The room was clean and spacious. The Pool was my favorite part as it was clean and long enough to swim short laps, the atmosphere was relaxing because of all the greenery used to decorate the pool area...the pool was excellent! Breakfast was good and we enjoyed eating in the outdoor courtyard.
Terrible mattresses in room. Room not clean. Carpet worn and torn in room. Breakfast terrible- outsourced for burritos and set up table at check in counter. Overall not a good experience. Checked out after first night instead of staying 3.
We stay at this hotel frequently, although there are a number of hotels to chose from. We always have excellent service, friendly staff and a great selection of breakfast options from which to choose. We will continue to stay here often.
Quiet hotel with ample parking. Well lit and safe. Inside is beautiful with an atrium, pool, and patio area with grills. This hotel is great for business travelers, families, or couples. It really has everything.
We had a very comfortable stay and a lovely quiet room at the back of the hotel. The room was a great size and very clean. The breakfast was very good and you order off the menu so it's very fresh and the kitchen staff were very nice.
We only had one night stay but would recommend for a long term stay to explore local area. Good location between Roswell and Carlsbad Caverns. Complimentary full service cooked to order breakfast at attached restaurant.
This hotel is not a good example of a Best Western. The lobby area is wonderful and the pool area really nice, although the hot tub didn't work. The jets were broken and the water cold. The girl at the desk did offer to add hot water to it. Really? While the lobby and outside are nice, the rooms are very dated and were poorly remodeled and look patched together. The threshold of our room was uneven and could have been tripped on. Our smoke detector was totally missing which is a MAJOR safety issue! While taking my shower the water went cold, hot, super hot, cold. We also had to call a couple of times about a barking dog down the hall, which eventually was taken care of. On top of all that add the poor limited breakfast choices with ridiculous up charges…. This hotel was a real disappointment! If you're visiting Artesia, chose a different hotel. There are a number of other places to pick from!
The stay was absolutely wonderful up until the shower. The service at the restaurant at dinner was a little slow, but the staff was nice. The pool was a bit cold, but beautiful. The hot tub was very nice and our main attraction to all hotels. The problem was with a broken air conditioner in our room and the main safety issue with the shower in our room. My husband was severely burned by the hot water. We were just so very thankful it wasn't our young daughter who showered first because she could have been severely injured. My husband did report the issue upon checkout, and an apology was offered. However, it didn't seem like there would be an intent to report the serious issue and get it fixed, and we absolutely need to make this known before someone is seriously injured.
The rooms were clean and we were so glad there was a pool and hottub. We wished however, that there was continental breakfast rather than the restaurant. The food took forever and it wasn't the greatest.
We had a nice, quiet stay at this location while passing through New Mexico. Thank you Robin and Kalie for the friendly, courteous, and helpful service! What a treat to also have a relaxing, sit-down breakfast at the adjoining restaurant - a change from the traditional continental breakfast we usually have.
Hey I really liked this one! Breakfast in restaurant - great. Rooms have Keurig coffee makers - yay! Comfy bed - yass! Pretty hotel, not your cookie cutter BW! I want to come again and spend more time.
Good stay. Great room. The staff was not as friendly as usual. Very good breakfast. Interesting hotel, it looked like a converted and updated Embassy Suites. We stayed on our way to the mountains of New Mexico.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Pecos Inn. It is a nice quiet motel in a good location off of the busiest roads. Loved that they had a list of nearby restaurants as we arrived around 7pm and needed to eat. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic. Instead of the usual cold cereal bar and maybe a waffle maker, you ordered off a menu and they brought out nice hot food. Would definitely stay here again!
After our encounter at the last hotel in Alamosa Colorado, This place gave us our faith back in the hospitality industry. The front desk were very genial and gave us tips on where to eat and were exuding good cheer. The room was great and the breakfast was a good one at their restaurant. We thought that this hotel was perfect for where we were and convenient to Carlsbad Caverns, White Sands and Riodoso or Roswell. When we explore this part of the country again we will remember this place and stay here.
Stayed 6 days, nice room. Very quiet and comfortable, cool and clean. Staff were polite, friendly, and professional. Had a minor bathroom issue, called the front desk, maintenance arrived within 2 minutes! Had breakfast twice in the attached restaurant, nice.
The Best Western in Artesia has huge rooms. Ours even had a wet bar outside the full bathroom. Beds are comfortable. The room is clean. The shower head is high and the water pressure is good. Once the pool opens up after Covid restrictions are ended, it will be a lovely place to relax, indoors but with a tropical feel and natural light. Breakfast food choices are good and tasty.
Great facility, great people and great food. This is a hidden gem in a small town. Locals eat here every day for all meals, that will tell you how good and what a great value the food is. Hotel architecture is unique, modern and very sharp.
The free breakfast is supplied by the attached restaurant. Staff at the restaurant didn't want to serve non paying customers. Our food was slopped into containers and not on plates like the paying customers.
I booked this hotel based on reviews and was glad I did! The room itself was comfortable and quiet. I liked the courtyard area outside the room. It was a nice place to sit and noise was not an issue. Because it was winter, we could not take advantage of the pool area. The best part are the breakfast choices. I'm tired of the standard breakfast that is offered at most hotels. Here, you get a choice of items that are made to order and the portions are generous. This was the best breakfast we had on our four-day trip. We ate at the same restaurant for dinner and it was also reasonably priced and tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located and I would happily stay here again.
Very clean and quiet. Has a lounge and restaurant in the building. Pool is huge, not your usual kidney style. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Several 2 bedroom suites are available that I did not see in the website.
Whenever I am in Artesia, this is the hotel I use. We have family reunions in Artesia every year and this hotel is the most accommodating and friendliest hotel in town, by far! There is an actual restaurant in the hotel where you get a free hot or cold breakfast served to you at your table. There are 7 choices from a menu that you can choose from and all are a good portion and delicious. I've never had a bad meal!! AND it's complementary!! They have one of the biggest indoor pools I've seen in a hotel and there is a hot tub available next to it. Beautifully maintained, as is all the property. The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are comfortable. I've never had a problem with anything at this hotel and I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone!!!
Decided to book in the next town and was so pleased we did. This hotel was very impressive. Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. Others meals were available too. The room was quite large, clean and comfortable. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. We were very impressed with everything and will be back next year to stay here while in the area. I did put a very good for location only because we actually were about 50 miles from the Caverns, but we will stay there again to visit Carlsbad next year.
Had a great one night stay here on our way to Carlsbad Caverns. Loved pool and hot tub, great free breakfast, frig and micro in room. Large outdoor patio are with BBQs, and indoor patio for relaxing. Highly recommend!
Being recently refurbished this is a fresh and modern hotel to stay at. Pool and hot tub excellent, good temperature and clean. Rooms good but bathrooms very small for the size of the room. Only 2 storeys but be aware there is no elevator. Our only criticism is breakfast we were given vouchers and told we could order and it would be freshly cooked. I don't know their motive for this, but in our opinion it just didn't work. We ordered cereal and toast (option 7), the cereal was stale and there was far too much of it, my husband asked for scrambled eggs with his toast and after a sharp intake of breath this was agreed to. We just didn't like the total inflexibility of the situation, it might suit some but not for us thanks!
Not only were the people at the front desk friendly but also made some great recommendations for places to eat. I was extremely satisfied with the room and how quiet it was. Everything was clean. The only “thing “ that I didn't like was how small the bathroom was. That was the only drawback.
The price is reasonable. We were all very surprised at how nice the rooms are & the dining area. We even overheard another guest complimenting how nice it is.My mother in law is 93 & our room was ADA perfect. I highly recommend this hotel.
I made reservations in advance and stayed for a few days. This place was very nice. The facility was kept up very nicely. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the climate control worked wonderfully. The breakfast set up was new to me, but I loved it; use the coupon provided by the front desk and have you breakfast made to order at the restaurant at the hotel. Everyone was pleasant. If I were to return to the area I would definitely stay here again.
The staff (especially the staff in the restaurant) was very nice to us. The property is well kept and seemed fairly new. Everything was very clean. The restaurant is good and the included breakfast was great.
Shout out to Jennifer for helping us when booking.com over booked and left us looking for a place to stay. The hotel had a great pool, friendly employees and rooms were very quiet and comfortable. I would recommend staying and they also have a good breakfast. Thank you!!!
When you book a room at a certain price, beware, it's probably going to increase with no warning when you check in. We booked through the hotel and there was no mention that the price would change from what we though we would be paying. We talked to the front desk and nobody did anything nor did they seem to care. We where not the only ones they did this to. There were other guests talking to the front desk that had the same problem.
We were traveling with 4 adults and a dog. Our son had the dog their room had tiled floors what a great idea! The lobby decor was inviting, the rooms comfy. You could relax outside with a grill/sitting area. We had breakfast in the atrium with our son's dog, the waitress was very accomidating! But the clincher was we were moving our son and his fiance, I had left a family ship heirloom in our room. When I realized and called 36 hours later Karen went and retrieved it. Sandy a employee returned it back to my son's fiance in Lubbock! Cannot thank them enough. I have left things at other hotels before never to be seen again! They deserve 10 stars ! Thank you to a great staff keep up the good work, believe it or not you make a difference!
Clean rooms. Good Kureg coffee. Great home cooked breakfast with lots of choices. Restaurant coffee not so good. But restaurant serves good food. Coffee, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner were not replaced 2nd day. Beautiful area of plants and light to relax.
It was for 1 night as we were passing through and wanted to see Carlsbad caverns. We made reservations for one night in Artesia Best Western. It was very clean and the receptionist was very professional and knowledgeable about the local area. She even recommended an excellent restaurant for a delicious meal. When in the area, this is the place to stay for us.
We thorughly enjoyed everything about this hotel. It has a beautiful lobby/pool/atrium area and the entire hotel is fresh and inviting. General Manager Sandy is delightful and a fount of information about the area and Robin and Kristen are very efficient and friendly with the check-in/checkout process. We will definitely stay here again.
This location should be first choice when staying in this area. The property is extremely well maintained. The room are clean, everything works lighting is good. This is important to me because I ravel for business 80% of the time. Reservations are always correct. I have never had an error in my reservations. Other chains I never know what room I will have when I arrive. The free breakfast is always excellent, you never have surprises.
This is a great hotel. The room we stayed in was very clean and spacious. The inner courtyard is also a fun space. Overall a fresh and inviting property. The front desk staff is very well trained and attentive. I felt very welcomed upon arrival. The staff is very warm overall. We look forward to returning!
My room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The lady at check-in was amazing and checkout was a breeze. The complimentary breakfast was pretty okay. Not a huge selection but the portions were huge and tasty. Will most definitely stay here again if I'm ever in the area.
Breakfast was slow. It is not a traditional continental breakfast . Dining room was not clean at all. Vagrants in the parking lot. The room was remodeled recently and was clean and nice. However the price was too high. Especially considering going to the car felt risky.
They have really improved the lobby, the rooms are clean, but need updates to match the beautiful lobby. The pool was cloudy and cold. My brother showed up after 3 pm to register and was told his room would be clean in 20 minutes. Over 1.5 hours later he finally got into his room. No effort was made to speed their cleaning, they just continued in order down the hall even with the knowledge there was a customer sitting in the lobby waiting.
The breakfast at this hotel is second to none. Excellent hot tub and lounge area. Request room on first floor because there is no elevator. Room condition was good. Heater worked well. Bathroom was clean. Staff is friendly.
Hotel was awesome, no complaints --- But the breakfast place is terrible, very bad service, no smiling, no greetings... The waiter literally threw my plate and the toast fell on the table, she was like oh....thats it. I had to apologise myself for being in this situation. Coffee was poured, but I had to wait for 20 mins for the milk/creamer, no silverware until asked, she forgot our juice. Over all it was very very unpleasant, I wish we could have gone outside to other restaurants. Wasted lot of time here. I think the management has to take notice of this, and get rid of this whole breakfast place. But overall the hotel is very very nice and our stay was very comfortable minus this breakfast debacle.
The Best Western in Artesia is a great place to stay. The rooms are large; clean; and a good size for a family of three. The beds were comfortable. Our room had a wet bar area outside of the bathroom, providing an extra sink. The included breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. We stayed here while visiting Carlsbad Caverns and were very pleased with our stay.
Had a decent stay at this hotel. Room was pretty clean, spacious, and it met my needs. A lot of the features in the room were older, but well maintained and taken care of. It had more modern decor and a nice set of common areas like lobby and pool. The breakfast is a made to order type - included in the room rate. You get about a half dozen or so choices from a select menu. Food was fair and warm. Unlike most hotel breakfast settings, you need to leave a gratuity for the waitress, but it was nice to be served for a change. I would stay here again if in Artesia. I travel extensively for my work, and provide reviews for EVERY hotel I stay at - both good and bad. I use TripAdvisor quite often in my bookings of hotels, and reviewing is a great way to give back to the TripAdvisor community. I give honest and frank reviews.
Our hotel was easy to find and our room was very clean and nice. We traveled to Artesia to meet with family that live there and they joined us in the afternoon/evening time to visit and share a pizza etc. We loved the pool area and all the room in the middle of the hotel for sitting around a table together is amazing. They (BW) are remodeling but we never heard any noise or had any issues with that. We really enjoyed the pool area, it was heated perfectly! I want to take the mattress home, it was so comfortable! We will be back!
While dealing with the final stages of remodeling, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The cooked-to-order breakfast from a guest menu was perfect. We liked the property so much that re-routed our return to the westcoast to stay there a second time. This is the prettiest, and largest motel I've ever experienced in 60-some years of traveling the country. The rooms are spacious, the guest toiletries were superior quality, and the two large indoor courtyards are unique!
Hotel is very clean and staff is friendly. Relaxed in the hot tub and swam in the warmed pool. Complimentary breakfast was delicious and the waitresses were polite and wonderful. Will stay here when I visit again.
This hotel is under remodel, when I made the reservation I was told they were under construction. Who cares the room was fantastic and the staff was wonderful. The bed was comfortable. The staff in the restaurant was very friendly. This is the best of the best for this hotel chain. I would stay here again in a heart beat.
Hotel was being renovated and the entire central courtyard was full of boxes and construction materials. No elevator, had to climb a steep flight of stairs with suitcases. Coffee maker was full of old water and smelly. Water was undrrinkabble. Decor was ugly and was recently renovated. Should fire the decorator. Workmanship of new construction was shoddy. Drippy paint, baseboard wiring. Ceiling was still popcorn and had water stains. Was like putting lipstick on a pig. When we wanted Wi-Fi we called the front desk and they told us that we needed to call the Wi-Fi provider to get Ed access code. We did that got the access code. Why they couldn't of done it I don't know. In the morning we had breakfast and they're connected restaurant which was very shabby. The waitress came up and told us there was water damage from the night before and said we only have breakfast burritos. She brought us the burrito wrapped in foil. No plate When we wanted Wi-Fi we called the front desk and they told us that we needed to call the Wi-Fi provider to get an access code. We did that got the access code. This was not a cheap hotel paid $147 for the pleasure of the stinker place
Great value compared to other properties in the surrounding areas. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Had the appearance and feel of a higher end hotel. Was never able to connect to internet/free wifi but cell reception was good so didn't bother to ask for assistance.
Pleasant staff with friendly service. The rooms cleaned daily. Nice and clean towels. Newly renovated rooms with comfortable bed. Breakfast was nice and hot. Convenient parking. Best rates available in Pecos,Texas.
We chose this Best Western because it's pool looked amazing and the kids wanted to swim, it was a little out of our way. Upon Arrival we learned the pool was closed on a holiday weekend. The staff did not know when it would be opened only that no one had been there to fix it. It was closed all three days we were there. The waitress for breakfast messed up our order both days. First day eggs over cooked no biggie, she brought more out. Second day she said my son ordered it incorrectly. I heard him when he ordered it. She did not offer to fix it and argued that it was our fault. She was the only waitress serving and was a little busy, but everyone else looked like they had been served and it took ten minutes before she even acknowledged us. We tipped her well the first day, but smaller tip the next day.
Lobby under construction and the pool is closed. Expensive to stay there enroute to Carlsbad Caverns, for the quality of the stay. Staff did not know discount policies and overall would not recommend this hotel until its finished being remodeled
Stayed here for one night and was really disappointed in pretty much everything about our stay. The main courtyard area had been converted to a holding area for new furniture and basically made the whole property look like it was under construction. The pool was closed and rooms we're really out of date and not what i could consider clean.
Stayed one night. Hallway smell like stale smoke lingering the air. The pool area was hot and very muggy. The plants are real creating the muggy atmosphere. By the hot tub it smelled like pee. Their vent and ceiling in the pool have black mold growing from the muggy stale air. There was a guy tring to creep around us taking photographs with his cell phone. Rooms very are dated. Beds were not comfortable at all old tiled shower tub combo. The only thing good i can say was the breakfast, was really good.
This is a great little hotel situated nicely between Carlsbad and Roswell NM. If you looking for a place to set camp for a few days this would settle well. Hotel is very close to a Walmart, and plenty of food options. Pool is really nice. Hotel was going thru a remodel when I was there. I do believe when they get it done it will be an even better hotel.
This hotel is very close to well-known tourist areas: Carlsbad Caverns and west Texas parks. The pool is very nice as well as the room locations and restaurant/bar. Close to town and the statues for a walking tour.
I reserved 2 rooms for the same night. Upon arrival, room 1 room had 6 live flies buzzing around the room, a dead fly in the bathtub and a live centipede circling the dead fly in the tub. The room also had a sour smell. Room 2 had a dead cockroach on the bathroom floor under the sink. Rooms were dingy and very dated. The recliner chairs in both rooms were kinda gross. We checked in late so we had to just deal with it. The next morning we tried breakfast at the restaurant. After ordering, we noticed, once again, dead bugs lying around the restaurant floor. We were afraid to eat anything out of the kitchen at this point and just got up and left. The staff was friendly, but I cannot recommend this hotel due to the bug problems.
We have stayed in 7 different hotels in the last 3 weeks, and this hotel had the nicest pool and lounge area by far. The pool was super, but was closed for unscheduled maintenance our 2nd day. The rooms were very nice, spacious, and clean. We really enjoyed our room and stay here. Staff was very friendly, for the most part (see below). The reason I am giving the hotel a 4 out of 5 is due to the unscheduled maintenance of the pool and the quality of the food in the restaurant. The restaurant gives you a few choices for your complimentary breakfast, but they were out of some of the items, so the choices were even more limited. The quality of the food also was only so-so. We ended up eating cold cereal the 2nd day, for none in our group liked what they had got the day before. Free breakfast tasted like a FREE breakfast. Waitress staff was also not the friendliest. We stay at again, but will budget additional funds to eat somewhere else.
Friendliest staff, great restaurant with great food, and pet friendly> Accomodates every need. Large courtyard area. Perfect outdoor space, (inside) Highly recommend this Best Western. Will be our go to in Artesia from now on.
I stayed at the Best Western Pecos Inn for one night on my way to Carlsbad Caverns. Hotels in Artesia are much less expensive compared to Carlsbad, and its only and extra 20 min on the road. Well worth the drive. This hotel is very clean and quiet. Free parking and free WiFi are offered. Hot breakfast is included each morning and is cooked to order in the hotel restaurant called “roadrunners”. I definitely recommend staying here if traveling through Southeastern New Mexico.
The property is in good condition and the staff is courteous and helpful. Pool and courtyard are very appealing. Beds are too soft and we did not sleep very well. Free Breakfast was great, ordering from the menu! Cooked to order!
Stayed 5-10-18. The check in lady was nice and friendly as well informative and let us check in early. Room nice and clean and water very very hot. The beds were easy to sleep on. The one draw back was the room above people walking around noise till late. The no cost breakfast is served in a cafe located within the motel. You order off a menu which has a nice selection and it is prepared per order and is quite good. Except for the ceiling noise I would have rated this place excellent
This hotel was a great place to stay. Staff was very warm and welcoming. The room was spacious and quiet. We would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to stay. And we would stay here again.
We booked and paid online for a king room with whirlpool tub. upon checking in we were given a handicap double room. We were told that we would have to pay extra to upgrade. We had already paid extra when booking! So not to argue we took the room. The room was clean with average accommodations. Except it was a handicap room and we didn't need the handicap accommodations. The coffee pot was in the bathroom (yuck). The commode leaked water in the floor every time it flushed. While showering if the room next door flushed, you were sprayed with scalding hot water. We told the lady at the front fest and she said maintenance would fix it...they didn't. Breakfast was average. The staff was all friendly but we will not stay there again.
When traveling in the west, we normally pick best western. Very rarely do we see something new, but at this facility, not only a pool and all of the amenities, but they also had a place where guests could have a BAR BQ. What a way to relax after a day of driving. When we come back, we will certainly stop here again. Another thought, when booking this facility you want a non-smoking room, make sure you request one.
The room was by the pool, but quiet. Free WIFI and the air conditioner works real well. It's right on the road, but no road noise at all. If all you want is a decent place to spend the night... this is your place... plus a good breakfast before you go... the earlier the better.
The location is perfect no matter where you're coming in from. Easy parking and great hot breakfast. The staff is so WONDERFUL! We traveled 20 hours to Artisia regarding a family emergency & they welcomed us with open doors at 2:00am. Thank you, Paula, for making us feel at home and making sure we were settled. I dearly appreciate it when someone goes out of their way and she certainly did! I highly recommend this hotel.
We went to Carlsbad Caverns and the hotels in Carlsbad $300-400 a night. We drive to Artesia which is not that far away. The hotel was great and the staff were very polite. Indoor pool and hot tub. There is a cafe inside the hotel and your stay includes a free breakfast. Thus is a real breakfast, not the usual make your own waffles a 2nd powdered watery eggs. REAL FOOD. All hotels should be like this.
I LOVED IT here!! Felt like home and Super comfortable! The staff was fantastic! It felt to quaint, safe and super comfortable!! One of the best beds! I will definitely come back here again! 5 stars all the way around!! Thank you for appreciating your guests!
We stayed here because it was in between Carlsbad & White Sands parks. We were given a standard room but it was next to a noisy person. We were looking forward to soaking in the hot tub but that was out of order. My boyfriend went to the front desk and let them know we were unhappy so they upgraded the room to one with a jetted tub in the room. It was lovely ?? The room was quiet & the bed very comfortable
This should be the standard that all hotels are judged by. This location has the best breakfast for free of any hotels I've visited. The property is extremely clean well maintained even if it is an older location. the staff is as good as I have ever experienced. They make you feel like you are at home. It's my favorite location and I look forward to visits here. I never have mix us with reservations.
We had a great stay at the Pecos Inn. The atrium is a great place to gather with family. It was so nice to have a full breakfast each morning to start our day with. There was something on the menu for all of my family. It is rare to see a sit down breakfast at a hotel these days so that added touch was much appreciated.
Stayed at the Pecos Inn in Artesia NM as a halfway point on our Christmas visit to Texas. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We travel with our small dog and as usual we had no problems having him join us. They have an onsite restaurant that serves good food and the provided breakfast is "order off an abbreviated menu" that was good as well. The restaurant staff was also very friendly and helpful. And if you are so inclined they have a full bar and lounge that you can relax in. We have booked for our return trip and expect another great experience.
We stayed in the suite and it was clean, comfortable and quiet. It was nice to have a made to order breakfast free every morning too! There is a kitty that lives on the premises...so if you are allergic you may want to stay away. But otherwise, she was very friendly and even followed us into our room for a visit.
Outstanding features of Pecos Inn are made-to-order breakfast with seven meal selections and two beautiful atriums, one covered and one open air with BBQ grill. Great places to relax and talk. Also a nice pool and hot-tub area.
Needed accommodations for us and our pooch, this place did a wonderful job. Very well maintained and comfortable, great beds, nice breakfast, flawless in cleanliness and comfort. Artesia is a lovely town!
This was my second stay at this property. This trip included my two bird dogs. So, a reasonable walking area close by was important and this BW has what you need. If you are pulling a trailer, whether a camper or utility trial, this place is also for you, I get down tho this area 2 or 3 times a year and use to stay elsewhere. I will continue to use the BW Pecos Inn and will also continue to refer my friends there.
Though an older hotel, this facility is well maintained and well run. An excellent value. I appreciated that they are dog friendly, as I come to this area several times a year to quail hunt. The breakfasts are hearty, and prepared individually from 7 fixed menu choices by the chef. No boring buffets here.
There are several "newer" facilities in the area. The Best Western Pecos Inn in Artesia NM offers quite rooms, a safe and secure feeling. Offers a dining room with a full menu which is great after traveling all day.
As I stay in motels all over Texas to Florida and back I am always satisfied with the kind of service Sandy and Robin give me and my employees. They always go out of there way to make sure we are all satisfied with are stay. Again thank you Sandy and Robin.
The Pecos Inn was the host hotel for the Tunes and Balloons Rally in Artesia. They provided very good services to us all, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The meeting areas well set up. Staff is very friendly and helpful, especially the ladies in the Coffee Shop. The Front Desk staff registered me for the Best Western Rewards program when she found out that I was not yet a member.
Room was clean and taken care of. The lobby, pool and atrium area was all very clean. All facilities seemed to be taken care of. The negative is the strong smell of smoke. Very friendly staff. The restaurant could use some improvements on speed and food. Plenty of food but my eggs were crunchy today and yesterday runny. Ordered them exactly the same.
Arrived to Artesian and our motel. Our son and girlfriend were staying with us for our trip to the Carlsbad cavern. The room we chose was double greens. The room was nicely appointed and of decent size. Beds were comfortable but the pillows were soft and flat when you laid your head down. The breakfast was great. You get coupons for breakfast and go use in their restaurant. You get choice of 7 meals on weekends and they are made fresh to order. One meal has two eggs, toast, choice of meat and hash browns. Others are French toast or pancakes. Easy check in and check out. Good location.
Driving from Austin TX to Tucson AZ and needed a place to stay. I am a BestWestern Rewards member and was directed to this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised of the amenities here. An indoor pool and huge banquet areas. There was a family reunion staying here and they all seemed happy about staying there. The breakfast was very good and the service was fast and friendly. Overall I would stay there again if I was in the area.
I was traveling on business and actually moved from one local hotel to Best Western because I had a bad experience in the first hotel. . Best Western is older but has a very nice pool, hot tub, and atrium. The breakfast is restaurant style-- you get a choice from a menu. There is a microwave and small refrigerator in the room. I am traveling with a cat, so seeing the friendly resident cat was reassuring. I found the staff helpful and the rooms were clean. There is a smell of cigarette smoke in the halls from a time when cigarette smoking was more common. I didn't notice it in any of the rooms or other areas. The pool and hot tub were nice. I would stay here again.
Only there one night but would stay there again when in the area. Clean and comfortable, more than adequate, large room, easy location. Breakfast was "restaurant style" with a limited number of choices. Would stay there again/
Spent two nights here while visiting Roswell and Carlsbad Caverns. Very nice hotel, clean and spacious rooms. Front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. Nice exercise room, pool and hot tub. Bar and restaurant attached. Breakfast in the restaurant was included in our room stay. Nice hot, full breakfast - three selections to choose from. Stopped in the bar for a margarita before heading out to see the cute downtown and dinner. Very enjoyable!
one of the very few motels that have recliners in the rooms... i can actually sleep comfortably! (bad back, sleep apnea) otherwise good staff, good setting etc.artesia motels are a little pricey compared to nearby cities, but high demand (large petroleum industry in area) gets reflected by higher prices.
The room and amenities were very good. The staff were very helpful and polite. I would recommend this hotel over any other for those visiting Carlsbad Caverns and/or Guadalupe Mountains NP. It is a bit further than those in Carlsbad or Whites City, but the room was comfortable and less expensive than those in the other cities.
My daughter and I were on the tail end of our road trip...total of 8 states. Artesia, NM was our last hotel after 10 days of driving. It was a Best Western so I figured it would be average. We were wrong! Not only did it have all we needed in the room (microwave, fridge, and kitchen sink), but the breakfast (individually cooked in the kitchen) and the fitness room were a bonus! The only think I wasn't sure about was the cat that wandered into the lounge around 8pm.
We traveled 10 hours to check in to a hotel that the elevator doesn't work and I have an elderly with me and 2 children. i had to lug all our luggage flight of stairs. Get to room and I requested room with fridge because my daughter is Type 1 Diabetic and have to keep insulin cold. Fridge wont work. The air has been down on 61 for hour and still the room is HOT. all the vending machines are empty. LIKE literally empty. The carpet in the room has a inch of dust on it. The hotel reeks of smoke when you walk in. This gives Best Western a Terrible name. There is a reason we always stay with Holiday Inn.
The rooms were pretty good, bed soft enough and the shower was good but the best part of our experience at this particular best western was the breakfast... The hotel is attached to a restaurant and you receive coupons for your breakfast... Much better than the usual breakfast
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a great stay, very clean, with comfortable beds and good food, a complete gym to workout. The pool was nice with beautiful plants surrounding. I will return to this hotel.
Nice open layouts, family was very comfortable, the spacious rooms allowed everyone to have room to relax and not fret over personal space issues, food was great, hit tub nice and hot and everything worked
The location is just west of the historic downtown. There is plenty of parking, a restaurant and lounge and there are gas stations and a grocery store nearby. They have a friendly house cat sometimes wandering the check-in and sunny atrium.
We couldn't find a room in Carlsbad so we used Expedia to reserve here, we reserved the suite for 99$ it was huge, clean and quiet. On the drive here I hit a deer and messed up my car, my husband had to drive to Roswell to get my car to the shop and find us a rental car. The front desk was so accommodating to let us stay late, and make sure we had enough breakfast for all our family. Breakfast was quick and easy. My only complaint was the lack of elevators. This hotel Is super cute and airy, I also seen a kitty wondering around but it was 130am so I was too tired to go love him! Thank you Best Western!
One of the best hotels. Clean, quiet, friendly staff, great facilities. My husband used the pool which was sparkling clean. My son used the workout room which good. We had breakfast in the restaurant attached. Front desk issues coupons which you redeem for a free breakfast. We had 6 items to choose from for breakfast which was so much nicer than the typical breakfast with most hotels.
I found a dead cockroach in the room on the floor. Dirty room. When I told the front desk person she asked if I wanted a maid to remove it. I said no I would like a new room. She seemed very put out and never even apologized about the roach. I did get a new room. I also asked for another breakfast coupon bc she only gave me two instead of the three. Instead of apologizing and giving me one she argued and said I did give you three. I insisted and she finally gave me the 3rd one. She had attitude! I would never recommend this hotel!!
Love this hotel! The pool and breakfast keep us coming back every time. We stay here several times each summer. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Love the rewards programs as well! Best western goes above and beyond!
The room was clean and nicely decorated. Kids really enjoyed the pool and spa. Breakfast was great with great service. Would recommend the hotel and especially the breakfast which was made fresh for us.
I have always thought of Artesia as a dusty oil town in the southeast part of the state. That's because my travel was limited to highway 285. Last Tuesday, I had to drive through "town" to go to the Best Western. What a pleasant surprise to see all the nicely done shops and restaurants. I was even more surprised to see the BW and its interior. I have stayed in a lot of BW's the past 3 years and this one rates at the top. Spacious, modern, and clean. Unfortunately, my arrival was late and the in house restaurant had already closed for the evening and, admittedly, I was too tired to enjoy a cold one at the cozy bar. When my travels get me in this area again this will be a definite overnight stop.
The stay was great very relaxing. They had my breakfast ready by a 6:30am & where very friendly. Will for sure stay again. The only down fall was the pool was packed with outsiders & never had towels.
Fantastic staff, good location, good facility amenities (pool, gym, sitting areas), but the mattresses and pillows need replacing with better quality items. We are vegetarians and the desk staff knew just where to send us for a good meal. Hotel has obviously been renovated from an older building but they need to get better mattresses. After all, that's what you are really paying for.
I have been staying at this facility since 1993. It is an older facility but its very well maintained. I think its much better than any of the newer locations in town. They have a very good breakfast. The entire staff is exceptional.
Very great place to stay with Children. The manager was very kind and helpful and understanding after I accidentally booked by phone and the app. Great warm breakfast too with a waffle station the children enjoyed! The TV in the breakfast room was also great and they open at 6 am for early birds like us needing to leave quickly.
I've stayed in almost every state and in several countries. This Pecos Inn has no peers in hoteldom! Quiet, clean, big rooms, decent food and a great little lounge. I love this place and the people who run it!
This place far exceeded our expectations! Pool was excellent and open...complimentary breakfast was a made to order breakfast with several options. Room was nice. Staff was very friendly and nice with the exception of Paula, the overnight clerk. She was VERY rude and upon reporting her behavior at checkout we find that they get lots of complaints about her. Suggestion to management...get rid of Paula if she does not enjoy helping your guests. Do that and you've got one GREAT hotel.
I wish I could give this hotel a higher mark because the beds are excellent, breakfast (cooked to order) outstanding, and staff friendly. But the sound proofing seemed non-existent. We asked for another room when we could hear footsteps upstairs, toilet flushing on one side, and voices on the other. The desk clerk kindly moved us to a room with no neighbors, which worked fine. But on a busy weekend that would not have been possible. They are remodeling the lobby but I wish they would also add sound proofing to lower rooms.
Myself and my co-workers regularly use this hotel while on business. The staff is great, and you can't beat their breakfast. It's not the continental, make your own waffle breakfast, but instead its from their on-site restaurant.
I found the Pecos Inn to be a very pleasurable experience. The front desk staff was very nice. The restaurant and lounge staff went out of thier way to serve us. The property was very clean and I felt safe. This was best stay the last 90 days I have been traveling and plan on returning.
We stayed 3 nights, comfortable beds and room had everything we needed, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker etc. Wifi worked great. Hotel's restaurant had changed, we did eat breakfast one morning there, it was good! We took advantage of the indoor pool and hot tub as well. Very nice stay
Swimming pool and commons areas are great. Rooms are maintained and were clean. Plenty of parking with or without a trailer. Staff very friendly. Only complaint is we were in a non smoking room but the hallway was very smoky.
After check-in and entering the room I would have rated the hotel 8-9 throughout, because 1. extremely friendly gentleman at check-in. 2. Interior of hotel was a total surprise. Spacious layout, lots of REAL plants in a huge atrium, nice indoor landscaping 3. large patio with grill 4. big indoor pool 5. decent sized room 6. hot breakfast cooked to order 7. my request for a quiet room was honored Unfortunately, we had an issue with breakfast coupons and were served by an impatient waitress with a sour attitude. The experience in the morning ruined our otherwise pleasant stay plus I consider a room rate of $105.00 plus tax too high for a small town. Therefore, I rate the hotel 3 out of 5. Maybe another waitress would have made things different . As already said interior of hotel and amenities were very good. From the outside hotel looked uniform as many others, but inside: what a difference. Small bathroom. My impression of the kitchenette (kitchen sink, microwave, coffeemaker and fridge): everything you may need but just put into place with an unfeeling design.
I was very happy with my stay at the Best Western Pecos Inn, Artesia, NM. The room was clean, comfortable, and up to date. The staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel did not have an elevator, we were on the first floor so that was not a problem. I would not hesitate to stay here again and would recommend this hotel.
Good clean hotel with really pleasant staff who go the extra mile. Nice large clean modern rooms with everything you need. The hotel has plenty of free parking. This hotel also has a great little diner attached to it that serves good value meals and drinks. A free hot breakfast is also served in this diner and again really nice staff.
I chose this hotel based on the reviews here on Trip Advisor. When we pulled up we began wondering if I'd made the right decision. Dated color mauve, backdoor entrance wasn't inviting. But the room was super! Two queens, very nice large recliner, two regular chairs and one computer/desk chair. Two tables, one to eat on and a nice computer desk to work on. A wet bar area with nice size refrigerator, sink and microwave. Plenty of room to move around. We were tired from our trip and didn't want to search for a place to eat so we ate at the new in-house restaurant, Lupe's. American & Mexican foods. Nice selection. My husband got the BLT with sweet potato fries and I got the one pork chop, sauteed carrots and zuchinni and garlic mashed potatoes. Great flavors and presentation. They have a lovely atrium, an indoor pool (which no one was using during the time we were there). Everyone was very friendly; however, the waitresses having their children present during the late lunch/dinner was distracting. One even hauled her little boy into the kitchen area to discipline him. Not appropriate for a restaurant. When we'd first arrived, we had to pass through at least 5 people smoking in the small area by the front door. Nasty for a restaurant. Our free breakfast was great. We had seven choices, made to order which worked out great. Good cooking. I stuck my head around the corner of the kitchen to compliment the chef. I would go back for the pool and general ambience (hoping smoking will not be present). A winter trip would be great.
I stay regularly for business. Staff is accomodating, hotel is clean and the rates are fantastic! Best Western rewards program is nice. There are several choices in Artesia but so far, I find that this hotel is the best value.
The rooms are clean, the staff is awesome! I love the atrium area of this hotel. There is a free hot breakfast in the hotel restaurant, the food was good but the restaurant staff played around the entire time we were trying to dine. This is the quietest hotel I have ever stayed at. The Cat is awesome!
What a lovely hotel! Very convenient to all the attractions in the area such as the caverns and Roswell. Breakfast is served in an on-site restaurant - excellent French toast! The hotel has a big indoor pool and spacious atrium area. The local kitty also added to the friendly atmosphere! We bought food at a market just down the street - also great! Definitely a place to stay!
First and foremost, Robin, the front desk clerk, was the sweetest person ever. She really was. Not because she went above and beyond to accommodate me, she was just an overall sweet lady. I was thinking, "she's so nice, she's the type I'd hire to babysit my kids!" Anyway...a pleasant surprise was the breakfast. It was truly a full hot breakfast, cooked to order...delicious!! For the rate, this is a great place....the bed was VERY comfortable. I liked where they had the business center, it was a nice computer and printer near the lobby, but was situated so that you didn't feel like the front desk was "monitoring" your computer use. Another little surprise, they had a little pet that hung around the property that was cute as could be, so we know they are kind to animals. I would say the only down side is...and no offense, Robin.....the property is a tad bit dated and smelled a little stale but for the rate, I'd say go for it! They also have truck parking.
Was visiting White Sands NM, We took longer than expected seeing the scenery. Our plan was to drive after from Alamogordo to Carlsbad but we were pretty beat from the day and the drive. Once you exit Lincoln National Forest the drive is pretty bland. So we decided to spend the night in Artesia. Good call, the room was clean, everything was good to go. The indoor pool was a first for us. Clean pool and recreation area. The breakfast was superb and the wait staff friendly. PS You only get 4 vouchers for breakfast.
Room was okay but overall hotel was dated. I was happy with room but cleanliness of facility needed attention. The room smelled like smoke even though is was posted as a non smoking. Swimming pool was closed. Full breakfast was a big plus. I would go back.
Large rooms, older property. Nice sized indoor pool. Complimentary breakfast was not typical buffet style continental breakfast with processed scrambled eggs. Hotel has an on-site restaurant that serves a hot breakfast, selected items are served complimentary (waffles, pancakes, eggs, breakfast burrito). Not a lot of dining options near hotel, unless you like fast food. Staff was extremely friendly.
The room was nice and if it were not for the fact that we were on the second floor our stay would have been great. We accept that special request cannot be guaranteed, however, some investigation should be done before they are denied. Not all senior citizens need ADA rooms, however, steps can be a real issue for some that are NOT in wheel chairs. It is degrading to anyone to have to practically crawl up a set of stairs to get to their room.
Nice building, good room - clean and quiet. The building has a pool, atrium lounge, atrium table and barbecue area all with a sunny spacious feeling. Staff are attentive and friendly. Our room included a hot breakfast (choose from 7 different plates - e.g. pancakes, eggs, meat, small juice and tea/coffee). Breakfast staff seemed overwhelmed, but were still attentive and pleasant. We really appreciated the breakfast because we could eat and be on our way with no additional cost. The motel is about one hour's drive from the caverns.
This has to be one of the nicest Best Westerns! We're Rewards Plus members and have stayed at a dozen BW propoerties in the last year alone - and this ranks as the best of those 12! Within an hour of arriving, I kept looking for the "Plus" designation, as that is BW's top tier - I was worried that I had booked a more 'expensive' hotel than I had anticipated. Nope. These guys are a 'normal' Best Western. But it has to be the cleanest and friendliest hotel in southeastern New Mexico - and has a LOT of amenities that set it apart. First, it looks like this hotel used to be an outside-access motel - I'm just guessing here. But the renovation was quite clever - they covered the interior courtyard and added a gorgeous guest lobby/reception area (that is HUGE and tastefully decorated with NM art). Then there is a courtyard with gas BBQ grills guests can use! Have never seen that before at a hotel! Finally, the pool is about half the size of an Olympic-sized pool, and it's COVERED! This is key in the NM sun... beautiful indoor foliage abounds and a great, super-clean, super-hot, hot tub. This place has it all! The rooms are very clean and LARGE - our came with a fridge, microwave, and sink... just loved this place - TWO desks/sitting areas in the room - folks, it was just a standard two-queen room. The breakfast is at the attached restaurant that you get vouchers for - the french toast and pancakes were fantastic and made fresh-to-order. The servers were very friendly and bent over backwards to make us feel welcome. We spent 4 fabulous nights at this hotel, and would come back here to Artesia in a heartbeat! Thank you Best Western Pecos Inn!
Due to having to move to another room in the middle of sleeping was not acceptable. There should not have been a charge for that night in Artesia, New Mexico. The breakfast was bland and had no flavor. The room smelled like urine or damp smell. The water smelled like sewer system.
My 81 year old mother and I had been traveling all day. I called the hotel about 6 to say we were going to be later than we thought. They said no problem. We got there about 10:15. I loaded ALL of our stuff on a luggage rack to take up to our room - asked where the elevator was - NO elevator. They then directed me to a stairwell VERY far from our room. After 5 trips up and down the stairs, I was hot and exhausted! Got into the room and the air conditioning was NOT on! Neither was the fridge! It was103 egrees that day. I was angry and told them so. Their response - It's supposed to be on. I'll make a note... WHOOPEE! At 6:20 the next morning, we were awakened by a fire alarm! Found a stairwell right to the left of our door - TOTAL aggravation!!! We went down to the desk and they said, we don't have the code, so we can't turn it off. REALLY? Fortunately, my mother was able to go back to sleep eventually. I however was not. So, I decided to go to the pool. NO TOWELS! I went to the front desk and had to wait 3 or 4 minutes to talk to someone behind the counter. Her reply - I don't think I have any towels here... WOW - you people are batting a thousand! WHAT A COLOSSAL disappointment!!!!!
I would say this hotel is very clean, the breakfast hardy, the staff very friendly and the price was GREAT. However, I did not give it the highest rating because all four pieces of exercise equipment were broken in some fashion or form. When traveling on long periods of time, circulation and health is very important and I had to walk the halls and stairs for exercise each night. Don't promote an exercise room if the room is not safe or equipment needs attention!
It is a little tricky to find if you are traveling north and south, because it is downtown away from the highway. The construction detours add to the aggravation but the motel is first class. I was warmly greeted by the clerk who was very helpful in finding me a room close to the outside exit door. The room was comfortable and clean and the bed was comfortable.
This hotel was very nice and clean. The room was spacious; plenty of searing and even had a recliner. I did not get a chance to exercise or get in the pool but it was very inviting. Could have had more closet space; shared with the refrigerator. Overall, this hotel is beautiful and very accommodating..
First, good location in Artesia. Second, room clean and comfortable. Third, the atrium is just gorgeous! Fourth, the "house cat" (Pecos) is positively charming and very friendly. And having a restaurant on-site was so very handy - breakfast I didn't have to prepare myself was so nice!
A run of the mill BW in Artesia .... Arrival late afternoon early departure in the morning. The young staff was helpful after the reservation and prepayment had not come in thru the BW system although they refused to give me a room before the issue was resolved although immediate further payment was offered. The hotel could use some renovations, there was a parked 18 wheeler outside my room window that ran its engine ALL night, so the background noise was intense. I do not recommend this hotel. Artesia on a Sunday night is the deadest most boring place for thousands of miles. Stay in Roswell or press on to Carlsbad.
This hotel was a very nice stay. It is a little dated, but overall it was a good value. The staff was incredible. Everyone that we had contact with was extremely courteous and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.
Thisi is a nice facility. Set up for convenience of visiting. Regular menu for breakfast is great. Open court with bbq is wonderful for everyone. Set at a quiet place in town but convenient to getting around.
We were visiting Carlsbad Caverns and decided to stay at this hotel. It is very clean and comfortable. The room we had was very spacious. Staff was very nice. They even gave us some alternatives to the in-house cafe. We had a horrible experience at the in-house cafe. There was a very young girl serving us and she seemed very flustered and was crying through our whole meal. The wait was very long since she forgot to put in our ticket. Then she did it again the next day. Otherwise the stay was great. I would recommend staying here. Thank you for a great stay Best Western.
This place was the best BW property out of the 5 that we stayed on our road trip from California to Texas. The front desk was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were accessed from the inside and they had an elevator! The free, hot breakfast was made-to-order, and included french toast, pancake and waffle options, as well as any style of eggs! The hotel also had a lounge, not your typical BW on my trip. I would recommend this place if you are in the area!
My family and I stopped by this hotel on our way to explore the Carlsbad Caverns and had no regrets with our stay. The location is right off Main Street/US-82 as you're entering Artesia from the major connecting highway (US 285) and is surrounded by all kinds of shops and tourist spots. Great restaurants, fun shopping stores, even automotive centers and a K-mart and Walmart all crowd the vicinity to make your visit here as if you're still at home. The rooms are pretty large and the beds are comfortable enough. Bathroom was on the smaller side but not so uncomfortable that it made us hate the room. I will say that we visited right at the beginning of summer so I was impressed to say the least that the A/C unit was able to cool off the room after competing against the grueling New Mexico heat. While it did get a tad stuffy during the day, especially if the blinds were wide open, at night once the sun was gone, the room got nice and frosty. If I had to complain about anything though, it would probably be the slower pace of the in-house cafe (Lupe's) where you can usually get a free meal ticket for breakfast if you ask nicely (wink-wink). It may just have been that the summer crowd in the cafe was a little more than this place usually gets, but again that might be the only area I would suggest for improvement. Other than that, this place has great accommodations, friendly staff and is located next to just about anything you need while on vacation. A shout-out goes to the pretty front-desk clerk (let's call her "D" for short) for her helpful and generous spirit! I'll definitely make this place a preferred lodging destination if I ever pass through Artesia again.
This hotel was awesome, especially for the price. For starters, the ladies at the front desk were sweet and kind. Clean room, bed, bath, towels, etc. Love to see that! The hot water is hot hot hot. Loved that too! The room is well appointed. Walls thin as noted by other guests. We didn't use the internet. I'll tell you, two of the best things were: 1. Every where we looked, it seemed as though someone was cleaning something. Floors, walls, you name it. Perhaps the big wigs were on the way. 2. The breakfast. Cooked for you in the adjoining restaurant. Yummy! If I'm ever in the neighborhood, I'll sleep here again.
Room clean Internet slow but workable. One of the better beds I've slept on. I've been staying in Midland TX.. for a couple of weeks an you had a much better mattress. They needed to rotate the mattress to move the indention around.
Never have any major problems here. Always seems to be nice and clean and everything always works well. Missed using my $25 coupon because the girl at the desk said she didnt know how to do it and I needed to print it and bring it back in the morning (her fault). In haste, I forgot at check out to present it(my fault). This is only one of a few Best westerns that never says "thanks for being a diamond member" or never offers or seems to honor any perks that most other best westerns do. The new restaurant's breakfast tasted exactly like the old one. The grill or something must be "seasoned" with some old oils or something because the hash browns and bacon have a terrible taste to them. It is the same taste. I witnessed a table of 2 give the same look as they tried the bacon and they complained about it as well. So it wasn't just me. I ate 1 slice out of 3 and one bite of hash browns. I know, how can one leave bacon on a plate? Was a sad day.
Big room, comfortable beds and a hot breakfast. No complaints here. Seemed to have a quiet barrier between rooms, what a delight! Grounds are large and the indoor atrium pool is beautiful. Large pool with skylight allows swimming year round. Vouchers are issued by the front desk for a free hot breakfast at the restaurant that is on site. Parking is easy around the entire building. All room doors are inside the building.
Outstanding Customer Service, Outstanding Pool, and Excellent Breakfast. Have stayed at 100's of hotels and this is a Gem! Even the mascot " Pecos the Cat " is great. Highly recommend this facility. Thanks for the experience
Great value but beware thin walls. Ask if there will be guests in the next room and try to get a room without neighbors if possible. Nice pool, decent breakfast and more than enough parking. Check out the self-guided walking tour brochure if you can.
I book this motel for my mother. She has COPD and has a dog. She was accommodated on the ground floor and allowed to have her dog with her in the room for $15 more. We were pleased to find the room was remodeled with new furniture. Best over all value in Artesia, NM
This hotel is well maintained. Conveniently located nearby grocery stores, food restaurants and gas stations. Rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast is better than many other hotels. Enjoyed my stay. :P.
Called the manager with an issue and she immediately made things right! Towels and bedding are comfy and the rooms are large! Great furniture decent decor. Some updates needed but as I have saw things are being worked on. Welcoming staff and I enjoyed the biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage.
We were very surprised with how clean and nice the hotel was. The rooms are really clean and well taken care of. The pool was nice and warm. The atrium has comfortable seating and places to meet. We were very well taken care of. We appreciate the hospitality in Artesia.
This is an average hotel. Don't expect perks because there aren't any. It's certainly not a dive but it's not a Marriott either. The rooms are clean, the lobby is clean. The breakfast is okay. The bed was uncomfortable and the internet speed is average.
The unique breakfast format where guests could choose from several options and have meal personally prepared has gone with the closing of the restaurant in the hotel; however, the food is still good, presentation good, and overall, the hotel is still a lovely stay and we will surely return. Hopefully another restaurant will step in and take over the space, and with that a return to "select your choice" breakfasts.
There aren't many options around - but the staff here do a good job making you feel like you must have other choices - because everything is well-kept. The building is interesting with interior and exterior court yards. Our room was tucked away in a corner and nice and quiet. There don't seem to be any views to be had in the area - so no big deal that our view was of the parking lot and Super K-Mart next door. We loved the pool - clean, nicely decorated, and sparsely used by others. Nice hot tub too. Water was crystal clear and the right temperature. Breakfast was okay - standard warm hotel fare with generous options for cereal, juices, grab and go stuff as well. The beds were Best Western beds - kind of hard and jiggly, but not horrible.
We decided to stay in Artesia while visiting Carlsbad Caverns. We usually stay in a Choice Hotel, but this hotel had great reviews and reasonable price. It was also on the road to Alamagordo, our next destination. We had a room with 2 queen beds. It looks newly renovated. Loved the wet bar just outside the bathroom, which had a sink, microwave and mini fridge. It has a huge enclosed sitting area, an open courtyard, indoor pool and hot tub. We ate breakfast one morning here. They had eggs, sausage, biscuits, etc. The breakfast area is a former Chinese themed restaurant, which closed 4 months previously.
The place is clean and they work to keep it repaired. The breakfast is no longer in a restaurant, but where it used to be. It was less than optimal this stay as most of the hot food trays were empty. Rooms are clean and the bed has a lot of fluffy pillows. Well worth the cost to stay here.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel while we were attending out son's graduation from the U.S. Border Patrol Academy. The Pecos Inn was a good choice because, although the rooms are not newly remodeled, it was clean and the beds comfortable. Hot water in the bathroom was HOT. Staff was always ready to help, and housekeeping staff was quick to clean our room each day and cleaned the rest of the hotel daily. It had a large, clean swimming pool, as well as a hot tub. The hot breakfast was good, although on two mornings, the scrambled eggs had a green tinge. Curious. I would definitely recommend the Best Western Pecos Inn.
Very easy to see that this motel was once something else. But they have done a nice job of renovating. The beds are comfortable the towels are thick and soft. There is also a recliner in the room. The rooms are quite large compared to a lot of places and the pool and jacuzzi will crystal clear. Very well maintained as you can sometimes smell and overpowering odor of the pool chemicals in an enclosed pool area, however this one did not have that order. The temperatures were perfect and we enjoyed a little down time swimming and sitting in the jacuzzi. If we passed through this town again we will be sure to stay here. Robin at the front desk was very perky and friendly and we even got a lower rate by calling then booking online.
very nice hotel, beds are very comfy. nive indoor seating area and out door area. nice breakfast.. will stay here again. easy to find was able to park by my room, hotel staff was friendly. had a good thunder storm that night, no issues at all...
I chose this location since it is mid way between Carlsbad Caverns and Roswell. This motel is right on the main hignwya so access is very good and close to downtown. The amenities are great and the staff is nice. I will stay there again!
