« My second stay at this clean and cozy hotel »

This is my second stay at Best Western Acadia Park Inn. We've stayed here two years ago during our first visit to Bar Harbor. I like this hotel, it makes me feel like home. Room is still clean and cozy as it was. Breakfast is free and the food is ok. I would highly recommend this hotel for family travel.

    « would book this again ! »

Friendly staff, clean, quiet rooms with parking at your door, the most variety in an breakfast we have ever had at a motel and friendly, older hostess. The breakfast room opens at 6:30 a.m and there is a lot of activity with people trying to see the sun rise, but the room was never crowded. Very close to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We were there just at peak leaf time, but sadly the lobster pounds had closed by then. Still had wonderful fish and lobster rolls.

    « Good location & fair price »

Hotel in general is dated, but the bathroom was renovated. Front desk staff & cleaning crew were very friendly. My only grievances are that the bed & pillows were uncomfortable & the walls are paper thin. We could hear TVs and the bathroom activities of other guests at all hours of the night. My wife also did not like that they didn't have FS1 in their channel lineup, but we know that's minor in the grand scheme of things. The breakfast building was clean & breakfast was very good every morning. They switch it up a little each day & they were doing a great job at keeping things stocked & fresh. This BW is one of the few reasonably affordable places open this late in the year & it was an easy drive to/from Bar Harbor & Acadia.

« Great value for the money »

Very close to Acadia Park entrance. Close to good restaurants, and town of Bar Harbor. Staff super friendly and helpful. Rooms not spectacular but clean and well maintained. Breakfast is listed as continental, but is much more substantial than a usual continental breakfast. Free goodies in the front desk area in the afternoon. Motel like configuration allows you to park in front of your door. Very nice and FREE ! Couldn't be happier with our stay. Excellent value. Better book EARLY, it was full every day.

« Acadia Best Western in Bar Harbour »

The bedding was so comfy. The breakfast had so much to choose from and even had eggs and sausage and waffles! It was conveniently close to Acadia National Park. We liked that it was single level and we could park right in front of our door. It was quiet and had a fan in the bathroom. The shower was hot and had a great shower head. The employees were very helpful and sent us to great restaurants in Bar Harbour. The cost to stay here was inexpensive and the location was convenient. They had a nice pool but it was too cold outside to swim. The television worked great. We loved our stay here and will come back!

« Convenient, comfortable, great value! »

We were looking for a hotel to spend one night on our road trip through New England. Since we typically stop around dinner time and are just spending one night, we are always looking for good value, but do not want to sacrifice cleanliness and comfort. This hotel hit the mark. A bonus was the wonderful breakfast- the largest selection of breakfast items we found on our trip. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

« an okay stay at a reasonable price »

Beds were extra comfy and plenty of pillows. Definitely not a high end facility, but at a very reasonable price for the area. It was there last night of the season, so I was really skeptical of what the continental breakfast would have. Fear not the breakfast facility was super clean and unbelievably filled with all kinds of food from breads, oatmeal, fruit, kielbasa, scrambled eggs, hash browns, make your own waffles - juice and really good coffee. Room was plenty full sized, bathroom was older but super clean - towels were plentiful and actually dried. Location was advantageous to the park.

    « doing things right »

This facility is about 8 km ( 5 mi) from the town of Bar Harbor and the nearest restaurant is about 3 km, but do not let that discourage you from choosing this location. The BW Acadia has several buildings and most rooms are at ground level ( a plus in my mind). We had a king bed room which was very roomy, very clean and well appointed. One thing I really noticed and liked is that the electrical outlets are located at about waist level making them very accessible. The breakfast room is located in a separate building, it is quite large with the seating area separated from the food area. Everything was clean, and bright. The food offerings are varied and well stocked. Cold cereals, waffles, eggs, corned beef hash , a variety of breads and pastries and fruit. If your visit to Bar Harbour is to include a big night on the town with having several " sociables" and you do not have a designated driver, then this may not be the place for you, otherwise this is a great place. We will return.

    « Excellent Value »

This property is an excellent value while visiting Acadia National Park. It is within a few minutes of one entrance to the park. The rooms are basic but well maintained. The fan in the bathroom was a little loud but everything else worked well and was clean. The full breakfast made this an outstanding value. The dedicated breakfast room was inviting and well maintained. The breakfast is worth $15 per person considering the full fare and no tip required.

« Excellent value for the money »

I was very pleasantly surprised with this motel, given the price we paid. Rooms were comfortable (though not perfect - more on that later), and staff (everyone from housekeeping to dining room staff to front desk) were very friendly and helpful. The outdoor pool is heated to 82 degrees, so it was still open when we were there in early Oct, though we didn't get a chance to use it. There is also some grassy areas and a toddler playground. What stood out for us was the breakfast. We were expecting a very minimal continental breakfast, and were pleasantly surprised with a fairly large smorgasbord of selections, both hot and cold. The dining "room" is in it's own separate building next to the office, and has ample seating, and like I said, lots of selection. Hot foods consisted of a different potato, meat, and egg selection each of the three days we were there, as well as a DIY waffle station with about 6 different toppings. Cold foods consisted of a large variety of breads/ bagels, pastries, and cereals, hard-boiled eggs, yogurts, and fruit (though that was minimal). Coffee, milk and juice of course, too. Filled us up with energy every day to tackle nearby Acadia, which is about a 5 minute drive from the hotel. Nearby (walking distance) also is Pirates Cove, a really awesome looking miniature golf place that were didn't get to try, but really want to! Rooms - not be best, but I really can't deduct any stars for this, given the price and the other excellent qualities of this motel. The rooms were small but clean, and well maintained. The toiletries were of a better quality than expected. Only real flaw was that where were only two drawers to place your clothes in, which is just not enough for 4 people! And there is no coat closet - just a hanging rack in the sink area. which is the other end of the room from the door. So yes, I'm sure you can find a better room for twice the price, and maybe even a slightly better breakfast and location if you're willing to pay even more than twice the price. For us, we'll happily return to the Best Western.

    « Excellent! »

WONDERFUL! Clean, attractive, good breakfast and the staff is friendly and accomodating. Amelia and the staff on duty are top notch. The location is close to everything. The area is safe and very quiet. I will stay there again!

    « Very nice stay »

Very friendly staff and very comfortable rooms. Free smores of an evening. Great hot breakfast every morning and not the same thing! Free local shuttle pickup in front of the hotel. Good price for as close to the park as it is.

    « Comfortable »

Our room was clean. The beds were very comfortable. The sink & shower were separated. This is nice when traveling with a friend. Breakfast was included & it was pretty good. Everyone at the motel was very friendly. The price was reasonable. We had been on the road for a week so we used the laundry facilities.

    « Great Location »

This is the second time my wife and I stayed here. This year we stayed 3 nights. It is a great location to visit Arcadia National Park, Northeast Harbor and the Bass Lighthouse. On this visit we drove to the Petite Manon and Moosehorn National Wildlife refuges which are a great day trip on US1 near the Canadian Border.. The hotel is clean and comfortable and although they call it a continental breakfast it is much more with a good variety. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

« Lost our reservation, not going back »

When we got to the hotel they had no record of our reservation. I showed them the confirmation email and they said they couldn't do anything about it because they were fully booked and blamed it on the computers. We booked it on booking.com and apparently they were having troubles with the website. They treated it as a "oh well not our fault" situation that the computers lost our reservation. Eventually they were able to find us an extra room that was available and charged us more than what we would have paid for the original room we booked. No price reduction or anything complimentary for the hassle of them losing our reservation. Also, the pictures on booking.com are of the Best Western in downtown bar harbor. Other than that we had a nice stay. The complimentary breakfast was really good and room was clean. Probably wouldn't stay again though.

« Great Value, Awesome Breakfast, and Friendly Staff »

Stayed in this hotel for 8 days on a vacation to Acadia National Park. I wanted something affordable, but convenient to the park and this property fit the bill perfectly. While I generally like Best Western as a brand, I am always a little nervous about properties with external rooms. This property was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was served from 6:30 to 10:00 am and was one of the best hotel breakfasts I have experiences for it's variety and the size of the breakfast area. It was typical hotel breakfast fair, but items did rotate throughout my stay. I was traveling with 4 other family members and everyone found something they wanted from eggs to oatmeal to sausage and hashbrowns. There was even almond milk, which was a first for me at a motel. Even better was that the breakfast staff was courteous and efficient keeping everything well stocked and maintained. There were also newspapers in the breakfast area, including the weekly Acadia paper that highlighted events at the park. Our rooms were cleaned as expected and kept stocked with soaps and shampoos. Beds were comfortable and rooms had a refrigerator and microwave. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and fresh baked cookies brought some of my party back a few days. The laundry facilities were just a bit odd in that that were outside, but we were fortunate in that our room was pretty close. I guess when the rooms are all external there isn't a place for laundry inside, but if the property were to ever be renovated I would recommend enclosing the laundry - it was a bit cold doing laundry at night, not to mention my Dad dropping items in the parking lot on his way to the washing machines. The front desk provided change for use of the machines and everything worked so aside from the fact it was outside, there were no issues. The property had smores nightly in a campfire area. We joked about it each night, but never made it to having smores, but I thought that was a cute idea that kids may like. Overall, everyone in my party enjoyed their stay at this motel and it turned out to be a great value. Yes, you could stay at the expensive and beautiful resorts in the area, but if you are like my family and only spend time in your room to sleep, why spend more money when you can get everything you want and need at a more affordable price? It was also nice to see that the staff seemed happy and we didn't note a grumpy employee in the lot.

« Short Stay in Bar Harbor, Maine »

Little motel was great! Very convenient to all, and comfortable with your car right by your room making it easy to access your luggage. Breakfast was excellent, and the ladies working the dining room were very nice and serviceable. Would definitely consider staying here again. This is our second time in Bar Harbor and would definitely stay here again.

    5
« Great Place to Stay When Visiting the Park »

This hotel is located near the entrance to Acadia National Park so it is a great place to stay if you are visiting there. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms were great , and there is a good breakfast, which they call "continental" but is more than just cereal and toasted bread. It has hot and cold items and one morning the staff passed out warm scones that were delicious! The staff knows the area and can give good recommendations for places to visit and to eat. The only drawback is the distance from Bar Harbor itself makes it not walkable. You definitely have to drive in if you want to shop or eat in the town. We always managed to find a parking spot even in the middle of the October tourist season but it was crowded! We would definitely stay here again. The price is reasonable even in the tourist season and it is a great place to be for visiting everything in the area.

    5
    « Great Stay »

We had travelled to Bar Harbor previously and stayed at a Holiday Inn, but our stay at the Best Western Acadia Inn outshined the previous visit. All was perfect. Wish we could have stayed more time than the two nights.

    5
    « Acadia Homelike Visit »

Wow The Acadia Park Inn had many home-like features. The bar and sitting room was quite cozy, even the Lobby. Pretty views out of our room's window, too. Easy access to Acadia National Park. Use this Best Western Hotel to launch off on your tour of one of this country's most engaging national treasures. Eat a hearty breakfast at the Inn first!

« Nice place to stay near Acadia Nt. Park »

Hotel is motel style which was rather nice after many nights of hauling suitcases up and down stairs. The staff were all knowledgeable about the area and able to give good recommendations for shopping, dining and attractions. Breakfast was one of the best we have had.

    5
    « A Pleasant Surprise »

When we arrived we were surprised that the inn was a complex of four single story buildings and not a multi-story motel. We checked in and went to our room expecting one comparable to a mom and pop roadside motel. Were we surprised. The room was large, modern and clean. You would have thought that you were staying at a Best Western Plus or better. The nice thing about a one story building is that there is no one walking above your head making it a nice quiet place to stay. As one reviewer says, "a nice alternative to busy Bar Harbor." The staff is very professional and helpful. Yes, parking is outside your front door. No need to remember where you parked your car. Even though the motel has a Bar Harbor address, it is six miles out of town.

    5
« Perfect location for a Bar Harbor / Acadia visit. »

This is a great place to stay for a Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park visit! The rooms were large, very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Their continental breakfast was much better than normally experienced. Give a try?you will be happy that you did!

    5
    « A very nice motel »

This is a very nice motel with the excellent service and the clean and comfortable rooms. It was provided a free good full and tasty breakfast. The motel located a few miles from Acadia National Park.

    4
« Great Place to stay! »

This was a first visit to the area and chose the Best Western because of it proximity to Acadia National Park and also because it had good reviews on trip advisor. The room was nice and very clean. The staff was always very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast every morning was great! And I can't forget to mention Jill on the breakfast staff, she was such a sweetheart. All in all a nice place to stay.

    4
« Nice Alternative to BUSY Bar Harbor »

Great location if you're looking to avoid the "chaos" of Bar Harbor. Quieter setting tucked into and area with some nice wooded and green space to enjoy in the evening. I spent most of my time in Acadia National Park, so the location was perfect - just a few miles from Hull's Cove entrance and easier access to Highway 1 if you're heading to the Schoodic side of the park (highly recommended) Just over 2 miles from a beautiful Frenchman's Bay Sunrise. Venturing into Bar Harbor is still easy if you want to take in a tour, kayak, or check out the Bar Island Path - but beware parking can be tricky. Better continental breakfast than I'm used to seeing in comparable hotels. I'm not a B&B or Luxury hotel gal, and was unsure about renting a cottage (being a solo traveler) - A little more than I would normally spend on a room (but hotels here seemed pricier than other national park destinations - and my room was more spacious than anticipated) This turned out to be the perfect place for my Acadia Park vacation.

    3
« Good B&B with very good food! »

Though a little old, this Inn is maintained up to date. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. The cleaning crew is excellent and truly take pride in their work. In addition, the staff that prepare and care for the breakfast is wonderful. They provide a buffet style breakfast, not a continental one with excellent food.

    5
    « Always great »

This is my third visit to this property in the course of 25 years. To me it reflects what Mt. Desert Island is all about, natural but modern with all the convinces. The hotel has kept up with all modern deco trnds and technologies, and now they have a all new Breakfast room. You can park right in-front of your room. Staff is super friendly.

    3
    « Just ok »

Good location for visiting the Park. Overpriced for the quality. Was clean and with easy access. When checking out, I noticed being charged a higher price for the second night. Since I reserved both nights at the same time and with a credit card, it was disconcerting to discover they had changed my rate without telling me in advance. Only after much complaining did they change it back to what it should have been to start with.

    5
« Wonderful, Park By the Door Inn »

First of all, we're spoiled. We're used to staying at the The Bayview Inn, a gorgeous inn that's about as good as it gets. The 5 stars I'm giving to the Best Western takes in consideration other motels in its price range and in that category, this motel was perfect for us - lots of room, comfy beds, a modern room safe, great service, much better than average free breakfast, plenty of towels and just about anything you'd need. The only complaint might be the fact that if you're used to a nice desk for your computer, you'll get a table instead, and I'd suggest bringing your own power strip to hook it into. We had to unplug the microwave, so this isn't a business motel but a very nice family/traveler motel. Someone complained also that the 2 washers and 2 dryers are located outside with just a bit of overhead cover, but with the weather warm enough, I just didn't mind that. In fact, the fresh air was nicer than being in a cramped laundry area reeking of perfumed detergent. We didn't use the pool but it looked inviting. Our room was very quiet. We were in the farthest building back, in an end room, so really, VERY little noise and parking next to the door is great, especially when you're older and are a bit handicapped. We had 2 queen beds - very roomy. Some people might complain that the decor isn't modern, but we found it much more appealing and comfortable than a stark room with very modern furnishings where we stayed two nights of our trip. We missed the ocean view but then again, we were on the ocean or by it almost every day anyway, so not a huge loss. So, save some money and give the Best Western Acadia Park Inn a try. Its very close to a park entrance, which is nice too and we didn't mind the drive into town. If you need a taxi, we recommend Point 2 Point, very reasonable rates, I think about $12.50 plus tip to take us downtown.

Great place to stay. Friendly staff and very helpful. Quiet. Grounds neat and tidy. Great breakfast. Welcome gift was a nice surprise. Cookies in afternoon was awesome. Can't say enough positives about our stay.

    « Can't wait to visit again! »

I recently stayed there for 3 nights and I absolutely loved it! The front desk staff was friendly, kind and helpful. The room was spotless and had everything you would need- coffee maker, safe, microwave, and fridge. The bathroom was clean and the shower had great water pressure. The bed was so comfortable and was dressed with 4 pillows and warm linens. The free breakfast offered everything from make- your- own Belgian waffles to oatmeal, cereal, omelettes, sausage patties, corned beef hash, toast, bagels, muffins, juice, coffee, tea and fresh fruit. All in all , I found it to be a wonderful place to stay and look forward visiting again.

    5
    « Met all expectations »

This hotel met all of our expectations. Our room was clean and quiet. We had, free parking which was outside of our door. The superb continental breakfast was held in a separate, nearby building. The location was also less than 10 minutes from the entrance of Acadia.

    4
    « Pleasant and welcoming »

Our one night stay was pleasant and the staff very helpful. The rooms were clean, pleasantly decorated and the shower was so wonderful for my sore muscles. The surrounding area has many types of entertainment. The scenic vistas were amazing.

« Vaction to Acadia NP »

Hotel was quiet and clean. Bed was very uncomfortable. Breakfast was okay. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Closely located to Acadia NP. Did not find the free breakfast very good, however, I am sure it would have been adequate for most people..

    4
« Great place to stop »

The room was comfortable with a microwave and fridge. The bathroom was really large, clean and modern. It was about 10 minutes from Bar Harbor and the price was right. It had an awesome complimentary breakfast which made the price worth it. They also take AARP and AAA discounts which help with the overall stay. They also serve s'mores by the common outside area in the evening. A nice place.

    5
    « Most comfortable beds »

The beds at this Best Western were so comfortable they almost ruined our vacation. We didn't want to get out of them!! Seriously, the staff was awesome, the rooms were clean and functional, and the breakfast setup was complete.

« Best Western Acadia Park »

Good hotel at a value price. Close to park entrance (3 miles) and 6 miles from downtown Bar Harbor. Rooms were clean, breakfast normal for this type of hotel but of good quality. We would stay at this location again.

    4
« CLEAN, COMFORTABLE AND GREAT VALUE »

We stayed here for two nights while visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. At first I was worried that this motel might be too far from town but it turns out this was PERFECTLY located. Very close to the entrance to Acadia and just minutes from the bustling downtown of Bar Harbor. Hotel front desk exceedingly friendly and helpful. The rooms large and very clean. Beds comfy and bathroom clean with plenty of towels.Breakfast was the typical hotel fare but plentiful and the breakfast area clean and well run by two very friendly and also very helpful ladies who are great sources of info about the area. We had to leave early due to a medical emergency in our family back home or we would have stayed several days longer. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

    5
« HOTEL IN BAR HARBOR AREA »

my husband and I visited bar harbor area for the first time and we choose to stay at the best western hotel located about 4 miles from downtown. great location, great stay, great staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. breakfast was good, room was great and clean. other guests were friendly also. had an outdoor grill for our use and also a fire pit where we were able to make smores and sit around and get to know the other guests as we did.

  • 4
« Older place, well kept, comfortable »

This hotel is decent, especially for the price. Very friendly staff, helpful to find a local restaurant and hints about things to do. Breakfast is a little better and more variety than most chain hotels. About 10-15m from the town proper of Bar Harbor, but a lot less crazy out here. Rooms are clean and a little plain, but we didn't spend much time in the room so did not care at all. Queen bed was comfortable enough. Fresh warm cookies on arrival, a nice touch after a 13h drive. We would stay here again.

    5
    « Good Value »

Stayed here for two nights while visiting Acadia National Park. This hotel is just just outside the town of Bar Harbor. It is far enough away to escape the crowds, but a short ten-minute drive takes you to the town and Acadia National Park was even closer. The room was clean and had everything you need, and breakfast was adequate. Coffee and tea are available all day, and there are cookies available in the evening. The hotel is set back from the road, so rooms towards the back are very quiet.

    5
« Nice place at reasonable prices »

Very clean rooms, quiet atmosphere. Hike or bike in the Park and get a good night's sleep here. The breakfast is very good, with eggs, waffles, yogurts, cereals, muffins, coffee, juices all available. Staying here you're able to avoid the traffic and crowds of downtown Bar Harbor, as you can enter the Park on the NE side at the Hulls Cove entrance just a few miles from the Best Western.

    4
    « Very Good »

An easy to find very good location outside of downtown Bar Harbor and close to Acadia park entrance. with nice rooms and helpful staff. breakfast is very good with large seating area and good options to select from.

    4
    « Clean & Comfortable »

This hotel has clean, comfortable rooms. The beds are great and the refrigerator and microwave were nice to have during our stay. The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was clean and very welcome on hot days especially. The reason I didn't rate this a 5 was due solely to the breakfast that is included with the room. The food was what you would expect but the staff simply was unable to keep up with the demand. There were just 2 people working the breakfast area both mornings and they were completely overwhelmed and unable to put food out fast enough. The hotel was sold out both nights we were there but that isn't a surprise to the management and they should increase staffing on days the hotel is full. Overall a good stay but maybe we should have had breakfast in town.

    5
    « Well appointed room. »

Room was large and well appointed with microwave, fridge and safe. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Staff was pleasant. Would recommend as a reasonable place located off the road and outside the hubbub of the downtown area.

    « 4 night stay, leisure »

very nice room. plenty of space. very clean and well maintained. very good breakfast with a wide selection. very accommodating and helpful staff. good location, right on rte.3 leading to Bar Harbor. « Best Western »

Very comfortable, breakfast provided as well as snacks in the afternoon and s'mores at night. Helpful and friendly staff. Nice to have fridge, microwave and safe in the room. Room was well taken care of. We had a room out back very quiet in the evening. Even though it was the end of September it was still warm enough to enjoy the pool as it was heated to a very comfortable temperature.

    « great place »

clean, helpful staff, delicious breakfast, central location to acadia national park, easy access to free bus, quiet location, beautiful older trees, well-kept property, would stay here again any time, great easy access parking, heated pool for kids and adults

« A decent place that needs some work »

The room is so-so. Our first day we were greeted with fruit flies. They would hover over the sink. The night manager was unhelpful "it is a natural occurrence" and "the winter hasn't killed the bugs yet" but the day manager was on the ball and had maintenance empty the drain finding a bucket full of flies. Nice guy. Internet is spotty. We had to restart our kindles over and over. The rooms are clean and the entire facility is clean. Standard breakfast with frozen eggs, make your own waffles, etc. Wouldn't stay here again.

    4
    « Exceeded Expectations »

In the context of the very expensive Mount Desert Island/Acadia market, the Best Western was a good value and a pleasant property. It was extremely clean and the staff was especially pleasant and helpful. Its principal drawback is its distance from the primary attractions on the Island, and that probably is reflected in the price.

« Another great stay in Acadia »

Staff and room were outstanding! Enjoyed ourselves thoroughly for the workshop. The scones and cookies were delicious. Also, the scrambled eggs and maple sausage slices were great. Wish they were every day! Location for our workshop was super, as with four years ago.

    « Nice, but dated. »

We started our hotel stay with a warm reception by hotel employees. After checking us in and answering our questions, we were directed to our room (FYI - it is a Motel) and they invited us to participate in their nightly s'mores campfire. The room was nice - roomy but dated. There were a few repairs that needed to be made to the room, including a break in the shower wall where the handle meets the wall, some stains in the grout work, and an odor in the room. We overlooked these minor issues because the price was right - and the room was clean. The big sell to us was the included breakfast - they described it to us as "deluxe", and deluxe it was! There were many options to choose from, including hot breakfast items including a waffle station.

« Great place to stay; Good Breakfast, close to Acadia. Spent 4 nights »

I read Trip Advisor for a Bar Harbor hotels and thought the reviews on this hotel were good so I tried it. We stayed 4 nights. Although the outside looks old.. I was very pleased - Clean, very comfortable beds, updated and nice. Breakfast was a good start to the day, cookies at night and samores over a campfire at 7 pm. Would definitely stay here again. Hotel staff very friendly and gracious.

    « nice room »

this hotel is about 3 miles from downtown bar harbor. very quite room. comfortable beds. room could use a little updating which I understand is going to happen. nice breakfast room with good service. front desk personnel are lovely, rooms are cleaned well.

« Comfortable, clean and convenient »

Highly recommend this Best Western. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Great value. Good breakfast. Convenient location. Acadia is absolutely beautiful. Enjoy the park and the town!

« Would definitely stay again! »

The room was clean, the staff courteous and the grounds well cared for. The bw was just a quick drive from the park and bar harbor. We are usually very critical of where we stay and will have nothing but pleasant things to say about this stay. Thank you!

« Great place to stay »

This was a great choice of places to stay. Clean, very comfortable beds, updated and nice. Coffee maker in room plus microwave and refrigerator were put to good use. Breakfast was a good start to the day, and samores over a campfire a warm finish. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Best breakfast »

Well the size of this motel might be slightly intimidating the staff could not have been more gracious and it was the best breakfast that we had on our entire trip. The location was very convenient to Bar Harbor, the national Park, and Southwest Harbor

    5
« Comfortable and enjoyable stay »

This is a ?single floor' location with convenient drive up parking right at your room door. It is a few miles (approx 10 minutes) drive into downtown Bar Harbor. Front desk associates were very helpful with area information upon our check in. LL Bean sponsored area Free Island Explorer Shuttle bus will stop at the roadway area for trips into downtown Bar Harbor---lots of traffic during the summer and finding available parking in the downtown area can be an adventure of its own. Hotel Lobby area has coffee/tea available round the clock and cookies offered at 3PM?note there is a special on Wednesday's ?? whoopee pies?, which went quickly on our rainy Wednesday afternoon. Lobby area offered special ?blueberry' coffee which was delicious. There is a small playground area (tot lot) in the back of the property. Outdoor pool, but we didn't have an opportunity to include that during our stay. Our room was clean and very adequate for our family of 4 with 2 young adult boys. Enough linens, towels for all and toiletries provided. Bathroom sink (with shelf below) is outside of the door area of the shower/toilet area, which was very helpful for our family. Comfortable A/C, TV, Microwave, frig, hairdryer, coffee/tea maker, ironing board/iron in the room; WIFI worked fine. Full breakfast is provided in a separate building very near the rooms. There was absolutely everything(!!) you could think of (hot and cold) available for breakfast that was kept supplied and all was very good, but not in this area was the specialty blueberry coffee..? There were enough tables and chairs to accommodate small and large groups, as well as trays to take out back to your room. There is a very clean, well stocked Hannaford Supermarket in downtown Bar Harbor area with an adequate parking area. There are many things to do in the Bar Harbor area---see other Trip Advisor reviews for attractions in Acadia National Park, Abbe Museum, Atlantic Brewery, Bar Harbor Cellars Winery, Agamont Park, Shore Path, Village Green, shopping, restaurants (Mainely BBQ, Peppers pizza, West Street Café) in the area.

    « Impressed! »

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Acadia. It was VERY clean, spacious and comfortable. It was honestly one of the cleanest hotels we have stayed at. They offer complimentary breakfast which was decent and in a nice facility. Your room includes toiletries from Bath&Body Works, a microwave, a safe and a small fridge. The staff was friendly and professional. It is a short drive (maybe 8 minutes?) from the Acadia Park and downtown Bar Harbor. Not walking distance, but we liked being in a quieter location and away from the commotion in town. For being a more affordable hotel, this really impressed us. Thank you Best Western Acadia!

« Noisy is an understatement »

The room was clean and spacious, but if you stay hear, you better hope you don't have anyone staying in the adjoining rooms. You hear everything...I mean everything, from doors slamming to showers, to toilets flushing, to voices. Yes, you can hear every word that is uttered. So if lack of privacy iis what you strive for, stay here.

    « Her ladyship »

Second time we've chosen this spot as our Acadia home base. Quite adequate. Nothing fancy but spacious rooms, clean, working air conditioning, easy parking, and very cordial staff. Breakfast is just fine if you choose well. Will stay again.

« Best of Best Western! »

My family and I stayed here during the last full week of August and it exceeded our expectations! Room was extremely clean, the staff was helpful and friendly, and contrary to what some others have said I thought the continental breakfast was great! Very broad selection that changed slightly everyday.

    « Non-Smoking King Room #421 »

We loved staying at the Acadia Park Inn, Bar Harbor, ME! It had every amenity to make us comfortable. A very clean, large, comfortable room with new pillow-top mattress, micro, fridge, safe, Wi-Fi , color flat screen TV with cable. The bathroom facilities had all the conveniences and a fantastic Sunbeam shower head! It was about 4 miles to the Acadia Park Main Entrance and access to the free buss that travels throughout the Island.

« Wonderful hotel in Bar Harbor »

Everything about this hotel worked well for my husband and me: the king size bed was comfortable and had just the right bedding, the shower/toilet were separated from the sink area, parking was directly in front of our unit, there was a pool, play space for kids and a fire pit outside for families, the AC was quiet and didn't blow on us, and the room was clean. The breakfasts consisted of many choices and there was lots of seating available.

    5
    « Best Motel »

We were initially booked at the Bar Harbor Motel and when we arrived, we were told that an "emergency" developed and our room was not available. (Over booked?) They did make arrangements for us at the Best Western prior to our arrival and created a smooth ,but nerve racking stressful event. To our surprise, the Bar Harbor Motel did us a great favor. The Best Western was really great. The room was super clean, the service was impeccable and the included breakfast was truly varied and co plete for anyone's taste. A definite gem!

    4
« Nice Motel But Skip the Free Breakfast. »

This motel is located about 5 miles outside Bar Harbor. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. The pillow top king bed in our room was especially comfortable. Rooms come with refrigerators and microwaves. There is a heated outside pool as well as access to a washer and dryer for laundry. Rooms all have outside access. The continental breakfast tried but was lacking. Corned beef hash tasted like it came from a can without being cooked. The hash brown potatoes were barely thawed let alone cooked. Waffles were good but the line was long. They had two four slice tasters that either didn't toast or burnt your toast. Disappointing given the cost and effort they put into providing what could have been a nice breakfast. Breakfast tip: if there is no line make a waffle, get some sausage, grab a cup of coffee. The butter is chilled so it won't melt on the waffles. Avoid toasting anything. Breakfast is free, so I probably shouldn't complain at all. It is terrible that you stay at what really is a nice motel and all you can remember is the disaster at breakfast.

    « Great Stay »

Excellent service, very nice staff, very clean room, perfect for the tour of Acadia State Park. This hotel exceeds the usual breakfast and friendly way of Best Western. The rooms are very nice and spacious. Pool is available. You need a car to go around, especially when you wish to go to Bar Harbor. Little hint, do not forget to go to Bridge Street and walk the sand bar to the Island when there is low tide. The near by Charter house restaurant is great for dinner.

    5
« Excellent value for money for families »

We had gone with low expectations but really liked the place. Our 5 year old had a great time with their fireplace and smores The place is a little bit away from bar harbor so you need to be ready for a 20 minute drive in and out of town We would highly recommend this to others

    5
    « Vacation »

Both the rooms and the hotels where very clean when we arrived. The front desk was great at both places. this was our 4th or 5th stay at a Best Western. it was a joy to be there and all the workers where friendly and answered any questions we had. The breakfasts at both hotels we stayed at where well prepared and delicious. Will we stay again at a Best Western? Without a hesitation WE WILL.

    4
« Clean and awesome breakfast »

The place was perfect. We did not spend much time in the room so we were not after a five star room. The outside of the buildings look older but the inside of the rooms were definitely updated. They were very clean everyday. We had a room with two queen beds. The hotel was out of the way of the hustle and bustle of downtown Bar Harbor and very close to the park entrance. The breakfast was great. Lots of hot choices and lots of food. Definitely more than a continental breakfast. The pool was small but we were not there for the pool. Very close to the miniature golf course, one restaurant and an ice cream place.

    5
« Visit To Acadia National Park »

We stayed at the Best Western because of it's value and location to the Park entrance. The grounds were beautiful. The breakfast area was very large and the serving area was walled off from the dining area. Our room was perfect for our stay and was very clean. The staff were extremely professional helpful and very professional. They have a discount on a harbor tour which we took. It was fantastic. You can pay twice or more as much for a place with an ocean view, or you can stay here and enjoy great service and spend your savings on your hearts desire.

    5
    « A Step Above »

This Best Western is truly a step above. Great rooms with the most comfortable beds. A great pool and playground kept my grandson happy (and me too). Breakfast was awesome as were the S'more each evening. Acadia is a beautiful park and this Best Western made it even better

    « Great Choice »

Just enjoyed a 4 day stay in Bar Harbor and this hotel was perfect. Abit off the busy chaos of Bar Harbor yet close to everything. Very clean, very pleasant and helpful staff, great linens....all the things we like in a place to stay. Has an old fashioned "motel -motor lodge" feel which was perfect for our stay. Enjoyable outside spaces ro relax, awesome breakfast, and quiet. Will recommend AND will choose again when we return.

    5
« Great place to stay in Bar Harbor »

This is a very nice, clean hotel on the road to Bar Harbor that does not break the budget. The rooms are comfortable, the pool is nice, and the grounds are peaceful. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. They are able to give good ideas and advice on things to do in Acadia.

    5
« Clean, good location, nice breakfast »

Nice hotel located just north of the park entrance. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Room was clean and beds very comfortable. Breakfast a big plus so we could get a bite and head out for the day.

    3
« Pleasant motel style accommodation - a drive away from the action »

This is a motel style accommodation on the edge of Acadia national park. Rooms are spacious and clean with good air con. There is a small gated pool, a playground for small children, a laundry and free tea, coffee and cookies throughout the day. The hotel is around a 15 min drive from Bar Harbour - which can be difficult to park in and easy to get a ticket if you do. There is a shuttle bus (provided by the park) that stops outside the hotel. It runs every 30 to 60 mins depending on the time of day and stops at all of the hotels along the way. I found this a pain to be honest as we were not in control of when we went into the town/came home. The buses were crowded and over warm ( heating on full blast in mid August) and you need to be at the bus stop 20 mins before it left to guarantee getting on. Breakfast was of average standard and there was free wi-fi - always useful. A good base to explore the area but it isn't in the heart of the action

    « Great setting »

This hotel is a couple of miles from the Acadia National Park entrance. The grounds are pristine and well cared for. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bedding is fresh and comfortable as is the bed. The room have great lighting. The breakfast has many choices and the dining area is large and comfortable. The staff work hard to keep everything stocked and clean. The location is a short drive to Bar Harbor shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay again.

    4
« Very nicely furnished, clean and spacious room »

The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but our room was newly decorated with very nice furniture and furnishings. Very clean with a big comfy bed and a spacious bathroom with new fixtures, etc. I would stay here again! This hotel is also very close to the park

    5
« Perfect place to stay »

We loved the Acadia Best Western! Our check-in was very quick and easy because the staff had our room key and information already printed out. We found our room to be very clean with quite a bit of room. This hotel is about 13 miles from Bar Harbor and we were thankful that is was. After the noise and congestion in downtown Bar Harbor, it was nice to relax at the hotel with peace and quiet. There is a heated outdoor pool and a play area for children. At night the hotel has a smores party. We would stay here again in a heart beat. There are several good restaurants not far away.

    4
    « good location »

This hotel was the least expensive one I found during a very heavy tourist season in Bar Harbor. It was perfectly located near to the downtown area and Acadia National Park. The room was clean and the breakfast was exceptional. Good value for the price.

    5
« Comfortable Quality With A Great Price »

The room at the Best Western Acadia Park Inn was a great price alternative to the pricier hotels in the Bar Harbor area. If you don't mind staying a short driving distance away from the downtown area, this is for you. When we arrived, the front desk staff were friendly. They gave our children each a moose stuffed animal and a book. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. There is a pool on location that is a great option when you have kids. We would definitely recommend this hotel and return there in the future.

    4
    « Maine Adventure »

The grounds are clean, staff is friendly. The room is clean! The beds are very comfortable. We have a double with 2 queens. Breakfast buffet was very plentiful with many options to choose from. It was a rainy weekend but they said the pool was 85 degrees.

    5
« Acadia National Park trip »

We had a great time visiting Acadia National Park. The Best Western Acadia Park Inn is very close to the park entrance, Bar Harbor and places to eat. The staff very was friendly and helpful with all questions about the Inn and things to do in the area.

« A great option in pricey Bar Harbor »

This is a large motel located 2 miles from the national park entrance and 4 miles from downtown Bar Harbor. We had no trouble finding parking downtown but did, on the advice of hotel staff, always grab the first spot we saw. There really isn't anything in walking distance of the hotel but there are a couple of restaurants on the way into town. The breakfast selection was extensive. The room was a bit musty at first but the smell dissipated as the A/C ran. The room was clean and large. The beds were comfortable. We would stay again.

    5
    « Acadia Gem »

As always, a clean comfortable place to stay. Great breakfast room. Wonderful service and a good value. They have a wonderful and very easy access to Acadia National Park. We have been staying at this Best Western on and off over the last ten years.

    5
« Sleeping in the Park »

We were visiting the east coast and had planned a trip to Acadia National Park. We reserved a room at Best Western and only could get one night however the staff at Best Western worked with us and others and allowed us to stay another night without having to move rooms. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the breakfast is outstanding.

    « Best Western Stay »

We stayed at the Best Western Acadia Park Inn and the only complaint was that our room was not ready at the 3:00 check-in time. Everything else was a positive. The rooms were nice, well-kept, and the continental breakfast menu had different hot items each day. The pool was outdoor and heated and it was wonderful at the end of the hot day.

« National Park Slender at your door!! »

What a beautiful area. Acadia National Park is so spectacular!! The breakfast was good, waffles for everyone! Even though it was crowded it still flowed. Pool was a nice break after hiking and biking. Clean and quiet room.

« Most Personable Place to stay in all of Bar Harbor ! »

I was pleasantly surprised at the level of cleanliness, and service I received at the Best Western in Bar Harbor. As many folks know finding a good value is not easy during the summer months in this area ,but this location is a gem. GM Jane Koehling is out and greeting guests during the very busy FREE breakfast hours, making sure that the guests feel welcomed. Just a chip shot from Acadia National Park, and Downtown Bar Harbor, this Inn is top notch !

    5
« Maybe the best Motel I ever stayed at, a great value »

Best Western is about 15 min from Bar Harbor but is nicely located to visit the park and town. We spent a week here, it was a great motel, super value and very well kept. The rooms have been renovated and have a fridge, microwave, dinette, and good linens with comfortable beds. The breakfast is awesome, cereal, oatmeal, waffles, eggs, pastries, they have everything and the dining room is nice, but can get busy at 8am so go early or wait until after 8:30. The owners were super nice, they gave our kids a stuffed moose each and a book about Maine, and gave us a coffee mug. There is smores every night 630 to 730pm at the firepit, there is a heated pool, laundry facility, a renovated playground for kids, and it is close to mini golf, the brewery, the winery and several restaurants. Highly recommended for families.

    4
« Pleasantly surprised - nice rooms and exceptional staff »

I wasn't sure what to expect but room turned out great and staff was very professional but also very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and spacious and updated recently. Free breakfast every morning was very good. Place was quiet and close to main entrance to Acadia National Park and not too far from Bar Harbor shops. We enjoyed our stay there although beds were too hard for us. We should have spoke up since we found out afterwards they have double pillow top beds which would have been more suitable for us. Regardless the stay was great and we would stay there again if we are in the area.

    « annual vacation »

This hotel was a great place to stay for our annual get-away. In a quiet spot, there was no need to worry about heavy traffic noises interrupting the quiet. The Continental breakfast is good for those who are breakfast "eaters" with a good selection of "eats" Since we are 2nd shifters, it was a bit difficult for us to get up that early. [but, none of us are big breakfast eaters anyway] however the times we did make it over, there was plenty to choose from, and the staff was very friendly. This is a great location that is really close to Acadia National Park which was our vacation destination this year, Would definitely recommend this spot to others, and we are planning on a return trip in the future.

    5
    « Awesome stop »

Great roadside inn. Clean, well maintained, friendly staff, free breakfast. As a family, it was great to have the car right outside the door. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms well sound insulated. Very comfortable night for a family of five. Highly recommended.

    « New England gem »

Our two day stay was very comfortable. Clean! Perks include heated outdoor pool and fresh cookies in the afternoon. Evenings 6:30-7:30 there is seating around an open pit fire and you can make s'mores (and meet some other travelers). Close to town and Acadia Nat'l Park. Great for families and seniors alike.

    5
    « Excellent Staff »

Clean, great location, very friendly staff that go above and beyond expectations. There are a lot of amenities such as wi-fi, playground, pool, fantastic breakfast and Smore's nights for the kids. Highly recommend this hotel.

    « Can't go wrong here »

I stayed here for 4 nights. Well located near Acadia national park and Bar Harbor. Spacious rooms, free breakfast with a good variety of items. The room had a map of the area on the bed. Plenty of outlets for charging devices, clean, good shower, comfortable bed. Everything was very clean. I highly recommend this motel.

« Best of its kind »

I have stayed in a few Best Westerns and this one is by far the best. From a distance, it gives off an appearance of a very basic place, but once you come closer you realize how clean and inviting the place is. Rooms are much more comfortable than the outside of the building suggests, bathrooms are new and everything else is spotless. Pool is heated and clean and most importantly not over chlorinated like most hotel pools are. Fresh coffee and cookies at the front desk all the time, staff is as friendly as you can imagine. Picnic area around the back with chairs and tables, good place to wind down before going to bed. If I'm ever in Bar Harbor again, I'm coming straight back here, not even going to look for another place.

    5
    « PERFECT PLACE! »

This is by far the nicest, friendliest, cleanest BEST WESTERN ever! The continental breakfast is fantastic. The rooms are very comfortable and very clean, with nice comfortable beds. The stay is Close to town, shops and Restaurants, and the beautiful Acadia Park. Very kid friendly. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

« Nice hotel not far from bar harbor and acadia park »

This hotel is a very nice hotel for a good price. It is located about 10-15 minutes drive by car, from bar harbor. Acadia Park within 10 minutes. Rooms are clean and also the pool is very clean. Breakfast is a you can expect from best western. It is not the best you will ever have , but it is enough and fresh. The beds were perfect and the people at the reception were very helpfull to answer our questions.

    « Week at Acadia »

Excellent location- easy to access the National Park and Bar Harbor. The rooms were recently upgraded, firm beds, clean bathrooms, and excellent service. There is a washer/dryer available (great when traveling with kids) and a pool. Our reservations included breakfast which was prepared by a lovely woman. Overall, great price, location and service.

« Great Family Friendly Hotel Located Close to Downtown Bar Harbor »

Best Western Acadia Park Inn is conveniently located a short distance from downtown Bar Harbor and the local bus stops at this site so you can catch a ride into town without having to find parking. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The property is very clean and the owners are putting alot of money into renovating the rooms and the grounds. The breakfast was amazing! Fresh, home-cooked food with a great selection. And warm cookies are at the office every evening. There is a brand new playground and grilling area. The outdoor pool and deck area was also very nice. We would definitely stay again if we ever visit Maine again.

    5
    « Great Stay! »

« Great location and very quiet, clean rooms. »

This hotel has a great location to intown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park ! The room was spacious enough for 2 ( had a King bed room ) , very clean. The free continental breakfast is a nice added bonus. We had a room on back side away from main road, it was VERY quiet there.

    « Spotless Room/Excellent Staff/Awesome Stay!!!! »

I work in the Hospitality business so new what I would be looking for when I checked in. The Front Desk Staff were friendly and efficient, the breakfast room Staff were exceptional...there was never an empty food item, the Housekeeper kept my room spotless and the Management was beyond professional and always there to assist with any issues. I would definitely stay there again. This is what you are looking for when you go on vacation with your family. There is even s'mores by the playground at night and fresh hot cookies all day long in the Lobby. Breakfast has a great variety.

« Best BW I've ever been to... »

This place really surprised me and my wife. Everything in the Bar Harbor area is so overpriced but I actually felt I got my $$ worth here. Sure its not downtown BH, or right around the corner, but it is close enough for sure, and very close to Acadia National Park entrance. The rooms were nice and large, old school motel style, park right in front of your own room. The bathrooms have recently been renovated so it made the room feel nice and refreshed. The bed was comfortable, and the a/c worked well considering the heat and humidity that was going on when we visited. Fridge, micro, and coffee maker in the room. The breakfast was in a building right next to the lobby building, and had everything you'd want to get your day started. Oh, and if you check in during evening hours, you get some fresh cookies waiting for you, oh yeah! Just don't arrive too late, they close up (call for hours). This is right in line what you hope for when you book a 2.5 star hotel, best we've stayed at in this category in a long long time.

    5
    « Acadia Trip »

We really enjoyed our stay at Acadia Best Western. This hotel is an older building but has been nicely updated. The rooms seemed clean and the beds were comfortable. We did not hear any noise from other guest.

« Superb value, great location, and outstanding staff! »

Pleasantly surprised at this Best Western...great location near Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor; extremely clean; personable, professional and friendly staff in all areas; fine breakfast included in price; nice pool, very comfortable room! The outside of the hotel is fairly standard for the area, but room was nicely appointed, comfortable and immaculate. Will stay again!

« Very good place to stay »

This is a good place to stay on Desert Island. The rooms and the grounds are kept very clean, rooms are big (we had plenty of space for a family of 4), the price is much better comparing with staying in Bar Harbor proper, and it has a great location less than 5 minutes from the Acadia National Park visitor center. We found it a great base of operations for exploring the island and the various sections of the national park, including Schoonic on the mainland, which was 50 minutes away. Also Bar Harbor is only 10 minutes away by car and we never had any problems with parking the car in the streets for free. You can also take the free Island Explorer bus to/from Bar Harbor and the national park. We didn't realize this but this hotel is not a high-rise. It's a motel, really. We did not find that a problem (you can park your car right in front of your room), but to us the pictures of the hotel did not make that clear. The free breakfast options are great: the waffle makers were a great hit with our children. While we were there the place was very busy and the breakfast room, which is in a separate building, was very busy but eventually we found a place to sit. All in all a great place to stay on the island itself. I can recommend this place.

    5
« The Place to Stay near Bar Harbor »

Highly recommend! Stayed for 4 nights. Extremely clean, the beds were fabulous, and the breakfast from 6:30-10:00 is excellent! The staff is helpful and professional. You can tell from the top down, excellence is expected. They even offered a cooking of smores at their fire pit for children one evening. Nice frill. Our room came with a safe, microwave, and refrigerator. Only minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

    5
« Very clean, easy access to Bar Harbor without paying the large rate »

Room was very clean and in great condition. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts that I have had recently. I liked that it was in a separate building and had plenty of seating. Pool was clean and there was a playground and an area with a fire pit if you wanted to spend time at the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful by providing literature about Bar Harbor and things to do. The only down side was there was not a fitness center but we walked outside and I guess when you are close to Acadia National Park they do not think a fitness center is necessary.

    5
« Best Value in the Area »

We've chosen to stay here due to the price since this is Bar Harbor the room rates are pretty steep. I was very impressed with the room size and spotless bathroom I mean for the price you can't go wrong. Check-in was a breeze they also have the schedule for the shuttle bus that takes you around the park for free which conveniently stops right outside the hotel. Breakfast selection was good and service was excellent. Also happy with the wifi strength. I'd definitely come back and stay with them again!

« A little expensive, but worth it. »

I'm often hesitant to stay in best westerns, unless I'm out west. This one is beautiful, exactly as they are out west. Spacious rooms. Microwave, fridge, nice large tv. Pristine. Honestly the cleanliness of the hotel is outstanding, coming from a bit of a germaphobe that's saying something. New bathrooms as of July 2016, huge tubs. Excellent toiletries. Staff was so kind, knowledgable of the area, absolutely perfect. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was such a great stay, I'd love to live there. Will gladly work to stay, lol!

« Breakfast and location keeps us coming back »

While the rooms are clean and satisfactory, the location is fantastic for any visit to Acadia and Bar Harbor! Most of the staff was quite friendly. Breakfast was awesome once again!!! Roughly a 5 minute drive to park entrance and under 10 minutes to reach the town of Bar Harbor. Stayed at the same hotel last year...this year I feel our room was cleaner and in better condition. My kids loved the free cookies and tea during the day.

« Good value near Acadia »

I stayed here for 2 nights on a trip to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Not to far from the Acadia Park visitor center but a little far from Bar Harbor (about a 15min drive). Room was clean with parking right outside your door. Lots of variety to choose from with the free breakfast(including 3 waffle makers and different choices of toppings available) and plenty of seating in the breakfast area. The lady at the front desk was very helpful in highlighting different points of interest in the area on a map. I'd probably get a hotel closer to Bar Harbor(some of them have shuttles to downtown) if I visited the area in the future. Parking in downtown Bar Harbor is very difficult and it's a bit of drive to the Best Western. Overall a good value for the area.

    « Decent »

Okay location. About a 13 minute drive to bar harbor or anywhere else. Nothing special about the room or pool. Breakfast was bland and tasteless. Staff was extremely nice and helpful at the front desk. Pretty decent but nothing to write home about.

« Great stay for value and access to Acadia and Bar Harbor »

Impressed with the cleanliness, staff and breakfast! Enjoyed a 2-night stay and was very impressed with everything. Great beds too! Joel at the front desk was extremely helpful in giving insights into biking the park and others with places to eat in Bar Harbor. Had a blast! Such a gorgeous area of our country! Loved Bar Harbor Maine!

« Great hotel for Acadia visit »

We had a great stay at Best Western Acadia Park Inn. The hotel is convenient to Acadia National Park and the village of Bar Harbor (which is extremely cool!!!!). We traveled with our 12 year old son so the pool was a priority-lovely heated temp and very well maintained pool and patio area-both hotel and pool in sunny location unlike some of the cabin-style accommodations in the area. Free Island Explorer shuttle is great and picks you up right at the front of the hotel. Staff is wonderful-very friendly and knowledgeable, housekeeping does an excellent job. Hotel is quiet and family-oriented, met many others traveling and enjoying Acadia. Rooms simple but clean and in great shape-our bathroom must have been recently remodeled and was super-very clean and nice one-piece tub/shower with lots of shelves. FUN FUN FUN-we have already recommended it to a friend and would definitely stay here again!

« Very nice and clean hotel »

Liked that the hotel had 2 washers and 2 dryers! All the rooms were very easy to get your bags in and out of! You could park right by your door and unload. The pool was clean and at a nice temp. We would stay at this hotel all over again before going anywhere else! Very happy with our stay!

« Great Hotel Near a Great National Park (Acadia) »

Very large, clean, comfortable rooms with small refrigerator and microwave, nice swimming pool, great breakfeast (more than just continental as advertised). Staff all very friendly and courteous. Front desk very helpful with recommendations and helping to navigate the area. Hotel is not in the downtown area and you have to drive or take the free island shuttle, there is a stop right out front, to Acadia National Park or the downtown area. Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting the area. Rooms are motel style, single floor, drive up rooms. Pay self-service Washer & Dryer available. Downtown Bar Harbor very crowded, mostly restaurants, bars, and tourist shops. Lots of good seafood restaurants with nice water views outside of the downtown area. Acadaia National Park is magnificent. Lots of little parking spots to explore different areas. The 4:30 summer sunrise happening at the top of Cadillac Mountain draws a big crown and parking can be tight. We did one of the horse drawn carriage rides in the park, to be honest a bit boring, on gravel roads under the canopy the whole time, not much views, no wildlife.

    « Spectacular »

I absolutely loved my stay over here. Rooms were super clean, the location was perfect, and the place was priced right. The breakfast was incredible. They had eggs, different kinds of meat every day, waffles, a host of breads and cereal. The breakfast area was quite spacious and looked like it was recently furnished. The staff was great as well. In addition to being extremely gracious, I saw them helping other guests out at several points during my stay. As an example, I witnessed a couple that walked in looking for a room on a sold out night. Rather than this being the end of the story, the front desk volunteered to find them a room at another hotel. Not only did the front desk call a competitor hotel to look for a room, they also helped the couple make the reservation (and then provided directions so they could get there). Now that's first class service. I was there on vacation, and found the place to be very family-friendly. I would absolutely stay here again.

« Great Place to Stay »

We were extremely satisfied with our stay at the Best Western in Bar Harbor. The comfort level of the bed was superb. They provide a breakfast with a great variety of breakfasts items to choose from and each morning they change the items they offer for breakfast. It is also very convenient to Acadia NP and a shuttle bus runs from their driveway to the NP's visitor's center.

    « Great family hotel »

I recently stayed at the Best Western Acadia Park Inn along with my husband and two boys (12 and 15). What a nice place to stay while visiting Acadia NP. The motel is nestled in a wooded lot and is nicely landscaped. The rooms are clean and well appointed with a microwave, fridge, ironing board and iron (not that I ironed anything!!) Beds and pillows were very comfortable. The daily breakfast included with the room had many choices including hot items (eggs, sausage, home fries, etc,), prepared oatmeal with a variety of toppings, Belgian waffles, cereals and a variety of breads, bagels and pastries. The pool is clean but on the small side. If you are looking for a resort to hang out at all day, this is probably not the right place for you. However, if you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to sleep with a hearty breakfast included while visiting beautiful Aacadia, this is a great choice! I would definitely go back and would recommend it to friends and family.

« Great spot for our Family Reunion »

We had a recently held our family reunion on Mount Desert Island and stayed at the Best Western Acadia Park Inn. We worked with Janet Koehling (GM) to make the arrangements for 40 of us. Working with Jane, we were able to secure rooms for everyone at a reasonable rate and made use of the breakfast room to hold our nightly meals and gatherings. I and everyone in my family were extremely pleased. The motel rooms were a good size (we were in the 500's unit) and very clean. The rooms include breakfast for 2 with an additional charge for extra persons. The breakfast was plentiful and similar to what you might find at a Hampton Inn. The breakfast area for our nightly gatherings was a wonderful room, large enough for our family and very comfortable. The Jane, Teenia, and the rest of staff were great. They went out of their way to welcome us and ensure we had everything we needed. The hotel is also in a great location with easy access to all the different activities MDI has to offer. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    « Near Bar Harbor »

Nice hotel near Bar Harbor but far enough from crowded downtown Completely updated, very clean Full complimentary breakfast bar, cookies every afternoon On shuttle route so don't need 2 drive in & worry about parking in town (Be sure 2 make shuttle drivers stop on return trip as not official stop.) Nice restaurants nearby, recommend Chart Room & Log Cabin

« This is the place! »

This hotel is very nice. Very well organized and friendly. Had a cup of hot tea and a cookie every time we returned after a day of adventure. What a hotel should be! Location was perfect to go to Acadia National Park (about 5 minutes to entrance).

    « Friendly great stay »

Staff friendly with good advice through the our stay. Breakfast good BW meal, very organized with lots of room. Room good, clean, great wifi, TV good service, easy access to highway, close to town and parks. Lots of restaurants nearby, ask for advice. This is a comfortable friendly BW, wonderful for a few days.

    « Great accommodations! »

This was our first time in Bar Harbor and we would definitely stay here again! It has an amazing breakfast with a lot of variety, great location, and wonderful customer service! The grills and picnic area were an additional bonus!

    5
    « Wonderful Accomodation »

Excellent location, wonderful amenities. Great Breakfast! The grounds provided an environment to see small outdoor life and many birds. We enjoyed the pool and would easily pick this hotel upon returning to Bar Harbor.

« Standard but away from the noise [and congestion] »

The BW Acadia is located a few miles out of town which turns out to be a plus,,,and you can still easily access the Nat'l Park,Bar Harbour downtown, the other side of the island [quiet side, bays, lobster pounds, and less tourist], or venture downtown to Bar Harbour. Staff was mature, smiling, and helpful! Price I thought was a little high for no frills BW- but then again it's tourist season and probably similar for area and time of year.

« Best place to stay in Bar Harbor! »

This was our third time in Bar Harbor and we were so thrilled to find this hotel. The price is much less than the ones closer to town but it's only a 5 minute ride by car and definitely worth it. We were greeted by Joel, the friendliest man you'll ever meet. The first thing he told us was to help ourselves to the never ending supply of cookies and hot beverages! He even went so far as to pour my husband a cup of coffee while he was sitting in the lobby using the computer! He really made us feel like we were company visiting his house! Jane and Mary were also so helpful and friendly. The rooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable. The free breakfast had much more than most hotels offer. Make your own waffles, eggs, sausages, cereals, oatmeal, fresh fruits, yogurts, muffins, bagels, hard boiled eggs, etc. Really surprising for a small hotel. Heated pool and playground for children. You won't be disappointed with this hotel. It's not a fancy hotel but I'd still rate it 5 stars!!!!!!!! We really felt so welcome and comfortable here!

« Best Deal in Bar Harbor »

This is the place to stay in Bar Harbor if you want reasonable rates and a clean place to stay. We stayed for 3 nights and were extremely satisfied. The hotel is much less expensive than other hotels in town. It's a 5 mile drive from the main part of town but well worth the 5 minutes it takes to get there. The staff is the friendliest you will ever encounter. They all go out of their way to make sure you're happy and have everything you need. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. Free breakfast was excellent and included make your own waffles, sausages, fruit, eggs, muffins, oatmeal, cereals, potatoes, hash, hard boiled eggs and much more. Outdoor pool was heated and very clean. Free cookies and hot beverages greet you in the lobby! Really a great place to stay. Make sure to see Joel behind the desk. The friendliest person you'll ever meet. My husband was using the computer in the lobby and Joel came over and poured him a cup of coffee! Jane the manager and Mary also aimed to please. Can't say enough about this place. Don't waste your money on the pricier fancy hotels in town. This place is great!

    5
    « Perfection! »

This hotel is perfectly located just minutes away from Acadia park and close enough to Bar Harbor to enjoy the shops and restaurants and still have a quiet place to rest when your ready to relax. The room was immaculate; smells very fresh and beds are super comfy! Hot breakfast has a good selection and service is pleasing. Cute little park for the kids to play after being on the road was a plus! The pool was awesome! Joel, thank you for booking our stay and being so welcoming when we arrived. Your instructions and recommendations around town were most enjoyable and made our stay a complete. Thank you for your outstanding hospitality and thank you Best Western for providing a more than well kept facility.

« Awesome stay: highly recommend »

The cleanest, most spacious and accommodating Best Western I've ever stayed. No problems and I would definitely return. The beds were very comfortable, the showers and sink area were clean. The breakfast was more than continental and very good.

    « Great vacation accomodations! »

Fantastic place to stay during our vacation! Grounds were spotless, staff was helpful and friendly, and loved the breakfast!!! Located right on route 3 before getting to Bar Harbor allowed some peace and quiet, yet still close to the park and downtown Bar Harbor. Overall a fantastic value!!

« Nice place to stay for a reasonable rate with good people »

The Best Western Hotel in Bar Harbor is a nice stay that will exceed your expectations. Bar Harbor can be expensive but the Best Western gives you all you need to enjoy the area and a comfortable bed to sleep in with a good breakfast. All employees I encountered were friendly and helpful.

    « Friendly and Gracious »

The staff were over the top. Loved our stay there. Best place of our vacation. Quiet, clean, location was good. The ladies in the office were so sweet and the ladies in the dinning area were so gracious

    « Pleasure »

Recently remodeled or built? Everything was brand new. We Stayed at the King suite. Parking right outside of room made it very convenient. Signed up for rewards, got a great deal. Breakfast room was very clean. If all rooms are like the king suite I would recommend

« Nice place to stay »

This hotel was close enough to downtown Bar Harbor for an easy drive to and from activities. The staff were very pleasant and helpful with directions and tips. Breakfast was provided in a very nice room. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Internet was provided.

    3
« Average hotel great location »

Very clean hotel. Great free breakfast. Hotel was overpriced, but you are paying for the location. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. A crib is 10$ a night which no one told me upon booking. I don't appreciate hidden fees. This is an average hotel, but we had a comfortable restful night. Microwave and mini fridge in room which is a plus.

« Night away at Acadia »

We planned a night stay at Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor and found that the Best Western had rooms available, and offered AAA discount. The lobby of the hotel is very inviting and beautifully decorated. The front desk staff at check-in were very friendly. We booked two separate rooms with king beds. Our room was newly renovated, and my daughter's room was nice but didn't look like it was as updated as ours yet. Bed was very comfortable which is always a plus! The bathroom area was wonderful...I liked the sink being separated area from the toilet and shower. This hotel offers continental breakfast...this is more than the typical continental breakfast. The breakfast seating area was very nice, and the food selection was great! The two staff members working the morning of our stay kept the area very clean, and will stocked with food. The front desk staff during our check-out were very friendly, and made it easy to check-out. Will come back again, and hopefully try out the pool and sit at the tables near the pool (which looked like a nice area to relax).

« Great motel near Bar Harbor »

This motel is old fashioned but it was a great place to stay at a good rate. The rooms are actually quite large. The cable has a lot of channels (including TVMonde - it was nice to have French tv for my vacation!). The pool is nice and decent temperature. The breakfast was good - they had scrambled eggs and meat, and then a variety of pastries, muffins, etc. The front desk staff during the morning/day were very friendly and offered great advice. The explorer bus that goes around the island actually will stop in front of the hotel. Definitely would stay here again!

    5
    « Pleasantly Surprised! »

We had a wonderful 4 night stay in this hotel. The breakfast is pretty standard but we appreciated the variety. Each morning there was something new to try. Room was clean and staff was really friendly.

« Five Stars All The Way »

Because I travel frequently for business, I often stay at very fancy hotels. I stay at many other hotels because I travel often for pleasure too. Best Western Acadia Park puts many very many fancy hotels to shame. The staff is terrific (they gave me many good location suggestions), the room is spacious and maintained very well, and the continental breakfast is actually a lot more than just continental. It included eggs, meat, waffles, and lots of other stuff too. The free coffee and cookies is a nice addition too. Oh yes, the rates are very reasonable too! Best Western Acadia Park is located very close to the Hulls Cove entrance to Acadia, and conveniently on ME 3 which leads right into Bar Harbor and many other good locations.

    4
« Best Western's the best place to stay for the location and value! »

First of all, was extremely happy that I was able to get a room a days before the 4th of July weekend, I had stayed at the Acadia location before and was just as happy with the service this time too. Lots had improved, such as the breakfast hall, with lot more food, Make your own waffles!!!! the lobby offered many different refreshments too. I definitely will stay here again next time too, so close to all the area attractions.

    5
    « Clean & Comfortable »

We stayed here for 3 nights while we visited the Bar Harbor area and Acadia National Park. Very clean and comfortable accommodations. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Only 5 min drive from the park entrance and about a 10 min drive to Bar Harbor. The continental breakfast was great. A separate building just for breakfast. They had pastries, yogurt, boiled eggs, cereal, coffee, juice, biscuits and gravy, eggs, self make waffles, bagels, toast, oatmeal, etc...very good selection. The staff was friendly and courteous. They even called us to make sure we were on our way. There was a heated pool but we never used it. The hotel looked a bit deceiving when we pulled up because its an older property and we were not sure what to expect when we got to our room but we were pleasantly surprised. It was very clean and spacious. It had a coffee maker, coffee, microwave and a refrigerator. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again if ever back in the area.

« Great motel just outside of Bar Harbor »

We stayed 7 nights and were very pleased with the location and the room. Swam in the pool several times. Very nice after hiking in the park. Very good continental breakfast. Clean room. Good AC and good Wi-fi.

« Don't judge this marvelous book by the cover! »

So glad we found this wonderful Best Western. It's in the old style of "motels", single stories sprawling around a large property and could stand some exterior updates. But the rooms are spacious, clean, and the free breakfast is the best we've had in a long time! This is about a 8 minute drive from the Visitor's Center at Acadia and the perfect home base for a trip there. Nice looking pool and the staff was exceptionally friendly. Free tea, coffee, and cocoa in the evenings. We would definitely stay here again!

    2
« Bad smell in the room. the staff is great »

The room has a disaster smell, I don't recommend. I wanted to run a way. The staff is great and very helpful. The beds are comfortable for us and for the children but the room is very sad and stiffing. The bathroom is not so bad but I need shoes to go inside

    5
« Gem in Acadia Park »

We stayed at this Best Western (BW) for 3 nites while visiting the sites in Bar Harbor. This property is the best BW we have stayed in throughout our travels. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. They accommodated early check-in without issue, and offered coffee/tea all day with cookies in the afternoon. Upon request, the staff will make fresh popcorn in the evening. This BW has a separate, spacious breakfast room. The breakfast offered a range of options - cereals, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, etc. The staff also brought around warm scones or freshly baked goods. The property is an easy drive into town ... ~ 10 mins from the center of town and 5 minutes from the entrance of Acadia Park. The Best Western Acadia Park Inn offers the full package - good locations, wonderful property, and welcoming staff!

    5
    « Everything u need & more! »

Great place to stay! Very welcoming & helpful staff. Free Breakfast has something for everyone: eggs, waffle station, fruit, variety of breads/muffins, yogurt...cannot leave hungry! While the property is older, they have done a nice job updating it. Laundry facilities, pool, playground, fridge & microwave in room. It's nice & quiet.. Minus is that it's away from town...few restaurant to choose from nearby so had to go into town for dinner & parking can be tough to find at popular times. Definitely recommend this place!

    4
    « One Minor Blemish »

B W Bar Harbor was up to usual B W standard. Only criticism, which can be easily corrected by altering layout, was the waffle maker being located in a corner, where only one person could get access to it and associated ingredients at a time.

« Fabulous place to stay when visiting Acadia NP »

We found a great deal for a room with 2 queen beds and were totally happy with our 2-night stay. Location: It is right on State Hwy 3 on Mount Desert Island heading into Bar Harbor but it isn't in Bar Harbor itself ? this meant there was no crazy traffic or difficulty parking! Plenty of car parking on site. Reception: The staff were friendly and helpful, and the reception lobby had some couches to relax, newspapers, a computer terminal, and free coffee/tea and cookies! There were plenty of brochures to browse with ideas for activities in Acadia NP. What a warm welcome! Facilities: Free wifi was fantastic! There was a swimming pool but we didn't use it. There are vending machines around the site selling snacks and drinks, as well as ice machines. Breakfast was included, and boy, we were impressed! There was enormous variety: hot savory food (eg. eggs, sausages, oats where you can add your own toppings), hot sweet food (eg. make-your-own waffles with your own toppings), different cereal varieties, sweet pastries, fresh fruit or fruit salad, muffins and different breads for toasting, and an assortment of drinks. It was awesome ? a great way to stock up before a day of hiking in Acadia NP! Room: Really spacious with plenty of storage, a bar fridge, in-room safe, and a microwave ? extremely handy and convenient for late night snacks and keeping drinks cool for our hikes. The desk and chairs were great, and there were plenty of charging points. They even had a ?welcome kit? upon arrival including important maps and tourist activity suggestions. The bed was super comfortable. Bathroom: The toilet and shower were in a separate room. Plenty of towels and great amenities including a make-up remover towel! The hand basin, ironing board, more spare towels, and a hanging area for clothes were in an ante-room before the toilet and shower. This meant that someone could be using the sink or putting clothes away whilst someone else was in the shower/toilet. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at BW Acadia Inn and would have no hesitation in recommending it as a great place to stay if you are visiting Acadia NP!

    « Quiet, tranquil »

So glad we stayed here instead of staying in the midst of the frenetic, overly-crowded center of Bar Harbor. Hotel is clearly CAREFULLY maintained which is always reassuring. There is no ocean view, but the hotel is surrounded by forest and because the hotel wings are all one-story, there is no bad room in the place. Breakfasts were a bit better than I've come to expect from most 'continental breakfasts' and the all staff (desk, reception, housekeeping) were friendly and willing to help by offering answers to any questions.

    5
    « Honeymoon in Acadia »

I loved it here. Not too expensive. We had a continental breakfast of eggs and other choices everyday - better choices than dessert breads and muffins. I told someone we were on our honeymoon, and so we came back to find sparking cider with wine glasses and a card signed by the hotel staff. Wow, the more expensive hotel we stayed at earlier didn't even do that.

    5
« Wonderful place to stay! »

This was our first trip to Acadia. Having had positive experiences with other Best Westerns, we chose this one. We were greeted by a very pleasant and helpful staff. Our accommodations exceeded our expectations! Our room was very spacious and clean. Best of all, the mattress was great!!! Since my wife had to work we were very pleased that the Wifi connectivity was excellent! Breakfast was very good and the facility was neat and clean. A big thank you to all that made our stay memorable! All in all, when we return to Acadia, we would like to stay here.

« Best deal in town »

Overall a really nice stay. Good room good service. Even though the room was the closest to the highway it was far enough off of the road to not hear any traffic. Staff was very pleasant and courteous. My only real issue was the breakfast eggs were very fast-food like.

    « Great Vacation »

Wasn't sure what to expect when booking this hotel. Arrived late a night and front desk was extremely pleasant and helpful. Rooms seemed a little dated but the very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Very good breakfast and attendent was a very lovely woman. Very quiet and easy access to park and Bar Harbor. Would denifitely stay again.

« Friendly but not clean »

We were greeted by a very friendly desk clerk and I wish I could remember her name. She gave us two great restaurant recommendations. However, the room was not clean at all. The breakfast was ok but could have been warmer.

« Best of the Best »

We are Best Western members and have stayed at several other hotels but this was the "best". The staff made us feel like family. From the front desk staff to the two very friendly and polite women working at breakfast.(great breakfast also) One stay here and you will be back.(we will)

    « Obviously they care »

this Best Western is great !!! very well maintained both the property and the buildings. The entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful..The breakfast is fine although the coffee is ok not great..If and when I go back to Bar harbor this is wher i would stay..Only 5 minutes from downtown and 3 minutes from the park.

    « Great Experience »

This location is conveniently close to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We had a King Bed with Refrigerator and Microwave. The bed was comfortable and the room size was excellent - we were able to store our bikes inside with plenty of room to move around. It was surprisingly quiet even though the room faced the road. The only complaint was the lighting, it was dim and hard to see in the main area. The bathroom and sink area was nicely lit. The check in was easy and they always have coffee available. They also had cookies around 3 pm. Breakfast was very good - I would say better than a Holiday Inn Express. Different choices daily and tasty! The staff was very friendly. The weather was nice enough that we enjoyed the outdoor pool which was clean. Also used the laundry facility which was conveniently on site. Parking was in front of the room. Highly recommend staying here!

« A great location close to everything (but the crowds!) »

We really enjoyed staying here last summer. We were travelling with a 13 and 15 yr. old so the pool was nice and the breakfast each morning saved us a bunch of $. Was it gourmet? No, but certainly adequate enough for my not so picky eaters. We enjoyed Acadia, the towns, mini golf and ice cream all within a very short drive. We would stay here again. The only reason it does not get 5 stars is the internet, which is iffy to non existant in the rooms but usable in the main office. We like our internet for posting pics at night, talking to friends back home etc.

    5
    « Most pleasant »

The staff were courteous and friendly. Rooms were clean and well kept. We enjoyed the free breakfast which was more than we expected . It helped us to get a quicker start to our day. Great food choices, well stocked and clean. Also coffee, tea and hot chocolate with cookies in lobby from 3 to 9pm. There were 4 in ou party and we all agreed it was a great place to stay. Planning on going back.

    « Mainely relaxing »

Overall the BW was very good. AS retirees-our focus is on cleanliness, quietness and room comfort which we experienced during out stay. However we thought the off season rate was somewhat high, even with our AAA discount. Breakfast was acceptable, not exceptional, as most breakfast items were generic ,and not name brands.( There is a difference!)

« Very nice place to stay in Bar Harbor »

Vey nice rooms, good breakfast and very friendly service! We had no problems with our very late check in (around 10:30pm) Even tough, it's 10-15 min drive from the center, it is a great place to stay and we had good night sleep

I will definitely stay here again! ??

This was a great place for the price. Clean, not too far from town. friendly staff. walls were thin though. Breakfast staff was nice and professional and clean. highly recommend this BW. we traveled from Indiana and didn't expect much from the other reviews and was impressed.

« Looks can be deceiving »

We booked this Motel for a 30 year anniversary get away. We did get a good price but I was for a moment taken aback when I say this place. It was not what I expected to see from a Best Western.. has the look of one of the roadside Motor Lodges of a bygone era. upon checking in, coffee, Tea and cookies were laid out in the lobby. We reserved a room with a king side bed which was very comfortable. The quilt was wrapped between to sheet making a duvet like cover which I really appreciate and wish more motels would do that. The one negatives the rooms were scented with Febreze, which I did not care for but upon mentioning it they stopped it for the duration of our stay. The front desk also so told me that on future visits just tell them in advance and they will not spray the room Breakfast comes with the room. It was a nice offering coffee, tea . several juices, cereals, muffins and breads, waffles, fruit cocktail, eggs, sausage and another hot dish such as sausage gravy and biscuits. I did not care for the quality of the yogurts or egg dishes but I was still able to select breakfast items to satisfy me. My husband needs Gluten Free and the staff was most helpful. If you ask they may even come up with a GF muffin or two. They try hard to please.

Very Clean, great parking and great location outside of town. Comfortable beds, get cookies at check in and every afternoon at 3pm, chocolate chip, oatmeal and peanut butter. Quiet location, loved this place.

« Close to the Park With Breakfast »

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was very spacious, as was the bathroom. The toiletries were delightful to try the different scents. The hotel is only two miles from one of the Acadia National Park entrances, and four miles from Bar Harbor. You can get pizza delivered here from town, and it was very good from A's. The breakfast was ample in supply, thank goodness, since we could find no find on Mt. Desert Island other than in Bar Harbor during the "off-season." Very helpful and welcoming staff, too!

This is a great property in a fab location and incredibly good value for money. The staff were so kind and friendly, breakfast was so much more than I was expecting and the rooms were of a really good size.

« Great Stay, Ver Friendly Staff »

We stayed one night in early May on the way home from College visits. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We knew we were getting a good deal on the cost of the room so we only expected an average hotel stay. What we got was a good hotel stay, and great service from the front staff. Upon our arrival we were greeted with cookies and hot chocolate which was perfect because the temperature had dropped and it was in the 50's. The hotel staff was great in recommending a restaurant in Bar Harbor to go to as well as directions to Cadillac Mountain. The room we had was over by the pool and was very clean and roomy. The bathroom was large, had a very large shower. Towels were plentiful and the heat worked great. Breakfast was good in the morning and even included some hot items as well as typical continental items. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying again in the future.

Accommodation was clean, very helpful staff, breakfast was excellent, all expected services provided. Close to Park and town, but in wooded area away from noise, great landscaping. Parking next to room, no walking. This was a vacation stay.

    « Every thing I needed! »

This beautifully renovated facility is led by a terrific staff and people who care. Important staff members most definitely include the maintenance, cleaning and breakfast "managers." The rooms are well appointed and quite comfortable. The most obvious features began with the meticulous cleanliness and that set the tone! The fridge, microwave, iron, hair dryer, safe and ample space along with the coffee maker were excellent amenities.. The grounds were very well maintained and pleasant. The location was actually quite good, being a couple miles or so above the Hull's Cove entrance to Acadia and within a few miles of the dining places we visited. We stayed for three nights and we shall return!

    « Great location »

Check in was great and the front desk clerk was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We were there to visit the Acadia park She gave a map and showed us points of interest. Also gave us map of Bar Harbor and marked streets and places to eat for us. I call that going the extra mile. The room was clean and beds and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was a little above average and plentiful. A very nice stay

Excellent clean rooms, comfortable bed and so quiet good for sleeping. Not expensive and the front looks are deceiving there is a whole bunch of rooms around back.Very close to all Nar Harbor has to offer it is only 3 miles from Acadia National Park Hull entrance.

    « misleading »

An out-of-the way motel - not a "real" Best Western. I thought I'd booked a good hotel, in Bar Harbor, but found this "motel" miles outside the city/town/village. There are so many other options in and around Bar Harbor, that I would never, ever stay at this place again. Not that it was bad, just way out of town, and disappointing. The actual room was fine, and the bed extremely comfortable. However the "delicious continental breakfast" wasn't that delicious... Yes there were small cheese omlettes, but not good. Tiny sausage patties, but cheap, cheap cheap, and bad hash brown patties. Plus the coffee had a strange taste. The actual breakfast facility was quite good. There was also an ice machine not working. So, building appearance and location were not worth the money.

« Great location; away from the crowds. »

We went to Mount Desert Island last weekend. We chose Best Western Acadia Park Inn basically because of the brand. We were more than happy with our choice. Although the outside of the property is not glamorous (as are some of the other newer hotels), the rooms, location, grounds, service, staff, breakfast, are all great. We are a family of four and the room (2 queen beds) was more than adequate. Very comfortable beds with nice bedding, nice towels and toiletries. Bathroom itself is a little dated, however it was spotless and spacious enough for it's purpose. (sink-vanity is in a separate area allowing 2 people to use the "bathroom" at the same time). Fridge/Microwave/Mini-safe are all standard. We were allocated room #411 which is to the rear of the (all ground level-motel style) property. There is a brand new swing-set across the lawn from this block of rooms, so if you have kids that would enjoy that, then this room would be great. Breakfast is in a dedicated building near the lobby and central to all rooms. Breakfast served until 10 and there are lots of options. It was very busy, but we enjoyed all the breakfast choices, which vary from day-to-day. Front desk staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Check in and out was easy. Coffee/tea and hot chocolate are available in the lobby. (and cookies too!) Apparently front desk is closed overnight (and a number is provided in case of emergencies). Not an issue for us. What was an issue (for our teenage kids) was the wifi-signal was not strong. It may have been because of the distance from our room to the lobby. If you need WIFI, you might want to enquire about a room closer to the router! The outdoor pool is small (and I imagine it gets very crowded). It opens next weekend (memorial day) for the season. The hotel is about 4 or 5 miles from Bar Harbor itself. Not within walking distance for sure, but it was nice to be away from the crowded streets/parking lots of BH. We would certainly recommend this Acadia Park Inn.

    « Curtious, Clean, Comfortable »

Spent 4 nights at the Best Western Acadia Park Inn and I will most definitely stay there again in the future. The staff were welcoming, the room was clean & the bed quite comfortable! The 1st night I had difficulty with a loud, inconsiderate trio in the next room of which I had to report to the manager. Although the manager (I believe her name was Jane) extended her apologies, the most impressive part was she wasted no time in addressing the issue. The next 3 nights I could hear a pin drop :) The continental breakfast was nice as well- it offered a nice variety of foods which served well as fuel before hitting the trails in Acadia!

    « Great place »

Fantastic experience, hotel staff is courteous and helpful. Hotel itself is clean and fresh. Breakfast was great with many options. Check-in was smooth and suggestions were offered for what to do at Acadia. Check out was extra special since I wanted to add a night but they were booked, Mary helped us find a place near and got them to honor the rate we had at Best Western. A fantastic experience overall.

    « Maine Lighthouse Trip Day 2-6 »

One of the Best Check-ins that I have experienced. All the paperwork was ready and received a thank you letter from the Manager. The room was clean and inviting and everything worked as expected. We had a king size bed that was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious each morning with plenty of room in the kitchen area and dining area. Check out was as easy as the check-in. I had shipped a package to me in advance of the stay and it was waiting for me and one of the clerks even brought it out to the car for me. Only a couple of miles to the downtown Bar Harbor area or about a dozen miles back to the mainland city of Ellsworth. Overall a great place to spend the night or a week.

    « The nicest people »

I often travel with an elderly relative. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. The value is good, the location handy to the entrance to Acadia, good breakfasts served by lovely people, and clean, comfy rooms. The decor is a bit dated but I can forgive that for the rest of the amenities the hotel offers. And, most importantly, everyone I interacted with who was connected to the hotel was really nice, helpful, and went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of.

    5
    « Highly recommend! »

Great place! Clean! Breakfast well organized, close to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor! We were torn between a big hotel in downtown but decided to stay here instead and I'm glad we did, the front desk was very informative about the local places to go Acadia national park is pretty much right around the corner. Beds were comfy and rooms were well taken care of.

« We will be back - The Best in Best Western »

Decided to make an off season stop at Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor ME as a side trip to see our daughter's graduation from UMaine. Let me just say that the staff really puts the Best in Best Western. They are incredible. They take pride in what they do and they are certainly professional. When we arrived I ask the reception attendant, Emilia if she could recommend a few local restaurants, Emilia immediately recommended three based on her personal experience and knowledge of the Bar Harbor area and during our stay we made sure to visit all of them and all three were excellent. The rooms were comfortable, clean and modern. The grounds were well maintained and the complimentary breakfast was better than anything you would be served in restaurant setting. I must say this again, the staff here is truly interested in you and making your stay the best it can be. We will be back

« A good choice near the park... »

First off, the staff at the Best Western Acadia Park Inn is maybe the nicest, most helpful, most gracious staff I've experienced anywhere. From check in to check out, the front desk people and breakfast staff were uniformly helpful and... just nice. In a remarkable way. With that said, this is a pretty standard Best Western. It's a motel, not a hotel. Pull up to your front door. Typical shoebox room layout with the hanging bar, sink and shower at the far end of the room. Beds were fine. Not great. But fine. No pillow top. No deluxe sheets. In fact, my sheets were nearing the end of their life, pilling a bit. But again, the bed was fine. The shower head was good. Water pressure was good. WiFi worked fine. The complementary breakfast each morning had lots of options, including three fruit topping options for the waffles. Nice touch (next time, add a can of whipped cream). Round, McMuffin style scrambled egg thing if you wanted to make your own sausage sandwich. They have worked hard to make the breakfast better than average, and have succeeded. Did I mention the people were really nice? The rooms are dated but clean and well kept. The TV is a flat panel with full cable. Bottom line, the property is not where the bigger chains are in terms of the beds, sheets and pillows. But you're not checking in here to spend time in the room. It's a place to sleep after a day full of fun in the park or in Bar Harbor. And for that, it works just fine. Oh, and the people....

« Good Value Just Outside Bar Harbor »

Even pre-season, hotel costs in this area are high. The Best Western was lower cost, comfortable, included a full breakfast, and was staffed by very friendly people. The bed was especially good, firm but not too firm. Distance to Bar Harbor was only a few miles.

« Motel that has the comfort of a 5 star hotel »

Not one to usually stay at Motels simply because they are usually not as nice as hotels.....this motel is the exception. From the lobby ~ pool area and the rooms this was a great stay. Our room was so large and clean it was awesome! I would suggest anyone looking for a nice clean place in Acadia to choose Best Western first.

« Stay Here for Acadia »

If you're visiting Acadia National Park, this place is perfect, within 3 miles from the entrance. The room was large, clean, the staff welcoming, bed comfortable, and the breakfast was outstanding. The staff was very accommodating and got anything we needed. We were here in the early spring so the pool was not open. I would highly recommend this location.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise! It doesn't look like much from the outside but the rooms are spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was great--plenty of waffles, fruit, muffins, cereal, eggs, biscuits, oatmeal, etc. They even provide cookies at night in the lobby.

    « wonderful hotel »

Very impressed with this hotel! We were running late and the hotel called me to make sure we were still coming and to make sure that I drive safely! General Manager tracked down my son because they thought he left his money in the restaurant. The bed was wonderfully comfortable!

    « Great stay! »

We stayed here for one night but wish we'd have had time to stay longer. Our room was very clean and spacious. We were given homemade cookies at check in and the continental breakfast was more than we expected. There were the usual donuts and pastries but there were also sausages, waffles, toast, fried potatoes, cereal etc. there was plenty of seating as well.

« Quiet and friendly check in »

Located just outside of Bar Harbor on plenty of acreage. The motel has several buildings and the it's a traditional motel with the doors on the outside of the building. The check in was quick and the ladies had plenty of info if you wanted it. The room was clean and the bed was big and high with lots of pillows. Our TV wouldn't work so they came down right away and fixed quickly. Quiet place with a breakfast in the am. Free Wi-fi

    « Great stay »

We made a spontaneous trip to Acadia this past weekend and stayed at the Best Western. It was only 2 miles from the entrance of the park which was super convenient and only about a 5 mile drive to downtown Bar Harbor. Warm welcome and great directions about the area. Rooms were nice and big, bathroom was great, enough hot water and great water pressure. Breakfast was included which was excellent. Great value for a great weekend!

    « Super convenient...Super friendly! »

The weather looked really great for this past weekend, and I thought I'd head up to Bar Harbor/Acadia before the tourists descend upon the beauty and wonder of my home state :) Since I intended to trailer my motorcycle up, I was looking for lodging with adequate parking, yet still close enough to the Village and Acadia. This place was great for what I needed. The staff was super friendly and accommodating - they had just recently opened for the season so I wasn't quite sure what to expect of the room - would it be musty, dusty, damp? None of the above - I had a very comfortable room that was nicely appointed and included a microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator and an in-room safe. The bathroom had a fan (a big plus with me, as I have encountered so many newer or renovated rooms with no bathroom fan!) and was spit-spot clean. They offered free wi-fi and it worked like a charm. This place does not have an ocean view, but it does have a pool, laundry facilities, vending machines and a brand new building where they serve the included continental breakfast. There are picnic tables and grills in the back and it is very well-lit at night. I didn't care that it didn't have the view, as I knew I would be out and riding around in Acadia all day - and there is where you will get the views of a lifetime...it never disappoints...what a wonder!

« Great stay in Bar Harbor »

We stayed at the Best Western in Bar Harbor for one night. The resort is very clean; the unit was well furnished; the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Hot breakfast (eggs, sausage, etc.) was furnished as well. Would recommend this without reservation.

    « Acadia Inn »

Great quality for the price. Beds are very comfortable, the staff is personable and the location is good. Cookies and coffee at check-in are a nice touch, too. The only complaint I have is that the Internet is very slow.

    3
« Huge room with inconvenient access »

This is a very particular review, as it's related to an annex where the rooms (and the access) are different from the main building. All rooms in the main building are the classic motel type, where you park in front of your door. This separate area has around 10 rooms you can't park in front and one of its sides faces the pool (mine, of course) ? Here it's even worst as there's a pool deck and you have to climb two steps with your luggage. As soon as I checked in I complained about all that but I was told those were the best rooms (king size) and the clerk also pointed me to a ramp that made easier to bring the luggage in. All that said I have to admit the room was in fact big with a full size sofa, plus a single seat couch, a big TV, fridge, microwave, a computer table and, of course, the king size bed. The bathroom is also huge. There's a real warning here though: I was there at the last week of October and it was cold, so nobody used the pool that was right in front of my door (and window). It's probably not too wise to stay in this section in July. In the end I was ready to admit I was cranky at the check-in as pushing the luggage through the ramp wasn't so bad and the room was nice. Too bad Karma kicked in and two days after leaving I found out they charged my CC for the entire stay, even though it was confirmed by the clerk it was all paid for through Expedia and that she wanted my CC just for incidentals (normal procedure). I would love to believe this was a coincidence but I think someone decided to ?give me a lesson' ? theory reinforced by the fact my complaint about the room was noted on my file and read back to me by the person I've contacted to handle my reimbursement.

« Very convenient for Acadia National Park »

We have stayed at this hotel twice now (in the autumn both times), and thoroughly enjoyed both visits. Its setting among the pines was what attracted our attention initially, so we gave it a try (in previous years we stayed in Bangor or Ellsworth). The included breakfast is unusually good for an American hotel, with many items to choose from. The dining area is pleasant, even when busy. At least one of the breakfast staff members is very helpful for visitors of the nearby national park (Acadia). The hotel office has interesting books/magazines, and extra coffee/tea/hot chocolate. The location of the hotel makes it great for being able to get to Acadia N. P. or Bar Harbor quickly, but without the hassle of Bar Harbor traffic at the hotel. Then only downsides, and they're not much, are that the rooms are somewhat dated, and the laundry "room" is outdoors.

    3
« Check where this hotel is before you book »

This hotel is way out of Bar Harbor and has no ocean views. If you want to drive 5 miles to get into town and be located amongst trees, it is probably fine. We checked out the rooms and found them a time warp. We decided not to stay and found many hotels with vacancies and ocean views for the same price much closer to town.

    4
« Quiet location and room, better than average breakfast choices. »

Quiet location a few miles out of town away from the crowds in Bar Harbor. Met my request for a quiet room, at the back of the complex, with a great selection of maps on the bed when I checked in so I didn't have to search them out elsewhere. Breakfast was good with lots of choices and changing hot items each day, including corned beef and hash with poached eggs one morning. Friendly, helpful staff, at the front desk and in the breakfast room. Carole gave me some good suggestions for walks on the "quiet side" of the island that were very helpful for my last day of exploring. I liked the big sink in my room, with shelf underneath for toiletries. (I stayed here three nights in mid-September. Missed my chance to do the Best Western review so doing it on Trip Advisor instead.)

    3
« Clean, but rooms need updating. »

The inn is not in a bad location and not too far from downtown Bar Harbor, but I was disappointed in our room. It was clean, but not well furnished for a Best Western. Our room was back (not facing the highway) and to the side of the complex and very quiet. The breakfast was adequate. The staff could not have been friendlier and helpful and took time to give us information on the area and even the times cruise ships were expected as that can make a huge difference to the crowds on the island.

    « Wonderful Experience! »

We were very satisfied and comfortable at this facility. Helpful and friendly staff: welcoming reception and their breakfast hostess, Carole T. was wonderful. Started each day with a hearty breakfast in a separate single building, nicely set up and decorated. Breakfast was beautifully displayed and varied each day. We had scrambled, boiled, cheese omelet eggs, maple syrup sausages, breakfast patties, biscuits and gravy, home fries, cold and hot cereal, fresh fruits, fruit salad, assorted pastries, bagels, and breads, yogurt, waffle, hash browns, oatmeal, coffee, assorted juices and teas. Homemade, delicious cookies after 3:00 p.m. in the lobby area. This hotel is a quiet, rustic and expansive property: single story facility, so no elevator is needed. Grounds are kept clean. Excellent location to use as a hub to visit Bar Harbor town and Acadia National Forest. *Nice touch: a night light in the bathroom is provided for our convenience and safety.

    « Perfect Location »

My husband and I just got back from a road trip to New England. Our main destination was to visit Acadia National Park. I chose the Best Western Acadia based on TripAdvisor reviews. I am so glad we did!!! It was so close to the park just a few miles. It was clean, staff was very courteous and friendly and the breakfast buffet was great. Carole who worked in the breakfast area was fantastic. Not only was she such a friendly person but she gave great advice on places to visit in the park. We would definasterly recommend stsayi g at this location. Close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor town. We were lucky to get here just days before everything closed for the season. If you go into Bar Harbor check out the Sides Street Cafe. Great lobster rolls and soups!

    « Close to everything »

When I first booked this hotel I was disappointed because the hotels I wanted to stay at in Bar Harbor were full. That turned out to be fortunate for me. From my arrival in the late afternoon I was very impressed with the property. The two ladies working the front desk were very friendly and knowledgeable and made sure to inform me that hot cookies would be out in a few minutes. I then checked into my room in the back which was quite large and had a very comfortable bed and a large bathroom. After dropping off my items and picking up a couple of cookies I headed off for Acadia National Park. This is where I really liked where the hotel was located. You didn't have to go all the way into Bar Harbor to take the roads into the park. It is only about 5-10 minutes to reach the park entrance or downtown Bar Harbor from the hotel. This way you can avoid a lot of the traffic if you just want to go into the park. I was also very impressed with the breakfast they served. A lot of different foods were available. One of the best I have ever seen put on by a hotel. I think if you stay here you will be really pleased.

« Great Place to Stay and Close to Acadia »

We stayed at the Acadia Park Inn several years ago and it was such a good experience we choose it again! And --- were not disappointed! We like the privacy and the ability to park right outside the door of our room. The too was clean and sparkling! The bed was very comfortable. Coffee and cookies in the lobby were an afternoon treat! The breakfast was full of variety and seemed a step above other hotel free breakfasts! I am always happy if I can make a waffle! Good protein choices including hard boiled eggs. The maple sausage the second day was delicious! We really enjoyed the breakfast room which was new since out last stay. The best part about breakfast was the wonderful woman who not only kept things going on the food side, but was a wonderful hostess for her guests! We felt that we were guests in her home! Just Great! We will return! Although we didn't use them, we did notice washers and dryers were available for guest use. A bonus for many travelers!

« A Terrific Value in Acadia National Park Area »

The Best Western Acadia Park Inn might look a little old-fashioned from the outside. It is all one story and nestled off the road like a motel of the past. But inside, this is a terrific place to stay. The lighting in the room was bright without being harsh. I could finally see into my suitcase! The room was fresh and clean with a comfortable, not stuffy, feel to the place. The breakfast room is amazing! You will love to eat there each morning. We did. Clean, efficient, and like a small restaurant in design. The food service is in a separate area of the building. Everyone was knowledgeable, efficient, and very friendly. Stay here when you visit Acadia National Park.

    « Acadia base »

Conveniently located off of Highway 3 on the edge of Bar Harbor and a few miles from Acadia Nat'l Park. Staff was very friendly and nice. Breakfast was free and had the typical continental fare but also had hot food (eggs, sausages, potatoes and waffles). Downtown Bar Harbor was close enough if you wanted to get out for breakfast as well as for any other meal. Rooms were relatively clean and in working order. Staff was very friendly.

« Cleanliness & Friendliness make this the place to stay! »

It's obvious that this is a well managed hotel. Every aspect of our stay was excellent. A pleasant experience from check in to check out. Room and bathroom were immaculate. Coffee and Popcorn were available in the lobby in the evening. The complimentary breakfast was above average, but Carole, who runs the kitchen, goes above and beyond to ensure everything is perfect and every guest has exactly what they need. Carole also informed us of the cruise ships' schedules so we could plan our time in Bar Harbor to avoid the mad rush of the cruise passengers. Don't forget to "pin" your hometown on their maps in the dining room. All the staff is friendly and helpful. This was the finest Best Western we've ever visited.

« Great place to stay as a home base for exploring Acadia »

Good experience, from the Front Desk staff, Breakfast Room staff Caroline's helpful hints, cookies to snack on at the end of the day and so on. Room was quiet and has all amenities you need. Mini-fridge (froze everything), microwave, wifi signal was strong. Bed a little soft for my preference. All Good! Would stay again.

    « Great Location »

Stayed here from Sept 23 to 25. Location was great for Acadia and even to get into Bar Harbor. Breakfast was typical Best Western food with a selection of cereals, oatmeal, teas, coffee, some potatoes, etc. It was nice they switched the foods up. However no gluten free options. It was a little disappointing that they are still using paper plates as well. Rooms were decent size and clean. Could hear the person in the room next to us snoring...

    « Stick a pin in it... »

We enjoyed our three night stay here. Check in was uneventful, the room was standard, but had everything we needed. The fridge made it easy to store extra drinks and food. Breakfast was great with rotating hot items so we had something new each day. Be sure and meet "Carole". She made everyone feel welcome each morning and was able to offer great advice on seeing the sights. You could tell she loved the area and meeting people from all over the world! She will encourage you to stick a pin in the wall map denoting your home. Would go back just to see her!

« Excellent Place to Stay - Bed was Comfy! »

The room we stayed in was a King with a full kitchen. Felt like home. The bed was so comfortable. The staff at the breakfast room was very hospitable and helpful with directions and information about the area.

« Great Location for Acadia Park »

Check in was pleasant and prompt. Room was exactly what we needed for the 3 of us. Beds were comfortable and had nice duvets instead of the old hairy horse blankets of the past. Microwave, small fridge and safe were good. The only concern was the TV, which was a nice flat screen but the programming was not in HD so the picture was distorted and fuzzy. Resetting it to "set by program" put the picture back to its original form, but was much smaller than the TV and even less clear. But then, we didn't come there for the TV. The breakfast was very good with very attentive and pleasant staff that kept the food coming. The eating area appeared to be built specifically for that purpose and was very well setup and maintained. I would stay there again

This hotel was an excellent choice. We stayed in the King Suite, it is wonderful and worth the upgrade, big king size pillow top mattress, very comfortable, clean. Bathroom was large with high vaulted ceiling. Breakfast was much better than most. a lot of choices. staff very friendly, would definitely stay here again.

« Decent American motel standard »

This is well located just outside Bar Harbor township and offers very satisfactory motel accommodation, with friendly service. Don't raise your expectations too high however: the bathrooms are tiny and plasticky and the buffet breakfast not very good (in our opinion - maybe we're too fussy!).

    « fall visit »

A nice stay at this motel. Clean enough room, would have preferred the bathroom and sink area to be the same. It is hard to wash up without disturbing your partner. Also like every other hotel or motel we stayed at on this trip there is is no make-up mirror in the room. The cleaning staff forgot to replace toiletries on occasion. Nice Lobby with cookies, hot drinks and a fireplace in the afternoon.

« Great place just outside Acadia »

Had a great stay at the Best Western Acadia. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful with recommendations for activities. Nice, large room with very comfortable bed. Very nice, large complimentary breakfast and fantastic coffee in the lobby. Excellent value for the price and great location to visit Bar Harbor downtown and Acadia National Park.

« great Best Western outside of Bar Harbor »

Nice quiet location from the craziness of Bar Harbor. Easy location to Acadia National Park. Staff is friendly and this Best Western loves to eat. Great morning breakfast with warm cookies in the afternoon.

    « Down Home Hospitality »

Very knowledgeable, service-minded staff, especially Amanda at the front desk. Rooms were very clean, easily accessible, comfortable, and quiet, even though our room faced the highway.Well-maintained/landscaped property under good management. Well-stocked and clean complimentary breakfast bar was fitting way to start the day before our hike in Acadia National Park, which was just a few miles down the road. The evening we checked in and asked about places to eat, Amanda recommended that we consider the Chart Room. We did, and were not disappointed.

« Great Hospitality, Quiet Location, Comfy Bed, Good Breakfast - Stay Here! »

We stayed at this hotel for a week in October. Decor was a little dated, but it didn't bother us as the room was very clean and bed was super comfortable. Parking was directly out the door of your room. Breakfast offerings were varied from day to day with certainly enough choices. The hotel is located outside of the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor so it made for a nice place to retreat to after a day of touring and hiking. It was certainly was a great choice for the area and the value. Kudos to ALL the staff as everyone is friendly and helpful.

« Nice place to stay »

Best Western Acadia Park Inn is a very nice Inn to stay if you are in the area. It is a typical Best Western hotel, but has nice grounds and has a hot and cold continental breakfast. It is very close to the entrance to Acadia National Park, which is nice. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. They have a laundry area to do laundry if needed. We enjoyed our stay there, it was quiet and the room was nice.

    « Wonderful gem! »

I have never taken the time to write a review, but we had such great service at this hotel I wanted to take time to give them kudos. We visited the first of Aug 2015 and it was just as nice as all the great reviews I has read previously. First of all, it is out of the downtown hustle and bustle and traffic of Bar Harbor, but just by approx 5 miles. The hotel offers the best breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. The menu changes daily, but we had eggs, sausage, waffles, corned beef hash, breakfast potatoes, fruit, yogurt, toast, etc. The staff is completely wonderful. Teenia was so helpful with making the reservations and helping us in person when we arrived. You can tell she loves people and her job. The hotel room was clean and quaint. You can tell it is an older hotel, but we experienced no problems during our stay. Each afternoon cookies and popcorn were made which was a treat after a long day hiking in Acadia National Park. We would definitely stay here again. The price was reasonable and the service was great.

« A nice place close to the the Park »

At about 2.5 miles from the Visitor center, this is close to the Park. Also it is on State Highway 3 so you don't need to get into the crowded area of the town. That for me is a bug plus. The room was clean and had all the regular trappings. I liked having a microwave in the room as it gave me the independence from having to go to a restaurant every single time. I've also liked the breakfast they provide in the morning. They have a pretty good spread and it certainly is filling. I was able to park right in front of my room and this was an added bonus. It helped me well when it rained. Also all the staff was very pleasant and helpful That said, this place does have a dated feel and I did not enjoy the decor of the room. Also it had an old air conditioner which was felt a little dusty. I must say having a better room would have improved the rating of this place further.

« Large motel style inn, with dark rooms »

As a previous reviewer said, this is basically a large motel, slightly dated. In the block we stayed in, all the rooms are long and thin, with only a single small window. But that doesn't matter as you would want to keep your curtains drawn, being at ground level with the walkway immediately outside the window. It was clean and pleasant inside, nothing objectionable. Walls are thin, and there was a lot of noise from the one next door, even though they weren't being particularly raucous. Breakfasts were terrible! Day one's egg was scrambled - a solid homogenous lump! Day two's egg was a strange perfect flat semicircle, completely hard, with a yellow blob in the middle. Add in the paper plates and plastic cutlery and ... well ... yuk.

I love Best Westerns-nothing fancy but neat and clean with complimentary breakfasts. The staff members were helpful with advice on activities, restaurants and computer use. The location was easy to find too.

    « Average Best Western »

The outside of the hotel does look dated, but the grounds are kept up very nicely. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very average, exactly what you may expect from an older Best Western. The property is "motel" style, (the door opens to the parking lot) which I usually do not like as single female traveler, but I did feel safe at the hotel. The location is farther out than I had hoped and although it is only a short drive into the little town of Bar Harbor, parking is very, very difficult, so it was a bummer to have to drive in each day. The location of this hotel was also very close in proximity to Acadia National Park.

« Great place to stay! »

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean rooms with all a traveler needs. Great breakfast bar included. Family friendly atmosphere. Close to the heart of Bar Harbor but not in the hustle and bustle. The room included sight seeing maps and brochures which helped us to selected some different activities we had not heard of.

« Don't let the exterior fool you »

Best Western is not exactly in town and the outside might look a little dated, but it is an excellent place to stay when visiting Bar Harbor. It is a quality hotel/motel with great internet, breakfast, and accommodations. I love a bath that has the sink area separate from the tub/shower area and also a bathroom exhaust so that the shower steam doesn't haunt me when trying to put on make-up/do hair/etc. Breakfast was outstanding!!! I would most definitely stay here again when visiting Bar Harbor.

    « Fantastic Breakfast Bar »

We stayed here for three nights during a trip to Acadia National Park. The motel is conveniently located right off Highway 3 near Bar Harbor. It was clean, nicely landscaped and in a quiet location. It is a large facility with several one story buildings. Guest parking is located in front of the rooms. The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast bar seemed more like a buffet restaurant with food in one room and a large seating seating area in another. The lady in charge of the breakfast did a fantastic job. The menu changed slightly each day and included biscuits & gravy, hash browns, omelettes, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. Salsa and catsup were offered on the side. The breakfast bar also included cereals, muffins, bagels, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc. Truly, something for everyone. There is a large outdoor swimming pool and free wi-fi. We would definitely stay there again.

« Outstanding in every aspect! »

Outstanding in every aspect! Very large room. Great people with lots of personal knowledge of Acadia Park, local food spots, etc. Different breakfast menu each morning. Something you don't often see. Older buildings with outside entries, but in perfect shape. These people are spending the time/money on the ongoing maintenance needed to keep a place up to date.

« Thin walls but nice staff »

We did wonder about staying so far from the town but the location of this hotel actually was very convenient for the park and for getting to the quieter side of the island. Its a series of one storey blocks just off the main (and at night quiet) road but the accommodation does show signs of its age. We had people next door who were by no means noisy but we could still hear everything through the walls. And as we are quiet sleepers that was irritating. The desk staff did kindly look at options for us but none really suited us so we decided to stick it out. Sleep wasnt helped by the biker on the other side going for a sunrise trip up Cadillac mountain but I guess thats always a possibility here! Breakfast staff were friendly and cheerful and breakfast itself was decent. Desk staff were extremely helpful and even managed to get a message through to the dentist I had had to visit just before arrival.

« Excellent choice for Acadia visit »

First and foremost, the staff at this motel are national treasures, friendly, helpful, nothing too much trouble, they are to be commended and should be awarded for their efforts. Our room was spotless, a good size, bed amazingly comfortable, soooo many pillows ! The room was warm, able to open windows for some fresh air was a boon as so many places have 'locked' Windows. The entrance and grounds are so well kept, sitting at the pool relaxing in the late afternoon fall sunshine was such a pleasure. We would certainly visit again. Oh yes, the included breakfast is exceptional as are the staff attending it. The location is great for visiting Acadia NP, Bar Harbor and surrounds.

    « location and comfortable »

We were close to the entrance of Acadia National park which was great so that we could get up early and rise with the sun on Cadillac Mountain. It is a 15 minute drive to Bar Harbor where you can enjoy the best Lobster dinners and walk along the Harbor. Beautiful area to visit.

« Quick trip to Bar Harbor, we will be back. Very clean motel, adequate breakfast, good value for the price. »

McKays Public House was great for diner. Bar Harbor is charming and busy. We absolutely loved it and the Best Western really treated us well. We did not have time to spend another day here, but we will return and this Motel met our needs quite well.

« Great choice near Acadia! »

Stayed here for 3 nights on our trip to Acadia. We had a comfortable king-sized bed in a clean well-equipped room with microwave, frig and coffeemaker. It had free wifi which worked well. Our room was in the back of the building and we were able to park in front of it, making it easy to unload the car. There was a large grassy area in the back with adirondack chairs for lounging. The room was very quiet - no traffic noise. The free breakfast was wonderful with a waffle-maker, yogurt, cereals, pastries, eggs, sausage, juice, coffee, etc. It was manned every morning by two wonderful ladies who kept it well supplied and made us feel like we were eating in their kitchen. They were a treasure - I hope the manager knows what an asset they are to his business. The rest of the staff was equally friendly though we had not as much contact with them as our stay was trouble-free. If you are staying in the Acadia area, you should seriously consider staying here - you won't regret it.

    « Hotel Chain w/ a Local Feel..... »

Very helpful, warm employees. A welcome letter came with our room keys, come on, how many hotel chains do that! The clean, spacious room had a very comfortable bed. And the included breakfast, variations on the offerings every day and a map in the spacious breakfast room to pin your hometown! Nice.

« Great place to stay! »

We recently enjoyed a 2 night stay at this complex and were very satisfied with the rooms, the staff and the continental breakfast. The rooms were comfy and very clean- (the staff person who cleaned our room even left us a pleasant note!) They were well equipped with all the amenities- refrig, microwave, coffee maker, wi- fi, etc. The staff was extremely helpful with info on Acadia ( how best to see it, a few options) and Bar Harbor downtown (where to eat, where to park, when to go- not when a cruise ship is in harbor and they keep a schedule!). We enjoyed the continental breakfast and the large room it was located in. Laundry on site that was outside under a roof type cover and seemed to be quite busy except in the early morning. The location was a few miles outside downtown Bar Harbor and very near the Visitors entrance to Acadia Nat'l Park. Would recommend this place to other travelers.

« Basic motel rooms, very good breakfast, good friendly staff. »

This motel was a little further from downtown Bar Harbor than we expected. The rooms are basic, but we slept well and other patrons were respectful and quiet. The breakfast room is very nice. They serve some form of hot eggs and meat each day. You can make your own waffle and they are quite good compared to some hotels. The coffee is very good and Carol will give you great advice on where to go and what to do in Acadia. The price was high for a motel with outdoor entrances but it is Bar Harbor. Basically the rooms are average and the breakfast and staff are very good.

« More of a motel than Inn »

Not far from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor Maine, this property consists of one level, motel type rooms. The property is older but well maintained and clean. Both the room and bathroom were decent sized although the tub/shower seemed to be rather narrow. This would be a good value at half the price, but understanding the close location to the Park and town with its very high priced properties, perhaps this is not so expensive. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast typical.

the desk staff were very welcoming. The breakfast was the best by far of all the best westerns we stayed at on our trip with outstanding cooks. There was a separate dining room. Our room was great and clean.
