Amrath Berghotel Amersfoort, BW Signature Collection

We were very disappointed with our stay. The room is incredibly basic. No cosyness or atmosphere at all and is in serious need of an update. Hospitals have more atmosphere. The room was clean but glass bottles, plates, glasses and trays were littered in front of the elevators. Not just when we arrived but throughout our entire stay. The coffeemachine in the room did not work either. We won't be coming back.

As a frequent business traveler, I've seen hundreds of hotels. This hotel was my absolute low-light in 2023. I'll never come back: - Dirty bathroom: when opening the room and the bathroom, there was plenty of long hair on the bathroom floor - I have short hair, it can't be from me; also, the wash basin is old and has many cracks (room 212) - Smelly room: the room was smelly, as if someone had smoked in it before and the smoke hadn't been properly removed (non-smoking room) - Insufficient light: the main lights above the bed are so weak that I wasn't able to unpack/pack my suitcase without an extra lamp - Poorly made bed: the underbed wasn't properly aligned, there were wrinkles that I had to straighten - Untrained front desk: upon my complaint, the only reaction was to write down my complaint, but there was no follow up or any sign of excuse - No business address on invoice, incorrect e-mail: although I had left my business card upon check-in, the company name was missing, so I had to call the frontdesk again to have it added; the e-mail address was mistyped twice from the business card, so I had to call the frontdesk twice to have it corrected and finally get my invoice

This hotel has a foresty location. There is a (not well) signed walk through the woods near it. Staff is friendly. Ample free parking. The hotel consist of three separate but connected buildings: the original old hotel with lots of charm, a newer part and a newest part. The breakfast area is lovely. The smallest rooms are called 'comfort' rooms, about 18 square meters. Breakfast is good. The lobby has an area for coffee, tea and sweet stuff. Makes you feel like home. It is about 1.5 miles from the city center.

Excellent hotel. Nicely decorated and comfortable bedroom. Good selection at breakfast and good evening meal although no choice. But was with a coach tour so understandable. Staff very helpful. Tea coffee and sweets biscuits in reception.

We were on a coach trip from 17th - 21st April. Unfortunately my husband fell ill the day before we were to leave & had to go to hospital near by, they operated on him on Friday. I would just like to say that all the Berghotel staff went beyond making my extended stay very comfortable and they helped me by sending emails & printing documents out, nothing was too much trouble. I thanked them all.

Very basic no frills hotel. The curtains were hanging off the rail in room 201. The toilet was very brown and stained. Silverfish bugs in shower. Dusty and dirty in places. Basic breakfast. Only one person serving so a lot of food missing such as no bacon to have with scrambled eggs. Nice helpful staff as no comfy beds though. Would not return.

Berghotel was an exceptionally nice place to stay due to the design of the room and the building in general. The restaurant part has kept the old time free in a very nice manner, and the rooms (at least the one where I was staying) was designed in a very innovative way by having the wash basin and counter in the room and not in a separate bathroon. This created the feel of a much bigger room. And as an additional plus factor, there is free coffee available all the time! The only minus I can think of is that the hotel is a bit far from the very cosy and pictoresque Amersfoort old town. It is, however, still possible to walk there.

People at the reception ok, very poor at the restaurant where I had booked a dinner from the airport. I was received with a sense of disgust and tolerance, as if someone had obliged them to receive me. And the bill (39€ for a steak and a beer) was excessive, unfortunately I could not check the menu in advance so they prepared what they wanted. I was not the only guest: there was a team in a dedicated room but, as they were Dutch, it was ok for them. For sure I will not repeat the experience. The room was also poor, badly insulated from noises and the electrical plugs were only with two poles, so I could not recharge my PC. And the plug in the bathroom did not stand the power of the hair dryer, so I had to use it in the room without a mirror close to the plug. This hotel is not worth at all the money and the lack of politeness at the restaurant makes me put this hotel in the black list.

Amersfoort Berghotel, i.e. Mountain hotel, is located in the fine height area, southwest Amersfoort. The Dutch, most of them living in flat land, below sea level, call it the mountain area. Interesting Dutch exaggeration. Every slope a mountain. Anyhow, the Berghotel, well located also for a stroll through the adjacent woodland just across the street, is a fine hotel, friendly and knowledgeable staff, good bar and restaurant, fine outside seating too. Even their relatively lowest prized rooms are well equipped with coffee/tea facility and aircon. As often in Dutch hotels the interior designer has had the idea that low light is cosy. Thus, the entrance area with check in desk and adjacent big table with newspapers is darkish. Read a newspaper at ease: forget it or bring your own light. I really do not understand the interior designers. You'll suffer their work in a lot of fine Dutch hotels, such as the Berghotel, that I can recommend. Good breakfast buffet too.

(6 days stay Feb 2021) This quirky hotel delivers bang for the bucks with elegance and small disruption. The place's booking took 45 minutes, with the hotel's help by phone and internet, with a lot of confusing information about an all-in arrangement, but in the end, the staff gracefully ruled in my favour and treated me like a king. My problem with a broken bath was solved quickly (got a new room), a broken phone not ("it will take more time"). There was some tension between the young reception desk staff and older restaurant staff, but the breakfast kept coming every morning in time. The staff was extremely flexible, allowing to have breakfast noon or lunch at the end of the afternoon but don't try to mail them, you won't get an answer, even after I asked for a quote for another week in the hotel (so I didn't extend the stay). I liked that I could open the windows although you will hear local traffic during the day. Free parking and (paid) charging possible for electronic cars, but the parking place was not well maintained. As you can see, there is almost in every sentence of this review a "but." So why on earth am I giving 5 stars? It's all about how the hotel staff responded. The booking took very long, yes, but the staff itself pointed out a good deal that I missed myself. The bath problem was solved with a new room, and a technician explained the dead telephone, so I had more understanding of the problem. A staffer, whos shift ended, helped me with charging my car in total darkness and pointed out a movement-sensitive light. So if anything goes off in this hotel, don't hesitate to ask. They will help you.

Hotel is very clean. The double room is very spacious and bath is decorated. The big smart TV is a big advantage so you can see your local channels (through application) or Netflix. Hotel staff are very services and whiling to fulfill all your requirements. Breakfast is amazing

My family and I stayed for a week and a half at the hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional and accommodated us in every way, especially with our 2 small children of 1 and 2 years of age. They truly went above and beyond. I would especially like to thank Bjorn and reception for their kindness. The breakfast was great and the food at the hotel was fantastic. The only sour point was that the rooms were not cleaned properly as most of the staff were on leave. We had to complain twice. The bare minimum was done with only the beds being made and new towels being placed in our rooms. We had to ask for dishes to be removed from our rooms and for the toilet paper to be refilled. There really should have been some sort of notice that there would be a lack of service or a special fee. It felt unfair that there was no such notice as we expected advertised services such as the laundry to be up and running. The rooms have 2 single beds, a TV, hairdryer, air conditioner or heater, shower and coffee machine. It is quite lovey however the lighting of the room is quite odd and if you want to sleep with the air conditioner on, it lights up the whole room which can be unpleasant. The setting is great being so close to the city and you can hire bikes at the hotel to get there. I would recommend this hotel however I would warn against the lack of services.

Hotel is close to highway and not far away from city center; Parking is free of charge with chargers for EV's. Unfortunately my card was not working on that type of charger. Employees are very friendly and ready to help. Room is clean.

amazing staff very friendly, delicious food, great service just very dark - no natural light anywhere inside and all the walls are dark dark colours. i stayed for 3 weeks and they never changed the sheets on my bed which was a bit gross but other than all that it was comfortable and a beautiful town

Small quiet hotel with a very nice outside area for dining..food and wine nice but pricey.. Rooms were okay, however lack of toiletries, towels, iron etc let place down..Reception friendly and restaurant manager and staff very warm and professional..however maintenance in rooms were a let down..

Stayed three nights at the Best Western Plus Berghotel Amersfoort. It's located a few minutes drive in the town of Amersfoort and also with easy access back to the motorway. Free parking is available but as the hotel holds conferences and business meetings parking spaces can be limited. The staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous. The room was reasonably large with a shower room and separate toilet. The washbasin was located behind the Bedhead. The room had coffee making facilities, a safe, air-conditioning and a flatscreen TV. We dinned at the restaurant only on one night and used the bar area each night. The food was good, the Waiters friendly and efficient. The drinks, in particular the Gin & Tonic, I believe expensive (10 Euro plus an extra 3 Euro for the tonic water). The free WiFi reception in the room (room 139) was very slow and at sometimes we could'nt connect at all which meant having to go down the the Reception area to get online, which was inconvenient on some occasions. Overall, our stay was a pleasant one and we would probably stay again at the Best Western Plus Berghotel Amersfoort.

Excellent hotel, clean, friendly, great food and service. Great choice for breakfast, comfy bed, nice en suite. Near enough to walk to town of Amersfoort, drive of 60 miles to bulb fields. Lift to rooms, Porter for carrying luggage, good WiFi.

Stayed here 3 nights with Shearings. Yes it`s a good Hotel, staff, friendly and food OK but had better. Worse night was the 2nd when they served Red Mullet, NOT for the English I think! Everyone complained about it. Other wise the rest was good. only other complaint I have was the sink in the bathroom. Not much dip in it and just a slit down the middle for the water to go down. No plug! What idiot seriously got well paid for that idea? Absolutely ridiculous!

Customer service is second to none, great facilities, great restaurant and bar. Nice breakfast bar everyday, great meeting rooms. Bikes for rent to go around. Overall amazing hotel and the best staff. I would visit again without hesitation.

When we booked, we were really impressed by the location of the hotel in the midst of the forest and the inviting staff at the reception counter who made us very welcomed. We were not happy with the booked room and asked for an upgrade. Enter the room, there was a physical defect with the window, which could not be closed, so we were moved to the second option, a nice room on the top floor. Small but well designed with separate toilet and shower. The room is fine, except the room safe was not working and the poor reception lady not having the real technical know-how, could not help either. Had dinner on the first night. Service and food excellent. Unfortunately, the downside is their housekeeping. The room is poorly cleaned daily and we stayed 3N/4D. Shower cell ceiling light not fixed, even reminders are made. Breakfast is nice, as long the hotel hosts meetings. We stayed over the weekend and the buffet spread is halved with only one staff on duty. No refills. Good free WiFi and free car park Overall a mixed bag. A pity as the hotel is nice and there are really highlights we will not forget, but we won't return

Booked this hotel for 3 nights for a reasonable price (deal was 3=2). The people at the reception are friendly. The standard room was (of course) not large but that could be expected. I found a tv, airco, large double bed, coffee machine, safe, good bathroom and electric window opening system behind the bed. When closed there was almost no sound of the sometimes busy road in front of the hotel. All doors make a lot of noise when closing them. This comes because the locking mechanism requires hard pulling at the doors to close them so in the evening and in the morning the guest wake up each other so no need to bring your own alarm clock :) On the last day the locking mechanism or the access card broke down and I had to go to the reception 3 times. In the end I got a real key and instructions how to get access to the hidden keyhole. That worked! The breakfast was ok and just above average. No rolls/buns, at least nopt at the time I visited the breakfast room at 08.30 :) except the croissant. The boiled eggs and bacon were rather cold. A good coffee machine was available. Their parking is large but when there are many meetings/parties (they have many conference rooms) it might get crowded. In front of the hotel is a nice relax area for when the temperatures are high enough to sit outside. So, all in all a pleasant stay and got value for money.

Friendly staff, a pleasure to stay, nice old but refurbished building, quiet, plenty of parking space, close to the ciry centre, all for a very reasonable price! Recommend to all, you will not be disappointed!

We stayed at the last leg of our 2 weeks holidays trip! It was relaxing and quite place, nice clean room, friendly staff. Bus service at the gate and a few minutes walk to the train station. Old classic buildings. 30 minutes by train to Amsterdam and less costly than a hotel in Amsterdam!! Cheap and best for relaxing and enjoying the weather while walking.

Variously aged people from different parts of the world with different tastes and needs were well-catered for by the hotel and its cheerful, patient, multilingual staff as they gathered for a family wedding. The rooms were clean and well-appointed though some are more modern than others.The breakfast spread was excellent and the restaurant food too though the menu was limited. They tried to cater for any special requests.

Stayed here on a driving tour of The Netherlands. Large car park, not a problem. The checkin was swift and the receptionist was very polite and helpful. Our room was good, clean and large open plan. With 2 tv's, Jack and Jill sinks, double jacuzzi bath. Bed was large and comfortable. The bar had an outside seating area with various comfortable chairs seating from couples to large groups sat in a circle, there were also a couple of cabanas. No complaints apart from, could not get the air con to come down below 21 degrees. Would definitely stay here again. Recommended.

Very nice suburban hotel. Plenty of free parking space. We booked ourself a deluxe twinroom. Friendly quick checkin. No recognition as being a BW Rewards Diamond member. Nice room with everything in working order. A/C individual controled. Nice coffee/tea tray. Complimentary bottled water and a piece of fresh fruit. Beds are oke. Just a bit on the soft side to our liking. We had a good quiet sleep. Next morning we were surprised with a great display and assortment of the breakfast buffet. Breakfast room is spacious. Good coffee and nice assortment of teas. Fresh baked breads. Lovely homemade jams. Good crispy croissants. Were always happy when the hotel serves a good breakfast!

Stayed here with a colleague on a work trip. Upon arrival plenty off parking . Check in fast and efficient and staff friendly and helpful . Room was fine quite big comfortable bed air conditioning unit in room. Wifi was good desk to work plenty off hanging space I would say room looking a little tired but very clean very quiet . Bathroom big plenty off towels tollietries. We decided to eat in hotel . This is met reason for not giving this review five stars the restaurant was not busy but service was painfully slow from food coming to ordering . We arrived at 7.15 orders not taken until 7.50 did not get main course until 8.30 . In saying the above though waiter super friendly did apologise and steak when it arrived was very good. Breakfast was good a very good selection off cereals pastries hot food cold meats and breads yoghurts. Overall not a bad stay.

Hotel reception team were great and friendly, room clean, quiet and not bad, very annoying light switches on the bed so every time you move in the night the pillows catch the switch and the lights come on waking you up! Restaurant is poor, service was not friendly, inattentive and food also very average for the price. Shame because the environment is nice.

I spent 3 nights due to some work meetings. The room was nice and clean. I had the window and a balcony facing the restaurant terrace and no noise bothered me from outside, but voices from the corridor disturb if people are loud when they pass the door. The room was nice and the bed was great. A coffee-tea tray was well-equipped. I missed a mini-fridge to store some cold drinks and snacks on my own. I also missed some closets and shelves to unpack my bags; there was only hangers and a table. I was alone so I didn't need much space, but for two persons, well I don't know where all the belongings should be placed? I had lunch once and also dinner once in the restaurant. Nothing to complain about the food or service. For dinner I had the vegetarian Fregoli and it was good. I don't know why previous vegetarian reviewers hadn't got that. Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room comfortable. Service was ok. Except for when I asked about the bus connections to the city and back the receptionist didn't know and didn't want to find it out for me... So I walked.

The room was basic but comfortable. It had enough plug points for us to plug in all our electronic devices. The bathroom was small but enough space to to dry yourself after showering. They have a complimentary cafe where you can help yourself to coffee, flavoured water, biscuits, soup etc whilst you relax and read or like the one day we watched the Royal wedding on the TV. Dinner was a very big disappointment. The service was OK but the meal size was the smallest I have ever eaten. Not good!!! Hence the other two nights we cycled into the old city and found a restaurant to eat. Breakfast is a buffet with a lovely selection of tasty food. From juice, fruits, yogurts, breads, eggs, cold meats, cheeses and really good coffee. Very good. The staff at the front desk were always very helpful.

Staff were particularly pleasant and helpful-they gave the impression that nothing would be too much trouble. Rooms spacious and very clean.We enjoyed the black and white pictures on various walls showing the history of the Hotel. The breakfast was acceptable if somewhat lacking in choice compared to other Hotels of similar size. Overall a good standard

Although the hotel was notified in advance that I am a vegetarian, they were not prepared for me and I was served with a rapidly put together and inedible dish 10 minutes after the rest of the people on my table were served. I struggled to eat half of it, and it was only luke warm, then told the waiter that I would like an omelette for the next night. Luckily we only stayed two days there. Surely, in this day and age, more thought could be put into preparing tasty vegetarian dishes, any good chef should be able to do that. The rest of my party were also dissatisfied with their meals.

Staff are very friendly and the complimentary lounge is a lovely extra. You can help yourself to a hot/cold drink plus fruit/cake etc any time of the day for free, which is a lovely way to relax after your day out. Breakfast has an excellent choice. The bread was still warm from being freshly baked and they also had a great choice of different breads. I have rated the service as poor, due to the chaos at our evening meal's We were on a Shearings coach tour and had many issues with the food. NO choice and what we were served was below their normal standards. I am a vegetarian and was served a WHOLE bowl of plain Gnocchi which was of very poor quality for my main meal! I will be contacting Shearing as I was told that our menu had been agreed before our visit, but this hotel has to take the blame for the appalling service and quality of the food. We had to wait approx 50 mins to 1 hour between course's, you can imagine how people felt when after an hour a small fruit salad with a blob of ice cream arrived! Mains were served then 15/20 minutes later SMALL portions of chips and salad arrived, by which time some people had finished the main part of their meal. Also, the actual meals served were insufficient, hopefully they will be more organised when the next coach party arrive next Monday!

Very nice hotel and staff, lovely breakfast, comfortable room. Restaurant is quite expensive but the food is good. Hotel is a lengthy walk from the city center of Amersfoort and train station, but most definitely accessible to both. Would stay here again for another lengthy business travel.

Nice and tidy hotel, rooms are a bit basic but do the trick. Bed was very good, unfortunately the building is a bit noisy. Breakfast is a bonus. Wide selection of fresh and tasty options. Big pro is the location opposed to the city centre of Amersfoort which is a nice town to visit for those of you who like a scenery, but hate a large number of tourists.

I stayed one night. The room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom well equipped and nice size. Breakfast is excellent with great selection of sweet and savoury. Staff very friendly. Hotel is clean and very welcoming. Big car park on-site. A lovely stay.

The first room that was assigned to me had a broken window that could not close properly. It was extremely cold in the room beacuse of that. The staff kindly offered me an alternative. However, the alternative didn't have a double bed as the first one and it was located just above the bar and restaurant. It was noisy till 12pm or later and noisy again at 6am when they prepare breakfast. Food is excellent, not only breakfast, also dinner. I had dinner twice and both times we had to wait around 45 minutes to get our meal. There are better hotels in Amersfoort for this price and closer to town centre, business centre and train station.

We recently stayed at this hotel on a stay three nights pay two basis, in principle mainly selected because of its location on the "edge" of the city so easy to move around in the region, and were really positively surprised about the facilities and services. Staff at the reception, the housekeeping and in the restaurant were extremely friendly and offered any assistance needed. Guest room was contemporary in design, large, and kept very clean and mattress allowed for a great night sleep. Breakfast buffet offered all you need and that complemented with all possible Dutch treats like chocolate spreads, peanut butter, buttermilk, rye bread, Dutch cheeses and a selection of cold cuts....and of course a great bread selection as well as a variety of fruit yoghurts. Definitely a hotel recommended for those after great value for money in a great location

I spent one night in the hotel during a business trip. The overall service was outstanding and both hotel and rooms were comfortable and nice. Best Western decided to keep the name of this traditional hotel (Berghotel) for good reasons and it is certainly one of the most charming hotels of this hotel chain.

We stayed here for our 22 year mariage anniversary. I had mentioned that in a question and they surprised us with two hartshaped helium ballons with an card attached and some chocolates in our room. We had a deluxe twin and it was nice. The hotel lies outside the city and I believe you could walk but to real city center is longer then 20 minutes.. those mentioned 20 minutes are I think still a little on the outskirts of the center. (If you want to be sure check on google maps in advance litterally to the place you want to walk to from the hotel (dont forget to check pedestrian option and not leave it on car ;) ) Aross the hotel, At the other side of the road there is a natural area where one can take a walk (there even is a board detailing it) A big minus was that our room was in a modern annex.(connected with the old part) I though it would be in the historical white building. (had not seen pictures of the modern part and info does not mention it)

I was in a room on the 2nd floor. The room was small, carpet quite old and it did not have a clean feeling. It ws fine for one night as a business traveller. I would not stay with family. Breakfast was good, fresh and a wide selection

The hotel combines, as I saw it, an old and new wing. I stayed in a renovated new wing room which was 'neat'and 'colorful' but a bit small. Service staff were helpful and courteous, environment was nice. Really nor a bad place if you don't mind it a bit basic.

A 45minute train journey direct from schipol and an easy walk from the station and I arrived to a warm welcome. My room was a little quirky in design. Others may just call it modern. Reasonably priced drinks at the bar and a lovely evening meal (steak) was only a little tainted by the fact it took nearly an hour to arrive. If work brings to this neck of the woods again I will definitely stay here again.

Nice size room, good location, friendly staff. Bus service right up the street and a 20 minute walk to the train station. Historic buildings and a nice museum. 30 minutes by train to Amsterdam and less costly than a hotel in Amsterdam!!

I remember the marvellous breakfast! But also the room was very comfortable, the restaurant was a nice place to be, good food and nice beers (try a 'Koene Ridder' when you love Duvel...) good terrace when the sun is shining...

Location: The hotel is located on the outskirts of the city and has a good direct public transport connectivity to the main Station.approx. 15 Mins. Restaurant: The Restaurant is nice Rooms: The rooms are large and well maintained.

This hotel has great internet, which helped enormously in staying on top of work activities while away from the office. The rooms were large and very pleasant and the restaurant was a great dining experience. The staff are fantastic, they are very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

Stay one night, headed for Amsterdam. Large room with walk in Shower which is great as I use a mobility scooter & tub showers are a problem. Breakfast was included which was just ok, could do with more variety & better topping up Room 102 was noisy as there seemed to be storage cupboards with heavy doors that shared a wall & where being opened & closed often in the early morning Wheelchair access was not great from the carpark on the right had side as they have heavy cobble stones in the car park & the road ramp to the door I would stay again but request a different room

This hotel is very well located a few km from the motorway and only a few km from the city centre of Amersfoort. We asked for a quiet room, which worked well. The price for the breakfast was on the high side - EUR 16 pp - but the quality was excellent.

Room and public areas are very clean. I've stayed at a standard room, which is not so big, but enough. Breakfast is very rich. staff are helpful. In the lobby there is a free coffee/tea and some fruits. The acoustic is not so good, where you can hear when someone close the door or using the toilet in the room next to you.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a 'superior double room' and had a very comfortable stay. Worth paying a bit more for the style and extra amenities. The hotel is a very pleasant 20 min walk into town, or 10 EUR in a taxi. Amersfoort and the Berghotel were both lovely and we will return!

I stayed one night recently for work. A clean, comfortable hotel with a nice restaurant in house - very convenient after a long journey in. A modern room with all the expected amenities - quite faultless. Very helpful staff both at reception and the restaurant.

Lovely, helpful staff, we received an upgrade because work was going on in the part we had originally booked and we had a lighty, airy and well appointed room in the "tower". Gym facilities were adequate but quite useful for a short stay. Location is lovely. I would absolutely go there again.

Stayed here because Amsterdam was sold out and Amersfoort has an excellent connection by train to the city. Nice clean, bright rooms, free parking, in the middle of a forested area. Little bar was very pleasant, breakfast was basically nice however we were unlucky that there was a big tour group AND a staff member off sick...breakfast room was a mess when we got there. Luckily the lady that was there helped to quickly clean some space - she was also at the end of her nerves. All in all - good visit, we stayed 2 nights.

We stayed in the older part of the Berghotel. The room was rather small and the bathroom had very limited space. We could have stayed in the renovated part, which would have been more comfortable and totally met our needs.. We recommend the Berghotel in Amersfoort as very good value for the asking price. Incredible helpful and friendly staff.

We stayed here for a business meeting in the area. Check in was fast and efficient . I had a superior double room and I would highly recommend going for this room. The room was large with a desk area , huge bed facing window huge sink area and the room I had did have a roll top bath , but this is. It guaranteed . Room also had a walk I shower and separate toilet . Bath slippers provided as were plenty of toiletries and towels. As we were a big party we had to eat the set menu which was ok but could have been better I had pea soup with a beef kebab and potatoes with ice cream as desert . Service was good all evening for the meal , just needed more choice on set menu one desert choice not great . Bar staff were helpful all evening serving our large party . Wifi connection was not great I did get a good nights sleep . Breakfast was good plenty of choice of juice cereals hot food toast and coffee and tea. Check out fast and efficient , I left by mistake my boarding pass in the hotel and this was brought to me . Overall would recommend staying here .

We (couple, 30) stayed here for 2 nights during the weekend. Really enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, comfortable bed, good roomservice (pizza) and breakfast. Staff at the breakfast room is really relaxed and friendly. Rooms are not luxurious, but fine. Nice that there is a watercooker with tea facilities in the room. Hotel is easily reached by bus (and train Amersfoort CS), also if you want to explore the neighborhood when you don't have a car.

The hotel was easily accessible. The hotel room had modern furnishing, was clean and equipped with coffee/tea making facilities, extra table, armchair etc.The bathroom had a spacious floor-level shower. The staff was friendly. Check-in and check-out have been smooth and fast.

A great Business oriented hotel, clean, neat, modern rooms..good access and parking, efficient staff and a reasonable price. the local old town center is well worth a visit, cute as all get out... a long walk but easy drive with underground parking at the edge of old town. Amsterdam airport is a easy drive in 30 to 40 mins .. if you are dropping off a rental car, there is only one gas station about half way to top up tank... nothing at airport that we could see

This hotel is Ok 3 star hotel, the price is not very high. However do not expect four star Best Western from it. Do not book this for enjoyable, romantic stay or extra service and comfort. It is just functional and fairly clean. The views are uninteresting, the breakfast was slightly limited but all products were good quality. We especially liked the local goat cheese. There is free parking and it is about 3 km from a nice small town of Amersfort (worth a half-day visit).

A very nice hotel, with a warm and friendly welcome at the reception. Made you feel at home. The staff was excellent, helpful and service oriented. Nice big outdoor reastaurant, which was perfect on a warm sunny evening. Relaxing and quiet location. Would recommend to stay here - both for business and holiday travels.

Returned again this year when in the area on business as I was very satisfied last year. once again it was a very satisfactory stay. Large free car park, Good size room well appointed. The call to the room 5 minutes after checking in is a good touch. breakfast was excellent and the evening meal was also very good. Not a very big choice of dishes though.

The hotel looks already very exclusive and classy from the outside. There is a private parking, which is really good. The hotel is situated in a very calm area not far from the town centre. Also the reception makes a very good impression as does all the rest. The personal is very nice and you feel welcome. There is a nice bar as there are also some quiet rooms and places where you can sit down and read or work on your computer. There is also Wifi all around the hotel, which is brilliant as well. The hotel rooms are very spacious, there are possibilities to sit down and there are tea/coffee facilities as well. All in all a brilliant hotel for a very reasonable price. I for sure will return to this hotel.

All you would expect van a best Western Plus hotel. Everything spick and span. Very friendly staff that are ready to help in any way they can. Excellent food, if a little on the expensive side. Plenty of parking space. A beautiful terrace for drinking/eating outside. Good access for the less able. We stayed in one of the luxury rooms. Obviously the designer had no idea what you need in a hotel room. Plenty of space and beautifully finished, but no draws to put things in? A toilet without a wash basin? The wash basin in the room was just 4cm deep, with the result that everything got soaked when you turned the tap on. If you sat on the couch, you were under the TV. No side tables next to the bed. Crazy really. On the other hand the bed was good, and the air-conditioning was the quietest I have ever come across. Overall a nice stay.

Well run business hotel, it has free parking, very attentive and organised staff. The restaurant is nice and room service surprisingly high quality. The outdoor terrace is very pleasant too. Room was clean and comfortable and happily the room air-conditioned. It loses a star because the internet bandwidth is so-so and the decor is old and whilst clean is marked and needs redoing. Plus breakfast is €16! Although they do offer free fruit and coffee in the lobby for those for whom a light start to the day is adequate.

We stayed one night just passing by Amersfoort. The staff was friendly and easy going. It seemed as there was something wrong with the booking but they solved that without discussion. The rooms were reallt nice and quite and the breakfast was huge with lots of choices.

Lovely hotel on the outskirts of town approx 20 mins walk. Nice outside area to enjoy a drink. Room nice clean and roomy. Did not try the restaurant for dinner but did have breakfast there which was very nice and a good selection but a bit pricey at 16.50 euro per person.

The hotel is comfortable and nice. Not sure it is really 4 star but the room was large and the bathroom very good. The in house restaurant served a good steak and sumptuous breakfast. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to find me glue to fix my shoes which needed emergency repairs.

Nice, partly renovated hotel with a very friendly staff. Luckily I had a renovated spacious room. Although the bed appeared to be relatively new, it was far too soft for comfortable and healthy sleep. The breakfast was outstanding, the menu card and the variety of beers at the bar/restaurant were above standard, however prices exceeded average standards as well.

We have been there with a group of 18 people. We all paid the same price for the rooms but we had some totally different room standards. The door closer is broken and the door just slams into the lock. The power socket doesnt work in the bath room and the couldnt fix it in one week. The front desk told me they cant fix it because the hair dryer have to much power for the socket. The shower is leaky so i had after showering always a "pool" in my bathroom. Also the sealing of the shower cabin was dirty/ mouldy. If you book there just he sure that you get a renovated/new room. The breakfast was okay bit i jad also a lot of better ones in this category of hotels. It is not a really bad Hotel it is just overrated.

Loved this hotel room, everything was very spacious and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming. The bathroom facilities were modern and well lit with plenty of space to move around. Couldn't recommend it enough.

I recently stayed here with my wife over a weekend. On arrival the reception and staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room we had was large, comfy and clean. The restaurant was very pleasant and we enjoyed relaxing at the bar after our meal. I used the gym in the morning, which is limited with the amount of machines available, however acceptable. I have only one criticism, which is no reflection on the hotel staff, the noise of the guests walking on wooden floors and closing doors at night did not help for a good sleep.

one night stay for a business trip . Dinner was very good , service was good staff helpful friendly . Room was cold initially but we soon turned up the radiator . Decor is slightly whacky in the rooms but bed v comfortable

You can find this hotel near to the highway on the top of a small hill. There's plenty of room on the parking place. Rooms are clean and well furnished. The hotel is a typical business hotel, but it's suitable for family trips as well. There are no facilities for children. Most striking was the excellent service. ( especially the reception and the manager, the behaviour of the staff of the restaurant was uninterested) We stayed here in order to celebrate a birthday and the staff was taking care of all our needs. Dinner and breakfast are of good quality but not unique. Unfortunately the drinks were expensive.

Amersfoort is a great place to visit and at about a 20 minutes walk from the centre the Berg is a good hotel choice. Rooms are nice and comfortable and wifi is pretty reasonable. Big selection of food for breakfast but stay clear of the scrambled eggs which are very overcooked.

Nothing special really. Food isn't special, breakfast lacks imagination, rooms are tidy but small and noisy. Although they advertise them as spacious. The bathroom is moldy. Staff is friendly, no complaints there. It's fine for a nights sleep on business, but i wouldn't go here to celebrate something. Drinks at the bar are expensive. Wifi is free.

The staff were very friendly and helpful during my stay. The room was clean and nicely furnished. The food and drink in the restaurant was very good, with the steak in particular being excellent. The broad band speed was also pretty good during my stay.I would have no problem recommending this hotel to other travelers.

Just of the E30 and about 3 1/2 hours from Dunkirk this was a lovely, modern hotel just on the outskirts, (1 mile), of the beautiful town. The bedrooms are fabulously laid out in a very original way and the dining rooms, garden area and reception are all nicely done. We were warmly greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist. It is also very good value for money. The locale is leafy and quiet but a short drive to Amersfoort is a must, it is a mini Amsterdam or Bruges with its canals, squares and walking streets.

Stayed at the hotel September 14, 2015. The locations is good, the restarant is cheery and good. The hotel itself is modern. However, the staff are rude and don't really care about the guest comfort or noise level. At 8:00 PM the staff started tearing down and moving equipement from a catering event that was so loud we could not hear the TV at full volume. At 9:00 PM we asked them if they could stop so we could relax a little. They said in 10 minutes. 15 minutes later we called back. The reception staff would not answer the phone. When I left the room to go to the lobby to talk to them (yes it was that loud) the receptionist was standing looking at the phone ringing and not picking it up as so many guests were calling to complain. When I asked if they were going to stop they advised tehy woudl stop when they were done. I asked to talk to the manger and they refused. Eventually the restarant manager came out and and after some heated excehange agreed to quiet the noise. It was really unacceptable for a hotel to disregard the quiet enjoyment of the guests at night. I would not recommend this hotel becuase of that attitude.

The Berghotel is a beautifully situated hotel to be able to explore Holland from, it is near enough Amersfoort to walk, bus or taxi has lovely peaceful surroundings- very green and lush. The staff are very helpful, the rooms each have there own character but v.quiet and v.comfortable beds - I slept like a baby. I travel for a living and thought the continental breakfast generous with egg and bacon and selection of juices, meats and cheese laid out very attractively. Overall a really nice surprise and my group really enjoyed the ambience and service too. Thanks

We arrived in the area on a Sunday afternoon without any reservations and was surprised to find a room was available. It was the best hotel of my four day journey. The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The room was meticiously clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable with more pillows than necessary. The bathroom was clean with sufficient hot water and water pressure. The buffet breakfast service was more than expected, and served in a delightful glass enclosed area. Vehicle parking was right outside and without any fees. The hotel is located in a residential area, so it was pretty quiet, and about 2 miles from the center of Amersfoort. This is a modern hotel with everything one could expect for a very reasonable price. This hotel makes me want to return to the area.

I decided to use my Best Western Rewards credit for this hotel, and it did not disappoint. I read reviews talking about noise in the hotel, but you could have heard a pin drop in my room that's how quiet it was! I didn't hear slamming doors or anything, but perhaps the hotel was empty. Staff were absolutely friendly and professional, and i didn't feel mistreated because I was a low-revenue guest. I had a Deluxe Room which was quite spacious, with a work desk and an oversized chair with a small table. The bathroom was standard but did have a decent bathtub, which was great. I didn't eat there, but the restaurant looked nice, and there's a decent terrace for enjoying good weather. They've only recently joined the BW system, but everyone seemed eager to understand the Rewards system and all the other workings of the BW brand. I would have given it 5 stars, but the only down points were that my tv was poor quality (they tried to fix it), and I couldn't figure out how to turn all the lights off while keeping the electricity in the room on, but that was likely user error. Wifi worked well, but you do need to log in after some inactivity. I had two single beds, which was annoying because a gap developed overnight. There are buses that take you to Central Station in 2 stops, and the quiet beautiful scenery is great for the spirit. Will definitely stay there again.
