Very friendly welcome. Our double room with balcony was very comfortable and clean. Shower very good. Good choice of hot and cold foods at breakfast. We had one evening meal which was excellent but a little pricey. Free parking on site if booked direct with hotel or Best Western. A short walk to the sea front.

This hotel has a lovely feel about it, so highly recommend. The staff are very friendly and helpful at all times The bar in particular is very cosy with a lovely fire going and a spectacular gin bar. The room was spacious and light. Nice breakfast

The hotel is clean and most of the staff are friendly and welcoming. The carpark is good and has no height restrictions. Good location, a short walk from the beach and town. The room was very basic with a bathroom in a small cupboard space. Shower had very low water pressure and it took a long time to get the soap out of my hair. My biggest and most disappointing part of my stay was breakfast. I stood around looking for a plate and there were none, eventually a young man appeared and asked if I wanted a plate and got it out of the plate warmer, even so, the plate wasn't warm. I was then told that he would serve my food and I was not allowed to serve myself. I do not eat food that is not to my liking, such as snotty eggs, overcooked dry food and being a buffet, I asked if I could serve myself please and he once again refused, so I had a small spoon of beans and was given an inedible dry overcooked sausage. I would have loved a cooked breakfast but was not allowed to have what I wanted and got what I was given. Due to this experience and the lack of breakfast this morning, the hotel lost 2 stars off its original score and I will not be returning to this hotel. The Marriott or the Nici hotels are much nicer and in a much better location, so that is where I would recommend to stay in Bournemouth.

We had a lovely experience at the spa and the facilities were good. We were really disappointed with the food included on our spar day. 3 of us ordered the fish and chips. We each had 3 small pieces of fish and 5 chips!!!!! There was only one vegetarian option for the fourth member of the group. Then the brownie came out…. It was burnt! We had a booking for 13.15 for lunch and had already preordered the food when we arrived at the spa day. The food didn't come out until nearly 2pm

Stayed for a wedding last night the room was awful stains in the toilet bowl hair products behind the radiator no hot water on arrival and still none this morning room 46 so unable to shower before the wedding to freshen up or before leaving this morning . The staff however were very nice and friendly

Super stay, good location, impressed with the food (particularly my husband's rib eye - perfectly cooked!) A nice welcome when we arrived by receptionist. Lobby area pleasant. Our room was nicely decorated, it was warm on arrival, which was nice. Hot water did take a while to come through, but that wasn't a problem for us, we just run the taps. Beds comfortable. Rooms are not very soundproof. We found all staff to be very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful, a brilliant selection. We didn't use the pool, so can comment. Would definitely return to hotel if in Bournemouth.

Came here for a little night away when Bill Bailey was at the BIC. My partner decided to opt for a slightly more expensive option and booked an executive room with breakfast for £142 (including £8 for parking) When we arrived we were impressed by the nice modern entrance and bar area. We were able to check in a little early and were pleasently surprised by the large size of the room. We also had a balcony which was nice, although we didn't really have much chance to use it due to inclement weather. Whilst the room was a good size and had a sofa and TV and a decent hairdryer (a rarity in most hotels), we found the room to be very dated with dark funiture and doors and there was little attention to detail... for example the throw pillows on the bed were stained and there were no flannels in the bathroom. Also there were plastic cups instead of glasses in the bathroom which is not sustainable and just looks and feels cheap. The bed wasnt the most comfortable either but had a reasonable nights sleep. Overall the rooms need a complete refurbishment to keep up with newer establishments such as the Hilton and the Nici. One of the plus points of the Connaught is that it boasts a spa... we were fortunate enough to use the facilities which consist of a large pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. Again this area feels as if it needs some updating really but otherwise it was nice to have the option to use this. Breakfast the following morning was okay but I would have been dissapointed if I had paid £14.50 per head. It says tea and coffee will be brought to table by wait staff in the menu, however this was not the case... it was self service which seemed to cause confusion for quite a few guests.... especially when the coffee machine stopped working. The staff were pleasent enough but it was tricky to find someone to ask for something such as a special item from the menu such as salmon or porridge. The menu also listed items that were simply not being served such as continental meats and cheeses and fresh bread. The breakfast ingredients seemed to be the cheapest available - the scrambled egg was inedible, it tasted like powdered egg and the bread for toast was cheap white sliced bread. Perhaps I have been a little spoilt but I just expected a little more quality from the connaught especially for the price of the room mid week in February. There's a fair bit of competition in Bournemouth in terms of hotels and the Connaught needs to do a proper refurbishment of the rooms as well as common areas to keep up with the competition. It also needs to look at its breakfast offering or at least update its menus or remove them from the tables. Our stay was fine and we didn't experience any major issues but we both couldn't help feeling a little underwhelmed with the room and the breakfast offering.

My family and I had the best four days celebrating our sons wedding . We all had lovely room each . The staff where very accomodating and pleasant.The hospitality staff in particular worked very hard to make sure the wedding went smooth. The reception where very kind and helpful too. Rooms where well serviced every day by the hard working team and they where also helpful. I cannot fault the staff of the hotel and the service, the food was five star , the whole environment was spotlessly clean

BW Plus Connaught Hotel & Spa. Good location for getting out and about. Parking is very limited, especially over the weekend and the non residence in attendance for a wedding and then a Black tie dinner, restricted where we were able to park. Good breakfast, Room was ok, however there were a few minor issues that I am sure the hotel will address.

Don't leave anything behind in your bedroom! I am 100% sure I left my black coat in the wardrobe. I rang up the next day and they said they would check with housekeeping. I rang back again and they said my coat was never found. I understand the room was occupied the next day so maybe the next guests took it but that would mean the rooms are not thoroughly checked whilst being cleaned for any items left. My only other negative was the one lift they had was out of order and been broken for a week . We were staying on the 3rd floor . Not ideal with luggage or for many people . Such a shame as otherwise I would of given this hotel 4 or 5 stars

We were given, without requesting it, a free upgrade to a balcony room Unfortunately it was too cold to sit outside, there was no view and the outside door was locked. The balcony room was on the 3rd floor and the lift wasn't working. I have mobility issues but no-one asked if this room would be suitable. There was a loud banging noise in the bedroom from nearby carpet fitters. Had we been moved to a higher floor because of this? Their website says that there is no need to book for an evening meal but when we got to the restaurant it was fully booked for the whole evening despite only a third of the tables being occupied. I came away feeling that the customers didn't really matter

Positives: breakfast delicious. Great service. Good parking availability. Lovely pool area. Good location. Overall good value for money. Negatives: odd suite layout with bathroom leading off one of the bedrooms. Some issues which should be easy to solve: provide 2 remotes for two tvs! There was only one mirror in the bathroom. Uncomfortable sofa bed. Heating had a mind of its own.

Excellent staff and facilities. Room was dusty in places and had trouble with the TV turning off and had to call for the porter. Great breakfast and good bar service. Electric vehicle charging was very expensive.

Stayed here for 1 night, with my partner for a small break by the coast, the hotel is mins from the beach which is handy. hotel is split in 2, rooms are next door- this part is dull, bleak filthy corridors and look like the bates motel! 2nd half where the restaurant, spa etc is is really nice. Breakfast was good, although we came late- there were no Danishes available for us which I absolutely love with my breakfast. Many areas- no staff visible had to wait for them to appear. We used the spa, swimming pool is nice as well as sauna and steam room, Jacuzzi was not great, felt as though there was sand in the bottom and they put some kind of bubble agent in there which looked scummy and dirty, it was hot though! bath in room was cracked and needs repairing and AC/heating unit- batteries had ran out so had to ask for new ones overall- I dont think i would go back unless all things i have highlighted were made better

Absolutely superb. We booked a Spa break and were totally impressed by friendly and efficient staff, a lovely clean room, superb restaurant meals and service, and a truly excellent Spa experience. We left refreshed and relaxed - what more could we have asked for. Will most definitely return.

I have stayed at the Connaught may times in the past and I have always enjoyed my stayes. The hotel is located near the town and the sea.On this occasion the weather was cold but my room was well heated. the staff are always firendly and most helpful. The breakfast includes a god choice of fruit and cereals and pastries. The cooked breakfast gives one plenty of choice and the service is very efficient and welcoming. It is great to stay at a hotel with a comfortable lounge in which one can read in the evening -in this case in front of the fire. The bar is excellent with a choice of over 250 gins. The staff go out of their way to be welcoming and helpful in every way. It is great tio be able to use the gym, pool and sauna. All these are well appointed and very clean. I have never been disappointed in staying at the Connaught and I look forward to my next visit. On this occasion i was visiting family but I also have friends in the area. I My room was comfortable and well appoined with a comfortable bed.

Hotel is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful at all times. There is a great choice for breakfast and meals in the restaurant are excellent. Overall an excellent stay, downside is parking is not always guaranteed and the showers lack any power so not refreshing.

Hotel was excellent, clean, tidy and very smart. Felt the restaurant was a little overpriced & the menu limited but the food was very good. The breakfast very nice and hte staff were extremely polite and helpful.

- got married in april there and can't fault them one bit they were absolutely wonderful - nothing was too much! i was 9 weeks pregnant at the time and we were going to announce it at the wedding, so after the ceremony they gave me appletiser in a champagne glass so it didn't give it away i wasn't drinking - little things that they did off their own back to make sure it went perfect for us! never wouldn't of thought of that so was such a lovely thing which was greatly appreciated! the food was amazing, people still say now how amazing the food was! just wonderful! and this included a free night in the hotel for bride and groom including breakfast! the all inclusive package - all food included absolute bargain price and would've paid way more than we did! also, alcoholic drinks included for guests, a few family members of mine don't drink alcohol so they provided soft drinks for those guests for no extra cost which i found a lot of venues wouldn't do! nothing was too much!

Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling in the bedroom, stains on the carpet. No way to regulate temperature in the bathroom Very noisy late at night resulted in broken sleep. Room service very limited but amazing sandwiches. Excellent breakfast. All staff very welcoming Location great walking distance to town centre.

Room was dated and tired in need of renovation The vanity/desk was broken part of the trim wasn't secure and kept falling off. The room was clean Reception, Bar and Dining area nice and breakfast was very good. I was able to purchase a cake for my friends birthday which was a nice touch for our room, we were able to check in early which was also great.

We've been coming here for many years now but this year the furniture looked very tired chips etc stain on carpet on arrival we had no soap in dispenser told reception also the safe had been left locked but open Safe rectified and we were given a sample size bottle of something to wash our hands thought the dispenser would be replenished next day but no following day I left both empty dispensers ( shower gel now empty ) on sink and asked the room service to refill only shower gel replenished hand wash bottle removed surely this should be checked daily or at least ready for new guests Breakfast as previously was good servers young and lacking in service skills one young man not very professional in telling me I couldn't have cappuccino at breakfast gave the impression too much trouble The young lady supervising breakfast very Polite and efficient .Stayed over bank holiday there were 3 weddings taking place although had been advised if this did not cause any disturbances we enjoyed the pool area

From arriving to departing this hotel was amazing nothing was too much trouble the staff were friendly and welcoming and attentive we had a balcony room which was great to be able to leave the door open all night on very hot humid nights the spa treatments were very relaxing and the pool area was very welcoming with a nice temperature and very warm jacuzzi the breakfast was excellent the only thing I could say was that the parking was very tight and at a premium we noted from the hotel website if you book direct with hotel parking is free however my friend booked via booking.com and parking charged at £8 per night!!

Amazing room And had a lovely message definitely will be coming back again soon loved the spa and jacuzzi was so relaxing it's one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in the tulip suite was unreal loved that bathroom.

A short break. Great price. Very comfortable and well kept bedroom. Excellent breakfast. Lovely bar and lounge areas. Great decor. Would have gone in the leisure centre but we only stayed one night. Would like a balcony room next time to enjoy the views.

Communal areas are very stylish and certainly warrant the boutique hotel label but a totally different story when you step out of the lift to your room….. The decor of the corridors and as we then discovered our room I'd politely describe as ‘vintage' rather boutique! Extremely tatty and tired. Our suite was a disappointment for that reason - extremely dated bathroom regardless of the enormous spa bath, the furniture had seen its best, the carpet was stained and the room had a musty smell ( may have been the air con but even with the windows open I could still smell it - although I do have a particularly strong sense of smell!) . We were informed of a wedding reception before we arrived which I thought was very courteous which didn't actually bother us but the bins being emptied right below our room at 5.30am and then the area being swept out on BH Monday we could have done without! Breakfast was okay ( no meats and cheeses/ compote/ soughdough / bloomer bread out as menu suggested - however tbf I didn't ask about ) - I was guessing the PLUS part of the Best Western experience is having someone dish up your cooked breakfast but that didn't stand out to make it better! The youngsters serving didn't seem particularly enthusiastic either - rather jaded in approach. We used the Spa twice during our stay - there are tiles missing in the pool and on the wall and it's not an especially relaxing atmosphere in the pool area - lighting is bright and a few decorative pot plants around would perhaps make all the difference - big steam room and sauna though and pool is warm enough. We found Jacuzzi not powerful enough but then that's personal preference. I read in a managers response to a review the area is throughly cleaned every day - however I saw the same plastic cup discarded under one of the loungers on 2 consecutive days. The Gin Bar is an asset to the hotel and the atmosphere and decor of the areas for guests were really pleasant. Despite my disappointment at the quality of our room ( and I didn't complain at the time as I reasoned they were fully booked and I didn't think any other room would be a huge improvement ) the hotel was really clean and the WhatsApp communication a really good idea. Needs refurb to keep up with other hotels in the area especially as price not particularly cheap for the suites. This is a Best Western issue not the hotel management. Interestingly I found a similar review to this one dated July 2021 regarding one of the other suites - do BW take any notice?

My boyfriend booked this hotel as a night away for my birthday, and it couldn't have been more perfect. We arrived too late for any treatments, but it was so nice to unwind at pool and try out both the steam room and the sauna. We had dinner booked for the evening and the food was incredible, but we have Ben to thank for the whole experience. He was so knowledgeable about all of the meals, and also every drink we had! He gave brilliant suggestions that we wouldn't have tried, and provided some history to the gins we were drinking. The room was gorgeous and spacious, and I genuinely can't think of a single complaint (except I do wish we could have stayed a bit longer)!

After a couple of problems when we first checked in, we moved to a larger room and had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. There were a couple of weddings taking place during our stay and we were concerned that the hotel would be very noisy, but this was not the case and we were not disturbed at all. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel, very well furnished in lounge/bar areas. Our room (executive) was spacious with a balcony,well furnished. Enjoyed Nespresso and fresh glass bottles of water each day. Beds very comfy,pillows perfect height and softness for me. Negatives in room, aircom noisy (once repaired) and wall to suite next door thin.We could hear every word /sound of "passionate couple" . Room on top,floor but still lots of street,traffic noise especially at 0400 when dump truck called to collect rubbish skips below our room. Also could do with instructions on how to use TV. Meals...breakfast brilliant but dinner,no chicken option for main meal, too many fish or seafood options. Well cooked and staff were great but 6 nights with 2 options on menu we could,to our taste, eat was a disappointment. If we returned,big if.....it would be B&B and eat out evenings.

The building is old and crumbling. Rooms are tired and in need of some serious love. Carpet inside the lift plus a poignant smell that will stick to your clothing. TV selection was extremely, extremely poor. Food was below average.

Excellent Hotel with lovely staff, rooms and spa facilities. We arrived only the Saturday before arrival we were advised before hand that there would be weddings during our stay we personally didn't feel interrupted or that this affect our stay. Everything was great down to the breakfast and thoughtful concierge crevice via watsapp! We cant wait to come back. Well worth the money also great location for meals out and walking/exploring Bournemouth and it's beautiful coast.

We think the hotel was not worth the money we paid. The room was very small and dark , the bathroom was ridiculously small even though we paid for a balcony room. The manager failed to address the issue of there being no water in the tap in the bathroom sink even though we brought it to his attention on three occassions. On the plus side the breakfast was good.

This hotel was wonderful it was in a great location and was really friendly and was decorated lovely. We loved the restaurant and gin bar . Such a bonus to have a spa as well for the price it was so relaxing.

We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel.... the reception and bar areas are very smart. Like all British hotels, the communal areas are not so smart, but this is clean. The bedroom was OK, smallish bed, but comfortable. The spa area is good. The pool was large and the water was a great temperature and clean. There are only spaces for 4 chairs so it can get very busy. Breakfast was good. Staff were excellent.

Lovely hotel, lovely staff and lovely breakfast but the beds were not comfy. Went to the lounge/bar and there was no music or atmosphere. Location is perfect as it's close to shops, restaurants and the beach.

Very clean, comfortable hotel. Quiet as well despite the surrounding area a bit rough. Room on the small side and the bar very overpriced but all in all a good place to stay. Did not use spa facilities maybe we should have. Large car park. Friendly staff. The ladies who cleaned the rooms did a fantastic job everyday thank you to them.

Good location but not of a walk into town if you don't mind. Rooms were nice. We had an issue with the room which was quickly resolved. Basic spa and gym but good enough. Tight parking spaces. Staff very helpful. Breakfast was basic but good. Overall nice stay

Was allocated wrong room was moved to another but the room we should have had, had a walk in shower the we was moved to seemed better at first but on closer inspection was very dated & only had bath with shower. The spa facilities weren't brilliant either especially the pool area it had broken tiles, plaster's left lying around the pool & hair too plus the decor overall was very dated & not overly maintained that well

Good location, comfortable room, excellent staff. Stayed for 3 nights. Picked hotel for location which is centrally located in Bournemouth with easy reach of all attractions. There were two weddings when we were there, but the Hotel made sure that all residents were still looked after and we never heard any noise from our room.

This is a very friendly, clean and comfortable hotel. The staff go out of their way to be attentive and helpful. The service is excellent as is the food. This was our second visit to this lovely hotel and we had a wonderful break. We will certainly go back!

The staff were very helpful and courteous, the facilities are excellent, the room was clean and kept well by the room attendants. Top tip! Book on line as it is MUCH cheaper than booking direct. Their OWN website was £175 less for a 3 night stay, than contacting the hotel direct! We will return to this lovely hotel.

We went for a family wedding, the food and service was very good. Gentleman that worked at the hotel called Roberto was amazing. No stop working all day and night. Couldn't do enough for us. A credit to the hotel.

The food was overpriced and was fairly average. The room was large and although it did have a decent sized balcony it was facing east, so we were not able to use it in the afternoons. The shower cubicle had a hand grip which was useful. But our towels were not changed on our first night and there were only two plain biscuits, so we were not impressed with the overall housekeeping.

Had a great holiday at this hotel, the staff were excellent, breakfast was delicious all good quality ingredients. Room was spotless and comfortable, could have done with a slightly larger room and maybe a fridge, but that's just our preference. Swimming pool, jacuzzi, and sauna great. And my daughter and I had a excellent massage. Can highly recommend this hotel, and it's also in easy walking distance to sea pier and shops.

We got married here on 25th June 2022, was the most incredible day, Maria, Simon and the staff could not have been more helpful in ensuring the day went without a hitch. Fast forward 1 year, we stayed for our 1 year anniversary, and we felt so welcome and loved by all the staff, if not more than before. Could not recommend this hotel highly enough.

A relaxing break at a lovely hotel, an impressive Gin bar with in excess of 200 gins, professional staff with superb facilities. We are repeat visitors who have seen the hotel grow since over the past 15 years.

We booked this hotel for 1 night as seeing concert at the BIC. Perfect location, we were able to check in early due to the room being ready and use the spa facilities before 3 which was great. Super impressed with the cleanliness of the spa and facilities for females. We had lunch In the brassiere which was lovely greeted with a smile. The menu is a little pricey however the quality of food made up for it. After the evening visiting the BIC we returned at 11pm with a takeaway, when we arrived back the gentlemen Kev who served us at lunch in the brassiere welcomed us back to the hotel. Kev noticed we had takeaway and offered us cutlery and plates aswell as re-opened the bar for us to get 2 drinks to our room. Kev is a massive asset the hotel and we couldn't be happier of the service from everyone at the hotel and our lovely room for the night. Will definitely be back

We had a party of 82 for the weekend. Staff very friendly and food excellent. Well organised and the spa was great. Everyone in our group commented on how great they thought it was. All round great hotel.

We love this hotel as the staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent, the rooms very clean and the spa is a lovely place to relax and if you can have a treatment I don't think you will be dissappointed. We return time after time and you don't do that unless it an amazing experience!

Excellent hotel, very clean, warm and comfortable. Good swimming pool and spa facilities. Had amazing facial. Note you need £1 coin for locker. Would definitely recommend and return! If it hadn't of been January we'd of strolled to the sea easily walkable as is town and BIC

Came for a spa day for 1 with a prosecco afternoon tea. Which I had asked to be vegan. The spa is very clean and the relaxation room really helps you relax. The massage was amazing and just what I had asked for. She used some smells and sprays which really enhanced the relaxation! The cream tea was nice, I'm grateful they did one at all! So thank you! A selection of almond/soya/oat was offered also. The sandwich selections could probably be better but there was effort there which i appreciate. the scones were a bit overdone, but again no real drama! The staff were very friendly and welcoming with regular check ins which is always nice when dining alone! My real only annoyance was the size of the robe. Mine was pretty small and they only do one size. I used to come here on the Groupon offer and now I will just come here because it is a reliably good experience. All in all I 100% recommend the spa days here!

Stayed and allocated room 50? Something with balcony - however after being in the room with the balcony door open the room smelt of smoke as the next door room was on their balcony smoking and also chatting to the person inside the room - walls paper thin. Moved to 55 nice sized room again pointless balcony as no view - but the room had a very odd smell about it ?? Damp - wet carpet - no idea ? Shower gel was empty Breakfast ok nothing special Spa - pool great size but grouting needs a good scrub as could the floors leading to the changing rooms - perhaps the spa receptionist who had no personality at all could do a bit of cleaning rather than be on her phone! Jacuzzi fine Over all pool area lacked any sort of atmosphere Overall an ok stay but nothing special

DO NOT BOOK! I booked the Orchid Suite for my birthday, which I put in the booking so the hotel were fully aware of my intentions for my stay. They accepted my booking for the 2nd most expensive room they have at £210 for 1 night. We got a noise complaint which we completely understood and turned off our music and called it a night. However, come to morning checking out, the hotel manager was trying to peer pressure me into paying £50 for the noise complaints because she had to give discount to the room that cancelled. This was not in the terms and conditions and the manger made up this fee to rectify the loss in money she had to give to show good customer service to the room that complained. When questioned if the fee was in the terms and conditions of my Booking.com booking, she said that this is the hotel policy. I asked if she can show me proof which she was not able to do. So I then asked her if she's asking me to pay £50 or telling me to pay. And she replied ‘I'm asking you to pay'. As I am under no obligation to pay made up charges by management, I refused to pay (bearing in mind I'm a high paying customer of a £210 booking for 1 NIGHT) and she retaliated with banning me from the hotel. Wouldn't go to this hotel ever again after trying to peer pressure a customer to pay money for a made up charge. Disgusting and quiet frank ruined my whole birthday experience. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! THEY WILL SAY WHAT THEY WANT TO GET AS MUCH MONEY THEY CAN OUT OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. DISGUSTING!

Had another wonderful Christmas at this hotel.Our room was superb ,staff and management friendly and helpful to the extreme and the kitchen brigade to be praised for the quality of all our meals.We have already made our reservation for next year for a great stay.

Me and my partner had booked a stay for 4 days and there was a dead pigeon outside for 3 days We had no room service we asked multiple times for fresh sheets and did not receive Felt unclean on arrival

A very friendly reception and lovely hotel. Food beautifully presented and varied The New Year's Eve party was fabulous with lots of attention to detail We all loved the peace and quiet and easy access to the sea

Very comfortable bed but deluxe room could have been bigger. Great very comfortable communal areas. Breakfast good but had to pay extra for fish. Also only instant decaf coffee available. Good position close to town and beach

Review redone due to account hacking. Reception staff were rude to my partner. Bar staff were lovely at the Gin bar however. Hidden charges. Room was good size but dated and ceiling was damp and falling. Fridge did not work. Aircon controls removed. Unadvertised maintenence work ongoing which affected use of the changing rooms. Swimming pool/steam room/sauna was lovely but ceiling was damp and cables falling through. Better hotels in the area for the price sadly. Good location though.

We stayed in a balcony room for 4 nights. The staff were polite and accommodating during our stay and nothing was too much trouble. The parking at the hotel was also good. Unfortunately, we did find our room and the spa area to be quite tired, and in our view, it didn't reflect the hotel's 4 star rating.

The Hotel is in a Good Location. We have stayed here 3 times in total over a couple of years. The Hotel and Rooms were always clean , The Staff in the Hotel part of the building upstairs, were always very helpful. The Food was Good but , could do with a little more flavor .The Decoration is good . It can be quiet at times out of peak Season . Afternoon Tea was good service there slow when busy . There is a Spa downstairs with a lift & stairs , 3 times we have not found this area satisfactory. No one seemed to shower before going in the Pool ( Despite a small sign ) & there was always Sand in the Pool in Summer so people coming off the beach straight in. Also it had hairs in it . Despite my husband mentioning this to the Person on the desk down there ,bhe was met with shrugging of shoulders and " Oh well they are all adults" .Sauna was broken once when we stayed . The changing rooms left little to be desired, with leaks here & there . Overall the cleanliness of the Spa Area around and in the pool itself has put us off returning . ( We have stayed 3 times ) .But ,we will now look for a Better Quality Spa in a different Hotel ,that we feel is better run and cleaner over all because that was why we booked the Hotel. This part of our review is only added after we tried each time to talk about it at the Spa area and never got a satisfactory answer . The Hotel itself is fine .

Went with the wife for the afternoon tea, well how bad is it? rubbish is the answer, no wonder we were the only ones having it at the that time being that it was early perhaps?, No choice of tea just the commercial teabags they put in the teapot. Nothing fresh and the cakes along with the mince pies looked like those you get from Iceland. no handmade anything, warmed up stale scones with jam in one of those small glass containers you get at garden centre restaurant along with a tub containing clotted cream. We left most of it all a complete waste of hard earned money, thank god we never went for a meal. Even the lovely waitress could not save the day. Only thing we saw hand made were the tiny mince pies at reception

Great hotel with good spa facilities in a great location. Close to beach and town but in a quiet area. Rooms very comfortable and warm, we stayed when the weather was very cold and it was great to return to a lovely room. Staff very friendly and breakfast very good.

Had a lovely 3 night stay. Room was clean and warm. Breakfast was the best I've had at a hotel. A vast choice on offer. Dinner was very good. Staff lovely. Great location; easy walking distance to seafront yet not on a noisy road. Would definately go back again.

A lovely welcome with a complimentary drink. Martina in the spa was just lovely, showed us around and made us feel comfortable & relaxed. The massage was awesome and we felt amazing afterwards. The spa was perfect with the sauna, jacuzzi, steam room & pool all together and a lovely shower to have in between. A hidden gem in our home town. We will be back.

The communal areas are really smart and modern as is the Spa and pool. We arrived early so could not check in but were able to use the spa and pool. It was all very clean with a friendly member of staff to meet you. Check in for the room was quick and easy and once again the staff here were polite and friendly. The rooms are a slight let down, they appear to be fairly dated and could really do with a refresh. It was clean and had everything you needed for a one night stay though. All in all, the hotel is good and I would return when I'm back in the area but this would mostly be for the pool.

Another lovely welcome by reception staff, everything was ready and the room I requested was allocated so very pleased, room as expected as we have stayed in this room before, after checking in went for a swim in the pool, towel provided , very welcoming staff member, had dinner in the hotel restaurant, again staff very welcoming and attentive , nice warm quiet room, a few issues I had were resolved quickly by another friendly staff member, breakfast excellent, again all staff welcoming and nothing too much trouble,will definitely be returning.

Nice welcome we were early but whilst the room was made ready we popped into the spa. Lovely aromas nice warm pool & jacuzzi. Steam room too. Lockers were tricky to open. Room was light & warm. Nice firm beds plenty of pillows. Very quiet room on top floor of lodge (there is a small lift). Breakfast excellent efficient staff ( quick to welcome us, answer queries & deliver the coffee) lots of choice. I did take my own gluten free cereal but didn't need it as there were gluten free cornflakes & fresh fruit salad as well as gluten free hash browns. Didn't ask for GF toast as had no room left, so don't know if they also have that. The Christmas lights were brilliant, the market decent, big queues for hot chocolate & hog roast. We had a great time & the weather was kind to us.

We have just got back from a wonderful 3 day stay in the Connaught ,for my nephews wedding . The hotel is comfortable and all the staff were extremely efficient and friendly . The wedding was beautiful and all the staff involved put in a lot of effort . The food was EXCELLENT! At the reception and during our whole stay . We met Kieron ? The chef and gave him our compliments . The wedding meal was delicious we had beef wellington and it was cooked to perfection . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay Thank you Connaught .

Stayed for one night, we had a lovely massage each and enjoyed the spa facilities. We had a lovely room with a little balcony and breakfast was good. Hotel was a short walk to the beach and the beach was lovely. Overall a lovely time!

The rooms were very hot , you had to use the air conditioner to cool the room Down . This seems to be a huge economical and ecological waste . When I mentioned it I was met with shrugged shoulders Breakfast service haphazard , we had to chase staff for tea or coffee , lack of butter on the tables , slow to clear used dishes from the tables . More organisation and observation needed. Quality of breakfast food was good . I wonder if again to save food waste it would be better to have breakfast cooked as it is required rather than buffet as there seemed to be a lot of food going back to the kitchen at the end of the service ?? Staff very pleasant

We had a lovely spa break at the Connaught. Lovely faculties and not too busy. Treatments were longer than other places and we really enjoyed it. The food was lovely.l and the staff were amazing! They have great package deals with spa and we will be returning!

Overall a pleasing experience. Spa treatment ( massage ) very good would recommend. All staff I encountered were excellent. Some areas are a little tired looking. Good free parking and short stroll to sea front.

Lobby lounges bar and restaurant all decorated lovely, rooms and corridors very tired, main lift carpet is filthy. No air in corridors - very stuffy. Spa jacuzzi jets have no power. However food is great and staff polite.

Lovely hotel , comfy rooms , excellent spa and staff . Food was nice but considering there was 3 waiters service was very slow. Wasn't given correct cutlery for lamb I had to ask . Bath in room would of been nice as I suffer with back pain . I would come back but only as a treat as put everything together was quite expensive .

I arrived at the hotel after an error was made in a hotel down the road. The receptionist was very attentive, despite booking a room, she moved me to a more comfortable room in the main hotel as it was late and I had had a long day - she really listened to what was important and I have to say the room I was moved to was very lovely indeed. I would like to see a small plate option on the menu - only because it was late when I arrived and the portions of food served are massive. Average nights sleep, nothing that the hotel did wrong or could have done differently.

Booked 1 night in the Connaught Lodge but were ‘upgraded' on check in to the main hotel. Friendly and informative reception staff and all the staff we met were really friendly, cheerful and helpful. Room was clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Location was brilliant for wandering to the beach and amenities. We'd definitely go back.

Rooms are dull and dated. First room (definitely NOT the wow factor) the bathroom was of a poor standard and dingy looking. Air con worked okay, but we had problems with the tv. Complained about our first room due to a loud buzzing noise all night and lack of sleep. Upgraded room, the air con was faulty, opened window but noise from street was unbearable. Upgraded room was slightly better with slightly better decor. The bathroom had a jacuzzi in it but was still tired and dated. Shower head was grubby and shower tap came off. Paint was flaking away from base of vanity unit. Restaurant lacked ambiance, very noisy when large groups from private functions were drinking in bar area. Food was expensive for what you received. The menu was not changed daily, and the evening menu was the same for lunch lacked variety. Breakfast was great!! good selection of juices, cereals, fruit and cooked full English. The staff were fantastic and had excellent customer connections.

Fast,efficient and friendly checkin at 3pm.Lovely sunny,clean and large twin room on top floor of the Lodge.Indoor pool very quiet,with sauna,steam room.and jacuzzi.Easy walking distance to the town or beach.Despite there being a wedding that evening we had a quiet and peaceful nights sleep in lovely comfortable beds.Buffet style breakfast with such friendly,helpful staff after another visit to the pool.Brilliant

Spot on from the minute we arrived, could not fault anything, even the weather was good. Food was really good. staff were happy and smiling all the time, room was clean and spacious, and to make it special we had reserved parking.

Just back from a fabulous stay at The Connaught. Our room was lovely and clean, plenty of towels, and 2 bottles of complimentary water, which was a nice touch. The food throughout the weekend was excellent (compliments to the chef and kitchen team). Breakfast was good quality and a lot of choice. I would have liked to dish my own items onto my plate rather than the waiter, but that is my preferred choice. The best thing about our stay was the staff. From the moment we checked in all staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient - a real team effort. Special mention to the reception manager and to Roberto who was so lovely and funny and a fantastic restaurant manager!!

We attended a black tie event at this hotel . We stayed Friday night and had a 3 course meal and then the black tie event . The food was amazing . The staff and service was wonderful and couldn't be more helpful. Great comfortable bed and lovely room . Would definitely recommend this hotel . Perfect location easy stroll to the beach and free parking

We were attending a family / friends event held in the hotel. Good parking options outside and well regulated / controlled and not too congested. Warm and relaxed welcome at reception. Food at event was good and the breakfast very good - traditional English with Fried Bread - a rarity in 2022. Staff are really friendly - the night watchman - Italian - Gabrielle was fantastic and made sure we were well attended to. Even at 8am the next morning he was still as cheerful as at 11pm the night before. A gin bar with over 200 gins made it a real feature piece. We didn't eat there but the restaurant looked really nice. There was also a 10-15m pool and spa. The building is not modern so has a quirky style compared to modern hotels but that made it cosy and it was not noisy. There was a court yard and garden but I didn't use it. Recommend it and booked last minute - will go back just for the gin bar.

We stayed at the hotel for a three day break. Room was traditional but vey clean and well serviced. Really good quality breakfast with plenty of choice. but what stood out most for us was the friendly and helpful staff. Great location with around a 5 min walk to either the beach or the town.

We came for a few nights to getaway from London and enjoy the hit weather however it was far far better than we could have imagined. The staff were AMAZING! Every single one of them were so bubbly and friendly and helpful but I have to give special shoutouts to Christina, Luke, Thomas, Martina, Elena, Peter and Ben!! I cannot recommend these people or this hotel highly enough. Also the food in the restaurant was insane, and came along with the best service. If you're in Bournemouth, you have to stay here.

Stay at the Connaught Lodge for a long weekend whilst visiting for a bike ride in the New Forest. Hotel is well located near all shops and amenities. The beach is 2 mins away and the walk from the hotel to Sandbanks is well worth it.

We stayed for 6 days for our son's Wedding, the wedding day was simply perfect. the planning, organisation and caring staff made our stay just perfect. we all had an amazing time and would definitely stay again. Thank you all so much.

I have stayed at the Connaught over the years.I have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and always most helpful I value the lounges where you can sit and read.These are spacious and comfortable and adjacent to the restuarant. All the staff are most helpful. The gym, sauna and pool are excellent and are an addition al amenity to enjoy. The bedrooms are comfortable, spotless and cleaned every day. The beds are comfortable. The hotel is very well positioned near the sea and the town.The hotel is well organised and small things such as asking for more teabags and one's daily newspaper occur seamlessly. You can even pay for your paper in advance with tokens. Breakfaast has a good selection of breakfast foods. there is even fired bread. There is a good selection of fresh fruit and fruit salad as well as cereals. The restaurant has a good selection of foods with the same careful and friendly service. I enjoy breaks at the Connaught and whilst in Bournemouth I catch up with friends and family have friends who also come to the Connaught time and again and enjoy the experience.

Booked two rooms in "The Lodge", don't be deceived, it is not a Lodge in the true sense of the word, just an adjacent rough looking building next to but NOT owned by Best Western, but leased. Dark and dingy, the rooms were on the third floor, lift just about takes 3 people and one suitcase at a push, but it jammed on selecting floor number. Myriad of stairs to 3rd floor for a very dull room that bore no resemblance to that in the on line pictures. We refused to stay, and the receptionist in the hotel must have known why as there was no question of refunding our booking payments.

everything in the hotel was good, apart from the evening meals, same menu every night, no specials, and a long wait for food. Not much choice of side dishes, and no plain type meals, ie roasts etc . Menu needs a big overhaul and needs to be changed more often

Very disappointed with this hotel. TV failed to work, shower was hopeless. Carpets throughout the corridors were filthy. Room carpets stained, paintwork dull. In need of refurbishment. We had booked for seven nights but left after five because despite reporting problems nothing was done

Building felt a bit worse for wear as it needs some new carpets, replacement furniture and better wifi but it was less than 5 minute walk from the coast (although that was also up a steep incline). The spa was a nice touch and the food was nice. I also like how you can contact them via WhatsApp but still, for over £100 a night I felt it was missing that spark.

The room we stayed in was quite damp and humid and had a damp/humid odor. The pool and Jacuzzi were dirty with things floating around which ruined the overall experience. We couldn't enjoy the spa treatments as everything was fully booked up to 3 months so what it is really the point of having a spa and treatments center if you can't enjoy it. We had to pay the parking place daily when most places usually it is for free as you are a guest. The only positives were the distance from the beach and breakfast

The Hotel is very stylish and in good condition. The restaurant for breakfast is nicely laid out overlooking a very pretty courtyard garden. There are two bar/lounge areas one being the Gin Bar which was a lovely place to relax at the end of the day. The place had a warm feeling about it. Bedrooms were clean and modern and the air conditioning in the room was welcome. There is quite a lot of parking available, we had no problem getting a space but we arrived just as those were checking out. Reception staff;restaurant staff and bar staff were all very friendly, polite and couldn't do enough for you. Very refreshing.

We stayed at this hotel for a week in August. There were positives. Staff were almost uniformly pleasant and helpful. Location was convenient for the beach and the town centre. The beds were comfortable, there were a substantial number of plug sockets. The room was serviced daily. Apart from that there were issues. As others have noted about theirs, our room while clean, was dominated by elderly brown furniture not enhanced by the substantial number of chips on it. The balcony was not clean and only two elderly, weather beaten chairs were provided. The bathroom was clean but water pressure was low resulting in a wait for the sink to fill and shower pressure lower than what you'd expect these days. We hadn't expected to find an old fashioned shower curtain. The business traveller would probably think that the wifi connectivity which veered from the almost non existent to poor was a deal breaker. We had booked half board but changed that after a meal in the restaurant. Food quality was pretty average, service about the same and ambiance was canteen like. The price for this and for drinks here was high and didn't match the mediocrity of the offer. Breakfast was better though the odd item was missing on occasion due to supply problems. The continental offer was limited to, jam, bread, fruit and cereals. The lift, out of action briefly, was very small. Only two people with luggage could use it. All this would be acceptable at a lower price point but we paid over £200 a night for this experience. A swift internet search showed that, even in August, you can do better for the same charge.

The rooms are tired and looked dirty. Sanitary ware in bathroom was loose and came away from the wall. They changed our room but first tried to put in one with a bathroom the size of one you get in a caravan. Shocking. Food in general was ok. Ordered the Jurassic belly pork it looked like it had been sat on the side since the Jurassic period appeared to have been boiled and not completely cooked. Raised with the restaurant staff but nothing further. No apology just stated I'll let the kitchen know. Yes I know the hospitality industry is struggling to recruit, but when you do get them, train them. Only person that smiled was a lovely lady at breakfast. Breakfast was plentiful but service slow and sloppy. It does need a boost I'm sure if the hotel and the staff were invested in, it could be amazing We will not be choosing a best western hotel again if they are all like this one

We visited the hotel for a wedding show around. Although we were on time, we ended up sitting around for 10 minutes waiting for the events staff member to come and meet us. We are planning for December 2023. Unfortunately We were immediately greeted with a negative attitude to having a wedding on a Saturday in December because Christmas parties appear to be more important... Unless you're having over 100-150 people the impression given is the hotel is just not interested. We gave an alternative date to avoid Christmas parties to see if our plan could be accommodated. We were offered a coffee, with a suggestion we look at the brochure given to us. That was the last we saw of anyone. We expected the planner to come back to us to see if there were any other questions we had. We are planning a day that we want to be memorable. We came away from this hotel totally deflated knowing we're never going to get that 45 minutes back. If you're planning a wedding for anything less than 50 people, avoid this hotel…

Extremely good courteous service: beautiful room: nice pool & spa. Guaranteed parking slot. Everything about this hotel is good especially the courteous friendly service. Only a 7 minutes walk to the beautiful west cliff beach. Our best weekend stay in Bournemouth

Lovely friendly hotel in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff and service were excellent, parking available (for a charge), breakfast options were good and available outside in the lovely garden. We had a room with a balcony which was a bonus. I see some reviews saying the rooms could be updated. This is true, so if you want a super modern room this isn't for you but we enjoyed being somewhere friendly. Good location for town or beach. Thank-you Connaught. Every member of staff we saw was so helpful.

Me and my partner stayed here for 2 nights and had the double room with balcony which by the way was tiny and had stains on the duvet cover , mattress and pillows rock hard , very dated furniture , loud air conditioning , bathroom was not cleaned properly our arrival we was very disappointed as this was for my partners birthday the only good thing was the jacuzzi and the sandwhich we had on the 2nd day of staying here

Horrible. My friend and I booked a ‘revive' and ‘relaxing' spa day. We were told that we were going to be having a luxurious day. Luxurious is far from what we got, when we arrived, we were rushed along to fill out a form and to go to the spa area. Once at the spa area, we were given our robes and slippers and made our way to the pool to which we were greeted by children screaming, spitting water everywhere and getting in and out of the jacuzzi. Tell me what's relaxing about that? When specifically stated that there were no children after 10am, how could we relax? We then went to have our afternoon tea, it took the waitress 30 minutes to bring us a soft drink and 1 whole hour for our afternoon tea to arrive. Once the time of our treatments came, we were greeted with stern hostility where the massages were less than relaxing as they did something to hurt both of our backs and for us to seek out proper treatment to sort it. The only enjoyable part of this experience was the relaxation room where I got a 10 minute power nap in. What a waste of £85.

Wedding Venue! What can I say, from start to finish the staff at this hotel were amazing. They were always willing to go the extra mile and help out in any way. We stayed the night before and after the wedding and rooms were lovely and clean. The staff made sure the venue looked perfect for our special day and the food was delicious. A huge thank you to Maria and Simon for all of their assistance both before the wedding, on the day and after.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and polite. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant on one of the evenings and breakfast one of the mornings. Both meals were good. The lounge, bar and dining area were very comfortable and clean. A great place to sit and chat over a few drinks in the evening. The bedroom was very outdated with old fashioned dark wooden furniture. The a/c unit worked well but was very noisy so unable to leave on all night. The bathroom had a fair bit of black mould and flaky paint. Body wash dispenser on the bath was empty which I did not notice until actually in the bath so quite annoying as no other soap available. Hotel is in a good location. Car park spaces are very small. There is a charge for parking. If they modernised the rooms this would be a good hotel.

Ok probably for a few nights but not for a week or more.no entertainment at night .Staff disappeared when there was a wedding on.Reception were the best by far and one waitress who always had a smile on her face

We booked this hotel based on it's website description. It was for our golden wedding anniversary so we paid extra and booked suite,. A suite?????? We were given a corner room with creaking doors and floorboards. A TV sat at an crooked angle together wirth a small dreary painting on a vast expanse of cream wall set against scratched untily furniture. The radio had a broken aerial and the shower had a broken handle. It was a miserable dowdy 1950s looking room looking nothing like the website. Yet the ground floor resturants, bars and pool were beautifully furnished and the staff were very pleasant.The room ruined our experience. When we complained they took £100 off the bill but that meant nothing. We have stayed at very good Best Western Plus hotels in the UK and USA but this not one of them.

Booked a double balcony room for one night, I don't think it was worth the extra money for what you got. The view wasn't pleasant (buildings). The shower was was slow but extremely hot. Television didn't work properly and not all channels advertised. Excellent breakfast not included in the price!

The room i had that i was sharing with my husband was small, noisy. The bed sheets had stains on them. The bed made so much noise when just turning over. The AC in the room made so much noise. I am not impressed

Vastly overpriced and disappointing hotel. Charged almost £1000 for 3 nights bed and breakfast!!!!! There was a misunderstanding when I booked the room and I was under the impression that the cost was £600 for three nights which would also have been exorbitant. We had a gift voucher which I believe was honoured by adding the value to the cost!!! £1000 for 3 nights !!!! Room so tiny we couldn't move around (we were offered to view another room but were in a hurry to attend a family function so unpacked quickly. Not easy as not a single shelf in the room!) Avoid room 25! breakfast mediocre at best. Cheese ‘selection' consisted of 3 slices of processed cheese! Location great. Staff friendly and helpful. Room clean. Reception lounges nice but never again!

Great hotel, lovely clean facilities, friendly professional staff and fab leisure facilities which were also lovely and clean. Well done to the management and staff I will definitely be rebooking as I stay in Bournemouth a lot for work purposes and this was one of the best hotels I've stayed in.

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. Room was comfortable and clean, the staff were really helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was really good. Be prepared for the fact that the hotel does need a bit of a make-over, it's a bit tired (but show me a hotel that doesn't need something doing!). If you are a ‘larger person' then check that the shower will be adequate. My cubicle was tiny. The quality of the bottled water, tea and coffee in the room were really good. Freely topped up when I ran out. Easy walking distance into town, either to the beach front or to the town centre.

We went for a spa night and booked for a 3 course meal. The food including breakfast exceeded our expectations. The spa facilties were clean and we left feeling relaxed and rejuvinated. The rooms were clean and cosy and the beds were really comfortable, we heard no noise from our neighbours at all. The welcome recieved on arrival really put a fantastic start to our visit. We will definitely be back.

Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel had great facilities (lovely spa, great bar) parking onsite and very close to the town centre and beach- everything within walking distance! Very satisfied with the stay.

A Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean rooms. Very covid secure with access to ventilation. Staff friendly and efficient. Great breakfast with a good choice of food. Bar area pretty with a nice outdoor area. Good location a nice 10 min walk to the beach down the scenic zig zag path. Uphill coming back though. Had a lovely break and good value for money.

Booking an "executive" room upgrade guaranteed a parking spot important in Bournemouth, whilst the swimming pool provided a welcome afternoon dip. The Brasserie restaurant provided a tasty 3 course pre-theatre supper facilitated by a 1730 dining time, breakfast was more B&B standard however. No attractive gardens or sea views, but a pleasant enough outdoor seating area by the bar and restaurant.

This is my 3rd visit to the hotel for a spa weekend. Again it was a fantastic stay. Staff are very professional but also very approachable and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The spa is the best however been to. The treatments are amazing, fantastic staff. Rooms are very clean and very relaxing. The pool is a nice size with a lovely warm Jacuzzi and 2 saunas (1 coals and one menthol) . The restaurant ideally nice, good is lovely and the afternoon tea was really nice. Hotel is 5 minutes walk from town in one direction and beach in the other direction. Can not fault the hotel and this is why I keep going bavk. Can not wait till October for my next visit

Hotel is old in areas. Bathrooms in rooms not great, not like the photos and dusty and mouldy. old, weak shower and dated suite. Not minature soaps, had dispensers on wall. Not 4* spa hotel. Spa is not nice. Smelly like a toilet, especially the hot tub. Full of mature members doing laps. Not relaxing. Treatments good but need better customer interaction from therapists. They want you in and out. I won't be visiting again. Location is great though and bed comfortable.

Good central hotel with excellent facilities. Staff willing and very helpful without being intrusive. The gin bar was an attraction and lived up to our expectations....a large array of choice of gin and other drinks.

I stayed at the Connaught Hotel over the Bank Holiday. The room that I had was nice and spacious with a balcony. They had these couple of chairs on the balcony, but strangely no table to put your tea or drink on. I was not offered the perks of being a Best Western member. I found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. When I say that I am of course including all of the boys and girls that we do not see without whom the Hotel would not run so smoothly. Special mention should be made for Elena on reception. As I was not arriving until late she telephoned me to ask what time I would likely be arriving. I explained that I had no idea as the traffic was so bad. Message to management look after her. She is good. I ate my evening meals mainly in the bar and the food was delicious. If you love Gin then this is the place for you as they have over 300 different Gins I cannot comment on breakfast as I was room only. I expect that I will be staying at the Connaught Hotel again.

The mattress were uncomfortable also the kettle was to noisy the location was ok but some of the room had a view of a block of flats overall not a bad hotel with decent facilities and the staff were brilliant.

We enjoyed our stay and found the staff helpful and very friendly. We enjoyed a good breakfast. A bit disappointed with the spa as the jacuzzi did not have enough water pressure and the sauna was too dark. The lounge and bar areas were beautifully decorated.

The location of the hotel was ideal and central to everything. The staff was excellent The parking was good The service using WhatsApp was excellent and easy to use. The food was great the breakfast had a very big range which was really nice The gym was small but ideal

My husband treated myself for mothers day/my birthday and my daughter for her special birthday. We felt truly spoilt having a full back massage,sauna,jacuzzi,a dip in the pool followed by a lovely evening meal.We stayed overnight then enjoyed a fabulous breakfast which had so much to choose from. To complete our stay we chose to have a facial,visited the town/beach and then an afternoon tea. The staff were all very welcoming,the hotel was immaculate and a car parking space was included throughout our stay. We would highly recommend a stay here,in particularly if you need some precious me time.

We stayed at the Connaught hotel for a dinner dance. From the time we arrived the the service was great Very happy and efficient reception staff. This great service continued through the whole weekend. The room was clean and tidy and well maintained. There was a great choice for breakfast from fresh fruit to cereal and full English. You can get tea or coffee all day and there is a good choice for lunch. Afternoon tea is also available.. There were 71 guests for the dinner dance thd food was excellent and hot. The service was exceptional. The Connaught is in a great location a few minutes walk from the sea and town centre. If your in Bournmonth you should definitely check out this hotel

Very very friendly staff who couldn't do any more for you. Very attentive. Some parts of the hotel are very modern, and some are like stepping back in time to Fawlty Towers! The room was very clean and spacious, however it unfortunately smelt musty. One of the twin beds wasn't particularly comfortable as when you rolled over towards the edge the mattress dipped down. The TV was intermittent. The room was very hot, but the windows can be opened and there is a/c available. The breakfast options are excellent and the food was very nice and freshly cooked. The spa area was lovely. The only complaint was that the area surrounding the pool wasn't very clean. Great location for access to all the local amenities. Thought the parking charges were extortionate though, particularly when it's free if you book direct?! So not entirely sure what you are paying for.

This hotel is by far one of the best in Bournemouth, The amenity's here all excellent, and the service and staff go beyond there normal duties to make sure your stay is worth it.. Thank you all Staff.

Booked this for a night to attend concert, room was very nice and well appointed bed was amazing . breakfast was excellent overall a great experience. It was also handy for the town centre but quite , only minor issue was toilet was crammed in between the wall and sink unit .

Disappointing, fairly standard 3-star hotel. Booked a balcony and view, the balcony was small with 2 old wooden chairs, a door that didn't lock, and a view of the car park. The bathroom was cold as the roof velux window was draughty. The bedroom decor was tired and very basic. Location was ok, about 10mins to the beach or town. Parking was extra. Spa was tired, broken showers and no costume dryers, pool was a reasonable size, general area was a bit rundown and could have been cleaner. Staff were excellent- friendly and helpful. Breakfast was standard buffet, very limited for vegetarians or vegan

Limited tea/coffee offering, very basic, extremely astringent toiletries, poor quality condiments and misleading website regarding bar opening hours. Good location, good quality breakfasr ingredients and comfortable room. Better than average, but not very good!

Room was adequate but not up to expectations for a superior room,mattress was too firm for me personally,had better at a premier inn ,all staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast room was lovely and cosy, pity the dining room wasn't as pleasant. Vegetarian menu could be a bit more imaginative.

Hotel and service was excellent unfortunately amenities away from the hotel was lacking badly no cafes on beach front to get a coffee or anything if you wanted anything to eat at night or day the only place affordable was the pub but they do do a good steak at the hop inn

If you are looking for a venue for your wedding, then look no further than the Connaught. From start to finish we were made to feel special and nothing was too much trouble. The staff are amazing - so friendly, so helpful. The Brasserie was an excellent venue - we had the service, wedding breakfast and evening reception in there. Outside the enclosed garden was a lovely space for the drinks reception after the service and for photos. In addition you are just a few minutes walk from the sea, with lots to see and do for young and old alike.

Had such a lovely time at this hotel. Nothing was ever too much for the staff, they were all so friendly and really made me feel welcome. The food was delicious from the breakfast through to dinner and the portions were always very generous and the brasserie is beautifully decorated and has a lovely atmosphere. The selection at the bar is particularly impressive. The spa facilities were lovely really enjoyed being able to go for a swim and sauna before breakfast each day. Great location very close to the beach and the town centre. Will definitely be going back and will take the family with me next time. Big thank you to the wonderful reception and restaurant staff for making me feel so welcome.

Lovely hotel , friendly staff, good facilities , warm and comfortable and relaxing will be back at some point over the coming months . Would be nice to make full use of spa facilities next time and have a facial or a massage as it was fully booked this time .

Our Son and Daughter in Law had their Wedding at The Connaught Hotel yesterday. It was a fantastic day in every aspect. As regards the Hotel and arrangement of the wedding, everything was faultless. The way that the rooms were dressed for the Ceremony, the Wedding Breakfast and then the evening disco was fantastic. The food was delicious and well presented with good wines to accompany the food. The garden/courtyard is a nice setting for photographs. My Wife and I stayed overnight and our room was clean with attractive décor and good en-suite shower facilities. The full English breakfast with a choice of Continental Breakfast and/or cereals was also very good. All of the staff were excellent at every level. Highly recommended for a Wedding or just a stay!

Food amazing, staff lovely, location great. However, we upgraded to a suite then when we got there it was as given away to someone else. Upgraded to next room and was very disappointed. Very dated! It also had a bad odour. The shower drain and sink in bathroom were both blocked. The shower drain had lots of hair in it. Pillows were terrible too We went for a swim and the pool area was not clean!! The glass windows around the pool were barely see-through! Definitely saved by the lovely staff and amazing food!

Excellent location, a five minute walk from the promenade and beautiful beaches. Ideally located for our visit to the BIC. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable but the bathroom was quite dated. Tea and coffee making in the room. A good sized swimming pool and leisure facilities. Parking is available on site, but the car park is quite cramped and was busy. Parking is payable at £8, but is free if you book direct with the hotel. Lots of places to eat and drink nearby.

We had a lovely few days stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it. The location is brilliant to the beach and town centre. The rooms are large and has everything you need..we had breakfast and the quality was top class.the team who work there are all really friendly.

Overall a very pleasant weekend stay, friendly and attentive staff, nicely appointed rooms with an excellent shower, great food in the brasserie. Highly recommended! Be sure to familiarise yourselves with the location, the beach is a 5 minute walk in one direction but it's easy to lose your bearings amongst the high buildings.

We stayed at the Best Western as the location was close to where we needed to visit. The hotel staff were excellent, really friendly and helpful, we used the spa facilities which was a real treat and definitely made the stay special. At breakfast we were sat at a lovely table in a sunny relaxing environment and again the staff couldn't do enough for us and the breakfast was delicious.

Great location near beach. Local street area perhaps not the best, but basically fine. Really nice hotel, parking is limited. Great venue for a party. Food was very good. Bar staff extremely friendly and efficient. Room was nice. Quiet stay, perfect for access to the beach via the zig zag cliff walk.

Stayed for two nights. They did not replace the towels and have to go to reception to get new towels. Also, internet connection was intermittent and poor. Breakfast is good. I would not go with family. Lot of hidden charges such as parking.

We stayed on the Gin Spa package for one night and the whole stay and experience surpassed our expectations. The hotel was clean, service impeccable and food amazing, topped off with some wonderful gins. Happy hour is between 5pm/6pm and is £3.90 for selected gin and a tonic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Excellent standard hotel, well located with parking. The room was large and tastefully decorated and individual enough to not be a bland corporate hotel. It had everything we needed though I would say the shower was a little feeble. Staff knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Didn't have time to use the spa but for a longer stay that is a nice facility. I would stay again.

Visited for function to celebrate our Golden wedding anniversary celebration. Maria organised everything and she was very professional and helpful. Food was really good and plenty of it. Special thanks to Roberto who ran the bar, nothing was to much trouble. We stayed the night as many of our guests did. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was well organised and plentiful. Also most breakfast buffet have a tendency to be cold this was piping hot. Definitely recommend.

We chose this place for the pool and the location close to town and beaches. The pool and other spa amenities are really good. Elsewhere in the hotel the lounge, bar and restaurant are comfortable although you might think the brasserie pricing a tad over optimistic for the menu offered. Breakfast selection and service is top notch although (unusually for a Best Western) it is lacking a waffle maker. This, along with the awful TV reception meant I could only give 4/5 rating.

My wife and I stay regularly at The Connaught hotel and the hotel was up to its usual excellent standard. The room was very good and the bed extremely comfortable with a powerful shower and good size en-suite bathroom. The staff were very helpful and could not do more for us. the restaurant service and food we could not fault. The spa and pool was clean and very good. Overall we had a great stay at this hotel and have already booked a number of visits in the future.

Great weekend a large group of us barstaff stood out for me especially Thomas and Roberto and they did a great job as our group were demanding please pass to all staff they are doing a great job.Please pass on this message to staff I have worked most of my working life in hospitalty so I can relate to their role.

The hotel facilities and room are excellent.Room and bathroom was spotlessly clean. Just a short walk to the beach, pier and town centre. The food and gin bar are fabulous. We will be back to stay very soon.

A great friendly hotel. Everyone working so hard to make sure all the guests were happy. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Good spa with a decent sized pool / sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and gym. Would definitely stay there again.

Friendly and helpful staff. Good sized room with comfortable large bed. Lovely shower. Very good breakfast. Good late afternoon snacks in the bar. Easy walk to Bournemouth International Centre. The only downside was people in the room above walking around late at night and at 6 am on very squeaky floorboards!

Just stayed for 1 night. Hotel was nicely appointed. Lovely room. Very nice and comfortable bed. Good breakfast and lovely afternoon tea. My friend went swimming which she enjoyed so recommended the spa. Very easy to order a taxi to get into town. Only slight issue is tight parking so recommend a small car to travel there.

We arranged a short break to coincide with Valentines Day. Arriving at the property the car park in slightly cramped but eventually we found a space. As soon as you wander through the sliding door the welcome from Beata on reception was incredibly warm, professional albeit unscripted. We were able to arrange an upgrade to an executive room with balcony (room 9) and it was simply perfect. All amenities worked as you'd expect with a bed that John and Yoko would have been envious of. It was the best nights sleep I've ever had away from home. Quiet, well except for the sea gulls in the morning… pillows lovely, bedding luxurious and scrupulously clean. You couldn't ask for more. (If you can tell me who makes that mattress I'll buy one) Anyway, it was valentines night and we had taken advantage of the breakfast/dinner package; dinner in the Brasserie was a delight. The maitre'de (Elkin) would not be out of place in one of the London Grand Dame properties or any along Park Lane. He was exceptional. Again, nothing scripted just good old fashioned service delivery from a consummate professional. The food arrived promptly, drinks served attentively and the quality excellent. The Asian Crab starter (for me) and Smoked Pigeon Breast really set the tone. Main(s) included pan fried sea bass, saffron risotto with mixed seafood, & 100z sirloin. The green beans, honey roasted carrots were a perfect marriage. Our server ‘Eva' attentive, knowledgeable and very very polite, what an ambassador for your business. Pudding was the British cheese selection; only gripe, butter arrived chilled and took a while to warm up enough to spread and, the cracker selection was a little ‘artesian' and I'd have genuinely preferred something more akin to a Jacob's Christmas selection box (but that's just my taste) Overall, we could not fault our stay. The spa is amazing but treatments need booking well in advance.

Mattress old & sagging with pillows like cardboard. Had a terrible nights sleep. Bathroom mouldy, limescaled & had flaking paint. Mouldy stained shower curtain & no mechanical ventilation so walls were streaming with condensation & had to open window in wind & rain. Service & staff excellent but I wouldnt recommend staying overnight. You can get a better quality 2*

We stayed for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and took full advantage of the hotel's facilities - we used the spa, had a treatment, had lunch and dinner. All aspects of our stay were 5* and every single member of staff was friendly, approachable and professional. Highly recommend!

Spent 2 nights here with family occupying 3 rooms. All rooms were very clean, showers had great pressure and the beds were comfortable. Nice touches like a full length mirror and dressing table mirror. Good quality tea and coffee in rooms. Breakfast was excellent, a very good selection for both the continental and hot. I loved that tea and toast was made to order and brought to the table. We ate in the restaurant at lunch and a dinner. Food was mostly excellent. One issue with the ham sandwich not being as described (packet ham and no mustard) but otherwise some fantastic food. Great selection of gin. Spa was lovely and we really enjoyed our hot stone massages. Would be a perfect score but a member of lunchtime restaurant staff was a little rude about how busy she was and she didn't have time to make a latte. The rest of the staff were brilliant and so very helpful.

I booked this hotel for a weekend and I can confirm that those photos are highly edited. Nothing special, it looks more like a 3-star hotel rather than 4. The room is not that big as shown on their website, the air conditioner in the rooms is very old and it didn't work. The breakfast was awful, the menu was just the classical English breakfast and it was completely tasteless. It doesn't worth spending all this money.

ovrall the hotel is very nice, fairly modern airy inside. cosy gas effect fires in the lounges. the spa is very lovely , smell of ucalyptus on entering , in the sauna steam room . large length pool changing rooms a little tired. staff very helpful and friendly. i was given a single room on same corridor as companions but next door was a young couple who were extremely noisy. breakfast was lovely plenty of choice. parking needs addressing very small car park i had a lift .advice to share a car. near beach and pier . check in was easy and check out

Charming hotel in a good location close to both the sea and shops. Upgraded to the Tulip suite which was comfortable although a little dated. Fabulous bathroom with freestanding bath and twin sinks. Comfortable bed and pillows..Good supply of tea/coffee and complimentary nespresso pods. Bottled water replenished daily. Although the suite stated iron/ironing board it wasn't provided. Robe/slippers supplied for the spa. The biggest praise must go to the staff who were just so friendly and attentive. Breakfast choice superb. We had one evening meal which was just lovely and would definitely recommend eating in the restaurant. My husband had mentioned when booking that it was my birthday and a complimentary drink was provided which was a thoughtful touch and appreciated. Spa treatment was excellent and very relaxing. Disappointed that the relaxation room was not available following the treatment as this was in use for staff training. Pool very nice. Would recommend this hotel and definitely stay again if visiting Bournemouth.

We went to this lovely hotel for an anniversary afternoon tea. Staff very helpful. catered for all our needs. Selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes was great. lovely setting. we sat in the lounge with an open fire will be going back

We arrived early as we planned to head in to Bournemouth for a walk greeted by reception who gave us a parking pass asked to come back nearer 3 to check in. Upon arriving back just before 3 check in was quick given our key and advised our room was on first floor. Once arriving in the room we headed to the swimming area where we were greeted by reception and advised of the way to the changing rooms. Pool was fairly warm, sauna and steam room lovely to warm up in. Bar area serve some lovely gin cocktails I was recommended a few to try. Once getting back to the room to get ready for the evening the bath had hair in from previous occupants. My partner found thick dust on top of the pictures,TV, top of the wardrobe , smears on all mirrors. I feel overall the hotel could do with some TLC updating of bedrooms, furniture.

The celebratory dinner was well organised and the food was excellent. However, the cost of £320 for our 2 night stay was a tad expensive, bearing in mind the excessive bar prices. The rooms were on the small size, dark and in need of a make over. The shower room was so small it was difficult to enter the shower. The carpet was stained and worn as were the carpets in the hallways. In fairness, the hotel had a gym, swimming pool and a hot tub which we did not use. The staff were excellent whilst breakfast was one of the best we had experienced.

I stayed here with my husband on Thursday night, it was honestly incredible! The lovely receptionist checked us in ( sorry I didn't catch your name) but she showed us where everything is and was just cheerful and welcoming! We went to our room and realised we had been upgraded to a suite. We stayed in the Tulip suite and it was so nice! It made me jealous that I don't have “his and hers” sink at home haha! Bed was super comfy! The coffee machine and free bottles of water in the room was a bonus! We booked a massage and used the relaxation room which was just great, I didn't use the pool but looked lovely! Can't wait to come back and try the other massages they offer. We didn't eat in the hotel but the bar area looked lovely. We had breakfast in the morning which was great. Overall a amazing stay and we can't wait to come back in the summer and enjoy the beach nearby!

There is not doubt that this is a very good hotel and the staff are a real highlight (although they can be thin on the ground, which I understand with regards to COVID) but it is a little bit tatty in some areas more than others with the pool area being particularly run down and grotty. However this didn't stop us having a swim and using the steam room but a little work is needed on the hotel in general. Location excellent and plenty of parking. Breakfast good although some elements of it were pretty cold, which was a shame as the breakfast staff were lovely and worked their socks off. All in all, a good place but a few issues stop this being truly excellent.

The Connaught in Bournemouth was excellent for our New Year 2 night stay. Food was delicious and plentiful at breakfast and dinner. New Year's Eve was well organised in a safe manner, plenty of ventilation and not overcrowded. Would definitely go back.

From check-in to check-out Christmas at The Connaught was great. To see so many familiar faces amongst the staff it feels more like visiting family rather than a stay in a hotel. We were assured the hotel had done everything it could to ensure our Christmas would be as safe as it could be and that certainly came across throughout our stay - well done to Simon and his team of dedicated staff throughout to make this the case. Everything about our time at The Connaught this year was just like the many Christmas's spent with them in the past - relaxing, stress free and 100% enjoyable. A massive thanks as always goes to the amazing Elkin - he really is the glue that keeps everything together and he continues to go way above & beyond to ensure a great time is had by all - thank you my friend for your hard work and dedication! Yes there was some very very minor anomalies due to staff isolating but the remaining hotel staff worked their respective socks off to compensate and give the guests a fantastic Christmas. Overall a safe and great time was had and we look forward to 2022 already!

An excellent hotel within easy reach of Bournemouth town ,beach and clifftop walks.Very friendly helpful staff .Rooms comfortable with the amenities one would expect of a 4* hotel and more. As this was a Christmas break entertainment and of course the meals were superb and plenty of it .I wish I had bought some elastic trousers to cope with the growing waistline LOL.

Christmas stay. Amount of food was really mind blowing with good quality to boot. Staff were excellent in all areas. Room clean but bathroom a little tight width wise.. We are used to cruising so bar prices seemed a tad on the high side.

Overall good hotel, good service and plenty of food . Unfortunately a bad experience on boxing Night when having waited 40 minutes for our main course gave up after complaining , this was our wedding anniversary and spoilt what had been a pleasant experience.

We enjoyed a 3 night break in this lovely hotel. The staff were very helpful. The hotel was good and the food excellent. The swimming pool and jacuzzi etc were a real bonus . Parking was free if you booked thru the hotel but it was first come ,first served for places ! I would return.

Great location for town and sea front. All staff very welcoming, able to check in early and use facilities. Spa and pool lovely, proper jacuzzi, had a massage treatment which was fantastic from Andrea. Room clean and very good. Parking at the hotel a bit expensive.

Lovely Experience we will recommend and be back THANK YOU . It was Very Spacious with lots of Choices of Seating . We chose an area by a Fire and on the Sofas . We could have sat at many different tables and chairs . We live here and found this a very good afternoon tea and good service .

Hotel was very welcoming. Staff were excellent throughout and the food was very very good. We stayed for 3 nights and every breakfast was as good as the others. The evening meal was amazing. Spacious room, fridge and safe in hhe room a great bonus. Would highly recommend and will return.

We enjoyed a comfortable and relaxing 3-night stay here. My husband loved being able to have a swim every morning before the comprehensive buffet breakfast. Spacious room and nice decor throughout the hotel, great ambiance, everywhere spotlessly clean, staff very friendly and efficient. - great room service thank you. Ideal location with beach and shops within an easy walk. We loved the Gin Bar, jacuzzi, and steam room.

Another brilliant stay at the Connaught, We were a group of friends that have been going to the hotel for several years and it was good to return. The staff were efficient and friendly going out of their way to make our stay memorable. The food was excellent as always. The accommodation was clean and I felt very comfortable with the way the hotel dealt with keeping us Covid safe

The Connaught is now our favourite hotel in Bournemouth. It's ideally located close to both the beach and the town centre and shops. There's nothing nicer after a cold windy winter walk along the promenade than coming back to a coffee in front of a fire. We had friendly and efficient service from all the staff. Roberto who served us a couple of times in the evening was excellent and Cristina who we saw at breakfast took time to chat to us as well as providing the sort of service that keeps us coming back.

We booked The Connaught for 4 days to have a break and to see Steps in concert (sadly got cancelled due to covid). We arrived at the hotel at around 11am and got parked right outside the door, which was great as parking in Bournemouth is at a premium. We paid £8 a day as a guest and left the car in situ for our full stay. Perfect! There were 2 receptionists on duty when we arrived on Monday 29th November, and they were both so so lovely and friendly. Booked us in, explained where the room was and booked us breakfast at a cheaper deal, so we opted for it for each day. We were booked into Room 16 which overlooked the courtyard garden they have, which I should imagine on a warm day gets busy. The room itself was tastefully decorated in a sage colour with dark brown furniture (wardrobe and unit and bedside tables). The bed was lovely and soft. The hospitality tray had the most amazing hot chocolate sachets (we had to keep asking for more lol) and biscuits. As we had spent the day walking around the beach and the town and the various hills of Bournemouth, we decided to have dinner in the onsite brasserie. It didn't disappoint. Elkin the evening manager was lovely and attentive and as it was my 50th birthday the hotel gave us two free glasses of zinfandel wine! Yum! We ordered the bread and oils which arrived looking like small loaves of bread and tasted amazing. The balsamic vinegar tasted of a good quality. Starters wise we had mini duck pancakes and smoked mackerel croquettes, sharing the plates between the two of us. Tasted amazing! Main course my wife had a burger and I had the chicken stuffed with wild mushrooms and truffle, OMG it was amazing! We then went into the Gin Bar (they have gin o'clock 5-6 where certain gins are cheaper) and I had a Larios Rose with elderflower tonic and slices of strawberry. The recommendations on the 100+ gin menu are fab, they recommend what tonic / mixer and fruit to have with each one. Because Steps had been cancelled we decided to treat ourselves to a massage on the Wednesday. We both booked a back, neck & shoulder massage down in the spa. We were taken by the spa receptionist into the relaxation room which had loud moody music playing, muted lighting and diffusers scenting the air. I personally liked it but my wife wasn't as keen due to the fact we were sat in winter clothes, not asked to change or anything. Then the two masseurs came and collected us, my wife had a blond masseuse and I had a lady with long dark hair. My massage was amazing and I felt so relaxed afterwards, sadly my wife didn't have quite the same experience and is still feeling a bit rubbish and in pain 2 days later. We also used the jacuzzi whilst we were there, which was lovely. The pool is a rectangular swim pool and very popular. Breakfast was nice. The food was of a good quality and the staff were wonderful. The young lady who is the supervisor at breakfast was lovely, and it was great watching her training new staff under her charge, she was so patient. Ps the poached eggs were spot on! The coffee delicious! On our last night we decided to eat in the brasserie again, Elkin wasnt on duty this time, it was a tall flamboyant chap, and again, he was so lovely. Also, we arrived in tine for gin o'clock, so I had 2!! This tike we both had the turkey dinner which was delicious, the chefs have so much talent! The hotel have been having problems with their telephone system so have given guests a whatsapp number for anything, and they were so quick to respond and very friendly with a good sense of humour, especially when our room contained 2 incredibly naughty teddies! A lovely hotel with amazing staff who make you feel like you matter and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you for making our stay amazing!

We come here every year for our family Xmas meal as after trying a few different hotels we found this to be the best. This year we went early (Nov) and there were 42 of us. The staff still did us a traditional Xmas dinner - for a 3 course and tea/coffee the price was great and the food and services was as fabulous as ever. Many of us stayed overnight, rooms comfy and good size (avoid ones near the lift) and great breakfast . It also has a nice sized pool area not that we used it. Easy to walk into town / beach. Certain rooms come with a guaranteed parking space which is handy when it's busy as there is a limited car park. We'll be back again next year !

Visited Bournemouth to see OMD concert at BIC, checked on booking.com and saw a picture of entrance to The Connaught and checked it and price was very good. The stay was very enjoyable and look forward to revisit in the future.

My wife and I enjoyed a 3 night break at the Connaught hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Ticked all of the boxes. Excellent friendly helpful staff. Superb leisure facilities, spa, indoor pool, sauna and steam. Lovely food also not too expensive. Plus ideally located. on site parking was very helpful.

My husband and I took a lovely break at the Connaught hotel and spa. Room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The room was lovely and cool once I turned the radiator off at night. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the spa and our facial treatment was good. My only comment is the decor was a little tired in the room and the spa. The lounge, reception and brasserie however look like they've had an update and were beautifully decorated.

As we have come to expect from the Best Western Hotels we recieved a lovely welcome from reception staff and booking in went very smooth, room allocated was exactly as expected, top floor, garden view, nice and quiet, clean and tidy, a couple of small niggles that i will mention but did not affect our stay what so ever, bathroom towel radiator remained cold for the duration of our stay even after reporting it on arrival, not all TV channels displayed are availble, thats it, breakfast went smooth, staff very helpfull and nicely presented, breakfast assortment/choice excellent, bar and resturaunt staff friendle and well presented, could not wish for more, pool, gym, and spa area great, parking on site was a bonus too, will definatley return to this hotel, thankyou The Connaught Hotel.

Stayed for 2 nights in a suite (Tulip). Pros Good location close to the centre of town. Decent size room. Comfortable bed. Newly refurbished bathroom. Nice bar area with a good selection of beers and spirits. Steak in the restaurant was great! Lovely breakfast each morning (buffet). Nice pool area with sauna and steam room. Friendly and helpful staff throughout. Cons (and I'm being picky) Parking spaces are far too small (I'd advise strongly against bringing a medium sized or large car). Only one EV charging point - and charging was not complimentary despite the £8 a night parking fee. Lounge area in our suite was a bit small (and no sofa) Limited channels and apps on tv in room. Overall a great stay in a nice hotel. Would highly recommend.

my wife and I stayed here for a spa break a Xmas present from our children.Lovely clean room ,used spa lovely pool and sauna. had three course dinner ,food and service excellent,there was a wedding going on in another part of hotel,but did not affect stay. breakfast delicious, very good produce and excellent presentation.Ideally situated for town and beach, ideal for weekend break.

Amazing stay and spa included had a fab stay breakfast is sooo worth it. Most comfortable bed i have ever slept in amazing matters and pillows. Breakfast was served till 1030 with was very convenient.

Great location and staff were fantastic. Car park not huge so you could be unlucky which could be very inconvenient. Good facilities and rooms clean and comfortable. Ideal for Bournemouth International Centre and Pavillions.

Last minute booking and was very pleased with hotel, accommodation and overall atmosphere. Staff extremely helpful and courteous. Very good location. Excellent breakfast with a good choice of food and plenty of areas to relax in the evening.

A really good place to stay - location great for beach and conference centre ; Not quite a SPA hotel but close - nice pool ; friendly staff and great value . Cant really ask for much more and Gluten Free sausages too as well knowledgeable staff as to what was and was not GF

My wife and I plus two friends stayed at the Best Western Plus Hotel to celebrate our Golden Wedding day. As we were unable to travel abroad we decided to visit Bournemouth and stay at the Best Western, we were not disappointed. The hotel was satisfactory in every way, the staff were very helpful and polite. The restaurant food was exemplary and reasonably priced. We shall visit again.

Our executive double room (19) was spacious and clean if a little tired, but good service and friendly staff made up for this. The bathroom was clean and spacious though the shower water flow was poor. The water quickly came out hot, plus there were complimentary toiletries, robe and slippers. Our bathroom radiator being permanently on due to missing adjustments resulted in a hot bathroom that escaped into our room meaning we had to keep the bathroom door closed. The bed was comfortable though I personally didn't find the pillows met my needs - couldn't get the right comfort from one softish, one firmer, or both together and the duvet was slightly heavy for the warmish room. Room 19 is also near the kitchens so for those who like a sleep-in it might be difficult, but we were up early to breakfast before the rush. Absolutely loved the 18mtr swimming pool - wide enough to swim lengths and avoid other swimmers, plus a jacuzzi. We didn't have time to use the gym, but it looked good with a couple of each appropriate equipment. Location is brilliant, just a few minutes from the pier, seafront and promenades; likewise close to the town. We left our car in the hotel car park for most of our stay. Whilst there were a couple of negatives we really enjoyed our stay. The breakfasts were lovely and very civilised and the restaurant was amazing with friendly staff and awesome food! I recommend ordering a chocolate celebration cake - absolutely delicious!

The Executive room we had was very big extremely clean and all we needed for our stay. Only issue we did have was the use of a cleaning agent the hotel had used which did linger during our stay but this did not put us off in any way. As for the breakfast well worth the extra money. The Mrs loved the gin bar and the bar staff were very friendly

Stayed here recently (11/2021) having booked three rooms for a nearby graduation ceremony. Friendly welcome upon arrival, straightforward check-in and designated car park space assigned and ticket provided. All rooms were tidy, clean and well looked after. No complaints at all here. Bar area in the evening was good too, although they said they only had one type of wine and no Guinness, despite selling one can earlier and with a min-mart 5 mins walk away. Odd?! Dinner in the evening was nice too, tasty food, well presented, although generally overall impression of my party was that portions all too small and a 60 min wait for mains was far too long. Breakfast was buffet style, with quality and hot ingredients. Hotel even able to extend check out by 90mins f.o.c, as some of our guests were delayed in getting ready. Overall, a good experience, a well-run hotel, maybe a little too far from the Town Centre, and a steep hill to navigate, but would consider staying here again.

Room was cramped and not clean. mugs in the room weren't clean. Shower barely worked. Stayed in the lodge area of the hotel and there was litter on the floor of the hallway and holes in the walls. Breakfast was probably the worst I've ever had in a hotel. cold food, poor quality. my partner and i left minutes after we'd sat down and ate elsewhere. There's a premier inn round the corner. cheaper, far better quality and actually clean.

A highly recommended establishment. Everything was in top order and the quality of the evening buffet was just sublime. Breakfast was top notch too although my only criticism was no veggy sausages. Room is tastefully decorated with touches of a top quality hotel. I would only consider staying here when I visit Bournemouth again.

My daughter and myself had a lovely stay in Bournmouth at the Connaught Hotel. I would highly recommend staying here. Its close to the sea front and only a short walk to the shopping centre. A warm welcome, good food and lovely clean spacious rooms.

Generally a comfortable hotel, with a lovely spa, great choice of gins in the bar, reasonable restaurant. The buffet breakfast is better than average. My room was in the lodge which does not have air conditioning and is a bit tired in decor though the room size was good and everything worked, but beware the noisy central heating and thin walls if you are a light sleeper. I was disturbed by snorers next door.

We came to Bournemouth for just 1 night and stayed at the Connaught Hotel. There was parking but spaces were very tight. We had a warm welcome and the hotel entrance was bright and clean. Our room was very spacious with a big bed and it was spotlessly clean. I did feel disappointed though as this was part of a present for my boyfriend and the hotel didn't look quite as the photos did! There were no vegan/veggie options for breakfast so it was limited. It was fine for a night and location was good for the town.

Clean hotel within walking distance of the beach.Parking onsite £8/ day. Well equipped rooms , nice bar and social areas with classic decor. 18m pool , with jacuzzi , sauna & steam room were a key feature of choice. Restaurant served a good standard of food. All staff were friendly & helpful.

What a lovely place!!! Lovely big rooms and comfy beds, with a nice size bathroom too. All staff were friendly and helpful. The happy hour in the gin bar is a must, so much choice. I must mention Elkin who was really lovely and friendly and had a good sense of humour. Also Christina in the brasserie, what a lovely lady. She worked her little socks off and always had a smile on her face. We also took advantage of a couple of the beauty treatments and used the spa and pool. The lady in the spa was helpful and friendly too. There is so much choice at breakfast, you really won't be disappointed and the man on the hot food was friendly and helpful too. Honestly, can't say enough nice things about this hotel. Would definitely go back again.

A clean, comfortable and well appointed hotel. The food was very tasty, portions were generous and staff helpful and friendly. The spa was great. We enjoyed a really relaxed day in the small, but clean and modern spa. The spa staff went over and above to help find my Mum's lost earring... brilliant!

We stayed for 2 nights for a ‘gin lovers spa break' - we paid extra for a 2nd night as we would have struggled to fit everything in if we only stayed for one night. Our room was very comfortable and nice and quiet. The deal came with a G&T on arrival and a voucher to use in their gin bar. The gin bar had SO much choice and they offered a very reasonable happy hour. We also had a three course meal on one evening. The meal was excellent. Our G&T afternoon tea was delicious. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Service was very good. The leisure facilities were clean and the swimming pool is a good size. There was a good jacuzzi, a steam room and a sauna. The spa treatments were brilliant and, again, the staff very lovely. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. And a final shout out to all the staff, without exception they were all fantastic.

Excellent Hotel. I recently spent 4 nights here with a group of friends who all also very much appreciated the hotel. Good car parking, excellent location, very good evening restaurant, excellent clean rooms, a very nice swimming pool, sauna and steam room (didn't use the gym), I can only award this hotel a 5 out of 5 rating.

Reception busy, more staff needed,may be. Staff were very friendly, lovely restaurant,good food,good service. Swimming pool really nice. Rooms not four star though, lots of dark wood. And the room was on the small side. Also no USB charging points.

So clean and staff very attentive if you required their assistance. The room was cleaned daily and the breakfast was brilliant along with the staff there. Spa was also very clean and not to busy when we used it.

Stayed in the Orchid Suite, nice and clean room with plenty of facillities. Staff were all excellent and very helpful. Has a pool and spa, food is very good too. Being critical certain areas look a bit dated but it is nicely presented in terms of cleanliness.

The hotel has a lovely foyer and dining room, clean and inviting . The rooms unfortunately let it down . The room we had is quite small, king size bed and very little room to manoeuvre around . The shower is very dated, noisy and bangs with the pressure of water intimately , Annoying for our neighbours either side . The times and cubicle need a good bleach as mould areas in the usual places . The dark furniture doesn't help the look of the room , rather oppressive . The carpet and the corridors are quite tired looking and as other reviews suggest could do with some money being spent on it . I must say though , the staff have ALL been friendly and very professional and the food in the restaurant has been lovely.

Very nice place clean and tidy. Very friendly staff always greeted you. Large bathroom was a nice bonus. Ample storage and full size wardrobe. Safe was also in the room to use. Location was good. Car park a bit tight to park.

Booked a spa voucher 6 months ago and finally used it .the voucher I'd say was probably a bit pricey all considered. But enjoyed most things Sadly there was a function taking over the main brassiere room ,so we mainly used a small Lou fr bar and breakfast room for evening meal . My wife absolutely loved her two beauty treatments and the ball is probably the nicest we've used in hotels in Bournemouth. Evening meal Was very nice ,3 course meal could t fault it ,crispy beef very nice followed by a 10oz rump steak (£3supp) Afternoon tea the next day also very good ,staff great all Round ,reception area and bar area very well done also . The glareing down side to this hotel is the tired and dated decor in the rooms and corridors as soon as you go upstairs .we had a superior room so expected better …however the bed was very good

The hotel is clean and tidy and offers excellent service from its staff. Our room was spacious and clean and of a high standard, with a comfortable bed. Food served at the restaurant was excellent and would recommend booking a table and experiencing it. Breakfast was also excellent and a wide choice on offer to cater for all.

We arrived early but were allowed to use spa facilities until our room was ready. The staff were excellent in every department. I was sat outside in the courtyard and overheard the waitress taking the time to speak with a couple. She was clearly very busy but I thought this was very professional of her to get to know the guests. The spa facilities and treatments were five-star, highly recommend. I also loved the decor of the restaurant and gin bar, and would love to see this reflected in the rooms. My only 'complaint' was the toiletries provided. There was a 'hair wash and body wash' in one - ew! Please, use separate shampoo, conditioner and body wash bottles. This was the only thing that downgraded my experience. Breakfast was well organised and very tasty. Would certainly stay here again.

Great location but over two stays at this hotel it was clear that investment is needed to refresh the rooms. It was pretty filthy, especially the rooms. We stayed in the Lily “suite” which is a term that should not be used really. It's just a decent sized double room. The bathroom promised so much with a jacuzzi bath, but it was filthy. We attempted to use it only to find the bath filled up with limescale when you put the jets in. Totally gross! Breakfast is great and the staff are lovely but for the price there are better places to stay in the same vicinity.

Expected a luxury stay the night before flying out on holiday but got the opposite. Car park has very few spaces so had to leave car in public car park overnight. Receptionist wouldn't let my partner go to the room with the bags until a credit card had been provided. The bed and pillows were so hard we got bad backs and the hotel was shoddy and run down in appearance. Worst of all, we were up for a flight at 5am but we're kept awake past midnight because of noise from the room below and guests in corridors. Rooms are not soundproofed like most hotels in this price bracket. Save yourself the money and stay in a holiday inn!

From the moment we checked in for our spa break, our experience was pleasurable and relaxing. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the spa facilities fabulous and welcoming. The room was very comfortable and we would definitely recommend this hotel.

The room was pleasant, clean and tidy, with all you would need for a stay. Shower/Bathroom, a Large comfortable bed, TV with all channels, coffee/tea if needed in the room, telephone to contact all services.

For the price paid, I felt the hotel was in extremely poor condition. The room was very dated, not cleaned to a high standard and the amenities very basic. Broken plug sockets, main door to room and bathroom door had chunks of wood missing. Soap dispensers dirty in the bathroom. Pillows were old. The list could go on. Thankfully we only stayed 1 night but slept terribly. The morning of checkout, housekeeping decided to let themselves in 40 mins before check out time and when the discovered that we clearly were not dressed and ready, they asked many time when we would be gone. Very disappointing when we decided to fork out extra for our visit to Bournemouth. Felt like a waste of money. The photos of the rooms perhaps resemble what they looked like 20 years ago with very good lighting.

The hotel was perfect. The rooms are clean an modern. Beds are very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning had a large variety to suit all needs. The pool was clean an warm, along with the steam room and sauna. 10 minute walk from all amenities. Perfect location

I booked three rooms for the August bank holiday weekend so my family could all be together for once before DD flies off to Uni. I paid almost £300 per room per night, and was happy to do so, expecting a luxury stay as advertised. Not so. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. That's all I can find to praise. The rooms are old, dark, in desperate need of a refurb. Old mismatched wooden furniture that smells musty. Not even a mini bar! Fine if you're expecting a shabby cheap old hotel, but NOT fine for £300 a night!!

Recently went for a three night stay. Had to book two rooms as had my 19 year old son with me. Reception and all other staff polite. Parking is limited but we were found a spot and it's free for guests. Drinks and service at the bar ( usual hotel prices ). Bar staff nice and friendly. Rooms are a bit dated ( lots of mahogany furniture) and quite small. Ours had a plant growing through the window ( room 21 ) please trim it lol. Pictures and lamps were dusty. Shower room was small. Apart from that it was ok. Not the best and have had much better for same price in London. Rest of the hotel was very well kept. Didn't use the spa so can't comment. Pool is very nice and it's warm. Could do with someone mopping the floor in the changing rooms occasionally. Breakfast was lovely and of a high standard with lots of choice and the staff were attentive and very polite. My only suggestion would be ( maybe some background music ) as people were talking under their breath as to not be heard by the table next door. We are out every night so can't comment on evening meals. Overall was a comfortable stay and would go again although I might search for similar in that area and do a comparison price check next time. No fridge or mini bar.

This hotel is great, although a little out-dated/old fashioned in some areas including bedrooms. Staff are friendly and professional. Breakfast was always good with a wide variety of options. The pool area was lovely - not too busy & had use of pool, sauna, steam room & jacuzzi from 7am - 8pm. We stayed in the main hotel, so cannot comment on the side lodge. However we did hear some people complaining re the lodge & asking to move so maybe it isn't as nice as main hotel. Location wise is great - local shop 1-2 minute away and beach is just a 5 minute walk to cliff lift or 10-15 min if walking the cliff. One main problem was that every time we turned the TV on it defaulted to babestation, we didn't have children with us but if we did this might have been an issue! We were in room 52, so not sure if this was just our room or every room was defaulted. We did let someone know so hopefully it can be fixed. It isn't as luxury or modern as other hotels, but it does the job for showering, changing, sleeping etc - you'll spend most of the time out on beach or in town! Also, the shower was temperamental and didn't work on 2 days just wouldn't turn on. We also reported this so I'm sure it'll be fixed before the next guests. Lift is very small and for someone who hates small spaces, I opted for stairs each time (grown some leg muscles haha!). We had balconies (3rd floor) which are small don't get me wrong but they do the job. View isn't great but it was lovely to have the balcony. Overall the hotel ticks all the boxes and does the job, despite being a little out-dated in some areas. Cannot fault the cleanliness or staff. Thanks again Connaught for a lovely week! :)

We are here now - booked a last minute 4 night break for my birthday. I can't praise the staff enough - they work extreme hard and are so friendly. Big shout out to Christina and Roberto who never stop smiling!! Yes, the room is a little tired and bathroom pretty small but the bed is huge and very comfortable and everywhere is spotlessly clean. We're in an executive room which also comes with a free reserved parking space - god send!!! Food great - super swimming pool. Thoroughly recommend!

I arrived with my 10 year old grandson just for an overnight stay. My grandsons first words were WOW as we pulled up outside. Checking in was easy and welcoming. The beds were amazing and we both slept very well. Bathroom was clean. I had booked a cream tea for us both. This was excellent and served beautifully by a charming gentleman who interacted with my grandson. Charming. Breakfast was amazing. We had ours outside in the morning sun. Again beautifully served by charming staff.

Arrived at the hotel at 6.30pm. The beds were like planks of wood. The mattress cover was for a double bed not single which was threadbear. The duvet cover was thrown over duvet not fastened as there were no fasteners. The shower was primitive but effective. The reception staff seemed hard and unengaging they spoke at you, not to you. When leaving the reception staff were dismissive and detached maybe it was the different culture, I don't know. The plus sides were the food was very good that we had paid for in the restaurant as we had only booked bed and breakfast. The breakfast was good, but some of the staff looked exhausted. We didn't try the swimming pool because of Covid but it did look inviting and we didn't try the spa. All in all I got the impression with the staff they didn't care what you said either way. That's either down to staff management or they are over worked. Rooms were also very dated. Has the potential to be much better than it currently is.

This is a top notch hotel. We were impressed with the quality and amazing facilities (Swimming Pool, Gym, Spa, Sauna). You pretty much have everything on your door step. The kids could have spent the whole day in the swimming pool. The staff were very pleasant, always smiling and very hospitable. Breakfast was great, enjoyed the 100 Gin Bar and you can't go wrong with the restaurant. Cleanliness was spot on and the rooms are well equipped and very quiet from our experience. The beach is a nice picturesque short walk away which we all loved. Will definitely stay again.

I booked a double room 2 nights for £510. When I got there i was Informed I was staying a the lodge next door, the rooms are nothing like as nice or value for money as the ones shown. The double was 2 singles pushed together, and the bathroom was tiny. When booking the it stated a double bed. If you are offered room 208 then I would refuse it. The Main Hotel itself is amazing, a lovely greeting from reception on arrival, the pool and steam room are first class, as was breakfast and the hotel restaurant. If I was to compare the Lodge part of this hotel to a Premier inn, the Premier inn would win on value for money and comfort, and a better bet.

We recently enjoyed a 5 night break, everything was excellent! Check in was quick and easy, with helpful reception staff. We had a superior double, very comfortable overlooking the outside dining area. Both size and decor were good and a comfortable huge bed. We stayed on a BB & EM basis, which we thought was excellent value. Breakfast had a wide choice on offer, cooked items were hot and plentiful, the dining room staff quick and efficient despite the room getting busy at key times. The Brasserie menu is good and the food delicious, the staff worked extremely hard and were without fail courteous and helpful, as were the bar staff. We enjoyed several visits to the spa, the pool is clean and a nice size, the jacuzzi hot and relaxing. Overall we felt welcomed and enjoyed our time there, we would definitely stay again.

Worst Western Connaught, not quite, because Hotel looks good it has a a good ambience for reception, lounge, dining room, Terrace and garden. Staff efficient and very helpful in every way and the breakfast is excellent with good choice, at this time fortunately, served for you at the hot bar. Dinner was a good choice although limited for some after 3 three nights perhaps and actually impressive in the standard of presentation for the starters and the sweets justifying 4 stars anywhere. Sadly 3 star public rooms 2 star elsewhere

We stayed in the Orchid Suite on the top floor, the room was a good size with a small balcony. The reception staff were excellent and check-in was swift and we made our way in the lift to our room in no more than 5 minutes. We stayed on a BB&EM basis. The breakfast choice and quality was excellent and the staff were amazing. The evening meal was equally as good again excellent choice and quality. The staff were very helpful, especially during these difficult times and Roberto and Steffi were excellent. The swimming pool was a good size and not overcrowded. It was a pleasurable 5 night break to celebrate our anniversary.

Its a lovely hotel and spa, staff super friendly and attentive. Bedrooms are a little dated but apart from that we had a lovely time. Car parking is very tight but we found a spot and stayed put. Restaurant food was very good, outstanding even.

Arrived at the hotel, looks fine from the outside. The staff were all lovely, friendly and quick to respond to any queries. The decor inside is very, very outdated for sure. Smells a little funky inside the hotel? The carpet and walls could defo use upgrading. It was not a pleasant experience having this awful smell whilst entering and leaving. Anyway, we got to our room, the room smelt so bad and I mean musty and old. I could not tell if there was mould around, we opened the windows to air out and left for a walk into the lovely town. When we got back it still smelt so bad I physically could not see my self sleeping there so we messaged reception via their whatsapp and within 10 min we had someone come to the room. The guy was not sure what the smell was and was adamant it was not the room (maybe they're used to it). But he was kind enough to show us another room in the lodge, now I have seen some bad reviews about the lodge but the room was more spacious and so was the bathroom, and it did not have the musty smell so we took it. The lodge has no aircon, they have table fans so we did get a little refund for this. We ordered breakfast to the room both days and there were good options and food tasted good. Looked at the pool area from the glass window, there were no sun loungers as shown in pics. It didn't look the most clean for me and had a few people in so avoided. Me and my partner spend our two days out and about so only came back to sleep really. Area is lovely, close to town lovely walk away and close to the beach.

The room was run down, the shower and toilet were not very clean and the room was like a sweat box! We only had one towel in the room so I asked reception for another one so we could have a shower - no one turned up. I rang reception as well to which nobody turned up again so we used the same towel. We then had no milk for a coffee so I asked reception for milk - of course, no one turned up so we went on a hunt for housekeeping in another room. The spa is crazy busy, we couldn't even swim! We moved to the edge of the pool because we just felt in the way but the dirty looks and uncomfortableness of just standing at the side made us get out. We then went in the jacuzzi which has a maximum of 6 - 6 people jumped in so we were side by side. We gave up and left. Overall for the price I was very disappointed, I would not stay again and I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Comfortable room in the Lodge. Excellent spa facilities…. made use of the pool, hot tub and massages which were very relaxing. Bar snacks in the Gin bar were excellent as were the choices of gin. Staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was more than adequate, with a good choice of pastries.

The room was clean the tea tray was poor a slither of a biscuit and not a very good selection of tea or coffee, the room was next to a lift and suffered noise all night I asked for a room change which they were able to do but the new room next door had similar noise levels at night realy unacceptable at £374 for two nights,I have stayed here previously twice before and enjoyed my stay but this is definitely my last visit.

Hotel is a little run down in areas but only cosmetic, don't let that put you off fantastic hotel all in all amazing staff when I next visit Bournemouth me and my partner both said this will be the hotel where we stay. Staff were friendly and couldn't help us enough with any question we have and the room was clean and had everything we need. If you're thinking of staying at the Connaught I hope I can convince you to stay as I'm sure you won't be disappointed made my mid week stay so much better. Breakfast is help yourself except for tea and coffee and toast which if asked for will be promptly delivered to your table and I don't think I came across a single staff member that wasn't enthusiastic to help, polite and friendly a real beautiful place to stay. And so close to the beach and everything we had planned to do with out time! Spa facilities were top standard. We like to visit different places and stay at different hotels, this is the first time me and the girlfriend have agreed we will be going back to the same hotel!

Very good hotel. Everything was clean and well presented. The breakfast was a very good quality and the spa area had a good size swimming pool. The hotel was very central to the town and sea front. We would go there again.

We stayed at the hotel for my brothers wedding it was amazing staff was very helpful nothing was any trouble swimming pool was lovely and warm. The spa treatment was lovely would definitely recommend it

We stayed for a weekend. Its a popular & busy hotel but the robust C-19 set-up keeps things moving with minimal delays. The sports & spa facilities are comprehensive are very clean. The beach is only a 5-minute walk away too. Our room on the top floor with a balcony was a good size & well appointed. The wetroom bathroom (no bath) was great, (huge) designed for a wheelchair user. The staff are fantastic. Attentive, polite & very helpful, nothing was any trouble. We ate in the restaurant both nights. The menu is very good, the food tasty, & the portions generous. They also have a 100-gin menu. We enjoyed our stay & will definitely return.

Service was excellent especially the breakfast team. Excellent leisure facilities, swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam rooms. Room in the lodge was small especially the bathroom. Service at reception was friendly and helpful.

We stayed for four nights, hotel was nice and clean, staff were friendly, buffet breakfast was lovely. Hotel restaurant service a little slow but the food was nice. Hotel very short walk to the beach and town so great location. Only issues we had was the WiFi didn't reach the room we were given (room 6) and when we arrived the spa was already fully booked for the 4 days we would be there so would definitely recommend to book treatments in advance. Other then that we were very happy with the hotel and would recommend.

We had a lovely stay and was sad to be leaving. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was a good size with chairs by the window and has tea, coffee and water. We never tried the swimming pool and sauna as were out during the day enjoying the heatwave and the beach. The beach is only less than five minutes away and a lovely walk down some steps or the zig zag slop. We had dinner one evening and it was delicious. We also had a drink or two each night at the gin bar trying a selection of their 100 gins.

Back after a 2 year gap, but it felt so welcoming when greeted by Julia who checked us in. Julia is a true credit to the Hotel and should be commended on her customer skills, such a talent. She made what was a standard check in through the perspex very easy. We had the cancelation price that included breakfast and parking, a good and reasonable rate. Parking is a big plus. The room itself was comfortable and clean as was the bathroom. Just a 12 minute walk down to the beach front going past the Bournemouth International Centre. The table service for breakfast worked well and again credit to the staff coping with the masks. See you again next year.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. We had a good spacious room with a balcony which came with a designated parking space. So it was really easy arriving and getting sorted so quickly to park. The staff are all doing their best under challenging times especially as recruitment is an issue in the restaurant and at breakfast which I totally accept but it may be something others could find a problem as service was slow and by inexperienced staff. The food at breakfast and at dinner was really excellent they obviously have a talented chef serving delicious hot food and good choices. The restaurant room is very nice as was the breakfast area and the ability to have breakfast in the garden in beautiful weather was a big plus. Thank you for a lovely comfortable stay. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great location, close to the town & beach! The service is great and the hotel staff are really friendly! You have to pay for parking which is usually included and not mentioned when booking but not the end of the world! The spa was great too. Rooms could be a little more modern!

We went to Bournemouth hoping to escape from London's noisy life and sleep and relax for 3 nights. Unfortunately, this was no possible. We were placed in room 14 on the 1st floor which was right next to the lift which would make noise every time it was in use. The room was also at the beginning of the corridor which meant people would constantly pass by, from 7am (when the breakfast started to be served) right until midnight. The room was quite small and the toilet was tiny (you could hardly move in the shower). We paid £230 per night and this did not even include breakfast. For that price, we would have expected to have at least a good night's sleep everyday and even a little fridge in the room. Although the location is good, this place is too overpriced for what it offers.

We stayed for 2 nights and the hotel was lovely and clean. The breakfast was lovely and the gin bar a real bonus. The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend Gin O'clock where selected guns are £4!. Would thoroughly recommend

We had a great break here. We had a balcony room in the main building and it was compact but well appointed, clean and comfortable. The shower was good too. The breakfasts are very good with a large selection on offer. There is table service for hot food and then you queue to get juices and cereals (presumably this is self service in non-covid times). Reception was very friendly and helpful - my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter had a room in the lodge but it had no air conditioning and got very stuffy and they were moved into the main hotel after one night and we were also allowed to stay in the car park after the normal departure time on our last day. The hotel is high up above central Bournemouth but you can be in the town centre or at the seafront in about 10 minutes. It is a steep climb back up though but it gets easier the more you do it! My only criticism of the hotel was the car park. As we booked directly it was free so that was good, however, using it is another issue! There are two car parks - the main one which never had any spaces and an overflow car park. The overflow has angled spaces as it is narrow as well as parking along the main wall of the building. Some of time is chained off with a padlock and you have to find the man to let you in or out. The spaces are badly marked as the paint has faded and this leads to people parking pretty much anywhere they can squeeze their cars in. We lost a lot of time everyday trying to exit the car park and on one occasion we had to try and turn in a non-existent gap as someone with a trailer had parked next to us virtually blocking the whole car park. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again however I would be looking to park elsewhere unless a better parking system was in place.

Second time staying at this hotel had a small break away staying at the Hilton though best western beat the Hilton hands down on service and going that extra mile. We often forget housekeeping - I was extremely impressed with their level of service and going that extra mile.

Arrived early , quick check in as room was ready early , room was lovely and airy and the mattress was too die for ,our daughter had paid for us to stay , the spa is so worth a treatment it was brilliant after our journey .. the beach is within easy access by the old victorian cable lift was a delight ... the beach itself is outstanding like being abroad ... the gin bar is also to be paid a visit ! And the restaurant is outstanding the food and staff brilliant

We stayed here for one night with a Buyagift voucher which included a 3 course meal. We were on the first floor, the room was small but clean and appeared to be recently decorated. It was perfectly adequate. The staff were warm and welcoming. The evening meal was tasty and plentiful. As the weather was amazing we were able to have breakfast in the garden and there was a great choice. We were lucky enough to get a parking space, but it was very tight. We had a pleasant stay.

We have just returned from a 2 day trip to Bournemouth. We stayed at the Best Western Plus Connaught Hotel & Spa, which we chose as a result of other customer reviews and we were not disappointed. The hotel was ideally located with the beach just a 2 min stroll down the road and then just a further 10 minute stroll along the promenade to the main square and Pierre. Also just a 15 minute walk through the lovely gardens to the main shops, cafe's & bars. Parking was 8.00 a day but this is nothing new to us and we had no trouble getting a space. The hotel was clean, modern, lovely decor, great gin bar and an excellent hotel pool & spa. Unfortunately the steam room and sauna was closed due to covid. Our room was a bit smaller than we are used too and the bathroom also, but had everything we needed, was cosy, clean, comfortable and perfectly adequate for our two nights. It was a standard double, next time we may upgrade to a slightly larger room. We ate both nights in the hotel restaurant, the hotel restaurant was busy and had a great atmosphere. The food was excellent on both nights, breakfast also had a good selection. The reception staff and restaurant staff were polite, friendly, attentive and professional. We had a brilliant stay at the hotel, we would definitely recommend to others and will stay again. Thank you for a perfect mini staycation.

Very disappointed with our stay. The hotel was not as depicted in the photos online; extremely dated decor, in a poor state of repair in a lot of places, rooms very small with worn bathrooms, did not feel clean. Restaurant, bar and spa area were okay and staff were friendly. Car parking is minimal and expensive. Overall an expensive stay for a sub standard hotel.

A little disappointment on arrival, not quite as palatial as expected in the photos. Car park always full and spaces very small, the Lodge has spaces just large enough for a Austin 7. Dingy corridors from 1980's lead us to our room. Some rooms have the joy of listening to the kitchen extraction system next to your window. Our room was dark, small and a well worn bathroom. Dinner was ok but nothing special and didn't match the web pics. Fixed evening menu is very repetitive.Usual breakfast madness as shortage of staff means extended waiting times. All in all a poor value break.

The overall hotel was fine. Room a bit cramped and would have liked a fridge in the room. Car parking tight however it is in a busy seaside town and we were grateful that we had parking. We had two evening meals, food was good, a very hot thai sauce on one night but edible. Excellent friendly staff. We would return. The hotel had a policy that you had to vacate the car park when you checked out and could not leave car there until a later time, perfectly reasonable considering new guests arriving require parking. The luggage store was compact and restricted to guests taking public transport, perfectly reasonable considering guest with cars could put there luggage in their car.

Stay was pleasant but didn't blow us away. Room was comfortable but cleanliness could have been improved - I opened the bedside drawer to find a used tissue and a pair of socks from the resident before… Breakfast was ok, they had gluten free toast and sausages so I was well catered for. All staff we met were really friendly. Dinner at the Brasserie was disappointing.

Spa is lovely & treatment wonderful! The staff here are exceptional - all of them. Always pleasant, friendly and helpful - across every area. Best Western should be proud. Gin bar and happy hour fantastic! Some areas a bit tired looking but still great place to stay. Rose Suite was lovely & family had room in the Lodge - clean, serviced and comfortable. COVID secure Hotel. Breakfast is tasty & service great - ate outside and inside and service didn't differ in either area. Had a reserved parking space with the Rose Suite which is a bonus. After a difficult year for the industry we didn't know what to expect. It felt almost normal and we had a wonderful weekend. Highly recommend and Thank you!

Had an amazing day at spa then we went up for meal ordered the chicken and fondant potato and diane sauce when it artived it was covered in almonds nothing on menu about nuts not a probelm for me but could have been for someone ordered pink gin for daughter when it arrived i asked if it was pink gin clearly not bar manager claimed it was

Excellent stay at the hotel, room was clean & food at the in the restaurant was excellent. The breakfast was also of a high standard, table service due to covid-19 restrictions. Roberto in the bar was the highlight making fantastic gin & tonics as well as expresso martini and nothing was too much trouble. The pool & jacuzzi was also very nice and the hotel is in easy reach of the beach and town. Overall a great stay cation.

To say this hotel is dreadful is a complete understatement! We have literally just walked out of this disgrace of a hotel with a full refund! We were so looking forward to staying here for a long weekend, when we pulled up we were apprehensive as outside was a bit tired looking, however we had paid just over £700 for 3 nights so we assumed the inside would be lovely, how wrong we were ! The paint work was very tatty, and chipped in the hallways, and the “Executive double room “ we booked was a disgrace. Dirty, tatty, dated and that's putting it mildly! We asked for a refund immediately, which to be fair they gave us without question. Do not touch this place with a barge poll !

Excellent hotel staff are friendly and the system they have in place works well as messaging through what's app they always answer you straight away. Breakfast is huge and plentiful. Eaten a couple of times in the restaurant in the evening Very good food and not over priced like some establishments. Drinks are fairly priced as well. You do have to book the pool but we never had an issue always got a slot. We are still here and lovin it I reckon it's the best in this area. Parking can be tight but everyone seems to get a space eventually. It's near the beach down the slope is the pier or zig zag path or steps further up which comes out next to a harvester. The staff here go above and beyond nothing vid to much trouble definitely will be back and staying here.

On the whole I found the hotel to be very good. The staff were friendly and very professional. The room and the hotel was very clean. I didn't use the spa. The bar areas were very comfortable and there is a range of nice places inside and out to sit with a drink and relax. My room was in the Lodge next door and the water pressure was poor giving a very pathetic shower. One wall was hot (water pipes?) so the room was too hot all the time. The food was very good except for the vegetarian main meals which were terribly bland. Even the curry was disappointing. And the risotto was so boring I could not finish it.

This is an excellent hotel to stay with high quality food served in the spacious restaurant and a gin bar in a comfy lounge. The rooms are comfortable and the hotel is a short walk to the sea an the town,

My daughter and I stayed as a joint birthday celebration and her pre-wedding treat. After the past year it was lovely to spend time together and for her to have a facial which she really enjoyed. We will probably come again!!

Friendly staff. All areas very clean. Nice towels and good amenities. Food was amazing. Breakfast very good, lots of options. Door card was a bit temperamental but staff changed it over easily. If room service was available it wasn't obvious but I also didn't enquire. Very happy and would recommend.

Hotel is situated in a quiet residential area only a 2 minute walk from Westcliff Promenade and 5 minute walk to the Westcliff zig-zag path which leads directly onto the beach or you could take the clifftop railway down. 10 minute walk to Bournemouth and 15 minutes to main shopping centre and gardens. My hotel room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. All of the staff in this hotel are very well trained - friendly and exceptionally obliging. Had dinner one evening in the Brassiere and the food was very good. Gin bar is great too! Would definitely stay here again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my latest visit - I have going there for eleven years, My room in the lodge was clean and well appointed. The staff were very good as always and many remembered me from previous visits.

We love this hotel, the management and staff look after you like a member of their family. The food is great quality and a varied choice. The Spa offers a variety of treatments and the pool is a real bonus. The rooms are clean and have the new addition of air-conditioning. No sea view but a short walk takes you to all the local amenities, town, beach, gardens and beautiful walks. You will not be disappointed.

A comfortable unpretentious hotel with outstanding staff. There is a good restaurant and indoor pool. The atmosphere is relaxed. Great location for walks on the prom, up the chines as well as into town. An abundance of eateries nearby. Lots of buses to all the favourite sights stop near the hotel.

This is the first time we have stayed since the pandemic began and we felt safe and very welcome. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, especially in the restaurant for breakfast and the housekeeping staff. We booked our pool/jacuzzi slots in advance and so that was relaxing, and breakfast with the buffet service (rather than self-service) worked really well even though the hotel was busy. We were able to park the car easily with the help of the porter. Overall it was just what we needed; a comfortable and clean room, easy walking to the seafront and town, good food and good service.

This hotel had great facilities to great customer services. Have to book massage in advance as it was fully booked and so we didn't get a chance. It has parking for £8 pn so that made it easier to take the car. The beach was literally a 2minute drive and there's also shops and restaurants nearby walking distance. Therefore, all in all a great place to be..thank you

From the moment I walked in I felt safe and welcome. Every member of the team was supportive over emails I'd sent previously to the day of my arrival. The reception team were polite and fair and funny. My room was immaculate and covid safe. In fact the entire hotel was covid safe. The spa is amazing and the massages were very professionally done. Thanks for looking after me everyone especially being on my own it was much appreciated. You can count on me to stay again sometime.

We have stayed at this hotel for over 20 years and it just gets better and better. The management and staff are very accommodating. The food is always excellent and the rooms very well presented. The hotel is only a short walk from the town, the gardens and the sea. We also love the leisure area. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

Had one night here for a meal and bit of a Christmas treat. Absolutely delightful hotel - lovely lounge areas. We sat by the fire downstairs which was delightful. We ate in the brasserie & the food was amazing. Breakfast also great - great value & perfectly cooked. We had the Orchid Suite. Stunning. Great room, great bathroom & lovely balcony. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Just arrived home after a lovely 2 night stay it this hotel. Wanted to stay longer but they are only opening a limited time at the moment due to COVID-19 . The staff here are super friendly and considering what is going on they manage to stay cheerful, friendly and cannot do enough for you. Everything that we asked for was dealt with super quickly and in a positive way. I used the spa during my stay and has a lovely massage. We used the Brasserie restaurant on both nights, the food was lovely, not fancy but tasty and reasonably priced, I definitely want a return trip.

Very nice stay at this hotel, Staff were great, food excellent & hotel facilities & spa/pool ticked all the boxes. Nice refreshing swim before breakfast which was lovely. Rooms were ok, comfy bed but a little of a shock coming from a King size to the hotels double bed!! but we survived one night!!

This hotel was amazing!! We stayed in one of the executive rooms which was enormous and had a beautiful balcony for us to sit out. The breakfast was yummy with lots of fresh local produce and there was lots of variety and choices. The spa was an added bonus and was so peaceful. The staff were all so helpful and especially the housekeepers. It was just a beautiful place to stay. We will definitely be going back

Due to COVID we had to cut short our stay but we were not disappointed with this place. Staff on arrival were friendly and explained everything that we could or could not do due during our stay. Our room was spacious with a lovely comfy bed and a large walk in shower. Breakfast was served in the restaurant and there was plenty to choose from. Leisure facilities were open but you has to book a time to use the pool due to social distancing etc. Treatments were still available if required. Overall good value for money.

Excellent choice of hotel for my solo break and the PERECT location, especially the beach walks, restaurants, shopping. Hotel swimming and spa were spot on and very clean. The staff were very friendly, helpful and nothing was a problem. A big thank you Connaught Hotel

Popped away for a short getaway before the second lockdown. We stayed in the lodge suite. Room was clean and tidy and of good standard. We ate in the restaurant, food was a Halloween menu and was excellent. We will be returning

Our stay was for 3 nights and we selected this particular hotel due to the fact that it offered a swimming pool and hot tub in this Covid period. It was definitely great move. Check in (and check out) was quick and needed minimal face to face contact. All staff were friendly and helpful..and were all masked up. The WhatsApp service that the hotel provided was EXCELLENT with requests being dealt with promptly and with a personal touch. (On an evening when I wasn't feeling up to eating much, I requested toast and butter and this was provided quickly, albeit without a knife). The hotel kindly fixed it that we have a fridge, even though I was told over booking.com that a fridge couldn't be provided. Fresh towels and toilet rolls could be left in bags outside the room if you don't require housekeeping. The room itself, although dated with the furnishings, was clean and comfortable. I booked a superior double room and there was ample space and a decent sized TV screen for us to watch when we wanted a relaxing evening. The bathroom was a no frills one (for a 4 star hotel) but it was clean. Our room was right by the lift/elevator but apart from a bit of morning noise, we had no complaints. Our room looked onto the terrace but as the weather was rainy and dull, we couldn't appreciate the terrace first hand. What we could appreciate was the great pool. It was deeper than my local leisure centre pool at 1.7m and if you're not a confident swimmer, the sudden slant of the pool's surface may take you by surprise. Confident swimmers will appreciate the depths. The hot tub was not as bubbly as I have experienced but it was a great size. With Covid rules, only 2 people were allowed at any one time. This makes for a personal hot tub session if you're with your partner! A one way system ensured more safety. Changing rooms were clean. We were kindly gifted with a complimentary glass of wine for my partner's birthday so we were able to sample the brasserie. Staff again were friendly and helpful. We would have definitely visited the brasserie if we had more time but it was comfortable and inviting. The only downside for me was having to pay for parking in the hotel car park when I was a guest at the hotel (£8 per night). My partner and I really enjoyed our stay, especially as the hotel was not far from the town centre and Bournemouth pier itself. A great choice for anyone visiting Bournemouth.

We got to the hotel on Thursday 29th October, when at reception lovely customer service was explained everything in detail, and all through our stay was fanstanic nothing was to much trouble for the hotel, from breakfast to evening meal, breakfast there was always loads offered plenty to eat, all through the hotel was hand sanitizers, we were away for our anniversary and on Saturday night they put a candle on the table my husband had ordered bottle of champagne it was just over welming at the end of the night they brought, a plate out with happy anniversary on in chocolate with a bit of choc brownie on just made our night, if there was a small thing I would say was the bed in our room was very uncomfortable and the room was small but apart from that a superb weekend and will be returning in the future. Thank you to all the staff for helping us.

I quite enjoyed my stay here. The hotel does well for its price bracket. Rooms were clean, and it was nice that you could chat to reception via whatsapp. Unfortunately there are some works currently going on next door, but it really didn't affect me at all. The hotel is in a decent location too. A short walk from pubs, restaurants, shops and the high street. The breakfast was good I thought, with the option to pick and choose what you want. And the staff at the restaurant were very friendly. I decided to use the Spa for a massage which was very professional. I was surprised at how relaxed and fresh I came out of that. Would recommend.

Six friends we had an excellent stay. Covid dealt with extremely well. Bar/restaurant Manager and his staff extremely friendly and professional. Restaurant food exceptional under current circumstances. Breakfast very good. Gin o'clock well attended. Rooms very clean and well managed with fresh towels etc. when requested. Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends especially during these strange times.

Couples stay over, great location for visiting city Centre or the beach, relaxed hotel, with pool Room okay, nothing special, I know realize 137 sq ft is not big to stay a few days as a base Staff are very engaging and nice, hotel needs abit of updating - kick of paint and cleaning the roof windows which hang with dust These are difficult Covid times - staff were very helpful and accommodating Breakfast was excellent, large choice and very well done - top service Thank you to all the staff, pleasant service, just a bit limited

Basically if you want overpay for a room then this hotel is definitely for you , had dinner in brasserie , overpriced , food Luke warm , hand cut chips are frozen chips , butter was frozen and had to sit on it to make soft , bread roll was red hot though , but that's an old trick of microwaving stale bread to make it appear fresh , wines average and overpriced , brasserie tables no tablecloths , how easy is it to make somewhere look nice ! staff are nice though . In a nutshell a typical English hotel with no atmosphere and everything seriously overpriced , doesn't deserve custom and I will never return, you can get better rooms and food ( not frozen pre packed heated in a microwave ) in plenty of places , Best Western , nothing best about this one I'm afraid

Spent a lovely few days at the Connaught Lodge. The room was good value, the staff were excellent and we felt very safe as the Hotel really has got a handle on Covid precautions and distancing. In particular there method of contact whilst you are checked in is by using What's App, no need to visit reception for anything, just send a message, the system is brilliant quick communication for everything from booking a table for dinner to booking a swimming session. A special mention to all of the waiting and Bar staff who went out of there way to make the experience enjoyable. We love this hotel, very comfortable, very clean and the staff are brillaint. This hotel have done alot to ensure Covid safety, plenty of hand sanitisers everywhere, social distanced tables in bars and restaurants and every morning we got a message on whatsapp to reply back to them if we needed anything for the room, tea, coffee, towels etc and they would leave them outside our door in a bag. This hotel have made covid restrictions easy to navigate and still keep their guest safe. I recommend this hotel.

One night stay here with a friend, we booked a twin room, the two beds were extremely close together, but this wasn't a problem for us. Room was nice, clean and spacious. We ate dinner in the restaurant, amazing food and service! The staff were lovely and hardworking a real credit to the hotel. Breakfast in the morning was okay however obviously cooked and then re-heated which was a shame. Overall a lovely stay and close to Central Bournemouth. Yes I would stay again.

My wife and I had a balcony overlooking the courtyard and we were able to use it. The bedroom was a reasonable size but there was no fridge (although we did not need it). The food in the restaurant was excellent, as were the breakfasts. The staff were extremely helpful, thoughtful and attentive-a credit to the hotel. The position of the hotel is convenient for walks along the cliffs and it is easy to walk into town, although there is a climb back! If I were in Bournemouth again, I would definitely stay at this hotel. We did have a problem with turning on the TV but a staff member came to fix this within 30 minutes.

I booked here for 2 nights as it was close to the beach and town. A short walk to both. On arrival we couldn't get in to the car park, so we ended up parking in a public car park.. not ideal as it said there was parking on site. The reception looked very smart but we were directed to the Lodge next door. This looked ok on the outside but is a bit tatty inside. The lift is the smallest I have ever seen. Only just enough room for 2 people and a couple of bags.. There was a strange smell in the corridors, I'm not sure what it was. THE ROOM - Our room was ok for the price. The 2 single beds I had requested were pushed up together, not ideal as I was travelling with a friend, not a partner. Not a lot of room to seperate them either. One of the beds was so close to the bathroom I could hear everything :-( Very little tea and coffee in the room, 2 milks for 2 people.. a bit mean, I thought! No lock on the bathroom door which might be a problem for some.. we managed though. The toilet did not flush very well.. to get rid of toilet paper you needed to flush 7/ 8 times. The shower was very poor.. absolutely no pressure at all, just a dribble! BREAKFAST - There seemed to be a good selection of food on offer. I ordered fresh fruit and yoghurt, a small cooked breakfast and toast. I had been eating the fruit for about 5 minutes when the waitress turned up with my cooked breakfast! She stood there just waiting for me to move my bowl with the fruit in, which I did in the end and she placed the plate in front of me!!! So I held the bowl and finished my fruit while the cooked breakfast got cold! I have stayed in many many establishments over the years and have never had my cooked breakfast served until the other course has been cleared. The breakfast itself was obviously pre-cooked and kept warm as it was dry and not very nice. The toast was lovely chunky bread so I was happy with that. Overall not worth the £14.50 if you didn't get it included with your room. The area around the hotel is not the best. A lot of homeless people begging. We saw some sitting on a wall eating what looked like leftover breakfast out of Chinese takeaway containers.. maybe one of the many hotels/ b&b's are helping them. The pool was lovely though, we made good use of that. I liked the Whatsapp messaging. Very quick response. Service in the restaurant was very slow but the food was ok. Ended up staying an extra night because it was convenient. Wouldn't stay again though

We stayed in a classic double room for 4 nights at The Connaught. In terms of location, we were close to the seafront (5-10 minute walk to the beach) and reasonable walking distance to the town, too. The free parking was a bonus. From the photos, we were expecting a more luxurious stay at a modern spa hotel. While the hotel bared some resemblance in terms of decor, the quality was much more run down in reality. The wallpaper and furnishings in the hallways of the hotel were scuffed, the bedroom was cold and dark and was in need of a good deep clean. The essentials (bedding, towels, shower) were cleaned to a good enough standard but there was a lot of dust by the sides of the bed, on skirting boards and under the extractor fan in the bathroom. We did spot a dried blood stain under one of the pillowcases. We didn't go to the restaurant but did visit the gin bar which was lovely - the drinks were reasonably priced as well. While the spa was closed we did visit the pool and jacuzzi which was nice. Breakfast at the hotel was cheap but you get what you pay for in terms of quality. The service wasn't great as we waited 20mins to sit down. All in all, the hotel was ok but I would say it is misleading in terms of advertisement. We paid £400 so not too disappointed by the value. However, had we stayed the week before it would have been £700 and had we had paid that, I'd feel a lot more frustrated.

Had the best afternoon tea this lunch time. Everywhere felt covid safe. I had the gluten free which without doubt was the best I have ever had. The regular one my friend had looked equally as good. Both with fresh from the oven scones. The staff were friendly and efficient. In these difficult times it was a lovely treat. Thank you all.. Would highly recommend

Nice clean hotel excellent food and good service. Nice pool and jacuzzi. Wish we had booked for a massage in the Spa as it was very busy and we couldn't get an appointment. Beach and the town are only a 5 minute walk away. Good location

A very good experience. The hotel is comfortable, very clean and is situated well for Bournemouth town centre and the beach. COVID measures were in place and adhered to. The restaurant was good with a good selection of delicious meals. The only minus was the tight parking bays.

This hotel is in a good location, especially for the beach. We booked a room with a balcony on the top floor.The room itself was quite small,but furnished nicely.The balcony was small. The only issue was that one of the floor tiles was loose. We used the hotel bar the sat outside which was pleasant. The hotel pool was good situated on the ground floor. There are lots of places to eat within 10 minutes walk. Hotel car park is small, but we managed to get a space.

Great rooms, friendly and efficient staff. Our room was great and very clean. The hotel location is perfect both close the beach and town centre. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice. Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

I had a lovely room in Connaught Lodge, which is quieter but right next to the main hotel and all its facilities. Food was excellent as always, Staff polite and helpful and working hard at Covid19 prevention measures. Other guests were patchy in this respect with some not seeming to be bothered at all.

Location fine, 10 min to town. Did a good job with Covid precautions. Over all hotel clean and nice bar area. Breakfast was very good. Lot choice and staff worked hard in service. Room was ok a bit tight in some areas. Parking can be tight so a tip - if to book in at 3pm get there 2:15pm to make sure get a space. So all good in most part apart from the en-suite. Was very small ( can stand in middle with hands on hip and both elbows touch walls). My wife had a few bruises due to lack of space. That was the main let down but if can get better room may be ok. Well done to all the staff there.

My Partner and I booked for a two night stay bed and breakfast stay on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th September. The hotel is lovely and the staff absolutely excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Located a 10 minute walk from the beautiful Bournemouth beaches this is an ideal base to explore the coastline. Our room was clean and adequate with a lovely balcony enjoying the sun from early morning until early evening. All the room facilities were modern and clean with a walk in shower (no bath). The bed was large and comfortable and there was good access to the room from either the lift or stairs. There is an excellent choice of breakfasts and the portions were ample to set you up for the day. We tried the full English and porridge and both were delicious. The service throughout the hotel was first class, particularly from the head barman. I wish we had remembered his name as he deserves particular praise, but we were enjoying the gin happy hour (between 5pm and 6pm) which is a wonderful offer of just £4 for a gin and mixer with a huge selection of gins to choose from. We also sampled the afternoon tea which was substantial and really tasty. Now for the small areas that stops the hotel getting a top drawer 5 star. Firstly our room, number 56, was located right next to a large metal ventilator pipe on the outside wall. Unfortunately this meant we had to listen to a constant rumbling through the night like a thunder storm or lorry outside. I think this would only be a problem in room 56 on the third floor so I'd probably avoid it. Secondly, I think that the hotel is suffering more than most from the social distancing regulations. On entry the door is split in two showing "check in" and "entry" however the "entry" lane is also the "exit" lane from the other direction, so far from ideal. Fortunately we came down for breakfast at around 8am on both mornings and were seated quickly. However on leaving the dining room the queues entering wear too long and far too congested, on Monday they headed out into the main foyer which as I've already explained is narrow. Someone from the hotel should have been marshaling the queue or even directing patrons to another part of the hotel. I'm sad to say that under the current climate this was unnacceptable. That said, in every other way the hotel was wonderful, and we had a lovely stay, with great food and excellent service. I would only suggest that management get a grip of the peak time breakfast queue and then we would strongly recommend the Connaught and would definitely stay again.

We have been coming here once or twice annually fir some 10 or more years. We have seen the hotel change over time and always have a stay to remember. Attentive staff and comfortable, clean rooms and covid secure. We will be back and continue to enjoy their great hospitality.

During our long weekend in Bournemouth we stayed at this lovely hotel, in the lodge side. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the afternoon tea was lovely and the service was superb. Thank you for making our holiday lovely, we will see you again.

we stayed here for 2 nights to make the most of the late September sunshine by the sea. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the front, nice bar and restaurant area and good food. Rooms and corridors could do with a little updating, but we had a great stay and everywhere was very clean, would definitely stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were most helpful and friendly and loved the gin deal. We eat in the Brasserie which was excellent and would definitely stay and eat there again. Plenty of parking spaces and walkable to sea. The parks are beautiful and well worth a visit and all within walking distance.

Now let me explain a little about the background of my review, the hotel is full of potential everywhere (gym, spa, restaurant, bar) but unfortunately I was unable to use any of these facilities, due to having a spinal fusion operation the following day, and had to isolate ahead of the procedure. Because we knew we were going to be confined to our room, we booked the best room with whirlpool/jacuzzi bath. This is one of their 4 suites in the hotel and the only one that has this feature. So I was a bit upsetting to find out after we had spent 30 minutes running the bath that the jets didn't work. We contacted reception and they very promptly sent someone up, he proceeded to press the same buttons we had and then left saying he would be back in 1 minute. 40 minutes later I called reception to find out what was going on and they said someone would be up shortly. 25 minutes later I decided to visit reception myself, apparently the only person who can deal with it (the duty manager) is working in the bar and he is very busy so he will be a while. So by this point I've been in my room nearly 2 hours, still can't use the jacuzzi bath and now I can't even use it as a normal bath because at some point that evening the duty manager will visit my room (needless to say, I complained there and then that this wasn't good enough). Luckily after about 15 minutes the duty manager called and said that they couldn't fix the bath, so they would refund 25% of the booking fee. Also as I had to leave the hotel very early to head to hospital, he even offered to open hot breakfast 10 minutes early for my partner to eat, I wasn't allowed unfortunately. The duty manager was extremely helpful, but every other part of my experience at the hotel was quite the major let down. And then there are all the small details listed below that makes the hotel seem quite rubbish given its price tag. Bath robes fraying Bath jets not working Bath jet caps broken and sharp Cracked tiles on wall around window Toilet didn't flush properly Worlds oldest table fan Plug sockets in useless places Extremely poor communication Tight parking spaces @ £8 per night This review should only be taken as my experience as there are ma y facilities in the hotel I was unable to use.

Relly impressed with the way the Hotel has taken onboard the mechanism for operating to reduce the risk of Covid. Easy checkin and check out process and spotlessly clean room and sual high standard of comfort in the room. Breakfast was now table service instead of the previous buffett. Cooked Breakfasts were hot and tasty. Slow service but very chilled as was in no rush. Just need to remember to order everything you want. Cant wait to return.

Believe the reviews, this is a great hotel. Easy check-in/out. Smart, functional, clean room. Friendly bar staff. Tip-top all over. Now though a word of warning if you are using the pool. The pool itself and its surroundings are fine. The pool is quite long and deep; perfect for a proper swim but beware the steps into it. The bottom step is not a step but a slope, not easy to see and very easy to slip and fall backwards causing injury. Otherwise a lovely sunny stay in Bournemouth and we will stay here again if visiting again.

A good hotel within a few minutes of the beach and town. Area could have been better but Bournemouth seems to have the same problems as many towns and cities in England. Staff good and welcoming - an asset to the hotel. Balcony room ok - a bit small, thin walls but didn't have any real problems with noise from other guests who probably realised they could be heard. Bathroom cramped - large bath but walk in shower would suit the space better. Not much of a view from balcony but nice to be able to open the patio door for air. No fridge in room but we knew that. Tea and coffee replaced on request and same with room service, towels etc which worked fins. Air con available if needed. Excellent breakfast apart from the long wait a couple of times - more staff needed. All your food seems to come at once which is a bit strange! Tables left uncleared because of staff working hard to serve others. Evening meal - decent choice, really well prepared and hot and tasty. Bit of a wait for food and forgot a side dish once but glad we chose half board. Felt very safe in hotel with most visitors following mask rules and sanitiser available. Only one lift for both staff and guests which wasn't great. Car park small but got parked ok but left car for rest of week - preferred to walk and use bus. Beach superb with long walks. Town had changed and not as good as it was. Overall good visit and would return some time. I would return to the hotel and did enjoy the stay thanks to the hard work of the staff.

We have stayed at The Connaught a number of times over the years but were unsure of how it was going to be due to Covid-19. The hotel answered all questions we asked and the staff & Management could not do any more to make us feel safe. All the staff wore masked & gloves and the room service was arranged so no contact was made between them and us during the stay. The Hotel was spotless in the rooms and public areas and we will have no concerns in booking another weekend break soon.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay. The beds were really comfortable, the staff were very helpful and room service was incredibly quick and efficient. Lovely bathroom and the upgrade is definitely worth the cost!! Whenever we go back to Bournemouth, we will definitely be going back to this hotel!!

Lovely hotel, well situated, friendly staff and good facilities. Breakfast was very good with excellent choices and service. The Gin bar is epic and well worth a visit. Parking can be difficult later in the evening.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights. The first nights sleep was reduced to about 30 minutes because of an electrical fault in the AC, also being placed next to a lift meant noise from passer-bys. Breakfast over priced @ £15 p/p. Location pretty good, 10/15 min walk to the pier. Quite pricey for what it is. Barman (forgot his name, mid-twenties) was brilliant.

Booked a quick two night break at The Connaught Hotel, booked a room via Booking.com, and we had a room in the Lodge, not main hotel, which was fine and right next door, no problem at all. If you don't book direct with Hotel you have to pay £8 a night parking, we had no problem parking as we arrived early but it did seem to get very full by evening, I understand there are a couple of local car parks to use. Room was fine, huge bathroom, and as a base the hotel is great, within an easy walk to the beach, 5 mins, or the town Centre 10-15 minus away. We didn't use any of the hotel facilities but a big mention to all the staff who were working really hard and in a new way under then Covid changes, one morning we queued for breakfast, only about ten minutes, and only because everyone turned up and once, I thought the staff working at breakfast did a great job, well done to them. Would I go back, yes, location is brilliant.

The hotel is in a great location! About 5 minute walk to the beach and 10/15 minute walk into town and restaurants. The hotel is nicely decorated and very modern. Parking is a nightmare! Wouldn't recommend bringing a new car. Cost £8 a day to park. On the last day the receptionist told us we couldn't park there any longer than 1pm, however could park on the road for FREE! Very annoying that we could have saved £40 and probably got safer parking. The spa was lovely! If you look in advance, you can get 20% off certain treatments on certain days! Our massage was amazing and the lady was very nice! We used the pool everyday in the evenings! Had to make bookings for the pool but was plenty of availability on the days and times we wanted. We had an issue one day where I went down to the pool about 15 minutes before my partner and when we got to the pool the receptionist was no where to be found! He waited at least 10 minutes but no one turned up. We were told on the day before not to just go through as they needed to check us in on the computer and give us towels! Very frustrating and the same thing happened when we went down on the last day to book a last minute swim - no staff anywhere. Wasted 20 minutes of our last day waiting to make a booking and had no apology from the main hotel reception when we spoke to them! Breakfast was nice! However, we attended Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in August but didn't seem to get a discount for the Gov scheme. The food was nice but is not organised very well. We ordered one plate when they first seated us but didn't realise that this was all you get! Then they never returned! We tried to get their attention to order some more food but always avoided us and were running around after bigger tables. £14.50 for one sausage, one bacon, one hash brown, some beans and scrambled eggs is crazy! We would have at least wanted a yogurt or some cereal as well or even just had the option to ask for more! The wall are very thin between rooms in the lodge. We could hear EVERYTHING that was going on in the room next to us! Not really what you expect from a 4 star! It wasn't bad during the day but when you're trying to go to sleep it's very annoying! Overal, it's a lovely hotel but like everywhere there is a few things that could be improved! We would stay there again!

We came to stay here as a couple and we have had a lovely time. We booked a suite and it is spacious. I do confess the doors to date the room and the bathroom is too small but otherwise the bed is very comfortable and clean and all you would hope it to be. It is nice to have a safe in the room and we have enjoyed the friendly staff. The hotel takes covid seriously and there is lots of provision for keeping people safe and well. The car park is small but we liked getting a reserved space with the suite and I would recommend getting parking sorted in advance. The hotel is near the town and easy to walk to however, be warned the walk is VERY hilly!! Food has been lovely, the trip has been relaxing and with a few small Improvements 5 stars was possible!

We stayed for seven nights in a balcony room and having air-con included was a godsend; we also enjoyed the option of sitting outside. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We enjoyed our breakfast every morning and any criticism regarding breakfast in previous reviews is, in our opinion, nitpicking. On the whole, a great hotel, in a great location, complimented by excellent staff. Would definitely stay again!

Hotel staff efficient friendly all adhering yo social distancing rules. Hotel clean. Bed very comfortable. My complaints would be bathroom (toilet) is jammed in to a small area. Room far too warm no air con (a fan would be great) Really great nights sleep, breakfast fab. Apart from things which can't be easily changed and are really personal taste I feel the hotel gets 4/5 in my view. It's close to the sea, easily accessible to the town definitely worth a stay and I think we will be back for another stay. Enjoyed it immensely.

We booked this hotel for a short break after our flights abroad were cancelled. Communications from the hotel before arriving were good and the position was close to the town and beach while quiet. Our room was fine, a good size and very clean. Covid requirements were clear and good throughout. This did have an impact on the spa facilities being unavailable but not anyone's fault. Staff were friendly and tried to meet any request. Breakfast was a good selection but hot options had been kept under warmers.

Stayed at this hotel 16th to 19th August 2020. All staff were friendly and hardworking. Booked a superior room and although great size, room was a little tired, especially the bathroom. Could definitely do with some updating and definitely need to get rid of shower curtain and install a more up to date shower. During these unprecedented times with Covid, staff were so nice but management need to improve decor overall. Only had breakfast on the day we left and again must mention how hard working the staff were, nothing too much trouble but the food was mediocre at best. On a last positive note, the Gin O'clock hour seem to be a big hit with all guests and for a first timer like myself, the gin menu was extensive and staff knowledgeable of what to try!

I booked this hotel as a trip for my partners 50th Birthday. The hotel itself despite the outside appearance was really lovely inside. The hotel was very clean and tidy. The room was great and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful we had a problem with the radiator being on full in the bathroom and while we went out the problem was fixed. Overall I would recommend this hotel however if I came back I would not book breakfast. The food was lukewarm and dry as if it had been sitting around for a while. We left hungry as a result of this which meant we had to eat elsewhere.

Very central Hotel close to beach etc. Reception very modern and tidy. Cleaniness not very good - thick dust on top of wardrobe and top of picture frames and found an old plastic knife under bed! Breakfast very good

Stayed for 2 night break. Arrived late evening and had problems with the room key. Tried reception but there was noone around, when we did find a member of staff they were very unhelpful and no customer service. The room was ok, bit tired. We thought we had breakfast included, but we didnt 12.50 for breakfast was bit steep considering it wasnt very warm or very nice. We used the spa facilities which were lovely but found the chloerine far to strong and burnt our skin. The prices at the bar are quite steep. The hotel has so much potential and is in walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. A bit of tlc, customer service and more reasonably priced would defo make the hotel a better place.

Stayed for a short break with the kids. Main points. Lodge suite. 1. Really shouldn't be rated 4*. Dust in the bathroom and dated decor with fittings hanging off the shower. 2. Most staff miserable and not welcoming at the reception. 3. Sofa bed in the room was terrible and although it said it should only be for kids our 7 year old couldn't sleep as the springs were so uncomfortable. Had to ask for an extra duvet for her to sleep on. Also the pillows were awful, cheap and uncomfortable. 4. Staff were surprised at us turning up for breakfast at 7 & definitely not 4* service. Understand that Covid has changed how things are done but really badly organised. 5. Location, although close to the beach it's not an area I would choose to stay again and definitely not this hotel, lots of unsavoury characters and didn't feel safe in the evening. We are not picky by any means but paying nearly £200 a night you expect basic things from a 4* hotel. I would stay in the premier like we have done previously.

This was a genuinely bad experience. The rooms were dusty, old and did not match the price of more than 100 pounds per night. It is not a 4 star hotel. We had to wait in the heat for 40 minutes to get our room, and when we did it was old, dusty and had a certain musk I would like to forget.

Two night stay at the single room. Comfortable as it can get in a small room. Pleased with a desk as I was able to do some work. It's a nice comfortable hotel at a really great location. Only downside was breakfast. Super old fashioned breakfast and not very nice. It came with my room deal, but I would certainly not pay extra for it.

We and three other couples stayed at The Connaught for a weekend. We were celebrating 3 birthdays and 20 years of friendship. The hotel staff were at all times extremely considerate and helpful, very polite and friendly. Three of our rooms were standard, they varied a little in size and decor, all were very clean and comfortable. The Superior room had a larger bed, a small balcony and a little more space. The only thing missing as far as we were concerened was a fridge! But when we requested an ice bucket for our celebratory bottle of champagne we were given one straight away. We chose the bed breakfast and evening meal package. The food was excellent and if we decided to choose from the A la carte menu we were only charged the very small difference. I would definately stay at The Connaught again and would recommend it.

Just like to say what a lovely 3 days we had at this lovely hotel. Just can't thank the the staff they were so good. Any thing they could do for you was no trouble. From Maria the manager to the bar staff the lady in the spa and all that service for breakfast just like to say thank you and I would recommend this hotel to anybody. And the food in the restaurant in the evening was absolutely lovely that happy hour on the gin bar what a great idea

Stayed at the Connaught Hotel for a few days. The room (9) that I had was  nice and spacious and had a nice balcony. The room had a nespresso machine and a Kettle. I went down for breakfast on the Saturday and the service was awful. After that I only went down to breakfast on the day that I left and the service was much better. All the staff were friendly and helpful.  When I say that I am of course including all the boys and girls that we do not see without whom the Hotel would not run so smoothly. Particular mention should be made for the Maitre D Hercule, message to Management look after him he is good. I mainly ate in the bar and the food was delicious Part  of the Hotels Covid procedures is that they service the room after 3 days of your stay. Also they do not have China cups they have cardboard reusable ones. I read this and brought my own china Cup from home I will defiantly be back at the Connaught Hotel again. .

Only stayed a night in a single room that was booked pretty last minute and was a fair price compared to what other places were charging. Key observations: - room was larger than I was expecting with a good size en suite shower room. To be honest I think some hotels would have sold it as a “compact double” or similar - breakfast is currently table service and I had it outside. Pretty good overall although it'd be useful to have bigger glasses for drinks (especially water) - I was able to store my bike inside a secure area - due to interpretation of Covid rules, the hotel can't store bags pre or post check in. I don't think this is listed on their website and is different to how other places have implemented rules. The receptionist did let me know when my room was ready and I checked in about 80 minutes early - the room was very very warm. A fan was provided

Stayed at the connaught for 4 nights, excellent hotel all the staff work extremely hard, the chief barman sorry did not get his name did an excellent job very cheerful also very helpful and polite in serving the breakfast the next morning. Breakfast was very good also the steak in the brasserie was very nice just missing a few little extras like mushrooms and onion rings it was little plain with just tomatoes on the side. Only one very small issue was the parking this is not great very tight spaces and quite often if go out for the day cannot always park when you return, it was free during our stay but heard that you normally have to pay 8 pounds per day which is ridiculous as the hotel is quite expensive so the parking should definitely be included.

I stayed at the Connaught hotel for the 3rd time , and went with my friends Mr and Mrs Shinde and their two children who were 12 and 8 years old. We had a wonderful time and and the rooms were exceptionally comfortable and had all the amenities. We stayed at the end of July, however there was no air conditioning in the rooms , so the room at times was a bit hot. For breakfast however there was a queueing system and unfortunately no one to greet people when queuing. The food in the restaurant was excellent and we celebrated the younger child's 8th birthday there, the fish and chips is excellent. Once again i re-iterate the whole experience was wondeful, except for perhaps the breakfast, and it would appear due to the current pandemic, that there was at times a shortage of staff on hand to serve it. The reception staff were amazing and it was a beautiful 5 night stay . Overall it was a great experience and the hotel is only 5 minutes walk to the seafront. Staff were exceptionally helpful. Should you need any assistance please ask for Maria Ruiz who has been working at the hotel for 22 years and is always on hand should anything untoward occur. A thoroughly invigorating, wonderful experience.

I would rate the hotel 3*s. The pool and massage/ spa were great and my favourite aspects of the hotel. Thought the bar was a bit expensive for what it was, but the Marston's smooth was good. We didn't get to try out the food and due to the pandemic cannot store luggage at check out. The manager on duty, was attentive and listened to our concerns. Would recommend for short stays but for longer stays may be worth investing in a slightly better hotel. Also was clean which is the main thing and great location wise.

Considering that the hotel had only just opened following lockdown, everything was up to speed and working well. The systems they had in place were efficient and provided a good standard of service. There was a limited menu in the restaurant but what there was was of good quality, properly cooked and well presented. Room service was excellent considering the requirement for social distancing.

We stayed here for 1 night while visiting Bournemouth/Durdle Door and would not hesitate to return. It was our first trip since the pandemic and the entire experience went smoothly. The check in process was straightforward and the receptionist was friendly. Parking was convenient. Our room had a lovely balcony and the hotel even treated us to two complementary glasses of wine as it was my fiancé's birthday. We did not eat in the brasserie as we already had dinner plans, but we had a drink there and you could see the staff were ensuring tables and surroundings were disinfected regularly. Staff also wore masks and gloves while providing table service. The room was comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was very nice, we had room service as it is temporarily free of charge. I would be more inclined to pay for room service from now on, as we preferred enjoying our breakfast in bed. The hotel kindly called us when they realised we had left a belonging in the room and even offered to post it back to us. This was much appreciated, as some hotels wouldn't bother making contact. If you are thinking of going away for a night and are feeling reluctant because of covid, I would encourage you to stay at the Best Western. They are taking all measures to ensure guests feel comfortable and reduce any risk.

We booked here as a last minute get away. It was myself and my daughter. The room was a really good price - booked through Booking.com but prices were pretty comparable from their own website. I was very impressed with the things in place to keep everyone Covid safe, barriers hand sanitiser etc. Room over looked the car park and the building site next door which started to make a noise at 6am! Beds were super comfy - only room let down was that we could hear the man urinating in the room next door! Just hope he couldn't hear us too !! I thought I had checked but the main reason for choosing this hotel was the pool, but it did not open until the day after we stayed, it was a real pity as looked lovely and really needed that float about. Car parking was plentiful, and the hotel was close to the beach and town. Breakfast was really nice, all off the menu now due to social distancing, it was really nice and food hot and fresh - would have been nice to have a vegetarian option to the cooked breakfast. All in all, was very nice. Would not hesitate to return.

Visited just after the hotel opened after Covid lockdown. Could not fault the cleanliness of the hotel and safety measures put in place. We were asked if we wanted our room serviced and when declined had fresh towels and tea and coffee left outside our room. Breakfast lovely and luckily we were able to sit outside due to the lovely weather. 10 minute walk to the beach and shops. Sadly the spa was not opened but we will definitely return to try that out.

Booked a room before the Pandemic the hotel then rang and cancelled room due to this and said u can have a refund or you can book anytime within a year. ( we chose to do later date) Rang to rebook for them to say there is an additional change of £70 and was not willing to do anything for us we used the hotel before but this has upset me how and the cheek of saying they need additional charge because of the season we booked in. I have a email saying I may book ANYTIME within the year fake promises Using Pandemic to up prices also.. tut tut

Excellent hotel and amenities, customer service second to none. Breakfast was brilliant with plenty of choice. Only ruined by the idiots in room 48 having a blazing argument until 5am keeping us awake all night.

Nice welcome & given access to room an hour earlier than check in time. Room & bathroom a bit cold but husband found radiators switched off so he sorted that, we unpacked and then headed out to make most of the bit of sunshine. We returned about 3 hours later... and it was still cold. Towel rail in bathroom obviously half full off air as with radiator. Phoned reception and a member of team came to look and offered extra heater, which was promptly delivered. This certainly made it more comfortable for a bath and getting ready for evening. The next morning we told reception that really the radiators needed bleeding. On our return late afternoon they were all sorted and everywhere was lovely and warm. Lovely comfy bed, great towels. Nice shower gel & moisturizer, plenty of it too. Great towels & a very powerful hairdryer. Lovely evening dinner, great breakfasts, very nice cosy bar area with fab gin bar and knowledgeable young barman. Nice staff all round. Great central location, walk into Bournemouth town. Parking on site available. I missed that it costs £8 per day and we were not told at check in, so that came as a bit of a surprise when checking out , but at least we got parked. I didn't use pool or spa but my friend swam and said pool very good, with towels provided. Would return for another weekend visit. Thank you Connaught.

Excellent hotel in good location. Very relaxed. Great served breakfast and evening meals. Super choice of gins at the bar. Large and comfortable rooms in the lodge. Friendly and helpful staff. Would stay there again

Good loction - very close to the sea front, excellent service, excellent food however the outside of the hotel is 'tired' and the rooms could do with some updating, luxury furnishings. The mattress we had was very poor and new bedding would make sense and the walls are thin meaning that you could hear next door quite clearly. Having said that, we will certainly consider returning one day.

Stayed here for 3 night break from 16th Feb, on arrival we were greeted by friendly efficient reception staff, we were in room 50 that had a nice little balcony, room was spotlessly clean with superking size bed, kettle tea and coffee, even bottled water on bedside table which was all replaced daily. The only downside was the size of the bathroom which was very small ours had a bath with an on the wall shower which being older with a bad back was difficult for me to get in and out of for a shower, but again this was kept spotless. The bar area was nice and the drinks not overly expensive. We ate in the restaurant 2 nights and the food was beautiful and priced really good for a hotel. The location is great too just a few minutes walk to the town and all the amenities. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely hotel.

Booked the Lily suite, which had its perks i.e a reserved parking space. The suite was clean and had a spa bath, which we had to get maintenance to explain how it works as there were no operating instructions in the room. The bath takes over 20 mins to fill and only some of the jets now work due to overflowing issues with the amount of water. Separate shower cubicle had a fixed head which meant you had to keep your knees bent whilst washing your hair. All staff in the hotel were very courteous and would action your requests immediately. Overall the Lily suite was clean but the room was very tired and needs updating.

We stayed for one night in the Lodge, which is adjacent to the main hotel. Our room was clean, comfortable with the biggest hotel bathroom I have ever seen!. Great shower. We dined in the Brasserie which was very nice, food was varied, well cooked, reasonably priced. Waiting staff were all very pleasant. Breakfast wasn't included in our stay and was £14.50 pp, which is a bit steep for a basic full english. The location is very central and ideal for for BIC and theatre. Would stay again.

We decided to book a night away as we were meeting friends and decided to book the Connaught as it was close by. I was annoyed to have to pay parking when you are staying in there hotel the parking should be included in the price. We arrived in reception to be told we were staying in the lodge .? Strange we booked the Connaught not the lodge next door. It was very small had a strange smell and should be classed as a single room not double. The breakfast the next morning was back in the Connaught next door it was ok to be fair the hot breakfast was nice apart from the sausages but that's just personal taste the staff were friendly apart from the man at reception who carried on his conversation while we were waiting to check out. I wouldn't use this hotel again and be careful when booking to make sure you don't get put in the lodge.

We experienced a great weekend at this Hotel. The staff were friendly and efficient and the Hotel is modern and well presented. The food was excellent and the selection at the bar was great. The Spa and Swimming pool area is also very nice.

I decided to book here over the Premier Inn, and wasn't disappointed. The hotel and rooms are nicely decorated and furnished, food and service was excellent. The swimming pool was clean and in good order. Highly recommended.

Overall lovely hotel. Looks nothing from the outside, but much nicer once inside, clean, tidy and welcoming, staff very helpful, food and drink prices were expensive, car parking cost extra - which is not really on. Only had breakfast, which was included in the package - priced at £15 on the table - ridiculous cost!!! very nice though. Hotel was a bit too hot in the room and at breakfast - almost stuffy. No tea & Biscuits in the room, but not so much of an issue, more of a surprise. Spa was fully booked, and seems to be very popular esp with non-residents, so maybe this could be addressed with extra provisions made for hotel guests?? Have stayed in better Guest Houses in Falmouth of half the cost, having said that would not hesitate on returning to this hotel!! Lovely location, a short distance to the BIC, Town centre, Gardens and the Pier, Beachfront is even closer. Hotel Reception staff went out of their way to ring us when we had left an item in the room. A little gesture that shows exceptional customer service and it has to be noted that the majority of staff are foreign and they do a bloody good job at hospitality.

My friends and I had an afternoon tea at the Connaught Hotel on a voucher deal. It's a nice looking hotel and has a nice feel about it. We met our friends in the bar which was comfortable and warm but the afternoon tea was served in what felt like a dining room which was a bit stark compared to the bar area. The service was ok but again lacked warmth. We asked for extra sandwiches & were prepared to pay for them but as they'd already been prepared we were given them for free which was nice. The tea consisted of 3 finger sandwiches, 2 scones (one fruit, one plain) with jam and a pre-packed clotted cream pot and 4 small cakes. It was all very tasty. All in all a nice enough tea but it was missing something.

in a Classic room - bathroom was a little small but for two nights it was adequate. Will remember to 'upgrade' next time. Comfy lounge, friendly staff and good food. Next time we will make a point of having a swim

Enjoyed afternoon tea. Only criticism I have is that the cream and jam for the scones were left inside original little containers they came in and not served in small petite dishes. Felt this let down the presentation. Apart from this could not fault it or the service we received.

From start to finish the entire stay was awful. The hotel looks nice on the website but when you get there it is like a bad joke. Very dated decor, it smells musty in the rooms. The hallways look like they haven't been painted for about 50 years. There is a nice spar swimming pool but didn't use it. I was rudely spoken too be a member of staff called Elkin or Elvis, in front of my wife. maybe he didn't understand English i do not believe he should be working there as his whole working attitude was disgraceful even towards the people he worked with, mentioned by my wife. I wanted to walk to the beach and shops but to get there you have to walk past homeless and drunk people loitering just outside on the street. It wasn't located in the best area in Bournemouth we went for a nice meal in the town centre and was speaking with a few people about our bad experience in the restaurant, and everyone said the location we were was the worst place to stay in Bournemouth, and it was a good idea to get a taxi back. We got back to the room and had one of the worst nights sleep i have ever had in a hotel. Could not wait to check out.Would not return. It is not worthy of the 4 star rating it is just located close to the beach. Terrible service from the staff and the decor is very tired and old. The restaurant looked okay but was ruined by the sarcastic foreign staff. Its not run like a traditional sea side hotel Bournemouth is going down hill FAST!!!!!!!

We held our company event and the staff were very attentive and even cleared the mess!!! Maria was amazing, the Staff are helpful and the hotel is beautifully decorated. I'll be going back for a spa day!!!

Amazing hotel and equally wonderful staff. I stayed at Royal Bath before in Bournemouth and have never left reviews but it was so awful. This one is the opposite and without a doubt one of the nicest I've stayed at. Staff and food are absolutely amazing. Well done!

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. The hotel felt cosy and yet elegant. Lovely lounge spaces (loved sitting by the fire in the area that felt like a library lounge), great breakfast, nice clean bathrooms, clean crisp bedding, good mattress, nice staff. The inside looks an awful lot nicer than the outside! I plan to stay here again and would highly recommend it.

The hotel itself is very clean and modern, with efficient pleasant staff. Sadly I felt that it let itself down by being behind the times with regards to ethics. It appeared that the hotel toiletries within the room were not cruelty free. There really is no reason in this day and age to promote products that are tested on animals. Also The breakfast could really do with a veggie/vegan option to bring itself into the modern world. Sadly these factors let it down. Otherwise I would happily recommend this hotel which is an a great location, with good parking facilities.

We visited this hotel for afternoon tea as it was my wife's Birthday. Lovely hotel and very comfortable Very nice selection included. Very friendly staff, Wendy really looked after us and a big thank you to her. recommend the afternoon tea.

Loved this hotel. Restaurant offered excellent choice of food and quality. Leisure facilities great. Massage was excellent. Lovely relaxing hotel 5 mins from beach. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Fires lit. Comfy sofas and executive double delivered. Will come again. Ps.If you like Chinese food...go to 1805 about 5 minutes walk away...amazing!!

A little treat for my other half and she absolutely loved it! The hotel upgraded us to their Tulip Suite which was amazing. The spa treatment was fantastic. Just what my other half needed. Shame we had to pay for parking and the wait to get inside the hotel at nights was a bit too long especially given the stormy weather but that's the only negatives. We would stay again.

The hotel in general was lovely. All the staff were friendly and attentive. I booked the room through Booking.com and upgraded from an executive double room to the Tulip Suite as a special surprise through Booking.com. in Total the 3 night break came to £476. Not that expensive but not cheap by any means. I was staggered that on check out to find that i was charged £8 a night to park my car in the hotel car park because i didn't book direct with the hotel and through Booking.com. To be honest i would have thought that the car parking would have been included in the £476 charged.

Good hotel perfectly located in Bournemouth. The food in the restaurant was lovely. We ate a local restaurant the following night for our anniversary which was lovely All the staff were very friendly. Would definately recommend and will definately return. Thankyou

Our Daughter's wedding was held at this lovely venue on Saturday. The rooms were lovely and clean, quiet and very comfortable. There is a wonderful warm family atmosphere and the hotel is laid out to be very inclusive if you are having a function. The cost of the wedding was really very reasonable and ALL the guests said it was the very best they had ever been to. I am so grateful to the wonderful staff who did incredibly long hours without a squeak of complaint. A truly special experience.

Parking good, easy check in, single room large enough, very clean, didn't like the style of furniture but I only used the room to sleep, wash and change and it all worked perfectly. Would stay here again

The hotel cannot be faulted in any way, except they were a bit strict about the parking and I had to pay to park as I did not book direct with them. The car park was empty but they said we had to take the car by 1pm. As we wanted to go out for a bit without worrying about parking. This was the only thing which was disappointing. This left a bit of a bad taste at the end. I would have understood if the car park was busy.

Entrance to the hotel, bar and spa are lovely but our room was not. To say it was an executive room was shocking! The room looked warn out and dated, with a pretty shabby bathroom. They also didn't do room service at 10.30pm so after getting back from a show we could only get sandwiches! I expect a lot better from a 4 star hotel. I would not stay here again, especially over £100 in January!

Stayed here fo three nights in Jan. Stayed in Connaught Lodge. The room 225 was excellent with a very nice roomy en suite bathroom. Complimentary water for first night only. Usual facilities including a teapot. However there is no fridge. Breakfast was the best - great service and extensive choice. Used the swimming pool and sauna. Top class facilities. Only downside was the imposition of an £8 a day parking charge if you booked through Booking.com. Also the Connaught Lodge car park has a chain across the entrance during the weekends making coming and going during the day a bit of a pain.

Another stay at this lovely hotel, staff and facilities excellent as always. Previously stayed here for our son and daughter in laws wedding, and this time came for a special birthday treat. Very happy to recommend.

We recently stayed at the Connaught Best Western Plus for a short break. Beautiful spacious rooms and great to relax in the spa following a nice walk along the beach. Very friendly team and great selection at breakfast. We would love to return to this hotel we were looked after and had a really relaxing break, thank you.

Thought we'd have a couple of nights in Bournemouth in between Christmas and New Year. Lovely stay here, very comfortable and the staff were exceptional, very friendly and welcoming. Easy to walk into town or to the sea within five minutes. We used the swimming pool on the first night to relax after our journey, lovely pool, excellent changing facilities. Really lovely stay. We were in the Lodge which is in a separate building. Very peaceful and quiet and our room overlooked the courtyard. Highly recommend.

The hotel is fine, and the staff attentive but the restaurant experience was very poor as our food was cold to warm at best and the vegetables rubbery and inedible. The experience ruined our celebration weekend.

Another great Xmas at The Connaught - our seventh so far. Simon, Elkin, Jay, Cristina, Candida, Jacamo (Dele Alli) and all the other staff were all superb as usual. The chef was amazing and all of his dishes were ‘stand out' and beautiful. The buffet was superb and extremely well presented. The rooms have been refurbed and much nicer; we have no complaints. I know the staff give up their Xmas because they want to and enjoy it and it's very much appreciated by us. It's got a real family feel about it and it's great to see people return year on year. The atmosphere is great and the Pacific Heights' disco hosted by DJ Jeremy is superb - the most participative DJ ever! The Connaught is easily the best hotel in Bournemouth and we shall continue to return. A thousand thanks to all of the team! You are doing everything right!

Wow, what can I say, what a wonderful hotel and what a wonderful Xmas experience. Room came complete with some beautiful touches such as oranges, chocolates and a touching card signed by all the staff. The food and service as others have said was top notch, and totally flawless in every respect. A brilliant disco with one of the most entertaining DJs I've seen for a long time. Back again for another amazing Christmas break at this beautifully refurbished hotel, it's like a home away from home. Amazing food , amazing staff who looked after my family and me fabulously. A special thank you has to go to Elkin who looked after us fantastically and the amazing pastry chef who made some amazing gluten free treats. The count down is on till we are back again I can't wait.

Well another xmas break was had our 12th time,,, what a lovely time we had too,, food exceptional as ever,, staff just great,, Elkin what can you say about him but thanks for a great time knows how to look after everyone,, and to all of the team there thanks again for making our xmas a great one. Rooms booked for next year already.

Nice hotel in a beautiful surrounding,room cleaned and good food at the restaurant.Amazing service at the spa!The only negative is the noise from the building under construction outside.We definitely stay again

My boyfriend and I stayed here from 30th November for 3 nights for my birthday. What we didn't realise until the day before we travelled down to Bournemouth, is that the Connaught lodge is basically an annex for the Connaught hotel. As we planned to use the spa a lot, we decided to call reception and explain that we are here for my birthday and want to upgrade to the main hotel.. the lady in a rude manner said "you booked through booking.com so you have to contact them". The man at booking.com seemed puzzled as to why we needed his assistance and then called the Connaught directly to ask exactly what we had already asked them to do and eventually it was sorted. At check in, the receptionist explained that the upgrade to the main hotel was £15 more a day but the rooms are half the size of the lodge ones but we upgrading because we wanted the facilities close by. And gosh it was a very small room, but to be fair the receptionist did warn us. Having said that, the pros outweighed the cons. Absolutely brilliant hotel, with tasty £4 gins on happy hour, wonderful breakfast and above all a fantastic spa! I did get a bit envious whilst reading other peoples reviews about their birthday cards and bottles of bubbly upon arrival etc; especially when I paid for an upgrade and got given a smaller room over looking a building site after stating on the phone that it was my birthday, but I shouldn't get special treatment. I want to say how brilliant the breakfast staff are, they work tirelessly throughout the breakfast shift. Also the bar staff seemed to genuinely care about their customers which is refreshing. Thank You for a wonderful stay
