Best Western Plus Augusta Civic Center Inn

We lost our home to a fire. We had pets and 3 people that needed to live somewhere. The manager. at the front desk took care of everything we needed and relieved us of a great deal of stress. All the staff was very accommodating and caring.

The staff is amazing! The only complaint I have is I signed up for the 3 night stay to get $100 gift card. I never received it. I had the staff at the desk check to make sure I was signed up and they said I was. So when will I get my gift card?

We have stayed there twice this past year. Clean, friendly , comfortable, and a breakfast. EVERYTHING top notch. Handy the I-95 , restaurants and shopping. We visited on your Thanksgiving in November 2023, unaware it was Black Friday week, Went out for supper and came back to the staff putting up a Christmas tree. We visited with them and exchanged some fun conversation, they made us feel so at home. See you in April!

Check in was greeted with a smile and how was your day. Had booked a King Room and hooked me up with a room easy in 1st Floor. The Room was clean and warm was 29 Degrees outdoors. Had my free waters and a couple snacks all ready for me. The Breakfast Hostess is fantastic. Does a great job, always has a smile and Thanks You “Stay Safe”. Look forward to talking with her next time. Great Value….Easy off 95 and restaurants close by. See you next trip.

It was just okay. The room was crowded, no comfortable seating which we always appreciate. Although the women worked hard in the breakfast area and kept things clean, the warm prepared food was blah and tasteless. The bed was comfortable, location at the civic center was convenient, but I wouldn't stay again.

Not worth the money, very out dated and in major need of total renovation. Friendly enough service but to spend $300 bucks on that dump is a joke. So, plan ahead and don't get stuck staying there because the better hotels were taken.

The Motel has done a total 360, the people are the best and the place is so handy to everything..There is new management now and this is the place to be when visiting Augusta.. Just the best.. So proud of them all..:)

Stayed here for one night heading back to Canada from Boston. Walking in, the place looks nice and the staff are excellent. Got to our room and it was terrible. Not sure what the Plus was but it definitely wasn't the room. Very old and outdated. Rust on the tap and towel rack. Clean (other than a long hair stuck between the clean towels) but old. The toilet was one you'd would find in a PUBLIC WASHROOM.

Parking is ample. The hotel is located across from a mall with restaurants, movie theatre, and stores like Wal Mart and Ulta. An IHOP is attached to the hotel. As the hotel name indicates, it is just outside the Civic Center. The greeting at the front desk was not very warm. We asked about places to get lobster because...Maine. I realize it isn't a sea coast town, but no one seemed to know of anything. We were given a sheet of recommendations though. Hotel is a few minutes drive from the Riverfront neighborhood. Great little area to browse and eat. A local advised us to look out for sturgeon jumping out of the water and we actually saw one! Don't miss Sand Hill Bagels for breakfast overlooking the river. They have an amazing variety of bagels with a friendly cool vibe. The room is on the small side. It does have a microwave and fridge which was helpful. Bathroom had a weird smell. There was no fan in that room. We only got about 3 channels consistently on the TV. At first we thought it was due to to the storm, but it was like that next day too. Not a huge deal, but if I was traveling with my kids they may have been upset. The bed and room were clean, but the mattress was very hard. If you want your room serviced, you must put out the card to indicate that otherwise no one will even remove your trash. Bring your own toiletries. The soaps and lotion are lemon scented and very small.

There may be some rooms in this hotel that are fine but the one we got was terrible. Staff very friendly but they cannot fix the problems, this hotel needs overhauling. The front reception area and breakfast area new/clean. Serve yourself breakfast style was good - nice to have it included with room. However, our room was so damp that the carpet was wet and the tiled floor was slippery! Turning on the AC only made it worse so we had to turn it off. Old style very noisy AC. Very small rooms which was hard because we couldn't leave anything on the floor for fear of it getting wet.. Was nice to have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. TV service was spotty (pixelated and struggled to get good pic - finally worked fine after getting a channel and leaving it there). Overall older hotel that needs updating especially the hvac system to address the moisture issue. Mattress needs to be replaced as well - older and springy.

This hotel which I have used for years past, has gradually deteriorated in costumer service, maintenance and breakfast food quality. The in room coffee was better than the food service coffee. It is not a good value versus cost.

Excellent staff, clean rooms, wonderful A/C unit, great breakfast for being complimentary, laundry room, pool (although not currently open), fitness center.. what more can you ask for, for such a low price point?

I stayed at the hotel for approximately 3 months on a work assignment. The hotel was very nice and clean and quiet. It has a very good location next to a mall with lots of shopping and places to eat to choose from. Everyone at the hotel was very nice. Everything worked good, Air conditioning, heat, Internet, etc. The breakfast was always very good with alot of variety. Will stay again if I get another work assignment.

This place has been my go to place to stay on the way down through Maine. The rooms are always clean and comfy. Now these aren't huge rooms, but for someone travelling to the area and needs a place to stay that's clean and such, this place is right on par. The staff here, I can't say enough about them. Always super friendly and I'm sure if you needed something or help with something, they would go out of their way to help you out. Breakfast is always plentiful, lots of options. Will stay again and again!

Have stayed here before while on a Buisness Trip. The Location of the Hotel is easy off and back on 95. The Hotel is clean and check is easy as also the checkout. The Breakfast Hostess makes your morning. Very friendly and Smiling. Will be back when in the area.

I have stayed at a few different BW, I found this location to be clean and quiet. Breakfast was plentiful, however some hot items were cold. The staff cleaning during breakfast was always cleaning, so that was great to see. Was great to use my reward points for a very economical overnight stay.

We checked in around 10:30 pm and were greeted by a pleasant young lady. Check in was super quick. We reserved a king bedroom. The room was clean and the temperature was comfortable. It was near the ice machine and I was worried about noise, but the hotel was very quiet for our entire stay. My only complaint about the room is that the bed is squeaky. I was worried it wouldn't be comfortable, but it was. We enjoyed our breakfast. They had blueberry stuffed pancakes, eggs, sausage, bagels, and waffles. The lady running the breakfast room was super pleasant and always working to clean tables and restock. It wasn't very busy, but she was still making sure everything was just right. Check out was was easy and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Arrived later on a rainy night. Room was very comfortable and clean. Visited the IHOP next door for supper. Quiet with friendly staff. Breakfast had good variety and healthy choice. Would stay here again.

This property is old and needs some cleaning up and renovating. The breakfast was not good. The IHOP next door was a ghost town so we didn't even try that. Sheets weer ripped and the room was in need of a serious deep cleaning and updating. We felt safe there and didn't have any problems in that area.

Stayed here for a night in early September. While the building looked a bit older, the lobby, common areas, and rooms appeared to have been more recently updated. The fitness room was poorly appointed - I'd probably just recommend that you go for a jog or walk. Overall, the place was a good value. The breakfast had ample options - it wasn't just loaded with carb-heavy foods. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Motel allows pets, which is fine, except when those dogs bark all night. Motel did nothing to alleviate the problem. When I advised that I might as well have slept in my car, I was given 15% off the bill, but most chains would have comped.the room.

We were super excited as we checked in to the Best Western Plus. The front lobby was immaculately clean and smelled great, and the clerk was super nice and helpful. The hallway to our room was clean and smelled just fine. I was surprised, stepping from that welcome into the depressing den that was our room, which smelled a little musty. There were stains on the carpet and splatters of something on the drop ceiling. All the light bulbs seemed to be 5,000 kelvin (so the super greenish-blue tint that makes you look dead). Everything was old / dated and had seen better days. It wasn't a welcoming or comfortable room. The climate control window unit was loud and intermittent. On the upswing, the sheets and towels seemed to be clean. The bathroom tub didn't drain well, so you were showering in a few inches of water. My family member told me that "you don't want to shower in there" and we decided to book the next night somewhere else. If they updated all the rooms to the standard established by the lobby and front desk, this would be a lovely place to stay.

This hotel is a very nice place to stay, close to shopping and restaurants. When we travel in this area we will definitely stay here. The only thing I can say on the negative side, a very small thing, is that there was only 1 power outlet at the head of the bed and if you have 2 CPAP machines you may need an extension cord. Like I said it's a minor thing, every else was perfect!

On the surface this hotel looks decent. The more I looked around it was obvious the hotel was dated and needing some attention. Our room was clean, no issues. Probably would choose elsewhere next time.

Too lengthy to list however, these accommodations for our 3 adult family(or 1 young adult off to 1st year college) plus 4 year old poochon were highly satisfying. Most staff were greatly friendly, helpful and professional.

Front desk staff was super nice and friendly. Greeted us and checked us in without issue. But when we got to our room we were immediately greeted by a nasty smoky/musty smell and dirty walls and floors. Other guests and cleaning staff were noisy right outside our door. Bed was squeaky and bathroom was gross. Killed a handful of ants and beetles during our stay.

The entire hotel smelled of marijuana, the pool was down for renovations but this was not advertised on the website during booking. The only great thing about the stay was the lady at the breakfast buffet, she went out of her way to ensure my family enjoyed their breakfast.

I didn't use any amenities, but the bed was comfortable and the staff was nice. It was easy to get to off the high way. Near a lot of restaurants and stores. I would recommend bringing your own soaps, because the stuff provided had a really bad smell. It wasn't the fault of the hotel, but I could hear everyone's conversations in the hall, so be mindful of that if you stay here.

Dark and dank smelling hallways that had not been vacuumed, dark outdated furnishings in rooms, this place needs an update as well as better cleaning. Pool was not open, and in fact covered! Decent gym and laundry, and conveniently located, and it seems popular. Not really sure why

All BW Plus hotels are not created equal. The staff are outstanding and accommodating however the rooms are somewhat dated and need a refresh. Our beds were very squeaky and not comfortable. Staff were very quick to respond to a room change and very apologetic. Breakfast offered lots of choice. It was hot and fresh.

This hotel is tired and in desperate need of updating. Thread bare towels. Sagging mattress with squeaky springs. Worn carpeting. I've stayed in Motel 6 that were far nicer. Your money will be better spent at another property.

I chose this Best Western Inn because it was halfway to my Maine destination, and the price was within my budget. WOW, was I pleased!!! The rooms are off a center hallway, and they do not smell like stale cigarette smoke!!!

Have stayed here twice, the service is very good.. but the place in general is drab, musky and the rooms are very outdated and in poor general condition.. stained toilet seat covers, yellowed paint, worn out furniture..etc.. breakfast and service are the only plus's in this place.. found a much better place and better rates elsewhere.. This Best Western plus is definitely disappointing at best.

Arrived after a day of travelling -- not impressed with people smoking out the front door. Staff was friendly but this hotel needs some serious attention. The housekeeping is "Way" below Best Western Standards. The shower curtain was so yellow and old, should of been thrown out. The hallways are dirty and I don't mean needing to be vacuumned. Lots of pets!! It seems this hotel is being used as a residence, evidence was visible to this assumption. At breakfast, one of the permanent guests found hair in the food. End of breakfast for us.

Clean. Good breakfast. Hardworking and professional staff. But it was a very small room and bathroom, cramped, with little counter space. Long walk from room to elevator then to lobby. Just adequate, not impressive. I stayed 3 nights on a busy weekend, but it was too expensive for such a hotel.

We stopped her for one night during our travels to our vacation destination. Josh the front desk staf was very courteous and helpful. The rom was clean and comfortable. WE also felt safe during our stay. We liked the fact they allow dogs because we usually our dog Gio travels with us. The breakfast was great also.

stayed one night and it smelled like wet dog. Get what you pay for the room was cheap but not worth even 100 bucks. my son walked out brand new sneakers and stepped in dog poop. people are living there it looks like. cats in the windows dogs everywhere. smells bad.

To have a good time and sone alone time with my boyfriend and het away from everything going on at home it was enjoyable time we had together tk have a fresh start and the hotel was amazing and very good o us

If you're looking for a decent rate and a clean, friendly environment I recommend the Best Western Plus in Augusta Maine. The price is more than wallet friendly, and the rooms are always clean. The staff and service is better than most places I've stayed including the Senator Inn as well as the Comfort In . My husband and I will not stay anywhere else for our trips or just a date night away!

I would highly recommend people stay here when you need a place to stay. The staff is very accommodating and professional. The Breakfast Room is very well stocked with a variety of items! My room was spotless! Well managed hotel in all areas! Definitely will stay here again when my travels bring me to Augusta, Maine!

From the front desk attendant to housekeeper to breakfast server everyone maintained eye contact and “smiled” with their eyes through the mask or plexiglass! Felt like family staying in someone's home instead of a hotel. You will love it!

We were traveling with our small dog and our experiences with hotels which allow pets have not been great. In this case we were pleasantly surprised by the price, cleanliness of the room, and friendliness of the staff. Overall, it was a great experience.

We stayed for one night, 2 adults. There was only 1 towel and washcloth provided. The hall noise was loud all night and wreaked of weed. The heat was stuck on 67° and we couldn't turn it down making the room very hot.

We stopped after 1am for a couple of hours of sleep. We were dead tired. We opened the door and were assaulted by heat and the reeking stench of urine (human/pet?), the tiles when audibly sticky, the beds made neatly, the mattress had visible sags. If you get assigned to Rm 136 ask for a different room.

This is a Horrible place, Smelled horrible.. even in the hall way Pot smell that the manager did nothing about. Someone was smoking pot in there room. Very old and run down Rude staff Would never stay there again

we stood in a pet friendly room, the staff was amazing from the kitchen to housekeeping, to the front desk, laundry, and guests. it was such a pleasant stay as we looked for our new home, wich we did find. we ended our stay by meeting the most incredible woman who worked there, and was her last day. she was retiring. her name was kathy. we talked and laughed and she treated us as family. we exchanged numbers and i know we are now friends and soon neighbors for life. we are so glad we stayed at the best western plus in augusta maine!

We stay here twice a year and look forward to the nice clean rooms. Kathy does a great job and we look forward to visiting with her. She is a great asset to the hotel and we are going to miss her when she retires.

Best western is my preferred hotel to stay at when I am traveling for business. They usually give me a large room with a king size bed and over a hot breakfast with I appreciate. The staff is always helpful

The hotel and staff were amazing and very attentive. For having a limited hot and cold breakfast it was very well stocked and the staff made sure to keep the buffet food flowing. Our room was very clean. I highly recommend this hotel. Right off the highway and a lot of stores and restaurants right there in the area

Disgusting smell in the entire hotel ( stale and fresh cigarettes, weed, and from the garbage sitting on the floor Outside of each room. Pot smoke coming through the bathroom vent and was told the hotel was non smoking by the front desk after having to go down bc the phone didn't work. Front desk said they would investigate but never came. Just awful

Mislabeled as a Plus. Room was very small, no room on bathroom counter for shave kit. Carpet was grimy, sticky. Hallway carpet dirty. Hotel appears to be fostering unhoused. Smell of pot in hallway and from people in parking lot. Definitely not a PLUS room.

It was our first of nine nights in Maine and it turned out to be our worst experience. Smoke in a smoke-free hotel. Key cards did not work. Area was dark. Security low. Insufficient towels. Long tear in wallpaper. One lamp did not work. People appear to be living there who are just short of homeless, which is sad, but not the situation that we were paying for. On the positive side, ladies working there were helpful and the bed was comfortable.

Husband and I went to Boston for doctors appointment. We stayed at 4 different hotels and found the service was good at all however we were up on and off all night at this Best Western because the beds were so uncomfortable. We both agreed that the savings in rates was not worth the lack of sleep. The mattresses could use an upgrade for sure.

NEVER stay at this hotel. It is filthy, and it smells. We asked for a different room as the first room was disgusting They accommodated us and gave us another filthy room. We went in search of anther hotel but due to holiday weekend none were available. We did not have any where else to stay. We checked daily for bugs. Thankfully and surprisingly they did not have bed bugs

We were very grateful to have been able to get into a pet friendly hotel! This hotel saved us and we were glad to been able to stay there but it had issues. The building was very humid and the ac struggled. Carpet had a musty smell to it. It is situated at a great location near lots of shops n restaurants. Great pricing, even weekly rates and mentioned a monthly rate too! Mold in the shower. And no breakfast.

Pool not open, full of Muck and cigarettes. The hotel and the room smell like dog piss. Was supposed to stay for 10 nights. One and we left. I would not every stay there again I never even got to talk to the manager they have no staff but was full crazy!

Dogs allowed-barked all night. Missing light bulbs, moist stinky carpet. Dirty walls. No remote. Pool permanently closed. A/C squeezed all night. Door to adjoining room next door wouldn't lock. The whole hotel smelled like pot.

This hotel is filthy dirty and should be condemned. The carpeting was stained and dirty, the pool was covered with moldy, brackish water filling the tarp, the room was dated with patches on the wall and stains on the walls, carpet, and bedspread. We would have left but for the fact we were tired and had pre-booked. Morning breakfast was a bag containing a frozen (literally frozen) Jimmie Dean sausage sandwich. We paid $215. Unbelievable.

I feel compelled to write a review here since it was the Trip Advisor reviews that convinced me to book this hotel. My 14-year old grandson and I were visiting family for 6 days in mid-July on the Belgrade Stream. We needed a place to sleep and clean-up each night, since the cabin was full. I talked to a woman at the hotel in Augusta and requested two queen size beds. She indicated that the first 2 nights of our stay she could only give us a king sized bed, but promised there would be room for a blow up mattress in the room. We've stayed at Best Western Plus hotels across the West and have been very pleased each time. Imagine our disappointment when we walked into the hotel to take our bags upstairs and were met with a filthy entry and hall near the elevator that smelled like a combination of cigarettes, weed, and urine. Additionally, the bathroom floor was dirty, the room was very small (no room for a blow up bed), no towels, and the desk was so dirty with "nose boogers." I was grateful to have cleaning supplies with me. This terrible room cost me +$200.00/night. We moved to a room with two beds on the 3rd night. Roomier, but again no towels and the bathroom floor was not clean. On the plus side, the location is very convenient and the king size bed was very comfortable. The beds in the second room had obviously not been upgraded. Just fair when it came to comfort. I was so disappointed. Just beware. I would have left that 1st day if I could have found something else.

Unfortunately, I was not pleased with this experience. I requested a nonsmoking room on a nonsmoking floor but my room was full of old, stale smoke smell that gave me a sore throat in the morning. Hand prints and footprints on the headboard and countless stains on furniture. Outdated AC and heating system was difficult to operate.

The lobby was nice but as soon as we entered the hallway there was the smell of cigarettes and when we went in our room it smelled gross. The bathroom floor was wet, it looked like the toilet had probably leaked. The room was haphazardly cleaned at best and was in rough shape maintenance wise. We immediately asked for a different room which was only marginally better. After strike two we cancelled and found somewhere else stay. We would have slept in our vehicle before staying here. For the record though the person working the front desk was super nice and did what she could to help.

Love the BW brand and spend 15-20 nights a year with them but this locations needs to be closed and re-modeled. No locking doors to the whole hotel. Homeless hanging out around parking lot and rear of hotel. Smell hits you as soon as you enter the lobby and follows you to your room. Wet dog ,cooking all kinds of off putting smells. Hate to have to post this but not fair to travelers trying to get a nights rest. Overall housekeeping is very poor. Dirty bathrooms, hallways and common areas. Not even a good last resort.

The smoky hallways, closed pool (which was advertised as open), and the disappointing sack meal they tried to pawn off as a continental breakfast was enough to punish me for not staying at the Hilton. Never again Best Western.

It was a nice enough stay. I had higher expectations. It being a best western. Way overpriced. I assume because it was the weekend and vacation season. The AC didn't work well at all The room was pretty dirty Slime on the mirrors a layer of something greasy on the desk. Pubes on the shower curtain moldy shower tiles dust on the lamps Something in the desk drawer large food crumbs? The location was good and the staff was friendly

Filthy. Dirty. Ancient. Reeked of cigarette smoke. All we needed was a clean and comfortable room for 6 hours of sleep on our way to drop our daughter at camp. That's it — clean and comfortable. We arrived at 11:30pm. The smoke-free hall absolutely reeked of fresh and stale cigarette smoke. An unflushed toilet greeted my daughter and me when we entered our room. The bathtub stopper was down and the tub still partially filled, the bath mat in place. One towel (in a room with two queen beds), “hermetically sealed” in a scotch-taped plastic bag. My husband and son climbed under a cigarette- burned coverlette and sheets. When my husband called me at 11:45pm to see if we should move to another hotel for the remaining 5 hours of the night… I seriously considered it. I am not even going to bother describing the decor because I refused to turn on the lights and we left before dawn.

I have been at this hotel for several months on a business trip. The hotel had some rough patches but the staff have been working sleeplessly to make it a better cleaner place for us to stay. They easily accommodated me for my service animal and were willing to give me whatever I needed. As my stay continued Kathy, the one in charge of the cleaners, continued to adapt and work as best as she could to keep up with everyone's needs. She worked hard, and lead strongly. When I first arrived the hotel was understaffed dramatically. I do not think I can stress that enough. Throughout my stay, the staff aided me repeatedly when noisy guests showed up, or loud music played, so I also want to give thanks to Jerod and Mary for assisting me when I needed help to switch rooms because of triggers for my PTSD. The hotel has since cleaned up dramatically, and I am very thankful for the work they have done to make my stay worthwhile. Thank you best western. Thank you Kathy. Thank you Mary. Thank you Jerod. And finally thank you Jeff for maintaining an awesome group of staff that works hard at keeping the guests as happy as possible.

This hotel is really disgusting. The first room I was given smelled strongly of urine and there was a brown substance in the bathtub.The second room was also smelly and the carpet was stained. The walls were stained. The whole hotel is just really bad. The hallways had garbage piled up by the trash cans. Also, there is no security at all. There are several doors to the outside and anyone can just walk in with no key or anything at all. I seriously considered sleeping in my car instead of in my room.

Don't do it - just don't. Find another place. If we hadn't arrived late we would have gone someplace else - but we were tired. We had 2 rooms - one was fine - the other not so much. It had a questionable white body fluid dripping down the brown bed skirt. Game over - time for another room. After giving us a room key that did not work - the clerk showed us two available rooms - the one we took which was the lesser of two evils. The one we refused had an overwhelming stench of dirty wet dog when you opened the door - we did not go in and look around. What do those beds smell like and what is the chance the linens are clean if it smelled so bad just opening the doors ? I asked the clerk if she smelled it and she said she did. The idea that management thinks that room is suitable to rent out is disturbing. The clean room we took has mold and peeling paint on the ceiling - dirty tiles in the bathroom, dirty mini-frig. Who is doing the cleaning ?? Covid disinfecting is certainly not happening in these rooms. The place looks like where they house transients- the other guests treat it like that - tons of garbage bags in the halls - near the ice machine. There were bed sheets hung over doors - what's going on in there that they're sealing the cracks ? And why is it being allowed ? Marijuana and drinking at the exit doors doesn't make you feel safe entering it exiting. At one point the stair well was closed as someone got sick in the stairs. Lovely. The pool was closed - it's seasonal and hot mid-June days are just not pool weather. Not that it was in any condition.. Desk staff was pleasant - but this place needs major help and until then - just stay away.

We checked in and found that the toilet had not been cleaned. When I brought this up to the front desk, I was told that I could clean it, but employees could not because of “COVID Regulations”. I'm pregnant. How is it okay for COVID regulations to let a pregnant guest clean the toilet of another guest? It wasn't until I said no to cleaning the room I was paying for that another room was offered. The halls smelled of cigarette smoke and weed, even though all rooms have a no smoking sign on them. When we were trading in the old room key during check in, there was a guest lighting a cigarette in the hallway and walking into another room. During our second night's stay, there was a parking lot party where people were grilling outside of one of the side entries, keeping the door open to the stairwell, and they were hotboxing an SUV with marijuana that had so much smoke billowing out of the trunk into the hallway that I thought there was a car fire. There were clear semen stains on the chairs and there were red stains on the carpet. I am extremely dissatisfied with our stay. If the other hotels in the area had not been fully booked, we would have left. We booked this hotel because of its proximity to the civic center but still drove because of uncomfortable parking lot guests.

By far the worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune of staying in. Dirty, run down, and OMG, the smell! I'm not sure if someone died in this room, or maybe there was a cigarette smokers convention staying here. The contact high you get walking through the hallways is a great reason for not allowing recreational weed. The bed was worn out and sagged in the middle so bad, there is no way to get a decent nights sleep. The staff was actually very nice, but apparently had no other rooms or options for us. Our group had a total of 4 rooms booked, and the stories from their rooms were similar or worse.

Worst hotel I've been in. 1) Dirty sheets 2) Room smelled like cigarettes 3)Absolutely no security in the building, the fire doors were missing the locking mechanisms, people can enter and leave building with no key 4) Wide open WiFi Internet - a hackers dream come true 5) Trash bags in the hallways smelling really bad. AND when checking out a smug, sorry we didn't live up to your standards..

This place needs serious updating. Hallways smell of cat urine and smoke. Beds are old and uncomfortable. Dryers were broken for mos straight. Noise above us was horrible. They upped the price over $100 more a wk for summer pricing yet won't open the pool, breakfast is a joke, staff doesn't show appreciation to guests at all.

Affordable and clean, the Best Western Civic Center was right where we needed to be. The attached restaurant was convenient. Beds and pillows were very comfortable! Staff were very friendly. We did not have any issues.

Great front desk service. The room was a bit dusty and old, but what can you expect for the price. I'm still waiting for the $25 off voucher in my email so hopefully after I complete this review, someone can get back to me to let me know when I'm expecting it. It was advertised on their website. Not sure what happened.

My wife and I have 3 dogs and found ourselves in need of temporary housing due to a gas leak at our house. Best Western not only allows pets they waived the majority of the pet fee. They were very accommodating and super friendly! Both front desk and housekeeping staff were outstanding. Kathy in housekeeping is hilarious and goes out of her way to help! Kudos to the staff!

The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean! The tub is spacious enough for a nice soak after driving all day. And they're pet friendly, with only a $20 fee (I only stayed one night, the whole rule is $20 per day with a max of $100 per week, but compared to the $50/day fees I've seen in other hotels, this is still a great value.)

I was expecting it to be nicer. The bathrooms kinda gross. I wanted to take a bath but the tub was nasty and the shower head looked as tho it hadn't gotten cleaned before. So I didn't give my son a bath nor did I take one. Bummer. Next time we will go somewhere else to relax I guess.

Me & my fiancé stayed long term at this hotel & would do it all over again! Close enough to walk to essential stores & very quiet. The housekeeping staff goes above & beyond ! Nice clean room& friendly service. Kathy (head of housekeeping) was one of the highlights of the hotel- she was just super friendly, absolutely hilarious & even gave us a Christmas card during our stay! Jared, Mary & Katie at the front desk were great & helped with anything we needed. I certainly will be staying here again the night time I pass through (:

An inviting and comfortable, place with easy acess to dining, shopping, and our family downstate. We would highly recommend this as a go to place to stay. A price to fit in just about any budget for travel.

I spent three nights at the Best Western Plus August Civic Center Inn during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Every precaution was taken to ensure my safety. The room was very clean as well as the facility. The staff was friendly and supportive. The check-in and check-out procedure was quick and efficient. I enjoyed the amenities and design. The staff is always happy to greet me on a return visit.

We've stayed at BW Plus Augusta Civic Center Inn for several years on our way to and from the southern USA. The staff is friendly, efficient and hard-working. It's an easy on/off from the highway in either direction. Breakfast ( included) is always good. We look forward to staying here each year.

The welcoming staff at the front desk made checkin a breeze. My room was very clean and comfortable. A very pleasant stay. Being the first time in Augusta, Me, all the staff members were helpful in answering questions about the area. A definite thumbs up facility and staff!

We walked in with no reservation. Check in was fast and easy. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Everything you need within a couple miles of hotel. Would definitely recommend staying there.

Room was great as was the service. Reasonable rate and good value for the money. There is a attached I-Hop for meal options and it is walking distance to the convention center. The hotel is modern and up to date with WiFi.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were doing everything they could during this pandemic to keep everyone safe. I would recommend this hotel. It is easy access off the highway. There is no hot breakfast buffet due to covid but every day you could pick up a continental breakfast bag at the front desk. It was fresh, healthy and perfect

The hotel itself is just average but the staff there made my stay great. Kathy the house keeping manager was great. If there was anything thing needed to be done she made sure it was. Weight room was close so i couldn't get in to weight myself. so she went as far as bringing one in for me. Service defiantly was five star. Thank you again Kathy

BWP is still a pretty good hotel. I stayed July 15-July 20 on a "staycation" during the coronavirus pandemic. I still enjoy the comfort of the rooms and friendliness of the staff. However, I'm sorry to say that the amenities were lacking. No fitness room, no outdoor pool, no self serve breakfast. I know it's because of government mandates during the pandemic, but when I stayed in Bangor two weeks earlier, the outdoor pool was open, their fitness room was open, and there was a self serve breakfast. I didn't know that these amenities were closed here, or I would not have booked. Hallways were under renovation during my last stay in April 2018, and the place looks great now with them done. Room was comfortable and bed was huge! However, the key card swiper doorknobs need to be replaced. I had to swipe several times to get it to unlock. Deadbolt was very hard to twist and I had to force the door shut in order to lock it. Bathtub did not stay full very long, even with the drain closed, so I had to keep adding more water to it. TV signal was digital, and I could not use half the channels because of the lack of a signal. Other than these minor complaints, I enjoyed my third stay here, and used my points to book a free night to stay longer. I definitely will come back once this coronavirus situation is a bit less hectic, so that I can fully enjoy my stay. Management, please replace the doorknobs and fix the TV signals.

The only reason I gave this a 2 was because they front desk and maid service was wonderful. When we walked in the room smelled musty. The tub was small maybe a foot off the ground. And the bed was so hard me or my husband couldn't sleep more then an hour without our backs hurting.

The staff from the general manager Jarred to his room cleaners are always cheerful and a delight to speak to. Rooms are always clean and have plenty of space, including a desk for your business travel work! Never had an issue with internet or connection. Located by a large variety of restaurants and stores makes it very convenient for travelers. If you get the pleasure of having Katie or Terry check you in, you'll feel very welcome and feel at home. Lobby has couches and a nice tv to sit and relax as well. As a frequent traveler this place is a tier above others for value, quality and comfort.

Overall my stay was good. However, there was constant delays getting into my room. They need to fix the card key door system. This would be an ideal solutions. I may use them when I come to Augusta in Maine for my stay.

This is one of the better Best Westerns. The location is excellent if one is attending the Augusta Civic Center, which is within walking distance. This hotel is only a few blocks from a major shopping mall area, which has a wide assortment of restaurants and dozens of major shopping chains. The room was very comfortable.

We were there in October 2019. The room was nice and clean. Reasonable price. If in the area we would stay there again. Nice having an IHOP close by. Could just walk over there and eat. Quiet place to stay.

Had a very comfortable room. Everything was neat and clean! The desk clerk was very pleasant and very personable. He is definitely an asset to your hotel. The complimentary breakfast had lots of choices. We had a King, non-smoking room. We will definitely stay at this hotel again!

I travel to Augusta ME for quarterly meetings in connection with a foundation board. The Inn is reliably comfortable in its hospitality. The staff are friendly and helpful as needed while the lodgings are perfect for a business traveler.

I stay here a lot for business. The hotel is a bit dated. This isn't an issue for me because they check the boxes in all the right places. It's clean. Bed is comfortable. It's convenient to restaurants and shopping, The staff is friendly and efficient It's quiet, the rates are good. The breakfast is good and the area they serve it in in great. Big, bright and airy. It has everything I look for when I travel. As long as your not looking for 4 star ultra modern I think you will like this property.

Staff were extremely friendly. Location excellent for proceeding in either northbound or southbound directions, which nearby gas station was happy to provide. Room was very well appointed, and hearty Maine breakfast was provided which was included with price of room.

Staff at check in were very nice to deal with. Typical Best Western. Always good. Restaurants close by and one attached to hotel. Large shopping center across the road. Hotel right off the highway. Small store to purchase beverages (including wine and beer) and smacks which was handy and used.

Excellent value for the money. Clean, good food and excellent location next to the event venue. The hotel staff were excellent and the IHOP restaurant attached to the hotel provided excellent food for a reasonable amount.

Staff was very nice and friendly. The rooms was clean and the bathroom was big with hot shower. The breakfast was very good and hot and the coffee was good. It was close by to stores and places to eat.

We arrived the week of Christmas and stayed until after Christmas Day. We brought my daughter and her family with us. We were placed across from each other which made it super nice. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. The heater worked great. The staff are super friendly and helpful. There is a washer/dryer available for use for a $1 a load which we used. The kids enjoyed the continental breakfast I would definitely go there again.

We were very pleased with our room. It was very quiet and we were comfortable.Plenty of hot water and pressure in the shower and for a tub. The front desk staff were presentable, proffessional, and helpful with all our questions. The location is convenient to many restaurants and stores.

I picked this hotel for location with hopes that the hotel was clean. The bathroom was the worst I've seen, I don't think the floor has seen a mop in months. The shower did not work, the front desk agent offered me a room next door to shower in. The carpets were dirty, the heating/cooling system didn't work properly and the window was drafty. The back door to the hotel does not lock and was easy for anyone to access entry. Breakfast choices are limited and was the same option every morning. The front staff and location are great!!

Great location just off hwy, very easy to find. Close to shopping and restaurants. Cleanliness, hotel appearance/upkeep,showers, breakfast, noise- all just ‘ok', really expected more based on other reviews. Room seemed to been just quickly cleaned. Overall not a terrible spot but have stayed in better hotels in Augusta area for similar price.

Stayed at Best Western Plus Augusta, Maine in late October on our way home to Nova Scotia, we were greeted promptly and professionally by Rachel, also had fresh chocolate cookies there if you needed a quick snack. The rooms were clean and quiet. The hotel is centrally located near many restaurants and shopping outlets.

I was very disappointed with the lack of cleanliness and attention to detail in my room. The fridge had a melting ice cream bar inside, the microwave was dirty, the coffee pot had so much calcium deposits and other material in it that I dared not use it, there was a hair in the bathroom sink, the blackout curtains were so gross, top of the curtain had so much dust on it and there was a funky odor in the entire room. When I checked in I was told to drive around to the side of the building and enter door 3....there is no door 3, there was an unmarked door down a little dark walkway that I eventually did find. I did speak to the front desk about the room issues and they did apologize. I am a lead house keeper at another property so I am rather picky and know what to look for.

From the time we arrive until the time we departed from the Best Western Plus we felt like we were the only guest at this hotel. The staff was so friendly and I would like to Thank Kathy especially for her kindness even though she was busy she made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She made us feel like we were special. The breakfast was amazing we did not expect to have such a wonderful breakfast . The Staff are all amazing and we will be back again.

While staying at your hotel, I found the staff to be very friendly and courteous. I was always greeted with a smile, and offered assistance. The Halloween decorations added a fun and festive feeling, and the bowl of sweet treats for your guests was a nice touch. My room was clean and tidy, and my complimentary breakfast provided a nice variety of choices. The location was very convenient as well.

The staff at front desk was awesome for helping with directions, hours of stores, places to take kids to eat, even to order room service I love the fact you can check in at 2pm as we were there for sports.

Stayed overnight on out return trip back home. I used points for a free nights stay. Check inn was quick and staff at desk was excellent. Was not really impressed with cleanliness of room . Everything you touched felt sticky like when you stay in a smoking room but it wasnt. Carpet stained . Overall the room was ok . Breakfast next morning was i hate to say was terrible. Eggs, sausages were soggy microwaved ?. Overall it did not what i expected from a Best western Plus.As i stayed in various other Best westerns over the years. Did not say anything at checkout as i usually find that it falls on deaf ears. But will probably try it again if the occasion arises on our next trip through the area.

Our experience was so delightfully different then last week's stay at another Best Western hotel! Our room was clean, supplied and comfortable. Kathy, the Manager was friendly and thoughtful to our needs. She even changed the Continental Breakfast starting hours from 7:00am to 6:00am. This allowed most of the guests time to casually eat and then work at the Convention Center show. Thank You Kathy and her Team!

A little hard to find but well worth checking it out Near the civic center and there is an ihop near and off the road a bit but there is the highway in the back. Animals are welcomed for a small fee..

I had reserved 4 rooms for my family and all were very clean. We had all the conveniences that we expected, a nice refrigerator, microwave and a huge TV and lots of built in charging stations to use. Also had room darkening curtains with pull rods that are very easy to use. It appears that they have made some good improvements recently but the fact that they only have one elevator for a two story hotel makes it hard to get all your belongings to and from your rooms. I believe that a hotel should have an elevator near the main entrance and not just the one all the way at the far end of the building. The free breakfast was ok but powdered scrambled eggs were not so good. There is a restaurant business connected to the hotel and that was great! The hotel is centrally located by several shopping and mall centers and the Civic Center. The one other thing that one of my sisters said was that the cleaning staff need to be quieter in the early mornings outside of everyone's rooms, they had loud conversations and yelling down the hall to each other on the first floor. All in All... good place and very friendly staff that were very helpful to all of us! We will be using it again when we visit relatives, there were 7 of us that stayed there.

Great place to stay near Augusta Civic Center! I was working in Augusta and Portland and needed a convenient hotel. This was perfect! A quick drive to Portland and back to a quiet, modern hotel with all the amenities. Great bedding, no street noise or noise from other guests even though the hotel was full. Many options for dining and shopping right across the street from the Civic Center made it great for me as I needed to work each night, which is where the fast wifi was indispensable. Breakfast made my day! Great coffee, with piping hot scrambled eggs, sausage, along with blueberry muffin and a yogurt to go. The attendant, Brenda, gave everyone a smile to start their day and whatever they needed. I'll stay again.

This hotel stinks, is run down, has one elevator at the far end of a hallway, has a terrible breakfast, and is an overall total disappointment. We were told on Hotel.com that the room rate was one thing and then when we got there were told it was at least $20 more. It was totally not worth the price we paid for it. We slept very fitfully. Between the noises coming from the other rooms and hallway, and the hard bed, it was a very miserable night. The clientele they had staying there on our same floor did not help with the feeling of unrest. We saw what looked like pimps and drug dealers coming and going. It was very unnerving to say the least. If my husband and I had not been so exhausted from traveling, we would probably have demanded our money back and left upon seeing the room and the condition of the upstairs hallway. One thing for sure, we will never stay at that hotel ever again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Just wanted to give a quick shout-out in particular to Brenda who worked like a dog getting breakfast set up for everyone. She was cheery, professional and efficient. Hope she gets the recognition she deserves!

Couldnt tell you how many times we have stayed 4 now. Great Veterans discount. Every room has a microwave and fridge. The pool needs a railing down the stairs. All the restaurants you could want are within a Mile or so and IHOP is attached

We stayed here on a business trip in the area and were very pleased with the location and service we received. We want to particularly acknowledge our breakfast hostess Brenda who was amazing. She handled everything with great energy and demeanor. We were thrilled that she had things up and running early and then single-handedly took care of a whole "bus crowd" of international visitors and also was able to pleasantly tell us about the area, etc. Great staff always make a visit special when on the road.

The room was clean and comfortable I traveled in July. A.c. was already on and set. The staff is kind and friendly and very helpful. I would stay here again in the future. I only wished that the pool was indoors.

Where do they get all these friendly people? Everyone we talked to was helpful and kind. And that great attitude transferred to all the guests for a very pleasant stopover. The kids exclaimed that they had “hotel breakfast heaven!” with so many favorites to choose from and were very happy with the wi-fi. Mom was happy that room was spotless! The fact that it is in walking distance of the Civic Center is a great plus. Clean, well appointed rooms and a great breakfast variety made this business trip a pleasant experience. Plenty of excellent nearby restaurants to choose from and close to the Turnpike and other major roads.

Convenient location-Close to I-95 and right across the street-stores, movie theatre and Restaurants. Professional yet friendly staff. Kathy Paradis is wonderful. Room was clean and comfortable. Decent variety for free continental breakfast. We would stay there again!

We came as a family of seven. The rooms were very clean and breakfast was more than we expected. Would stay again when in the area or would look for a Best Western Plus when traveling in the future. It was nice to have an outside pool as well.

When I got my breakfast, I met a worker named Brenda. Her smile and inviting personality was incredibly contagious. Her happy attitude rubbed off on me and now I feel invigorated. Thank you for the positive atmosphere! It certainly helped start my day :)

The room was very clean except for a faint smell of dampness. The breakfast was incredible. It offered EVERYTHING. and if you did need something, a wonderful lady by the name of Brenda helped me. She was a darling and a sweetheart. The hotel is joined to a Ihop but who needs Ihop when you have everything there and Brenda to help you out. I would definitely stay again.

From the Manager (Jerod Budge) to the housekeepers, every single person we came in contact with at this clean and well maintained hotel made my family and I feel welcome. We were made to feel as though we were the most important guests and our satisfaction was essential. We will be staying here often when in the area, in fact we will go out of our way to stay in this fine hotel again. The room was perfect for us and the breakfast was fresh and well stocked. I couldn't be more pleased.

Spent a night on 5/31 while road tripping through Maine. Staff were very friendly at the desk, the room was clean and quiet, and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was well-stocked, clean, and tasty. Everything was in good working order in the room. I enjoy the consistency of Best Western properties and the Augusta Civic Center Inn is no exception. Highly recommended.

Best Place the Stay when you are attending Civic Center functions, right there in the parking lot. The Staff is amazing..Pet Friendly, Shopping right across the Street, they have a restaurant attached so you can walk to dinner.

very nice room- for 2 people- beds comfy and clean pillows were bigger than I was used to- I could open window to get fresh air that was very nice - on second floor -hotel has elevator- close to Civic Center and shopping-very nice and helpful staff

Dirty socks on the floor, carpet not vacuumed in 6 days, mold on the ceiling, filthy windows and curtains, no security whatsoever. Saw the breakfast attendant touch the scrambled eggs with her bare hands when refilling the tray. The halls are dark, the rooms needed updating long ago. Room looked out on the saddest pool. It hadn't been prepared for summer yet, but left uncovered all winter. It will need more than refilling before any can use it. Room keys stopped working on check out day, way before checkout time. Skip this place.

Kathy was very nice and quick to get us anything we needed. The room was very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was so good. The breakfast was above and beyond any hotel continental breakfast we have ever had.

We are staying here to visit friends. We have stayed here in the past. Since our last visit afew years ago the same breakfast room attendant, Brenda, is still here. She is the friendliest, most bubbly person, who seemingly does everything she can to make you feel welcome. The actual breakfast is good with hot choices besides the waffles. The hotel staff is friendly. Our bed is very comfortable and we slept well.

Close to shopping centers stores plus of the highway and near the hospital . Friendly staff excellence cleaning staff when I called to order a room they went out of there way to find me a great rate and friendly. When we arrive she greeted us with a smile and booked us right in and gave us options of rooms

Stayed here for the entire month of February. Everybody that worked here knew me by name and was very hospitable. Especially Kathy! Very clean and comfortable rooms with a great breakfast. I stay in hotels 95% of the year and this was a great hotel.

Staff was very friendly, rooms were very clean, bed was comfortable with awesome pillows. Loved the cookies in the lobby at check in. In the morning breakfast options were great. Loved the free newspapers that were available for the guests. Location of the hotel was great.

This hotel is near the Augusta Civic Center and shopping. We stay in BW a lot and found this to be up to standards. The staff were helpful and accomodating. The breakfast was good and the area was well stocked and clean. The room was clean. Heater loud to the extent that we would have asked for a room change if we were there more than one night. We did tell the clerk on check out. There were renovations going on so there was a paint smell in the halls. They had a gift free wrapping station for their guests that were there to shop for the holidays-I'd never seen that before

My daughter and I stayed here on the way to a college tour. We arrived late and the front desk clerk was pleasant and checked us in quickly. Our room was clean and comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was included and there were a variety of options and the coffee was good :) Easy on and off the highway. If my daughter chooses UMO, I will stay here again :)

Great " personable people " working from the front desk throughout to the cleaning staff and the whole entire operation. All staff are very up-beat, friendly, very Informative, professional and eager to accommodate guests and in my opinion, make the operation what it is. Very Impressed with staff at this location and the location is great for doing business. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and quiet. Had a great nights rest and was very refreshed to do business the next day. Keep up the great work and we with no question whatsoever, we will be back to Augusta and will stay at this location. My family and I had a very welcoming stay and I got to say Brenda and the New girl Britney are awesome! Britney even gave some real good information about the schooling system in augusta! I'm very happy to say I'll be back!

Hotel is right off the exit so it is very accessible. Speed of check in and check was great and the staff were very friendly! Dated atmosphere in some areas but appeared clean and tidy. Great location next to the Civic Center and lots of places to shop and eat within 1 mile driving distance.

I was in Maine for a baby shower and a 40 th birthday party. I needed special care as I have multiple allergies, and they prepared my room for and assisted with my using my own sheets and pillow cases. They even have me new pillows. The whole staff were so personable, that I felt at home. The room was perfect and the complimentary breakfast was amazingly done well. I will be back when the baby is born. Great people made my stay a home away from home. Thanks to all who helped me.

The Best Western in Augusta is a great place to stay! The staff is super friendly and the hotel was very clean and cozy. Kathy and her stay really do great job keeping the hotel up to par and clean. Breakfast was delicious and Brenda was so sweet!

Stayed here with my family for about two weeks and it felt like home, thanks good free breakfast daily, clean rooms and great staff, specifically Missy and Brenda they were very kind and helpful. Free easy access to wifi and very close to stores and restaurants. I recommend and I will definitely return.

This is an older hotel, that has been kept up nicely, and has current computer technology. The Staff are always very helpful, friendly and pleasant. Kathy, the manager has been here about 15 years keeping the hotel nice, and Brenda, the Breakfast Diva works very hard to make a guest feel at home. I stay here often, as it is very convenient to my father's assisted living facility, 10 minutes away. Ihop is part of the building, and there are many chain restaurants across the street - Panera, Longhorn, Ruby Tuesday, Red Robin, etc. ......

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights. Rooms were clean and Staff were very friendly and helpful. They were renovating the rooms when we were there so it looks like it is being updated. We also enjoyed the breakfast - great selection. Will definitely stay here again.

Find this hotel very friendly staff and good breakfast and clean rooms. We always try to stay here when we go to the US in the fall and in the Spring going and coming from Florida. Check in is always easy and check out seamless.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. I could hear the TV in the next room, but that goes with staying in a hotel. For the price, this was a good family place to stay.

Had a great stay here. Room was quiet and comfy. Staff was awesome, Forgot a few items and Sondra was totally helpful. Breakfast was hot and ready. Brenda the breakfast supervisor was on the job cleaning and quickly replenishing the breakfast food.

The staff was an absolute pleasure to work with! The continental breakfast was great. Coffee was delightful and the Lemon Ice Water was greatly appreciated! I will definitely be returning next year for my state meetings.

My wife and I stay at the Augusta Civic Center Inn every year while we attend the Maine Quilts Shows during the month of July. We enjoy the convenience to the Civic Center, the desk staff that go out of their way to make arrangements for us and the housekeeping staff that provides the extra care so that our room is available and comfortable. A wonderful place to stay when in Augusta.

Thought I would take advantage of Best Western deals and was I disappointed. The beds are uncomfortable and the rooms had a ordor. The rooms are not sound proof at all. Housekeeping were still cleaning rooms at 9:00 pm and making a lot of noise. Than there was a group of different nationalities speaking their own language in the hallway and were very loud and had no respect for other guest. I would not recommend this hotel if you are needing a comfortable and relaxing stay.They were wondering the halls at all hours of the night.

clean, comfortable room with super desk folks!! Breakfast was good too, although the nice lady who kept it stocked and clean was so "out there" that I almost tripped over her several times as she would dart in where you were headed. We anted to eat at the restaurant that is attached but their sign said "wait to be seated" but they didn't seem to have a hostess. A few servers and Kitchen people looked our way but didn't wave us in so we left and ate elsewhere.

If you are a VA Hospital patient let the hotel know for a discount. They don't tell you. Hotel is a good location for travel to VA hospital in Togas. My only other issue is the musty smell in the room hallways. Perhaps carpet should be replaced with lino or another solid surface

This Best Western is strategically located just outside Augusta Me and very close to I 95 and a mjor shopping, and restaurant complex.The hotel offers good value and very clean premises with a good breakfast included in room price.Highly recommended

We came from Florida and Maryland to Maine for a wedding. The hotel was very clean, the food was great, but the best part was the staff. From the time we checked in until the time we checked out, the staff was welcoming, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Particularly, Missy at the desk ad Brenda in the restaurant made us feel like we were staying with family. They gave us information about the area and really, really made us feel welcome. This is a hotel we will DEFINITELY visit again!

While positioned near an active Interstate highway, the rooms are very quiet. The staff is excellent, rooms are clean, and I enjoyed my stay. The breakfast was good, with a nice variety of food from which to choose.

Thank you for being pet friendly and having a breakfast you can grab and go when you need to head out early - My only regret is I wish you had an in-door heated pool. The out door pool was cold - a hot tub outside would work too for those of us who do not like cold water

Had a great family wedding nearby and many of the guests stayed at the Inn. As Father of the Bride it was a great time, with very friendly staff and a very good breakfast. Rooms were clean and comfortable!

Not a bad value. Did not see why this motel was Best Western Plus. Breakfast foods were not kept warm. Carpets we're stained and it needs updating. Location is convenient. I just expected more as this was my first stay in a Best Western Plus.

This Best Western Plus Hotel enabled us to get a good night's sleep. The breakfast was also relatively good and nourishing, with scrambled egg and bacon as well as muffins and fruit. The room was clean and the hotel's staff personable and helpful.

Had a king size bed, very clean and well equipped room..flat screen tv, microwave and refrigerator....Clean bathroom and morning breakfast included! Warm and cold items are included....pool and gym too.

May not sound like a big thing but a hotel this size with only ONE ice machine and then it is broken shows just how much they care about their guests. We stayed multiple days and not having ice.... Sucks! Then when we complained they said nothing, NOTHING. Upon check out I told the girls at the desk how this was so rude, THEN she tells me we could have gone next door to Ihop. Really? As we are leaving? Why didn't they tell us that first night when we complained. Still can't get over a hotel this size has only one ice machine. Oh and the soda machine, NO Pepsi, OUT!

This hotel is a great value. The GIRI hotel club is the BEST deal in business travel, great rate, clean hotels, and a great incentive (on top of hotel points incentives). Stayed here 10/3 and the staff was great. Breakfast was very good, waffles, eggs, etc. The housekeeping staff was wonderful, I forgot my phone charger and they came up with one to help me out. I stay here frequently for business and it is a great value and location for me. Staff is always nice and helpful. But the breakfast coffee has been downgraded to a condensed, hot-water mixed machine. Why? The former coffee was good (not great), but this coffee is barely one step above instant coffee. Other breakfast items are absolutely fine.

For a one night stay on the way home from, or on the way too, something this BW was perfect. It's right off I-95 so it's easy off & on. The room, though small, was clean & pretty fresh. There's a number of chain eateries very close by & a modern open air mall within shouting distance. The free breakfast was average for this type of motel but that's fine too. Waffles, eggs, sausage, pastries, etc, etc. All good. I've had good luck with BWs the last few years. They are not 5 star boutique hotels but for $100-$150/nite they are usually more than adequate.

The staff is great and very friendly, Like to give a special acknowledgement to Kathy that made us feel like we were visiting her home. The room was clean, comfortable. The breakfast had a good selection and once again the staff was over the top friendly and I felt like a family member that had been invited to breakfast in their home.

We heard the back door is left unlocked 24/7 with no visible camera or key card access panel. We came and went as we pleased all evening with the door open and no one questioning us. With safety being such a hot topic nowadays, definitely not a good idea. Does corporate know?

You can't go wrong with Best Western hotels (or most of them :).) Room was great, bed comfortable, decor nice, very clean. Continental breakfast was more like a small buffet. Eggs, sausages, ham (or they call Canadian Bacon :P) waffles, fresh fruits, and lots more. Definitely will go back to this location!!

The Best Western Plus Augusta Civic Center Inn is a great hotel to stay in. The staff was very helpful, kind, generous, and friendly. The hotel was a short distance from the bus station and highway.It was also close to restaurants and lotsof shopping. I actually booked two rooms and this was awesome because as a surprise they had the adjoining door. A very happy surprise. I will always highly recommend this hotel to family and friends.

My husband and I spent one night at this property after spending the day in Acadia/Bar Harbor. It is conveniently located across from a shopping center. The property itself is directly beside the Civic Center. The king bedroom was a little tighter than what we're used to but it was clean and comfortable. The wifi worked well and breakfast was typical of a BW but better than some. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negatives would be that the guest room hallway is very long (we were at the very end) and therefore the ice/vending machines were inconvenient. Additionally, the exit door to the outside did not completely close so you didn't have to use the room key to enter even though there is a key swipe for access. There was a large dumpster in the parking lot right by this exit and on the side of the civic center so there was a bit of concern for safety.

Excellent stay at the BW Augusta. Hotel is well maintained and in a convenient location right off the Maine Tpke. Room was comfortable and clean. Continental breakfast as expected. Best thing was the staff. From check in, to the housekeepers, to the lady working the breakfast room they were all extremely friendly and nice. Have stayed in several other hotels in this area - from now on we will be staying at the Best Western.

For us it was a perfect location for what we needed. Clean and tidy, Great breakfast and amazingly huge and comfy beds. A great location to go and explore the city of Augusta itself which is small but beautiful.

Stayed at Best Western Plus in Augusta Maine for my granddaughter's softball tournament. All rooms are pet friendly which saved us boarding fees. Rooms were roomy and clean and have small microwaves and refrigerators. Breakfast was awesome with scrambled eggs (powdered), bacon, hash, baked beans, various pastries, make-your-own waffles with blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and whipped cream. So yummy!! Checkout was a breeze and staff is very friendly and helpful. Will be making our next hotel reservation at a Best Western Plus!!!

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions. The staff are very friendly and helpful, with quick check ins and and excellent service. The rooms are clean and quite comfortable, and the breakfast selection was good. The air conditioning unit in one of the rooms I stayed in was noisy and the room had a bit of a musty smell, but given the older age of the building, this is likely normal. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for the cost and I will definitely stay there again on my next trip through Augusta.

I was doing a college visit to Colby College in Waterville Maine. My daughter had her own lodging on the campus, and I chose this location because it was the closest and most economical for my budget. It was a very nice stay, very comfortable. The staff was very helpful and very courteous. Nice shop and restaurants across the street in the shopping center. Just a nice overall visit for a trip like this.

My wife and made a reservation here while traveling through the area. When we arrived around 10:00 P.M. we got to our room to find it in total disarray. Bed unmade, linens all over the floor and bed, and a sink full of towels. It appeared the room had never been cleaned from the previous guests. The staff at the front desk was very apologetic and allowed us to cancel our reservation and leave. While we were waiting to explain our issues, a lady in front of us was asking for a new room because their air conditioner wasn't working in the room they had just checked into. I'm sure this isn't representative of how they generally run this hotel, but just a heads up on what we found when we arrived. We stayed at an Airbnb in the area after leaving the hotel.

Facility was nice. Staff helpful and friendly. We had no problems. Nearby restaurants and shopping mall is within walking distance. Breakfast bar was fresh and had plenty of items to choose from. We would book a stay again if we get back in the area.

Clean updated rooms, friendly customer service, convenient location to interstate, shopping, restaurants, etc. Breakfast buffet was a tad better than most. Draw backs...property does show its age in some aspects but not a factor, the pool was closed but we were offered that amenity at a "sister property" and the walls seemed a little thin.

The location was close to a number of amenities making it very convenient with quick access to I95. The room was clean and well-kept, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, The breakfast bar was well stocked with a friendly and very busy hostess. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Okay, first the positive, and by positive I mean extremely positive. The staff at this location may be my favorite hotel staff in the history of my 40+ years on this earth. Everyone and I mean everyone, went above and beyond to be friendly. We were super impressed with this. Okay, now the less positive. We actually stayed two nights (but with a gap in between the nights). On night one our room smelled of cigarette smoke, I presume from days when the hotel was smoking. I am a bit sensitive to it and it definitely affected my quality of sleep. Night two was much better, so it may be somewhat room independent? Other notes: The free buffet-style breakfast is a step above continental setups. Nothing fancy, mind you, but pretty good for free. If you really are inspired to have more cooked-to-order style breakfast, there's an IHOP immediately adjoining the hotel. The pool was closed, empty. It didn't look like anyone was working on it actively during our stay, and we were definitely disappointed it wasn't available. So if this is important to you then you might want to call and ask first. All in all, we're not positive we will be back (mostly due to smoke), but the positives still will make us still actively consider it!

When booking my reservation, I spoke with Donna and jokingly mentioned requiring red M&M's in my room. It made me smile when I checked into my room after a long day of driving and found that she had actually followed thru with my silly request. The hotel is tired and could use an update. The location off the highway is convenient, but the breakfast was disappointing. We stayed with family for a graduation so we didn't choose the hotel. In the future, we'll look elsewhere.

Sister & I stayed overnight and had the handicap room. It was very spacious and had a wheelchair shower! The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The room had coffee , fridge and microwave. We had breakfast in morning. Staff were friendly and helpful. I will stay here again.

Whole building smells like smoke! Found someone elses dirty underwear in bathroom with their used towels. So gross ! Its 90 and the pool is empty and flithy! Feel like I'm being punked. Dont wver come here filthy

The staff here are very pleasant, however the property is terrible. The place needs a complete renovation. The rugs are bad, the décor is old. Our room was smelly but we got in too late to change hotels. We opened the window as wide as we could. The lot across the road is parking for semis. We heard refrigerator motors running all night but needed the fresh air. The breakfast was mediocre.

We were in Maine for my step daughter's Colby College commencement, but the closest we could get to Waterville was Augusta. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was really tasty and abundant. The staff was friendly and helpful. Although the motel was essentially adjacent to the interstate it was quiet. I would stay here again.

From the moment I and a business associate arrived, staff were exceptional ! Are average stay on business per location (hotel) would be two days max at any hotel. Thus far we have been here over a week and will stay until our business meetings are over. Have to drive a bit further to meetings from Augusta to Waterville, Portland ect, but its worth it. Staff were always upbeat, always said good morning, good evening, have a nice day, is their anything they could do or get for us....... felt very pampered ! They all have a great sense of humor and interact with guests. I will highly reccommend this location to others..... Thanks again Missy, Brenda, kathy, Katie, for making our stay so welcoming, comfortable and enjoyable. Will be back for sure .

Even though my room were “Cleaned”, the overall appearance felt dirty and old. Walls need to be painted, carpet replaced, etc. My major concern is that I received a print out of redemption of gift cards that I used to partial pay for my stay. On the back of one of the confirmation, there was a list of guest names, room numbers, balance due, credit card numbers with expiration dates and comments regarding the guests. Is this a common occurrence? Is my information safe? Contacted the hotel 2 days ago and still have not received a reply regarding the safety of my personal information.

The location was convenient to where we needed to be, and the mall across the street had amply food options and shopping opportunities. The rooms are dated, but the price was reasonable. The parking was always convenient.

If you are going to an event at the civic center, this hotel is a good choice. They upgraded an older hotel using granite countertops and up-to-date headboards and bedding. Room is small and has lots of mirrors. Bathroom has a fan and plenty of clean towels. The fridge and microwave are helpful. Breakfast has a lot of varied hot and cold items. An IHOP is attached to the hotel so if you want a bigger breakfast stop by there.

I enjoyed all aspects of this hotel and my stay, except the room wasn't completely clean when we arrived. There was trash from the previous guest left in both waste bins in our room. This is unacceptable.

We had a wonderful stay at the Best Western this weekend. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were quiet and the breakfast was the icing on the cake. The ladies helped find gluten free options for some of the people from our bus, they overheard someone say they liked the yogurt so they went on the back and got some more of that kind. Terry is so efficient and works so hard. She could run a much larger operation. The place could use s little updating but the staff made up for that.

Came here in January 2018 and was pleasantly surprised by the hotel, as shown in my previous review under the name Ethan B. Was planning on going to the Fairfield Marriott but after we got a rude welcome there, we switched to ol' faithful (Best Western Plus). Wonderful, excellent staff. Welcoming, positive, and just all-around helpful. Housekeeping was thorough and the housekeepers were really nice as well, and good at their jobs. Staff was also professional and never did I think "Oh, they could've done better." Also, freshly-baked cookies on the front desk for the guests? Nice touch! Continental breakfast seems to have gotten better, with the addition of blueberry muffins (I believe they're new). Rooms are extremely cozy and warm in the cold season, especially in Maine. Stayed this month, April, but it was still chilly so the room was cozy. Hotel is clean, nice, and in a great, quiet location. Only problems are that the doors are loose and you can hear noise from the hallways. Will be back as soon as I can!

No availability in Waterville to attend a funeral so kept looking till we found a good rate at this one. Very friendly and helpful staff. Average hotel. Big concern was door #2 to enter hotel from parking lot was never locked. Anyone could walk in and walk the halls of this hotel. We felt very unsafe.

Stop over on my way home to NB. The hotel was close to highway with easy access. Only problem with stay was there was a strong order of jaxex or other cleaning solution, made my eyes water. Other than that it was ok.

I'll start with the good: the room was very clean, the bathroom was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good for a continental style. The woman in charge of the breakfast that day was super on top of everything and was very friendly and kept everything stocked and clean. On to the not so good: the lighting in the room that we stayed in was awful, they're using those LED light bulbs from ten years ago that give off that awful cold white light, it felt like jail lighting, like a fluorescent glow. Not relaxing at all. The room was pretty small as well, we had a king size. On the website it mentions that they have satellite tv, we only had basic cable, not that we minded but thought it was false advertising. Also on website, it said there was an attached "Italian restaurant" the attached restaurant was an IHOP, I'm not entirely sure of IHOPs origins but I don't think it really qualifies as an Italian restaurant... anyway, the room wasn't cheap which is why I feel more critical. Change your light bulbs to an energy efficient warm light bulb and the room would feel so much better.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Ok for a overnight stay. Breakfast selection could have been better. Coffee was good. Hotel was easy to find near the highway and had easy access. Beds were comfortable but heating system was a little noisy.

After a long day and shortly after darkness descended I chose Augusta, Maine as a destination. The problem was I found access to the hotel a little confusing but carefully edged my way to the front door. Any negative feelings were dispelled when I entered the foyer. Big, bright and well designed it welcomed me to the front desk where I was met by a lady endowed with down home hospitality. The hotel began major renovations in 2017 on the top floor and continues today with a completion date in the spring of 2018. Our room was nicely decorated and had all the comforts of home and more. There is more! Physically connected to the hotel is an IHOP restaurant. No freezing in the cold. Service at the restaurant was tops. And more! A delicious hot/cold breakfast is available just off the foyer and is designed to suit any palate. It is included in the room price. I look forward to a return visit in three months.

My dad was on a trip for work and we stayed in this awesome hotel. It is so fancy and clean. The hallways smell like smoke, however. Yuck. The room is lovely, with a bathroom, a large king bed, a fridge, a microwave, and a closet. I dislike how the mini-fridge lacks a freezer, however. Very convenient location of the hotel, right off I-95 and across from the famed Augusta Civic Center, as well as the Augusta Marketplace. Breakfast was absolutely gorgeous! Cereals, oatmeal, coffee, three types of juices, potato fries, hard-boiled eggs, toast and bagels, fresh fruits, waffles with sugar and blueberry toppings, many types of mini-cereal boxes, muffins, and more! Service was INCREDIBLY friendly and happy to tend to our needs. Asked for new toiletries and they came up with them within 5 minutes, smiling while handing them to me. Friendly, friendly folks here. Delicious food! Also doing some renovations on the first floor. Business center was very business-like and the fitness center was great! Pool was outdoor and closed for the season due to snow. I will come back here again. It's a bit pricey, I might add, but the company paid for our two nights, so no charge to us.

Staff was friendly, breakfast fantastic, pet accomodations were very accessible, and overall stay was great, close to where my seminar was held. I recommended this to another classmate and will be using this facility each time.

No surprises - but the IHOP restaurant is not Rooster's - which was a bar/restaurant doing dinners. As an overnight during a trip - clean, close to highway, and quiet. Seems to be in the process of a needed decor upgrade, and the halls seem tired. Did not have time to check out the pool.

Regularly travel to Boston and need a place to stay close to the highway. This location works great. Close to the 95, affordable, clean, quite, able to get a good breakfast and get back on the highway. Friendly staff too!

It was an excellent experience. I had everything I needed. Even a friendly wake-up call. I could have asked for any number of things, which would've been provided, but didn't need them. It's comforting to know they're there if I needed them.

We were up for a parents weekend for our Freshman son (out from the West Coast) and this was one of the nearer hotels with availability. About the best thing I can say is that the place was about what I expected. The hotel is right off the highway, in a nondescript, quasi office park so you are not getting any nice Maine scenery here. The room was generally clean and comfortable, although the hall had an overpowering floral smell like someone used a lot of a deodorizer to hide a smell. The walls were quite thin so you could hear anyone in the hall or in the surrounding rooms. The pillows were not all that comfortable, definitely not anywhere close to Heavenly pillows at SPG properties The staff was friendly and the price we paid was about right for what you get.

New, modern room with the hotel in a program of continuing upgrades spanning multiple years. Above average full breakfast with bacon, eggs, sausage, waffles with whipped cream, strawberries & blueberries, oatmeal packets with a great variety of dried fruit and other optional add on's, etc. "Brenda" that stocked breakfast was super efficient and friendly, as were all the desk staff. We are Florida snowbirds travelling with a cat. We appreciate the $10 pet policy. Wonderful experience; we are enthusiastic repeat customers. (But weren't impressed with the adjoining IHOP restaurant for dinner as the evening was cold, and so was the restaurant, slow service and low-average food.)

It is always a pleasure to stay at the Best Western. Every time I arrive, either Sondra, Katie, or Willie greet me with a smiling face and they are always pleasant! I know that when I get to my room, it is going to be as perfect as it can be because Kathy, Emily, and their staff make sure that everything is exactly how it should be. When I come down to breakfast, Brenda has everything stocked full and doesn't charge anything extra for the humor! When I check out, Missy and Tara always ask to make sure that everything was fine. With an offering of fresh baked cookies, they always make sure I have a great start to my day!

We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. Very clean room comfortable beds and adequate breakfast. The price was excellent compared to other hotels. Was very pleased to receive a text message saying that room was ready. Location just off the highway was convenient and many restaurant options in the area.

This Best Western has an unassuming two-story appearance. It's beside the Augusta Civic Center, in Augusta, Maine, and would be a great place to stay if you were going there for a show. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the TV and air conditioner worked well. Good hot shower. Refrigerator didn't have a freezer, but the desk person put my freezer pack in a freezer behind the desk, so that was OK. Breakfast was fine, the regular Best Western breakfast. The room was quiet, the laundry worked well. I have no complaints.

We were able to check in early and fund this to be a happy place to stay. Everyone is smiling and when approaching any employee they are smiling and you get more than a simple hello or good morning. They will chat with you about your day, glad to have you with us, etc. We found this motel to be located close to everything we wanted to go see and do during our three days with them. The desk clerk greeted you with a smile and were very good at giving directions, making suggestions on places we might want to see and recommending places to dine. The room was in good order and the bed was comfortable and a minimum level of noise. It is right across the street from a shopping mall and just down the road to I-95. This place is a BW Plus and it was everything I expected to find at a BW Plus.

Parked my car once and it did not move during my travels to Augusta for the ACTEM EdTech Annual Conference. The hotel is within walking distance to the convention center. Rooms are clean, staff is very friendly and professional. Free internet worked well and free breakfast are a plus.

We arrived before check-in and we were able to get right into a room. Rooms were in the process of being painted and new carpet laid. Our room had gone through the updating. All staff we encountered were friendly and stopped working to chat for a couple minutes. Breakfast was good with hot and cold items to choose from. Location was across the street from the civic center and just a couple minutes from Capital building.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, good buffet breakfast. The group rate made affordable. Not a scenic area, just convenient to highway. Not a destination resort. Basic hotel amenities. The hotel was very accommodating to large group of well mannered high school students in our group and were able to process their check in and check out smoothly.

The employees are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and the continental breakfast has a large variety of food items. The hotel is located near many stores and restaurants and with easy access to I-95.

This is an average hotel, nothing to make it special until you interact with staff or eat breakfast there. The clerk that checked us in was very pleasant and helpful and we ended up doing a load of laundry that evening. There is an IHOP attached to the BW hotel where we had dinner. The next morning when we got to the breakfast area, we were greeted and a lady who I assumed was a manager circulated amongst guests and visited. It was a very personal touch that was appreciated. The breakfast was also awesome, one of the best we've had at a hotel while traveling the past two weeks.

My wife and I thought this BW to be okay. Not to the standards of the Best Western's out west. We had some room problems(bad tv/ odors) that were taken care of by the polite staff. We found the rooms on the small side and the carpet old. Breakfast was okay. Slightly over-priced.

"free wifi" that consists of an optional paid plan or else the connection dies every 2 minutes (literally). generally not worth the money - well, except the wake up call. I was already up and in the shower and couldn't answer; they called back to make sure they got me. That was unexpected.

The hotel is good value for the money. The room was clean and somewhat updated. Free breakfast, not many healthy options. The hotel is right off of 95. Many restaurants and shopping are close by. There is a IHop on the property.

This hotel was extremely clean and the staff very friendly. It is pet friendly and there is plenty of grassy area to walk a dog. The room was very clean and had a refrigerator which came in handy. The king size bed was very comfortable too. The complimentary breakfast was good and the dining area was kept very clean by the staff during the breakfast hours. The location is right off of I-95 and next to the civic center.

Stayed at this hotel in August! The staff; especially Brenda and Kathy are truly amazing. They made our stay so great that we decided to extend! The hotel and the rooms are also very clean! Will definitely be going back to see these 2 ladies!

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a good experience. Front desk manager was friendly and knowledgeable; very helpful when our plans changed and we needed to extend our stay. The breakfast area is spacious and they had a nice variety of options with plenty available. The common areas appeared clean and our room was fairly clean (minus an item we found presumably from the previous guests in the room). The room was a bit small for a king size bed, but there was a nice table/chair and a separate seating chair. The location was very easy to reach off I95 and the rate was very reasonable. There is an IHOP next door for easy food and there are several other meal options near by for lunch/dinner. Overall good experience and will not hesitate to stay here again when we're in the area.

The room smelled a little like dirty dog. However the staff are very friendly. And the room was comfortable. The breakfast was average. The beds are very comfortable and clean. The housekeeping staff were very nice.

The lobby, hallways and rooms each had a unique and awful odors In lovely to never forget. I had to convince my siblings to stick it out since we were only staying the night before continuing our road trip. Breakfast was great and so was the WiFi.

Property was a BW PLUS but I don't feel it should have been more than a regular BW rating. Dated decor, loud AC, double beds not queen and they were not comfy. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was normal but had same meat products both days. Place was clean Location is excellent if attending event at Augusta Civic center. Within walking distance to some major shopping, movies, and steak house.

We stayed here for one night as a stop-over on our tour of New England. Nothing really wrong with the place just a bit 'brown'! It was clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly but it is a bit tired. Breakfast was as expected in a Best Western, DIY buffet style but it was ok. Would probably stay again but only as a stop-over. We drove to the centre of Augusta to eat and were really surprised at the state of the place considering it's the state capital! Run down waterfront and not much in the way of a retail area either. Found it difficult to find somewhere to eat, ended up in a diner outside of town, which was actually very good! Give it a miss unless you have to visit!

Wish there was A/C in the room, it was hot!!! The breakfast was ok, the eggs were cold and the sausage had bones in them (hurt my tooth). Great location, clean rooms and nice pool and exercise room. Thank you Best Western for the stay!

My wife and I decided to go for a shopping trip / getaway and decided to come down for two nights. The hotel was very easy to find off the highway. The rooms were clean a little outdated but no major problems at all. The outdoor pool looked very nice but I did not get a chance to go swimming. Also they had the best pillows, wish I could find out how to get some. They had a morning breakfast included but we went to ihop which was next door. Also across the street there is a lot of shopping and restaurants. I would definitely return

We come back here every summer because of the staff. The hotel is getting a little run down. Not enough accommodations for handicapped. Our room was very far from the lobby. The staff are still great but the hotel needs work (carpet, exit signs, etc.)

The staff is absolutely great, nothing to complain about there, super friendly lovely people. Breakfast is good too. The rooms are eh - could be a lot better. I stayed here on 2 different nights (checked in and out 2 different times). The first room I got smelled like smoke even though I booked a non-smoking room. It was really bad but since the hotel was booked, couldn't change rooms so I dealt with it for the night. I traveled with friends and some had nice smelling rooms and some had a smoking room that was converted to a non-smoking room so the smoke smell still lingered. The second time I stayed at this hotel, I called previously to make sure I did not have a smoking room and the staff was great about that. I did get a non-smoking room but the shower curtain smelled horrific like mold or smelly feet. My friends had a combo of rooms either it was smokey smelling or another really stinky shower curtain. I think many of the rooms are "non-smoking" but they were converted from smoking rooms so that smell is still around. My advice to the hotel is to change out all the carpets and shower curtains to get rid of the smell. But besides these two things, the stay was fine.

Good place to stay near restaurant shopping if you like to close to other major cities also ,would recommend staff friendly good breakfast .Rooms were clean lots to do in the area .Great location for business person as it was quiet at this location .

I recently stayed at the Best Western Plus in Augusta, Maine. The staff was so friendly and helpful throughout my 5-day stay. Breakfasts were delicious and hearty -- loved the blueberry waffles with whipped cream! Everyone from the front desk staff to the maids and dining room staff were especially helpful. I appreciated being able to walk to the mall across the street for meals and shopping and the location next to the Augusta Civic Center was perfect.

The location for this hotel is ideal for any stay in Augusta. Front Desk and housekeeping staff were continuously friendly whenever we saw them. Our bed was so very comfortable, and we appreciated the option of an outside entrance close to our room. The wifi was perfect for my business needs. Only possible issue is the height of the shower head in the bathroom. Perfect for anyone under 6'3".

The room was fine; the bed and bathroom were fine; the swimming pool was fine. What made it special was the personal attention that was SHOWERED on guests. we have been here before and look forward to returning next year.

I have a service dog, and this hotel is located very near University of Maine Augusta. There were many trails which she could run on as a reward/release for her work. Halls and rooms are wide enough. Wireless worked great. Quiet helping us to focus. I don't think I have stayed anywhere that was cleaner than this hotel.

We were in town for a wedding this past week and stayed at the Best Western +. The room was small but more than adequate. What impressed me the most was the staff and their willingness to go out of their way to have us accommodated. The wedding guests all arrived early and Kathy did her best to get us in rooms as they became available so we could freshen up and dress for the mid afternoon affair. In speaking with her later she gave the credit to staff, most of whom had been employed there for more than five years--not common in a business used to frequent turnover. Would gladly stay again. IHOP next door was a plus for me even though the free hot breakfast at the motel was very good.

Boyfriend and I stayed one night here last week. Sadly, the pool wasn't open so no swimming. The room was small but functional. The Internet worked well. It was surprisingly quiet despite numerous other guests. The front desk people are so very nice. No complaints! There is an IHop attached which is convenient!

Yes, this place is a palace. And if you have a coupon from the motel coupon books given out at motel rest areas and exits, and if they accept it, you will get a great deal. I just had too many problems with my room to give it the expected 5*. Great check-in in a real lobby. The room is wonderful: excellent lighting on both sides of the very comfortable bed. A big bathroom with excellent toiletries provided. The room had its own little coffee bar. It was very, very quiet; I never heard a sound. The breakfast was copious, and the staff worked very hard at constantly replacing things (a sign of a very well-run motel). So why not the expected five stars? Too many things didn't work. The water was only tepid, which made shaving difficult. (They worked on this and probably had it fixed before I left.) The TV had terrible reception. I got another network on the Weather Channel, and several others were breaking up. There is no freezer in the fridge (I like to freeze a water bottle to take on the road), and I couldn't find a way to open the microwave (no button or handle). All in all, I would stay here again in a minute. Scooper47's Top Tips: Stop at an interstate exit or rest area and get a book of motel coupons. If you don't need a reservation, you can save a lot. Stayed here two years ago and it was a solid four star. Not so anymore. No luggage rack in the room. Went to front desk and they asked if I was sure. Said this was unusual. Did get me another. It was a hot day and was looking forward to using the pool. July and it was closed. Apparently they had lost there maintainence man and there was no one to get it ready. I paid for the pool but could not use it.The room had a total of three hangers. Must have gone to the same place as the luggage rack. Had reserved the room four months earlier and requested second floor. Even with a 4:00 check in no second floor rooms available. Had a room next to the laundry. On the plus side the room had been redone and had fridge,micro,coffee,ironing board, and flat screen TV. Fast free wifi. Hotel is located across from a large mall with all the stores/restaurants you could want. Augusta Civic Center next door. Would I stay again? Not without assurances the problems I encountered were addressed. In July the rates are $129. I had booked at $89. Maybe that was the reason.

The Best Western Plus, August Civic Center is within very easy access to the Interstate, so perfect for easy-off, easy-on. The hotel itself is directly across the street from the Civic Center and a shopping complex including a Super Walmart. There is an I-Hop connected to the hotel, plus various restaurants close by including Olive Garden and Denny's. Before arriving I received a text asking my arrival time, and even though it was before the traditional check-in time, my room was available and I was greeted with friendly, courteous service from the front desk staff. The hotel seems to be relatively new with spacious, clean rooms; interior corridors, ample parking, a pool and guest laundry. There were complimentary local papers in the lobby area, the internet was free and fast and breakfast adequate. You can't go wrong when choosing Best Western Plus Augusta Civic Center Inn. I found my stay Excellent!!

Very good hotel with an excellent rate. Friendly and helpful staff. A very nice location near shopping and food. Excellent access to route 95. Adjacent to University of Maine and it was great to walk around the campus and look at the artwork.

After spending a week on a hospital room couch caring for her Mother, my wife just wanted a pool to take a dip in. We'd already had to get a room twice in the area so funds were low. We went with BWPlus because they boasted and showed pics of an outdoor pool and newly renovated rooms. The lobby looked great and promising. I chose to unload through a side entrance. Two unlocked doors on the first floor, neither required a key card. They led through a dingy, stifling hallway to our room. The room wasn't terrible. It was certainly better than the hallways. After I dropped my stuff in the room, I went to check out the pool. Empty! When my wife arrived to find that out and saw the hallways, lack of security and less than impressive room, she wanted to leave. I booked through Expedia and explained to them our issue with the misrepresentation and they offered to call the hotel on our behalf to plead our case. No luck. BWPlus held firm on their no cancellation policy even though they could not produce what they advertised. So, 30min after checking in and $110 later, we left to find a new hotel. We were pleased to find a brand new Fairfield Inn by Marriot a mile away. For $25 (Sunday night rate) more, they had a pool, awesome breakfast and floors you feel comfortable walking barefoot on! The overall feel walking in was like night and day.

The hotel was adequate for a quick stay over. A/C system was noisy the first night but was repaired by the time I returned for the second night's stay! Did not report during first night due to late time.

Traveling from Scranton PA to St. John, New Brunswick was not sure where we would stay. When we got to Augusta Maine, my husband was looking tired. In looking for a place to stay we say Best Western Plus. What a great place. From the check in when we got there with no reservations the staff were courteous and very helpful. Our rooms were excellent and quiet. This hotel is also close to a mall, enjoyed the DQ ice cream. In the morning breakfast was great and Kathy and Katie made our morning. Always enjoyable when people take pride in their work. Brenda the manager stopped by our table to see if we needed anything and to see how our stay was. Will Stay here on our trip back from Prince Edward Island if possible. A delightful and wonderful stay.

The best thing about this place was the staff. So friendly and helpful. The room smelled of smoke and air freshener. It was clean but drab and worn. Good enough for one night but not for a vacation. The breakfast was typically tragic. Why can't we get local baked goods? At least there were waffles.

Stopped in for the night and was happy with the choice. The rooms were large and inexpensive all things considered. Beds were comfortable and there was free breakfast. Good walking trails behind the civic center too so I didn't need to check out the fitness room. The pool was closed for painting at the time. The lobby and breakfast nook were freezing so bring a sweater

The room was clean, bathroom was clean and all parts of it were working, all be it knobs , shower heads etc all seemed to be new and all were in working order. Very please will be staying there again soon, for sure..

As other have mentioned...has about everything one needs with stores and restaurants nearby. The breakfast has an attractive presentation but maybe that's the best part. Had problems with room key losing its smarts. Desk clerk seem to know how to over come that(told system we were staying 2 nights) so I think it is a known problem with lock system

The staff is exceptional. Kathy,in housekeeping was very pleasant and always helpful and friendly, as was her whole staff, and the staff at front desk. Worth the time and money for the experience! Is easily accessed from Interstate 95. Easy acess to downtown Augusta and many other shopping areas, and restaurants.

I've stayed at quite a few different Best Westerns when I need to stay at a hotel, so I felt pretty confident when I booked this one but was a tad disappointed in the experience. I'm going to jump right into the pros and cons.. Pros: - The front staff was super friendly and helpful. I was woken up at 4am from loud neighbors and called the front staff who actually went to the room to listen and confirm, then called them. I mention going to the room because she could have ignored me entirely, or she could have been rude and rang random room numbers. She took the effort to confirm and took care of it. Also, the day person was also extremely friend (Katie I think her name was) - Standard clean room like expected - The lady running the breakfast area was all over the place making sure everything was full at all times. Cons - Kind of limited options for the continental breakfast. No scrambled eggs was a first. Minor nit pick though. Very small con - Room had a funky smell. Both my wife and I noticed it as soon as we went in, but it was 11pm when we finally entered the room and I didn't want to ask to switch. I hoped the smell would go away with the fan running but it didn't. I didn't bring this up to the front, so I do not have a reply how they would have handled it - Loud neighbors. As I mentioned above, being woken up at 4am sucked. The front desk girl took care of it, but sucked that I heard them at all. Walls were pretty thin since they didn't really seem like they were yelling. Just talking fairly loud. - No asprin anywhere! Another very minor gripe. I had a headache and they didn't sell asprin anywhere. Luckily the girl mentioned above (Katie) actually had some. Overall it wasn't a great experience but not a bad one. Most of my issues were minor, and when I did bring it up with the front they took care of it. They also can't really control how loud people will be, so it's not a knock on the hotel, but it does seem like they have thin walls. Would I stay again? Probably, but I would check the room out first to make sure no weird smell

This was a nice place to stay, the staff was courteous,the room was very nice and the breakfast was good as well. The location worked for us as we were travelling around Maine. The woman at the front desk recommended a great place to eat and directions to get there.

I made my reservation almost 2 months in advance. I was very surprised after driving 10 hours and re-confirming my registration on the way (I responded to a text or email sent to me while travelling) only to have the young lady tell me there were no rooms (at first). She corrected herself, told me I asked for a smoking room (I am allergic, never smoked) and was eventually provided a room with beds too small for us (I reserved a king sized bed for a reason). I was still a bit miffed at my 2 day stay in an inadequate room, especially with the price I paid. Also, the bathtub drain was clogged and no-one responded to my requests the entire stay. That tub would collect water before we could step into the tub. Disgusting. Oh, and don't forget your toothbrush...the free ones they give you will leave you with a mouth full of bristles!

Room was usual Best Western with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Wifi was not working during our stay however we were able to access Wifi from the restaurant next door from the breakfast area. Hot items offered in the breakfast area were best left alone (not edible) suggest guests stick to waffles, bagels or cereals. Overall good value for the money. Mall and several restaurants just across the street.

Hotel was right off the highway and was located centrally to all kinds of shopping & restaurants. Most convenient feature was there's an IHOP located right in the hotel itself. Made going for supper after being on the road for a number of hours easy to choose. Gas station not too far away for the late night snack pickup. Great room, very comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Made for a relaxing stay.

After living 64 years in HOT California we needed a change. We traveled cross the USA searching for THE place to call home. One day we stop at the Best Western in Augusta, Maine, and took a deep breath, finally relaxing. Kathy, Brenda and Robin made our 10day visit wonderful. They helped us find a realtor, places to sightsee, they suggested moving companies, pointed out banks in this area, they explained propane to us, snow removed, even talked to us about the black flies. They truly help to prepare us for living in Maine instead of just visiting. We moved here 4 months after that visit. Maine is a fantastic state to live in. Thank you to Best Western and their wonderful informed staff who really fulfill the needs of the people staying there.

The housekeeping staff is FANtastic ... Kathy, Brenda, and Marcia especially! I left a cord in the room when I checked out and was able to go back and get it later in the week with FANtastic friendly help!

This was our first visit to the Best Western in Augusta and if we have the opportunity to return to Augusta, we would not hesitate to return and to recommend this hotel to friends. We were quick pleasantly surprised by the extensive breakfast offered as well as the hotel employee Brenda who made our breakfast experience very enjoyable.

Room was very clean and spacious front desk people were so pleasant to my wife and I. Had a lovely Easter breakfast of eggs and hash,juice and a bagel with coffee.Brenda and Teri were so nice trying to help us find and open store on Easter morning.They should be commended for the great hospitality they extended to us.

I stay here at least 6 times a year ,I've had the best service of many places I stay ,Kathy in housekeeping is very good rooms allways clean and great help the breakfast was outstanding ,Brenda was excellent food was hot and room was very clean great service friendly even though she was very busy great stay and thank you I shall return

We had a ground floor room. Nice and spacious, King bed, micro and fridge. Hot breakfast, which included sausage and eggs, waffles etc. Cold lemon flavored water all day. Staff was wonderful and was happy to accommodate any needs we had. Will be staying here again.

the hotel was a little out dated and the security could've been safer, however all the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, couldn't have asked for more on there part. especially Donna, she was very caring and helpful.

The staff were great, the motel ok, though not exceptional--certainly not 'plus' by any means. The attached restaurant, though not a Best Western owned place, was horrible. A very sour end to a long day of driving. It's an IHOP--replacing a quite good and attractive former tenant. DO NOT GO THERE. They are totally incompetent and shouldn't be in business. Almost nothing on the menu available, badly trained staff etc etc, Sorry Best Western, you have a loser for a partner!

We stayed here on a drive from Florida back to Nova Scotia. This was an excellent choice - even although renovations were going on at the time of our stay. These did not interfere in any way, and we found the whole place to be very well cared for, the staff friendly and competent, as well as welcoming, as well as appearing to enjoy their place of work. Special thanks to Donna (Breakfast area) and Kathy (manager) for being so personable and friendly.

I've stayed here many times. There is a lot of construction workers and at times when they are in town- it gets a little loud. The staff are excellent and very customer oriented. Anything you need, just ask! The rooms are a little dated, but there are renovations currently being done so I'm sure that will take care of that issue. Clean bedding and top notch employees!

Friendly hotel staff. IHOP for dinner "so so". Rooms are average, clean but small. Wasn't crazy about prior restaurant and still not crazy about IHOP. hotle offers decent breakfast which is included. I'll stay again but probably go elsewhere for dinner.

Staff were very helpful. My room carpeting was stained and dirty... my bed was very comfortable. Amenities were very good, I would recommend this hotel to friends. The breakfast was ok... My overall experience was great.

Stayed while on business. Very convenient location with lots of restaurants and shopping. Friendly, helpful staff, quick check in and out. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast had good variety and breakfast room spotless and well stocked. Didn't like the round "egg". Would have preferred scrambled.

We enjoyed the continental breakfast very much but the room was dirty and smelled bad and missing hanging pictures. We have stayed before and not had this problem but the smell in the room was gross!!!

We stayed here this weekend and the price, service, and rooms were wonderful. We paid $90 for our room, which is the lowest price we have paid anywhere in a very long time. No, it's not the Ritz, but we didn't expect luxury for $90. We were greeted very warmly as we got there, and the girl printed out directions to some places we were looking for. Our room, while a few things were dated was very nice, and really large. The bathroom sink was in the very large and clean bathroom, so there were no issues with privacy. The beds were comfortable, wifi worked great, there was a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. They also have a thermostat to control the heat, so it was easy to stay comfortable. This morning we had an excellent continental breakfast. The girls working in the large breakfast room were cheerful and helpful, and there were strawberries and cream and fruit flavored syrup to put on the waffles, along with a lot of other items, including an interesting oatmeal bar. Checkout was easy, and the girl was very helpful and cheerful.

This is the place to be..the Staff is exceptional here.. the rooms are awesome..you can take your pets with you.. We stay there for the expo shows right there at the Civic Center and for appointments and visits to my parents and we have always had a great stay.. Brenda (the breakfast girl) we call her is the best..just like family there.

We had booked a block of rooms for our daughters wedding guests. Everything was very good from rooms to service to convenience to wedding venue. Close to the bus service from Portland/Boston, shopping and local eateries.

Very nice room. Clean with comfortable bed. Amenities included microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker. Very convenient to the mall and many restaurants. Easy off and easy on to the highway. Really enjoyed our stay.

We were intransit from Maine to New Hampshire. This hotel worked out great. Very clean,nice helpful staff and a great location. Breakfast was nice with plenty of room in the breakfast area. Easy access off and back on the freeway. Also close proximity to the state capitol for some nice pictures.

I stayed at the Best Western Plus while attending a conference at the Civic Center - SO convenient and with several restaurants and stores across the road, it was even more so! The service at the front desk was top-notch. Room was clean and well-appointed. Ample parking. Easy to access off Route 95. Would stay here again next time.

Drove a long way to get there...once again in October and it was a Friday night, so the price was $250+ The room was clean...but no fan in the bathroom. No freezer in the refrigerator but staff allowed us to use the hotel freezer. The night attendant was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was OK, but now eggs. Whaaah! Instant oatmeal and Biscuits with sausage gravy had to suffice. Very close to huge market plaza with Walmart, Sam's Club, Kohl's, many more.

Great hotel and great location. Being located just across from a huge shopping plaza that has just about every store that you could want is a major plus. The area contains many restaurants that you can choose from. The staff are very welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area. The rooms are clean. Breakfast is a great added benefit to the stay. Not the ordinary breakfast but a good choice of hot foods available as well. I have stayed here three times this year and will continue to make this hotel my go to place when I am need a place to stay when in the Augusta area.

We came up late on a Friday night for the weekend. The receptionist welcomed us graciously. I had inadvertently book a smoking room and I requested to change to nonsmoking. Unfortunately there were not any available however she was able to reserve a non smoking room for Saturday. I thanked her and we went to settle in for the night. When we opened the door it reeked of smoke. The room appeared to be clean but it felt like there was a nicotine film on everything. The carpet was wet and there were cigarette burns throughout. I understand that it was a smoking room but come on, it was gross. The next day we changed rooms without any problem to the nonsmoking room reserved for us the night before. Much better! Enjoyed a nice continental breakfast on Sunday. I gave 4 stars only because of the smoking room, but it was my own fault. Otherwise a great weekend

Our room was clean and had everything we needed. It was very compact, but arranged to take advantage of the space. It had a small microwave, but it was large enough for our needs. We were comfortable there. The staff was very friendly.

The National Narrow Gauge Convention chose this hotel and arranged for a group rate. The hotel is just steps away from the convention center and also in walking distance to an Olive Garden restaurant and shopping mall. Eventually, there will be a restaurant attached to the hotel. The BW breakfast bar was excellent and opened early enough so we could eat before the various tours and events.

The staff does not recognize diamond members. In fact they gave me the worst room they had available, a handi-cap room by all the noise on the parking lot. Asked to speak to a manager but they said none available but would contact me in morning. No one did. Hotels smells bad and is very dated. There are better options on the area fro the price.

Carpet looked worn and dirty. Bathroom floor dirty. Coffee maker inside of water tank dirty. Pillows good. Bed was hard. I would say if you are going to stay here ask for a newly renovated room. If they don't have any available. Motor on.

I really like the staff here. They where very friendly and helpful. If you needed something they where more than happy to help you. The rooms are very clean. The breakfast was very good. The breakfast lady was always on top of everything and very friendly. The room was very comfortable. The wake up calls where always on time when they where suppose to be. We usually stay at a different hotel when visiting Augusta, but this time do to a better price and similar rating, we tried the Best Western...I am glad we did. It exceeded my expectations: staff was very friendly, rooms are exactly what you would expect, the breakfast had the best selection, I have seen at any hotel. The lady who worked th ed breakfast room was helpful and very friendly and keep everything stocked and clean, even during a busy Saturday morning. We will definitely be going back, and have recommended it already, to family who travel through the Augusta area. If clean rooms, location to shopping, and valued priced are what you are looking for in a hotel, I recommend you book a room here.

This is a dog friendly hotel that only charges $10 a night for two dogs! The rooms are in good shape and very clean. The included breakfasts are typical cafeteria food, Ok for when you are in a hurry. The staff is always pleasant and accommodating.

We visited from UK in August. Cannot fault size of rooms and service from staff especially Brenda the breakfast lady as you are met with such a nice friendly smile and chat each morning. I did however feel at times that extra staff were needed when coaches were in or the Hotel full. Our room was missed one day when it was full to capacity (we all make mistakes) we arrived back about 8.30pm my hubby went to reception to say about it and the poor lady was the only one about and on her own so did offer to come sort when she could, but we are easy going and asked for clean towels and trash bags as its just one of those things. PLEASE, PLEASE buy Brenda a new cream and fruit server as the lid is broke and she was forever explain to guests lol

Excellent accommodations, fine hot breakfast, fine Staff, comfortable and clean beds and rooms. Easy on and off of I-95. My wife is very particular about the cleanliness of hotel rooms and the quality of the sheets and towels. She was very pleased here.

We were forced to stay here due to heavy traffic in the area for concerts in Bangor and Augusta. The lady was about as friendly as a pet raccoon. I asked for non smoking but she that this was all they had. Did not know that smoking was still permitted. She was unconcerned and really did not seem to care. First and last time staying there.

We were very happy with the whole staff! The bed was actually comfortable for me. The outside was nicely taken care of too. The attached restaurant was just OK, but GREAT beer selection. If we go to Augusta again, we'll certainly stay here!!

Stopped on our way to Bangor so it was an easy off / easy on stop off the highway. The beds were very comfortable,the room was clean, the staff was attentive & the connecting restaurant/bar was very convenient. Very pleased!

This hotel was a little hard to find. It was a good place to stay for the night. Had some trouble with the bath drain, but the staff took the complaint seriously. They were also helpful with an internet problem that turned out to be MY EQUIPMENT, not theirs. Nice pub style restaurant next door.

Close to the 95,but really quiet around the hotel.A very welcoming entree,,with newspapers on the tables,coffee and tea available and a very nice place to sit.They have a nice size outdoor-pool,a work-out room and our room was perfect. ..Breakfast was also excellent and enough places to sit.And you d,ont have too far to go to eat......right next door is Rooster,cute place,lot of T.V.s and excellent.We have to come back.

A quick pit stop at the start of our trip. We had a good stay. As we did a couple years ago. Breakfast was the best selection of our 2 week trip to Indiana and back. Close to shopping and lots of restaurants. I'd stay here again in a heart beat! Staff is very friendly, including the breakfast lady in the morning.

This motel seemed very clean . The beds were comfortable . I liked that breakfast was included in our price , unfortunately we got in late and over slept missing it . The check out time wasn't until noon time . I would recommend this motel to anyone . Lots of shopping next door if you forget something .

We were in town for a softball tournament. This hotel was an excellent choice for our team. hotel was nice, staff were extremely nice and helpful. free breakfast, restaurant attached, outdoor pool with nice grass area to play yard games. we will definitely stay here next year!

Our room was very clean which is very important to us, bathroom was spotless!!!! Staff her is so friendly always wanting to know if they can help with anything. Kathy head of housekeeping always smiling ,cheery, and helpful. also Marcia did a great job with our room and supplying us with any needs for our room. Breakfast was great.....And Sondra at the front desk mapped our a route for us to the lobster fest and always had a smile . Employees all seemed like they enjoyed helping us with anything..... We felt right at home!!!!

The motel is well- situated very close to the Civic Center and there is shopping and restaurants nearby. The staff was really friendly and professional. Our room was large, clean and well-appointed. The beds were really comfortable, which is really critical after a long day on the road. The Continental Breakfast was very good and there were plenty of choices. You might have to spend a few extra bucks when you go to a Best Western, but we have always received good service and this was no exception.

Fantastic Service, great staff and amazing breakfast. This was super convenient to the highway and the room I had was easy to get too. Really abundant breakfast- I was pleasantly surprised! I got that last room- though it was smoking. No fault of the hotel, but that was a stinky bummer

Couldn't have been a more perfect location for the Augusta quilt show. We just walked over there in a couple minutes. Our room was clean, and breakfast was provided every morning, which was nice. My husband enjoyed the waffles while I was able to get a few gluten free options, which included fruit and yogurt and hard boiled eggs. Also the adjoining restaurant, called ROOSTERS had a gluten free salad with fruit, that was very good. The receptionist at the front desk recommended a restaurant nearby (cloud nine in the senator inn), that specialized in seafood, and they also had gluten free selections, so I was in heaven - having some seafood on this trip too. We couldn't have picked a better location for our hotel, and there was even a mall nearby.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Brenda , who does the breakfast , is a gem and the management should appreciate her. The room was clean but could use updating. The cable tv was always scrambled despite the hotels listing of channels. I requested a room away from the elevator and was placed in a room across from the stairwell that is just as noisy. I would stay again only because of the wonderful staff but would request another room.

Great breakfast with lots of choices really appreciate the hotel having gluten free options, that is hard to find on such a breakfast setting. Staff were helpful and accommodating. Clean remote was great addition. Good location and easy to find, quiet. Consider adding a safe in the rooms for valuables.

Worn out style next to abandoned commercial property. Never locked back door from parking, only 1 ice machine. Check in didn't give AAA discount. Smoking room stunk whole hallway. By 2 am kid vomiting, throat swelling and headache. Front desk indifference was clear - she focused on how I knew it was a smoking room. Open windows wide. No Benadryl. No sympathy. Stay away from here. Most expensive motel of our 8 nights in Maine. Kids rate it the worst.

Bar Harbor Days Inn has nice suites with view of Frenchman's Bay but blocked by thick utility wires. Central location with use of pool and facilities at water side resort. My kids thought this was odd but you just park and walk in. Room had true divider between living and sleeping spaced. Would come again. Loved costal Maine!

I found this hotel to be very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and the room was clean also. Breakfast was pretty good, a nice variety of items to choose from. The location was great for our reason to be there. I would recommend this hotel to others.

We used this Inn as a centre for exploration in Mid Maine visiting the Museums at Brunswick and the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay. having shopping and places to eat close by was very convenient. The room was comfortable and clean, the buffet breakfast had a good range of items (including low carbohydrate offerings) . The Pizza restaurant adjoining the Inn was first class too. Outside swimming Pool provided a welcome break and a place to cool off in.

Great Staff...we had left something behind and they went out of their way to look for the items...great breakfast...rooms are very mediocre but for the price they are fine..I would consider this hotel for visting day for camp.

Stayed here for one night. Arrived late and checked out early. Wasn't expecting much, but the rooms are clean and the bathrooms are nice. Decent free breakfast as well. Very nice staff at the front desk and restaurant. Free wi-fi to boot.

I stayed here for a dog show, as it was the official hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hot breakfast was a great timesaver. The rooms were very quiet (I had a friend next door and we could not hear voices, TVs, or even an occasional woof.) I think the pet-friendly rooms are down in one wing, which is nice and won't interfere with anyone who isn't keen on critters. My only criticism is that while the bed was clean and extremely comfortable, the TV large and clear, and the room was clean, there ceiling paint was peeling in spots, and there was some cracking in the bathroom ceiling.

We had to change our room from first assigned one as the toilet overflowed immediately upon use, so be sure to check that. The new room was excellent to our comfort needs. the shower was excellent and had a high soap dish which we appreciated being tall people. The breakfast had traditional hotel free breakfast and the standard bland eggs, but everything was fresh and they provided a wonderful salsa for the eggs and sausage. The associated restaurant Roosters was also very satisfactory. Try any of the pizzas for sure. We will definitely stay here when returning to Augusta. Aso was right across from a large Mall and movie theatre with reclining seats!

Excellent Accommodations, great staff, easy check-in and out. Great value for the price. This hotel is conveniently located and I love the coal fired oven baked pizza offered at the restaurant. The coffee was great in the room and the breakfast was sufficient.

Our experience at the Best Western Plus Augusta was very disappointing. Although the location was very convenient to the Civic Center, and we were attending an event, the accommodations were overall poor. The hotel is extremely dated and a few improvements over the last decade cannot hide the fact that the hotel is very old and worn. There are odors through the hotel and the furniture and beds are old and uncomfortable. The desk staff was initially helpful but when our room went uncleaned the last day of our stay, no one seemed to offer much help or a solution. We won't be back.

Augusta Me. was our start and finish of a 1 week trip from there to P.E.I. Canada. Of the 7 days, we stayed in Best Western hotels 5 nights, so you know my criticism is honest and not a mad on for this chain. The first stay our room was Ok, not great but good enough we decided to stay again on our last night of our vacation. First stay, a tour bus was there, and they were having breakfast at the time we went to eat, so we made exception for the poor food and the coffee that was so weak, it should not be called coffee. On our second stay our room was $20-$25 more than the first stay. We checked in early and the room we were give was so bad, it should be assigned to the last weary traveler, with a disclaimer and at a 75% discount. The room was right next to the back door, used by most people on that wing, and the ice cooler was just across the hall. This meant everyone coming in or out could be heard with normal voice, let alone kids that don't have a normal voice. It was 10:30 P.M. before we could consider going to sleep. 5:10 A.M. the ice machine started filling coolers. Went for breakfast, eggs in a pool of water. Sausage in a pool of water, and once again the extremely weak coffee ( had to have hot chocolate). This is by far the worst Best Western I've ever stayed at.

We found the room very clean with all major amenities in it such as coffee maker, fridge, micro-wave, hairdryer and wifi. They have kept up with the standard that we are use to having when using the Best Western Hotel services!

Comfortable room. We had a nice breakfast, good variety and well stocked. A thank you to Fay who took good care of us and made sure that we had everything that we needed. Check in was easy. We would stay again.

Rooms were spacious, and the front desk was accommodating and always had a smile on their face. The front desk manager I believe her name was Sonia was very helpful. Being in the hospitality industry in NYC I can tell you, that you won't regret staying here.

We usually stay at other hotels , but we know Best Western is trying to improve their hotels and image... We thought we would give this hotel a try after reading the reviews.. I alway have high expectations for any Best Western, and while driving we need to take and unexpected break. Of course, we called the closest BW the Augusta Civic Center Inn. Despite our late arrival, and walking in without a reservation the front desk was greatly accommodating. Even providing us with plastic ware to eat the take-out food that came with NO utensils. In the morning the hot breakfast was kept moving even though there was a bus of 100 people leaving at 8 AM the breakfast stayed consistently stocked, with friendly easy going and helpful staff. AMAZING experience!

The hotel is right next to the Civic Center abnd all the stores and restaurants. The room was clean and the people that works there are very friendly. The fridge was very loud throughtout the night. The pool area nice but alittle dated.The hotel seems pet friendly so there was quite a few dogs on our floor. Overall, we had a nice stay at the reduce rate we found on the web.

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the past 5 years. Service has always bee very good. Hotel is located at the right spot for one day's travel from our home in Pennsylvania and subsequent travel to other locations in northern Maine. Plenty of other services such as shopping, food and gas within half mile of hotel.

WE were traveling to this area after a fire destroyed our seasonal home about 25 miles away, we were looking here hoping for as great a stay as our last one visiting our kids on LI, NY. We were sad to see such a small room and one that was considered to be handicapped as my sister who has spent the last 40 years in a wheelchair could not have moved through the room due to it's small size. I notice these things more than the average person but thought wow she would be angry it was called what it was.

This is just the friendliest - Most helpful -Homey place you could find to stay in Augusta Maine.. We stay there for Business Expos and to visit with family down there.. The people at the desk are so helpful, breakfast is a great selection and the woman that does them is the best..

Stayed only one night. Close to restaurants and transportation (bus station and airport). Breakfast food could have been much better but was serviceable. Staff was excellent as were the chocolate chip cookies at check-in.

This place is dynamite. They have a pool that, barring the Maine weather, could be filled with champagne bottles and babes in bikinis. We're talking Puff Daddy video in Central Maine kind of stuff. The dual waffle irons at the breakfast were OFF THE CHAIN. Since we're in Maine, it would be nice to spring for real maple rather than the corn syrup stuff with brown coloring.

Stayed for business event, well maintained property though it is a little older it is aging well and they seem to keep it up. Staff was very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was well done and the keep the area clean and well stocked I would definitely stay here again.

This my home away from home when I am in Augusta. The employees are great and so is the pub. They also have a decent fitness center and outside walking loops. The front desk staff are great and there is enough to do nearby to keep you occupied.

I have stayed here before & think it is a lovely hotel with nice staff. The location & attached restaurant are great. However, it seems they allow guests to smoke marijuana in their rooms. I was shocked. On the night we stayed, the second floor was a green haze which eventually made its way to the first floor. I don't mean a slight smell of smoke... I mean that the hall on that floor was a haze. I don't know how many smokers there were, but there were a lot ! I was thankful we did not have children with us ! I got an instant headache. I asked about it at the front desk & was told there was a marijuana conference going on next door & the guests were staying at this hotel. The clerk told me there was a sign at the road for the conference. I didn't see the sign but would not have expected the indoor smoking even if I had seen it. She said they were legal card carrying smokers. Considering that most hotels do not allow tobacco smoking indoors anymore, I asked if they were supposed to smoke it inside. She stammered for a minute & said she apologized for the inconvenience. I don't think I'll be staying here again because of that issue.

If you have an activity at the Augusta Civic Center, this is the best place to stay. Walk to the Civic Center (close and well lighted). Comfortable and clean rooms, excellent (included), breakfast. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby.

Have stayed at this property several times over the past few years and enjoyed every stay. Rooms are clean, staff is awesome ,friendly and helpful and care. Hotel is right off 95 and next door to the Civic Center. Has attached restaurant and close to the Marketplace Mall across the street for shopping and more restaurants. Staff makes you feel like family and are very attentive.
