Best Western Annapolis

Th room was clean, the bathroom was spotless. The bed was very comfortable and pillows fluffy. The 1st morning breakfast was disappointing. The young lady attending wasn't very attentive but the second morning a man named Josiah was working. The dining room was spotless, everything was constantly refilled the food was delicious and hot. He was very friendly and you could see he took pride in his work. I asked if he was the kitchen manager and he said no but I think he should be. Thanks Josiah for a wonderful start to our day and hope to see you on our next trip here.

Comfortable Stay would be willing to do it again. I wish there was a weekly discount if you stayed for a week. Other than that I really have no complaints with the service. Check in and check out were good.

Absolutely no problems. Stayed two nights, room was clean, desk clerk was very nice, great location, no issues at all. The main town of Annapolis was a 5 minute drive but we were in the area to visit family in the county and it was easy access to local highways. This is our go-to hotel for future stays!

We have never stayed at a worse hotel. I almost always stay at Best Western hotels but this stay was a mistake. There were roaches in the first room. Front office staff agreed to move us to another building that supposedly didn't have this problem. That room had a malfunctioning heater. The sheets on one of the beds were sour smelling and on the second night it also had roaches. After that discovery we immediately left. We were able to get out of our extended reservation. Will never stay at that hotel again.

Very nice accommodations and a great value. Friendly staff and they are wonderful at answering questions and concerns. Breakfast was tasty as well. The rooms are pleasant and the services offered were nice.

A five-star review is necessary for the staff, who were very friendly and helpful. I will return again, as long as there is room, because if this place gets too many compliments then it will likely booked to the maximum in the future.

Clean, spacious well-stocked rooms with comfortable bed and additional amenities. Friendly and attentive staff. Safe and convenient location. Excellent continental breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel!

Just an old out dated BW. Patched walls, old paint, fixtures, doors and baseboards. Fairly quiet. Close to shopping. Breakfast simple and good. Friendly staff. Did not use the pool. The grounds were clean. This place seems to be a favorite for construction crews

I stayed at Best Western Annapolis because of work. It was an enjoyable stay breakfast, gym abs pool were great. The rooms were average. The only two things were that the toilet was clog and the iron did not worked.

The only positive attribute of this hotel is that the rooms are clean. It is a motel on the edge of Annapolis that is very outdated and overpriced! Breakfast was just okay! An Uber or a car is needed to go anywhere. There is nothing within walking distance! Other than for an one night stay I would find alternative lodging!

Excellent breakfast, good wifi, convenient location. Overall, a good value. Will definitely stay here again for my next business trip to Annapolis. The fitness center is average - but at least they have one!

Our stays at Best Western has been a great fit for us. The rooms are clean, stocked and the staff is kind and has meeted our expections. To our benefit the lobby is relaxing and has a 24/hr coffee station too.

We needed to pick up our new boat but live in NY so we needed a place to stay overnight. Left home at 5:45pm and arrived at the hotel around 11:20pm. Front desk attendant was very pleasant and helpful and offered to allow us to stay an hour past checkout since we arrived so late. Made sure we were aware of what time breakfast was and even said we could take it back to our room is we wished. We are Best Western members and will always stay in one of their facilities as long as there is one local to where we are staying.

Overall it was a good stay. Checkin was quick,the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a variety of hot and cold foods; much better than we expected. The rooms were not carpeted, they had what appeared to be laminated flooring. The good, much cleaner than other hotels with carpeting. My white Sox stayed white. The not so good, we knew we had upstairs neighbors. It wasn't too noisy, but if we stayed there again, I would request an upper floor room. I would rate this motel higher if: - The room had better blackout curtains, and - The shower had better pressure. It was strange . . . Pressure dropped as cooler water was selected. Plenty of pressure when extremely hot and it then dropped as more comfortable temperature was selected.

We only stayed one night and it sufficed for what we needed but it was highway robbery that we paid $165 more per night because of it being induction day at the naval academy. It was completely ridiculous to pay $265 per night for a very mediocre hotel with a very mediocre breakfast just because it was close to the academy.

Best hotel I ever experienced. Every body is friendly and you feel welcomed. Room was nice and very clean. Breakfast very good, many choices, never went out of anything, good quality I'll book it again

Very friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast. Clean rooms and easy access to all points around Annapolis, Chesapeake Bay, and DC A quick drive to new Carrollton train station to get into DC. We really enjoyed our stay.

Room was clean, personnel very polite and helpful just need an ice machine on second floor instead oh having to walk way down to first floor. Overall hotel is worth the money. I've stay at different BW up and down eastern seaboard and always was satisfied

It was a quick stay for us. Cared most about room quality. Rooms were in good shape. Reasonably clean. Had everything we needed. Biggest con was paper thin walls, absolutely no sound proofing. Check in and out, very efficient. Did not use any other amenities. There was plenty of parking on premises. Decent budget option.

Would stay again , make sure your hair drier and fans in bathroom work. Overall I would stay here again the location is very good and there are plenty of restaurants and bars around it is close to the highway so you do hear the traffic from Route 50

The room had bugs in it and both mornings we were there the power went out by using one hair dryer. No other items were plugged in. We had to wait for power for half an hour and we were late to an even for my daughter at USNA. I have tried reaching out to the manager for MONTHS and get no response. They don't care to make things right, DONT STAY HERE!!

The hotel sign was was a little hard to find after dark but the hotel itself was extremely clean and updated. Breakfast had lots of choices and the food was good. The staff I spoke with were extremely friendly and helpful. I'd stay there again.

Stayed here due to coming down to see the Stagg Bowl (Division III football championship) and to visit the Naval Academy. Room was excellent, very clean and comfy. Free breakfast was very good as well. Toilet sat a little low but that was the only issue. Front desk was very accommodating. Would easily stay here again.

On the outside, it doesn't look like much, but this is one of the more affordable places to stay near downtown Annapolis. The rooms are very clean and up to date, the internet is fast, the lobby is clean and modern, and they offer a free hot breakfast. When I'm traveling on business, I like that I can pull up right to the door instead of walking through long lobbies and taking elevators to get to my room. The parking areas around the rooms have bright lights. The staff here is friendly and helpful. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, breads, fruit, muffins, and juices. This place isn't luxury, but you if want a clean, safe, affordable place to stay without the frills, this is the place to go.

This was our second time staying here. I feel safe at this location, the breakfast & coffee is great, I use the gym equipment, & the price is right. I have another weekend booked here in the future. Online check in & out is convenient too.

Internet was horrible even after I reported the problem twice. Faulty drain stopper in sink. Very noisy due to close proximity to freeway. Workers unloaded their gear in a room several doors down from us around 12:30 AM and were conversing loudly with one another until about 1:00 AM. After telling them nicely to keep it down, they continued to speak and work loudly.

I really appreciated my stay at this Best Western! The staff was very amicable, and the continental breakfast was delicious. The stay was nice, and I can't express how appreciative I am for the staff at this location!

I arrived after midnight and after driving around the area other hotels didn't have as many lights on and felt more comfortable given the hour checking into this hotel even though it was exterior I was able to park right by door and with all the lights in the parking lot i can grab my stuff and the room is there. You don't have to walk around a dark parking lot around the building to get to a door to then walk down a hallway to get to your room. So this was 10 times more convenient and felts more safe this way! Breakfast in the morning was truly more than any other brand I've stayed at. The pancake bar and build our own yogurt parfait where the toppings double as either for your pancakes or for your yogurt. They had turkey sausage so I was able to truly get a FULL breakfast that easily would have paid over $12 for at a local place and it was included with my stay. Staff was great and all had smiles on their faces. If you're a light sleeper or you want to sleep in bring your own ear plugs the highway does get a little noisy around 7am. But is still overall not that loud and will still return and recommend!

This hotel is fine. It was clean, breakfast was what you'd expect, but do NOT stay in a room on the first floor. Between midnight and 2am, we kept being woken up by the guests above us, who may have been doing nothing more than walking around, but it sounded like they were stomping back and forth and repeatedly rolling a chair. The lack of carpeting may be to blame, but we could also hear the toilet flushing as loudly as if it were in our own room. I lived in cheap apartment like this in my 20's, I don't care to repeat the experience when I'm on vacation.

The BW Annapolis is underrated. I called ahead to inform the desk that Ioule be arriving late. The staff could not have been more helpful. Check in was quick and easy. My room was spacious and clean. I am not a fan of the vinyl floors, but I understand why. The refrigerator was a nice touch. Road noise from the adjacent highway was to be expected, but still an annoyance. Well lighted parking lot.

Every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations. The location is convenient. We will definitely stay again and recommend it to family and friends. We were not on location very much time, as we were visiting with family, but we were pleased with the comfortable room and a nice breakfast.

Best price & accommadation in Annapolis for families . I have wife And two babies. Very quite . Has a small forest And pool clean room . Guests were kind people. Breakfast delicios eggs omlets meatballs

Not great. Noisy, smelly, over priced. Fine for a last option. The first photo shown is not the hotel- not sure what it is, but this is an old motel with new coat of paint. Directly next to a busy highway. Lots of noise and light shown through the door jam.

Business trip. I am the sound engineer for the Dinner Under the Stars event on Saturdays in the Summer and Fall. I also run sound for the 1st Sunday Arts Festival. Stumbled across this hotel looking for a place to stay. The rate was reasonable. And the hotel room was very clean. Only problem I had was that they raised the rate significantly for the Labor Day Holiday.

The service and break were bad. I do not recommend this hotel to others. The power cable of the ironer was broken. It's dangerous for people to use it. When asking the receptionist for the replacement, the young lady said no because there was no maintenance people on site. Breadfast was bad too.

Fabulous service, pet friendly, great value, front desk service was great. Quiet and relaxing. Pool was small but very clean. Air conditioning worked great. Beds were comfortable. Refrigerators provided and maintained a cold temperature. Can't say enough good things. Great value.

We will definitely stay here again! The breakfast was great, hot food, eggs, bacon, sausage, & pancakes. Coffee available all day. The gym was small, but had the cardio equipment I use. The water in the gym was awesome for refilling my Nalgene. Easily accessible from the highway. There's plenty of restaurants & a grocery store within walking distance, & an easy drive to DTA. We were very satisfied.

Although the facility is dated, the services were consistent with much newer facilities. The staff was efficient and accommodating: Quickly provided my needs for an early check-in, and delayed check-out.

The check in staff was not friendly , over charged me and insisted I had reserved a room to accommodate a pet that I never reserved . My guess is to charge more as my original reservation had doubled since arriving . The room was not clean , the air didn't work and this hotel should not. “Best Western” is NOT like the past or the way it should be ! Embarrassing low quality ! For this , we should have stayed at a motel 6 or a Hilton for this price ! This hotel cheats you!

Stopped here after Annapolis pride and made the right choice. The hotel was very cost friendly. The rooms were clean. The staff was friendly. Breakfast in the morning was complementary with my stay. There were many options and the food was pretty decent for hotel breakfast. I would highly recommend staying here.

Noisy paper thin walls, people up past midnight talking loudly. The room above was dancing til past 1pm. In the morning multiple puddles of vomit on the sidewalk outside my door. I really regretted saving a little money and not staying at a nicer place. Breakfast was acceptable, coffee was actually good for a motel. Staff was friendly, check in and check out was easy. Won't stay there again.

I have frequented Best Western Annapolis very often in the past year or so. I have generally found this hotel to be very friendly, hospital, clean and very much able to satisfy my needs. In fact I have become on a first name basis with some of the staff members and thoroughly enjoy my time there.

The room was very nice and clean. The person that checked us in was very nice. There were no elevators. We had to use the stairs. The entrance to the room was on the outside. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again if I was passing through for a night.

Checked in around 11:30pm, 7yr screaming at 2am from ROACHES in bathroom, housekeeping comes in at 9am with NO MASK and goes in to spray bathroom only, GM updates desk via text he's no longer coming in at 11am and absolutely noooo response to this all from GM directly even after putting in a report on the phone with guest services and being told he would reach out by the end of the day. The location was great and the room design was lovely. The dirty paper gold cup under the chair and air vent was disturbing to find after my son yelled I dropped my grapes and went I went to clean it I found the cups, disturbing. Housekeeping also had no mask on, none of them. The maintenance guy did have his though.

I stayed here August, 2021 and found a bed bug crawling across one of the beds. When reported to front desk the staff member did not seem surprised nor did he jump start any actions to rectify the situation. Stay at your own risk!

Very nice hotel. Nothing fancy but the rooms were clean, comfortable, quiet and affordable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My wife and I stayed here for a date night and we're already planning our next trip in September. We do date night every Saturday and now once a month we are going to do an away from home date night and this will most likely be our hotel of choice.

the hotel was a cheaply renovated motel. i didnt feel safe due to clientele hanging around. my room smelt like an old smoking room that was suppose to be non smoking. there were marajuianna buts on the stairs, and the police frequent the place

Annapolis tends to have very busy weekends. BW was a good value and hand space relatively late. The room is clean and comfortable. There's considerable highway noise outside, but the room was very quiet. As with many hotels during Covid, this hotel went to a bag breakfast. It was OK as far as it went, but I"m looking forward to real breakfasts coming back. The property doesn't look like much from the outside, but the area was clean and the rooms were very nice.

This is a typical Best Western. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and efficient. The breakfast was still in covid-19 mode which means everything bagged and wrapped and you would be quite right to pass on it and grab a breakfast in many good spots around Annapolis.

we stayed in BW just for an overnight stay to attend a graduation at USNA. the hotel doesn't have a very fancy appearance, but the cleanliness of the room and very professional staff makes it perfect!

Joe at the front desk put me at ease when I asked about their pet policy. We were traveling with two dogs. Their facility in the back had a grassy area to walk the dogs and even included waste bags in the rear.

I was scheduled for surgery and needed overnight accommodation for a ground floor room with direct access to parking lot. Hardly any places have this configuration these days so we were thrilled with BW's layout. My husband was able to easily help me inside while I was still under sedation. The room was super clean, bed comfortable and we were totally satisfied. In addition the price was very reasonable. Our only complaint is not of their making-you can hear the highway noise. But that was a very small negative in what was otherwise a great stay.

Hotel is at a good spot for access to restaurants and shopping. The rooms were clean with all needed amenities. Overall the decor and appearance seemed of the 80's or 90's at best. Staff was very welcoming!

This was a quick overnight stay but was impressed that they gave out PPE (disposable mask, gloves, and disinfectant wipes) at check in. Much appreciated. The room was clean, check in was efficient, and I was granted late check out. The location of this hotel is very close to many restaurants and a Whole Foods less than 5 miles away.

The staff in this hotel are not only professional and polite, they really truly care about their visitors. They consistently go above and beyond, treating me with compassion, integrity, and kindness. I've never had someone at a hotel treat me that way, they are to be commended and if I could give them 10 stars it still wouldn't be enough. On top of that, the rooms are super clean and the beds are very comfy. I won't stay anywhere else in Annapolis - ever.

We booked last minute on way to OC. Arrived to see it didn't look very appealing, thought we made a mistake. Well, went to check in. The checkin was smooth and pleasant. Went to our room which has the “outdoor entrances” (no hallway). Well it HAS EVERYTHING!!!! Huge comfy mattresses, beautiful flooring, microwave, refrigerator, updated everything, coffee maker, double bed night lamps, office secretary area, chair w ottoman, huge mirrors including full length one, USB plugs, Iron, Hairdryer, huge flat screen TV, white bedspreads. Just EVERYTHING I like in a hotel! I definitely recommend and would stay here again!

Nice hotel (maybe alittle older hotel), but room was neat and clean. No problems. We guess due to Covid19 the breakfast has been done away with, but thought the Grab n Go breakfast bag was alittle skimpy. Everyone staff was nice, friendly & helpful.

Clean, quiet, delightful!!!!! The staff made us feel comfortable and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hotel is within a 10 minute drive to the City Dock. The only thing missing was July 4th fireworks.

To be completely honest when we first pulled up I was unsure of the hotel. I walked in and asked to see a room. I was welcomed by Joe at the front desk and let me just say he is amazing. To my surprise the rooms have been remodeled and they are beautiful. The rooms are small but they have been put together so well. The room was very clean and I love the fact there is not any carpet. The only suggesgtion I have is to put a mat in the tub to prevent someone from slipping. (There was not one). Joe was wonderful, he is all about customer service and will go above and beyond to make sure the guest are taken care of. We will definintely come back to visit when we are in the area. Thanks Joe!

Convenient to main roads. Breakfast was very good. Nothing fancy but rooms were clean, plenty of parking. No elevators so make sure that is not a problem. A good value for the price. Personnel were friendly and efficient.

This Best Western has doors that open to exterior walkways. No issues with me. The Check-in clerk, Joe, was very professional and accommodating. I asked for late check-out (12:00) and that was granted without hassle. The room was comfortable with sitting chair and ottoman along with rolling desk chair. Micro, mini-fridge, large screen TV and VERY comfy bed. Highly recommended for visits in the Annapolis area.

The breakfast selection was good, the staff was friendly, and the renovations make the hotel look cleaner and more professional. We had a few (possible) mold spots on our shower curtain, had very noisy guests beside and above us (one of which was yelling for someone to call the police), had a small line/ crack in our TV screen, the door wouldn't stay shut if it wasn't locked well, and they gave us two lotions instead of a shampoo. However, overall for the price of the stay, it wasn't bad!

The staff was very friendly, the rooms, lobby and breakfast area was very clean. The outside of the hotel is older looking but rooms are updated. Walls are thin so you could hear other peoples showers or someone walking above you but it served its purpose and at a great rate.

We stayed for one night and the room was great. Very clean, updated, comfy beds and nice bedding. We Will definitely stay here again. Check in was quick and painless and everyone was friendly. Couldn't ask for more!

I wish I saw the other post about the roach problem here before I booked it. I was using my free voucher that I received for staying 2 nights at a previous best western. We were in the room for 10 minutes put the light la on and sat down. I turned around and saw cockroaches crawling on the night stands. We grabbed our bags and left immediately. The front desk woman is very pleasant and courteous but I would not stay here. Totally grossed out. They couldn't give me my voucher back but said they may give me points back. Not sure I even want to stay at a best western again. Will need to thoroughly research before ever doing that again. Totally ruined our night but that was too gross to shake off.

Holiday stays can either be a nightmare or a pleasure. This hotel provided the same services over the Holiday that they provide everyday and exceed my personal expectations and made Thanksgiving a happy day.

The hotel was separated in to 2 buildings. The main building was obviously nicer and quieter but the other building was not terrible either. I stayed in the back building closer to the highway. It was noisy but not terrible. The room was small but kept nicely and was surprisingly clean. My only issues were that the door was not completely sealed and I imagine let in the cold, noise, and bugs because I had 3 insects, what looked like stink bugs, find their way in to my room during my stay. Breakfast had a good variety each morning and most everything tasted really good. The oatmeal was unfortunately either too watery or too dry but still edible. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows were lumpy and could have been better, Other than that, I was pleased with this stay. Especially for the budget.

This place is great. If you're ever around the area, this is the go to hotel. Excellent room cleanliness and front desk support. I couldn't have been happier with my reservation from start to finish. Thank you again Best Western Annapolis

I have stayed at 2 other hotels in Annapolis. One had a noisy fan on heating system that kept me awake at $140.00. Management knew about it and sold me the room anyway. It was dirty and food smeared across the floor. The next hotel, the roof leaked and by the next morning there was a half inch of water on the floor. Shame on the hotel industry for compromising guest comfort for the dollar. My stay at the Best Western in Annapolis was the best money spent.

BW has probably done their best with this property but it should be torn down. It was clean, but you can tell its an old property. Rooms are noisy and HVAC is old. Lip stick on a pig. We would not stay again unless it was the only place available.

Nice location, easy to navigate Annapolis from the BW with lots of restaurants and shopping close by. Good breakfast selections, friendly staff who actually act like they like care about your comfort. No carpets make for more noise in downstairs rooms but the beds were comfortable. The 2 double beds room was a little crowded but it was all that was available.

Outside isn't appealing inside clean but no carpet on second floor and you hear every foot step and it went on all night. Breakfast was good and area clean. No elevators if you want 2nd floor. Front deck was quick and easy for check in. No carpet on room floor but room was very clean, bed comfortable.

When I first pulled up, I was pleased. The hotel was off the main road, and the location was good. The front desk staff was very gracious and welcoming. I was on the first floor of the main building, not far from the office. You access the rooms from the outside, like a motel. That was OK. I was given a password to log into the wifi. That wasn't needed since the computer eventually found the wifi and did it automatically....but it really didn't. Continually it said I was connected but there was no internet. I walked a couple doors down to the office to see if they could help and magically I was connected. I was told "maybe it's a busy time and everyone is using it." That's not ok and a poor excuse. I went back to my room only to continue having internet problems. I connected a couple times only to be booted off or timed out. I gave up and wasn't happy. While this was going on I realized that clearly no padding was placed on the flooring above. Every time the person above me walked, there was loud squeaking. I am fortuneate in that I believe there was only one person in the room and they went to bed around the time I did, otherwise it would have been a long night. Clearly that cost saving attempt should be fixed. I bet they just put the lamlinate flooring right on top of the concrete floor, hence the squeaking. The room and the bed were both comfortable. The breakfast was nice and varied. I could have been happy, but for the internet and loud noise from the squeaking floors. So rather than giving this place a glowing review, I have to say, if you hope to have internet and a peaceful sleep, you should consider another place.

Everything was ok about this Best Western on Riva Road in Annapolis except the WIFI. The ad for here says they have it but it didn't work the 3 days we were there. I was very disappointed because I wanted to send my kids some pictures and talk with them but I couldn't. I don't think they should advertise something they cannot deliver!

I woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom. As I sat on the toilet, I turned on the light. About 10-15 roaches scurried around on the bathroom floor. It was just awful. Thank goodness I was "sitting" or I probably would have hurt myself. Needless to say I could sleep the rest of the night. As soon as my companion woke we left the property. It was a Saturday so I understand that the manager was not onsite, but I asked that they call me. It is Thursday today and still no call.

This hotel was somewhat dated. The staff at the front desk were very accommodating and helpful. We attended a Navy Football game and this was a great location, to and from the Naval Academy and stadium. Everything was in working order in the room and clean. The exterior of the property appeared to have been recently painted and was clean. It is just an older property. I wish they would have offered more "fitness-friendly" breakfast options. Used the fitness room. It was small, but clean.

Front desk staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Likewise, Housekeeping came early and finished quickly and all had smiles and friendly "Good Morning". For visiting Annapolis, it is convenient and an excellent value.

Stayed for one night as we were spending the weekend in the area. It was a great location with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The room had a very cosy bed, a hairdryer, nice clean sink area and clean shower. The door to the shower room needed a bit of a push to close all the way since it seemed to be too big for the frame (we stayed in 212) but it closed and locked with some force. My only constructive feedback would be to check out what is causing a very slight mold smell in the room. (At least the room I stayed in had a slight mold/mildew smell). The room had a TV with lots of channels and the WiFi password was provided to us at check-in. Internet speed was very good. Personal care supplies were provided in the room such as shampoo, conditioner, body soap bar and facial soap bar. There was lotion too I think. Room had A/C and heating and functioned well. There was just a little bit of noise from the road outside but that's expected due to the popular location of the hotel. Breakfast at Best Western is always awesome with lots of options and a very comfortable/homely seating area. They had the weather report on the TV. I very much enjoyed my stay at Best Western and I usually look to see if there is a best western near wherever I am travelling, as it is my preferred hotel. It is affordable and comfortable and I feel comfortable knowing what to expect.

I travel frequently to Annapolis, and I've stayed at the Best Western on Riva Road for an average of 8 nights each trip since early 2018. This motel is a GEM. It's not only affordable, but the everything from the friendly, highly competent, accommodating staff, to their dedication to its maintenance, to the daily breakfast, is truly superb. I rarely post reviews of anything online, but I have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending this place. You will not be disappointed if you stay at the Riva Road BEST WESTERN in Annapolis, Maryland. TODD BLODGETT

Had to make a last minute reservation to attend a Symposium in the Annapolis area. The Best Western came up as the only viable option. I was a little skeptical at first but those doubts faded away as soon as I walked in to the lobby. A pleasant welcoming clerk met me with a warm smile and zipped through the check in procedure. My room was very clean and well laid out. I had a quiet night and was able to get back on the road early the next morning with hot coffee and a good breakfast.

Loved our room. Very clean, which is a MUST for me. Bed and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast was great. The staff was very nice as well. My family and I really enjoyed our stay here and we highly recommend this hotel.

Every time I travel on I-95 I stay at the Best Western because they are pet friendly. The Best Western in Annapolis was the most expensive and is definitely by far the worst Best Western I have ever stayed at. We were placed at the very back of the property which required us to get in our vehicle and drive to the front of the property to get coffee and breakfast prior to checking out. The grass area for pets was not well kept. The guests on the second floor we're noisy and when I called I had to use my cell phone because the room phone did not work. The Wi-Fi I also was also inconsistent. When I was checking out I tried to express my concerns regarding the pet area and the ate night noise and it didn't seem to me like the woman checking me out was at all interested in anything I was telling her. I will never stay at this particular Best Western again.

The rooms were immaculate and recently updated. The employees were all personable and helpful. This hotel is only a 13 min uber ride from the wharf and a short distance from USNA. We will likely stay here again.

Very nice place. Great Staff! The room was very nice and clean. The breakfast was wonderful and the location is perfect. I would go back anytime just to get away. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and plan on going back soon.

Very clean. Breakfast was better than I thought it would be. This BW was a little bit of good surprise. There was a strip mall with restaurants, shops and a supermarket within in a walking distance. It was very convenient as it was right of the highway.

I was greeted by Aarju and another lovely young lady upon arrival and they were very warm and friendly. Check in is at 3 and we arrived at 4, but due to an event in the area they had been booked solid the night before and were running a little behind in getting all of the rooms ready. It wasn't a problem as we had our lunch with us and they invited us to use the breakfast area while we waited. By the time we finished our meal our room was ready. I got a great rate on the room and joined the rewards program so I will be receiving a gift card toward my next stay, and I will be back. We weren't going to be spending a lot of time in the room so I didn't see the need for a more expensive property on this trip so this is how we ended up here in the first place. The rooms are recently remodeled. The floors are faux wood tiles which I really like, as I always wonder about hotel carpets... The room has a fridge and microwave which is nice. Everything was very clean and in good repair. The bed was SUPER comfy! The kind front desk ladies gave us an extra hour for checkout and even at noon I wanted to crawl back under the covers as it was chilly and rainy out. The breakfast was plentiful and filling. They have a good assortment including hot oatmeal, a variety of fresh fruit and yogurt, cereals, fresh hot pancakes, eggs, meats, pastries and bagels as well as a good variety of beverages and all day coffee. I can't think of a single complaint except for the inconsiderate woman beating on the door next to ours. That certainly wasn't the hotels's fault and I finally reminded her that other people are actually trying to rest. Be good neighbors, people! Checkout was a breeze and the entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend the Best Western Annapolis for anyone travelling in the area in need of a comfy bed and the basic creature comforts. Happy Travels!

For the area, it's a pretty cheap price, but you get what you pay for. Kind of cheap looking rooms, one drawer in the dresser was obviously not the correct one or fit, and made the room look trashy. The Internet and TV worked fine, the plumbing was fine, the bed was reasonably comfortable. THERE ARE NO ELEVATORS! If you are on the second floor, you carry your stuff up a flight of stairs. Kind of an old fashioned motel vs. hotel, just generally okay. The breakfast was edible, but not at all great, the scrambled eggs tasted very prepackaged, as did the entire fare. Not the worst place in the world, but if I ever have to go to Annapolis again, I will not stay at this hotel.

The bed was firm (more so than I prefer but that's just personal preference) and was very clean. The room was nice and quiet with a rather modern set of furnishings so you can tell that they do take care to keep the rooms up so a reasonable standard. The room was clean and the hotel was quiet. Didn't have a chance to use the pool as we got in too late, but you could tell by looking at it that the pool is well maintained and the patio furniture looks new-ish and comfortable. No hard plastic here, they actually have some cushioning. The pool lift system to help mobility impaired folks get in and out is a really nice feature that I wish more hotels would employ. The real treasure was the breakfast. It's not too common to find protein at a hotel breakfast. You're often lucky to find cold cereal, microwavable oatmeal and more bread than you can shake a stick at. This...had scrambled eggs, sausage and ham. It had the cereal and the oatmeal sure...but plenty options for toppings to go with it. And the real nice bit about breakfast was the pancake machine. Put your plate under the exit of the machine and press the button. In less than a minute you have two pancakes that are as tasty as you might make yourself if you had the time. There are other hotels in the area that are less per night, but when you factor feeding a family of four at a restaurant, this is still the better value. Highly recommended.

Lightning fast check-in and they upgraded my room from a 1 queen bed to a 1 king bed for no charge! After a long day that was a nice surprise. Good breakfast (I had danish, coffee, and cereal). Spotless, comfortable room with a strong a/c unit, quiet area, free coffee, free wifi. I used the little soap and conditioner in the shower and it was a good quality product; smelled like coconut oil and didn't irritate my skin. No complaints at all. I would stay here again and I would recommend this BW to anyone!

All staff professional, pleasant, helpful. Room was small but clean. Traffic noise at night and some guests loud both early and late but not troublesome enough to report. Breakfast quite sufficient but eating area very small for number of guests/rooms.

My husband and i couldn't wait for our one night away together . With his work schedule going away for any weekend time during the summer is literally impossible . I took at least a week to make a decision , but decided to stay here because the beds looked amazing and because they had a pool ....we were soooooo excited ! But that soon turned to disappointment when we get there to find out that they had a problem with the pool and now it wouldn't be ready for our visit. That really was a huge disappointment:(. Other than that, our room was clean, the beds were wonderful. The young Indian woman at the front desk was very friendly , as were the breakfast kitchen staff. Over all I think this is a wonderful place to stay, but a discount should have been given because of the pool.

Hotel location is easy to find, not far from motor way. The facility is well kept, neat inside and outside. The Hotel staff are friendly, always ready to help. Free Breakfast added value to my stay here and will recommend it for anyone doing business or leisure in the area.

Toilet lid had feces on it so I had to clean the toilet and the AC was broke. Unfortunately I got back to the room at 1am and it was too late to try to change rooms. When I checked out I showed the receptionist the pics and all she could say was Sorry. Didn't offer anything due to the horrible experience!

The rooms have been newly renovated and are really nice! Very clean room and bathroom. My only complaint was that it seemed a bit expensive for what it was. It is basically a motel with outdoor corridors, which proved to be a bit loud when people were leaving in the morning. A better price point would have made me happier!

Obviously location is primary for this visit but the facilities were also good. Recently upgraded rooms made the stay more enjoyable. Good nights rest and basic breakfast enabled us to enjoy our stay in the Annapolis area. Would recommend.

Tend to stay away from outdoor entry for rooms due to potential for security issues, but this hotel is in a nicer area of town. King room was a recipient of a complete reno, assume the whole hotel is newly renovated. Breakfast staff was most awesome...very polite. And front desk at check in was the same. For your situational awareness if allowing Expedia to use maps to get you to hotel, the address is wrong and takes you just to the main road...you have to drive behind the glass building and around back by Red Roof Inn. Was got me there. We typically stay right downtown, but opted for a bed, free breakfast for a cheap price and BW hit a home run. Only negative was not very insulated from sound so listened to traffic all night, a noisy neighbor, and tweeting birds started at 0230.

great hotel with breakfast, updated rooms, clean, in the heart of the city and priced modestly! the free breakfast had a large variety of foods and juices and healthy options. location is great, price is great and the updated rooms were even better. this will be my go to hotel when staying in annapolis or solomons island

The Best Western off of Riva Road in Annapolis is a hidden Gem. A newly renovated property. The bed was amazing. One of the best night's sleep I had in a long time. The staff amazing. Breakfast was a 10!!!!

Friendly and attentive staff. Room was very clean and up to date. Beds and pillows were comfy. Could hear the neighbor coughing a bit through the wall, but other then that, our stay was wonderful. Excellent place for the price

I was coming home from a trip and had to pass through Annapolis. Being tired I didn't have the energy to go the extra distance to DC so I booked a room at the Best Western since the rate was really good. When I called the hotel to inquire about early check in the young lady (Lanie) was very pleasant , telling me that there was indeed availability for a room if I arrived and she would be happy to check me in a room upon my arrival. When I arrived at the hotel I learned that I had a queen bed but I wanted a king. Lanie explained that because I booked with a third party I received the low rate and it was for a queen. I certainly understood that being that I work in the hospitality industry so I then asked how much it would be to upgrade to a king because I wanted to stretch out and be comfortable as I was not traveling alone. After checking the inventory and seeing the apparent tired expression on my face , Lanie graciously upgraded me to a king room at no extra charge because business was slow. Though it may seem like a small thing to some, I was extremely grateful for Lanie's compassion. The room was spacious , well appointed with the necessary amenities and clean. Kudos to Lanie for going a step above to ensure that her guest's were happy and comfortable.

I have stayed at this Best Western many times over the years and usually it is good for the price offered. I checked in Sunday 2/10 and Monday morning while showering I noticed red splatter on the shower wall and curtain. Maybe someone cut themselves shaving. On the way out Monday, I stopped by the front desk and asked them to please clean my shower and described what I saw. Dried blood on anything is quite gross. Tuesday morning, everything was still the same. Housekeeping came in and put fresh towels in there but no cleaning. I know they did not clean because the two strands of hair from Monday morning in the shower (not my hair) was still there. I know that sometimes housekeeping can miss things and I can forgive that, but when I specifically point out something and ask it to be cleaned, I do expect it to happen. When I stopped by the front desk on Tuesday morning to explain my disappointment, the front desk said there was nothing they could do because I am not a rewards member. Since there are so many similar priced hotels in Annapolis, I will not be back and will be recommend this hotel to others.

Total new renovations. Park at your door. Fine breakfast. Can you believe $65? Even the lobby is fresh and pleasant. Check-in was very good and accommodating. Heating unit was very noisy. I will stay here again!

I didn't expect this. I didn't even want to stay here, but I definitely will return. This hotel is behind another hotel, which is behind a business. It looks old from the outside. I thought it would be run down on the inside. I was so surprised to find that the rooms were so CLEAN. Everything. The floors, the beds, the walls, the air, the bathrooms, the sinks, the lamps, everything. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was nice but by day 2, the pancake maker no longer worked. I was very pleased with my experience with this hotel.

There is noise outside the room, but when we checked, there is nobody, not sure where the noise come from. Room is small but it is clean. The stuff is friendly. Internet is very slow, have problem to connect. Breakfast is ok. Great location, near couple shopping malls.

Clean comfortable room with friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location within walking distance of restaurants & shopping. Although the address is listed as 2520 Riva Rd. the location is actually on a long cul-de-sac which has several hotels; none are directly visible from the road. Worse is shrubs that obscure the street number sign; the entrance looks a bit like a driveway serving a bank building. Hearne Rd. is directly opposite the entrance and the dominant landmark is a Chuck E Cheese across from the entrance. A word of caution -- the bathroom tub surface is very slippery (no friction dots) so taking a shower can be an acrobatic adventure even with the grab bars. The included breakfast is not very exciting, but it is free.

I been staying here for about 10 years. This year they upgraded the place. It about time. December the price is lower than May or June. I travel this route 3 time every year. I can only stay here in the fall and winter. Otherwise the price is to high.

Best kept secret in Annapolis, rooms are straightforward, beds are great. Very clean, good breakfast. Comparable with hotels costing twice as much or more. Staff is very friendly and helpful, will absolutely stay here again in the future.

A good, bargain-priced hotel. Not fancy or a place you'd want to hang around much, but good for traveling through. Only a couple minutes from downtown Annapolis and right next to Route 50/I-97 for those traveling to DC or Baltimore.

After paying in advance yet being denied a room upon arrival at the DoubleTree last spring (see my review April 2018) decided to try the Best Western located across their parking lot. Our experience with the BW staff was everything DoubleTree was not. Our room was ready on time, the staff cordial and efficient and a very nice breakfast was included! The room had recently been updated and was clean, crisp and compact. My only wish would be for a bit more soundproofing in the ceiling as we could hear our upstairs neighbors moving around at night. With family in town we have stayed at many hotels in the Riva Road area and, for the price, this is the best deal going. Will return.

the room was very clean and fresh, the staff was very nice and helpful. the breakfast was hot and they kept it clean the entire time it was open. Always kept the food filled. It was easy on and off the interstate and in walking distance to shopping area. Very close downtown Annapolis.

We rented a block of rooms to attend a Navy game for the weekend. The rooms were dingy and outdated. Our plastic ceiling light was filled with dead bugs. But the WORST part was a group of partiers that took up a couple rooms in between ours. They were out on the balcony smoking weed and yelling ALL night. We called the front desk to complain and the manager assured us he would take care of it, but he did not. Will never stay here again. This is at best a $50 per night room.

Everything was great. From check in to check out. Staff was always helpful. Very polite and ready to help. The amenities are great from being able to wash your laundry to WiFi free breakfast staff very knowledgeable about everything eager to help right away . Thank you

This is cheap motel with a good bed and with a hotel's pricing. If the price were lowered to reflect the rooms, it wouldn't be bad. It is clean, the bed is comfortable, and the wifi works. The stairs to the second floor are not covered - when we were leaving it was raining and I slipped down the stairs. If you can get a room for under $100, it would be okay, but for any more than that you are being ripped off.

We usually stay in the historic district, but this weekend it was booked solid, due to something at the Naval Academy, so I took a chance on this Best Western. What a pleasant surprise too. The rooms were decorated nicely, a simulated wood floor which is s lot cleaner than carpet, granite countertops, nice toiletries, iron, big screen TV. The nicest BW I've ever stayed in. Oh, almost forgot breakfast, well stocked buffet, fluffy scrambled eggs ( unlike the cardboard eggs at even expensive breakfast buffets), very nice. And the staff was gr8, efficient and helpful.

We stayed here for one night. We will never stay here again. I can deal with renovations. Not a problem. I can't deal with them issuing a key to our room to some midshipmen at 1045 at night while my children are sleeping. Thank God we had the chain on the door(which broke after they tried to get in). Now my kids can't sleep, because every noise is freaking them out. My husband called the front desk and they assured him that the manager would be in at 8am. 9am, we go to breakfast. Surprise! No manager. We finish breakfast, go back to our room to get ready to leave and our key didn't work. Back to the office, and they said, "we thought you were checking out". We never said we were checking out. There's 4 of us. I asked for an extra blanket, they only had a sheet. I asked for extra shampoo, she didn't want to give me more than 1. When wiping water off the floor, the towel turned brown. This place is bad. Still waiting for a manager to call us. I assume they'll respond with, "thank you for letting us know of your experience. We'll use this to train our staff better." There seems to be a lot of those responses. Maybe, just maybe, you should train your staff right the first time. We wont ever stay here again.

This was a nice clean place to stay. It was very convenient and I would definitely stay there again. We were in Annapolis for a family reunion. This hotel was the best value in the area!!! We enjoyed the very clean pool, and would definitely stay there again!!!

Nice hotel. Hard to find, not able to see from the road. Clean, nice breakfast, Comfortable bed. I like to take a bath and they have nice tubs as well. It is less than a mile from restaurants, shopping, businesses etc.

All the rooms were recently renovated for the most part... you could tell they didn't replace the toilets. The bed was quite comfortable, although the air conditioner seemed to really work at getting the room cool enough.The breakfast seemed to be lacking, but edible. I'll definitely stay at Best Westerns in the future, but I'm not sure about this particular one.

We were given a room with a connecting door to the adjacent room. Hence, the was no noise insulation. That night we treated to what can only be described as being on the set of a pornographic movie. When I requested to change rooms the following day and was informed all of the rooms had connecting doors. The next night we were treated to a keg party until we demanded a change of room at 0100. The room we were given did not have a connecting door so the reception had lied to us previously. This was truly the worst hotel experience I have ever had.

Arrived at the hotel in 90 degree heat at about 2pm. Politely asked if our room was ready even though we knew we were an hour early. The young female receptionist said no immediately without even asking our name!! We returned at 3pm and after giving our details the same receptionist said that our room was still not ready. We were just about to voice our complaint when an older lady who we took to be the manager came over and apolgised and said our room was in fact ready. We checked in and were looking forward to a dip in the pool when we were advised that due to renovation the pool area would be closed for the two days we were booked in for. Having booked this hotel some nine months prior it would have been common courtesy for them to advise us of this as we would definitely have cancelled and re-booked elsewhere. Around 6pm that night my husband went to use the gym only to be told that was also closed for renovation. The only positive for this hotel was the convenience of walking across the road to a mall which had several good restaurants. Best Western used to be our number one choice of the chain hotels unfortunately this one let us down badly.

Hello fellow travelers I'm staying at The Best Western Annapolis. They are remodeling but the rooms are all done and so is the twice the size dining area where they serve free hot breakfast from 6am-10am. I took pics of the room. They now have hardwood floors which are nice but I would be careful with children with wet feet from the pool. The pool is clean and they provide separate towels. Check in was fast and I got a rate of $92 for the night. The staff is pleasant and the location is actually in a good area by lots of shopping and 12 minutes from the docks in Annapolis. I will stay again. We stayed in a king smoking room.

Really good experience and felt we got a good value for the price. Nice room and pleasant service throughout. They hit a home run with their breakfast provisions, not only because of the variety, but mostly because their breakfast nook staff went out of their way to serve us with food items even though they were minutes away from closing up at 10 AM. Most places would've declined offering additional food items at that time -- but they went out of their way to make additional scrambled eggs. Really nice, impressive and speaks well of its management and hiring/hospitality standards. Only glitch was a poor, extra stuck door to get into the rooms which should've been taken care of before our midnight arrival.

First, after many hours of driving I went online and booked through Booking.com for $92.00. It says that they accept cash and pay at site. When we got there, after waiting over 1/2 hour to check in because there was a cycle team checking in and everyone was concerned about them, the woman checked is in and said it was $161.32?? Bookings quoted $92, she said she couldn't do anything about it, then when I handed her $200 she requested ANOTHER $100 cash (I don't deal with credit cards) deposit, no where did anything say anything about a cash deposit. I paid it and asked for a receipt for it, she said no, they don't provide one for deposits and that my money will be under the cash draw. We went to the room, it was in the corner and the light was blown out so we couldn't even see the room number. The room had no carpet, there was dirt on the floors and the bathroom/vanity area was dirty. When we layed on the bed something didn't feel right, I looked under the bed and the springs were hanging down and the whole middle was sunk in almost touching the floor. When we checked out in the AM, Scott which looked like he just crawled from under a rock, dirty clothes, no uniform or name tag, and was very nasty. When we told him about the bed he replied "Oh yeah, we know about that, we have brand new bedding that needs to be set up". Then why would you give us that room, he just schrugged his shoulders, we grabbed our deposit and was going to grab a bite to eat that they offered but people were putting their fingers through the food, sneezing and coughing on it, it was disgusting.

No additional charge. --- Cable satellite television, with HBO® --- In room movies, Pay-per-view movies --- AM/FM alarm clock --- Dataports available --- Hairdryer --- Outdoor pool outdoor seasonal pool available from Memorial Day to Labor Day --- Laundry facilities The hotel was under renovation that was NOT revealed upon booking. The pool and the laundry room were not working. They had a sign in the lobby about the pool but none about the laundry and no one said anything about it. We didn't find out there was no laundry until the night before we were leaving for the next leg of our trip. So NO clean clothes! We booked this hotel because they had a safe in each room. We travel with a lot of computer equipment and needed to be able to lock it up. This ended up being an ADA room. It was a queen size bed but there was only one nightstand so the person on one side of the bed had no table at all. We had to use a suitcase instead. There was no chair for the desk. Had to call and request one. No microwave even though almost every photo on their site shows one. We called to request one, never got it. The bathroom had a pedestal type sink with no counters at all and no other counter space in the room other than the desk. Not even anywhere to put your toothbrush. Had to use a drawer in the dresser for our bathroom things. The mattress was so bowed in the middle that we couldn't stay on our own sides of the bed. They also do not clean the rooms every day. If you want your room cleaned you have to request it. The access to the hotel is also very awkward. You have to drive into a parking lot with several businesses and go to the far side of the lot. The hotel is in the back side of the lot. No direct entrance to the hotel. Very weird! The only hotel stay we've had that was worse than this one is a Motel 6 that didn't clean the room before we got there and refused to give us clean sheets to change our own bed. This one was a second runner up.

Stayed a night last week and really enjoyed the hotel. We stayed in the back of the complex which from reading other reviews sounds like the better option due to noise complaints. We didn't hear anything in our room. The room was nice. Comfortable beds and hardwood floor which you don't usually see in hotels. Much better than the normal carpet you generally have. The wood floor came in handy because when we arrived one of the employees cleaning the other rooms was using our sink for water purposes to mop up the hallways so our door was open with a trail of water leading out the door. Not a problem as it was easily wiped away. The breakfast was a huge added bonus. Always great to wake up with a big meal. There was a lot of people coming from the red roof inn for breakfast which is right next door. Not sure if they are owned by the same person so they are allowed to go in for breakfast or if they just do it because it's not monitored. If it's not free for them you should really have to show a room key or something to limit the amount of people since there is not that much seating.

A dump. Right next to highway. Noise all night. Avoid at all costs. Under Reno. Trash and debris everywhere. Awful. Awful. The crappy breakfast doesn't makeup for the terrible night sleep I didn't get.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Friend was having surgery at Arundel Hospital so myself and a friend checked in after dropping them off. They are renovating but that didn't interfere with our stay. Management was super friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean. Hardwood floors looked great. This place was harder to find....behind an office building but once we found it we had no issues. Would definitely stay here again.

I paid about 70 dollars a night for an 7 day stay at this hotel. This was a decent value. The location was good for anything you need. Walking distance to eating places and grocery store. I would not pay much more for this hotel.

Perfect location and a good value for the money. It's even close enough to walk to the Annapolis Town shopping center. Due to renovations there was no fitness facility, so be sure to ask ahead , because I didn't find this out until I was there. Don't get a room with a door that connects rooms unless you need it, because you can hear the neighbors. The rooms are very clean and roomy. Comfortable beds and pillows. I'll probably stay again.

First I am a frequent business traveler who stays in 4 + star chains Hyatt / Marriott etc.. so I was a bit skeptical when we drove back to the hotel especially when there was a double tree right next door (had no idea) but our stay literally was for 1 night and our room time would be just to sleep and get up and go the next morning . and the room was just over $100 and anything else nearby was $200 to $400 a night The outside of hotel is average, typical motel style doors on the outside 2 levels. Upon check in I was greeted by a verrrry friendly staff great fast check in .. lobby was ok it was clean and average décor.. at this point we were like what do the rooms look like... well we went to our room up the outside steps and to our surprise the rooms were all new... new wood floors not dingy carpet.. all new bedding, furniture, paint etc.. shower / tub was new... we were quickly put at ease.. this is a perfect example don't judge a room by the outside.. were glad we didn't change hotels and gave it the night.. staff must be franchise owners as there were very helpful.. breakfast was good.. some of the same items that were offered in the Hyatt that we had stayed the night before in DC

Room was recently upgraded just lacking new mattress but was sufficient for short stay. Nice to have carpet removed and shower area remodeled. Clean Breakfast area was plentiful with a nice selection for every taste.

I stayed the night before for 5 hours and had to leave on an Emergency, I called to stay another night and the price moved up 20 dollars even after I checked out early. I didn't understand why they wouldn't offer the same rate, but all good. I stayed because of the location but the AC never seemed to work

One of the cheaper hotels in Annapolis, but rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, pillows great. Internet worked, TV worked, refrigerator worked. Location was near to family members that we were visiting, but the location was good for restaurants and other things.

This hotel was a great value; sure, it's not brand new, but everything worked, the room was very clean, and it is in a perfect location for accessing downtown Annapolis. Best of all, the service I received was exceptional. I accidentally left a pair of prescription glasses in my room when I checked out. The staff went out of their way to locate them and send them priority mail to me in California. I will definitely return to this property the next time my travels take me to the area!

we stayed there a few times.each time we noticed the place getting worse. breakfest is cold. the rooms are not cleaned properly. things are broken or not working. it used to be a good place to stay. not any more.

Happened to be in Annapolis for work, didn't need a luxury hotel, just one for the right price. That's what I got. Unfortunately, the hotel is outdated, in a bit of disrepair, and breakfast was average for a Best Western. On a positive note - Staff was very friendly! No elevator, and first floor opens up right to the parking lot. Probably will look for a different hotel when back in the Annapolis area.

I didn't even stay the night. I couldn't. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating but the hotel is a disaster. It needs to be demolished and rebuilt. The carpets are shredded, the rooms are very small, the doors to the room(which open right into the bed) have gaps, there is trash lying around, and the water is dark brown. I left and stayed at the Marriott on Riva Road, which was way, way nicer, rooms are enclosed, food is amazing, and you feel safe. Staff at BW said hotel is being renovated. It may improve the hotel, but I would just make a reservation at the Marriott Courtyard on Riva and be done.

I can't say avoid this place enough times or loud enough. I've attached photos and will just summarize the problems I had over a 3 night stay. - Non-smoking room that has clearly been smoked in for years. The smell is just embedded in the walls. - Refrigerator door opens into the floor. I had to push it to level it so I could open the door properly. - The toilet seat is the wrong size and shape for the toilet in the room. Just pathetic. - The ironing board was broken. Once I opened it, I couldn't get it closed. - There was brown water when I turned on the shower. - My wife was lying in bed watching TV and felt something crawling. We jumped up and saw that it was a BEDBUG! I immediately went to the front desk and asked for a new room. I ran down all of the problems I'd had and the staff moved me right away. In the 2nd room: - The cigarette smell was there too. - The linens had a whole bunch of holes in them. - There was brown water in this room too. Photos are attached for most of this stuff. Again, don't waste your money on this "hotel".

On first floor with door to outside. Men arguing out side my door both nights. No security. Noisy wall heater. Toilet kept self flushing. Burn hole in bed cover. Spider in bath room. No outlets near bed for electronic. One star for clean one star for nice staff

This is the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. The shower was dirty and had mold in it. One of the beds when you pulled the sheets down had wads of hair in it. The carpets were so dirty that my socks were dirty from walking on it. There were bugs crawling on the nightstand and other lodgers decided to smoke marijuana in the stairwell outside our door! The maid never came to clean our room! When I mentioned all of this when checking out the comment I received was "oh, that's not good!"

Last minute changes to travel plans enabled us to spend a couple days in Annapolis, so booked the Best Western online. Reasonable rate, allowed early check in. Room was dated but clean, comfortable and for the most part, quiet. It has outside access doors which were well insulated so no drafts and quiet except for the noisiest people talking outside your room. Ample parking. Breakfast was included and very typical BW offerings. It is tucked away behind office buildings and other hotels, the signs on the street aren't very large and it's easy to miss. I'd suggest getting a room close to the office as further down the building you get very close to the freeway and noise could be an issue.

Weekend away with the wife and stayed here for a night. Older hotel but well maintained. It's nothing fancy but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Convenient to downtown Annapolis and the surrounding area. breakfast was descent, again nothing fancy. Recommend.

I like this Best Western. Its exactly what you need for your quick stays in Annapolis. It is conveniently located as well. Not too far from downtown. Bed is comfy and parking isn't a pain. We like it here.

Annapolis is a fairly expensive town in which to spend the night. Most everything I found when I was researching prices is more than I prefer to pay when I'm just going to be sleeping, spending a few hours in a room, and cleaning up the next morning for the next leg of my trip. But I was looking at the Annapolis region recently for a two-night stay, as I had a function with friends in the Newark, Del., area and didn't want to travel on I-95 if I could help it. I knew Annapolis would work well as a base of operations -- check in Friday evening, drive across the Bay Bridge and up to Delaware on Saturday, then back to Annapolis for that night. I was happy to find the Best Western at a decent rate, and as a plus, they have exterior corridor rooms where you can park right outside your door. I made a reservation on the BW website and then called to ensure I could get a room where I could park right outside the door. It had been snowing when I arrived on Friday, but the parking lot and walks were in good shape. The lady who checked me in had taken my call to request a first-floor room and my request was accommodated. The room itself was small, but clean. Wi-fi was OK. Not a big variety of TV stations to choose from on the cable system. Shower water pressure was average. I found it interesting that the toiletries (soap and lotion for the sink; soap, shampoo and conditioner for the shower) were in wall-mounted dispensers rather than bottles, although a bar of soap was provided at the sink. I've seen this before but not very often. No microwave or refrigerator in the room but that's OK because I travel with a cooler and I was close to the lobby to use their microwave. Hot breakfast was served both days but I wish they had biscuits and gravy. I don't know about restaurants in the area; it was snowing Friday and I didn't want to get out so I went to the lobby and microwaved a sandwich I'd bought earlier in the day. I got something to eat on my way back to Annapolis from Delaware on Saturday so again, I didn't have a chance to check out what was in the area. There is some sort of shopping center across the street and the only store I remember being there is Home Depot. If you need a reasonably priced place to stay in Annapolis, I can recommend this Best Western.

Was initially assigned a room that clearly was not a bona fide non-smoking room. Whether it had been used as a smoking room, or was just so close to others as to carry the odor I cannot say. However, when I complained vociferously, they assured me the new room they assigned was truly in a non-smoking block. However, with no signs on the doors or in the rooms, I will never trust that they are truly NS rooms. New room was fine from that standpoint, but the beds were not up to par with other BW properties, and the room is a bit underwhelming in its amenities. Also, had to remove HVAC unit cover and adjust a metal screen to stop a loud clanging noise. Overall, the stay ended up o.k., especially for just a short overnight. However, this is definitely not one of my favorite BW properties, though it is very convenient for my purposes, so I am likely to continue using it. Just will be with eyes wide open.

Room was old and dingy. The refrigerator leaked and I was concerned about whether the water was toxic as I had dogs. The queen was really the size of a full.the breakfast buffet was nice. The location was good

Nice place for the value in the winter time. Close to places to eat ,. In the summer the prices are higher because your in Annapolis. The outside of the place needs to be updated a little. The staff are nice. It also the cheapest place to stay in Annapolis.

The room was so small you had to walk sideways to get to the bathroom. There was mold in the refrigerator as well as the tub. Would not stay there again. As we had little time when we checked in we did not see the issues until we returned late at night and we were too tired to call the desk. When they asked for our review I got a email from the hotel manager saying if I had issues I should have contacted the desk and if I had anything else to say to call him direct. No thank you.

The hotel was very nice. Rooms were clean and had one of the best hot breakfast of the others we've been at but due to its good location (it is right next to two major highways), it was very loud so bring ear plugs. We didn't realize it since we checked in at night and as you know back East, there are trees everywhere so hard to know where you are.

Basic hotel with friendly staff was very clean, convenient to Annapolis and great rate. Good value for the location as most others in that area were more expensive. Not a luxury, but had what I needed. Fitness room was adequate which was important to me. My room only lacked a refrigerator, which my son's room had. Not a big deal, but surprised it didn't have one. They should put microwaves in the rooms too. But for the money I'm not complaining, just suggesting. Clean and comfortable. I plan to stay there again in the future when visiting family.

B.W. has no consistency some are really nice and others, like this, are not. This is cheap, old, and outdated. Beds are little and not super comfortable. The first room the gave me was a smoking room. It was beuond horrible. I gave it 2 stars because I got what I paid for, it was generally clean and staff were nice enough.

Not very satisfied with quality of product for cost. Would not stay there again. Staff nice and polite. facilities not very nice. Rooms not real clean, work out area a real joke and disappointing and food quality not very good. Paying close to $200 per night you would expect a much higher quality than this. I travel and stay in hotels 50+ days per year, either for leisure or business. By far, one of the poorest hotels I have stayed in as an overall experience and value.

My wife, my daughter and I were in Annapolis for a wedding last weekend and we needed a cheap place to stay. That's exactly what the Best Western was. Nothing more, nothing less. On the plus side, the staff was friendly, available and helpful. The room was basic and in some areas in desperate need of repair or updating -- especially the bathroom -- but it was clean and everything worked the way it was supposed to and the location was good. I've stayed in better places. I've stayed in worse. For the money, this was everything we needed it to be. Though it wouldn't be my first choice, I'd stay here again as long as the price was right.

This hotel had very pleasant staff but the room & bathroom was not so good. Bathroom was outdated, not in good repair & had visible mold in the shower. Carpet in bedroom appeared new, bed not so comfortable but mattress appeared be be on the newer side. TV worked (always a plus) but furniture was obviously very worn.

Room needed a face lift it was just awful. Couldn't wait to leave lay out was uncomfortable. Very small room. Would never go back to that hotel. Everything felt damp. No hook on door in bathroom to hang your clothes.

For $170.99 we stayed in a double room in the annex building. One of the beds had a mattress that was sagging in the middle so badly that it formed an actual "crater"! Impossible to sleep on. This particular mattress should have been replaced a long time ago. I was told by the front desk that management knows that mattresses need replacing, they are just waiting to do all the mattresses at once. Unacceptable! The hotel has some nerve charging this amount of money for a bed that is worse than my son's dorm room mattress!

prices were grossly inflated for local event. Room had musty odor. Very, very loud neighbors and teenaged kids running around outside room late at night. No intervention from staff upon complaint. Horrible beds and pillows. Breakfast was cold with the exception of the pancakes which were dispensed from an automatic maker. Will never stay here again.

Stayed for one night during Annapolis Boat Show. Clean and quiet. Some slight visible wear but overall nice for the price. Paid $100 w/taxes via Expedia. Has a pool which looked dirty and full of leaves. (No worries, didn't want to swim). Staff was friendly and efficient. Free breakfast consisting of eggs (powdered?), warmed ham, sausage, pancakes, pastries, fruit, coffee. Convenient to historic Annapolis and US Naval Academy. Satisfied overall. Thx!

Staff is awesome. Friendly, professional, efficient and thorough. From check in to check out, they are always concerned about your stay. They know the area and can make recommendations for restaurants, points of interest and directions. I will always pick Best Western when we travel. So easy to book a room online or on the phone. Always located to major highways and roads. Easy to find.

Our stay at the Best Western, Annapolis, MD was an enjoyable experience. We were in town for a wedding and this was a good value for our needs. The room was clean and comfortable. The TV reception was a bit "snowy" for some channels which was disappointing considering it was cable TV. The continental breakfast appeared to be a typical arrangement but we had other breakfast plans and did not partake. The outdoor pool was not very clean and no one was using it. It was late September but the weather was still quite nice and the pool could have been used. The location is convenient to many amenities in the Annapolis area.

Nice Breakfast in the morning. Perhaps a guard there would have driven the people that arrived for reasons other than traveling. Once I requested a new room, because I knew I wasn't going to get my money back, since the prior people complaining didn't, The nice girl at the desk gave me a more secure building that required a card key to enter. I felt safe then. The next moring, the hotel Breakfast room was filled with lovely patrons, I suppose the ones I avoided were still in the shadows.

Rooms dated and small. Need Queen beds. Not enough outlets. TV had bad reception. Bathroom fan very loud. Location can easily be missed, needs better signage. Easy access to Freeway system and close to shopping and dining.

I was a little concerned about reviews I read when I booked this hotel but all we needed was a clean decent place to sleep after a night of meeting friends in downtown Annapolis. I was pleasantly surprised and we had a nice stay. Check in and out was a breeze. The staff was kind. The room was clean and simple. Also I got a great deal booking through BW website.

Oddly placed and obviously past it's prime this place is a great value - especially in a place like Annapolis. The young lady at the front desk was delightfully courteous and professional. And if you don't expect too much you'll likely be happy with this choice. No elevator so if you have knee issues be sure and get a downstairs room.

I stayed at this hotel because every other hotel in Annapolis was booked for the weekend. That this was the only one available explains why it was less than desirable. It is an old style hotel, two levels, with small, dark rooms. When I tried to get into my room, the key didn't work and I had to ask housekeeping to help. She couldn't get it to work either and when it finally turned green couldn't open the door. She had to push hard on it a few times to open it. As I was leaving to go to a wedding a few minutes later, I couldn't get out of the room! The room was relatively clean but the décor is very dated. The air conditioner cycled on and off all night keeping me from having a good sleep. I could hear people walking upstairs and outside. Definitely not sound proof. At 6 or so in the morning, the ice machine next to my room did a complete refill and the noise was amazing. I couldn't wait to check out and even skipped the free breakfast. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The list of issues with this property is long. The pros: free wi-fi, decent variety of foods at the free breakfast buffet, mini-fridge in the room. While I didn't expect luxury for the relatively low price we were paying (when compared to many other properties in Annapolis), I was expecting a clean property in good repair. I was sorely disappointed. Here is a partial list of the cons: * Musty smell in room, like moldy carpet and padding * Ripped and frayed carpet creating a trip hazard * Signs of an old electrical fire around an outlet * Old, noisy HVAC unit with cover that wouldn't stay on * Very low toilet (14" floor to rim - yes, I measured it). Standard height is at least 16". It's like the hotel got a deal on toilets designed to go in an elementary school. * Very shallow bathtub. It was installed on top of a pedestal to make it appear deeper, which is just plain strange. * During our 5-night stay, the room was never vacuumed, swept or mopped. * Thin walls and doors, so be prepared to be awoken with doors banging, conversations outside your door, TV in next room, etc.

Nice - Clean - Helpful Staff - the hotel was nice, simple. Rooms are accessed from the outside. not super fancy - but had all the basics. Has automatic soap, shampoo dispensers which i do not like. Coffee was not the best - - but free waters bottles provided when asked for at the front desk.

Trees on Riva Road are as old as the building and block the signage when headed westerly. Friendly staff but old and tired property. Rooms are small. Bath is very small. AC is noisy, pipes rattle, and thin walls and ceiling allow you to enjoy your neighbors' vacation as well as your own.

An old, outdated motel seriously in need of an upgrade. Walls thin. Didn't appreciate hearing our neighbors thumping around and showering at 4:30am. In a college town so it gets lots of use and abuse, but it should get some upgrades, especially in the bathroom. Carpets "felt" dirty and should be replaced. Staff was pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was okay. We stay at BW a lot, so this was a disappointment.

This Best Western is probably one of the older hotels in Annapolis. However, it had many little up-grades & conveniences that helped make our stay comfortable and pleasant. Its location between Route 301/50 and downtown Annapolis made it easy to get to our destinations in town. There is a shopping mall nearby which has all kinds of restaurants & stores which was helpful. The room came with a refrigerator and microwave which was included in the very reasonable cost of our stay.

Was disappointed to be placed in a room right next to the elevator so I could constantly hear the noise as it was used. Staying at this property frequently, and having made reservations well in advance of my stay, seemed like there was no excuse. They moved me immediately once I complained, and claimed they first put me in a room with a view of the courtyard. New one faced the parking lot, and had no upholstered chair. Also did not like how the darkening shades closed, as they left a gap they faced the bed so light shone directly on me while I was trying to sleep. Overall, though, for the single night's stay, with easily accessible pub fare for a light supper and a much-improved breakfast in the morning, and overall generally comfortable, it ended up o.k. Wasn't as happy with price as have been in the past, so value not quite as strong, but still seems to be best option in the area.

The Best Western was a nice hotel. It was clean and comfortable. It was a bit dated, however, the hotel is undergoing renovation. There is a free breakfast with typical hotel food. It is in a good location, right near the highway.

As you would expect for this chain. Standard accommodations and set up. Price was the best for the night. Appreciated that they were pet friendly also. There is alot to do in the area. Very close to the mall and many restaurants. Free breakfast a bonus!

The staff was very helpful fixing my reservation as i had made a major mistake with my check in dates. My room was clean, did smell a bit musty but you cannot expect too much from a room for the price you paid. I feel it was a great deal and the room was it was fair for the price!

This hotel is in the process of renovating some of its rooms. This is a good thing because the room we stayed in needed renewing. Overall, Best Western is a good value, and usually the facilities are well maintained. I would stay in a Best Western again because of the convenience and price, however, I hope that next time the plumbing and hair dryer and internet are working well.

convenient for touring the Annapolis area, shopping and restaurants very close by. Outdoor pool was exceptionally nice during our 2 day stay as the air temperature was 98 degrees every day. Looks like the outside areas of the hotel are being updated.Sidewalks patched, exterior painted.

The room reeked of animal, maybe cat urine and wet dog? The carpet was damp everywhere and wet in some places. The hallway smelled of stale cigarettes and almost made us gag. We were in a non-smoking room and did not have a pet. We should not have been subjected to this. The hotel location is good. The sheets and towels were clean.

The rooms above me entertained hookers after 1030 pm. On the 3rd call to complain, I asked to be moved to another room. That was 2 am. What type of establishment allows this behavior. Also, the rooms smelled of old smoke from a time gone by. the mattress was lumpy and pillows were hard. Worst night EVER

Stayed here 7/29. Front desk was very inefficient. Booked 2 Rooms because I was traveling with friends. I tried to pay for part of my rate with Best Western Rewards cards. Front desk clerk was lost. Finally, the smarter one helped her check me in a room nowhere near my friends on the same reservation. Hotel was far from full. Room smelled nasty but after awhile you didn't notice as much. Room seemed clean though. Housekeeping banged on the door at 9am. I love Annapolis, but this hotel is not good. Definitely better choices nearby.

A good motel of the sort. Room was adequate and the environment was quiet. Air conditioner worked very well (a necessity in a MD summer stay). The hotel's complementary breakfast was excellent. A wide choice of light or full breakfast. Since all Best Westerns are independently run, kudos to the management for their choices. Great coffee too. The location was very convenient (you cannot walk downtown, but it is only a few minutes drive and there is good parking in town.

July 20, 2017; stayed one night; King Bed, at $151.54 total. Our room was in the second building behind the main office. The exterior was well maintained and clean. The area is filled with corporate buildings. Adequate lighting in the parking lot provided a safe environment when we returned in the evening. Kids were swimming in the pool; it appeared to be clean and we'll maintained. The room was average; clean, no foreign odors; furnishings had minor blemishes. The AC fan shuts off with the compressor; no continuous run fan option. If you are a light sleeper the constant interruption of the fan & compressor noise may interfere with sleep. Outside noise was not noticeable. I agree with my fellow reviewers, the room has been painted many times over the years. I prefer clean paint over grime despite the thickness of the paint. The staff were pleasant, helpful and polite. The breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, ham, and sausage. Pancakes, oatmeal, bagels, yogurt, fresh fruit, and the usual beverages were available. Unfortunately the breakfast area was insufficient for the volume of guests.

The room was from the 1960's. The fixtures, the paint was excessively thick and everything needed updating. The Main Door was not secure as the door jamb was loose, we heard the neighbors through the adjoining door which had a latch bolt that was out of alignment. There were dead bugs on the window sill, a cracked toilet tank lid, stained and rusted bathroom fixtures. I could go on, but I think you get the idea. We were even showed another room, but the A/C unit didn't work.

$192.00 paid for one night in June. You had the impression the room was dirty, broken tile on the floor, old old everything in need of major repair, something really gross on the tub, noisy. The one positive was the folks at the front desk were great.

The rooms were basic and clean enough. The breakfast area lacks seating and we had to eat outside. The gym is very small. The pool was being cleaned both times we tried to use it, including the cleaning lady using COMET to scrub the sides of the pool WHILE WE WERE IN IT! Yikes! If you have young kids who look forward to swimming, do not count on using the pool here. Front desk staff were not understanding of the problem.

Rooms smell like it had been disinfected with Clorox I couldn't hardly breathe the door you could see light coming around the edges it was cheap alright I guess you get what you pay for I will rate this a D-

To be honest, we only slept and ate, but the price was much better than the hotel that our GPS sent us to instead of this one (address may be wrong on google maps). We hear people playing in the pool and it looked just fine. Best part was breakfast. Well stocked and there's an option to sit outside in nice weather. There was some sort of weird thing at check-in, however. Can only get the deal if we do it online, which I've heard before. But then a manager or someone behind the desk clerk, kept trying to tell the clerk to give us the pet room since that's what we booked for the deal....kinda as punishment. Problem is that our pet was 500 miles away and pet rooms have surcharges which would mean that was NOT what we booked for the deal. Some sort of attitude problem, but not sure why. The room we got was just fine. Non smoking, no frills, not expensive.

Overall my stay was pleasant. The staff was very respectful and they listened to my concern. I am disabled and I needed to be able to put my medication in the refrigerator. I didn't have one and advised the staff once I saw that I did not. In the morning I spoke to the manager and they adjusted my bill to reflex the inconvenience.

The room had an unpleasant odor and in the words of my 9 year old "this place doesn't smell good." Battery in the smoke detector needed to be changed as the device was beeping sporadically. Reported this at the front desk before going out to dinner, but had not been addressed upon our return. As a result, had to listen to it all night.

We made the reservations, per the internet price of $76, but actually with tax it was $100+. No rooms for $76. It was $86. Now the real kicker, because of the age, no sprinkler system. The real, real kicker - I awoke to several bites on the back of my neck. Since I have never had a problem with hotels and bugs, I did not realize it at first as a problem. I searched bed bug bites and sure enough, I had about 5 bites. This was on 7/12 when we left the hotel. I called the hotel to tell them last Friday and the manager was not there, but the clerk took my message. I have also called the corporate number and left a message with my phone number. I have not heard a thing from either the manager or corporate. From now on, I will be sure to check the bedding before I lay down.

New owners look like they are trying to freshen the place up. They should look at training there people more. I used to spend lots of nights there but the last time I called I was informed that they were booked that night and hung up on before I could ask for any other nights. So it's time to find another place to stay 100 plus nights a year.

The check-in and check-out staff were friendly and professional. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. Everything was clean and tidy. I had an excellent, trouble-free stay. The location was perfect---close to the mall and highway exits.

Absolutely horrible hotel, way to expensive for this crappy place! Very dirty, very noisy, breakfast was late. Door on room could not be opened easily. Maintenance would not fix the door. Very unfriendly staff.

If you're looking for a place near downtown historic Annapolis that is very clean then this is a good choice. It is a very basic accommodation and an older type room. Bed was great. Not too good was the cable TV reception, but we were not there to watch TV. Water pressure was great and hot water was not an issue. Room had a refridge and microwave. Wall air cond/heater unit was older and with that came "on and off" frequently which may be annoying when trying to sleep. Free breakfast was more than adequate. Various folks at the front desk were very nice and helpful. Pool area was clean of which we did go in one day. Room service was efficient.

The only good things about this place are: Price for area, safe neighborhood, location. Otherwise the place is tired. 1 or 2 nights you can deal with, nothing extended like our stay. The fixing up of this place is superficial and not quality. Nothing feels good or clean. Front desk staff has trouble checking you in, they don't understand english, housekeeping does a half assed job, grimy carpet in room

The outside appearance is not the high end look but the staff, the rooms, and the hospitality absolutely OUTSTANDING!!! It's worth the value and the location near the Naval Academy is excellent. Will come again!

Best Western was clean affordable and set far enough of main road that it was quiet .. no noise from passing traffic. Continental Breakfast is included - great way to start the day. Best to have your own transport as this is about a 12-14 Uber ride from the central townsite where a good lot of the action occurs. There are local shops and restaurant a short walk away.

We spent the weekend in Annapolis beside the city we enjoyed the courtesy of the staff and the clean and quiet room. Breakfast and parking are also great value for money, will come back for sure as soon as we ll visit again the charming Annapolis

The rooms are not very big but they are clean and tidy. We had a fridge with a small freezer and a microwave. The staff was very helpful and professional. They offer free wifi and a nice little breakfast. My wife and I were pleased with our short stay.

Unless you like dark brown water in the shower, floors that have plywood so loose they squeak and bounce up and down when you walk on them, and filthy rooms. There were outdoor room entrances in the building I was in. Even though the motel is in a nice area I felt unease staying there.

Amazing place, staff was attentive, clean, and great breakfast. Selection of breakfast items were plentiful and as someone who needs a jump start to my mornings, this hit the spot. I would certainly stay here again. Made my business stay a positive experience.

Had one of the best stays I've ever had at a hotel. Service was great and staff was super friendly. Everything was clean and neat. I have no complaints what so ever. I would deffinetly stay here again and I am sure i will because its very close to my family

Bad service, bedding smell of Marijuana. waited over an hour for new sheets. I had to physically go down to front desk and wait for new sheets. It was a horrible experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

We had two couples staying here for a wedding weekend. I accidentally booked a room that was a smoking room. It would have ruined our bridesmaids dresses with the smell. Even with the hotel fully booked, Deborah was able to work some magic and get us into a nonsmoking room! So wonderful!!!

In town for business and as a female traveler on a budget I wasn't sure what to expect from previous reviews. It turned out great. The hotel was pretty busy. The breakfast spread with eggs, bacon, pancakes (never seen a machine like that before - 1 min I have a pancake - pretty cool), coffee, etc. Service was good. Room was clean and bathroom was clean. We were in the exterior building, which actually was nicely maintained. Seems like they are doing renovation work which definitely is improving the hotel experience. One note, look for the Old Line Bank sign when turning into the hotel off of the main road, ts tucked back behind it. Overall good stay for business. Would stay again next time I have to come to town.

Really accommodating, super attentive, clean rooms and towels, front desk was nice. Breakfast was tasty- no complaints here. Had to visit family so I booked here last minute and I'll stay here next visit too

UPDATES: After complaining to their corporate office I received the following message; "Thank you for contacting the Customer Care Department for Best Western Hotels and Resorts. We have received a response from the hotel, in which they have advised us that they contacted you and apologized. If we can be of further service, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Sincerely, Lucidalva M." I never got the apology that James (the manager) advised corporate he extended--- but it wouldn't help. Its not even worth the time it'd take to complain about it...but at least its consistent with the shoddy customer service/establishment I've encountered thus far. Avoid at all costs, folks! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I threw a broken and unsmoked cigarette in the trash of my hotel room rather than litter in the parking lot. My mistake. They charged me $100 for smoking. Make sure you don't dispose of cigarettes (smoked or not) in the trash. I sincerely recommend you use the parking lot, because the maid will rifle through trash to find any justification for incidentals and trumped up cleaning charges whether warranted or not. Noted Issues at this Location: 1) When we tried to check-in well after our scheduled arrival the maid was right in the middle of putting pillowcases on the bed. 2) We then discovered that the television in the room did not work. The signal kept going out and their were lines across the display consistently. 3) The mini fridge was not operational. 4) The room's door did not close, you had to push it forcefully to get it to shut fully. 5) After we checked out we were charged without being contacted. I and my husband called this location many times between Tuesday and Friday of last week and could not access a manager though we were put on hold for more than a collective 2 hours by Anna/Susannah who works the front desk. 6) When we finally reached the manager James on Friday 4/28/2017 he promised to send me the evidence he had used to charge us though he made it clear that he had not ever viewed this "evidence" before he charged us b/c he had to get the pictures from the maid in question He failed to send that information, and I was forced to callback on May 1st, to speak with James again. He seemed to have no recollection that he'd promised to send me this information, though he did this finally supply me with this information after my second request. 7) James also had no clue of what cleaning outside of what is normally required had actually occurred in the room only what may have occurred. I and my credit card company still need evidence that additional cleaning occurred, but James made it clear that he was not going to provide this to me. 8) Now that we are disputing the charges we are hearing a completely different story about "foul" odors in the room instead of smoking which was the initial $100 charge they claimed- this is because their smoking gun pictures did not prove anything other than I threw away a damaged (BUT PRISTINE & UN-BURNED) cigarette in my room. 9) They also have ants.

Stayed 3 nights with my husband during a blues festival. The hotel is outdated and looks it. Check in was fast, but I didn't get any Best Western reward points (the front desk even printed my rewards card, but didn't link the reservation to my account). The rooms are very clean! I was impressed with housekeeping until they walked in our room without any warning. The first morning it happened I figured it was just a mistake, but the very next morning they did it again...my husband was in his underwear. Made me wonder how many more times they creep into rooms. Told the front desk at check out and was told, "oh." Breakfast had good choices, but the coffee was cold alk 3 mornings. Told the front desk and was told, "Yeah, it's been broken." They should have at least put a sign up. Won't be back, nor recommend, due to housekeepers barging in.

While the staff is friendly and tries to help, this place is a dump. Go next door or down the street. Saving $20 a night by staying here is not worth it. Carpet in the room was buckled. AC was noisy and didn't cool. Breakfast tasted weird.

Stayed here two years in a row as a VIP perc for the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival. Price (Festival Pricing) was about half of that of surrounding hotels. Since very little time was spent in the room it really did not matter too much. Free breakfast. Hated the soap/shampoo/lotion dispensers instead of small bottles of shampoo, etc and bar soap. Would not stay there if not for the Festival pricing.

This motel-store (exterior corridors) has little sound insulation. The nearby highway was noticeably noisy. Patrons in other rooms could be easily heard. The mattress was old. The room was small. There weren't enough parking spots near my room.

Old outdoor style motel. Old furniture. Old building. Old shower. Old breakfast. Recommend you spend the money and upgrade. You are paying for location, not a nice place. It was clean though. Needs renovation badly. No reason to not serve a decent breakfast.

Very good location with easy access to downtown Annapolis the Naval Academy and Annapolis, Harbor. Very good rates compared to many Annapolis motels and hotels. Nice rooms and clean facility with friendly staff. Free breakfast provides a nice variety of food. This is why we stay there year after year

Beds needs to be upgrade. Floor makes sound when you walk on it. More like a motel than a hotel. Hot breakfast items refill very slow and each refill only put a few pieces. I would not come back to this hotel. There's no indoor pool.

Stayed four nights to attend a wedding at the Naval Academy. Very nice front desk staff who got me into my room quickly. The room was very quiet despite several busy highways within 1/4 mile. Only 'issue' was the pillows were too soft for my taste which is why I bring my own.

Room was clean, staff was friendly. Other guest were disruptive. For price and cleanliness i would stay here again. Located near a shopping center with many places to eat or shop. Very close Naval Base.

We recently used our Best Western points to stay one night at the Best Western Annapolis while visiting our son at the USNA. This was our second stay in the last 3 years. The hotel is OK, breakfast was your typical Best Western breakfast. Our room was dated by clean and comfortable. I was upset upon leaving when the front desk clerk was unable to print me a receipt because I used a reward night. She didn't seem to understand that I didn't book the night on Expedia and insisted that I contact Expedia for my receipt. I have never used Expedia and booked my rewards night directly through the Best Western rewards 800 number. I wanted a receipt because she had told me the nighttime clerk had charged my credit card for a fee but she had reversed that charge. I wanted a printed receipt showing the credit back to my credit card. I wound up leaving without it because she just continued to give me the wrong information but upon arriving at home she had sent me an email with the receipt. Incompetent staff just annoy me, all I wanted was a printed receipt. Anyway, I would recommend the hotel for a quick stay in the area, it is a good place to lay your head at night.

The room was clearly in need of an upgrade. The wall paper was separating. The entrance door was catching the torn up carpet. Terrible shower. But the front desk attendant was very nice. Overall very unsatisfactory

Tucked away behind a bank, the hotel was a little hard to find. We were given a room at the far back of the far back building which put us right next to the freeway which was a little noisy. The room was clean, beds comfortable and everything worked. Staff was fair but English wasn't a well known language. Breakfast was skimpy. Most of the place was empty. Heard some guest from the front building complain of bugs but I took it with a grain of salt as they said there were bedbugs the size of a silver dollar running around the room all night and were demanding the clerk they should get their rent back in cash.

We stayed here for a weekend for my college reunion. The hotel was conveniently located on Riva Road right off of US-50/US-302/I-595 and was close to the satellite parking for the football stadium. The hotel has 3 buildings - 2 where the rooms have outdoor access and 1 where the rooms have indoor access. We stayed in the indoor-access building (the non-smoking building). The room was comfortable and the WiFi worked well. There was a free hot breakfast in the lobby - the kids got a kick out of the pancake printer. But the breakfast space was too small and some of the machines kept failing, particularly the coffee machine. The room was rather expensive for what we got but the reservation was made only a few weeks in advance and there were not a lot of choices available. The next time we go to Annapolis, I hope to reserve a room farther in advance so that I have more of a choice but would not mind staying here again if I had to.

The room Was too expensive and wasn't clean. For the price, the room wasn't fit at all. The bed sheets were dirty and the towels were also dirty. I expected best western to be a good hotel to stay but my experience was dissatisfying and I will not be staying at any best western again

Stayed there for two nights and enjoyed it. The room was clean and comfortable. Nice queen bed, a table, a chair, microwave, coffee maker. Free breakfast was not much to choose from but you can get tea or coffee, a bagel with cream cheese, cereal, yogurt and hardboiled eggs. Free! Really liked that you do not have to go through lobby to get outside. Your room door is the door to outside. I am a smoker but the room was non-smoking, so it is very convenient. Very quiet place, just the way I like it! For the price of 40 dollars Best Western was the Best.

The Annapolis BW Property has been a mainstay for my visits to Maryland. Its central proximity to Baltimore, Washington DC and Southern Maryland provides ready access via RT 50, RT 301 and I 97 to the larger urban centers, the Eastern Shore, Southern Maryland and Annapolis without all the congestion of a city. The hotel location provides a wide variety of dining and shopping venues within walking distance. Lastly but certainly not the least, all of the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They go that extra mile to make your stay the best experience they can provide and are the reason I always stay at this property when traveling to Maryland.

Although the location of this property is actually very good if you do not mind being outside of the downtown area, the hotel itself left much to be desired. The in-room wifi was extremely slow. The water in the shower could not be regulated. The phone in the room did not work (just went to fast busy whenever I tried to call the front desk). We were in a back building and the cleaning services made a horrible rucus pushing their carts past our room both night and day.

The hotel was okay. Our room was very hot and the a/c would only stay on for about 2 minutes at a time. Our shower had intermittent hot water, going from freezing to warm then hot. The breakfast was good, but definitely not enough dining room space, we ended up carrying our food to our room. The condition of the room was just meh, odd smell and just worn out. On the up side, it was very close to downtown Annapolis and had a whole shopping plaza and restaurants directly across the road.

I was very disappointed how this hotel has gone downhill since I first stayed here 3 1/2 years ago, The staff has changed, they seem to not care and the rooms need severe updating. We chose to visit the Naval Academy at the last minute and this and another motel were the only ones that had a vacancy. It is not worth the money paid, very overpriced! We chose to stay a BW BWI Airport North Inn & Suites the night before our flight home what a difference, it was like night and day. Next time we visit Annapolis we will go to another hotel.

wrong reservation, put us in smoking room, no king bed available, breakfast items missing, poor quality of room, keys did not work 2 seperate times, breakfast food was poor quality and the coffee and the pancakes were empty. Service personnel was mopping floor under our feet as we ate breakfast !

Some of the worst customer service ever! I've visited this location on several occasions for business travel and have often stayed at the BW, Annapolis. My most recent 2 visits I experienced the same, poorly trained, less than personable staff. Nothing like I used too, so I asked if there was a change in Management and the young girl replied yes. But I'm thinking this is also a change of Management. Rule 101 in the hotel business.....the person in front of you comes before the phones. The rooms even smell differently, sounds like they overturned the entire staff. Looking for a new place to stay when I'm in town.

When we checked in the service was fast and the room was clean and spacious. It was for a ten-day stay for a boat show and sailing lessons. It would be okay for a day or two but no longer. They did have a wonderful extended breakfast that was included in the price. The hotel is older and somewhat shabby. Maintenance is lacking on the property if our room is any example of most of the rooms. It was supposed to have a refrigerator and microwave but we did not get it until day 4 of the 10-night stay. Towels in our room were thin, very well used and grayish due to inadequate laundering. The bed was a spacious king and comfortable. Housekeeping was not well done during our stay. In fact, we left before 8 AM each day and were gone until 4 PM or later. Twice we returned to find the room not cleaned and no fresh towels. It usually took over 1/2 hour to get someone to clean the room and all they did was give us clean towels and make the bed. We keep the room neat and floor areas clear but it was not vacuumed or mopped during our entire stay. The water from the hot water faucets is SCALDING HOT! This would be very dangerous if you had young children. It promised an in-room safe but the key to ours was missing. The first night they said it would be taken care on the next day. That did not happen and then we were told "Monday"- a full 5 days later. It never did get fixed. For the price, it is not worth the money. We had an alarm clock in the room but it did not work so we asked for several wake-up calls. Most of the time they were up to 10 minutes late and one morning they did not even bother to call us. We awoke one hour late and were almost late for a sailing class. (And we would have missed the boat- literally.) We will not stay here again.

We didn't really expect luxury as the one we had in our other hotel but the difference was to big, a deluxe room turns out to be a disabled room , carpet in room had definately seen it's better days , room itself was as clean as you could get it .... if things are old and in need of replacement there is so much any housekeeper can do. Bathroom was okay although slippery in the shower area ... not really any place to store you toilettries ( we ended up taking the little sitting bench from the shower & squeezing it between sink & wall to put our toothpaste and such upon) Breakfast was a lead down, a lot of times refills were not happening , coffee maker was more out of service then in and according to what I overheard: seemed the maching had been acting up for quite some time ? Finally they prepped the perculator so we could have some coffee ..... Breakfast hours were also quite short , breakfast area quite small .... not always seating available ... We would say : yes stay over for a night as a passing through hotel but not for longer. The cleaning staff ( and also breakfast crew) did their best & were friendly, helpful .... it felt asif management didn't really care if f.ex . coffeemaker was down, it also stung a bit: our travel agent had mailed them prior to arrival to alert them of my bday and had asked for a little extra : the day itself: nothing .... I didn't expect much, a simple card from the hotel stating happy birthday would have been enough but this added to the feeling of management doesn't care much for their customers..... and last : airco was as frickle as it was loud .... it never really cooled the room ....

We stayed here for four nights. Sadly, we booked in advance. The traffic was loud. There was a guy sleeping on a bench outside the hotel. The microwave kept ticking until we unplugged it. The maid did not always throw out the trash, which had food in it. The "business services" consisted of a computer with a terrible printer. Breakfast was subpar. The hair dryer didn't work. We smelled smoke in the bathroom (we are nonsmokers). The hotel is in an awkward location, so our Uber drivers couldn't always locate it. That said, it is close to a nice shopping center. And, we aren't fans of communal soap, but that is just us. We do like to be eco-friendly, though.

We'll be back. We have family in Maryland to include Annapolis. :) Thank you for making our unfortunate situation a positive one. your staff - with the exception of a manager (female) was great! Thankyou so much!

I stayed here with a bus tour group August 13-14, 2016. My room was clean and the carpet looked clean. However, I found a stain on one bed sheet and pillowcase. There were no outlets by the bedside lamp, so charging my phone and tablet had to be done by the bathroom. There was also no fridge or microwave in the room.

This was our second stay at this hotel and we were extremely disappointed. This Best Western location is in bad need of upgrades. Toilet kept backing up even after 2 visits from hotel staff to remediate. Shower/bathtub took forever to drain. Wash basin drain made gurgling noises any time someone flushed the toilet or took a shower. Then we found cockroaches in the bathroom and in the room. We could also clearly hear the TV or folks enter/leave the next room and the one above us. Our TV had extremely poor reception/image. Unusable on many channels. Staff were very polite and helpful but they can't fix problems with the building. On the positive side, beds were comfortable. That's the only good thing we can say about our visit. We did receive compensation due to the many issues that we reported. As I said, staff were really nice and understanding but they couldn't fix these problems.

PROS: clean room, decor/furniture nice. CONS: soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensed in push-button containers on walls. The shampoo and conditioner were vile. The refrigerator looked like it has been broken for a while. The (outside) door did not seal. There was not good sound-proofing. This seems like more of a Rodeway Inn than a BW.

Room was okay but reeked of smoke. I called the front desk to complain as I did not want to be charged for any cleaning relating to the smell. No offer was made to change our room and, as we were only staying one night, I did not ask for a change. If I had allergies or was staying longer I would have asked for a change as the smell was really bad & hit you as soon as you opened the door.

This place is an updated version of the old motel model. All of the rooms in the first building have exterior/outside doors. There is an annex in front of the building. The main building does not have an elevator. Inconvenient for people who have lots of luggage to carry. On the day I arrived as well as the day I left, I got the sense that the front desk really didn't want to be there. Not a good first impression.

I was looking for a place to spend 3 nights , thank goodness I booked this hotel only for 1 night. The place is old, insecure, smells, poor breakfast. The hotel was empty and they put me in a room basically on the highway very noise. I complain they said they did not had another room. If you have good taste or little class do not stay there.

This is an old hotel with antiquated fixtures. The breakfast was quite good but the second morning the coffee machine was broken and no substitute was available.The room had a musty smell. The only available electric outlets required moving or crawling under a table except those next to the sink. Most good but old hotels get a desk lamp with outlets in the base for charging. The worst part came the second day when we return very late to find the room not made up and wet towels on the floor. Adding insult the price was inflated for a football game. We came for a funeral. Oh yes when my sister and mother requested a room change because of a broken AC, they tried to book them into the room I occupied.

room was spacious and clean. continental breakfast was good, however, very crowded. staff was friendly and polite. it doesn't have an elevator for buildings. mattress was too soft, and the bathroom was kind of small, but the price was excellent.

I had to request another room because of the original room location. The hotel staff changed my room without any problem. My hotel room was clean, the staff was very professional and helpful during my stay. I had to request an extended check-out time and the staff accommodated my request without hesitation. I will definitely return to this hotel and would recommend my family and friends.

Didn't realize this was 'motel' style when I booked, as in the doors open to the outside. Our room was ok, but the door didn't seal all the way and light could be seen around the door, which made the room warm and humid during most of our stay (unless we left the AC on full blast at 60 degrees). Twice we had issues with the lock on our door not responding to the key for several minutes, leaving us wondering if we'd be able to get back into our room. The room was clean and the bed was comfy, so it did have that going for it. Our room was facing the highway, and the noise was pretty loud - thankfully I had earplugs in my bag from the plane ride. The continental breakfast was pretty good, scrambled eggs, sausage/ham, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, pastries, pancake maker(that was pretty cool), juice, coffee, tea, yogurt and fresh fruit. Overall though, I wish I'd have spent another $10-$15/night for a much nicer hotel.

This hotel is horrible. It is very outdated. To start with, there is no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up concrete steps to your room, you have to park your car across the parking lot from the room, the room was musty and the carpet rumbled and you had to kick the bottom of the door to make it open because it stuck. The breakfast was inedible, to say the least; powdered eggs that were not prepared properly, watery, lumpy oatmeal, stale bread and rubbery pancakes. None of it was edible. We ended up going to McDonald's for breakfast. This hotel needs to be demolished and re-built, that's the only thing that would help the appearance. The staff was friendly, and that's the only good thing I can say about the stay at this hotel. Then, to top it all off with, when we got home we noticed we were charged for an extra night's stay and had to request a refund. The refund was promised but not received until we called the corporate office, which took 4 days to receive.

the first room we had smelled bad, and they quickly gave us another room. it was comfortable. the next day, we discovered that we had left a white iphone charger plugged in next to the white hair dryer. i called immediately, but was told that it was not in their lost and found. i called several more times, and was told the manager was not available. He never called back. i want them to reimburse me for the charger. He never called back. Overall just lousy customer service.

On the first two nights of our stay, everything was fine, on the third day we returned to our room late in the day and found the room had not been serviced, dirty towels, drink ware not replaced, one bed made the other one had not been made and it had not been vacumned. On top of that someone had handled my laptop and broken it. We waited for several hours the following day to meet with the franchise owner Mr. Patel who turned out to be very rude and condescending. He informed us that there are notices in the room that they are not responsible for items left in the room, there are no such notices, he further stated we should have put the laptop in the safe it would not have fit and then told us "well it is my word to yours and we will not do anything for you" (great customer service comment). This is an old hotel that has done little to update the facility, We do not recommend this facility to anyone

I have nothing good to say about this place. The room we stayed in smelled bad . The door handle broke and I had to call the desk to get out. They put us in the room next door it smelled better . Went to breakfast the next day and they didn't have the air conditioning on it was way to hot to eat there . They need to bulldoze the place and start over

Spent a very rainy weekend in Annapolis during May 2016. The weather impeded our movements & enjoyment. Had the pleasure of eating at Cantler's Seafood Restaurant. Also visited Sandy Point Park for some delightful entertainment, Hotel was easily accessible from Route 50.

Needed towels in the room when we arrived, Exhaust fan in bath did not work and the room was noisy from some form of equipment in the laundry room. Also asked to provide a $50 deposit for potential damage to the room upon my arrival. I refused but thought this was inappropriate.

We spent one evening at the hotel while traveling home. Obviously a busy weekend, as many hotels were filled and way overpriced, including this best western. It is old, dingy, the lock to the building we were staying in was broken and no elevators. For them to charge $164 during that time period was OUT OF SIGHT. I have stayed in rooms much better than that for $89 while traveling. The only positive thing I can say about the hotel is that the front desk person was very friendly and accommodating...letting us enter our room before arrival time. She is an asset to this best western...wish we had gotten her name!. We won't return.

Most of the front desk and staff do not care at all about you. You are non existent to them. The only bright spot was a front desk clerk named James. He went out of his way to assist me in all possible ways, I can only hope the rest of staff follows his lead.

I highly recommend this hotel considering the following benefits: Comfortable and spacious rooms. Nice bathtub. Good breakfast. Nice staff. Easy to get. Very close to Washington. Other ammenities: vending machines area and ATM.

Definitely not 2 stars, let alone 3!! We have stayed in 2 different Best Westerns (in different cities) in the last year. Both were very nice(some of the best from any hotel chain we have every stayed in--including 5 star): attractive exterior and interiors, clean, good service, etc. This one is in an entirely different category, and more like a budget hotel in all ways. We didn't expect a 5 star hotel, but this was very disappointing. Check in was a nightmare, and the rooms smelled musty, though ours was clean.

Room was adequate. Bfast was better than I expected. But $139??? Seriously??? Front desk staff went out of their way to help me. They were very pleasant, replaced the office chair and they upgraded my staff's room. I was very pleased with that.

It is rare in an older hotel, that you find such cleanliness and focus on detail. This hotel was also, financially, one of the best choices. I would gladly stay here again. I would also recommend this location to anyone who needs an easily accessible, clean, and comfortable place to stay in the area.

Stayed there in July 2016 for 2 days. Actually more a motel than hotel if you look at style and conditions, but it does well. Small gym available, the pool is ok to take off some heat but not for swimming. Breakfast is ok as well, you get scrambled eggs and ham, yoghurt and the usual stuff.

I stayed at this property on one other occasion and wasn't very impressed with the exterior and the fact that there was no elevator to access the second floor. This time, I noticed the exterior is welcoming. The room I had was next to the ice machine so I heard that all night. The vent in the bathroom was loud, the clock radio had one volume--loud-- The next morning, I watched a huge bug crawl out from under the sink's counter top. That's when I got out of there in a hurry. When I mentioned it to the front desk, she didn't seem to be upset about it. Think twice!

Nice staff, ok but crowded free breakfast. Ok standard of the rooms, but not what we consider a typically Best Western standard. More a classic motel style. Could need som refreshing, but with free parking and ok location; price was reasonable for high season.

Vent in bathroom was noisy - people above us were heavy footed and we heard it all. Room as OK but not worth the price. Breakfast was ok but the eating area was small - could have eaten outside but it was hot and humid.

We needed an affordable stay for one night while we did a quick tour of Annapolis. This hotel was clean and fresh, with free hot breakfast. The drive into the historic district was easy and took about 10-15 minutes. If you are looking for romance, get a B and B downtown, but if you need more space with your family, this is fine.

rooms were adequately priced..staff courteous..clean rooms. great parking..close to many shopping and great dining areas. this was our first visit to Annapolis, and although the weather was hot, we enjoyed it. This best western is adequately located to visit 10 must visit places in annapolis

Took my family to DC and booked with BW. family loved pool and the breakfast. Great services. I would recommend this place for anyone that has a family. One more thing very it very convenient to get to places from here .

Hotel is old and dated. WiFi was incredibly slow. Staff was very nice and helpful but the facility itself needs a MAJOR facelift. Beds not comfy and carpet worn in some spots and torn in others. Won't stay here again

We had to move into a whole different room after we found that there were Urine Stains on our bed... After moving into our new room... We saw a few bugs crawling around.... Smh... None of the house keeper's spoke english...horrible experience

excellent wee hotel ! friendly reception, rooms comfortable, breakfast adequate but busy - too small really, so go early ! we arrived quite late, after 8pm, and were grateful for coffee making facilities in the room.

I have stayed at this property 4 times in the last year or so. Each time my experience has been a little bit less satisfactory. The "Very Good" rating I'm giving it is based on all 4 visits, not the last one. Otherwise the rating would have been "Average". For this visit, I was in the building that is at the back of the property, close to the highway. The noise from the traffic, even though I was several rooms in from the end, was excessive all night long. Fortunately, the stay did not cost me out of pocket, as I was able to use reward points. Had I been paying the full quoted price for that night, I would have been extremely disappointed. Don't know what was going on in the area that made the room so expensive for that night, but it was more than double the price I had paid on the previous three visits. Not worth it at that price, especially in the building where I was put. Will probably compare other motels next time I stay in the area.

Stayed here to bring grand daughter to STEMS Navy program. Double room was in a detached building across parking lot. Well lit. Well maintained. Quiet night, comfortable. Outdoor pool and patio was well kept and nice. Septic on ground floor gave room unpleasant sewer smell if plug was out of the tub. A little more detail to bathroom by staff could be the only downfall of a greater rating. Breakfast was above normal and served until 10am. A plus. I'll stay here again for sure, but upgrade to a better ($) room, perhaps in the main building, they looked very nice. Mine was an econo through a booking site. Overall this place is nice. Hard to spot it, but right across from shopping, food and shops. Trees block the major sign but if you see the food spots, look across Riva road in the back. I overall recommend it.

I came here for my birthday weekend. The breakfast was actually better than I expected, which is great because I had kids with me and did not want to drive anyway for food in the morning. The staff is friendly. The pool is on the smaller but I don't mind. It had a lifeguard and was good for the kids to get outside. On a side note though - the doors are rather noisy. In the middle of the night, it sounded like someone was trying to come in the room but it was the neighbor. I woke up a couple times because it sounded like someone slammed the door but it's just how they close.

I want to give it more stars but can't because our room smells like smoke and the toilet seat has a cigarette burn in it. The bathroom is a bit small and dark too. Other than that we are pleased with it. The room has a nice kitchenette. The pool has a lifeguard. Gary at the front desk was super friendly and helpful.

I'll start with the good: Breakfast was delicious. Honestly. I'm not sure its worth $180, which is roughly what I paid for the room, but I feel like I paid that amount entirely for the breakfast because nothing else about our stay was remotely as delightful as the free breakfast. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. Both the pool and fitness center were miniature even by "hotel" standards, though we were in Annapolis to explore Annapolis, not chill at the hotel. The ice machine in our building was broken and was never repaired for the duration of our stay. The room was missing some of the advertised amenities, including a fridge and a microwave, and the bathroom was ridiculously small. However, all of this would be forgivable had the situation that occured post-checkout been handled better. About an hour after checking out, my younger sister (an adult, granted, but still younger than myself) had realised she left her stuffed penguin in the room. That penguin came from her boyfriend and it is very special to her, so we had to go back and retrieve it. The front desk staff called laundry who returned the penguin to us, but as we were leaving the lady at the front desk yelled at my sister "DON'T PUT IT DOWN!". I think this may have been an attempt at a joke but she was not smiling or laughing when she said it, so the humour was lost on us. My sister was upset. I don't like to complain about customer service employees, and I don't want to get anyone into trouble by writing this review, but I will advise anyone reading this review to not leave things behind if they are staying at this hotel! The situation was just embarrassing for us all.

The building we stayed in was separate from the main building that had the office. It was more like a dormitory than a hotel. The bathroom was extremely small and was separated into two rooms. One had the toilet and bathtub and the sink was outside that room. The room smelled like moth balls. Not a pleasant odor. The breakfast area was very small and crowded. The food was substandard in my opinion also. I didn't think that I got my money's worth and I would not stay at that location again. Not satisfied with my stay.

The room was quite a bit smaller than expected; I did a room with a queen and it was a bit crowded for two people. It was manageable though. When we arrived, they had mixed up our booking, which caused a bit of stress, but it seemed it got straightened out a couple days later. Unfortunately, they also didn't give us any hand soap for the bathroom. It wasn't exactly great, but it ended up being comfortable enough.

This was an older property. The rates were high due to naval graduation, but it was the least expensive option in the area. The room was clean and the staff were friendly when I asked them questions. I enjoyed the variety of items available for complementary breakfast and all-day coffee.

The staff at this motel was excellent. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. The price for the room was about triple during Naval Academy graduation week, with a 3 day minimum stay. They have a very good breakfast with many items being offered, plus there is 24 hr. coffee available at the lobby.

Recently stayed at the Beat Western after the Chesapeake Bay Blues Fest. The room was clean the beds were comfortable and the breakfast the next morning was better than most. I would definitely stay here again. There were a lot of restaurants and conveniences nearby.

This is an older hotel that we booked because of the rate offered as a VIP attendee at the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival. Everything else was at least 75% higher. Hotel clean enough. Good bed. Room fan noise in the bathroom noisy and there was a constantly running fan behind one of the walls. Breakfast: predictable, with terrible scrambled eggs and greasy ham and sausage patties. Coffee surprisingly good. Parking right outside the room is great. Very good internet. Crummy TV

Good Hotel for Motorcycle tour. Room was close to parking and waling distance to restaurants. Clean room and excellent service. Bed was very comfortable. Tv needed upgrading to a good HD quaslity asnd the speed of the internet could be faster.

Stayed overnight on the way through to the south. It like a motel so you enter your room from outside. I know that feature is attractive to pet owners as is the dog walk area near the back of the hotel. Decor was good. Bathrooms are a little dated. Breakfast has the normal fare.

The motel was a bit of a disappointment as the room was TINY and a bit expensive but it was very close to downtown which was what we needed. No closet just a rack to hang clothes in the bathroom directly above the safe so clothes did not hang nicely When in front of the bathroom mirror, constantly bumping into clothes. No useable full length mirror to see how you look, it was behind the loveseat. Free breakfast was nice lots to choose from. Staff were friendly and helpful. Free parking. Highway is right next to the motel so it is a bit loud from the traffic. Only 2 floors with no elevator so ask for ground floor room, easier to unload luggage.

After a very long day on the road it was nice to stay at a safe and clean hotel that would accommodate our pets. They also had a nice breakfast in the morning. The breakfast included waffles, yogurt, and coffee eliminating our any need to stop and spend additional funds on the breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable and we would stay there again next year when we return from Florida.

We stayed 5 nights at this hotel. There are 3 buildings and we were in the rearmost which abuts onto a highway, so there was constant noise from traffic. Located near 3 very nice malls, and a 10-15 minute drive into Annapolis. Free breakfast was OK. Wifi not incredibly speedy & often stopped working later in the evening. On the last night of our stay, we were woken at 2AM by the cops making a drug arrest directly outside our room. (Apparently the suspect was loitering around trying to make a sale.) I don't know if I'd stay here again, considering there could be some unsavory types around.

Shortly after we had checked into our room, an emergency came up which we had to head home. The staff was gracious enough only to charge us a small fee to have housecleaning come back in to make up the room. The room was very nice, and the staff could not have been any better!!

I'm not saying I wouldn't stay here again but the hotel is more like a motel,we stayed on the 2nd floor and there's no elevator,the workout facility is in a seperate building,the room was ok some of the furnishings need updated,would I stay here again?Maybe can't really say now.

Two nights stay, 1st night $48.00 cheaper than second night Friday with a boat show in town, but 1/2 the price at Lowes Hotel in town, where classes were being held. My room was not in the main building but in a lower two story building across the parking lot and down the hill. The bathroom was clean but the caulking job around the tub base was poorly done. Carpet in hallway looked worn but the room carpet was clean and in good shape.

the room was fairly clean. it could have been better.the bathroom was really small & the tub was slanted downward towards the tolic. it threw us off balance. the choice of the carpet in the room & hallway was ugly. the breakfest they had there was not good at all & the coffee was even worse. stick to the cold cereal & toast. the hotel staff were very nice & helpful. our stay was not the best, but it was not the worst either. the hotel was however in a very good location to everything you need or want to go to.

Everything good about this hotel except night time security. Had the worst night ever with someone stomping about overhead until 2AM. Outside, others were going around banging on doors at 5AM and on ours at 5:30AM.

This hotel was very convenient and met all my needs .Also the price was right.I enjoyed my stay . The staff was very helpful .I will select this hotel again when I am in the area. I was surprised of the location, at first, but found it to be very centrally located to shopping and sightseeing.

This hotel needs a severe cleaning. I am asthmatic and need a non-smoking room. Getting in late, tired, with no time to switch rooms, I "dealt" with the fact this room had obviously been used as a SMOKING room on several occasions. There was even burn marks on the furniture! Worst night's sleep since college! YUCK.

Would highly recommend this location to my fellow truck drivers. Easy on and off highway. Ample parking with courteous staff. Continental breakfast selections were great, as well as fresh. Rooms are clean and fresh.

I will start first with what was good...The staff was VERY friendly and the breakfast is GREAT! The downfall came with the room. We had a combo microwave/fridge that continued to make a ticking noise even when it was not in use and we continued to turn it off but then it would start again. We couldn't unplug the microwave because it was connected to the fridge which were using. The beds need to be replaced, the springs sprung underneath of you and there was no support. The phone in the room didn't work either. I only needed to call the front desk. Thank goodness for cell phones.

I stayed for 2 nights in April and everything was great. Service was exceptional from check in to check out, beds very comfortable, free wi fi signal was strong, the proximity to downtown Annapolis was fine (I used uber) and breakfast included is a nice perk. Would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay and feel welcome. In a great location for the local area. A friendly atmosphere, breakfast was awesome. Easy access to the highway system allowing you to get where you need to go quickly. 20 minutes from BWI.

Check in was quick and easy. Good value for price paid. Courteous staff. Room was as expected and clean. Toiletries supplied. Everything working and clean. Bed was firmer which I liked and not sagging on ends. TV and internet service was good. Water was hot and great water pressure. Only complaints was close to highway and could hear noise at night. Also walls are a little thin and good hear neighbors talking. Recommend bringing earplugs if light sleeper.

Very nice peaceful stay. Room was comfortable. Shower could have been a bit cleaner but it was acceptable. Continental breakfast is very basic as expected. Coffee was good. Service was great. No noise and a very pleasant stay.

The hotel was clean and neat, staff very friendly, room spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was GREAT with hot pancakes, sausage, egss, all kids of breads/rolls/sweets, all kinds of spreads/jelly/nutella, fresh fruit, yogurt. Only negative was that room faced a highway we didn't realize was there and car/truck noises were fairly loud.

If watching hillbillies drink beer out of the back of their pick-up truck in the parking lot, loud clomping all night on the stairs outside the room and buzzing appliances from lamps to shower fans are fine with you at inflated prices, this hotel is for you. Otherwise, go elsewhere. No amount of staff friendliness, which Best Western, in its defense, offers plenty of, can make up for two youngsters' sleep being elusive because of the noise and the clientele. For adults, the biggest obstacle to discerning taste is getting past the postmodern Soviet-style Bauhaus School of Design exterior decor, which would make Walter Gropius himself proud, it being so reminiscent of a proletarian warehouse storage facility. Keep driving, as the sign is easily missable.

Very clean room, great breakfast was included. Comfortable bed, internet access, and other amenities in the room such as a mini refrigerator, safe, hair dryer, and coffee pot made the stay a good one. The only negative was noise coming from room above me. I suggest asking for a room on the second floor instead of the first.

The staff was exceptional. The room was clean and I needed a refrigerator so they quickly put one in the room, along with a microwave. Received a call to make sure we checked in room ok. Breakfast was pretty good for continential breakfast. The hotel was located close to sites we visited. And the room was very reasonable.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night while traveling and it was a wonderful experience. The room was great and had a huge king bed! The staff was wonderful and there was a very nice complimentary breakfast in the morning with great options. The area has many options for dining. We would definitely chose this hotel again.

The Best Western in Annapolis is a great hotel. It's clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful especially the Assistant Manager, it's conveniently located about ten minutes from the center of Annapolis. I enjoyed my stay here. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

Room was dated but clean. Door had large gaps all the way around. Very convenient location. Within walking distance of a lot of food a shopping. Breakfast was pretty good, although wife stated bagels were stale.

The hotel scrambled our reservation dates and then refused to correct their error and insisted on charging us for THEIR error. We canceled the reservation and will go elsewhere. This is the first time we have ever encountered this kind of intransigence during our many stays with Best Western

The room I stayed in at the Best Western in Annapolis, MD was a King bed which was very soft but acceptable. The quality of the room for the price was disappointing. It was old and tired. The shower inset was horrible, it squeaked every time I moved.

Room was clean, and it had everything we needed. Although I did sleep well, you can easily hear the people above as they walk around the room, and take showers. Other than that, you do get what you pay for, and for that rate, it was well worth it. The free breakfast had a lot of choices- which included sausage, ham and eggs.

The hotel was great, clean and the breakfast was good. I however was most impressed with the staff, they were incredible, polite, professional and they addressed my needs right away and did so cheerfully. I will stay here again.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting our son at the US Naval Academy. Our room was clean and neat. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and it was close to shopping and restaurants.

I found the desk staff, and domestic staff to be courteous. The room was clean as was the property. The area of the hotel was convenient to major roadways and in a safe area. The complimentary breakfast was adequate.

Basic hotel. Never saw a bathroom in a hotel as small as this one was. Shower was ok - hot water supply was not always great. Toilet didn't always flush right. Bed was hard and pillows were too soft Breakfast buffet was great.

We booked via Expedia for the Military Bowl. The location is good, we were off the highway and at the hotel in minutes avoiding the three miles of traffic into the downtown area. I have no complaints about the room. It is clean, with a mini fridge and microwave. Standard breakfast is included. This is not a fancy place, it suited our needs and wasn't too expensive.

This hotel was excellent. Everyone was courteous, and professional. Everything in the room worked well, no issues. It was quiet and comfortable. I really enjoyed the breakfast in the morning and it was not a "Continental Breakfast". It was a full breakfast, it was hot and delicious. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again in the future.

2nd time staying here. Breakfast buffet is excellent again. all if the staff are friendly and helpful. This hotel is an excellent value for us. We will stay here again when we return to Annapolis in the spring.

stay in the main building, its very comfortable. breakfast assortment is excellent and in a very comfortable room with a flat screen running news. newspapers are available as is a snack bar. internet for free wifi in your room and many plug ins. in warm weather theres a nice outside area to bring your breakfast. the outside pool is lovely and there are lifeguards

The room was clean but a little out dated. The free continental breakfast was a great plus. Its location near a mall and near multiple dining venues was a plus. The overall the value for the dollar was good!

Stayed here 2 nights while in town for the Navy-SMU football game. The hotel staff, especially the manager, were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel was an older one that had been renovated, so overall it was nice. More importantly, it was clean. The only issue we had was with the shower: the water temperature was fickle, to say the least. Other than that, a very pleasant stay!

Everything was great about this hotel except for the fact that the ventilation is all connected, the non-smoking rooms are surrounded by smoking rooms, smoke seeps through the electric plugs, the bathroom fan vents, the walls. If you want a smoking room, this is a fine choice.

First I would have to say the staff is outstanding .. Ms Pat is by far the best customer service rep I ever dealt with. Her comforting smile and attentiveness is excellent. She's prompt and if there's ever a problem she has the answer. As well as everyone else on staff. Rooms are in great condition as far as the rate is concerned. Affordable. Quiet and comfortable

We were in Annapolis helping my elderly parents pack up and move to NC. When we arrived at the hotel at 3 PM we were all exhausted. The check in was seamless, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was more than the typical continental. We were well rested for the drive the next day. When I checked other Annapolis hotel options, they were way too expensive for what we wanted. We were grateful for the reasonable price.

This was a nice hotel, very clean and very good service. Room was clean, fairly tight size with average furnishings. Some noise from the highway. Certainly acceptable but not outstanding. Breakfast was also decent, very clean. Staff throughout the stay were very helpful and kind.

OK for the price - good breakfast. Hotel dated, rooms on the small side - could barely get past the queen bed and the computer desk/chair to get to the bathroom without tripping over something. Duvet uncomfortable to use -either got too hot or too cold with it off - thermal blanket would have been a better choice. Bathroom sink area over crowded with ironing board, safe, and clothes hanger rack. nd dark, shower, toilet appeared to have been updated.

It was a very affordable price and the room and hotel were nice. If you want "luxury," this would not be it. But, if you are looking for a good hotel with great staff and a decent price, this is it. It is right next to a more upscale hotel, and the location is safe.

I thought the price was a little high for what I got at this hotel. The rooms were accessed through outside doors, and the decor was a little dated. I booked through Expedia, so I thought I was getting a really great price. I was very disappointed. We were on the first floor, and there is evidently very little insulation between floors because we could hear noises all night from the guests above walking around. The free breakfast was something I was looking forward to, but the pastries were a little stale, the eggs had a funny taste, and the coffee was a little watered down. This is a great location, though. We were in town for a Navy football game, and we were located right down the street from the free shuttle. I guess you take the good with the bad. If I return to Annapolis, I probably won't be staying here.

While the beds and towels were decent and the room was clean, this is a hotel that I won't revisit. The room is in dire need of renovation with sagging wallpaper and poorly done wall repairs. The noise from the room upstairs was incessant. There was a constant squeak with their every step (maybe floor joists?). The noise from the traffic outside was no better. I couldn't get a good night's sleep even with earplugs in. The rollaway bed that we had ordered for our midshipman to use was unusable. It was so bad that she chose to stay on the Yard the second night instead of staying with us! The room was clean and the staff was very friendly, but it just doesn't make up for the rest. For the money and for the location, it was not a good deal at all. I wouldn't go back and I won't recommend this hotel to other Naval Academy families.

Good value for the money. Front desk staff were very friendly and the morning breakfast was great especially the coffee. Did have trouble sleeping because of the worn mattress but other than that we enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here in July 2015 with several other senior couples (age 60+). It was a great location for the Annapolis adventures we enjoyed, the service was good and out rooms were clean and well maintained. Our only problem was that we didn't have access to the pool until 11:00 am and it closed again around 7:00 pm which didn't allow us time to gather around the pool after a full day of sight seeing in Annapolis. We had to take our room chairs outside and gather around on the patio outside the pool because there we no life guards on duty. I would not recommend this hotel to groups wanting to socialize together around the pool in the early evening or go for a swim in the morning. The pool was beautiful and well maintained and very inviting when the temps hit 90!

Room was adequate for the price paid. Very near shuttle for race we were in town for. Bathroom very small as was tub. Was OK for the two night stay we had but if we had to stay longer would have picked a fancier hotel.

The hotel is old, and in several different buildings, which was odd. Felt a little less safe being in a different building with just rooms. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was quiet. Everything worked fine in the room. Just really needs a face lift. The one negative was all soaps, lotions and shampoo came out of wall dispensers with no brand labels, could have been anything. For some reason that really bothered me.

This was my second stay here. Both stays have been positive. The mattresses seemed new and the room was clean. Pat at the front desk was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Remember, this is a Best Western, not some 5 star resort. Its a great "budget" hotel choice.

Entire staff was very attentive; breakfast had a nice variety of fresh fruit and hot food every day. The pancake machine was a big hit with everyone there. Overall experience was very good for an extremely reasonable price.

We stayed here for the night of 08 July 2015. There are 2 buildings and the lower building is tucked back far enough away from Riva Road to obscure road noise. Check in was fast and easy. We thought the room was very nice, clean and attractively decorated, although the mattress was too soft for my taste. The free breakfast was excellent with a number of hot and cold choices. We would stay here again.

Staff was very courteous and the hotel was clean. Expectations should be reasonable but this was a good deal for the money. Outdoor entry to rooms and sort of secluded location makes you a little leery at night but never felt unsafe.For the money spent it was a good deal in a central location very close to Annapolis

Our room was very nice. Very comfortable bed. The only problem was all of parking spaces near our room were handicapped so we couldn't park close. The staff was very helpful. The food very good. Would stay here again.

Iinitially booked a reservation at a different Hotel for two days but when my girlfriend and I arrived they advised that we only were booked for 1 night instead of 2 and that they were sold out. We were a little disappointed because she had just came in from out of town and we both have hectic schedules so we just wanted to spend as much Time as possible and we specifically chose that location for several reasons mainly the location. We looked online and just searched for the closest Hotel and the Best Western was the winner. We decided to just make the most of it but I truly believe our stay was improved by having to relocate. The customer service was amazing especially Kay and Zack at the Front Desk, they were very accommodating, attentive and helpful. The room had some very nice features but the ones that stood out to me were the dispenser for soap/shampoo/conditioner/lotion and I personally like the sink and vanity being outside the bathroom because it provides alot more room and open space when your getting ready. Overall it was a great experience, its in a prime location to shopping, food, entertainment and you get great service without breaking the bank. Everything happens or doesn't for a reason and Im grateful that our initial reservation was botched because it led us to finding this little hidden Jewel.

Needed: A new assistant manager. Pat [--] , assistant manager, in essence, called me a liar. Wednesday night (10/14/15) was okay with facilities and exterior noise/smoke. About midnight on Thursday night (10/15-16/15), my wife and I smelled cigarette smoke and I stayed awake hearing what sounded like running on the outside passageway (we were in room 105). Eventually, I fell asleep. I woke up around 4:00 a.m. Friday, 10/16/15, hearing loud noises in what sounded like above room 105 (didn't zero in on location) and smelling cigarette smoke. I thought about calling the front desk or police, but decided to try to go back to sleep. Friday morning, approximately 10:15, my wife and I checked out at the front desk and told Pat [--] the experiences noted above. She informed me that my story was "interesting" because there were no guests registered in the rooms next to us or above us. I felt like she was saying that I was lying, just wanting a discount on the two-night stay. That would be nice, but I mostly wanted an apology for disturbances on the Best Western property. Good luck if you HAVE to stay here.

This hotel was exactly as it was advertised. The entire building was smoke free and pet free and exceptionally clean. The staff was extremely responsive to the two problems we had and resolved them quickly and cheerfully. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone staying in the Annapolis area. If this is an example of the Best Western chain they're great places to stay.

Best place, best people, best rooms. We have stayed here 13 times over the past 15 years. Great value, clean rooms great location. They go out of their way to help you any way possible. Beds are comfortable and the pillows extra fluffy. Towels are top of the line and don't scratch!

Do not stay at this hotel unless you want to go away smelling like a gas station bathroom. Not only that but the bathroom smelled strongly of bleach. The only thing good I can say is that the picture above the bed was nice.

We were disappointed on check in, on finding this was not a hotel at all. There were no interior hallways, no elevators, and the complex was actually 3 separate buildings of 2 floors each. We needed heavy coats and rain gear to walk to the lobby and/or breakfast. The exercise room was in another building. The outside staircases to the 2nd floor would be treacherous in winter weather. This was not good for an older couple. All that said, it would be a fine motel for a business traveler or a younger family for a short vacation stay in the Annapolis area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Perhaps we had been spoiled by previous overnights at the Hampton Inn in MA.

I would call this an exceptional Motel. The rooms are large, fully kitted out with all you need, large comfy beds, safe, big modern TV, table with good chairs, good bathroom with shower that works fine, very clean, parking outside the door. Staff very helpful with directions etc. shopping close by and within reach of the Harbour by car. Breakfast is a bit of a free for all with disposable dishes and limited fare but for the money, acceptable. don't expect too much as its not a Hotel but fits the bill for a one night stay.

Front desk super helpful. The room with queen bed a little small,but 1 night no problem. The was clean ,bath clean. In room everything works. Wifi works. The breakfast is outstanding Place safe. Close supermarket,stores everything walking distance. Best local.

In this price range, this hotel is an excellent value. Breakfast was presented fully and was extremely clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable. I would stay here again when in the area. The hotel is off the road and difficult to see at night, but worth the effort

After having spent 3 nights in a suites type hotel, this location was a bit of a shock. The room was compact but I have to admit it was clean and the linens were fresh and crisp. The internet was suitable fast The location has 2 stories and there is no elevator. It is near a highway so you get noise. It also near shopping and there plenty of restaurants in the area. The breakfast is more than just pastries. It includes fresh fruit, ham, eggs, muffins, yogurt, cereal and more.

I attended a conference at United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland, so I chose the local Best Western Hotel (Riva Road). The place was nice and the people fantastic. I've found really nice people from the desk to the breakfast room. I recommend this place if you need to spend your time in Annapolis. Yours, Flavio Sanza.
