"Good location!"
BoaK1, 05 Novembre 2023

Our room was okay. The breakfast was also okay. The staff was very helpful. The best thing about the place was the location, and I guess that's what you're paying for. The staff can help arrange trips.

"Decent city centre hotel in a great location."
DeanJ851, 25 Septembre 2023

Stayed here as part of a four day city trip to Sofia with my wife. Positives: • Good location within Sofia, just off Vitosha which is a great plus. Also, only five minutes from a metro station so handy for getting to and from airport or around Sofia. • Rooms are cheap and include breakfast and Wi-Fi which is pretty reliable, I managed to stream a rugby match without too many issues. • Despite being just off the busy part of Sofia city there isn't too much noise. Negatives: • Rooms are nothing overly special, we stayed in a suite on the fifth floor and whilst it wasn't dirty it also wasn't completely clean. You could see where the staff hadn't moved the spare beds to clean underneath etc. • Some of the decor is faded, broken or dirty. • Never managed to get the air con working in our stay which wasn't too bad but would have been worse if it was hotter. • For me, breakfast was pretty poor but that's partly due to personal preference. Not sure everything was always properly cleaned too, saw a bit of hand washing of glasses in the bar sink. We didn't use the bar or any other facilities, there's really little point when there are multiple bars just minutes away. Couldn't see any car parking either. If you're looking for a cheap, decent hotel in Sofia and you're going to be out most of the day, as we were then, this is perfect really. If you're imagining spending more time here than out and about then I would give this a miss.

"Terrible experience"
panor890, 06 Septembre 2023

Terrible experience, arrived with my family as their AC was not working Staff were nice but unfortunately did not do anything, I had to cancel my reservation and get a new place Do not believe the hotel pictures as none of them are right Hotel has poor lobby & poor rooms as well I do not recommend this hotel to anyone

"Wouldn't stay here again"
trinkle15, 19 Août 2023

Recently back from a short break in Sofia staying at this hotel The pros: The hotel is in a great location, near all the sights, metro, trams, shops and restaurants. The staff are friendly and keen to help with maps, recommendations etc The cons: The breakfast is hopeless. Tasteless stale pastries, badly cooked lukewarm food and a toaster that doesn't toast. It became obvious that food that wasn't eaten, even if it had been sat out uncovered for several hours, was recycled and put back out the next day. Our tea/coffee making station was never refilled in four days. Also when we arrived our kettle handle was too hot to hold when boiled. On request we were found a new kettle. The safe didn't work (or in the adjoining room either) - apparently the batteries were flat (?) - we were eventually given a key to one safe so everyone had to use that one. Our room was dirty. Not the linens or towels which were clean, but the room itself. The housekeepers changed the towels and cleaned the bathroom but everything else was perfunctory. The sofa in our room was filthy so that we couldn't sit on it, and when we moved it slightly there was a pair of dirty socks from a previous occupant. Our balcony was flooded when we arrived and was never cleaned even when the water finally subsided so you had to be careful if you wanted to go outside. The final straw was the cockroaches. On the balcony and in the bedroom. Having spotted some pest control workers I assume we weren't the only ones with a cockroach problem. I think they are trying to update this hotel - perhaps give it a couple of years to get the problems sorted out.

"Better go to other place"
Pavel G, 29 Juillet 2023

The air condition not working, and the rooms are very stinky with cigarettes and some other bad smell Breakfast poor selection, dishes not clean Old interior with stinky floor carpet location is good

"Good position only"
ralux09, 19 Octobre 2022

Very small room Very small bathroom Tv doesn't work Poor breakfast Bad coffee Good position, near to all the main attractions of Sofia Problems with the lights and this is an unsafe situation that has been reported at the reception of the hotel

"Comfortable hotel"
MarianTheNetherlands, 24 Juillet 2022

Room 107 (going up, you can use the elevator, going down you can't) has a double bed, nightstands and reading lights on both sides. Window can be opened, there's a comfy chair next to it. Large wardrobe, desk and chair with coffee-and-tea making facilities. Bathroom has handheld shower and is quite old (no cubicle, just a shower curtain which was put up too high, so the floor still got a bit wet), but toilet worked well. Room has one suitcase stand; we put our second one on the cabinet next to it. Room has a TV (can't remember whether there were any English channels) and has 4 sockets. Breakfast: quite a large buffet, dark room, but fine. Hotel is centrally located. Overall: decent, clean and comfortable, will stay here again when travelling to Sofia in the future.

"Normal hotel, great location"
Jakub F, 17 Avril 2022

I really love the location of this hotel, just few steps from Vitosha bl., city center, NPK and metro station... The room was clean and nice, breakfast average... great value! Next time I just need to ask to turn off the heating, it was too hot everywhere in the hotel (and everywhere in Sofia - churches, shops, etc.).

"Good value for money. Avoid the breakfast."
SeekerP, 03 Avril 2022

The hotel is cheap and located in a very central position. The rooms are comfortable with a huge bed. Unfortunately the breakfast is not good: my suggestion would be to book the room only (no breakfast included) and have breakfast outside!!

"Sofia weekend vacation"
KoIryna, 25 Octobre 2021

It was hotel with nice location, understandable stuff, normal room, old decorations, good breakfast, dirty canteen. That's basically the summary. It really needs renovation because looking little bit gloomy. My room was looking differently than on the picture when booking. Still it was satisfying for two nights.

"DON'T ASK FOR IRON!"
Kostadin S, 28 Avril 2021

We all know location it's amazing but... when I asked what can we do with my shirt getting dirty from the iron they send me to arrange it by myself... :-( Really! I had an interview the next day & in the rush didn't see the disgusting iron. Someone has to clean it. That's it. I spoke with 2 different ppl and gave time. Being polite & giving apologies is at list what I was expecting. Solution & choice is the second thing. Details were taken but they never contacted me since then. Now they can. So stay there but bring your own iron. Its not my job to clean an iron in the central Sofia.

"Very poor internet acess"
gahls, 10 Avril 2021

The room is small and cozy. It is clean and well-maintained. The breakfast is plentiful. Although using plastic single use cups for coffee is dangerous and inappropriate. The Wi-Fi is terrible it is not on we're not working most of the time. When it is working it is working at 1 to 5 MB per second. After completing a solution was to work in the lobby. Which is not a appropriate solution when trying to run business meetings.

"Not bad..."
Ewsy78, 31 Mars 2021

Stayed here for two nights. More for location. Very close to Vitosha boulevard. To be honest £45 for two nights for two people plus breakfast is good. Room is fine. Carpets need a good clean. Nice firm mattress. Shower is excellent and a good sized bath. The breakfast was ok. Buffet style. Plenty to fill your belly with. Some staff could have been a bit friendlier. The WiFi however was atrocious!! Bulgaria is right up there with the best places in Europe for WiFi. Nobody told Art Plaza.

"Great Location"
AmyYong, 30 Mars 2020

Myself and my partner stayed here in June for 2 nights. The location was excellent, close to the Memorial Park with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops close by. The hotel itself is on a quiet street and is a good base for all of the tourist attractions. I would definitely recommend this hotel as value for money.

"BUSINESS TRIP FOR EXHIBITION"
disar2015, 16 Février 2020

Veru good place for visit the center of the town. Clear room very close to mani street of the town. Very good service from the staff. There is no parking place and you have to find a place by your self around the area which is not very easy

"A very nice boutique hotel located in the center near Vitosha boulevard"
EranP24, 23 Décembre 2019

The staff is very kind and answer all the question politely. The hotel is small, but cozy. The room is comfortable and clean. In our toilet had 2 sinks and a a bidet. The room was very big and contained a nice coffee and a tea spot. The temperature was too high, in my opinion, and I couldn't change because it was controlled by the main A/C system. The room was too dark with no bright lights. The breakfast was good, a lot of food variety. We enjoyed being there.

"Small Butiq hotel, excellent location!"
שלומי א, 21 Octobre 2019

Boutique hotel near Vitusha Boulevard, reasonable and clean rooms, excellent breakfast with great selection, walking distance from most of Sofia's attractions. If we return to Sofia - no doubt to this hotel.

"BEST WESTERN SOFIA BULGARIA"
Aydar S, 10 Juin 2019

terrible hotel! terrible service! I spent 20 minutes at the front desk upon check in until everything was done! I do not recommend this hotel! I put a zero out of five !!! Breakfast I put 1 out of five points! for the first time comes across such a bad hotel! The only plus point of the hotel is its location!

"Great location and service, very good room, fare price."
KONSTANTINOSAthens, 06 Mai 2019

It is centrally located, next to Vitosha Blvd. Friendly and professional staff. Room was nice, clean and well equiped. Breakfast had very good variety, but quality could be better. Price was fare and the wifi was good. The only negative was that curtains were smaller than needed, so plenty of sunlight came in the room early in the morning.

"Great Value Hotel"
123pix, 02 Avril 2019

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay in a suite, which was spacious, well equipped and comfortable, one improvement though would be brighter lighting. The breakfast offered a good selection of hot and cold choices and was kept replenished. Ideal location just minutes from Vitosha Boulevard and main historic sights within walking distance. The hotel staff were extremely helpful with directions and booking some great restaurants in the immediate area. If you are looking for a comfortable hotel in a central location for a reasonable price, this hotel ticks all of those boxes.

"Nice hotel and location"
Sightsee43753443831, 30 Mars 2019

The location of the hotel is ideal with a big pedestrian road with few restaurants just next to it and the subway too. The staff were really nice and helpful with smiles everytime too. The breakfast was satisfying. The rooms were clean. The only two "negative" points were that the central heating was awfully high in our room and they could not decrease the heat when we asked. So we had to open the windows and eventhhough the hotel is in a small street it was a bit noisy sometimes. The other thing is that we found the room a bit small for the price. For the same price or even cheaper you can find other hotels with bigger rooms and as clean as this one too. Maybe not so well located though.

"Excellent location, best breakfast ever!"
Trail39139705893, 28 Mars 2019

The location 100m from the metro station and 50m from the Vitosha Boulevard is brilliant for any visitor. The taxi from the airport is about 15bgn, the tube costs 1.60bgn. Ask for rooms higher up as the road noise can be a problem

"Sofia Best Western Art Plaza"
erikleeindianaUSA, 26 Mars 2019

Stayed 4 nights March 2019. Hotel was clean. Staff was great. Location ideal to walk to city center. Metro 5 minute walk HDK station. perfect for travelers.Breakfast adequate. scrambled eggs, sausages, cheese, yogurt. etc. good with excellent service. There is however quite a bit of street noise. Turned on fan on thermostat and alleviated most of noise. Great stay regardless.

"Second to none customer service"
misnormal, 16 Mars 2019

Stayed for four nights end of February. Manager upgraded us to fifth floor suite due to taxi mix up. All staff were terrific. Thought it may be a continental breakfast but no full breakfast which was varied, hot and delicious. Couldn't fault anything throughout stay - but staff excelled. Perfect location for visiting historic landmarks and street food at nearby Vitosha Boulevard was exquisite. Hotel location ideal for metro and tram stations. Word of advice - taxis from Central Square expensive. Book from hotel - quarter of the price. Will definitely return to this hotel. View from room

"Clean and friendly"
ZoltanK255, 04 Mars 2019

Very clean and frendly hotel. I was on a business trip in Sofia and i spent 3 nights here. Everything was ok! The breakfast was good, but the sausages was a little bit cold. The was fruits, eggs, yoghurts with fresh fruits. The waiter was very friendly as every workers of the hotel. The wi-fi was ok!

"Stylish hotel"
Nats1198, 25 Février 2019

We stayed here for one night before our flight home. This boutique hotel was very stylish and welcoming. We had a king suite which was very spacious and clean. The bed was super comfortable. The large bathroom was fantastic with his and her sinks. The minibar was an added bonus. The location of the hotel was perfect for shopping and restaurants. The NDK metro stop was just 5 minutes walk. As we had early morning flight hotel arranged taxi for our party. These were well priced and efficient. We missed the breakfast due to our early departure so cannot comment on that.

"Clean Convinient Friendly hotel"
disar2015, 18 Février 2019

Hotel in a very good place very clean and good service. Suites are very comfortable. You can visit the center of the town very easy. Breakfast it is very good the staff is very friendly and the service is very good also

"Nice hotel!"
Francesca_C_Rg, 14 Février 2019

This hotel is very nice; very comfortable room (our room had 1 bed and 1 sofa bed for 4 persons), very clean, very nice staff and - the most important thing - it is near main street of Sofia, 2 minutes walk!

"Very Good Small Hotel"
dcsuk, 30 Janvier 2019

We stayed for a city break of 3 nights. The location is excellent for city access. Staff mainly helpful. Bed in double room very comfortable and good size. Toilet / shower clean and well stocked.Very good value for money in winter break. I can recommend this hotel without reservation.

"Very reasonable price, mixed experience"
CKF, 15 Janvier 2019

My husband and I stayed at the Best Western Art Plaza Hotel for two separate nights. We chose this hotel based on a friend's recommendation. Our experience on each night was different, so I shall explain. The hotel in in a neighborhood that may seem a bit off-putting at first glance, but is fine. It is just a two or three minute walk to the large pedestrian street, which is convenient. There is a small check-in counter when you enter, staffed by one. So if you happen to arrive just after a large group, you will wait quite a while to check in. The front desk cannot change money, but there is an ATM on the diagonal corner if you take a right out of the hotel. Our first room was clean, comfortable, and functional. The wifi here was strong. The buffet breakfast begins at 7 am, and we arrived just after 7:30. Apparently this was not a good time, as there were at least 3 empty bins, shriveled fruit, eggs so runny I could not eat them, and stale bread being offered. Perhaps we had the bad luck to arrive after a large group departed. I observed that no replenishing of these bins took place until after 8 am. I took photos of this situation, but the staff member working there was so nice I did not want to post them. He was able to bring me regular black coffee at about 8:20 (the coffee machine did not offer black coffee other than espresso), about the time we were ready to leave. Such a disappointment. Our second room was beautiful--very spacious and, again, comfortable. It was extremely quiet, which we appreciated. However, the wifi was very spotty in this room. I am happy to report that the breakfast the second morning was much more complete and appetizing-looking, and we enjoyed it much more. The bins now had bacon and eggs that were typical consistency. This was a difficult review to write, as our experience was mixed. Overall, the hotel is comfortable and located a short walking distance to most of the main attractions of Sofia. For the rate, it is a good value.

"Excellent Value"
2018Craig, 26 Décembre 2018

Friendly and keen to help. Clean and comfortable rooms with a lot of little extras included. Good breakfast offering. Really good value for money. Situated on a quiet road but within 50m from Vitosha Road (shop lined pedestrian street). About 500m from subway station. We really enjoyed our stay and the good service.

"Nice location, Excellent breakfast, Maintenance may be improved"
Arbeli, 17 Décembre 2018

The hotel is located near the Vitosha blvd. The staff is very responsive and polite. I've enjoyed the all-encompassing Breakfast. Wifi played hard-to-get. The shower drain was blocked even after I've asked for maintenance. The A/C was on heat setting only.

"Great stay"
Ane M, 06 Novembre 2018

This was my second stay at this hotel, and we are already planning to come back next year. The hotel is clean, the breakfast is great, and most important of all, the staff is friendly and serviceminded. The location of the hotel is Perfect, right in the middle of everything but still a quiet area. See you again soon.

"Average hotel-Excellent location"
George265, 22 Octobre 2018

The hotel itself was good. Although we had a suite room, the space was small for such a room. Amenities were good and bathroom was clean. Reception was very helpful, especially Nickolas. Location was excellent, very close to shopping street and the Metro station was just opposite. Finally breakfast was very good.

"Great location and friendly staff"
Adela R, 02 Octobre 2018

Everything worked in this clean hotel. Staff arranged our side trips and made great recommendations of nearby restaurants. Breakfast had a good selection. Room was quiet even though we were on first floor. I definitely would stay here again.

"Convenient to everything"
Petrina H, 17 Septembre 2018

This hotel is tucked away just off the main pedestrian shopping mall. This paved walkway is full of high end shops, tourist shops and many places to eat, at night it really comes alive. All the major tourist attractions are very close, and so is the metro. Metro is very cheap with one price to travel anywhere, even the same to travel all the way to the airport. Room was clean & tidy with bar fridge and tea making facilities. No iron or ironing board was in room but was delivered to us very quickly after requesting one. Breakfast had a good selection. Staff all friendly, most understood English.

"Nice hotel, convenient location"
Jaap v, 28 Août 2018

Conveniently located 2 block from the main shopping street, the nearest metro station and the convention center. Breakfast is OK, served from 7-10 every day. People are nice, but the fixing of problems is a bit lacking. Our fridge didn't work, the the AC does not go below 26 C (or so the thermostat says). Problems weren't fixed

"Great Location Great staff"
concotso, 17 Août 2018

Hotel situated a block away from Vitusha Blvd and central to most Sofia's attractions by foot. The staff provided maps and suggestions on how to get around. Location of hotel ensures most attractions are reached by walking.

"Great hotel, conveniently located"
Jonnysdanceband, 17 Août 2018

Fantastic little hotel with nice rooms & excellent staff. We had 2 children with us & one felt that her mattress was a little uncomfortable- in a trice they had replaced both beds. The staff really could not do enough to help & were extremely friendly. The hotel is centrally located just a 100 yards from the main Vitosha Street with loads of good bars & restaurants close by. We will choose this hotel again next time we are in Sofia.

"Great hotel in excellent location"
angiegreenwood586, 15 Août 2018

Stayed for 3 days at this hotel. It's a small modern hotel situated 5 minutes from the main pedestrian street. It is within walking distance of all the main tourist attractions in the city centre. Rooms are modern and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a good selection. Safety deposit boxes are not available in all rooms, we had one, but our friends never. I believe they do have some available at reception for guests. We got a taxi from the airport which cost 12 lev(6 euro) When you arrive at the airport, go to the OK taxi booth and they will print you out a slip of paper and advise you of the number of the taxi that will transport you. They will also advise you of the approximate cost.

"EUR 60 per night !!! No wonder why."
Vincenzo M, 14 Août 2018

First thing you will notice once you step in the hotel is a very weird smell that will welcome you in your room as well. Both lobby and our bedroom looked like a set for an adult movie. The room size is pretty standard, the hygiene very questionable. We found hair on our bed, the carpet was just disgusting, dirty and full of spots. The bathroom would smell of food in the morning. The safety box wasn't working properly as it needed the batteries to be changed. The staff fixed it very quickly although the person who came in the room tried to convince me repeatedly that there was no problem with the box. Eventually he realised that the safety needed new batteries. The AC did not work throughout the whole staying. Breakfast was quite poor both for choice and quality of food. On the flip side, the coffe was very good. The location great and the staff very helpful.

"lovely hotel"
rowarowa, 09 Août 2018

very nice hotel well located next to vitosha road and to the park. all the staff were excellent, smiley, kind, friendly and helpful. we arrived earlier and they kept our luggages until they prepare our room, which was ready before 14:00. the room (family size) was well decorated(as the whole hotel) very big with one king size bed and a sofa double bed. it was very clean with full fridge, big closet, two(2) tvs with many international chanels(news, documentaries, sports, cartoons ect) kettle, tea, good aircondition. the bathroom was big and there were plenty of soaps, shampoos, towels ect. after checkout we left our luggages at the hotel for about 3 hours. the wifi is free of charge and the signal was ok. the breakfast was very rich with big variety of hot and cold food. we strongly recomment it.

"Good value and central location"
Andrew K, 03 Août 2018

Stayed here for a long weekend. The area outside the hotel is a little shabby but don't be put off by the graffiti on walls opposite walls the hotel as the hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly. It is located a short walk from the main pedestrian street (Vitoshi street), which has a good selection of restaurant and very convenient for the conference centre. The breakfast is more than adequate. A good value place to stay in central Sofia.

"Excellent location , good value hotel"
Karen P, 29 Juillet 2018

Really enjoyed our 4 night stay here... super location on quiet back street but just a couple of minutes walk to the main boulevard; about 15 mins walk to most tourist sites. Clean, comfortable and helpful staff. Breakfast could be described as basic but for the price paid, totally acceptable. Lots of restaurants a few mins walk away but would recommend the 25 min walk to Hadjidraganov's houses for authentic food and music in a delightful setting. Would also recommend asking the hotel to book your taxis as you get a fair price then.. we had a day on Vitosha mountain (45 min drive)with a friendly taxi driver and 3 stop offs ( Boyana Church, a viewpoint and the golden bridges for 80 lev.) A good value comfortable hotel with a convenient location, highly recommended

"Very good place in the old city of Sofia"
Bernard G, 19 Juin 2018

This hotel is very nice and also very well situated in the old city of Sofia. Every place to visit can be reached quickly by foot, except the National History Museum and the Boyana church, located in the south of the city, and reachable by bus.

"Perfect location"
Joachim H, 19 Juin 2018

Qiet hotel in a perfect location just around the corner to the pedestrian shopping and food street Vitosha. Lots of restaurants and bars around. Hotel is clean and quiet with average rooms. Offering good breakfast.

"Great location"
GDane, 18 Juin 2018

Rooms perfectly acceptable, service from reception excellent, from breakfast OK. Location is very near Vitosha Blvd so easy to take a stroll anytime you feel like it. The only complaint would be about the breakfast. Choice was not bad, with both cold and hot items, but they had more or less the same items every day and the quality (bacon all fat "swimming" in oil, coffee very "rough") should be better.

"Good for Business or Tourism"
Catrina S, 13 Mai 2018

I stayed in this hotel in May 2018. I have been to Sofia many times but this was the first time I stayed in this particular hotel. The hotel is in a very good location close to restaurants and tourist spots around Sofia. The hotel has good access for walking or by taxi. The staff was friendly and mostly helpful. The room was adequate and I found the bed to be comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed. The internet worked well in the room. The biggest downside to the room was that the noise from other guests coming and going (and in their rooms) was loud. I did not try the breakfast but they do offer breakfast each morning. I asked if the hotel could change money as I had euros and wanted to buy some leva but they did not offer this service. Most of the large hotel chains in Sofia do offer this type of service. The hotel does not have a gym but during the spring and summer months you can go for a walk around the area. I would stay here again.

"Perfect location."
Björn H, 15 Avril 2018

Nice hotel in a perfect location just a block from the great pedestrian shopping and food street Vitosha with an underground station.. Close to other great eating and food. Great craft beer shops nearby. The great park of the National palace of culture also a block away. The rooms were nice with bathroom, tv. The bed was large but a little on the hard side like so many hotel beds. Breakfast had what you needed, with warm dishes too. The air conditioning didn't give cold air so the temperature was 26 degrees Celsius at night.

"Couldn't fault stay"
John W, 17 Mars 2018

Had a short break four day stay here. Genuinely couldn't fault it, central, quiet, good breakfast but above all, Polini the receptionist was extremely professional and helpful and for would stay here again.

"When they sell your room and try to convince you that there was an "electrical problem" "
Silvia U, 16 Mars 2018

We arrived yesterday night from asenovgrad... Business trip.. 10 people... The first ones had room, but for the last 4....oh surprise... There had been a problem... Bla Bla Bla... They selled our rooms... Even having paid for them 2months ago... Their solution to send us to another of their hotels... Like 2km from there... A shame... A total lack of profesionality... The other option was to have our money refunded and to look for a room (22:00 of the night)... We booked that hotel because it was in the center and finally we had to sleep in a hotel far away from the center close to a noisy Road... Thank you best Western art plaza... You totally spoiled our mini trip to Sofia ??

"Comfy Hotel"
Caroline N, 11 Mars 2018

Good location for the main road. Rooms and staff very nice. Breakfast a bit hit and miss, but not bad really for the price. Only thing missing on a business trip is a bar and restaurant which would be nice in the evenings to then not have to go out.

"Great Hotel, would be my first choice when/if we are back in Sofia!"
mandy939, 26 Février 2018

I chose this hotel based on reviews, my first priorities (other than cleanliness) were location and price. Secondly, breakfast availability. The hotel exceeded expectations. I knew in advance it was close to Metro stops, I knew there were restaurants around, and that it had breakfast included. What I didn´t realize is how GREAT the restaurants are around, pharmacy within two minutes (I needed it one day), mini-markets 24/7 on the block. Tram station around the corner. The room was good. Clean, towels changed, beds made, etc. The room was small, but the bed was HUGE! I would guess 180/200?? Super comfortable too. Loads of pillows. My only complaint is that we could hear people talking in the hallways, and it woke me up twice. That said, the pros of this hotel far outweigh that one con, husband didn´t hear it. Nice to have the mini-bar, wi-fi, and small fridge (mini-bar) in the room. Also, if one gets up before 7 (breakfast is 7-10 7 days a week), there is a coffee maker in room. The bathroom, as others have noted, in the standard room, is small. No bathtub, but, whatever. Clean, and lotion, shampoo, soap, etc. provided. It´s a Bulgarian shower, deal with the fact that you may flood the floor. There is a drain in the floor for that purpose. Breakfast was great. I only take coffee in the morning (really good there). Husband, however, loved that it had great choices (bacon, sausages, eggs, yogurt, fruit, dried fruit, breads, cheese), but not soo many choices that it was overwhelming. They also do not skimp on quality foods (per him). Staff was incredible. SUPER friendly, super helpful. 24/7 front desk.

"Sofia"
Chris R, 07 Février 2018

Good central Hotel, close to many restaurants and bars. Also close to ndk metro line.friendly staff, Which is always a good thing .Breakfast not too good but you can't expect a proper Scottish breakfast in Sofia haha.

"Excellent boutique style hotel"
mmfeica, 29 Décembre 2017

Conveniently located only 15min drive from airport and close to city centre, this hotel is cozy, nice and super clean. The staff speak English and are all very friendly and helpful. Nice buffet style breakfast with a great choice of foods. Comfy bed, clean bathroom, modern rooms - it's got everything you need. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others!

"Perfectly situated"
Pat B, 23 Octobre 2017

Just off Vitoshka Boulevard you couldn't be more central to all the main sites. Room was nice, bathroom modern with good shower, beds comfy. Breakfast maybe not the best but perfectly adequate. We would recommend quite happily. Reception staff were helpful and always had a smile

"Enjoyed it!"
Lilith808, 01 Octobre 2017

We went to the hotel thinking we made a reservation online but apparently I messed up the months when booking. They tried everything possible to accommodate us. We got upgraded to a suite .We really enjoyed the room layout. The furniture was new, the kitchen was updated. We didn't have any problems at our stay. The only bad thing was the none working elevators but the staff from the hotel helped us getting our bags to the last floor. The hotel has a very nice location too. Definitely a place to keep in mind!

"WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!"
dominika j, 30 Septembre 2017

Me and my bussiness partners booked a room through booking.com in this hotel for one night on the 28th of september. We paid the room right away a week earlier. We arrived at the hotel at 7pm and then the receptioner Aleksandar told us that the hotel was overbooked and transferred us at another hotel. This hotel we paid for was located in the centre of the city, but the one they transferred us was outside the city (we had to pay for taxi from our pocket). The receptioner Aleksandar was very unpleasant and started an argument with us. DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL!!!

"Reasonable value for money"
cwiistrm, 22 Septembre 2017

Friendly reception. Bathroom okay, although one of us experienced that toilet paper fell of the wall. We had to explain a few times that we wanted extra blankets. Breakfast was good, except for the coffee.

"Great value for money"
MikeESC, 21 Septembre 2017

I arrived to the hotel 2 hours before check-in and was allowed to leave my bags and I was given a map of the city by a very nice and helpful receptionist Sabrina on which she highlighted recommendations I asked for, regarding where to go for lunch, exchange money, etc. and all of them were really good places. When I came back from a small walk around the Vitosha boulevard (which is just next to the hotel, as well as underground station, amazing location!) my room was ready and I was pleasantly surprised. The room seemed bigger than on the pictures, it was not huge but perfectly enough for me as a solo traveler and I wouldn't mind it for 2 people either unless you're planning to stay all the time in the room, which I don't believe should be the case in such a vibrant city like Sofia! The bed sheets were clean, service always made up my bed, maybe the bathroom could have been cleaned more precisely but it was really good anyway. One thing for anybody complaining about the curtain of the shower being too short - in most of Bulgarian properties they don't have any kind of cabins or curtains, all the water goes to the hole in the middle of a bathroom, so that's not a poor service, it's just local habits. Also, there is one more person I want to mention, receptionist Yasen (if I remember the name correctly), booked my taxis for a night out, also gave me a lot of information and advice about one particular place I wanted to go to, did everything with really friendly attitude. Finally, the decor is up to one's taste, for me it looked really nice (especially as for a 3-star), you can always look at the pictures before you book. The only minor thing - the breakfast was a bit poor, small selection and it could have been presented better but it didn't impact my stay anyway as I had it only once on the last day of my stay, the weather and the city were way too beautiful to not go out for a morning meal outside! Also, sometimes you could hear occasional noise from outside but even despite its close location to Vitosha boulevard, during the night it's surprisingly calm as the hotel is on a small, quiet street, which just happens to be really close to the boulevard. Overall - great stay, helpful staff, very good location and it definitely was value for money.

"Really nice hotel in Sofia"
Eric K, 31 Août 2017

This a nice hotel with good rooms and facilities in a good location if you feel inclined to walk or shop in Sofia. The bakeries and cheese shops around the hotel are all to be recommended. The shower and sleep in bed were all very refreshing being on the last day of a tiring tour of the Balkans.

"Ideal hotel for me"
kemsa51, 16 Août 2017

I booked this hotel for a 5 night stay based upon reviews and I found it to be an excellent choice for my trip. The Art Plaza Hotel isn't a "full service" hotel, mainly due to the lack of a restaurant (more on that later). Location: Located on a quiet side street, the hotel is very centrally located. it is is only a block away from Blvd Vitosha, a pedestrian street lined with shops of all kinds. There are plenty of parks, museums and restaurants within walking distance. It is also a 2-3 minute walk to the subway station. The majority of places I wanted to visit in the city were within walking distance Arrival and Lobby: I arrived late at night and the front desk clerk was very friendly. I speak no Bulgarian but thankfully she spoke great English. During the check-in process she provided me with a city tourism map and pointed out some of the spots that I might want to see. She also gave me information about the hotel and gave me my key (a real key, no key cards here). Some of my luggage did not make it to Sofia with me but thankfully there were complimentary toiletries available in the lobby. The lobby is small but has plenty of seating. Next to the lobby is the breakfast area. The elevator is extremely small so if you are part of a larger group of pack everything except the kitchen sink, it might take a couple trips. That said, I never had to wait more than a minute or so for the elevator. Room: My room was the perfect size for me. It was typical of other hotel rooms that I have stayed at in Europe; compact but comfortable. Although there was a thermostat in the room, it didn't seem to do much. I never managed to get the room as cool as I wanted however the nights were cool and the window opened all the way so I managed to survive. There was a well stocked (and surprisingly reasonably priced) minibar as well as a kettle with coffee and tea. The bathroom was equipped with a large tub and shower. Due to the location of the tub, water from the shower would leak onto the floor but this really wasn't an issue for me as there is a drain in the center of the floor. Hot water was readily available with no wait. The bed was big enough for 2 people so I had plenty of room to stretch out. I like a firm mattress so it was perfect for me. There were plenty of pillows. The comforter was heavy and comfortable. Some reviews that I read complained about street noise however I never noticed this. Wifi is free and the signal in my room was solid. Dining: As I said, the hotel does not have a full service restaurant or bar however he dining area does have a decent breakfast buffet in the morning. The buffet had hot and cold items: breads, scrambled eggs, fruit, yogurt, meats and cheeses etc. There is brewed coffee as well as an espresso machine and juices. The Bottom Line: This was a great mid-range hotel; quiet, comfortable and safe. Every employee that I interacted with was friendly, had a big smile and (thankfully) spoke English. The location is perfect for exploring the city. The lack of a full service restaurant means that lunch and dinner require a trip to a restaurant but luckily there are within walking distance. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! I rate it a 5/5 based on service, location and value. It isn't the Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons but it doesn't pretend to be.

"Good location, helpful staff"
Rowena A, 03 Août 2017

Visiting Sofia for first time with daughter and two grandchildren. Suite was ideal, as we had children with us used taxi to get to cathedral area, hotel booked this, therefore were not ripped off as price is set, beware picking up taxis in town ask the hotel to give you an idea of costs, otherwise you maybe overcharged. Lots of little restaurants and main shopping precinct close by, staff really helpful.

"Great location, but avoid during summer!"
585jaskarans, 18 Juillet 2017

Positives: Great location, close to metro station and Vitosha main street Good breakfast Comfortable beds Helpful staff Negatives: Air conditioning did not work for two days and we were roasting in the summer heat Bathtub was leaking at the bottom, wetting the washroom Water flow in the shower was weak For the price, thought we should have had better room quality No parking No swimming pool

"weekend away with with 8 lads 40-50's"
Duffys030875, 11 Juillet 2017

this hotel was in an ideal place 100yards away from the main area in Sofia. although we were only there for 3 nights we could have stayed much longer, the rooms were perfect or 4 adults sharing each room and cleaned on a daily basis with new towels etc each day even with it being a weekend trip. no hassle good placement and cheap, brilliant all around experience. the breakfast is a continental at best but the food is amazing everywhere locally

"Excellent Location, Very Nice Staff"
LAM487, 10 Juillet 2017

I was unsure as to what part of Sophia I should stay. I settled on this and it worked out very well for me. The hotel is at a central location, a short 50 yards walk to the main pedestrian street - Vitosha Blvd. The pedestrian street is lined with restaurants and bars of all types. It will service all of your needs. At the opposite end of the ped. street lies the Ministry of Justice where you can hook up with free and other walking tours that I would highly recommend. Breakfast was ample and covered all of the usual fare. Service was always with a smile. The computer in the lobby was available to you to communicate and print up you boarding pass. Maps, information and more was available to you at all hours of the day. All in all, I would highly recommend and would gladly stay there again.

"Good hotel.. but please get taller bedsheets.."
icepick80, 02 Juillet 2017

I booked this hotel a few hours before my arrival and my primary reason for picking this hotel was it's location. The staff was very friendly at checkin, the theme of the public areas in the hotel is rather dark in color but everything seems to have been refurbished. I had booked a small upgrade from the default and the room size was okay. Only too bad I didn't have any view from the room. Bathroom was "ok".. it had a bathtub and a shower curtain. I usually prefer walk in showers for hotels but it was all very clean. Breakfast was wel presented and plenty of choice. The girl working the breakfast area was very friendly and cheerful. The only thing I didn't like in this hotel was the fact that my bedsheets were a bit too short (see photo) so I ended up pulling them up myself. Not a big deal, but somehow I don't feel like sleeping on a matras without a sheet.. even if it's for a little piece. Besides that.. good hotel and certainly would recommend it!

"Excellent service and location"
iliapan, 21 Juin 2017

I stayed at the hotel several times and I am going back there this summer. The hotel is very clean, the staff is fantastic and really helpful, the service is amazing. Even though it is located in downtown Sofia, the hotel is on a quiet corner, steps away from the subway station and within walking distance to the major landmarks of the city, as well as lots of cafes and restaurants. Breakfast is abundant and delicious. The hotel is always my first choice when I am in Sofia.

"Excellent location and friendly staff"
hel_kennedy, 19 Juin 2017

The hotel is located just off the main shopping street and about 30 minutes from the airport via metro. It's a small and simple hotel with very friendly and welcoming staff. We really appreciated the 24 hours concierge considering our flight arrived at 1am. Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was better than expected. With it being fairly central, it was a little noisy at times. The bathroom could do with updating however as the shower curtain didn't quite cover the area completely which meant a lot of the floor got wet. The towels could have been a little softer but all in all a nice stay in the heart of Sofia. The hotel can also pick you up from the airport if you are arriving late - it's a good idea as I don't trust the taxi companies!!

"Wonderful hotel just a horrible, embarrassing incident when checking out"
colleencanberra, 11 Juin 2017

I loved the hotel. Received an upgrade to a corner room. Very clean and just the right size. Breakfast was plentiful and I enjoyed the food. The hotel is just around the corner from the main walking street and just up from the train station, great position. Even had a complimentary bottle of wine in my room. My son and I enjoyed the drinks and I had bought some peanuts etc on my walks so we had a lovely pre dinner drink in my room before heading out to dinner. On checking out we were charged for things from the mini bar in my room. I think they just looked at the empty packets and thought they were from the mini bar. My son had to sign a declaration that I hadn't taken anything from the mini bar. What a shame this happened as we had had a fantastic time in Sophia and enjoyed our time at the hotel. The incident was embarrassing. I am still giving the hotel a high rating even with the mini bar incident and hope something like this will not happen to any other guest. My son had already given a great review before we checked out of the hotel and was sorry he had done the review so early.

"A Nice Place!"
zmanCalifornia, 18 Mai 2017

This mid-range hotel suited my needs nicely, with its friendly staff and excellent location. Though it's on a small street, the neighborhood is quiet, and there are double pane windows, a huge plus for a light sleeper like me! My only complaint, for my eight night stay in room 304, would be the bathroom. Besides the bathroom smelling gamey at times, the shower curtain allows water to get out onto the floor. Also the shower drains slowly. I reported this to reception, who said it was always like that.

"Except for the drinking glass..."
n2history, 12 Mai 2017

I stayed here on business for four days. The room was a decent size, recently updated and everything in good working order. The staff was friendly, the breakfast buffet (included) had a wide variety and was good quality (somewhere between a Northern European hotel and an American breakfast "buffet"). Everything during the stay pointed to a 4/5 review except for the day I discovered that the cleaning staff had returned my dirty drinking glass to the clean glass area. It was upside down sitting with a second drinking glass and the coffee cups. And it was obviously dirty. It made me wonder what else was put back dirty that I expected to be clean. I hate that feeling.

"How a hotel should be"
Paul C, 09 Mai 2017

Complimentary bottle of wine in our rooms; tastefully decorated & large comfy bed; reasonable breakfast and really friendly service. Plus the location is great being central and near to the NDK station for airport transfers. I could not fault it, and would likely stay here again if I came back to town.

"Great location, great room, great staff"
hfwatson, 17 Avril 2017

I stayed four nights over Easter in a "comfort room". The room was spacious - a very comfortable double bed with clean and comfortable linen and great pillows, armchair, desk and two sitting chairs. The staff were ever so nice, friendly and helpful. Location couldn't have been better for my needs - a short walk from the Palace of Culture where it was nice to sit in the gardens on the sunny days. The metro NDK was a couple of minutes walk from the hotel, which is located at the bottom of the main shopping street "Vitosha". Vitosha is lined with restaurants but also, a short walk in the other direction is Sredets neighbourhood where there are good bars, cafes, and restaurants too. Franco's Pizza across the street from the hotel was really good and cheap if you're looking for something a bit closer. Breakfast was good, buffet style, the usual few hot dishes & continental options - open 7.30-10am. The only thing that I would note is the smell of drains that sometimes wafted out of the bathroom. It wasn't overwhelming and there was an air freshener - it isn't a complaint, just something to note - I just made sure the door was shut

"Great location, service and price."
Bfords, 15 Avril 2017

We recently stayed here for four nights, as a family of four. We were on the 5th floor in a suite with a balcony. The hotel was clean and rooms were of a good size. The bathroom and layout was spacious and the balcony an added extra. The air conditioning did not appear to work but two large patio doors assisted in keeping the room cool at night. It was probably as we're British that the 23 degree weather felt very warm and that the hotel did not have this switched on so early in the season. Breakfast was typical continental buffet, cereals, breads, cakes, warm eggs/ham/mushrooms. Plenty of space at breakfast, it is offered from 7am until 10am. Excellent location approx 30m from Vitoshia street, this is the main pedestrian shopping street. The hotel is located a 2 minute walk from NRK (G)? Metro station, easy to use automated machines 80p for a one way trip. We used this once to get to the bus station for a trip to Plovdiv. We then took the train back. The Sofia Mall is a 20 minute walk from the main shopping area, plenty of shops in each street and newsagents for drinks/snacks. We did the Free Sofia tour on the first day, this was a really good way to get your bearings and learning local history. For three hours we walked around and gave a donation to assist the students/Sofia tour. Weather was stunnning and Sofia felt very safe. We were warned about pickpockets, but this is advice for all tourists. The Made in Home restaurant is at the end of the street and is very filling with a good choice of food and wine. The Ale house next road, is not really that nice. There are plenty of other restaurants and cafes with more pleasant surroundings. The taxi from the airport to the hotel tool around 25 minutes as we got a great taxi driver who took us on a tour, the price was fixed at 11leva (£7.50) so he did not charge us for this. He pointed out local sights and places to visit, and was really helpful. The taxi on the return journey was the same price and took approx 17 minutes from the hotel to terminal 2. Overall, a great location with good clean accommodation. We would go back to this hotel.

"Compact and Compact"
Sn0rkey, 10 Avril 2017

This is a compact hotel near the NDK metro and situation on a quiet backstreet near the main shopping and eating drag in Sofia. literally 5 minutes from the metro stop and maybe 20 minutes from the Airport on the convenient and modern Sofia metro system for 1.8 lev - a truly easy transfer for tired arrivals after a 6.00 flight from Stansted. This is a neither luxury nor budget- you will not get a pool and spa, a selection of resturants including Mexican and Thai, fluffy dressing gowns or a hot stone massage in the adjoining heath club. You do however get a well priced hotel that has a delightful location for most Sofia activities you will be involved in. The staff are very helpful and speak excellent English- assisting with car rental and a move to another hotel on our last day as they were fully booked and could not accommodate our late change of plans. City maps are available at the counter if needed. We did have a little issue as our online booking for the double bed was only for one named person whereas there were 2 of us and we were required to pay extra 10 EUR p/n for a second person- never had to pay extra for 2 people on a double room before- annoying but not the end of the world The standard rooms are not big at all, but unless you intend to spend a ton of time there, they do the job. just. .Clean and with comfortable beds, big flat screen telly with a cavalcade of Bulgar and Western European channels and a basic but adequately stocked mini bar with not outrageous prices. And the all important tea and coffee making facilities. Bathroom was perfectly acceptable , with a shower rather than a tub and an oddly high toilet that shorter visitors may find uncomfortable as their feet may be dangling in the air. WiFi works well across the property - which was useful for facetiming the rest of our party who were 3 floors away and the room 'phone was down. The lift is miniscule and barely takes 3 people Breakfast is OK, the coffee not bad for a chain hotel but there is virtually no space in the miniscule dining room- 6 tiny tables are crammed into the room , but once one is occupied the other 5 are virtually unusable as there is no space to squeeze past to get to the array of standard breakfast buffet fare. This may sound petty, but the entire breakfast room was a non stop show of people getting up to allow others to get past. Not very restful or relaxing and took the shine of the experience. The Area is quiet enough to leave the windows open at night - which is handy as we found the room too hot and were unwilling to use the A/C as it seems wasteful and disruptive. Well priced, well located, easy to get to and acceptable. Annoying breakfast arrangement and an extra person charge. Compact and compact.

"Very welcoming, comfortable hotel, with extremely helpful staff."
PeteJR62, 07 Avril 2017

We stayed for one night on our way to Bansko. We wanted first to revisit the capital city for the first time since 1997. There was a lot of snow around when we arrived, but we found the hotel (so close to public transport) having taken the train from the airport. This is very cheap and very fast. The lady on reception could not have been more helpful, and our room was very clean and comfortable. We were advised on a few places we could go to eat, and we found a perfect cafe bar only a few minutes walk away. Perfect. Breakfast was plentiful, with a good choice. The only problem was that the hot food servers had been turned off (9am) so the hot items were cold. There was plenty of other choices though. A very enjoyable and relaxing start to our visit. Would definitely stay again.

"G8 location & staff"
brendan r, 05 Avril 2017

It is one minute from the heart of Sofia and ticks all of our boxes i.e. quiet for sleeping, comfortable, close to the centre and wonderful staff. Will definitely return and have no hesitation in recommending it to one and all.

"Great Stay"
skellyjc, 01 Mars 2017

Nothing to complain about, the airport transfers were fantastic. The room was clean and everyone at the hotel was friendly. The breakfast was nice with plenty of choice. I would stay here again when I visit Sofia.

"Great no fuss hotel in Sofia centre"
markhartley10, 23 Février 2017

A small to medium sized, efficiently and friendly run hotel just off the main central shopping street. The city centre is 5-10 mins walk with plenty of restaurants and bars within a couple of minutes. The desk staff were very helpful with booking taxis. Everything is clean and comfortable. There's plenty of choice at breakfast. Alround excellent hotel to act as a base in Sofia.

"Nice Hotel, Good Location"
walker201515, 14 Novembre 2016

The Art Plaza Hotel is located a couple of blocks from one of the main streets in Sofia, and is very close to shopping and a nice park. Rooms are regular sized and nice. Hotel breakfast buffet was much nicer than expected. Staff was helpful and spoke English.

"Standard hotel- good for city break"
123Jakub1, 07 Novembre 2016

Hotel has a perfect location- it is close to metro and city center- all major attractions are easily reached on foot. Room was ok, beds are comfortable. Safe is missing, which is a huge problem- hotel of this caregory must have a safe in the room. Breakfast are standard, nothing exceptional, but would feed you. Stuff is friendly, however very slow. It is a good hotel, if you go to a city break in Sofia, it is a good choice with great location.

"Average to good "
Lasko J, 02 Novembre 2016

The rooms are in average size, little more comfortable than more European hotel rooms. The hotel is clean, good variety of breakfast food. The only disadvantages is that there is no drinks and refreshments in the lobby.

"Good location, bad maintenance"
Lucien P, 02 Novembre 2016

Located close to the Metro and Vitosha shopping boulevard. Noisy breakfast room, with music sometimes at near-discotheque volume. Large top-floor suite, but with a toilet that has leaked each time I have stayed there. I was charged once for mini bar drinks I had not used.

"Worms in the room"
icetealemon, 25 Octobre 2016

Needed one night sleep over in Sofia, and when I saw a good deal on booking.com (36 EUR instead of 110 EUR per night) immediately booked this hotel in central location. Arrived late, directly from the airport after travelling for 15 hours. Check in was nice, without any problems. Room was small, but that's not a problem - I'm there just to sleep. Nice surprise - there is cattle in the room, so I can make myself tea before falling asleep. As it happens, I started boiling and decided to do quick exercises to do something good for my back after such a long trip. As I lay on the floor, I recognize that it is rather dirty. I just put my hand down and picked up one of the dirt particles, and nearly screamed in disgust: it was an actual live worm. I jump up and look around, and hell yes - there are at least 5 big fat white live worms around the bed. Ugh. Went to reception, girl was very sweet and immediately gave me another room. Which was nice and clean. However, in the morning I get an email from booking.com saying that hotel marked me as "no show". Beg on pardon, what now?! Seriously, too many problems for one night sleep over. So, during checkout I ask to refund this stay. The Operations Manager comes out and hits me with already prepared story: he was inspecting room 1 hour before my arrival, it was clean, and apparently, I brought the worms with myself. That's right, I didn't manage even to open my bag in that room, but surely big fat worms travelled with me all the way to make me acquittance in this hotel. As I conclude to my astonishment that this is his word against mine, he just kills me telling that he has 22 years of experience in this business, and I have made mistake to request to compensate me for such experience as this is "not the way it goes". Well, I do have 10 years of travelling experience. This year I was on the road for 166 days. But I will admit, I am lacking of that experience that this Operations Manager showed: I have never faced worms in the room before. Come to think about it, I never had such a bad experience that I would want to ask for refund. First time, and obviously he can see that he can beat me up. His word against mine. I have proof of worms in the room, but I cannot prove it was there before I came in. Amazing. So, if you are lucky and you get a proper clean room - this hotel is nice. If you are not that lucky, you will be accused and made feel filthy just for being there. Disgusting.

"very nice place to stay"
michalak42, 17 Octobre 2016

Hotel is two steps from boulevard Vitosha, which in fact is the city centre. You can reach everything on food. Staff is extremely polite, kind and nice. If you are going to visit Sofia do not hesitate Art Plaza is the best choice.

"Comfortable and good location, poor breakfast"
jrb-4, 25 Septembre 2016

The room was noisy from internal noise coming from other rooms and also externally - especially on week days - as it is a busy street and, even with no windows open, there seemed to be no noise insulation. A comfortably appointed room, though a small wardrobe. Just about ok for a 1 or 2 night stay. Magnifying mirror and hairdryer provided. Very poor breakfast.

"Poor service in a nice hotel"
MoonPatroll, 22 Septembre 2016

This could be a lovely hotel just a minute away from the main commercial street in the center of Sofia: Vitosha Boulevard if not for the service. No kindness, no smile, no recognition of Diamond level in BW programme Rewards. Lack of initiative and commitment of the staff. Treating guests as a nuisance. Breakfast below any standards. Unpleasant service. Despite asking for supplement the empty plates (there were most of such) - no reaction. Other products in negligible choice and inedible. Stale bread. The room was fine, spacious with a great terrace. Comfortable bed apart from not comfy extra bed. The equipment was fine. Wifi worked well. Air conditioning OK. Ugly interior - but it is the matter of taste so i won't complain about it. Sofia itself is a very nice city. I highly recommend visiting the city and Bulgaria as well. I will come back to Bulgaria and Sofia with a pleasure but I will definitely choose a different hotel.

"Very close to Vitosha Boullevard and main history attractions."
TPhappytraveller81, 20 Septembre 2016

We had an upgrade room, the room was nice and very clean. All the hotel employees at the reception were very nice and helpfull.Good breakfast. This hotel has a wonderful location only 5 minutes walking to Vitosha boulevard and main history attractions.

"good stay"
cheerfull12, 19 Septembre 2016

very clean & helpful staff stayed they for 7+1 nights on the return for the 1 night my room was up graded the transport was very near so was the shops & restaurants good tip to validate your transport ticket or will get a 20 lev find by the inspector there are no signs to say you to do it

"Good central accomodation"
Cosmin B, 13 Septembre 2016

The hotel is very close to Vitosha Boulevard and to the Central park of Sofia in a quiet area. the rooms are nice and clean but some upgrades can be made to the showers where the curtains are not in the best shape. There is some bad odour coming from the sewage system but the Hotel employees told me that it's because of some works that are ongoing in the area and will be solved soon. The doors are not that soundproofed so you can hear clearly when others are talking on the hallway. Other than that the restaurant is great and the personnel is very amiable.

"Best weston…..more like worst western!"
SamanthaReidUK, 08 Septembre 2016

Where do I start. Our double bed was actually two beds pushed together. The room was dimly lit and dated. The bathroom suite was in a time warp with curtains that my nan wouldn't even have up! My main gripe however is that the hotel was dirty…. They housekeeping didn't clean the bathroom thoroughly and to my absolute horror the breakfast room was pretty rank to be honest. The tables weren't cleared, the cups were heavily stained where they haven't been cleaned properly, I picked up a plate – feeling something underneath I flipped it over to find crusty food stuck to the bottom. The cereal decanter lids were thick with dust and grime, the hot water machine was broken and the there was no bread one day one, then no clean plates on day two. Although these were replenished eventually, the staff working here were not competent enough to do their job efficiently without being prompted. The breakfast set up was just dirty and unappetising and with food and crumbs and stains on every table, this didn't make a good impression at all. Having travelled around the country staying at several hotels, and having stayed with Best Weston in the past, this is NOT what I would expect from a well known chain. To be honest, I was horrified. To boot you didn't even acknowledge that we were on honeymoon. very poor indeed. Note to Best Weston in Sofia….. Pick up the slack its frankly not good enough.

"A pleasant and convenient hotel."
Ander-Laurie, 01 Septembre 2016

I stayed in this hotel on my recent visit to Sofia. The room was clean and well equipped. The bed was very, very comfortable. The wifi connection was excellent. I found the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a buffet and plenty of it, too. The coffee was strong enough to raise the dead. I left for a day of touring well rested and energized by that cup of coffee. I'd stay again and recommend it to friends.

"Not recommended - Unpleasant stay"

First of all the price: 90€ per double room per night with breakfast is not cheap for a 3 star hotel in Sofia, you can find better solutions. The room was extremely tiny (just the space to move around the bed). The bathroom even worse. The shower curtain too short so that every time we had a shower water come out to the room. Washbasin microscopic. Room looked very old and even bed linen appears too much used and old as you can see from the pictures. When you arrive it is your responsibility to check that all drinks listed on the sheet are present in the mini bar otherwise you have to pay in case something is missing (see photo) Position was good as other gust are saying but this is not enough to justify above remarks, especially if you consider how much cheap taxis are in Sofia. What's even worse is that, just like some one else wrote, is that when you leave the room before they allow you to go, they send someone in the room to check that everything is fine, that you didn't take anything from minibar or stole some thing. This is UNACCEPTABLE. I travel every week for business and this is the first time something like this happens to me.

"Art Plaza overnight stay"
TheIncredibleMrH, 28 Août 2016

We arrived at the hotel fairly late at night due our coach being delayed. The hotel is located just off the main boulevard in the centre and very easy to find (looks for purple 'HOTEL' neon lights). We walked from the coach station (around 30 mins). I wouldn't recommend walking with luggage after dark around the bus station as we were approached by a group of Romani men and felt very intimidated as we stuck out like a sore thumb! However once we reached the main strip it was very pleasant and had a great atmosphere. Great room, a little on the small side, but very much worth the money! We had to check out at 4am and the staff happily prepared some breakfast and coffee for us as we would have missed the inclusive breakfast. Reception booked our taxi to the airport and was around 12 leva. Great stay, great hotel!

"Pleasant stay in Sofia!!!"
dorianneabela86, 12 Août 2016

Pleasant stay at the very centre of sofia. Staff was very helpful and communicated well in English. Rooms were clean, wifi worked well in the room provided. Room was slightly small but it was recently renovated and very clean. Breakfast was good!!! Highly recommended!!

"Nice small hotell"
Anna H, 28 Juillet 2016

Unique location. Helpful, friendly and kind staff. Cleanliness is a level rooms are spacious and comfortable, furnished with style. Breakfast is very rich and diverse. Excellent ratio between quality and price.

"Small budget room"
nirav71, 27 Juillet 2016

Location is the best part of this hotel, just 2 mins away from shopping and food places and Ugo which is a 24 hrs cafe. Staff at hotel is nice polite and helpful. Breakfast is nothing much but this hotel is good value for money.

"All you need at the right price"
eurillio, 21 Juillet 2016

The hotel is not new at all, but the price is perfect for the location. In 20 meters you will be in the center of the pedestrian life, the main street full of restaurants and bar. Very nice for people watching activity.

"Great small budget hotel very close to Vitosha Blvd"
miamicha, 19 Juillet 2016

Great price for money, extremely helpful front desk. Just one block away from Vitosha and at walking distance to Sofia's major attractions. Good for families. Minor problem with the shower at room A44. Nice breakfast. Beware of parking on the street! Blue zone!

"Not bad, not great either"
Maria B, 10 Juin 2016

The good parts: location is great. Only a few minutes walk to the city center. The aspect of the hotel is interesting and our room was quite beautiful (a nice shade of purple). Bed was pretty comfortable as well. Staff was ok on the friendliness level. The bad parts: there was a strange smell in the room, no idea why, because the room was very clean. The parking was expensive and we had the feeling we were ripped-off.

"AVOID AT ALL COSTS"
moschino24_98, 09 Juin 2016

I booked this hotel over a month in advance. On arrival i was told the hotel is over booked 9 June - McEvoy . They didnt offer any graphology or compensation. Just told me an alternative hotel is secured. No information where is the new hotel and the name. After arriving in the new hotel called BW Lozenetz , i realized the location of the new hotel is very far from my meeting location which was on Angel Kantchev st. Do not trust this property and avoid at all costs. . Sofia has so many options to chose from. Never again.

"Nice small hotell near restaurants and bars."
Tempore, 11 Mai 2016

I was here for 2 days on business trips. The hotell is located 15-25 minutes from the Airport which is good. The location is really good if you want to live close to the aveny with all the restaurants and bars. And 20 meters from the hotel you have an local beer maker. The rooms was clean and nice, normal size. If you want spectacular view from your window then this hotell is not for you. But if you want an hotell close to the center which is nice and for a good price - then this is a good choice.

"Average Hotel in Sofia"
Nicholas_Yanica, 26 Avril 2016

Bad- Definitely not a 3 star hotel. The rooms have a bit of smell maybe of the fitted carped not cleaned also bathroom the sink was leaking water on the floor. Breakfast was quite small. The hotel service was average too. Rooms want to be renovated for sure. The wall are so thin that you can hear everything what the guest on the same floor is doing. Good - Not expensive, Location, good wifi

"Trip to Sofia"
Petros K, 21 Avril 2016

The hotel is ideal!! very good prices, exactly in the city center and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Sofia is a great place to visit with you family or with friends. I wouldn't recommend though for young couples. There are a few good sightseeing and nightlife. I think 2-3 days are more than enough to explore it, since is a small city. The zoo is really nice with many different animals. Overall it was very cheap. Hotel, meals, etc.

"This hotel deserves a 2. beware"
Yaneev L, 06 Avril 2016

I'll start with the location as it's the only good thing I can think of. It's a 2 min. walk from the central street of Vitosha loaded with restaurants bars and shops. I got a room on the 1st floor, it's very low and felt like I'm sleeping right on the pavement of the street. NOISY! windows are not double paneled and you can hear everything, walls are not soundproof either. could hear every step of the next door rooms. Rooms are small and outdated. hardly any closet room, and barely room between the end of the bed and the wall to pass. Breakfast is extremely minimal with a very small selection, low quality.

"Fantastic hotel in centre of Sofia"
Håkon Y, 30 Mars 2016

I stayed in this hotel for nine days this easter. I can't judge the other rooms, but I had a suite on the fifth floor, two large rooms, very comfortable, and to a very cheap price compared with other large cities. The breakfast was excellent. The main pedestrianized street was just around the corner. Everything was perfect with this hotel.

"Downtown and new."
jonmarini, 30 Mars 2016

Newly refurbished rooms very confortable. This hotel Is downtown. Reception not very big and not prestigious to arrange business meeting. Terrace in fifth Floor for smokers. Service Very kind. Rooms very Well cleaned. Wi-Fi working on every Floor. Suggested for short visits in Sofia.

"One night stop over in Sofia"
dottied68, 02 Mars 2016

We chose to stay in Sofia before heading to Bansko as our flight arrived really late. On arrival at 3am we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful receptionist. Our room was really clean and tidy, plenty of space as we had our 10 year old daughter with us, she was on the sofa bed. Plenty of choice at breakfast which was included in the price. We'd have been happy to stay there for several nights, the location is good, just steps away from Vitosha Boulevard. Our only niggle was that it was incredibly hot and stuffy, welcome when the weather is cold but it was unseasonably mild outside!

"Good breakfast, excellent location"
kerttu2015, 21 Février 2016

Hotel is located right next to bustling pedestrian street full of nice restaurants, cafés and shops. Metro station is also right behind corner. Breakfast was good buffet. Room was quite small and hotel simple, but classy and clean.

"Worth the price, Right in the centre of Sofia"
Saransh G, 17 Février 2016

The hotel is right in the centre of Sofia. Very well located, just 10-20 meters from the main walking street .. The hotel serves average breakfast.. This hotel has not many rooms but it has good room .. It has really staff .. The hotel staff was always very friendly and helpful.. Special mention of Mr. Dmitrov (Mitko) who was at the reception when I arrived late night. Helped me a lot.. was his 03rd or 04th day at the hotel .. Was clever to reply to questions .. I arrived late so ordered food for me .. .. Keep it up

"Greate value for money"
ivangradjanin, 07 Février 2016

Greate value for money!!! Position of hotel is perfect, right on the main walking street. Staff is friendly and polite. Room was clean and comfortable. Only issue with this hotel is - NO PARKING. Breakfast could be better. If you need decent hotel with excellent location - right choice !

"Value for money"
Panagiotis K, 04 Février 2016

The stuff and the manager were very helpful, especially the afternoon shift in front desk was very kind and her english perfect. The bed was amazing although the rooms would be great if they were bigger.

"Great stay in the heart of Sofia"
steffduca, 26 Janvier 2016

Art Plaza Hotel is set in a fantastic location in the city centre (just off Vitosha Blv which is a great shopping and dining area). Staff is very polite, helpful and speak good English. Breakfast is very good with lots of varieties. The room is rather small but cozy and warm. The bed is very comfy. WIFI connection was good too. Interior is nice quite contemporary which i liked.

"Central Location, Good breakfast, TINY ROOMS"
CynthiaDuca, 25 Janvier 2016

We booked superior bedrooms and they are very smallll bedrooms like any other room. The room is very dissapointing, however it is in a very good location and the breakfast is very good. Bar and restaurant only opens in the morning for breakfast hours

"Looks like a 4* Hotel"
Petya B, 20 Janvier 2016

This hotel pleasantly surprised me! It looked like a 4* hotel. Very professional staff and the room was really nice, warm and cozy. Very close to the city centre (5 mins walking distance). We could store our luggage after we checked out, which was really helpful. Thank you for making our stay a pleasant one. Will visit again.

"Excellent!"
Nelly N, 10 Janvier 2016

The hotel has great location in the city centre. Staff is very pleasant and helpful with good English. Breakfast is very good with lots of varieties. The room is cozy and warm. The bed is very good. Internet is good as well. Interior is nice. Nothing to add. I will stay there again !

"Comfortable, friendly service and a great location"
musictagj, 04 Janvier 2016

We stayed for two nights in a suite with our two teenagers over Christmas 2015. Although as other reviewers have said the decor is slightly tired in places, the room was spacious, the free wifi excellent, the double bed and sofa bed both very comfortable and the bathroom clean and stylish with a powerful shower (although you had to be careful to position the shower head to stop water flowing over the edge of the bath onto the floor). Breakfast was the usual hot and cold buffet with nice juices, replenished regularly. We were very impressed with the great level of service both by email beforehand and in person. Our flight arrived early which meant our taxi shuttle was a bit late arriving at the airport to meet us. The girls on reception could not have been more apologetic and helpful, and gave us complimentary mineral waters and a huge bowl of fresh fruit to say sorry. The location is excellent, tucked away in a quiet street just off the main pedestrianised shopping street, Vitosha Blvd. Would happily stay here again.

"The perfect place to stay in Sofia, for everyone"
Federica_PLN, 25 Décembre 2015

I was in Sofia for work during december 2015: I've had to follow the installation of a shop in Vitosha Blv. I've choosen this hotel because it's very very close to the most famous street of Sofia, and the reviews were very good. After staying I've absolutely not changed my idea: all was perfect, from shuttle service to and from the airport, through the clean, quiet, order of rooms, up to the breakfast buffet: varied, rich, suitable for anyone. Personally I ate every morning yogurt, fruit, cereals and coffee, but there were many desserts of all kinds and a selection of savory dishes (vegetables, cheese, cold cuts and so on). The staff is helpful, very polite, friendly and welcoming, so are the drivers of the vehicles carrying clients to and from the airport. Even the last day, ready to depart on the night, I could not have breakfast: at the reception desk I found a pouch with a croissant, an apple and a bottle of water, prepared to not skip breakfast. At the time I left, despite my stay was for work, I was really sad! I hope to return in future to Sofia, and staying in the same hotel! Very very very recommended!

"Friendly staff and great location"
SM3110, 17 Novembre 2015

This hotel is Ideally situated for main pedestrian shopping street. The Staff are very friendly. Breakfast buffet is a bit basic, same every day. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. would definitely recommend staying here.

"Ideal location for a short stay..."
Keith F, 09 Novembre 2015

I stayed the Art Plaza with friends from 6th – 9th Nov 2015. The hotel is ideally located for the city centre with lots of bars/restaurants within a very short walking distance. A Metro station is also just a short walk away. At some point the overall hotel decor would have looked great but now it is somewhat tired and dated and would benefit from updating. My room and bathroom were clean but the carpet could have done with a good scrub. The bedding was nice and fresh, the bed was comfortable and the shower was great. The hotel and room were nicely heated. The breakfasts were a basic continental style with plenty on offer although the bread wasn't very fresh. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us good advice when we had any queries or questions. The free WI-FI was available all over the hotel. The hotel suited our needs considering the duration of our stay and I would certainly stay there again. To sum up I would say that this hotel is ideal for location for short stays but don't expect plush.

"central location"
Meltem Ö, 30 Octobre 2015

The hotel is very close to pedestrian area - Vitosha boulevard. By walking, it only takes to reach there just 3 mins. The hotel room was average. In my opinion, it provides min. needs. The man in the reception was not so kind. Actually he is kinda sulky. He didnt even say goodbye, goodmorning etc. The breakfast was also not so good. When we went to breakfast 9.45 (15mins left), only one croissant was left. At the same time many guests came to breakfast and we couldnt eat a croissant! They should have been renewed it. Ok, at 10 am they can pull over everything but till then they have to provide everything. Therefore, we did not have the same rights with the other guests. Because I only eat croissant at breakfast when I m in abroad. Dont like the hospitality in that hotel. Best western, huh !

"the worst hotel i have ever stayed"
dafni d, 13 Octobre 2015

i have no words for this hotel...the worst service..imagine we made our beds instead of the room service!we booked a room for 4 person and they gave us for two..then they gave us one more room for the other 2 person and we obliged to pay 100 euros extra...in a few words the worst ever...it would be better on a camping!
