobby was our first glimpse of the interior of this hotel - it was immaculately clean, modern, and welcoming . Rohan - was the employee we booked our suite with over the phone, and also greeted us when we arrived. He was professional, courteous, and went out of his way to help us. We were both amazed at how clean the room was. I am really picky about hotel rooms, and this was by far the cleanest hotel room we have stayed in. The bathroom had been completely modernized, with sparkling white modern sink, and it looked to be a newer bath/shower. Luved the water pressure combined with excellent showerhead. The bed was very comfortable, and the best part of the room was wall to wall windows on one side. Usually in the rooms, there is one small - medium window. This window gave us a wonderful view. I had to laugh when one reviewer had a problem with the rates for the rooms, expecting a 'full breakfast' during covid. Really?? Their rates have been adjusted for all rooms because they of course can't serve meals during this time. Yes, the exterior of the building isn't real modern, and the hallways are a little dingy. Don't let that turn you off - everything else is really quite amazing, especially for the price, in this part of town. We will certainly stay here each and every time we come to calgary.

Best western suites downtown calgary has been the most amazing hotel to stay at. they make you feel at home, comfortable, safe, and go above and beyond to make sure all your needs are met, especially through these trying times..... they truly go above and beyond. I Strongly recommend this hotel to everyone. Amid travel restrictions, limited breakfast, check in time delay at front desk we recollect amazing staff of front desk and room servicing. Among all Rohan at front desk was simply awesome!!! He was very attentive and caring to us during our stay. Looked after my parents by arranging cab when it was raining hailstorm in calgary. We were waiting for a cab for 1 hr. He even offered a drop in his car at night after his shift was closing. We have not yet seen this level of customer service and trust so far.. Cheers to the team..

Great customer service, rooms were clean and the grab & go breakfast is a great idea. Safe security entrance in the hotel. Don't book from a 3rd party, book directly on their website for the same price and get free oarking.

In the middle of COVID 19 we were a little worried about staying in a hotel. No worries here! The reception was cleaned after each person. At check in my card was even disinfected after being returned to me. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was nice having a small kitchenette. Centrally locates too! We really enjoyed our stay!!

Clean, attractive decor, good customer service. Only issue were quality of internet, and no gluten or dairy free options for breakfast. But this is unusual so put it down the Covid restrictions. Great location too.

Saying there is Free parking is false advertising. If we'd known it would cost an extra $20 to park the car we would have found somewhere else. Nothing the receptionist could do about it apparently...

Friendly, professional staff. Rooms are very clean, comfortable fresh bedding. Location is amazing! Great little coffee shop across the street. One block from Urban Fair, great place to pick up a meal. Walking distance to whatever your needs or hop on a LIME scooter and check out the river valley. Love this place

After 4 months of COVID all they can offer is a apple and juice box for "FULL BREAKFAST" My small business would be embarrassed if we were this poor. There is no excuse not act like a Hotel and not just use COVID to save money.

The modernization of the Lobby and main is complete and looks amazing. The staff is very professional and friendly, always ready to assist you with any request. Would recommend staying with this hotel while in Calgary.

Was great comfy and accomidating. It was clean and quiet. They had a great ambiance. They also helped us with a discount as we didn't have the correct amount so we had a reduced security deposit! All around great service!!

The gentlemand who checked us in on the evening of Sunday the 24th was incredible and I want him to know he is a great man. He was very respdctful, kind and went above and beyond trying to search for benadryl for my son who had an allergic reaction. However the gentleman working the following morning was the complete opposite. Emotionless. Had zero social skills. I watched him at check out treat a First Nations woman and her partner completely different than my family was treated. We are white. We had a good experience until that point and we will never go back. My children were so upset watching someone being discriminated against right infront of their eyes. Train your staff on cultural awareness and appropriation!

Since the minute we walked through the door the the minute we left this hotel and it's amazing staff exceeded all of our expectations. The night auditors were all so nice and the young lady in the morning was such a gem. We will be back!!!

One of the better hotels we have been to for a while . Our rooms had a small kitchenette so you could stay a while and keep your costs down . A short walk to the Tower etc is quite well located . The breakfast was good and the staff even lent us a brush to get the snow off our car .

The stay was wonderful, the check in staff were really nice. I did make a special request regarding my room when I was booking it and it was already set up for me. I checked out in person and the staff was really friendly and efficient so that I can get on with my day quickly. The room itself was very clean and and the view from the window was very nice. I travel frequently and I find that this chain is generally very good and in this case that also applied.

Nice convenient location with great service. Clean and spacious room. Parking is free of charge if you make a booking directly with them(free parking in downtown is quite attractive). Provided breakfast was also good. Do recommend this hotel

Stayed for one night for a business meeting. The temperature had dropped to around -20C, and the room in the hotel was freezing. One would think that a Calgary hotel would be built for that sort of weather, but the room heating couldn't keep up. Aside from that, the room was nicely laid out and comfortably furnished. The reception staff were very helpful, and the WiFi was actually fast. I'd recommend staying there, just not on a freezing cold night.

My service from the front desk, breakfast area and mainteance were great. The front desk helped with any concerns. Breakfast person made you feel like you were in a fine dinning establishment when you went down for the compliment breakfast. Mainteance was quick to help where possible.

Ignoring how noisy (from traffic) this location is, and the price per night, I would have appreciated a breakfast that was warm, or even hot ... skipping the day-old block of oatmeal. Better Options In Area..

The room was a very good size and comfortable bed. The breakfast was the best on our trip by far. It is walking distance to downtown Calgary. The heated underground parking was welcomed because of the cold Calgary was experiencing. We enjoyed our stay and will always stay here when in Calgary.

Lobby was so attractive. Room was out dated but the view from room was eye catching. Also, they didn't have soft pillows so i slept without pillow. The most lovable part was breakfast- really good. Staff was friendly.

Great location you can walk to everything you need. Drug stores, grocery stores, shopping every store under the sun. So many chooses to eat fr fast food to fancy. New Canadian tire store with a grocery store underneath it! Buffet and bar if u wish to relax while your shopping. Oh yes Timmy Hortons near by also

My wife and I come to Calgary several times a year to visit friends and family. We find the Best Western to be a great value and in a good location so we tend to stay there. The rooms are of a good size, are clean and the staff is friendly.

good location for the business I needed to do. Was not far from the hospital I needed to go too. rooms were large well laid out good bathroom and a place to cook if you required this. bed was big and comfortable.security for the parking lot over night was great

A very comfortable hotel in downtown Calgary. Well equipped gym which we used both days of our stay. Well maintained equipment. We had a one bedroom and it was super comfortable to spend time around in between activities. Highly recommend.

This Best Western is at the perfect location in Calgary. Two blocks from the 17th Ave district and six blocks from the c-train( which will take you anywhere quickly and economically. The dining options within walking distance are exceptional.

Great value! Thanks for allowing us to use the underground parking, at no charge. King bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was small and dated but even so, still great value. We were impressed with the buildings security! We will stay here again. Thanks.

I booked a room to attend the Grey Cup. The hotel was in a good location. It was within walking distance of all the downtown festivities and the C train which took you to the football stadium. The breakfast was good and considering this was a party weekend the hotel was very quiet. Deepac at the front desk was very helpful. They also have a shuttle to the airport. The rooms are large suites with a separate bedroom

We spent three nights here, while I was on course in Calgary. The room was spacious, had lots of amenities, and was nicely updated. in our room, they were trying a new toilet seat, that was heated and had a bidet. Although leery about it at first, it was a fantastic surprise. The light on the seat made it easy to navigate getting up to the washroom in the dark, and the heated seat was actually a nice surprise

Stay was wonderful service was really good by Anteneh and Deepak at the reception desk. Rooms are in need of updating hopefully this happen however we still enjoyed our visit in the downtown calgary we would come back in future!

We booked a room at this hotel for an overnight stay prior to an early-morning medical appointment with my elderly father. It was perfect for our needs - two bedrooms with one king and one queen bed, which were amazingly comfortable. The staff were very accommodating and attentive, there were great eating establishments nearby, and the location was excellent for our appointment just to the west on 17th Avenue. We will definitely stay again!

Stay overall was good, clean room, courteous staff. Check in and out was quick and parking in the underground parking lot was nice. Breakfast in the morning was good overall and breakfast area was clean.

I booked this hotel for a quick business trip but didn't end up staying the night. This hotel is in a bad area, is dirty and has a bad smell. I wouldn't recommend it. The staff, however, were friendly.

Stayed for one night, hotel seems to be renovated since I last came there excellent service by Deepak at the front desk it was late at night and didn't want to run cross the street to purchase a bottle water so he had gave me one from the front desk thank you very much to everyone.

Front desk representative was very good in making sure that we feel at home in the hotel. He provided info on directions in the hotel (first time to be in this location). Knowing that I was a platinum member, he offered an upgrade without me asking for it.

We had a very late arrival and the staff was cheerful and pleasant. It was such a long day of travel and when we arrived they upgraded us to a two bedroom apartment style room. We had a full size refrigerator, dining area and a lovely view out the large picture window. Temperature controls in each bedroom so everyone could be comfortable. The room was very clean and the furniture was comfortable. Housekeeping did a nice job as well. Breakfast was served each morning and there was a big selection. A hot egg dish with meat side, oatmeal, bagels, muffins, and a waffle maker. There is a high top seating area where you can enjoy breakfast and watch the morning commuters walk by or you can sit at a table and watch the news. There were attendants keeping everything fresh and tidy. The hotel was close to the Calgary Tower, Saddledome, Safeway, and Tim Horton's We didn't have a car but there is a parking area if you did drive and Uber was always nearby if you need a ride. The staff was so friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay again!!

Stayed two nights at this hotel. Great location down town, and very comfortable accommodations. The room was spacious and well appointed, with the added benefit of a kitchenette. Easy free parking was a bonus in this city, and safety/security was appreciated. You used your room card for entry to everything - including the elevators and breakfast restaurant. The free breakfast was very good, with two very attentive staff who kept everything clean and warm. The front desk staff called several times to check on service and needs. Good job by all.

I am not a huge fan of Best Westerns but they are budget friendly and include breakfast. Not a huge fan because their general non room lighting is like being in Walmart. This BW was very nicely done out and the room cleaners were invisible. Noise levels for the most part were good, I was in a corner room over a 7 day period and on average it was quiet. The room was comfortable and in good condition and having a suite is less cramped so for a 7 day stretch that made it seem more homey. The location is great for Downtown Calgary, you can walk or Uber to any restaurants or shopping in under 10 - 20 minutes. I would stay again.

The reception team were nice but the wifi connectivity was poor over my 2 night stay. Breakfast was okay except fr the rotten, black banana's and the diced fruit which also had better days. I also suggest the breakfast support team members wear their hair tied back so to prevent it from coming in to contact with the food.

Visited for the hockey. Hotel has good parking and is easily accessible to Dt area. Room was clean and the bed super comfortable. Very reasonably priced as well. We would definitely recommend this hotel

We stayed at the Best Western Suites downtown for a business meeting, I was extremely nervous about being downtown as we are from the country. But AL the maintenance manager was amazing he went above and beyond to make me feel right at home it's nice to see that these people still exist. Thanks AL for being who you are we will definitely stay again and recommend this place in the future!! I would also like to also say thanks the rest of the staff at this hotel as well, not sure all of there names but all staff that were on the days we stayed were extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. Stayed here on a busy weekend. Turned out to be a Country Music star performing nearby. Great location, easy to get to Centre and river. We hired an electric scooter on the Lime scheme. Room was ok but a little tired. We were charged to park the car - outdoors, free hobo provided to beg for money on your return! Breakfast was ok but very busy, the staff seemed unable to clean up so there was generally food and rubbish everywhere. Overall the hotel was ok for the price and location but could be better. Expect to wait for the elevator, for some reason they are very slow.

Despite the strong effort to market their care for the cleaning and the freshness of the rooms, the result is poor and inefficient. Bad smell all over the place, dust everywhere, the impression is of a shabby hotel, living on the echos of what (maybe) was upon a time in the past. Not a second chance.

Great find in the heart of Calgary with free parking and an incredible free breakfast. Very comfortable room with a small kitchen with fridge,microwave, and hot plate. Staff was very friendly and receptive to questions.

This is easily one of the best values for a downtown Calgary stay as it's close to the 17th Ave retail shops along with the business district in the city centre. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable and the complementary hot breakfast is certainly the highlight of my stay with delicious offerings that change each morning The only drawback is the extra cost for parking however Calgary is renown for this and actually at $20/day it's probably still a cheaper option compared to other parking options. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again on my next visit to the city

We stayed in Calgary for a couple of days and found the staff, especially the front desk and Alan Franks, very helpful and tried everything to help us with our trip. The shuttle and bag storage was incredibly useful.

This hotel was in an ideal location for my conference with a very pleasent 20 minute walk through Calgary downtown. I was given a free upgrade to my room whihc I enjoyed emensly. The service was very friendly and polite but not intrusive. Parking was easy and very convenient I would definitely recommend this hotel

The staff were what made this such a nice place to stay. The reception staff in particular were so helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Right down to one of the receptionists, who was obviously off duty and on her way home, who came over to us on the street to let us know that a message had been left for us at the desk. Thanks to Sienna for helping us deal with a mix up in our travel company pre payment of our stay. We were assisted in how to use the trains to get around and finally at 4:30 am staff were standing at reception ready to book us out and call us a taxi to get to the airport. Breakfast was a nice way to start the day with a good selection of food.

I picked this place because of the downtown location and it was a Best Western. The price was reasonable, comfortable bed, very clean, friendly staff. There was a kitchenette but we didn't use this feature because it was basically an overnight stay but would be great if you planned on a longer stay.

This hotel has excellent location. Right in Downtown Calgary. You can walk to nice restaurants, coffee shops,bars and clubs. Also walking distance to the mall . The entrance is not big and the lobby is small as well. The staff are friendly and check in was easy. Breakfast is included and it is sufficient. The room is comfortably sized. The bathroom also is just right. The beds are comfortable, the pillows are nice and fluffy. There is a coffee maker in the room. It is very clean. It is quiet. The air con works very well, I like to keep my room cool. There is a large flat screen tv. Very good value. I will stay here again.

We went to Calgary for a family trip. This hotel was clean, was in a good location, and the staff were very friendly. The layout of our room was very good and the beds were very comfortable. There was free parking as we booked with the hotel directly. Would recommend!

The rooms themselves are good , spacious and the location is close Enough to the city and convenience stores. Bathroom was tight but manageable and the kitchen was good. We found the service to be ordinary. We had a 3 night stay and no internet 1 day , issues with the lift as well. Underground parking is good. Breakfast room was terrible. We arrived at 9 and by that time bins are overflowing, Tables not cleaned , food is not replenished and the remaining food left uncovered. The female looking after it spent the whole time watching a show on her phone and had no interest. Also no point wearing gloves to handle food if you don't take them off to play on your phone.

We stayed overnight in Calgary and wanted a reasonably priced hotel close to downtown. Cienna at reception was efficient and very helpful. When we wanted a place close by for dinner she pointed us in the right direction and the next morning asked how our evening was. If you are booking more than one room ask at time of booking that they are at least on the same floor. My 85 year old uncle ended up 12 floors away from us. Book through the hotel so you get free parking. Breakfast was OK for a hotel chain free breakfast

This is a very good hotel if you are looking to stay in downtown Calgary. Walking distance to grocery stores, coffee shops, restaurants, business towers, pubs, Room size was fairly big and not very many per floor so it's a smaller property. Bathrooms are on the smaller size though, but the rooms are clean and that's all that matters to me. Overall, I'd stay here again and recommend to other people as well.

Location is perfect. Breakfast was typical choices. Staff friendly and helpful. The water pressure was horrible - I couldn't shower because there wasn't enough pressure to wash my hair! (Never experienced that before). I wouldn't stay here again because of this.

We traveled to Calgary, Banff and Jasper, staying at various hotels along the way. Without a doubt this Best Western was our best stay. We're sorry we didn't book it for our few days that we were in Calgary at the beginning of our stay. It's conveniently located downtown within walking distance to many of the thing we wanted to see and do. The hotel staff we super friendly and helpful with any of our requests. We had a suite room because we were traveling with our adult daughter, so the sleeping arrangements were perfect. We each had control of the temperature in our own rooms and the beds were super comfortable. We had a large living area as well were we could spread out and relax. Truly, this was the best night of our extended stay in Canada. Don't let the older appearance on the outside fool you, this is a wonderful place on the inside.

This hotel is decent, is being renovated and has a decent location to downtown. Parking is great, lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. It's a great value and would be my go to hotel if it was closer to downtown.

This hotel offers full suites for the rate of some rooms...and you get breakfast. You are within walking distance of many great restaurants and shops. The fact there is free parking in a city...bonus!

Family of 5 with kids under 8. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. PROS: The location is amazing, right downtown, easy to find and free parking was awesome. Grocery stores, liquor stores, restaurants all within walking distance. The staff was friendly and the place was spotless. Check in and check out were very fast and easy. Breakfast in the morning was a FULL breakfast; sausage, eggs, fruit, cereal, waffles, hashbrowns, bagels, toast, English muffins, oatmeal. Basically anything you want buffet style. The full kitchen in the suite was so great! We made our own pizzas with the kids, there is a dining room table and the kitchen was well stocked. CONS: Water pressure was insane and the shower actual hurt our skin lol. Pretty intense. But nice big tub for bathing kids. The beds are very soft so if that is something you don't like, maybe don't stay here. It bothered my husband's back and I found it not very comfortable. The beds are also VERY high, so if you have little kids sleeping in them, it's a bit treacherous. Also, maybe don't bank on using the sofa bed, you can feel the springs easily with just your hands, so sleeping on it is not fun and the street noise in the living room is bad because the patio doors offer zero sound proofing. All in all the value of this hotel was great. I felt like for $200 having an apartment size suite with full kitchen and free breakfast was pretty fantastic. If you are traveling on a budget and aren't too picky this is a great place.

Came to Calgary for our anniversary trip. We are from Montana,so this was an experience for us. And after long days of exploring, it was nice to come back to our comfortable room to relax. And the water pressure was great, which is a big thing for me. When most hotels go green, that usually means horrible showers, not this trip. The breakfast was good, and not the same everyday. The security was also very top notch. Overall, very nice stay.

We've stayed at the Best Western Plus Suites Downtown (wow that's a mouthful) so many times that it feels like home. It's a very comfortable hotel in a vibrant neighbourhood with lots of great shopping and restaurants that are all walking distance. As a converted apartment building, the rooms aren't really your typical hotel fare, which is a bonus for us. The full kitchens available in many units are functional and an economical alternative to eating out all the time, especially with Safeway two short blocks away. Staff is friendly and courteous, and the lobby looks very nice after their renovation earlier this year.

I came to Calgary for business and decided to stay an extra day and take my family to the zoo so I booked an extra nite. I made a point of booking through Best Westerns site to take advantage of the free parking that's only available if you book directly with the hotel or through Best Western's site. I also took advantage of Best Westerns, 'Special Request option when I booked as this is primarily a business hotel and there is little to nothing on-site for kids. I have 2 girls (5,7) so I asked if it was possible to have some small treat bag (crayons etc) for them in the room. As I was busy with the business portion of my trip my wife and 2 kids checked in without me. Right off the bat they were charged parking ($20) as the front desk person was adamant we booked our stay on a 3rd party travel site. My wife paid it as they gave her no other option and she didn't know for sure how I booked the room. Also according to the front clerk there was no record of my special request... so nothing for the girls. I arrived later in the evening after business and had a chat with the front desk. I explained that I booked my room through Best Western's website 3 weeks previous, even going so far as sending the guy my booking confirmation email through Best Western. I told the clerk that I also called the hotel directly after booking to make sure I was not charged parking. I also mentioned my, 'Special Request', which he claims there is no record of... so, neither were honored at this hotel. The guy made a point of telling me that in order to receive free parking I had to book online with Best Western's website... really... After my stay was over I contacted Best Western.com and they are at a loss as to why the hotel thought I booked through a 3rd party site and are also at a loss as to why they could not see my special request. I think it would have gone a lot better if the desk person would have listened to me while I explained how I booked and where. The response from the desk guy after all of it was, 'Next time book through Best Westerns site or call the hotel directly...'. Wow, he really didn't listen to anything I told him. As I was determined to get my parking charge refunded they eventually did refund it... but I really don't want to go back to this hotel.... ever.

Rooms require updating, especially for the price. Great location and very friendly staff. Bad cleaning though, lazy. Our beds were slept in upon check in and just made, hair everywhere - GROSS! otherwise, the hotel is clean

We went during the Stampede so prices were high fir a BW, but more reasonable than others. A great location though, close to 17th Avenue and all the shops. Several nice restaurants just a few steps away. A 30 minute walk to the Saddledome or a $10 checker cab ride.

Old .. very old and smells like grandma's house. Stay further from downtown and drive to downtown. They had parking. Plus. Beds were good. Plus. Just very old and run down for the downtown price. Spend another 50$ for nice downtown or stay for less outside down town and it will be better

i have stayed here several times over the past year, and every time the experience is the same. Knowledgable staff, lots of parking, nice rooms and a great location. The proximity to restaurants and stores is great, especially in winter. this is always my first choice in Calgary.

We've stayed here several times and are never disappointed. Staff treats us very well each time. Love the location easy walk to 17th Avenue. Will definitely book there again. Suites are nice and practical. Nice to have separate area from bedroom.

Stayed here for 3 nights to see the Stampede, which was only a 20 min walk from the hotel, 45 min walk to downtown. Nice friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, big rooms, great location, good facilities and good value.

good hotel great staff nice stay. we pulled in at 2:30 am with a trailer and truck no parking for us but staff and security went out of their way to help us. we enjoy the Jacuzzi tub and our over all stay was great. they let us stay longer which was amazing so we could sleep. great hotel just not a lot of parking

This Best Western Hotel is located in downtown Calgary. Not exactly in the nicest area but it was safe enough to walk to and from the local restaurants and bars. The room was very roomy served us well for the three days there. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of different options. Underground parking was a bonus in case of occasional Calgary hailstorm passing through. Fitness room was small but adequate and the laundry room was an added bonus.

First day in Calgary and after having long journey from Europe, It was really fine when we entered the room, big space with a sofa, kitchenette, coffee maker with real mugs and clean room. The desk was really good for working with your computer. We stayed a couple nights in this hotel. A very good breakfast, not only sweet ones but also fruits and warm and completely with chili sauce. Cool waffel, with BW logo on it. Good service, parking place (free), friendly staff and very good location. Walking distance to the city centre and surrounded by cafes, restaurants, spa and grocery store. Sure will be back in our next visit

Excellent service upon arrival and during stay, Hotel a little outdated but overall clean and in good condition. Breakfast included which was a bonus, Menu limited but otherwise good, Location near downtown and shopping.

Really pleasantly surprised by our stay Here. Huge room with two Queen beds, lovely little kitchen area for hot drinks and light cooking. Microwave, hob, and fridge. Etc. All spotless, very comfortable bed, extra friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast included. Good value and only 7 minutes walk to access transport to get all over town.

We have stayed at many Best Western Plus hotels during our travels and have never been as disappointed as we were when we arrived at this location. The person working the front desk explained that it was an old apartment building that had been converted to a hotel and that was the feeling throughout our stay...date hallways, stale smelling room and very basic uninviting lobby. We will not book this hotel for future visits to Calgary.

For a business person, the Best Western Suites in Downtown is ideally situated (within walking distance of the downtown core and also 17Ave where there is a lot of nightlife. While my stay was not a long one, I prefer a suite where I can cook in the hotel and buy a few groceries. The bed and pillows were top notch (the most important part of any hotel room). The room was very clean (except for the exterior side of the windows which need a good spring cleaning. The other feature of this hotel that I liked was the secure underground parking. Breakfast was great.

This location has been under renovations for some time. Customer service always was excellent. Close to all my downtown core meetings so I don't have to take a cab. Lots of restaurants and amenities near by, including a grocery store for those who want to cook in the room. The staff are very friendly and always greet you with a smile and always remember returning guests despite how many people they regularly see.

Good Hotel and good staff. Mr Deepak and his colleague Pragya were helpful during our stay and made sure that we feeling comfortable. Rooms are out of touch and are in need of upgrading rooms are still kept well but it would be nice to have something newer modern. we would come back in future stays in Calgary.

Checked in late night gentlemen was nice we had a great conversation rooms was clean hotel looks newly renovated breakfast was good didn't use the fitness centre but it was a short stay I would stay again if I returned to Calgary.

My brother stayed at this hotel in Doral and the service was extremely good I only visit for one day and I'm not one to write reviews but I had to put this in writing especially the young lady in reception by the name of Destiny Service was very attentive . We spent a Sunday night here on a quick buying trip. The hotel was as advertised, very clean and comfortable with an outstanding receptionist. The breakfast was as good as any I've had ar any Best Westerns but the coffee was lacking flavour.

The Best Western hosted me and my 2 daughter for 2 days in April. The location for this property is excellent. There is lots of places to get food in the area . The bedrooms were incredible in size and comfort. We had a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchenette. The cost was very competitive with any other chain out there. I would recommend this property for any one seeking value in downtown Calgary.

This hotel is awesome, very clean, beds are comfortable,great continental breakfast and the staff is amazing. Whenever we have anything in downtown Calgary this is our choice. There is also underground parking so absolutely fantastic in winter months. Very secure.

Stayed here night before i had to go for a meeting morning time was a short stay but hotel did everything it was asked, provided a comfy stay, fast wifi, clean room, good shower, and nice free breakfast! front desk staff was gentleman at night polite and parking was sufficient and under ground parking, thanks for letting me leave the luggage for the day, everything was perfect

Great place to stay at near the downtown core yet far from the loud noise of downtown traffic. The hotel is within walking distance to many stores, restaurants and coffee shops. I had the 2 bedroom suit which had a big sitting area, eat-in and big kitchenette. There was renovation going on in the main lobby but Was not a big deal. I am sure it will look great once it's done.

We stopped here with the kid night before a flight. Water slides were a huge hit - seems they are more generous letting kids slide down big slides. Room was big and clean. Staff were all very friendly. I'd go back.

As the caption states, the rooms are great - very spacious and well designed. However, the property was under renovation and I believe they could have done a better job at doing up the entrance. We arrived at night and the place looked rundown, with tapes everywhere and the Uber driver was actually worried to drop us off there! It looked quite dingy. Once we got to the room, we were in a happy place, but I still think the first impression could stand to be improved. Also, as the place was under renovation, there was a very limited supply at breakfast with no hot food. This was a disappointment and I believe should have been mentioned at the time of booking. Other than that, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. We've had great conversations with everyone. I believe it will be a much livelier place once they are done with the renovation.

My room was super clean (neat) I loved staying there and to be honest they exceeded my expectations. It's a great place to stay for sure. Thank you thank you thank you for the best stay and for having me.

I would recommend to stay here, the service is great, rooms are lovely and we always have a great stay. The lobby is under renovations however did not affect our stay, they do have underground parking and it is easy to get too. Staff are very nice checked in late night the man working at desk was wonderful and I have never had any issues.

We arrived at the hotel and they we're in the midst of renovations, the staff are handling this gracefully. We were greeted by the most helpful young man Anteneh (hope I spelled it correctly). He was welcoming and extremely helpful. We especially appreciated the call up to the room to see if our accommodations were to our liking. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, though dated, but they are working on that. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again, renovations and all!

There are extensive renos being done on the lobby area which took me by surprise when I walked in. However everyday they are making great progress and it will look amazing once done. The staff are friendly, the rooms are comfy , the standard rooms are your typical room , The jacuzzi suites are very nice and spacious with a balcony .. Location is great you're not very far from pubs foods or downtown . Thank you I will return and look forward to seeing the lobby completed.

The hotel was nice and clean lobby under renovations, staff are friendly, we booked last moment at night. It provided good value for the stay. I didn't try their breakfast service but rooms are very kept clean and nice it is comparable to other hotels in the area. i will come back hopefully renovations are done in April.

Stayed thetr during our family trip to Calgary. We were informed about Renovations in the lobby however still took us a while to get used to lobby surroundings which are in final stages of renovation.. as they say. Last year I had a great breakfast on main floor. They moved it down since breakfast hall is under renovation. Couple of hot items ( Chedder egg..my Fav :-)) is missing..but overall they took care of me. Old lady in breakfast room was very good. She helped us out and suggested places to go.. Also sales guy (Roman) was very attentive and met us during our breakfast time which changed our view about this hotel for really positive. He enrolled me for rewards as well. Overall great place and will visit again

Always stay when using the BMO Centre. Appreciate the man setting up breakfast in the morning on Feb 1 letting us grab something as we have to leave early for meeting the free breakfast .Hotel is very quiet so I always get a good sleep. Never tried the sauna looks good but I never used it. I value this very much good service from hotel. And will always be looking for this feature at other hotels looking forward once the renovations are done.

Rooms are well kept beds was comfort sleep no problems first time at this best western. All the staff were efficient and caring. The bathroom and shower were great! I loved the quiet, homey and the room also views from top of room.

We had booked just a basic King room, and upon arrival the front desk offered us a free upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite which we accepted happily! King and a Queen bed - both incredibly comfy. Full sized kitchen, small dine and lounge area. We had a wonderful time! Only criticism would be the size of the couch - suite to sleep 4 but seating for 3. Staff were all very friendly. Breakfast was decent - its included so I can't complain. Would definitely recommend.

we checked in after one in the morning gentleman was very helpful and nice the room with the suite is best i loved it there is renovations going on lobby however it did not affect our stay we would be back in the future.

Our room was excellent, as it was Christmas there were not to many people. We stayed because we had stayed once before and were very pleased with this hotel. It has smoking & non smoking rooms. The breakfast is truly amazing, and the staff even opened up the kitchen so I cold have a snack before bedtime. We smoke and so were very pleased to be accommodated in this nice hotel. Many hotels don't have smoking and are missing out on a big % of the baby boomers who have the money to do these little trips and also smoke. Staff thr is just so friendly & nice.

We booked Best Western Suites as a last minute place to stay. We got a great deal and gorgeous room! We were a bit apprehensive at first because the lobby is torn up and is currently being renovated. The staff were very apologetic, accommodating and super friendly! We were very pleased when the check in host met us in the underground parking with a luggage trolly and helped to guide us through the chaos. We were given a room on the top floor with an amazing view of downtown Calgary! The room had a large double bed, a pull out couch and a kitchenette. The bathroom was large and the water pressure was fantastic! Best Western typically offers a hot breakfast buffet but it was changed to continental breakfast because they were relocated to a conference room in the basement. There is a 24 hour Circle K convenience store and gas station across the street and a Tim Hortons 1 block up. There are many restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommended this hotel.

Despite construction, I have never had any problems with this hotel and it's staff. There was construction noise this time around but that was to be expected. I had minimal wifi issues.Always a good experience.

Under what can only be described as challenging and difficult, this hotel is undergoing renovations at the lobby level. Front desk staff were still incredibly cheerful, full of service and management should be taking note that putting plastic across areas exposed to the outdoors is possible and in fact, not doing so is pretty mean to staff. Every night, construction should be walling off the outdoors to at least offer some protection. Management and construction management could do better. But..still...I arrived very late, was very tired, staff were extremely accommodating and professional and I have nothing but good to say. (Ps..no construction noise, but then..it is New Year's Day)....Bravo!!!

Most of the time we stay at best western this location good if your staying in downtown it has free parking room rates are ok hotel has construction going on currently but it did not effect our stay we will come back after renovations are done looking forward thanks.

Booked 3 suites (all 2 bedrooms) for 10 of us family members going to the flames game. Our suite #'s were: 401, 501 & 440. Bed bugs were found in suite 440 & we immediately checked out of all 3 of the suites we had booked at approx 2:00 am in the morning. The front desk refused to refund me my money & it took us getting angry with them to process the transactions. This is a very basic hotel with NO amenities & very dated...if you're looking for an old hotel with “motel” style accommodations, then you'll be okay. If you're looking for at least 3 stars, I would NOT recommend this hotel. I should have known when I walked in the extremely small lobby area & they said the “cold breakfast” in the morning was located in the basement....true story! I was finally refunded my money back onto my credit card & my advise is please stay away.

not sure what the beds were made of but it was the worst sleep I have ever had in my life! I've stayed at other best westerns before and have never had an issue. my 6'5 husband ended up sleeping on the chair cause the bed was too hard. there were no other rooms available so we were stuck.

Nicely located in Downtown Calgary with parking on site (at an extra charge). Decent sized room with exceptionally comfortable beds. There were some great modern touches like having USB ports and power outlets on the bedside table; but that all seemed at odds with the very dated decor (lots of dark wood, brownish-coloured wall paper etc.). Decor aside, some other elements that let this place down are the terrible pressure in the shower and the woeful breakfast. All this said, if I were in downtown Calgary again, I'd certainly consider staying here again

Wonderful staff. Gentleman at night was friendly fast check in they go out of their way for customer service. Slightly older rooms but in great care and like I said, very welcoming environment. Breakfast is really good. free coffee in the room also free parking is good in downtown. I always feel lucky when I have work in Calgary to do because I get to stay in a 'suite' type hotel room.

The room was clean and more than what I expected in size as well as amenities. Every staff member I encountered was courteous, helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were great. Great location and easy to get to. Best Western is my go-to for any stay where I need or want all the comforts.

Rooms-no suites at a really good standard. Within 5 minutes car travel to airport. Arrived a little early for check in. Receptionist told us how to locate a local shopping mall, too waste some time. Called Crossed Irons Mall. What bargains, after weighing cases and still got kgs to spare popped back after tea to go again, more bargains:-) Breakfast aok

Hotel was great, friendly staff and a great experience. Parking was no issue, and and its free.Breakfast was included, many restaurants within walking distance great time. They have started renovations to the hotel now it does not interfere with hotel everyday operation.I will be back!

Stayed here for 4 nights in Oct.The staff is very friendly and were very helpful. As rewards members we were very lucky and got upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite.. So nice. Love Best Western for this..Close to restsaurants for dinner too. U can walk to the FREE downtown train. Nice breakfast too

Stayed here on an impromptu trip to Calgary. The location is great, right downtown and a close walk to food and shopping. The parking is also free, which is a bonus. They're doing some renovations on the hotel, but it wasn't noisy or inconvenient at all. The room had a nice view of downtown and was very cozy and comfortable. It was really nice to have a little kitchenette as well - that's not something I've seen often in properties of this caliber. There's was super comfortable and there were absolutely no complaints. I would definitely stay here if I were in town again.

this hotel was close to where i needed to be for a meeting and close to some good restaurants.taxi service to and from the hotel was timely - read that to mean no waiting time.it was a quiet hotel, and the room was comfortable, especially the bed!!i would stay again.

The hotel was quite old but the room was so clean. I was impressed with the kitchen and its amenities. Breakfast was good and the staff was accommodating. The location was accessible to stores and restaurants which made it easy for us to find what we needed to eat.

The Best Western Plus Suites Downtown is a good option if you're travelling by car as it has free parking. The Standard 2 Queens room had a kitchenette with a fridge and microwave, HD TV and free Wi-Fi but no safe. The complimentary breakfast was very good with plenty of options including eggs, bacon/sausage, cereal, bread, waffles and fruit. It's about a 20 minute walk to Calgary Tower and downtown.

An option for the more budget conscious traveller to downtown Calgary. It is within easy walking distance of most restaurants and shops. There is underground parking available and free of charge for the first vehicle. The rooms are pretty good and I stayed in room 720 and this one had a kitchenette. Beds are comfortable. The room ergonomics were a bit odd with the beds looking straight into the bathroom. They offer a free hot breakfast which included sausage, eggs, beans, and waffles. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.

Nice large comfortable room. While a little dated it was still pretty decent and for the most part quiet. The hotel has some facilities sauna, gym room and laundry and all were working and looked maintained. I would definitely recommend using the safe in your room. Despite leaving a notice on our door not to enter our room, the hotel service staff entered anyway and we returned to our room to find stuff moved around. I'm still waiting for the hotel manager to contact me but don't hold much hope out for that.

We stayed here for two nights originally with a 1 bedroom suite, and were upgraded to a 2 bedroom over a small issue. Suite was great, the hotel is older but that's a plus when it comes to insulation. It's very quiet between rooms/halls. The staff is very helpful and the location is great with a short 2 blocks away from a Safeway grocery and liquor store. The breakfast was OK, but it's a different selection each day. Stick to bacon and eggs each day as some of the other choices weren't good. Tip: You can park underground with your card key to keep out of the weather.

The Best Western Plus does not look like much from the outside; however, it offered a clean and spacious room with comfortable beds, equipped with a kitchenette. The hotel felt safe and was close walking distance to the downtown core and many great restaurants. The breakfast was average, but I always enjoy a convenient and free option! I would likely stay again for the location and free parking.

Usually stay here when i'm in town. Always friendly staff and clean rooms. Elevator is super slow and sound carries easily room to room but otherwise good hotel for a short stay. Breakfast is what you would expect for the room cost. I'll be back.

Good hotel to stay at for Calgary events. The suites are very spacious and the 2 bedrooms are great for a family trip. Easy walking distance to downtown events and a very short drive or c train ride to the Zoo.

Good, tidy and clean apartment in a fairly central location of Calgary. We stayed there to go to the Stampede and the location was a 15 minute walk away which made it very accessible. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

We spent 3 days at the Best Western hotel suite in Calgary . Moshin Maknojia was very helpful as well as the other staff. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The breakfast provided was varied and well cooked with excellent service. The staff were very polite and helpful.Great location if you're in Calgary, really close to everything. This hotel can be thoroughly recommended.

We stayed for 4 nights during the stampede and found the hotel to be excellent. The rooms are a good size with a little kitchenette area which has tea and coffee , a fridge and microwave. Beds were comfortable and clean. Bathroom has shower over the bath but plenty of towels and room for everything. Breakfast is excellent with change of hot menu each day, nice fruit and yoghurt as well as waffles and pancakes. They cater for those of us requiring gluten free by offering gluten free toast etc. Hotel is near a big supermarket and lots of restaurants and cafes as well as interesting little shops. About 8 blocks to the light rail but an easy walk. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is an older property but well maintained and offers good value for money. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

We stayed here during the stampede. It's close to 17th ave where there are lots Of great restaurants. The room was very nice , great comfy beds , kitchenette , plug-ins for chargjng electronics. Breakfast was included, it had a basic selection the hot food changed daily and waffles you could make to order. Friendly staff, laundry facilities , free parking a gym make this a great place to base yourself.

For the price - I wasn't surprised - it was a bit dark and dirty. The place feels like an old apartment building converted into suites. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. Air conditioners were loud and the furniture was mismatched in our room, and very outdated. Only thing that was new was the carpet, but walls and ceiling were dark and could use a massive new paint job. We tried to figure out what part of the city this hotel was in, and we felt safe most of the time - though pretty tight security which made us wonder. The elevator floors were dirty, and all this place really needs is some new paint and upgrades. We did not eat breakfast there. There is a starbucks about a 5 minute walk down the street and a euro cafe across the street that plays loud music from a speaker that you can hear on the 12th floor. shady characters were hanging out in the parking lot but harmless nonetheless. took an uber to downtown - about 20 minute walk. Day before Canada Day - downtown was empty. not much going on. We would not stay here again due to lack of cleanliness and overall outdated. We didn't feel like it was a nice place to stay. just average at best and needs some capital improvements. I can see why tourbuses and teams would stay here - to keep prices down, but you get what you pay for.

I spent a weekend with my daughter attending a conference at the Stampede grounds and we stayed at the hotel for the night. It is an easy 30 min walk so the location is great. The staff was helpful in suggesting restaurants in the area and the free parking and breakfast are also a bonus.

Stayed at this hotel in Calgary's Beltine for its affordability and convenient location while fixing broken pipe damage in our apartment. The suite turned out to be spacious and clean, the staff friendly and the complimentary breakfast proved to be substantial enough. It more than satisfactorily covered all our needs. As a bonus, it was right across Kawa Espresso Bar, a third wave coffee house with a superb craft beer selection.

First time staying at this hotel and initially was going to chose a higher end property however I was so glad we chose the BW. It was so convenient for us in every sense. We were meeting 2 other couples and we so happy to recieve an upgrade to a suite which allowed us to entertain our friends. Also, the free parking behind the property made it so convenient for all of us to come and go without any additional expense. The breakfast was fairly typical but covered all basics and as I enjoy my eggs the omelettes were just fine. The property was very clean and well maintained. Front desk staff was really nice and friendly. I actually loved this hotel and would definitely stay again when in Calgary. Good job and thank you!

Stayed here for a few days while and business. Rooms are decent size and come with a mini-fridge and kitchenette (and plates, utensils, one pot and one frying pan). They have on-site parking (both above ground for the larger SUVs and underground) included in the price. It's about a 15 min walk to the downtown area. There are restaurants located walking distance from the hotel.

I was pretty apprehensive if I had chosen a good hotel to spend a night in Calgary as the building itself looks really old and dated. Upon entry to the lobby, it was not impressive. However, when I got to my room, I was so pleased with the room. The room was spacious for 4 of us as it even has a tiny kitchenette that was quite well equipped in my view. It has a portable stove that allows cooking, beside microwave, coffee machine etc. The room was clean and toilet of good size and water pressure. Recommend for good value find.

This hotel is close to everything. You can walk everywhere. Good breakfast. Underground free parking. Rooms are upgraded. Nice staff. My room was very clean. Each room has a kitchenette. Comfortable beds.

Been staying here whenever I'm in Calgary for the past 3 years. Great location and priced right. Close to all major amenities, restaurants, bars, arts, unique one of a kind shops that are best seen walking within a few blocks of the hotel.

The location is good for downtown Calgary and don't be put off by the slightly shabby exterior and side streets. We had a large standard room with 2 large queen beds. The small kitchen area was great for doing tea/coffee and using the fridge to keep water cool etc. It was very clean and the beds were particularly comfortable. Breakfast was a limited self serve buffet and all the plates, cutlery, mugs etc are paper or cardboard so it not great if you think about the waste of resources every day. The worst thing about this stay? The rooms are extremely hot and stuffy and although there is air con it is not efficient and very noisy so a goods nights sleep can be difficult. Would we use it again...probably not.

The hotel is clean. We had a nice room with a king-size bed and a little area for cooking, including a microwave, if we wanted to.....we did not. Breakfast was okay; the selection was not great, but it was enough. The woman helping in the breakfast room was very nice. Check-in and check-out were easy. Shazia, at the front desk, is pleasasnt and helpful. It was rather cold when we arrived and the heating in the room was not working properly. We called downstairs and Shazia took care of it right away. The maintenance people were up in our room in about three minutes.....that was excellent. Izzy Savari fixed it right away; he is professional and competent, plus he's very friendly and personable.

Convenient, clean, simple and fairly priced, what more could you want? It is located in area of downtown without a lot of hotel options so I was more than happy to find out that it was also a great choice!

The hotel is clean, comfortable and with great amenities. It is located close to down town businesses as well as the C-Train if you have to get to another part of the down town core. Staff was very polite and my stay was very nice. I was well rested for business in the morning.

Second time here but we were very satisfied now. Staff is very helpful and friendly, housekeeping is professional. Good location, restaurants and grocery store are very close. Good wifi and trade mills in the gym. I like they provide a lot of towels and everything is clean. The one bedroom suite is very comfortable for two and very light. I will return if again in Calgary.

Nice big rooms with kitchenette facilities and comfortable king bed. Big Safeway 2 blocks in one direction and dozens and dozens of shops and restaurants in the other. Awesome FRIENDLY staff. Just what I was looking for on this first visit to the city. AND a great hot buffet every morning included in the price and well worth it.

I stayed here the other week for one night. Everything was very good. Checkin and service was good the room was clean, spacious and the bed was excellent. It was close to downtown and good value. All around a happy night

This Hotel is we'll maintained, Clean & with lots of amenities. The staff is very friendly, respectful & helpful. The breakfast area is clean & most pleasant also breakfast items very good. The room was very comfortable with a good selection of TV channels during our down time.

The location of this property is fantastic. Walking distance to grocery store, MEC, banks, and a lovely Cafe across the street with fantastic coffee. Close to Eau Clair market and the Bow River-princess Island walkway. The rooms are very clean and in great shape. The little kitchenette is great with microwave and small fridge. Nice to be in an area with lots of young folks, walking and biking around. The bed and pillows are very comfy. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

We stayed here for 2 nights before heading off to Banff. The room was a decent size with 2 queen beds and a kitchenette. The gentlemen at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Check in was seamless. The room was clean and beds were really comfy. Pillows were good quality (better than the Hilton we stayed at the bright before). The water pressure in the shower was amazing and towels nice and fluffy. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good and was well stocked and fresh. There was ample parking available. In relation to location I did lose my bearings a little as we drove everywhere so not sure whereabouts attractions are if you don't have a car. There were quite a few restaurants nearby to eat.

Here for five nights and there were no flaws in my mind. Great location for food, shopping and being downtown. Rooms were tidy and spacious, breakfast had more than the basic options and the parking was free. No complaints at all.

If you want flash, glitter and pomp this hotel is not for you. It is a good solid hotel with great staff and large rooms. Their rates are reasonable and the location is close to a range of eateries and a short walk to downtown. There is ample parking.

Both myself and my friend stayed here in previous years, for extended periods of time. We both have been impressed by the hotel in the past however this trip has changed our opinions. From Front Desk staff trying to use my credit cards tap feature without consent, only once it failed to work, turned the machine and asked for my pin. The room was ok, beds are obviously worn, feeling of uncomfortable mattresses. The gross part of this hotel was the excessive amount of long black hairs scattered throughout the bathroom, sink, tub, and on the bed. Neither of us have long black hair so we knew this wasn't ours. Although this hotel used to be recommended by me, I'm afraid that moving forward it will no long be a destination I choose to stay at.

Stayed at BW+ for 5 nights for a business trip. Location was great, lots of little food places to eat around (walking distance), room was clean and roomy. Loved that I had a mini fridge, a sink and dishes as well as a microwave! Complimentary breakfast does the job. Being lactose intolerant I mostly had toasts and hard boiled eggs but for those who don't have dietary restrictions you have enough options (yogourt, fruits, menu of the day for hot food, pourage, waffles...) I also rented the Calgary room for a two day meeting / training session. Room was clean, accessible, water was provided and it was perfect for our needs. Service has been nothing but perfect. Staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are big and clean, and meeting room also. Thanks for another good stay.

We only stayed the one night, and although tired looking, was all we needed. Beds were large and comfortable, and the rooms clean. Breakfast was included and a reasonable variety was on offer. Free wifi was also available.

Love the location and parking for this property. The rooms are clean and the staff are helpful. A couple of improvements would be to upgrade the keyless system for elevators and rooms. Having to insert the card for the elevators is slow and cumbersome. Another improvement would be the breakfast. I typically find the food to be barely tolerable and end up going across the street for breakfast instead.

The room was very spacious. Very clean. The bed was so comfortable had an amazing sleep. The staff are all very friendly and very willing to help. The breakfast is a 4/5. Underground parking is very secure

I can't find any reason to not give this facility 5 out of 5. Yes, the building is a bit dated, but this is being addressed. The rooms are very clean and being updated. The staff here are outstanding! I have stayed at this hotel over 40 night in the past year. It is always the same fantastic staff, and they all appear happy and engaged in their positions. I've always been accommodated, whether planning in advance or last minute booking. Great breakfast room, great location, parking (surface or underground), staff, I can't say enough about this hotel.

I find the staff at the front desk start to make this a great stay. They are always so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and I enjoy having a little kitchenette to prepare a light snack, if need be.

We got a upper floor corner room, nice views of the skyline. They have a underground secure parking garage. We walked where ever we went from this location. Free breakfast, quite a bit close by to do.

Great location in the beltline. We stayed in a one bedroom suite. It was nice to have the room but there were many issues. The decor is very dated and the furniture etc. is not in good condition. The closet doors didn't work, the dresser looked like it was crudely made out of plywood and one drawer didn't work, the tv in the bedroom didn't work, the rug is old and ugly. Also the heaters were offensively loud. Now to some positives. The free breakfast was decent and included so-so hot items, cereal, juices, yogurt, pastries and muffins and fruit. Most of the staff was excellent. The checkin desk fellow was a bit rude at first — didn't acknowledge us at all —not even by eye contact as he served someone else and then spent 10 minutes with a customer on the phone while we were waiting. The workout room was good. The bed linens were very nice -crisp, white cotton but the towels were scratchy. The parking was convenient. Updating the rooms would make us return. I understand the king suites have been renovated but the one bedroom suites have not. As they are we felt like we were destitute college kids living in a cheap rental. I received a survey from Best Western and completed it with similar comments and the manager responded and seemed to genuinely want my return business and listened to my concerns. That says to me that this property is in good hands.

Location is good and well connected to other places. Near to core downtown and 17th avenue. View is great. Clean, quiet and well maintained. Very friendly, supportive staff with constantly quality service. Rooms are beautiful, spacious and well maintained. Good facilities like complimentary breakfast, fitness center, sauna, printers. In the suits, kitchen is filled with all necessary stuffs. I highly recommend staying here.

I stayed in this hotel for one night on February 6, 2018. Front desk staff: Very professional and courteous. Check-in was a breeze. Parking: Complimentary to guests. Ample parking above ground and under-ground. Location: Right in downtown. Convenient to a nice Vietnamese restaurant and Safeway grocery. Room: Got an upgrade to an Executive Suite with separate kitchen/living room and bedroom. It is a very spacious room with all the conveniences of a small apartment. Nice and clean. Very good sound-proofing. I could not hear my neighbors or the elevator which is just next to my room. Bed: Firm. I use a medium firm mattress at home and I found the mattress in this hotel firm. I had difficulty sleeping. I told the front-desk about it upon check-out and he said he'll send housekeeping to check it out. I found his response amusing. So, housekeeping has a way to make it soft? Breakfast: What I like about the complimentary breakfast is its variety. In the elevator and hallways, they have the breakfast menu with selections that vary day to day. Adequate choices of dry, cold, hot breakfasts items including waffles (DIY), bread/pastries, juices, milk, and other beverages.

Definitely reccomend to anyone visiting Calgary. Steps to 17th ave where all the restaurants and bars are! Staff were very helpful and caring and the room was modern and very clean. Underground parking was a great adition!

Got a great deal on 2 nights here, very good value. Large suite with great bed, downtown views, very central, room old decor but very clean and functional. Very friendly staff, breakfast & car park included in price. 100% recommend.

Best location for amenities and easy access to the downtown area. Breakfast has lots of variety and the food that I chose was delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful. They provided me with directions to get to places and gave me a map of Calgary to take with me.

I had the best experience with this hotel. Staff was very nice and helpful, room was spacious and clean. Wi-fi worked perfectly withing the whole hotel. Breakfast was really rich - waffles, fruits, yogurt, pastry, omelets, sausage and more. Great location - approx. 10 minutes walk to C-train station and 17th Avenue in opposite direction. Free parking.

Check in was fast and easy. They had clean spacious rooms. Great front desk service.The playpen that was brought up for our child was clean and in good condition. Highly recommend this hotel for a family quick stay.

Stayed for 1 night in October for business. Location is great, easy in and out parking. Restaurants nearby. Breakfast was good, the regular free hotel breakfast - but enough you should be able to find something you like. Front desk staff was very friendly. Business Centre was well stocked and easy to use, no wait to get to a computer or printer for a couple things I needed. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice beds. The hallways, paint and wallpaper could use a little refresher in my opinion. It's dark reds and oranges and dark blues, gives it a bit of a dated feel. Overall great stay

We went to Calgary for the weekend with friends and were attending an event at the BMO Centre. Location of this hotel was key. Service was outstanding at every interaction. We were upgraded at check in due to our BW status. Room was clean and well laid out. Breakfast was very good both days we were there. Would definitely come back.

The staff ensured we got an upgrade because of my Platinum Best Western card and it made out stay very pleasant. The rooms were superb and the breakfast was one of the best at a hotel. Highly recommend this hotel because they went out of their way to make our stay memorable.

Receptionist was rude, lied to us and was not ready to address the plumbing issues we had. Bad amenities and odour in the room. My husband and I use BW quite a lot but had a very terrible experience with this one

Everything was great for an awesome price! Got a great price for downtown hotel in Calgary on a weekend. The beds were very comfortable and the free breakfast was just perfect for us. It was nice that the breakfast was served until 11:00 am on the weekend.

'Meh' would be the way to describe this hotel in one word. Front desk staff is mostly efficient, not all too friendly. Rooms and the rest of the hotel are a bit dated but fairly clean, breakfast is ok but nothing special, location is so so (just a bit too far to walk to downtown), parking is free though. Parking lot unfortunately is not free of sometimes a bit shady characters that hang around the area, asking for change and/or cigarettes. Ask for a room at the back of the hotel, the ones facing 8th Street can be quite noisy due to traffic and, apparently, poor soundproofing. Walls seem to be paper thin as well, you could hear very clearly the neighbors taking a shower. WiFi in the room was super spotty and slow. All in all just barely ok, provided you can get a room at a cheap rate.

Good location, the decoration of the rooms is too old must be updated, the cleaning of the room must be improved.Also there is not attention to details from the personal in general, which is bad due to the importance of the brand they are representing.

After driving through bad roads because of snow, we were greeted by the front desk staff with a smile and after a bit of conversation, we were upgraded to a king bed room with a good view of the city and a kitchen. Wifi was good. Underground heated parking was free, which none of the other downtown hotels offered. Full hot breakfast was also included. We had sausage links, ham omelette, hash browns, and waffles. There was also coffee, tea, milk, juices, bread, and fruits. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will surely be back the next time we're visiting Calgary.

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times and love the location close to 17th ave., MEC, etc. The free parking for the first vehicle is great so we basically park and walk everywhere unless we have to venture out of the downtown core. Rooms are spacious with kitchenettes (Sink, fridge, hot plate and a few dishes etc). It is quiet and temperature control is very easy from the wall thermostats.

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Plus in downtown Calgary. We had an executive, king room. Our room had many amenities and the bed was wonderful. I would highly recommend this hotel for the quality of service, level of organization, and friendliness of the staff. We found our room good value for the money we paid. We would definitely return again.

Very good location, good amenities, excellent hotel staff! Very good overall experience. Only challenge was the internet but it seemed they are upgrading and so the issue was excusable. The staffs Avinav and Shazia were the special treat of the stay, real customer service attitudes.

Along with a very clean and comfortable hotel, the location to all the excitement of Calgary was perfect. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a great warm buffet. Beds and linens were very nice. Bathroom has been updated.

I was happily surprised at the quality of service I received while staying at the West Western Plus Suites Downtown. They answered all my question and offered assistance whenever required. They were more than happy to call for Cabs so I could get around the city more efficiently and even provided the number to the Cab service so I could use them for my return trip. I was surprised at the cleanliness of the room I stayed in and how they cleaned it daily while I was out without disturbing my items. I would happily stay there again.

This is a very comfortable hotel. The location is excellent for business in the city centre and for shopping/dining on 17th Ave. We were on the twelfth floor and the view was incredible. The front desk staff were very helpful, considerate and accommodating. Extremely good value for the cost. Note that you may need to ask for a renovated room as they have not all been renovated.

We had to find a hotel quickly in Calgary as we had a very dire medical emergency to contend with - we booked over the phone from Edmonton and got an excellent rate and when we arrived found the hotel clean, the person at the desk remembered our situation and was most helpful. The rooms,) we had booked two as we were also travelling with an infant and the parents, was clean, well appointed and had everything we needed. Breakfast was free with the room and had lots of choices. We got an excellent rate - the hotel is central and I can't speak highly enough of the professional, and great customer service we received,.

Last Saturday (December 2) was my second time staying at the BW downtown location and I always receive excellent customer service. The location was very convenient, rooms I stayed at were clean and spacious. Breakfast was good, all the staff I met were great. The lady (I am sorry I am bad with names, I forgot her name but she is working evening shifts every time I checked in, I hope you could mention her name) was very nice and accommodating to my requests. She was very friendly and was always smiling. When I checked out it was a male front desk and he was nice as well. Housekeeping staff were all friendly. I have booked all the weekend of December that I will be in Calgary in this hotel.

Nice staff good location. The rooms are a little bit old but spacious and comfortable. The restaurant has average food but just next to the hotel there is a lovely Sushi restaurant. The hotel has enough parking lots and the Express Check Out did work very well.

The downtown location is great and the price is very reasonable. Excellent service. The rooms are very well equipped and make a 3 day stay easy. Breakfast is similar to other hotels that offer complimentary breakfasts. Would stay here again for sure.

I usually try to stay at more luxurious hotels, but since this one is across the street from our office, our staff tends to stay here. The place is always very clean and tidy. Everything works as it should. The room is large and comfortable. My only concern is that as a light sleeper, I find the AC to be really loud. I actually turn it right off when going to bed. This is the only thing that I don't care for about this place. The staff are always extremely friendly, professional and accommodating. I feel we get excellent value when we stay here.

This is a great hotel in downtown Calgary. Staff is very friendly, their breakfast (included) is amazing. There is a Safeway, Starbucks, various pubs and mec in walking distance from this location. They have parking onsite which is included as well.

This is a pretty dismal-looking hotel. The hallways in particular look like something from Twin Peaks. But its location is excellent, the rooms are large and clean, and the breakfast included is extremely impressive (e.g., different eggs, meats, and fruit each day; waffles, hot and cold cereal, etc.) It was also extremely quiet despite being downtown. Bonus points also for the attention to environmental consciousness, such as composting in the breakfast room and recycling in each hotel room. Too bad they don't have the option of not having your towels changed or room made up. I'd stay here again when in Calgary. Price was very reasonable.

Excellent location. Very near to Offices and amenities in Downtown. Great Service and a very friendly staff. Rooms are spacious and clean. Had a mini kitchenette attached which is very helpful if you do not want to eat out, or just want to brew some tea. Other standard facilities available. Highly recommended.

From check in to check out my stay was great. An older hotel but started renovating the rooms are enormous clean and spotless, with great staff every day, always smiling and friendly. Everything was ready for my stay and very organized. The food is amazing with the normal breakfast with a large fruit selection. small gym with mainly cardio, Safeway is 1 block away, Starbucks, many others, within walking distant Many different food choices outside the hotel and a short drive to just about all of the downtown. I would without hesitation stay here again.

We were very impressed with the room and how clean and spacious it was. The rooms do show their age a bit but the suite was very well kept. The hotel was quiet and we all got a good night's sleep on the comfortable beds. The breakfast area was large and had a great variety of breakfast foods. Everything was clean and stocked. Friendly staff. Highly recommend. Everyone in the family said that we should stay here again!

Stayed at this hotel on a Friday & Saturday night in late July. The price was one of the most affordable accommodations during our month in Canada (which included a lot of hostels). The quality was very good, we were in an executive king room which had a kitchenette which was a nice bonus, especially as there is a Safeway very close by. Included breakfast had a good variety, although staff were a little slow at replenishing plates, cutlery etc. Location might be a bit far from the city centre for some, but Calgary is easy to navigate and very walkable. Highly recommended, would 100% stay again.

We picked this hotel because it was right down town and within walking distance of the places we were visiting while there. It is a great Best Western property and very typical of the chain. Our room was clean and comfortable. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom. The room had a great kitchen and table and chairs. Livingroom and 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom. . We never used the kitchen only to make coffee but if we had wanted to there were no dishes in it other than 4 glasses and 4 coffee cups. Some utensils were supplied. (not sure why) It had a full size dishwasher, stove refridgerator and microwave. Breakfast was plentiful and with a good selection of hot and cold.

Visiting Calgary for an Oct. wedding, we had the pleasure of staying @ this Best Western for 3 nights. Initially, I was worried about the booking. We had booked a month in advance, 2 rooms, at a group rate. When I called a week before our road trip to Calgary to confirm, somehow our reservation had been mixed up and 2 of the 3 nights booked had been cancelled! I was NOT impressed at that point. A message was left w/the manager to call me back, which he did not do! After another call, the problem was rectified and our rooms secured. Our rooms were spacious and clean, though some upgrades could be done and the bathroom vents cleaned (lots of dust there). The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast lounge was well kept. The food was tasty and there was a good selection, including a waffle maker. The location of this Best Western was excellent. There was also ample free parking. Due to the booking problems, and the poor communication among front desk booking staff & management, I cannot bring myself to give an excellent or even very good review for service. To top it off, at checkout, we received someone else bill receipt.

located within 4 minutes of the hip 18th street restaurants and shops, athe hotel is also just 15 minutes by foot to the traditional down town core of Stephen's Walk area and Calgary's one great, green park, Prince's Island. The free morning full hot buffet has something for everyone, and the mini-kitchen that comes with most rooms allows you to take advantage of the nearby Safeway supermarket, Domino's pizza, etc. For drivers, the 24/7 gas station a block away is a bonus as gas stations are rare downtown., Finally, the guest coin laundromat in the basement:: 3 washers and 3 dryers was also a life saver.

Finding value, quality, comfort and a full list of available services can be difficult but The Best Western Plus Suites in Calgary does that. The location is a bit out of the central business area but it is still within walking distance. It is close to 17th Avenue so if dining and shopping are on your list of things to do, this hotel works great for that. If you need to attend conferences or classes like I did, it also ticks the boxes.

The staff at this hotel went out of their way to help. When we need to find the location of a store or activity they helped. The breakfast was terrific, The breakfast staff friendly. Rooms were large and clean. Very good location if you need to be close to things in the downtown area. Near 17th Ave. S.W. with lots of good restaurants.

From the time we stepped into the lobby we were impressed by every person we came in contact with. The two ladies looking after our complimentary breakfast were kind and spent enough time with us to show genuine interest in all of the people they came in contact with. Very rare.

good budget option. Big rooms, comfortable beds. Great location. Good views from the higher floors. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was fine and what you'd expect from a Best Western, the cafe opposite offers more exotic fare if you want something on top of the bagels etc.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in calgary. We had two rooms booked for our family. The 1 bedroom suite on the 3rd floor was very large and we were able to have chairs placed in our room for us to celebrate a thanksgiving dinner for 4 of us celebrating in Calgary. The staff were always willing to help and the location was perfect. We were able to walk to Safeway to obtain groceries or to restaurants close by. Parking was free for our vehicle which is an added bonus when staying close to downtown.

This is an extremely well-kept older hotel (that looks new) in downtown Calgary, with many recent renovations, the rooms are large, clean, well-maintained, choice of 4 pillows per bed, beds were very comfortable, the internet connection excellent, the staff friendly & helpful. Parking is free & well-lit with a security guard as well. We were very impressed & will definitely come back.

We stayed here on a Saturday night. Easy to drive to. Easy free parking. We walked downtown to meet our city tour near the tower and left our car parked at the Best Western! The nice guy at the front desk suggested that. A very good idea!! Beds were very comfortable. It was very quiet even though our room was right next to the elevator. The AC fan ran constantly and quietly all night - no clicking on and off. A soothing white noise. We walked a block to get a pizza and ate in our kitchenette, which was newly renovated and very well stocked with glassware, plates, cups, pots and pans. My husband really enjoyed the fitness room, pool, and hot tub! Nice laundry room that we used and needed after a week in the Rockies! A great value.

Staff were extremely unhelpful when unforeseen circumstances forced a change of reservation. Was charged full amount of hotel stay, despite never stepping foot in the hotel. Keeping a deposit is fair, charging full price is not.

I had to get in and out of Calgary quickly. I arrived at dinner time, the staff gave some good recommendations for where to find restaurants, the room was very nice, and the maintenance staff were great, thank you Alan Franks for your help.

very friendly and knowledgeable staff who are always willing to help. Management are very much hands on and approachable. The hotel manager actually joined us for breakfast one morning! Talking of breakfast- it was a delight with plenty of variety every day and civilised hours. The catering staff were very service minded and even a late breakfast was not a rushed affair. We will return on our next trip from Ireland!

This place is pretty central for sightseeing. Only a couple of Km walk to downtown area around Calgary Tower. Parking is free and there were plenty of parks. Room was a really good size and had everything you needed. Not that we needed it but noticed the next morning it had a electric hotplate and everything you would need to self cater as well.

Excellent city centre location for sightseeing. Staff is very friendly. Service was perfect and the room was very spacious, clean and bed was very comfortable. Underground car parking. Loved the stay.

For value this is a great hotel for accessing downtown Calgary, the river paths and public transit to other areas in Calgary. The room, including the bed, was comfortable and clean. There were many good restaurants within walking distance.

What a refreshing stay! The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Room was large and very comfortable. Nothing fancy, but nice and clean and felt very safe. Plus free parking and breakfast, easy walking distance to many things downtown Calgary. Would stay again if in Calgary.

Walk in to find amazing staff and a nice looking front end. The hall ways a little dated, but nothing too terrible. Room was huge! Probably could have fit a full hockey team in there! But the beds....oh my goodness the beds! If you suffer with insomnia, you need this bed...if your spouse snores, this bed will plug there nose and being you into a beautiful land of slumber. Including your choice of 4 types of pillows and a perfectly weighted quilt, believe me....you will sleep. Other than the city noise, the room was quiet. The Windows are huge and had a great view if the city...which for me was horrific! I'm terrified of heights and we were on the tenth floor with these huge wall to wall windows! So if you like to look out...i suppose it was beautiful. The only downside was a couple housekeeping issues within the room. The pillow case looked worn and there was a bit of shampoo or something on the bathtub wall.. The breakfast....wow. After a night out at a concert the breakfast was perfect. Scrambled eggs, spicy hashbrowns, sausages, waffles, cereal, breads or pastries with a side of fruit or yoghurt and your choice of beveridge...well...you get the idea. I have to commend the staff, I personally had spoken to 5 desperate at different times and each one of them were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again without question.

We stayed one night at BW Plus Suites in downtown Calgary. The location was convenient, rooms were clean and staff was very friendly and welcoming. Coffee shops and convenience stores are within walking distance. Complimentary breakfast was a bonus!
