Best Western Plus Hovell Tree Inn

Recently a couple of us were required to stay in Albury for business. It was an outstanding choice to stay at. Right across from Noreuil Park, walking distance from the Botanical Gardens and we also walked to a restaurant for dinner from here. We stayed in balcony rooms which gives you the opportunity to enjoy fresh air... although I am a bit embarrassed to say that I had quite forgotten that I had booked balcony rooms until the morning after staying. The rooms will have everything you need for a stay... I have had drinks downstairs on another occasion so I know the restaurant is lovely... but it's also walking distance to other choices. The location being across from the. park is definitely something special. Customer service was outstanding... whilst my co-worker and I were bantering about his awful boss ( and yes, he was joking... I hope) - the staff remained exceptionally professional ... although clearly amused. I slept really well here.

Hovell Tree Inn is an excellent option for overnight stays on way to/ from Melbourne or Adelaide. We have stayed there a number of times over the past decade. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Beds quite comfortable. Compact balcony a nice feature. Location excellent with proximity to Murray river a short walk, and centre of town a short drive. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant is quite good from previous experience but not open on Sunday night when we stayed. No in-room microwave.

Had dinner here on the first night of my stay and it was terrible. The food took a long time to come out and when it did it was so dry and overcooked and was pretty much inedible. The only saving grace was the chips were quite nice. The two waitresses were snarly and couldn't give a toss about the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen. The next day I asked to speak to the Manager to provide some feedback and found that he was even less interested in what I had to say. He came out wearing a baseball cap around the wrong way, an American style basketball top, pair of shorts and flip flops. He made some disparaging comment about the name tag I was wearing before walking away during our brief discussion.

Accommodation was comfortable but the food was inedible, and the manager was offensively rude when this was politely mentioned the next day, Also, the service staff in the restaurant had a poor attitude,

I was so grateful for such amazing staff as we had a problem with out booking which the staff sorted out with out any stress. We had Dinner in the restaurant which was lovely and they had so many gluten free meal options which was such a bonus. The beds were so comfortable to sleep in I almost over slept my alarm. All in all fantastic place to stay and can 't wait to stay with them again

I enjoy staying there, have done quite a few times now, great location close to everywhere I want to go, good value for money, kind friendly staff, good parking, tidy place to stay and excellent service, thank you.

Stuffed up my booking. Booked 3 nights but they only registered 1. Manager was horrible to deal with. Not helpful and offered no compensation. I was on my own to sort out another hotel. Grant needs to find a new vocation.

Best Western Hovell Tree was an excellent stay. Quiet rooms & large in size, very comfortable beds, very clean, central location, friendly staff, great undercover off street parking. Totally recommend.

Absolutely loved this place! Unfortunately we were only here overnight however, the staff were incredible on check in. The young lady and gentleman/manager on when we checked in around 940pm, were extremely friendly, informative and welcoming. Well done to management with the staff. Great first impression. The rooms was super clean, large and spacious. Parking was right under our room which was handy. The bathroom was large, beds comfy. Everything we wanted for our stay. We will be back and hopefully will get to enjoy the pool, gym and restaurant.

We reserved a Deluxe Queen with Balcony - and we weren't disappointed! The room was very large and came with a fully equipped kitchen (including washing machine & dryer). Free covered parking for the car in the annexe where our room was. We had dinner and breakfast in the small restaurant in the main building - OK, but nothing special. (The restaurant could have had a better menu & better service, but that didn't detract from our stay.) I would definitely stay here again just on the basis of the comfort of our room!

We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment which was great. Very clean and well presented. Beds were amazing, allowing for a really comfortable nights sleep. Staff were helpful and very polite. Had dinner in their Dining Room - started off with what we thought was an unusual dish - lamb spring rolls. They were delicious (would love to have the recipe !!) All in all, our stay at the BW Hovell Tree Inn was indeed one of the highlights of our trip away.

Most uncomfortable stay in any motel that we have stayed at. Tv does not work if you move about the room.. the basin in bathroom leaks water all over the tiles. Tiles in room very slippery. Bed most uncomfortable and no lounge to sit in.

Very nice staff and clean room. Nice big walk in shower. Food was good and Room service on time for both dinner and breakfast. Under cover parking. Close to shops but not really walking distance. Handy stop off overnight before another 4 hr drive home.

Our room was well appointed, all of the staff were excellent and very accommodating. The restaurant was fantastic with food 10/10. We travelled for family and have stayed at the Hovell Tree Inn before, the facility is always of a high standard and well worth the money. I would definitely recommend staying here if anyone is ever in the Albury region.

Perfectly presented room. Very clean and well appointed. Well equipped with ample beverage requirements. Microwave oven and coffee machine are included; very handy room appliances. Modern furniture. Peaceful, quiet night for sleeping on comfy bed. Excellent walk-in shower and bathroom amenities. This facility is better than many other capital city accommodations. Excellent value. Highly recommended by a fastidious traveller. Will stay again.

We have just eaten at The Hovell Bar & Grill and had THE best steak. Compliments to the chef and staff. We would have put photos up but enjoyed the meal so much we forgot to take photos. The Hovell Tree Inn is a lovely place to stay with clean and comfortable rooms with a nice outlook. We are definitely staying here again each time we visit Albury. Very happy we found it.

the hotel lift was not working so we had to carry our bags up from the first floor so that was not good. The shower had some mould in it and could use a good scrub. The rooms are roomy and the beds are comfy, its well equipped including champagne and wine glasses etc. Bit of a walk up to the main street which was a shame I thought it was closer, All in all a very average motel for the prices they are charging in my opinion

King room was a little dated but was very clean, comfortable and roomy. Although a small fridge and freezer not working very well. Room lighting was extremely poor. Needs extra lighting. The shower screen or lack of it allowed water to flood the bathroom. Because of this you need to mop up water with towels and require room service to service room daily to provide extra towels. Construction happening opposite our room on the street so we were also woken early. Booked multiple stays based on this motel advertising a gym but arrived to find no gym in operation due to previous flooding. Amazing service from reception staff. Elevator access and trolley cart allowed us to easily bring our luggage into and from the room. Dinner at the restaurant was first class! Absolutely amazing service, food, flavours and presentation. Really nice stay, just a few things that fell below expectations that if improved would make this stay 5 star.

Upgraded to a room with a kitchenette. The only cooking item of any note was a microwave. So I paid an extra $100 a night to have a microwave in my room. Seriously?? Their web site promotes the onsite gym. Well actually it hasn't functioned for several months. Misleading advertising I feel

We stayed at the Best Western Hovel Tree Inn recently and were pleasantly surprised with how nice our stay was. It is a really nice place and the staff was really friendly and helpful. We only stayed 1 night but we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Albury.

We returned to our favourite location to celebrate our 47th Wedding Anniversary. Great location, quiet location, great rooms/apartments, awesome restaurant with generous meals which are fresh and well presented. Staff remembered the reason for our visit and made us feel very special.

Great location, beautiful park and river walk across the road, Public pool 5 min casual walk. Great spot will be back for sure, I use Albury as a stop over going up to the Snowy Mountains in Winter for snow skiing and summer I ride my Motorcycle through the Mountains. This Hotel has everything I need for a great 1 night stop over.

The staff were very helpful and provided great service. The room was very clean and comfortable, We didn't get to use the restaurant but meal options looked terrific. The Pool facilities were great relief during the hot weather.

Booked the executive king with balcony and what a great stay it was - so clean and staff so friendly ! A perfect bed for a wonderful night's sleep ! High recommended if you are looking for all the amenities - Nespresso, microwave, modern shower and the perfect king bed/sheets ! Has a microwave/mini fridge and table seating for an in-house meal. Perfect overnight stay!

We always stay at this hotel when travelling Syd - Melb and return. It has undercover parking and easy access to rooms. The rooms are modern, the bed is extremely comfortable, the bar/restaurant is excellent and has a great wine list. jWhat more is there to like?

There are plenty of great reviews here but I'm sure none of them were after staying in room 56 (Queen and either 2 singles or a king). It's on level 2 of the second building. It is a terrible room and should either be turned into a storage room or booked at a reduced rate explaining the window situation - but not until the a/c has been fixed (filter cleaned?). It's basically a windowless room, with only a frosted window that opens 5cm onto an enclosed airwell / internal tunnel leading from the carpark to the sky, resulting in quite the prison-esque vibe. It is oppressive and airless, with accompanying stale smell. Our a/c unit was completely ineffectual and after having it on for 2 hours my mildly asthmatic daughter started having trouble breathing (filter issue??) so I took her for a walk outside. In the fresh air she recovered. Back in our room she was wheezing again. I spoke to reception who gave me 2 fans. We opened our 5cm air slit window and left the fans on and a/c off which was the best we could do until guests started leaving at 6am - yes all the sound travels from the carpark up through the airwell. 2 stars for friendly reception staff and the clean, modern bathroom.

I am usually very fussy about the cleaness of a hotel bathroom. Best Western Plus has the cleanest and nicest bathroom. Bed is comfortable. It is convenient to have a restuarant in the hotel and have dinner after a long drive without walking around to search for food.

We had our wedding at Hovell Tree and most of our friends and family stayed here with us for a few days. It is a quiet area, everything was tidy and having a small balcony was a great bonus. The staff were all very accommodating too.

Always enjoy staying the staff are great Sally and her crew do a brilliant job, always ready help out if and when you need it. there bar is good the dinning is pretty good for dinner, would like to see dinning open for breakfast.

This motel is old and on other floors are old and worn. The place needs painting, refurbishing, new carpet and better lighting. The rooms are quite dark -- they also need a refit and bringing up to date. The bed was OK and comfortable.

Stayed in Albury for a business trip at short notice. Easy booking and check- in experience. Room was clean. Bed slightly too soft for my liking (but that's just me). Pretty well set up for business travel but would have liked the capability to use the TV as a second monitor. Breakfast was very good but did not use the restaurant in the evening

Stayed in their 2 b/r Apartment, 2 couples, seperates bedrooms, seperste ensuites, joint kitchen and lounge. Very clean and well decorated. Comfortable beds. Small outdoor swimming pool. Has restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very polite, attentive and professional staff.

I definitely recommend this hotel, lovely staff, clean, comfortable, nothing was a problem! Plenty of room to relax inside or on the balcony listening to the birds. We would definitely stay there again and on the second floor! Great employees!!

Had a one night stay here last night and cannot rate it high enough, the reception staff were fantastic, the room great, exceptionally clean. We did eat at the restaurant, the food was delicious, a bit of a mix up with my dish but still great. We are staying on our return journey and looking forward to it

I had to come up from Melbourne for my brother's funeral and staying at Best Western Plus Hovell Tree Inn just made my trip easier. I loved the service and my room and at all times the staff were so helpful to meet my needs. The room was spotlessly clean and as I feel the cold it was great to be warm at all times. Thank You

One of the best Inns / hotels / motels in which my wife and I have stayed. Very friendly staff. Extremely clean, neat and tidy. Great value for money. Will stay here again on our regular trips through Albury.

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel when I travelled for work. I liked the hospitality and the management of Mr Raj. Very friendly staff, good food. All services were good. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who travel to Warrnambool.

Booked in for 4 nights, but not happy, staff ok, room ok, but lot of kids running up and down corridors and slamming doors, noisy. Bathroom renovated but shower water pressure is poor. Fair bit of traffic noise too. Reception should have some city maps. 5/10 from me.

Stayed 2 nights in a family apartment, room ultra spacious, clean and everything you would need in a self contained apartment. All staff from checkin to cleaners were extremely friendly and looked like they actually enjoyed their job, easy parking plus easy to find, highly recommend…

During our short stay for a medical appointment for my newborn, we arrived late and we're greeted with friendly service. As it was winter & too cold to venture out with a newborn we were able to order room service for dinner & breakfast. The food was served warm & in a timely manner not to mention was absolutely delicious! Upon checkout we were also greeted with exceptional service. The location was great to where we needed to go. I highly recommend this hotel especially if you have a family as they had all the amenities! I will definitely be choosing to stay here again for our next stay in Albury !!!!

All staff we met were very friendly, particularly Andy at Reception. The Hotel is in a quiet location and is a flat 10 minute walk to the city centre. Car parking is on site and undercover but not secure. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was large, clean and comfortable with all the necessary kitchen tools. We will definitely stay here again.

Had a very enjoyable stay due to spacious apartment which was well equipped. The staff are also very friendly. The wi-fi had good speed. Very little to fault, other than the timing of the room servicing was inconsistent: either too early in morning 9am or too late in afternoon 3pm.

I arrived after kitchen closed but Meg and the kitchen team made me dinner and kept it ward for me - I left before breakfast officially started and they got me breakfast to my room! And they loaned me an iPhone charger. It was wonderful service and I highly recommend staying here.

Very clean room. Staff were helpful. Lift to upper level was great. Undercover parking but low clearance not secure but adequate. Modern room with all you need. Toiletries provided. Nice park across the road on the Murray river. Food outlets close by. Would stay again for sure. Reasonable price so it should be good

A good hotel that is reasonably priced. Arrived and was checked by friendly staff. The room was a good size and was clean and modern. Bed was comfortable and in room ammenities were good. I would definitely stay again if in the area.

I would highly recommend this motel. The room was spacious and very clean. A good selection of teas and coffee in the room. Take your bathers as it has a spa and sauna to relax in. The food is delicious and large portions.

Highly recommend this hotel without reservation, friendly staff, very good facilities, undercover parking and close to the city centre, .If you are looking to stay in an upmarket hotel then you cannot go past the Hovell Tree.

After a 9 hour drive from the mid-north coast of NSW this was a perfect choice for a stop-over - an extremely comfortable bed in a quiet and handy location. And, with a very good lounge/bar in the hotel, the convenience of not having to leave the hotel for a meal was an added bonus.

I have said many times, the BW Hovell Tree Inn is the place to stay and will continue to do so. The Hotel is clean and the Staff are excellent at thier job. The Restaurant will still give most big Cities a run for their money with excellent food and presentation. The Chef has the ability to put together local flavours and his new menu included old favourites and some new dishes. I highly recommend his choices.

Motels have an age problem, what was built in the 80s and 90s need a complete re-furbish and fit out. If that does not occur the design is dated and the room rate drops. A complete re-build is required. Most Architecture from the 70s to the present day is bland and without imagination.

We stayed here twice on a road trip as we travelled in each direction. The location is very good with a short walk to Album's main shopping centre and the botanical gardens - we walked the distance easily. The rooms are a large. The bathroom was very large. Both were very very clean. The price is reasonable on weekends and very good on weekdays. I can't comment on the room service or restaurant as we ate in town. The car parking spaces in the second building are very narrow. There is a reasonable chance of accidental damage as car doors open. It may be worth parking on the street.

Easy parking under cover, full room service food was just ok, book early in restaurant if there is a function on, has a lift so easy to get bags into room, front desk staff were friendly even though they were under the pump account a function on, all up great overnight stay.

A geat overnight stay by the river. The motel had great facilities including a laundry and restaurant . It is nearby a lovely riverside park including a wonderful cafe and historic site. A top spot!

Very clean and comfortable. Lovely green outlook from room. Minimal road noise. Good room service menu. Nice bathroom amenities. Long trek from car to room if mobility impaired. Staff did not wear masks, lift very small.

We totally enjoyed our stay. The staff were great and all so friendly. Our dinner was superb. I highly recommend the prawn spaghetti it was to die for!!!! Everything so clean and tidy. Would highly recommend staying there.

This is now my point of stay in Albury every month from now on. Great value staff are great and room service is high quality. Easy check-in and room had all the amenities and bed very comfortable. Will be staying again.

I recently stayed at Hovell Tree Inn. It was an excellent and quiet stay. The ease and service at both check in and check out was great. The room was lovely and quiet and had everything I needed. I enjoyed using the back stairs and it was quite easy to do so even though there was a lift option available. Thank you for a great stay!

I booked this as a stop over on my trip to Sydney. It was nice and clean. Bed was super comfy. The room was roomy. Loved that it had a balcony. Also a coffee machine with a milk frother. Love that I could relax and have coffee before I headed off on my trip. The only thing is the fridge didn't really work its also really small. Apparently this is the case for other rooms the people in the pool all said the same thing. I had to toss my road trip food as it just wasn't cold enough. But otherwise I would definitely stay there again. Also great location you can walk to the main street.

We booked last minute for boxing day and during the booking the staff member was extremely helpful providing options and additional information. When we arrived the reception was clean and welcoming, the staff were well spoken and helpful. The room was large, comfortable and well set out. The kids loved the pool and spa areas

Booked into here on our way to Bathurst to break up our road trip. The staff were efficient but not particularly friendly. Walls of the hotel were paper thin and you could hear peoples conversations and TV's blaring out late into the night. The room was clean but the fridge was ill fitted so you could not open the door properly. Nice view of the park.

Conveniently located but the walls were a bit thin and some of the residents a bit noisy. Rooms a reasonable size even if there was no bath. Check in staff were friendly and helpful and there is free wi-fi.

Room was clean and tidy. Bed was nice comfortable. Hotel is located in a great location. We stayed as a family so had plenty of room for the 4 of us with a king bed and queen bed. The king bed was 2 singles together so had a little lump in the middle but was still comfortable. Will defiantly be staying here again

We were very happy with this motel and would certainly stay here again. The room was a good size and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was very convenient having a nice restaurant at the motel.

Nothing special here, just another stock standard motel. King bed was two single beds pushed together creating a hard ridge down the middle. Air con made noise throughout the night. TV was old style so no Netflix for the kids.

Clean , Friendly, Warm .Excellent food and helpful service . This is our go to Albury accomodation and will remain so with easy parking proximity to river walks and botanical gardens .Good facilities.We enjoyed our stay

The people behind the front desk were extremely helpful from the beginning and when we had to cut our stay short because of Covid restrictions in Sydney could not have been kinder and went out of their way to help us . Its not in the centre of town but there is plenty of parking on site and in town so its really not a problem . It is very close to the Murray river and associated parks and also the Albury Botanical Gardens which are lovely . There is a very easy and pretty path running along the river. Our breakfast was very good although it had to be room service because of having to isolate we have eaten in the dining room before which has a nice garden outlook . All in all our go to accomodation in Albury and I'm sure it will remain so

This was my first stay after trying a few different motel's around the Albury area. It reminded me of a capital city Hotel from the check in experience, the quality & comfort of the rooms and then the excellent restaurant for dinner. As a regular regional traveller I would thoroughly recommend this motel and will definitely be returning thanks to the exceptional service from Adam & Chris. Thank you, Ken Taylor

When we travel the most important part is to get a good night's rest so that we can enjoy the next day. The hotel rooms were spacious, quiet and equipped with a comfortable bed. The shower room was not cramped and the water hot. Meals were excellent. All the you could ask for.

Such terrible sound proofing in the room. Could hear the room above having a shower, going to the toilet and the guests in the room next door talking and their TV. Room is very basic and hotel needs renovating. The guest entrance is horrible and lift sounds like it's on its last legs. Do not recommend

This hotel is just wonderful. It was great to check in to clean, comfortable accommodation after a long day of driving. Our room was large and well equipped and the bathroom was very spacious. Super clean. Great amenities. The restaurant was excellent and the staff in all areas were friendly, polite and certainly an asset to the business. We'll definitely return.

The hotel provides most services you will need: swimming pool, spa, internet, bar, restaurant, room service, gym etc Walking distance from 1 excellent cafe and 3 restaurants. We stayed here twice and most likely will stay here again, in the near future

The staff were very friendly, professional and made sure that Covid-safe protocols were always in place. The room was very clean and the bed and bedding were perfectly comfortable which meant a great nights sleep.

Reception was less than helpfull / rude and not prepared to help at all. Asked for directions from reception to our room and got weird garbled response that made no sense at all. Paid for a full breakfast and would only recieved cereal and toast. Cheapskates Do not go there.

We booked here for a one night stopover on the drive from Melbourne to Canberra. After a long day travelling, we were grateful to find it was a spacious, clean and quiet room. It was more like a suite than a room, as it came with a sofa and an area with a bench, separate sink and microwave oven . The King sized bed was very comfortable. The bathroom appeared recently renovated with a big shower recess, plenty of space for toiletries and extra large towels. We enjoyed an a la carte breakfast in the hotel restaurant with a lovely view of the park. I am not sure if ordering your food was usual practice or due to coronavirus restrictions on hotels providing buffet meals. In any event, the waitress was efficient and polite and the food - scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for him and homemade granola, fresh fruit and yogurt for me - was delicious. We really couldn't fault our experience overall and would certainly stay here again.

Friendly staff, great rooms and undercover parking. The motel is in a quiet location opposite parkland and easy access to the city. There are function rooms, spa pool and gym. Dining and bar facilities are of a high standard.

We had the best stay here. Came for my Nephew's wedding and stayed for 3 nights in a 2 bedroom. Room was fantastic, couldn't fault, beds super comfortable and very quiet. The team at the front desk were great and free undercover parking was a dream. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Albury, no need to go any further. We'll definitely be back!

First time staying here. Very well presented rooms with all mod cons. Excellent helpful and friendly staff. Very good meals regarding price and quality. About a 10 minute walk to the main part of town or a 5 min walk to Murray River parklands.

This was a perfect stay, from the lovely reception staff who were under the pump but rushed no one and never stopped smiling, to the incredible restaurant staff at dinner making it an experience for all patrons, to the modern seemingly recently renovated bathroom in my hotel room. The staff were the highlight of the hotel. Clean, comfortable and the rooms are larger than normal. Good restaurant on site which make it easy. Away from highway. ample undercover parking. Recommended.

I have stayed here several times. The rooms are always immaculately clean, the staff are friendly and very helpful and the restaurant has never served me a meal I didn't love. Possibly the most accommodating, consistent hotel I have stayed at.

Having tried several other motels we have settled on the Best Western Hovell Tree Inn in Albury as having the best combination of facilities and a licensed restaurant with a good wine list. It also provides undercover parking with easy access to a lift taking you almost to your door. The staff are good and just friendly enough.

We were travelling and needing a place to rest for the night after a long day. Clean, comfortable, room service for a late evening meal. Affordable. Great service and close to the park for a morning run/walk.

I have been lucky to have traveled for work for a few years and the Best Western have made me feel like I'm special and comfortable every time. The rewards system is excellent and I have booked using my points a few times with ease. Even for a family holiday in New Zealand.

We stayed at the Hovell Tree Inn from January 14 to January 17. The staff were friendly (Sandra at breakfast was exceptional, she went above and beyond to ensure we were happy). The breakfast itself was divine, generous servings of delicious food. The bed was extremely comfortable. We'll be a returning customer on our next trip to Albury.

Very friendly staff and clean and spacious room. We enjoyed the dinner in the restaurant. Balcony with nice views. The only problem we met is the water-leaking of the air conditioning but we managed it.

Lovely big rooms with comfy beds, walk in shower and all within walking distance to Dean Street. Lovely outdoor pool with spa as well as an Indoor spa in the fitness centre. Friendly staff and undercover parking. Good value.

This is the best hotel in Albury. Great location (opposite river, parks and Flying Fruit Fly Circus), excellent rooms with very comfortable beds, high quality menu in the dining room, friendly bar and efficient welcoming staff.

We booked a 2 bed 2 bath apt & met up here with family from Victoria. Lovely staff. Great location. Spacious updated apt. A couple of cleaning/maintenance issues sorted quickly by staff. Given covid situation I would not expect to find anything left by previous guests but that was not the case. Overall happy. Found lighting dim in this particular apt as no natural light in living areas. Bedrooms both had windows & big balconies though.

Having escaped Melbourne after Covid-19 restrictions eased l had treated my partner to a getaway. Room was overrated having booked a spa suite with leak in spa flooding bathroom, hot and cold water plumbed incorrect, bed too soft and made to very poor standard, air-conditioning noisy requiring service. Staff not friendly not wanting to acknowledge disappointments raised.

The hotel is well positioned across the road and a short walk from the river. We had a room with a little balcony which was very clean and comfortable. Having a lovely restaurant on site was also a big bonus and staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The only downside for us was our room overlooked the carpark and road and was quite noisy - especially with a few trucks leaving from the car park very early in the morning.

Stayed one night which I had booked a Queen Room & on checking was very pleased when told I'd been given an upgrade to a king. The room was very spacious, impeccably clean and well appointed. The bar/restaurant is lovely addition and thenfree parking plentyful. Overall, a great place to stay.

We come back time and time again for the amazing food and service! The room are always clean and of high quality. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. We had a wedding reception here 3 years ago and had the best night!

Very pleasant overnight stay. Room was well appointed and spotlessly clean. Bed really comfortable, lovely warm extra blankets, great big fluffy towels. In house Restaurant closed on a Sunday night unfortunately so we enjoyed delicious Thai from local restaurant. Motel highly recommended.

This place is not a Hovel its a great Hovell Tree Inn. opposite the murry river and A beautiful park it is also right across the road from the Flying Fruit Fly Circus. Due to cove the restaurant was closed but it looked great. Breakfast was great with a great variety. All staff were courteous and friendly. Highly reccommend.

All appliances were dusty, the tile in the bathroom was chipped, the toilet was broken, the shower didnt closer properly, i found a lemon under my bed and a water bottle behind the tv. Our dvd player was broken and had to get a replacement, the paint on the back of the door was also chipped. Wouldnt recommend if you're fussing, we had no other option for location.

Driving back to Sydney, 1st stop over, Great room & price, Lovely Dinner in restaurant, Great breakfast in our room. Best of all the quick friendly check in & check out and under cover parking which close proximity to the Lift for Baggage.

Spacious clean bright rooms with small balconies very near the Murray River parklands. Good restaurant. Good water pressure although the plumbing was a tad wonky. Helpful staff but wanted to charge $50 for noon checkout on a quiet day. (May have been a pandemic related staff issue, fair enough.) Would stay here again.

Location close to town centre. staff were helpful and room was comfortable. Free under cover parking which was great. I would definitely stay here again next time I am back for work or with the family.

Then when I asked for a replacement glass, I received it very promptly(thank you Emma). Sadly the second glass was dirtier than the original? Then you use the facilities & there is several hair strands on the floor? Then you go to wash your hands and the soap dispenser doesn't work? Then management is defensive when you report the issues & they slam a glass down in front if you? Not very professional in my view. Worth a second chance? No

On my way to Melbourne from Queensland had a overnight stay at this hotel arrived in Albury was raining very heavy this hotel had undercover parking which was appreciated with the weather even though they had a conference being held there they still had a room available the room was very clean and tidy the staff were friendly and helpful had breakfast there next morning this was as good as you could get highly recommend this place

Air conditioning in room was faulty. A move to another room found the air conditioning unit barely working at all on a very hot night. We felt basic maintenance was lacking and receptionist appeared disinterested when we explained. Otherwise, room was comfortable and well appointed

Very disappointed with service on a recent 2 hour visit. Checked in early evening only to have to leave within 2 hours as bushfires were threatening our trip home. Was happy to pay our night's accomodation despite the beds not even being sat on, given the circumstances. However, requests to refund our pre-purchased breakfast (x 5 people!) for the next morning were refused. Emails and phone calls not returned. Most disappointed in the greediness. Will not return.

Best Western Plus Hovell Tree Inn was "The Best" we had a great overnight stay, on arrival we found very friendly staff greeting us at the front desk, as well as in the dining room. Rooms found to be clean spacious and comfortable with most of the expected conveniences found in one spot. Would have liked to have had USB charging ports in power points for phone charging. Great safe Car parking on site and convenient to front desk when checking out back secure entry to gym, Laundry and lift to get up to rooms. Room numbers clearly marked for clear finding. Over all great place to stay and highly recommend it.

A spacious beautifully furnished room with a balcony surrounded by greenery. We were very pleased to discover the motel had a restaurant downstairs which was a very pleasant space. The restaurant overlooked the garden. Our meals were delicious. We love the location- opposite the beautiful park on the banks of the Murray river containing our favourite river view cafe.

This was our second visit and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit again We checked in early, parked undercover which was great on a hot day and we had dinner in the restaurant at the front. Food was excellent the restaurant spotlessly clean together with an excellent room also extremely clean. Last time we had a suite however this time there was no option for a suite however the queen room was still terrific. Another great stay thank you to all the super friendly staff.

Alway's stay at the Hovell tree Inn when in the Albury / Wodonga area, the rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the showers work great. The restaurant provides cold beer or a nice red, good food and service, ticks all the boxes for that business trip.

We had a couple of hiccups soon arrival, but the helpful staff ensured our problems were rectified swiftly and without hassle. Thank you for helping us feel comfortable for the duration of our stay. My colleague and I stayed here with 6 teenage boys who were competing in a competition at the tennis centre across the road. Not only are the facilities excellent, but the staff are amazing too. They were so friendly and helpful, as well as being accommodating to a school group. We are so thankful! I would definitely stay here again. Breakfast is fantastic, the pool/spa/sauna/gym are also top notch.

Stayed at the Hovell Tree Inn for one night. Upon arrival Emma was lovely and checked us in. We were upgraded to the executive king room which was perfect and we were so very appreciative of the surprise. The room was spacious and immaculately clean. The bed was so very comfortable and we had a wonderful nights sleep. We had everything we needed in the room. The Nespresso coffee machine was a great touch to the room. We arrived on a 40deg day but the aircon kept us comfortable during the day and throughout the night. The complimentary late checkout was very much appreciated. This is a beautiful Hotel and not to be missed when in Albury. It has a lovely restaurant, we didn't dine there, but the menu looked absolutely delicious. We had a a studio with twin beds. It was comfortable and clean with all the expected ammenties. We didnt realise we had to request a slip mat for the shower. Wifi was limited to 500mB and this wasnt available to us. The check in process caused a few problems.

Stayrd 1 night only as lsst night o coach trip. Room beautiful, very very comfy bed and huuuge bathroom. Quiet room. Had buffet tea on arrival about 7pm. Took food away after initial serving and brought out desert quickly then rushed out. A little disappointing. Breakfast was complete opposite. Heaps of food, cereal, breads, jiuces, tea n coffee. Opposite park in the Murray River.

Well positioned and close to the lovely park which has a great cafe for breakfast.. Bar menu in house on Sunday was delicious and very efficiently served by a gentleman who attended to all the tables like a whirling dervish whilst remaining cheerful and efficient.

From booking through checking in and out the entire stay was effortless. We stayed three nights and booked a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen and it was clean and well appointed with no surprises. The hot tub and sauna was a welcome treat after a busy day.

I was on a business trip, as usual, heading to Victoria and was delayed en-route by holiday traffic. Getting nearer to Albury a decision was made to overnight. A quick call to Hovell Tree and a welcoming voice confirmed a room was available. On arrival late in the afternoon confirmed the welcoming voice at reception and warmly welcomed. Room confirmed and all settled in withing 20 minutes. We were allocated one of the newer suites, an addition to the location since my last visit. The room was very well appointed and very, very comfortable. Room service available and delivered efficiently, even though a number of tourist bus passengers were staying at Hovell Tree that night. Public Holiday and no restaurant open. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have encountered in more recent times. Breakfast in the Hotel restaurant next morning, very well received, fresh and well presented by both Chef and Old friend Server. We changed our plans for the week and booked for the return journey and was allocated the same room and got a chance to sample Dinner in the restaurant. The Chef had changed since my last visit, but excellent meals, fresh, tasty and very well presented with lots of good choices. Been there done that and will do it again and again. Very pleasant stay in a large, clean comfortable room with a quiet balcony. Staff at reception were very pleasant and helpful. Modern bathroom and excellent bedding. The motel is close to the centre, has a range of facilities, and there is a nice parkland opposite. Access from the covered parking to the lift is easy. The grounds are very nicely maintained as well.

Despite often staying in Albury, this was our first stay at the Hovell Tree Inn. I had thought it was better to stay closer to Dean Street, but I've changed my mind. It was really quiet and it was great to walk across the road to have an early morning walk along the river. The staff are friendly, the breakfast is great and the rooms are nice as well as quiet. The mattress felt like it was ready to be replaced, but it wasn't too bad. We'll stay there from now when we visit Albury.

We stayed at this motel recently for the second time for two nights. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and spacious with the usual coffee making facilities and a modern bathroom with walk in shower. The restaurant food is outstanding and recommended over other Albury/Wodonga restaurants we have tried. Wine is reasonably priced for a licenced restaurant and the menu is quite innovative. The spacious bar has a happy hour each evening. The cooked breakfast is generous and enjoyable. The staff are very efficient and friendly. Under cover car parking is provided and it is an easy walk into the main street of Albury. Be aware the motel is two story but a lift operates between floors and the car park. Although the motel is on the main road into Albury the rooms are quiet with no noticeable traffic noise. I thoroughly recommend the Best Western Plus Hovell Tree Inn for an enjoyable stay in Albury.

As frequent travellers through Albury we have staued at many motels in the area. The Best Western Hovell Tree is now our favourite. The service was excellent (very friendly helpfull check in staff, knowledgeable and attentive restaurant staff), the location was great (accross the road from the river and large park, and only a few mins walk to the centre of town), the rooms were clean and a good size, the bed was comfortable, all in all everything you need for a great stay. Will definitely stay there again!

Emma the event manager and her staff helped us to enjoyed a wonderful night with their professional and dedicated service. The room was beautiful and welcoming, our rooms modern and super clean. I stayed at the Hovell Tree Inn several years ago, in this time it has had a complete revamp. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The restaurant has genuinely lovely food, which is good when you are on a business trip. The facilities are fantastic with a gym and spa. I will definitely stay at The Hovell Tree again when I am next in Albury.

From the moment you walk in , the restaurant gives off a lovely relaxing vibe. Staff very friendly and attentive, in no time at all we had our drinks & ordered our meals . We had a three course meal, every course was amazing. In particular I had the sticky salmon on wild rice & cauliflower, it was excellent couldn't fault it . My husband had the Chicken Parmigiana with oven roasted veggies, which he really enjoyed as well . I also recommend the sticky date pudding it was delicious! it also had a thin layer of toffee & ice cream on top , it was by far our favorite dish of the night . Overall we had a fantastic night , our meals were also very reasonably priced , big thumbs up !

Stopped here for a couple nights when going to and from Melbourne. Very clean, big rooms had everything I needed. Checked in late with no problems. Close to shopping centers and Restaurants. Quiet location.Will be staying here again in the future.

We were a group of family members 20 in total hadn't seen each other for 1 year lots of laughing and talking 20 people at once no swearing or screaming yet we were told by one team member that the people behind us complained we were too loud and to keep our noise down we apologised and moved to bar lounge area this team member then said hope you lot aren't going to be loud here

Room was brilliant - very pleasant and unexpected surprise - was anticipating far lower quality than what we were presented with when we opened the door based on the rate we paid. Food in the restaurant was first class but service a little slow.

From the moment we entered the hotel we felt welcome and and relaxed. All the staff were polite and professional, the rooms clean and comfortable. We had a lovely dinner and then sat by the fire enjoying a drink and chat. The next morning we enjoyed a cooked breakfast along with our choice of cakes, toast, yoghurt, fruit salad and more. We arrived in Albury late in the evening, no booking and tried the Hovell Tree Inn. Their service from the outset was terrific. Would highly recommend staying here. The food and service was second to none!

We chose to stay at The Novell Tree as a stop over when driving to VIC to pick up our puppy. Was great. Turned up at 9.30pm they suggested great places for us to grab a bite to eat at that hour and did not disappoint. Great rooms, great price.

Stayed here for a belated birthday stay. Check In was very friendly. Upon entering the Executive King room it was absolutely beautiful and spacious. Everything was to a very high standard. The room was immaculately clean and finally after staying in many different other hotels the king bed wasn't one that has 2 doubles zipped together. The bed was so comfortable. My Husband who isn't too fussed about beds in hotels commented that it was definitely one of the best beds he has slept in. The room had everything we needed and whilst is was a cold night outside the aircon kept us warm all night. Emma at reception was friendly and arranged a late checkout and she was lovely the next morning making sure we had a nice stay. We didn't dine in the restaurant but we will be definitely back and will eat there next time. Thanks Emma and all the lovely staff for making our stay a wonderful one.

Every time we are in Albury we choose to stay here. It's consistently high standard is to be commended. The staff are professional and friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable with reverse cycle aircon to keep you cool in summer and toasty warm in the cold winter months. They have free wifi which is great for business travellers, or like us for children who can't live without it!! There is a pool, spa, sauna and gym onsite that we have used in the past...the pool is great in summer with the kids. The restaurant never fails to disappoint. Entrees, mains and desserts are all amazing and staff fabulous hence we always eat at the restaurant when staying. Highly recommend staying here when in the Albury Wodonga area.

I didn't have a booking for my stay, felt tired driving back from Sydney to Melbourne and decided to stop for the night. The staff organised me a room straight away and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Had a fantastic dinner in their restaurant and a wonderful nights sleep, refreshed and ready for the rest of my drive home. Couldn't recommend this place more highly!

The property was very pleasing to stay at. The property is within easy walking distance to shopping areas and restaurants. Our room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. We have made another booking to stay at this property in January 2020.

We just needed a place to rest our heads for a night on our way to Sydney, and the Hovell Tree Inn exceeded our expectations. We got a two bedroom apartment for our family of 5, and it was very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Obviously recently renovated, it was modern, clean and spacious. Very comfortable beds! As we arrived after 8pm and left by 8am, we didn't get to use any facilities much to the dismay of our children who would have liked to spend longer there. Checking in and out was super quick and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Beds were so comfortable, very spacious unit and cleaned daily which we loved. Onsite facilities worked for us as a family and a group girls basketball team. The location of the accommodation was perfect. Will stay again.

I stayed for a cold weekend in Albury and thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Best Western A friendly check in, undercover parking and a super clean renovated room It was a suite with a balcony and kitchen plus 2 big televisions and plenty of comfort and space I tried out the gym small but well fitted and enjoyed a quiet breakfast in the restaurant Too cold for the pool but it looked good as did the inside spa. Overall an excellent stay and I hope to return again

I've stayed here between 5 and 10 times now, at least, (which speaks for itself, I wouldn't come back if it wasn't good). Reception, bar and restaurant staff are always very friendly and efficient. The place has a family atmosphere. Rooms are very clean, and larger than average, with apparently recently renovated bathrooms. There's plenty of undercover parking, which is great in bad or very hot weather). The restaurant is very good. Even on Sundays and public holidays, when the menu is slightly restricted, there's still plenty to choose from. Beer and wine list is very satisfactory. Recommended.

We chose the Best Western to go with a trusted name and the Hovell Tree Inn surpassed expectations on every level. As the weather was cold we also wanted accommodation with on site meals and the restaurant was superb.

Having a sink toaster and microwave in a room is a big plus. The room was very spacious and had a table and chairs as well as a sofa. It's hard to find this in some of the motel chains. The bathroom was beautifully tiled.

The Inn was extremely clean, easy access to rooms, restaurant, carpark. Very good location, next to a park a short walk to the centre. On the first night I could hear slight snoring from the room next door. I am a light sleeper.

The Hovell Tree Inn Albury is a lovely accommodation in a great location. perfect for families. Nice spacious rooms. Very helpful staff. And easy parking options. If we were to return to Albury we would definitely stay again. We had breakfast in the dining room and it was all very nice and the breakfast attendant was especially patient with our loud excited children.

My partner and I were heading to a wedding in Albury and chose to stay at the Best Western Plus. We were lucky enough to stay in suite 17 which was spacious, clean and well appointed. Our trip would have been simply satisfactory were it not for the delightfully friendly Emma on the front desk. Emma provided a warm welcome, and helped us with local knowledge and arranged transport for my group of friends heading to the wedding. A good stay turned into a great one thanks to this excellent service - a real point of difference.

We stayed in Albury at another hotel but were invited by a friend to have breakfast their on Sunday morning and it was absolutely beautiful. Hubby had the Breakfast for Champions and I had the Buttermilk Pancakes with bacon, banana and maple syrup. Everything was cooked to order and cooked to perfection. Staff were very welcoming and very attentive and the view of the front garden as well as the park across the road was an added bonus to a beautiful relaxing morning. Highly recommended!

An overnight stay on the way to Melbourne. Well located and well appointed accommodation. Close to CBD if required but we ate in house Room Service which was very acceptable. Good access from undercover parking. Quiet at night.

i had a night to myself! being a mum, full time employee & wife - i needed to check in and leave til i checked out. it had everything i needed - great WiFi, bath sheets, cleanliness, water pressure big comfy warm bed etc

Wonderful place to stay. Great restaurant on site. Extremely clean. Couldn't fault it. Easy parking. 2 bedroom suite with two bathrooms was perfect for 2 couples. 3 televisions! Would highly recommend.

Very friendly reception staff, service with a smile, very welcoming. Our room (number 6) was very well located, away from main road with lovely garden view. Very quiet and private. Nice balcony with outside furniture. Very comfortable bed, good heating. Well stocked with coffee, tea, sugar, milk. Plenty of room for luggage. Nice modern bathroom with great king size towels, shampoo, shower gel, soap, tissues, shower cap. Everything spotless clean and tidy. Good breakfast at reasonable cost - $22 per person for full breakfast. Continental selection buffet style and cooked breakfast a-la-carte. Combination of both $22 per person. Highly recommend.

Hubby and I stayed overnight on the way to Melbourne. Our deluxe room was quite spacious and we really enjoyed a comfortable nights sleep with a very comfortable bed. Parking was undercover and a short walk to the restaurant. I have mobility issues so I was happy there was a lift. We ate in the restaurant for dinner. I ordered a steak and my husband the boullabaise. The waiter was very friendly and accommodating. He served us for both dinner and breakfast and is a real asset to your hotel.. A delicious tender steak was ruined by the frozen chips and salad being overdressed. The boullabaise was thoroughly enjoyed by my husband. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast the following day. It was a good breakfast for the price which was inclusive of fruit, cereals, toasts and a cooked hot meal with coffee/tea. All in all we were more than happy with the accommodation and would definitely choose this hotel next time.

Excellent hotel for an overnight stop. Was in town for a birthday party. Everything from check in to check out was great. Beds, breakfast food, balcony, free car space and wi-fi. The customer service and pleasant staff were great. Highly recommended!

Friendly welcome on arrival and upgrade to a king room which was attractively furnished, very spacious and clean, lovely comfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom was brand new with big fluffy towels. Cosy bar and restaurant serving very delicious meals with friendly efficient service. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to another visit next time we are travelling to Melbourne. Highly recommend!

I went with my 1 year old baby. Hotel room was large and clean and comfortable. Staff were very accommodating. It was cold outside. But the Aircon inside kept us nice and warm. Food at the hotel was very nice.

Clean and tidy rooms, friendly staff at check in, close to Albury's Main Street and the river. Restaurant was nice and relaxing. Just watch out for the cement rise off to the left of the driveway if you have a car.

The room was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful outlook from the balcony across the manicured gardens. A Nespresso machine for the coffee-lover and room very well appointed, modern, fresh and clean. Restaurant was excellent for buffet breakfast and dinner/drinks, overlooking the gardens and park across the road. Close to Albury CBD.

Feeling tired from long hours of driving, the friendliness and hospitality of the staff at this motel was very much appreciated. The room was clean and well appointed & while I would have appreciated a microwave, I could not fault the facilities otherwise. Excellent WiFi, undercover parking etc. The restaurant is also highly recommended. The menu is varied, the food fresh, cooked to perfection & nicely presented. Again, the friendliness of staff added to the enjoyment.

Loved the Delonghi Coffee Machine in our room with a good section of coffee pods. Breakfast met expectations. Great selections on the Dinner menu. My family of 4 enjoyed our stay, we went for day teips to beechworth and spent time in the park and splashed arkund in the murray while having a coffee at the cafe in the park, we went in the pool and spa and were extremely refreshed when we left. The staff at reception upon arrival and checkout were both lovely and the lady looking after the dining room when we went for breakfast was just wonderful. She gave us a few tips on whats good around town and mentioned the beechworth markets and fair which we enjoyed a day trip to. We highly reccommend it here. We will b back for sure.

We stayed at the hotel over the Easter break. The staff are so helpful and polite. The rooms are well kept and luxurious. Our meal in the restaurant was delicious and the waiting staff were friendly and trained. All parking was under cover and the hotel location was ideal. There was no traffic noise and we were free to have a great weekend.

We stayed in a king room with spa on the first leg of our road trip and it was spacious and comfortable with a huge bath for two people. Double shower too. We enjoyed food via room service and it was delicious food. We loved it so much we came back at the end of our road trip too!

Second time we have stopped here on our way to Melbourne and it was an excelent stay. Room and staff tops nothing but satisfaction this time. Quiet rooms great amenities. This town is great there is planty to do and see so if you have time stay a few days and get to now what is in this lovely Australian town .Thanks we will stay here again.

We stayed here a couple of nights ago and it was great value. The motel is on the corner of a busy main road but the rooms are super quiet. The room we had had been renovated and it was big and spacious. A seperate dressing area, large new bathroom, sitting area and small balcony. The bed was lovely and comfy with quality linens. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was very nice. My only gripe here was the lighting was terribly bright in the restaurant and I don't like that. It also meant you were looking at a reflection in the window instead of looking out of the windows. We did not have breakfast in the restaurant as I had booked across the road at The River Deck and that is in a seperate review. All the staff at The Hovell were super friendly and helpful and it felt more like staying with friends than in a motel. I would definitely stay here again as apart from the restaurant lighting I could not fault the place.

We always book a few nights R&R at the Hovell Tree as the rooms are great, food and service excellent and location ideal. Unfortunately over the past 2 years the standards have slipped, food nowhere near as good, and motel starting to look tired. A little spruce up and rehire the old chef and all would be fantastic again. The motel is still better than average it's just not as fantastic as it once was.

Wasn't sure what to expect at Albany - it's a bit off the usual track - but the Hovell Tree Inn was excellent. Nicely equipped, friendly staff, well located; indeed as Albany itself is very pleasant I wish we had stayed more than just the one night. If you are stopping at Albany, the Hovell Tree Inn is a great and good value option.

Great place to stay for walking and wildlife. Close to town and the wetlands area. The rooms were comfortable and the the food was excellant. Staff were friendly and late checkout was easily arranged. Overall it was a very affordable stay in a very pleasant location. Walking track along the river with an exercise area and parks is a real bonus.

This is very good hotel with excellent facilities and friendly staff with very well organized. Rooms are modern, quiet,comfortable and clean. The location is great, right in middle of city. We had a wonderful time.

This place was recommended by friends and we were glad they did. Staying in Albury for the National Jaguar rally and this place was great. Nice welcome on arrival. Lift to get to the second floor so no heavy bags up stairs. We had dinner in the restaurant and breakfast every morning all were excellent. Every need was met in such a professional friendly manner. Our room was comfortable and very clean. The food at the Bar & Grill was lovely. The service was friendly and efficient. Parking is convenient. I highly recommend this motel.

We stated for one night, and it suited us for both comfort and location. Near enough for a short walk to the town centre, as well a a stroll by the river. It has a bar and restaurant. The staff were very friendly.

We chose the hotel purely on the basis it was a good half way stop. It is well situated and it's closeness to the Murray river is a bonus. It is easy to locate in the town and very close to the Hume Highway. The receptionist was delightful and very helpful - providing us with stronger coffee capsules for the Nespresso machine. So good to find that in the room, many other hotels should take note! The room itself was good - spacious, an extremely comfortable king size bed with a firm mattress. The balcony was an added extra - a good place to chill out with a glass of wine! This hotel definitely wins my vote for some of the best bath towels I've seen in hotels in Australia! A real delight! Whilst we did not use the gym I was impressed to see the equipment was of a high standard, and a very good mix. Wished I wasn't airport bound with everything packed and locked in the car! I will do a separate review for the restaurant.

The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. There is a lift to the upstairs rooms, which is handy. The motel is across the road from the Murray River and there is a delightful park along that stretch of the river. There's a cafe in the park, which unfortunately I didn't have time to try. The downside of the motel was the dreadful meal we were served at night. Just because we were a tour group is no excuse. The staff though are very nice & cheerful

The BW Plus Hovell Tree Inn is a good quality hotel in a convenient location just a couple of blocks away from the centre of Albury. The rooms are well equipped, clean and comfortable and the property has undercover parking, elevator, swimming pool, bar and restaurant. Whilst the hotel is located next to a main road, the property is quiet and you should have a peacefull night's sleep. I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating to my needs. I had an a la carte meal in the restaurant and, whilst not outstanding, it was of reasonable quality and is fine if you want to avoid going elsewhere for a meal. Overall, the hotel is a perfect place for a night or two's accommodation either as a stopover or a visit to Albury.

Stayed at this hotel for one night with a group.Rooms were excellent with good bathroom a couch and good size tv. and just over road from murray river.There is a restaurant and this was where the motel LeT it self down with a very average buffet dinner.Not the sort of thing you need on a group travel experience .A better dinner would certainly have lifted rating but buffet breakfast was excellent so that made up for it somewhat

We choose Best Western Plus Hovell Tree Inn as our stopover, travelling from Brisbane to Melbourne. Hotel is clean, staff were friendly and efficient. Room was spacious with comfy bed, good shower and amenities. We also enjoyed a few drinks at their restaurant and bar. We did not have enough time to enjoyed facilities offered by the motel. But, we enjoyed our stay and highly recommend to future travellers who are looking for accommodation in this area.

We arrived late in the afternoon and our stay in Albury was just to rest from driving. Good hotel not far from the river, bathroom could do with an update, room 58 a deluxe queen room which had a large sitting area and was near the lift, plenty of parking undercover and a short drive to the main shopping area. There is a restaurant and a bar which we didn't need to use. We had some problems with our room service breakfast - it was very late and we had to call then when it arrived we had a small jug (usually for a cup of tea) of milk for 2 bowls of cereal. When we asked the young girl if we could get some more milk she said 'isn't there some in the fridge' (ie. the small long life carton). It was just after Christmas so we assumed the Hotel staff were quite busy. We told the lady at reception when we were checking out and she very kindly didn't charge us for the breakfast. Overall a comfortable good value hotel.

We stayed one night at the Hovell Tree Inn and enjoyed you stay. The hotel offers enough parking, the rooms have a good size. the bed is confortable and what we specially enjoyed was the little balcony. There is a bar in the hotel as well as a restaurant and a little swimming pool. If you do not want to eat in the hotel's restaurant be prepared to walk approx 20 minutes or take the car.

Looked like the place to book in Albury judging by the reviews. Check-in was quick, courteous and efficient as we were directed to our room. On opening the door, it smelt fresh and the beds were large and comfortable with plenty of room to move around. Bathroom was also spacious with all of the toiletries you'd expect. Cleaning staff were unobtrusive when asked if we wished room to be made up for the 2nd night. The hotel is conveniently located about a 5-minute drive to the main drag of Dean Street. One minor thing to crow about was the loud & squeaky air-conditioner but outside of this everything was top-of-the-range for accommodation in this price bracket. Will stay again.

As a retired couple, we travel regularly between home in Victoria and family in NSW, and always prefer to stay in our favourite Albury Hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful; the room is comfortable, well set out, and quiet; and the restaurant is very family-friendly with an excellent menu to suit all tastes - the menu even suggests matching wines. Free undercover parking is an added convenience.

The Hovell Tree Inn is the best accomodation in Albury by a country mile. I stay here once a week on business trips and have never had any dramas at all. The staff are amazing and always make you feel welcome like It is your 2nd home. The rooms are a perfect size with all you need for a night away from home and a great selection of beverages and food from the bar and grill down stairs.

We stay here at least once a year to break up our trips to Melbourne... we keep coming back here because of the wonderful hospitality this place offers. A highlight for us is always breakfast in the restaurant. We made the mistake of going out for breakfast in town a couple of times, never again!! The food is always incredible and the service from the lovely waitress is second to none, giving us great suggestions on what to order and helping us plan our day's adventures! We are so grateful and look forward to our next trip, thank you!!

My wife & I stayed here for 4 nights & thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is across the road from the Murray River, which proved handy in the heatwave. The greeting on arrival was excellent, and the staff were happy and welcoming for the duration of our stay. The only criticism would be that the pool and surrounds needed some general maintenance and cleaning. Highly recommend this property.

Very good motel. Comfortable beds. Good aircon in hot weather. Has small pool, gym, bar and onsite restaurant. Room also has a sink, cups, bowls etc. internet ok. Ordinary restaurant- catering for sales people. Opposite the river and park. Close to Albury Swim centre.

My husband and I went to Albury to pick up 2 trucks for the company we work for. It was 44 degrees when we arrived. We checked into the Best Western and asked if we could park the trucks in their yard. The receptionist showed us a spot where we could park. When we'd picked them up we had a swim and a spa which helped us cool down. By the time we'd had a shower it was Happy Hour in the bar,so we had a couple of drinks followed by a very good dinner. It was great to have a very quiet air conditioner in our room which enabled us to have a good night's sleep before heading home. I would recommend this hotel for both business or pleasure trips.

Clean, fresh, plenty of room and extremely comfortable beds. There is a beautiful park conveniently located directly across the road,so the children stretched their legs at the park and then we enjoyed dinner at the Hovell Bar and Grill. It's not the first time we have stayed here on our travels between Sydney/Melbourne and it won't be the last. Highly recommend.

Booked this hotel at the last minute as we were passing through from Sydney to Melbourne. The location is good and the rooms were good and comfortable. The pool and spa were nice after the long drive! We had breakfast included which was continental and then you can choose a hot dish... in terms of the price it was definitely value for money, but I wouldn't select breakfast again. There's lots of cool cafes only down the road and one opposite in the park. We would stay again if passing through.

We stayed in an apartment on our way back to Sydney. The rooms are clean and well appointed and the beds are very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and professional. The breakfast was disappointing and not good value. However, we would stay here again and would recommend.

Great location close to river, town centre and right next to main route in and out of town. Parking is free and breakfast was good! Great stopover on way home to Melbourne. We stayed in a family suite for an evening and then a king room on another occasion. The rooms were fantastic for the price, size, and were super clean. The air conditioning was fantastic and kept the room cool, especially during a heatwave. Off street parking was available. The pool was great and really good for a quick cool off. The hotel staff were very friendly and useful to find a place to eat on Christmas evening. The buffet breakfast was good and had a great choice. Hovell Tree park was great for a run in the morning with a long track along the Murray river. Overall it was fantastic from all aspects even with a young child.

We only stayed one night. However, from the moment you check in by the friendly receptionists to when you leave, it is a very pleasant stay. The rooms are very spacious and clean with all the necessities, There is a gym and an inviting swimming pool. The motel is located on the edge of town but it is easily walkable.

The room was large and comfortable with amazing aircon. It was the perfect respite from 43C heat outside. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Parking was under cover in the shade, perfect for the hot weather. We ate in the restaurant there which was also very nice, even though they were on a restricted Christmas menu. I'd definitely stay here again.

If you are travelling from Melbourne to Sydney or the opposite way, this hotel have the right location at mid way. High quality of services. Great to have a restaurant proposing good food. Rooms are week equipped and nice

We have stayed at this location on a previous Occassion and have enjoyed it both times. The accommodation is excellent, staff friendly and helpful . The restaurant on site is very appealing,good meal selection and the best sticky date pudding. Will stay again when in Albury.

Stayed Christmas night. Arrived 830pm. Friendly staff. Checkin was quick. Was a good idea giving us information on restaurants open in town as it was Christmas Day with not a lot open. The bed was nice and comfy. Didn't hear noise during the night which is a plus. Breakfast was nice. Would have been nice to have an egg option of scrambled eggs. They only option was poached eggs.

We had a large room in the second block. The bed was very comfortable, everything clean. A nice sofa and table to sit at. The room was very quiet. It was a fairly dark room, but ok with the lights on.

I'm not one to stay at Best Western Motels unless I have no other choice and on this occasion it was one of them.I do have to say wow, what a nice place. The staff were great , easy process to check in, great location, clean comfortable room, good food and undercover parking.I will definitely stay again.

I always shop around for accommodation options. But, I always end up back here when staying in this area. Everything is as I need it to be and I can count on the quality time after time. It's nice to always know what your coming to when travelling for business.

It's been a while since I've stayed at this lovely place but I always look forward to staying here. The motel is located opposite a fabulous park and the rooms here are a really good size, always clean and comfortable. There is a nice restaurant onsite which offers nice meals for breakfast and dinner, the undercover parking is a bonus and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Young Emma makes you feel most welcome as you come in the door and no request is any trouble.

Clean, quiet hotel. Fabulous bed. Very slow lift, poor ventilation in the bathroom. good fitness room. Good undercover parking. Excellent staff - efficient & friendly. Refrigerator kept moving every time the door was opened, and then jammed on the cupboard door hinge.

Somewhere nice to sleep, staff are friendly, its great they had their own restaurant but food this night was a little dry. Rooms nicer in main area then their back area. 5 mins drive to centre, 15 min walk

Excellent motel. Loved the covered parking which is unusual in motels. Room layout and bathroom was 1st class and very quiet. The only criticism was a problem common to nearly all motels: the constantly varying shower temperature. Goes from perfect to almost scalding then to freezing all in a matter of seconds. A plumber told me it can be fixed with thermostatically controlled taps but they are a bit costly.

We had a lovely time last time we were there and will go back for sure , great service, great food. excellent walk by the river after tea. spa was great, they had a little Gym. under cover parking. and not too far from the Train station.

My Wife and I enjoyed a overnight stay on our trip to Country Victoria,the room was well appointed and spacious with a lovely bathroom.the dining room provided a extensive menu and a nice outlook over the park opposite.the breakfast provided was either a continental or cooked at a reasonable cost.Overall our stay was very enjoyable

I stayed at the Hovel Tree in with my husband and my parents. None of us could find fault with this venue. The rooms were clean and had all amenities we needed. The staff were lovely and the food in the restaurant was well above average. Loved it and will be back !

We have been staying in Best Western Plus Hovell Tree Inn for several years now when we are making our annual trip to Albury. The premises are excellent. The staff are very helpful and friendly and would go an extra mile to make the guests comfortable. The rooms are specious and exceptionally clean. There is a free wi-fi and marvelous gym and spa facilities. The restaurant offers exceptional meals and their cooks are talented. The best -bit: opposite the hotel is a huge parkland and an aquatic center. Short distance (around 15 min) walk to the center of the city. We haven`t been using,but the hotel has a remarkable function/reception area too. We hope to visit Albury next year again and we will definitely stay at Best Western Plus Hovell Tree Inn.

Loved this place - great sized rooms - bathroom and dressing area separate and great idea. Spotless. Wonderful staff desk, cleaning lady, bar and restaurant. Wonderful food and coffee. Very quiet. Across the road from the River Murray. Lots of great walks. Pretty garden.

Expensive, we were accommodated building seperate from hotel. I booked because of the on-site amenities and star rating. Very disappointing, air con not working, poor security, large group booking manopolised amenities, very noisy, staff unhelpful.

Stayed 3 nights for a friends wedding and would definitely stay here again. Great staff and Sandra in the restaurant was really friendly and helpful. Had a two bathroom, two bedroom apartment and had everything you could want except for a bottle opener. Beds excellent. Only a couple of minor things, no exhaust fan in bathrooms so got a bit steamed up and no make up mirror or light above mirror in bathroom. Also wardrobe door got stuck on drawer when opening but as I have said only minor things. Beautiful location opposite park and plenty of covered parking. Free wifi and great breakfasts.

A large group of Suzuki Boulevard riders made this place home for a couple of nights and we had the best time ever. The staff went above and beyond for us and we can't thank them enough. Such a fantastic place to stay. Wouldn't stay anywhere else

I stayed at Best Western Plus Hovell Tree Inn about 13 years ago with my dissabled dad and it was great so decided to stop over again on our way through to Sydney with my husband this time. Was not dissapointed. From arrival to checkout service was exceptional. Staff very friendly and courteous. Beds comfortable Room very comfortable. Buffet breakfast was great too. So on our way back from Sydney a week later we decided to stop over again . Was not dissapointed again. Will defiantely stay there on any trip through Albury again and will highly recommend it to any one .

We stayed one night whilst passing through. We were towing a trailer so needed a long park. The staff organised this for us with no problems. Our room was a comfortable queen bedroom with sizeable bathroom. We ate dinner and breakfast in the hotel and both meals were great. The staff were very polite and professional.

We stayed for a weekend and could not fault it. The service from reception was fantastic. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. The room we were checked into had a bed that we found too soft, after explaining this to staff the quickly checked us into another room with a firmer mattress. Food in the restaurant was delicious!

We planned a stopover on our car trip from Melbourne to Sydney and this motel certainly was a great choice. Lovely large room, king size bed, modern bathroom and great facilities such as microwave. Very quiet yet centrally located.

This was a pleasant motel to stay at however a room with cooking facilities that had rusted pots and pans and burnt melted utensils.Room was clean other then cooking issue and as I have my own cooking things with me at all times this did not stop me from making dinner and breakfest.

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst we drove down to Melbourne. Receptionists are lovely. Rooms were comfortable and clean with heating..Beds comfortable! The restaurant is also amazing!! their food was unbelievable. I don't normally write reviews, but i was Very very impressed with this stay! Thank you very much. The Hovell tree was all we wanted and more, CLEAN, GREAT STAFF AND SERVICE AND VALUE FOR MONEY. A real home away from home. The staff were professional, friendly and made the trip from booking to checking out a breeze!

went to visit albury not long ago and recently stay here. we didnt expect this place will be very nice. the room size was very generous, plenty of space. the bed just very comfy and we feel very relaxed staying day for our mini holiday. staffs are very pleasant to deal with. we didnt expect the restaurant will have different variety of menu to offer. the rstaurant has a very nice ambient and also serve really good food and cocktails. if you decide to drive from sydney to melb or the other way around , this place not to miss. you wont regret.

A great place to stay. My room was clean and comfortable and the staff were great. I wasn't expecting much because it was just a stop over for the night. I wanted somewhere clean and with a restaurant and hopefully room service. Best Western had both and the food was nice. Highly recommend.

When traveling between Melbourne and Sydney the Hovell Tree Inn Albury is a great place to break your journey. The rooms are quiet and comfortable and there is an excellent restaurant on site. The location opposite the park is very pleasant

I stay at here every couple of months for work, the location is convenient, the rooms are always clean and very comfortable. The Resturant meals are beautiful with a good variety of choice. They have s pool for the warmer months and a gym onsite.

The hotel was excellent. The beds are extremely comfortable and it had everything we needed for our family. We will definitely stay there again on our trip to Melbourne. It's a great stop over point. The room service was delicious and the restaurant is good quality.

Stayed with work colleagues, rooms very comfortable for extra people had the apartment so separate living area, ate both dinner and breakfast in house and both were very enjoyable with very good service at both.

Stopped off in Albury for a quick one night's stay on our way back to Sydney from Melbourne. The room was simple, clean and comfortable. The restaurant was booked out for dinner so we just got room service and it was delicious!! Better than expected!

Stayed here for the weekend. Great location - a 10 min stroll to the center of town and just across the road from a bike and walking path that runs along the bank of the Murray River. Rooms were clean and bed was very comfortable. The hot breakfast was delicious and very filling. Plumbing was a bit noisy as other guests in adjoining rooms started their day a little earlier than us but that didn't really bother us. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Thank you, I always return to best Western Plus Hovell Tree Inn every August as its clean, warm, comfy and has a great restaurant! The parking is good and the staff very helpful. Oh, and the bar is great too!

After a long days travel without having prebooked we were searching hopefully for a good nights rest. We found it at the best Western Hovell tree inn. Our car was parked under cover and access to reception and rooms was easily found through connected passages.

First stay at Hovell Tree and it did not disappoint. Attending conference and distributor dinner at venue and moved from my usual accommodation. Great hotel with good rooms and excellent bed and pillows. The highlight of the stay was the staff; could not fault them. Enthusiastic, helpful and all smiling; they are a great asset to the property. Good staff are hard to find....look after them

Lots to like here, but I can't go past the bath sheets! I stay in a lot of hotels for work and pleasure and I was really excited about having a bath sheet I could wrap around my body! Not one of the tiny little things you usually get. Room was clean and bathroom was recently renovated. Breakfast was a choice of buffet or alacarte and the bruschetta was brilliant.

I stayed here for 3 nights as I was working in Wodonga. Found the room was very comfortable and clean, Ensuite was well maintained and clean. There is a TV with a DVD player, mini bar small round table and two chairs and a couch. The bed was very comfortable and had a good nights sleep. Staff were friendly and professional. I had my meals delivered from the restaurant delivered to my room, all meals were excellent (they have the best chips). If you have room service there is a $4 charge. It is also close to a park for walking and close to Albury CBD

An excellent place to stay, friendly staff, well appointed rooms in a quiet location. There is a small fitness centre with Jacuzzi, ample undercover parking which is great, a dining room and bar, not to mention a lift to get you up to the second stories.

We enjoyed our one night stay in the hotel block . Parking is plenty at ground floor and with key card , one can easily reach the upper two floors . Room is clean and well stocked with coffee , teas etc . Room is very clean . Bed is comfy .

We stayed for the weekend with our family. Staff were lovely, very clean/neat rooms. Kids loved the inside spa. We had a cooked breakfast both mornings and the lady in the dining room was so welcoming to us. Defiantly recommend staying here. AA+

Wow, the most comfortable beds ever. We stayed in a king room, it was very well appointed. Staff were very friendly and polite. Car parking was excellent. A quiet spot not far from the shopping centres and other attractions. Would definitely recommend

No hesitation in expressing that this has been one of the best all-round motel/ hotel experiences we have had in rural eastern Australia. Hovel Tree scores well in all areas. Newly renovated rooms are roomy and have all necessary facilities including kitchenette with microwave. Beds are very comfortable; rooms are quiet. Well located but no road noise intrusion. Walking distance to river, ie, 200m. Great on-site restaurant for dinner, and breakfast which is a very good deal. Under cover parking. Late check out offered. All staff attentive, professional and friendly. Exceptional value for money considering standard facilities provided. Would be hard to find a better half-way stop between Sydney/ Canberra, and Melbourne. I normally don't give 5 ratings on Trip Advisor-this is an exception..

Never fails to give us a good stay. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Room service meals and breakfast were delicious. Only thing I could mention is that when there are only a few people in the restaurant I don't like being crammed up next to each other because the other tables are being set for dinner.

We had a lovely stay. Reception very welcoming. The 2 rooms very nice. Had dinner there and that was very enjoyable. We enjoyed sitting around the fire and having drinks and nibbles before dinner. Also it is great to have underground parking

Easy booking direct with motel. Located opposite a great river front park. Good restaurant with excellent menu and wine list. Reasonable sized rooms with toaster etc, covered parking. Nit far to walk into the CBD.

I had driven alone for three days, staying in motels along the way. Too tired to make it home, I decided to find somewhere that I could have a good meal and fall into bed. The Hovell Tree Inn was ideal, providing splendid facilities for both of these activities. The drive next day was a breeze - my appreciation of the countryside was heightened considerably by having such restful sleep in Albury.

Best Western Hovell Tree motel is one of the best motels that I have stayed in. Accommodation was first class, rooms were clean, bathrooms and towels good quality and the food in restaurant very good.

I visited here in May and had a suite as I shared with a friend. We each had a bedroom and shared dining room/lounge/kitchen area. There were two bathrooms. It was so comfortable. The meals were excellent and the breakfast layout was very clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed here on a recent business trip. It's more like a city hotel. Gym , Spa , restaurant (Fantastic Food) Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Service station/ convenience store across the road. Will be the only place I stay again in Albury

We have stayed here before and fully enjoyed our time there. Michael and Chris (owners) are always so accommodating and are happy to negotiate on price - they are certainly not the cheapest hotel in Albury, BUT if you want good size rooms and very clean accommodation and a wonderful smorgasbord type breakfast, then this is the place to stay wether it be for one night or several nights. You will not be disappointed. Give it a try if you are wanting a great rest stop. Thanks Chris for being so accommodating and we will surely be back on one of our many road trips . . . . . . . . . .

Stayed here for two nights while visiting Albury. The location is great and close to the town centre. Lovely receptionists, with a easy check in/check out. The room we stayed in “executive king room” was very clean. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable! The only slight downfall was if you're a light sleeper like me, I could hear the people in the room next to us turning their taps on/off , was quite loud as well as hearing trucks early In the mornings. Overall good, clean, spacious hotel room with all the ammenities needed. Would stay here again if in Albury.

The motel is a great spot to rest on long drives - it has friendly efficient staff with 24 hour front desk, great location, well appointed, clean, well decorated and generously sized rooms. I only used the rooms but the other facilities (restaurant, gym etc) looked good and I would have used if I had more time All you can hope for in a motel.

I enjoyed my one night stay, away from work and the kids. The room was spacious, clean, the bed was very comfortable and it had everything I needed. The spa was very relaxing. I will definitely return one day.

This is a large modern hotel/motel on the fringes of the city center. Our large room was on an upper floor well serviced by a lift. Modern clean and comfortable with all the facilities one would expect for the price. A comfortable settee was appreciated as was the free WiFi. There was a balcony with a table and chairs. A generous bathroom with all the bits and pieces was provided as were coffee/tea facilities. A small but adequate bar with an adjoining dining room was well serviced by professional & pleasant young staff. A good menu provided an excellent meals at restaurant prices. Reception staff were helpful and friendly as were all staff.

We stayed one night (Sunday) in a Deluxe Queen room in the main building with undercover parking. Our room was clean and comfortable; reasonable in size with a balcony however did not have the facilities as shown in the photos on the website (see photos below). It was disappointing to find that the restaurant was not open on Sunday however some meals were available from the bar. Our meals were good and plentiful but difficult to eat from bar stools. There were good choices for breakfast which were included in the room tariff. Our stay was pleasant enough but disappointing the room did not match the photos on the website (see below).

We were there for a wedding, beautiful. The only downfall, canapes took too long to come out, when they did, one plate at a time, the waitress only worked the front of the room eventually more came out

Do not be fooled by name this place is no Hovell it is an excellent Inn in a great location. Awesome size rooms with great clean facilities and everything you could ask for. Staff where very friendly and breakfast was great.

Stayed here a night. The staff were efficient and friendly. The room was clean. The bed was cumfy. The shower was warm. The food was good. The overall stay was very neat and tidy. Electonic key entry. Plenty of parking. Conveniently located too!!!

We stayed here this weekend. Met up with another couple from Canberra for our annual catchup. The rooms were spotlessly clean. Beds comfortable, bathroom could do with a fan and shower lacked a bit of pressure. (just a minor thing). We had breakfast the two mornings. It was delicious, lots to choose from in hot/cold breakfast. Service was attentive, couldn't fault it. Had dinner here last night the meal was excellent. The four of us could not fault it. They had a wedding on and the meals came out slower but we were told and that was no issue. We had pre dinner drinks in the cocktail bar at half price..sat around fire..was lovely. Would definitely recommend staying here.

This is a great hotel I have stayed at a few times and each time I have really enjoyed it, the rooms are lovely spacious and very clean with the beds being super comfortable. My only negative comment would be that the restaurant staff need to be more efficient with their service as we waited quite a while for our entrees to come out. They were also very very slow at topping up the water glass's, the restaurant was popular with a number of guests but not run off their feet.

We arrived early at 11:00 and greeted by a receptionist with a nasty attitude (Sally) and rudely told check in was at 2pm. I asked if it was possible to change my room to a twin share room. I was quoted a high rate of an extra $80. The receptionist (Sally) offered to phone me when the room would be ready as I was having to hang around with my very young baby. She did not bother phoning me at all which was disappointing. When 2pm finally came around my husband checked us in and tried to negotiate the high fee as I didn't want to see Sally due to her nasty attitude. She was very rude to him as well quoting that "we don't have to stay there" which is a really poor customer service response. She did drop the fee to $50 which was much better but leaves me wondering why she didn't offer this to begin with. We will not stay here again even though we travel through Albury annually and we will be telling our friends. If not for the very nasty and uncompromising receptionist the experience would have been fine. I think it's terrible that a person working in this field responds with " you don't have to stay here" it is dismissive and completely uncaring and inflexible when we waited around 3 hours with a 5 month old baby. We can just "go somewhere else". We shared an elevator with another couple checking in at the same time and they agreed she was really rude and it's terrible to be treated like that when you pay top dollar for the room.

When my father recently became ill whilst travelling from Melbourne to Sydney so he headed for the Hovell Tree Inn and they did not disappoint and could not have been more helpful, going above and beyond what you would normally expect staff to do for you. The large, comfortable and well appointed room was a haven to return to after hospital with great facilities onsite for disabled access, parking, lift and restaurant. Many thanks for the kindness to my mother from all staff in particular housekeeping and reception.

On the main road with lots of parking.A beautiful park across the road by the Murray River to walk in and relax. Rooms are large,very clean and quiet. There is a restaurant within the complex with beautiful food.

I was travelling through and stopped here only two nights. I wish it had been longer. What a lovely place , modern clean and the staff very friendly. Rooms are clean and all have a balcony. The Restaurant was lovely. I had a 400g Rib Eye that was delicsious. Back in the morning for more. Breakfast was again fantastic. Everything you would expect at a 5 star Hotel. They also have a gym, Sauna and Spa downstairs:)

We only spent one night here as the hotel was booked out.,otherwise we would have stayed 3 nights. The room was clean and comfortable and the bed super large and comfortable,The drinks in the fridge we thought a little expensive..

This motel has excellent facilities, is an effficient, friendly, quiet place. The bar and restaurant are comfortable and the staff very helpful and friendly. The meals were very good, breakfast was a good variety. Check in and out were swift and professional. We have stayed here before and it was good to see the high standard maintained.

We selected this hotel based on the reviews and that it was part of a large hotel chain. Terrific service from when we checked in, complimentary room upgrade was appreciated and the restaurant was superb.

Stayed here on a long weekend. The hotel was clean and had a friendly staff. The room was large with a small sitting area out side. The grounds are nice and well kept. The furnishings are what is expected in a mid range hotel.

This was the second time we chose to stay in this motel and we were not as impressed this time round. It remained an economic, value-for-money 4-star motel. The room was clean, renovated and well-appointed with a comfortable king-sized bed. There was a balcony great for fresh air and natural light. Bathroom was clean. Amenities were adequate: I needed the iron but couldn't find shoe shine. There was a Nespresso machine, with two complimentary coffee pods, and a small fridge. The reason we could not rate this accommodation higher was because of the unfortunate incident that we were checked into a room already occupied. This was not more awkward only because the guests already staying there were not in the room at the time we opened the door. I could only hope that this will not happen to me that some strangers could access my hotel room because the front desk gave them the key! Check-out was a bit of a wait as the desk was unattended. Location wise it was great as a stop-over. There is a petrol station and parkland with playground across the road, and city centre (Dean St) was within walking distance.

Good place to stop half-way(ish) between Sydney and Melbourne. Friendly staff, clean and tidy good size rooms but needs better AC in rooms. low rise building which is dated, but well kept with parking in the shade.

Our weekend stay was at a pleasant Hovell Tree Inn, centrally located to all aspects of the City of Albury / Wodonga. Where we found the accommodati9on facilities were great, the bistro/bar meals, and breakfast meals were fine. We were there for a group meeting and dinner which was a great success.

Completely unplanned we had to stop in Albury. This was a lovely place with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the bathroom was well set out. We had an excellent breakfast.

Well located for the Murrey river park but away from town centre this modern hotel has everything we needed, large clean, quiet room with under cover parking below. The staff were very busy but where friendly and helpful, one advising us of a local event in the park which we enjoyed. The breakfast was good. We would stay there again.

Our second stay here was just as good if not better than the first time around. Can't fault it! No need to leave the grounds to get a good meal either, there was a lovely lady that greeted us in the restaurant for breakfast, she made us feel so welcome and nothing was a bother. The food was superb. The service we received for the price we paid was way above expectations. We will definitely be back and will recommend to all our family and friends. Broke our trip from Sydney to Melbourne here on a recommendation from our son. Our room was in the older part of the building however the room itself had a clean modern bathroom and modern fixtures and furniture. The king bed was large and comfortable. The hotel offers a happy hour which was well attended on a Thursday. Had the eye fillet at the restaurant for dinner which was nice. Large portion and cooked well, I personally did n't like the pepper sauce (tasted a bit herby) however my husband enjoyed it. The breakfast next morning was good however the orange juice was n't, made from concentrate. We found all the staff to be friendly and efficient and seemed happy in their jobs. Great price for room.

Hotel in great location. Nice, clean and spacious rooms. Nice pool. Very pleasant staff in bar and restaurant apart from one particular grumpy bar waitress who could not be bothered and made it clear to patrons and residents that she did not want to be there. Excellent breakfast. Same cannot be said of the management. They are of a poor standard. Management does not communicate with key staff. Manager openly blames night staff for not talking to day staff. Manager does not communicate hotel policy to staff leaving staff confused and residents dissatisfied. Manager needs to take responsibility or move on. Expect staff turnover at this hotel as morale decreases. That would be a shame.

Very friendly and professional staff. Could not fault check in or any other part of our stay. Older Building but very well maintained and nothing was to much trouble to the staff. Highly recommend this Inn to stay.

Had a recent overnight stay in a family room. Room clean, bedding comfy and fresh, bathroom clean, nice location across from Murray and park. I did however deduct 1 star due to the terrible smell coming from a blocked drain in the bathroom. As soon as we walked in the room it nearly knocked us out. The smell improved when shower turned on and door closed. To be fair we did not notify management due to not spending a lot of time in the room.

Room was clean & large. A/C was useless, considering it was 40 degrees it would've been nice if it had been switched on prior to arrival. Otherwise it was comfortable & reasonably quiet. Late checkout was good.

From the outside it looks pretty much like any other 4* motel but what a surprise when you go inside! Courteously greeted at reception and directed to our room we were astounded to find such a spacious, modern king room. The small kitchenette is perfect for anyone wanting to dine in on a longer stay and the balcony refreshing (although beware they DO allow smokers on balconies) We had drinks at the bar overlooking the small pool before going elsewhere for dinner. Breakfast was a decent selection for continental including pastries & fresh fruit. Cooked breakfasts and barista coffee available freshly made at additional cost. The undercover car park is a bonus. Really enjoyed the riverside park across the road for an evening stroll and a little bit of exercise in the morning. Also an easy walk to the CBD.

We were disappointed with the customer service we received from reception. When the room was booked we asked for an early check in due to a function in the afternoon. Was spoken to rudely when ringing to see if the room was available for us to check in. On checking in and getting into the room it wasn't the room we had booked. I had booked the same configuration of room as the last time as I knew the showers where walk in. One guest on crutches. We had a spa bath to climb into to have a shower. Was told that we couldn't change rooms. The original room booked had a queen size bed in each room. Needed up with one queen and two singles instead. However, I will say that the room was spotless so the cleaners do a top job with the rooms. The beds are very comfortable to sleep in. The service we received at breakfast the next morning was exceptional and the food was delicious.

We were traveling from Sydney to Melbourne, and this was a good stop. We were a party of four - my husband and two kids aged 6 and 3. Too bad we checked in so late (9pm) but that was our fault. Late checkout was only a one hour extension. Food was exceptional. We had a late dinner, and our package included breakfast. For brekky, we had one dish each, and access to the buffet (bread, cereal, fruits, juice, drip coffee). The room was good... minor problems like aircon noisy and one side of the bed a bit depressed. But overall, ok. Comfortable and clean. We enjoyed.

Booked online but due to change in circumstances we had to change booking when we checked in.. staff went above and beyond to accommodate our extended stay and extra family members.. during our 4 day stay we could not if been looked after better.. was a bonus to spend the warm days by the pool with a cool drink and great bbq facilities!! Would highly recommend!!

Our new go-to hotel when we are in Albury...from the moment we checked in everything was great...Gemma at reception was lovely, our room was spotless, really large modern living area with couch, dining table, full kitchen.... two bedrooms with super comfy beds, a large balcony and two bathrooms. Free undercover parking...great bar and restaurant...in ground pool , can sit and have a drink while the kids are in the pool. I loved that there was air conditioning in both bedrooms and the lounge room. Highly recommended

Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Had dinner which was perfect and well presented. Staff were friendly. Room was clean and spacious with a balcony and there was a great range to choose from at breakfast. Would stay here again.

Whole day planned. Set alarm to be at gym 6am as advertised. Door was dead bolted and no staff on site until 7am. Management oversight, changed staff starting times, but forgot to update signs and room info books. Not good enough. Anything else I say re this hotel would be tainted due to how much this effected my stay.

Very friendly staff and clean rooms. Never go wrong staying here. Even good for families as they have apartment suites available. Very good resturant great for both breakfast and dinner. Overall a 4 rating

We stayed only for a night, the rooms are clean and tidy, roomy too. Location is nice and quiet. Staff were great with some local recommendations and even searched for an early opening coffee shop for us, as we were leaving early.

Its been 6 months since my last stay here, and unfortunately it wasn't as positive as last time. Staying during the 2 days over Christmas meant the restaurant was closed Christmas and Boxing Day, and rooms weren't serviced on Christmas Day, which was ok,. but when my room was serviced no toiletries were replaced after 2 days usage. Odd. I was in a different room this time - mid corridor with a balcony, and it was fairly noisy - this time I noticed how thin the walls were with the TV next door and voices from the balcony very clear. The water pipes are the same noisy issue as my last stay. The room is lovely as it was last time, and the bed very comfortable, but with children running up and down the corridors shouting, and the other noise, it made staying out of the room during the day a necessity. Having asked for a quiet room on check in I'm amused at the choice of where I was. I understand that children = noise, but I also expect hotel staff to ensure as much as possible that guests don't have to flee their room to find peace and quiet. Maybe not the place to stay during public holidays if you want a quiet comfortable room.

Perfect location to break up the travel between Sydney and Melbourne. Our kids loved relaxing in the outdoor spa and pool. The room was comfortable and there was plenty of room for our family of 4. Will definitely stay again.

This hotel was perfect for what we needed for a nights stay! Across the road from Hovell Tree Park it was really convenient we walked o we from the inn to the Saturday markets and park run. Rooms was neat and tidy we arrived late so the bar was already closed. Bed was comfortable and had a great nights sleep!

The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Great that we could use hotel towels when using the pool/spa areas. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet and clean. The size of the drain hole in the shower is limited and means that the shower starts to flood the bathroom after a short time. You either have to barricade the shower entrance with towels or turn the shower off while you 'lather up' or wash your hair.

Have had a couple of one night stays here recently. The interior is very tired and dated, but once you get past that you will have a wonderful stay. A great location opposite the Murray River with undercover parking. The rooms are clean, the bed fantastically comfortable, and everything you could want/need is in there. Hopefully that depressing brown will disappear in time. Great staff and restaurant food really good. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Stayed for staff Christmas party. Room was comfortable. Had everything you needed. Bed was comfortable. Location okay- not central to shopping centre. Restaurant food was excellent & staff happy & friendly. Good location for families as there is a huge park across the road.

Nice Motel , clean and great beds, staff very helpful, and well mannered.I would recommend this Motel to all who are travelling to Albury.Rooms are Spacious and modern, close to alot of entertainment and not noisy.

I stayed here last Friday night and it was amazing. I already had a good impression of the property through the standard of service delivered by the staff and the feedback I had received from others that had stayed here. My expectations were met and exceeded when I stayed their myself. The beds are unbelievably comfy and the shower in the 1 bedroom apartment was the best I've ever experienced. Well done to all the team at Hovell Tree, will definitely continue to recommend without hesitation.

I had an overnight stay at the Hovell Tree in - my first trip to Albury and I don't regret my choice of hotel. Service was great, room was clean, the location was convenient and the food at the restaurant was very good. I will definitely stay here again.

I have reviewed here before but this time we had a one bedroom apartment. We always look forward to staying here as it never disappoints. The staff are all very good, I wasn't well and they even offered to have some food made specially for me which was much appreciated. The apartment was large, very well equipped, comfy and a good spa. Room service dinner arrived hot and delicious and breakfast as always was good. This hotel sets a benchmark for small operators.

We loved our stay at the best Western Plus Hovell Tree Inn. This hotel has the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in and both my daughters agree! The staff are friendly, courteous and most helpful and our room was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed beautiful cocktails at the bar and our meals from the restaurant were literally superb! I am so impressed at how beautifully the chef catered for my daughters dietary requirements at short notice and also how helpful our waitress was in this regard. I would highly recommend staying and I will definitely stay again!

I stayed at the Hovell Tree Inn a few years ago for a week and enjoyed it thoroughly, so when I was passing through Albury I had to stay again. It is convenient from the motorway and has a great restaurant, a nice pool, spa and gym. The rooms are spacious and clean. There is plenty of parking, most undercover. The lift is a little slow, but it's only two stories so if it's a problem you can take the stairs.

We got the room with the bath in it, so I guess they all smell weird when you have a big bath next to the bed. Got used to it after a while. Room service was good, standard pub food but lots of it. Friendly service. Beds are old and need a new mattress but manageable. Good parking.

Great large room, sensational breakfast. Great if you are attending an outside concert. I would stay here again. If attending a concert, I would book early as the rooms are in high demand. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

Good location across from the river. This property is within walking distance of the CBD but is away from the hustle and bustle. Spa, sauna and a pool make this property all the more relaxing. And they have a happy hour.

I was impressed by the staff, the cleanliness, the comfortable bed and the excellent food. So many hotels nowadays serve "packaged" soup and meals. The chef at the Hovell Tree Inn clearly makes his own soup and serves food both hot and in good serves. I would stay there again next week If I were a regular visitor to Southern NSW

Spent a three night stay at this hotel during a business visit to Albury. The hotel is clean and tidy and the staff attentive. The beds are comfortable although there was no remaking of the beds on two of the days, which was somewhat strange. The breakfast service was excellent.

Stayed here for a business trip in November. We arrived extremely late on a Tuesday night (9.15pm) and just made it for dinner before the kitchen closed at 9.30pm. The chef was brilliant and asked us if we required any desserts before he closed the kitchen. The room I was allocated (room #51) was modern and well appointed with very comfortable bed and very clean bathroom. It had a separate bedroom and a living area which could easily accommodate a roll out bed / cot if required. I made use of the gym the next morning and if I had to pick a fault with the hotel maybe the treadmill could be updated but hey that is only if I had to pick a fault. I was lucky that they even provided a gym. Would have no hesitation in staying here again or recommending this hotel to anyone passing through for a stopover.

Stayed for one night in Nov 2017 as a stopover on a road trip. We arrived several hours later than we expected and we seemed to catch the reception off-guard. However, the check-in was smooth and very efficient with clear details as to parking and amenities available. The room was on the first floor, with a very creaky lift taking us there. The room was very spacious with plenty of room for a cot in addition to two suitcases. The bed was very comfortable and there was a wide variety of pillows provided allowing us to adjust to suit our comfort levels. Showering was a delight with a very large cubicle provided and good pressure from the head as well. The bathroom was cleaned immaculately and gave the impression we were the first people to ever use it. Overall, this was an excellent stay and we will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Albury.

Newly refurbished spacious rooms. Happy hour daily and a great restaurant. Good location with walk to botanical gardens and CBD.The most comfortable bed ever. Ask for the $2 breakfast deal. Very helpful staff.

The Hovell Tree Inn was more than worthy of it's rating of Best Wester n"Plus"!. The accommodation, Service and food were all Excellent. We will defintely stay at the Hovell Street Inn again if passing through Albury.

Room was modern and clean, staff very friendly and helpful, had some great ideas for places to see around the area. food inside the hotel restaurant was also of good quality with an awesome breakfast menu.

Stayed for two nights in one bedroom apartment room set up for three adults. The second night place was booked solid due to a concert when we retuned late on the second night we still got parking underneath - ample parking. Walking up to our room we noticed some very noisy neighbours obviously beat us back from the concert but as soon as we closed the door you couldn't even hear them. The room was very clean, full kitchen, ample hot water, wardrobe, drawers in main bedroom with tv in lounge area, full length mirror, second tv in bedroom & bed was comfy. I would stay again, staff went above & beyond looking for a item that was left behind.
