Leigh Park Country House Hotel & Vineyard, BWSC

Beautiful hotel, the grounds are very well kept, it was a shame it was raining because there was lots of seating to sit out and enjoy the lovely view. We had a ground floor room which was very spacious nice large comfortable bed and a good shower. The food was of a high standard and the staff very good, highly recommend this hotel.

Although overall we were pleased with our accommodation. Sadly the hotel management lets down their hard working staff. We had a 2 night stay with breakfast included. Our room was very comfortable and over looked the vineyard. We were asked at check in if we wished our room to be serviced during our stay and what time booking for breakfast. Wished for both to be done. First morning excellent breakfast. Plenty of choice , hot, good service . Returned to our room mid afternoon cold and wet. No heating. Turns out our annex is on timed and wasn't turned on . Room was not serviced. 2nd morning breakfast was carnage. Not enough seating, lack of food, staff were over run . So disappointed. It is a management problem. Breakfast booking should be staggered to work with the seat numbers and what the kitchen can produce. House keeping. If you know how many are staying. Adjust your housekeeping staff to suit. Sadly those who make the decisions are never to be seen. Our thanks to the hard working staff on duty this morning 25th feb . You were let down by management.

What a lovely hotel. Our room was huge, with a modern bathroom, but an unspoilt old bedroom. Paddy our barman+ was exceptional as were all the staff, which made for an excellent stay. Great food too. Breakfast and evening meals were super, Thank you so much.

Breakfast was dreadful , bacon was like shoeleather ,scrambled eggs grey ,sausages poor quality and undercooked. All pre cooked buffet style continental choice was abysmal. Dinner menu limited barman didnt know what a white wine sprizer was. Rooms not serviced so not replinished of tea e.t.c Our room was the bridal suit ,ok but disappointing if I was'the bride. No lights over bathroom mirror no body lotion no water in the room.

I upgraded to an executive room and I feel the room I was given is not what is shown on the website. It was in the stables and only had a very small window and no view. I complained to reception and to the manager that it did not warrant an extra £20 per night. I was told an email was sent to top management but as yet I've had no response. Please be aware that if you book an executive room here it may not be what you expect and is not worth it! It was a shame as otherwise it was an enjoyable trip.

Whilst waiting for our food, a gentleman complained that his fish was stone cold inside and walked out. My fish arrived 15v mins later and it wasn't cooked in the middle and also stone cold. Drinks are massively expensive and the wine (which isn't from their vineyard because they don't make wine anymore) is very poor.

What a wonderful discovery. A beautiful building though, as with all Best Westerns, a faded lady. The staff and environment more than made up for that, they deserve 5 stars . A sumptuous cosy room, with 2 proper arm chairs, where we were able to in comfort. There are no words for how good the dinner was, one of the best meals out we've had in years. I had lamb, my companions the skate wing and chicken Milanese. Thoroughly recommend staying here, or going just for dinner, but remember the faded lady comments.

An excellent hotel with a good location. An imaginative and varied menu in the restaurant with a good wine list. A good selection of hot and cold food and fruit at breakfast. Very good value for money. Would go back for a longer stay.

We stayed for three nights over a weekend. We were disappointed overall for a variety of reasons. Our room was not up to the quality we expected based on those shown on the hotel website. We had a so called executive room, in a separate block. It was not comfortable - there were two very hard chairs. There was only one very small window in a corner of the room so it felt claustrophobic. We were expecting a bright room like those on the website. The bathroom was clean but the shower had very low water pressure. Just about adequate to wash your hair. The rest of the hotel was also a bit worn out and needs a refresh. Marks 5 out of 10. Breakfast. The bacon was hard and difficult to cut with the blunt knives. It must have been cooked for a very long time to get that chewy. I didn't see anybody replenish the hot food for the three mornings we were there so it must be cooked in bulk early. Maybe it's ok at 7am but not 9am. I didn't trust the look of the sausages - they didn't seem properly cooked. Marks 5 out of 10. The evening menu was identical for the three nights we were there. The only meal that we really enjoyed was when we had steak on the third night. The other meals seemed to be microwaved. Marks 7 out of 10. The restaurant staff were very good. Scott, Ibram, Paddy, and Richie - well done to you all. Unfortunately there didn't seem to be enough staff all the time. Getting a drink at the bar was an ordeal until Richie arrived on our third night. Marks 8 out of 10. Check in. When we checked in the receptionist asked us to pay our bill up front. I asked why that was - I'm used to paying when we check out. She said it was their policy. So reluctantly I paid. Then I was told if I wanted to put drinks on my room I would need to pay a deposit of £200 up front. I was getting the feeling they didn't trust me - I felt insulted. Anyway I decided not to give them any more money up front and paid as went along. Marks 2 out of 10. We were on a Dinner Bed and Breakfast rate and I was surprised after the second night dinner to be asked to pay extra because we'd gone over the limit. What limit? Nobody had told me that there was a limit. Anyway I refused to pay the extra. And I realised that with this system if you have a meal within the limit you don't get any credit for that when you go over the limit on another day. No wonder they don't explain it to you. It would all be much simpler and fairer to tot it all up as you go and pay at the end when you check out. Marks 2 out of 10. There were plenty of other minor niggles. We were glad to get away. Shame really - it's got the potential to be a good hotel, but we won't be returning.

Paid for an Executive room in the main building only to be placed in a standard room in an annex. Breakfasts are very poor the bacon must have been under the grill for a minute at the most. When I enquired about our room being a standard one with a member of the reception staff it was confirmed, then when I said I had booked an Executive room she backtracked and said that it actually was an executive room needless to say that we will not be returning.

We stayed for 3 nights this week and I can honestly say we could not have picked a better place to stay. The staff were so nice, polite and helpful. Got to say they are all a credit to your hotel. The room was really well presented and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were great. Plenty of selection hot or cold. The only criticism I have is the evening menu was a bit limited. Not a great deal of choice. In all great Hotel, awesome staff and views to die for. Thank you.

We had our wedding at Leigh Park on the 20th August. It was the most amazing day. The attention to detail before the wedding with emails and meeting made me feel confident that the hotel were in control. The staff on the day made our day so special. The team are so great, a special thank you to Josh, Kat, Ibrahim, and Cindy who made our day the best it could be but the whole team worked hard. The food was fantastic both in the day and evening. Our guests have all commented on the whole day being perfect. We had a couple of problems, nothing to do with the hotel, they helped and dealt with them without my day being affected. If you want amazing staff, food and a beautiful setting then there is no better place

We stayed for three nights rooms a bit tired and basic but OK, staff very polite and helpful would stay there again, walking distance to Bradford on Avon town which was lovely, nice view from the grounds but place could do with updating

i love staying at this hotel - mainly because of the staff; they are so friendly and do their best to give us an exceptional service; it was great value for money and my group and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay; the food was fantastic and the service and effort put in was amazing.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel ,super friendly staff ,we were made to feel very welcome ,comfy bed !! Slept really well can't recommend it highly enough,we would stay again beautiful grounds as well.

Leigh Park is a friendly hotel with excellent conference facilities and service. The staff are particularly good and this meant we were able to focus on our conference with all the details taken care of. The main dining area is in a stunning setting with a fantastic view of the beautiful English countryside. The garden and grounds are well maintained are part of this view and a real feature of the property. The building itself is historic and has alot of character, so it would appeal to tourists looking for an authentic English hotel in a great location. The food is delicious and good quality. There are lots of walks and places to visit nearby.

Wonderful welcome, we ate in the restaurant- the food was excellent, but the service was exceptional. Polite, attentive and cared for our every need. Paddy took care of us and Kate was friendly and polite. We will definitely be back!

This is our 4th visit to Leigh Park as we stay here whilst visiting friends locally. The rooms are so spacious all with lovely views and we especially like room 34 with 2 large bay windows. The bathroom is also large and well away from the bedroom area unlike en-suites in many hotels where you can hardly squeeze inside as they are crammed in to part of the bedroom. Hot water took a long time to come through but when it did it was a super temperature. A small box of tissues and a tiny guest soap would have been appreciated as the liquid soap was over the bath and a long way from the hand basin but this is not meant as a complaint. Breakfast bacon was delicious on both mornings and being served with coffee and tea pot at the table was a definite improvement on previous visits when guests collected their own drinks from the serving area and then had to carefully balance them when returning to one's table. The staff were always very helpful and cheerful. Will definitely continue our visits.

Room was of a standard that you would find in an old hotel. No plug sockets near the bed, TV had no control so could not watch the TV, bathroom had paint slatters all over the bath and the shower had no hot water at all. It was clean and tidy but definitely needs a little updating. Reported no hit water to reception and the TV issue but nothing came of it. Also for £12.50, the breakfast was quite expensive for a buffet which was lukewarm.

Wow what a fantastic place.. we arrived on the Tuesday and couldn't t believe the size of our room and how comfortable it was, We ate in the restaurant and again was amazed by how loverly the food was, Mainly locally sourced or even from the hotel grounds itself … we stayed for 3 nights and it felt like a home from home… Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were very friendly, We will Definitely be back and I could honestly recommend it to anybody looking for a country manor stay at very reasonable prices…..Thankyou to all of the staff especially Cindy in the restaurant xxx

We love the Best Western hotels and they suit us and our needs, we dont like modern hotels or rowdy ones, this hotel did not have any extras as such ie swimming pool or gym or spa, but we would never have time to use it anyway, the hotel like all the older type hotels could probably do with some re decor, but the room we had in the loft was lovely and had an amazing view. there is no lift but I think its only 3 floors. it is perfect to get into the little village , you can walk, and there are about 3 restaurants to choose from and a really lovely stroll along the river and bridge

We went for our silver wedding anniversary it was gorgeous scenery, clean hotel and lovely food. Richie a member of staff made it a five star experience he was polite, professional and attentive on the ball.

Booked a room here to attend a family wedding I was given a random room away from the other family guests, nothing in the room worked properly, the bathroom light flickered, no hot water from the shower, the tv didn't work, very poor quality room despite paying £250 for two night stay here, other budget hotels would have been better. wouldn't stay here again. shame as waiting and bar staff were polite, helpful and good service.

Unfortunately my stay at the Best Western Leigh Park was by far the worst Best Western that I have stayed in. To start there were a number of issues that I would group together as poor/non-existence maintenance which the Hotel itself must be fully aware of, not least of which were windows that didn't shut properly during sub zero temperatures outside, and having bathrooms with no extraction/ventilation at all. My main issue was that the Hotel had booked in a Wedding Party which meant that various facilities were not available. For instance in the evening the Bar was closed, presumably as the reception was going on and there were staff shortages. Not a big problem, but why not warn residents and perhaps provide an alternative service. Another issue was Breakfast whereby on arrival I was told it finished at 08.45, whereas their BW website says 09.30, which was then further exasperated when the whole room was taken over by the Wedding Guests who turned it into a Menagerie with children and adults creating a total din. I have no problems with the Hotel concentrating on their wedding parties at all, BUT NOT at the expense of the other guests staying there. There are many many Hotels in the Bradford/Bath/Bristol area and I chose the Leigh Park because it was a Best Western, and I had experience and confidence of the standard to be expected, unfortunately not the case this time. I did mention a couple of the issues to reception on leaving, but the problems were systematic not one offs.

Attended for a works Christmas party in Dec 22. Very lovely staff, very helpful. Good location, good service and very good breakfast! Room was lovely, homely cottage feel, not the biggest but lovely. Bathroom a little cramped but also lovely with everything you could need.

Excellent hotel. Great staff and good quality food and accommodation. Adequate parking, well off the main road. Room I had was large and comfortable, with excellent bathroom facilities. Hotel was very quiet throughout my stay, even though there were quite a few guests staying at the time I was there.

I usually don't like to review, but this Hotel deserves a special mention. As a popular Wedding Venue in the area, the Hotel was recommended to me by a friend that had her wedding there recently. Wow! I cannot put into words how this Hotel and Staff make you feel, the customer service and the charm of the older building is truly outstanding, if you want personality and a relaxing experience book Leigh Park.

We Attended our Friend's Wedding a few weeks ago, my partner & I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves throughout the day. The food was beautiful, and the presentation was top drawer. What impressed us the most, was the attention to detail from the staff, nothing was too much trouble and the Bride was utterly spoilt all the way through. Special mention to Ebram, Josh, Grace and Alvin. All were on another level in terms of customer service.

Wolf wedding 07.07.22 Its taken me quite some time too write this review with out getting angry or sad. The venue its self is beautiful, we got married on an extremely hot day, so enjoyed the garden and have some fantastic picture. The rooms we stayed in were lovely, the bridal suite absolutely gorgeous. Those are my good bits. The morning of the wedding was told on two separate occasions that my wedding flowers had not arrived. A little bit stressed phone the florist who confirmed they had been delivered at 10 oclock. This was now 12.30 and i got married at 1 oclock! The Conservatory ( where the ceremony was held) was absolutely boiling, not 1 window had been opened, had too ask guests too do so while getting married. It was unbearable! The food was awful, we choose a summer bbq Burgers were raw! No sauces, no vegan food,which was preordered,No kids food also pre ordered no body on hand too tell, i had too keep walking too the bar and asking where everything was! Bbq left unattended, i had too ask a guest too Man it as we had lots of under 5s in our party. Bar staff were rude and unhelpful! Saying they had run out of specific drinks, when it transpires they could not be bothered too walk too the cellar! When i complained via email i was told that the on duty manager and they gave me his name confirmed that id had a lovely day, but im unsure how he new as nobody with his name was looking after my wedding party!! I was given a complimentary stay at a sister hotel with dinner and it was absolutely lovely, the place, rooms, food & staff but i still feel it not enough too Compensate for an over£4000.00 wedding shambles on their behalf. But short of small claims theirs nothing i can do!

Well let's start with the good. the hotel was in a great location, the rooms are very nice.The bathrooms was good except there were grips in the Bath for when you have a shower, it was like an ice rink, very dangerous. The staff were very good The bad. The food isn't of a very high standard. We were there for a wedding. First course good, main course was terrible the meat was chewy to say the least a lot of people left it on their plates. dessert excellent. Breakfast was ok not brilliant but ok.

We were initially disappointed at being told that we were not in the main hotel but in the coach house . However on arriving at the room we were pleasantly surprised by it's size , cleanliness and decor . The bathroom was spotless . The only slight downside was the lack of towel rails for hanging damp towels , however this was only a minor issue . The hotel and its grounds are beautiful and reasonably priced . We will definitely be returning

We stayed at the Leigh Park for a one night break whilst visiting Bath. Great Location only a 15 minute drive into Bath and easily found parking. We also visited the local town Bradford on Avon which we thoroughly enjoyed, plenty of restaurants and bars, great for an afternoon stroll. We will certainly be back again.

Our stay was brilliant in all respects. Our room was excellent and breakfast was very well presented with food cooked to perfection. Reception staff were welcoming on arrival and very friendly on departure. The hotel grounds were well kept and parking was convenient.

Was pleasantly surprised at how clean and comfortable the accommodation was, and the food very high standard, including buffet breakfast which was always kept topped up on our visit. Staff young but very professional and friendly, with special thanks to Joshua - excellent and very professional service with a smiling and relaxed manner. Thanks also to Emily and Luke and the rest of the staff for making our stay such a nice experience. Gave 4 stars simply because the heating was not working in our room at the time but alternative heating provided immediately which did the trick However we were there when the weather was quite mild, so one to address before the cold weather arrives. Also the vineyard is no longer a going concern so name of hotel a bit misleading. Suggest the management consider offering some form of spa facilities, given the area - in my humble opinion!!

Lovely setting , room small but adequate , very disappointed with breakfast we chose 9.15 but by then the buffet was practically empty juice on last dregs and cooked items looked as though they had been there a long time, I think staff had given up replenishing things that had run out like only one slice of bread left not worth the £10 charged. I also think dinner menu lacked a bit of imagination for a hotel.

I've said here a few times over the years and the most recent visit was fantastic. I arrived really late and tired after a 3 hour drive and the receptionist was so kind. He could tell I was tired and just not functioning fully. I asked for a bottle of water for the room and he brought it across to me no problems. The room was lovely and clean. Room had only a shower, but that was fully functioning and clean. Bed was clean and typical for a hotel. Breakfast was plated and they've removed the buffet, but I can understand why. The food was cooked well and everything you could want. Coffee machine was out of action, but not an issue for me. I had 2 evening meals and these were yummy and very quick to come out, even with a function on the 2nd night. Wait staff were super friendly and attentative. I look forward to my next stay!

Pam Duckett and her fantastic team made it easy to arrange our wedding, from the first meeting, Pam put our minds to rest, gave us ideas and inspiration to make our day flow well. I ( The Groom ) stayed previous night, was given a great spacious room, staff helped unload boxes full of the table decoration etc.. made me feel welcome from the start, even though they had another wedding that day, still made plenty of effort to ensure I was helped and prepped for my big day following. The staff were so helpful, organised everything, I literally sat in the garden whilst they whisked around and got everything ready, I should have taken the name of young lass who decorated our dining room, (I'm sure they will know – she deserves a pat on the back) WOW!! she done a brilliant job, so pleased when came to check the room. To be honest, all the staff were warm and welcoming, very friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble! We used the conservatory for our ceremony, again well organised room by the staff, simple but elegant, red carpet made it nice for my bride on entrance. We choose the breakfast wedding (3 course meal), the food was good, all served in good timely order for 60 guests, portion sizes were perfect, was a pleasant meal and not rushed, and most of all, very tasty. After a nerve racking speech… and some nice Bubbly to toast, we cut the cake, they served with Tea & Coffee. Kids were able to run free and enjoy the secluded gardens safely. DJ introduced himself, really nice guy, asked for special requests and made the evening fun for all. Some of our guests travelled so stayed at the hotel, all satisfied with rooms, prices and hospitality. We stayed in Honeymoon suite, very grand with Four Poster Bed, good sized, room lovely Roll Top Bath and good sized bathroom, very flash! We enjoyed Breakfast following morning, good choice of hot and cold food, something to please everyone. Our final Thoughts: Great Value, Quality Service, Top Staff, Great Location, Lovely Gardens, Highly Recommendable. Thank you all for making our day so very special!! Mr & Mrs Pepler - 10/09/2022

A horrendous hotel, breakfast is awful, service is shocking. We had to ask for everything to be topped up. Showers are rubbish and weak! False advertisement as we booked an executive room and got a rubbish horrible room. smelt of damp and dirt. Never stay in this hotel. Receptionist was useless and didn't know Anything. Beds were uncomfortable, rooms were tired and disgusting. I would never stay again. Never stay in this hotel!!!!!

Value for money, staff helpfullness set in stunning grounds, there is none better. Anyone on a budget that wants the look of a 5-star stately mannor without the 5-star stately bill and be treated like Kings & Queens, need to check this hotel out as their wedding venue of choice. Speak to Pam the wedding organiser or Kat the Duty Manager. So helpfull.

I booked a few days away to surprise my partner and somewhere to relax, well thats what I thought. What a big mistake. Probably the worst hotel experience I have had. I paid for an executive double but think I got a standard double, did question it but informed it was an executive. The bed was two singles put together, lumpy and soft, it was dirty, the bathroom was no better, the toilet felt like it was going to fall off the wall and so high my partner could swing her legs as they didn't touch the floor, the basin was low and with no soap so had to use what was in the shower, as for the shower hairs stuck all over the walls, the shower head was so low had to step out to wash my hair as I was touching the shower head and had to crouch to rinse the soap out. If you wanted the window open you had to have the curtains open as they were on rods which would not close unless the window was closed so woke. By the sun coming through early hours of the morning. Even though the price of the room had gone up by £50 from one night to the next. The staff were rude and unprofessional. Had breakfast and the food was from Brakes so cheap and tasteless, the waitresses were clearing away your plates before you had finished eating as they wanted you out of the way. The hotel looked tired and need of a refurb to bring in to the 21 century.

The total hotel experience was VERY disappointing, the room was supposed to be an ‘Executive Double' but was like a standard double, the price was £50 more expensive for the second night. The bathroom was not clean, the shower had hairs stuck to it so had not been cleaned, the shower was so low you had to stand out of it to wash you hair and crouch to rinse, you could not have the windows open and close the curtains due to the design so morning sun blasting in waking you up. Staff rude, abusive and unhelpfull

We held our wedding reception here and stayed here for 2 nights. I cannot speak highly enough of the hotel and staff. All the staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant on Friday night and food was great. Great choice for breakfast too. Bar in main hotel and reception room great.The rooms were spacious, clean and had all the facilities we needed. The grounds were well kept. We had the most fantastic wedding day and the hotel staff played a large part in that.

Rooms in the Coach House were very good - I cannot comment on those in the main building. I really would not suggest that you eat there in the evening. Poor service, poor food choices, not serving what's on the menu i.e. Pie of the day (Lamb and Vegetable on this occasion) was supposed to be served with seasonal vegetables but came with a pile of shredded lettuce. We also found out after ordering, that there were "specials" available but we had not been offered these. I found a moth in my beer (yes, I don't know how it got there either) which I fished out with the end of a knife. I brought this to the attention of the waiter who offered to get me a new knife and that was it. We had breakfast included with the room rate and were not looking forward to it after the previous evening's fiasco but as it turned out it was like being at a different hotel - staff were very friendly and happy to help, the cooked breakfast was cooked to order and was very good all things considered. If it hadn't have been for this then the rating for "Service" would have been a lot lower. Overall, the hotel was let down by the service and menu in the restaurant in the evening - otherwise a good stay but not a hotel I would recommend.

This is a hotel with lots of potential, but on the whole it feels quite tired. And I am tired today due to awful mattress and the bins being emptied/collected at 5.10am this morning. The hotel has a lot of good points (beautiful view, nice food, friendly staff) but there are some odd bits: plastic glasses in the bedrooms, paper napkins on the tables, umbrellas randomly strewn across the porch even though it hadn't rained in days. I stayed for a work trip but I wouldn't stay for a holiday. With a bit more attention to detail/care this place could be great, but it missed the mark for me.

I attended a wedding party at the Leigh park hotel, it was a really beautiful setting and the bar staff working that night were great and all very happy and friendly, especially Paddy! The area was really nicely decorated and the place had a lovely feel to it.

I booked 9 rooms for the night before my wedding. The general manager Pam was not helpful and was unable/unwilling to organise a group discount so I had to book via Booking.com. She was also really dragging her feet around organising a meal for 26 of us and in the end we went elsewhere. I felt like we were a pain for them. They put my elderly grandparents up very steep stairs and didn't offer to helps with bags. I had to sort them and swap their room when I found out. Didn't offer to do anything on my wedding morning to make it special. They even hoovered around our friends in the bar when they wanted to enjoy a drink! I think lockdown suited them!

Stayed recently on a cooperate function. The fixed menu we had booked was shocking. Starter, soup, weak and tasteless Mains, described as fruits of the sea in pasta, packet spaghetti in tin tomatoes with some mussel's and one single piece of calamari Desert, tinned pineapple with sugar on top. Then we went to the bar, ran out of ice pretty quick, ran out of gin, ran out of mixers. For a hotel the wine choice was very poor. The staff had no experience and was so disinterested it become a joke. Every time we needed service we had to wait for some one to turn up behind the bar. Breakfast was to a good standard only issue was you had to book a time.

This hotel has great potential given its location and style of building. However its let down but the overall state of repair, room cleanliness and disinterested staff. You get a good selection at breakfast but the quality of the food is poor.

Beautiful hotel in stunning gardens. Room was big and well appointed as well as being clean. Food was excellent: Evening menu had plenty of choice with a good steak and service great. Breakfast was a buffet but the food was hot and enough choice. Reception helpful and friendly. Also well priced, couldn't fault.

My wife and I were invited to an 80th birthday party at this hotel so we decided to stay the night after the afternoon tea party.The room we had was in the Coutyard Block overlooking the vineyard.The room was way above our expectations for the price we paid,king size bed,large flatscreen tv,nice furnishings and a very modern shower room with a lovely view of the vineyard . The bar prices were not exorbitant and the views from the lounge and dining room were just breathtaking.The breakfast was a buffet of very good quality product The hotel is set in very well looked after gardens, would we stay here again YES without a doubt as this hotel is probably the best hotel we have stayed in in the UK !

This is the second time I have written this as this hotel tends to remove bad reviews. I got married at this hotel 5 years ago so as a surprise to my husband I booked us in for a meal on the date of our anniversary. I emailed the hotel months before hand to say I'm gluten free and they said it wouldn't be a problem, I also explained why I booked a table as it was our anniversary and that we got married there. We arrived on the evening of the 10th June, got seated in the corner and was given some menus. First problem was that they had given us the wrong menus and the starter we wanted to order wasn't available. I was told the chef could make anything gluten free even the pie, I was abit nervous as that sounded strange but gave them the benefit of the doubt. I ordered a chicken mushroom and leek pie. What arrived was something else, it had bright pink meat inside. I didn't eat it but didn't want to make a fuss as it was our anniversary dinner so just ate the salad and the chips that was on the plate. We were told that dessert would be a wait of over 40 mins as there were two events on that night and the staff were under a lot of strain, we were happy to wait as we were trying to enjoy being back at what we called our hotel. The food was brought out eventually and we were told it would be on the house alongside the glass of wine as the wait was so long. I asked for the bill and we had been charged for it, I told the waitress who redid the bill. The food was very over priced and poor quality, after being given the receipt I saw that the pie was in fact chicken and ham, I don't eat pork so was very angry I had been given something that I want told about, thank goodness I never ate it. Huge problem here as that could have been very dangerous. The staff were under pressure but no excuses for being given food for allergy sufferers like me without knowing what's in the ingredients. We didn't even get a happy anniversary from any of the staff, the reception staff were rude and ignored us coming in and going out. Will be interesting to see if this review disappears again. As a note to the manager I will keep leaving this review until it's acknowledged, being ignorant about peoples food allergies is a huge red flag that need to be addressed. I will never come back to this hotel again, it's not the lovely hotel we got married in, so disappointed.

Attended my cousins wedding at this hotel, I was the head bridesmaid and the main point of contact on the day. The hotel looked wonderful, and my cousin was very happy with everything on the day. Throughout the entire wedding day I spoke with the hotel staff and they could not do enough for us, everything was first class. The food tasted so good and the evening bbq was ideal. It was quite warm on the dancefloor but that didn't stop us having a boogie. Thank you for everyone at the hotel that made this such a great day, my boyfriend and I have already booked again so we can go to Bath and explore.

We have visited this hotel a couple of times in the past few months, as our daughter is attending University in Bath. We found the hotel an ideal base for travelling in and out of Bath and the scenery and views are outstanding. Rooms are situated either in the main hotel building or in a building called the Coach House, which we were informed was a converted barn. The bedroom offered fantastic views over the gardens and the local countryside, we thoroughly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, compliments to the chef, and my steak was cooked perfectly. We will certainly visit again when we drop our daughter off at University later this year.

Stayed here recently for a 2 night break, our room was in the Coach House which overlooked the Vineyard, room was a good size with all the expected facilities. The restaurant served a good menu and food was nothing short of superb, as was the service by a young lady (sorry didn't get her name). The ground and gardens were extensive and very enjoyable to walk around, there is a small terrace where we had a few drinks before and after dinner. We will be back again in August.

My best advice to you is not to book any weddings at this place the organisation was disgusting and the food was terrible specially in the evening when I had a sandwich I found a piece of string metal which I presume was from the scouring pad in my sandwich. And if this sandwich was consumed by a child that could cause serious damage to that child. So my best advice do not book this for a wedding venue.

If they could care of all details as a country house deserve should be a lovely place. Unfortunately is managed by a big standard chain and part of the experience is linked to some details that should be considered.

A wonderful room ,No 36, with views of the beatifull sweepng grounds The staff were exeptionall and the buffet breakfast could not be faulted . The dinning room was delighful with views to the gardens.

We really enjoyed our 3night stay here .staff very helpful,especially I would like to mention Jo on reception . We look forward to our next stay with you hopefully not to far away .very well located for the town center and the walks ion the canal

Very Very Good in all areas 10/10 could not fault, helped by excellent weather, rooms and facilities tip top, service polite and professional, room was great apart from being over the kitchen hence a trifle noisy first thing but hey they have to operate don't they? more than made up with the excellent breakfast, gardens were in excellent order, all round very good experience.

We stayed @ Leigh Park Hotel for 2 nights while visiting our son in Bradford on Avon. The location was good & only 10-15 minute walk to town centre & local taxi cost about £8. Its an old building with nice grounds & popular for weddings. Rooms were clean & comfortable. Will stay here again when visiting family.

Lovely hotel with beautiful grounds and aspect. Our room in the Coach House was comfortable and nicely decorated. The staff were very busy and seemed to be covering many tasks but were always helpful and polite. Breakfast choice was good rather than extensive and was tasty. We also had the 3 course dinner option both nights and it was very nice. As previously mentioned, the bar area is quite small for a large group. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Have stayed at this hotel for 4 years. The food has always been 1st class. Tonight the service was outstanding, the young serving assistance Paddy dealt with all customers with a smile on his face and answered difficult questions from another party with ease. He is a credit to the hotel.

Room freezing cold, dark dingy, no amenities, very uncomfortable worn out bed, old-fashioned lights which didn't work, room overlooked by cars parking outside the window, so no natural light. Staff were Very helpful friendly, nothing too much trouble. We didn't complain about the issues with the room, because we were attending a wedding there. The wedding was excellent, But we wouldn't choose to stay there again. Should have been a much higher spec, for the price paid.

Arranged to meet friends for a weekend away. Adequate double room overlooking the extensive grounds. What was so disappointing was the lack of areas to sit/chat and enjoy a drink. A small “cocktail style “ bar with minimal seating leading to a conservatory area with inadequate seating for a hotel of this size. Arrived on a Friday afternoon and understood a wedding was to take place on the Saturday so guests staying over monopolised all available limited areas to congregate. The wedding itself was held in the adjoining part with own bar/restaurant facilities so the Saturday evening was slightly better and we were certainly not bothered by any noise. Staff all very friendly, standard, dated, double room was acceptable for the price. Breakfast was OK although tea/coffee served from flask style containers tasted stale and stewed. The grounds are well maintained with lovely views across the countryside - a good size conservatory/bar would certainly make a good addition and attraction to this hotel. Just somewhere to comfortably sit and enjoy the surroundings. Bradford on Avon just a few minutes drive down the road offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants and a taxi was only just over a fiver. Value for money for this type of chain hotel but doubt if I would choose to stay again there.

Stayed here for 3 nights booked through hotels.com. Check in was good room clean and spacious. The first night first of all had no cold water then no water at all. The hotel called a plumber they had to call a plumber out the day before not the same in that came out this time anyway he had turned off the hotels main stop cock so this was only for a few hours without water. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant the first night it was really nice menu changes daily VERY NICE. Breakfast was lovely good choice and lots of it. I can not fault it around the edges needs attention but we have had 2 years of covid lo lockdown. It was nice to go back to a break and be normal. The staff all the staff including management polite caring attentive. Would not hesitate to go back and it is VERY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY. Thank you.

Thank you to all the staff at the Leigh Park.for making this a very special weekend for my parents Diamond Wedding Anniversary. The private dining room was ideal for our family group of 11 and the food was delicious. All of the bedrooms seems to be a little different in the hotel and we had 6 rooms in total booked for two nights and although some are definitely grander than others, our twin room on the top floor was smaller than some of the rooms but very charming and clean with beautiful views over the countryside. Thank you to Pam and Cindy especially. To Pam, for helping with planning the weekend and for Cindy for making all of us feel very welcome during our stay. The little touches the staff do are what makes this hotel the warm place it is and set it apart from the everyday hotels and I would recommend it to anyone wishing to plan a family event such as this.

I have now stayed at Leigh Park three times. I come down once a month usually but, as we all know, the last two years have been "unprecedented!!!" I used to stay at the Limpley Stoke but found the 10 mile drive back and forth to Trowbridge tiresome. Then I found this hotel - same chain - which is literally 2 miles away from my destination. My first stay was disappointing because I booked a room with a view but the view turned out to be a red car outside my window!! The manageress was lovely and told me to have a specific room the next time, which I did, so I have now stayed three times. The food has been perfect each time and the staff really could not have been more helpful. I unfortunately use crutches so the extremely kind attitude of the staff when it comes to my luggage - I do pack the kitchen sink - or room service as I hate struggling in to the restaurant is much appreciated. The rooms are clean, tidy, well-equipped and, if you do need something extra like a fan , a member of staff is always ready to help.

I stayed here recently to find out that my Room wasn't turned around the whole of the 4 days. Their excuse was Covid!! Heater in the room never worked. Upon having to ask for toilet rolls they were just dumped on the floor outside my room. The menu was practically the same every day with very little Choice. Breakfast was bland and eggs were scramble every day and snotty and watery. Have to say this is the worst Hotel I have stayed in. And I stay In alot of Hotels every week. Plus note if there is one Staff are pleasant and the young Manager was very good and helpful. If I was him I would find a better chain of Hotels to Work for nothing else to. Say I'm afraid. I hope this helps when choosing where to stay.

My boyfriend and I had the best time here, we extended our stay twice so we stayed for 10 nights in total. The staff was incredibly kind and friendly. The room was very cosy and very elegant and gave a real home feeling.

January and not many other guests. Less than happy check in experience. Room nice and warm and very quiet - slept well. Tetley tea - bring your own teabags if fussy. Felt safe and car parking safe also. Prepare to hear the same Tom Jones song over and over for days. Still better than modern rubbish but variety is the spice of life! Handsome building but accommodation in seperate building before you carry it all to the wrong place. Staff doing their best.

Fabulous building and setting but needs updating. The room was comfortable with good crisp white sheets and nice towels and generally clean except for some cobwebs. Dinner was very good. Short menu but varied choice and excellent food and wine. Breakfast was disappointing with limited choice. Staff were fabulous, very friendly and helpful

Loved the location and the Hotel, but it really needs urgent updating, we booked two rooms for ourselves and our friends, our room had a faulty blind in the bathroom, our friends had damp walls with the wallpaper peeling off right across the top of the window. Real shame as the historic building could command a lot more business . Would give five stars for the staff as they were very good.

We arrived to a warm welcome at Leigh Park Hotel for New Years Eve gala dinner and dance and overnight stay. I could not fault the beautiful meal , excellent singer , service and all the staff were really attentive. After a lovely evening a good nights sleep , we enjoyed a hearty breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble . I would thoroughly recommend and our experience was great value for money.

Our 5 night stay in Leigh Park Hotel was outstanding for a number of reasons. The venue has a wonderful Georgian atmosphere with all the modern conveniences for our comfort. Since international travel was involved we changed our booking several times. Nothing was too much trouble. Pam, the General Manager, and all her staff made our stay enjoyable and unforgettable. Our schedule only allowed us to dine in the restaurant for one night and we are so glad we did. Super atmosphere, fresh delicious well-presented food and excellent wine list. The hotel and its setting are amazing with beautiful views of beautiful Wiltshire countryside and within easy drive or energetic walk to Bradford-on-Avon, and pleasant drive to Bath. Leigh Park Hotel is definitely on our list to return one day.

On the outskirts of Bradford on Avon. If you like walking it's about 20 minutes to get to the town, which has many places of interest. The hotel itself was great value. We had 3 nights here, and used it as a base to explore Bath and BOA. All staff we met were friendly, the food was excellent and the menu changed each day. We had a nice room overlooking the gardens. Plenty of parking. Reasonable price paid for our stay. Based on our experience here we will probably come back and use it as a base to explore other parts of the country. Nice wedding venue!

The hotel is located just outside of Bradford on Avon and has a large grounds and onsite vineyard which are great for an evening stroll rounds the grounds. The hotel compromises of the main building and the annexed 'coach house'. On the two occasions I have stayed I have been located in both buildings and the rooms were both superior executives which boasted a large floor space, king size bed and large bathroom. The food in the restaurant for the evening tea and breakfast was very nice, on the evenings the service was slightly slow but this was justified from the quality of the freshly prepared and cooked food. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a nice night away or whilst staying on business.

My room smelt of mould and everything that I took into the room came out smelling of mould. The towel rail heater in the bathroom of my room was completely inadequate to hear the room - especially as it only became lukewarm at best. As I was there for a conference I was reliant on the hotel for food. The breakfast was adequate but no more. The dinners were awful - the food took ages to come though we had been asked to order it earlier in the day. When it did come it was cold or at best tepid. Who wants a cold duck breast sitting on cold potatoes with a congealing sauce on a cold plate? Who wants cold sticky toffee pudding? Who wants a waiter with dreadful BO?

This hotel is in a great location from central Bath. The hotel is extremely good value for money. The room was spacious and we even got a free upgrade on our second night! Breakfast had a variety of different options.

Where do I start, the staff all work so dam hard and were so helpful to assist. We had booked two nights here for my sons wedding and they couldnt be more helpful. The evening meal with the family was fantastic, my step dad even said it was the best burger he ever tasted, it was excellent. I had to get ready early for the wedding the next day and they opened up early for me to have breakfast and I felt like a princess being waited on and the ingredients were 5 star, tasty good quality sausages to nice thick bacon and not greasy. Compliments to the chef. The wedding venue all round was beautiful and the meal was again so tasty and hot, every guest was fed and happy. I kept hearing comments about how good the venue was and staff and the meal was excellent. I credit even goes out to the young lads serving behind the bar, they were brilliant dealing with our guests who had to much to drink and great dancers. Now I did have an issue with my room but thats the corporates faults and certainly not the staff, they did everything to help and again credit goes out to the chefs, everyone in the party said what tasty breakfast it was, ok you had to book a time but this wasnt an issue as other comments on here said. Give the staff credit, they are dealing with shortages etc and are working long hours and still smiling. If you want a good day for your wedding (we had 50 people) this is the place, great views, excellent food, helpful staff and a short walk to large rooms for the night. Overall excellent weekend was had and certainly recommend this place.

Visiting BOA for a birthday and wedding celebration I had left it a little late so selection of places to stay was very limited. A last minute choice I was satisfied to find somewhere to lay my head. The Leigh Park was surprisingly more than i expected. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. My room was well appointed very large and and far more excellent value than rooms I have paid three times as much for,. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

Nice looking place, however we booked an executive double room, when we arrived there was nothing executive about it. It was so cold in there, but the heating couldn't be turned on as it was on a timer. The shower was cold, no matter what time of day.

Booked a two night stay for our anniversary in Sept. On entering our room in the coach house there was an unpleasant smell, my husband showered and the water was rising in the very shallow shower tray, we realised it was obviously blocked so we called reception, the Duty Manager came up with a young man and a plunger, when he plunged the shower trap, it came up with a high amount of old hair and debris of gunk and slime, he even said himself “that is awful” it was absolutely disgusting and stunk, They couldn't resolve the problem, so I couldn't shower and no other room was offered. We had a broken chair in our room so it couldn't be used, these two issues should of be picked up by the room maid surely. We went down for dinner, two items we wanted to order were not on the menu, no brown rolls and we were completely ignored by the duty manager, who originally came to our room, he went to every table asking “how was your food” but never came to us. We did ask him about this in a quiet place and he said to speak to the manager in the morning. We had breakfast which was fine but I didn't find food safety and cleanliness was great so we only had cereals that was in closed boxes. We then went look for the General manager who was sitting at the reception desk, we said we are here to speak to the Manager and gave our name, her response was, “oh I've heard about you, Oh dear !! what a rude lady she was, she blamed everyone else including delivery drivers, said the three young men in the restaurant are new and haven't been trained properly ( is that not her job to make sure staff are trained) to be fair the three young men were very polite just didn't know what to do. She really wasn't listening us, had no empathy was so ever, so we said we are not staying another night especially as we couldn't shower. We didn't pay for the night we didn't stay, but still had pay for the night we did and for dinner and breakfast, on leaving her last remarks were “at least some of our clients are happy “ & “you won't find any else to stay” As we were leaving the house maids and the General Manager we're all standing at the back watching us leave. The whole experience was a disaster, the hotel needs lots of TLC and so do the staff. We understand times are hard at the moment especially Hospitality, but they done themselves no favours. Josh the restaurant manager who greeted us for breakfast was absolutely superb, the only friendly person in the building.

After first being told they didn't have any family rooms and being quoted for 2 rooms, we were eventually given a room with a double and a single bed. Staff seemed rude during our stay. Couldn't eat some of the food as it was over cooked. Won't be going back. Condensation covered the windows (that couldn't be opened) in the morning, so much so that it was dripping off and landing on plug socket.

Good location. Friendly staff. In my opinion my room was overpriced based on my experience and the quality of facilities. The room was big and nicely decorated, bed comfortable but one window rattled all night as the catch was broken and I had to ask for the toilet to be cleaned when I arrived. The hotel staff did this straight away.

Bed was uncomfortable, bath had not been cleaned, heard a lot of guests complaining about the meal! Waiting up to two hours for food! Must say though that staff were very kind and professional. Overall would not go back.

Pros: The staff were friendly, free parking, spacious Cons: dated tired interior, We were there for a wedding and the food was more like a school dinner. The interior is not just tired but blinds and other things were faulty. The breakfast was pretty terrible also

The room was clean and did have reasonable facilities. We had breakfast the first day of our stay which was a big disappointment. Scrambled egg that tasted as though it was a packet mix, Hash Browns which were soggy, sausages & bacon which tasted very synthetic. After this experience we ate in other places for breakfast, we had booked in as B & B only, thank goodness we did, goodness knows what the evening meal would have been like. There was no curtain over the bathroom window and no opaque glass. There was a net curtain track, so there had been a net at one time. Reported this to reception, they said they knew about it and there wasnt a need for a curtain as in there opinion no one could see in the window., this wasnt true as when the light was on you could clearly see inside the bathroom from the ground, I hung the bath mat over the window when I was in there.

This hotel was a real mixed bag. For anyone wanting an honest review of what it's like to stay in this hotel, here you go: Pros: - Location: located about 15-20 mins drive from the middle of Bath, it's ideal for those who don't want to stay in the hustle and bustle of it, but within a reasonable distance to commute in and out. - Cleanliness: the main areas of the room that you'd want to be clean (bathroom and bed linen) were clean. - Staff: the lady on the front desk (not sure of her first name but her surname was McBryde) was lovely – genuinely kind and friendly and a pleasure to deal with. - Price: generally, I think this would prove to be a cheaper option than central Bath, and you can park your car for free. - Spacious: our room was very spacious and felt larger with the vaulted ceiling. Cons: - Noise: we knew prior to arriving that it was likely a wedding would be taking place during our stay so we were prepared for that. What I don't understand though is why rooms in the Coach House are left for guests who aren't attending the wedding? Surely wedding guests should be placed in these first and foremost? Our room was right outside the doors to the wedding reception room, meaning we were incredibly close to the party and noise. The music itself wasn't incredibly disturbing for us (as it's a constant noise, we eventually got used to it – like having a fan on or something), but the guests going in and out of the venue for air/cigarettes was. We had guests shouting/laughing/talking right outside our room window, as well as kids screaming and crying throughout the evening. The room was warm so we couldn't close the window, and the only fan in the room was covered with dust and hadn't been cleaned for a long time. Surely this room should be given to wedding guests? People who will actually be enjoying the wedding for the evening and who will only be going to bed once the wedding is over – thus not being disturbed by the noise? Plus, we also got noise in the morning from an extractor fan (I assume coming from the kitchen?) as well as staff standing outside smoking. Largely, the staff who did stand there were quiet – but on a couple of occasions we were disturbed. - Price: the room we got was spacious and, on the whole, it was clean. But given that the venue know a wedding will be taking place and thus know that that persons sleep is highly likely to be disturbed, to still charge £180 seems incredulous to me. As I said before, we were aware that a wedding would likely be taking place. What we didn't expect was to have a room right outside the venue where people congregate to chat/smoke/shout at their kids etc. A bit of music noise and mild disturbance was expected but, having paid for an executive double room, I didn't expect the level of disturbance we inevitably had. - Cleanliness: as mentioned, the room on the whole was clean, but attention to detail was lacking. The fan in the room was covered with dust, and certain things outside of eye level (up and/or down) hadn't been cleaned. We noticed a couple of hairs on the bathroom floor and a very small stain on the bed linen but the general standard of cleanliness was fine. - Furnishings: fairly old fashioned and the mattress was low quality. Curtains kept coming off the hooks. £180 for a room which only had a view of the building opposite; was affected by music, guest and staff noise; and wasn't furnished brilliantly… just seems like a bit of a joke. If the price of the room is non-negotiable, surely guests can be offered some sort of “compensation”? Free breakfast perhaps? Either way, I probably wouldn't stay here again unless the price was dramatically reduced, or I was assured a room at the opposite end of the hotel to the wedding reception.

A two night stay that turned into one night due to illness. We had read some negative reviews so not sure what to expect. When I realised there was a big wedding taking place my heart and any expectations dropped. But we were so pleased and delighted at what we experienced. Dinner was good, I had hummus and chunky bread starter, followed by lamb loin served with a medley of fresh vegetables. Wine was very good. The staff were excellent, from registering, to telling them we needed to leave early they couldn't have been more helpful. We only payed £75 a night and it was a nicely decorated clean room. Complain would be that room 31 was noisy but when I mentioned it in conversation to the duty manager he arranged for us to be moved to a better room the following day, sadly we had to leave so never did see this room. The views from the gardens across the Somerset Hills was special. We hope to return one day and can certainly recommend a stay.

superb hotel. Our room was spacious and very quiet. Internet was fast and free. The breakfast was a buffet offering cereals, pastries as well as a full English option along with tea, coffee and juices.

A very pleasant stay, just the one night. It was a delightful property in a very nice area. Didn't really experience much of the hotel services as it was a late check in and an early departure. Would recommend this hotel.

Stayed for one night on a Saturday with my husband as we were in the area for his birthday. Didn't have the breakfast or eat at the hotel so can't comment on that. The grounds and surroundings were pretty and it's not too to far to walk into Bradford on Avon. We stayed in a room in the Coach House which exceeded my expectations. It was spacious and spotless. Couldn't hear the wedding which was going on. Huge bed which was really comfy. My only slight quibbles would be that the shower was either powerful or warm, you couldn't have both and the entrance to the coach house was being used as storage for some chairs and towels/linens which didn't make for a nice entrance area or first impression of the building.

Executive suite bed very wide but too short, and the mattress was hard and lumpy. The room had not been cleaned thoroughly, even on kettle and tea tray. However, the room was quiet and within easy reach of car park.

We stayed for 2 nights to attend a family wedding. The hotel catered very well for the wedding, I think they had about 5 weddings in a row that week. It was a comfortable room & enjoyable stay. The breakfast was well catered for myself as I am coeliac & lactose intolerant.

I got married at Leigh Park Hotel on Friday 3rd September and it couldn't be more perfect! As the bride, I stayed the night before with my bridesmaids and my wedding night with my husband! Both rooms were so clean and well presented, beds comfortable and included everything we needed. The staff could not be more helpful, the duty manager was great, nothing was too much trouble and he answered any question or problem I had confidently. The reception and bar staff were lovely! Quite a few of our family members and friends also stayed at the hotel the night of the wedding and all had great things to say about the accommodation and staff. Thank you so much Leigh park for making our wedding day so special, a day we feel like we have waited for so long due to Covid! If anyone is looking for a beautiful wedding venue I would highly recommend leigh park hotel.

After calling for 2 weeks trying to book a room for a friends wedding, i findally got thorough and was quoted a very high amount for a twin room (if they had one, as the lady kept saying). After speaking to the bride before checking we were then quoted £90, which we would not complain about because it was our friends day. I called 4 days before arriving asking if i needed ot book an early check in or if we could check in before the ceremony as we were there for the wedding which started at 2, i was told to simply turn up and the room would be ready - great! Well i went to check in on the day of the wedding, not yet in my best dress to be told that no, i would not be able to check in before the ceremony as i had been told days before, eventually the lady went to see if my room was ready and it was - crisis averted... So i thought. I got into the room and was hit in the face by how moist, warm and mildewy it smelled. We didn't have time to complain at the time as we needed ot get ready so we cracked a window to try and get the ventilation going. The drink selection and mixer quality is poor but the service wasn't bad (although i did have to keep asking for them to top the pints up as the glasses stated pint to the rim not an inch down...) We were advised that check in was at 11 and when we got up and went for breakfast at 09:30 we were told breakfast stopped at 9. The beds were very soft but not uncomfortable. Overall i would not stay again because of the state of the mouldy, damp mildewy walls for the grand old price of £90. i would much rather pay an extra £20 and stay at a much nicer hotel int he local area!

Definitely not worth the £110 a night we were charged. Disappointing to say the least. Tiny room in need of drastic update. Bed was so small and mattress so bad husband and I nearly fell out of it. Room not properly cleaned as used soap and shampoo bottles in the shower, and the shower although it looked quite good was rubbish as leaked all out of the top. Overpriced meals with ‘green' vegetables going grey, fish overcooked and the meal actually cold. No aircon so tiny window open and people chat at all times of the night. Directly over a wedding venue with no real sound proofing so could hear it all. Have stayed in better budget hotels for much less. Don't waste your money

Here's the pros and cons... the hotel exterior and grounds are beautiful and as you would expect from a Best Western hotel. The car park is sufficient. The interior is such a shame for such a grand building. It's in need of some cash injection and decor updating. The wallpaper and carpets need attention especially as this is what a customer sees. The room we stayed in (43) was large and tidy, but unfortunately we don't enjoy seeing hairs from someone else's groin in the bed and bath, nor do we enjoy seeing rusty plugs, chipped bath enamel, broken bedroom furniture or stains in the duvet and mattress. I know Best Western can do so much better than this as I've stayed at other sites. The staff are courteous, the breakfast is a good standard, the bar meals are average. It's not bad, it just could be so much better. Please Best Western, take a look and see the obvious things that stop you from obtaining a 4 star rating. It just needs a fresh pair of eyes and a quick update

We stayed here whilst attending a wedding nearby. We booked an executive room which was very clean and comfortable, with a modern en-suite shower room. The breakfast was adequate, and the staff all very polite and courteous. There is ample car parking, and the grounds of the hotel are well maintained and a lovely feature of the property. This is not an expensive hotel and in my opinion is good value, especially for its location.

The hotel was really good. Room very good, good nights sleep. Staff helpful and friendly, several new to the job. Just avoid the restaurant for dinner. Very poor quality, burgers better in McDonalds. Thai spices appalling, chicken so tough it could not be eaten.

Very dated hotel needs a major up date. Tried charging me for and evening meal that had already been paid for. Also booked b and b then tried saying I had book bed only. Got very aggressive when told it was paid for in booking. WILL NOT JUST NOT BE STAYING IN THIS HOTEL BUT ALL BEST WESTERN HOTELS

Improved since my last visit - I was stopping in a different building to last time and it seemed to back all the difference. Quality bedding, good shower that was clearly fairly new or well looked after. Staff member on the evening was really helpful and went out of his way quite late on in the night to get me a hairdryer.

nothing was to much trouble, one downside the matress in room 20 was very lumpy it would have Ok if the window could be opened even a fraction, the outside siting area was 7empting if the weather was fine

Beautifully advertised amazing pictures, Myself and my wife came to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary Looking at the pictures, seeing the rooms, it all looked amazing We turned up really friendly staff, great welcome However once we got to our room we discovered that firstly the room door was open the rooms weren't like the pictures, we seemed to be in the attic, no iron or ironing board In the room, We ordered a room For 2 adults but got 2 beds, for £120 I'd at least expect a kingsize bed, We had 1 dirty cup and a hole in a door Although the food was great and value for money the room was not worth £120 Should have been no more than £70 we didn't fuss because the staff were really friendly and nice But hey you live and you learn.

We stayed at the Leigh Park Hotel as we were there for a friends wedding. Start to finish the staff were amazing. We felt like old friends rather than paying guests. On arrival our room was not quite ready (we were early for 3pm check in). We left our bag with reception and a lovely lady came and found us when the room was ready and gave us our keys. The wedding reception was great. Kind helpful staff. My daughter stung her foot (running barefoot on the grass!). I asked for ice and vinegar to treat. While calming her, the bar manager came over and offered to call 111 if needed and ask us to inform him if we needed assistance or if she had a reaction. My daughter is a drama Queen! But as the manager didn't know this he was very kind in the offer to assist. Food at the reception (especially the little bread and chilli jam canapés) was great! We checked out our room after we'd eaten - WOW! huge bed, fluffy pillow, traditionally decorated, and SOOO clean. I can be very picky, but this was spotless! I would recommend a stay here if you are exploring the beautiful local area. I couldn't fault a single thing, from our welcome, the care we got for our daughter, the friendly staff and excellent food - breakfast is a treat! We will return

Lovely hotel, fantastic views and really helpful staff. can be a little busy when weddings are taking place but the staff do an amazing job of adapting and also keeping noise to a minimum. the rooms can be a little warm when the weather is exceptionally hot, but it is very relaxed and has a feeling of holiness and safety. you can walk into the local town within about 15-20 minutes.

Checked in at 6.30pm to a room that had not been serviced after the previous occupants, the room smelt, it was littered with beer cans ans bottles. Disappointing After a three hour journey in the heat

In short we were put in a room above a wedding reception when we had nothing to do with the wedding. It was extremely hot and as there is no air con or fans in the room we had to have the windows open and could literally hear the guests' conversations. We asked to be moved but were told they were full. When we had checked in the recetionist realised we were over the reception but assured us that there would be no music or party. They were wrong. I don't blame the wedding party - but to put a non-wedding guest that close to the wedding is just incompetence. We were assured it would be done by midnight - we went to bed at half ten as had an early start! They finally finished at 1. We got told they didn't know why we had been put there and a half sorry. Maybe they shouldn't take other guests when they have a wedding on if they can't cope? Shame as the location of the hotel is stunning. I just got the feeling they didn't care. Shame on you Best Western. Maybe rename it Worst Western. Not what I expect.

Very nice looking hotel set in spacious, pleasant grounds Pleasant room with nice, very clean bathroom. As it's an old building the windows are not frosted and there are no net curtains. Our room overlooked another building so we felt very exposed, especially in the bathroom where the blind was broken. Breakfast is in a lovely modern conservatory extension but the breakfast buffet was disappointing. Steer clear of the hot food which seems to have been kept warm for hours - rubbery scrambled egg- yuck!

We had our wedding at the hotel on the 26 June 2021. Nothing was too much trouble had a wonderful day. The food and hospitality was amazing. We would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking to get married here.

Extremely satisfied with our stay. Excellent location, fantastic staff. Would recommend this hotel to family and friends. My sisters wedding day was made exceptionally amazing. Stayed 1st week of reopening after lockdown in a coach house room. There was no Covid procedure information in the room, a photocopy could be destroyed after each visitor. The telephone had no instructions, so to get WiFi code I rang reception from my mobile, maybe the room phone should not have been there! The room was recently decorated and spacious. 2 light bulbs didn't work and it took 2 of us to work out where and how to turn on the heated bathroom towel rail. Dinner was in the beautiful conservatory at suitably spaced tables with good service. No frozen peas to replace the mushy peas with the fish and chips. Breakfast was very disappointing, no soya milk although ordered, just sliced loaf to toast, no pastries left as they didn't expect to have as many guests! Only weetabix or cornflakes, not continental breakfast at all. We did tell the manager of our issues at checkout, she accepted our complaints, to ensure they improve for future guests. Shame to not get it right for their 1st guests.

I chose the hotel for it's great location, close to Bath, Lacock Abbey & Bradford on Avon & only 25 minutes from the M4. The hotel is full of character, with a lovely dining/breakfast room over looking the grounds & patio, ideal for an after breakfast coffee or pre dinner drinks. Our double room was of adequate size & complete with a full bathroom with shower over the bath, both were tastefully furnished & clean with a comfortable bed. One slight annoyance was there was an outside light over the Coach House & driveway which shone into the bedroom regardless of the blackout curtains. It could be dimmed or turned downwards to reduce this. It didn't spoil our stay. All the staff were happy, friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We added breakfast & dinner to our stay, both were excellent, well prepared, served with substantial portions. There was ample free parking.

Unfortunately our shower base was filthy it was cleaned at my request but when I went to get my key back there was no apology in fact this particular member of staff was quite rude. Really disappointing for such a nice hotel. Considering there is a pandemic the rooms and bathrooms shout be spotless, this was pretty disgusting it was like they had thrown the dirty water from a mop bucket down there but not cleaned it after.

We had a fantastic value for money stay. The view from the room were lovely, the staff friendly and the breakfast in the conservatory was lovely because of the atmosphere (although music could be a bit more relaxing) and views and decor. It was a great hotel I would be happy to come back to.

The booking was for a wedding that was cancelled, due to COVID The hotel refused to refund the room. I had no other reason to move the date of my stay or stay at an alternative hotel, both of which were offered. So decided to meet family and use the room. Leading up to the stay there was confusion about my booking, members of staff at reception, although polite, having either no record of it, or the incorrect checkout date. The hotel décor is rather tired, the executive double room, apart from size, having very little in the way of luxury for the price. The notice on the room door telling me the room had been thoroughly cleaned and sanitised due to COVID was just a piece of card. As soon as I took hold of the TV remote I saw that it was disgusting and had to clean it myself before use, and a foray behind the TV to establish why it was not working revealed a dirty and dusty plug socket. Having chosen to dine, I was disappointed that the menu was just very basic pub food, contrasting with the lunch I had had at a pub a few miles away the same day, serving interesting and high quality food. I appreciate that this was not the pre-COVID menu but don't really understand the necessity for such a restricted menu. The staff serving at dinner and breakfast were attentive and efficient. In fairness I was not well disposed towards Leigh Park before I arrived because of the way they had treated the couple due to be married; lack of communication being a major issue, but I have based this review on facts. A disappointing stay.

We were given a magnificent welcome, 5 stars in every way. Steak and chips on a Monday lunchtime is almost unheard of so we were lucky to find this restaurant. Many thanks to Pam, Josh and all the team for helping make my birthday very special.

We stayed two nights. Even in the current virus situation we very much enjoyed the hospitality offered. A large bedroom with everything we needed, tv, good size bathroom, tea and coffee making facility. Our room had a good view. Very reasonable price. Food is good, staff are exceptionally helpful and courteous. Maybe some aspects of decoration could be improved but given the hard time hotels and restaurants have gone through we appreciated the relaxing, comfortable days spent at the Leigh Park Hotel for a most reasonable price. Thanks to all for a great break.

Hotel was located in quiet neighbourhood. We took there bus from Bath, way from bus stop even in the night was piece of cake. Thanks to my BWR card status we were greated wih welcome drink on the house which was very nice. Guy who checked us in and served in the bar was really nice and friendly. Unfortunately i don't remember his name. Room was really spacios and cuz we had bahtub we could relax after long journey from London. I will definitelly go back.

The size of the room was ok but the interiors and the surroundings of the hotel are really poor. The breakfast was also disappointing. I found a ball of hair in my bathroom . The guys serving breakfast were polite and nice to talk to but unfortunately I can not say the same thing about the receptionist. " Checking in ?" she asked when she saw me. No "welcome " , no "Hello, can I help you ?". Let alone a smile.

I stayed at Leigh Park Hotel for 2 days. The room was not bad but the surroundings and the interiors of the hotel are really poor. I did a great efford to hide my surpise when the receptionist said to me "checking in ?" when I arrived . No "Hello", no "good afternoon" no "welcome". I felt like I was disturbing her!! Let alone a smile. " I got the payment " she informed me with a strict tone of voice !! I found a ball of red hair in the bathroom!!!

The hotel is very good value. A period building, but does now require a bit of maintenance. The ground are beautiful, with a lovely outside terrace and a large conservatory restaurant area to enjoy the views over the gardens. A short walk in Bradford on Avon, which is simply lovely. Our room was spacious and clean with good tea making facilities. Large bathroom well equipped. Breakfast was lovely sitting in the conservatory overlooking the well kept grounds.

Excellent service from all staff from booking direct with hotel reception staff bar staff waiter/waitress. Hotel very on top of Covid measures felt very safe, dinner and breakfast quality again excellent. The cherry on the cake was that we were upgraded to a fabulous room on the first floor overlooking the gardens all in all an excellent stay in a beautiful building we only stayed one night due to business commitments but we will be back.

Shared a twin room which was clean and spacious. The beds were really comfortable. Our food was pre-ordered and it was well presented and served and delicious. Social distancing and other Covid measures were put in place to ensure our stay was safe and enjoyable. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Several members of our party were vegetarian and vegan and a good selection was provided for them. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and the location is very peaceful. I would recommend Leigh Park to others.

We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend for a last minute break as we wanted somewhere away from the hustle and bustle. We arrived very early, parked the car and walked 15 mins into town (be warned it is a pretty steep hill on the way back!). Our room was in the Vendange Suite and cannot complain at all. Very clean, pretty modern, large double window that opened to an unspoilt view of the area. Did have an issue at around 1.00am on the Sat night when 3 other rooms in this building decided to have a party, no answer from the night porter to sort it so I dealt with it and then there was silence. Bar area nowhere near as bad as complaints on here, yes its small but the lounge and garden very comfortable. Glasses matched the drinks, nice tall pint glass with the Atlantic IPA. We didn't eat in the restaurant as we walked down to town again. Breakfast, whilst limited was cooked very well, if you wanted more you only needed to ask rather than complain later. I think people need to put things into perspective and appreciate the efforts and challenges of the hospitality industry in getting back to business.

To keep it brief: - beautiful hotel but dirty and neglected (cob webs, broken window in the restaurant, dust, spiders). - Limited bar, limited menu (but I get it as it's everywhere atm). - comfy and specious bedroom, large bed, clean with awesome views and amazing vineyard with apple trees and veg. No hair dryer in the room or in reception. Dark bathroom. Nothing to complain about. - Dinner - one guy serving, running around, you feel forgotten, they leave a tray on the table forever, cheap glasses, no decor, really wouldn't eat there again. I'd rather drive somewhere for a meal. - Breakfast - we booked for 9 am. We got seated immediately but some people were waiting for 15-20 minutes standing at the door as 2 people weren't managing to serve, take orders and clean tables. It was meant to be lovely atmosphere, instead we all felt like a nuisance! We waited until 9.45 to have our coffee and tea order taken. Yes, that's 45 minutes of sitting and watching this absolute misery. The lady serving said they are understaffed and she had to cover the reception and the restaurant - frankly, that's not what I want to listen to when I pay £140 per night!! Only two options on the menu - full English or vegan full English. They forgot my water, my breakfast arrived with no bacon only because I ordered vegan sausages they made an assumption I was a vegan (but they put an egg on my plate!)! By the time they came back with my bacon and water, everything was cold. You get 1(!!!) slice of toast each with an egg on it. When I asked where the jams are and butter as it says in the menu, she came back with them but didn't ask if she wanted more toast. Sorry, but shall I eat jam on its own with a teaspoon? What's the logic to it?? The menu also said a cereal bar each - we didn't get anything. Staff dressed casually, sporty trainers, completely degrading the whole thing. The hotel has a lot of amazing potential to be a quiet and decent place where people feel relaxed. This was just ridiculous! I deeply regret eating over there. Please don't eat there, totally not worth it, not organised, confused, they can't even follow the set menu and being everything on the tray to you without forgetting 10 times. - @Management - please put more staff in and save this business!! Surely there's a local person willing to do 2-3 hours breakfast and dinner whenever needed, you don't even need to employ anyone on fixed hours. I'd love to return as the hotel and the views are amazing, but the theatre at the restaurant wouldn't allow me to spend more than £40/night and I wouldn't even eat there. Certainly not worth £140!!

We chose this hotel for the close proximity to Bath City Centre and we were not disappointed, under 20 minute drive. Bradford on Avon is a beautiful village a 15 minute walk away (downhill). The hotel offered a online check in prior to arrival, which sped up the check in. The room was 'executive' although it was standard for me, however the bed was huge! A hairdryer would have been useful, I made do with the fan. We had to request extra toilet roll, due to covid the hotel understandably are not offering daily turn down service.

Beautiful building, friendly receptionist. Bed was very uncomfortable and the room had some sort boiler next door that kept firing up all night that kept waking us. Room service food was nice, social distancing ok, breakfast was nice.

I am unsure on where to start really so I'll start with the positives; most of staff friendly, lovely grounds and beautiful building from the outside sadly that's all the good out of the way. The room we were given was a ground floor room designed for disabled access, which is great however, I would worry about having this room if you were disabled as the key to get in is high up on the door and is very tricky to open. The windows all had mould and mildew growing around the glass and one of them had a huge crack in it. The room also offers very limited privacy as the only window that opens, opens right out onto a terrace and right next to outdoor seating area. You also need to open the window because the room is boiling hot and smelly. The carpet was tired and needed replacing and the mattress was very uncomfortable. Both my partner and I slept really badly. Our bathroom was okay only there was someone else's beard trimmings along the top of the wooden surround and when I complained about it, the girl on reception wasn't at all apologetic. I told her we were going out for the day and when we got back I would like it to be cleaned. We were out from 9.30am-5.30 pm and when we got back it hadn't been rectified so I had to complain again. The manager came in and Looked and was a lovely lady and was very apologetic but it was too bad that we had to complain twice. The bar is incredibly limited and the soda water in my wine was flat. The Only beer oN draught was Carling and was served in a dirty glass which we had to send back. I also asked if there was any bar snacks ie crisps or nuts and I was told there was nothing due to Covid. The breakfast was an absolute joke, it's £11.95 for a “full English” which was tiny and included half a tomato and we never got our orange juice, I point blank just refused to pay for it as it really added insult to injury. The table outside our bedroom window was broken and in disrepair with an empty wine bottle just discarded on the top which was there for the entire 3 nights we stayed. We would have just walked out however there was no where else to stay locally. The trip was booked to celebrate our anniversary, which was spoiled by all the above. I will be taking my complaints further and have photographic proof of most of the things that I need to complain about, let's just hope best western can slightly redeem themselves with the way they handle my Official complaint. I don't often complain or do reviews, however, I felt the need to here due to the way the place is portrayed online and the reality of actually being there.

Lovely hotel set in well maintained grounds, just outside of Bradford on Avon. Spacious and well equipped, food was very nice with room service being available. The staff were very friendly and although running on a reduced team due to covid, nothing was too much trouble. Bradford is in walking distance (approx 15mins) and is a lovely part of the world with its historic buildings, river and canal plus a number of very nice restaurants and bars. Do prepare yourself for the walk home as the hill down definitely felt steeper on the way back up, or plan ahead and book a cab. We stayed in room 34 which was on the corner, with dual aspect views across the grounds and on to the countryside. If you look closely you can pick out The White Horse in the distance. All in all a great base to work from and we definitely visit again.

.........Worst hotel I have ever stayed in!!!!! Rooms smell, the food is awful, the beds are uncomfortable. I have absolutely nothing good to say about our experience! The hotel is so bad we only stayed for 1 of the 2 nights we had booked for. Awful, awful......don't waste your money!

Stayed here for one night sightseeing in Bradford on Avon and Bath. The location is excellent, good car parking and walkable into Bradford (albeit on some very steep roads). The hotel and grounds are beautiful from the outside. Inside it was very disappointing. Our room was on the top floor and was over 30 degrees inside. It was almost unbearable to sleep in. Windows had been closed all day and there is no air conditioning or fan. It was a shame no one thought to leave the windows open during the day to cool the room. The carpet was not very clean and the mattresses were old and lumpy. I had matress springs digging into my shoulder all night. The shower was quite new and really good, probably the best bit about the room. We had a few drinks in the evening. The staff were helpful but the bar was limited and drinks served in cheap, old glasses reminiscent of a working mens club. Food was similarly disappointing. Waited ages to be seated for breakfast, then sat at a table that hadn't been cleaned. No dairy-free milk was available despite the hotel serving a vegan breakfast. The food was passable, though uninspiring and a bit dry. This is a beautiful building with great potential to be a fabulous country hotel. However it hasn't been kept up to current standards and there isn't the care and attention to guests required to make this an enjoyable stay. Its a shame as it could be lovely with a bit more tlc.

My partner and I booked a room (bed and breakfast) the evening before we travelled after looking at various places to stay in the area and we are SO glad that we did! From the moment we arrived, the greeting at the reception desk was very impressive and welcoming. Even at this early stage we felt very safe and secure with the measures this hotel has put in place to keep everyone safe during this worrying time. There were hand sanitising stations throughout the whole building, screens were in place in the reception and bar area. All tables and chairs, even outside, were placed at least 1.5 m apart. Bar and restaurant staff were all wearing either masks or visors to keep us all safe (most impressive). We stayed in room 260, which is in the Coach House and on arrival into our room, the notice on the door explaining that the room had been completely sanitised and that no persons would enter the room apart from ourselves, unless requested. Even the remote control for tv was in a sealed plastic bag, along with the hotel information leaflet, which could also be accessed using an App on smartphone. The menus were also available via the app and ordering could also be done this way and food and drink delivered to your room if preferred. Covid-19 done......this hotel is a lovely place to stay with beautiful views over the Wiltshire Downs. All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. There is nothing they wouldn't do to make our stay a happy and memorable one! To the point that even after we'd had our breakfast, they delivered us a tray of fresh coffee on the patio area (at no extra charge even though we offered). The room was a brilliant size with enormous bed, which was extremely comfortable. The modern bathroom had walk in shower and piping hot water was available 24/7! We ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant and found the food to be excellent, good quality and professionally cooked and served. The hotel is set in the most glorious of grounds, which are kept immaculate, even down to the Vineyard. Our overall view of this hotel is excellent! At no time were we closer than 1m from another visitor or member or staff and felt safe and at ease! We were a little hesitant in going away during these 'difficult' times but can honestly say that we are so glad that we did, and that we chose this hotel! All of the staff, from the General Manager, Front of House down to the gardeners need to be commended on their efforts to make this hotel feel really safe, welcoming and enjoyable. We booked a one night stay at the hotel and we were happy with the local and the lovely grounds in which in the hotel sits. It was also great to have plenty of parking. The views from room 40 are good and the water pressure in the shower is excellent, but that is where it ended for us sadly. Room 40 has no air con and the mattress needs to be replaced. It was an uncomfortable night spent in the bed. The TV is on a lower shelf that is practically on the floor and you need to sit to use the toilet. Breakfast was just awful. Cheap, badly cooked and served. I appreciate that hotels are having to adapt in the current COVID crisis, but we had the opportunity to stay in a couple of hotels over the weekend as part of a little tour we were doing and sadly Leigh Park ranked significantly lower than the others.

This was our second stay at the Leigh Park, and it worked very well, despite the need for coronavirus precautions. The hotel is very well placed for a visit to Bradford on Avon, it's in a quiet part on the outskirts but less than a 20-minute walk from the town centre. The hotel has plenty of parking, and you can easily drive into town, but it's quite pleasant to stroll in and perhaps get a bus or a taxi back (it's uphill on the way back). Looking slightly further afield, it's very well located for visiting places such as Castle Combe, Bath, Lacock Abbey, etc. The hotel is set in very pleasant grounds, and has excellent views over the surrounding open countryside. Our room was clean and functional, and everything worked. The staff stayed out of the way unless called upon, because of covid-19, but were pleasant and helpful when needed – requests for extra pillows, etc., were dealt with immediately, and the only time I had to have a detailed discussion with Milan & Katie, the result was acceptable all round. We only used the restaurant for breakfast, but it was a very pleasant room and we enjoyed the food.

The hotel is lovely with soo much potential. The rooms are clean and very relaxing however the food, catering and service in the restaurant is horrific. I've had hair in my food, the wrong order many times and I genuinely think the chef can't read the orders. There is no structure on how to man the restaurant. I was asked what I wanted to eat and I wasn't given a menu. I had to wait 20 mins before I was asked if I wanted a drink. Every worker that has served me in the time I've stayed here has told me sorry but they won't put staff on to help in the kitchen. Once taken my order, 5 mins later I had someone else bringing me over a menu and askin if I would like to order. It's a complete shamble. They really don't have. Clue what they are doin there!! Don't get me started on breakfast time! U May aswell go cook the food yourself!

Lovely hotel with helpful and friendly staff who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel and the rooms we stayed in were well set up for dealing with the current pandemic. Given the circumstances, it was inevitable that the breakfast and evening meal menus would be restricted, but there was still plenty of choice and the food and service were excellent.

Lovely Hotel just outside Burton -on -Avon a must to visit .A pity COVID19 meant the hotel was quiet but the room was good overlooking the vineyard. A very relaxing stay and I would deferentially recommend it.

Lovely settings but poor quality food and decor, no breakfast available for me and so got that part refunded. Mould on walls, filthy bath water and poor TV signal I have stayed in many best western hotels of varying standards and quality, but I think this this one is the far from best! Friendly staff!

Visited Leigh Park Hotel this afternoon on the spur of the moment with 6 friends We were met by a very friendly and welcoming member of staff We were shown to the very pretty dining room were we enjoyed a gorgeous afternoon tea of scones jam and cream together with a selection of dainty cakes with pots of tea and coffee. Delicious. Infact one of the nicest afternoon teas we have enjoyed for sometime. We all agreed that we would encourage the Hotel to offer afternoon tea as a regular feature.

We were here for a course and found everything pretty good. Accommodation was comfortable, food was excellent, service friendly and welcoming and the setting was very pleasant. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to the centre of beautiful Bradford upon Avon. On the negative side a gym would be welcome and drinks could be a bit more reasonably priced.

Staff helpful and pleasant. Nice quiet location but needs a car. Decent sized car park which is free of charge. Decent room (I had an exec). It's in a separate building but only a short walk from the hotel. Smallish bathroom with shower but enough room. Good selection of towels but no face cloths. No aircon but in a nice quiet location so sleeping with the window open wasn't an issue. Shower had decent water pressure and was of a good size. Bed was huge and comfortable enough. Bfast. From 7:30. OK, usual hot and cold but not a huge choice. Latte on order. Dinner. In a large conservatory, pleasant surroundings. Small bar area. Dinner. Fair meal. Well cooked. Starter and main course plus three pints: £35. My only complaint was the piped classical music.... Way too loud! Perhaps when the restuarant was busy then fine but when there were only two of us the peaks of the music were too much.

We enjoyed our recent stay here whilst touring the southwest. This was the second hotel in the Best Western chain that we stayed at and just like the first it was excellent. Friendly staff, good food and situated just outside of beautiful Bradford-on-Avon.

Easy to find with good parking, friendly staff and really nice food in lovely surroundings with character but well decorated. Many of the bedrooms are outside the main house so when it's raining take an umbrella!

ThisHotel is situated within walking distance of Bradford on Avon and easy commuting distance of Bath and all the surrounding attractions. The former house has many of its original features and has been tastefully extended over the years to include excellent dining and wedding facilities. The Staff on reception and bar are exceptionally welcoming and friendly. Food and facilities very good. Parking no problem. Great grounds and views to the distant hills.

My Wife and I were lucky enough to have our wedding at Leigh Park in November 2019. What an incredible venue! From start to finish the staff are incredibly helpful and can't do enough for you. When planning our big day the events coordinator, Jess, was brilliant. No request was too big, and she even put up with all of our silly questions. The Master of Ceremonies on the day was Ebram and he was amazing! He helped make our special day a reality. Making sure all of our plans fell into place perfectly. The rooms were decorated exactly as we asked, and all the finishing touches on the tables were remembered and placed brilliantly. For our evening reception we turned the Vendange suite into a funfair! We had game stalls, a popcorn machine & Sweet Ferris wheel. Somehow this all happened seamlessly as if by magic. The staff helped with the entire set up, meaning we didn't have to worry about a thing. The food was fantastic and they dealt with all our guests dietary requirements perfectly. The rooms are all beautiful and were perfect for our large wedding party staying the whole weekend. Every staff member we saw was helpful and professional from breakfast through to the last drinks being served just before midnight. We cannot thank the team enough for everything they did for us. A fantastic hotel and an amazing team!

Really couldn't find fault. The room was amazing, it was like staying a stately home! Receptionist was very helpful, going above and beyond when the arrival of the Christmas Market in Bath meant we were unable to get a can to take us from hotel to theatre. Bed was very comfortable, lovely shower, everything was perfect.

This is a super property with all the character expected of a Grade II listed building. The welcome was impeccable and I was especially impressed by the grounds which were exceptionally well groomed. Where were all the autumn leaves? :-) When we visited it was quiet and relaxed, which actually suited us fine. A special thanks to Josh for manning the bar & reception, whilst being an A1 concierge & night porter. Not to mention heading up front on house and juggling all the demands of breakfast...constantly with a smile and positive attitude. Diolch cariad.

I work away a lot so get to stay in lots of hotels / BnB's etc - Unfortunately Leigh Park Hotel is on the bottom end of my scale for decent places to stay (its my own fault as I chose it) The bathroom smelt of cigarette smoke, room looked a bit tired - quite noisy with doors slamming. The highlight was a wet bed! (we're not talking a soaking mattress) but I wasn't brave enough to have a sniff to see if it was pee - so ended up throwing all the towels over it and sleeping on top of the covers on the end of a bed - I should of let the hotel know, it was late before I got under the sheets and was in a rush in the morning after waiting for the shower to warm up. Trust me when I say this - it aint the worst I've stayed in and over the years I've slept in the back of a van just so I didn't sleep in a minging room. Usually I book hotels last minute as most of the time I don't know where I'll be (it does limit my chose of good hotels). I didn't eat here so can't make comment. I wouldn't stay here again

Location splendid. Staff helpful and polite if rather scarce. Room small dated and freezing! Radiator came on for very short time and was luke warm. Beds awful hardly slept at all. Food variable. Lunch good dinner dire and breakfast mixed. We decide to treat ourselves rather than stay in one of the cheaper chains just for once. Suffice it to say that us not a mistake I will make again or at least until significant changes are made.

The hotel is a lovely old house with nicely refurbished outbuildings providing further accommodation. My room was in the Coach House and was warm and quiet and very comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful and were accommodating of my needs as a night worker (sleeping during the day at hotels can be difficult).

Plenty of car parking. Check in quick bot not exactly very polite and professional. Room was cold and heating only comes in for a few hours. Room has thin doors and walls which leads to noise outside. Shower was warm not hot. No towels, only a bath robe. Room was dirty and dated in places but overall ok. Bed not too comfortable. Breakfast ok and quite a choice, although coffee was horrible. Bar area ok if you can find someone to serve you!

We spent two nights at this pleasant hotel. Our room was in the stable block overlooking the orchard and vineyard. Very good clean room and nice quiet location. We used the hotel restaurant for dinner on both nights, the food was excellent and good value. In the morning when we had breakfast in the restaurant we realised that it had wonderful views over the nearby countryside. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the restaurant staff giving excellent advice on the choices available. We will certainly visit again when we are in the area.

This has been our first and last visit to Leigh Park Hotel run by Best Weston in Bradford on Avon for a weekend away to meet up with friends. They have lots of problems with rooms which were cold, heating only comes on between the hours of 5pm and 7 pm leaving it extremely chilly in the mornings. The walls between rooms are paper thin leading to being able to hear neighbours conversations, in our case until 3 am. We tried to contact reception but had no reply, so had to knock on their door to complain but it did not help the situation. In our room the kettle which was plastic and yellow with age was plugged into an extension lead hanging off the wall.windows were dirty with mildew and lots of condensation in the mornings. Breakfast was ok but we had to wait 10 minutes for hot food to be replenished. When we all complained we were told there was only one person in the kitchen cooking meaning there was a serious lack of staff for the amount of guests staying. There was also no heating in the dining room it was freezing in there. All in all we paid £366 for bed and breakfast for 2 nights. WHAT A RIP OFF BEST WESTON.We will not be staying in any of your hotels ever again.

We stayed for 1 night as a birthday treat for myself. We were visiting Bath, so this was a good location a little away from the City. The hotel is beautiful, made from local stone, it had so much character inside and out. All the staff where friendly, helpful and efficient. Everywhere was clean and tidy. Food was excellent. Beautiful gardens to the rear and lovely views in the distance. We stayed in an upstairs suite at the rear which gave us great views from the windows. This was our first stay here but it certainly won't be the last.

We had a spacious room overlooking the gardens at the back of the Hotel. Beautiful oval staircase! The room was very hot, even when we had opened windows and tried to turn down the radiators. Comfortable bed; the shower pressure was very poor. We stayed on a Sunday evening and the bar was closed. We did not eat in the restaurant so cannot comment on the food. It is quite a long walk downhill into town but at least you don't need to worry about parking. Good for a one night stay on route to the West country.

We stayed fo a couple of nights for our 52nd wedding anniversary. The staff were wonderful and even presented us with a bottle of wine, we don't like bubbly stuff. It is very handy for Bath. Need to get down a bit earlier for breakfast but otherwise great.

Lovely stay in a well run hotel. Quick and welcoming check in. Fantastic evening meal with very attentive staff. Varied menu with extremely large portions. Nothing was too much trouble and would return again.

We stayed here on the 3rd October so that we could explore both Bath and Bradford on Avon. The hotel was impressive from the outside and the gardens well cared for.We were given room 25 and dropped our baggage in the room and went out for dinner. On our return we unpacked and as we were putting things away we noticed that the room was very dusty. On further investigation we observed that the room was actually very dirty with cobwebs and dust everywhere. There was even blood on the bathroom door surround. In the bathroom more cobwebs and dust were apparent on the windows and extractor fan. We reported all this to the manageress and pointed out the mess.She assured us that the room would be thoroughly cleaned. I hope this will be so for the sake of any other users.

I stayed at this hotel on Saturday 28th September, 2019. The hotel room that I was assigned was pleasant enough but the bed was simply appalling - the most uncomfortable hotel bed that I have ever endured - shameful! Hotel guests pay hotels to sleep in believe it or not!! A really poor offering, considering today's choice - sadly the decent hotels were all full, as this was a last minute trip. Also, the TV did not work and it decided to switch itself on a 5AM - not ideal. Hotel staff are very much of the 'glass half full' variety - I normally avoid Best Western and this stay confirmed exactly why!! My friend, with whom I was travelling had to change his room as it was so hot and stank of smoke. He was awoken by drunken guests and paper thin walls. Avoid this place!

My wife and I booked 2 nights in the hotel 26 & 27th Sept when there were just a few other guests. The receptionists were friendly and welcoming, the room we had booked was smaller than we thought having looked at the photos on the website and the bathroom was a bit dusty where the shelves hadn't been cleaned properly over a long period and dust had become ingrained. There was a lack of vanity surface to place toiletries on. Overall it looked as if it needed refurbishing. The mattress was quite hard and uncomfortable. The door outside our room was continually banging until all the guests were in bed. We had dinner in the restaurant and for starter I had smoked salmon and my wife had seared scallops. When they arrived we could not believe the size of the scallop portion. There were 2 small scallops on the plate with no accompanying bread or anything else other than a teaspoonful of sauce. It looked as if they had run out of scallops. You'd have to see it to believe it. We didn't complain as we felt it would spoil the evening. For main course we both ordered a burger served with potato skin fries according to the menu. When the meals arrived there were ordinary skinny fries on the plate instead. This would not normally be an issue except that they were not cooked properly. (Surely if MacDonalds and Burger King can get this right, the hotel should be able to). They looked like they had been taken out of the freezer and put in the oven for just a few minutes. The burgers were inedible, being burnt on the outside and partially raw inside. The bun had not been toasted. The desert was fine - no complaints. We would not recommend this hotel because of the food issue. How they get away with it, we cannot comprehend, We were booked in for breakfast the following morning and for the following night, but we decided we could not face any more of the hotel food or the noisy room location and left in the morning. We have eaten in many hotels where the food is excellent but this is one of the worst.

We had a great time at Leigh Park hotel. Fabulous gardens and nice food. Friendly staff. Room was spacious with good views. Only criticism was shower as not very powerful and water could have been warmer. Easy access to Bath.

On approach the hotel looks beautiful and check in was fast and friendly. The room was small but very well set out. However, it was a very hot evening and there was no air conwhich given how warm it was with being at the top of the building would have been welcomed. The TV only worked properly for a couple of the channels. The restaurant meal was pleasant and the staff were all friendly and helpful. So all in all a lovely stay.

Spent three nights here. Room was a bit tired but spotless. Bathroom was excellent. Had dinner one night in the restaurant and it was very good. Found all the staff lovely and very helpful. Grounds and building are absolutely beautiful.

This hotel was local to where we had a wedding reception and proved to be a great find. The executive room we had was enormous and more than satisfied our needs. The resturant was first class and offered a good menu to satisfy most peoples tastes

Stayed at the hotel two weeks ago. Delightful old building with modern extensions and even a vineyard. Our room was on the ground floor overlooking lovely gardens to the Wiltshire Downs beyond. Staff were helpful and attentive and the food interesting and well prepared. The Dining Rooms had good views and were well furnished. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Lovely hotel, with well decorated room. On late check in, the night porter gave us keys and let us go and find the room, which was extremely hot. On investigation only one window could be opened - lower part of sash window, which didn't have much effect even with using the portable fan that had been provided. We did take the duvet out of the cover but unfortunately and uncomfortable night for both of us. Lovely well finished ,clean bathroom and shower, the toilet flushing mechanism did need some attention. Pleasant breakfast served in the conservatory both continental and full English.

Spent a weekend here in July. A lovely setting, and our top floor room with a view was spacious and clean. The large bed was very comfortable. The evening meals were fabulous and good value. The breakfast was average. The floor boards were creaky but that is to be expected in an old country house hotel. The staff were amazing - especially the waiting staff. I would definitely stay here again. The only reason for not giving it top marks is that our bathroom, although very large and with a good shower, did not have a bath. Personal taste, but I much prefer a bath.

Spent three night and two days at the Leigh Park for a Training event. The location, views and conference facilities/ team faultless. The rooms, all be without air con (building restriction i imagine) are clean, well tendered and spacious. Hair dyer, tea & coffee, TV and in keeping decor. Slept well. What lets the place down is the detail: Food and menu not so great in the evening, a colleague and myself made a complaint, staff dealt with it well and then made a gesture of good will. Tick. What i would stay, if the menu is the menus then two of 5 meals on that table should not be wrong. Breakfast, asked for poached egg on muffin, no avocado (smashed). Clearly auto mode, must have realised and scrapped off the avocado, leaving trashes of green on the muffin. Had i been allergic?? Have we not leant lessons from Pret a Manger? Mistakes happen, just remake it. Following days breakfast, asked for the same but this time with Avocado. the avocado was so hard it would have taken a sledge hammer to smash it, so they left it in chunks, nice! That all aside, the staff happy and helpful, the lunch time buffet for our delegates far outweighed the taste and quality of the evening meals. This wasn't just my opinion but that of those who had stayed overnight. Leigh Park, you have so much potential and so much more to offer. Get on point and consistent with your detail and you will smash it for being the best of the best!!! Place could also do with a refresh of decor.. but not a deal breaker

Stayed one night and the staff shuffled things around so that we could have a ground floor room. There is no lift & we would have had difficulty with our luggage. Hotel is large with a nice restaurant and sitting area. It's a bit old and dated but charming. It was lovely to walk around the garden and sit outside in the evening. The outside furniture was very old though & should be replaced. Room was standard and comfortable but not soundproof. Large free parking area, free Wi-Fi. Good breakfast. Would stay here again

My partner and I stopped one night at the start of July after a day at Longleat and journeying onto Bath the next day. I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival, very pleasant looking building with a small vineyard (and everything always looks better with the sun shining down). It was clear the venue was being used for a wedding which raised concern about potential noise/delays at bars. The lady was nice on check in, explained breakfast and dinner times and checked us into the coach house. The room, although somewhat dated from a young persons perspective, was clean and had a nice large shower room and ample hanging space (the tea/coffee station had plenty of bags/sachets/milks unlike most places that ration them) a lovely view of the vineyard and a handy information folder in the room as well. We enjoyed the views from the bar/lounge area prior to our evening meal and again was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meal; a house burger with chips and scampi with chips. Attentive service, bread and water offered upon being placed, quality food and a reasonable price (the wine wasn't to my liking but this is completely personal preference). My only niggle was, as mentioned at the start, concern of disturbance due to wedding guests, and was disturbed at 1am by loud bolshy men who by the sounds of it were intent on having a fight. We called to the desk in hope of a night porter being on (as at one point the use of a knife was threatened) but I believe that a member of staff was in fact trying to placate the matter...very brave if so...the disturbance lasting maybe only 30mins. (This issue of course not directly a fault of the hotel.) That being said, I cannot the fault the hotel, the staff or the service we received and I would not hesitate to stop here again if in the area. Furthermore, I would not be so reluctant at choosing another Best Western property as this was my first experience of the brand. Well done guys, keep up the work. A

We attended for a wedding which was lovely. However the room was very standard. Small no fridge very small toilet space. Bedside lights dodnt work. Table light didn't work. Kettle was very dirty. We dodnt use any of this in our room. Very outdated.

Lovely place, with beautiful surroundings. Went for a wedding which went really well and good facilities for it. Although I woke up to find a cat asleep at the bottom of my bed. The breakfast was not great, cold dry scrambled eggs, sausages not that nice, not a great selection.

We got married there on the 21st and we couldn't have had a better time. Rooms were evcellant, the staff couldnto have been more helpful in the build up to the event and the wedding meal was amazing. The grounds are beautiful with views for miles including the Westbury white horse. Breakfast was also nice and a special mention to jess who looked after us brilliantly throughout

The hotel was clean throughout and I found it to have a great atmosphere with helpful staff. The disappointing factor for me though was the needless usage of single-use plastic (see attached) - single-use plastic cups for the bathroom both wrapped in single-use bags. It makes no economic sense. Damaging the environment in the process.

Thirty of us, mostly over 70's, stayed for four nights at this charming hotel at the end of May 2019. We had dinner, bed and breakfast. The hotel went out of their way to help us all, they were extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was lovely and enjoyed by all, and I was especially grateful that they put so much thought into preparing me a delicious and varied vegan meal each night. The grounds of this hotel are also very lovely, as is the wonderful view. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay there again.

Lovely grounds but hotel lets it down. Hotel looking very tired and shabby, heating far too hot. Sleep was disrupted from the creeks of the rooms up above. The receptionist were both unhelpful, and unfriendly. We stayed here as we were attending a family wedding in the grounds next door. We had quite a few rooms booked between us. My Son was supposed to be in a delux room but it certainly was not and when mentioned to the receptionist she made no attempt to do anything about changing the room. The receptionist was so unfriendly and did not make us feel welcome at all. On the plus side a male cleaner who was exceptional and very friendly. Overrated for price of the rooms.

Great hotel in a lovely location - and easily accessible by foot into Bradford on Avon. The grounds the hotel is in are very nice and well worth a weekend stay to recharge. Hotel staff are very helpful

Lovely place in lovely grounds. made to feel very welcome by all staff. facilities clean and comfortable. General maintenance required, heating requires balancing,very hot in some areas, draw handle loose, kettles need defuring, dining chairs very rickety, and knives require sharpening etc.

Room - paint peeling from ceiling, radiator on hot all the time and bed springy and uncomfortable. The whole hotel is looking tired and shabby. It in a great setting and has Marvellous views, but it could probably do with a £100,000 makeover. Drinks expensive and food ok at best. Fish out of a packet and roast potatoes fried. Probably Aunt Bessie's. Not good enough for a hotel, why not have a nice piece of fish and batter. Hotel could do with a reality check. Coaches starting up at front of hotel at 0830 is not good when you want a sleep and a lay in. Reception staff very good.

On arrival we received a nice welcome at reception. Unfortunately the restaurant had just closed (9pm) which seems a little early. Rooms are small, if you have a twin, the bed covers the bathroom door. Quite liked the older look to the room was fitting to the hotel. The bathroom again small, shower head in desperate need of replacing. Complimentaries in the room, good. Most disappointing was the breakfast First morning greeted well by hosts, but the room was very untidy, staff apologised they had just been very busy. Food was poor left under the hot lamp for far too long, I suspect big batches done early, rather than little but often. No crockery or glassware available and the buffet area very very messy, cereal bring the main issue. 2nd day breakfast very miserable staff, anything we asked for wasn't met with good service. I don't feel the hotel justifies the price. Shame as it looks like it was probably once a great place to stay. Building is beautiful

Very comfortable room. No noise or disturbance issues, over the three nights I stayed. I was working away on business, therefore I undertook work in the evenings within my room. WIFI was good, plenty of electrical power pick up points. Staff were incredibly helpful and attentive throughout my stay.

My wife and I have just returned from a short break at Bradford on Avon. We prefer Best Western hotels, and when booking, my wife was offered a ridiculously low-priced offer for room and breakfast. We did not expect overmuch at the price, especially when we were put in the Coach House! But ... The room was very comfortably appointed, the bed comfortable (I have never seen such a choice of pillows on the bed!), 'the 'welcome tray' was well-stocked; the shower was fine, and the hot water piping hot. On the personnel side, I cannot thank the staff enough; the receptionist was exceedingly helpful, and the gentlemen who looked after the bar and restaurant could not have been more pleasant or helpful. The food appeared freshly cooked and was always very hot. Compared with past experience, the continental breakfast menu could perhaps have been a little more imaginative (especially as a party of Belgian 'bilkers' stayed a night). Overall, based on the experience of my wife and myself, I would thoroughly recommend this hotel

the hotel has lovely grounds and a beautiful vineyard. The View in the morning was stunning The rooms are large a little dated but clean and had everything you needed such as kettle, iron bathrobes, hairdryer and toiletries

We stayed two nights in the lovely room 34. The hotel is stunning with beautiful grounds and the staff were amazing. They could not have done more to make our experience better. The second day was the big wedding day of my Stepson and his lovely wife. The food at the wedding meal was amazing and the beef wellington was the best I have had. Thank you very much to all the Staff we will return.

My wife and I were excited about our weekend getaway. We decided to stay at the hotel as a treat although we were visiting friends in Trowbridge! Our initial impression when we walked into the room was definitely not what we had seen in the online photos plus the musty smell of the room was a disappointment. The bathroom was outdated, the shower had no proper power except for the taps. Having a shower meant water just trickling down. We figured out that before we jumped into the bath we had to keep the shower running for at least 5 mins for the water to warm up (which was just a waste of water). Although we had a King Size bed (i.e. two beds put together) the mattress was so uncomfortable. You could feel all the springs against your body and woke up with aches and pains. Our sleep was disrupted each time by footsteps and creeks from the room above. The heating got terribly hot and it was very difficult to regulate it. We would switch it off but yet come back to a very hot room. The window sills were a sight too. Surely a little bit of paint could have been used to enhance the beauty. The receptionist were just okay. Having had the opportunity to stay over at various hotels in my life time, the receiptionist could have been more friendlier. We had dinner at a restaurant in town and the warmth from the staff was 5/5! it made all the difference. We were eager to leave this experience behind and under no circumstances would I like to revisit. I have never ever given a bad review but I regret that I only speak from experience. The price we paid was certainly not good value!

This hotel looks lovely and is in a great location but we were not warned when we booked that they had a wedding there on the night of our stay. The reception staff didn't even warn us about the noise when we checked in. It sounds dramatic but it genuinely felt like our bed was in the middle of the dance floor it was that loud. No chance of getting to sleep when the cheesy end of party songs are blaring out at you and the drunk bridesmaids are arguing next to your room. The staff hung up on us when we called from the room phone to ask what time the music was planned to finish and when we rang from our personal number the night porter told us to just take it up with reception in the morning which wasn't any help to us! I'd avoid this hotel unless they can guarantee there is no wedding or party happening during your stay because there is no point in paying to stay somewhere that noisy if you plan on sleeping. Massive shame because the hotel looks lovely and the location is perfect.

Excellent in all ways - food, service, staff, room - absolutely no downside. We were there for an essential family visit and were looked after perfectly from arrival to departure. Food in both the restaurant and bar was varied enough for all tastes and service and presentation impeccable.

What a lovely hotel Spotlessly clean rooms and friendly helpful staff Although there was a wedding on this Saturday so a busy time for the staff they all still had a smile on their face Not something you find everywhere! We will certainly stay here again

Nothing 'BEST' about this place to be honest. Its clearly in need of a major refurb or a buy out as it could be so much better! Room: Dated interior, bed was so uncomfortable with springs totally shot. Window fittings were hanging off the windows frame. TV was picking up no reception and you could not retune due to PIN protection. Bathroom: Again, needed a refurb. Shower cubicle took and age to drain, and ended up being more paddling pool! Food: I will only refer the breakfast which was not very well cooked, bacon extremely fatty, sausages underdone, eggs creasing - its basic stuff! Staff: Not welcoming or just not enough of them - first night they ran out of cider, ran out of Gin, and was all pretty poor - even struggled with clean glasses. Shame as could be a nice place, but really does need work. Certainly would not recommend, and would never stay again.

Spent the weekend here for my sons wedding. The food was lovely, breakfast was great. Room lovely as well.we stayed in an executive room. Wedding went smoothly, couldn't fault it. Grounds pleasant with stunning views

So sad to have to write this review. I was so looking forward to staying here for a relaxing weekend away with my partner who had booked the reservations via his Best Western Reward Reservation using his Diamond Status on 23/3/19 and had booking confirmation. We arrived at the hotel around 6.30 pm driving past signage clearly stating Best Western and walked into the main entrance and found reception. We walked up to the desk and had to get the attention of the person sat at a desk behind, The receptionist made no effort to stand up or welcome us and said “oh are you checking in “ “What's your name ?” Without looking up or getting up or any welcome. After a few minutes we were told we don't have a reservation in your name. When presented with the booking confirmation email, she disappeared to go and ask some one else. We were then told by the Assistant Manager you have no booking you will have to rebook now as we are not owned by Best Western and can not help you. After several attempts trying to explain we had booked via Best western Rewards and shown the booking on The Best Western App, we were told it's not my problem and to call Best Western, which we did and the office was closed until Monday. We had booked an executive room for two nights clearly showing in the app and my partner has also spoken to the booking team over the phone re up grading the room and this was then communicated directly with the hotel on the telephone. Even more frustrating was the fact that we had already been told by the Receptionist that there were eight free rooms of this type ! We were made to feel very unwelcome and it was although he did not want us to stay at the hotel. There was no help offered to solve the problem and the rudeness and abruptness of his attitude was very upsetting. Every time we tried to speak he talked over us and just kept saying talk to Best Western. He refused to believe the acknowledge the information provided on the Best Western App. With no resolution offered other than doing a new booking and taking payment on a credit card, despite having had 40000 reward points deducted from our Rewards account and us not been given any confidence he would not take payment in full thus we would be paying twice. We decided to leave not wanting to stay. I have never experienced such rudeness and complete lack of interest or been to a hotel where I have been made to feel so unwelcome. We now have to resolve the used points for the booking. We have not received an apology or been contacted by anyone. Absolutely appalling! Customer Service training required, no common courtesy.

Try not to be booked into room 29 - the shower is so beyond weak and pointless that it's almost a water can shower of lukewarm water! Also, the bathroom seems to receive all the noise from the other bathrooms exiting water......Mind your head when entering the bathroom as you'll whack your head on the low door frame. The decor is somewhat stained, dirty and tired.

Nice setting and the executive room we had was extremey comfortable, spacious, and very well laid out. Views from the room were lovely too. Service all round was of a very high standard. The only things that let it down for us was the beer battered fish we chose for dinner must have been deep fried? In itself that is not an issue but it was VERY oily almost the point of being sickening. Then at breakfast we had the 'full English'. Only one rasher of cool hard bacon and only the choice of scrambled eggs by the time we sat for our meal. I suppose if we'd waited longer there may have been other eggs choices perhaps and no doubt more bacon would have been brought out from the kitchen? Having said that, we would be more than happy to visit this hotel again and I'm sure we would thoroughly enjoy the experience again, although if the food was the same next time, I think I would bring the issue up with the very courtious and very helpful staff.

We stayed 2 nights and from check in to check out stay was lovely. All staff were friendly and helpful. The meals were good and the vine restaurant was clean and comfortable to sit in and enjoy a meal. Nice grounds to walk round and outdoor seating must be wonderful in the summer.

I first visited here in January 2019 and sadly didn't have a very good time , from booking in at reception there's a lovely resident cat and during the booking procedure I broke away to stroke it. The receptionist gave me an audible exasperation and then made me wait while she took a phone call. In the morning I was ready to demote this place a star or two accordingly & just never return until breakfast where a wonderful smiling jovial person greeted me ( later I asked her name it's Amanda ) She instantly picked up my mood and she alone is the reason for my return stay today and further bookings here in the future. What a transformation and all off the back of kindnesses and good customer skills. I've just finished breakfast ( wonderful too may I add ) and she's now going to make me a takeaway latte setting me up for the day ahead. I feel I should also mention the hotel being nice which it is but I'd stay in a shed if Amanda was greeting me in the morning haha :)

I stay at Leigh Park several times a year when working locally. The established team ensure that everyone's needs are catered for well - Hence the five stars! Rooms are lovely - all different and have been upgraded over time. The grounds are superb!! My only recommendation would be for a little more ambiance in the restaurant as it can feel/sound quite austere without any background music at breakfast time or in the evenings. I decided to have a room tray this time around for this reason.

A mild aura of confusion reigns in the dining room but the friendly staff are keen to please and do their best within their skill sets. Our room and en suite were clean and well equipped but unfortunately the room heating was jammed at sauna temperature. Quite good value for money in the round and well located for local attractions.

Beautiful Georgian hotel set in lovely grounds. Very friendly & helpful staff. Perfect wedding venue. Was an amazing day! Our room was very spacious, very clean with good amenities. Would definitely stay here again.

My Daughter got married here on 20th February 2019. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. A very special mention for Duty Managers Paul and Amanda and also the lovely Lucy on reception. They went out of their way to make the day special and nothing was too much trouble.

What a great place. Booked and paid for our room for a special occasion - two days before the stay my father had a terrible fall and ended up in A&E for the night with a fractured and dislocated shoulder. With him being alone there was no way we could honour the stay - more than three hours away so we let the hotel know. Fully aware that we had paid and could not expect a refund. The team at Leigh Park hotel decided to give us a full refund given the circumstances. What a lovely gesture and so kind of them. What a lovely hotel! I would strongly recommend this place!

I often stay at the Leigh Park and have always found the accommodation to be of a good standard. During this stay I ate in the restaurant for the first time of an evening. I was so pleasantly surprised! I was informed the menu changes daily but I can highly recommend it and it is quite inexpensive compared to other hotels and restaurants in the area. Really excellent meal, fantastic wine and attentive staff.

My company used this venue for a two day conference. We had one night stay and two days food and conference. Conference facilities were ok, bit cold on day one and too hot on day two! Projector and screen a bit antiquated. Lunches were ok with choice of one hot dish or cold meat salad with cheese and biscuits and a sweet. My room was no. 20 and was just off reception. It is pretty small and very, very hot with no way to turn heating down, also when opening window in bathroom to get some air through you had the smoke from the kitchen staff smoking outside. I did complain but they said they couldn't adjust the heating and nobody told the staff to stop smoking. Pretty quiet as hotel was empty apart from our group and couple of others. Other members of my group said some rooms were very cold! Evening meal was good with no complaints. Hotel is about tired as many country house hotels are. Overall it was very average and I won't rush back and wouldn't use for my own personal stay.

Lovely Manor House type building in large grounds with vineyard, Wonderful views across the Wiltshire Countryside. A nice 10-15 minute walk into Bradford on Avon main shops - or £5.00 taxi ride. Big spacious rooms, very warm so had to have window open. Very good breakfast, plenty to eat and drink. Polite friendly staff.

I stayed here for 2 nights in January 2019. I had to change rooms 3x due to heating issues, and in the end just requested a heater for the room. However, the lady at reception was very helpful and friendly. Room was small, and bed was uncomfortable, but good spacious bathroom. Cleanliness average. Wifi didn't work / password was changed and not updated in guest information, and wake up calls didn't work either (even though requested 3x). Lighting in car park extremely poor, can barely see where you're going. Overall 4 / 10.

stayed in room 36 ,from day one which was the 24th of dec.2018 to 28th of dec 2018 no hot water reported it to reception when some one was there (which wasnt very often) the shower was fine ,one young lady at the desk said they didnt have a plumber at the hotel to sort it out she said if i run the hot water in the gents toilet down stairs it would cure the problem ,only two staff on duty after christmas day to look after 40 guests never again to a best western

Meal was very tasty. Had pate for starters, mushrooms for main and a beautiful cheesecake for dessert. Would recommend this place for a night out especially for a works party. Only downside was slow with taking drinks order.

Second stay here and I'd highly recommend turgid hotel. From the lovely reception desk, friendly efficient staff to the generously sized wonderful rooms. Expect high standards it's an excellent hotel with wonderful views from the restaurant situated in the conservatory. Only negative was just wish I could have stayed longer!

Stayed here 3 nights while working in the area. I don't usually write reviews although I stay in a different hotel each week, but felt I had to comment on how good the food has been here. Delicious home cooked food, generous portions, well presented and great value for money. My room was in the Coach House, a short walk around the corner from the main hotel and was very comfortable with a modern shower room. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Would happily come here again for a leisure break, and wish I lived close enough to visit the restaurant regularly.

Just a quick business night sleepover here. Booked via Hotel.com, it was just £60 without breakfast. A ground floor room (25) with lots of room and nice decor. Bed comfy, room warm with auxiliary heater (not needed). Well serviced and clean. Reception friendly. Checked out with no fuss.

Venue and staff were really fantastic all day, but my room was not as advertised and didnt even have tea & coffee. Breakfast was stingy and the decor on the top floor is horrid - how much would it cost to cover up that pollyfilla with a tin of paint?

Stayed here for one night and as a country hotel we found it really awesome. Great views over the valley, friendly staff and the quality of the food was superb. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Great stay for exploring the local area and the views from the grounds are stunning.

We stayed at this hotel in duration of our visit to longleat and the fact we got married the day before arriving. Everyone was so lovely and nice and helpful. The only thing I would say is the shower in our room wasn't very powerful but it did the job. Thank you for such a lovely stay and we will defiantly be back.

Stayed for a weekend & was pleasantly surprised, the coach house room was nicely furnished & bathroom to a good standard. Very helpful & friendly reception staff & indeed all others. My only slight moan was that they closed the bar at 11.

Stayed the one night... on arrival receptionist never said hello ... just have you a booking ... said yes ..sorry can't find it ... but we have rooms so your ok ... not a good start .. restaurant staff had no knowledge of the food on the menu or In fact what the description of the food was ... the food itself was very dry with only ketchup the only available sauce ... even though room service is advertised only crips was available lol what a joke ... the deluxe room we paid for was no better than a bog standard travel lodge room ... no air con tiny tv ... breakfast for £12 Really poor as over cooked under a heat lamp ... so overall very poor value for money... sorry

We were here for a training course and the facilities for that were excellent. The food at lunch and dinner was fine. Breakfast on the first day was a bit problematic. We were presented with a limited buffet (cereals, fruits, breads, jams) and a menu but it was difficult to get anyone's attention to order from the menu. My partner ordered an omelette which looked good and was generously filled with cheese and tomato. I asked for cheese and was given an enormous block of cheddar which I couldn't get through. I couldn't understand why they couldn't just put cheese and ham out for people to help themselves. But on day 2 when the hotel was much busier things were very different with a generous hot and cold buffet laid out so no need to order at the table. The room was very substantial and had a beautiful view. The bathroom was large with both a small bath and a walk in shower. It had quite a dangerous step in it that would have been easy to miss. It had a strange and noisy macerating toilet which I have never come across before but presumably old plumbing prevented a normal type of toilet. It took a long time to get hot water out of the taps. So all in all while there were some very good points about this hotel, including lovely grounds, it really could do with some more up to date plumbing and a bit of refurbishment e.g. cleaning the grubby hall carpets. Not the best value for money.

We only stayed one night but got what was the best room in the hotel with a four poster, lots of space and very modern bathroom. The room was well furnished and comfortable and had great views over the garden and the land beyond to the far side of the valley. We had a very pleasant meal in the restaurant where the staff were very helpful.

We stayed here with four of our friends over a weekend. There were weddings going on on Friday and Saturday evenings, but these didn't distract from the quality of the food we were served, nor from the level of service which was, on the whole, good. We stayed in Executive rooms which were located in the annex, a walk away - during wet weather, which wasn't that great! The room was a good size and comfortable and quiet. The room, and the adjoining bathroom were clean. The weather was chilly and the hotel's heating wasn't on. However, they lent us an electric radiator which warmed the room adequately. We all enjoyed our time here and we would come back if the occasion arose.

We got engaged here in Feb 2010, and decided to come back to celebrate my husbands birthday here this year. So pleased we did. The views from the hotel are gorgeous, so many opportunities for great photos if you're here for a special occasion. Evening meal was lovely. The bedroom was large, not at all cramped, the bed was huge! We had such lovely memories of our first visit here we knew it would be impossible to live up to those. Although you made this visit seem special too! Thank you.

I thought that this was a pretty good hotel. The room was quite small but well equipped. It is a nice old building with interesting features and a great view from the dining room. We had a meal in the dining room which was very nice, while breakfast was adequate but the choice was a bit limited. There were a few minor issues. The shower was anaemic, with not much more than a trickle of water. The parking is a bit tight when there is an event on, and there is no real alternative than squeezing in. The bar has no cask beer. If I had been less attentive I would have paid for a breakfast that was included. That said, all the staff we encountered were great and we would be happy to return.

We stayed at the Leigh Park last week in one of the executive double rooms with breakfast included. Although the place was quiet and it was generally quite pleasant, there were a few let downs. The place definitely needs some TLC, a lot of the decor is tired and many things don't work properly - our shower for example had zero pressure and kind of dropped water straight downwards. The water was warm though which is one good thing. We went down for breakfast in the morning and there is a white cat that roams around the room, which is fun except for when it decided to climb on you whilst you're eating, one of our party is severely allergic to cats and I don't think it's unreasonable to expect not to share your dining experience with one. It climbed up onto people and generally just wouldn't leave people alone, unsure who's cat it was or why it was always in the room but it was a bit annoying. When the cat was in the bar the night before it wasn't a huge deal but it's not acceptable whilst eating food. The final issue is that we were advised by the bar staff that every card machine in the building except reception was either lost or broken, you wouldn't except a Best Western chain hotel to only take cash, so we didn't think we'd need it - leading to complications. Our room had a few cool features such as galaxy hot chocolate and lots of oat biscuits, and we didn't need to ask for anything such as a hair dryer or toiletries. Overall, it certainly wasn't the worst place I've stayed at, and the surroundings are nice, the staff are polite but things were far from perfect unfortunately. I can't say that we'd think of the place again next time we're in the area.

I stayed here whilst working in the area, the hotel is set in its own grounds which are well maintained.A very relaxing place to stay. ( A pity the weather was not so great). The food was of excellent quality in the restaurant

Enjoyable 2-night stay at Leigh Park Hotel while attending a two-day seminar. Although in parts the hotel decor looked a bit old fashioned it was still very charming. Our room was adequate for two people and had everything we needed. It was very clean and comfortable with a large bathroom. All the staff were friendly, helpful and polite, a real credit to the hotel. The food was outstanding! We enjoyed a buffet breakfast, lunch and a three-course meal each day of our stay..... compliments to the chef. There is plenty of free parking at the hotel. The grounds and views are lovely. We would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

The website is misleading. The photo of the executive room is clearly very different to the room and bathroom we stayed in. (252) When I checked / questioned the reason for our room being an executive room the older lady at the desk was quite rude to me in her manner. I assumed that because the photo on the website had 2 windows, I had assumed hat ‘double view' (written on my order) meant a double aspect room, but she told me it meant double bed with a view. She was patronising towards me and this made me feel uncomfortable so we decided not to eat at the hotel for this reason. Views were lovely and the hotel was quiet and peaceful but we're not sure why we spent more on this room in terms of the facilities. The bed was 2 singles pushed together. Not ideal. The shower room was lovely and seemed brand new, clean and modern. For an executive room I did expect a bath. The room, although clean, was a little tired and old fashioned. The facilities were very basic and the kettle clearly very old and needed replacing. There was no music dock as advertised and the remote control for the tv didn't work from the bed. The towels and robes were large and clean. The bar staff in the evening were very attentive and polite, as were the staff serving breakfast. The breakfast was delicious and nothing was too much of a bother. Overall we did enjoy our stay (mainly due to the location) but feel like we were mislead slightly with the idea of an executive room and next time we would only book a standard room for what it's worth.

We had our wedding at Leigh Park and I just felt I had to leave a review so everyone knows how amazing it is! From the very start you guys were absolutely amazing, you were so professional and made our day go so smoothly. Everybody kept saying how lovely the food was and how lovely all the staff were! We felt you went above and beyond to make our day so special and it's something we will remember forever! I'd just like to mention Jonathan and Ebrams names personally as they were absolutely amazing! Ebram spent the whole day making sure it was perfect and really was so so lovely, he came to let us know he was going home and I just felt like he genuinely enjoys his job! He's very very professional and very good at his job. Jonathan was also very lovely and did all he could to make sure the rest of our evening was perfect, he was so polite and professional and helped us wherever he could! Thank you Leigh Park so so much!

Lovely Hotel. brought back some great memories as friends have been married here. The grounds are gorgeous and beautifully kept. The decor of the hotel is lovely and not too over powering, posh or outdated its just very Best Western-esque! Johnny (Bravo) the barman was absolutely amazing!! He went out of his way to chat to us and asked if we wanted any more drinks whilst he let us know when the bar was closing, he also made recommendations to us on some of the drinks to try! we were celebrating our anniversary and he wished us well and told us it was his birthday so we hope he had a great day. He's an asset to Best Western. Lovely, funny guy! Breakfast was really tasty and the room very nice, comfortable and had everything we needed. Will definitely return!

Lovely room with an amazing view! The staff couldn't be more welcoming, freshly cooked well presented food with excellent service. Room service was very quick and an excellent menu. Very pleasant stay a good choice for walkers or just a short trip into bath if you don't want to stay in the city. Highly recommend!

My wife and I stayed three nights to attend an event on the Saturday night, The accommodation was excellent with great food, staff that attended to all of our needs with enthusiasm and lots of client care. Cant compliment the management enough! The location is brilliant and the hotel and grounds just perfect. We look forward to returning soon.

The hotel is in a lovely location and easy to find. The rooms are spacious and individually styled. We had an annex which could be used for a family room. The restaurant closes at 9 but they do bar menu which we had. The food and service were fast and the quality and portion excellent. The breakfast the following day was a great disappointed. We were early and just when it opened but the food was dried sausage were undercooked and bacon burnt. The self service breads and toaster were poor. All together not a great experience. We will not be going back.

Booked this as I like to use Best western brand hotels and it was close to bath where we were visiting. The check in was promptly done, well mannered receptionist and helpful. We were in room 38 which is upstairs, and it should be noted that there are no lifts so if you are disabled and unable to climb stairs then this is not the hotel for you. In fact to room 38 we encountered a few smaller set of stairs as this hotel is a 'little' maze in itself. My wife is disabled but can just about manage a few stairs, so we just took our time. On the handrail going up the circular stairs there was a piece of wood missing so one had to be careful not to catch your ring finger on this bit in case it snagged. All in all the room was just right. The table lamp did not work though, also the television remote volume and channel change buttons worked the opposite way round. two panes of window glass in the bathroom were cracked and the bathroom overlooked a roof. The room overlooked to the rear of the hotel and there is the kitchens more or less underneath as the air conditioning fans from the kitchen were noticeable but not too noisy. In the morning they had a delivery to the kitchen and they were a bit noisy. The grounds to the hotel are very big and well kept (although as it was a very not summer the grass was brown, but so was most of England). We had an evening meal there in the restaurant and it was just perfect, as was morning breakfast. Check out was quick. All in all a nice hotel with a few minor details that did distract from a top score I would have given. Staff were perfect all the way.

This hotel is situated on a beautiful hill with stunning views. The rooms were old but clean and large. The restaurant was okay. Dinner was fine but you can tell it was probably top of the line when it first opened. Breakfast was good, a traditional English breakfast. The staff was fantastic! The two ladies at the front desk were outstanding. We had many questions and a couple of special requests that they handled expertly! The staff in the dining room was attentive and always checking in on us. We drove our car down the hill to the Bradford on Avon train station and caught the 15 minute train to Bath. This worked out great and the train drops you just a 5 minute walk to the Roman Baths. Great location, great staff, free parking, good breakfast, clean rooms- great for a 3 Star hotel.

We arrived at Leigh Park Hotel early afternoon, very hot and tired and got a very warm welcome from reception and supplied us with a fan for the bedroom. We stayed in the coach house with lovely views over the garden and vineyard. We went to this hotel for a function on Saturday night, and met up with very dear friends, we had a marvellous time made even better by the wonderful staff, namely a gentleman by the name of David. He was absolutely fantastic, nothing was too much trouble he really deserves praise indeed. If we are ever in that part of the country again we shall stay there.

We stayed at Leigh Park hotel last night following a family wedding. We booked 3 rooms, 2 doubles & a family room. I was amazed that the family rooms were right up in the roof. Getting toddlers & or pushchairs with sleeping babies in is crazy to have to go up to that level. One of the double rooms had pubic hair on the pillow! Also in the same room I think the spiders had had a party the night before as there were quite a few large cobwebs. Breakfast this morning was a joke, having to queue while waiting for food to come out of the kitchen ridiculous, every item needed to be replenished . Surely ( you the hotel) know when it's your peak times for breakfast areal you accommodated for that time. I don't seem to be able to click on the Hotel ratings selection. I would mark it as a 2 on all 3 counts.

We had one of the top rooms (34) but it was not in top condition. The room was tired the carpet old with an iron mark by the bed, The bath room had seen better days and the wardrobe too. The breakfast was buffet style and they need to change the food more often, the bacon was like a leather sole! The staff were pleasant though and did all they could to help.

I rarely write reviews but there's a genuine health and safety issue here. We moved from rm25 to one in the stable block that was much better Back to rm25. The tiny tray on the wall that the kettle balances on was loose so when the kettle boiled the whole tray shook so much boiling water could have spilled out over someone and on to the floor. That was not the main problem though. The real danger was the shower. After we'd moved rooms I read a previous review about this room and how hot the shower was. Obviously nothing had been done since then. The coldest temperature was scaldingly hot - dangerously so. We complained, were moved and the woman on reception said she'd left a message to follow up the following day ( this all happened on a Sunday). I've no idea if anything has now been done - my guess is no so please be careful if you're given this room.

We stayed for four nights as part of a group of 24. Our room (No 25 in the main building) was dated and shabby with rotten window frames, a malfunctioning bath plug and poorly-flushing loo. For some reason the cold water runs warm and the hot water is scalding. Most of the hotel staff are very friendly though the Assistant Manager, Cathy, was deliberately difficult. On our fourth night she insisted on seeing our room card, despite the fact she knew who we were that all other members of staff had willingly taken drinks orders and charged them to the room by looking at our room keys over the past three evenings. The cleaning staff had reomoved our key card. The kitchen cannot cope with a large group and it was a challenge every morning to see if they could have all the items on the hot buffet available at the same time: which they only managed one morning. The basic, but essential skill, of making a soft poached egg was not mastered until the final morning. Dinner was adequate and perfect for those who like over-cooked vegetables and all their meat well done.

£90 for a double room without breakfast. Bathroom cupboard surfaces were dusty, the spare toilet roll and box of tissues were inprinted in the dust. Windows would not open, window frames were rotten. Two tea bags and a couple of sachets of coffee for the tea/coffee facility. Two small tubes of non-descript shampoo/shower gel in the bathroom other than that the bathroom was bare. Decor and condition of the room was extremely dated. This must be the worst value hotel I have ever stayed in. Most B&Bs have far better facilities.

We have usually stayed in a different hotel when visiting family in the Bath area. The change to this one was a wonderful surprise. The hotel and surroundings are really beautiful. The rooms, we stayed in the coach house are clean and well maintained. There is free parking, free internet tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast was well presented and the dining room, which is a sun room on the rear of the hotel has stunning views of the garden and surrounding countryside. Some breakfast items were a bit dry due to the hot dishes being uncovered but the food is replenished regularly and there are other options if you don't fancy what is in the buffet. It was a lovely stay and we are now going to consider Best Western hotels for our other stop overs where they are available. The price is reasonable and especially somewhere like this the free parking is a huge bonus.

This is a great hotel and is so convenient for visiting Bath and also other lovely places around Wiltshire .Bradford on Avon has a main line station , so no need to use the car when visiting Bath etc .We stayed in the coach house and it was so peaceful , will stay here again when in the area .

The outside of the hotel and Public areas and very pleasant. My room was OK, clean and pleasant décor with OK Wi-Fi. However the areas away from Restaurant, bar & lobby are dated and look tired and grubby. I've also stayed in the Coach House this is a separate building which is much more pleasant. Personally i'd avoid the restaurant and eat in one of the many places in nearby Bradford on Avon. The menu is rather limited and the food is disappointing and expensive for what you get. Prawn and Avocado salad arrived as 3 prawns and 2 slices of avocado for £5.50!!!

Excellent venue for a wedding, which why we were there even though we live in the town, plenty of rooms for guests. Good food, Good clean spaces, helpful staff. An excellent base for visiting local attractions including Stone Henge, Longleat, Lacock & Bath, to name a few.

Great location for visiting this part of Wiltshire. Bath is a short drive away. Walk down into Bradford on Avon is steep but well worth it. Visit Mr Salvat's coffee house in town for a unique experience. Room very comfortable. Wedding guests (we weren't attending) were a bit noisy. Staff extremely helpful. Great views. Excellent food.

The staff at this hotel were so friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Excellent room. Staff outstanding. Good food. Lovely views from dinning room. Main entrance could do with a repaint by coach house rooms top rate

I stayed in the Coach House for several nights. The room was a good size, as well as the shower and closet. The bed was comfortable and there was an ironing board and iron in the main area of the Coach House, if needed. The wood framed window made a banging noise when it was windy outside. The room was on the ground floor a little dark, with all the lights off. There is plenty of parking and it is located on the outskirts of Bradford-on-Avon. There was a wedding group during weekend, who were extremely loud and dud not allow for much sleep. Overall, not a bad stay for the price.

Came here for a wedding reception. The hotel Is very beautiful and the staff are really accommodating. The food was ok, wasn't bowled over by it, i don't think the quality is very good. Stayed in the vendage suite overnight, room was ok, just what you need but it was so hot!! Couldn't fix the radiator so slept with the windows open all night and was still uncomfortably hot! But room was cleanish, a few hairs around the loo etc. Was good for the wedding but probably wouldn't stay in the hotel again, I felt it was a bit overpriced for the room and breakfast was mediocre. Really lovely wedding though, we really wanted for nothing.

Please care more about cleanliness. I found a lot of spider webs on the ceiling in the bedroom. Also there was one spider on the ceiling at the evening and one at the morning near the door frame. It would be much better if you prevent such problems.

It might be thought from the description and external photos that this is a much higher quality establishment than it is. This is the 3rd time I have stayed here for business and I have had mixed experiences on the rooms. On the ground floor the rooms seem OK but nothing special (and a bit noisy) but the rooms higher up the building are in desperate need of a refurb and the communal areas are a little tired. Where the hotel really fails is in the food which explains the empty restaurant. Food here has never failed to be mediocre at best with prices far too high for the poor fare on offer which is usually tepid, tasteless and dull. Breakfast is standard hotel stuff. This will be my last time here for my monthly visits to the area.

My brother and his wife hired the function room for their wedding lunch and reception. Very accommodating staff who will go out of their way to help. Emram the function room coordinator was helpful and proactive to our needs from start to finish. Beautiful setting and a great wedding atmosphere. Most guests slept at the hotel too. Top marks all around.

My sister hired the venue for her wedding Easter weekend. What a brilliant venue, with amazing staff who cater for your every need, everyone had such an enjoyable experience! Food was great, service was amazing! The whole weekend was incredible! Would highly recommend this hotel to everyone! We celebrated such an incredible day and couldn't of done it without the help of all the staff members!!

We spent the whole day here for my nieces wedding on Sat 31st march. I cannot fault it one little bit, the food was gorgeous the wine lovely and the staff work their socks off for all the guests, it was excellent. It is a beautiful setting to have a wedding even though ours was a damp day. The whole day was a lovely event and i would recommend it to anyone to have a wedding here. My partner and i stayed in a room in the Coach House which was small but nice. My only and very strong bug bear is that because it was Easter they bump the prices up to £120 per night which makes me so angry where as today Easter Mon you can stay there for £71.Not fair on the paying public as these are the people that get you trade from word of mouth, TREAT US MORE FAIRLY. We all agreed the rooms were not worth this money.

A delightful country house hotel with lovely grounds, a lovely peaceful place. We had 2 rooms in a top corner of the hotel, which were private and quiet with beautiful views over the grounds. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Walking distance to Bradford on Avon and the town centre for shopping and to catch the train to Bath. The walk to the town centre was an easy downhill walk but quite a steep walk on the way back, and next to the rather busy road to the town centre. We would definitely stay here again and thoroughly recommend it. Visitors x 4 from NZ and Australia

A nice weekend away, good location, walking distance to Bradford on Avon if you dont mind walking up a hill on the way back. Good location for cycling along the lovely Kennett and Avon Canal tow paths. Some really nice places to eat in Bradford on Avon and a pleasant cycle into Bath

Lovely setting and close to Bradford on Avon. Lacking staff to attend guests which can be annoying. Some parts of the hotel could do with a little refurbishment. Breakfast is quite good. Rooms clean and tidy. Value for money.

So, I was booked into here after another booking dropped out. Seemed to cause angst with a number of colleagues who have been here before and had a low opinion of it? Nevertheless, it seemed promising and the initial impression was positive. A lovely frontage and a nice setting as you drive in, followed by an impressive interior (though I have to say I've been to enough older properties to have a deep suspicion of the ‘implied' quality this professes to give).... I was booked into a room in another outbuilding to the left of the hotel just in front of the rear car park. So I can't give an overall impression of the main building. My room had a spacious double bed, clean and simple decor which made it feel airy and spacious. The views were lovely out of double aspect windows, and the bathroom really well kitted out - sorry, shower-room. In essence - Pro Big comfy bed Large light room Lovely view Lots of parking Warm rooms (too warm!) Lots of t&c in room Really nice shower room Nice food Helpful staff, though I found service a little slow. Con Food is expensive for what you get No usb charging points The sink had a slow blockage Despite the initial misgivings, I would book this again....

We held an event at this hotel. The support and hep was brilliant! We also stayed over our room was lovely, the staff so helpful and the food was well presented, and hot! Would highly recommend this hotel for an event or a wedding absolutely lovely. The picturesque views are awesome! Can't thank the management and staff enough

We had a super time in the very picturesque town of Bradford on Avon, staying in the delightful Leigh Park Hotel. Our double aspect room allowed us wonderful views to the South and West. Whilst we were there, Storm Emma struck, causing widespread travel disruption in the area. Against all the odds, the staff at the hotel, especially Hugo the Duty Manager did all they could to maintain the guest experience. Because other staff were unable to travel to the hotel, the very resourceful Hugo still managed, without a chef, to produce a lovely three course dinner for us, and other guests, all the while also manning reception and the bar. We will return, hopefully without the snow!

After a number of days working away and this being my last night in the West County l was very happy with my room in the Coach House. Clean, comfortable, roomy and very quiet, great nights sleep ! Dinner was very nice as was breakfast, staff very friendly. Took a chance to pop into Bradford-on-Avon, amazingly beautiful and well worth a visit. Will return.

At first thought this was a good find, but found the hotel a little shabby. It has been maintained but obviously at a very low budget. Breakfast particularly disappointing. Hotel room had an inch gap under the door which not only a fire hazard but let in the noise from the corridor. Reception staff not particularly helpful. Was most annoyed when I informed the staff I had accidentally got mud on the floor of the hotel room (from my walking boots) and could them ask house keeping to clean for me, was told that house keeping was finished for the day and I would just have to have a muddy room for the rest of the day, that evening and morning. I really did not want to walk about on the muddy floor.

Location good, rooms tired and breakfast was unorganized to say the least. On a positive the staff were extremely helpful and the manager was quick to listen and refund us for breakfast as the buffet was not replenished regularly enough due to staff difficulties. Overall we would not stay here again however an excellent option if you plan to visit the Bath Xmas Market.

When I read the mixed reviews on this hotel I wasn't sure what to expect. We arrived for our 2 night stay about 90 minutes before check in. The receptionist was helpful and said our room was ready and we could book straight in. We had booked a deluxe double room. When we went up to the room it was simply but nicely decorated. It had beautiful views and lovely big floor to ceiling windows. The bed was huge and very comfy. It was also very warm. The first evening we ate in the restaurant. The service was great and the food arrived hot and was fresh and homemade. Like wise with breakfast. It wasn't busy so food was cooked to order and came out really hot. When it's busier they do a hot buffet. There was also a great continental option. Over the 2 nights we stayed the staff were all friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Booked by our children as a xmas gift as we have always wanted to visit Bath. Very pleasant hotel and grounds, quiet country surroundings - a little dated and lots of damp patches and cobwebs in the dining area. Could do with some modernisation and tlc. We had dinner in the restaurant the first night and the food was very good, portions were a little too large for us but its better than leaving hungry! Good value for money but would say drinks were quite expensive. There was a large conference on as well and unfortunately they took up the whole bar and seating area - there was no-where else for other guests to sit and have a drink/relax. Which was a bit unfortunate. Breakfast was ok, help yourself buffet style hot and cold selection - other items can be ordered and cooked fresh, I think there was an extra charge for omelettes extra. Room - the room was nicely decorated, we requested a ground floor room and they did provide that. It was quite cold and we had to leave the heat on full all day to ensure it was warm for the evening. Basic standard double bed, all other Best Westerns I have stayed at have usually had a kings size so this bed did feel very small. But clean bedding. Large bathroom but no light over the mirror - it was very dark in there, had energy saving bulbs and the mirror was in the corner. Not very practical for a woman to apply make-up etc. Also the shower head wasnt adjustable - which is a pain if you just want to wash your hair. Replacing the shower and putting better lighting in would greatly improve the room. Ladybirds - harmless little things but there were a small army of them on the windowsills everyday! Its about 15-20 minute drive into Bath City Centre and we also went in the local town of Bradford on Avon where there is a good selection of restuarants.

Great setting and views but the main building is very much in need of sprucing up. Yes it's a country manor but it is a bit dingy. Lots of older guests and several wedding parties over the course of the weekend meaning breakfast was a squeeze. The bedrooms on the converted stable were modern and fresh. Parking in the town is limited and to walk down is fine but taxi required to get bank unless you enjoy hill climbing.

Stayed two nights on business. Building itself was nice and lots of parking. Receptionist was nice and pleasant. Heating gets turned off between 10pm - 6am because “some guests complain about the heat”. Well I bet they don't in January and especially in the attic rooms on top floor! More like cost cutting. Thankfully they had spare blankets so as soon as the clock struck 10 I bedded in for the night. The roof sounded like it was going to blow off in the storm one night with rattling tiles so got little sleep. Breakfast varied between buffet full English and cooked to order full English (with a delay). Also one guy only takes the hot drink order and another girl the food one which is a bit inefficient. Didn't have dinner at the hotel or use the bar. One morning the hot water was only tepid. Both mornings the hot water smelt of sulphur - bit like it does in Reykjavik but where are the volcanic vents here? Also just plain boring PG Tips on offer (could do with some fruit or mint teabags) but biscuits were chunky and more upmarket than usual hotel fayre.

The staff were friendly and the food was ok but as I was spending 4 nights here for work I did not appreciate waking up every night at 3am because of how cold the room had become. It was confirmed that the heating is turned off for 9 hours because of "hotel policy" which in the middle of winter is just unreasonable. The water pressure wasn't great and I found three dead flies in my room on arrival and hair in the bathroom sink. Could do with rethinking the iron and board policy of one per floor as guests do not return them and they have no way of knowing where it is, so if you need an iron grab it quick! Would be better to keep it at reception if they can't afford one pre room In much need of renovation.

We enjoyed a very nice New Years'2-night break and attended the Gala dinner and dance on New Year's Eve held at the hotel.. Location was great for a trip to Bath on New Years Day.. We liked the location very much and so will be staying at this hotel again!

Overall this hotel did not meet our expectations. Rooms are comfortable, albeit a little shabby chic. Check in was a little confusing and there is porterage, but no lift. The main purpose of the visit was to celebrate Christmas, but that proved disappointing. Apart from a large tree in the entrance decorations were sparse....as were the staff. Reception closed down over Christmas, leaving room keys unattended and bar staff and waiting staff were stretched to their limits. Dinner outside Christmas Daywas quite good, but Christmas lunch was dreadful....meals plated up well in advance and not very appetising. It did not help that as well as having over 40 guests staying, lunch was also open to the public. Due to staffing shortages, it took ages to be served and, due to seating arrangements, our table was the last to be served. Lunch was only memorable for its poor quality. Yes, the hotel put gifts in our room, but staff were pleasantly indifferent to us rather than full of Christmas cheer. It was like staying in an old country house where the owners had decamped with nost of the staff and taken the real Christmas with them. We were left with its ghost. We would not stay here again.

First visit there, recommended by a local yokel - really nice hotel - not too big - not too small - really nice. Obviously an old converted stately home. Huge rooms - good and cosy bar - above average hotel restaurant Good staff - nothing too much of a problem would I stay there again most surely

Recently re-visited the Leigh Park hotel (on business) after an absence of 18 months or so, and was absolutely delighted that not only was I recognised (for all the right reasons, i hope!), but was presented with a bottle of their own wine labelled "welcome back". It's customer service like that that you rarely find these days, and I have no hesitation in re-iterating that the Leigh Park is a little gem in the Wiltshire countryside. So a big thank you to Pam and Courtney and the Leigh Park team for making me welcome once again ... hope to be back again soon.

We recently stayed for 6 nights, our room was in the converted barn alongside the original house, now hotel. Our room was large with a great bathroom & shower - heated floor was a bonus. Large king size bed + dead quiet at night = great sleep quality. All staff we dealt with were friendly helpful and accommodating. In particular the chap with the tatt on the back of his neck (didn't catch his name!) he was everywhere, seemed to have a hand in most practical operations - don't lose him! The meals we had were well prepared and presented and reasonably priced. We were very pleased with our stay!

Comfortable and welcoming, if a little careworn, this hotel delivers a pleasant stay, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The tiny bar is cosy and surprisingly well-stocked for its size; the dining room is a bit old-fashioned but serves satisfactory ‘British fare' type food. There's little else better in Bradford on Avon, which rather lacks exciting places to eat.

we attended a wedding at the leigh park hotel, on arrival friday afternoon for our pre booked and pre paid room the service from reception was very good we was given our and offered help with the luggage, the room was clean and spacious in this beautiful 16th century house with original fixtures, we dined that evening with the bride and maid of honour, the kitchen slightly let themselves down a bit even though the stakes was cooked as requested they took a bit of chewing as if they was not cooked from room temperature, we did not send them back as not to offend the bride, the wedding was handled by very smart and well mannered staff and went perfectly smooth well done for that, but the kitchen slightly let them down, but over all a very good job done, sunday morning breakfast was spot on ,on departure we was given a very nice departure from reception. All in all a very nice weekend,the hotel was clean all through out, the staff was very good well mannered and very professional, thanks for that regard Philip

The room was large and we'll appointed. Bed was comfortable, I slept well. Grounds and views are wonderful. Evening meal was tasty and reasonably priced. Overall a good experience and would stay again.

I understand this is a quite cheap 3 stars hotel but the building is a little bit outdated and needs a refurbishment ASAP. Room are clean enough but not very spacious and ventilate. They are equipped with the extremely basic things. Our room was very noisy (above all during the night), because you could hear very loud screams, steps and appliances all around us. Sometimes in the middle of the night and/or early morning there is someone using a vacuum or something - very noisy - similar appliance. The bedroom we had was absolutely uncomfortable (worst mattress ever had). Basically a nightmare!

At £88 I thought this was good value, a nice relaxed atmosphere and a pleasant stay, combined with a function that included a very good and well presented meal, service at the bar was competent and well organised, which is good at busy times.

Family trip to Bath and several of us stayed in Bradford on Avon to complete the trip. Comfortable room and efficient, helpful service. Breakfast was very good and we all enjoyed ourselves very much. Quite a large hotel, just a little faded.

Stayed 2 nights here. Rooms were average and shower had no pressure at all so having a shower was a major event as you had to wash one limb at a time and that took forever. Rooms were clean but asked for a light bulb to be replaced as it had blown and it never happened so could not see the keyboard of my laptop as the blown bulb was right over the desk so was hard to work in the early morning as the WiFi did not come on till 5.00am so I could not access it at 4.00am when I had to contact Australia.Breakfast buffet was ordinary. No lift on the premises and getting suitcases up the winding staircase was hard and no help was offered. I am nearly 70 yrs old reasonably fit but I had been traveling for 3 weeks with a 50kg suitcase and my sister who is 70 had the same trouble too. There are no ground floor rooms at all Supposed to be a 4 star establishment (we booked it online from Australia) but I would say 3 stars would be closer. Would only go back if I really had to.

We attended a wedding reception here on 13/10. The room was stunning, and the venue is beautiful. What got me was the £1 coin situations. There was a notice on every till saying that the old £1 coins could not be used on the weekend of 13/14/15 October and the bar staff would not be accepting them. This is fine but for every round of drinks I was paying for I was receiving the old £1 coins in my change. It wasn't until the father of the bride had a loud word with a barman that he offered to change the £1 coins for new ones. May seem silly to some people but having £12 in £1 coins in my purse that I couldn't spend was pretty frustrating The on site DJ was also very poor. More nightclub music than wedding music.

Stayed two nights in September as a part of a small French group travelling in south England. On Friday night there was a wedding party with very noisy music, good for them but not for my sleep ! When reserving for a WE, ask for a room far away from the banquet rooms to get a quiet night. My bathroom only had roof lighting, making shaving very difficult, also no bath gel. Would have preferred more choice of bread at breakfast. I may have missed it, but did not find an international (CNN) or French speaking TV channel.

Last weekend I attended a wedding at this venue and stayed overnight. It is an ideal place for a wedding with lots of quiet areas to sit in, if you do not wish to sit in the main reception area during the evening. The views from the garden were stunning. The wedding breakfast was delicious and delivered efficiently by the busy waiting staff. The evening buffet was also well presented. We stayed at the hotel overnight taking several rooms. All our rooms were well appointed ,clean and comfortable. The breakfast choice in the morning was good. I am hoping to return to the hotel for a short break in the near future.

Went with a group of 14. We were well looked after without either discommoding other guests or being ghettoised. My room was well appointed,clean and comfortable. The food was consistently competent, although undistinguished. Good value for ,money. Not that easy to find without satnav

Attended a wedding at this gorgeous looking property and was really looking forward to it; unfortunately a number of things let this trip down. The rooms, understandably, are dated, but unfortunately are also in desperate need of some TLC. The room that I stayed in did not have a functional shower (no hot water), and despite attempts by the staff to get it going it would not work. There also seems to be some management issues. On the day of the wedding where there are over 70 guests, they put one member of staff at the bar, which meant a long wait for everyone. However, not all is negative. As mentioned the grounds of this period building are lovely, and the food for the evening and breakfast was delicious. Overall, disappointed with what could have been.

Lovely setting for my daughter in laws surprise birthday party. The suite had a separate room with tables a bar dance floor and room for the photo booth. So plenty of space for guests to mingle etc. A special mention to chrissy, who went out of her way to make it a memorable weekend.

Spent four nights at this hotel which is a 3 minute car ride from the centre of Bradford upon Avon and 20 minutes from Bath. Very reasonable price between £60 and £100 depending on single or double or luxury. I had a lovely quiet spacious double room overlooking the gardens. Meals are taken in the glasshouse with a superb view for many miles around. Food is very good and chef should be congratulated given that prices are great value. The female staff are in general fun and friendly. The men need follow their example. The wine list could be politely described as needing attention. Other than that I enjoyed my stay here. Well worth visiting the lock in the centre of town and spending a pleasant hour or two watching the narrow boats pass through.

We stayed overnight as a family member was getting married at the property, reception were helpful bringing up jugs of water, ice and fresh glasses for the bridal party as it was an absolutely beautiful day. Wedding breakfast service was average and slow, food was very good but it took along time to arrive and had big gaps between courses most of our table didn't even get a coffee at the end. Table space was a squeeze as side plates and glasses were not cleared during service (I did ask and was ignored by a young lady) plus the bride actually had to get up and ask for wine on our table as they had missed all the family tables, it appeared that they were very short staffed (confirmed by a member of staff 3 had called in sick) the members of staff there did there very best especially those behind the bar and should get a pat on the back, unfortunately I had to ask for tables to be cleared on more than one occasion as it looked messy for the evening guests arriving. Doors from main function room to the outside are lovely but would benefit from some outdoor lightning we placed lots of solar jars from the table centres and it made a huge difference. Finally our family room which was far more expensive then those in a double was small and right in the eaves not the best approach with z beds in the hallway and incredibly hot (on request we did get a fan) it was clean but someone had decided to take a wee in our toilet before our arrival which was somewhat off putting! Breakfast was nice if again slow with refilling hot option and no pastries left. All the makings of a great property decorating the halls to the rooms in the upstairs would make it a difference as it felt like stepping back in time and a fear what was waiting at the end thankfully rooms were ok decor wise.

We took an overnight stay for our son's wedding being held at the hotel. The wedding went well with beautiful grounds helped by the excellent weather. The service at the wedding could have been better and at times was quite slow. The service in he main hotel bar was also very slow and the barman was lacking in customer service skills. We had a very large room with a big comfortable bed and lovely view across the grounds. The bathroom was also large but the shower was very poor with very little water pressure. We had been told that discounts were available as part of the wedding party but upon calling the hotel direct I established that it was very slightly cheaper to book via booking.com or hotels.com. When I pointed this out on the phone I was not offered any further reduction which I thought was 'short sighted' given the hotel had to pay commission to the booking company. Needless to say I did not book direct with the hotel. I would rate the stay as average overall but it could have been so much better with a bit more attention to customer service.

Stayed 2 nights in Deluxe Room. As other reviewers have stated helpful staff and great location. Lovely grounds. Is undoubtedly great venue for a wedding but if like us you are just looking for a nice break it's probably best to avoid weekends in the prime wedding seasons. It's an old building so as you would expect floors creak and wedding guests will wake you up when they finish their celebrations in the attached function room. If the owners did update the plumbing (shower & toilet not great) and refreshed the paint work, and had a few more staff on a peak periods the hotel could be very good. Towels do need changing each day especially if there is a lack of towel rails - a table isn't appropriate in a bathroom! Overall we enjoyed our stay. Impressed that Reviews are read by Management!

We stayed here for a family wedding & can honestly say it was superb in every way, my only grumble was an upstairs room (so up & down the stairs on my bum) - not great for a wheelchair user & I would say when we booked we weren't asked if we needed anything special, but we were more concerned with getting a room for the wedding than getting an accessible room. Great staff, great location & great service - I'd recommend this to anyone. The room we have was great, super king sized bed & a great walk in shower with rainfall head (which sadly was about an inch above my head ha ha) Dont miss breakfast - its awesome & the bacon is the best I've tasted.

Went here for a business meeting the location looked nice on the surface but when we had the meals and coffee breaks I found it average. Maybe this was what the company had booked. The location was nice and the service we received was good.

Recently stayed at Leigh Park Hotel for one night which was a Friday as we were attending a wedding which was at another venue nearby which was fully booked, after checking in we were given our key to our room which was a ground floor room at the Coach House adjacent to the main hotel, the room was very spacious with all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay, we would just like to thank the guy on reception for his help in giving us a late check out on the Saturday due to us attending a wedding function. Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

We stayed Wednesday to Friday and were very impressed with this hotel. Friendly and professional ladies on reception who gave me the key to a ground floor room in the adjacent Coach House. The room was off the large and airy hall and had an opening window looking out onto the garden and vineyard. Spacious room (12 ft by 14 ft) with more space by the door and a small walk in wardrobe. the room had two chairs and a desk with kettle, china cups, ample tea, coffee and milk and two packets of biscuits renewed each day. The bathroom was also spacious with an excellent shower (though a bit slippery - really needs a mat) and complimentary shampoo, shower gel, shoe shine, sewing kit etc. The room was very quiet and comfortable. Free WiFi for any devices - unlike Travelodge who make you pay £3 for each device! Plenty of channels on the TV. We did not try the restaurant for breakfast or dinner, having made other arrangements but the ambiance of the dining room, overlooking the extensive well kept grounds, was very pleasant. All told a very pleasant hotel and good value for money compared to 'cheaper' competitors. Very convenient for Bath - you do not have to negotiate the narrow streets of Bradford on Avon as it is just to the north of the town. I guess that if a big wedding party is booked in at a weekend there might be people wandering around at night.

Stayed one night July 2017 Really nice setting, deluxe room very spacious, staff friendly and accommodating, although no help offered with luggage. Typical hotel prices for beverages and snacks. Unfortunately all a bit dated and in need of some TLC. Shower useless, morning and evening no pressure and warm at best. Upon checking out the receptionist was not interested, not even the customary 'was everything Ok sir' and when informed about the shower she had no interest or concern.

So many bad reviews recently must tell a story I don't like leaving bad reviews but right from the off the impression the staff give is not good. A miserable bar man who continued his attitude at breakfast. When you order a large round of drinks and get huffed at because it's busy says something about this place. No other staff to serve. There for a wedding, we were told we couldn't check in before 3, no problem. But there was a mix up with the rooms and we had apparently booked twice, I don't recall doing this but it appears we may have. The attitude was though that it was tough, get someone else to take the room or lose out...no empathy there. But as I say the attitude from one member of staff was truly awful, and agreed by some of the other guests who had dealt with her. Food was OK, room looked OK when we got into it but the toilet was disgusting, I don't think it's been cleaned properly in a long while. Very uncomfortable bed and a very strong smell of smoke in the pillows. We got down to breakfast at 08:05, there was a group there who had seated themselves, by 08:15 we had not been seated so I went to reception and said we had been waiting for 10 minutes, 'no, it's not been that long' said the receptionist...guess who? Breakfast was cold, the beans had a skin that I could have stood on, coffee and pastries were nice. Lipstick on the juice glasses...nice We left early, I couldn't bare to be there any more. £140 for a room is expensive but for that money I would expect a lot better, I hope the bride and groom enjoyed their experience a lot more than we did.

Booked a last minute B&B at reasonable room rate for a weekend exploring Bath. Booked a hotel out of the city to try and find some peace and quiet but Room 38 whilst it is very nice is directly over the kitchen extractor fan which sounds like a jumbo jet engine and the double whammy is that the entrance to the wedding hall means that all the smokers are congregated outside making a bloody racket so forget any chance of an early night or sleeping. I am extremely cross that this was not mentioned when booking as I would have gone elsewhere as I work shifts and value my sleep. They either find me a quieter room tomorrow night or I will be leaving and demanding a refund! Shame as its a nice hotel in a good location and I had a very nice meal in the lovely restaurant. But Best Western shame on you for doing the dirty on me, I will think twice about using you again

We had recently stayed in a Best Western Hotel in Pickering in Yorkshire (Forest and Vale) and were very happy with the bedroom, staff, food, service, etc. and assumed that Best Western quality was standard throughout their hotels. Alas, this was not the case at Leigh Park. I don't think that it was the fault of the staff - there just wasn't enough of them to offer a good service. Food wasn't great either. A very restricted menu appeared most nights and if there was a wedding you could wait 20 minutes to be served with one drink. Shame - wouldn't recommend.

This Hotel is in large grounds and was obviously once very grand, but my impression on entering was that it has seen better days and the decoration was a little 'tired' - although there are some areas that have been decorated and updated . Our room was on the third floor and there didn't appear to be a lift so we had to carry our luggage up three flights of stairs,- so this would not be a suitable room for someone unable to cope with stairs! The room was large and comfortable, with a good size en suite bathroom. Again the decor was quite dated but the room was clean and bright. The en-suite water supply seemed to be operated via a loud clunking water pump, presumably due to being high up in the building, on the third floor. We didn't use the dining room, but that was well-decorated and had big windows with views. I believe some parts of the Hotel are more modern than others, but if you are not good with stairs It is worth letting the Hotel staff know when you book so that you can arrange a downstairs room. The Hotel is about 5 minutes taxi drive from Bradford-on-Avon town centre, and the receptionist was helpful in arranging a taxi for us to travel into town. Bath is only a short drive away.

Oh dear, where do I start! On arrival at the hotel we were booked in and told where the room was, it was like a rabbit warren but eventually it was found. The room was extremely warm due to it being a hot day but unfortunately no windows were open and the towel rail was on full. The room smelled very strongly of food and on opening the windows we realised why....... there was the biggest extractor fan coming from the kitchen below. directly to to the side of our window making the loudest noice imaginable. We quickly unpacked and left for the afternoon. On arrival back at the hotel there was an ongoing wedding where the entrance to this was again directly below our windows. You could hear everything the guests were saying due to the closeness of proximity but we quickly got changed and left. On arrival back to the hotel at approximately 10pm the wedding was in full swing, we sat out in the grounds and had a drink before returning to our room. The noice was unbearable. Again under our windows there was shouting and swearing with the occasional whistle which continued until approximately 2am, there was nobody on reception and apparently a night porter was on duty but we didn't see anyone. The noise reduced slightly and we were able to get a small amount of sleep until, wait for it, .................the said kitchen extractor fan kicking in for business at approximately 7am! The smell of fried food soon hit our bedroom and the thought of sleep was now just a distant memory! We met with the rest of our family for breakfast and paid £12 each. On arrival the male in charge of the restaurant told us we would have to wait for a table or would we like to sit on the sofas outside with tables just high enough to be off the floor which would make it impossible to eat! I declined this offer and said we'd wait. In the meantime people were going in to the restaurant and being seated so after approximately 30 minutes of waiting we said we didn't mind having separate tables, he told us these people were from the wedding party and he needed to seat these first!!! We were made to feel like second class citizens, I asked if the wedding party had paid more than us for breakfast, his answer was no! Anyway eventually 15 minutes before the close of breakfast we got a table. We went for toast but there were no plates to put it on so we asked for these. Then we went to the hot buffet............ this was disgraceful for £12 a head, there were again no plates, there was no bacon, a few cold sausages, scrambled eggs with a thick custard like skin on, cold beans, cold hash browns and 2 tomatoes! There was one large slotted spoon to use for serving everything. I asked if there were any utensils and fried eggs the next minute waiters came rushing out with utensils and were told the eggs would be any minute, 10 minutes later we are still stood at the buffet waiting for eggs! Eventually the male in charge told us he would bring them to the table. When we had nearly finished the cold breakfast 20 minutes after asking for eggs the male arrived with them but no utensils and carried on to slide the eggs off the plate onto ours which slid and burst onto our plates............ it was like being in a carry on film. Will we be returning............ I think we can safely say no. The building is a lovely period feature in stunning grounds but that's where the complimentary expressions unfortunately end. On reception there is a sign saying if you have a problem we will do everything we can to solve it..........this translates to being given a leaflet and being told to email the said address. There's some lovely places to stay around this area as we have found over the last 12 months but unfortunately this time was short notice and the majority of places were full apart from this hotel..........I think this is self explanatory as to why.

Booked 3 rooms for our family of 6. Ground floor room for parents was lovely. My brother and sister-in-law had room 38 and we had room 37. Pleasant rooms and very clean but come bedtime- no sleep! The rooms back on to the courtyard and when there's a wedding on you get all the noise from wedding guests. And they were noisy! My brothers room also had the added bonus of kitchen extractor fan being right outside the window which guaranteed them no sleep! Why is there no mention of this when booking? We complained to reception but no manager on so just email. Then we paid £72 for 6 English breakfasts. What a waste of money and what truly bad service we had. On arriving at the dining room we asked for a table for 6. Non available so we had to wait. The dining room was full but still people kept going in. After half an hour we asked for a table for 4 and a 2 thinking this would be easier for them. We were told there was a wedding party of 100 and they were obviously the priority. By this time it was 10 mins before breakfast finished and there were no plates and hardly and food left. We asked for eggs and were told they were being cooked. We did get them about 20 mins later. We had already eaten our over cooked bacon and cold beans. On a positive note they had gluten free bread and the waiters and waitresses were polite. What had been a very pleasant stay was totally spoilt by the breakfast fiasco. To say they had 100 wedding guests made us feel like second class citizens and the food was awful. We paid a lot of money for this one night stay with breakfast extra. We regularly come to Wiltshire to visit relatives but we will not be returning to Leigh Park. Such a shame.

I was so excited to be staying here as it was once the home of an ancestor and although the room in the coach house was very pleasant I would have rather stayed in the actual house but they were full due to there being a coach party staying! The food was very nice as were the staff! The views were stunning including seeing one of the several chalk White Horses in the area!

I stayed as part of a group of 15 for a hen party. The staff were friendly and accomodating even when we swapped who was in each room several times. They kindly allowed us to use the conservatory area for a craft activity and we set up our own picnic on the lawn. We chose to eat dinner in the bar area and were allowed to choose from both the bar or restaurant menu. The food was good and there was a varied drinks list. All in all a great stay with everything we needed and a good location to visit Bradford on Avon and Bath.

Stayed at this hotel over a long weekend with my partner in bath. The hotel was lovely and the staff were really nice and happy and polite. the hotel its self is beautiful and the grounds of the hotel are even better. There is a very peaceful garden and seating area which is the perfect beginning or end to your day. This hotel is a 15-20 drive to bath and a perfect place to stay to feel like you have gone away.

It was raining when we arrived at Leigh Park and the man on Reception reflected the weather, he was very matter of fact, didn't have many people skills and we certainly didn't feel welcome. We went to the bar and had our room keys with us and wanted to put drinks on our bill, but were told that we had to have a green card with us, so had to pay cash, this was not specified when checking in. Breakfast was okay once the dining room doors were unlocked and one poor lad was running about trying to service everyone!! At check out the Receptionist woman informed me that she was running end of day reports and couldn't give me a receipt, again no apology or pleasantries. The place needs a good clean and update that's probably why the staff are as tired as the hotel? This used to be one of my favourite places to stay when working in Wiltshire but never again.

The accommodation and grounds are spectacular. The food is cooked fresh to order, and the dining areas have you overlooking the gardens. Staff are great, pleasant and professional. Best Western hotels most certainly have set a high benchmark for others to follow

The hotel is in a very good location, in a peaceful area. Great views of the local countryside. Booked a deluxe double however some of the decoration was a bit shabby, one wall had at least two shades of cream plus an area of white paint on it. ( should have called it a Dulux room!) The exterior paintwork on the windows was all flaking off, as for housekeeping the room appeared not to have been hoovered during our stay. Also the bed was not made up properly each day. In our opinion the breakfast buffet was average, the hot food was better on a couple of days when it was cooked fresh from the kitchen. One morning the staff were even moving tables and plants around, right in front of the buffet. Making it difficult to access whilst people were attempting to eat there breakfasts. This was very off putting and not acceptable. On this occcasion we felt the Best Western standard was not met, and we left a little disappointed.

The minute you turn into this hotel you feel this may be something rather special., and despite initial problems with car parking that was just what we experienced . We arrived last Friday just as a wedding function was about to get underway. (this hotel is renowned locally for these at weekends in particular!!... thus the parking issue ) so initially the staff were at full stretch. But a little patience was well rewarded. Sara was on reception and within 5 minutes we were in our room , which overlooked the fabulous gardens and grounds. which have been highlighted by many other guests Our room was large, well furnished and well kept . Yes like many things around the hotel . it could be freshened up, but then it would lose much of its character Whilst we did not use the restaurant other than for Breakfast the food choice for that was extensive and plentiful , and the cooked breakfast excellent. as was the service . This lovely hotel is relatively small in terms of bedroom and guest capacity but I suspect the needs and costs of renovation and maintenance is a real burden so in taking this into account the hotel is in good order. The small team of staff go out of there way to help you and I we will certainly be returning in the future. ..

We booked an accessible room and a double room. The accessible room was just that, Accessible! It was not user friendly for my disabled husband. only one tiny grab rail by the loo. Shower not accessible. Tiny little stool in it that would be fine if you weighed 6 stone!! Because it is a listed building the floors different levels that was difficult to push a wheel chair over the bumps. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. My husband and I stayed only one night of our three and they have agreed to refund one of the other two nights. My daughter and her fiancée are leaving after two nights as the beds are so uncomfortable they are getting back ache. The food was not the usual best western plus standard. I had overcooked duck that was dry and the skin soggy. The lamb my husband had was cooked within an inch of its life. Female waitress not knowledgeable. Drinks overpriced. I have stayed in many best western hotels but this one a disaster

Leigh Park is a lovely hotel with superb views over the adjoining countryside, and we were allocated a very comfortable room. We were staying to attend a friends wedding, which was a happy occasion, but let down due to a lack of staff. The staff who were present, were clearly under a fair amount of pressure and did not appear to be trained or particularly well-prepared for the event. Most appeared to be there grudgingly. Is service with a smile a thing of the past? On a number of occasions drinks served were short measures and/or overcharged. I'm sure this did not stop the guests from enjoying the occasion, but it felt as if the hotel did not want to add value to the event.

I stayed here when I attended my niece's wedding held on the premises. I had no idea this was a Best Western Hotel until I checked in. If you are looking for the experience of staying in an historic English Country House but with modern conveniences, this is the place for you! The house has a fascinating history - in 1574 Queen Elizabeth's favorite courtier, Dudley, was granted the house and Queen Elizabeth I herself is rumored to have stayed here. The rooms are updated with all the modern amenities - comfy beds, spacious up to date bathrooms. The rooms vary in size so make inquiries depending on your needs. I stayed in the newer addition and some of these room overlook the car park while others have amazing views of the grounds. The original part of the house is fascinating with staircases and different doors leading to other areas. One can imagine living here in the fifteen hundreds! The grounds are beautiful to walk around and one can see for miles including the White Horse. One of the recent owners planted a vineyard and the hotel has produced its own white medium dry wine. Breakfast is included and served in the comfortable, sunny conservatory overlooking the picturesque Wiltshire grounds. Breakfast is buffet style and includes everything that goes into making a traditional English breakfast. It was very satisfying and tasty! FYI I checked out various rooms while visiting with family and they are all very well decorated and comfortable. The staff here are very hospitable and helpful. The historic town of Bradford-on-Avon is a short distance from here and is full of history and beauty not to be missed. The World Heritage City of Bath is approx.. eight miles and again not to be missed.

Visited this hotel to attend a wedding. Really nice hotel.Nice and more than adequate room.Standard room facilities. Excellent breakfast. The one downfall which can easily be avoided was during the day the small bar was badly staffed and all the guests not just myself were getting pretty peed off with the wait which is totally avoidable. It is a Small bar but one poor sod working on his own is not acceptable. Apart from that would recommend this place

We had a two night stay booked as we were attending a wedding in Bath early on Saturday morning. The room we had was recently refurbished and apart from the fact had no bath but a shower only was very nice.We left our room at 7-15 AM to travel to Bath and was disappointed to return to our room at 2 pm to find our room had not been made up and had to go to reception to ask them. However it took another half hour before we managed to get some coffee. The restaurant had stunning views and was very light and comfortable but the only meal we had there was breakfast on the Sunday. Ordered poached haddock and poached egg which arrived 20 minutes later and was totally inedible. Nothing from the help yourself buffet was replenished and was messy. Had to ask the staff as the orange juice had run out, there were no glasses, no butter. The staff started to clear the cooked breakfast items away by 9.50am. Other people were complaining about omelettes and poached eggs. Had to ask for more food which came out after clearly being reheated.

The Leigh Park is a pretty hotel on the northern outskirts of Bradford on Avon (about a mile from the centre but a pleasant walk). We had a room on the top floor which while not large had a beautiful view across the Vale of Pewsey. The ensuite bathroom was quite small but perfectly adequate for our two night stay. Everything was clean and the tea and coffee making facilities always welcome. The self service breakfast was good and had a good range. Only downside was the fruit salad which was rather tired but not a major problem. We also ate in the hotel one evening and were more than happy with the meal and the service. Overall this hotel is worth a visit, it has some pleasant gardens and a vineyard to wander around (you can buy the wine produced from the vineyard in the bar). The décor in some parts of the hotel were dated but that did not detract from our visit. If you are visiting Bradford on Avon which is a wonderful town then I would recommend the Leigh Park.

We were there for a family lunch to celebrate my father's 90th birthday. The staff looked after us very well, form the moment we arrived. They were very attentive and ensured that we had all we needed. The lunch itself was very good, and no-one went hungry. All in all, a lovely location for a special lunch.

Stayed overnight whilst visiting for work. Clean and tidy, bit dated, but good value as B&B rate was just over £50. Breakfast was good. Hotel has parking. Didn't use restaurant for dinner. Would book again if I was working in the area.

We recently stayed at Leigh Park Hotel for a wedding. The building is lovely and the setting very relaxing. On arrival a rude receptionist told everyone that they could not check-in a few minutes, early unless they paid £10, and did not answer as to whether any of the rooms were actually available. I found it odd that both the check-in and wedding were scheduled for 3pm, as it was obvious that guests who had travelled some distance would require to change, which they had to do in the toilets. At 3pm there was a long queue to check in, making everyone late for the start. Surprisingly enough the receptionist was moaning about the queue. The food was mediocre through out – canapés and drink, half a glass of flat bucks fizz minus the canapés, afternoon tea consisting of half a round of dull sandwiches, a cut up sponge or two, a scone and a few strawberries. The other half of the missing sandwiches appeared for the evening buffet, along with some fries and wedges, and what appeared to be frozen sausage rolls. Breakfast was almost non-existent, and there was no attempt or offer to refill the buffet with nearly an hour of service to go. We ordered ham and cheese omelettes which came out without any ham or explanation. Our room was nice and airy with a pleasant view over the garden. It was more of an £80/£90 a night room, rather than the £120 we paid, due to its size. The evening bar staff were good and made an effort to be polite and friendly. All in all, the hotel could be much more pleasant to stay in. Its is a lovely place, but needs to stop giving customers the impression they don't matter, and to invest in some staff training.

Wow what a wonderful day we had celebrating my sister in laws wedding on the 2/4/2017! The venue was excellent, staff were perfect all day! Food was fab! Rooms very nice and comfortable, couldn't have asked for more! Thank you x

My daughter got married here on 02/04/2017 and had both the wedding breakfast and evening do here . Quite a few guests including ourselves also stayed the night . It was brilliant from beginning to end and the staff were excellent. The weather played ball as well which made the hotel grounds even more beautiful. Our room was on the ground floor and overlooked the grounds and we also had our youngest daughter in with us . Breakfast was great too and plenty of it . The wedding breakfast and evening food were also very good and plentiful. All in all a fantastic time . Thank you to all the staff who work there.

Room was lovely and service by staff was helpful & professional, really enjoyed my visit had a large car park and lovely views from the gardens. Easy to find and in a great location. Would recommend staying!

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the past few years and slowly it has gone down hill. It is in a lovely position and is a lovely building. We asked for a room overlooking the field at the back and ended up with a room at the front overlooking the car park and was told that all the other rooms were taken at the back.The hotel had very few guests. We were offered another room on the ground floor which looked as if it hadnt been make up from the last guest,the reception staff were not concerned and told me we had a nice room. The evening meal was poor, quality not quantity springs to mind,the restaurant staff were great and making the best of the poor food. The hotel needs a lot of TLC it all looked a bit tired. WE will not be going back

Visited for one night only and was pleasantly surprised that the hotel experience matched the outside expectation. The room no its amenities were all excellent, decent ensuite, toiletries, bottled water. However, I do have one issue. I arrived fairly late and therefore want to eat in the bar area (the bee was execellent). Therefore, I choose a simple Southern fried chicken burger. The fries were good as was the salad and bun. But the burger was awful, a reconstituted chicken burger with a basic (not southern fried) crumb. I ate it because I needed to eat, but would not buy again or recommend.

Stayed here for a couple of nights recently. The hotel is located just off the B3109 around one mile north of Bradford upon Avon. There are pleasant views across the local downs from the hotel's lofty position. For those wishing to walk into town, please be aware that it is a strenuous walk back up the hill to the hotel. Our room was located in the Vendange suite and was medium sized but more than adequate, although there was no bath. The shower was hot and powerful. Our breakfast on the first morning, however, was disappointing to say the least. The scrambled egg was verging on the inedible and there was a lack of items such as mushrooms and croissants, which made the cost at £12 per head seem poor value. In fairness, the mushroom and croissant situation was rectified the following morning and I had a freshly made omelette, which was good. We also had a couple of buffet lunches which were a little bland although the one dinner we did have was OK. Service was generally good, but I think the hotel needs to up the ante with regard to its food if it wishes to attract guests to revisit.

I stayed at the hotel for five nights on business. I regularly stay in hotels across the Country but rarely do I find inspiration to write a review. This time however, was different! I'll start with a whinge or two: Not once during my stay was the carpet in my room vacuumed. Five days, it's winter outside and leaves are falling all over the place, but in five days the carpet had not been touched. It was filthy dirty and in good need of a clean as well. The heating didn't start coming through my radiators until nearly 7am, just as I was about to go down to breakfast (apparently the boiler fires up at 6am, which is no good if you are an early riser and the room is freezing cold) and the working space is so minimal it verges on ridiculous. My colleague's room had a large vomit stain on the carpet and the room stank. She insisted on a move (having endured it for one night) but please, does nobody oversee the quality of room service? These are basics and paying guests deserve better. My bed was comfortable, but I would not suggest peeking inside the pillow cases! The décor is 80s retro with peeling wallpaper and migraine inducing curtains. My colleagues advised that the restaurant food was good and I can confirm that breakfast was likewise, if a little variable (pastries one day but not the next). There are plenty of good restaurants nearby however. My shower ran as a virtual tickle. I wanted to run a bath on arrival but it would have taken all night to fill, the taps run that slowly. Now to the noise; If you are staying for more than just one night and want a good night's sleep every night, then expect to be woken in the early hours at least once during your stay by inconsiderate guests shouting and talking loudly outside the front of the hotel or on the patio area into the early hours. I was once woken by people speaking to each other like they are yards apart as they passed my room at three in the morning. It's a wedding/conference/party venue, I get that; but can the staff not politely request that guests consider other paying customers? The staff are, like most hotels now days, quite young but distantly friendly and accommodating. The hotel could be a gem but Best Western are missing a trick and relying too heavily of single night staying guests who care nothing for anybody but themselves. This place also needs some serious updating to bring it into the 21st century. Not at all recommended and the conference room we used is poorly equipped and badly lit!.

We stayed here for one night only for a wedding reception. Our room was (when you found it) was ok and the bed was comfortable. Sadly we were woken up by the extractor fan from the kitchen at 4am. We were in room 38 in the main house. The shower is a joke, it must be the original fixed and certainly not powerful. Towels nice and fluffy and large. The breakfast buffet was very nice it was busy and we had to wait a few minutes for the buffet to be refilled but all cooked fresh. The main house is very tired and needs a refurb. The stair carpet is stained and in places it is threadbare. We asked for an early morning alarm call, guess what it never happened. We were told on check out that our phone probably doesn't work!!!

Am kicking myself that I spend additional money to book a room with a view - ended up in the attic in a room with a tiny dormer window - had to stretch to catch the view. Room freezing at mid afternoon as 'the heating is not on yet, mam'. Newly renovated bathroom with huge shower, but bathroom window frames are covered in mould. What a shame..... - thank God it's only for 1 night.

Yesterday evening I stayed at the hotel on business and I was pleasantly surprised. Nice room, traditional with everything you needed. Shower was lovely. The food in the restaurant was really tasty but I was a bit disappointed that the menu wasn't marked up with their gluten free options. For coeliac disease sufferers like me it is vital that this is in place. The restaurant staff were very helpful, a blonde lady in particular did go the extra mile to offer help. I recommend that you either have a gluten free menu or mark on to your new menu prints a (GF) addition so I can clearly see what is suitable without bothering the staff whilst their busy. Overall very nice. Thank you for having me ??

What a grand place, great big building at TH and he of a private drive surrounded by beautiful grounds. Check in staff was nice and polite and as a best western rewards member I got a room upgrade, I couldn't believe what I got. Huge 2 bedroom room great views, lovely bath and bath robes the lot! Food was nice and priced well. Breakfast was nice and cooked to order, my only let down was I ordered a paper and was told the next morning it wouldn't arrive till about 09:30 as that's when the staff go and get it! I thought why not get them on your way in at 07:00 but there you go! Great for couples, family and business

Came here during the month of August for a friends wedding. Was a beautiful day and there is no doubt that the scenery which is around the hotel is beautiful. The grounds are kept tidy and clean and the vineyard is a lovely touch to the surroundings. You can see for miles stood outside the hotel. It really is breathtaking. The reception staff were lovely, but somewhat a little bit snotty when we requested certain things, such as a change of room due to the uncleanliness but never the less they catered to our "fussiness". A gentleman named lance who was working the bar was one of the nicest gentleman we had the pleasure of meeting. He was happy and upbeat - which can't be said for other members of staff. He was a credit to the hotel - so if you happen to stay at this hotel and encounter a tall man named Lance I can assure you he will make your stay worth while! Of course, some members of staff were equally as delightful but this one man really made an imprint on my memory. Was a wonderful wedding, the wedding coordinator was fantastic and it really was a great time had by all. Will definitely be attending this hotel on my next visit to Wiltshire - hopefully some of the staff including the female manager (I assume she was the manager) will be a lot more happier this time!

Stayed here overnight on business and this was my second stay. Had a large room in the main building upstairs. Comfortable bed, nice food and good quick room service by friendly staff. Plentiful breakfast and good parking. Left an item behind and was promptly contacted on email by the hotel and offered to post but as still in the area was able to drive past on the way home and collect. Excellent service!

I have stayed here a few times in the last month or so, and have been put in very differing rooms. The newer blocks away from the main building have nice modern rooms, but the main house rooms are a bit past their sell by date. Nice and comfy beds throughout though. Staff at reception are very friendly and helpful. Evening menu fine but unoriginal. Service is very swift though.

Stayed here in September and all was good. This time around, not so good. Positives.... Large car park, vineyards to walk around, good food, good service at front of house Negatives.... Cold room, 3 dirty towels that also felt damp, mouldy bathroom window, musty smell in the room, kettle still with water in from previous guest, and a lukewarm shower the next morning. And I was sooo looking forward to my stay. I have to stay away from home so much, that to end up in a bad room is quite depressing, especially when you are away from wife and child. Almost feels like punishment. All-in-all not a great experience. I know you can do better. Last time I stayed I got a room in the coach house, but this time I had an original room in the main house (20) I couldn't recommend this hotel as I wouldn't feel confident where they would end up (I.e. Good room, or bad room) I have been fair and given 3 stars because this place isn't that bad.... It's just a bit pot luck I'm sorry to say that I have been put off by this last visit and probably won't be back unless convinced otherwise.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights, as I was attending a photographic course at nearby Lacock and also had a personal photoshoot at Tintern Abbey. I found this hotel extremely welcoming and traditional with fabulous grounds and views. My room was very comfortable and had all the facilities which I expect in a hotel today, including WiFi. The restaurant provided well prepared meals which were well proportioned and satisfying. There was nothing to go WOW about them, but they were enjoyable. During my stay there were two wedding receptions, but these did not detract from my stay. At the end of some intensive photography on each day, I was able to get the rest and relaxation which I wanted. This is clearly a wedding venue, but this did not affect my stay and I would certainly return here if the opportunity arises.

Stayed here for one night as wedding guests. The hotel is set in lovely grounds with a vineyard, amazing views. Our room was in the coach house section and was lovely. Bed was comfortable and the room was very clean, great shower, breakfast was reasonable. Staff very friendly. Would definitely stay again

The hotel is in need of some modernisation. The staff are very dedicated but the overall experience & set up is geared towards wedding/large group/corporate business. Having chairs & furniture moved to accommodate or prepare for a large function whilst you are either reading in the lounge or having breakfast at the designated time gives you the impression that you're in the way.

Our initial impression as we drove up was good as it was a nice building in lovely grounds. However, the entrance hall and reception were dingy and not really inviting, a bit like an old peoples home. Our room in the old coach house was lovely with nice views and a great bathroom. However, the shower switched itself on at 3am which was weird. The staff were lovely and very enthusiastic but the food menus were uninspiring and the food pretty average - OK but nothing special. I enjoyed our stay and would come again. With a little more effort this place could be superb.

Lovely staff, nice setting and beautiful hotel, shame the room was cold and the bed was a big hard. Very peaceful place if you're looking for a get away. The wedding itself was wonderful and the drinks are reasonable for a hotel.

We visited this hotel as a posible wedding venue a few weeks ago. The outside of the hotel and the pictures on the website looked promising. Unfortunately we arrived to find dirty floors and windows in the bar lobby and lounge area, there was also a very bad musty smell. The carpet by the so called feature staircase "wedding photo opertunity" was thread bare and shabby and was also by the gents toilets. The wedding coordinater disregareded me, the brides mother and the grooms mother as she only wanted to speak to the bride and groom which i found very rude and unwelcoming. she also wanted us to hire the consevitory part of the resterant so only half of the room would be for us the other half would have been open to hotel guests not be very privete considering the cost of the room hire she also sugested that if a hotel guest was to object during the ceromoney there was not much they could do about it.definately not a wedding venue for us (dirty shabby rude)!!!!!

We attended this beautiful venue to celebrate the wedding of our niece and her partner on 17/09/16 Firstly we must begin by expressing our sincere thanks towards each and every member of staff at the hotel for their 5* service! For any bride and groom their wedding day is of principle importance and they hope for a magical experience - this hotel delivered on every level. We were greeted on arrival by a very pleasant Receptionist who welcomed us as if we were staying at her personal home. A lovely warm welcome which set the scene for the rest of the excellent customer service we received during our visit. Fortunately for us our room was ready on our early arrival. The room resembled an old country house. Clean and spacious with an array of toiletries and tea/coffee/mineral water. The light and airy room where the ceremony took place had views across the breath-taking grounds. Chandeliers and tasteful decor - it was beautifully furnished. The Wedding Breakfast was delicious - the food was of a very high standard. What made it extra special was the service - all waiting staff were attentive and pleasant. Smiling and courteous they attended to each table efficiently but without haste. The evening BBQ was plentiful and tasty too - the only minor constructive criticism would be a few more outdoor lights to make it more visible when making a selection. Beds were comfy and the breakfast selection and quality emulated that of the Wedding Breakfast - lovely! Would highly recommend this hotel to any potential bride and groom. Recently attended a wedding and sadly the food was very poor. Reheated and miserable staff. Everyone walking around like it was a funeral instead of a wedding. I asked for a plate and a member of staff simply pointed at the them behind where she was serving and could clearly see I could not reach them from behind her. Exceptionally rude to be honest and very poor standard. The setting is nice and the rest of the facilities are okay.

We had our wedding here and Rebecca and her team could not do enough for us. They made what is normally a stressful occasion a very smooth and stress free day.I would definitely recommend if you are budgeting for a wedding but this by no means feels like a budget wedding and the staff can not do enough. Will look to visit again to just reminisce with my wife

We had an excellent wedding at this hotel they made everything really stress free. All of the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Rebecca in particular who is the wedding planner was amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel. You will not be disappointed

Checked in a room with flies and kitchen's fan just below our room, complained to reception can't do anything cos hotel is fully booked for weeping and realised our room has not been serviced by housekeeping yet. How can they can check in guest without service the room yet. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THEIR SERVICE.

This hotel is about 6 miles from Bath and a good base for seeing the area. Our room was in the converted stable block and overlooked the vineyard. The room was beautifully clean and very comfortable....would have no hesitation to return. Breakfast was delicious and varied.....hot dishes and more continental options available....and served in an attractive conservatory overlooking the garden. It is a popular wedding hotel and we were slightly disconcerted to find that there was a wedding reception when we stayed, but we were not disturbed at all by the party or by people leaving.

We stayed for a weekend away and found this hotel to be delightful. Even though there were weddings on all weekend we did not find this impacted us in the slightest. The room was lovely and spacious and the food was simply delicious. Breakfast was a buffet but the staff were continually coming out with fresh food. We found the staff to be very polite and helpful with no request being too much effort for them. All in all a very enjoyable stay, will definitely be back!!

Was there for stepsons wedding, bookings messed up , no where for groom,best man or parents of bride and groom to get ready as was requested when we arrived at 8 am yet other guest from wedding party got their rooms on arrival. room where we had meal very cramped, meal was nice and hot, no discount for guest from wedding party, wedding not worth the money that was paid , only 20 chairs put out for outside wedding so most of guests had to stand , we took a sweet cart that was put in shabby back room the had not even been washed neither did it get washed, bride and groom were not looked after as you would expect them to be on such a special day,morning after their stuff including cake which they didn't cover and placed on top of a cushion on a chair and not safely on the table , breakfast staff were the most polite and cheerful ones, the MC was miserable and arrogant very disappointed , as for the evening buffet didn't look very appetising I certainly could not face eating it the way it looked .

I attended a wedding at the weekend which was lovely but the staff need some serious work (granted - not all of them). I rang when first booking the room to ask for an early check in as we needed to get ready first. I was told this wouldn't be a problem and rang a couple of weeks earlier to check this. Again I was told it shouldn't be a problem. The wedding was at 1.30 and we arrived at 11. The room wasn't ready meaning we had to squash with friends to get ready in theirs. we were told it shouldn't be long so checked back before the ceremony at 1 - still not ready, it wasn't ready at 2.30 and it wasn't ready at 3.15 (despite official check in being 3pm). We were told that if we came back after the wedding meal it should be ready (should!). We didn't end up getting into our room until gone 5pm. When discussing with other guests, it turned out this was a common problem and even the groom was left without a room until that evening. We found out the housekeeping team had gone out the night before and were all hungover, hence the slacking. I don't judge but when you have paying customers, they should be the priority. If we hadn't been attending a wedding, we would have been waiting there for hours and hours! Working in a hotel reception myself, if we have guests turn up earlier than expected - they become priority. The bar during the day was poorly staffed, with only 1 person to serve a whole wedding party. (And he was a bundle of joy..not). The wedding was beautiful but the hotel was overpriced, the staff don't care about their guests and i can't see myself returning anytime soon.

Was a walk in at midnight and did manage to get a room so I am grateful for that. Ninety one quid for B&B means that this place should deliver more than a travel lodge but cannot be expected to reach the standard of other "country house hotels" (something it regards itself to be). The room and bathroom fell way short of a travel lodge - it had poor quality beds (or at least the one I slept in), a shower with very weak water pressure (a basic failure which is unacceptable) and was generally shabby and dated. Although judging it as a country house hotel may be harsh at the prices quoted the hotel largely failed on that score - public areas were functional but dreary, although of course the setting and gardens are beautiful. Breakfast was average but the house doesn't live up to its pedigree (it was once owned by Robert Dudley, Elizabeth I's favourite courtier).

We loved this place at first site. The building and premises have that old world English character. The views around the property are very pleasant. Everything was clean and well kept. The site is located 5 minutes away from the charming town of Bradford-On-Avon, and 20 min. drive to beautiful Bath. We stayed in the coach house, which is not part of the main building. However, it is still a beautiful building with lots of character. The room was roomy and very clean. The bathroom facilities were excellent. The staff was super friendly and helpful with all our questions.

Received a pleasant welcome on arrival, and then directed to our room (261) which was in the Coach House, a detached building with a vineyard on one side and the drive leading to the rear car park on the other. It was also directly opposite the area obtaining a number of screened-off rubbish bins. It was a large comfortable room situated on the ground floor, but the first thing we noticed were the numerous liquid stains on the carpet from previous occupants. Perhaps some stain removed might lessen the impact. There was a refreshment tray with biscuits and bottled water, which were replenished each day. The bathroom had underfloor heating (not used), a heated towel rail, and a very efficient shower. The room had two smallish sash windows, one of which was sealed shut, whilst the second could only be opened about six inches obviously for security reasons. We arrived on a hot Friday evening to find a wedding reception taking place which was no problem, but the noisy wedding guests returning to their cars late in the evening made sleeping very difficult. But worse of all was the inconsiderate member(s) of staff who felt it necessary to send empty bottles crashing into the nearby rubbish bins exceedingly annoying. The last of these actions occurred at 3.30am! The next day was little different, when a civil ceremony had taken place. Bottles again went crashing into the bins, but thankfully this only lasted until just after midnight. If the weather had been cooler we could have closed the window, but as it was a stifling weekend this was not an option. Had this been a Premier Inn we would at least have received a refund under their ‘good nights sleep guaranteed, or your money back'. Luckily there were no functions on our third night, so we had an excellent nights sleep. Breakfast was a semi self service affair of hot and cold dishes, and had all the ingredients to set you up nicely for the day ahead. The hotel has a large well maintained garden, and a small vineyard for guests to stroll through. Overall a very pleasant hotel, but one probably to avoid at weekends.

We stayed from Wednesday to Sunday for a mini break. The hotel is set in lovely grounds with a small vineyard. Our room was on the ground floor at the front of the hotel, nice and easy access as the hotel has no lift. The room was large enough and the bathroom a good size, although the shower could be rather temperamental. I made sure when I booked that our room rate included breakfast as it seems common practice now for hotels to offer room only. Breakfast can be costly when added on and although the breakfast was adequate I could not say it was amazing. The weather was warm while we were there and because the room was on the ground floor we did not open the windows and the room was stuffy at night. The staff were always helpful and attentive. We ate in the hotel dining room on the Saturday evening and both chose the beef wellington which was first class, so tender. There were two weddings held during our stay but there was no noise intrusion at all. The hotel is ideally situated for local sightseeing and visiting Bath, which can be done by train. The town is about a twenty minute walk - downhill, so beware coming back!! I would recommend and stay again.

I arrived 15-20 mins before the restaurant closed and was directed there for food from reception. The restaurant 'manager' then asked me to wait while he checked with the chef. The chef said no so ended up going to a garage for a sandwich - clearly the customer was not the priority. First and last time in a Best Western.

Had an overnight in the Coach House (Annexe). Room was adequate but very poor natural light. (Due to the design) Shower decent and the room was clean. Not much of a desk if you want to carry out any work. Didnt have dinner but the breakfast offered plenty of options. The staff were very pleasent. The have nice gardens and even a small vineyard and Orchard. Might stay again if in the area.

Had a lovely time at this hotel, great place to stay, nice location, restaurant very good, food very good although a little more than we would normally like to pay however it was for a special occasion, staff excellent in all areas, would highly recommend if you are in the area

The weekend started with a very friendly receptionist welcoming us and directing us to our room in the coach house. Not huge but big enough overlooking the vineyard. The bathroom needed a light over the mirror but we managed. The hotel had three weddings on while we were there but none intruded on our stay and we heard nothing of the late night discos. The menu would get boring with a longer stay (it was practically the same both nights). It was a bit unimaginative, but good both nights. Perhaps the kitchen cannot cope with many extras with so many functions to cater for.The Saturday evening we practically ate alone so there was no atmosphere in the restaurant as the wedding obviously took over the hotel. The same nice receptionist wished us a safe journey when we left. We enjoyed our break.

Delightful hotel, very friendly and discreet staff. Excellent room. I was very impressed with the size and decoration of my room, in a country elegant style and by the green spacious gardens. Very cheerful atmosphere, Perfect for a romantic escaped or a wedding party.

We had our wedding here on 07/08/2016 and we absolutely loved every second of it. The venue is beautiful and the staff were all so helpful and friendly. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish. It's clear that they know what they are doing, and they do it well. I stayed in the hotel the night before with my bridesmaids, as we got a complementary room for booking on the day of the wedding fair, and it was lovely and spacious, easily fitted 3 people with an extra single bed (not a fold out cot like you find sometimes) and the double bed was huge! There was a wedding on that night, but we couldn't hear a thing as we were on the top floor of the main house. In the morning, the staff willingly offered to help set up with my new husband and his groomsmen, and where we didn't have enough bowls for our sweet table they kindly let us borrow some. The wedding coordinator, Rebecca, is absolutely brilliant. She was very understanding that I like things a certain way, and she made us feel very at ease throughout every stage, and we kept in constant communication so we never felt like we didn't know what was going on. Our master of ceremonies for the day, Jack, was amazing and a really down to earth guy. He was always happy to help with whatever requests we had, and nothing seemed like a silly question. We booked the resident DJ with them for the reception. He was really good and happily took song requests. We stayed in the honeymoon suite on the night of the wedding, which was beautiful. Fire place, four poster bed and views over the gardens and towards the Westbury white horse. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better day and we will definitely stay there again in the future. Thank you everyone at Leigh Park, you are all amazing!

We stayed for 2 nights in a standard double. It was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was fine although the shower could have been rather more powerful. But it was adequate. We booked breakfast and the choice was reasonable. Perhaps a better choice of fruits and bread products would lift the standard. But look at the breakfast menu before helping yourself from the buffet as there is more choice than you might otherwise think. Service was fine and all in all, value for money.

Went back for our 1st anniversary and its lovely to be remembered by staff and greated by our wedding planner becky. Most friendliest hotel we have stayed in. So peaceful and has well kept gardens and a lovely view. Food is fantastic . Thank You to david for looking after us and keeping us supplied with drinks. We will be back!!! Again..

Myself and husband stayed at Leigh park hotel for three nights, the whole stay was very relaxing, as I'm disabled i was a bit worried how disabled friendly the hotel would be but was pleasantly surprised to find they catered for my needs without any problem, the staff were wonderful and very helpful, the room was ample in size and the shower room had all my needs, everywhere was clean. The restaurant was lovely and plenty of room, as I am vegitarian it's difficult to find choice at restaurants however the first two meals I was offered a choice by the chef, the only let down was the meal on the last night the veggie option was stuffed courgette, as I don't really like courgettes I requested an option to be told there wasn't any, it seemed a bit harsh to only give one option when meat eaters had a few choices, I couldn't understand why only one night there was no option. I did try the courgettes but didn't like it so was disappointed . But this has not in anyway spoilt what was a great visit.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. WARNING: if you book via internet check that breakfast is included. I thought it was but then realised it wasn't and had over £100 extra to pay. Not hotels fault but annoying all the same.

We have just arrived home from a lovely stay at the Leigh Park Hotel, having been to a family wedding. The hotel did a fab job for the wedding, We couldn't fault it at all. Our room in the 'coach house' was clean and comfortable, the only downside was the lighting in the bathroom, and no instructions to turn on the over mirror light. Breakfast was ok, with plenty of variety, something for every taste. I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding!!!

Stayed fora week for work. Room nice and spacious. Beds awkward as 2 together at different heights !!! Pleasant grounds and good car parking. But the meals were very average......dry food, and very rude waiter.to the point that his colleague apologised on his behalf. We stopped eating there on an evening following this. I would not return

Stayed here for 1 night as need to be near to Trowbridge. Charming receptionists allocated me a ground floor room in the coach house which was very comfortable and well appointed. Good bed and quality bedding. Free Wi-Fi in the room. Room service dinner was superb as was cooked breakfast in the restaurant with a lovely view. Plenty of free on-site parking. A really nice hotel in a peaceful location. Would happily stay here again!

We got married here on 22/7/16, we had our ceremony here & reception. What an amazing day sun was blazing & the hotel were amazing. Everything ran smoothly and the staff are lovely and so helpful. Bridal suite & the room I stayed in the night before were both great. I'd recommend it to anybody. Really helped make our wedding an even better day!

I have been staying 2 to 3 nights a week at the Leigh Park with work for the last 8 months. I have stayed in almost every hotel in the Chippenham/Corsham area and choose the Leigh park for many reasons. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is good but not fussy, the rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable. Although my work paid, the Leigh park is exceptional value for money and well located for Bath, Bradford and the surrounding area.

Ideal location for a few days to explore Bath and surrounding are. Plenty of parking. Rooms were average but clean. Good facilities, TV, wifi, shampoos, coffee, tea in rooms. Breakfast excellent. Would definately stay again

Overall i was disappointed with this hotel. We paid for a 'deluxe room' which judging by the photos only means "we've redecorated this sooner than the rest". We were put up in the 'Stable Block'. The rooms were clean with a very comfortable MASSIVE bed, but for a deulux room for a couple I would expect a bath for this price and a bit of 'wow factor' this had no more wow factor than a Premier Inn. We arrived late and the staff had given up on us attending, it looked like they were about to shut up for the night and that it was an inconvenience that we'd shown up. There was a wedding party on right outside our window, which you think would have been given to someone actually attending the wedding rather than for another guest to listen to until about 1am. Their no smoking policy also seems to be an 'optional' policy for guests as the common areas smelt strongly of smoke. For the price paid i would not recommend staying here!

The location and setting was beautiful, which explains why it's a popular wedding destination. We stayed here 2 nights for our visit to longleat, as it's only a 20 minute drive to the park....and as accommodation goes it was comfortable......Though it does look a bit tired and dated, and the luggage racks were broken. The breakfast was full English, but i'd advise to order poached or fried eggs instead as that would be more fresh. Silver lining is It's only a 5 minute drive into the picturesque town, which has some delightful places to eat.

Weekend of 17-19th June. We held a family gathering here for a weekend with a big meal on the Saturday to celebrate my Mum's 80th Birthday. We could not have chosen better! Firstly i have to praise the Manager Pam Ducket. She always took my many calls, or got back straight away. She was very helpful and friendly and came up with many ideas to help me organise this weekend. She gave me names and numbers for outside help too like a hairdresser for mum, someone for flowers and another for balloons and room decorations. We needed various bedrooms for various members of the family, all of which were accommodated for. The food for all the guests was spot on even with various individual special requirements. The staff were all very happy and helpful. The hotel is very bright and clean and the gardens and views are a perfect place for photographs. Just perfect! My husband and I will definitely be going back and would highly recommend Leigh Park to anyone. Wendy

Arrived late at night to find reception staff having a stroppy because we didn't inform my 5 years old son was going to sleep on our bed. The receptionist was not very friendly and did make us feel very uncomfortable.

Lovely setting very close to Bradford on Avon, so excellent for visiting. Very gentile country hotel. Excellent staff. Nice to sit in the conservatory with a drink and relax looking over the gardens before going in for a lovely dinner.

Well what can we say? Absolutely amazing, from the moment we booked our day with Rebecca, she was always on hand to answer any questions & help to make our day as special as possible. The master of ceremonies Chris, was also superb on the day, making sure everything ran smoothly alongside Rebecca. Every single member of staff went above and beyond, making sure our guests were attended to, a special mention to Noel, Who has certainly gained a few fans! ?????? The venue is absolutely STUNNING! The grounds are very well kept, which has made for some wonderful photos to remind us of our day. The day ran extremely smoothly, the food was excellent, we could not fault it. We have nothing but good things to say about Leigh park, & would just like to say a massive thank you to all involved, for helping make memories which will last a lifetime. We recently help my daughters wedding at the Leigh Park Hotel, Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire and it was an excellent day in every aspect. Well organised, nice facilities and nice people with a lovely backdrop of the wonderful Wiltshire countryside. The service was excellent throughout our stay but especially through the duration of the wedding and evening party. What also amazed me was the cost of such an event - excellent value for money. Thank you everyone for giving me and my family a day they will not forget.

We held our wedding at Leigh Park Hotel and from the moment we met Pam and the team, a year prior to the main event, they were nothing but a delight.So helpful but so at ease with everything.The fact they hold so many weddings was not just reassuring they know what they are doing but, as we also found out, why so many Wed there. The Venue itself is perfect an old building but wonderfully decorated and with a wedding venue that unlike several we visited flows ideally especially for weddings. The wedding ceremony was held in the vine room and then we moved through to the Vendange suite area. Ideal for our 80 guests a lovely oak floored wedding breakfast room that later opens up through oak doors to a wonderful dance floor and also a large bar area and quiet room at the back. The main room also leads out onto wonderful grounds that was perfect for all to enjoy and for kids to runaround. We bought our own garden games like footballs great for the men and boys and the hoola hoops for the kids a real winner. The hotel also has its own vineyard wonderful for our romantic wedding shots.We bought hotel produced wine as gifts for our guests which for many already has been a real winner. The fireworks, that the hotel can organise for you, were also a winner and the flowers that again the venue can help with (through Jacqui), were beautiful .We'd also recommend our other services, beautiful cake (sandra monger), magician (grand maidment), both from Bath and the harpist (Christine Hinder) from Swindon. The honeymoon suite is wonderfully decorated and a lovely bathroom and wonderful views over the gardens and countryside. We also experienced some of the bedrooms in the in the coach house which again were nicely decorated/designed. So to round up the service, organisation and food on the day was great as was the service that Pam, Rebecca and all the team provided us from the moment we made our choice (which wasn't a difficult one)! Just a shame a wedding takes so long to arrange and so little to enjoy but thanks to all at Leigh Park, that's just what we did and will never forget.

We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Bath and surrounding areas. We were in the coach house which is separate from the main building and due to a wedding on Saturday night was a little noisy from the reception and guests leaving the car park. But overall, very clean and reasonable bed. We ate in the restaurant one night and had a very nice meal with the restaurant in the conservatory overlooking the garden. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Would stay gain if right deal was on.

Clean, parking on site and probably one of my 2nd best best Western hotels I have stayed in. Wifi inclusive and hopefully food Will be good too. Bathroom was clean and bed comfortable. Definitely recommended and will return if I get the chance.

Stayed at this hotel last night (4th June) following attending a wedding reception there. Hotel is magnificent and we were really impressed with our room. Wedding reception was also superb! Rebecca the wedding planner was so friendly and made me feel so welcome, and I was only one of the guests! Room was clean and wifi worked fab! The size of the bathroom was amazing. HUGE shower cubicle that was very clean! We stayed in room 253. The bed was king size and so comfy! We received a bottle of wine from the vineyard there on check out. Was a really nice touch to send you on your way following the wedding. The hotel staff were really helpful and pleasant. You were always referred to as air or madam and nothing was too much trouble. I wish I could say the same for the front desk/reception staff, however they were very rude, impersonal-able and made sarcastic comments! - particularly the one with blonde hair! That is my only quibble and we didn't let that spoil our stay, everything else was perfect and I will defo be recommending to friends and family and returning!

I arrived at the hotel after a long journey to find plenty of parking space. The staff were efficent and friendly and I was directed to the Coach House. My room was spacious and clean with a plenty supply of beverages and I was easily able to get on-line. It was a beautiful sunny day, so was able to make use of the superbly maintained garden. I had a good nights sleep, as it was very quiet. Breakfast is buffet style and was hot. I would be happy to return.

We stumbled across this little gem by accident, (14th May) I was looking for somewhere to stay so I could rediscover my birth town of Bradford on Avon whilst we were passing. The welcome was really genuine and the lady at reception made us feel really special she even went as far as searching for the hospital we were hoping to visit. When we told her why we were visiting she made sure we had a really nice room in the old coach house. The receptionist recommended the hotel restaurant which is where we ate that night, again the welcome was very professional and the food and wine (from their own Vin-yard) was very well presented and tasty. Our room was lovely, looking over the Vin-yard, not particularly to our taste in décor but very in-keeping with the location and hotel style. We had such a good stay we got up and immediately booked a second night at reception. Breakfast was buffet style which I wouldn't have expected at this hotel but no complaints the restaurant staff were very attentive and were happy to cook (to order) fried eggs for me. My only gripe would be that like a few other comments, my check-out was silent. No-body asked if we had enjoyed our stay or if everything was to our satisfaction (a different lady to the one who checked us in) which is a shame because I couldn't wait to tell them how great our stay was. It seemed as if it didn't matter as long as I knew my pin number. Overall a great (unplanned) weekend we would certainly recommend!

We had our wedding reception at Leigh Park on Saturday 7th May. The preparation was made extremely easy with help from Rebecca and other staff, all fine details were taken care of. The day itself was perfect, the suite looked stunning, the backdrop of the hotel is rolling countryside and was perfect for photos etc. The gardens are so beautifully kept. The wedding breakfast was fantastic and the waiting staff were highly attentive. Our master of ceremonies did a brilliant job in getting everything organised on the day and all ran smoothly. Our room was perfect and very comfortable, we had many guests stay the night and it was very positive all round. All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to book as a wedding venue, it was an absolutely amazing day with thanks to the staff at Leigh Park.

We booked a room in this hotel because we have stayed there once before but many years ago. Unfortunately it was no longer as good as it was then but, having said that, last time we were in the main house and this time in the Coach House. Arrival at Reception was OK and our room in the old Coach House had lovely views over the garden and vineyard. On entering our double room I immediately noticed how dusty everything was. The furniture was dark and the sun was shining and this immediately showed up the thick layer of dust everywhere. I rang Reception to ask to be moved to a cleaner room but was told there were none as they were full and we had to settle for it being dusted while we were at Dinner. Whilst complaining about the dusty room I also asked how to turn on the light (which had finger marks all over it from the previous occupants) over the bathroom sink. My husband who is 6 ft 1 inches could reach it but could not see how to turn it on. We were told how to switch it on but I could only reach it with difficulty. I eventually found some switches in the wardrobe which were for the bathroom but I never did get the 'heated' towel rail to come on and had by now lost the will to live! Pre-dinner drinks and dinner were perfectly acceptable but us, and other guests, would have appreciated if it had been a 'no mobile phone' dining room! The bed was comfortable and clean. I found Breakfast only adequate. An ample supply of tea, coffee, chocolate and biscuits were provided in he room.

Whilst the arrival at this hotel leaves you with a pleasantly surprised, both by the location, and the old traditional buildings, the nuts and bolts of providing customer service, whilst functional perhaps do not live up to the expectations of the modern day business traveller. The rooms are clean, and rooms on the upper floor have excellent views of the local countryside Food is about par for the course, and complimentary WiFi (a little slow) is available throughout the hotel.

Beautiful building. A little aged in decor and carpets (I stayed in Room 44 on the second floor). Friendly staff. It had a peaceful and homely feel and I would stay there again. It is very convenient for Bradford on Avon and about 15 minutes by car from Bath.

A pleasant, well situated hotel with delightful, helpful staff. Nice restaurant with mainly good food and reasonably varied menu. The Leigh Park comes up to its 3 star rating. I stayed for a week and had a clean, modern room in the coach house with view over the vineyard. Sadly, I understand, none of the rooms in that building have a bath. The shower is a good size. The "lounge" area (only in the main building) is not a convivial shape and somewhat inadequate for the number of guests staying. I arrived around 5.00pm tired after a long drive to walk into a very cold room. It was the week of extreme weather: hail, snow, sleet, thunder, frost, sun and rain. The room was unheated and I was told that the heating would come on at 6.00pm (around the time to go down to the bar?) and I found went off at approx. 9.00pm (just when one returns to the room?). To the staff's credit I was offered a plug-in heater for the room but when attempting to rectify the situation of insufficient heating with staff the following morning didn't appreciate a comment that they "had to be green" whilst I was turning blue. Additionally I pointed out to the staff that my towel rail was cold. I don't like having to use wet towels. Reception said they would look into it. That evening after returning from a day out, I was told that the heating had been put on for me.......... including the "oh so welcome" underfloor heating in the shower room which I would never have known existed and remained on regardless of the general central heating. If the hotel insists on leaving a room freezing cold for incoming guests, perhaps they could leave a note (I didn't find one) explaining how to put some of the heating on which, it transpired, required grovelling in the hanging clothes cupboard to locate various switches. To add insult to injury, the shower room heating and towel rail were turned off part way through my stay but by then I was wise enough to know how to put it back on. I did feel it was a nice hotel with generally exceptionally friendly, courteous and helpful staff but the cold room on arrival and general problems with the heating did mar my stay and had it not been for that I would have given a better than average rating.

We have just got back home after having our wedding reception at leigh park. The venue was stunning, the staff....Fantastic and the bridal suite was perfect. We honestly couldn't ask for more and Rebecca was so helpful throughout. THANK YOU

From the outside I was nicely surprised at the hotel, it looked quite impressive. There wasn't really enough parking (due to a function) so ended up parking in the middle of the car park which was acceptable apparently. The reception was modern and the girl who welcomed us was friendly and helpful - at this point I was feeling optimistic. Up the spiral staircase we went, found our room and oh no, disappointed straight away. I don't mind a smallish room but when the decor is dated it just really dampens your spirit. We tried the "bar" - again helpful staff but there was no atmosphere it felt more like a library or doctors surgery waiting room! Back to the room, the bed was small and for my boyfriend, uncomfortable. The pillows were hard and high. Then we get to the bathroom - only one towel for two people!! And the shower had no pressure - at one stage I thought it had turned off it was so soft. However whilst there were quite a few negatives I can't fault the staff or the breakfast which was delicious. Unfortunately that's just not enough to make me want to return.
