« Well run hotel in pleasant suburb of Berlin »

Hotel with modern facilities and helpful staff a few minutes walk from a lovely old town, now part of the city of Berlin. Good access to public transport and has its own car-park. Very quiet at the rear, where the hotel is by the river with a path that one can walk and enjoy the peaceful view. A good hotel to escape the noise and bustle of a big city, but still be close by.

« Great hotel in a beautiful location »

A really nice and practical hotel in a stunning location. Rooms are clean and modern. Right across the river is the Koepenick Castle (shown in the picture attached). You can easily walk along the river bank and over the bridge to explore the old city. The buffet breakfast is great, lots of variety and very satisfying. A great place to stay in Berlin.

« Nice Hotel, Cool Location »

One of the things that made me book here was that it said it was located close to a castle. I was on a very long layover, so I knew I would have time to explore. When I asked about the castle after arriving, I was told it was a small castle. I would have been upset when I saw it if the area hadn't been so gorgeous. There's so much to see and appreciate! And all within walking distance. Leisurely, you can take 1-2 hours and see the whole area. It depends on how often you stop to take in the sights and appreciate mother nature plus German architecture. Upon my arrival to the hotel and fresh after paying €55 for my taxi, I asked about the airport shuttle service they had. He confirmed the price was also €55 (which confirmed the cab guys are honest). I asked if I could get back to Tegel via public transportation. He told me Berlin had two airports (a third is supposed to be coming "any day now", lol) and Tegel was the furtherest airport from the hotel, but yes, I could take public transportation back to the airport. It would cost me about €6 to do so. LOL Much different than what I paid to arrive. There was a restaurant and bar in the hotel, but I didn't take advantage of either. Having paid attention while en route to the hotel, I knew there was a grocery store about 12-15 minutes walking distance. After taking in the sights that evening, I walked back to the hotel and then past it, to go to the grocery store*. I picked up food, necessities, and of course, a bottle of my favorite white-- riesling, which is a German wine. I walked back to the hotel and prepared to make my dinner (via microwave), only to realize my spacious hotel room (for a European hotel) did not have a microwave. Tired and hungry, I went across the street to the pizza place and ordered a pizza (a little different than American pizza, but very tasty). The room itself was nice, has everything you need. After being in a hotel with very nice towels the night before, I noticed the towels here were very small. However, they're big enough to get the job done. When I left the next afternoon, I did indeed take public transportation back to the airport. The employee from the night before had printed out the instructions for me and I followed them the next day. I walked to the bus stop, took the bus near a train station, walked to the train station, took the train, got off, and then walked to the bus that goes to the airport. It wasn't a whole lot, but you do have to pay attention, so you don't miss anything. If I ever stayed here again, I would take public transportation both ways. *If you're standing in front of the hotel, look to your left. Walk to that light and walk across the street. Keep going straight (with the restaurants and bar on your right) and walk another 8-10 minutes to the grocery store. Pass the smaller and closer one near the bus stop. Go beyond the bus stop and into the big parking lot (which is for the grocery store).

    « Superb Location »

Rooms are nice, spacy and in very good shape. The staff is helpful, the breakfast-buffet is good and there is an adjacent italian restaurant serving good italian food. You may run into problems with the limited parking underneath the hotel, but you may just go next door to the parking of the Penta Hotel at € 8/night. But the big highlight of this hotel is its superb location on the waterfront right in front of the Köpenick Castle. There is a terrace outside to have breakfast on sunny days, absolutely magic! You are in walking distance to the lovely city of Köpenick, you have buses and tramways less than 200m away to get to the Berlin City within 45 minutes, and you have a boat-stop next to the castle to take a 3 hour ride across the waterways of Berlin.

    « Great place »

Everything was lovely. Room was clean and tidy - very little road noise as there was good double glazing. Staff were really helpful. Breakfast outside by the river was perfect. Lots of choice and plenty of seating. Hotel is outside of Berlin but it is easy enough to use the transport system to get into the centre. All in all this was excellent value for money and I would stay here again!

    « Perfect Stay »

We wanted to be away from city center and this hotel was just perfect. Just a 10 minute stroll from S-Bahn station in old city area. Spotless rooms with comfortable beds and great bathroom plus free Wifi with good connection. The staff were OUTSTANDING and gave us excellent information during our visit.

    « Clean rooms - Polite staff »

The hotel is far from city centre. Rooms are OK except for the shower. They still have cloth curtains for the shower, which gives -to me- a feeling of unclean, dirty. Reception is in desperate need of renovation. Wifi signal was excellent. I had a good sleep. Last, I found the staff quite attentive and helpful.

« Comfortable hotel but too far from Berlin city centre »

Best Western hotels offer reasonable too good quality hotels. All the facilities were there. Spacious room, comfortable beds and a big bathroom. Everything was really clean. Only thing that makes me not want recommend this hotel is the distance to Berlin city centre. There is a bus about 5 min away from the hotel, which will take you to a U-train station, from where you can travel further. Takes about an hour one way to get to the city. Berlin has so many hotels in the same price range as this one, that it's not worth travelling that far to see the city.

« Great hotel to avoid downtown area. »

We found easy access to anything we needed using our rental car. We wanted to be outside the hustle and bustle of downtown. This place did that well. Great bakery across the street for cheaper morning breakfast.

    « Business hotel »

Nice hotel..clean but very standard room. No glamour. Could use refit. Good parking garage. Bit tight, but closed during night. Restaurant closed, but enough and better alternatives in koepenick old center.

    « Nice location - unstylish rooms »

We came here as a little family (two adults and a kid) on a mixed 2 day business and vacation trip. We chose this hotel because of business in the nearby (10 min by car) Adlershof Science Center, and because at the time, it was the only decent hotel offering a two bed room with an extra bed. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. We had a very large room with a small bathroom and a small shower. To me, the room made a slightly frumpy impression. Furniture and decoration were in good state, but awkwardly outdated. The breakfast was good. The hotel is located directly at the water, opposite the castle, and I'm sure in warmer seasons breakfast on the terrace could be very nice. Parking in the garage of the hotel was 10 Euros per night and WiFi was sufficiently fast and easily accessible. The price for room and breakfast was appropriate.

« Good for the most part, but out of the way »

A friend and I stayed at this hotel while on a girls' weekend in Berlin. We decided to stay out of the city center so we could relax a little and get some sleep. This hotel is definitely in a quiet area, but does take some work on the trams and trains to get to the main section of Berlin. We arrived a bit early for check-in. The lady at the desk was nice and helped us store our bags so we could go explore without being weighed down. When we returned, the woman at the counter was actually pretty rude to my friend until my friend spoke German to her. Reading one of the other reviews, I have a feeling that we found the rude one. We paid extra to upgrade to a "view room" which was on the top floor. Although I didn't think we had much of a view, it was nice to have a quiet room. We ended up with the two beds pushed together set-up, which was fine for me and my friend. We just picked sides. The room also contained a desk and chair; and the bathroom was clean (even if the countertop was pink). The shower worked well and had great water pressure. The room itself was clean and we both slept well for the one night we were there. Wifi worked very well. The river looked like it would be very inviting, but as it rained pretty hard while we were there, we didn't explore the outside of the hotel too much. It seemed like a fairly average hotel, which is what we were expecting. Because of the location, I don't know if I would return though...

« Nice price, good value »

During a business trip in Berlin, we stayed at the Best Western Koepenick for two nights. We arrived by car and appreciated parking in the garage. The small reception area is welcoming and staff is very friendly. You receive a welcome drink upon arrival and check-in is easy. My room was on the first floor with a view to the river Dahme. But also viewing the parking lot. Since I wasn't facing the street, I thought my room would be quiet. But the staff was continuously sitting out back, smoking and talking quite loud on the phone. I thought that was quite annoying. Otherwise, the room has a nice size. It was clean, modern and practical. The bed had two different pillows to choose from and was quite comfortable. Towels and amenities in the bathroom were fine. Shower pressure could have been stronger. Free Wi-Fi much appreciated. Breakfast was perfect with a good variety. We had dinner the restaurant Amarillo next to the hotel. Note sure if it belongs to the hotel. Service was excellent but food was a real let down. We ate nearby on the second night. The check-out was as easy as check-in. Overall a good stay in Berlin in a nice area. Great for business but not ideal if you want to do sightseeing.

« Good price. One very rude staff member »

The price and location of this hotel were good and we did a mixture of shopping and eating in both Kopenick and central Berlin. The train station is 5 mins in the bus or 20 minute walk. We were very unhappy about the receptionist who checked us in. Right from the start she was rude and condescending. I have been a reception duty manager of a 5 star London hotel for a few years now and I know how a guest should be treated on arrival. I asked a simple question about the car park as there was no clear signage. She spoke to me as if I was stupid. I then queried about breakfast which I thought was included but it turned out not to be, fine my mistake but I asked politely and she shot me down immediately! I have never experienced a stranger speak to me like this from the moment we have met. On the plus side we did not see her after that and the rest of the staff were courteous and friendly. So it clearly is not a cultural thing, just bad attitude. The room was spacious and quiet and bathroom was lovely. Floor needed hoovering round the bed though. If you want a meal out in Kopenick go to the Ratskeller in the cellar of the town hall, it's perfect.

« Nothing surprising in this little chain »

On the river with a good local area around it sits this hotel one of the cheapest in the location. The rooms are standard chain but with no airconditioning it is hot, hot, hot in summer. The window opens just a crack but a fan is provided to try and help you sleep. Breakfast is a strange Swedish concept that I have never actually seen eaten in Sweden, the usual range of smorgasboard items with hard boiled eggs. The addition of some Swedish meatballs I suspect allows them to call it Swedish but no Swede I saw ever had meatballs for breakfast. Making reservations really lets this place down, from the five of us that tried to book a room none got what they expected and booking for long periods was impossible. There is a underground garage you best be good at maneuvering cars in small areas but it is workable. Public transport is a little difficult but with some work (tram 60/61) you can get to a main station (Alderhof) which will take you either to city or to the local airport. The shuttle bus on offer at the reception with accompanying price list is about 15% more expensive than just catching a cab outside for the destinations we tried. Staff friendly, welcome drink on arrival and nothing really bad to say about this hotel, no surprises either good or really bad by my team.

    « OK nothing more »

We stayed here 1 night during our eurotrip. We chose this because it was good location cause we came with a car and didn't want to drive in to central Berlin and was driving east to Poland the day after. Some people in the staff spoke very bad english, they could have smiled or whatever a bit more. The room was ok for the money, clean and ok size. It took around 25-30 min with taxi to central Berlin, and we payed 40 euro to the town and 15 euro back 6 in the morning. Next day it was pretty easy to get out off the town and get on autobahn to Poland.
