« Great staff and room »

Very pleasing to find staff who are actually interested in the person and doing the best deal with the client. Rooms were spotless and quiet. The effort that both staff I dealt went to to assist was unexpected but welcomed after a long day driving.

    « Fantastic »

Me and my daughter stayed over night and it was one of the best sleeps I had in a motel. We had the 2 bedroom room which had a living room and a small kitchen. The main bedrooms bed was very comphy. I went to sleep and slept all night, fantastic. The kitchen had a good size fridge. We had a bbq at the motel which also was really nice as the night was very warm. The owners also were fantastic. We asked if we could book in early and they were able to put us in at 11.30am instead of 2pm. I would absolutely go back there next time I'm passing through Bairnsdale.

« Overnight Stay in Bairnsdale »

A very well presented Best Western small motel (14 units) with everything needed for a short stay. Courteous and pleasant proprietors and staff. Good tariff. Well located in a very popular holiday area. Close to beaches, lakes and mountains. Recommended.

    « Great Location »

Ideally located in the main street. It's a 10 minute walk to the main shopping area and about 5 minutes in the other direction to the RSL. I thought the traffic noise may have been an issue as we were in one of the front rooms but I didn't hear a thing and slept like a log. Staff are fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. If you book directly with the motel you may get a discount. Would recommend if in the area

« Friendly and first rate »

Stayed one night but would return again if in that part of the world. Staff friendly and welcoming and helpful. Clean and classy for the modest tariff. Room and furniture very clean and comfortable. Bathroom/toilet clean and well stocked with quality products and quality linen in contrast to one from the same chain we stayed in for the previous two nights. On the main highway but we didn't notice any traffic noise. A healthy but do-able walk to the town centre - probably 15 to 20 minutes by foot.

    « Brilliant »

we booked this hotel as we were driving from Melbourne to Sydney and needed a stop over for the night. We were welcomed in by the friendly receptionist and given the keys to our 2 rooms. they were both clean and comfortable and we felt this place was great value for money. The following morning when we checked out we were greeted again by the friendly receptionist and her husband who both gave us lots of advise on the rest of our drive to Sydney. Great place and if we ever did the trip ahain definitely stay here.

« Comfortable and well equiped rooms »

Our overnight stay was comfortable and relaxing after having travelled all day in other areas. Our hosts were very friendly and the complimentary Continental breakfast was pleasant given that many now charge for this. Our room on the road side was a little subject to road noise however with the curtains drawn at night, all my wife heard were the ZZZ's coming from me.

    « Family Room »

Good space for 3 kids and parents. Clean room. Worth for money. 1 queen and 2 single beds equipped with heated blanket. Sofabed on request with an additional cost of $15.00 Enough towels for whole family!

« Great service, great rooms! »

We had a fantastic one night stay. We arrived late but the room was heated and a light left on to make us feel welcome. The room was huge, clean and very comfortable. There were lovely little touches like electric blankets, fresh milk, proper coffee and mugs, not tiny teacups! :) thanks to Debbie for being a great host.

« We were staying over night due to commitments spread over two days »

This motel has two of the friendliest people I have met running it, the rooms are a good size comfortable beds, a small lounge to sit on kitchen amenities and good shower. Very clean, and a mini bar available. There is a small pool and spa should you wish to indulge. We would definetly stay there again.

    « Great Stopover »

We stopped over for a night and found the stay great. Nice staff who were very helpful with advice on where to eat and how to get there. The room was clean and comfortable with some nice touches like tea leaves, treats and coffee for plunger. Good bathroom products and parking at the door. This is a traditional motel with the bare brick interior popular in the 70s. My only small complaint was the walls are thin and the people next to us were talking loudly to 3am. That in no way has anything to do with the managers who were horrified when I mentioned it to them. They advised me I should have rung them and they would have dealt with it. Either way I really would recommend this motel and will return on my next trip south.

    « Very good value »

Stayed for one night and would certainly use this motel again. Rooms were more than ample size and had all we needed, hosts Ian and Deb were most welcoming and clearly committed to good customer service, shower had good pressure and, perhaps best of all, the bed was extremely comfortable. As well, there was very little traffic noise considering it is on a major road. We walked to the RSL for dinner, an easy stroll. All in all, a fine first impression.

    « Crappy internet »

Came in for a one night stay. Excellent service and getting at front counter. Rings were clean if dated but comfy enough. My biggest complaint: the crappy internet. I was trying to send out sooner documents for work and the internet was so painfully slow I had to switch on my data roaming. Attached speed test pics.

    « Value and comfort »

Comfortable rooms with good bathroom amenities. Internet is ok and cable movie channels available without charge. Nice breakfast reasonably priced and make sure you try the coffee specially made and gets your morning of to a great start.

« Great Place to stay »

A one night stay proved to be all we could wish for lovely hosts spotless rooms very comfy bed super shower and amenities well stocked bar fridge and kitchen. Close to shops a pleasant stroll. Even though our room was at the front traffic did not worry us at all. Our delicious breakfast was served on time and reasonably priced. Would definately stay again and recommend a visit to meet Travis the hosts beautiful boxer he is so cute.

    « Good motel »

We stayed for one night, arrived quite late and left early next day. The room was comfortable and with a parking place directly in front of your door. The price was very reasonable. Overall, exactly what you would expect from a Best Western Motel. The lady at the reception was very nice and immediately made us feel welcome.

« Not to be missed »

We stayed for three nights. The rooms are very comfortable and although it is right on the main road the traffic noise is not excessive. Great bed, spacious room and bathroom. Owners, Steve and Karen are very friendly and thoughtful, with little things such as a squeegee for each car park spot to clean your windscreen before heading off for the day. Free WiFi is handy. We will not hesitate to stay here again.

    « Return visit. »

Three years on, we made a return visit to Best Western Colonial Motor Inn. Deb & Ian were very welcoming. The room was very comfortable & clean. Wi Fi excellent. As we were catering for ourselves that evening, I was very pleased to find extra crockery & cutlery provided, & also a covered bowl for microwave cooking. Added touch of minties & chocolate mints were welcome. They cook an excellent breakfast. Well done Deb & Ian.

    « Well presented »

This motel is very well presented and the owners are very welcoming. Whilst some of the fittings are dated the owners have done a great job in updating the rooms with new couches, bed covers etc. The rooms are well fitted with a sink, crockery, cutlery, coffee plunger and microwave.Lovely fluffy towels. Bed was comfortable and room quiet. We would stay here again

    « Clean and freindly »

My first time in Bairnesdale and found this motel trip adviser. Very clean and well appointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. No on site restaurant but there is plenty of places to eat near by, they do offer a great in room breakfast menu at realistic prices. Bed would be one of the most comfy ones I've slept in in a long while and I'm on the road a lot for business. Bathroom colour is a little dated but still kept very clean.

    « Wonderful hosts »

Deb and Ian the owners make this place! There is nothing to much trouble for them. Their motel is conveniently located on the highway which I expected to be noisy but surprisingly no it's quiet and cozy. There is a reason this hotel is number 2 in Bairnsdale I will be back

    « Good Break »

The hosts/owners were forthcoming with suggestions with places to eat, (there is a terrific Thai restaurant in town). The position right on the highway may put some off but the rooms were very quiet. As the owner said to me, "they sell sleep." That's a great way to look at running a motel. The rooms are what you expect in a basic Best Western with everything working and clean. There is complimentary tea and coffee with biscuits and even chilled water in the fridge which we both enjoyed. There is the 'world's smallest' swimming pool for a cool plunge, a basic but adequate BBQ area and a spa room at additional cost. The only real problem we encountered was when we reserved our room by phone. My wife and I had received a Best Western gift card. We decided to apply it to break our journey from Melbourne to Batemans Bay. After booking we never received an email confirmation as requested and another phone call a few days later reassured us they indeed did have our booking but again we received no email confirmation as promised. Despite this small hiccup we had a really good stay at the motel.

« An excellent place to stay with a family »

The owners are very friendly and helpful, the place is immaculate and the facilities are excellent. We stayed in the 2-bedroom family unit, which was very comfortable. Third year in a row and it continues to improve. Kitchen area is great, complete with minibar and supplies. Pool is great. Good value for money. Highly recommended.

« Well Located, Clean Hotel »

Great hotel with very hospitable operators. Rooms are getting a little tired and a couple of things need a little maintenance and decor could do with a bit of a tart up. Bathroom floor has fair fall on it and could be a challenge to anyone not wary. Other than that the hotel is clean quiet and comfortable. Price was a bit more expensive than I would expect for a hotel of this quality.

« Surprise, large spotless and well appointed. »

Stayed two nights. Rooms are much larger than expected, all the little extras that make a stay welcoming. Not a large establishment so owners give the personnel touch. On highway BUT no road noise. Great bed. Highly recommended.

« Spacious, clean and comfortable »

Location easy to find on the main street, single storey and car park outside room. Room was very spacious, big bathroom, everything we needed and appreciated little extras like a coffee plunger with ground coffee & proper coffee mugs (not little tiny cups). Staff very friendly and happy to accommodate additional bed at the last minute.

    « Overnight stay. »

Friendly host, clean room, comfy bed. The common areas were pristine. We didn't have breakfast there, but the menu was vast, and the prices were reasonable. It was exactly what you would expect from a best western. Nice accommodation at a reasonable rate.

    « Clean & Comfortable »

When you drive in you can see this was going to be a nice place to stay. Gardens & lawns are immaculate which make this motel very inviting. Debbie was there to meet us & check in was very easy. The room was quite spacious with a comfortable 2 seater couch, small table & chairs, lots of space around for luggage & nice comfortable bed. Big bathroom & nice hot shower. About a 10min walk to the RSL which was a nice meal. Overall good spot to spend a couple of nights & good value.

    « Great Stay »

Friendly, helpful hosts. Spotless unit, well stocked mini bar and oh so comfortable bed. First time here but wont be the last. Would recommend to anyone! Close proximity to RSL Club which has a good restaurant, only 10 minute walk.

    « Quiet And Comfotable »

This is an excellent motel to stay at, very pleasant friendly greeting by Debbie on arrival. Stayed two nights in the Bairnsdale Colonial Inn. Our room king size Number 8 was just great a very spacious generous room with a good size bathroom. Service was excellent, room very clean with fresh towels everyday and the service bar well equipped. The king size bed was so comfortable had a great two nights sleep while there. Overall stay was excellent. Only trouble is the council need to attend to trees on nature strip as they obscure the entranceway and this could be disastrous as vehicles trying to enter at last minute on a very busy road. Thank you Debbie and David for a lovely stay. Highly recommend. We will be very happy to stay at this Motel again.

    « good stay »

The bed was absolutely awesome very comfortable, I would be very happy to stay with this motel again, it really good stay and I would encourage friends and family to stay. the motel was very close to the local RSL which provide a great meal and atmosphere, also the motel was close to the business I was there to see, so it was good to get back after work sit down and watch FOXTEL and relax.

« Very well equipped motel »

Stayed for 2 nights in Bairnsdale at the Colonial Motor Inn. Friendly attentive welcome, room size was generous, with a queen bed and single. Impressed by the level of amenities. Microwave, mugs, cups, various tea bags, coffee and biscuits. Serviettes, wine glasses, plenty of blankets and pillows, plus all the standard items. Bit cold for the pool. Had a front room, little noisy from the traffic, but loved the afternoon winter sun coming in. Would have loved a chair outside in the sun. Bathroom has been renovated and is a cut above the usual 80's/ 90's motel style. Oh and breaky was great value.

    « 2 nighter »

Wonderful motel. Very clean with excellent service. Great breakfast and I loved how the room was replenished with clean towels, tea, coffees etc. The mini bar was great with plenty of variety. The hot water was really hot water. Will definitely stay there next time.

    « Clean & Cozy »

Could not find the motel from the road as it was blocked by some trees until really near the property. So be extra vigilant when looking out for it. Greeted by a very friendly staff named Debby who was helpful to check online for vegetarian menu of the nearby restaurants and offered to give out passcode for free WiFi. Cabin was small but clean and cozy with fully equipped kitchen. Cabin heater and water heater are sufficiently warm for the early winter. No heaters in room.
