    « Barstow night »

Travelling to visit family and wanted to get a head start in leaving LA , stopped in Barstow B/W to cut down travel time great place to stay did not even consider another brand of hotel Everything was has expected from B/W , which is why I stay there

    « So-so »

You know when they provide you with earplugs, that you're in for some noise. Such was the case. It wasn't dreadful, but it was there. The room I had was dark and OK, but not that inviting. The staff were nice enough, but not particularly polished.

« A great place to break the journey »

Stayed there several times; not plush but comfortable & supplies all you need at a good price. Good breakfast but don't expect it to be up to the standard of a high quality British B&B. The regular train movements might be a problem for some, especially if your room's that end of the site, but for us it wasn't a problem & if anything added to the interest of the occasion. We'd stay there again anytime without question. The air conditioning units are a bit noisy but it was cool enough during our stay for them to be switched off at bedtime.

« Perfect for our purposes »

This particular property location served our purposes very well for location. All of the staff, from check-in, to during our stay, to the breakfast staff were all very friendly, helpful, informative, and work hard.

    « Excellent location; a little noisy »

I needed a place to crash for the night as I headed though California headed east towards Arizona, and decided on Barstow. As it was rather late when I stopped, the Best Western was one of the few places in town that still had occupancy. I've always loved Best Westerns, and this one lived up to the chain's quality standards. New furniture, paint and fixtures all around and gracious staff. Now, the hotel did have one small problem, and that was its location wedged between I-40 and the railroad tracks across the street. Happily, though, the staff made sure that each room had complementary foam earplugs! Kudos, guys!

    « Good »

We were very comfortable in this hotel and found it was very clean . The room was pleasant but a little on the small side considering it was a suite but it was fine for us . Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend .

« Lovely hotel, helpful staff but slightly noisy room »

We stayed at the Barstow Best Western Desert Villa Inn for one night as part of our Route 66 adventure. The hotel was very popular with people on their adventures and had a large parking area, right off the main highway. Steven, the check-in clerk, was very helpful and suggested a number of places for dinner, and provided other useful information too. The room, 106, was sizeable and very comfortable for our short stay. The only downside was the noise from the trains which ran through the night. The railroad is just over East Main Street. We did note that the hotel provided earplugs in our room! Breakfast was in a nice area just off the lobby, with a great selection of hot and cold goodies.

    « Best Western Trip »

We had excellent rooms all the way from California to Texas. The staff is each of the hotels were very nice and directed us to eating places and stores that we needed to visit. All the rooms were very clean and there was no renovations going on and what they said was available at each facility was available. The grounds were also very clean and well maintained.

    5
    « great night »

This hotel stay was super. If you want a restful night and hot breakfast this is the place. The room was clean, comfortable and everything worked. The staff was great, the food was hot and always available even with a full room of guests. Freeway access was very easy and close.

    « Great hotel »

Stopped over in this hotel for one night. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great, large selection and very friendly staff. Close to a railway line and main road but noise wasn't a problem.

« BW Desert Villa Inn »

Really great hotel. Only spent one night but breakfast and service were excellent. Everything we needed was available. Have an ice machine which is great for adding ice to cooler. Close to places to eat and gas up before continuing your trip.

    « Very comfortable. »

We stopped at the Best Western on our way through travelling from Vegas to LA. We did not have a reservation. Check in was easy. The staff were very friendly. Room was a good size. We had a room with 2 queen beds. The only draw backs about the room were - the lighting in the room was poor, and the pillows were uncomfortable (this is a personal choice though). Breakfast was included in the rate and this was great. Overall a good stop. Would stay here again if returning to the area.

    3
    « fair accomodations »

CONS = Beds not very comfortable. Lots of noise from I-40 and RR tracks at night. PROS = nice staff, good free breakfast, clean room. It was late in the eve and I found this through my iPhone. Door on the room had a 1/4 inch gap which allowed allot of road noise in the room, making it hard to sleep. Bed seemed old too and worn-out.. Not very comfortable.

    3
    « Route 66 »

This hotel is ok. Dated. Smack dab between a freeway and train track it is surprisingly quiet in our room. This is not a BW plus. Employees were very helpful. Close to the rt 66 areaBarstow. We explored the railway museum(only open Friday, Sat, Sun) and the Harvey house. There is a special NASA Exhibit there for 6 months. Pretty cool.

    5
« Excellent quality with and extremely good restaurant »

The restaurant at this location is astounding. If you add an extra $10.00 to your room fee you get a $20.00 voucher for the restaurant, this is well worth it. The fitness room is small but well stocked with equipment that is fairly new and in good working order. The outdoor pool is very nice.

    4
    « Wonderful Staff »

The check in was pleasant. I was offered a 10% discount at three restaurants with my BW key. The room was nice and the bed comfortable. Only issue was hair on the shower walls. I like parking in front of my room.

« Best Western Desert Villa Inn, Barstow, CALIFORNIA »

Great place to stay, pleasant staff, very comfortable beds, very easy access off the interstate, nice pool area, restaurants and other services close by. Very motorcycle friendly and accommodating. I have stayed there many times and will definitely stay again. It was easy to make the reservation and quick, easy check out. There is a nice choice of a hot or cold breakfast with good coffee and other beverages if you prefer.

    « happy »

had been in Barstow many times but had never seen the best western prior to this, was surprised it looked so new. built in 1984. we were pleased with all aspects of this hotel and would stay again, the breakfast was good and we were taken care of very well.

« Good value and nice people »

The workers at this hotel were very pleasant and helpful, there breakfast was very good. Its a nice clean place. Can't go wrong w/this choice. We asked for a place to have dinner and they suggested a very nice place and we enjoyed it very much. Our stay was only one night but it was a good choice.

    « Friendly staff »

Hotel is very near the East Main st exit off I 40. Front desk staff very helpful and willing to provide directions to anything in town. Nice pool and good breakfast included in a very low price. Rooms are basic but clean and quiet.

« GO AHEAD, SPOIL ME »

Many of my travels to the Southwest from the San Francisco Bay Area are staged with a layover in Barstow, about as far as I want to drive in a single day, and it's perfectly situated on I-40, which most roadies know as "Route 66, the Mother Road". From the moment I walked in the lobby, I knew I was going to be taken care of, two people are on the desk, no waiting, thank you, and when that's done you might be asked if you need anything else, just ask. This is a large scale operation, over my several stays, I have always seen a well maintained property, it takes serious commitment by all staff to hold to that standard. Consequently I find myself relaxing, no matter how long the drive, in anticipation of my comfortable bed and a good night's rest. I've stayed in several of the rooms, all have been good experiences. I sleep soundly, maybe a locomotive pulling into town is not as disturbing to me, but if you are a light-sleeper, earplugs are provided for your use. With good reason breakfast the next morning is a big plus. The staff in the breakfast room are attentive to their guests, keeping the chafing dishes full, and when they're not doing refills, they are picking up behind you, wiping down the counters and tables continuously. You don't have to worry about cleanliness no matter how busy the room is. Personally I like to see someone is taking care of the breakfast room, the meal, etc., continuously, call me fussy, but food service is all about sanitation, right? No worries here. All of these are good reasons for me to feel this is a good fit, and yes, I am spoiled, good for you, BW Desert Villa Inn!

The hotel was clean and well presented. The hotel staff were friendly. I didn't have time to try the pool or excercise room. The only criticism is that the hotel is near to a train track which is used throughout the night so may disturb light sleepers Barstow is a railroad town and this hotel is directly across the highway from the railroad tracks. Railroad traffic is unceasing day and night. The hotel provides ear plugs and does everything they can to ameliorate the noise from the trains. But, Barstow is a railroad town, and sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. Breakfast was good. Check-in was friendly and efficient. Rooms were clean. We were tired and we were glad they were there.

« Enjoyable Night at the Best Western Desert Villa Inn »

We had a nice one night at the Best Western in Barstow. We had a very nice king size room with a comfortable bed, sitting area (couch, chair), and a nice coffee maker/microwave/refrigerator bar unit. We also had a good TV with lots of TV stations and good reception. Internet speed is good and free. There is a picture of Route 66 in the room and I thought it was a nice touch that the air conditioning unit was set to "66" degrees too. Just perfect for sleeping. Bathroom was fine. It had a separate room for the toilet/shower and the other area had the sink and closet area. We found the sleep quality peaceful and good. There is some trains nearby - but really did not even know they were there except for the fact that they leave some ear plugs in the room for use for the more sensitive guests. This is a nice touch. There is a swimming pool here that looked inviting, although since we arrived later, did not enjoy this time. Perhaps on a future stay. The continental breakfast is good with a variety of cold and hot items. For hot they had scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and make your own pancakes, etc. For cold, yogurt, boiled eggs, bakery items, juice, coffee, and so forth. So its a good way to start the day. It was also nice that the TV was set to the weather channel as there is some rain/thunderstorms moving through and it was good to see the weather map. Staff is delightful. The rates at this Best Western are very reasonable and value is high given the rate. Parking is free.

    « Wonderful place »

Everything here was better than expected....from the nicest desk clerks, clean spacious room, great outdoor pool, plenty of parking & great value. We stayed in one of their suites which had a bar sink next to refrigerator & the couch was very comfortable. Highly recommend this place.

    « Great Location »

I was traveling across California to Sedona, Barstow was my 1/2 point. This Best Western was right off the freeway. Food nearby, service nearby, easy parking, pool, free wi-fi, breakfast. Highly recommend staying here.

I was traveling with my mother who required extra help and everyone was very pleasant and willing to help in any way. The room was very nice, lots of room, and very clean. i would stay at best western again.

    « Mrs B. Donahue »

I stay at this Best Western in Barstow, CA every year for the past 4 years because of its proximity to the people I visit and the freeway. It provides breakfast which is okay for short periods of stay, about 2-4 nights. Compared to some Best Western Inns like the one in Clairmonte Mesa in San Diego, value for money, the Desert Inn in Barstow is great.

    5
    « great hotel in a so-so town »

great staff, great hotel, great room; a diamond in the rough. the room was updated, internet was fast and the television was great. The bathroom/toilet is a little bit small, but it is detached so it's not that big of a deal for me...i don't camp out in there :)

    5
    « Broke Down Car »

I booked 2 rooms for my stay as I was helping a friend whose car had broke down. I booked the rooms, my friend who arrived several hours before me had no trouble getting her room before I arrived which was nice since both rooms were in my name. The grounds were very clean, the rooms were really nice and clean and the staff were over the top nice, friendly and extremely helpful I would definitely stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend this location to anyone traveling to/thru Barstow, CA.

    5
    « no worrys »

Stayed here 3 nights most pleasant and helpful room clean comfortable. All queries regarding stay and sightseeing were handled very well Sudden change of planes no worries room cancelled and rebooked. most satisfied with all round aspects of our stay here

« Only Place to Stay in Barstow »

I was pleasantly surprised by this Best Western. They rooms are nicely updated. The beds are comfortable, and the shower was awesome. In fact, we are going to try to find that shower head for our home. People have complained about the trains, you could barely hear them, so this is a non-issue. The clerk was very friendly. Our room was quiet. When I travel through Barstow again, this will be the only place I would stay.

    5
« Excellent, very courtious people, very good Breakfast Bar! »

This was a very friendly hotel, the people very extremely helpful in what we needed to know , very clean rooms and a great breakfast bar!every one was really helpful in planning our trip to Santa Monica!

    5
    « Surprisingly Enjoyable »

The location is right off the highway so some light sleepers may need the ear plugs that were conveniently left on the night stand. However, I slept well. The bed was comfortable and the room was large. It had a microwave oven, refrigerator, table, chairs, sofa, good shower, even a wet bar and closet. The staff was welcoming and helpful with food recommendations and I found this hotel a great value.

    5
    « Good basic hotel »

The hotel had good internet and the AC was on when I entered the room. Nice that was on because of the heat. Staff was helpful and this was a good place to stay. Easy access to freeway and decent places to eat wthin walking, or a few minutes of driving.

    4
    « Positive »

Great little place and location. Amazing breakfast with great variety of fresh quality food. Rooms could use some updating but very clean otherwise. Now the staff is 5 star all the way around. Keep up the friendliness! Will definitely stay there again.

« Good BW in a dicey location »

This property is freeway/railroad adjacent, but, believe it or not, one pair of earplugs is provided for guests less dog-tired than us. Fairly close to a variety of dining options and a gas station, with easy freeway access. The fridge has a freezer, but there's no in-room safe. The breakfast is better than the Placerville, CA BW, not quite as good as the Tempe, AZ BW. The staff is friendly. We stayed there twice, going and coming, which obviously indicates that we were quite pleased with the place..

« Not My Cup of Tea »

When we rolled into the parking lot of the BW Desert Inn, the first thing I noticed was four or five construction type vehicles. Not a bad thing but an observation that the property caters to people who work outdoors. I was once one of those people. The next thing I noticed was a young male (late teens/early 20s) in a sleeveless undershirt riding a bicycle back and forth through parking area with a cell phone to his ear. He looked like he was casing the property. Maybe not but that's what came to mind at the time. Adding to that impression were signs posted that said "Not Responsible for personal injury, loss or damage to vehicle contents, etc". Another sign said something about 'cameras monitoring the property and if damage to property.....violators will be prosecuted' or something to that effect. Not exactly the warm and fuzzy reception one would hope for. Smoking rooms are available. Also not a bad thing if you're a smoker but if you're not and your room is adjacent to a room where smoked is permitted like ours was, the smoke drifted under the adjoining door into our room. Yuk! The room appeared to be clean. The mattress or mattress cover on my bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. The bathroom door squeaked loudly if moved a fraction of an inch so if you go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, your spouse/partner will undoubtedly share the experience. What's bothersome is a squeaky door is such an easy fix (LPS, WD40) yet it clearly has been ignored by housekeeping. The breakfast was fine. Standard BW stuff. Unfortunately, an OK breakfast isn't enough to bring me back to this property.

    3
    « Oh, the SMELL! »

I wouldn't recommend this place unless you have a love for trains and people coming in all hours of the night and early morning. The morning air is odiferous. It wasn't a good experience...Unless you need a place to crash, keep going down the road. #nevergothere

« 2016 UPDATE: Freshly Renovated and Now TOP NOTCH! »

I visited and reviewed the BW Desert Villa a year ago. I just returned 3 days ago and I am happy to report that the property is freshly renovated! The rooms now all feature clean, disinfected wrapped remote controls, brand new bathroom fixtures, new bedding, etc. Most importantly: better noise insulation! My room was A+ and quiet! Happy to return on my next tour!

    « They don't honor room requests »

My husband is mildly disabled and has a hard time with stairs. Knowing this place doesn't have an elevator, we requested a ground floor room. It was not honored. No thanks to them our 33 day road trip is off to a lousy start. :'(

    4
« PLEASANTLY SURPRISED WOULD STAY AGAIN »

Staff from check-in to breakfast room always smiling and asking if we needed anything. Room was clean and tidy. We stayed in Room 123 across from office. Didn't notice any loud noises. The rooms across parking lot are right next to freeway. Thank goodness for the large Billboard that had the exit number and address to the motel. This motel had the best Breakfast Buffet. They offered varieties in teas/oatmeal/ 4 kinds of juice. There were two a joining room not eating in the lobby. Beds were comfortable.

    4
    « Pretty Good »

This place is located on the eastern side of the city as you are leaving to go east on Hwy. 40; actually located at the end of E. Main Street. Great on and off highway. Near an AM/PM gas station and a Walmart. Away from the bustle of "downtown" Barstow. Pool. (They will give you extra pool towels) Breakfast is at 6 a.m.; standard fare, lots of carbs, etc. Near a donut store for early risers. A bit of a walk to a Vons supermarket and a movie theater, but do-able. Friendly staff, quiet, clean rooms, good shower pressure. Popular with travelers. Route 66 gift shop. Desk attendant will recommend good local restaurants. We stayed going to and coming from our New Mexico road trip.

    5
    « sold out »

Usually stay near the outlet stores but they were sold out, this was an excellent find for a very reasonable price. Plus the donut store around the corner is awesome. Barstow isn't the prettiest town but this hotel makes it worth the stop.

    5
« Nice Place to Stay »

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facility itself was in excellent condition. The room was large with all the necessary items you would need. The price was fair for the quality you received. Breakfast was basic but it was food and started the day. The only negative was the mobile home park connected to the parking lot. People were walking through the parking lot all night. Suggest you lock your car. I would stay there again and recommend it to everyone.

    4
    « Clean and comfortable »

This hotel is convenient, clean and comfortable, It is located just off the interstate road, we got a room late in the evening at the hotel reception. The room was big enough for all of us (2 adults 2 kids). And they provided breakfast the next morning. It was well worth the cost.

    3
« Not impressed at all »

Stopped at this location for a night. Parking is pretty small and there are mobile houses upfront the motel. No Wi-Fi. But very friendly stuff. Breakfast was lower than average and breakfast room area is not big at all. Room smelled like there was smoking before. Really strong smell which you can smell even after a night. I'm a big Best Western hotels chain fan and this is not my favorite location at all.

    « Excellent stay. »

Room was immaculate and very comfortable for a one night stay. Customer service was also outstanding. As a single female travelling solo this was especially appreciated. Clean room, comfortable bed. Some have commented on the noise of the train, however I was in room 107 and even being a light sleeper I was not bothered by any noise at all. I did notice that earplugs are provided but weren't needed during my stay. Restaurants are plentiful and close by. The breakfast was sufficient to get your day started and the coffee wasn't weak or watered-down. Definitely would recommend this particular Best Western and would stay again should the opportunity present itself.

    « Would not recommend. »

Chose this hotel after reading mostly great reviews. Wow!! Where we surprised when we arrived!!! Carpet needed repair, was dirty, ceiling had water damage and been improperly repaired, looked horrible. Towels were not white not were the sheets. Valances and curtains wrinkled ....u could c the paint on the wall Had been rolled On poorly as u could c each roller Mark. Desperately needs a face lift!! So not worth the $86!!! I have never left such a poor review but felt the needed to review this hotel & post pictures. Also breakfast was a joke. Arrived a little after 9:05. Tried to partake of the eggs, biscuits and gravy when two women came in an loaded up every last morsel on MANY plates.....(to which they sat and ate from two plates and took the rest with them to where?) So when I asked if there would be more brought out , I was told "no, It was almost 9:30".

« The Rose of Barstow »

For just a night and trying to stay were you don't get bed bugs and are on a budget this is the place for a working man and his family on a small income. I checked in and witness the staff helping a total stranger out with food and helping along the way out of there own pockets. Nice crew great place to stay!!

    5
    « a diamond in the rough »

The Best Western Desert Villa Inn in Barstow is a real diamond in the rough. It's reasonable cost gets you a nice, clean, well outfitted room; a large, well-situated swimming pool; and an unusually good breakfast, with a wide range of items including freshly scrambled eggs and hard boiled ones. The Route 66 decor in the lobby and breakfast room is fun, and there is even a Route 66 gift shop. The hotel is situated right next to the entrance to the 40 freeway, a bit disconcerting when arriving but very convenient in departure. And yet the hotel rooms are very quiet, somehow the freeway noise not reaching them. Overall, we strongly recommend this hotel.

    4
« Great place to stay! »

Was happy to find a Best Western in Barstow. You pay a little more than you would at a Motel 6, but it's definitely worth it if you take advantage of the complimentary breakfast. They do need to extend the hours for breakfast though, but other than that, we had a great stay!

    2
    « Very Noisy »

If you are looking for a quiet motel this is not the place to stay. The walls are so thin when other rooms take their showers it sounds as if they are in your room. There are trains passing by at all hours seemingly just across the street as well (the motel does provide ear plugs in each room due to the noise, check the photo). There is also a trailer park on the property that looks like a shanty town. It is hard to regulate the ac in the room, you are either freezing or hot. We have always stayed at Best Western motels but this is one place we will not come back to.

    2
« Freeway, train, mobile home park with gang members »

Great staff and rooms were decent. However paying over $100 to share the pool with gang members who live in the mobile home park which is accessed through the hotel. They bring their gaggle of kids too. The added bonus is that the hotel sits adjacent to the freeway and a train track.

    4
« Great for an Overnight Stay »

We, like most other visitors to Barstow, were on our way elsewhere and were looking for an acceptable motel for an overnight stay. The Best Western Desert Villa Inn fit the bill almost perfectly. Its location is ideal, right at the junction of I-15, I-40. It is a fairly large establishment with quite a few rooms. It has a pool. They serve an adequate buffet breakfast that is included with your room. They are located close to commercial establishments - such as a Von's Supermarket, myriad gas stations and restaurants. The management and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend the Desert Villa Inn for an overnight stay.

    2
    « Unsafe »

I'm concerned about the local kids who break in to the UNLIGHTED pool area at night. They plan to jump off the roof and could get seriously injured. Management needs to secure the pool. I told them about this and they didn't take it seriously.

    4
« Good, basic, clean place to stay »

We stopped in last-miute without a reservation and they were very accommodating. I like Best Western because they seem consistent and adhere to some minimum standards. This property was well run and nice to stay in.

My sister and I were driving from San Francisco to Albuquerque and were very tired and sleepy. could not drive another mile. We finally reached Barstow, CA ata about 1:00am. « cLEAN AND QUIET »

Extremely quiet, very clean, large spacious room with settee and kitchenette facilities. Very friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was very good with plenty of food and a good selection, . Breakfast area was very crowded but this could have been due to the time of day, we didn't go until about 9.00am. Location was handy for everything we needed, would certainly stay there again.

« Very nice, but the room was a tad small.. »

Let's just say, Barstow is hot, hot, hot... We were very glad to arrive.. The Front Desk clerk was very nice and helpful...very sweet and answered all my questions about the area... The only complaint we had is the room we had was very, very small as compared to the others.. The pool was nice, but cold.... The breakfast was a BW Breakfast...very good -- no complaints at all. All in all, it was very nice, and would stay again...

« Thank you for making our stay special. BW should give awards to their best service people. »

Hope (the woman at the check-in desk) could see that I was stressed. She was efficient, caring, and gave us the attention that we needed. The room was so clean and wonderful, and I finally got the rest I needed. The Breakfast was Great/ Loved that they gave us earplugs because the train was near, but we didn't need them. Slept wonderfully, safely and loved the staff. Thank you BW..we won't be looking anywhere else when you have such terrific people working to make my stay the Best

    « Surprisingly Wonderful Proeperty »

OK. Best Western emits American generlitee. But this one has everything you need, plus reasonable pricing. The breakfast is what you'd expect; staff sets up early for the 6:00 AM call with the standard BW waffles, bagels, eggs, and sausage--a delight, if you're a breakfast person, as it comes with the room. Pool can be relaxing in season. WIFI is excellent. Rooms were clean and ready. Barstow is what it is, but this property makes passing through endurable.

« Great stop over hotel »

This was just a one night stop en route to Death Valley and we were very impressed with the standard of room, good pool and most of all the very friendly staff on reception. We had a good breakfast with lots on offer. We ate at The Old Firehouse nearby and had a good meal there.

    « Hotel Good, Location ? »

The hotel itself was a great value. Room was spacious and clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good as typical for Best Western. The location, however, was less desired. Other people on here complained about noise. Noise was not our issue. Our complaint was the trailer park at the end of the parking lot with tenants wondering through the hotel parking lot. Not to mention this seams to be a bad part of town in Barstow. We might consider staying again but we will keep our options open.

    « Great Hotel »

Clean, comfortable, good location and friendly staff. Our group of eight were on a five day motorcycle trip and this location was a great stop on our trip. They had a good breakfast that started early enough so we could enjoy it and get an early start on the next leg of our trip.

    « Nice Clean »

Nice Clean Hotel Friendly staff Gave sheet of restaurant recommendations that seemed very accurate Check out was very efficient Rooms were well designed Microwave and refrigerator out of the sleeping area Nice comfy couch Immediate connection to wi fi Near two major highways but room was not noisy Did not need ear plugs they left as routine in room

    « Trip to Niece's Graduation »

Our stay was short but accomodating. The breakfast is one of the best in any motel we have ever stayed in. The breakfast employees are very friendly. The rooms are nice size and comfortable. We had a little trouble with getting a room, but it all got worked out.

    3
« Not bad for one night... »

So this was prepaid but upon arrival I was for my credit card to pay the room, I was told it was through a third party site - even though I booked directly with the hotel site, so after much aggro from the reception it suddenly "became right". The hotel was more of a motel with exterior access, free parking and its location is in need of a car... The room was fine, clean and pleasant.. Big flat screen TV was an added plus! Breakfast was minimal but again dos the trick, was not really much choice but the stuff they did have was sufficient for breakfast. Overall, I would consider staying here again, ideally prefer to pay a little less as I believe the price paid didn't warrant the quality offered.

« Great Staff can't make up for Negatives »

All three front desk folks were friendly, personable, and interested in our comfort. They couldn't make up for a faulty thermostat in the air conditioner which cost me hours of sleep because I was too warm. They also couldn't compensate for the shower faucet that took so much effort to turn it on that I almost got a hernia but which resisted all my efforts to turn it off completely thereby wasting untold amounts of water. They were also unable to make up for the mediocre breakfast. Add in the train noise and I'll take a pass on Barstow the next time.

    3
    « Average Best Western »

Good location for easy access from highway. Desk staff friendly and pretty good breakfast. Nothing special about the room or property: comfortable, clean and accessible. It can be noisy from highway noise, earplugs are provided. It is a convenient stop for early first stop driving east or good location for easy next day driving west.

    2
    « Adequate--Maybe »

It is an old hotel but they have tried to update so is adequate. We have stayed twice but will try not to do so again. There are nicer BW's for the money. I will say the ladies who work the desk in the mornings are very efficient and courteous. The man and woman who worked afternoon/evening do not answer the phone promptly and made me feel I was interrupting their day by wanting to register. Breakfast was was just fine and the lady running it was great.

    4
    « Nearly 400 Miles Later »

We stopped close to our limit. The motel was welcoming and comfortable. The pillows- my pet peeve- adequate. We came into town from the west. But the place is near the east most exit, if it helps. Carefully turn right when you exit the property, and then turn a 'U' if you need to. It is on a turn.

    5
    « Outstanding »

Great experience...staff in particular was outstanding. Would stay there every time we are in the area, and recommend this to anyone else traveling. Not much else to be said. This is the second time we have been at this motel. This time however was the best by far, especially the checkout staff.

« Spring trip back to Colorado »

Very pleased with Barstow location of Best Western--walking distance to shops/food. Takes pets. Small but adequate pet walking area. Charges $15 per pet. Very nice room. Good reference for dinner.Easy access to I-15.

« Uh oh, smoking room »

We stayed here in early March. We've stayed here before, several times, and never had a problem. I specifically said in reservation request I must have NON smoking. When we checked in I again said it must be non-smoking. I was informed that now all rooms are non-smoking. Hah, I saw several people smoking right outside their rooms and even noted that some of the rooms still had smoking signs on the door. You can't just say non smoking. You have to change the air filters. Duh. And have drapes cleaned, etc. On previous visits, we were always put on same side as check-in and breakfast room. This time we were across the way in room 238. When we turned on the a/c (or it could have been heat - it was March 3rd) the room stank from stale cigarette smoke. I'm sure it was the filter. Luckily for the night to sleep we didn't need either a/c or heat. On top of the smell, the pillows were very uncomfortable. And they'd always been comfy before. Square shape and very fat. That is not good for one's neck. The front told me that they were new and needed to be be worn down. I think they should have an assortment in rooms, some normal and some overstuffed, like these were. The free breakfast is still good. A huge assortment. Excellent choices. Next trip we'll try another hotel, where non-smoking is really non-smoking.

« BW stay in Barstow, CA »

This was the best Best Western I have stayed in in years. I travel all across the US and only use Best Westerns. This hotel should be a Plus! The room was clean, they had a great breakfast and the staff was helpful and friendly!

    4
    « quiet and comfortable »

We stayed in a large room, accommodating, clean, comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating with suggestions for dinner places. We ate at Idle Spurs, a local place a few minutes from the hotel. It was fun and tasty. This hotel is right off the highway, so it was accessible and we did not hear highway noise.

    4
« Good option in Barstow, convenient to Barstow Station and downtown »

Typical Best Western quality just off I-40 and about 1/4 mile from Barstow Station. Friendly and efficient staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. There are freight trains running 24 hours a day across the street, but I didn't hear them from the room. Recommended!

    5
« Best Hotel in Barstow »

This hotel is going through some upgrades and changes. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is great and the attendants keep everything fresh and stocked. Front desk staff is professional and friendly. Highly recommend this property.

    3
    « Just OK »

Probably will not stay here again. Very noisy as it is right by railroad tracks and busy road. Trailer park attached with noisy dog that barked at every car. No restaurant or eatery close. This was our second stay here and we will look for another location on our next trip to AZ.

    1
    « deep disappointment »

This was our worst stay of our 13 day road trip. The service was horrible. There was a hole in the floor of our room, covered only by carpet, that my son stepped in and almost tripped over. The bathroom was not clean. My mom is handicapped and had asked for rooms all along our trip that were downstairs and a king bed. Every place had more than accomodated her. This hotel did NOT accomodate her and on top of that told her that Best Western NEVER guarantees rooms. NOT. Every Best Western we stayed at until that night had given her the room that she was guaranteed. I would NEVER stay there again.

    5
    « great location »

great location, easy on/off from highway, close to numerous restaurants and outlet shopping, room supplied with ear buds to reduce any unwanted noise. very safe location and excellent staff, easy to find near major interstate highways.

    « Welcome stay during a storm »

We arrived during a very heavy rainstorm and found a pleasant refuge here. The staff was friendly and the breakfast had good choices. Our stay was only an overnight stay. I would recommend this place to anybody who is just traveling through. It is very convenient to the highway.

    « Unauthorized Room Access »

Best Western Management Team, I stayed one night at Best Western Desert Villa hotel at room 218 last 3/29/16. The following morning before we checked out, we ate at your breakfast around 9AM when we noticed the cleaning crew was already cleaning other rooms besides our room. When my wife and I came back from our hotel room 218 after eating breakfast, my wedding band was missing inside our room. I am not sure if someone from your cleaning crew went inside our room when they noticed that we went out to eat breakfast but I know that my wedding ring was left on side table by the bed. If your key card card has a record of in and out the room on 3/30/16. Please let me know the time when someone entered the room. Please email me or call me because I know for the fact that someone went inside our room without our knowledge and stole my wedding band. Disappointed customer, Dewey

    « Good Value »

We were very pleased that even with last minute plans, this hotel offered a decent price, a good hot breakfast and comfortable lodging. I appreciated the comfort and the front desk service was excellent.

  • 5
    « Awesome place »

once you get past the train that seems to come by every 5 mins. its an excellent place to stay. Oh they do provide ear plugs in the rooms I was so tired that I didn't need them and it wasn't a problem

    3
« They provide the earplugs »

The location is not conducive to peaceful slumber if you are affected by noise. Barstow is a major railroad hub and the trains run 24/7. The tracks are just across Main Street. If you are staying here, suggest evaluating the layout and choose a room that is not line of sight to the tracks. The hotel provides earplugs in the room.

    4
« Stay at the end »

The staff is great. Plenty of parking. No problems. The breakfast was the usual. However, if you are at all a light sleeper the trains passing through will keep you up. It was an endless stream. If you have young children who are still into THOMAS THE TANK and trains, this place is fine. Ear plugs worked great. Overall it was fine for what we needed.

    4
« Great place, bad neighbors »

Spent two nights here. The first night was great, the second night we were kept awake by a party going on at a neighboring mobile home park. Make sure you get a room far away from that area, especially during a weekend.

    4
« Great place to stop in the middle of the desert. »

We were exhausted and needed a rest....this place was very friendly and accommodating. Comfortable, easy to find, good TV reception/computer access - glad we stayed. The only issue was hot water in the shower,,,,not enough of it.

    « Best Western on route 66 »

Stayed at the Best Western Barstow, USA and was really pleased with this little gem. Not your typical BW hotel as design layout is of a motel style but I tell you great rooms with fridge and microwave provided as well as coffee maker. They have a great little pool which is 9 foot deep at one end! Internet wifi is super fast. Breakfast is included in price and although basic is fresh and serve yourself buffet style. Lovely reception area where you can chill out on sofas but no need really as had a sofa and big TV with loads of channels in the room. All the staff were friendly and efficient. You can print out boarding passes in reception. This hotel joins Main Street of Barstow which is part of historic Route 66 a bonus if like me you're a biker loads of photo opportunities and as they say get your kicks on Route 66. Will definitely be returning here in near future.

    4
« Great place to stay! »

The hotel was clean and staff professional and friendly. The room was very clean and the decor was nice. The bed was very comfortable. It was close to the freeway and trains, but noise does not bother us at all, so we slept well. Not far from restaurants and gas stations, etc. We would stay here again and recommend it.

    4
    « Not Bad »

For anyone reading, this review is based on a Best Western Hotel and not a high-end hotel, so I am only basing my thoughts on this distinction. The rooms were fine, Wi-Fi was good, location was so-so (lots of trains), but any decent hotel in the area will experience the same since they are all closely located to one another. The breakfast was nice (again, not a high-end hotel), so it was nice for Best Western. Freeway access is excellent. However, what really stood out were the helpful, cheery, and just nice staff members. Overall, not bad. Pretty decent.

    3
« Clean and pet friendly »

Room was clean and comfortable and the staff was really nice. Rooms are older but well maintained. It is right next to the interstate so expect road noise and it sits in front of an entrance to a trailer community so people are coming and going from that as well. Good place to stop if you have pets.

« Had a great stay at the Best Western in Barstow »

Had a great stay at the Best Western in Barstow, CA. I am traveling the perimeter of the United States by bicycle as a fundraiser for Habitat For Humanity and Save The Children. The Best Western staff was great and went out of their way to make my stay there a comfortable one. Thanks to Brett the manager for his consideration. I had just completed a very difficult 3 day ride across the Mohave Desert, and the Best Western Desert Villa Inn provided a comfortable haven for a couple of nights so I could recover. Thank you Best Western!

    « Great Service! »

We had an unexpected stop in Barstow on our trip and were really glad we stopped at this hotel! The service is outstanding! It's right next to a train track and trains frequently run through---it's not a quiet hotel, but they offer ear plugs in the room. The breakfast was great--waffles, yogurt, mini muffins, cereal, juice, milk, coffee, fruit, biscuits, gravy, bagels and sausage. One lady working the breakfast area, gave us bagels to take with us in case the kids got hungry. She put then in a bag for us and just went above and beyond what we usually see at hotels. Even with the noise, we would stay here again.

    4
    « Breakfast was good... »

Well the place is in need of updates. But other then that my only complaint was not knowing there are a few smoking rooms. I got stuck next to one with an adjoining door which had a draft. So randomly is get the smell of cigarettes in me room. Despite needing updates the place was very clean and the staff very cheerful and nice.

    4
« Adequate, clean friendly staff »

We stayed one night at this Best Western on our way to Utah. It was totally adequate. Inexpensive....$100. for two. Two queen beds, fast food near by. Quiet. Easy to find in Barstow. Full breakfast. Great TV reception and choice. Free fast wi-fi. Refrig and microwave and coffee maker in room.

    2
    « old smell »

old smell from old, dirty carpet. carpet fresh powder overpowering. had to keep air conditioning running all night to keep fresh air coming into room which made for a noisy night. breakfast was typical fare. other than old and tired hotel, the staff worked their best to keep clean.

    5
« Great Place to Stay »

Great staff, clean hotel, COMFORTABLE BEDS!!! The coffee was good tasting and hot. I love the large choice of different breakfast items. Love the biscuits and gravy with sausage on the side!!! I stayed at all Best Western Hotels my whole vacation and every single one was GREAT! Thanks

    2
« Move to a different hotel If... »

If you need a quiet hotel..go elsewhere. Although this is not a bad hotel, the train and the freeway are right next to it....rather noisy. I gave this place only way stars because it doesn't measure up to what is the usual Best Western standards. The sheets were scratchy, and the room had a weird smell . The scrambled eggs tasted like flour, water and dry egg powder. Pretty bad stuff. On the good side ..the coffee was better than average. The price was good...but considering all the issues, it should have been less...and even then, it would not make me stay there again.

    2
« All rooms are Pet Friendly. »

Not everyone wants to stay in a guest room where pets have been. Some people are allergic to pet hair. Also, a barking dog in the adjacent room woke us up twice during the night. This hotel does have a "Pet Friendly Area", but I was informed that pets are never turned away. This means that all rooms are pet friendly. Other than the pet issue, this was a fine and reasonably-priced hotel. Excellent breakfasts!

    4
« It's is fine for one night... »

The clerk was welcoming, the room clean, the breakfast adequate...it IS located RIGHT off the freeway, a couple blocks from the railroad tracks. They do leave earplugs on the nightstand, but we didn't use them and slept just fine. It wasn't the best Best Western we have stayed in, but it certainly wasn't the worst. For most people, Barstow is a place to stop for one night. I wouldn't hesitsate to stay there again. It might be pricier than other options, but it's predictable.

    4
« Great motel for the price! »

Easy on and off highway, near main business area. Nice staff, good breakfast. Nice clean rooms. If you are a lite sleeper you may have a problem as allot of trains go thru Barstow! The staff was nice and we got a good AAA rate.

    3
« NOT OUR USUAL PICK FOR AN OVERNIGHT STAY »

but given the fact there are not that many choices on Californian byways we had limited options. The hotel is right across from a major freight train route so lots of rumblings. At least, the management provides earplugs for that sensitive sleeper which we took more for a joke than anything else. I don't think we will ever come back to this hotel.

  • 4
« Best Western Desert Villa Inn, Barstow, CALIFORNIA »

We stopped here late at night, so were pretty tired. The room was nice, beds were comfortable, and room was clean. The breakfast was varied and tasty. They gave us a typed listed of restaurants nearby, with directions and distances. This made deciding where to have dinner easy.

    2
« old tired dirty motel »

Should not be a BW motel. Room though large was not clean and bed was old and linen did not stay in place. Noisy at night as adjacent to trains which run all night. Did not hear the freeway adjacent on the other side. Overall not up to BW standards.

    4
« stop on the road »

This was a 1 night stop on a trip to visit family. We didn't require anything special, just a comfortable bed, a clean room & a decent breakfast. This place filled all these needs well. The biscuits & gravy that some Best Westerns have added are Excellent. The staff is friendly , professional and helpful. I will stay here again on my way to see family. The only negative, if you're bothered by them, is that there are trains that go by quite often, however they didn't interfere with my sleep at all.

    4
    « Good for Area »

Passing through Barstow and had a comfortable night. Recommend for convenience, quality of bed, and breakfast.. Check in was speedy. Was especially impressed by the person who made my reservation on the phone while we were driving.

    3
    « Barstow »

Service is good and staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are smaller than the typical Best Western. The bathroom is tiny. Note that this hotel is located across the road from the train tracks, ask for a room away from the road.

    4
    « Nice clean hotel »

The man at front desk was very nice upon our check in, very informative and helpful. Room was very clean and large. No delivery besides pizza hut so we settled for pizza. Noise didnt bother us and we slept great, but i can see how light sleepers would have a rough go of it when those trains rumble by. They do provide earplugs! Nice little store in their lobby for food and toiletry items. We would stay here again!

    5
    « Classic best western »

Fantastic hotel. Rooms are huge, storage space where you want it. Comfy classic furnishings. Ultra clean. Great parking. Easy access. Friendly helpful staff. They did everything I asked at reservation. Good breakfast. Can't say anything bad. Canadians....use your BW points to avoid low exchange. Don't pass this one by.

    4
« Very good hotel for the price »

The Best Western in Barstow was a pleasant surprise. We spent 2 nights there, the beds were comfortable, the breakfast was very nice (I love the make-your-own waffles, hard boiled eggs, yogurt. Didn't really try the hot eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy or pastries.) The room was very clean and amazingly quiet for its location. A very nice hotel for a great price that suited our needs perfectly.

    4
« Very Good Value for the Price »

This a very good value for the price. It is a typical hotel that you find along the Interstate Highway system. Comfortable accommodation and a full range of amenities: WIFI, Cable TV, in-room coffee, pool, and complimentary breakfast which is very adequate; nothing fancy but adequate. The coffee is good. the only negative is that is near the railroad tracks with trains running at night. This only a problem if you are a light sleeper; my wife is but I am not. Train traffic awakened her, it did not me. The hotel provides ear plugs. On balance, this hotel is recommended.

    3
« The place was a mixed bag »

The young manager was eager to be helpful with blankets and lightbulb. The trains and highways converge and are somewhat noisy. The desk's recommendarion of an Italian food was a dud. The place smelled and the food tasted as if the cooling was done without garlic or olive oil.

  • 5
« Comfortable in the desert. »

This Best Western is kept up quite well. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly, polite, courteous and welcoming. The breakfast room was recently remodeled and I love it!. Food presentation is perfect. Love the biscuits and gravy! Love this hotel and highly recommend it.

    5
    « Very clean »

I got to stay in a spacious room, clean and comfortable they even had ear plugs, which make me think that they focuse on every kind of customer . My family enjoyed it. We couldn't use the pool because it was too cold. The breakfast room was a little bit small, but there was a variety of food to choose rom, breakfast was good

    3
    « Barstow Trains »

It would be nice to be able to easily find a hotel in Barstow without a train making noise nearby. I rated the location as poor, since, in Barstow, one can get a motel very close to the switching yards and hear screeching, clanging noises all night from the train switching, rather than just a train going by often. The other location would rank as Terrible. We did that before, late at night, thought this location would be better. It was, not much, though.

    3
« Better than it looks from Interstate »

We reserved a room here because of the motel's pet friendly policy. When we first pulled off the Interstate into the parking lot, I thought the property looked like a dump and that it would be too load with highway noise all night, but our first floor room (122) was surprisingly quiet and had a good HVAC fan noise that drowned out any road noise. Our room was conveniently located next to a grassy area that we and our dog appreciated. Hot breakfast was average.

    5
    « Great Stay »

Everyone and Everything was Great , We would stay there again, close to food gas station and freeway, I will stay there again , They where pet friendly everything was Great ..... Happy Happy , Happy, Every Employee needs something Great given or done for them for doing a Great Job ..at that Best Western in Barstow, Ca.

    « Best in Barstow »

I travel extensively for business, I stay at "many" hotels. This Hotel and staff are by far "The Best" ! I actually look forward to checking in, the staff is friendly, and always on top of their game. I do not consider any other hotel in Barstow.

    5
    « great stay »

Had everything you need. Clean room. Comfy bed. Room set up was great. The room had a microwave and small refridgerator. Super shower. Delicious breakfast with many options. Ear plugs were available...my husband used these and never heard a thing!!!

    1
« Double price for half amenities »

Best Westerns are off our list permanently. Ever since they went to a 3-tier ranking of their motels the least expensive is $20- $40 more than comparable motels. The Barstow motel cost $85 plus tax w/ no microwave or fridge - a bare spot along the wall where these units had been removed. The low-end Best Western rooms are tiny hole in the wall spaces with noisy heat/cool units. Thankfully we have our camper now and use motels way less often.

    4
« OK, right off interstate »

Ok for a night, rooms fairly clean, hot breakfast, restaurants nearby, right off the interstate. Best to reserve or arrive early, place was empty at 5pm but full when we woke up the next morning. Not much else to say.

    4

« Stay at Barstow Best Western Motel »

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at your motel. We stayed at this motel several years ago and commented that the motel was still a nice place to stay. If we travel through this area again we would stay at your motel.

    4
« Best in the Area »

Although Best Western can always be counted on, I found this particular one to be surprisingly great for the area. The price was excellent, they are pet friendly and the full breakfast was well stocked and very appreciated. My only complaint was that since this is one of those "passing through the area" hotels where people check out quickly after one night to get back on the road, the cleaning staff got started very early (7:30ish) and were very loud, shouting to each other and whistling while they worked. It would be awful for anyone sleeping in. Still a great value and would stay there again.

    5
    « great »

great place to stay. I have never been disappointed at a Best Western . The people are always friendly. They take the time to listen, maybe share a joke, and in general make you feel welcome. I have never felt like I was interrupting something when I have checked in or needed something at the front desk.

    4
    « More than adequate »

We stayed here for one night on our way from California to Arizona and it was a good place to choose as it's very easy to find, nice and clean, and the rooms were large and beds comfy. The only downside we found is that there aren't any restaurants or bars within walking distance. I know a lot of people don't mind as they prefer to drive, but my boyfriend and I always prefer to walk so that we can both have a couple of drinks. Other than that, I can't fault the hotel.

    3
« Okay For One Night »

This is a typical interstate motel with good and not so good things but usable for one night. There is a well stocked breakfast for hungry travelers, a pool in warm weather, clean rooms and comfortable beds. The downside is mostly noise issues such as the interstate beside the motel and the busy train tracks across the street. Also this is a popular place for construction workers to bed down for the night. Mostly they are quiet enough but there was an open door confab a couple rooms away with noisy smokers milling around outside late. Plus we were woken up at 3:30 am when a noisy group of trucks fired up and made their way out. All in all an average stay that was pretty much as expected and a place we probably will use again sometime.

Loved the room, loved the food and the service was amazing! It would have been to have been nice to have been told that there was no hot water when we checked in. We would have moved rooms or gone to another motel. We felt cheated as sleep and a shower are imperative when traveling.

    « VERY CLEAN »

We totally enjoyed staying at this Motel. We could faulter the cleanliness and service given here. The breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. It helps when you are travelling. I would definately recommend this motel for those who are travelling Route 66. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Although the trains go through here, I couldn't hear them through the night at all.

Lucky us! Who knew such a great place would be in Barstow California! Well it looks like many did. Now we do too. Thank you so much best weather for a great night sleep in a great hotel. A definite must if you are staying or stopping over in Barstow. Folks to give it a try. PS dog friendly!. Also an excellent recommendation came from hotel staff for a Mexican restaurant just up the street inside the Quality Inn. I believe the name of the restaurant was los Domingos we highly recommend their ZARATES, as well as their POLLO PARILLO. The breakfast buffet provided by the motel is one of the best we've seen when included with the night stay.

Everything was fabulous except the pool was not heated. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good value, and clean, comfortable room. The breakfast was wonderful and the breakfast room attendants were friendly and helpful.

« Great location for visiting death valley »

This is the 3rd time I have stayed in this hotel and each time it seems to get better. The first time I stayed here the air con was a problem and the curtains but that has been fixed now. The breakfast is good with plenty of choice. I would recommend this hotel for sure when visiting Death Valley, friendly staff, comfortable bed, clean room, good breakfast, reasonable price. What more do you want in a hotel.

« Stay at Best Western Desert Villa Inn, Barstow, California »

Generally a very good experience, both my daughter and myself satisfied. We can recommend staying here. Everything expected was delivered at a reasonable price and to good quality. We also enjoyed earlier stay at Best Western, Willows, N. California, where staff and quality of stay similarly good. R Hawkins & E Hawkins

    « Great nights sleep »

Checked into this hotel around 7:30 after driving all day and was very tired. The clerk was very fast and efficient. I think she could see that we were very tired. She asked if we'd had dinner yet and we said yes we had. She recommended a couple of close by places incase we waned a snack. We thanked her and went on to our room. It is an older motel but recently upgraded. Nice big parking lot for motor homes and trucks. Breakfast was good too.

« Friendly Staff but noisey location »

Stopped for the night on our way to the Grand Canyon. Very accommodating staff, clean and convenient location to major highway, however also very close to rail road tracks with trains coming through all night long. They did provide ear plugs for guests as well as free breakfast.

« Great staff, nice clean room »

Stayed here after my car broke down on I-40 and got towed into Barstow. Great relief to have a nice room after a bummer of a breakdown experience. Free breakfast was very welcome and the attendant immediately fixed the orange juice machine when the OJ was too watery. Waffle machine was super, the rest on offer was enough to fill anyone up. Best thing I can say about this hotel was Ronald at the front desk. What a super guy! As I had to wait several hours in the lobby to wait for my car, I was able to watch him interact with guests as they checked in, including what sounded like a former drug addict who had turned his life around and who was befriended by Ronald in the past. Always a positive attitude and big smile, always asking guests who wanted a room if they were members of AAA or AARP so they could get a discount. Offered me yogurt and other snacks while I waited to get my car fixed. Great recommendations for dinner or lunch. The only downer, I suppose, is that the hotel is right hear the highway and the rail line, so there can be some noise and some vibration (especially from the RR), but the hotel does thoughtfully put earplugs on the nightstand. Close to all restaurants and such on Main Street. Didn't use the pool. Would recommend if you are in Barstow. Strongly recommend that the management increase Ronald's pay to keep him there.

« A great place to stay in Barstow »

The staff at the service desk and in housekeeping accommodated our every request. We enjoyed our room, the amenities, and the location within town. Despite being near the freeway and train tracks, our room was surprisingly quiet. We plan on coming back to Barstow as a midpoint between Arizona and SoCal.

    « comfortable, spacious »

I liked this motel room very much. It has separate 'kitchen' sink and bathroom sink. Very comfortable king bed with lots of pillows. Good breakfast included. Eggs, bacon, breads, and a pleasant self-serve dining room.

« Good Rooms But Railroad to One Side, Freeway to the Other »

Overall, the property is well-kept, the rooms clean and functional and service friendly. The courtesy ear plugs on the night stand point out the problem: cargo train traffic and truck traffic pass by all night long. The trains whistle! This is not the hotel's fault. It's the location and most hotels in Barstow share this fate.

    « Good Value »

A comfortable motel on Route 66. Although we arrived around midday, there was no problem checking in early, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The motel is situated between the freeway and the railway track but in spite of this it was not that noisy and we had a good night's sleep.

    « Convenient Location »

Very convenient to highway and the train track if you were traveling that way. Not so convenient if you have the room at the far end from the office and want ice, which is located by the office. Nice breakfast with cheese omelets and sausages, as well as mini waffle maker. comfortable room and nice staff. Pool and even a small exercise room.

owner operators make the best hosts. airbnb has failed to live up to expectations with misleading information. at BW you can count on a clean room, a hot shower, and consideration for travelers that exceed hope for a good experience.

Parking spaces are too narrow. Beds are too soft for my personal taste. Staff helpful, especially person who oversaw the breakfast service. Other than the parking spaces and bed's lack of firmness, OK.

« Good bet in Barstow »

I can't understand why this Best Western doesn't get better reviews. It is affordable, clean and has the usual amenities . The mobile park behind it is fine, it's not a trailer park. With the door shut and air conditioner running we didn't even notice the trains. For 70 to 80 dollars a night it seemed like a good choice.

    « Great Service »

All the staff was very friendly. The rooms are spotless The breakfast fully stocked. The breakfast area was very clean. You did not need to wait for a clean table. The front counter staff were very friendly and very helpful. We rate this Best Western 5 Stars.

    « Up to Scratch »

On our South Western USA tour we needed and overnight stop between Las Vegas and Los Angeles and Barstow was chosen. We had used this hotel before and as our experience then was fine we decided on it again. It provides good value for money to a standard expected from the BW chain.

Rooms, staff, and pool are great. My only complaint would be the location to the train tracks. You can sometimes here a nearby train passing through. The Wifi was a little slow as well. Staff was very nice and helpful. Room and pool was great.
