    « Average tourist hotel »

Stayed for a couple of nights on a business trip. This hotel is in Glyfada, a half hour drive south of Athens. The area is quite good and the hotel is close to marinas and beaches. However, it is not on the center of Glyfada, where all the shops and restaurants are. You can walk for a twenty minutes to the center, or take a taxi which will bring you in five minutes and five euros, to the center. Be aware that there are no business in the hotel area. It is a residential area. The hotel is quite well maintained, but looks outdated and the rooms are small. So is the bathroom and also the two elevator are SMALL. Each room has a small balcony, which provides nice view to the sea and marinas. Breakfast is average. The best thing it has to offer is a super-strong and fast wifi. Front desk service is very good.

« Excellent service, spacious room & in Glyfada »

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel - the service was great and reception went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Specifically, Valeria - she was really kind, asked about our day and also was helpful with an special rate early check in at 4am after a night flight! Pool area is good, rooms are clean and you can walk into the town centre. Can't wait to return! THANK YOU BEST WESTERN FENIX HOTEL GLYFADA!

    « Great location »

Great Location and not a far walk from the main shops and restaurants in Glyfada. It's perfect if you don't have a car too because it's walking distance to the beach too! From Athens it's about 15 mins in the car so it's perfect really. There is a really cute little church just a minute walk from the hotel too. The Russian lady on front desk (sorry forgotten the name) is really friendly and kind! All the staff speak good English too. Room was nice and spacious.

« VERY GOOD............ CAN BE BETTER !!!!!!! »

i have been traveling all over the world for bussines and i stayed in a lot of hotels in many cities like LONDON PARIS etc. far better than any other 4 * hotel from a lot of european cities. i would like to write a review for this hotel because i allready stayed there many times and is a very good hotel with exelent breakfast buffet....also i would like to give an answer to some bad reviews because is not true.... very nice location in a very safe, modern and high class area, very clean and very comfortable rooms staff very good some people sayed is very noisy (close your windows) some people sayed is not closed to athens city center (see the map) the only think i can find and i want to say to the manager. you can put on the top of the mattreses,NICE SOFT MEMMORY FOAM 5-8 cm mattreses. allways you can inproove bussines....

« Last Night in Greece »

I choose this Hotel because it was our last night in Greece before heading back to the US, and it was closer to the Airport. This Hotel exceeded my expectations in appeal and cleanliness upon arrival and were pleasantly greeted after a long day of traveling. Not only were we impressed with this property (upon arrival), but our Front Desk Clerk who checked us in, had taken the liberty of upgrading our room to a Suite. This single act, put this Hotel on the top of my list. I only wish I was there longer to enjoy it. :-)

« Average hotel to stay »

Hotel is located within 15-20mins walking distance to the center, Rooms are very clean and service is good. Breakfast is not included in room prices however 7euros is worth to pay extra, eventhough i would expect more from a 4 star hotel. There is free wifi all around the hotel, If you dont have high expectation this hotel is ideal

« Nice hotel in Athens »

We stayed here for a night in September. The room was spacious and clean. There was a nice balcony. The swimming pool looked good but we never got a chance to use it. The beach is within walking distance of the hotel and our room did have a sea view. There is free parking at the hotel. It's a bit away from the centre of Athens but it's close to the tram stop going into the centre. It's ideal if you want a city break next to the sea. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

    « Very nice hotel »

Very good accommodation. The hotel has good and clean bedroom. The breakfast was full of things and very tasty. Nice view and near by has many clubs and live music. I am very pleased with this choice.

« The best hotel in the area, no doubts! »

After 9 years flying to Athens for work reasons (last week was the last time I was), I keep on going to the same hotel in Glyfada. A couple of times I was located in some others around the same area and believe me, Fenix Hotel makes a BIG difference! It looks modern, clean, nice.. all installations (Bar, Restaurant, Swimming pool, etc..) are really confortable and nice. The rooms, even the smaller one, are nice, clean, confortable, with flat TV, mini-fridge, air conditioned/heat, balcon with small table and chairs outside.. The staff are GREAT, with no exception, every single person that work there is friendly and helpful; they really take care about their customers. The room service is quick and nice. The breakfast has a big variety of products, more than enough. The prices are really really good for sucha a quality hotel. So, I strongly recommend this hotel; I won't never try a different one; believe me. Congratulations to all people that work in Fenix Hotel ! :-) BRAVO SAS !

    « Economy hotel »

Best Western Fenix... Well, to start - arriving at 03:00 the reception desk was at least very helpful. Hope you don't mind small lifts because this one will make you feel like a gherkin! Hotel is in serious need of a renovation. This is evident in the hallways and especially the rooms. Enter your room: Each has a balcony which helps to chill out if it gets hot. Just don't expect anything scenic as the beach is to far away to truly see and between the hotel and seafront there is a abandoned junk yard/ plot with old cars, radar domes and various maritime derelicts. And then there is a road, with heavy traffic, so sleeping with the sliding door open will keep you entertained with the sounds of cars, trucks and the odd drag racing at this time of the night! Why not the aircon? Well - it looks a bit dodgy, with grey fluff being blown out the grills when turned on and a weird smell. This is after you had to overlook the mould growth in some corners of the room. At 03:30 you need to sleep, so at this stage it does not matter that the beds are only marginally softer than the carpet floor. Sheets looked clean in it's outdated peach color. Housekeeping is efficient. Wake up and shower - again, an economy affair with a bath curtain and hand held shower. After all this it's breakfast time which I would STRONGLY suggest you avoid if on a business trip. If you have a strong stomach, go for it and enjoy the sloppy eggs and white mushrooms. This would by someone else standards be good but I prefer to stay on the safe side ;) - if coffee is needed, give the breakfast area a WIDE berth (skip it) and go around the corner to EVEREST Coffe (north of the hotel on the same block, 3 minutes walk) - they have excellent coffee, even if you have to share the streets with the garbage scavengers. Other points of interest - Parking is outside so take care with your car. We lost the tow hook caps on the front and back of the vehicle on the second night. There were also working girls spotted outside the hotel if you needed company. We will probably not stay there again for a Business trip but if you are backpacking, then this would probably beat a hostel as the pool is massive and quite deep. (just a pity the deep end is away from the Hotel ;)

    « Nice but a bit noisy »

I stayed there with my wife before Easter, the hotel has a spacious lobby, very good V position overlooking the sea, the rooms are spacious and well maintained and all the balconies have a nice view. The beds are very comfortable and room service is efficient. The buffet breakfast was OK, with the classical choice of breakfast food, . I think that the choice is probably better during summer months. The only problem is the noise coming from the very busy main street which leads to the center of Glyfada with several lanes. When you close the balcony door it's OK but otherwise...And if you do not have your own car aqnd want to visit the centre of Athens, you have to take a taxi or go by streetcar whcih takes about one hour. Maybe in this way you will get to know the city in a better way.

    « Very good »

I've only stayed two nights in this hotel but I really can't complain. Good value for your money very clean and quiet just what you want on a holiday to relax. Room service is fast and the food is okay and you can buy ticket to attractions at the reception.

    3
    « Average stay »

We stayed for 2 nights and thought it was very average and certainly not 4 star rating. The breakfast was terrible and the housekeeping was also below standard. We have stayed across the road at the London Hotel and could not fault it at all. We picked the Fenix solely because it had a pool which the London hotel didn't.

« Expected more but overall pleased »

Friendly staff, clean rooms and good facilities. The location is not so good because it is quite far from anything. We didn't realise that the beaches wouldn't have any sort of tourist shops or help anywhere. Glyfada itself is a strange place and not for a beach holiday at all! The hotel was okay, we expected a lot more for the price that we paid but we felt safe here considering we had been warned about potential crime and refugees around.

« Whilst visiting Athens, beach is the answer... »

The first time we booked this place was a year ago, only because it was opposite the beach and fit the budget. The stay was comfortable, the staff were polite and helpful, rooms were clean with a view of the sea and the location was excellent. The staff also recommended places to visit and good restaurants. Very convenient in terms of public transport as the tram line is just opposite the road. We did not however try the food there as we were always out exploring the city. The tram into town costs about €0.60 each way and the taxi to the airport costs about €37. So here's me not complaining and definitely recommending it.

« Good location with friendly staff :) »

Had a lovely stay at this hotel..The staff at reception where lovely and helpful. Great location right beside the beach and there's a tram line about 5 mins away which is a cheap and easy way to get around. The rooms where clean and spacious the beds where comfy and the air conditioning was beautiful!

    « Solid motel »

We spent 2 nights at the Fenix on our European tour. It is placed about 2 kms from the main shopping district of Glyfada, but tram and bus service is just outside the Fenix. The hotel itself is clean but a little dated. The breakfast was great with lots of choices on offer. The pool was pretty clean, although the pool attendant did not seem too engaged with the guests. The staff service at the pool was quite good, however we were disappointed with the attitude of one particular young waiter who was quite rude to us about setting up a tab. According to other reports, the motel would seem to have an issue with a few individual staff and their customer service, and it is up to the Management of the Fenix to seriously address these issues to ensure that the paying customer is given friendly service.....especially international visitors. Otherwise, our stay at the Fenix was most satisfactory overall.

    « DONT VISIT »

Very rude, bad rooms, poor service, not worth the money value... When i checked out i get problem with the money they asked me more that they asked when i checked in, even tho i didnt even use the T.V! Im very dissapointed with everything and i never gonna visit this Hotel again!

    3
« Good location and service, but otherwise very average »

This hotel is well located on the "Athens Riviera" and it is clean and neat, but quite tired and in need of an uplift. My door lock had to be replaces twice and the aircon was so loud that I could not sleep with it on, so the choice was either a sweaty sleep or no sleep! Staff were very friendly and helpful and the price of €70 per room per night very good during high season.

    3
« Good for sleep over only »

The property in a very good location, however it can be selected for not more than having good time to sleep only....free parking and reasonable rate.very attractive places nearby, including, Fine dining and more.

    « Not recommend »

The hotel is old fashioned. The breakfast is poor. Most of the staff is rude. By the time you check in they ask you to either prepay the full amount or pay every day. The swimming pool is not very clean and the service is very poor.

    « Super friendly hotel »

We were in Athens visiting our son and without any local knowledge booked this hotel as we had stayed at Best Westerns in different locations before. This hotel did not disappoint. Our room was enormous. It contained sofas, tub chairs a large dressing table and a super kingsize bed. The decor was tastefully neutral. We had a large flatscreen TV (although the weather was too good to be indoors), a fridge and a safe. There was plenty of room to store everything we had brought with us. The bathroom had a bathtub, walk in shower, WC and sink and was huge. It also had a phone which slightly perplexed me! Our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean as was the whole hotel. The towels were changed daily (there did not seem to be an option for using towels more than once. Maybe this could be something that from an ecological point could be explored?), the room was thoroughly cleaned and toiletries, coffee etc replenished when required. Breakfast offered so much choice it was difficult to know what to have. There was ample seating and the tables were cleaned and reset promptly. Even after a wedding we had no problems sitting for breakfast. We only ate in the bar one evening and one lunch time but we found the food very good and excellent value for money. The swimming pool was an added bonus and the terrace was amply supplied with loungers and parasols. There were two lifts that were quite small but did the job perfectly. I have some mobility issues and we were on the fourth floor but this was not an issue because the lifts were fine. However the real strength of this hotel is the staff. They were without exception truly fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. They were friendly and professional and seemed very keen to ensure they provided a great service. They succeeded! We will definitely stay here again when we next visit Athens.

« Nice hotel and near the sea »

This is my third stay here, I have only stay here for business trips. However the hotel has been great. Great location and room with a sea view. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are big enough and comfortable and there is a lovely bar downstairs for drinks and dinner. Great location and hotel, I will definitely be coming back here on my next trip.

« GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY »

Very good value for money. Very good location, near the sea. Most of the rooms have sea view. The rooms were clean, but old. There is a big swimming pool and that's a plus. Overall you get what you pay for.

« One of the best hotels in Glyfada »

We looked at all reviews on glyfada hotels when booking and choose the fenix. The hotel is a couple of minutes to the modern tram that goes into the centre of glyfada frequently. We wanted a sea view room which was lovely yes it is by a busy road but after a while you get used to it on the balcony and we could not here the traffic in the room. We had a moden walk in shower no getting into the bath. Room had tv fridge safety deposit box and room was cleaned every day and bed was good. My only issue was in the end room i was in i could not get wifi but i went outside my door and full signal so it did not spoil my holiday. We had foid in the hotel and was fine. The front of desk staff especially Gregory was helpful. Pool had plenty of beds and umbrellas No child pool so may be an issue is you have children. I also looked at some of the other hotels in glyfada and we booked the better hotel. I wish we had stayed here and commuted by metro into athens fir the sites glyfada is a classy area with goid restaurants.

    « Comfortable, friendly, clean. »

Room and bed were comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was good and tasty. Tram nearby for journey to city centre. Good variety of restaurants on Glyfada - three tram stops away.

    « Nice hotel »

Privileged location in Glyfada, area shopping, to eat, drink coffe and spend good time.. Every time I go to Athenas I stay at this hotel, because offers good service and the suites are comfortable and spacioous,

    3
    « Old fashion Hotel »

Any old fashion Hotel in the suburb of athens with rude staff ( except one of receptionist) poor breakfast, old rooms and elevator, so far from attractions of athens, dirty court, dar from any store and restaurant, at all it was very bad experience in athens. Don't try it.

    2
« Average - NOT near airport NOT walking distance to central Glyfada »

I stayed here for 10 days until two nights ago. Unless you book a "suite" the rooms are tiny. The room service menu is very limited and not 24 hour service. There are no coffee making facilities in the rooms. The bedding is very old fashioned for a supposedly modern hotel and our sheets and blankets (!) were exactly the same size as the mattress - with no overlap. Very unsatisfactory sleep. The hotel is on the main coast road which despite double glazing was still noisy. During our stay there were two nights when school children were running amok at all times of the day and night. Wouldn't stay there again.

    « Well set out »

Away from the central city if u r looking for a quiet place, this is it. The special mention goes to both the receptionists who were very friendly and readily assist. The greek restaurant in house has limited menu on offer. But the breakfast spread is nice and complimentary. Not so pricey u can say. The room is well equipped but can be improved. Internet is available free with good connectivity. The layout of the room was not likeable. My choice was limited to the accessibility of my organisation, but stil would like to stay at the place again. All the staff were very courteous and friendly.

    5
    « Highly recommended! »

I highly recommend this hotel with excellent location just outside of Glyfada - walkingdistance, close to the airport. Comfortable and clean rooms. Very good conferencepossibilities. The staff of the hotell makes a big difference - they are all very proffessional and friendly - excellent service!

    « A Nice stay »

Been here for 12 days, the staff is Making this hotel really special, they are very kind and helpful, always smiling. The breakfast is good, a lot of options. The cleaning ladys are cleaning everyday and its always nice and clean. I Would Love to come back here for another stay just because of the wonderful service here. / Chantal Nakhle

« Ok for its money... »

If you looking for something not very expensive and very central to glyfada this is the best hotel you will find.I stayed there with my wife and I was a bit disappointed, from the dirty carpet to the blocked toilet. The cleaning lady used to come and clean for 5 mins and then gone.Very loud noise when you seat on the balcony from the main road of posidonos...Another thing that didn't look good to my eyes was,the prostitutes standing one block away from the hotel waiting for the next client. Its not a nice image when you have small kids and etc...I'm sure hotel fenix had its glory days but not anymore!

    2
« Old tired business hotel with great staff »

Located next to throughfare, next to lights: revving motorcycle noise bothered me all night, couldn't sleep especially with jet lag. Room OK but bed is very hard. Major problem: there is a shaft in the bathroom for steam evacuation which is connected to all rooms below/above. I has a non-smokimg room but smoke was infiltrating from smoking rooms below. Smell was untolerable. If you're non-smoker, make sure you close that shaft tight - you have to go into the bath to see it. Elevators are slow, took stairs all the time, even up to my 5th floor. Nevertheless, personnel was excellent. Rooms very well maintained and clean.

    3
    « Great budget hotel »

I stayed at this hotel for three nights. Hotel was clean and had everything that I needed. A ten or fifteen minute walk to the centre of Glyfada and just across the street to catch the tram to the centre of Athens. Maybe it is true that certain areas needs a refurbishment but I strongly recommend this hotel. It is very worth it especially during this time of year.

    5
« Very comfortable to stay great atmosphere »

This hotel I stayed at was only for a couple nights, but it had everything going for it, park across the road at Glyfada, not ot mention only a stone through is the waterfront , with the marina great restuarants, also fantastic to walk by the marina and the beach. The stuff at the hotel made me fill at home they were very helpfull and hospitable. Room service was great,Wile on my 3 months holliday here in Greece I did spent some time at this hotel after moving around Greece and coming to this hotel to relax and fill comfortable.

    4
    « Convenient stay »

The hotel is situated just off a busy highway in Glyfada, but it was not too noisy and certainly did not stop us sleeping nor did it wake us early. The sea is across the road and the shopping centre about 20 minutes walk away.It is a nicer place to stay than central Athens which is about 20 minutes away by taxi. The hotel itself has a small pool and terrace. The room was absolutely fine and the place was clean and tidy. The lift was possibly the smallest I have ever been in, but it worked. The staff were uniformly very pleasant and helpful and all spoke excellent English. The price was very competitive and the service was excellent.

    3
    « Outdated »

Friendly and helpful staff but the hotel needs renovation. The décor is very outdated, especially for the price. This seems to be common in the area. Air-con did not seem to work properly in one room and neither did the key card. Next to a big busy road.

  • 4
« Good Option To Unwind »

I booked this hotel for two nights before heading to the islands. I go yearly and wanted a hotel that would help me get over the jet lag. The hotel was a good choice for this. Rooms are clean, pool area nice, across from the tram to get around Athens. Not much in walking distance so must take tram most places. I wished there was a kiosk or something close by for snacks or water. Closer to Glyfada square than downtown Athens. Breakfast was good but chaotic. Tons of tables not cleared not enough places clean for people to sit on the morning I went. Staff friendly. Wifi ok but kept kicking me off. If looking for just a quick break to relax and not necessarily sightsee this a good hotel. If looking for beach or sight seeing I'd pick a different hotel.

    3
« Disappointing in such an upmarket town »

Our stay was ok, but the whole hotel is in dire need of an upgrade. Fixtures and fittings are shabby, décor is tired, as are the staff. In such a vibrant, upmarket town with fantastic, modern restaurants and bars, I am amazed that the hotels are not up to the same standard. Hotel staff were courteous, but nothing more, the restaurant was depressing and the breakfast so bad that we only ate there on the first day, despite it being included in our package. This hotel desperately needs some love (and investment) and it could easily stand out from the crowd.

    « ANOTHER (2) GREAT STAYS!!!'nn »

This summer we had the good fortune of staying twice at the Fenix. It was awesome BOTH times!!!! We stayed from August 24-26 and September 6-10. As usual, the service was exceptional, the room very clean and the staff very welcoming and friendly. We wouldn't stay at any other hotel:-)))

    3
    « Satisfactory »

Overall satisfied with the hotel and the facilities. Staff were pleasant. Wasn't expecting The Ritz with a Michelin Star restaurant Room was clean and spacious, proximity to transportation was good. Breakfast was adequate and as expected, dinner was also pleasant. Overall a good budget conscious choice that didn't disappoint.
