The worst thing was the mattress reaking of urine. There was a comfortor on top of the matress, they kind of mademit less smelly when you roll over then other way. But still! Not exactly pleasant. Pillows were too big and hard. Discovered they had put 2 older thin pillows together to a pillow case protector to make them look full and fluffy. Rooms at the back at closest to the motorway, so very noisy. Would not stay again

The rooms are clean and ok for the price. The bathroom is extremely small and hard to navigate for the average person due to room. What we were concerned about was the lady behind the front seat who took a photo of our credit card and drivers licence on her phone for ‘id reasons'. Looked like her personal phone and she said it was their policy…

This is a busy hotel with an odd layout of buildings built over what appeared to be several decades. We were in the newest building. Our room was not large but was comfortable. As we had a late flight the next day, but also some morning plans, we asked for late checkout. They were booked for the next night but were able to extend us until Noon. The neighborhood around it is somewhat run down, but didn't feel unsafe at all.

This was perfect for our family of 5 and breakfast is standout! The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It's was walking distance from a lot of the places we wanted to checkout like the

Spending the New Year in Auckland with my family was made extraordinary by our stay at this wonderful hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean, creating a warm and tranquil atmosphere. The culinary delights served at every meal added an extra layer of enjoyment to our trip. The surrounding streets offered picturesque views, and the hotel's proximity to a public bus station made transportation to the city exceptionally convenient. This strategic location allowed us to explore Auckland's local culture with ease. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, always ready to assist with any issues we encountered. Their attentive service added a comforting touch to our journey, making us feel truly at home.

I stayed there last week for 3 nights for the first time in a while. I had one of the brand new rooms. Clean, spacious and the double/triple glazing kept out all the street noise. I had friends staying in one of the older rooms and they said they were great too. Perfect location for business I needed to conduct. Staff were friendly but had little interaction with them after checking in. Definitely recommend this place.

Our unit was very dark and dingy - under the stairwell and had a funny smell. We also had scaffolding outside our bedroom window. First night there and I had to call the office to come and change my sheets/pillowcases as they were dirty. Missing Cutlery and coffee mugs - the unit sleeps 3 so should have been 3 of everything but there wasn't. Floor - something had been removed/remodelled in the kitchen and the floor wasn't even This resulted in my daughter cutting her foot on the metal edge. Several windows had broken catches - the bathroom window couldn't be closed. The curtains didn't block out the outside light which was on all night outside our unit making it very hard to sleep. Construction - we weren't told that the motels were being upgraded, tradesmen worked from 8am to 6pm using power tools. This was very annoying when you are on holiday and trying to relax. The queen bed was extremely uncomfortable as it was 2 single mattresses pushed together. To get into the shower box, it was quite a high step and I didn't like that the towels were on a shelf above the toilet. I certainly would not recommend this place to anyone, we must have had the worst unit in the whole place. Our unit certainly did not look like any of the photos they have advertised on their website. I also didn't appreciate having to pay an inflated rate just because there was a concert on in town.

All advertising said said pay on arrival. They tried to take payment out before arrival without notice. Then when they couldn't get a hold of me canceled my booking less than an hour before I tried to check in (at 4pm). When trying to reason with the staff, they were rude telling us it was not their problem. They had already on-sold the room, leaving my friends and I stranded on a night when Auckland had no accommodation available due to 3 sold out concerts happening. It spoiled a long awaited weekend.

Great location, close to Mt Hobson easy walking distance to Mt Hobson Fish and chip and fantastic Malaysian restaurant down the street. Older hotel but clean and comfortable they are doing renovations .

Please note property is currently undergoing renovations and building of additional suites. Renovation is not mentioned on Website.Definitely not modern or luxurious as stated on Website. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.Good enough location

We were a group of 9 people (2 adults and 7 youth) and we had booked a 6 bedroom and a 4 bedroom apartment. Upon arriving at the Best Western we were advised that we had been given a free room upgrade from a 4 bedroom to a 7 bedroom suite. It was fantastic with enough room for everyone to join in together in one of the apartments for meals etc. In both apartments we had a main bedroom downstairs with kitchen, bathroom etc and then upstairs were the additional beds with own bathroom. Kitchens were big enough for us to cook and make lunches for our day trips. Everything was clean and tidy. The only unfortunate thing was that the 6 bedroom apartment had a lingering smell of fish emanating from the fridge but it was clean and we managed to ignore it.

Guttering broken causing flooding in room, no communication from management, had to phone them to find out if we could get another room. Replacement room had a leaking fridge and tv didn't work properly

The only thing this place has going for it is the location! Pool is advertised on internet, and in the actual guest book inthe room...THERES NO POOL SINCE 2020! Utensils broke, lights hardly had bulbs, pots didnt fit on the hob both too big! Noisey as hell between walls to the next apartment/room, hearing a kid scream all night and the neighbours TV wasnt pleasant. Staff all bar 1 were rude. The front door handle fell off in our hands when we closed the door. Tv kept disconnecting. Oven sucked, no instructions to say the timer needs to be on to make oven go or what the weird symbols stood for, clearly not a NZ oven. Overall a crappy stay, and it ruined our trip

Party of 4 stayed. Layout of the room was good for our group and plentiful free parking. Staff was friendly and accommodating. 10 min walk to the mall. Access to room inconvenient, no restaurant/pool.

The location was perfect for our reasons to travel, the room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. The price was reasonable given the location. The staff were incredibly helpful. Would happily stay again.

We were skeptical about booking due to the negative comments found about this accommodation, however, we were pleasantly surprised. Negative comments about staff may just be a misunderstanding because English is not their first language. Room had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and we did not hear any road noise during out stay. There is no pool but they told me this when I booked and we were not booking for pool. Location was perfect for all that we wanted to do.

Reasonably priced accommodation, beds and linen were clean but the rooms are very run down and our bathroom smelt like a public toilet. Bathroom was not cleaned to the standard you would expect. Also very noisy and disruptive at times, building work is currently taking place also however there was none taken place while we stayed. Not ideal for our family unfortunately, so would not return.

The rooms were quite small for the number of quests, no where to sit for all the guests to have breakfast The kitchen was more of a kitchenette Building construction made parking hard and was noisy during the day. Place needs a waterblast on the stairs Lots of WINZ customers there

Was woken up at 2am by the fire alarm. Someone had set it off in one of the rooms. Then witnessed a fight. The room was clean and tidy, but we won't go back. Basically did not get any sleep and was worried about what was going to happen next. I tried to explain what had happened to the receptionist, but I got the impression this is a common occurrence.

The website claims that the rooms have been recently refurbished? The unit I stayed in was very tired and was in need of renovation. And it was single glazed. Also, they advertise that they have an onsite restraunt. They do, but it's closed. I won't be staying again.

The room we were given was not as per the picture that had been booked. Had travelled with a very expensive vehicle that had been professionally valeted & cleaned before the trip. The vehicle was being used for a special event. As such, it had been asked if the vehicle would be secure being parked on the premises when booking was made. Was assured over email that it would be. We were woken up at 8am by wood chipping on the property. We had also requested a 12pm check out time as we had been travelling very far and needed to have enough rest before the rest of our journey. No one had informed us that there would be loud work occurring on the property and that machinery would be close to the vehicle parked. Upon leaving the hotel, we saw the vehicle had been completely covered in debris from the wood chipping. Informed them of the bad experience. No satisfactory solution was offered when we informed them the vehicle would now have to be cleaned again before the event. Offering to "blow" and wipe it down was not good enough. No follow up was received. Had to follow up ourselves. Were told that a discounted rate for next visit. That was not a solution as we will never stay there again. A follow up call was made to offer half a refund for our stay. That does not cover the cost of the vehicle cleaning, new scratches on the vehicle paint work and inconvenience we have occurred. Worst hotel experience I have ever had.

The rooms were spacious and I found them clean, comfy beds and good water pressure & good wifi. The location of the property was easy to find & very central. Parking could have been a little better. We stayed in a downstairs 1 -bedroom, you could hear doors shutting above and chatting. But that was at a reasonable hour. There is no water in their Swimming Pool.

Not one at check in-waiting 30 mins, staff argued about the bill. Still have no GST invoice. Offered free breakfast then tried to charge for it. Massive attitude problem. Colleague had same problem and was dragged out of bed at 11.30 to pay account

Its easier from ur parked car to inside ur house instead ur going all the way around... Omg horrid place and shocking service i swear to god if it wasnt paid for id be out of here Extremely appalled Nd unhappy

We were stranded in Auckland due to Covid 19 for nearly two weeks. BW Newmarket Inn offered us a very good accomodation at a very fair price. The staff was very kind, skilled and helpful in this very difficult times. The hotel is in a nice neighbourhood offering easy acces to parks, groceery stores major transport routes. We thank all at BW Newmarket Inn very much. You guys do an awfull good job.

I was stuck here bcoz my flight to Germany was cancelled, the staff was king enough to offer me a hot chocolate and comfort me, which is extremely warm during this critic time.New Zealand need the front line works like you!

AVOID AT ALL COST. Staff treated me like a criminal because I arrived from overseas and falsely believed I had COVID-19. The moment I informed her I was under self isolation she was rude and provided absolutely zero assistance. Provided me with the worse room possible. Right next to the road!!!! Asked for another room and receptionist blatantly lied in my face and made her own rules up about isolation and immediately offered me a refund. Had no interest in me as a customer. Even a walk in customer after me left because of how rude she was. Clearly she doesn't want any customers. I just left and didn't want to stay there. Rather spend my money elsewhere. She will regret turning away 2 sets of customers, the motel was empty already. Good luck surviving this recession.

Rooms were large, spacious and sparkling clean. Staff friendly. Pool was an added bonus, however water would have been nicer warm. Stayed 10 nights. Only problem was roudy neighbours late at night when bands were in town.

Although clean rooms, there were 5 of those teeny tiny milk pods, so you could only have 2 hot drinks. beds comfy.. but pool was digusting middle of summer, the pool is the attraction. water pressure, shocking litteraly dripping out of shower head.

We departed from the motel early and a pair of pants got left in the wardrobe. When I contacted them, they said they tried to call however I did not receive any calls or notifications from them. She said she doesn't know if they still have them.. I said I would wait on the phone while she looked for them and she hung up on me. I have not been able to get through to them since it just calls through to voice mail. I left a voice mail, and they still haven't got back to me...

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! Easily the WORST Stay in my life. The lady at reception was rude and unhelpful. Paid for breakfast for 2 days and received nothing but attitude and then she kept our $200 bond for the room allegedly smelling of cigarette smoke when WE DON'T EVEN SMOKE!! Awful people, awful service.

Hideous layout no lounge. Kitchen sink is ridiculous small. Unit is above the owners residence and she requested we keep the noise down. It was early evening and we have children. The pool closed at 7pm it was hot. The gate says 9pm. Far too expensive for what we paid $245.00 worth $180 if that. Beds comfy and very clean. Cooling only in 1 room. Definitely will not go back.

Not a walkable neighborhood, the staff is not knowledgeable about the local area, the shower water pressure was uncomfortablely low at times, the hotel offers no breakfast on weekends although they advertise a continental breakfast, there's no accessible drinking water (the tap water is chlorinated), the hotel allows smoking on the premises which wafts into the rooms and other guests are often loud. There are far superior accommodations in Auckland that are more central, convenient and comfortable at the same price.

We recently stayed here for convenience and because the reviews were good - whilst the room was spacious it was very tired with worn tiling and a leaking shower door. The cooking facilities were very used and needed replacement. The beds were reasonably comfortable but the unit was quite dusty. The reception people were friendly and helpful. As we have used BW properties in other countries we felt for the price this was quite expensive given the tiredness of the room and facilities. Maybe other rooms were in better repair.

The asian lady I spoke to on the phone the day before we arrived was really rude. The lady that was on reception when we arrived was really polite and accommodating even though we were given the wrong room. The bathroom had a strong smell of mould and there was stains on the pillow cases.

I stayed in there for a night and it was real good. The room and bathroom were very clean. Heat pump facility was also there and I had a real good night sleep. Overall, a nice stay at affordable price!

I stayed with my family in this hotel.very nice hotel . Clean environment, clean rooms. Room having basic kitchen with gas , utensils , cups, glasses and some basic things so that u can cook and prepare ur breakfast. Very fast check in and check out. If u r not looking for some high class hotel then u can easily go for it.

Went for the friday jam's an awesome concert helped, had a brilliant weekend in a clean spacious room, so much better than the last hotel we stayed at in Auckland, clean well set up kitchenette. With a free midday checkout from a very friendly reception.

From the cracked and chipped floor tiles to the leaking fridge, myriad holes in the bedcovering and blood smears on the bathroom door, this is definitely NOT a four star hotel!! The kitchen bench had a shoddy piece of wood covering a hole where a cooktop used to be and the cups provided were chipped. Both bulbs above the bed were blown. When we asked for information about transport options in the area we were told to Google it. Not an experience we'd repeat, especially at $280 a night!!!

Great location with very clean and tidy rooms and friendly staff. You have both a train station and buses within 200m walk and some great little restaurants within easy walking. The room did have a broken light, missing cabinet door in the bathroom but was otherwise faultless. Would definitely stay there again especially with the access to Aucklands big venues being so close.

Great service and value. Fast service. The person at the front desk was extremely helpful when our other hotel had fallen through. Couldn't recommend BW highly enough. Great choice of rooms and excellent amenities

Actually as Motels go this place isn't bad, and if I had wanted to stay in a motel then I would have been more than happy. As it was I wanted somewhere with on on-site restaurant specifically. According to the Best Western website which boasts of a restaurant in two separate places on the page, this fit the bill perfectly. But upon arriving after a long day wanting nothing more than a quick meal and to crash out, I find that the 'restaurant' is actually just a breakfast room and I have to go out in search of food elsewhere. Very very annoying. As a motel it would get four stars. But when I paid for a place with the advertised facilities and arrive to find they blatantly lied in the description, I think two is generous.

Our experience was great and excellent breakfast option was good. Normally we get our own breakfast but price offered was good . Because no rooms were available for our final stay in Auckland we had to move next door, but came back for breakfast. By staying out of CBD we saved in car parking costs and can use buses easily

Stayed here previously and think our room must be on the slightly dated side. Was adequate for our overnight trip but wouldn't stay any longer unless in an updated room. Bench was in the middle of the room, and plugs were in odd location for the appliances provided

Great place to stay and near to city centre without the traffic. Big unit with a spa and two TV's to use. Separate bedroom was ideal for us and having air conditioning in the bedroom made sleeping easy and restful -- in fact we didn't wake up until 8.45am.

The location of the Lexington was within 5 minutes walking distance of downtown Jackson. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean. Beds were comfortable and noise level was minimal. I was traveling with family and we all were able to get a good nights sleep after touring the Grand Tetons and walking through downtown Jackson.

This property is reliably good which is why I stay here.Rooms are comfortable & location is handy to the City & local restaurants.It is a popular property so book ahead.The property offers meals which I have not tried.

After booking for a 1 night business stay this clean but incredibly tired hotel is showing signs of needing a MAJOR renovation job, tired decor and missing cabinetry handles along with " patched up benchtops" (where chopping boards are strategically glued over holes where cooktops once were) to precarious series of wooden steps arranged to gain access into a shower - truly horrible! For $170 + a night it is well over priced. Couple this with a food service that only offers breakfast (with an in room price list scratched over with vivid marker to remove the options no longer available) and you have the makings of a truly forgettable stay. This leaves little to day except the items in the bathroom that aren't covered in surface rust are dated and of doubtful quality. Sadly it was the only place with a vacancy - will hire a car next time and sleep in that.

The room was specious and close to the railway station but noisy at night due to located on the main road and day time you can hear the train/ metro. The staff were friendly. Close to cafe and a few restaurants.

I was booked here by my travel agent whilst on business in Auckland. For me a business hotel needs to have a good bed, a proper kitchen so that I could cook rather than eat out, good internet, and a good shower. The bed was amazingly comfortable, the shower was amazingly awful.... The kitchen facilities was just a microwave and the internet was possible. I've certainly been to better places at a similar price point.

Internet is at single digit speed at 1am. Slower than old dial up. Lights not working was not repaired. Front desk staff never smile. Give me a big sign when I complaint as if I am at fault. Gave a hair dryer to replace the non working hair dryer hard wired to the wall.

I had the misfortune of staying here in room 2. Well over $200 for an unclean, old and tired room with many broken facilities. Spa bath had broken or missing jets, ranchsliders had broken safety catches. The noise from other rooms and the stairs made for a poor night's sleep. Stay clear unless you have money that needs wasting on a poor standard of motel.

I booked an upgraded superior room for an extra price. I was given a standard room. I have now contacted the hotel 4 times and they have done nothing but send me a "thank you for your feedback" reply instead of refunding the amount I was overcharged.

. Nice clean tidy and crisp rooms. Friendly staff helped out with an early check in for exhausted kids after a red eye. Room was scrupulously clean, relatively contemporary, very comfortable and we'll appointed full scal cooking and fridge. Opening directly onto back lawn and swimming area was so much more than expected from a city motel. Super convenient to the city, Cornwell park and motorways

We booked this 'hotel' for my son (14yrs) to recover from surgery to his leg- as it was close to the hospital. I will tell the story as it happened.We had seen that our selection of room said a 'king' or double and single- therefore we emailed and requested the later. We had an email back- that had a highlighted block saying 'request approved'- so I didn't read further through the small print, and booked it. When we checked in we were allocated to a room with a kingsize bed, we returned and showed a woman )who turned out to be the owner) the email- she repeated over and over and over again- you get what you pay for. We also highlighted that the restaurant was 'shut for Christmas' on the 20th Dec, and that we had paid (and chosen the 'hotel' based on this, a refund was made eventually after phone calls from the booking.com tool I used (whilst my son was in surgery). No apology- as I then had to leave him to get him food. Eventually we were shown to a room with two beds. Over 2 days later we received a call from the receptionist (not owner) to say that our room was empty. After they became aware we were in another room, we had 3 knocks in an afternoon- re servicing the room (despite the do not disturb tag). The room itself was a NZ average motel facility, not in accordance with other best westerns. I had to park 'anywhere' making it difficult to get the wheelchair in and out, rather than allocated closest to room. It was supposed to be a disabled room, and the sink was correct height, but the extra bed in a small room (all like this have clearly put extra beds into standard rooms), but the beds were two high for him to get into- even for me at 168cm, they were soft.The accommodation gets excessive traffic noise from the motorway beside, and my son was bothered by the repair noises from next door (which were fixing a very noisy heat pump). People regularly had to pass the window/door to get to the garden- which we needed open due to humidity. There were ripped curtains which were replaced. In short not a great stay, I would say it is convenient location,and would probably be fine for a overnight stay.

The room was itself was OK. In the lower end of what I would expect from a BW hotel. The staff in the reception was however both not very knowledgeable nor helpful. The answer on help with local bus communication and shuttle bus questions was "you can google it"..

Booked in here for a night with colleagues, admittedly up there in pricing but the rooms were superb, comfortable bed and excellent bathroom facilities- and I travel a LOT. Breakfast was a very good variety and very nice and for a motel so close to a major road, I didn't hear much road noise so pleasantly surprised. Would stay here again definately.

Stayed here twice and had different room types each time. Both were good and we really enjoyed the room on the side of the hotel that is attached to the check-in area side, as it was a little more spacious and even had a loft area with extra beds that we were not expecting. Also, we knew we would be coming in a little late so we called ahead and the staff was very accommodating about meeting us for a late check-in. We pulled up and were immediately greeted warmly even though we were the last ones to check in. Thanks to the staff for being so nice! We enjoyed the location as it appears to be in a quiet part of town and a short walk to the train if you want to go to city center. I took the train and it is a breeze. I also took an Uber to city center and it is about 12-13 NZD. Would stay again!

Firstly the room was very clean. We were looking forward to sitting down in the restaurant for dinner and a wine after a three and a half drive but were informed the restaurant is only for breakfast which is not advertised on the website which was very disappointing. I told them we would like to book breakfast for 7.30 because we had an early start but was informed the restaurant was not open on weekends which I found unbelievable. And they were not there before 8 a.m. I asked what I could do then? They would deliver a continental breakfast that night. We would not stay here again.

This is a very average motel and very overpriced for what it delivers. Our room (room 2) was supposed to be delux: there was no hand soap, no safe in room, security chains broken or missing on 3 of the three entry doors, batteries missing from TV remote, had to ask for a frying pan, spa tub was of particular interest when booking but was not working, room and furnishings starting to show wear, main room had no heat or a/c (heat pump in bedroom only) , bathroom had no counter space at all, beware of hot water (dangerously hot), on site restaurant is a joke (only opened for breakfast at extra cost), very limited TV channels with no sky/guide, and... at time of checkout we asked for some discount due to spa tub not working, but were told we could have moved to another room (which is questionalble since they were fully booked)... and at checkout we were surprised to be told there was a 2% surcharge for using a credit card, something which was not stated anywhere on web site or during booking... however, the clerk did waive the surcharge as "compensation for spa being out of order"... we had planned on staying here two more times for 4 nights each as my wife was undergoing radiation therapy at a nearby clinic, but after this experience we cancelled those two bookings.

After a dreadful visit to a disgusting hotel down the road, Best Western had 1 room left which I very gladly accepted! They were so lovely, friendly and attentive - making sure I had everything I needed. Would absolutely stay here again.

We chose this place for accommodation as we wished for a couple of days In Auckland to use the Rail network as this was something we had not done for some time. CBD accommodation is not really suitable if you need car parking without getting ripped off for it. This Best Western is super close to the Remuera rail station and also if needed on good bus routes. The room we had was well sized, tv in lounge plus another in main bedroom. Would we stay again; Yes location was convenient for what we wanted and unit was nice & clean.

We loved our stay here. We could have our privacy in the bedroom and extended family could sleep in beds in the lounge. TVs with sky in both rooms. Shower with excellent pressure. VERY comfortable queen / king bed. Private, quiet, central, pool looked great for the summer.

The location of Best Western Newmarket Inn & Suites is amazing. You can easily travel anywhere in Auckland. The staff were very friendly and went out their way to help. This hotel is great value for money. They offer quality rooms and facilities at reasonable prices.

When you are travelling, and particularly when its on business for long periods, its really important that the neccisities like a bed and shower are done well. You also want the ability to cook and have the equipment to do so. The rooms are spacious, with dressers and a couch. The bed is top range and probabaly one of the best I've had in my travels. Spotlessly clean, and most importantly, nothing is too much trouble. Great owners who have no hesitation in meeting any reasonable request . ( for more bedding, kitchen equipment. They have been really flexible in dealing with changing needs and centralised billing to company.

Myself and my wife stayed her while visiting the racecourse. Our first reaction was “wow”. The size of the room was huge. A lovely nights sleep even though it was very hot. Because the room was large and a fan in the room we didn't feel it too much. Thanks

Very easy to get to off the motorway, staff are friendly and the room was great, second time we have stayed and it has become our go to place when visiting Auckland. Having parking right there and most things are handy to hotel location.

When we checked in, we were told when breakfast was available. No mention of price. The flyer in the room also didn't mention price. Maybe I shouldn't have assumed that breakfast is complimentary, but that is common in the states. My advice, make it clear that breakfast does cost money. The room itself was nothing fancy but did the trick. It got a little cold, but we are used to that being from Minnesota. It was a little noisy being on a major road, so if those sounds bother you, beware. Reception was pleasant and everything was clean.

My recent visit was as expected a comfortable experience with a updated room.Staff were friendly , helpful & welcoming.As I have written previously the location is good within handy driving of restaurants & a supermarket.

Travelling with a family of 5 means that options are limited and we found accommodation in Auckland expensive. We found the Best Western Newmarket on Tripadvisor and thought we would give it a try, Location was just outside of the central city but it is near public transport. Some attractions, such as the zoo and MOTAT, are nearby, as is the main shopping centre. It is only a short walk down the road to an area filled with takeaway and restaurants. Parking is FREE - something that seems rare in Auckland (Hotels seem reasonably priced in the city centre until you add the costs of $30+ a day parking!). Parking at the BW Newmarket was easy and at the door - though I would suspect that it could get tight if the hotel was full or hosting a conference. The room itself was large and was roomy enough for our family of 5. there were 2 beds in the main living area which ended up being sitting areas as they faced the TV. The bedroom had a single bed and a queen size. There was another TV in here as well. The kitchen was big enough although the small table wasn't really big enough for 5. Easy to make do though. Generally a comfortable design. However, overall the room was let down by its age and state of repair. It basically needs a refurbishment. The beds were unfortunately worn and sagged in the middle. Really they need replacing. The furniture and fittings were dated and showing their age. Kitchen cupboard doors didn't close properly and needed repairing. The shower screen leaked badly sending streams of water over the floor and into the toilet. This was rusting the frame and had warped the door so much that it didn't close any more. The bathroom also didn't have an extractor fan so after a shower it was quickly steamed up. Staff were friendly and available. If the price is right and you don't mind the a few annoyances, then BW Newmarket is fine.

Main South Road noise one side, freight train noise the other side, no double glazing, very noisey. There was a draft of some sort draft (even with all windows closed) causing the blinds to gently hit the window frame constantly. Sagging mattresses very uncomfortable. Two broken latches on windows not safe. Windows left unlocked after room cleaning. Room was cleaned well. Breakfast looked wholesome enough, but a very amateur attempt.

We recently stayed at the Best Western Newmarket Inn & Suites and were very impressed. Friendly and helpful staff, free parking, clean and modern hotel rooms, comfy beds and a handy location. We had a room that overlooked the pool/grass area and found it to be really quiet with no road noise. We will definitely be back!

I stayed for two nights. On first impression the room was clean. Some of the fittings in the kitchen were old and could do with replacing but it seemed clean. However, I found hairs (pubic?) on the bathroom floor and the most concerning thing which I noticed only the following morning was a pill on the floor (see picture). What concerns me here is the fact I was in a family room (there was a large bed and a single) so someone may have had a young child in the room who could have swallowed that pill. I disposed of it. The staff were helpful and friendly. One small note if you stay - the power switch is not well marked and either the person prior to me or me turned it off so the fridge stopped working which was a pain.

Hubby and I have stayed in some shockers along that Great South Road when visiting Auckland and I have to say that the Best Western is in fact the best. I booked the basic room and I was a great size, was clean and spacious, good curtains to block out light, air con and bed was huge and comfy. Hubby used the wifi, he made no comment so must have been fine. Sure Great South Road is a busy road and yes there is road noise. If you are a light sleeper maybe use earplugs. Hotel is on the edge of Newmarket so there are restaurants nearby but you need to drive a few minutes to them. There is a big school opposite so I wouldn't walk at night. Reading some reviews people thought this place was closer to Auckland central and clearly didn't do their research. Not the hotels fault. So we would definitely stay here again.

The room and facilities were pleasant enough, but my first night was ruined by a number of the rooms (including my immediate neighbours) being occupied by a party of drunken lads who were shouting, arguing, and partying in the corridors, carpark, and throughout the site, very loudly until 4:45am. Not really the hotel's fault - but it tainted my view of the place. Thankfully they were gone the second night, but the motels location with the Great South Road on one side, and adjacent to a railway line and the freeway on the other meant there was constant noise. The walls were quite thin, so there was also the background drone of conversation and/or TV noise from adjacent rooms. It was convenient for my needs, but I will probably not be going back there by choice. I felt it was expensive for what it offered.

Had a night away with a friend and due to an event in Auckland, we had to book here. WOW.. we had room 52 which was stunning. 1x King Bed, 1x double bed, upstairs 3x single beds and a bathroom. We were shocked by how awesome and spacious the room was. Really great layout and 2x Bathrooms and 3x TV's. Awesome location, the fantastic time we had including a swim in the pool. Highly recommend this hotel that is currently going through upgrades. I don't think all of the rooms were are nice as ours (Due to the ongoing upgrades) but we will be back and the service was fantastic. Great Value for Money. Free WIFI and parking. Close to shops and Restaurants.

We had a flight delay and didn't arrive until close to midnight and found the front desk locked and closed. We rang a bell and someone told us how to find our key and room. The room was very hot and we had trouble figuring out how to turn the air on and found that the phone in the room did not work so we had to go back downstairs and ring the bell again for help. We found this hotel to not be consistent to brand at all. Although the room is very comfortable, the breakfast was not included, the walls were paper thin and we were kept awake one night with loud next door neighbors, the pool was disgusting, and there was never anyone around when we needed anything. There wasn't even an ice machine on the property and it was hit or miss if our room was cleaned. One positive is that there was a washer/dryer available.

An affordable option slightly out of the main centre of Auckland but easily reachable by train in 10 minutes. The nearest station is Remuera is the closest station but the 10-15 minute wak to Newmarket will save you money. There are shops and eateries close by and the motel offers a breakfast onsite for $12. The room was clean, had free wifi, fridge, microwave, TV and air conditioning.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning worked quietly and well. It had a fridge and microwave oven in the kitchenette, as well as cooking and eating utensils. The hotel has an informal restaurant serving a tasty cooked breakfast. The train line was nearby, but I was never woken by the trains. The cleaners changed my towels every day, even though I hung them on the rail.

This place is great. Got a 2 bedroom suite. Kids had own room upstairs with aircon an ensuite, while parents had down stairs with king size bed. There's a kitchenette with all that you need. Pool. Restaurants in walking distance, and a bus stop right across the road that will get you in town in 10 minuets. Staff were great very clean, would easily stay here again.

Hotel location is fantastic - on main road directly across from big shopping mall, room was nothing fancy but was very clean, good size, comfy bed, mini fridge. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

We received a good welcome and were booked in a nice ground floor one bedroom room which was clean and had everything we needed. The location was great being handy to local attractions and restaurants. The service was just what we needed, but what we didn't need was the noise. Not only was the room unsoundproofed, but the staff would shout from one end of the passageway to the other. we are shift workers and used to sleeping at different times of the day, but that proved difficult here

Located in a neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, there are no shortage of places for breakfast. There are plenty of parking lots available. We checked in with no issue even after midnight (due to a flight delay). The operator left our keys and instructions in a locked mailbox under the dial-box. Room is big with hot shower and air conditioning. Room also comes with a full kitchenette with microwave. The compound is also wheelchair friendly.

We booked a standard apartment - 2 bedrooms on the ground floor. The room really had 1 bedroom and the other beds were in the lounge room. Beds were comfortable, rooms were spacious and comfortable enough. Bathroom was large and the shower pressure was great. Worst part was that the rooms are not very soundproof and people are wheeling their suitcases past often. Saying that - if you are staying in the bedroom - you can shut the door putting another door between you and the noise. I'm a light sleeper and didn't have an issue. The location was great - a short 5-10 min drive to the city, plenty of shops and things nearby in Newmarket. Would stay here again for easy access to everything and the convenience of 2 separate sleeping areas when staying with family.

I Booked a room here for the weekend,,, its been cancelled by the hotel last minute.. not very impressed been as we booked months ago... warning to all travellers.. look for a more reliable hotel in future!!!

Newmarket is 5 mins away from city center, a perfect place to stay if you dont want to pay for car parking. Room and bathroom was of decent size. Clean and comfortable. All the things that you need for a stay, a small kitchen with microwave. Wifi speed was ok. Staff was friendly but had no knowledge and information about the city, if you want to ask them about what to do and see in the city. Could hear people talking and snoring in the other room the whole night. Rooms are noisy.

Very nice hotel a bit our of the center of the city but close to tram service so getting into city is no problem. No breakfast on Sundays which is a bit of a hassle as no close place around and I had no car. Hotel staff were lovely and helpful--Lola was one of the nicest people I have met in hotels. rooms are adequate but no one comes to Auckland to stay in a hotel room. Can be noise (typical of BW hotels in my opionion.)

Stayed here for 3 nights. We had a room that faced this nice courtyard area. Found the beds to be very comfortable. Staff very friendly. We loved the fact that it was a quick 10 minute drive into the city. Or a simple walk to the train station for a quick 10 minute ride or so into the city as well.

We stayed here for 2 nights while we we attended a wedding. Great location with car park. Cheap uber into the city. Room was dated but very clean and comfortable. Staff were lovely. Would definitely stay again. Extremely affordable for Auckland!

First trip to Auckland, New Zealand had no clue where to book lodging. Best Western Newmarket Inn and Suites is a ways out of Auckland. But the train is just down the block and around the corner, a very easy commute into Auckland. Our room faced onto Great Southern Way, view was of the grassy playing field of the Dilworth school. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Close to great cafes, grocery store is about 15 minute walk. We arrived in the wee hours of the morning room key pick up was a push of the intercom. We were very pleased with our choice

We have stayed here many times. Handy location, about 15 mins to CBD, 5 mins to Alexandra Park and ASB Stadium. Two bedroom units are actually one bedroom but, with beds in the living room. If advertised as a two bedroom then it should have a separate living area. Has pretty much everything you would need. We had full fridge/freezer and oven/stove top but, housekeeping needs to improve. Obvious they only do a cosmetic clean and due for a more thorough clean. Our room was serviced daily but, not until about 5pm! Take more staff on for holiday periods because that it ridiculous. That being said, would recommend overall.

We stayed here last week and the place was ok. The place is very strategic and close to food shops and even to bus stops. They have parking spaces so you do not need to worry about the car park. Free tea and coffee are available inside the room. However, it would have been better if the shelves on top of the kitchen bench was placed higher to have more space and brightness in the kitchen while using the sink. We stayed here for 2 nights. The water pressure in the shower was not that great though. But I still liked the bath.

Out of all the accomodation options across Auckland, The Best Western Newmarket offers by far the best customer service! Nothing is ever an issue, the team are more than happy to help you enjoy your stay whether it be additional wifi, an extra blanket or help picking dinner options. Comfortable rooms and a delicious buffet breakfast, travel never felt so homey! Highly recommend!

High quality bed was very cosy, and the double glazed windows ensured you don't hear much outside noise, however there isn't much noise insulation between the rooms as we heard every little noise from adjoining rooms.

This was a one night stay thank god on route to Norfolk i realise why you are ask to pay the full amount before you see the room £150 a night for a mouldy bathroom everything very worn we were told it was in need of an upgrade but this was not reflected in the price over looking a 24hr supermarket noise all night ,if you have the miss fortune of having to stay here view the room before you pay .

Arrived in Auckland on a very wet and rainy day. Hotel was nice and clean, much more spacious than I had imagined. Small kitchen was equipped with pots, pans and utensils if you want to cook in. The ladies at the reception were very friendly during checkin and checkout and happy to advise when I needed travelling directions.

Friendly and helpful staff create a great atmosphere. The motel is well situated and a very convenient place to stay. Lovely cooked breakfast available in the cafe. Our unit had recently been redecorated and looked welcoming.

Comfortable and clean, this motel is easy to access from the motorway, and is within easy walking distance from the Newmarket shopping area. Staff were always helpful and friendly. Would be happy to return.

The Staff were excellent and the pictures on the web booking page didn't tell the whole story. A very comfortable room with really friendly staff. Easy to find and get too even without a GPS. I just wish that the restaurant was open on Sundays and of an evening as well.

Check in and out was easy with no hassle. The room my partner and I had was clean, bathroom was good. Kitchen didn't have a sink which was a problem as couldn't have drinking water or fill the jug up. Road noise kept me awake for most of the night and very noisy people in the other rooms. The walls between the rooms are too thin and can hear the occupants in them. Car parking was good, felt secure. Bed was alright.

Couldn't fault the room, the staff or the facilities. Also very conveniently located, with the most delicious Thai restaurant just down the road! I'm changing all my future Auckland bookings to stay here!!!

One night business stay and all was fine. Room was warm, clean and bed comfortable. Everything you need is here and easy location for Auckland showground. If traffic noise from nearby highway may be a concern for some.

We went to Auckland for the weekend and to pick up my daughter from Aus. After searching a lot of places in the city we decided on this place due to its location, price and free car parking. The location is great for getting to and from the airport, the city and easy access to the motorways. Our unit (24) was great for three adults with enough room to be comfortable. There was a big step into the shower which is a little difficult as I have bad knees but it is easily manageable and the pressure is to die for. Beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well set up. The Inn is between a main road and a railway line but the noise is minimal. The two ladies we spoke to at reception were excellent and nothing was a problem, great service.We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely staff. Good size room very comfortable bed, very clean, Close to shopping and motorways. Will stay again.. It is quiet and safe, Only things I would like to see mirror in bedroom and a hook in bathroom Big plus the bathroom is large and the shower is big and walk in.

My boyfriend and I spent 5 nights at this motel as a part of our holiday in New Zealand. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, particularly how the staff were always friendly and helpful and the short walk to the train station to the CBD. Housekeeping was always thorough and the room was spacious and very clean. We also loved the bathroom but thought the shower was interesting because it was elevated. Only thing was that it got a bit noisy as you are near a main road, but thats to be expected. The walls are also a bit thin as you can hear people talking or televisions in adjoining rooms but for the most part the noise was fine (and I am a light sleeper so trust me on this). Decent price for the quality and service of the motel would recommend.

This was a repeat visit & I was not disappointed.The room was comfortable & well appointed.I will stay here again when Im next in Auckland.What more can I add each time I have stayed my stay has been enjoyable.

So this hotel is fantastic for exploring Auckland. Train station with very frequent schedules to the city centre is located very close by. Staff are so helpful. Rooms large and clean with excellent wifi! Very reasonable cost per night ! Will stay again!

Chose this hotel after speaking to Lola on the phone, such a pleasant lady and answered all my questions. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was excellent, plenty of hot water pressure in the shower. Kitchenette was well catered, even enjoyed having real milk supplied. Parking was free and in motel grounds. Very easy access to CBD Auckland. Try and book the end unit upstairs then you don't get people walking pass. You can hear the road noise, that is to be expected on Great south road. Handy to shops, walking distance. Overall enjoyable stay. onsite laundry for travelers.

We stayed her while exhibiting at the Food Show at ASB Showground's. Perfect place to stay as it is not far from the showground's and it is relatively quiet. We were surprised with the modern 1 bedroom unit. they were clean and very warm. would highly recommend staying here.Staff were very welcoming and friendly. a couple of small things to mention though, the walls are quite thin so you can her the conversations and TV from next door. I don't recommend the restaurant onsite, there is no ambiance and no real food it is just re heated items and it is not very clean looking inside. I would stay here again for sure.

Stayed here on our last night in Auckland to watch the first All Blacks v Lion rugby test match . Had an apartment in Auckland city centre prior to this for 3 nights but unfortunately it was unavailable on our last night so forced to relocate to the Best Western Newmarket Inn and Suites . Didn't know what to expect moving to the Best Western Newmarket but turned out to be very nice . Although not central there is a station 5 minute walk away then around a 20 minute train journey and your back in the CBD. Staff very helpful , couple of restaurants close by ( Asian Cuisine ) . We had a Twin studio which was spacious , clean and with all the necessary mod cons . Staff here very friendly and helpful . Good alternative if you cannot find anything suitable in the CBD . I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

I chose this hotel to stay for a night, and I must say the reviews do not reflect how bad the hotel is. It is far from the city, there is nothing to do in the neighborhood at night, the rooms are outdated and smell. The rooms face the driveway, it is technically a motel. My wife and I were so disappointed we entered the room, check the status of the room and left the hotel. Not worth 150 nzd per night.

I chose this hotel as our out of town getaway, we specifically sought out a place with a spa bath as we very rarely get away for a break and decided the money we would spend on a room would be worth it for the luxury of a spa, when we arrived the hairdryer and heater were not working in the bathroom so we had the young lady at the reception come to take a look she advised us that unfortunately the maintainence crew were not available that day I told her I was not too concerned about the hairdryer or heater I was just concerned the spa may not work later on she assured us that it would it would just need to be filled past the jet holes then turned on to operate, later that night on our retur from dinner out I ran our spa up to just past the jets and turned on the dial only to find it didnt work :( this was so very disapointing I knw to alot it would seem a minor issue but when I dont get much of an opportunity or money to go anywhere it really did ruin my stay, the rest of the room was in a very tidy and inviting state, the bed was great and when I spoke to the lovely Lola in reception about the spa she didnt hesitate to refund me part cost of the room and she assured me they would get right onto the issue so that at our next stay it would be rectified, I just dont know when that will be. Very nice place to stay all in all but have given an average rating based on the power issues in the bathroom.

Location and nearby options - Right on Great South road. One can easily find "Countdown" store and variety of food options from this hotel - Malaysian, Indian, Korean and much more at a walk'able distance. There are plenty of car showrooms available pretty close-by from the hotel. Food at hotel - Didn't try and hence no comments. Size of room, cleanliness and amenities in the room - My room number was 25 located on the first floor and i stayed here for 2 weeks. Room was quite spacious with a queen bed, a single side bed (both the beds were quite good), TV, AC, a small kitchen with a dining table and a balcony. Kitchenette included bread toaster, coffee maker, 2 top electric stove apart from a microwave oven with kitchen utensils, a mini refrigerator apart from tea/coffee/chocolate milk, sugar, salt/pepper packets. Milk packet was provided complimentary on each day. Bathroom included a shower room apart from all other basic amenities. Cleanliness - Bed linen and towels were quite neat. Everyday room was cleaned and no complaints in this regard. Parking - Free parking and one will not face the situation of unable to find a parking slot for his/her vehicle. WiFi - This alone was miserable. Receptionist would be providing us passcodes for getting WiFi access. Though am unable to comment whether there was a problem in room - 25 alone wrt internet connectivity, it was quite pathetic. Had this been better, would've given a higher rating. Overall - Had a very good stay except for internet. If you're not much bothered about internet, then this hotel would be a great choice.

Stayed here for the Lions rugby Tour recently. Very friendly staff (Liz and Wilson in cafe). Rooms well sized with comfortable beds and clean. They were quite cold, when heaters put on they became rather damp but the weather was rather erratic. Good location and 300m from Remuera station which is 15mins from Britomart stop for central Auckland. Also 10mins walk from Newmarket which is full of upmarket shops, cool cafes and some good bars. Wifi ok and cafe served a decent breakfast.

Three of us travelled to Akld for performance of Othello - , suites were ideal, easy to find altho street numbering erratic, and handy to venue for taxi to and fro arranged by staff. We requested 3 separate beds and the family apartment was perfect, attached restaurant provided a quick meal. We would return.

We had a horrific start to our stay in Auckland and this place was our saviour. The staff were wonderful, helpful and kind. Our room was clean and had everything we needed and the shower pressure was awesome. The on site restaurant was just lovely. Beautifully cooked food in a very clean establishment. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you Best Western. We will be back.

I wanted 3things, a King size bed, Sky Movies and room service. 2 out of 3 ain't bad, sadly the restaurant was closed on this particular night but as the location is good Countdown and other eating places are barely a 3minute drive away or simply a short walk. Room and bed were very comfortable, only negative was the noisey family upstairs!!

For $259.00 per night the accommodation that was appalling. Was close to being a skid row type environment. Defifnitely DO NOT recommend. Let alone the restaurant they have in there complex. Wouldn't feed my dog there.

Amazing place to stay, clean and very tidy rooms and very family friendly... they put on the best Easter morning for the kids with games and Easter egg hunt.. will definitely stay again and recommend to all.. thanks so much

a flying visit to Auckland for a appointment turn out to be a great stay with the best western. The place was lovely, can't fault it in anyway. Ladies at front desk went out of there way to answer my questions, advice on when to travel ( stupid Auckland traffic). I would stay there in a flash next time in Auckland. Very central.

Central location, easy access, suitable for our overnight stay. King bed was very comfortable, bathroom ok but did need somewhere to hang clothes/towels especially if staying longer than 1 night. Bonus was ability to prep our own breakfast before our busy day

I stayed 4 nights here. The room was standard motel style on the ground floor with a microwave and toaster. It was fine if you were going to be out during the day. The room had been refurbished and had no complaints in regard to the cleanliness, the bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower great. Wi-Fi was free up to 1 gig a day. Other than a wardrobe there was not a lot of storage space especially in the bathroom. The location is reasonably central if you have a vehicle. Be aware there is a surcharge if you are paying by credit card, not sure is it was 2.5% or 2.9%

We went to Auckland to see Bruce Springsteen. We planned a 6 night stay. We picked Best Western because it is a chain we use often at home for business. We picked this location because it is called Newmarket so we assumed it was in the heart of Newmarket based on the information on the hotel website. When booking, it only allowed us to select a room with a double and a single bed. We made the reservation but emailed them to say we didn't need two beds but, because of the duration of our stay, we needed space. When we arrived, it was late evening. The room they gave us was cramped with a queen bed and two single beds There was one chair beside the entry door and a small table in the kitchenette with two wooden chairs. The prospect of spending 6 nights in this room was upsetting and we tried to find another hotel but given the concert and Gay Pride celebrations, everything was booked solid or was greater than $600 a night. We talked to the Reception the next morning. She told us that there was nothing she could do, that they were booked full but would talk to the manager when she arrived. When we got back later in the afternoon, she was in the midst of moving our luggage to another room. She told us that she wanted to make sure we were settled before she left her shift. The best asset of this hotel is their staff. The replacement room was much better and recently renovated. A king bed, a larger sitting area, front and back door onto a deck that circled the hotel, a basic kitchenette and small bathroom but one with more storage than our first room. We didn't use the pool but did take a look. It was small but looked clean. We didn't have a car but there is a train within a 10 minute walk and a few basic restaurants and take-aways close by. This place is better suited for travellers with cars because it is not close to much. It is not central to Newmarket's shopping and the restaurants nearby are very basic. No grocery stores close by, just a couple of convenience stores and bakeries. In the end, we had a great stay in Auckland and we made the best of a less than ideal hotel experience. However, had the lovely Receptionist not worked to get us a better room, I am certain I would be writing a much different review.

This motel has good and bad. I stayed a night there with my family. Negatives were - a queen and a single bed crammed into one bedroom and two singles in the dining, 'sitting room' area. So, the unit could sleep five but there were only three towels (we asked for more) and three chairs. Bathroom had not enough towel rails and it needed at least a stool to put things on - the sliding door handle was loose and insecure - the microwave was precarious atop the fridge - and one of the TV remotes was faulty. Positives were the motel is very handy to everything though fairly quiet - the unit was sparkling clean with good quality linen and the pool was lovely.

Came here for a weekend stay on our visit to Auckland as our AirBnB fell through. Pleasantly happy that this place has improved. Service - Friendly and efficient. Comfort - Bed is very comfortable and the room is of a good size. Good room to stay in. Cleanliness - Room service has improved since our last stay in January and this has stepped up. There's also no bird nesting around anymore which is more hygienic as well. Décor - Is a bit dated but very functional. Overall - Glad this place has improved as it has a great location and very convenient.

Just a good as last time. Great value for money. Staff friendly. Clean rooms. Beds very comfortable. We were very happy to be able to get a booking at the last minute so thank you for accommodating us. Very central location. Recommend to all.

our small group stayed at this hotel. the staff was decent. the hotel was almost full that our group stayed at different parts. when we passed several rooms, most of the doors were wide open. and a lot of people were smoking inside rooms as well as the outdoor corridors. our room had a strong smoking smell, thus we requested for a different room. and guess what we got? a guest room in a converted meeting space. quite awkward. and a mostly uncomfortable experience (for the price that we paid - when compared to other guest rooms). you can see pictures for yourself. and based on our experience... would we want to return? probably not.

A bit dated but functional for our trip to Auckland. Could do with a makeover as it was pretty dated. Carpark was a bit cramped for our larger vehicle but okay if you had a rollerskate sized car. Very close to Broadway in New Market and easy to get on and off the motorway.

We stayed here twice to fit in with medical treatment nearby - two nights each time. The staff were really friendly and helpful. It was great to come back to a familiar setting and be remembered and welcomed back. The room service meal was delicious and really good value.

Great place to stay room was great lots of rooms has a great night and price was right. Also the restaurant within the hotel has the best homemade food ever. The staff was courteous friendly and made sure to check to make sure our room was up to our standard

We stayed here for one night as we were going to a show in Auckland. I rate it above average but feel very good is probably an over estimation. The reception staff were friendly & efficient, the room was clean & adequate for a one nighter. The location to Auckland centre was good. It took around 10 minutes to get home after the show.

In town for a big work assessment I chose to stay at a motel rather than with family so I'd get a good nights sleep. Unfortunately I got anything but. The walls must not contain any form of insulation/sound proofing as I could easily hear the people in the next room chatting. This continued until after 2am. Very very frustrating! The room was otherwise to a good standard and clean. The staff were nice. If you are looking for a place to sleep then this is not the place for you.

We stayed in the Executive Triple Room. The room was good, the only thing was a peculiar smell (almost like a pet dog smell) when we first arrived, so kept the door open to air it out which seemed to work. The king bed was in the lounge and two single beds in the bedroom. Plenty of room for the two of us. The heat pump worked well which was good as it got quite cold later in the night. Free wifi, onsite free parking. The motel is located close to Newmarket so it doesn't take long to walk down to shops/restaurants or a short drive if you prefer. We asked for a late check out and they let us check out at 11am without extra charge which we really appreciated. Would stay here again.

Couple of days in Auckland's burbs. Friendly enough reception. Room did the job, nothing outstanding but nothing catastrophic. Plus. Free parking and wi-fi Minus. A tad pokey, particularly the bathroom BUT great water pressure in the shower.

this is the third year in a row that we have stayed here. we will be staying again next year. its a great place to stay, great location, clean and very good pricing. i have not tried the food at the cafe. but every other experience has been good.

My room was about 4 degrees Celsius and without power when I arrived as planned at 10:30 PM. (Outdoor temp was about 3 degrees.) The night attendant was abrupt, and never mentioned that electric power to room had to be turned-on, by finding a wall-mounted card pocket, which was impossible to find in the dark. The room remained PAINFULLY COLD throughout the night, as the single heat pump was completely inadequate to thaw a frozen room. Another surprise on checking out Saturday morning -- breakfast hours listed in the room do NOT apply on Saturdays. As a result I was late for my taxi to the airport and incurred an extra fee. And the meals are mediocre.

The room itself was OK but the beds weren't that comfortable and the pillows awful. There were 3 blown lightbulbs, which we were told couldn't be fixed until the next day because the maintenance team had left for the day. This shows a lack of routine maintenance as I can't believe a bathroom, kitchen and over bed light all blew at the same time. It was advertised as having kitchen facilities which it did except there was no sink so you were expected to wash your dishes in the bathroom handbasin which I find unacceptable. Also the shower was very random - obviously couldn't cope with the hot water demand in the morning as it went from cold to boiling hot and from OK to a complete dribble and back again several times. Certainly not somewhere you would want a child to shower as you had to keep ducking in and out of the water.

The bathroom is small, by the way, but good enough for children, but the room is poorly maintained. Plus ...i don't know whats wrong with internet in New Zealand, we only limited by 1 gb. You can cook and even grilling, yes, they have small kitchen in the room, but very close to the bed, so i won't suggest you to cook here.

I spent 7 nights here in the Spa Apartment 1 Bedroom with my 5 year old daughter and grandma. We absolutely loved this place as it had everything there. 2 TVs, 2 beds (King & Single), full kitchenette, heat pump, shower & spa bath with heated towel rail, daily room service so clean towels provided, free wifi, free car park. Spotlessly clean and warm. Close to motorway and to Remuera or Newmarket Shops. What I loved the most is that I could cook when I wanted to but also order room service from the restaurant for the off days. Food is divine and reasonably priced. From day 1 we received a warm welcome from staff members Lola and Sifa. Their service is outstanding and they made us feel at home. I cannot thank you enough for your warm hospitality, because of you both we created some fond/ great memories with my grandma which we will cherish and never forget. From the Cook Islands 'Meitaki maata & Kia Manuia'. :-)

We paid a bit more for this accommodation and the room was very nice. All that we needed and set out lovely. There is a balcony in front of all the rooms even the ground floor. The car park is in front of the room but you have to take your luggage all the way around because the balcony is in the way. Everyone was hauling it over the top but if your case is heavy you could do some damage to yourself. They didn't have any tourist information either, such as a map or what to see. It was a nice walk to the train and only one stop into the city at a cost of $2.50 which was good. Newmarket is close with lots of shops. Free wifi.

From the moment we check in to the moment we checked out this hotel was outstanding. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, gave tips about where to go and attractions to see. Allowed us to check out an hour later. Rooms were very large and clean. Plenty of parking. Great location. Linen was clean, bed was comfy. Would stay here again, we loved it.

Really loved this hotel. Booked a quadruple room and found it had a bedroom with a double and single and two single beds in the living area. TVs in each room. Great kitchen area with all amenities, iron and board. Very clean and more than comfortable. Staff very friendly. Lots of takeaways near the hotel. We ordered pizza which was delivered without a problem. We could almost park outside our room. Wish breakfast could have been included in price. We didn't eat in restaurant As a little pricey.

This review is for the motel's restaurant. It's not the classiest of a restaurant, nothing fancy. But the service and the food quality I got was an excellent surprise. It was a busy morning but my order was taken almost immediately and after 10 mins, I got my tea and food. I ordered bacon Benedict for breakfast and loved it! Poached eggs are beautiful and the sauce was very nice.

Initially, I was disappointed to find that the BEST WESTERN Newmarket Inn & Suites is largely an old-fashioned two-storey motel complex (and I understand also isn't actually in Newmarket); I'd expected more for what I was paying for my two night stay. However, my room was spacious and had everything that I needed, there was free wifi, reception had a security safe which they were happy for me to use for my laptop, and the room and bathroom were exceptionally clean. What particularly made my stay enjoyable, was the high level of competence and helpfulness of all of the staff that I encountered.

A great location for a hotel in Auckland, very nice rooms with all the amenities. Free wifi and a great cafe at the hotel. Parking is excellent on site, food off site is not to far away. The staff here are have a great customer service ethic. I enjoy staying here on a regular basis, the staff will get to know you, so it becomes a bit of a home away from home.

Spent a night at this hotel on business recently. The location is excellent being just a short walking distance from both Greenlane and Newmarket, offering great shopping and a wide range of eating establishments to choose from. The motel offers free onsite parking, a bonus these days. The rooms are a reasonable size,quiet and comfortable. Reasonably priced so I would recommend.

I booked here through my holiday club and was pleasantly surprised. I do enjoy the consistency amongst best westerns. Spent one night in a one bedroom studio which slept 2 adults and one child comfortably in two separate rooms. Open plan kitchen, dining and lounge and master bed and additional room with two singles. The accommodation was totally ideal and we were very happy and warm. Reception was welcoming and helpful. We were only moments from Remuera which was ideal for work commitments the following day. Recommended for sure.

The motel is quite comfortable. I particularly liked the cafe-restaurant where the meals were reasonably priced and of good quality. This is not an upmarket cafe-restaurant but pleasant decor and a good basic menu. I enjoyed my meals there.

Our room was perfectly adequate for three of us. It was nice and quiet and really clean. Opportunity here to update the bathrooms though. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Would stay here again as it was good value for money and so close to so much of Auckland

This place was a good solid performer as far as motels go. The girl at check-in was really friendly and helpful, the room was ready on time and nicely cleaned. Wi-fi was solid. Bed was comfortable. It may not be super modern, but it doesn't feel tired – just has a bit of that "slightly dated 90s 5-star hotel" charm. If you have a car, it's a handy distance from the CBD and also convenient to the airport, which suited us well for the last night of our trip. On the night we stayed there was a modestly discounted special rate, so value for money was good. Small things that weren't ideal: - There's a bit of noise from the motorway (and the occasional train). It's more of a constant background hum than an annoying noise, but might be louder in some rooms. - Despite the bed type being listed as 'king', it was actually two single beds pushed together and had a noticeable valley in the middle.

We stayed in the wheelchair access unit & although our unit was comfortable & clean the bathroom was very tired & needed a complete makeover.Not having a sink in the kitchenette to wash ones dishes properly is not on. We resent having to wash them in the bathroom basin that also has the toilet & shower. Whilst there there was a fire alarm alert about 10pm. It was very hard to hear what was being said on the loud speaker. We could not see the fire instructions on the back of the door or other obvious place. Eventually found in the compendium.Not a place one would look in an emergency. We also looked hard but could not see or find a smoke detector or sprinkler in our room.

We stayed here over Easter and chose this because it was close to where our daughters were staying with their sports contingent. Also recommended by another family member. Nice 2 bedroom 2 bathroom. Much needed air conditioning. Good food outlets nearby, supermarkets within a few minutes drive as well as a Westfield Newmarket also only a 5 min drive away. Would gladly stay here again.

The family had decided to vacation in Auckland and we landed there to find a good hotel. Since Best Western in a known brand, we called them to see if we could see the location and rooms. The staff were very courteous and invited us to inspect their hotel. The location in New Market is great with eating places / pubs / etc. all within a very short walking distance. The New Market Station is also very close. The rooms were large, spotlessly clean with a fully equipped kitchenette. Very luxurious with effective air-conditioning and a laundromat in case you wanted to wash your clothes. Staff were most helpful and enough car parking in case you use a rental car.

Room was clean and fine for a one night stay. Close to Mount Eden and a few minutes to the airport. If you don't want to drive an easy bus ride to downtown. Auckland downtown closes early though. Accommodated a noon checkout and free parking and Wi-Fi.

Location and amenities suited me, and the Senior discount was a bonus. The free Wi-Fi, seating area and on-site restaurant/cafe were all positive decision points for me, and the spa bath was a lovely extra.

Efficient service with comfortable beds. Had a separate room with two singles plus king in the living. Spacious kitchenette. Location very good for Newmarket. Quiet and the staff are friendly. Sky channels a bit limited. Parking is ample. Stay was uneventful and delivered everything one would expect.

Wouldn't normally stay here but usual hotels were full for the period I needed. It could be value for some as this suite had 5 single beds and a double bed. Obviously I did not need this space but I also had cooking facilities. I had breakfast at the restaurant choosing eggs benedict which was great. Overall ok place if you are family or group of travellers. Some nice cafes and restaurants a short walk down the road.

We stayed in the family room. Request for 4 beds but we got 5 beds. No extra charge. Yipee...Laundry is near to the reception but at night nobody is around. We asked thru the intercom for small change but the staff told us to do the laundry the next day. Other than that...It was great stay

Would recommend this hotel. We just stayed for one night, in a family room, but it was perfect for our needs and well priced. Booked online and requested a midday check in with a portacot, which was all sorted for us on our arrival. Beautiful room, even had an oven and stove top. Only a short 5-10 minute walk to Newmarket shops etc. Would stay here again.

We had to get some last minute accommodation and ended up at Best Western in Newmarket. It turned out great. No frills but still very decent, clean and good service. Public buses to Auckland CBD from just across the road. Close enough to shops and restaurants in Newmarket so it turned out a convenient and pleasant stay.

Stayed for 3 nights, staff friendly, room and bed very comfortable, good location, although little noisy from the motorway at back of hotel. Restaurant very impressive! Souvlaki was amazing, and pasta was very good. Breakfast outstanding. Will recommend :)

We rented a 2 bedroom apartment, there are many beds (way more than we needed!) but it lacks practical space. On the first level there is one bathroom and the big bed, cramped beside a tiny kitchenette and a desk with only one chair. We would've liked to cook at night and eat supper in the room but it was impossible due to the absence of a table and chairs. That said, the bed is dreamy comfortable, the TV has many channels and both bathrooms seemed recently renovated. Everything was clean, the staff was more than nice and helpful. WiFi is free with a max usage of 1Go a day, but we were told we could use as much codes (they give us codes and passwords when checking in) as we wanted. It is located a 10-minute drive from the city's CBD. We had a room near the railway track but the noise didn't bother us, I don't remember hearing anything at all. The supermarket is a few minutes away from there and a nice Italian restaurant is at a walking distance. I would stay there again.

We recently had a two night stay at this motel. The free parking and wifi was great as well as the reception staff. As we didn't want to drive into the city they provided details of where to catch the local buses close to the motel as well as in the city for our return. The room was clean and well presented with good sized beds and a good kitchenette. Shops and a supermarket are not far away if you want to save money and eat in which we did one night. Even though it's on a main road it was not overly noisy. I can recommend this motel for anyone who wants affordable accommodation near the city with ample on site parking.

Came here to stay for a weekend in January and was impressed with this. Service - Friendly enough reception and helpful. Location - Close to Newmarket and motorway so is definitely very handy. Comfort - The bed is very comfortable although the pillows were a bit too soft. Facilities - Clean room with all necessary amenities. Handy enough. Wifi - Free and can be slow in the evening. Outdoor - Tight parking. There's lots of bird excrements and a bird nest outside our room which isn't quite right. Birds make lots of noise during the morning. Room service - Very sloppy work. They put the bed back together but not completely because the pillows are still not back to its original place and the "covering" at the leg of the bed is still messy. Overall - Good enough for short stay but not a luxury stay for sure.

Travelling from US, used to most BW with newer and larger facilities. Wifi worked in evening, not in morning. Breakfast "not included in your rate". Never experienced this in US. Room small, parking tight. Ok for 1 night.

I stayed for 3 nights, dinned for breakfast and dinner in their restaurant (I had the Salmon omelette each morning for breakfast and for dinner the Souvlaki and the grass fed scotch fillet - all so good). Try their Pita bread with 2 dips and the garlic bread too! I was delighted by the level of customer focus staff had to "we travellers", nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Amy and Andy certainly know how to run a great facility so my thanks go to them for sure. I can recommend a stay here as its only 25 mins by car to the airport, 10 minutes to the CBD and about 5 minutes to the trendy, iconic Parnell precinct of shops and cafes. Book via Qantas.com as the rate I got (AUD $120) is just terrific. Enjoy your stay!

We had two rooms here, upstairs and street facing. We were a little disturbed by building noise but by early evening it stopped and we didn't really even hear the street noise. The room was really clean and comfortable, spacious and oh yeah did I say ...clean! We both slept really well and as it was a work trip we had a corporate rate which made it really affordable :)

My wife and I stayed twice in our three week holiday, whilst also visiting our daughter. This was in a good location with easy access to the city. The room was a very good size and I would stay here again.

This is an older Motel, rooms are reasonable but far too expensive at 240 a night. better option is the jet Park Motel near Airport (almost 100 cheaper and better). Internet was good, staff were noisy in the morning cleaning adjacent rooms.

We spent two nights at the Best Western in Newmarket while our son was involved with a water polo tournament held at Dio. We were more than happy with our stay. The self contained room we had was nicely appointed, spacious, private and very clean. Most importantly, the beds were very comfortable! Ialso enjoyed the helpful, friendly service at the front desk. We will definutely stay there again, even if we are in town for something in the central city as this hotel is peaceful and private but still close enough to the action to be convenient.

Very nice place to stay and in a great location. I will use this hotel again in future although the price of $199 is too steep, should be around the $140 mark compared to other hotels I have used around the country

Stayed in Room 23 for 7 nights. beautifully appointed room, very confortable beds, spacious room with a kitchenette. very clean and cosy. 5 mins walk to restaurants and the Remuera train station. bus stop directly opposite the hotel so transportation was very convenient. Staff were most friendly. New market was anly a 10 mins walk away. I will recommend this hotel to my friends and will definately stay there again on my next trip to Auckland.

Stayed in room 23 for 1 Saturday night. Room rate included free wifi & parking. Room had a king bed & kitchenette plus another room with 2 singles. Very clean & comfortable. Hardly any road noise and decent window coverings to keep light out in the morning. Walking distance to a good choice of eateries. Quick & easy friendly checkin.

I stayed for three nights whilst on a conference and thoroughly enjoyed it. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in and the room and bathroom were pristine. The railway line close by isn't a problem with the new electric trains. I forgot I was near a railway line until I saw a train. Traffic noise is not excessive considering you're in a big city. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. I did find the fridge noisy and had a bit of thumping around from the room above but not after sleep time. I would stay here again.

Modern and clean hotel on city fringe. The location on fringe of Newmarket is good for those with cars as easy access to motorways etc and parking. The rooms are modern and clean, though some noise from road behind. The restaurant in the venue will surprise you, the food is excellent, although no liquor license at this stage. There are a number of good eateries within 5 mins walk. Also take the time to walk up Mt Hobson behind the hotel if you new to Auckland.

Excellent service. Staff very obliging & friendly. Room extremely clean. Beds really comfortable. Great to have heaters in bathroom. Ate food from restaurant. Food was great and fast service. Very clean. Will come again.

An extremely comfortable bed and for the most part, a clean, tidy room. Service was good, breakfast was yummy and the coffee was the best I have had for some time. Location of hotel is great too. Convenient location for New Market shopping and surrounds.

The 2br apartment was very clean, well appointed and perfect for our needs (I was travelling with my elderly mother) although it would have been good to have an elevator/lift to access the apartment. The major issue for me was that there was a very loud snorer in the adjoining room which kept me awake most of the night. The location was really good and only a short walk to a selection of eating places (Malaysian, Japanese, fish and chips and a bakery).

My Uncle had booked and pre-paid to stay four nights here for a family funeral and after checking in and getting the key for the room were chased down the corridor by the person on reception and told they only had the room for two nights as there had "apparently" been a mix up and would need to find somewhere else for Saturday and Sunday..... coincidence that the Bledisloe Cup was on and they worked out they could get more money for the room???? They then tried to move them down the road and gave them $60 cash back and a small box of chocolates, to come back a short while later and ask for the cash back. The suggested hotel was not suitable so on the day of the funeral they had to try and sort out other accommodation to add to the stress of the day. Poor form Best Western you kicked a man out of his room who's come from Australia for his Sisters funeral!!!
