« Best Western Plaza Inn @ Breezewood, PA »

Hotel has always been clean, and rooms clean also. Only problem this time was we arrived around 10 pm and the glare from the lights on the lower floor made it hard to see what the room #'s were....also parking was taken up by alot of people hauling small trailers which parked sideways and took up 3 full spots. Other than that we always stay here on our way towards the Eastern Shore, clean, easy access on and off highway 30 and Rt 70, and PA Turnpike. For one night is worth the price. Breakfast we didnt have this time, we left early, but has been good in the past with eggs, gravy, biscuits, etc...a good hot breakfast !

wasn't impressed at all I expect best western hotel to be a step above super 8, red roof think this hotel used to be one of those and just changed the name couldn't get internet to work the remote for the tv didn't work didnt report the problems as we checked in late and left early

    « Keep Driving »

Hotel is located in a very busy area so do not expect a quiet night's rest. Hotel looked shady, room needs a good deep cleaning and the tub drained very very slow. I guess it will do if you are just in need of a quick night's sleep on the road. But I wouldn't suggest it.

    « Breezwood, PA - Best Western »

If you want a restful night's sleep, dont stay here. Loud trucking noises, and noise from the neighboring gas station. Hotel is need of upgrades, and extra staff to meet the needs of the guests. Clerk upon check out was sitting with feet up and on a personal call. Made no attempt to greet me or attend to me.

    4
    « Conveniently located »

Very conveniently located hotel. Neighborhood feels secure. Nice amenities. Breakfast is good but the location of the breakfast room is not readily obvious. Wifi is above average. Friendly staff. The looks of the interior can be improved.

    « short but pleasant »

This trip was for business and it had been a stressful day so it was nice to get to the motel and relax. The front desk lady, Denyce was helpful in finding a place to park my oversize fire truck and discussed options for dinner. Had a dinner close by-lots of options. Had a relaxing dip in the pool. When I told her I would be leaving early she arranged for a to go bag of breakfast items to put in the room fridge.

    « Very loud, just so-so »

This place was right on top of a Sheetz 24 hour restaurant and gas station. Our room, because it was a pet room, was facing this very busy spot and huge 18 wheelers roared through all night. It was not a comfortable bed, and the room smelled a bit. The pool was huge.

« I found the one cared for and clean Best Western »

I normally do not stay at Best Westerns due to owners or managers not taking care of their properties, this motel the rooms were very clean, well kept, colorful, and probably the Best of the Best Westerns I have stayed at. I highly recommend this motel for cleanliness and well managed

    4
    « little updating needed »

Needs just some updating to the rooms...they still have the a/c units that are just in the wall. Decor could be updated , but overall its always been clean and to me thats what counts. I will take cleanliness in a room over some outdated decor..but would just help if new curtains and carpet...room makeover..but thats what the high dollar hotels are for..Im guessing this is in an area that are just for a travelers overnight stay, on there way to their destination. But this works for us..thanks again BW...so far we have never not liked staying at your hotels.

    « Stay Away »

This hotel was awful. Dirty, smelly, window air conditioning unit that cooled bathroom area only, uncomfortable bed, poorly decorated and unprofessional staff. Nothing positive to say. The lobby was so heavily perfumed it made me cough. In the morning I discovered why - it reeked of cigarette smoke. I rarely stay at Best Western Hotels as I find them very inconsistent. I think Best Western needs to worry about their brand image and do an overhaul before they sink even lower. At this point, I would rather stay in a Motel 6, at least you get what you pay for. In addition to Best Western being unreliable from a quality perspective, they charge relatively high rates - $100 + a night.

« Do not Stay Here if you don't have to »

On a motorcycle trip with my husband and we needed to find a room for the night due to a bad storm. Have the rewards card so decided to stay at the best western in breezewood, PA. Terrible experience, water was shut off and told would be on in 5 min was several hours. They used air freshners for the room because of the musty smell and there were stains on the carpets. Try not to stay here if you can.

« Go West Young Man »

There are many properties in this cross roads to everywhere. I found this property conveniently located. It shares the parking lot with Sheetz. I would assume rooms facing Sheetz wouldn't be as quiet as rooms in the back building. The pool was very inviting. The room was large and clean with the comfortable bed that I've come to expect from Best Western. I found the breakfast lack luster but worth every penny. The tip jar at the breakfast was a bit tacky. The water pressure was barely passable to shower. The entire property was a bit outdated which I actually enjoy.

    2
« Nice staff but terrible room »

I booked because I was stranded as a result of delayed flights. I chose Best Western because it is a chain I am generally pleased with. This stay might chance my perception. The room smelled musty and was incredibly damp. My bags were even damp by morning. The blanket smelled of mold and the pillows were awful. I would rather have slept in my car.

« Not very happy with this stay »

We have stayed here often. This time was not a good experience at the end. Usually I am not happy with the beds but this time seemed more comfortable and Saturday was a good experience. Sunday and Monday were not. When we returned to our room Sunday the room had been very sloppily done. The beds looked like they had been sat on or someone had rolled around on them. No coffee was left. We needed clean wash clothes and none had been left and no bath mat either. Breakfast on Monday was not good either. We went to the breakfast room very shortly after they opened and the offerings were almost non existent. My husband had a danish and I had toast because there wasn't much else. When we went to check out I wanted to tell the manager this but the lobby was locked and a sign said he was in the breakfast room. I waited awhile and then went down there and could not find him so went back to the lobby and waited some more. Finally I put my keys in the drop box and left without talking to him or getting my receipt. If this was my first stay I would never go back. I might not stay here again because there are other places.

« Not for tall people »

Generally, I Suspect Breezewood is an overnight destination, so expectations are minimal. Staff was courteous. Room was more than adequate, likewise the breakfast. But the bathroom was not for tall people. I'm 6'3". When I stood in the tub shower my head had maybe two inches clearance. The shower head, when aimed as high as possible, did not reach my shoulders, requiring me to bend over to wash my hair. Additionally, the tub drain stayed in the almost closed position, draining out maybe 15-20 minutes after I left

« Older motel needs some care »

While the receptionist was wonderful and pointed us to a good place for dinner, this motel itself is an older one that needs some care. We had issues in two rooms with cleanliness (rug, towels and washcloths) and very uncomfortable pillows that forced your neck into a difficult position. One of the rooms also had a faulty toilet and 2:00 a.m. noise issues.

    « Good place for in-transit night »

Basic comfortable moderate priced truck stop hotel. Service friendly and helpful. Room has fridge, microwave, coffee maker, Wi-fi is reliable. Takes pet for $20 up-charge. Nothing special, but not looking for anything special on the inter-state, just a place to stay and then move on in the AM. Room has slight smell of being cleaned (much better, of course, than smell of not being cleaned), but not noticeable after a few minutes.

« Horrible place....needs to be torn down »

Very old decrepit place. Like similar old places needs to be torn down. However they do give a prize for whoever finds largest roach in their room. Everything outdated, dirty and unkempt. The woman at the front desk was very unfriendly as if she hated the place as much as people who check in.

    4
« Good stay for the money »

This is overall a good hotel for the price. The breakfast room has been renovated since our last stay and had a constant attendant which is an improvement that really makes a difference. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is that the beds are too hard for me. My husband thinks they are fine so it is maybe just preference. We will stay again and always stay here when traveling here.

    « Disgusting!!!! »

My family and I booked two rooms late at night on the 10th May. We were so tired after a long flight from Great Britain and long drive from Dulles Airport. When we got into the rooms there were cobwebs, spiders, even the toilet was uneven, peeling paint. Totally disgusted!!! I most definitely would not recommend this place to anybody. Poor management!!!

« Nice BW but too noisy »

It is near an intersection and all night Trucks are starting up. Also there is a gas station next door and music plays over outdoor speakers all night. At least they could fix that. Other than that things were fine.

    3
« You get what you pay for! »

Continent location. Clean rooms (2) but no up grades for years it appears. Price was right since we got in at 7 p.m. & left at 9 a.m. We were able to walk to near by restaurant which was good & close by. Bob Evans restaurant also close by. Ate there rather than motel breakfast.

« Best Western Plaza Inn, Breezewood, PA experience »

Room was comfortable and clean. Chose this hotel since we didn't want to spend over $100 for one night since we were just stopping on our way back home. Only disadvantage is that the hotel is next to a gas station and in a very busy area.

    2
    « Not enough sleep... »

The bed was like a cement slab, and there was wierdly only a sheet a thin blanket and another sheet on the bed and i need to be warm to sleep. The room was chilly and there was no adjustment knob on the wall heater. If you're a light sleeper bring your ear plugs as there was a lot of truck noise. Lacking for the cost.

« friendly staff super clean room and right on the hwy corner of I70 and 30 »

gateway restaurant is highly recommended during your stay the staff of the best western told us about this restaurant and they were right 2 double beds but like i said very clean be careful at the intersection the cars and lights are all over the place...you will see what i mean

    3
    « Average room »

The hotel is clean but not as good a deal as other Best Westerns we have stayed in. At $95 with AAA discount you would expect better. We have stayed here often as my husband has sentimental attachment to the hotel and frankly there is not much to offer in Breezewood. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean but had a smell of cigar smoke when we checked in. The beds are not comfortable to me but husband said they were to him. Breakfast is okay. The hotel desk clerk manages the breakfast room so is not available when servicing the breakfast room which is a problem in the breakfast hours as they have to run back and forth. I would stay here because my husband likes to.

« Perfect for Family and Pet »

We were traveling with our dog and needed a place to rest for the night. It didn't take long to realize that pet friendly hotels are few and far between. This hotel had a pet friendly room that was perfect for us. The pet fee was modest and the room was clean and spacious. It's an older hotel but the room was well updated. Breakfast was very good with hot scrambled eggs and warm biscuits. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a comfortable nights sleep at a good rate.

    1
    « NEVER Stay There.... »

I'm not a diva when it comes to hotel but this may have been the scariest places I've ever stayed. We were traveling back from a concert and just needed somewhere to lay our heads. After checking in we go to our room, which has an outside entrance, the room looked like they converted it from a closet to a room. It had no windows except the air conditioning unit. The bedspread was more like an old heavier sheet rather than something warm. When I woke up the next morning and needed a shower, I placed a towel in the shower because I don't know what was in their before I took mine or what happened in their previously. The room was cheap but by all means, pay more for better quality.

    3
    « Okay - pricey for value »

Accept pets but require signed waiver and statement of responsibility for "any pet hair." Paid dearly for a double bed in a HUGE room. Heating/AC antiquated and rug needed serious cleaning. Staff mostly pleasant.

    2
« Overpriced for a very mediocre place »

We stayed here on a road trip, and though we weren't picky, this just wasn't good. We had pets, so I'm guessing they stick pet owners in the oldest/dirtiest rooms. Which doesn't seem like such a great policy when there's a pet fee. In any case, it wasn't terribly clean, and is in dire need of updating. For $118 a night I'd hope for more. On the plus side, the lady who checked us in was straightforward and had a good sense of humor, which has to count for something.... The hotel is in the parking lot of the Sheetz station (it is Breezewood after all) and we were in the rear part of the building, so at least it was quiet. Nothing green around, just a parking lot. We did not stay for breakfast so I can't comment on that. We did take showers and the shower had good pressure and was as clean as can be expected when it hasn't been updated since the 1970s. Best Western has a predictable range of quality and this was definitely at the bottom of that range. Would not recommend.

« Average for the price »

Been staying at this hotel for years and the proprietor has made improvements. Wayne the manager at the front desk is great always cheerful and willing to help you fix any problem if you have them thumbs up to him the beds are comfortable and the room in general works if I had one thing that stands out that needs a Done it's getting new fresh towels. The Entire hotel towels are old and outdated and they badly need replaced.

    3
« Too loud to sleep »

This please was clean but way too loud. Our window was open when we got there and we had a hard time getting it shut because it did not have a crank. Our TV also didn't work but they did bring us a different one that did right away. Only a bottle of shampoo, no conditioner or lotion. no hair dryer. I would not recommend this place so plan on driving a little further or stop earlier so you don't have the Breezewood noise.

    2
    « Decrepit motel »

No receipt made available. Paid extra for handicapped room and didn't get it! Clerk was arrogant and not helpful. Overall condition of property......run down and could be cleaner! We'll never stay at another Best Western Hotel.

    3
« Could be so much better »

Good price. As others have mentioned, this is an older facility, priced accordingly. Reception friendly. Room small, but had an odor that was difficult to place. Scores of butts left outside our room (lower level, door opening to the parking spot suggests people smoke outside the room. Why can't staff do a quick sweep? Noise levels: this BW sits 50 yards or so from the junction of 76 and the left turn to DC. Sits adjacent to a Hardee's and a Sheets filling station; if you're anticipating solitude, choose another location. Beds were fine, and we had a good night's sleep. The pool was open, but it was near the end of the season, and cleaning had ended. Complimentary breakfast essentially an afterthought.

« Dirty towel and blood stain on sheet found when we pulled down the clean covers upon arrival »

After a very long day and even longer drive, we arrived at the Best Western Plaza Inn in Breezewood, Pennsylania at approximately 2:30 a.m. We were exhausted!! Upon turning down the cover on one of the double beds, we found a dirty towel and blood stain on the sheet. We were too exhausted to go to the front desk and request a new room at that hour, so we stayed in the other bed and notified the desk a few hours later when we got up to leave. We took a picture and sent it to them and we were told we would hear back from them once the manager was told about it. A week later, when we had still not heard back from them, we called back and were appalled to be told that they decided not to respond to us because we stayed in the room instead of complaining at 2:30 a.m. They decided that they did not even want to bother following up with us. When we called and spoke to the desk clerk that we had previously had the discussion with, she was beyond rude and disrespectful. We then asked to speak to a Manager and when we did, he was even ruder and more disrespectful. We have never ever come across this type of customer service, nor have we ever turned down a clean bed in a hotel room to find a dirty towel and blood stain on the sheet. It was so gross and we are including our photo. Their behavior was unconscionable. There was no apology whatsoever!! Instead, they were actually quite accusatory in their response to us. How dare they turn it around on us and blame us for not making a big deal in the middle of the night. The hotel refused to issue us a refund and were actually extremely rude and disrespectful. Please stay away from this Best Western if you can!!

« They will take your money for a next day reservation but expect you to adhere to a 72 hour cancellation policy. »

On October 8th, 2015 before booking the hotel, I called to find out information about its payment policies. I was informed that they take a credit card number to hold the room but they do not charge your account until after you have checked out.I was also advised to book online because of the short turn around. I booked this hotel approximately 10:45 pm. At 5:30 pm on October 9th, I called the hotel to request a cancellation due to circumstances beyond my control and asked if they could transfer my reservation from this Best Western to another. I quickly discovered that they would take a reservation in less than 24 hours or the next day, but they still expected you to adhere to the 72 hour cancellation notice. I was informed by Denise Turner (the manager) that this could not happen and that they would not release my funds as they were being held by the corporate office. She also advised me to call the corporate office at 1800 WESTERN to see if they would release my funds. After speaking to customer service, I was advised that corporate does not have the ability to charge my account, just take reservations. Customer service did some additional investigation and advised me that although my reservation was classified as legal, the individual hotels could issue a refund. Once again I tried to call Best Western Plaza Inn. I called three times letting the phone ring for 3 minutes at a time; no luck. On the fourth try Denise Turner answered. I identified who I was. Not only did she completely change her story, denying that she said that corporate was the one who charged my account, but she did so with a 'snooty attitude.' She also informed me that customer service had called her. After a short conversation, Denise Turner informed me that she is only following protocol and will not issue me a refund; that was up to the owner. When I asked to speak to the owner she said he does not live on the property. I than informed Denise Turner that a second party was listening to this conversation and that I will be posting this review online, using her name. I asked if this was okay and she yes.

« Safe and clean place to spend the night »

Hotel front desk staff were pleasant, as was the "breakfast lady". Loved that you could walk back behind the hotel and see a farm- that was a nice way to stretch out and really feel like you'd pulled off the highway for a rest. Will stay here again, hopefully in nice warm weather because the pool was gorgeous but I didn't want to use it due to the slight but chilly mountain breeze.

« Older but well kept up. »

This location is an older building but they are working it keeping it up. Our room was clean, fresh, and neat. However the fixtures are kinda out dated. The air unit was located in the dressing area next to the sink ??? Their are several places for dinner and they have parking for you rv or trailer

    5
    « Nice hotel...go for ice cream »

We stayed at this Hotel as we embarked on our cross country trip. The hotel was fine, and there are a lot of choices for food. But if you want some great ice cream...go to Everett (about 7 miles from the Hotel) to a little place called The Igloo. You will not be disappointed, and it is not a bad drive.

    4
    « Comfort OK »

This hotel was very clean but the king bed was very firm and did not have a pillow top. When sitting or getting into be you sat on a hard steel ring around the top of the mattress. Other than that the room and location to the turnpike and eating establishments was really good.

« Good Place to rest and Go. »

A quick stop over during travel. The desk reception, Denyce, was efficient and gave me a senior discount and included breakfast. Wifi is available free of charge. Stayed in room 120 A which was clean and located directly in front of a gas station/convenience store. Breakfast was right around the corner. Paid $86.29 including all taxes and fees.
