    « Very nice »

The staff was pleasant and helpful when we asked about area sites and transportation. The room was nice, but nothing fancy. It had in-room coffee, refrigerator, microwave, and WiFi. It lacked an in-room safe, however, so we felt a little vulnerable leaving our electronics unprotected. Our bathroom sink had a drip, which they fixed ASAP when we told them about it. Whenever we encountered the cleaning staff in the hallway, they were very pleasant, always smiling. We enjoyed our stay. There is Ledo Pizza restaurant attached to the hotel, but they serve a variety of food, not just pizza. (The pizza IS good, by the way.) Everything we tried was delicious. They are open throughout the day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

    « No complaints »

If you're looking for a clean, safe place to stay that is reasonably priced (for DC) and close to DC, the Best Western is a good option. (It's not fancy and could use updating, so don't stay here if those things are important to you.) We had a 2Q room. It had an outside entrance, so we did not go thru the lobby to access our room. This is convenient if you drive, since you can park (for free) outside your room. (There's also a parking garage.) It's also convenient for coming and going since you don't have to go into the main part of the building and/or use the elevator. We also had two sinks (one in the bathroom and one outside in the vanity area) which was very nice and I believe unique to the 2Q rooms. The room was spacious. Housekeeping cleaned the room, changed the bed linens and replaced the towels every day. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The water in the shower got and stayed hot. There's a small coffee maker, a microwave & refrigerator in the room as well as an ironing board, iron and hair dryer. There is a small restaurant attached to the hotel which is very convenient. We ate there the night of our arrival and for breakfast. The food was pretty good and was reasonably priced. Getting to or from Reagan and to or from DC (from the hotel) during normal hours ? not during rush hour - is about a $15 cab ride. Iwo Jima is within walking distance as is the Metro station. We really had no complaints. The motel has been around for quite a few years and shows its age. But in spite of its worn appearance, it's a good place to stay and we would stay here again.

« If you love Iwo Jima stay here. If not, book elsewhere »

Took 20+ mins to check-in despite having booked in advance. The floors in the room were nearly as lumpy as the beds. No view from our room. Shower washes from the neck down. I've saved your eyes by not posting photos. 2nd worst hotel we stayed in out of 10 on our road trip. I only gave it three stars because the parking was free and it was decent value for Washington DC.

« Do Not Stay Here »

This place should be condemned. It should not be called a hotel - it's a motel. I did not take a shower as it was disgusting. The toilet seat was so old it was starting to peel. The carpet was filthy - I wouldn't let my baby crawl around on the floor. I would not recommend staying here.

    « 3 night stay »

We stayed here as part of a tree day trip to Washington DC. The hotel was as advertised, close to a Metro station(about 10 minute walk) and had a swimming pool complete with lifeguard. The room was nice and clean, spacious with air conditioning. There was no food within the hotel, but there was a restaurant opposite which served all day long.and a small supermarket about 10 minutes walk away. A fridge and television were put to good use while we stayed and the internet was a good connection. Friendly staff were on hand at reception and information about bus trips and the Metro was good. A very nice stay and swim after a long day in DC.

    « AWESOME Value for D.C.! »

BW Iwo Jima is our GO TO place to stay when in D.C. Clean, quiet (even in a street side room!), comfortable and the staff are wonderful. If you're looking for lots of free extra's, you won't find them here but what you WILL find is a very comfortable, well maintained and well staffed hotel. Linens and towels were the whitest white, soft and luxurious - just the way we like them. Room was comfortable, clean and homey with a microwave, small refridgerator and a coffee maker. Bathroom also has a hair dryer and there was an ironing board and iron in the closet as well. King size bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were real pillows - not plastic filled bags of air! Parking is not a problem as there is a three story underground parking garage along with the small outdoor parking lot. There is 24 hour coffee available in the hotel lobby as well as a chilled water dispenser. A small comfortable and reasonably priced restaurant is on the grounds as well. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit D.C. and not have to empty their pockets on accommodations.

« Nice Rooms, Good location »

Stayed here for the Marine Corps Marathon. Very convenient location to start and finish. Large room with two queen beds. Large parking garage. Very nice Ledo Pizza restaurant at the motel. Coffee in lobby.

    « People were Awesome!!! »

Went to the Lounge for dinner and met Thuy. She was the best bartender/server I've ever had the pleasure to deal with!!! Food was really good and the price was right. I showed up last minute and everything was perfect. What an incredible ending for a really rough day! Thank you all involved

« Family Fun In DC »

I chose this hotel for its price, location to eateries/shops, location to public transportation & location to DC. For a family looking for affordable, clean, no-frill rooms, this fit the bill. While the interior of the rooms (carpet mainly) could use an upgrade, the rooms were comfortable. While there is a restaurant on the premises, if you are in a hurry to get up and go about your business, I would recommend another establishment. Restaurants, grocery stores and most of all, the Metro were all within a 10 minute walk. The staff was relatively accommodating. When booking your room, pay close attention to the time available to check in. We arrived after a transcontinental & transpacific flight at 10:30 am but were told that we would have to wait till 3:00 pm. No problem as we just went out and began our tour.

    « Very Pleased »

Hotel was 5-10 minutes to the mall and monuments in Wash DC by car. Attached parking garage was very convenient. Motel was clean and nicely maintained. Restaurant was attached and very convenient. Although located on a busy roadway the motel was very quiet. Nice place for the price.

« Great location and very accommodating! »

This Best Western turned out to be a perfect one night stay for us. The staff is so friendly and accommodating! We requested a quiet room and they gave us a 3rd floor room facing the back, away from the highway. We had brought a large item with us that we sold on our Etsy site to someone who happened to live right near the hotel. They held our item behind the front desk so that we didn't have to wait for the buyer to pick it up! You can leave your car in their lot until 9PM the date of checkout FOR FREE! The walk to the metro is easy. It is also a nice walk to Wilson Blvd. where there are lots of great restaurants and a cool neighborhood. Perfect for us.

    « Great Lodging for a Washington, D.C. Visit! »

Our party of four stayed here three nights in October. Front desk staff was always friendly and helpful. We were in the city after riding 184 miles on the C & O Canal Towpath. We were able to store our bikes in the conference room, which was being renovated and that was appreciated. An indoor swimming pool (with lifeguard) was welcome after a long day. The Iwo Jima Monument is within walking distance as is the Rosslyn Metro Station ? each approximately six blocks in opposite directions. Coffee and hot water (tea bags provided) are available all the time. Both of our rooms were quiet and comfortable. A AC/heating unit had a thermostat to maintain a constant temperature and the unit was not overly loud. A large refrigerator, microwave, flat screen TV, Wi-Fi, alarm clock and hair dryer were provided. After a great shower we wrapped up in a large fluffy towel. The only complaint we registered was after doing a load of laundry (washer and dryer available), the dryer did not work. No ?out of order? sign had been posted. I would stay here again and also recommend this hotel. Note: Unless you park in the parking garage, which has an elevator to the office, there are six steps to the reception area. Other than the main building, rooms on the second floor have a flight of steps.

« Good sized room - clean and comfortable »

Our room was a good size, very clean and comfortable. The staff were always friendly, helpful, and courteous and made us feel welcome. The hotel is showing it's age a little - our air con was noisy which was noticeable at night and there was no WiFi to the rooms (so far as we are aware- we did not ask - too weary - and staff did not volunteer any information). In the Guest Directory it mentions there is a guest computer/s near the reception area. We stayed here so that we could visit Washington DC. The Washington DC airport and cbd are about US$15 by taxi. The hotel is convenient to a good bus service or if you are prepared to walk to the top of Pierce St to Wilson Ave you will find a train service. We would probably consider staying here again, but first we'd check out alternatives elsewhere in Rosslyn.

    « Trip East »

We wanted to spend two days in Washington DC bur didn't want to spend outrageous amount on hotel. We found this hotel online and if you want a value this is the place. Nothing fancy but clean, safe and four blocks to metro subway to national mall. Nice restaurant located here too.

« sight seeing trip to Washiongton DC »

We stayed at the Best Western In at Rosslyn. The motel was recommended by our son in law. This sight is close to the Metro which we used to get to the Smithsonian Museums. The counter staff we very helpful on planning the trips. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

« Nice Hotel in Alexandria »

This is a nice hotel. Good location with a good onsite restaurant. The staff was very friendly and had good tourist information and great directions to local attractions and restaurants. Facility was older but very clean. Also excellent proximity to the Metro.

    « Great value! »

The hotel looks alittle sketchy from the outside but inside is wonderful. Very clean, great beds. Would suggest you get a room not on the street. Ours was off street and very quiet. The restaurant was good and prices were reasonable.. Any other restaurants were only a ten minute walk.

« Awful Staff and Management »

First, let me start by saying that I know my experience is not typical and I understand that things happen; however, the way the staff handled the situation is unacceptable in my opinion. I stayed at the Best Western Rosslyn on Saturday, October 1st. I checked into the hotel at approximately 4:00pm and filled out the required information regarding my vehicle ? including the license plate number. At approximately 4:30pm another hotel patron vandalized my car. I knew nothing about the situation until after I checked out on Sunday, October 2nd at approximately 9:15am and returned to my car. I returned to the front desk and questioned Natalia who was the front desk agent on duty. She confirmed that the hotel was aware of the situation as the maintenance employee who was on duty on Saturday reported the damage to management. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that one was not there and it was not possible to get someone to speak with that day. I asked Natalia and Hector for a pair of rubber gloves and a bag so I could safely remove my belongings from the vehicle before having it towed ? after asking three times I gave up. No one cared or did anything. I was not offered an apology, a refund or partial refund on my room charge, the opportunity to file a claim with their insurance company, or any assistance in dealing with the situation. Additionally, I have messages that have been left on the General Manager's ? Bhavveen ? voicemail; however, he has not had the courtesy to call me back. On the other hand ? kudos to the Arlington Police Department who was fantastic in handling the situation and the investigation.

« close to metro station »

nice little hotel outside of DC that's cheaper than staying in the city- the Metro station is a couple blocks away with the hotel staff giving us a great map and directions to Metro... Arlington cemetary and monument of Iwo Jima within walking distance... no continental breakfast...the Metro was a little difficult to navigate at first but asked the friendly employees there and they always steered us in the right direction.

« Good location for Metro »

Motel is close to the Metro (7 minute walk, little uphill) which is what we wanted, at a reasonable price. Some road noise. Good restaurant across the parking lot. Helpful staff. Would stay again if visiting Washington. Only negative is noise from people walking past the door, particularly housekeeping staff as they start their day.

    1
« Nightmare at Iwo Jima Best Western Hotel »

Unless you have a therapist on call to help with your nightmares do not stay at this hotel! Whining A/C unit and refrigerator, getting up constantly to change TV channels because the remote did not work, broken clock radio, a high pressure shower from hell with clogged tub, Ignorant staff and a filthy lobby.

    3
« It was adequate but not in the best repair »

We were on a tour with a big group of over 100 people. The location of the Best Western was good for the tour buses. It was also not far from the Rosslyn Metro. The rooms were adequate but not in the best repair. The WiFi was reset often which meant that we had to go back in and enter the password. There is a restaurant just across the parking area which was convenient. The room was clean.

    5
« Very good and well priced hotel »

Me and my partner stayed here for one night in Sept and had a very nice stay. The room was very spacious and contained everything we needed e.g. hairdryer, iron, television, microwave, kettle and coffee machine. The beds were very comfortable and the air con worked. The staff at the desk were extremely helpful - we arrived 4 hours before check in as we had just driven from Philadelphia and they let us park our car in the enclosed car park with no trouble. Parking is free which is a bonus. There is free coffee and water at the reception which was a nice touch. We booked a sightseeing bus through the reception which we found easy. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel which i ordered a pizza from and it was reasonably priced and it sells soft drinks and snacks as there is not a shop in close walking distance. The hotel is about 5-7 min walk away from Rosslyn metro station. I would definitely stay in this hotel again as you are not paying silly prices but staying very central to D.C. Arlington cemetery is a 5 min walk from the hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay.

    4
    « Very well located »

Stayed 4 nights, the hotel is within walking distance of Rosslyn station which links you to most of the city including both airports which is great. Hotel is pretty standard, everything worked, free parking and I felt the price was very reasonable. I will be back next year and will most probably stay again.

« Middle of the Road »

The hotel was okay, not stand out, but not the worst. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean. We stayed 3 days and had no major problems. The handles in the shower need to be updated as the water would frequently change temperatures mid-shower. Room came with microwave and fridge.

    5
« Great value for the price »

We arrived tired from a long day of traveling. The people at the front desk were quite attentive and the check in process was smooth. The rooms are well laid out and ours was clean, the bathroom was spotless as was the coffee pot, microwave and refrigerator in the room. The hotel is less than 1/2 mile from restaurants, shopping and groceries. It is also 3/10 of a mile from a Metrorail station. We had a rental car (free parking at the hotel) but left it parked and took the Metro everywhere. A decent Italian restaurant was adjacent to the hotel. When we come back to DC we will stay here again.

« Best Western Iwo Jima »

Having visited D,C before, I was looking for a hotel that offered free parking (hoping to save $250- $300 in fees). Nothing in the city suited my needs, or budget, so I looked across the river into Arlington. The Best Western Iwo Jima had a reasonable price for a room, and free parking with a short walk to a major Metro hub. It seemed to be what I was looking for, so I reserved. I was a little disconcerted at checkin when the clerk looked at me and my wife (both older), and whited out the assigned room number on the reservation form, and reassigned us to a room at the very end of the second floor (walkup). The room was worn, but clean, with a fridge and microwave oven. Maid service was outstanding freshening our room. We never made it to the pool. The parking garage was old and dark, but I never felt uncomfortable walking to or from my car, or parking. We got what we were looking for- a clean place to sleep while we visited the capital. If you're looking a clean, reasonable priced room, free parking, and great access to D.C., give Best Western Iwo Jima a look!

    3
« Wish I could give higher but....... »

The hotel is clean and rooms are comfortable. For the price and the location, this hotel is a great option if you are travelling to DC on a budget. It is extremely close to the Mall, all of the monuments, Arlington Cemetery, the White House and most of the Smithsonian Museums. All that having been said, it could use some help. There is no complimentary breakfast that is standard at almost all Best Western's although there is a restaurant attached to the hotel. But even that is restrictive as it closes most nights by 9pm. The parking lot and parking garage are free, which is nice, but is a little dark so you don't feel as safe as a well lit one would make you feel. Overall, I would recommend staying here if you wanted to be close to the main attractions in the DC area.

    4
« Good quality and great location »

We chose this hotel because it was right by the Iwo Jima Memorial, very close to Arlington Cemetery and walking distance to all the DC sights. The hotel was clean, comfortable and great value for money. The pool was great to sink into after a long day of walking! We will stay there again next year when we are visiting.

  • 3
« Fair hotel but great location »

Overall, the hotel was average. Got lost trying to find the hotel. Do not use the Arlington Blvd address to input into your gps. There is another address for the gps. The parking lot is pretty small, so you'll have to park in the underground garage which is situated on a weird angle on the lot. We requested to have a room in the newer section of the hotel. The beds were comfortable. The room was open and clean but the layout is questionable. The room had a microwave and fridge. The bathroom shower was nice. Don't expect too much from room service. Internet is fast. The hotel is a short drive from all that Washington D.C. has to offer.

    4
« Good location, near Metro Station. No breakfast. »

The hotel needs some upgrade, but overall it is a good place for your visit to DC. The location is 7 minutes from Rosslyn Metro Station, easy to commute if you are flying in/out from DC National Airport DCA. There is NO breakfast provided, but there is a restaurant in the same premise. I did not eat there, so I don't know about the food quality. The side walk outside is uneven and there is no street light, so be careful when you walk back to the hotel at night. I hit the uneven sidewalk, and fell on my way back to the hotel. Good thing, nothing broken, except some bruises.

    2
    « basic hotel »

There was not any amenities like some of the other best westerns such as breakfast. But they did have coffee and water available. ? A little outdated, but clean. About a 7 min walk to the metro. Centrally located.

    4
« Great location, great rate! »

We were looking for a safe, inexpensive hotel in the DC area close enough to walk to a Metro station. We didn't want to have to rely on a hotel shuttle. (A similar hotel nearby with "free" breakfast and shuttle as $35 more a night). We were very pleased with our stay. The hotel is in a great location, a few blocks from the Metro. It has free parking (many of the spots are very small) and it seemed like a safe neighborhood. We never felt unsafe even walking back from the Metro in the dark. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was nice, even had a lifeguard. It was a great way to cool off after a long day of sight seeing. We will definitely stay here again. The hotel is older and needs updates, but it is a great price. And we came to see the sites, not the inside of a hotel!

    4
    « Good Quality »

This hotel has a very good quality, suites are roomy and clean. they are equipped with everything you need. internet is fast. also the swimming pool was clean and very relaxing in the mornings before going out. I recommend this place. not so pricey and the service was good.

    1
    « Save your money!!!!!! »

Stayed in the hotel 2 nights ago, charged a rate of $99 US, at 2 am, should have been have price at that time. Yes it's close to Washington, but the room is in desperate need of a renovation. Very dark, Air conditioner did not work, room smelled like a sewer and no breakfast included. price they are charging is too high for that hotel! Really disappointed! Save your money, do some proper research on hotels in the area.

« Most accessible hotel in the Wahsington DC »

It is a nice place and convenience place to stay while visiting the Washington DC. We enjoyed our stay. Many restauranst were nearby. It has a nice pool with covered parking. We loved our stay with the hotel.

    5
« Good value hotel, no breakfast »

the location is 7 min walk from the Rosslyn metro station, exactly what u need to visit Washington DC. I missed a breakfast for starting the day. We had some ants in the room and we got another on the spot. Good and efficient service.

    2
« Loud machinery in ceiling »

First the good points: Good location Free parking Clean Good air con Good service Bad points: Don't let them put you in room 231. There is a hatch in the ceiling and half way through the night a very loud motor or some kind of machine turned on and made it very difficult to sleep. They were very accommodating and moved us to a new room, but my day was shot because I got no sleep the night before.

    5
    « Good visit »

My wife and I stayed there for one night. The next morning we walked to Arlington and then across the river into DC. The hotel was nice. There wasn't a lot of noise and the staff was friendly. I will likely stay here again. I would recommend staying at this hotel if you want to stay somewhere nice on a budget.

  • 4
« Good value, great location, attentive staff »

Place looks slightly dated but otherwise clean and comfortable. Great beds. There is a restaurant on site and the food was quite good. I believe we ate there three different times. Very convenient location to DC.

    4
    « Great stay »

Stayed here when visiting Washington DC,chose this hotel due to it being a 10 min walk due to the PATH station. Nice room, quiet hotel and friendly staff. Only downside was the pool it was not as big as it seemed in the photo. Nice restaurant attached to the hotel, but when we walked into Rosslyn hardly anywhere to eat.

    3
    « meh »

while this hotel was affordable with a great location; this was an old hotel in need of updates. During my stay I encountered ants in the room, a clogged shower drain and an elevator was out of service. All of these inconveniences were promptly addressed by the staff.

    4
« excellent location near Washington »

Great location near Washington, the museums, the subway and the bicycle trail Nice indoor pool Free inside parking. They allowed us to leave our car in the parking until 9:00pm on the departure date. A good restaurant in front of the hotel.

    5
    « Excellent Staffs/Convenient Location »

Staffs are very friendly and very accommodating. Very prompt in our call for a room service. Staffs were very helpful in showing us around the area, attractions, good eats. Rooms are clean and well kept. Front Desk staffs are readily available for any queries. Hotel location is very convenient as it is very close to transit, restaurants and a short drive to a mall and grocery store. We will probably coming back to this hotel again and will highly recommend to others who are planning to visit Washington DC and Arlington, Virginia.

    5
« Great location and value for money »

The location is very convenient. Very close to Rosslyn metro station. The DC commuter bus stop is near the metro station. Grocery store "Safeway" is close by which is very well stocked for all your basic needs. The lobby has free coffee vending machine and drinking water dispenser. The fridge and microwave in the room were in excellent condition. We used them extensively for cooking small meals for our toddler. TV had cable connection with lots of channels for every genre. 65 USD per night for a family room was a steal!!

    2
    « Keep looking....not worth it! »

We decided to stay here because of the great price and proximity to the Metro station. What a mistake! 'You get what you pay for' is exactly what happened here. Our concerns about black spots on the AC weren't taken seriously (we were moved but another family put into the same room 10 minutes later). Our new room had black spots pained over in the shower that we found a few days later. Our tub backed up repeatedly but after reporting it 3 times it was never worked on. We didn't get any consistency with the housekeeping, some days we were skipped and other days they took all our towels but did not replace with the same number so we had to ask at the desk when we got back at 9pm.

    3
« Room was OK but.............. »

Pros: room was clean and beds were comfortable. AC kept the room cool. Metro is about a two block walk - which was not bad. Parking was free. Coffee, refrigerator and microwave in the room. Cons: Pool is open from 2PM to 10PM. I have never seen this type of inconvenient hours to swim at a hotel. The only night the 10 year old traveling with us was able to swim, the pool closed early at 9:45 and not 10. She got to swim about 15 minutes before she was kicked out. It is ridiculous not to be able to swim in the MORNING. Something needs to be done about the pool hours since it was one of the reasons we booked this hotel - other than price and free parking. The TV in the room would periodically get snowy and we would have to mess with the cable in the back to get any kind of clear picture. The restaurant onsite: JUST DON'T. It is awful and the ONLY restaurant close to the hotel. AC DID keep the room cool but it was very loud. It sounded like a plane taxiing every time it kicked back on. Parking WAS free but in the alternative parking garage, we did not feel very safe nor did I feel my car was very secure there. All in all, the room was good enough for our brief sightseeing stay but I would not book there more than a night or two. The pool hours and the restaurant were the two most disappointing things about it. Considering there really aren't a lot of amenities at this more budget friendly hotel, it was important to us to have a decent restaurant and be able to use the pool. Both were unsatisfactory.

    « Best Western - Washington DC »

This hotel was in great location and very cheap. It was a good deal for the price - nothing fancy. We had a few issues the refrig - loud and froze everything. Not enough plugs to charge laptop/phones, etc. But the FREE parking was well worth the price. 2 to 3 blocks to Metro station.

    5
    « 2016 Hang Gliding »

The hotel has reasonable rate. Its location is conveniently located within easy walking distance to the Metrorail station and major attraction. It is also convent when occasions arise which require self-driving. The room is quiet and comfortable. I highly recommend the place.

The hotel inside was clean, however the area it's located in, and parking lot were a bit sketchy. It is not in close proximity to public transportation, nor were there any quality restaurants within walking distance.

    « Amazing Staff »

This hotel is adequate and ordinary in terms of cleanliness and decor and lacks amenities like free breakfast and room service, but the excellent staff more than makes up for it. Every desk clerk, day or night, was extremely helpful, friendly and respectful. I felt safe and welcome. As a visitor to the city I appreciated the smiles.

« Wish I would have booked elsewhere »

My husband and I recently stayed at the Best Western Iwo Jima for a week vacation to DC. We chose the hotel for the free parking but we were disappointed in our choice. Hotel was difficult to find with a gps, it sent us to the Virginia Suites across the highway. Although check in went smoothly we paid for a suite located in the motel section. For $110 a night i felt we overpaid for an older room in need of renovations. The suite consisted of a "living room" with a couch and desk but no tv only one in the bedroom. The air conditioner was located by the window so with a wall separating the living room and bedroom it took a long time to cool. We went to the front desk and they gave us a fan to circulate the air. The bed was comfortable (that was the best part of the room). I enjoyed having ants in the bathroom every morning, and even after requesting a new room we were told they were sold out. Overall the motel section should be remodeled, the staff was friendly but not willing to switch rooms. Rugs are stained and musty smelling. Although we were close to the metro I would have preferred a clean updated room without ants. The restaurant they have on location is decent even though they close early if they are slow. So if you want something late to eat your out of luck. DC was beautiful but we will not be back to this hotel.

« Good Value Accommodation Choice for Washington/Arlington Stay »

Stayed for two nights for my first trip to Washington DC. Reasonably close to subway providing convenient quick travel from this close by Arlington location to Washington across the river. Chose this for reasonably priced accommodation & while the facilities are slightly dated they were perfectly functional, comfortable, spacious & couldn't fault cleanliness. Was good to have a pool to use to cool down & refresh given the heat of the days sightseeing. Only negative was non existent restaurant & breakfast on site or immediately close by, but really not a problem for me. Plenty of dining options within walking or subway/bus ride away.

« Great value and close to DC »

I stayed here for 2 nights before setting out on a bike trip on the C&O Towpath. The motel is very inexpensive compared to others in the area. It's a quick bike ride to DC as well. My room was clean, and service was quick when I checked in. I'd stay here again.

    « Great Location »

We stayed here for 1 night to make a quick visit to the National Mall on our way to S.C. Location is excellent, less than 1/2 mile from Metro Station and free parking. Very easy to get to also. Although it is an older facility the room was clean and comfortable for such a good price to stay so close to DC. If one is looking for luxury accommodations they will have to expect to pay more per night. Staff was helpful. We did not eat at the restaurant on site, why when there are so many great ones right in DC a short Metro ride away. I would stay here again if we come back.

    « poor customer service »

Last week, my friends and I made plans to meet at the Best Western on Arlington Blvd the day before a funeral of a good friend. The day we planned to meet, we realized there are two Best Westerns on Arlington Blvd. Our fault I know, but I called this location and tried to move my reservation to the other Best Western and I was treated poorly by the local staff, and the corporate staff. I was passed around by the local and corporate staff. I was told "You made this reservation 5 days ago, and that left you five days to realize your error. Therefore we will not cancel your reservation." Cold, insensitive and rude in my opinion, especially given we were there for a funeral. In addition, the staff said people mistakenly call the wrong Best Western "all the time." Check-in staff was not welcoming. No breakfast. Rooms dated. It was clean. Parking was ample and easy to access.

    « Great location! »

My husband and I stayed here July 1 - 5 with our grandson so we could take in the sights of DC and save money by staying in Arlington. We were in an inside room, midway between the lobby and the pool, so it was very convenient. We appreciated the free parking, fridge and microwave in the rooms, and the location! It was an easy walk to the metro station and to Iwo Jima Memorial for fireworks and the Sunset parade. While we did enjoy the pizza and a couple meals at Ledo's, there are limited restaurants writhin walking distance (a continental breakfast would be a nice addition to the features of the hotel.). Our room was clean with comfortable beds and the staff was friendly and helpful. We will try to stay here on our next trip to DC.

    « Location is execellent... »

I wish can get the right billing message ASAP. Don't want to check my accounts everyday. Should put a sign for broken elevator. Then I can know it is still out of order or done the fixing. Still waiting hotel correct the amount they charged on my account...

« Was good but the room was too hot »

The room was clean and well maintained with a fridge (note it wasn't very cold but good enough and microwave. The location is perfect since its a short ride away from the Cemetery and DC. The plus point is that you would save a lot of money by staying on the Arlington side. Its also quite close to quite a few restaurants by walk. The only problem with the room was that the table was right infront of the AC which blocked the airflow, hence it got too hot in the night. We had to wake up to move the table. Apart from that, the stay was very pleasant. Would definitely recommend it to other people.

    « Back in Time »

This is an older property but nicely maintained. The best feature is free parking. There are two parts to the hotel. There are inside accommodations and outside motor court type rooms. A serious smoker might want the outside rooms to avoid taking the elevator or long walks down the hallways of the inside rooms. The rooms are a bit smaller than average but are clean and contain a refrigerator and coffee maker. A lot of the guests seem to be military veterans (good people) due to the proximity of the Iwo Jima Memorial and Arlington Cemetery. It is mostly surrounded by deluxe high rise condos. The neighborhood is upscale and seems very safe. Restaurants are not close by but don't overlook Ledo's Pizza next door. It may not look like much on the outside but has a nice interior and they have a full Italian menu and breakfast. The food was very good and reasonable. The hotel does not offer food but they do have coffee in the lobby 24/7. Stay here and save money and utilize the Metro Rail Subway. The Desk Clerk has all the tour information you need along with maps. If you have some free time, take the pedestrian walkway nearby to the Iwo Jima Memorial, sit on one of the many benches or low wall, and take in the view of the memorial and the Washington Monument in the background.

    « Horrible! »

We booked this hotel trying to save money. We loved the location, queen beds, and free parking. However the hotel was not clean, employees were nice but not helpful, and the air conditioner went out during a heat wave! There were ants in the room; little tiny ones. There was mildew and mold in bathroom. The old metal pieces were rusty. The carpet was visibly dirty and coming up in places. The seems in ceiling and walls were very apparent. On a day with a heat index of 112, the air was blowing cool but lot cold, the fan was low speed and didn't change when you turned it to high. The maintenance guy tried fixing it by cleaning the filters by wiping it with a wet towel and said that was all he could do! I can deal with old and outdated but I cannot deal with bugs and no a/c! We cancelled the rest of our reservation and went to the Holiday Inn up the street (also free parking and great location).

« Good to saty and sleep. »

I stayed there with my husband and two boys, it was ok. We did not spend time in the hotel. The breakfast infront was expensive. The hotel is not very clean, old and in the mornings maids make a lot of noise.

    « Fine Together2016 Accommodations »

Great location across Potomac from DC just upstream of Lincoln Memorial, but no view (which we didn't need). Very helpful desk clerks; clean rooms. Very tight parking above grade; not much better below hotel, but protected from weather. On location restaurant service awful; sat down, never got acknowledged as being in restaurant much less brought a menu. But the hotel itself is fine, quiet, restful.

    « Good value - but... »

I stayed here for a three day weekend during a family wedding. The great part is the friendly, helpful staff. The building is a series of issues. What you need to know are the things that will annoy the heck out of you. First, it's not really easy to find. Basically, it's an alley off of the service road to US 50. It's a great location for access to DC. Next is parking. There's a small lot with tight parking in that alley. The rest of the parking is underground, accessible by elevator. The spaces are tight. I scraped my car mirror on one of the concrete posts. While there are plenty of handicap spaces, there's almost no way to navigate the property without steps. Even using the elevator, there's steps between the wings. The property houses an Italian restaurant. A large chunk of the parking is reserved for them. There's one ice machine near the lobby and no on site vending. WTH? Bring drinks and snacks. I stayed in a King Suite. It was a nice room - EXCEPT. When you walk in the door, you're in the living room, a long thin room with the only windows, a two cushion sofa, desk and chair. The only air conditioning unit is a through the wall unit by the couch. The wall opposite the windows has the bed headboard on its other sideu. The problem is that the cold air doesn't make it to the bedroom. As it was near 100 degrees outside, the room wasn't comfortable. The bathroom features a double vanity, but not enough room for two. Next to the vanity to the left is a tub/shower. To the right is the separate room with toilet and sliding door shower. The door was obviously off its track and very difficult to slide. Also, the inside handle for the door was absent. Basically, it could be a very good hotel if the owners would maintain it.

    2
    « Needs updating »

Ice machines outside rooms didn't work. Had to go inside main unit and walk to end of hall to get ice. Carpeting needs replacing..not cleaning..replace. window air unit could not keep room cool. Only good thing is bar restaurant attached to hotel. Has great food. Location is convenient to metro station...about 15minute walk.

    4
    « Value for Money »

Staffs are extremely polite and helpful. Only one restaurant inside compound but closes early. No shops or grocery in close proximity. Nearest Seven-Eleven is 30 minute walk. Metro very near from where all major attractions are easily accessible.

« Best value for the money in the area. »

I extensively reviewed hotels in the D.C. Area before our family trip in mid-July 2016. This hotel showed the best cost/location/amenity ratio for our needs. Basically, we needed a hotel within walking distance of public transportation, clean and comfortable rooms, and reasonable parking for a larger vehicle. This hotel fit the bill. Reservation process was simple. I did email hotel with a question about parking and received a response within a couple of hours on a weekend night. Parking was a major factor for choosing this hotel and they fully met our needs. Arrival was simple and easy. We were in our room quickly with no delays. The room was comfortable and quiet. Rooms here are smaller but adequate. They use double beds and not queens so be prepared for that if it is an issue. It was not for us. The beds were very comfortable. We slept like babies. Room amenities were adequate. Microwave and refrigerator. Coffee maker which we did not use since we were close to coffee in lobby. Flat screen TV with plenty of channels. Small desk in room. Bathroom was clean but again smaller than you may be used to. It was more than adequate for our stay. Plenty of towels. Only issue with room was somehow our air conditioner went off during day so when we arrived back at room it was hot and took a while to cool off. Not sure if this was housekeeping or a timer? We didn't complain. Other amenities. The pool was adequate. Not too cold or hot. Water felt and looked clean. Lifeguard/attendant on duty at all times. No food service with hotel. There is a pizza place in the parking lot. The first night there we tried to eat there. Arrived and the guy running around said he would be back do us I. A few minutes. After 15 minutes of waiting we left. There were only about four tables occupied so it was not because they were busy. Did get to go order there on later date and food and prices were fine. $17 for two calzones to go. Their signs say they serve breakfast. They also have a small "store" with to go items such as individual cereal bowls and snacks/drinks. We packed some food but most mornings just waited till we went to the Metro and ate at station. There is a Panera Bread and a couple of other food options there. Other food options within walking distance are limited. We did walk to the Quarterdeck but unfortunately they were only seating those with reservations. We ended up driving into the Arlington downtown area. Our favorite restaurant was O'Sullivans Irish Pub. Friendly people and great prices on excellent food. Staff. Was extremely helpful. They were attentive, polite and very helpful throughout stay. I feel they went out of their way on several occasions. Check out. Simple and easy. I had the receipt in my email by 4 am the morning of checkout so I simply handed the desk clerk my key on the way out. Overall I think this is the best value around the area. Would stay here again. Bonus. We walked to the Marine Corp Memorial (Iwo Jima). It was about a ten minute walk from hotel. There is a pedestrian overpass to get over the busiest road. Sidewalks and pedestrian crossings all the way. Views of D.C.are worth the walk.

    « Had a great experience! »

The service at the front desk was really excellent! Everyone has smiles and is very helpful. The room rate was more than reasonable for the location. This hotel offers a parking garage, walking distance from the Metro Station, local stores, and it even has an excellent Italian restaurant right on the premises that has AMAZING pizza. The room was clean and very spacious. The bed was VERY comfortable and I would DEFINITELY stay there again and recommend to anyone.

« BW Iwo Jima in need of 21st century remodel »

Let me begin by stating the staff were wonderful but the facility they support isn't equal to the quality staff! The inner rooms are small whereas the outer rooms are considerably larger. The rooms, specifically the bathrooms, are disgusting. The have far pasted caulking solutions and are in need of total remodeling.

    4
    « Disappointed in POOL »

very disappointed that the pool was not available from approximately 8AM... Guard comes on at 2PM and no admittance until then. Also, after 10PM, when pool closes, you can't sit around the area. We had beautiful mornings and evenings and no where to sit !!!

« Very affordable, but I would not stay again. »

I picked this hotel because it had outdoor free parking. We have trucks and SUV's. The parking was adequate, but the room smelled slightly, we had 2 cockroaches in one room and the TV was broke in 1 of our 2 rooms. The location is good to the metro, but If I hadn't needed the extra parking room, I would have stayed at a different closer hotel to DC. The restaurant is not very good, but very affordable. So if you just need a pizza for the kids it's ok, but not for a full meal.

« Excellent stay. Great desk service. »

Very close to DC. Great room and suburb desk service by the young woman, both days. No question to tough and eager to help! Quality for much less money then most area hotels. Parking on site and spacious spots. Restaurant on site was inexpensive and reasonable. Best Western should be happy to have them!

« Best value in DC Area »

This is a well run hotel/motel with reasonable prices and free parking, close to a nearby Metro. It's by far the best value around Washington, DC. I recommend it for what ever reason you happen to be in the nation's capital.

    « pleasantly surprised »

I was not expecting to find this nice of hotel at the price we paid at the time of year we were here. The room was newly redone and extremely spacious. There was free covered parking and free coffee and water at the lobby. My sisters stayed at the Hyatt a few blocks away and paid about the same amount but had to pay for Starbucks coffee in the lobby and paid $23 per night for parking. Their room was not nearly as spacious either!

    « Great Family Hotel »

This hotel is located just across the Potomac from the Mall area and near a Metro Station. It is clean, reasonably priced, and parking is free. The front desk staff was very helpful with our questions about the Metro and nearby areas. There are several restaurant choices in Rosslyn within walking distance to the West of the Hotel. I'd recommend it, particularly for a family.

« Clean, Safe, Great Value - Location »

So close to everything, easy subway access, short taxi or Uber ride. Great Price; No problems: clean, safe, etc. Not an elegant getaway but a great choice if you want to be in DC and have a clean, safe place. Restaurant has really good food - EZ access.

« Quick trip to Washington DC »

The location of the hotel suited us perfectly on our visit to the Iwo Jima monument, Arlington and then over Memorial Bridge to the Mall. It is only 10 minutes walk to the first site. The major benefit of staying here was cost - much cheaper than Washington City hotels. It also has a good car park. On the down side it does not look great from outside but is fine once you get into reception. Also, we could not find a place for a cheap breakfast close at hand. Would stay here again if visiting DC.

    4
« comfortable but missed breakfast »

We really enjoyed this hotel. The bed was comfortable and the pool was perfect. it was close to everything without being in the heart of traffic. I did not like that they did not have breakfast. the restaurant in the parking lot was dingy, not very good and had cranky staff. We would stay again but bring in our own breakfast stuff.

« Affordable stay in Washington close to the Metro »

Affordable, good quality hotel. Excellent room, bathroom, beds, coffee machine and micro wave. The outside of the hotel is not attractive. There is a busy street in front of it. But if one has a room at the back of the hotel (like we had) it is not causing any irritations. Good price in Washiongton, close to metro.

    « Really Enjoyable Stay »

My wife and I spent three nights at the hotel during June. The hotel was easy to find, had free on-site parking, a restaurant next door to the hotel, with public transport and other restaurants close by. There was also an on-site pool. The room was very large, with a very large comfortable bed to match, had a large bathroom, a desk to write at, an excellent air conditioner, a fridge, a microwave, an ironing board if needed, and a list of TV channels which was really helpful. The staff were very friendly and helpful, with maps to show you around as well as a print-out that they had made with a list of shops, restaurants, tourist attractions, public transport, etc. that really helped. The only negative was the distance to tourist attractions, but there is public transport and taxis, so not a big issue. Overall, the hotel is a simple hotel that is very comfortable, with very helpful and friendly staff. We would definitely stay at the hotel again.

    4
« Good place near center »

Comfortable and clean. Rosslyn metro station just 7 mins walk, and Arlington also just a couple of minutes walking. Friendly staff, and the adjacent restaurant serves good food at fair prices. Car parking on site.

« One night too manu »

Stayed here one night for a quick visit to DC while traveling elsewhere. The room was incredibly outdated, felt dirty. Stains on walls and missing trim. Then we start hearing a drip in the shower only to see water dripping out of the ceiling and the ceiling looked like it could collapse from the weight any minute. Front desk sent maintenance to fix, however by "fix" they tore out some drywall and put a giant hole in the ceiling. Nobody ever apologized or offered us a different room or anything. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't stay here again

    3
    « Mold in bathroom »

At first glance looks like a nice place but once in room becomes different opinion. Bathroom had mold all around tub, cracked tiles on the tub wall, and bugs like ants and some other big water big. One night we saw a rat in the flower bed. Price was good for the area and has a restaurant in the premises. No continental breakfast. Taxi drive to the monuments was fast and cheap.

« best western iwo jima »

« No Continental Breakfast Here »

Overall the stay was good. Small hiccups within the room like remote for tv didn't work until the third one, bathroom tub was very slow draining so you would be up to your ankles in water (but shower otherwise was great pressure and hot water) and my biggest complaint was NO Breakfast in this BW. Every BW I have stayed in always had breakfast. Pool was refreshing only thing was you have to enter pool from outside (pool is a indoor pool). Just down the street is Arlington Cemetery which was a nice feature. Close to a lot of attractions too

    3
« Some good, some not so good »

The hotel staff were very nice. The room had a microwave, coffee maker, decent bathroom; rugs didn't feel the cleanest. Virtually no restaurants around, except for Ledo's (mostly frozen food and none that I'd want to eat again); would have to cross dangerous streets or take a taxi to other places. Guests expressed concern about leaving items in their vehicles, and garage had a lot of birds flying around, but parking was free. Staff suggest guests will be notified if they call for taxis; other guests will steal taxi rides if guests don't wait outside. There is no breakfast, only coffee and water. Free newspaper, wifi, and doors banging much of the time (no way to disguise the noise), but thankfully, the door banging ceased late at night. A guest said Big Red bus picks up at hotel, but guests would have to call and it's said not to be dependable. Taxi rides can be pricey, if not using cars to DC...$8. apiece to Arlington Cemetery might be the cheapest, where tourists can access tour rides I.e. Old Towne Trolley (need orange and green to see it all). If found a good price for a DC hotel, I'd opt for a place closer to tour rides and restaurants. Some good and some not so good, but a decent place to stay. Has elevator, but difficult to get luggage in/out, unless a guest has 1-2 pull-ons.

« Good for the price »

If you want to visit DC and you're looking for something on a budget, this is a great choice. The place was a little old but clean. Great location, walking distance to the Metro Station and the Iwo Jima Memorial. They do not offer breakfast, but there is a little restaurant right next door which is very convenient. Definitely not a high end hotel but it does the job. I spent most of my time in DC so I only needed a place to sleep and shower and this hotel worked just fine. Some of the electric outlets didn't work and the Wi-Fi was super slow but again, I was in DC most of the time so it wasn't a big deal to me. I'll probably stay there again on my next visit to DC.

    3
« Not the worst place I have stayed »

I have one good thing to say about this hotel. The beds are very comfortable. The beds are the only reason I did not cancel the reservation after the first night there! The other good thing was the two sinks in our room, one inside the shower area and one separate. It made it a little more convenient for more than one person to dress for the day at the same time. This hotel is not the worst place I have stayed, but I try to avoid hotels that do not at least have an elevator if there is more than one level. This one has an elevator, but only if you are willing to sleep in a double bed or a king. There are NO elevators to the rooms with queen beds in them! How lame is that! To top it off, the only room available was on the second floor and I have a bad knee. There is limited parking anywhere in the lot that is not underground and we were traveling cross-country with a luggage carrier on top of our vehicle. We ended up parking the vehicle and not using it while we were staying in this place. Then to make matters worse, the only working ice machine in the entire hotel was located down stairs on the opposite end of the hotel from where our room was, right next to the hotel laundry room. The hotel staff were pleasant to deal with and the price was not too expensive considering the area, however, I will probably not return to this hotel. There is no breakfast, but there is a diner on the property that is not too bad, just a little over priced. The coffee in the lobby was good, but the coffee In the room only made colored water. There was no workout room, I guess they figure guests get enough exercise hiking up and down the stairs.

    2
« Free parking, walk to Metro. »

This place has one good thing going for it LOCATION. It was close to the Metro, DC was only a few stops away. The hotel is outdated. Room 112 needs upkeep/repairs. Housekeeping was very good. Parking was free but very cramped. No breakfest! Only place on the spot is Lidio's. We won't be back!!

« Good Accommodations in Great Area »

My husband and I made a short trip to Washington DC for sightseeing. We were happy to learn that the hotel has free parking, which is a great benefit. The Rossyln Metro is a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel, which is quite convenient. The staff that checked us in was very courteous and helpful. The room itself was nothing fancy, but it was clean and comfortable and the bed was quite comfortable. The restaurant located on the property opened at 7 a.m. and we ate breakfast there twice, both times our food was very good. I would recommend this hotel for the budget conscious traveler. No frills but a clean cozy place to lay your head. We will stay here again.

    3
    « Bed bugs? »

Stayed here three nights during our stay in Washington and found it quite pleasant and comfortable. Rooms were clean, but the beds were a bit softer than we like. Breakfast finishes at 8:00, so get up early if you want to partake. Can't complain about the service or the room, BUT we have both come away with bites all over our arms and legs that we can only assume came from (maybe) bed bugs? Not sure but at the moment we're really uncomfortable. Just be aware folks.

    5
    « A trip to the "Wall". »

I planned my stay here at B/W Iwo Jima from a vet friend. Years ago, I traveled often for 10 years and stayed in many rooms. This was my first planned trip, to visit the Wall. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was, even in the lobby. The entire complex of rooms and Ledos mixed in gave a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. I wish I had stayed another night, but my wife was set on NY, where we stayed at B/W Seaport. I love the staff from both.

    5
« Free Parking in DC Area »

A very attractive feature of this hotel is free parking which is generally expensive in Washington, DC. Free in and out from parking but it is best to keep it parked and us the Metro. Metro is about a 7 minute walk from the hotel. When I arrived, there was a delay in check-in for many due to a failure of a part related to the hot water system. However, they worked hard to get it fixed in a short period of time so I was only delayed one hour for my check-in. The staff clearly worked hard to minimize the impact of this hot water system failure and posted bonus points to my Best Western account as compensation. The only thing to improve this hotel would be a free continental breakfast but I would rather the free parking over free breakfast.

    4
« Good deal for budget traveler »

Hotel was older but in decent condition. Hotel was close (3 blocks) to metro station and only a $10 Uber ride on average to monuments, museums, and various other attractions. Italian restaurant next door had good food.

    « Fits the Bill »

This is a Best Western NOT a Four Seasons. This is a VERY CLEAN BEST WESTERN. Perfectly located next to Arlington Cemetry & the Marine Corp monument! Right across the bridge from DC, a 7 min drive right into the Lincoln Monument. The staff is attentive, nice and very professional, especially James at check-in & Natalya at check-out. A little patience goes along way. And the price was right for the short stay. And right next door is Ledo, an awesome restaurant, do not allow it's appearance to fool you.

    « On a DC tour »

About 100 in our group so chaotic checking in but they handled it well. No a luxury place but I guess standard tourist grade. Our 1st room had a jet engine in the air conditioner so called down, sent someone up promptly, he said it needed a new part so called down and they quickly, graciously gave us another room down the hall and it was fine. A couple,of others had rooms that had pet smell so,they were also quickly relocated.

« First and last time best western »

This was our first stay at a best western property and we're not staying again. First asked for a room not facing the street because of noise and was given one next to stairs outside where there is no elevator and had to go up with four bags after walking from the metro station. We asked several times before if they had rooms on the main building but the front desk staff said that all two bed rooms where outside and because that is what said on our reservation they couldn't change us to a king size room. So we felt no willingness from the staff to help the client, at other properties they always ask us to choose. Then on our second or third day there we stayed and "rested" all morning, but that was difficult because the housekeeping staff passed by the room loudly (even with a peace and quiet sign) and because we were near the stairs. When we felt like going out surprise there was no water, it had been cut because of an emergency. Went to the front desk to ask when it would be back and said it would be half an hour. We waited more than an hour and nothing. Called front desk and was on hold to talk to the manager for 10 minutes and didn't come to the line. So we had to use our drinking water to wash our hands and teeth. Went back to the front desk and the manager was unwilling to take responsibility for the fact that we didn't have water and they didn't know when it would be back up. Asked for a refund and said that we could get points and said we weren't interested in staying at a best western again. Since the beginning we felt discriminated for being foreigners and when asked to speak to the manager she was told that I wanted to speak to maintenance. I have nothing to do speaking to maintenance, maybe they assumed I would because I speak Spanish. In the end after getting mad they agreed to give the refund and then we're more polite to us. So if you can find somewhere else to stay, do so.

« Stay was just OK »

Ants in room, pool was closed, restaurant poor service, beds were worn out. Felt there was room for improvement, though we didn't let it dampen our fun. Side note, why no tissues in the room? It wasn't terrible but I have stayed in enough hotels to feel our stay was not "up to par".

« Location is the best thing about this hotel »

First, I called the day before to make sure our party of 3 rooms would be close to each other. I was told that we would be fairly close to each. When we arrive - we could not have been further apart if they tried. 2 rooms close to each other inside and one room out side on the other end of the hotel. Second, we booked this hotel specifically because of the pool. We spent an entire day promising our kids that when we returned they would get to swim. We were hot and tired and returned to find the pool closed d/t "bathroom" incident. Not really their fault but when we asked if there was another hotel close by that we could use their pool the front desk staff were not very helpful. It was a disappointing stay considering how much we paid.

    « DC Close »

I spent two nights. The hotel is comfortable and within walking distance to the Metro (the best way to get around) and Iwo Jima Memorial. Free parking saved us money. I'd definitely stay again. This hotel was a bargain compared to our other options.

    3
    « Convenient »

Very convenient and price reasonable if you are visiting DC. Best Western surely makes an effort in providing quality and very clean sheets and ample towels. Pool was nice and lifeguard on duty. Adequate parking.

    3
« Great location to the metro »

This Best Western is a close walk to the metro. Walking distance to many restaurants, and shopping. It has a nice pool. My complaint is that it does need updated. Our room was old. Smelled very musty. The staff is nice. The price was good. I just wished our room didn't smell and been fresher.

    3
    « Best Western Rosslyn »

A well located medium quality hotel about 15 mins walk from Rosslyn subway station and 25 mins walk from Georgetown. The new Ben's Chili is about 12 mins walk. Only one restaurant nearby otherwise, which is Ledo Pizza. Helpful staff. The staff of the Best Western were helpful too, for example when we had a lot of baggage to store.

    « Good Value »

This was the most reasonably priced hotel in a generally high cost location very close to the district of Columbia. There are numerous high end high cost hotels in the immediate area that provided newer and bigger rooms and facilities. This is a older structure but well maintained and clean. Our room was not huge but large enough to accommodate the king size bed, desk, and easy chair with otter men. The bed proved to be extremely comfortable.I read some reviews that expressed unhappiness with outdoor corridor in part of the hotel. We were in the main building with interior corridors. I did observe that the motel style buildings had covered walkways and all faced a interior courtyard parking lot with a single entrance shared with a restaurant. They have a good sized covered pool that we did not utilize and a (free) parking garage that we did use. Elevator goes down to all parking garage levels to provide easy access to the main building. As is normal in this area prices vary by day of the week and there are local and state tax that will increase cost. Washington Metro station is about 8 minute walk. Cab to Smithsonian Museum on the mall was $15.00 with tip. IMO good choice to balance cost with easy access to DC.

    4
    « Family DC trip »

The hotel is somewhat out dated but our room was clean. We had 4 people in our room, not quite enough available outlets in the room for charging phones/portable chargers. I would suggest replacing the mattresses. The beds are very lumpy. The metro is about a 15 min walk from the hotel. Ledo's restaurant is decent.

    4
    « Convenient and decent »

This hotel has free parking, a good location, moderate cost and appeared to be well run. My room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The Rosslyn metro stop is an easy walk. The pool and fitness center were both in good repair. No breakfast included but I didn't find that to be a problem.

« Affordable, Convenient, and Comfortable »

We came here on our motorcycle for the annual Rolling Thunder event in D.C. and stayed for 5 nights. The room was clean, bed was very comfortable, and we didn't hear any outside noise while sleeping (husband is a light sleeper too!). There is a garage to park your vehicle (no charge); a really nice restaurant on property (they do room service as well); nice indoor poor (no hot tub); all the appliances you need for a multi-night stay in your room (microwave, refridgerator, large, flat-screen TV including HBO). Friendly staff. Hotel is a 10-minute walk to numerous restaurants, shops, pubs in Arlington, 10-minute walk to Iwo Jima and Arlington. 5-minute drive to downtown D.C. Very convenient location and the price was reasonable considering the location.

    3
« Comfortable bed & decent location for DC visit »

This hotel provided a reasonable value. The bed was comfortable, the shower strong and the location convenient for a Washington DC visit (walking distance of Metro station). Negative included ant infestation next to bed upon arrival which was a drag since we were tired and just wanted to go to bed (besides feeling onfuncleanliness it conveyed);staff did deal with it reasonably quickly and controlled problem for duration of stay (though there was never any follow-up by staff). Other negative: walk from Metro station to hotel at night was dark and empty; may be safe location but didn't really feel secure.

    5
« Great place to stay in DC! »

Clean and reasonably priced hotel with free garage parking under the building! Close to Georgetown area, DC attractions and the metro!!!!! Great restaurants and stores are close by. You really can't beat it!

    « Very Nice Stay »

Just returned from a two night stay. This was a bicycle trip for me, parked the car and didn't move it until I checked out. Great location...a few blocks from the Iwo JIma memorial, 1.5 to Arlington Cemetery and 3 miles to the Lincoln memorial. Hotel was in very nice shape, room was excellent. FREE parking...small outdoor lot, large indoor parking area. Indoor pool a lot of people were using. Only coffee served in the lobby, no breakfast. Never used the WiFi although they gave me the password. There is a pizza place/bar a few steps from the hotel if you don't want to drive and want a bite or a few drinks, they seemed to be doing a decent business. I would definitely stay here again when in town. One other thing...I showed up at 9am day after Memorial Day and asked at the desk if it would be alright to park my car for the day? Not only did the girl at the desk say no problem but she told me my room was ready...checked in at 9am! Great service there, I'd say.

    2
    « Worst service »

I've had better service in bad motels. The front desk will not go out of their way even an inch to help you. The level of indifference shown by an employee when asked for something (a corkscrew, pretty standard request) was astonishing. "we don't have one" do you have a restaurant? yes, but it's closed". Are people still working there? "I dont know" Can you call them? "No". Went there myself and got it in a minute. Convenient location to DC was the only positive. The rooms were just a bit better than an average motel.

    « Rolling Thunder trip »

Really great beds. Great location. Parking is really limited and not that great. The staff were super nice and helpful. Booked through hotels.com and got a great rate. The Ledo Restaurant on premises was a definite plus.

    3
« Very Comfortable, but missing some things »

I wish I had known that there was no complimentary breakfast, many of the rooms only have outdoor access, there was no large area in the lobby to meet as a family, and the pool was only open from 2-10pm. I probably would have looked for another place. We were disappointed by these details and the fact that there was mold growing on the upper walls of our bathroom. I did have a bit of an allergic reaction to it. Otherwise, the hotel is comfortable and the staff was helpful, if a bit slow, but their desk manager was a great help and wonderful to work with.

    5
    « Road Trip »

The location is ideal with a starbucks, safeway, target and train station just around the corner. The staff are all extremely helpful and friendly. The restaurant located here is great food and convenient.....

« Clean and convenient for sightseeing »

Although the hotel looks a little tired from the outside, this is a good place to stay at. My room was very clean and a good size, with the added touch of a fridge and microwave most welcome. The beds are certainly big and very comfortable and bathrooms are also a good size. Connections to central Washington are easy - a 7-10 minute walk to Rosslyn, or a 25 miniute walk over the Key Bridge to Georgetown. It's also possible to walk to the National Mall in about 45 minutes by going around Arlington Cemetery, safe during the day but potentially scary at night. It's also good there is a coin-op launderette on site, though one staff member I asked didn't seem to be aware of it. For the record, it's near room 119. Generally, I found the staff all very friendly and helpful. In terms of dining options, there is a reasonable selection of restaurants on Wilson Boulevard and a large branch of Safeway's too. Ledo's next door is OK for breakfasts and salads, but I can't say I was too impressed by the rest of the menu (a purely personal view, mind). All in all, a very nice stay. The hotel is actually located on North Fairfax Drive, which is a side road that runs alongside Arlington Boulevard.

    « Don't expect too much »

The great things about this property are the pool and the location. They have no food service and recommend the Ledo Pizza restaurant next door; we walked out since 3 different staff there were extremely rude. This hotel is a little worn out. The front desk staff is what I call fake friendly; say the correct words with no warmth. Our room was fairly quiet until our neighbors talked, could hear them really well. Luckily they turned in early! With air conditioner running didn't hear them at all. This hotel has really good restaurants within a few blocks. Metro is close, too. And there is a Safeway; we purchased our breakfast items there and used in room refrigerator. They were very nice about allowing us to store our bikes in conference area.

« Best Kept Secret for Value in DC Area »

This property is not the most luxurious in the DC area, but it might be its best kept secret for value. It starts with free parking. Don't take that for granted in DC. Reasonable rates...especially on weekends! Clean room, friendly & helpful staff, plenty of hot water for a great shower, comfy beds, 10 min walk to metro, and did I mention FREE parking! Try it and you'll be back on your next trip.

Average--great location, but needs updating. Staff not that friendly. People outside on balcony talking at odd hours. Elevators needed to second floor. Fitness center a disappointment. Breakfast average.

    « Very nice »

We stayed for 3 nights, felt very safe. Our room was nice, clean. They have a pool,we did not use but looked like it was nice as well. They offer coffie 24 hours a day in the lobby along with water free..I would stay again..

    « Pleasant experience »

This hotel is very well located for sightseeing in the area. The restaurant next door isn't anything fancy, but the food was good and the service was prompt. The rooms were clean and serviced in a timely manner. Not used to paying the rates that are charged in the DC area, but all hotels seem to be in line.

    5
« brilliant time and great weather »

The motel/hotel has king size beds, which are very comfortable. The bathroom was of a good size, and kept clean, with fresh towels everyday of our stay. The staff were terrific, always ready with information and advice. The hotel/motel was centrally located, with an easy walk to the metro.

    3
« decent price for the closeness to DC »

This BW was our second hotel in the area picked for its low (for DC) cost and proximity to the metro stop. After the ultra quietness from the previous hotel the noise level was really a shock (but fortunately we got used to the noise by the 2nd night). The noise came from all the plumbing or neighbors doors slamming, the airplanes after 7AM, and anyone parking the cars in the courtyard; walls must be really thin!!!! Fortunately the old fashioned NOISY AC/heater unit we used for fresh air masked most of other noises, making our life easier. We did prop the window open during the day to air the room and to get some quiet from the AC unit (however it will not work when the mosquitoes come since there is no screening on the windows). The room was large with a separate dining table, fridge and MW (good for families). The extra sink outside the bathroom was a plus, but the water-flow in the shower was low (as mentioned by earlier review) ? makes for the shower to take twice as long. Typical humidity signs between tiles, but lots of clean towels everyday. Coin laundry machines were helpful. The area was not too friendly and very hilly toward the grocery store. Some businesses were located close to metro station, including basic-chain like restaurants. The commute to DC sights was pretty easy. The pool was popular during warm day, but my companion was not able to use it because it only has ladders and no staircase to get in. The computer in the lobby was always having problems: the weather is the only thing I could look up on it, but forget about checking your e-mail.

« Best Western Rosslyn/Iwo Jima - base of operations »

This Best Western is much like all other ones I have stayed at, older facility, but comfortable and convenient amenities. The price was reasonable compared to other DC area hotels especially when you are just using it as a place to sleep. Location is also good for a $10 taxi to nearby DC attractions.

    4
« Hotel is clean, great for the price »

The hotel is basic but clean and quiet, and you can't beat the price in the area. You can walk to the metro, but it is up a small hill, and if you are handicapped in some way, the walk could be difficult. The restaurant attached to the hotel serves a very nice and cheap breakfast.

    5
« Keep coming back for more »

We have stayed at the Best Western Rosslyn/Iwo Jima numerous times. It's our go-to hotel. It doesn't have a ton of amenities (the internet is among the best any hotel offers) but it's close to the Metro, which is important for us. Whenever we're visiting the Washington D.C. area, we stay at this Best Western.

    « Okay »

Stayed for 1 night. Arrived very early, and they offered to give me a parking ticket as rooms were undergoing cleaning. A great customer service, so that we could sightsee in DC meanwhile. The hotel is a bit dated, but for the rate, it's a good choice. The metro is a mere 8 minute walk, in a safe area. Room was spacious, and felt somewhat clean. Standard motel cleaning I guess. Bathroom seemed very clean. Standard a bit low for Best Western in general, but considering the high rates in DC, and Arlington - and if you don't expect Holton service, then this hotel is a great centrally located place to crash.

    4
« Good price for DC »

Nice room for the price. Not far from all the action downtown. Front desk help were courteous, we asked them about Uber and they gave us a voucher for $20 off our first ride! Pool hours were a bit strange... Theres a pizza/ food joint next door that has good dinners too that we enjoyed.

« Preferred over BW in Rockland »

This BW isn't that far from Rockland but we preferred this one. It has a restaurant on site that is open for more than just breakfast and the staff were very helpful. Rooms are average, which is just about the same at any BW. As a customer experience expert, this chain has an opportunity to create moments within their customer journey that would help them to stand out from the crowd. Location is convenient as well.

« Great for visiting Washington DC »

As always good standard with best western ,very helpful staff and rooms clean and comfy, Restaurant on site is basic but good Happy hour was nice! Hotel with in walking distance of metro which takes you all over, also with in walking distance to the US MC memorial statue .

    « Not What I Expected »

Very old hotel and the edge of a questionable neighborhood. Way too expensive for what you get and does not offer a free breakfast like most Best Westerns. Take a pass and pay a few bucks more to stay somewhere nicer and closer to the city.

    5
    « Great stay »

My husband and I stayed overnight here and are usually early risers. We over slept! There was no noise, not even from the traffic that was passing by on the street from people going to work (we stayed during the work week). The bed was comfortable. The staff was helpful. A 4 block walk to the Metro. Great location.

« Great location, clean and comfortable »

Great, safe location close to metro station. Clean and comfortable room at a good price. Not fancy but more than adequate. Only complaint was the early morning noise in the parking courtyard. Cant fault the hotel for the behavior of rude people.

    3
« Excellent Location, but not up to standard »

The Rosslyn Neighborhood in Arlington is a great place to be and hotel at first glance had everything we hoped for. But the bedding had hair in it to start but after that was ok. But the biggest problem we had was the inability to keep connected with our internet activities but a huge damper on what was otherwise an excellent stay. Keep the restaurant though, the food and service there was excellent.

    5
« EXCELLENT IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE »

Best Western exceeded our needs at a most reasonable price. Always clean & comfortable. Friendly staff. Great location for the family. Close to Arlington National Cemetery and many local stores and restaurants. Onsite restaurant had good food, great prices and the staff was very accommodating for our large gathering.

    3
« Not a Bad Place To Stay »

Spent two nights here. Only complaint would be that there was some school group also staying at the hotel, and they would use the center court parking lot for the commercial buses. A little noisy during that time.

    4
« Decent for the price »

It was too expensive for us to stay in downtown DC. This Best Western was in our price range plus it is Metro-accessible and has free parking. There's an indoor pool too. The hotel is pretty basic and a little dated looking. We didn't hear any of our neighbors during our four-night stay. Our room faced the major road and the traffic was a low hum that didn't bother me. If you need a place to sleep that doesn't cost a fortune, this hotel fits the bill. The hotel does not serve breakfast. We ate at a Panera right near the Rosslyn Metro station. There are some restaurants near the station. There's also a Target express and (small) Safeway supermarket if you need drinks or snacks. There's a fridge in the room if you would like to keep your drinks cold. I didn't bother with the free wifi. It was too slow most of the time.

    5
    « Location and Value »

Just a great location close to subway to/from the District. Clean and Comfortable. We had 11 family memebers in four rooms, everyone was satisfied. Many great places to eat a short walking distance to Wilson Blvd. Easy Access to Georgetown. Grandkids used the indoor pool. All of this and value.

    4
« Adequate Hotel For What We Needed. »

Let me start off by saying you are going to get what you pay for here, so don't complain when it doesn't meet your expectations. If you are going to be sightseeing in Washington DC, and only looking for a place to lay your head at night all while saving a ton of money, this is the place for you. More than likely you will leave early in the morning and return late in the evening. Why would you need a frilly expensive hotel room to do that? This hotel sits across the street from Arlington National Cemetery, so you will find a lot of family members staying here who have formal ceremonies to attend. According to google maps there is a metro stop right out front of this hotel, although I never saw it once during my stay. I do know there are several metro bus line stops close by and along the way to Rosslyn Station. Rosslyn Station is a 10 minute walk and 0.4 miles away. I walked to and from Rosslyn Station each day without a problem. The neighborhood is safe and traffic was light. You mostly walk past parking garages, one of which has a plaque stating its infamous history linking to Watergate. The Belvedere Condominiums are directly behind and beside the BEST WESTERN Rosslyn/Iwo Jima, and they are beautiful! This is a very good neighborhood. Hillside Park is nearby in the other direction. Like I said, I walked to and from the Metro each day, leaving between 7 & 8 in the morning and returning between 6 & 7 at night. There was always workers sweeping and cleaning the streets. Always planting flowers and keeping the area beautiful. I found that to be true all over DC. They keep DC very well manicured. Walking in DC is an eye opening experience. Pedestrians always have the right of way and drivers go out of their way to stop for you. It was strange, but nice, and I quickly got used to it! The hotel is old, but clean. And like I said, adequate. There is safe off street parking with a parking garage as well. I arrived by taxi, which I do not recommend. But if you have to, you have to. In which case I did. The taxi driver will not help unload your luggage, or even load it for that matter. The driver will act like he does not have change for your $10, I had to insist on getting my change back. I would suggest if you are arriving by plane, to take the metro to Rosslyn Station and then walking the rest of the way to the hotel with your luggage. It will be quite a walk if you packed heavy, but it will be well worth it in the long run not having to deal with the taxi driver or the expense. I also suggest buying an unlimited metro pass which you can use for both the bus or the train. This is insanely handy because you have to pay each and every time you step on or off the metro. If you happen to find you got off or on the wrong line even just once, it will pay for itself! Upon arrival the front desk had my reservation ready and they were very friendly. There was a coffee and hot water machine in the lobby. Fruit was always available too. Across the parking lot is the Ledo Pizza & Pasta which also serves breakfast, lunch, & dinner. I cannot express how handy this was! I did have trouble with my heater/air conditioner not working. Maintenance came to work on it but I ended up having to change rooms half way through my stay which was not a problem. Well except when I changed rooms, evidently they didn't key the room right and gave the same room and key to someone else. This person then let himself into the room. Luckily I was dressed! My first room was an interior room in the enclosed portion of the hotel, down the hall from the check in desk. It had a small refrigerator and microwave. It was on the back side of the hotel so it looked out and up to the Belvedere Condominiums. The only bad things about this room was my window was it did not have a window screen. There was no bathroom fan and the front door was loose. My second room was in the same area, just across the hall from my first room, on the street side. It was also very nice. It was a little noisier with the airport and street noise. The swimming pool was a little scary. One of the pool lights was broken, pulled out of the wall, and set on the side of the pool. I wasn't sure if I was going to get electrocuted or not which was unnerving. The good news is, I didn't, and I am here to leave a review! Surprisingly they had a lifeguard at the pool. I've never experienced that before, but maybe it is DC law? He kept to himself, so that was fine. The most remarkable thing about this hotel is the customer service! I had inadvertently left behind a very special pillow. I did not realize this until I was halfway to Pennsylvania, and immediately called them. They knew exactly what I was talking about and said they would mail it to me at my next hotel stop. My pillow was carefully mailed in a priority box which arrived safely at my hotel in PA. This hotel went above and beyond for me and I am truly grateful! In the end I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. I felt safe and appreciated. And more importantly I saved so much money!

« Dont judge a book by its cover... »

Although an older hotel, it did not disappoint with helpful, friendly staff and beautiful clean room and bathroom. Although the walls appeared quite thin, our neighbours did not bother our sleep patterns and the overall three night stay was wonderful. With the hotel close to the subway stop (Rosslyn) and the affordable airport bus stop (Bus 5A), this hotel proved perfect to get around as well as walk to some nearby landmarks e.g. Arlington Cemetery and the breathtaking Iwo Jima War Memorial. To be quite frank, we found this hotel's location to be ideal as we could safely walk to the local supermarkets (Safeway is fantastic and well priced), Starbucks and the transport lines so we did not want for anything. Once the Silver Subway line is up and running, then transport will be even easier from Dulles International. Our room was spacious and included a microwave and fridge which helped us immensely with sorting out meals. The room also had other fringe benefits which were perfect to make our stay comfortable. The shower was over the bath which was fine for us but some guests would fine this uncomfortable. There was a coffee/tea machine in the main reception as well as coffee percolator in the room, so a hot beverage was never far away. Since the weather was still quite chilly, we did not attempt the indoor pool but we were quite tempted especially after a long day of sight seeing. Although close to a major road, the hotel and area is peaceful and streets tree lined. The rate suited our pocket, free wifi fast and the whole stay was pure pleasure. We would definitely stay there again.

« Less than average hotel stay »

We stayed here for 3 nights. Over all the experience was good. The building appears very dated, but the room was comfortable. However, the vending machines were quite depleted while we were there, and we weren't able to find bottled water in any machine in he building.

    « Sadly Disappointing. »

I have to say I was a little disappointed, having stayed at Best Western hotels in the past. Our room was part of what I can only describe as a 'Motel' wing and despite being moved from an extremely dark room on the ground floor in a corner, the room we were moved to was only slightly better.

    « Will return »

This hotel was better than I expected based on some of the reviews. If you like coffee, bring your own. There was a microwave, refrigerator and coffee pot in the room. Plenty of towels! I was very happy with that. the room was very clean and the proximity to DC was the best

    « Good Value & Comfortable Room »

The Best Western Iwo Jima was a good value and my room and bed were quiet and comfortable. The staff was professional and courteous. The hotel is a short walk to the Metro and restaurants. It was a busy week in DC. I would normally have stayed at a Hyatt, Hilton, or Marriott in the City, but all were priced near or over $350/night. The Best Western is in Arlington, but it didn't take long to get to my destination via the Metro and the cost was less than $200/night. It's also very convenient to DCA.

    3
« You Pay A high Price for the Location »

We stayed here while travelling home from Florida and spending a day sightseeing in Washington. It is a short walk to a MetroRail Station which made for easy access to the White House and the monuments. The rooms are old but clean. The restaurant is a a low quality Italian franchise and not that good. I imagine the price was good for Washington but it was the most we paid on the way home for the least quality accommodations. When we arrived we had to go to the desk three times to get a door card that worked. On the third try the maintenance guy had to wrench on the handle and ram the door with his shoulder to get it to open.

    3
« Great location, but no Wi-Fi; needs repairs »

Unfortunately, our stay was not great. Although this hotel is in a GREAT location (very convenient to metro) and staff were polite, I could not recommend. The Wi-Fi is terrible ... could not use my computer at all. Drip in the bathroom faucet hat kept us awake, tand tub wouldn't drain.

Stayed at this Best Western for a family trip to DC. Great price for the convenience to the metro station and restaurants. Safe area where we saw a few people jogging or walking around at night. Loved the option for free parking and Wi-Fi compared to other hotels in the area, which are more expensive and charge for those amenities separately. Seriously a great time and stay for our week long vacation.

« Comfotable Clean family friendly Hotel »

Great comfortable hotel for family DC visit. Great location; close to Metro and DC sites. Clean Pool on site, Italian restaurant across parking lot and other options with in walking distance. Free onsite parking. Knowledgeable staff. Recommend for family looking for clean and comfortable vs. luxurious.

« Old hotel, good location »

The bad things: The hotel is really old and the cleanliness of the rooms could be improved. There is no breakfast and it is next to a big road. The good things: The staff members were really, really friendly. Breakfast is available in a restaurant next door (the service is bad and the prices are relatively high, but put this in your mind and you'll be fine) (the second day we even got a smile from the waitress! ;) Also there is an indoor swimming pool! Old as well but that was fine for me. Location is very good, like 5 minutes away from the tube and in a few stops you are in the city. In sum, if we get a good deal we would come back here to visit DC.

« Easy in and easy out »

Visiting Washington DC can be daunting. Being able to find a place to stay that is relatively easy to find, reasonably priced, quiet, comfortable and close to the Mall is a blessing. The Iwo Jima is a good choice. Breakfast is not included in the price but in the restaurant just next door you can find an excellent selection of typical hot breakfast meals. One particular benefit is the hotel's close proximity to Interstate 365 if you happen to be driving south towards Williamsburg after your visit to the city.

« Good Enough for One Night »

Although I used my rewards points for a one night free stay I was disappointed the hotel was outdated. Probably built in the 1960's. I would have expected a more modern hotel so close to Washington, D.C. And after more than a dozen BW stays in the last 12 months, this was the first one that didn't offer a complimentary breakfast. I was pointed in the direction of a pizza restaurant within the hotel property that served breakfast. Overall, the room was comfortable enough for a one night stay.

« Great location and clean room »

Great Location 8-10 min walking from Rosslyn Metro station, friendly staff, clean room and bathroom, very good service of wifi. Ledo a good restaurant at hotel to eat breakfast and pizza, I recommend it.

    « nice stay »

A nice motel was clean and well taken care of staff was friendly. Is close to metro stations buses what ever you want to take. The restaurant attached to it was good fairly priced a very nice experience. Would stay again

« Convenient Location, but Found Dirty Sock in Room »

We stayed at this hotel because it was much cheaper than staying in Washington DC. We did not expect a luxury hotel and this is not a luxury hotel. It was a convenient location not far from a metro station. However, the cleanliness is substandard. We found a granola bar, loose pieces of cereal, a small box (packaging for someone else's souvenir) and a dirty sock in our room. We advised the desk about this on checkout, and they wrote down the information. They seemd concerned but I don't know what they did about this. The internet was also very slow.

    2
    « Worst Room Ever »

Allocated to the worst room in the hotel: - Noisy Ice Machine and vending machine outside room - Right next to Housekeeping - Next to stairwell and door to swimming - Room dark as window looked onto wall of pool area - Hotel would not move us to another room

    « Eh »

We chose this hotel while staying in DC for a family vacation. We stayed several nights, so the relatively low price of this hotel was attractive, but we wanted a good night of sleep. This hotel is dated, and so are the in-room refrigerator and air conditioning, which went off and on all night long. Large groups also seem to stay here, and we were unlucky enough to be here while a large group of teenagers stayed here. This caused the already problematic wifi to blow up and there was lots of late night noise with this group. When the wifi access went down, the front staff told me to call tech support. I have never once had to call tech support at a hotel. Wifi is included as part of the stay, so why are customers supposed to call tech support?!?! The hotel is about 10 min from the subway, which is nice. The front desk staff was nice (aside from making me call tech support). The hotel rooms are dated, but the staff was good at keeping the room clean and resupplying cups, coffee, etc. We were never told why the fire alarm went off at 1am one of the nights we were there. That did not make for a good night of sleep.

    3
« Basic hotel but great location »

The room was ok, nothing special, but that is not why you stay. 2 block walking distance to the Metro is (slight up hill walk on way there but not too bad). My room was near lobby so was a little loud, but I was mostly tired from the days adventures to care. A restaurant shares the parking lot which is convenient for breakfast.

    4
« Excellent location and friendly staff »

We made this reservation nearly a year in advance of spring break. This hotel does not have complimentary breakfast which turned out to be a plus because we just ate cereal and fruit every morning in our room and got on our agenda quickly. We bought $28 Metro passes for the each of us and used $23 of it. The Metro station is very close to this hotel which was bonus, The staff was very helpful for directions. Lots of stores are really close by and convenient. After researching all the hotels and locations, We were very glad we chose Best Western- Rosslyn/IWO JIMA.

« Staff helpful but was clearly on a personal call »

I stayed earlier this week and was helped with my luggage. The guy that helped me out was an African American male wearing red. Looked like maintenance staff. He was clearly on a personal phone call using his bluetooth headset. I would assume that this behavior is not allowed in any line of business. Other than that the location was great and the hotel room was decent.

    « Average »

The biggest hotel room I have stayed in, we got the corner twin room on the second floor above the restaurant. Just your average best western, facilities include coffee and tea making, a fridge, iron with ironing board, plenty towels toiletries, hairdryer, tv, air con and a heater. The location was perfect for our visit, walking distance to Arlington national cemetery and then down to the national mall. After a long day we decided to get a taxi back, we hailed one from outside the white house it cost $12 back to the hotel. It isn't somewhere I would actively recommend but I would be fine to stay here again.

    3
    « Cherry Blossom business »

This hotel is average at best. For a family on a budget, adequate. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND for a Business person. The hotel WIFI is non existant. Had to use my phone as a hotspot just to connect. The hotel staff were aware of the problem but couldn't fix it. Ledo's Restaurant is a very good place to eat and relax. Amy and her staff are friendly despite some challenges with understanding English.

    « Family vaca 2016 »

The hotel was nice enough. The location was conveinant for things to do. Our room was not ready for 30 minutes after check in. The inside pool area and pool water was fairly chilly. The staff was nice and I would probably stay again. The hotel seems fairly older. For the price I would have like to have had a bit nicer hotel or at least a free continental breakfast to offset the higher price. I do feel like we paid to much for this particular hotel, but like I said, it was convenient and it had a indoor pool which is major plus when traveling with kids. And the cooler water didn't stop them from having a blast.

« Average for a Best Western hotel »

When we travel in the US, we will often stay at Best Western Hotels. This hotel was OK. Location Pros: Very convenient to downtown Washington. We visited the Capital on a dreary, cool, rainy Saturday in March. We took the chance that we could find parking close to the monuments and museums. We lucked out. It was approximately a two mile drive to the Lincoln Memorial and we found free parking right on Constitution Drive, directly across from the Vietnam Memorial. We were able to walk through downtown as far as the Supreme Court and back. It was a long walk but definitely doable. The hotel is about a five minute walk to the Iwo Jima Memorial. It is a short drive to Arlington Cemetery. Hotel Pros: Easy, on-site, free parking The front desk staff was friendly and there was always someone there to assist with questions concerning the area. The rooms are a little tired but adequate. Our room was on the dark side and the windows needed a good cleaning but the bed was comfy, the water pressure in the shower felt wonderful and the water was nice and warm. The Internet was slow at times and kicked my husband off-line a few times while he was working on his computer. On-site Restaurant is Ledo's Pizza. The restaurant is open early for breakfast. The menu is not vast but you should find something to your liking. The food is good but the wait staff is fairly slow. It was fine because we were not on a strict time schedule. The restaurant décor is dated and it's a little dark inside but suited our needs because it was convenient. Overall our stay was OK and we would stay here again but this hotel is not one of Best Western's best.

    3
    « Great Location »

The hotel is very close to Arlington Cemetery. I was attending a 9:00AM funeral service and did not want to deal with morning traffic. Room was clean. I was in corner room off parking area but still very quiet. Hotel restaurant offered good menu. Oatmeal was great as was the service

    3
    « Great location »

Although this hotel needs a lot of updating, the location is excellent, a short walk to the metro and various cheap places to eat. The bed was comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Adding breakfast would have been a plus but it wasn't a big deal as still had coffee available. Would stay here again because you can't beat the price and I was on a budget!

    4
    « Discover America »

The location was a little far from down town. It was clean and the room was big and confortable. Had a coffee machine and microwave, refrigerator. For me its important to be able to open the window and this hotel did. Happy to be able to stayed here.

    4
« Budget hotel easy walk from Metro »

This is a budget hotel but the staff was friendly and they were not mean with the towels. The towels were bright white, fluffy & absorbent. There is coffee in the room and lobby. Next door is a great casual restaurant & bar. Would stay here again if touring DC.

    5
    « Good Choice »

Had to attend a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, and this was a great choice for lodging: a few minutes from the cemetery and just a few more to DC; reasonable price; parking garage; pleasant staff; comfortable, clean accommodations; restaurant adjacent.

    4
« GREAT for the money »

This is not a 5 star, but it isn't trying to be. Driving outside of downtown DC by only 2 miles saved us $250! Great pool for the grandkids. Very clean and comfortable rooms, and a wonderful restaurant across the parking lot. We will return.

  • 3
    « Good enough »

Listen, folks. This isn't the Ritz. If you expect it to be, you're nuts. For $150, in DC, near a metro: it's good enough. A 10 minute walk to the Rosslyn metro station with free parking are the positives. Mattresses and pillows comfortable enough. Shower is hot enough. Internet is slow and spotty. This isn't good enough. It's good enough.

    2
« Good Location but poor service »

Good thing first. Location is convenient for visiting Washington. There are 2 types of room - ones in the main building and ones outside. The ones inside are decent while the ones outside (motel style) are horrible. It was extremely cold and the heat was not sufficient. We had to change our room in the middle of the night. The new room was no better. Plus it did not have hot water. The hotel staff especially the person at the reception was not bothered. Internet here is super slow. Don't bank on it.

    4
    « Helpful hint »

If staying at this property request a room in the building with the lobby these rooms open into enclosed hallways and can be accessed by the elevator. Other rooms open to the exterior balcony and require you to climb the stairs to access the rooms.

    « Great value! »

This is a very good hotel to stay at if you're on a budget and want to stay close to Washington. It was clean, about a 10 minute walk to the subway and had free parking. It looked like they were painting the main parking lot but there were plenty of spots available in the parking garage. If anything, it's nice to know they were making improvements to the hotel. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and seemed sincere. My kids loved taking a break in the indoor pool...the water was nice and warm. The only issue I found were that the beds were a little too soft for my liking but overall, we had a very good experience at this hotel and the price was excellent!

    1
« Extremely poor service and unfriendly services »

The reason we decided to stay in this hotel was a memorable experience during our stay at the same location eight years ago in the year 2008. To our great dismay, we found that everything about this hotel has changed and the quality of service has deteriorated dramatically. The parking lot was closed in spite of having plenty of empty spaces. We had to park in the basement. All the baggage and a family member on a wheelchair had to be pushed all the way along from the main entrance to the hotel room, in spite of making repeated requests to the receptionists. We requested them to let us park in front of our room (#114) for the sake of my wheelchair-bound family member, but in vain. The vending machines in front of our room (#114) were broken down. After walking into the main building, climbing up on the second floor, and walking all the way to the end of the corridor, we found that all items (water, soda) in that vending machine had been sold out. Eventually we managed to get a bottle of soda from the vending machine on the third floor of the main building. We asked the room service for some extra coffee cups and never received them. The only bright side of the hotel was the Ledo Pizza restaurant. They served excellent breakfast and their service was truly outstanding.

« excellent value and location »

This hotel is an excellent value if you are planning a trip to the DC area. It is walking distance to a Metro stop and grocery store. It was clean and comfortable. The pool was a wonderful way to relax after a long day of sightseeing and the wifi and parking is free. I would definitely stay there again!

    3
    « Mediocre »

Cons: - Fridge noises - No drinkable water in rooms - Poor quality stuff at the bathroom - Way overpriced Pros: - Good, spacey room - nIce bed overall Overall I don't think that the hotel is worth the money you need to pay to stay there. Was one of the cheapest in the area though.

    3
    « Price - value good »

Good location and free parking is a plus. Overall accomodation and easy of access is very good for the price. Hotel is clean and staff is friendly. I would stay here again next time around. Metro is not too far a way

« Trip to DC for Rock n Roll Half Marathon »

We came to DC for the Rock n Roll Half Marathon. We stayed out of the city to save money. The location was great to the train and we were able to walk to the grocery store and restaurants. It is a little noisy if you are in the room by the pool.

    5
« Great Place to stay. »

Rooms are up to date, clean and very cozy, staff very professional, knowledgeable and answered all questions I had at check-in, not far from the surrounding sites of the city, If I'm every in the Washington DC area again this will be my first stop for an affordable, clean, and comfortable nights stay.

« Great bang for your buck »

People, food, price, and location were awesome!. Will use again! Can't say enough good things about the food quality and price! Location was very close to where we wanted to visit. Daily rate was very fair!

    4
    « Washington stay »

I thought good value for the price. The walk to Washington Metro was about 1 mile or so. Room was nice with no issues throughout the entire stay. Parking was not a problem for the location. Internet worked great and fitness room while hot and equipment a little on the old side was good enough for average workout.

    4
« Good place near Rosslyn subway station, Iwo Jima monument and Arlington cemetery »

+ Good location: Rosslyn subway station up to 10min of walking, Iwo Jimo monument and Arlington cemetery up to 20min of walking, the city centre also in acceptable walking distance + Double room enough spacious + Clean +/- Free wi-fi, but I had to adjust several wi-fi settings in PC which was not so easy (but in mobile I did't have any problem...strange) - No wardrobe for clothes, just several hangers in bathroom

    5
    « Best location »

The location is excellent, you will get more then what you pay for! The rooms would need renovation but you can not expect more for your money. You can notice wear and tear mostly in the bathroom but it was clean.

    4
« The room was comfy and quiet »

We stayed here about 3 months ago and liked it. The room was comfy and quiet. Parking is available and free. Front desk very helpful. It takes a few minutes to get to Washington touristic places. Great restaurants within walking distance to the hotel. We would recommend this hotel whether you are traveling to Washington DC.

« My Stay in Best Western Rosslyn »

« Best Western can do Better. »

If paying for a 2 star hotel with 3 star prices is your thing then by all means choose the Best Western/ Iwo Jima in Arlington., Va. The decor had it's moment in 1984 and has been used well since then. The location is ideal for visits to area monuments and cemeteries, and by using local Taxis (reasonable) you can leave your auto in the hotel's lot. The staff is excellent and helpful. We made do with our visit but expect much more from Best Western.

    3
    « Good for location »

Con's: Air conditioning didn't work well, there was no hot water for the showers, the WiFi was VERY slow, if it worked at all and the rooms could definitely use an upgrade Pro's: Very friendly staff, less than a 10 minute walk to the metro and close to most D.C. attractions, located in a nice area of town and one of the least expensive hotels in the area Overall: If you are looking to spend most of your time visiting the attractions and just need a good priced place to sleep at night this is the hotel for you.

    4
    « Short DC visit »

The bed was wonderful-I would take it home if I could have. It was a short walk to the Iwo Jima Memorial-the stairs to the highway crossover were almost directly across from the motel. The metro entrance was 2 1/2 long blocks away. Up the hill near the metro were several restaurants and a grocery store. The motel was older, but clean. Except for the first day, plenty of hot water. It is dated, but you can't beat the location. They have a dedicated cab line & my cab came in 10 min. The staff were friendly. There is a printer to print out boarding passes too.

    4
    « needs some help »

Motel good for the value, close to the Metro. Heat did not do much to heat up the room. Wish somebody would have told us there was no elevator to our room. Experienced noisy neighbors at 3 in the morning. Security apparently does not make rounds or they would have heard them - it was that loud.

« Retrun visit vert confortable »

I stayed here about a year ago and liked it. I must say, this time the front desk staff is very helpful. One night a staffer even loaned me an umbrella. The room was comfy and quiet. I was happy to have a fridge and microwave in the room for snacks and breakfast. Very convenient for Arlington and points nearby

    5
    « Good location, comfortable »

This hotel is in a great location for exploring the area. Nice to have free onsite parking. The price is surprisingly affordable for the location relative to others in the area. We walked to dinner. Shopping is also walking difference. The area is safe for walking with business, hotels and residences in the area.

    2
    « Unconcerned attitude »

Checking is was very unpleasant. No easy handicap assesibity at all! I'm on oxygen , so why would you put me on second floor outside up flight of stairs...I really didn't appreciate it..so I returned to front desk and explain to the lady I'm on oxygen and I can't climb stairs she says well you made reservations, and I said yes but how was it suppose to know you didn't have elevator? ? She really ticked me off to the point of tears, and moved me to first floor. So rude and unconcerned. I'll never stay at Best Western again??

« Great Value for the Price »

We recently visited DC and stayed at this Best Western in Arlington because we had a large group and hotels in DC were outrageously expensive. We had 3 rooms for a 3 night stay and it was the best decision, rather than cram a bunch of people in one tiny room somewhere else in DC. The rooms were spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and big. We did not have much interaction with the staff other than to check in but they were pleasant when we did. Free coffee is offered in the hotel lobby. Parking is also free, which is a big plus. Although there are limited spaces in the courtyard, there is also a large underground parking garage. The location is very central to public transportation, only a couple blocks from the Rosslyn metro and just a few minutes by car from Georgetown and about a 15 minute drive to DC.

    5
    « nice, convenient, friendly »

we had a king room with a comfortable bed and the necessary amenities - a couple of blocks to metro, free parking and all the staff were extremely nice. Indoor pool is available and a small fitness room. coffee in lobby, just no breakfast. convenient for driving and metro

    4
« Great Value for money »

We were a bit uncertain how this would be, seeing as the price was very reasonable, however it was one of the best value motels on our trip. Huge rooms, well appointed. They even had a microwave and a fridge (not a silly ice machine like a lot of US motels do). We had two rooms with an adjoining door. I think we may have been in the older section, but it was spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable. Free on site parking. Very importantly if you are travelling, there is an on site laundry to catch up on the washing with. There is an on site restaurant with good quality, high calorie and well priced meals. Also licenced. We were there during Snowzilla, so used an uber to get in and out of the city. Normally about a 15 minute drive and about $15 US per trip, which we thought was pretty good.

    4
    « Good hotel »

That's a good hotel. Average fare and good wi-fi internet. The free parking available can be a difference in a town like Washington. The hotel is located in the other side of the bridge but just a few minutes from the main attraction at Washington.

    4
« Great Price Great location »

Stayed at this hotel while visiting DC. The Hotel itself is nice, location is excellent close to everything. The price is good for being so close to DC. The staff was friendly. I enjoyed my stay there so much I have booked this hotel for my next vacation to DC.

    3
« Good location, bad customer service »

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights. While the location is OK, unfortunately the management was bad. There was no hot water in the room for several hours one day, any questions about it were dismissed. Also the room had an old smell to it.

    4
« Very nice and practical hotel in DC »

Free parking, easy walking distance to Metro station, friendly staff, clean room...all at a very fair price. I was very happy with the hotel and will stay there again in future trips. There is also a little restaurant just next door that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Free wi fi, Free parking, Nice room with a micro and fridge. My daughter and her family stayed a half mile away at the Marriott. Her bill was more than 3 times as much and I kept the car because she would have had to pay for parking. Neither hotel had a free breakfast.

    3
« Good hotel to visit Washington with a car »

The hotel is in a good position to visit Washington if you have a car. There is free parking and both a subway station and bike share station nearby. You can be in Washington DC in a few minutes. The place is quiet and calm, furniture is aging but ok for the price. There is free tea and apple in the lobby.

This hotel is basic with medium size rooms, comfortable beds, neat functional bathroom, fridge and microwave, heating kept us warm. Rooms with motel style outside entrance and from inside corridor. Business center a desk by the front desk with printer and pc.Pool looked neat, small gym with basic equipment. Coffee and water fountain complementary at front desk. Ledo's pizza served also breakfast. Only complaint for the dusty carpet.Metro, restaurants, starbucks close.

« Lovely staff, clean rooms »

After traveling for 15 hours and over 3000 miles it was great to walk in to a very happy very helpful receptionist. I loved every minute in DC and the staff were so helpful with pointing out directions to different attractions. At resception there were loads of leaflets on different things to do and was able to book a trip to New York. It is so close to everything especially the cemetery. Room was above what I was expecting and we were provided with fresh linen everyday. I would definitely come back here. Thank you very much to all the staff. You made this Scottish girl feel very welcome!

    3
    « Not to bad »

The hotel wasn't bad and the price was great. It was also close to the downtown area. The rooms were neat and some what clean. Overall my stay was not that bad. (The survey makes you write a 200 word minimum review so I'm just wasting space.)

    « BW Rosslyn / Iwo Jima »

Very Nice place, close to train, car renta (enterprise). Clean room, ver nice people on front desk. Good parking garage. On front desk coffe machinery 24/7 and also tea. Free internet available but pay attention that USA use electricity plugs different for Brazil and I've to buy plugs. Close to Target store, CVS pharmacy, Starbucks.

    4
    « Don't Forget Iwo Jima »

This hotel is great for the budget conscious. It is within walking distance to the Iwo Jima Marine Memorial, the Rosslyn Metro Station, restaurants, and Safeway supermarket. Other pluses are free parking and free WiFi in the rooms. Sorry, no breakfast buffet, just tea or coffee.

    2
    « Cold Room »

« Very good basic hotel »

Recommended for tourists looking for a budget place to spend the night while visiting the DC area. The rooms were average - they were not in the building where the office is and looked old but the rooms were clean with microwave and fridge, the bed was really good, and the housekeeping staff visited everyday. The Rosslyn station is a 10 min walk with plenty of trains to the Smithsonian. Grocery stores are also a 10 min walk.

    4
« Good Hotel, great position, just a bit noise. »

All perfect, but... the air conditioned system made a lot of noise all night long. Free covered parking, swimming pool available, breakfats not included but outside there is a good place to do it, just a little bit expensive.

    3
« Affordable but not much else »

The price of the hotel, with tax, was just over $73 a night, which for the DC area is a steal. It is within walking distance of the Metro and parking is free, both big plusses. I have stayed at this property numerous times, but this is the first time I stayed in a courtyard room. Much different than in the tower. First, you can feel the floor rumble every time a subway passes, which I never felt in the tower. The decor in the courtyard rooms was very dated, like walking a few decades into the past. The room was comfortable, and the HVAC worked well. The bathroom had a touch of mildew. The courtyard room was very noisy. we were right outside the metal stairs to the second floor, and on the third morning, someone bringing their luggage down this staircase woke us up with a startle. The restaurant is mediocre at best, very pricy with okay food. It would have been nice to have a simple continental breakfast available.

    5
    « Great Hotel »

I would recommend this hotel anyone wanting to stay in the metro District of Columbia area. This property is close to the Rosslyn Metro train station. The staff is more then great at this property. I have received world class customer and guest service during my stay. Next time your in the District of Columbia area stay at this hotel. The make you feel welcomed and I call this property my home away from home.

    4
    « Overall Very Good »

I thought this hotel was a very good option for students on a budget like myself. The internet was a little slow, but I enjoyed my stay here. Only one other comment: the hotel staff here seemed unusually strange. I have never stayed at a hotel where the reception staff talked to you in a robotic, monotone way like they do here. It was not a big deal, but it did put me off a bit, especially because all of the staff were like that. They were polite but did not display a terribly welcoming vibe.

    5
« Excellent service. Decent condition »

Motel is a stones throw away from Arlington memorial and not very far from D.C. Me and my friends walked to the Lincoln memorial in less than an hour, spent the whole day in D.C., and walked back without becoming *too* exhausted. (We are all young adults). Front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was clean. We didn't mind being roomed in the older part of the motel - (outdoor). It wasn't that loud.

    5
« Perfect for a short trip to DC »

So glad that I found this hotel. It's in close proximity to the Metro station (which was the only way I traveled during this trip) and the booking rate was really cheap. Being from NYC and working in hospitality myself, I'm used to tiny rooms, so I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the king room was. Ample floor space even with a desk, dresser, fridge/microwave, armchair and ottoman. There was no breakfast, but there was 24 hour coffee and tea in the lobby, along with ice and vending machines (a bit of a walk depending on where your room is). My only complaint would be that the WiFi was super slow at best, but it wasn't a huge issue for me; I wasn't in the room that much and when I was I spent most of my time watching TV or sleeping. Overall it was a great experience and I'll definitely stay again on my next trip to DC.

« Good Value with Issues »

This is a good value Best Western with limited amenities but in a great location for the Rosslyn Metro station and the Iwo Jima memorial. The hotel is a little old but clean, the front desk staff were very helpful, professional and friendly. This hotel has free parking which is a bonus in the DC area and there is plenty of it. My family used the swimming pool one evening and the chemical levels were so high that they all ended up with very sore eyes for the next 24 hours.

« Average for its price »

Aprox, 3 blocks from Metro station, parking included on price. Breakfast is not included, a very small restaurant is next door. There were stains on the hotel room carpet. Good enough for a budget trip to visit Washington DC and just crash at night, nothing more.

« Best Western: Iwo Jima, Arlington VA »

The hotel was in a great location... we were on our way south, and wanted to see Arlington Cemetery and Iwo Jima Monument.... The hotel was lovely.... no issues. The only problem was FOOD: we didn't know what to do about breakfast with our two teen daughters. There was a place next door and we should have just eaten there... instead we found a Dunkin Donuts.

    « convenience »

Convenient location, very helpful and friendly reception staff. We paid extra for a king suite in a courtyard room but it was the worse nights sleep ever. The room although a good size was not in a good state of repair, everything was falling apart, the hairdryer did not work, toiletries were sparse, and the toilet handle did not go back up to refill. We were woken up by very loud, weird noises coming from what sounded like animals crawling inside the wall/ceiling, this went on for hours. We called security, he heard the noises inside our room & he couldn' t explain it. We asked to move to another room but were told, the hotel was fully booked & no other rooms were available for us. After a long flight from the UK & no sleep we were not impressed! Next time we are in the city we will choose another hotel.

« Best Western Iwo Jima last minute late deal hotel »

I am travelling with my family of 4 when I wanted to visit US Capitol Visitor Center after I made the reservation online on Dec 31, 2015. Great hotel with indoor pool but not heated pool, booked the best deal via booking.com for last minute late deal but not incld breakfast. Great location for food and free parking with permit from hotel.

« Close to DC and Rosslyn Metro Station »

The room was clean and nice. The bathroom is a bit old-style, but clean/adequate. The restaurant was surprisingly nice ... don't let the outside fool you! The hotel is only .5 miles from the Rosslyn Metro station so we could get anywhere easily and the walk felt safe. A Panera and drug store are right in the station building so that was very convenient. Good value so near Washington, DC.

    « Beware! Mice Everywhere! »

If you book a queen room, beware, this hotel is infested with mice. Do not have food in your room. Expect to hear the mice in the walls. The management is non-existent and the front desk people do not care (they can't do anything). If you leave something in the room, you are giving it to the housekeepers. Read the other reviews. Also, the pool has way too much chlorine. It bleached our swimsuits. Pros: The rooms seem clean and the location is great. The restaurant is awesome! Free parking. ^ Is it worth it? ^

    2
    « Old Motel »

Old Motel in a good location. Very basic security and room was barely clean. Bed sheets were not ironed or steamed and looked used. Overall not a great place. Restaurants are 5 minutes drive. Iwo Jima memorial is 5 minutes walk.

    « Best Western »

I would NEVER recomend this hotel. We arrive on Friday, at the begining everything looks pretty normal. We went out and then we came back with snacks, food, drinks, but at nigth we were trying to sleep and we turn off the ligths and sometime was making a sound, after several times we couldn't sleep and we turn on the ligths, and there were mices in the room, near the food, the cabinet near the refregirator, my husband killed one and went to the desktop and we had other room. At 3am we were in pijamas chanching rooms and taking out our things. Besides we went 3 times to ask for the manager and he never showed up because we want to leave the hotel and our money back. So after some days complaining about it a guy from the hotel discount us the first night.

    « Don't Waste Your Money Here! »

Spend a few more dollars somewhere else for better security, updated facility, cleanliness and friendliness. Proximity to Metro is short walking distance, but no shuttle for those unable to walk. Adjacent restaurant was always closed; no food services nearby.

« Run down, noisy hotel »

Our first floor room was next door to the laundry room, available 24/7 for guests. the banging from the machines was awful ( I thin the room was 119. The staircase above room had kids running up and down in the afternoon. We changed rooms and were next to a room with renovations taking place- drilling in the bathroom next door went on for an hour. The shower was disgusting, moldy tile grout, broken tile, rusty light fixtures and to top off the experience, i stood in water up to my ankles after shower was on for a couple of minutes. The price was right, because this place is a dump. I don't know why other Trip Advisor reviewers gave this place decent ratings- this Best Western is disgusting.

« Great Price, Great Location! »

A great bargain! Just keep in mind this is a nice motel, NOT a luxury hotel. Clean room, the usual TV/ fridge/microwave/coffee maker setup; free parking in an open courtyard or parking deck; indoor pool; free Wifi; ALL rooms non-smoking (so no smell coming in from next room); and about an 8 minute drive to the National Mall. The motel is a short way down the road across the 14th bridge over the Potomac. Also a 10-minute walk to a Metro station for those who don't want to brave the traffic. Oh, and less expensive than some motels I've stayed at in much less travelled areas. Yes, the parking deck is tight - most are, especially this close to a major city. But it's free, with elevator access to your floor, and in our case out of the rain from car to room.

« Expedient location to the sights in Wash D. C. »

We are a three generation family that researches the activities and sights to proceed with choosing a place with comfort and location. Time is precious so plan ahead to enjoy your trip. Best Western next to the Iwo Jima Memorial provides one with immediate access to the activities and sights by car and Metro(two blocks away). The staff is attentive and courteous. The facilities are clean and comfortable. The hotel and area are safe. Go to Wilson Blvd.(two blocks away) and you have all services available(pharmacy, food stores, restaurants, gas, banks, etc...). The price is one of the very best deals in town. Become a member of Best Western to enhance the value provided by them. Enjoy and be happy!

« Wierd location, but not too bad »

Check in was easy, parking is either in the courtyard or in a very tight garage. restaurant across courtyard has great breakfast. The only complaint I had was that someone, on the first day, must have Febreeze'd the hell out of the room to cover up something because I teared up when I entered the room from the fumes, but a quick opening of the door and leave it open for 5 minutes took care of it. Towards the end of the stay {1 week} the room did have a slight musty smell.

    « Never Again »

My wife and I checked in to this motel only for a night so I could visit with my son at Arlington National Cemetery. The trip was stressful in itself I will admit. My wife and i both have breathing problems and ask for a room closer to the parking lot on first floor. I booked this room on line and was told "I got what I booked and there would be no adjustment. money wasn't an object, I would have paid more but it was not offered. The room was ok, but I had to walk and carry my luggage a distance that was a bit too far for my health. Under the circumstances I think the staff could have been a lot more helpful. I will not stay there again.

« Couldn't beat the price. Was impressed »

It's not fancy, but I was happy with our stay. Clean room. Free parking ( hard to find so close to Reagan airport) Low rates. Close to Arlington national cemetery. Nice neighborhood. I Would recommend.

« Great access to all of DC »

Comfortable 2 nights spent here. While we were right next o Arlington Boulevard, we didn't hear a thing. As we had a car, access to everything was good. Capitol hill, georgetown etc was 8-10mins away. Though there is no breakfast, there are hot drinks. A diner is within a min walk while safeway n target is a 5-10min walk. Recommended and value for money for pricey DC.

« Cheap hotel near DC »

We had an impromptu roadtrip to DC around the first week of December. After trying to look for a hotel within Downtown DC that comes with free parking, we ended up in this hotel just less than 5minutes away from Georgetown. The staff is very polite. The room looked kind of tired, but it was very clean. They have free coffees and teas at the lobby. It's also free parking. The restaurants are all walking distance. Good location for an affordable price.

« Best part of my stay was Ledo's Pizza next door »

Needed a inexpensive but clean place to stay as I was helping my son move out of Arlington and as a Best Western member selected this property. Checked in late evening so no issue as others have experienced, decent rate (but no breakfast included). Driving on route 50 its on a side road so drive as slowly as 50 will allow you to. Room decent. Internet did not work. Parking ok but signs about leaving things in vehicle. Also room key does not get you in the side door....bit of a hassle. Very average hotel. BTW Get a room away from route 50 and traffic. get an inside room. For the best Pizza, no better than Ledo's. So try it.

« Criminal Policy and Unaccomodating Inflexibility »

My room was reserved by a friend on her credit card and I was going to pay cash upon arrival. Because I do not use credit cards, I was not allowed to stay at the Best Western Io Jima even though my friend had charged it for me to hold it and was told it was non refundable (reservation made one hour prior). I had to go to another hotel (Marriott ) where this policy did not exist and I was allowed to stay there instead. My friend was told she couldnot have a refund even though they refused to allow me to stay there.

« Best Western Rosslyn/Iwo Jima is very affordable »

This retro-looking (1950s-ish) Best Western offers no frills. It is very plain, very clean, and the staff is very pleasant. I stayed there in August 2014 and again in December 2015. My experience was excellent both times. The Metro is about a half mile away, but it requires a walk up a rather steep hill. I enjoyed the exercise and fresh air. I am 67 years old. I would definitely stay at this Best Western again. This simple Best Western enables me to have an affordable stay in the Washington area. I don't stay in the room all day, anyway, so why would I need resort-type amenities when I go there?

    3
    « Check In Time Beware !!! »

The 3 pm check in time is crazy ! I was there at noon, and had to wait in the lobby for 3 hours, along with a LOT of other folks in the same situation. Clearly, rooms were ready well ahead of time, but they refuse to fill them on an "as available" basis. Not good !

« Good location, comfortable place. »

We only had one night here but we did like the location. Easy to park, few minutes to get to Washington touristic places. Indoor pool and a restaurant just steps away. Nice staff, and very clean room.

    « Pool Problems »

For the most part, everything was good, and Dwight was very helpful at check-in. However, this hotel was booked for the indoor pool. On the 1st night of swimming it was too cold, and the lifeguard did not have the ability to adjust the temperature. After speaking to the front desk, the pool was completely closed the next night. Five year olds are not happy when promised pools are unavailable.

    4
    « Good Service! »

Very good service and room cleaning. The position is good, and well linked with metro. During our stay we had a good impression about employers, very available for any request. Price is adeguate to the services offered.

    3
« Comfortable but not Excessive »

Not up to BW standards. It was clean and comfortable if a little cramped. Staff spoke little English, breakfast was not full breakfast others serve - clerk put out little dry looking pastries using a Kleenex! That and coffee was it. Pool is indoors, but in a cold windy open building and you have to go outside to get to and from it. Internet was available but could not sign on and staff was clueless.

« Close to Metro, nice stay! »

Was pleased with my Stay. Arrived at 1200 from another hotel, Could not check in til 3pm, but was able leave my luggage in a secure area. Was 8-9 minute walk to The Rosslyn Metro stop where you can catch the , orange, silver or Blue Lines. Cab Ride is only $5.00 or less. Metro goes to Reagan airport and also stops near Capitol. Hotel has rooms with doors inside, and doors from outside to rooms. Ask which beds are in which rooms. Ledos restaurant is located on property. Decent prices, pizza, and other foods. Room was not very big, but had a microwave and refrigerator. Room was clean and Free Wifi ran pretty good. My room was close to office. Free coffee in lounge. Decent price for a hotel in this area. Price goes down on multi night stays.

« Best Western Arlington Blvd »

The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to Arlington Cemetery and metro. The staff is wonderful. Rooms were very clean but very dated. Older décor and overall appearance of rooms. Really good quality for the price you pay. Would recommend staying here.

« Good value for location »

Biggest problem was finding the hotel because it is on Fairfax Ave, not Arlington Blvd (which run parallel). If you plan to go here, Google the location carefully or you will miss it. The insulation between rooms and the outside corridor was not great, but people were quiet. Bed was comfortable, as was the room. No problem with hot water, although the tap in the sink was quirky. TV didn't have all channels and some were "snowy". Staff were quite helpful. The restaurant was reasonably priced.

« Salute to American Value »

This hotel is sure to be a favorite with veterans, displaying museum quality art honoring service members throughout the hotel. Location is fantastic, easy reach to Georgetown, Arlington Cemetery and the monuments and convenient to GW Parkway and US 50. Neighbored by other value hotels and apartment high-rise, this might be one of the few places in the area that offers FREE PARKING. I did not explore the walkability of the neighborhood in my one night, but the restaurant across the way had a broad menu and reasonable pricing. My room featured nice upgrades in the bathroom and bedroom, including a mini-fridge and microwave that would be handy for longer visits and traveling with family. A charming hotel in the area, ideal for motorists traveling to see the sites.

    4
« Good hotel at a fair price »

A good hotel near DC centre offering a comfortable room with: wi-fi, TV, fridge, microwave and a coffee machine. The only downside for me was that the room was somewhat noisy (thin walls with neighbouring rooms and strange pipe noises throughout the night).

    3
    « Average »

Pros: Pay for what you get. Felt safe and slept easily (once acclimated to the smell) at hotel. Easy to park and to find hotel. Near the metro, CVS and restaurants. Cons: Room had a strong, unpleasant odor so we opened the window to relieve the smell. Hallway smelled of urine. Outdated.

    « Great value »

Booked this hotel after reading good reviews and really agree. Checking in and out very easy with pleasant staff. Room nice and very clean. Pool fine. Was right next to restaurant which was nice and reasonably priced. Easy walking distance to metro so able to get to sightseeing quickly. Free parking was also important to us.

    « Great location near D.C. »

Nice area, close to Metro station. Very comfortable stay would recommend it for everyone. Staff extremely helpful, we were early for check-in so they gave us a parking pass and we headed to Metro station for D.C. Great Restaurants within walking distance to Hotel.

« Great value in Rosslyn »

We were pleasantly surprised to find this Best Western in planning our trip to the DC area, as the general price level in the region is high for the most modest accommodations. The room was comfortable and reasonably spacious even with a king bed, and the bathroom was fine. Somehow they even manage to tuck in a swimming pool and exercise room! Underground parking made it easy to get the luggage in. Just across the courtyard is a modest restaurant for a quick breakfast or dinner, and coffee is always available in the lobby. The Metro is not far away. We probably won't be back in this area but if plans change we'd certainly stay here.

    4
« Great value, convienent and helpful staff.... »

Stayed there with two grand daughters for 4 nights. Staff couldn't have been more helpful! Yes, the facility is a bit dated and need a make-over (but so do I). Convenient to all touristy places by metro or taxi. There staff is a real standout!

    5
    « Concert Night »

I just wanted a place to stay in D.C. area that did not cost too much. I was pleasantly surprised at finding this room (with two sinks, refridge and microwave) close to a metro station .The staff, especially Juan, was very friendly and helpful in helping me find my way to the concert Thursday night and a museum the next day. I was allowed to park for a few hours in hotel parking lot even after I checked out.. Coffee not good, though. A restaurant was next door that serves meals and coffee.

    « We had a great stay »

We only stayed here one night, but we were very impressed both with the staff and the facilities. Our room was spacious with good access to the free WiFi and comfortable beds. Everything was clean and in good working order. The Subway station was nearby (although we could have done with directions) with easy access to the attractions in DC.

« Very good and comfortable stay »

Good for academic like us which reasonably priced and located conveniently close to Metro. There was no other options available at Washington at that price. could it offer some other facility like breakfast within the room rent would have been fine. Hope the management will consider this on priority for the customers of Best Western

« Cheap place to stay with decent amenities and a v good location »

If you can get a deal on this hotel, then I highly recommend this property. Q rooms have decent beds (double beds were not as nice -- I tried both), clean, OK internet (slow), relatively quiet despite being just off of Route 50, lots of water pressure in what looks like 1960s bathrooms, one very small workout room, plenty of free parking, and is next to a Ledo's that serves a very decent omelette and home fries at breakfast. Front desk was helpful. Perhaps the best feature of this property is that it's a short walk (like 9 min) from the Rosslyn Metro stop and restaurants / stores in Rosslyn.

    3
« Great price but needs a little TLC »

We had a rental car and so we had to find an alternative to an hotel in Washington itself as car parking was extortionate! This hotel offered free car parking and was an easy walk to Rosslyn metro station that provided 3 different metro options into Washington itself as well as the Pentagon and Arlington Cemetery. The rooms are a bit tired and could benefit from a freshen up but they were clean and comfortable so no complaints. There is an Italian restaurant and take away on site and we had one of the best pizzas ever from there - I would highly recommend it and not to expensive either. All staff friendly and helpful always smiled and spoke when passing which was really nice. I would stay here again without hesitation. The only thing I missed was a full sized bath to soak in after several exhausting days sightseeing!

    4
« Great location and service for the money »

Perfect place to stay for business or pleasure, close to Metro, nice staff, clean rooms, Lido Pizza right on the premises. One thing - WiFi is not uniform around the property, but that was the only minus.

    3
    « Great location »

This hotel was clean, very adequate, a little old but updated inside. The best part was how convenient the location is. A good restaurant on site; a quick walk to the Metro station; near some really good restaurants; near Iwo Jima monument and Arlington cemetery. The Metro ride into the Capital area is very quick. The other best part: the neighborhood is very upscale and I never felt scared to walk to the restaurants or Metro station. I suggest this hotel to anyone going to DC.

    3
« Ridulously Expensive for NOTHING »

Go somewhere else! Anywhere else. You would be just as comfortable on a pallet in the streets or a bench In the park. The location is questionable. The beds are pathetic. The parking garage is scary. The lighting is terrible. The rates are through the roof and back again. Don't even question yourself! Go somewhere else.

    3
« A descent place for a Washington DC visit »

The place is good for an overnight stay. There is nothing fancy about the place but the room condition was good. Food can be ordered from outside even at late nights. I stayed there for a Washington DC visit and there are so many places to visit nearby which gives value to the stay.

    4
    « Inexpensive utilitarian hotel »

I have stayed many times at the Best Western, while visiting my son at Georgetown University. What is best about this hotel is the free parking, inexpensive prices, and the excellent diner across the parking light. The rooms look tired, but are clean. They do have a pool, which is dark, but adequate to do some laps. It is very close to M street and Georgetown, which is a plus. It is so difficult to park in DC, and to have no fee for parking is a big advantage. The staff at the front desk have always been friendly and helpul.

    5
« Best Western close to DC »

There rooms are the 80s but so are the prices compared to other choices. Washington DC if fabulous and well worth commuting with the masses...We enjoyed it all very much. All of the Smithsonian venues are excellent and did all the tours we could including a moonlight tour of the monuments. Most impressive. The WWII monument alone is worth going to see. Thanks to all those who make the Smithsonian a world class destination!

    2
    « Bellow my expectations »

In room Internet didn't work and so the technical support was unreachable by phone. No plates for using the microwave, poor design. Reception service very indifferent and helpless. The price per night is unjustified in those conditions . Good location.

« Be Prepared for School Kids »

We were on the same floor as a school group. Very noisy, moth in the morning and evening. Of course this was the only time we were in our room. Staff didn't seem to care and never offered to relocate us.

    5
« Good location, fair price, excellent service »

We were in Washington for a funeral at Arlington National Cemetery. The hotel is clean, affordable and convenient not only to the cemetery but also to dining in Rosslyn. The hotel staff was excellent, the room was clean and comfortable and surprisingly quiet given its proximity to Arlington Blvd.

    2
    « No-Frills, Dated Infrastructure. »

Pro: Free parking, close to Metro, major highways, and close proximity to D.C., comfortable beds, hot coffee, & easy wireless internet access. Cons: Aging infrastructure and no-frill approach, e.g., no elevator access to second floor courtyard rooms, no shower caps, no breakfast, no extra blankets, noisy in-room refrigerators and HVAC units, low water pressure in shower that had antiquated fixtures, and broken amenities such as treadmill, ice machine, and soda machines.

    4
    « hidden gem »

not a great, fancy place. However, location for DC is awesome, bus stops there, 3-5 minute walk to the metrorail. price is reasonable for DC. Parking is available and free. front desk very helpful. we had an electric scooter delivered and picked-up for our use while in DC. No questions or concerns - like it was a service of the hotel. computer and printer right there in the lobby for use anytime. coffee all day in lobby. Sure, there are not many amenities, although there is an outdoor pool we didn't have time for. rooms were nice, clean (being updated) and had small fridge and microwave.

    4
    « Hotel Stay »

Don't let the outside fool you. The rooms are completely renovated and are very nice looking inside. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. There is a restaurant on site with happy hour from 4pm to 7pm. I would definitely stay again.

    3
    « Fair / Average with reasons: »

Let's begin with the good: Staff is friendly, room was very clean, location is awesome in proximity to DC, PARKING IS FREE, and WIFI was awesome! Now the not so good. There is a hotel side and motel side, I booked a motel room but thought I had hotel room, I'm not a motel stayer. Room was very dated (but remember it was very clean). The facility is old and has signs of age. I did not have the sense of comfort that I normally had because I was in the motel side. Not my favorite by any chance but it was clean!

« Worse customer service is not possible »

Spoke with the hotel manager Dwight Duncan and Corporate Best Western Customers Service Manager. Both organizations are completely unhelpful in resolving a very simple and reasonable request. Pointing figures at each other is the only thing they know how to do. Don't ever choose this hotel.

    5
    « Highly Recommended »

I cannot fault this Hotel. All Good. Highly recommended. Staff were friendly. Many available facilities. Reasonably close to Metro and grocery stores. Has laundry facilities which you do not see in Australia Hotels/Motels.

    2
    « Could be a nice place »

Hotel is in much need of repair and updating. Staff is nice and it is a good location to visit Washington DC and Arlington Cemetery. The hotel has a low noise level and comfortable beds. There is only 1 washer and dryer for guest to use. Would be helpful for have at least 3 washers and dryers.

    5
« Nice and comfortable, but awkward to find »

I had a nice stay at this hotel, with a comfortable bed and decent-enough Wifi. The restaurant has a good Lasagna and there was free parking, something that's a premium in Washington DC. The only problem I had was finding the place; it says it's on Arlington Avenue but the actual name of the street in front of it is Fairfax. That may just be a quirk of the DC area, but it was concerning.

    « Could be a great place »

This BW has comfortable beds, friendly staff, and good locationfor walking to the subway. The hotel does need a lot of maintance work and updating. TV has poor reception, room lighting could be better, and there was only 1 washer and dryer in the hotel for guest to use. We did have a problem with the fridge but the hotel did bring a new one in. We stayed a full week. There seem to be people/companies coming in to give bids for remodel and updating, Which would really help to make the a GREAT place.

    5
    « No complaints whatsoever »

I was a bit concerned staying here after reading some of the reviews but I have to stay that we had a great three night stay. The rooms were lovely, friendly staff, ideal location for visiting DC. In walking distance of Metro, Iwo Jima monument and Arlington cemetery. It was our first time to visit DC and we really enjoyed seeing all the attractions. However DC is no party town so it was great to return to Rosslyn every night to enjoy the local bars and restaurants ( Ireland's Four Courts bar was within walking distance of the hotel) The restaurant on site was good for breakfast and dinner (great pizza). All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to explore Washington DC, without breaking the bank.
