« Great hotel for business trip »

Stayed here twice in October for business. Hotel was great, room was comfy and bed super comfy. Eat in the restaurant on second visit, really great meal, not typical hotel food. Will stay again in November. Good value for a high quality Berlin hotel. Access is great as you can step of the U-Bahn right next to hotel. Would be great for city break too, although not right in centre.

    « excellent hotel »

very good hotel, the staff is very kind and the rooms are big and clean! we like it, and we will come back there. location is a bit far away from the central of the city, but it was great for us. there are big shopping centers around the hotel, really nearby u-bahn and s-bahn stations. recommended!

« Comfortable, clean and central »

Very comfortable and clean with easy access to all parts of Berlin. Great shower room and loads of hanging space. The room was at the back of the hotel so nice and quiet. Very helpful and friendly staff.

« Surprisingly quiet and clean (if a bit impersonal) business hotel »

Given the hotel's location at a large crossing, between a U-Bahn and an S-Bahn station, I wasn't expecting much in terms of coziness or quietness. I was in for a surprise, however. The hotel's 4 floors are located around a generous inner courtyard, and around 2/3 of the rooms face it (as the hotel borders to two adjacent buildings, it only has 2 sides facing the street but 4 sides towards the courtyard). I cannot comment on the rooms facing the street, but the one towards the inner yard was really quiet, no noise whatsoever from the busy streets outside. Moreover, there was none of the typical hotel noise. In particular, the self-closing doors do so quietly, without waking up half of the floor around them as often encountered. The hotel has an 80s optical touch to it and no personal touch, I wouldn't recommend it for your honeymoon. The room, however, was exceptionally clean, bathroom and towels as well. The strong yet comfy mattress had me sleep very well. Overall, perfectly suited for a business trip. Breakfast was not included and I didn't buy it for 14€, good coffee and breakfast across the street. Kind and helpful staff.

    « total recommendation! »

I was total pleased with my stay in this hotel. Fast and easy check in. Spacious and spotless clean room. Very comfortable bed. Huge breakfast selection, not possible to try all. Easy to go in the centre via bus (1 goes to Alexanderplatz and another directly to the central station), needs around 40 min but it's cheap and you see lots of the city.

« AWAY FROM THE TOURIST CROWDS »

This hotel was recommended to us by a family member. We are quite happy with it. Close to public transportation. The room and bed were very good, as was the bathroom. Not a bad price either. A nice bar and restaurant on the first floor as well. Recommended.

« 4 stars, really? BW Plus, really? »

Not all bad. Good location, close to U and S Bahn, a supermarket next door. Had a junior suite, spacious, clean. Good personnel at the reception, friendly and willing to help, very professional. The reception is dated but nice and cool, proper air con there. Common area clean and spacious. Restaurant has a dated decor but clean and well maintained. Restrooms clean and do not smell. The bad: Internet free but you lose comm every 2 minutes, if you are lucky, usually every 30 secs. I would prefer to pay and get a good service. No air con in a 4 star-hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes you can open the window but the noise from the intersection is 24/7!!! Oh, they have some air con rooms at 5 Euro extra... But fully booked. My mistake, should have told my travel agent. (Called them and they were speechless, but could not get me an a/c room in the end. When fully booked, fully booked,) Charge 5 euro all the way and get them all air con!!!! I checked on the plate outside, and 4 stars means First Class... 5 stars would be Luxury. That wasn't 1st class. Decor very 80's, no face cloth - I know it is Europe, but 4 star, and a name like BW - no a/c, etc... Breakfast not included and cost 14 euros... For that amount, I can eat like a king across the street for dinner! Go to Cafe Balsac close by and enjoy a proper latte... The restaurant at night... Well our waiter had the personality of... Well better not say. We were in a rush and decided to try it instead of going out. Food was good, liver was rare as requested and the veal escalope was tender. Don't ask for the wine by the half litre. Either they cook it for hours or they store it over the roof in full sun... Hot and oxidised... Have a beer instead. Summary, great personnel, charming and helpful (except for the waiter), clean facilities and well maintained, but not a 4 star-hotel and not good value for money.

    « Excellent for a conference »

We came for a conference and the details were handled perfectly. The only problem we had was that there was a heat wave and not all rooms had AC, which got pretty uncomfortable for some attendees for two the 5 nights. The conference fee included room rental and an excellent and extensive buffet lunch and morning and afternoon coffee, tea, soft drinks and lovely snacks. The staff was consistently helpful and pleasant. The rate was far less than other comparable hotels and since it is right on the underground line it was very easy to get to the middle of town. It is also kitty corner from a large shopping center that had, among many shops, a very good food court. In all it was an affordable venue and we would certainly be happy to return.

    « Very nice hotel »

at 82 Euro a night without breakfast its not the cheapest in Berlin for sure. But the staff is very nice. The conference areas are very large. They provide full service conference settings. Again the price for good and drinks is a little more than a normal place but they do not have the volume of customers a normal place would. I felt very safe and the internet worked well. I did not eat breakfast because 6 meters from the Hotel there is bakery with full breakfast. It has full public transport there with the U9 less than 100 meters away.

« Once in a lifetime trip ruined »

I will try to be objective after having one of the worst hotel experiences ever. We came to Berlin for my son's academic competition and chose this hotel for it's proximity to the competition as well as amenities like free wi-fi. Our first night was terrible as the hotel was hosting a "medical symposium" in the conference room directly below us and we experienced noise from very loud booming music and loud DJs in our room all night. We honestly thought it was a nightclub or a prom it was so loud. The night manager did nothing to help besides make excuses that the hotel was fully booked and there was nowhere to move us. He claimed that he asked the event to turn down the music, but there was no difference. This is definitely not what we needed the night of my son's competition. We were promised the music would stop by midnight, but it was still going until we became extremely irate and the night manager had them turn it off at approximately 1am. At a minimum, I expected the hotel to refund us for the night, but they offered a paltry 10% discount for our trouble and said that they normally wouldn't have put us into those rooms had they have known the "medical symposium" would have had such loud music. They claimed over and over again this was not their fault though I don't think it would have been unreasonable to have the "medical symposium" turn off their music after a reasonable hour like 10pm or even pay to temporarily move us to another property so we could get some sleep. This was a once-in-a-lifetime event for my son that was essentially ruined because they next day he was tired, upset, and exhausted from the night before so he could not perform his best. Other thoughts, the breakfast is OK, but very overpriced - if it's not included in the price of your room, you should have breakfast at one of the many nearby restaurants and cafes. The rooms were large and clean, but a little dated. The bed and pillows were not comfortable and typical of what you would find in a 2-star property. The wi-fi was fast and reliable - among the best wi-fi at any hotel I've stayed. The location was very convenient near the U and S-bahn stops at Rathaus Steglitz.

« very hospitable, comfortable and excellent location »

The two night stay in a hotel suite was extremely comfortable and relaxing. The room was in a great condition and very tidy. Breakfast costs 14 Euros and is rich and diverse. The hotel is in a great position if your business is in the south of Berlin but is in between S- and U- Bahn stations that brings you anywhere you need. Plenty of shopping and food in area. Externally the area looks a bit run down but inside hotel the atmosphere is cosy and comfortable. I highly recommend.

« Excellent value and good location »

The property is a short walk to the S-bahn station, restaurants, car rental and shopping. Front desk staff fluent in English and very friendly. Room was clean and well appointed all for around 100 Euros per day.

    « Excellent value-for-money choice »

Including HiFi in the price, at a central point which offers a lot of public means of transporation, with a number of nice contemporary restorants and pizza is an excellent choice. Very friendly staff as well.

« Very good location, clean and comfort hotel »

The location of hotel is very good.5 minutes walk to metro station plenty of bars and fast foods are available around the hotel also hotel is located very close to shopping malls. our room was clean spacious and well designed for comfortable stay. The room and bathroom were very beautiful just like which they showed in the internet.breakfast was also good according to western taste.staff were helpful too.

    « Total disappointment »

We were in this hotel many times and always everything was fine. This time the stay was a nightmare. We got a room with beds for children - very tight and short and uncomfortable. No air conditioning, no minibar, no tea - just coffee. The staff was busy mainly wedding guests. A very big disappointment. The breakfast as always was good and the staff the day shift was normal. Probably we not come here anymore.

« Hotel you can enjoy for a business trip or vacation »

The hotel is nice with a big lobby and a full floor for conferences. In the lobby there's a small library where you can borrow (or donate) a book in various languages. Location is good - near a shopping mall and a subway station.

« Good hotel, not great, lacks a gym »

This hotel is acceptable. I would struggle to rate it as a four star as suggested. Rooms adequate, clean, amenities good. The lack of gym is a big problem to me. They say that you can use a local gym for 19 euros per day. That's ridiculously expensive and its 10 minutes up the road. I would not choose stay here again on my next business trip to Berlin

« Located in nice area, really good rooms, stuff, cleaning »

Hotel located in nice area. Near are many shopping places, Italian, Chinese, Japan eating places, cafes, ECO shop.Hotel stuff is very friendly. Easy to get to the city center by public transport Rooms are spacey and convinient

« Good price for value but nothing exciting »

A stop over with my family. The building seems to be from the communist time. Our room has a very decent size which can fit 1 baby cot, 1 sofa bed for my 2 years old son and 1 water bed for the parents. Our first time experience with this kind of bed and we were not used to. The breakfast was nice. There is a public car park near by and it was not expensive.

« Best kept secret in Berlin! »

Outstanding property! Well appointed rooms; superb and very friendly staff that provides guests myriad of help and ideas for leisure time. Excellent meals in restaurant. Public transportation at the front door - U-bahn, S-bahn, busses. Superb conference facilities. Great for either business or leisure travel.

« Good business stay hotel »

Stayed over five evenings earlier this month, and found the hotel to be clean, the rooms spacious and the staff courteous and helpful. The indoor smoking room on the first floor was certainly a bonus, as the weather was cold and damp throughout!!

    4
    « A good business-like hotel »

Large and confortable rooms, silent. Good bathroom, with all necessities. Breakfast is also very good. There is no view in the rooms (some interior space), and the whole hotel looks like an immense business hotel. Very good connections (U and S bahn, busses). The whole hotel is impersonal, very confortable and practical.

« Good hotel with helpful service »

This hotel is well positioned for public transport and taxi service. I stayed in a Junior Suite and although I had 2 single beds despite requesting a double for single use the room was fine. No bath but the shower was good. Breakfast service was excellent and room service was very good. Wifi is excellent and free. No A/C in my room but a fan was provided. The Cocktail bar on the first floor was great with very friendly bar staff and reasonable drink prices. My room looked out on a satellite dish and that was a little strange (room 285).

« Another good stay in Berlin »

There was my third stay in this hotel. Hotel is located near exit from expressway in Steglitz. Hotel offers very cheap parking - only 2,5 EUR per day, excellent breakfast and spacious rooms with minibar and a/c. Good wi-fi connection and helpful staff. Very close to U-Bahn and S-Bahn. Many shops in neighbourhood and shopping center.

    3
    « Above average »

The hotel is rather accessible (by public transportation) even as it is away from key attractions. Still, there are options nearby (i.e. cinema, malls, restaurants etc.) The room is big but there's no bath tub. AC can be/do better. Overall, it is good but one can easily find better options in Berlin.

    5
« Good location, Good Restaurant »

The location was in midst of shopping areas. Restaurants and shopping malls are within mere minutes of walking . The room was spacious, provided with comfy beds. There's even a bathtub in the toilet. The buffet in the restaurant was sumptuous. The receptionist had provided sufficient information about the nearby places.

    « Excellent stay »

Location i.t.o. transport with trains and taxis is excellent. Close by the Federal Institute (BAM) and easy access to the hotel. Perfect setting and comfortable stay with a clean room every day after hard day of work. Will recommend the hotel to anybody as the stay was perfect.
