Excellent hotel, rooms are good in size. Very well maintained. Good location and very good breakfast spread. Market , pubs within walking distance. Good overall experience. Indian restaurants are within walking distance.

Stayed here for 1 night. Hotel is located very nicely, closeby city center part of Bamberg. Also convenient is the public parking garage under the hotel building. Check-in went swift. Staff all in all friendly and helpfull. My room on the fifth floor was of a very nice size. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was also of a good size and clean. Breakfast was good with more than enough to choose.

This place is a little hard to find....since it is tucked back from the main street, but that also makes it a quiet place to stay. Breakfast was standard and adequate. we liked there was a laundry on premise and soap was available at the front desk for a small fee. Our room was large with an updated bathroom, but the bed area was a bit dated. The staff here was helpful and efficient. The area surrounding the hotel is a bit run down if you are coming from the train station, but improves the closer you get to the bridge which is not far away.

I checked in here exhausted, after having to flee the disgusting Ibis hotel. I've stayed in many very high end hotels around the world. The staff at the Best Western is every bit as good or perhaps better than any place I've stayed. When you stay at a very high end property, you often get great service, but there can be a little bit of an attitude. Not at the Best Western in Bamberg. These folks work hard and clearly have the guest in mind. Whatever the request, they handle it with professionalism and kindness. On top of that, the property is extremely clean. I could not find a flaw anywhere I looked. The hotel provides every thing you could want for. Raining and need an umbrella? They have them. Need to do some laundry. There are free machines for you to use and detergent pods at the front desk for a mere 0.70. Ice yes. Drinks yes. Delicious breakfast, yes. Books to read, yes. Toiletries, yes. What is it you need, they have it for you. The beds are comfortable. The room air conditioning is simple and works wonderfully. The room windows open. The elevator is quick. The location is close to the train station and to the old town. There is a full grocery store just a couple steps from the hotel entrance. If I was planning a trip to Bamberg, I would not go unless I could book at room at this Best Western. Trust me, you will be glad you stayed here instead of anywhere else.

Chose the hotel because of confidence in the brand and previous positive experience with other properties of the hotel group. Again, I experienced the same good quality stay. The hotel is located sort of mid-way between the rail station and the old town, which is ideal to someone travelling on train like me. The front desk was most helpful and friendly, and it was a nice surprise to learnt that they had my room already ready when I tried to check in at 1pm. Imagine how nice it was that after travelling from Cologne for 4 hours on the train, I could go to my room to relax a bit and freshen up before starting the sightseeing. This really made a difference. Everything is up to expectation with no disappointment. Good value breakfast too.

A friend recommended we visit Bamberg for the 12 Breweries in town, so we found this hotel by accident. We drove in to Bamberg expecting to only stay for lunch but the town was so beautiful we decided to stay the night. We had quite by accident parked in the underground car park next to the hotel, so when we went back to collect the car we inquired if they had any rooms for the night and luckily they did. Bedroom was spacious, clean and comfortable with air-conditioning which was helpful in the 37 degree heat. Car Parking was 13.50 Euro for 24 hours Location wise it was a 10 minute walk in to Bamberg and 2 of the 12 Breweries were in the next street to the hotel which was convenient. We did not have breakfast but instead was to a Backerei (bakery) just 2 minutes form the hotel and had coffee and croissants for breakfast. The Backerei had indoor and outdoor seating and overlooked the river. Great hotel in a good location with superb service.

Nice easy check in. They speak very good English so it was breeze. Nice laundry room, free to guests, on the third floor, came in handy. Good breakfast buffet. They have a bar set up at the front desk but no food so bring your own snacks to set out at the tables in front and enjoy a drink! Bamberg is a lovely city, not to be missed and this is the place to stay.

Best Western is a good choice for a concenient basic business hotel in central Bamberg. It's conveniently located in walking distance to the central train station (10 min walking) and to downtown. It's comparably quiet (try to get a room not facing the main street). As all Best Western, also this property is more on the "no frills" side, but it offers all for a convenient business hotel. Staff is helpful and friendly. Rooms are surprisingly modern, clean (partly small). Comfortable beds and walk in showers. Breakfast is also in times of "Corona" well organized, efficient and tasty. Clear "go"

Stayed three nights on a road trip to Germany. We chose the hotel due to positive reviews on Tripadvisor. The hotel is located within walking distance of the old town, alternatively the Central Bus Station is a short walk from the entrance. Good underground parking is available next to the hotel at EUR 12 per day with a direct connection to the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff at the front desk offered a city map and informed us of current Covid-19 measures. Changes mainly regarded the buffet breakfast, which was slightly modified, whereas housekeeping was as usual. We also noted that the hotel offered a cup of coffee and a snack in the afternoon, a very nice touch. Our room was spacious, very clean and quiet. It was equipped with a/c, safe, coffee making equipment and good wi-fi. Everything was in perfect working condition. The breakfast buffet was very good with products of high quality. We enjoyed our stay in Bamberg and would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is not too far from the city centre and it has a good underground public parking. Being a three star hotel, everything is in line. Rooms are basic, as is the general decor. The breakfast is also very basic, with industrial quality food. When we booked, despite I had asked about coronavirus regulations, they did not tell us that we will need to specify the night before a time to go for breakfast the following morning. Despite this, we had to wait to be seated the following day. The price was in line with what was on offer. However what was unacceptable was the rudeness of the reception staff. I had booked a room with a double bed and a single bed and they confirmed this on the form. Upon arrival we were assigned a room with three single beds without a word of explanation. When we walked into the room, we realized there were three single beds. I called the reception asking for explanations and whether we could get what we had booked. The staff told me that they had just realized we were three and that they did not have a room with a double bed and a single bed. When I asked them why they had confirmed the booking with a double room, the woman started getting altered repeating that we were three, like if it was our fault being three. I got annoyed since the booking I had made was clearly for three people and she answered back saying that in any case we could put two beds together. I replied that by doing so the side tables would be distant from the respective beds, as they were fixed to the wall. She then replied 'well you are three and you got what you wanted, i.e. three beds!' Rarely did I see a similar rudeness from hotel staff. I can understand it is a low level hotel, but this was totally unacceptable nonetheless. Stay away, if you can, or be ready for this kind of treatment. 

Just back from a visit to Bamberg and stayed at the Best Western Hotel. What a great hotel. Just a few minutes walk from the train station and the city centre. Staff very welcoming. Lovely room and great breakfast. What more can you ask for. Can't wait to go back.

Location was perfect to visit all of central Bamberg. WiFi was excellent and the breakfast was as good as one can find. Nice sized rooms and friendly staff. All good at a reasonable price. Some might shy away as it is a chain, but that would be a mistake.

The Best Western was the best value of any hotel we stayed at during our German road trip. The rooms were quiet, large, clean and spacious, the check in staff were friendly and the hotel has a great location - about ten minutes walk from the old city and the cathedral. There is on site parking (12 euros per night), breakfast was tasty and the staff were very friendly - the receptionist on duty on 1st January was so kind and helpful. I would stay there again if I got the chance. Everything worked perfectly and the price was superb. Whilst the hotel doesn't have a restaurant except for breakfast, there is a very good Japanese place across the road. There is even a guest laundry on the third floor. Not fitness facilities, but Bamberg is the perfect city for jogging - seven churches on seven hills, all cobbled streets and historic ambience.

Modern rooms with large bathroom and ample closet, drawer and desk space. Lots of wood hangars. Comfortable bed. Sofa. Two luggage racks pre-positioned in the room - didn't have to ask! The bathroom has a good size vanity, separate walk-in shower and tub. The WC is not separate from the rest of the bathroom. Accommodating staff. Checked-in early morning and left luggage. Compact, full-service bar. Nice breakfast room and good breakfast. Newspapers! Very centrally located. It is just outside the main walking area. Easy walk to train station and tourist sites. Next door to an organic grocery store, across the street from Dominos pizza. The perpendicular street behind the hotel leads the to the main walking area and has a brew-house, bakery and fine dining restaurant located on it all within one block of the hotel.

This hotel was very nice. I picked it based on location close to old town and the train station. There are even 2 very good restaurants right down the street so you dont have to walk far. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and it had a good selection of choices.

I have nothing negative to say about this hotel or about my stay. I rarely (if ever) stay at American hotels when in Europe, but Bamberg hotels didn't exactly excite me. So I chose this Best Western based on TA reviews and it's location. Everything was great. I had the suite on the top floor (3rd floor) and loved all of the space. The bed was comfortable, there were comfy chairs in the living room. I got a great nights sleep each night. Breakfast was wonderful, and every single staff person was kind and helpful. True, I didn't get any kind of interesting view from my room, but that was easy to live with. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

As the title says, we stayed here after reading reviews on TA and were not disappointed. The room was well appointed, comfortable and clean, fast free Wifi, the staff without exception were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was the best we had across Europe on a three week road trip, fresh, lots of choice, decent coffee and always attentive staff to clear away the dirty plates and replenish the food items. Would be more than happy to recommend and to stay there again if in Bamberg

This was my third visit and again this hotel excelled. Everything was perfect. Staff were friendly, spoke English and were very helpful. Rooms quite large and very comfortable beds. Breakfast substantial with lots of choice, including complimentary champagne for breakfast on the Sunday we were there. Coffee/hot drinks in reception. Everything a good hotel should be.

This is a modern hotel that met our expectations in very way. It is 'Garni' hence no restaurant, but the breakfast was very extensive and the buffet well maintained throughout the opening period. Both hot and cold choices being well catered for. Staff were friendly and the hotel was properly cleaned throughout. Our room was spacious, quiet and well appointed with comfortable beds. There is parking under the hotel (Eu 12 / night) but the convenience made it worthwhile. There is a good choice of restaurants both nearby and in the old town some 15 minutes walk away. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a stay in Bamberg

Rooms are clean. Breakfast is ok, with a good coffee. Staff is really nice. Location is almost in the middle. Easy to go arround the city from the hotel. Have a washing machine for customers, no charge! Recommended and i will be back :)

Excellent location - just ten minutes away from the train station and ten minutes from the Old Town. Well equipped, clean room. Nice bathroom - small, but convenient and comfortable. Good breakfast with a choice of cold and hot meal. Tea and coffee in the lobby. Very nice staff. Steady Wi-Fi connection.

Great location, very clean and very friendly staff! It is very close to the train station and the Old Town area. Easy to walk anywhere but there is also a bus stop within a few hundred feet. The breakfast was amazing!

We stayed here for 2 nights. Service levels were very good, except for the excessive noise generated by the maids (doors slamming from 7 AM). Location and breakfast were likewise very good. Not so good were maintenance issues with the phone (did not work) and the air con (heated instead of cooling). The beds were rather hard but tolerable. Overall, probably a reasonable choice for a brief visit.

Tucked away in an alley off the main road, this hotel can be hard to find. However, it's contemporary feel with nicely appointed rooms is worth it. The smallish lobby has a nice bar and the buffet breakfast is sumptuous. Personnel are friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was I could not connect to the Wi-Fi – the hotel is aware that their service provider does not link with Microsoft Edge or Outlook and didn't know how to fix it. That could affect a lot of travelers.

Good comfortable, clean, up to date hotel. After three nights in Oberammergau we arrived in Bamberg, my old Army post, on our way to Berlin. The hotel's staff is professional and friendly. The A/C is cold! Very welcome after three nights in a un A/C hotel. Great location easy walk to anywhere downtown. Parking can be tricky, after you cross the bridge or right before you cross the bridge look toward the hotel and there will be a small sign street level for Best western and parking. There is laundry facilities there as well. Breakfast is very good. Overall, we enjoyed our quick stay and would plan on staying there again.

The hotel offers great value for money. It is clean, well-appointed and centrally located in the scenic town of Bamberg. I was impressed with the breakfast available and it was great that you can also eat al fresco in summer. Staff was friendly even when I arrived late at night/early in the morning. However they seemed a bit amused when I picked up my suitcase in the evening and asked for a toilet to change. First time that reception staff was surprised by this but they pointed me towards a large toilet where I could change. Overall, a great hotel to stay.

Highly recommended this hotel. Classy and homey feel when in this hotel. Superb professional staff always there to assist in any way. Breakfast is amazing. It's in downtown and walking distance to alot of restaurants and local hangouts. It's one block from an awesome trail under the bridge that goes for a few miles.

Did during years stay at this hotel on my business trips to the Bamberg and always ok. So did want to stay here on a holyday trip to Bamberg. We booked a room for 3 nigth and as it is the best hotel in town you must book well in time. It is located 5-10 minuts walk from the Alstadt and away from the noice. The friendly staff gave us a warm and informativ welcome. The room was very good and the same is to be said about the bathroom. Breakfast was fantastic all we good ask for and during summer you can have breakfast outside. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but a small bar with drinks, coffee, cakes and sandwichs. We did enjoy our stay here and will next time in Bamberg stay here again. Thank you to the fantastic staff, they do a great job.

This hotel is in a great location near the train station and an easy walk to many Bamberg sites. There is convenient, underground parking at the hotel. The rooms were spacious and quiet and the hotel staff were very kind and helpful. The breakfast buffet was large with a large variety of foods to suit everyone's palate. Would highly recommend this hotel as a great base for exploring the beautiful town of Bamberg!

To Americans, Best Westerns aren't exactly awesome hotels, but the ones in Europe are definitely different and for the best. I'll tell you why-- We checked into the hotel before our room was ready, but that wasn't a big deal because the front desk was able to hold our luggage while we used the bathroom to freshen up and continue on our way. After a long day out and about, we finally received our key and found our room. Bed was a bit hard--but the extra pillows that we asked for were in the room, which was great! Linens were soft and the bathroom was new and clean. Lots of channels in English--although they are all news channels, that was okay. Air conditioning worked well and it got very cool in the room. The room was big with two chairs and a desk. Window opened to let fresh air in. The best part of our stay? The BREAKFAST. The ladies running the breakfast were very welcoming and nice. A ton of variety--meats, cheeses, breads, yogurt, coffee, tea, juices, eggs, sausages, oh, my! My only feedback here is that I felt like I was being watched by the ladies running breakfast to see when I'd be finished with my plate or my juice so they could come by and take it to the kitchen to be washed. Kind of unnecessary when you have three stacks of plates near the buffet. ??? Check out was a breeze--we would stay here again!

Easy check-in, free coffee 24 hours a day at reception. Big room with nice beds and a bathroom with a good shower. We were not disturbed by the traffic at night. Good breakfast buffet with a wide selection of everything possible. I recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very close to many of Bamberg's most important sites. The breakfast at the hotel was good as well. The room was very quiet at night. The tissue box in our room only had two tissue in it when we arrived. However, the staff were friendly and held our bags while we traveled around the city.

Bamberg is such a gorgeous town that I expected to stay in some charming little boutique hotel. But I was impressed with the great reviews and the good price of the BW, as well as its convenient proximity (600 meters) from the Bahnhof, so I booked. And so glad I did. Great staff, comfortable accommodations, excellent breakfast, nice little lounge available all day long. Do you get the UNESCO World Heritage vibe? No. But that's okay - there's plenty of that as soon as you step out the door. But if you want a cozy clean nest with charming helpful staff, this is the place.

Best Western location is within walking distance to town center. The staff was very friendly and acommodating. Rooms were a good size and clean. Definitely worth the price! The little bar in the lobby was very convienent and offered a good selection of wines and bears.

The Best Western in Bamberg is in an excellent location and just 10 minute walk to old town. The Hotel has a nice grocery store adjacent to it that has anything you could ever want. Parking is 10 euros on sight. Breakfast is free and very good. The price is moderate and is very clean. Would I stay there again. Yes I will, 100% for sure.

Good location, convenient walking distance to both the train station and the altstadt, and right around the corner from 2 brauhauses (!). Also - the breakfast is extensive and high quality. And the free laundry facility is extremely handy. The rooms are spacious enough and quite comfortable. The desk staff was helpful with directions and local advice. I could not recommend this hotel more highly. We'll be staying here for sure the next time we visit Bamberg - hopefully soon!

This was my second visit and again this hotel excelled. Everything was perfect. Staff were friendly, spoke English and were very helpful. Rooms quite large and very comfortable beds. Breakfast substantial with lots of choice. Complimentary coffee in reception. Everything a good hotel should be.

This was the second stay at the BW Bamberg, I booked three rooms for visiting family from the USA and NZ, they were all extremely satisfied with the experience. Breakfast was the best of our trip, the staff was amazing and the hotel was clean and well maintained. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in Bamberg, great location as it is perfectly situated between the train station and old city.

I agree with all the comments made in the 'What a surprise' review. This is an excellent hotel a block away from the bridge into the old town. Very easy to find by car and although there is a charge to use the garage, a lift connects to all floors. It's also close to the station (good for day trips to Wurzburg, Nurnberg and Bayreuth). An extra plus point was the free (yes, free) use of a washing machine, dryer and iron.

I was a bit dubious about this booking as hotels in England in this chain are best avoided. This centrally located hotel was easy to find and has its own underground car-park costing E10 for 24 hours. The lobby is spacious with seating, reception, lift and bar and to the right of the entrance was a table with tea, coffee, water and cakes always available. The pleasant and helpful receptionists recommended and booked a restaurant table for us. The room was quiet, comfortable and spacious with two double beds and two comfortable chairs (makes a change) and an en-suite with a walk-in shower; toiletries were provided. The hair drier had a nozzle (good) but the towels could have been a little thicker. There was a safe but no fridge. The hotel is in the town centre so it is an easy walk across the bridge into the old town with its' famous breweries. Breakfast was taken in a room on the first floor, which has a terrace, and an excellent selection of food and drink was available including four kinds of milk, and sekt. Why can't British Best Western hotels be as good as this one?

We spent 2 nights at this hotel situated an easy 10 minute walk to the old town. It is a 2 minute walk to 2 very old breweries (Spezial and Fassla) where we enjoyed delicious traditional Franconian dishes. The breakfast buffet was extensive and available in a bright breakfast room. The Bedroom, though on the small side by North America standards, was very well designed maximizing the space available. The wifi had good strength. Parking, though payable at the hotel, was in a public parking building adjacent to the hotel so you could take your luggage to an elevator directly to your floor. There was a nice terrace courtyard with tables and chairs where you could enjoy the water, tea, coffee and baked goods available throughout the day. Staff were very friendly. Bamberg is a very scenic medieval town well worth a few days of exploration.

All was good, although the room is on the small side, it was clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very good, with ample choice and both inside and outside sitting area. There is always water, coffee and tea at the reception and nice sitting area at the entrance, especially for summer evenings. The staff was also very helpful and friendly.

The hotel is well located some 10 minutes walk from the Altstadt. Our room was small but comfortable and had tea and coffee facilities but no minibar. Superior rooms are larger. Coffee and water are available all day in the lobby and croissants in the morning, a nice touch. There is also is a small bar but no restaurant. The receptionists were welcoming and helpful and the staff in the breakfast room were both quick and efficient. The extensive breakfast buffet was very good indeed with a great choice of dishes. We felt it was a little expensive but all in all a good hotel.

There was nothing really wrong with the hotel, I just don't feel I got what I paid for. It came out to be $175 (Eu150) on a Sunday night (typically a cheap night for hotels) for a room so small I couldn't open my suitcase, an uncomfortable bed with low quality bedding, a mediocre breakfast, and a bathroom that didn't even have a real door (presumably because a real door couldn't swing open in the tiny room). If it had only been $100 or less this would be a 5-star review. The value just isn't there. I picked this place over a dozen quaint hotels in the old town for one reason -- It had a washing machine. This is something that most hotels overlook, but it is a necessity for anyone doing heavy traveling for more than week. There were some issues with the laundry too, but that was due to inconsiderate fellow guests, not the hotels fault. The service here was also very friendly and helpful. On site parking was convenient, but you have to pay extra for that.

Great value-for-money, branded hotel a short walk to the center of the Old Town. A very comfortable smaller room with modern, large-screen TV and air-conditioning. Unfortunately, no mini-bar or bar-fridge :-( Please note, those not used to big, soft, square German pillows will probably find that they do not provide adequate support for the neck and head, so either bring your own from home or make sure you ask for additional pillows. The breakfast was extensive, fresh and tasty. The lobby-bar was well-stocked and very convenient - try the local beers and Franken wine :-) The free little refreshment table in the foyer (with tea, coffee, cold water and pastries) was a nice touch and well-appreciated. Check-in and -out was simple and efficient.Thoroughly recommended!

Took a group of 34 here last weekend. An excellent hotel. Good location near station and not too long a walk (15 mins) from Altstadt. Rooms are excellent. Really comfortable beds, great bathrooms with walk in power showers and a great breakfast. If you like beer it's literally 50m from arguably the two best breweries in Bamberg- Spezial and Fässla. Great value too. Staff excellent. Super efficient check in and out for such a large group. Call hotel to get best rate especially if you have a group.

My first business trip to Bamberg and I stayed 10 days in June. This was a very good option as a female business traveler. The staff was excellent, helpful and accommodating. They have good amenities, laundry service, breakfast included and very good. And a small lounge offering drinks and snacks at night. Two biergartens around the corner and convenient walking everywhere. Good job Best Western as I will be visiting about 3x per year. My only complaint was room had odor and probably carpet needed cleaning. Air Conditioning could have been more efficient but at least it worked!

My wife and I traveled Germany from June 25-July 9 2018. We stayed mostly at Best Western Hotels. Bamberg Best Western included breakfast which was great and the location was convenient to the Rail Station and Allstadt (Old Town). They had the wrong name on our reservation but none the less, upgraded us to a junior suite which was huge. They did not participate in the Best Western rewards program but the upgrade made up for it. A very fine hotel!

I cannot recall a better hotel. Arrival: parking is under the hotel with a lift directly up to reception. Complementary coffee (24/7) and pastries (while available) in reception. Friendly and efficient check-in. Room: Amercian size. Fridge. AC. Couch & armchair. Spotlessly clean crisp bed linen. Fluffy duvets. No corridor or neighbour noise. Flat screen TV with perfect reception (not usually important for me, but the World Cup is on). Bathroom: spotlessly clean, shower and separate bath. Breakfast: best spread I have come across anywhere. Really good quality and variety. Hot & cold buffet. Excellent staff who clear away plates quickly. Option to dine on terrace. Other: the availability of a washing machine and dryer was most welcome, halfway through our 4 week trip. The fact that it was free was a very pleasant surprise. Easy 10 minute, flat, stroll to town centre. Brauerei Spezial around the corner was handy for food and drinks, the evening we arrived. Summary: this is an excellent hotel. I am delighted we chose it. By far the best of the 10 hotels we have stayed in so far on this trip. It is excellent.

I choose this hotel over welcome hotel in Bamberg and didn't regret. This one is close to Rail station, river and food market. Hotel rooms were maintained well and I love their buffet breakfast service. Reception services were very good and friendly. Laundry service available in 3rd floor. If visit this place again and would choose this hotel again. Only issue i had no restaurant service in this hotel

We chose only had a night stay while doing a tour of Bavaria Christmas markets, so we needed a hotel that was ideally situated. This BW was located conveniently so that you walk to the sights/restaurants and also to/from the train with luggage. The price was reasonable, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was perfect!

I booked a two night stay here as we were celebrating a friends 60th birthday. Hotel is in a great location, a ten minute walk from the station, and about the same to the old part of Bamberg. Two breweries within a five minute walk! Modern, clean hotel with friendly staff. Excellent breakfast choice in the morning. Only downside. It only has one lift so you can wait a while for it during busy times.

We find that the Best Western imprimatur usually ensures quality in European hotels, and this property is no exception. Modern and efficient, it's more a business than tourist hotel, but this implies no criticism for the excellent, helpful staff and modern, efficient touches to the room and public areas. We had a striking corner mini-suite that was sunny and comfortable. Also took advantage of self-serve laundry (they'll give you detergent for .2 Euros.) and bought some wine and snacks at the super market next door, which seemed a smaller German version of Whole Foods. Breakfast array was plentiful and tasty, with healthy options as well as the usual cheese and cold cuts. Parking is in public garage below the building--10 Euro a day. Hotel is easy walking distance to the old town and all Bamberg sites. It's also very close to two friendly local beer pubs and (should you be in the mood) across the street from a sushi restaurant. We would definitely choose this place in any future visits to Bamberg.

The Hotel is located approx 10 mins walk from the Station and 5 mins from the old town or the Tourist part of the town. We stayed for one night and we were very happy with our stay. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was great. They even had sekt included in the breakfast. In the Lobby, they always had Lemon water, coffee, tee and Croissants available free of charge. They offer free self-service laundry. There are lot of eating options nearby. The rooms were clean and decent size. I would highly recommend the Hotel.

Stay here for four nights. Hotel is located closed to downtown touristic area (10 minutes by walk) The room is comfortable, very clean but not so big. The hotel staff is very helpful and kind. Excellent breakfast with very kind staff who really takes care of you. No restaurant then you have to get out. I recommend it.

Welcome was friendly. I was not totaly happy with y room and they change it. The room are a bit tiny. The Hotel is in a calm area. The breakfast have good choice with fresh products. At the lobby you have access to water and some snacks. If i go back in this area i will probably use thos hotel again

Very friendly welcome at the reception, good service and good information about restaurants close by (no restaurant in the hotel available for dinner), and the girls at the reception also serve you the beer at the small bar next to the reception area (no draught beer though). All in all: excellent! On the lobby floor, there is a small stand with water, coffee and pastries, served all day for no extra cost. We came by car, and the parking is directly below the hotel - you can validate your ticket at the reception. Cost is €10 per day of stay. Room is small but clean, equipped with the necessary stuff (waterboiler, some amenities like showergel, also a hairdryer available). Bed is comfortable, temperature is easily changed. Some remarks: I don't like the way the electricity shuts down immediately when you take out the keycard in the room (on the plus side: there is a power outlet available that does not stop when you take out the key card). If you book a Comfort Single room for one person, you get the typical 'one and a half-size bed' that you often get in Germany - I like my beds kingsize, even when I am alone. For the rest no special remarks on the room, it is functional and the wifi (user and pass given at the reception desk) is fast. Breaksfast on the first floor: breakfast selection is good, with friendly staff, ready to fill up you cup with coffee. Enough eggs, juice, salmon, yoghurt, bread etc. It can get quite crowded in the morning around 7:30. All in all a good hotel for a business stay in Bamberg.

Lovely clean and bright hotel (though I found the external colour scheme was a touch garish). Staff friendly efficient and helpful. The disabled room was spacious (good for wheelchairs 'parking' and turning circle). The attached bathroom equally generous and well thought out. The only slight downside the room was so hot and stuffy and the Air Conditioning didn't 'react' to turning down the thermostat. Maybe they don't have the full Air Con during the winter months. We opened the window problem solved. Meals only breakfast is provided but what a breakfast! There was something for my diabetic companion as well as the 'larger appetite' appetite such as mine (& free sparkling wine as it was mothers day). It was our first experience of Best Western and we would return again no problem to this chain.

Hotel is in a very good location and the old town is about 10 minutes walk. Receptionist was very helpful and polite, rooms were lovely and clean and beds are very comfy. The buffet breakfast is so lovely and lots to choose and it's included in the price. Will defiantly use this hotel again.

Great value for money and excellent location between the train station and the old town centre. Very comfortable rooms with everything you could need, and nicely furnished too. I had a generously sized single room at the back of the hotel on the third floor which was quiet and you could even see the spires of the cathedral and churches in the old town. Loved the free tea and coffee in the reception area. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast buffet too, included in the room rate.

Visited a few days ago for one night and from start to finish treated very well. This hotel adds the small touches such a coffee/pastries in the reception area, kettle and beverages in the room and very friendly staff. Our room was very clean and they seemed a really good size.

Just 10-15 minutes walk from the old town, this is a nice, quiet place to stay. And self serve free laundry, which is definitely a plus! Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent with a large selection. Parking was conveniently located under the hotel and was reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again if we come back through.

This was an excellent place to stay in the pretty town of Bamberg. It is just outside the old city so easy to find by car and there is parking on site. It is an easy walk into the quaint old town across the bridge with its market and beautiful buildings. The room was comfortable and clean and the hotel has the added bonus of a guest laundry on site which is free. The reception staff were helpful and spoke good English.

Friendly, helpful stay. Best breakfast spread we had during our trip. Nice selections offered. Room was clean and well maintained. Easy walk to downtown Bamberg. Parking was also cheap at 10 a night compared to other hotels/city parking that we encountered. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for a night, got here pretty late but no problem checking in. Reception was warm. There was complimentary tea and fruit infused water at the counter. Breakfast was terrific and the room was a good size. Within walking distance to the old town- turn left and cross the bridge and you are there. Supermarket on the ground floor, really convenient

room was very nice and the breakfast was better than anything I have had in the USA and the kitchen staff was outstanding, they waited on you hand and foot, it is set up for business people and Americans, easy walking distance to shopping, underground parking is available, it's our second stay and this last time we stated for 30 days

Stayed 1 night at Best Western. Location is 7-10 minutes walking distance from the train station. Otherwise, you can take buses for shorter walking distance. Location is 15 minutes walk to Bamberg old town. Room is clean, equipped with room amenities which include kettle and hairdryer. Bed is comfortable. Breakfast selection is decent, with excellent staff service. Takeaway cups for coffee or tea is provided at breakfast as well, feels great to enjoy a hot drink while walking to Bamberg old town. Free coffee and tea at the lobby at all times. Front desk staff is friendly as well. Will choose to stay here again, due to shorter distance from train station.

This is the 3rd or 4th time we've stayed here. We've always had great service. The staff is very friendly and can speak English. It's located with-in a 10 minute walk to the old town of Bamberg. It's with-in an easy walk to the baunhof. Cost is lower than some of the other hotels and I believe the Best Western has more to offer. We were able to check in early, but our room was not ready so the staff upgraded us. We received one of the best ones in the hotel.

Excellent breakfast, cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff, convenient location. Additional pull-out bed useful for daughter on erasmus. when accommodation was not ready. Near station and old town. Tea/coffee/croissants in reception area a nice touch.

Not cheap, but centrally located and a reasonably good quality. Breakfast was nice, but very busy. The room was clean and presentable. Service at the reception was very good and we were able to leave the car in their car park after we checked out.

Good and free parking, very friendly and professional staffing, luxury rooms and a very very good breakfast. Not giving them a maximum score wouldn't be fair. Getting at such a level is hard, staying there even harder. Keep up the good work. Bamberg city is worth a visit. Staying at this hotel is more then a pleasure.

I stayed here for one night and it was a good location, near to the old centre. the room was good, but the air-conditioning did not work at all. Upside, you can open the window all night as there is little noise. do not expect great large rooms, it are correct BW rooms, nothing to complain. PS nearby is a great true Italian ice-cream parlour !

We were very happy with our stay here. Room was kept very clean and upkeep is obviously on- going. Staff were warm and friendly. Lots of little extras- drinks always available in reception, ice machine, laundry room- were thoughtfully designed to make the stay more comfortable. Breakfast buffet had a plentiful choice. Air con was super- keeping the room lovely and cool in the heat. Would recommend without hesitation.

This hotel was by far the quietest hotel I have ever stayed in. On arrival the staff was very friendly and helpful despite my inability to speak the German language. My room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast buffet was tasty and the staff kept your coffee refilled. This hotel is near the train station, bus stops, and the City Center. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Bamberg.

2nd time in Bamberg and 2nd time that we took BW Bamberg and again a good decision. Nice and modern rooms with a top level bed. Located next to the old town. Easy accessible by car and old easy accessible by feet. Around the corner 2 nice breweries with good food. For breakfast a wide range of food with perfect quality and the option to sit outside. We would take again.

During my July trip through southern Germany, Bamberg was the first city I stayed in. The Best Western Hotel Bamberg on Luitpoldstrasse 7 could not be better. Close to the historic center, it offers on-site parking (however it is paid separately but not expensive). Have a nice breakfast. Comfortable rooms with good WiFi service. An excellent item in the small southern cities: it has air conditioning. Mainly to face the European heat. Highly recommend and would go back again.

Our family of four (2 adults, 2 preschoolers) stayed in one of their suites (1 king size bed in the bedroom and pull-out couch in the living room) during the first week of July and all of us loved it. While the hotel is in walking distance to the old part of town, it was extremely quiet and we enjoyed the very clean and well appointed rooms (air condition was an additional plus). The parking garage is right underneath and for travelers that explore Germany or Europe over several weeks or have kids, the free use of a washer and dryer on the third floor was an extremely convenient amenity (just bring your own laundry detergent or buy it for a few cents at the front desk). Staff was super-friendly and very helpful during our stay and the daily breakfast buffet, which was included in the price, offered everything one could wish for. For coffee lovers: they also offer a full-automatic espresso/coffee machine during breakfast which makes delicious Espressos, Latte Macchiatos etc.

I have stayed in other best westerns (in the states) and this place is significantly better. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a small bar area by the check in desk, it is a great place for a nightcap after a long day of exploring the city. (It is in walking distance of the old town) Also, in the morning the serve breakfast. The food is good and they has a lot of variety. Over all, this is a great place to stay for a weekend trip to bamberg.

The Best Western was exactly what we expected. It is a charmless hotel in a charming city. However, it does a great job of providing the services promised. It is an easy walk into the old part of Bamberg. While it is on a busy street, we heard no street noise. The rooms are comfortable and roomy. The bathroom was modern and clean. (Washcloths would have been appreciated) The free WiFi worked great.The included breakfast was excellent--I can't imagine wanting anything more. Parking was ample for a reasonable charge. The hotel is also an easy walk away from the train station. If you want charm, look elsewhere. If you want a modern, comfortable hotel, the Best Western is a great choice.

During our recent Europe tour, we consider this to be best hotel experience. Rooms very comfortable and spacious. Staff at reception very warm and friendly. Always willing to help with advice about the city and its attractions. Good breakfast. Free wifi. About 10 mins walk from the train station. Two breweries with restaurants close by. One can reach the city centre in about 10 mins by walk.

We booked a suiteroom and it was very nice. Comfortable beds and perfect pillows. Hotel is Clean and modern. Parking under the hotel. Breakfast was good too. In the lobby there is free coffee all day. We walked from the train station about 10 min walk Wifi ok but not the best.

We had stayed here 4 years ago and really liked the facilities and location so we had to give it another try and we were pleasantly surprised. We were upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite with a huge living room and bedroom with lots of storage which was much more than we needed for a one night stay. The facilities were well kept up and did not show any age from 4 years ago. Everything was very clean including the bathroom. There were complimentary drinks available in the minibar for the guests so that was a nice touch. Location was great with easy parking underground. Breakfast was terrific with excellent services. There are more English programs on tv than the average hotels in Germany. Well worth a re-visit.

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel has underground parking facilities (€ 10 per day, payable at the front desk; don't try to use the paying machine) with an elevator into the hotel. It always stops at the lobby level, regardless of which level is selected. Front desk staff: friendly and helpful. Our room (119) was spacious, close to the breakfast room on the first floor. The twin beds were among the widest we encountered in Europe and were very comfortable. The free WiFi worked well. In spite of the hot weather, the airco kept the room nicely cool. The spotlessly clean bathroom had a walk-in shower with a single shower head. The bathroom size was adequate, not much more. The breakfast buffet gave a large selection of good quality food and the large breakfast room even had outdoor tables on its broad balcony. The hotel's location is perfect: just a few minutes' walk from the beautiful old town. We had one incident, though. The fire alarm went off just before seven o'clock in the morning. The culprit was a toaster in the breakfast room, unwilling to release its toast. The fire brigade arrived within six or seven minutes and gave clearance a few minutes later. The safety system passed the test!

Hotel location is good, it's in city center. Other side the road is Domino's pizza place, if you get hungry, and it's open late. Under the hotel has public parking garage. Hotel has small lobby bar, but don't order the Bitburger beer.... it's taste like a Finnish beer (reindeer pee). Room was ok, but unfortunately they don't know here what kind is allergy room. This room had feather pillows and blankets. Also floor was carpet, not hardwood floor or laminate. Also we couldn't keep window open, cause there was under the window public cigarettes smoking area.

Based on TA reviews, we chose Best Western in Bamberg for our two-night stay. It was clean, modern and welcoming. It was bright and cheerful (not like some hotels at the same level we've stayed in, let's say, in Paris), and the front desk staff were extremely helpful and speak English. The breakfast was exquisite and the servers couldn't have been nicer. The room was quiet and the beds comfortable. My only complaint in this quite surprising hotel was that the towels looked like they belonged in a hotel-no-tell. In comparison with the lovely linens, they were tawdry and like rags. Other than these minor complaints, we would gladly return to Best Western if in Bamberg again. It is centrally and perfectly located and easy to reach both train station and old city by walking. It is far enough from the train station so you are not in a train station neighborhood.

Clean, rooms are sizable enough for 1 person, may get tighter with 2. Location is 10 to 15 mins from the actual downtown. Staff is friendly, breakfast is opulent and worth the extra 5 bucks. Small hotel bar as well. The location slightly outside of the old rown makes it more quiet no doubt. Recommended

The hotel was a short walk from the train station, and further on a short walk to the main square. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. And I enjoyed the cookies and other snacks in the lobby. The room was well-appointed and comfortable. The wifi worked well. Breakfast was great! I particularly enjoyed the smoked salmon. A nice grocery store was a half block away, and I found all the supper items I needed there.

This is a modern, comfortable hotel and it is convenient to the training station. We drove to Bamberg in January and appreciated the public parking with a lift to the hotel lobby. The rooms are spacious, well furbished with good Wi-Fi connection. The bathroom is small but has a very nice shower . Breakfast can satisfy all tastes and offers gluten-free products. The staff are friendly and ready to solve and problems. The hotel is in a good position and Bamberg 's places of interest are at walking distance. I would strongly reccomend it.

Location of this hotel is great - minutes walk from the train station and the lovely old town commercial/shopping area. There's a supermarket adjacent to the hotel selling a wide variety of organic produce and food. Basement car-parking is available (overnight at 8 euros). Checking in was good and the staffs were polite and friendly. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious (by European standards). Being in a modern building, the room has air conditioning too. Breakfast was good and adequate. Overall, a nice and pleasant stay in beautiful Bamberg!

Our room was on the 1st floor (2 for Americans) on the backside of the hotel. It was very quiet. We stayed during a quite warm period of September and took advantage of the air conditioning, not always available in Germany. The parking garage was under the hotel and that is a great item in Bamberg. Room is adequate in size and the bathroom is great, modern, light and very clean. Breakfast buffet was first class with many choices of food and drinks. Coffee options were amazing, from espresso to decaf. Balcony gave us the option to sit outside and enjoy the day while eating breakfast. Staff at front desk were great. They made reservations for us at the restaurants near the hotel and were helpful with other information.

Reached this hotel walking from train station with relative ease. Met by warm friendly staff and check in very efficient. Our room was quiet, comfortable, with great storage and spacious. Location is a short walk to the island where the main tourist attractions are located. Hotel is adjacent to a food store, ATM's, other shopping and restaurants. A single washer and dryer are available for guests, and we managed to catch up one evening on a week plus of dirty laundry. Complimentary breakfast provided a wide range of options for guests. After a few days stay we were in great shape to tackle the next few weeks of our long vacation.

The room was not large but designed quite well. The shelves and cupboard were built with enough storage space and well-utilised. Parking at the underground basement was easy, with direct access to the hotel to facilitate loading and unloading of luggage. Parking cost €8 per day. Check-in was done quickly, and there were complimentary pastries, coffee & tea at the lobby, for those rushing off and needing a quick bite and cuppa to go. The main breakfast in the hotel was good with a large variety. The hotel also shares the same building as Denn biomarket (organic supermarket) and it was easy to stock up on drinks and snacks. There was also a laundry machine in the hotel. The location of the hotel was north of the river, so walking to the town centre at Gruner Market took about 10-15 minutes.

We stayed there for 2 nights with a group of 10 friends. Very friendly reception. Rooms spacious, clean and with a good bathroom. Parking easy in the hotel garage. Very short walk to city centre and a few great restaurants/pubs. Most amazingly for the birthday of one of our group members the staff decorated the breakfast table and we had some sparkling wine on the table for everyone, all complementary. What a service. 5 stars for that alone.

Best Western Bamberg is a good, 4 star hotel located relatively close to the old city center. The room was spacious and had all the amenities and comfort you can expect from a 4 star hotel. The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient.

This Hotel was perfect for our 3 night stay in the picturesque Bamberg. It had car parking,generous size rooms,decent walk into the old town (not too far..but not too close) friendly helpful staff And the most delicious & varied breakfast I have come across so far on our trip..even a glass of bubbles for breakfast ! This was a great hotel. Close to shops and transport. Staff directions for things to do were accurate and helpful. We went to Nuremberg from here by train and it was easy and a great day. Definitely recommended

As a solo traveller I had the good fortune to spend 4 nights in this hotel recently.From the minute I was booked in at reception by the lovely Marion I was treated very well. Everyone was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble, whether it was helping me with my WiFi or getting milk for my evening cup of tea. The room was very comfortable and breakfast very good. Great location, close to the station and the old town. This is the first review I've ever written,which gives an indication of how highly I rate this hotel.

This hotel is conveniently located on the route between the station and the old town - less than 10 mins walk to the station, 15 mins to the old town. As expected from a Best Western, my room was comfortable and I had no problems during my stay. Although the hotel is in a modern building, it felt quite traditional and good quality in terms of furnishing. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was very good, served in a lovely room on the first floor. You can even eat on the terrace if you are lucky (limited tables). Others have mentioned the adjacent supermarket, but I would suggest looking elsewhere - it's an 'organic' supermarket and therefore very expensive. There's some decent restaurants nearby, though a far wider selection is available in the old town.

Stayed here for only one night unfortunately. Reception staff were great; room is huge, clean and comfortable. Located just across the bridge from the Old Town. Breakfast excellent. Best coffee we encountered in all of Europe. Easy parking underneath. They have also a room with washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities. Can it get any better than this?

This was a second stay at the rather centrally located hotel after a couple of years, as we were very satisfied with our first stay. The building is still very well maintained. A paid parking garage is located in the basement of the hotel. The receptionist at the front desk was very friendly. However, she was not able to help us when the Wi-Fi in the room did not work. She wrote down the problem when we checked out, but this was not the solution we expected. A nice gesture of the hotel is that you are offered free drinks (e.g. coffee) at a machine in the lobby. The breakfast buffet was varied and of excellent quality. Our room was furnished as expected: efficient air conditioning, safe, fridge and kettle. Cold drinks could be bought at a vending machine. There were ice cubes, too. While the TV worked perfectly, the Wi-Fi did not work at all although the hotel claims that it is available in all areas. It is included in the room rate. The signal strength in our room was far too weak. As this problem did not turn up during our last stay it is to be assumed that not all rooms have appropriate Wi-Fi access. Although the hotel can generally be recommended, you should be careful if you need Wi-Fi in your room. It might be a good idea to phone the hotel before you book to find out if a room with a strong Wi-Fi signal is available.

What a surprise. This hotel is close to the Old Town, walking distance. The room is spacious, with tea and coffee making facilities. The shower is walk in. The bed was two twins put together to make a King. Breakfast was included in our tariff and was a buffet with a wide range of choices. The hotel had a bar and free water and coffee and tea making facilities in the foyer. There were also snacks. Parking cost 8Euro per day. On the 3rd floor was a laundry facility. Use of this was free. The staff were helpful and cheerful.

The Best Western Hotel in Bamberg is in a great location. Convenient to Old town, breweries and great restaurants. Rooms are clean, but a bit on the small side. Staff is helpful and very friendly. Breakfast included in price of the room is also a plus. We really enjoyed our stay in Bamberg.

Came to Bamberg on a whim and booked the Best Western. Stayed in a single room which was fairly spacious, bright, and modern. WiFi was great, bathroom was nice and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Location is very close to all of the tourist sights, without being on top of them. Everything is accessible on foot within 5 - 20 minutes. Great parking facility and a reasonable 8 Euro rate. There is a supermarket in the same complex which makes it easy to pick up a few groceries. Overall, a wonderful place to stay for my quick trip to Bamberg!

We visited Bamberg for a weekend trip in August 2016. We stayed at the Best Western hotel. The location is perfect and has secured, underground parking. Overall, it was an excellent stay. The room was clean and the friendly staff was always very helpful. The included breakfast was good. The only negative was that the Internet did not work in our room, so my husband had to hang out in the lobby to work.

I loved this place. Ultraclean, very friendly staff, front desk perfectly bilingual, large room, excellent shower. The breakfast buffet is exceptional, and the coffee excellent as well. Very well located, about 10 minutes stroll to the hear of the old city. Quiet, too, despite fairly busy location. Would choose this property again for sure. About my only complaint is the WiFi signal is weak in certain locations -- ok for handheld devices, but sometimes not for laptops, and WiFi access needs to be renewed every 48 hours. Small points compared to all else.

Welcome drinks and tea or coffee available in reception add to making this a great place to stay. Rooms are large enough, clean and modern. Its only a short walk through the new town over the bridges to the old town. Internet speed was OK.

Wow, this property really surprised us. Excellent common areas, rooms are big, with good furnishings, and fantastic bathroom. You are about 2 blocks from the Bamberg Altstadt pedestrian zone, and just a little further from the main train station in the opposite direction. The BW offers a fantastic buffet breakfast, in a large bright dining area, and they have a nice outdoor seating area as well. Coffee and water are in the lobby 24-hours a day, and they have pastries in the morning. Large parking garage, and an easy drive if you are driving.

Enjoyed a one night stay in Bamberg at the the Best Western. The hotel is an easy walk to the the main tourist area. Hotel was clean, quiet, had air conditioning and a nice free breakfast. We were able to have a relaxing breakfast in an outdoor area. I had made room requests and they were honored. Parking was below the hotel. Was a great location to tour Bamberg. Loved the town and hotel.

As often happens on TripAdvisor, reviewers have apparently rated their satisfaction with this hotel rather than its overall quality--hence, it's current rating as Bamberg's #1 hotel. And maybe in its price range it is the best one. I was certainly satisfied with my stay there, and thought it an excellent hotel in its proper bracket. But it's not a 5~star hotel, just so you know. And again, I don't mean that as a criticism. But if you're hunting for an upscale hotel (i.e., large rooms, soft beds, an on-property restaurant, room service, central location, etc.), this isn't that hotel. The BW Bamberg is about a 20-25 minute walk from the train station and about the same distance across the river to the center of old town. It's on an unremarkable street with only plain-fronted buildings and a small pizza shop across from it, so if there are any rooms with a view they can't be many, as only the narrow side of the hotel faces town. And if you're in Bamberg to spend time in the old part of town, then you'll lose at least 40-50 minutes getting there every time you walk back and forth. The hotel property is nice looking, but unremarkable. There is a small seating area with covered patio tables out front, and free parking in an underground garage. The lobby is very spacious by European standards, the desk help is very efficient and friendly, and they have a fruit-infused water table by the main door for grabbing a quick drink when you go in and out--which is a very nice touch. There is a free laundry room with a single washer/dryer, and you can buy soap at the desk. There can be quite a wait to use it, given restricted operating hours and depending on the time of day (and be aware that the front-load washer requires a 15-minute wait after it stops for the water to drain and the door to unlock, which often causes confusion and slows up the queue considerably--a sign to that effect would help). But a free laundry room in Europe is a great plus. The hotel also rents bikes for 10 euros a day, and there are plentiful bike paths to explore in Bamberg and it's a great way to sightsee, so that's a nice plus as well. There is also a good bakery and ice cream shop a block and a half around the back corner of the hotel. Rooms are fairly large, some with separate seating areas. Rooms are clean and the bathrooms are modern and nicely designed. The beds aren't soft by any means, but they are comfortable for European beds. And the free wifi worked great (though I had to sign in with a different password after two days). The breakfast is good and relatively plentiful, but just contains the usual items (hard-boiled and scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, meats and cheeses, breads and some nice sweet pastries, good rolls and croissants, several yogurt favors and granola add-ins, muesli, and fruit). It's not the best free breakfast that I've had in a German hotel (that distinction goes to the Marc Munich, which is worth a visit just for their amazing breakfasts!). But, again, for the $150 euro price-range, it's a good breakfast and better than most. And there is a small outside patio off the breakfast room and an expansion room across the hall for when it gets busy. In short, the Bamberg BW is a very good hotel. But for a hotel that costs 150-200 euros but is without up-scale amenities and located on the outskirts of town, you should expect it to be. What sets it apart from others in its price-range are it's great condition and the nice extras like bike rentals, laundry room, water-table by the front door, free parking, and of course, it's wonderful staff.

I was floored at how comprehensively good the Best Western Bamberg was. Very nice, clean rooms with excellent bathrooms. Great (and large) breakfast and a friendly staff that also spoke wonderful English. I love the fact that they also have a washer and dryer that's accessible and free to guests :-)

I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. Very good location away from the noise and tourists, yet very close to the sightseeing. Clean comfortable good size suite. Reception staff is friendly. Breakfast buffet was very good. Parking directly under the hotel. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Weekend stay after a business trip in Koln. Convenient location, very nice breakfast buffet, friendly and helpful reception staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Nice to see a small bar/lounge as part of the hotel to catch a drink with friends and watch the Euro Cup soccer match.

We were looking for a hotel that was walking distance from the train station as we were travelling by train. The hotel is about 10 mins walks from the train station and also within walking distance to all the tourist attractions in the Old Town. Staff at Reception were friendly and helpful. The breakfast spread had a large selection including a serve-yourself coffee machine with wonderful coffee. Our room was spacious and clean and comfortable. We did request for a quiet room when we did our booking and despite our room facing the street corner, it was very quiet. The room does not have any tea or coffee making facilities but you will find coffee/tea, drinking water and pastries in the lobby throughout the day which was a very thoughtful touch. There is free wifi in the rooms as well as in the hotel area eg. the lobby and the breakfast room. There was nothing at all about the hotel that we were not satisfied with, and we would highly recommend this hotel if you're visiting Bamberg.

My wife and I stayed here on an overnight and everything was great. Not downtown per se but convenient to walk downtown 15 minutes or so. They had a laundry and we washed our clothes which was a wonderful surprise. They had a small outside biergarten and an excellent breakfast buffet. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Highly recommended.

I am a Virtuoso travel agent who was recently in Germany on a convention tour as a hosted buyer. We had the chance to stay at the BW Hotel Bamberg and enjoyed a one night stay. The hotel was clean, simple, efficient and a great German breakfast!

We stayed in Bamberg 2 nights and booked at Best Western, what a great choice. The car park is big and accessible, the service perfect with staff who actually have a good sense of humour, great extensive breakfast and just a short walk from the unesco listed old town of Bamberg. A little piece of luxury in a small German town.

A lovely new hotel 5 minute walk to one of the best old towns in the world. Staff very polite and helpful, rooms quiet. Breakfast ample with a nice coffee machine. Definitely a good place for all type of traveller, including families. Part king also available free of charge.

We spend one night @ Bamberg Best Western on March and we are very satisfied! The hotel is well located (just a 5 min. Walk from the railway station and city centre but also quiet). We got a free upgrade on a bigger room, which was well equiped, clean, with a fantastic bathroom. Breakfast was great including local products, glutein free and kids choices) Service was excellent!

This is an above average Best Western Hotel. Without requesting, we were upgraded to a corner suite with a bedroom and a separate living room/desk. Bathroom was remodeled and best out of 3 other locations that we visited in this trip. Very nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and spoke excellent English. Breakfast buffet had many choices of tasty cold meats, cheeses, granolas, bread, and fruit bar. Scrambled and boiled eggs were ok. Internet was slow for streaming but adequate for browsing. I had a teleconference with multiple breaks but communicated. Staff was quite helpful. We explored the city despite the snowstorm, and were able to visit most of the landmarks on foot - bring walking shoes for cobblestones streets. Despite the charm of downtown hotels, I preferred this location due to close location to train -allowed us to haul our two large suitcases from the station, had a supermarket next door-, expected business amenities -internet &, staff-, and closeness to historical areas to enjoy the sightseeing of a wonderful small medieval town. I definitely would return to this property (even without the lucky upgrade).

The best Western Bamberg is an easy walk from the station and a 5 minute walk to the heart of town. The rooms are well equipped,excellent bathroom and comfortable beds as well as good lighting. I like to be able to control the heating and open a window. Complimentary water in your room as well as coffee downstairs. A washing machine and dryer free of charge. Great free wifi. Very pleasant staff and a great breakfast. This hotel is excellent.

Best Western Bamberg, Bamberg, December 19 to December 20, 2015 we arrived by car and the Best Western has an underground garage with an elevator right up to the Hotel-Lobby. We received a pleasant WELCOME, had a smooth Check-in and were accommodated in room 110… the room was clean , has two twin beds , pushed together with clean bed-linen. There is a flat screen TV by Samsung, a sitting area, closet space, in room safe. You receive one bottle of Mineral Water free of charge. The bathroom has a shower , clean towels, hairdryer, magnifying mirror. In the Lobby you will find a free Coffee / Tea station where you can help yourself at anytime. ` The breakfast is outstanding, on the buffet you find various juices, assorted cold cuts, sliced salmon, cheeses, Mozzarella with tomatoes and basilica vinegar, boiled and scrambled eggs, various pastries, fresh fruit, cereal. You can brew your own coffee, espresso, cappuccino and the service is very efficient. I have a special thank you for the room attendant , I left a sentimental item on the night table. Two days later I contacted the hotel and was informed that the item I am looking for has been found and the hotel will ship it to me. Once I gave the address to the hotel, the reception promptly mailed it and I salute them too. This was wonderful SERVICE and a big thank you to the Best Western in Bamberg. Based on our experience we would stay at the Best Western again, we had a very enjoyable stay and a great experience.

The location of this hotel is perfect. The conditions around the hotel and the hotel itself was very very clean. Close to the train station and close to do downtown. Nice grocery store located directly next to the hotel. Self service parking garage was located downstairs. Check in was easy and fast. Front desk staff was very friendly. The room was a perfect size. Breakfast was perfect. Plenty of choices (including hot). The staff in the breakfast room was very friendly and were quick to bring coffee and replace food items. The internet was fast. Added bonus was a laundry room upstairs (free to use). The lobby offered free water, coffee (which was delicious) and pastries all day. Perfect. Our family will definitely stay in this hotel again when we return to Bamberg. Perfect sums it up.

The Best Western Hotel in Bamberg is in a modern building, above a large organic supermarket, between the train station and the main sights of this very pleasant town. Service is friendly and rooms are well appointed; the breakfast buffet is rather large and fresh (fruits are a bit scarce) and above average for middle class hotels.

Arrived late evening in Bamberg we were greeted by a warm and friendly receptionist who offered us a welcome drink to start with. In dire need of a place to eat she recommended us a restaurant nearby where unfortunately it was too late to be served. Back to the hotel she suggested a local brewery where we managed to have sausages and beer. The hotel is well located close to the center of the town and the touristic area. Third party operated parking is available in the basement. Coffee is available free of charge in the lobby around the clock. Our room was quiet, clean, spacious with functional furniture (sofa and coffee table), comfortable bed, free WiFi, TV with international channels, coffee/tea tray, complimentary water and apple juice. The bathroom was spacious as well with bath and walk-in shower. Too bad in the morning, the shower drain was half plugged and would have quickly resulted in flooding the room. We informed the reception and the problem was fixed when we came back 3 hours later. Breakfast was comprehensive and correct . Service has been excellent all throughout and, best of all, when checking out we were offered a box of sweets as compensation for the bathroom problem.

Very well located. Offers paid parking and the breakfast is just fabulous. The multiple options are just exquisite and the bread.... omg. The hotel is new and the rooms are comfortable and very very clean. Close to downtown, just across the bridge.

Stayed for one might as I was visiting a customer. The hotel is very clean and modern. I can only recommend it. The staff are friendly and helpful. How and eat at the 'spezial brauhaus' just around the corner. Great beer, atmosphere and food.

My wife, daughter, and I stayed in this hotel for one night during a weekend trip to Bamberg for sightseeing. We The hotel does appear to lack a bit of charm or character when you compare it to the surroundings in beautiful Bamberg, but the benefits far outweigh this minor setback. The hotel is a short 10 minute walk from the main train station, straight down the road, and is about halfway between the main train station and the main tourist area. It is set back off the street and is therefore very quiet. The hotel is less than two blocks from the Spezial brewery, which is one of Bamberg's most famous smoked beer stops. It is also pretty much connected to a fairly large supermarket. The receptionist offered us a free upgrade to a suite upon arrival (I think she saw the baby and wanted us to be in a room where other guests wouldn't be bothered by late night crying), and the room was perfect. We had a nice living room area and a separate bedroom. All was modern and clean. The best part was that we only shared one wall with another room and so did not have to worry about our daughter waking anyone or anyone waking us up. The lobby had free coffee, tea, and water available all day. The free breakfast was outstanding - a full buffet like you would expect to see at a much larger and more expensive hotel. The walk into the old-old town/tourist area is easy and scenic. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely choose it again on any future trips to Bamberg.

Arrived and greeted by lovely reception, Who explained about the hotel, area, and told us about the Christmas market and how to get there so all very nice Our room was Nice ,clean, and had everything you needed including Wifi in all the rooms. Breakfast was good not a great deal of cooked but plenty of other bits cereal, cold meats smoked salmon,salad sauces lot pastries you would not go Hungary and on Sunday champagne with your breakfast Coffee in the foyer 24 hours and pastries through out the day another lovely touch They have 2 computers which we used to print our return boarding passes and again no charge The whole of the staff here from cleaners to breakfast waiters and the reception are just so friendly. All 3 off the girls on reception we spoke with were out standing we had trouble with our door and they were so good and sorted it for us with out any problem in fact they told us to go out and not worry. If you are only thinking don't think just book this hotel you will not be disappointed And walking in to town is 5 mins over the bridge Also the rooms are sound proof so no noise

A 4 night stay with friends for a reunion. Check-in and out was efficient with us all expected and booked rooms allocated. Very clean, bright and airy hotel. Free coffee in the reception / foyer. 2 internet access computers also available in the reception / foyer. Room was clean and was fitted with air conditioning. TV had multi-national channels. Good water pressure in the shower. Hot and cold options for breakfast which was excellent

Super easy to find. Convenient and reasonable parking in the parking structure. Well - trained and attentive desk staff spoke German or English with me depending on how I addressed them, even switching when one of my questions got complicated. I had booked a single queen here on TA and got a double queen room. Not complaining. It was a very nice size. AIR CONDITIONING! You might not think this is a big deal until you tour Germany during a summer heat wave. Big breakfast room, lots of choices, and a handful of international newspapers to read as an extra bonus. Coffee and pastries in the lobby. So there weren't more than one or two English channels on the cable - go have a local beer and some Franconian food specialties and get out of the hotel!

The hotel and staff are excellent. Every effort is made to make the guests comfortable and to feel at home. The breakfast is a must have, don't miss it. It's the best way to begin your day. The convenient location of the hotel to the Bahnhof and inner city makes getting around very easy. It is also located close to the Fassla and Spezial Brew/Gasthof's - both have excellent food. We highly recommend this hotel when staying in Bavaria.

Great place to stay. Clean and spacious rooms. Friendly staff, from the front desk, breakfast bar, to the ladies keeping your room clean each day. All were great and helpful. Cost seems a little high for the area. But like I said Great place to stay.

The Good: Nice modern hotel with elevator and parking garage. Nice lavatory with vanity space. Staff very friendly and efficient. AC and internet work well. Good location in town. Free washer and dryer available. Coffee, tea, and pastries in lobby. The Bad: A little overpriced. No decent English TV stations. Bath towels are thin and inadequate to dry off after shower. Edge of glass shower wall is a little dangerous. Two single beds pushed together, not a double bed. Dryer doesn't work well. Smoking was allowed directly outside the front door of the hotel so we choked every time we went in and out.

I recently stayed at this hotel and I was not happy. I had called up Best Western to insure that I would get a room with a bathtub they told me the room I booked had a bathtub shower combo. They said they had called the hotel to confirm this. When I arrived no bathtub. I have stayed at this hotel in the past so I knew they had rooms with tubs. The girl at the front desk would not move us even though she had to cancel other guests because the hotel elevator was broken. No help what so ever. We were going to stay 3 nights but only stayed 1. In addition, the breakfast that was so very good the last time we stayed is not as good now. I will not stay there again.

A VERY FRIENDLY and comfortable hotel that my wife and I used as a stopover on our journey home to UK from Reit im Winkl. We found the staff very helpful, the room comfortbale, the breakfast excellent and overall an ideal place to stop.
