    « Nice stay »

The room was excellent the neighborhood is very industrial. I guess in time this will be a renewed area of the city. Hotel is currently remodeling but does not interfere with guests. I was however very disappointed as I watched the maintenance man blow all of the sidewalk and gutter trash into and across the street instead of picking it up.

    « Ear plugs »

The hotel sits on a very busy street , will very limited parking spots. Most people have to park in the gas station lot and cut thru the fence. We had a large room with its own sitting area , with a sofa desk and mini frig. Bedrooms bed is nice and upgraded bath. Breakfast is in the basement. You do see homeless people on the way to hotel but not next to it. Its the city . Hotel has a lot of lights, we had no problem .

Worst place i have ever lived in. The area is not safe at all. The rooms are good but the area is not good . Homelesses sleep around the hotel. You can not even feel good when you park or when you go to your car.

« The worst hotel I ever stay »

    « Best? Let Alone"Worst"! »

I would simply say: "don't come!", but I think it's unfair. Why? This hotel is, in itself, a nice place (mainly their rooms, they are spacious and clean, though old). Bathrooms renovated. They serve a breakfast that's only ok (nothing special, I think, like others have said here). And... That's it! Location? Terrible! When you look in the map, it's not so, but it's a ugly side of the town (Boston have so many beatiful places!), relatively far from subway station (and dificult acess, as well). Lobby and corridors are depressively decorated, renovation in urgent need (so that the elevators had a strange rule: add 1 to the numbers in it in order to know your floor, except floor...!). Knowing that, you would say: "Well, if this hotel is so, probably the service will compensate...". No! They try their best to ignore you, even when we don't want it. But I left the worst to the final: Me and my wife had reserved a taxi in advance at the reception desk, knowing that they don't have a decent shuttle service (it's expensive, and with an schedule that didn't fit our early flight). After about half an hour, taxi came and instantly boarded other guests, with the complacency of the reception. When I questioned about, they "gently" asked for the shuttle driver to take us to the airport. This dishonest man (clearly concerted with others) delivered us to a bus point (which took another 20 minutes to go)! Of course we had to pay our 50 dollar bill to the driver (for his "kindness") plus the bus tariff, only to arrive at the airport like mad people just in time to our flight. Thanks for nothing, "Best" Western!

« Nice rooms but not a nice neighborhood »

We stayed for three nights at this hotel for a business trip. Rooms were very spacious and nice, the staff very friendly and helpful but the neighborhood was noicy industrial area and there were a lot of homeless people nearby hotel. We had to sleep with earplugs on.

    4
    « Construction »

it is under construction right now, but does not interfere with the quiet in the rooms or the cleanliness. Very friendly and accommodating, would highly recommend this hotel. Not far from the Children"s hospital. The shuttle is a great asset.

« Don't let the immediate location scare you! »

We made an online reservation here so we weren't completely sure about the location. It's near a hospital and a few methadone clinics so there are LOTS of homeless and addicts roaming around. BUT that just means you need to be careful. Besides that, the staff was wonderful and so accommodating. There were 4 of us and the first room they put us in had a King and one sofa bed and was way too cramped. We made a passing comment about it to the front desk and they immediately said we should not have been put in that kind of room and moved us to another room with 2 beds and a pullout sofa which was PERFECT! Good b-fast every morning, though would prefer more healthy offerings. Conveniently located - we were moving our son into college and could walk to his campus (Mass. Ave & Boylston area), plus just a few blocks away from shopping strip with Home Depot, Target and restaurants. Big plus that they are pet friendly b/c we brought our small dog, which they fawned over and kept happy with treats!

    « The "Best" Western »

This hotel has recently undergone remodeling and looks and feels absolutely comfortable to reside in. The rooms are suites with a very tasteful décor. Amenities are very adequate. The only drawback is that the TV is stationed so that it is in the bedroom. It would be better suited to facing the living room side of the suite or so that it could be reflected somehow on both sides. Great experience overall.

    3
« Would be great if elsewhere! »

Stayed here with 3 friends a few weeks ago. The room was pretty decently sized and roomy enough for four people - I think the couch folded out into a bed and the king size beds were roomy enough for two people each. The service around the place was pretty decent...from the front desk to the breakfast area. Everyone seemed pretty pleasant. Free parking is a BIG plus and something you rarely get at hotels in the city. The location is a bit of a mixed bag...while it's close to I-93 and all that, it's in a so-called "up and coming" "industrial district", a bit of a "no man's land" between the South End and Andrew Square. Do yourself a favor and look up "Methadone Mile" on YouTube...as that stretch of Mass. Ave is home to a hospital, several homeless shelters, and a couple methadone clinics. There WILL be opiate junkies roaming around the joint...they're not aggressive though. They'll usually go along their merry way if you reject their advances. If you're not used to such a neighborhood, this place probably isn't for you. The hotel does offer shuttles to both Back Bay (on the MBTA Orange Line) and Andrew (on the Red Line) stations, so it's certainly better to utilize those than to walk around there after dark. If I could take this place and plop it on say Tremont or Washington Streets in the South End, it'd be perfect. That said, it'd probably also be $100+ plus more a night than it was so...*shrugs*.

    « Sheer disappointment »

With much regret I have to say that our stay in the BW plus Boston was a disappointment for several reasons, only the most crucial can be presented here. In short, we like staying in BW hotels because almost always we get what we expect to and what we pay for, but this hotel does not stand up to the standards of BW. One thing cannot be changed, which is its location. Maybe this location is good for people attending conferences in one of the close by medical centers, especially if their stay in the hotel is paid by the conference organizers, but the hotel location is very unappealing to the tourist. It is not only what is revealed to the tourist eyes when looking around, which is a commercial (especially storage) and semi industrialized environment. The hotel surroundings are very noisy. If you like to wake up at 4am every morning to the noise of trucks, the hotel is for you. Otherwise go somewhere else. The management is aware of this problem and it provides pairs of earplugs even before you request them. The hotel is being renovated. Our room has been renovated already. The room is shiny and clean and looks very nice. The problem is that the renovation has left the room without a place to hang wet towels to dry and without curtains on the inner door. But a graver problem is the room layout. I have not seen its layout before the renovation, but currently a normal sized room is divided into three parts to make it a suite: an en suite bedroom and a ?living? room. The bedroom is already crammed with a king size bed, two night tables and a TV set. There is no room for additional furniture. In the living room there are a sofa, a desk and chair and a small fridge. Therefore you are forced to watch TV lying in bed. If you like watching TV seating you cannot do it. If you are a couple and you stay in Boston 4-5 days but you travel for a month and you have 3 suitcases, you have to crawl on the floor to open two of them. Another problem that makes me very sad is that the hotel is run mostly by young staff that is inexperienced and not sufficiently trained. This certainly does not refer to all members of the staff, but many of them should get more training before they are sent to answer problems the guests face and questions they may have. To mention only a sample: our room was not serviced properly for two days before we were forced to leave the maid a message, we did not have internet in the room for a whole day. Not only that the problem was not solved but we were told when complaining ?You should have?. I really do not want to cause harm to any of them because they are kind and friendly and they are trying to do their best, sometimes too arduously as when they grab our breakfast dishes when we still seat even without asking if we are done. Guidance and more training will solve such cases. In addition, for every problem we had to get down to the reception because nobody picked up the phone down there when we dialed from the room as instructed by the welcome book. On top of all that the hotel is hugely overpriced. True, it is Boston and the breakfast buffet is very good and the bed is comfortable, except that you have to be really tall to get on it, and the shower is good and the towels are BW standard, but I will not come back again to this hotel and I cannot recommend it.

    « New England trip »

The hotel staff was very friendly, location perfect for all of Boston sights, little disappointed in TV, only because it did not have FS1 channel for baseball playoffs. Was a little Leary of hotel @ night, lots of homeless people hanging out. Hotel was noisy from ambulances going to nearby hospital, but earplugs were supplied. Parking was available, but the area was sketchy.

    4
« A cruise and then time in Boston. »

We stayed at the at the Roundhouse Suites both before and after our cruise. The rooms were nice both times. The staff was very helpful. The breakfasts were great. It's too bad this hotel is located in such a unpleasant area.

    2
« Room Renovations have pushed prices to luxury level! »

For 4 years I have stayed here because my daughter has lived in the south end the the location is great....but now the hotel has undergone renovations to "upgrade the rooms" and they were great before the renovations and now the price per night is over the top. This last trip I paid over $300 per night for basically an average hotel with no amenities and terrible breakfast of triangle egg slices filled with american cheese and terrible, weak coffee. Too bad. When the price was lower, I could overlook the constant sirens, sketchy neighborhood, and skip-able breakfast. I would walk to the local gas station for coffee each morning. FOR THIS PRICE, NOT WORTH IT.

    3
« We loved the hotel itself, breakfast was wonderful, and the 5:30 cookies were a nice treat »

The room was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was very good with a lot of choices. The beverage bar and cookie treats in the lobby were very welcome. The staff was extremely helpful and answered all our questions. The shuttle drivers were very courteous and prompt, but it would have been nice to have this service run to the airport. The only downfall is the location of the hotel. It is in an industrial/medical zone so you hear sirens and large trucks rumbling by at all hours. We didn't spend too much time in the room, but it was hard to sleep through the noise.

    3
    « bad area »

the hotel itself is very good. It has been remodeled recently and the rooms are very nice. They include a nice breakfast. They include a shuttle service that's free. They have to because the area is terrible. They (front desk) told one of the people in our party it's safe to walk around the Hotel. Ya right that's why they have a security guard on duty 24-7. When we went to park our car in the back of the Hotel there were two drug addicts trying to break into one of the cars. Its a changing area and if you can wait five years it should be ok. Again the Hotel itself is nice.

    3
« Just and overnight stay, to be at Hospital at early AM. »

The only issue was the beds are too high for me. I am only 5' 3" and had a very hard time getting on the bed. A step stool would be helpful! Once on the bed the mattress was fine. A better arrangement to park my car, in the front of the building, while registering would be appreciated. The shuttle to hospital didn't start until 7:30am and we had to be at hospital before 6:00am.

    3
« Beautiful Rooms, Scary Area, Very Noisy »

This hotel was in the process of being completely refinished. It was lovely on the inside. The rooms were large, nicely decorated, clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast was good. The staff was very nice, but a little lacking in terms of information. The surrounding area was industrial, very run down, lots of homeless people hanging out, and a mecca of medical facilities. The ambulances and police sirens were very loud all night long. There were ear plugs provided at the bedside, but they can only do so much to block the sound. Public transportation to all the Boston points of interest was close by, however, we did not use it because we had a car.

    1
    « Noisy »

When you walk into your room and on the bedside table is a set of ear plugs and a notice acknowledging that there will be noises from machinery and ambulances throughout the day, you know you are not going to get a good night's sleep. So it turned out for me. I was woken at 3:30am by the deliveries at the waste tip next door. Not only did I only get 5 hours sleep but the wifi did not work in my room. Finally, this is a very dodgy part of town and taxis are reluctant to pick you up from here. Avoid, there are far better places to stay in Boston for the same money or less.

    5
« New England vacation: Kings from Ky »

Very nice accommodations. The staff was very friendly and eager to please their guests, very helpful in providing travel and sightseeing information. The rooms are very comfortable and they have an excellent complimentary breakfast. Thanks especially to Addie and William!

« Great property, helpful staff, but noisy »

Renovated rooms, free breakfast, free internet, free parking, helpful staff, and much lower priced than most Boston hotels. Sounds great. The problem is that noise from nearby streets, nearby hospital ambulances, and nearby industrial operations make it hard to sleep. Overall, I would probably pay more to get a better night's sleep.

    4
    « Wonderful shuttle service »

This is a bit far from the St. Andrew tube station, but the hotel shuttle brings you. Actually the shuttle bus driver is very kind to bring you to anywhere you want in the downtown. The room is quite big and comfortable. Breakfast was also good. The floor staffs were cheerful and friendly.

    4
« Better than some would suggest »

Gave this 4 stars for what it is. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was fine for a budget hotel (though price may not be that budget as Boston hotels are expensive) and they offer a shuttle to the T (subway stations). We have a renovated room which was nice (though the light fixtures were still dated). As other have said the area is not so great, but we budgeted this in and it cost $6-10 to get right in to the heart of Boston via Uber, which came in 2-5min upon request. The noise facing the road was a bit bad, provision of ear plugs shouldn't be necessary and instead they should have double pane windows.

    3
« The worst check in staff ever »

I arrived around 3:45pm. As I came in I was greeted by a very rude front desk agent. I told her I had reservations and she told me she did not see it on her computer and then her colleague went looking and found it I was very upset because she didn't make and effort to look for it. After I came down I asked her for her name she quickly removed her name tag and gave me a name o Alena. I continue to get some information about the shuttle then she quickly dismissed me. I never met a rude front desk agent ever in my life especially one who lies about her name. I then proceeded by asking the shuttle driver the front desk agents name and he told me Natasha. I was very upset and confused on why she would lie. But other then that experience the hotel room perfect the breakfast staff awesome the food wasn't that great but manageable. I will return I just hope that the front desk agent won't be there.

    3
« No tv in sitting area »

Hotel was great but not having a tv in the sitting area was a problem. Husband was not feeling well and needed to lay down in bedroom room. TV in that room but not in sitting room. Not a good situation.

    3
« So much good, yet............... »

Loved the people. Great Breakfast(More than most hotels). Pretty good room.Great shuttle to subway station or some local hospitals. TV was located in a bedroom instead of living area. YET...... It is in an industrial area. Garbage trucks making noise outside starting about 4am... Sirens for multiple hospitals and police all night long. Hotel did provide earplugs but that's not enough. It's unfortunate because otherwise I'd want to stay hear again. Also, the hotel directory in the room listing available services needs to be updated.

    2
    « beware »

the hotel itself is fine. our room was a suite and was quite nice. breakfast is the normal fare. staff were nice. it was nice that there was a shuttle to the metro. on the downside--the area was shady and felt unsafe to walk alone. the noise was atrocious (they do give you earplugs). the wifi worked sporadically (we are talking about 30 seconds at a time). it was difficult to get to Boston in spite of the shuttle as the shuttle does not run frequently

    3
« You get what you pay for.... »

This is a hotel which is basically OK but nothing more. Located in a rather shady area, industrial sites dominate the view from the window, it is a bit off from the centre. It is also quiet noisy in the morning, and when the wind is in the wrong direction you have Logan take-off flavouring the background. Communications are not good, fortunately the hotel offers a shuttle which runs back and forth to the nearest T-stations. But, it is reasonably priced, so if you don't mind it is basically OK!

    3
« Clean, "cheap" (relatively speaking), but... »

It's a nice place, and staff are good, especially the shuttle driver we had. It will seem expensive until you check out other places in the city. The neighborhood is noisy. Kids doing wheelies in front late at night, & congregation of homeless (I counted 20) across the street hanging out around midnight before heading to their shelter up the street. Didn't bother me, not dangerous, but some people are easily scared. Inedible oatmeal & eggs at otherwise "ok" breakfast. Clean rooms. SLOWWWW elevator. Terrible wifi.

    3
    « Free Parking »

The main reason for booking this hotel was free parking - a big asset in Boston. The suite itself is quite nice. Would appreciate a few amenities such as glass drinking glasses and wine glasses. Area of the hotel not great but within walking distance of Back Bay plus hotel does provide a shuttle service.

  • 5
« Great Value with Amazing Staff »

The staff did a wonderful job accommodating our parking needs as we arrived with our large Motorhome. The entire staff made us feel special at all times especially Front desk, security and shuttle staff. Amazing free breakfast selection! Would definitely stay here again!

    1
    « Disappointing »

Only good thing to say about this place is the shuttle driver Pablo (helpful and friendly). Front desk staff were the rudest we encountered on our three week visit to the USA. Managed to 'check-out' at the end of our stay without staff saying one word to me (not even hello or good morning), more interested in complaining about the computer and talking to her colleague about non-work related matters. The actual room needed the floor to be mopped, otherwise it was clean. No wifi in the room (only got coverage standing in the hallway). Can hear traffic/sirens in room (they did provide two packets of ear plugs, but there were four of us). Would not recommend the location either (witnessed drug deal taking place from the shuttle!). A terrible experience, would not recommend to anyone.

    1
    « Not a plus, more of a minus »

Everywhere the place is in disrepair. The place is between two hospitals so there are sirens all night. The hotel actually ran out of regular coffee! The elevator numbers do not correspond with the actual floors numbers. The tub had severe corrosion, just looked dirty. Pubic hairs on the toilet when I arrived. The property is in a terrible part of town so be ready and willing to face down a community of transients. REALLY BAD HOTEL

    2
    « Poor location »

Didn't feel this place was value for money. Breakfast was disappointing. Not near transport links. Shuttle only every 90 mins-terrible!! Staff were nice though. Rooms a good size and beds comfortable.

    3
    « Generally happy »

The hotel very close to a very busy main street and once you left the lobby you were immediately aware of how close the traffic was. However, the room was relatively free of loud road noise. The area where the hotel is situated is not that convenient to the city and required a taxi ride to get to suitable restaurants. However, location is what yo pay extra for. Also, the area appeared to have a number of homeless people close by. This was explained as the fact the hotel is close to free medical facilities. The female members of our party were somewhat intimidated by this but we had no trouble overall. Rooms were comfortable and clean

    1
    « Didn't honor our reservation »

Sept 12-13 this year, my daughter and I booked 2 nights a month in advance. Arrive at the hotel about 5:30 PM to be notifed they had no room, 'there was a computer problem and we are overbooked'. Sent me to a Ramada nearby, which also had no room as the Best Western had not confirmed the rooms when they inquired to availability earlier in the day. As it turned out there were NO ROOMS IN BOSTON that night, or the next. The Ramada manager finally got us a room in a Waltham Best Western - she was amazing, spent 40 minutes trying to find me a room and checking reviews here so I wouldn't end up in a bug infested hotel... Best Western did not care. It was a nightmare. Had to leave Boston the next day as couldn't find a room anywhere. .

    4
« Quality Hotel and very good value for your dollar »

Best Western Plus met our high expectations once again however I was disappointed with the loud noise caused by a crowd gathering next door. This would I assume seem like a weekend occurence as the hotel provided ear plugs to cut down on the noise. Breakfast buffet was great with a lot of selection to choose from. Very good location to access Boton's attraction. The hotel provided a shuttle service to Boston area transit stops which made our accessability to the Boston area attractions very convenient. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

    2
    « a comedy of errors? »

This hotel is on the very fringe of the city (when I called , they led me to believe otherwise) Far from public transportation and no amenities in the area. The numbers in the elevator are actually different then the floor!! CRAZY! No staff told us and we wandered around with our luggage. The internet does not work in the rooms. Period. I used the room phone to call the front desk, SOMETHING STICKY WAS ALL OVER IT! I really do not want to know what ended up on my hands and face. No bedding in the room for the pullout. Really, really disappointing. The hotel took off the tax for the stay. REALLY? the van driver was helpful.

    4
    « Friendly staff »

Visited and the shuttle service is great, gets you from a to be easily. The breakfast is also great my particular favourite being the waffles. Refreshments and snacks in the hotel lobby also a bonus added extra. Only thing is the sofa bed when you pull it out not the best nights sleep. Staff were friendly and welcoming, especially the breakfast staff.

    3
    « Boston Medical Center »

The hotel is within walking distance to Boston Medical Center, altho they also provide a shuttle service. The area around this hotel is scary with druggies, homeless, beggars, and mentally ill. We would not want to walk around here at night. The rooms need to be updated in decor, but our beds were very nice. Also, the room was a suite and spacious with a bed and bath separated from living area. We stayed here only due to convenient location.

  • 4
    « Good but expensive »

Convenient to Fenway Park and freeways. Used shuttle to baseball game but had to hoof it home after the game at 11 P.M. Price is steep ($498 for two nites) but reasonable concerning the location. Quite a few unsavory characters hanging around the hotel entrance.

    4
« Great Stay at Best Western »

We were very satisfied with our stay at this Best Western. The price was very reasonable compared with other hotels in the city. I would recommend this hotel. Rooms were spacious and drivers for the shuttle were very nice, helpful and punctual.

    4
« Just couple miles from the downtown »

We stayed in hotel for 3 nights. Labor Day weekend. The area is not so good, but hotel and room is very good for the money. Twice cheaper than downtown. Good breakfast, free parking, and very nice stuff . $7-8 by Uber to the central tourist location in downtown.

    2
    « not for sleeping »

Situated in a bright industrial area. Street is noisy outside with ambulances and other traffic. Bright lights from industrial area makes it hard to sleep with no blinds on window. Staff were really nice and there is a shuttle to take you on a few different routes around town.

    5
« Do not judge a hotel by all it's reviews »

Went to Boston for a concert at Fenway and wanted a hotel close by. Chose the Best Western because it was around 2 miles away with a shuttle and FREE parking. After booking the hotel I read some of the reviews. Honestly if you always read reviews and some so negative, you would never travel. One of the biggest complaints in the reviews was that it was very noisy there. Well, you stay in a big city what do you expect!! It wasn't bad at all. The hotel is under renovation but that did not get in the way of how friendly the staff was and how nice the room was. I would definitely stay there again

    3
    « my review »

Breakfast was not provided, cookies were not provided as stated. Hotel was clean staff was courteous. Area that hotel was located in was questionable. Many homeless sleeping on street drug deals outside etc.

    2
    « Just passing through... »

This hotel had good reviews so we decided to try it out on our way through Massachusetts. It is clean but it is old. Very small rooms, we could hardly get our suitcases past the tv and bed. It is right next to the highway so you hear cars and trucks constantly traveling by. We were going to stay here two nights and do a few day trips, but decided to only stay one night and move on. Old and outdated. Staff is nice but rooms are small and outdated.

    4
« The area is scary »

The hotel is great for the money. The employees are extremely polite and nice. With the hospital and fire department near its a little noisy but that did not bother me. My daughter describes the area as the methadone mile. Next door are a lot of homeless people who are drunk and definitely messed up. They would look at you and say things as you walked by. I would not recommend walking outside around the hotel.

    5
« Very clean, updated. would stay again »

Staff was friendly and breakfast was good. Only issue is the hotel is near the hospital so it can be loud. It wasnt too loud at night- but during the day there were constant sirens. The hotel cannot control the outside noise though. Everything about the hotel was 100%

    4
    « Best Western Roundhouse »

very nice hotel - comfortable , clean rooms. Ample free parking. Decent breakfast. Attentive, friendly staff. Hotel is not in a great area for sightseeing and is on a dark , noisy street. Safety issues at night but a good place to stay for the value compared to other hotels in Boston.

  • 4
    « terrible location »

Refurbished rooms are beautiful - staff is friendly, helpful and efficient: BUT the location is terrible - located near hospitals and homeless shelters - lots of sirens day and night. Told not to walk in the area even during the day due to safety concerns. Fine if you use shuttles, cars or cabs, but don't expect to walk anywhere.

« Two nights at the BW Roundhouse suites for Labor day week end »

Upon arrival we found hair in the bed sheets and in the bath tub. Difficult to sleep in the morning with a noisy neibourghood. The wifi did not work in our room. We asked twice the front desk for assistance, never seen anyone to fix it. We had to stand in the hallway to use the WIFI. Sunday morning at breakfast the potatoes were rotten. Before we left on Sunday, upstairs Staff were chatting and ignored us blatantly after we say hello waiting for the elevator. I do not recommend this hotel.

« Great Place to Stay »

Great place to stay a few blocks away from the center of the city. The surroundings were a bit dangerous-looking but the hotel was beautiful and safe. The room was very clean and spacious ( we had a suite). I would definetly stay here in the future again with my boyfriend but probably not by myself considering the area it is in. There is a shuttle that takes you to various spots which made us feel safe. Overall a great place to stay when visiting Boston.

    « Got very little sleep/very noisy »

Hard to get any sleep with no drapes on the windows and bright light coming in all night along with a lot of outside noise and sirens. Service was very good. Room nicely furnished with small refrigerator. Free breakfast very good. Friendly staff. Pet friendly. Rates change dramatically according to what's happening in the city.

    « Highs and lows »

We had a king suite which was clean and nicely decorated but very small. We were warned of renovations before booking and they proved to be a non issue but what we didn't know about was that the hotel was situated in an industrial area near a hospital and fire station. The hotel provided ear plugs for sleeping and they were needed. Location was convenient however for accessing Fenway and downtown. Free breakfast was fair but Victoria's diner up the street was great. Staff was friendly a d helpful.

« Nice room. Unhelpful evening staff »

We booked this room because it has a shuttle. That being said the last shuttle is 915 pm. We were there at 918 called the front staff hung up on my husband two times. When we finally got to speak with them did not give instructions on where we are to meet the van . As my esp is on thr fritz we where on the wrong side i guess called 3 more times. Finally 30 min later i was told to get a cab. The staff did not even want to give us the number for a cab. As i was calling the cab THE VERY NICE HILTON DRIVER OFFERED TO GIVE US A LIFT AT NO CHARGE . YES WE GAVE HIM A 20 DOLLARS TIP. I am not happy. I would have given a 1 rating for this but the room is nice.just an fyi i never give bad reviews but this really made me upset!

    « Nice »

My friends and I stayed here for a few days during the 4th of July weekend. We got to the desk and they were very friendly, but gave us the key card to the wrong room. Honest mistake-no biggie. The rooms were pretty spacious and had enough room for the 4 of us. I liked that there was a refrigerator and microwave. The breakfast every morning wasn't fabulous, but it wasn't horrible. It's free so what more could you ask for? Make sure you make yourself some waffles! The free wifi doesn't really work-which is maybe why it's free. The shuttle is great, but really needs to run later. My friend and I got stuck at the T with dead cell phones(our fault), so we were unable to even call them to come get us. Plus it was the night of the fireworks, so you think they would try to run later than 9:30. Thankfully we were able to catch a cab dropping someone off. One of the nights we were there, we came back probably after 1AM and none of us had a key card- that was pretty stupid of us, all of thinking one of us had it. The staff on duty gave us another card for no charge, which was super nice. If you're not really used to "urban" locations, don't stay here, it's not for you. LOL. Not too many places to eat nearby, but if you search you'll find one. There is parking, so if you have your car-take it to find a place to eat.

« Spacious suite for group of 3 »

Stayed 4 days in July/August 2016 in a group of 3. Surprised with the size of the room that accommodated 3 guys quite comfortably, with decent size beds (including sofa), bathroom and sinks to provide a bit of breathing space. Service wasn't the best aspect as we had some issues with lost luggage that were complicated by front desk, and required an additional detour to the airport and several lost hours. This was after very clear and detailed discussion around the handling of said items and still resulted in a debacle. The location is kind of dodgy however we relied on uber to pick up from the front door and security was always around to move on the inebriated individuals who crowd the area.

« Best Western and our College Road trip »

Trinity UAME Church of Newark, NJ has been using Best Western for our choice of hotel ever since 2010 for our College Road trips for our youth. The hotels are convenient, well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful.

    « Excellent Customer service »

Hotel manager went out of his way to make us feel welcome and was very helpful showing us the transit system and the local attractions. The only fault I can say is the Wireless internet had a very poor signal strength, and the construction in the hotel was loud, but they provided ear plugs to help you sleep.

    « Pleasantly surprised! »

The location of this hotel near the bus and train stops, combined with the free parking, extensive and delicious complimentary buffet breakfast, room decor, and warm, friendly service are commendable. I would definitely return.

it was suppose to be a good time for my daughter her last night with us before she leaves for her station with navy be gone for 3 years, it was not what I wanted for her it was in unsafe area not close to boston down town every thing was close

    « clean rooms »

Great broom and very clean. Great staff - friendly and courteous. The location isn't the best but the price is good value for being outside Boston. Just be careful if you go out after dark. There are a lot of shall we say unsavoury people on the street although we were not bothered at all by anyone.

    « Going to Fernway »

Pleasant helpful staff and a well kept facility make this a good choice when attending an event at Fenway Park. It is also well located for other visitor events and the shuttle will helpfully get you to major transportation hubs.

« Less money for families! »

Roundhouse Suites includes in their price a large and delicious breakfast buffet in a separate dining room. Great way to start the day. Parking is included, as well, which is very difficult to find in Boston. We were happy to not have to pay a separate garage fee. If you want to leave your car in the lot and if you're not up for the < 1 mile walk to the nearest subway station, the BW provides a shuttle (included) to two different stops AND will accommodate additional stops (for a tip) if they can fit it into their schedule. Very friendly drivers! We walked sometimes and used the shuttle others. There is a McD's across the street and a Cumberland Farms (large convenience store) just a few buildings away and a gas station next door for evening food/snacks. We would have loved to have been closer to city center, but it just wasn't affordable. THIS BW option was clean and polite (they offer fresh coffee, water and fruit all day in the lobby) and a great option for families needing to watch their budget. Enjoy Boston!

    « renovation »

Location is not good and all rooms need to be renovated. The industrial traffic is very loud in the mornings. The breakfast was just fruit, juice, and coffee. The staff is not that friendly and there was confusion with our online reservation at check in.

« Nice and just the right price »

This Best Western has been and is undergoing renovations. Our room and its bathroom were spacious. Breakfast was the usual type of Best Western spread with sausage, ready-made omelets, waffle-maker, fruit, etc. Desk staff were helpful and pleasant. Bed was comfortable although it sits VERY high so getting in could be a problem for some people.

« Great Place To Stay On Outskirts Boston! »

Loved the structure of the building. The great place to stay away the hustle bustle of Boston. Free parking and free shuttle to the back bay with quick walk to Fenway. Prices are reasonable and rooms which are suites were very clean and comfortable

    « Don't advertise what you don't offer »

When we arrived in a group of four on a business trip, the front desk at first could find a reservation for only one room, the for two, even though our group leader had a confirmation email for four rooms. Fortunately they had two other rooms and could accommodate all four of us. The hotel advertises free Wifi, but it did not exist in my room. I lost two hours of valuable time the first day and more the morning of the second day when I could not connect. I called the Best Western toll free tech support number twice and both times was told one or more routers were out and they would take care of it within 10 minutes. They never did and I was out of luck. As notes in some other reviews the location is not great and I don't know that I'd want to walk around there at night. The room was OK, a bit faded, like the rest of the hotel. Fitness center was very small, with four pieces of equipment. Fortunately it was empty when I was there. Breakfast was good with a lot of choices: hot and cold cereal, toast, muffins, bagels and pastry, yogurt, fruit, eggs, waffles, three kinds of juice and coffee and tea. All things considered I would not stay here again.

    « Central without internet »

We are regular users of Best Western and this will be the last time that we use Best Western due to the lack of internet. The hotel is well located, the rooms are excellent and the breakfast room is well presented and has great options. When a hotel say's they have high speed internet and we can't access the internet at all from our room l get upset. We left after two days and moved to another hotel. In this day and age you need internet and this is the third Best Western in the past 6 weeks where we have had this problem, as a Diamond select member l will vote with my feet, no more Best Western and as we are on the road 6 months of the year, every year l choose to move my business.

« I will never stay at this hotel again, even if you paid me$$$ »

Terrible experience appalling simply put stay away at any expense. They call this building The Roundhouse for a reason. Noise level was too laud at all times. No security if any; however, the police frequent this area. Violence everywhere, drug dealers and junkies everywhere. Fighting non stop and you can see and hear everything. Pest everywhere. Old furniture and carpeting, refrigerator didn't work, ice machine cover was falling/hanging off, brunch was limited buffet food looked dirty and old especially the fruit, the juice at the juice bar in the lobby looked containmenated. The staff and management never smile meaning they clearly aren't happy. They gave me an ear; however, they never listened to my concerns.

« I have never stayed in a poorer location »

The service was non existent, and the room was terrible. The location was extremely undesirable , and I would not recommend it. The breakfast was not fit to eat and the waitress tried to stalk me as I refused to pay for it. I would pay more and go somewhere else in the future.

    « Great logistical hotel »

The hotel itself is really quite nice. The room was much larger than I would have expected given the size of Boston. The breakfast was a decent BWP breakfast with eggs and bacon. The staff were great. As others commented, the neighborhood is a bit rough; however, I did walk the neighborhood towards the hospital with my teenage daughter and we were never bothered by the apparent street people. The little pizza place across the street is pretty good as well. The shuttle has a schedule, and they stick to it fairly well. The location is ~10 minute drive to Logan airport. I'd stay again.

    « Terrible Service »

No air conditioning in our room. No other rooms available and no fan for the room. Switched room after 1 night and had no internet access. The complimentary shuttle to the Transit stop (one of the reasons we stayed here) left us stranded for over an hour and a half our first night ... then over 45 minutes or third night. Morning staff never relayed our problems to staff to remedy the situations, so they offered us a small credit which we never received. Manager approved the credit the day we checked out, but he no longer works there. The girl who actually issues the credit is never there or available to talk to about it. Had to go to Best Western corporate to try and get this resolved.

    « Meh. Okay Experience »

Overall the stay was okay. Okay service, okay rooms, decent breakfast. The hotel is VERY noisy from street noise. So much so that they include earplugs in the room. Location is a bit sketchy but the shuttle gets you to the T in order to get around town.

    « Fine hotel »

My partner and I called from the road trying to book in Cambridge however there was no rooms left. They stated the BW Roundhouse in Boston had a king room available. We took it. It is a quite suite. It is pretty clean. The staff is very friendly. Nice continental breakfast and price was great! We did have loud neighbors but settled down. The one large problem is they have very little parking and their drive is hidden we drove by it twice

    « nice place/bad location »

I have stayed at this hotel 4 times in the last 5 months. The lobby is beautiful and the complimentary coffee, juice bar is a very nice touch though I did not partake. The complimentary breakfast and the people staffing it is wonderful. Extremely professional, friendly and helpful. I do hope guests tip these staff members as they aim to please and appreciation should be shown to them.

« Good luck if you book with third party program like reward programs »

They cannot find your booking most of the time and you will need to spend a lot of time finding your booking. It took me 2 days to reverse the charge they mistakenly charged me which I redeemed through reward program. I'm still waiting for my refund and not to mention I might loose out on my exchange rate as I am not using USD credit cards. You will not believe you will still need to deal with the aftermath 27 days after staying there.

« Wouldn't know- they gave my room away (and were rude) »

I booked my room via Amex travel, and prepaid for the entire thing months in advance. But after driving 6 hours, I was told, upon arrival at 9pm in a part of town that I know nothing about, with two young exhausted kids in tow, that my prepaid room was given away due to a shortage in rooms caused by overbooking and a water leak. Their answer was to transfer me to a nearby hotel and then come get me the next day to come back to their hotel, which wasnt feasible for me because I was at family events from 7am the next day until well after 10pm. I needed the hotel room a paid for in advance for 2 straight days. Stuff happens. I get it. But my complaints about how this was handled. They had my phone number. They very easily could have called me and let me know that this was happening. Yet they did not. They gave me no warning, prior to or during my 6 hour drive, that my room was given away. I had no way to find a room on my own that would better suit my needs rather than relying on the replacement room that they came up with (and I'm not sure how they feel that a suite is equitably replaced with a 1 king bed for 2 adults and 2 kids). Secondarily, the front desk person was incredibly rude, claiming that my prepaid reservation was not prepaid (???) and that they were doing me a favor by sending me to another hotel at no charge. She repeated this over and over, including to my bewildered Amex travel consultant who was just as confused as I was, insisting that, yes, this was a prepaid reservation. apparently, they were doing me a favor by not making me pay twice for the same night? The front desk clerk had a huge attitude and was not willing to give an inch. At the end of the day, Amex made it right and fully refunded my PREPAYMENT. But I will never stay here, and likely never at another Best Western (2 chances, 2 hotels, 2 awful experiences).

« good value for the price »

close to Boston Medical Center so expect high volume of sirens, plus extra sirens from police and fire/rescue vehicles. also close to large bus parking lot so will hear lots of safety back-up beeping. still, there is a good staff, security at front door, free parking!, free shuttle to rapid transit and train stations, good breakfast included with price, and if you wear yourself out walking downtown historic Boston after walking the mile to and from a rapid transit station like we did- the noise just won't matter! the air conditioning didn't work (if there really is any, that is) and the room really got muggy, plus the maintenance staff was never able to fix the bedroom tv remote which was very inconvenient, but all in all- the good far outweighed the bad

« Do not stay here. No Air Conditioning, broken toilets, no closets to put your clothes. »

Had two rooms here. A/C didn't work in either room, asked for new rooms. Were assured it would be resolved by the time we returned from dinner at 11 pm. When we returned it had been resolved by them opening the windows. One window slammed down on my husbands finger leaving a blood blister. The metal cover from the A/C fell on my daughter's foot. They said they had no new room to give us. Gave us a refund. The rest of our party arrived the next day, they were also given rooms with no a/c and broken toilet (not the same room #'s as ours). Upholstered chairs are stained and there was no place to put a suitcase on and no closet to hang clothes. We weren't the only ones at the desk at 11 pm with issues.

    « Hotel Rating »

This was our third year to stay at the Best Western Roundhouse, Boston, Massachusetts. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel for many reasons. We were there for my husband to be treated and monitored for Amyloid in his lungs at the Medical Facilities specializing in treatment for his condition. It is always a stressful trip because of all the test and medical procedures he experiences. The hotel is an older hotel but is extremely well maintained and offers so many amenities for a very fair price. We were treated by every employee with total respect. Our gratitude for their assistance and attitude, we always saw nothing but friendly faces everyday. The breakfast offered was amazing and it was always a great way to start our day. In the evening when we arrived back at the hotel at the end of the day, you could smell the fresh baked cookies in the lobby and of course they were offered, along with coffee, tea and other delicious beverages. They provided free parking and a shuttle to take you almost anywhere you needed to go to connect to the trains. We were so grateful for all this being available as part of the amenities. Huge thanks for making this hotel a great place to relax. See you next year.

    « Horrendous Experience »

The entire experience with the stay at this hotel was horrendous. From unhelpful, impolite staff, to extremely poor internet, poor quality breakfast with paper plates and unkempt dishes. This is an extremely overpriced hotel for the jaw-droppingly poor service they provide. I'd recommend a torn tent compared to this place.

« Average, but with very helpful staff »

We stayed in the Roundhouse for 3 nights in beginning of May. We liked the room layout and that we had an in room safe. Beds were very comfy. Breakfast had a good variety even though we don't understand why plates and cups all has to be plastic. All the staff we spoke to were extremely helpful and service minded. BUT the area is rough and unpleasant. Don't even think of going out on foot after dark. SO if you drive to and from hotel directly and stay inside, it is a good, average price hotel.

    « Awesome as always »

I stay here at least twice a month and am so comfortable with the hotel. Obviously with new management there are a lot of good changes visible. Staff is so happy and eager to help you. I see a lot of comments about rough neighborhood but you can't change it. There is round the clock security and during my multiple stays, I have never felt scared. Everything from room comfort to breakfast are awesome. There is no doubt that with these renovations this hotel will be a much sought-after property. I congratulate the management for giving people like me an awesome experience always

« best western plus roundhouse suites »

The hotel itself and staff were very nice. The interior was very clean, but the exterior was not. It had trash all over the front and back of the building and in the parking lot. The hotel itself has a lot of history behind it and it was not even mentioned on booking site.

    « Average, just average »

We stayed in the roundhouse for two nights in April. It was easily located, but I was a bit put off by the location on a shady industrial area. They have no unloading area, or attached parking, so you block the one lane driveway where the shuttle parks to get checked in and told where to park. This was an abandoned detached lot across the street. The one with the un-manned guard shack that smells like urine that had no working cameras I could see. We did park there without incident but did not leave anything of value in the vehicle. Check in was smooth, keys worked, but nothing was explained. You had to ask about breakfast particulars, no pool, the manual in the room says see front desk for key to access workout room, they looked at me like I was crazy and escorted me in. It was in the basement, and hot. Clean towels and water were provided. The room was a cool layout, with an in room safe. Only complaint was the AC didn't go lower than 68 and it blew right into the bed. So you were freezing until it popped off, then you were hot until it came back on, which happened constantly all night. We did not experience any noise from other rooms. The shuttle service was fab, he even took us past the T the one day. The evening before we left, I requested express checkout, the desk clerk said no problem. Yet upon waking and after breakfast the next day, still no bill under the door. Had to check out at the desk. FYI best western keys need not be returned to check out. Overall, it was still pricier than what we got out of the experience.

    « Blah »

Bad location, run down - everything needs updates, VERY noisy ALL night - they actually provide earplugs which tells you a lot, terrible parking lots - one is next door in a gas station, shuttle was useless - ran infrequiently and only to T stops. The staff was nice, professional, and helpful but wouldn't ever stay again.

    « Great value--excellent where it matters! »

While this hotel is not new and doesn't have the latest decor, they do an excellent job where it matters. The room was spotless, spacious, and well-stocked with everything you will need. The bed was comfortable and the linens were soft and fresh. The room was surprisingly quiet, especially given the location on Mass. avenue, within walking distance to all the things we needed to get to. More than anything, though, I can't say enough good things about the staff--they bend over backward to make you feel like the most important guests in the world. A special shout-out to Elisha at the front desk and Lewis in the shuttle. Well done!

    « STAFF »

I go to many hotels due to my work and hobbies the staff here were some of the best I have ever seen. The location and building was average, I lost my parking spot since it's a first come first serve due to a huge event at the con center. The staff was always ready to fix any problem I ran into. Lost spot, allowed me to park in the front. Room mishap due to hotels.com gave me equal value rooming. late to breakfast, took out something for me to eat. They were on top of everything. If there is a single person that really deserves praise would be Rebecca. She was there and courteous the whole time.

« Best Western Toilet Bowl »

As a Diamond Rewards member I have stayed at many many many Best Western Hotels across the country. This one is the worst in every category and I will never stay here again. If I experience another stay such as this in another Best Western Hotel I will take my business elsewhere. I made a reservation the day before as my wife had an appointment at Boston Medical for her heart condition and we wanted a nice place to relax the night before to avoid traffic as we live over an hour away from Boston. I reserved a King Suite at this Best Western PLUS Hotel. Upon check in I was informed they did not have a King Suite available so than why was I allowed to make a reservation? I was given a room with 2 double beds instead. This room was a complete disgusting rat hole at a total cost of $215.00 for the night. - One of the beds was broken -the furniture appeared to have been tossed around as it was all banged up -one of the lamps was broken - with a hole in the base -the toilet was broken - it was like sitting on a rocking chair -the bath tub did not hold water -the room was dark and grungy -the carpet was disgusting -the room smelled -I did not receive my welcome package either -there was a hypodermic needle in the parking lot!!!! I called the front desk to request better accommodations and was informed that they had nothing available and left me to fume! They did not send anyone to check on our situation and I had to call 3 more times before I was finally told they were "fixing up a spare room for us and someone would bring us the keys" Keys were brought to us and we moved to room 105 which had a walk-in shower and no tub which was something we were anticipating to use. AND the shower head was broken AND the bathroom sink sprayed water all over the vanity top when using. To further top this off the following morning while in the breakfast room a security person dressed like a black panther came in interrogating everyone there inquiring who was staying in room 301. It was very unprofessional and guests were made to feel like they were in some sort of prison camp. The Hotel is a round building which is fitting as I would compare it to a big toilet. The staff is obviously not trained to identify poor accommodations. The fact that this room was rented out is a sign that they are incompetent as any idiot could see the obvious problems and than not be able to address things in a better way. Our stay was a complete disaster. I am so dissatisfied with this entire experience and given the reason why we were there and why I chose Best Western I am even more unhappy. I do expect a response to this complaint or I will take my business to another Hotel.

« Excellent Staff and Service made the stay great! »

The location is in a busy industrial / medical area. The hotel provides ear plugs, however we found we didn't need/use them as we ran the fan (on the thermostat) all night creating white noise. Although the neighborhood may be considered "rough", it's not violent. We walked back from the downtown area late at night with no issues. Sadly, if you walk, you do encounter a fair share of homeless individuals (probably due in part to the proximity to the hospital. The hotel is clean and very well run. The staff is beyond friendly and helpful ... they made the stay great! The breakfast was plentiful, fresh, and there was enough assortment that everyone found something they liked. I thought it great that the hotel didn't nickel and dime or gouge us: complimentary coffee, juice, cookies and fruit in the lobby, in addition to coffee and water in the room, and the included breakfast. For the money, we'd definitely stay there again.

« Generally good service, except for shuttle »

We were met with friendly and helpful service. Good breakfast. However, one of the shuttle drivers was not punctual and did not have a good attitude. Also, very overpriced due to the Marathon weekend.

    « A game of two halves »

First half: this hotel is very good at what it does, that is provide good value accommodation. Our room was spotlessly clean, the staff were, without fail, excellent and the breakfast was great value. Second half: this is all about the location. It is situated in an industrial area and next to a hospital which means it is noisy. Also, and I think this is pretty important, there are a lot of pretty unsavoury characters hanging around at all times, begging for money from cars at the big crossroads. I will say that we were never hassled but it did feel uncomfortable to the extent that we preferred to get a cab back at night rather than walk. The hotel is about 20 minutes' walk from the main tourist areas but a shuttle bus is available at fairly regular intervals. Would I stay again? Yes, with the proviso that the price was right and I got a cab back right to the front door!

« Convenient place to stay when you have a car »

We were a family of 4 in a car trip through new England so we needed a hotel with parking and easy access to highways. After reading some of the reviews we were afraid that the area would not be safe, but were positively surprised by the location. It's close to downtown Boston and to the highways; it's not a pretty Street but it's OK. There is some noise at night but with the ear plugs it's fine. However, the best about this hotel is the staff. Rebecca Ortega checked us in and out and I can't praise her enough for how kind, understanding and accommodating she was with us. I would totally go back to this hotel.

« "See if anyone is in the room" »

I stayed at the Best Western Plus and arrived at 1:30am after a late flight. My room had been given to another guest and all of the rooms were booked. The woman at the front desk proceeded to give me a key to a room and told me to go to the room and "check if anyone was inside. For some reason I did this and I am so glad the room was empty, but unfortunately the carpets had just been cleaned so it was not available. She they told me to look at another room. I asked if the security guard could do it because I didn't feel safe. She said - "that's not his job." They had to move me to another hotel in the middle of the night and I didn't get to sleep until 3am and had a meeting the next morning. The whole ordeal was completely bizarre.

« Staff is extremely nice. »

The rooms can use some updating but overall it was clean and comfortable. They have complimentary breakfast every morning with a very good variety. They also bake cookies in the lobby for their guests and have fresh fruit and coffee. The staff is very friendly and nice. I would consider staying here again just because of the staff.

« Good Value Security Issues »

The hotel is a good value, clean rooms, good breakfast, free parking in Boston and a shuttle around the area. The security issue, since when does a hotel collect a photo copy of your drivers license, this is a security issue that can lead to identity theft, where does this info go after you check out, in a shredder, or in the trash where anyone has access. I belong to the Best Western rewards club and I am using a major credit card, I should only have to show the front desk my ID not a photo copy taken, this practice needs to stop right away. I stay in hotels 30-45 nights a year and never has this happened.

« bad neighbourhood, nice hotel »

the Hotel and the room was OK, but in the neighbourhood is a medical Center, that must be the reason for so many drugs addicted people arround the Hotel ... I was really frightend, I don´t know something from Germany, I was unpleasant surprised. That´s why I can´t recommend this place... but the People in the Hotel where very nice and helpful ...

« Average but would not stay again »

The location is in a bad part of the city. The internet did not work. There was major construction in the hotel so the water was shut off from 10am-3pm on Monday and Tuesday. The carpets were professionally cleaned however the scent was so strong, I had a migraine and had to move rooms. The staff was friendly. The lobby was very nice and served cookies/coffee/water/fruit. The Breakfast was also very nice. Once of the best. I would not stay again due to the location and safety.

« Good hotel, Neighborhood in transition »

During our stay, the hotel was in the process of renovations. That said, the room was comfortable and warm. The hot water was heaven and there was plenty of it! As I said, the renovations were obvious. Cosmetic things were a miss in our room, but none of it impacted our stay. Other reviews mentioned the sirens and neighborhood. For us, this was all a part of being in a urban hotel setting near a very busy ER. They provide earplugs in the room and there is signage regarding the remodeling and street noise. We were not there during the day, so I don't know about the construction noise. Overall, the room was neat, clean, warm with plenty of hot water. We didn't personally care for the breakfast, so we went to the McDonalds across the street. We didn't know there was a parking lot next to the property, so we parked in back in the gas station. Very close access to I 93 and 90. While there were people about outside, no one was lingering around the hotel itself, nor where they in the lobby. If you use normal precautions for urban city travel, you should be just fine. I went to McDonalds to grab coffee and we walked 15 min. to the T and felt safe. Once the renovations are done, we would stay there again.

    « Wonderful service »

The service was exceptional. We were greeted each time we came back to the hotel and little things like bottled water in the rooms and cookies and fresh fruit in the lobby were a nice touch. The women who ran the breakfast were so friendly and the breakfast was delicious and there were many different choices so no one will go hungry. Our room was very clean and had a small refrigerator and microwave. One thing to be aware of is that there is a door to the bedroom that is glass and has a sheer curtain over it so while it is a door it is partially see-through. They are renovating the hotel's 5th and 6th floors. We were on the 4th floor but did not hear much noise. They did tell us at check-in that they put us on the opposite side of where they were renovating so maybe that helped. The area around the hotel is industrial and they did have a security guard. There is a nice pizza/burger restaurant across the street as well as a McDonald's and a gas station. I did use the exercise room which had a treadmill, bike and elliptical.

« Good hotel, terrible neighborhood »

The hotel is actually really nice, and I agree with others that the rooms are spacious, and well-kept. The only problem is the neighborhood. Our first day, my son and I took the bus into town (wasn't aware of the shuttle), so we walked to the bus stop about 5 minutes from the hotel. Drug addicts were all over the place. At night, I would not be comfortable outside (though we might venture out tonight); I have not seen any restaurant other than MacDonald's and a seedy looking pizzeria across the street. Quite noisy outside because it's a major thoroughfare. So you have to take good with the bad. Our room was immaculately kept, and it was large. Breakfast wasn't bad at all, much better than I expected with hardboiled eggs being a nice touch. Coffee was good too. But location really put a damper on the experience, and I will not return here nor be able to recommend.

    « Value for Money »

During the family first trip to Boston , we stayed at Best for the first time. What an experience! Could we get better - Maybe.... the location - but no way can anybody beat the welcome that we got here. From the smiling front desk staff to the obliging room service and not to forget the early morning breakfast spread. Even the drivers of 24 hour shuttle to nearby metro were perfect in their attitude. The security person let us borrow his extra personal Charlie card- now who would do that. And this is from a person who travels a lot. If that were not enough their manager Mr. Vic Khokha personally met with and thanked us. He runs a good ship.

Excellent rooms and staff! Needed to have floating departure date to co-ordinate with a Boston Med Center patient, Perfect location for Boston Med Center. TV selections slightly over complicated--not much problem: right next to bar fridge while you wait.

    « Very comfortable! »

I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort in the room, small though practical. Good to have a sofa to sit and relax after long working day. The WiFi worked perfectly so I managed to have work done in the room too. The breakfast lounge is ample and the variety of food decent. Loved the vanity at the bathroom, large and very well lighted. Indeed, the hotel provides earplugs, however, when I stayed, they were absolutely unnecessary. It was very quiet at night. Will definitely consider this hotel next time business would bring me to Boston.

The double bedroom was larger than my expectation. There were many space for me to place my stuff. The bed was good. The bedroom was clean The housekeeper was friendly. However, the key did not work well and so as the wifi in the bedroom.

    « Wow what a great service »

I stayed at this hotel on Feb 19 and 20. I booked this hotel because it had free parking, free wifi and wasn't expensive but I never thought the rooms would be that big! It's a suite, well a small suite but we were really comfortable for 2. Could have been 4 easily. There were a tv in the "living room" and one in the room. Probably about 42" if my memory serves me well. It was clean. We had free bottles of water in the fridge, soap, earplugs (yep you read that right). They had earplugs because it's really near the highway and close to an hospital but anyway that didn't prevent me from sleeping. The A/C and heater can be quite noisy too but I didn't really care. It's at about 10 minutes by car to Trillium and Row 34. Now the staff. Wow! I've never had a better service in my life elsewhere. They are all really great. The service at the morning breakfast buffet is awesome. On the first day there were even more staff than clients. Service at the checkin is also awesome. Honestly I don't know what I would have changed as for the service. Like I said previously one of the reason I chose this resort was because of the free parking. I could see my car from my room which was great. At other hotels in Boston it's about $50 per night which is insane! Sure the room showed a bit of wear and tear but nothing really urgent. My 5 star review is based on the price vs size of room + quality of service + all the goodies includes. I would sure go back any time and will recommend it to all my beer geek friends wanting to go to Boston.

    « Restless stay »

I chose this hotel because it is conveniently located near the Brigham and Womens Hospital which I have to go to every 3 months. The hotel itself is very nice. The location is convenient also for shopping and nearby restaurants. The sidewalks leading to the building are in horrible shape and in the dark pose a risk of falling. Extremely noisy and not a place to get any sleep, they do provide earplugs if that tells you anything

    « Wonderful hotel »

I recently stayed at the Best Western and was immediately greeted with great service by elisha at the front desk. She text me and quickly to a beautiful room and provided extra necessity I need it for the room. Even though I had no transportation, it wasn't a problem with the shuttle that they provide at the hotel. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for a wonderful place to stay. Trying to experience the best of Boston

« My stay at Best Western Roundhouse »

My visit to Boston was enhanced by my stay at the Best Western Roundhouse. I was worried when we arrived. The hotel is in a rough looking area. Everything changed when we got inside to be welcomed by a bright clean and soothing atmosphere. Most of this feeling was due to the warmth and professionalism of Elisha Cherry, the young woman who checked us in, saw to our needs and gave us great tips about getting the most out of Boston, as well as Jose the very handy and attentive engineer. I would be more than likely to recommend to friends

A pretty decent hotel. Very clean and the staff was very nice. Breakfast was better than a normal breakfast and the shuttle was very convenient bringing you into the city. I enjoyed that they didn't charge for parking, which most other hotels charged $50 a night and that the room itself was a great deal. Would recommend this hotel for a night over in Boston.

« Nice hotel in Boston »

My husband and I stayed at the BWP Roundhouse just overnight so we could take in a couple of the attractions in Boston. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel and the room. It's an all-suite hotel so we had a small living room with couch, chair, desk, fridge, micro and sink. There were French doors into the bedroom which was spacious with an extra chair. Bathroom was very clean. PROS: Clean, comfortable bed. Complimentary shuttle to T stop and area hospitals. My kudos to the shuttle driver, Enrique, who drove us directly to the restaurant we chose because it was so bitterly cold out and insisted he pick us up there as well. The complimentary breakfast was typical but varied and plentiful and the staff in the breakfast room worked hard to keep everything stocked and clean. They had some earplugs available with a note saying they know it can get a little noisy because they are near the hospitals but I didn't need them and I'm a very light sleeper. The parking is free. CONS: They are in an area that is not near a Tstop but as I said, the shuttle worked very well for our needs. The only other negative was the parking. It's behind the hotel, far from the sight of the front desk and in a somewhat seedy looking area. There is no easy way to get from the parking lot to the front door of the hotel. Our car came through unscathed!

« Great place to stay »

This turned out to be a great hotel for us. Although I was travelling on business, my husband and children accompanied me. They have spacious rooms, excellent breakfast and above all, happy, friendly and super helpful staff. I was so happy to see them going out of the way to help each and everyone of us. Check in and check out was smooth and housekeeping was extremely helpful in thorough cleaning since my kids made mess. I would be going back soon.

    3
« A bit less than the average, but with an awesome crew! »

I've been there during 5 nights. They have an awesome crew in front desk. They are always gentle, friendly and willing to help. In the other hand, the hotel is quite old, the air conditioning (when it works), is really noisy - like an old truck! In addition, the amount of dust it releases in the air is incredible. The breakfast is interesting but, excepting the variation between bacon and turkey hamb, it was exactly the same all the week long. Also, as it is located in an industrial area, there is a lot of noise (in addition to the air conditioning), so as, the hotel itself gives you a complimentary ear plug to cancel the noise.

    « Awesome »

It is impossible to get a decent room with a great price these days. The hotel is clean, full of friendly staff and great manager. I could see him training with the staff as he had just joined. He mentioned it to me during our conversation at the breakfast area. Breakfast is superb and staff extremely pleasant. The maids were smiling making us comfortable. Hotel has security which makes us feel good. The rooms are big and clean. Enjoy your stay

    « Great Customer Service »

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed especially if you're looking for great customer service. Staff was great! The shuttle service provided was excellent and the drivers were punctual and very courteous. Front-desk staff and security were welcoming and very thoughtful. The hotel furnished a home-like atmosphere for me and my family. They were especially emphatic toward my Daughter who had surgery at the Boston's Children's Hospital.

    « Dodgy neighborhood »

The hotel is fine, but the neighborhood is not the best. The staff is friendly, and the service is great. The rooms are huge. But it is located in an industrial area with lots of odd people hanging out in the streets.

« Exceptional especially for a long stay due to medical visit in Boston »

Highly recommend for those needing an extended stay for a family member requiring medical treatment in Boston. At half the price of most other "suite" hotels it is a great value, and convenient to Brigham Hospital. Quality staff. Walk across the street to a small take out diner for great meals at a fraction of the price you'd pay in nearly all hotel restaurants. Your first impression might not be the best, an actual round building from the 1950s, but when saving a hundred dollars a night compared to other nearby hotels. . .well you balance looks versus savings. The fees that can eat you up in most urban hotels: parking, internet, and such are free at this hotel. They have very visible 24/7 security in the front lobby to keep an eye on your car (having once been vandalized in the parking garage of a far more upscale hotel I appreciated the security) There shuttle service is good, except for late at night, and a special compliment to one of their drivers Pablo who went out of his way to be helpful to us. Only drawback, there is a major EMT facility a block away so sirens are part of life. . .if you are use to urban noise it isn't a bother, but some might find it troubling (the hotel does provide earplugs!) In closing it "ain't fancy" but that is off set by a high quality staff, convenience to Brigham Hospital, and that really great diner across the street..

    « Super-friendly staff!! »

Upon check-in the women at reception were extremely warm and welcoming! Very genuinely interested in making my sister and I feel welcome. The room was perfect and we appreciate the water and coffee for us. Our beds were extremely comfortable. Once again, the staff at reception during check-out in the morning (they were two different women from the day before) were so nice and appreciative. I work at a 5 star resort and I can certainly say we experienced a high standard of service here, and we look forward to staying in the future. Thank you all so much!!!

« better customer service please. »

So the previous reviews about the hotel being in a dodgy area were concerning- we didn't really know what to expect as we were gonna spend new years in the city. however when we reached the hotel it was actually better than we expected. the parking was convenient, the check in was relatively straight forward (well, the lady could have been friendlier). After unpacking everything, we discovered that the sofa bed was missing its mattress. my partner went down to the reception- and this was where customer service was at its lowest standard. receptionist acting frustrated and rolling their eyes wasn't exactly what we wanted to experience after an 8hour drive to boston. the bell boy helped us to move to another room after we requested for it- seeing that they couldn't even sort out a missing mattress. again, a smile wouldn't hurt. on the 3rd day, when we arrived back at the hotel late, we were told to evacuate our room due to electrical issue. and after settling in the room, we found out that there was no hot water at all. in the corridor we heard that everyone was having the same issue- fire dept forgetting to turn it back on after fixing whatever the issue was earlier in the day. the lady walked off without telling us how long it's gonna take etc or what to expect. again, zero customer service. check out day- 2 people at the reception insisted that we hadn't paid for our room (which we did at check-in). of course we were right, we knew that our card's being charged. really, if all this was done with some courtesy or smiles or just less attitude... i would've been more than okay with our stay.

Stopped at this hotel during our hardest time, with frequent visits to the hospital. Amenities and breakfast are very good. But the best part was the great people working there. « A great place to stay at »

If you travel to Boston and do not want to overpay for your hotel, I highly recommend to book a room in this roundhouse. It's located next to the center (nice area) of Boston, so it will not take you much time to get to the city's downtown or the Freedom Trail. The service overall was very "high-quality" for the price range.

    « overnight business trip »

Warm cookies in the lobby on arrival, the BEST breakfast I've ever seen laid out at a hotel. Room is satisfactory for stay. Shower pressure was great!! Free wifi was nice feature. The only odd thing was the heat was off in the room. It is January and we just assumed heat would be on but got quite chilly in the night. Heat worked fine in the morning when we realized we needed to turn it on. There were no extra blankets in the room.

« Fair enough if you have a car »

First of all, this hotel is not downtown and therefor less expensive. Our suite had a nice expanse, divided in two rooms. A microwave oven and a coffee machine allow longer stays. Not far from the hotel is a hospital with some ambulances starting and running in. However, the hotel offers you ear plugs. The breakfast presents a nice selection, though the excess of plastic might be shocking to Europeans. Only two real downsides: no ventilation in our windowless bathroom and a weak WIFI. All in all a clean, considerable hotel with kind staff for those who visit Boston by car.

    5
    « BEST Best Western »

Our stay at the Best Western Plus Roundhouse was incredible: the staff went out of their way to be helpful; the room was big with a living room and a bedroom, as well as two televisions with up to 70 channels; the complimentary shuttle to the subway stops was convenient; the breakfast was excellent and there was usually fruit available in the lobby - they even baked cookies for us! The wifi only really worked in the lobby and in the computer room, but we didn't use it that much anyway. Overall, highly recommended!

« Great service and spacious rooms »

My boyfriend and I visited Boston and stayed here for one night. We had two dogs with us and it was never felt like it was an issue for the hotel service. The employees were very kind and showed some enthusiasm toward our doggies. The room we had was on the second flour, room 206. It was facing a building so we did not have traffic noise. We were prepared to use the earplugs they provide since all the reviews we've read mentioned the sirens. But we did not use them and slept very well. I enjoyed the fact that the bedroom was separated from the living room with doors. I also enjoyed having a fridge and two tvs felt like luxury ;). The rooms were clean, nothing fancy but perfect for what we needed. I would definitely stay here again - the price is right and was able to walk downtown to save the parking fees.

    « Comfortable stay »

Our family stayed here during our first visit to Boston.Despite doing research,I was surprised at the location. It is situated in an industrial area and a long walk from the places to see. However, the hotel does provide a shuttle to a few central locations. We did also have the bad experience when the shuttle did not arrive as per schedule and when we called we were informed ,it had broken down.An alternative arrangement should have been made.We had a family room which was spacious and comfortable with a huge flat screen tv,microwave, coffee maker and kitchen basin. The bathroom had a shower in the bath and a big vanity outside the bathroom. The room as well as the rest of the hotel is very clean but the decor is extremely tired and old.Free wifi.We were surprised with the breakfast as everything is self servicewith plastic cutlery and plates. There are hotpots for tea and coffee, youghurt, fruit, cereal, bread, croissant, bagel, boiled eggs and prepared omelettes and you make your own waffles.Having said this,we did not miss anything.Staff in the breakfast room are helpful and polite. There is also 24 hour complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the foyer. If you are on a budget ,its a good stay but definitely not luxurious.

    « Excellent value »

very nice room at hotel in "iffy" neighborhood. Free parking and an excellent b'fast were real positive features however. Although it was near a noisy intersection, I did not have to use the earplugs they thoughtfully provided. It was not close to the usual tourist attractions but I would suggest leaving your car in their lot and using a taxi/uber to get to those places (about $10) would save you a lot of money compared to downtown Boston parking rates plus the aggravation of traffic and confusion of a city that is not laid out in a neat grid like Manhatten. The hotel also has a van to drop you off a T stops if you want to use the T to get around.

« clean stay in Boston 1860 historic gas building recently converted to lodging »

Not the best location for overall downtown tourism and restuarants, but the free shuttle to one of the main Bus/train convergences in all of town, was also a place you could take off from for the freedom trail, hop on buses, and the like, so made for a suitable, affordable place. We stayed here because it was also within a 10 minute ride ($14cab) to the Cruise ship Doc where we left with Holland America after 3 nights at the Roundhouse. Wanted fall colors in Boston so caught the last 2 days of September but they said colors were 2 weeks behind. great variety for the free breakfast with PLENTY of helpful staff running the basement affair. First visit the eve before to see the room however almost had us not going back, as the basement smelled of sewer. They just had 5 inches of rain however and by morning all seemed okay. Industrial/hospital/firehouse district with homeless facility nearby. Victorias Iconic restuarant since 1946 was charming about 3 block walk away, but walk on the Firehouse side of the road, as trailer rental place was a little scary with homeless popping out on sidewalks after dark. There is a McD across the street, but mac/cheese and Lobster at Victorias much better choice. They fully understand siren district as each room has ear plugs that by the way, REALLY did work. Didnt even hear them in background once I fell asleep with them in. Saved about $150-200 a night here (but still $230-250 a night) versus 10 minutes closer in to downtown so added up for 3 nights. Cab easy to get through the front desk. VERY unique shape to the rooms with irregular walls to fit the suite and bedroom areas in a somewhat pie shape. We liked it!

The hotel was in a busy intersection with lots of noise. The location was good. Gas station and McDonalds across the street. The rooms were clean and every thing was in good working order. I booked two rooms and our entire family spent two nights and three days at this Hotel. We loved the breakfast, plenty to eat and the food was fresh and nice. Only issue we experienced was some guest in our floor was smoking marijuana. I did mentioned it to the front desk, but no solution. I wished room service gave us some extra room deodorizers. Old historic building renovated for a hotel. It needs some cosmetic work. Public areas are very small.

    « Great hotel »

Excellent hotel in a not so good neighborhood. If it wasn't from my boyfriend, I would have been scared of being out after 9PM. It looks like there's tons of junkies and not so recommendable people. The hotel is awesome though. Great staff and tons of big smiles all the way through our stay.

    « Great staff and nice hot5 »

The room was exactly as pictured and very clean. The parking situation was a little disappointing. I figured it was a garage attached to the hotel, but it was a very small open lot. The continental breakfast was a full spread of almost any breakfast food you could imagine. The breakfast staff was fantastic too. They showed us to a table large enough for our whole group, offered us second helpings of things as they were cleaning up (we came toward the very end of breakfast). They even cleared our table for us when we finished and asked where the trash barrels were. The staff in the lobby were also very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood didn't look like the best, but the hotel was great and made us feel very safe and comfortable.

I stayed here for 4 nights as I had NHL Tickets for two Bruins games. Hotel was excellent, really comfy suite. WiFi was terrific, and breakfast service excellent. Shuttle service will drop you to the T station, and Pablo the driver was so very helpful and really went out of his way to assist. Devon the hotel ambassador was lovely, and the reception staff were all very helpful. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Boston.

« Good hotel, bad location »

Arrived mid afternoon and parked in the hotel car park where there was ample space. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was tidy and clean as was the bathroom with the usual soaps and towels provided. The room although as expected, had the addition of free ear plugs. Worrying. To one side of the hotel is an industrial estate, the other a major road junction feeding the interstate. A hospital and fire station, also within a few hundred yards, provide background noise of sirens day and night. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus to the local T stops between 7am & 10pm but feel the schedule could be improved to increase the number of journeys.

« OK Hotel in a poor area »

This hotel is fine but the area is very questionable. You would not walk around at night and there are no decent restaurants in the area. The area did not feel safe. They do provide a shuttle to the subway which is very helpful. Rooms are noisy in that it is an industrial area near a hospital with trucks and ambulances.

« Moderate hotel in a remote Bostonian area. »

Hotel itself is OK but just that. Breakfast a little bit one-sided and Wifi not so reliable. Rather far from railway and bus lines going downtown. The neighborhood itself is dull. Not the most expensive Bostonian hotel, but one can easily imagine why...

    « Best Western's Raising the Bar »

Premier hotels from Best Western are as good as any of the higher priced Inns and this one in Boston was exceptional. Best free breakfast of any of the dozen places I've been to in the past few months. Not the quietest location but, than again, it's in the city of Boston. I have recently stayed at a total of three BW Premiers and found this one to be even better than the others. All were terrific, by the way.

« Hotel was nicer than I expected. Please note location is out of downtown area »

We stayed here and was pleasantly surprised by the size of our room. It was a true 2 room suite. While the location was NOT downtown, they did provide free shuttle service to the downtown area and the drivers were very helpful. The free breakfast and wifi were a nice touch. For folks that need to watch their dollars - this would be a good choice. Please note - no close by restaurants other than a pizza place, so eat downtown before you return to your room.

« Good hotel, bad location »

Hotel was clean and well-maintained. The staff were courteous. Nice perks include a good breakfast and free WiFi. Downside is the location. It is in south Boston, near the Boston Medical Center. A lot of homeless people walking around the hotel, and a lot of ambulance traffic.

    « INACCURACY OF BILLING »

I was overcharged and the hotel did not display enough transparency to resolve my query. They did not show concern or follow up. they never took permission to authorize any payment and double charged on two occasions.

    « Broken down hotel & services »

Poor Shuttle service schedule made me late to all my morning appointments. Broken down sofa and bed furniture in room very uncomfortable. Poor breakfast buffet served awful hot food and the rest was a diabetic's nightmare.

« Nice well appointed rooms, friendly staff »

I have read many previous reviews of this property and agree with many of them. These rooms are comfortable with a small sitting area and refrigerator. The staff goes out of its way to be helpful, including Enrique who shuttled us to the subway station regularly! The hotel is located close to hospitals, so sirens can be heard, but I did not feel my sleep was disturbed. The local is not the best, but with some common sense, the environment would not put me off staying again.

« Just what we needed »

Spacious room 5 min walk from the BU medical center for extended 5-night visit. Great staff, amazing breakfast. Room had mini-fridge and microwave which were critical for us. Comfy beds, wifi, tv all worked great. On 5th floor we were able to adjust right away to the industrial truck noise -- we just told ourselves it meant the economy was thriving. Folks on 1st floor say noise was unbearable and moved out. Again, staff very friendly, accommodating, kind.

    « Nightmare »

The noise level outside this hotel is deafening due to traffic and construction. It was almost impossible to get a good night's sleep. I should have known since ear plugs were provided on the night stand. The location of the hotel is in a neighborhood with a large homeless population. Since the parking lot is unsecured, it was impossible to avoid being harassed by groups of homeless aggressively asking for money. My suggestion is to spend a little more money for a hotel in a quieter and safer location.

    « AMAZING STAFF »

Even though i was located in the lower level of the hotel ( 1st floor ) i can say i had an amazing night. Staff in General always with a smile. Great breakfast & front desk always said hi and bye. Took the shuttle & went around the city. Good food across the hotel & McDonald is open 24 hours. Rooms are big compared to other hotels i've stayed in and i love the fact that its really close to the city & highway. They had schedule me for a taxi to go to the airport and they set a wake up call. RECOMMENDED FOR EVERYONE! really pleased! :)

    « OK Hotel »

Got what I paid for, but just barely. Not all bad, but some glaring faults. Will avoid this hotel if possible in future. Perhaps a lower price or more amenities would help sell this place to customers.

    « Nice rooms »

The rooms are fabulous. It is in an industrial area so there is lots of noise. There is a great pizza place and McDonald's across the street. It is a bit far from the subway. The hotel provides a shuttle to the subway, but the shuttle didn't come pick us up when it was scheduled. I called the hotel & they said that the shuttle broke down and we had to call a taxi. Very disappointing since I picked the hotel for the price & the shuttle.

    « Great Place »

The folks at the Best Western Roundhouse take exceptionally good care of you and pride in making sure your stay is as pleasant as it can possibly be. The breakfast staff can't do enough to assure that everything is in great supply, ready to go, fully serviceable, and meets your needs and expectations. Just a great place to stay!

    « Very pleasant stay »

Hotel was very clean and well cared for. Shuttle service is a definite plus. McDonalds and Grille directly across the street. Convenience store next door. Target/Old Navy/Olive Garden, etc 1 mile away. Hotel is located next to construction yard but did not bother us. Busy traffic area so busy noises..again did not bother us at all. Only negative was homeless people gather near convenience store. We were never approached nor bothered by them but a little unnerving. Rate per night was absolutely absurd. In the past the rate was reasonable at approx. $129 per night, this trip $252 and $264 a night! Are you kidding? If it was not necessary to be here for medical purposes, we would have stayed home. Will certainly stay here again as we continue to travel for medical reasons.

« Stay at Roundhouse suites »

Stayed at this hotel for 13 days, was a bit nervous having read some of the reviews. However I can honestly say I had no issues, the staff were fantastic and could not have done anymore, the rooms were clean the shuttle bus service is a big plus. No issues noise or the homeless who although were across the road did not bother us as has a constant security presence.

« Loud and in need of updates »

Hotel is in need of updates and room was quite musty. Street noise made for a terrible sleeping experience. In room internet would come and go and would not work the majority of the time while in the room. The wifi would only produce 1 to 2 bars at best.

    « Staff is great »

Although the location is a bit noisy, the staff makes up for it. Everyone was friendly helpful and goes beyond for you. Breakfast was warm and fresh each morning. Easy to use shuttle to get into downtown area and the sites. Shuttle driver was great too.

    « RoundHouse Stay »

The RoundHouse Stay was exceptional. The staff was very courteous and professional. We were particularly impressed with "Alexander" the Assistant Manager. He answered all our questions surrounding the area of the hotel. Our room was very comfortable. Boston is a busy city but we enjoyed our stay and will most likely return to the hotel when we return to Boston.

    « First Boston Stay »

Always heard about South Boston....rough and tumble? Our stay was anything but. The staff was accommodating, friendly, and always ready to listen. Room was clean, roomy and pleasant. Transportation was available and timely. And to top it off there were cookies and snacks for Sunday football in the lounge. Thanks South Boston!

    « Just. Okay. »

Staff were fab. Room was fine. Clean and comfortable but a bit noisy. Lots of sirens! There were a lot of homeless people laying around in the street which we did get used to. They never actually bothered us but I did find it a bit intimidating having to "run the gauntlet" to get passed them. Shuttle bus to the local T stations was great BUT shame they were so few and far between. Would I stay again? Maybe.

    « Excellent staff...extremely helpful...great hotel! »

I found the Best Western Roundhouse hotel very easy to access off Route 93 and recognized the round, brick structure immediately. The parking is convenient and the staff is very helpful and courteous. Upon our arrival, the Assistant General Manager, Alexander Thompson, happened to be in the lobby. He could not have been more gracious, pointing out some of the amenities such as the breakfast room and available beverages for guests (which are in the lobby when the breakfast room closes); he also provided us with a schedule for the shuttle transportation which brought us downtown. The suite was clean and comfortable; I particularly liked the french doors separating the bedroom from the sitting room where a microwave and refrigerator are available. I was able to rise early and to close the doors so that my husband was able to sleep in while I watched the news and had coffee. The shuttle service took us to Back Bay Station and we were able to walk to Newbury Street, the Boston Commons, etc. When we were leaving, Carlos (security) noticed that our tire was flat, so we pulled back into the parking lot trying to decide what to do. Before we knew it, Mr Thompson and Carlos were back and Carlos offered to change our tire! Service beyond compare!

    « The Staff! »

This is a bit of an old hotel in a really rundown neighborhood, but I still had an excellent stay here. Why? The employees. Everyone was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The desk clerks took excellent care of me when I had questions about Boston, when I needed directions or advice on various aspects of my visit. The breakfast that was provided was basic but good and the staff kept everything immaculately clean and well stocked while also providing a friendly and homey environment in the breakfast room. The shuttle drivers knew the neighborhood, gave great directions and were friendly and respectful.

    « Excellent Best Western »

The Best Western Roundhouse accommodations were excellent and a better price than other hotels near downtown Boston. The free Breakfast each morning was more than we anticipated with sausage, two kinds of eggs, waffles, potatoes, fruit, cereal, sweet rolls, bagels, toast, coffee, juice, etc., and the serving staff were excellent. The hotel was helpful with transportation to the Old Town Hop On Hop Off Trolley for sightseeing. Right across the street from the hotel is New Market Pizza & Grill where we had the best cod fish (on menu as Fish & Chips) we have ever tasted, and best clam chowder at Victoria's a few blocks down the street.

« Basic dated hotel in an awful location »

We stayed in this hotel for a number of days in June and I have to say we were very disappointed. To start of the staff at the hotel were ok they weren't very knowledgeable when it came to recommendations for places to eat for dinner, places to see things to do etc. However when it came to checking in etc. they were reasonable pleasant and kind. The rooms in this hotel and the hotel in general was very dated and run down. The rooms were old and the beds not that comfortable. Now moving on to the hotel location its awful. It's in the middle of an industrial type are so there is basically nothing around. The hotel provide a shuttle bus service to nearby train/metro stations which does make up slightly for the location. However this didn't make up for the slight uneasy feeling I got from the area being unsafe. I wouldn't really recommend staying in this hotel and if you can afford to you should stay in a better hotel in a better location.

Without exception all of the employees are top notch. There are few places you can stay that make you feel like family but they do! Make your reservation early as this Is a popular hotel and fills up quickly.

« Room was excellent, location not so much. »

If you can get past the location this hotel is a nice find. The room was spacious, the internet was fast and the staff is very helpful. The hotel is located only 2 blocks away from Boston Medical Center, however, it is a very sketchy 2 blocks.
