"The place to stay for Zion !!"
sumerinsumarent, 25 Mars 2024

Highly recommend! Nick , who checked us in was fantastic. He explains all helpful information about the hotel and the local area. He is also very friendly and available !! The room was well appointed and we would stay here again to visit Zion National Park.

"Decent"
gwviper, 17 Octobre 2023

Nice quirky hotel. Comfy beds. Fridge and microwave in room. Only had a shower. Good restaurant but slow service as so busy. Gift shop on site. No free breakfast. Pool on site. Not a good place if you plan on Zion as long drive to and from. Better to stay in Springdale.

"Huge Room!"
MaureenH_11, 08 Octobre 2023

The stay (one night) was great. Depending on who you are this is or isn't the room for you (#108)! We had requested a walk in shower - it was but not a true roll-in shower - but gorgeous with many shower heads. The room was huge, a suite really - but the walk to the bathroom in the night for my disabled husband was quite long. The wall air conditioner didn't really cool the room because it was facing the wrong way. Staff and/or golfers had filled the parking spaces in front of the room so we had to pack our stuff up a little hill - again difficult for the disabled person. But they were so nice, all is forgiven. Don't miss the restaurant!

"Wonderful little motel"
NOPGO, 04 Octobre 2023

Clean, wonderful room. Warm on cold nights. Staff went above and beyond to take care of us. Very good location for Bryce and Zion National Parks! It's 2 hours ride from North rim of Grand Canyon.

"Great location between Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park"
Carissa B, 29 Juillet 2023

The room was spacious and the shower was amazing! It was not too busy when we were there so it was quiet. The restaurant was delicious. The pool and hot tub area are very nice with many lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas. We did not golf but there is a golf course. If you would like a microwave in your room make sure to request one, not all rooms come with one. The only thing that was different and I would make a change would be that they didn't have staff easily accessible to you all the time. There was not always someone at the front desk. After hours, if you needed something you had to ring a bell or call a cell number to someone who lived 10 minutes away and they could come and help you. He was very kind and willing to do anything for you. We just found that a bit different.

"Great people, food and location"
cindydetamore, 09 Juin 2023

I was searching for a place to stay and had no cell phone. Jesus took the wheel and lead me to a safe haven. This hotel is a wonderful place and has a very helpful employee! I felt like he cared and let me know the owner does as well. If I needed anything I could reach out and be assured of getting assistance even if it was the owner himself. You rarely find an owner who is so involved. I can tell he cares for the property by the details and amenities. I do not golf, but there is a course and a pool. My room opened to a grass courtyard and had a porch to relax. I would definitely stay here again, and bring my family!

"Family vacation at Best Western Thunderbird Motel in Mt. Carmel, Utah."
lyndab813, 29 Mai 2023

This has become the perfect family get away for us. There is an on-site restaurant, golf course, pool and hot tub. It is located right on the east side of Zion's Park. There are many other parks, biking trails, hikes and family oriented activities close by. The management of the motel is very professional and accommodating. We visit this motel several times every summer as an extended family. High recommended!

"Good base for Zion and Bryce Canyon"
974marianw, 04 Mai 2023

We chose this hotel based on it's location as we were visting Zion NP followed by Bryce Canyon. When we arrived at the hotel we weren't expecting much if we're honest as it looked a bit cheap motel like, however we were pleasantly surprised when we got to our room. We had a king room which was in a single storey building separate from the rest of the hotel and our room had a small patio with chairs out the back. We were supposed to have our own parking space but someone else was parked in it for the duration of our stay which meant we had to park elsewhere. There is enough parking available though so it's not really a problem. The room itself was spacious with a big king sized bed, comfy chair and dining table. We had a microwave and coffee machine in the room which was good. There were bathrobes which was a nice touch and the shower room was clean, modern and had a good powerful shower. It was quiet overnight and we didn't hear any noise from the rooms either side of us. There is a diner type restaurant on site (and a petrol station which is handy). We did eat at the diner but didn't enjoy it. There aren't really many other options though in the area.

"nice place to stay"
lmwang99, 09 Avril 2023

The hotel provides an affordable option for travelers who wish to explore the stunning natural beauty of Bryce National Park, Zion National Park, and Page. Its prime location in the heart of these iconic destinations makes it a convenient choice for those looking to immerse themselves in the breathtaking landscapes. One of the standout features of the hotel is the size and cleanliness of the rooms, especially when compared to similar-priced accommodations in the area. Guests can expect spacious and well-maintained rooms that provide a comfortable retreat after a day of outdoor activities. The cleanliness of the rooms adds to the overall satisfaction of the stay, creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment. The affordability of the hotel is also a notable highlight, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers. The reasonable pricing allows guests to allocate their budget towards other aspects of their trip, such as exploring the national parks and experiencing local attractions. The central location of the hotel is another key advantage, providing easy access to Bryce National Park, Zion National Park, and Page. This saves travelers time and effort in commuting, allowing them to maximize their time spent in the breathtaking surroundings of these natural wonders.

"Very nice hotel room, more than pleasantly surprised"
Poofer3369, 26 Mars 2023

Pleasantly surprised at just how nice this hotel was. Our room was spacious, nicely appointed and very clean. The bathroom had a lovely shower. We would definitely stay here again. I would say we were very disappointed in the restaurant as it has a charming history and seemed to be well regarded in the area. The food was mediocre at best and the famous "ho made pies" were so bad we did not finish the dessert we took back to our room.

"Great location close to Zion and Bryce Canyon NPs"
mitchellhester, 28 Novembre 2022

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was very spacious and clean. The bathroom looked as though it had recently been updated. About 25 min to Zion NP and about 1 hr to Bryce Canyon NP. The restaurant was good as well. They mostly had classic American diner food but they also had a vegetarian menu which was unexpected but great for my girlfriend. We would definitely plan to stay here again.

"Great Location"
JKMReece, 18 Novembre 2022

We stayed at the Thunderbird Lodge one night between visiting Bryce and Zion. It was a great location, restaurant on site was decent. We were able to do laundry and the pool was nice. Room was clean and the general store had supplies we needed.

"Mixed bag"
soloFemaleDenver, 01 Novembre 2022

Stayed in single story section. Large room looked very nice, comfortable beds, internet ok, great toiletries, friendly & helpful staff, walk-in shower w/2 shower heads (overhead & handheld), lots of windows, onsite laundry ($1.50 to wash, $1.50 to dry). However, shower has a long slit instead of a typical drain & it drained very slowly, windows don't open, fridge kept hotel-supplied ice solid for 2 days on bottom shelf but didn't keep our cooler's freezer pack frozen on top shelf (had frost on back wall, so assumed it would be coldest area; fridge doesn't really have a freezer area), walls are thin (heard neighbor blowing noise & their water flowing in pipes), being close to a junction led to hearing traffic on Hwy 9 especially as it slowed down and speed up from junction, cold-water setting on clothes washer with a full load cycle was only 27 minutes (my clothes didn't get completely clean; they weren't that dirty to begin with). I was told the hotel was full, but from the number of cars, it seems like they were not actually at capacity. Rather, it seems like they probably don't have staff to clean all the rooms, so only some were rented. Therefore, it was annoying that we had immediate neighbors. It would have been nice if we were spaced out every other room. The hotel was clearly understaffed, which was a common theme throughout the trip around Utah (at hotels and restaurants). During the trip, we visited 3 national parks and other areas, and stayed at 6 different hotels.

"Awesome Gem"
Deb C, 02 Octobre 2022

Room very clean comfortable, Pool/Spa open 24/7 Yeah!!!!! Hotel Restaurant food was very good. Pretty views all around. Very happy we choose this hotel, would come back in the future if we are in the area.

"Most worthy"
rlj2020, 20 Septembre 2022

So, when I booked this place I was clueless as to what to expect. I didnt have much expectation actually. After our day in zion we were hangars. Luckily there is a restaurant here on site. Thunk classic diner with HO-MADE PIES. OF COURSE the meatloaf was the special which I ordered ND husband got the ribs. ✋️ down meatloaf killed it!! Along with mashed and gravy and vege. THE the Ho-made pies. Coconut cream and Thunderberry to go for breakfast. AND..they had scones( which were pretty much bignets Home made as well. Served with honey butter. They were to go as well for coffee in a.m. I thinks it's just so crazy to find such a gem of a place. It has it's history on the menu. Go here if you are in the are. Also the hotel has a lovely 9 hole golf course. Just fabulous. They do have staffing shortages(that's why the to go ) closed for breakfast wed and thurs) The pool and hot tub are nice touch too. Very clean. Totally 5 stars.

"Great location, good value pleasant stay"
Mildred5404, 15 Septembre 2022

The hotel is in the middle of a golf course. Easy check in and out a nice restaurant and gift shop made for a pleasant stay close the the national park entrance. Lots of activities and tours available

"Great Place to Stay on the East Side of Zion NP"
MelissaLasVegas, 13 Septembre 2022

My sister and I stayed here for 1 night over our visit to Zion NP. It is located about 10 miles from the East Entrance to the Park. Both front desk agents were extremely friendly and helpful, unfortunately I didn't get either name. A lady checked us in which was quick and seamless and she changed our room for us as we requested a 2nd floor and we were placed on the 1st floor. Then we decided that we could use a microwave (they are available upon request). Mini fridge is in the room. The gentleman then at the front desk fulfilled our request and brought the microwave immediately to our room. The room seemed to have been recently remodeled which was nice, clean and comfortable. We had a little balcony overlooking the pool area. We did enjoy a dip in the pool and a soak in the jacuzzi. There is a golf course right there, gas station, restaurant on site, Subway across the road, overall not much in the general area but we had everything for a wonderful stay and would stay again if in the area!

"Great place to stay"
t0mmyt0m23, 20 Août 2022

Staff was very nice and helpful, room was super nice and clean very nice bathrooms and a nice area to stay very private gas station out front and a nice restaurant attached to the hotel would definitely stay again

"Nice place to stop for the night"
Nymph74, 19 Août 2022

We stayed the night here before going into Zion National Park. At first we had a bad experience because the air conditioning unit wasn't working in our room, however the front desk staff were able to place us in another room with a functioning A/C and things got a whole lot better. The room was spacious and comfortable. They've obviously done a lot of work renovating the property, and it's coming along very nicely! Would absolutely stay here again.

"More then expected!"
71Whales, 03 Août 2022

Great upgraded motel with nice small 9 hole golf course and quality diner style restaurant on sight- great touches- nice linens, small appliances and friendliness of staff- pool and hot tub too! Quiet side of Zion-

"Best experience"
StephanieTravels27, 23 Juillet 2022

This hotel and restaurant was fantastic. The staff was wonderful, the beds were comfortable, everything was so clean. I had an amazing experience and I can't wait to come back. I will definitely book here again.

"Family vacation at Best Western Thunderbird Motel in Mt. Carmel, Utah."
lyndab813, 06 Juillet 2022

Our family and extended family visits the Thunderbird several times each year. The pool is a relaxing gathering place. The golf course is a major attraction. It is situated right outside Zions, by Coral Pink Sand Dunes, is close to Bryce and so many other of Southern Utah's natural tourist landmarks. The motel is clean, beds are comfortable, staff is friendly. The internet, fridge and microwave are all appreciated. It has it all for families as well as couples. We have held several family reunions there. They are able to provide a quiet, calm environment. It has become a place to rejuvenate for us. We can't wait for our next visit!

"Great place to stay, convenient"
Ballmom5915, 02 Juillet 2022

Great place to stay. Very convenient to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. The golf course was enjoyed on site. The rooms were great. Our air couldn't get cool enough for us but may be cool enough for

"First trip to Thunderbird Lodge"
Huggybear1949, 13 Juin 2022

Wow!!! This lodge was everything we thought a Southwest lodge should be: a bit historic, family run, great location close to National Parks, many activities, and a beautiful 9 hole executive golf course right outside the room! Also, the pool, restaurant, gift shop, gas station are right there! Fandamntastic!!!!!

"Great location!"
Krystle L, 21 Mai 2022

This is a great location if you are looking to explore multiple national parks and have a central location that's not too terribly far of a drive in any direction-clean rooms, comfortable, nice parking, the restaurant was clean and had good food. Would stay here again!

"Great hotel"
GrandTour96055, 12 Mai 2022

This is not your average Best Western hotel. Family owned and operated with pride. Clean, super comfortable, friendly competent staff, home cooking and located just outside Zion National Park. I was told that rooms are not all alike but ours was decorated great. No carpet, all ceramic planked look floors with clean ceramic tiled bath.

"The noise of the car outside"
kazhit, 08 Mai 2022

Except the noise of the car outside, my overall experience was good. The master was exceptional and friendly. The door of the room can be better. The restaurant was closed on Wednesday and Thursday. Gas price is high in Chevron next to the lodge.

"Very Pleasant"
daveclosser, 02 Mai 2022

After driving through the beautiful but busy Zion National park at the end of a long driving day we arrived feeling pretty worn out. We were greeted warmly at check in which was quick and easy. The room was clean, comfortable and inviting, the bed and linens were all nice. Our stay here couldn't have been any better

"Great Visit at the Thunderbird Resort"
Bill V, 11 Avril 2022

Gordan is the best host ever. Gordan took a personal approach to myself an the 4 other couples. He was very helpful as he explained areas to explore in the area. Gordan took the time to explain every thing we needed to about our accommodations. Gordan spends a lot of time working and is very dedicated to the Thunderbird Resort. All in All, it was a fantastic visit.

"Below average but our options were limited"
hubbs76, 05 Avril 2022

We booked two rooms and stayed here between days at Zion and Bryce. The rooms themselves were fine. The beds were horrible. They were old and crowned in the middle. I always felt like I was going to roll off the bed. Our bathrooms both had ants!!!! Breakfast was NOT included and the restaurant was not open the next morning so we had to make do with dry breakfast food from the neighboring gas station. For the price I would have expected a little more.

"A Surprising Gem"
Mandy G, 18 Mars 2022

We picked this hotel/location due to it's location between Zion, Bryce and the Grand Canyon as it was the perfect 'middle' for us. We started our journey at Zion and were planning to visit Bryce and then the Grand Canyon. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous about staying at a truck stop hotel (I watch a lot of horror movies :)). We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel, it was so clean and had a great view. We stayed in 5 different hotels on our trip and my husband and I both agreed that the room at this hotel was the cleanest, had the most comfortable bed, and best shower out of all of them. It was actually really nice to have the gas station and diner right there after a long day of hiking. The food at the diner was great and big portions. I even got a piece of pie and I don't really like pie! Don't be afraid to consider this hotel! We'll be staying here again if we find ourselves in the area again!

"Off road Vacation stay"
352rickm, 16 Mars 2022

Nice Hotel, clean, staff was friendly, 9 hole golf course, great reasturaunt and a gas staition with a mini mart. Located between Zion National park and Kanab. If you plan to off road in this area this is a great place to stay with a pool, gas station and a resturaunt attached. Great views from the rooms.

"Room way better than we expected!"
EcoCyclingfool, 08 Novembre 2021

Excellent value! Our room was fantastic! Very well-appointed especially for the price! Good wifi, very large room, excellent furniture, lights, fixtures, fridge, etc. Included a sliding glass door to a private patio on the golf course. We've stayed in a lot of budget motels, and this room was much nicer than what we had expected, especially for the price we paid.

"A Great Best Western"
Richard K, 07 Novembre 2021

If you are going to Zion and coming from Bryce of the east this is a great place to stay. It is located right on the intersection on the turnoff to go to the park. Going this way you get 22 miles of spectacular scenery as you drive through the East entrance to get to the main gate in Springdale. This is an old style hotel where all rooms are accessible from outside with your car parked in front. The rooms were large, nice and clean. The beds were comfortable. The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful golf course. The hotel stay does not include breakfast, but there is a full scale restaurant as part of the property. We only had one glitch. The room we were given the key to had not been cleaned or services after the last guest and they had to move us to a different room. The restaurant on the property included a nice gift shop and a gas station/mini mart shared the parking lot. The people at the hotel were very friendly and went out of their way to male sure we were happy including giving us quarters for the guest laundry. We would have no problem staying here again.

"Utah National Park stay"
KevinO967, 23 Octobre 2021

Our room was spacious and clean. The decor was very western. We had a quiet two night stay. There are not a lot of dining options in the area. The restaurant had a hour wait at 8:00 PM on a Saturday and there were not any carryout options. I think they were just under staffed like a lot of restaurants in the COVID pandemic. The hotel was close to Zion and a little over an hour to Bryce Canyon, so it was convenient to us. Great place to stay other than the food option.

"Quiet and Close to Zion"
laurabV4262VE, 10 Octobre 2021

We selected this hotel due to its proximity to Zion after spending time in Bryce Canyon. Our room was large, clean, had updated lodge-theme decor and a large updated bathroom. The room had a beautiful view of an adjacent golf course and red cliffs. The restaurant on-site had delicious food and excellent service. The hotel was sort of isolated from other tourist attractions in Zion, as most of the hotels are on the west side of Zion in Sprindale.

"Wonderful place to stay!"
Caya0420, 02 Octobre 2021

We love the Thunderbird. We are always treated like royalty. The food in the restaurant is great and all hotel services are great! We love the friendly staff! The location of the hotel is central to Zions and Kanab. The attached golf course is a bonus!

"okay location, clean with terrible service"
Dolores G, 19 Septembre 2021

Restaurant attached closed 2 of my 4 days there. Nearest place is 20 miles one way other than Subway and taco trucks. Large room very clean, well decorated with outside patio overlooking the golf course. Small refrigerator but no microwave. NO BREAKFAST OPTIONS except for restaurant - which is expensive and closed 2 days a week. Other than Subway and taco trucks you need to travel 20 mikes each way to nearest town over mountainous road. Staff is unsupportive and needs training in customer service. Very disappointed.

"Great stay"
NorthStar598719, 19 Septembre 2021

Nice facility and restaurant. Great home cooked food. Comfortable beds and quiet. Food at restaurant very good. Missed on line that there was no free breakfast. If you stay to go to Zion no shuttle to park. Drive is beautiful into and out of park. If want to park free need to get there very early like 0630 in morning otherwise park in Springdale and walk or shuttle into Zion. Very busy and do many people. We went only one day as too many people. Moved on to Capital reef a day early and hotel mgnt accommodated us getting out of the second night reservation. So grateful. Quiet comfortable hotel to stay at.

"Family vacation at Best Western Thunderbird Motel in Mt. Carmel, Utah."
lyndab813, 10 Septembre 2021

Location was incredible. Close to Zions, Bryce, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Kanab. Check it out on google. The management is friendly and professional. There is an onsite swimming pool and golf course. Our extended family vacations there together every summer and individual families stay many times during every summer. It's become our southern Utah "home away from home."

"Great stop between parks"
stacye797, 06 Septembre 2021

My husband and I stayed here for one night as we left Bryce Canyon and were headed to Zion the following day. It was a great hotel. The rooms have western themed furniture, the bathroom was updated and the room itself was very clean. We got in pretty late, and I naively thought there would be somewhere to get some food…even at a gas station. Unfortunately, I was wrong, so keep that in mind if you have the same idea. Everything in the area was closed by the time we got there at about 8:00. They didn't have any stocked vending machines, either. However, when I went and inquired at the front desk, the lady there (I believe her name was Amanda, she has colorful hair) offered me her own bag of chips. I was so thankful because I was pretty hungry after hiking around and we were running low on our road trip snacks. So, thank you, Amanda for your generosity!!! Definitely an asset to the hotel and guests!! I would absolutely recommend staying here! Oh, and the attached restaurant offered a good selection for breakfast with great service, highly recommend, as well.

"Zion Family vacay"
Jennyq2315, 31 Août 2021

Hotel was clean but the air conditioner did need some updating. Took a bit to kick on and keep temperature. The restraunt was great! Nice folks and nice selection. Not to mention great pie! Best pie I have had! Tried the strawberry rhubarb mmmmmmm!

"Hit the National Parks from here"
arnulfoviramontes, 24 Août 2021

If you want a central point to see National Parks this is the perfect place. @2hrs from Grand Canyon North Rim, 1 hr from Bryce and less than 30 minutes to Zion Notional Parks. Rooms are extra nice VERY CLEAN. Very Friendly staff. Thunderbird Restuarant has delicious everything.

"Decent Stay"
tjchildress, 29 Juillet 2021

Let me be clear. This is about the only hotel w/in a 25 mile radius. It's a very small town but w/ a bit of history. I would certainly recommend it for a 1 night stay. The rooms were clean w/ very little wear and tear. Bathroom was recently updated. Beds and sheets were clean and comfortable. My only complaint is the wall AC unit wasn't the correct size for the room. With a 95 to 100 degree day it only ever managed to get down to about 76, and that was in the morning which is the coolest part of the day. Being from the south we're used to warm weather but it would have been nice to sleep in better comfort.

"Better than expected!"
Joan B, 24 Juillet 2021

Way better than I expected! Family business after 70 years! Just outside the east entrance of Zion National Park. Large rooms - big enough for all four of us and our huge luggage) with cathedral ceilings, rustic furniture (we are outside a National Park, right? ) ohr room was a walkout on a courtyard with pool, perfect for after a hot day of hiking. New bathroom, super stylish. Also granite countertops, and a personal room Kuerig. Plus, more TV channels than any sane person needs! (In the hundreds!) And it's on a golf course! The hotel's lobby is attached to a gift shop with real local art and jewelry, plus chachkis. Plus, a great restaurant with local talent and home made pies. What a gem!

"Wonderful"
Dave A, 23 Juillet 2021

Our stay was wonderful. The room was spacious, clean, with a patio to enjoy the weather. Staff was helpful, friendly. I highly recommend this hotel that was between Zion Nat'l Park & Bryce Canyon Nat'l Park.

"Spring Trip to Zion & Bryce Canyon"
Y8480GUmichaelm, 22 Juillet 2021

My family and I stayed during Easter weekend. The location is ideal for those that want to see both Zion and Bryce Canyon NPs. The price was reasonable, especially compared to rates in Springdale. The motel itself was overall clean and checking in was a breeze. If you are checking in late, I would call ahead as I don't believe they staff the front desk overnight. When we arrived, the women at the front desk said she was waiting on us and another group to arrive before she left. That was around 8pm. The staff was very pleasant every time I interacted with them. During the week everything closed at 8pm, just FYI. There is a restaurant and gift shop attached to the motel, a gas station next to motel, and a Dollar General down the road. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would gladly stay here again.

"A really great hotel"
D-Leader, 17 Juillet 2021

We were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival. The motel looks cool, but the rooms were really great! The Western decor fits perfectly, they are spacious and clean and easily accessible. The wifi was good and the shower was delightful. The pool was very nice, with a great view of the Mesa. The hot tub was wonderful. The property also includes a golf course which seems very nice. Finally, the location is perfect for visiting Zion or Bryce Canyon National Parks, and only 100 miles from the Grand Canyon. I would definitely recommend it!

"Not worth for the price"
mep00, 05 Juillet 2021

The couches were dirty, could see visible white spots all over the cushion. Fan in the bathroom was too noisy and the temperature of the shower was fluctuating. These are simple fixes that they don't care about, it seems. Overall the quality of the room was not acceptable for the price I paid.

"They need to figure out how to hire people for the restaurant"
karenC4123IV, 02 Juillet 2021

This would have been a perfect stay - great rooms, comfortable bed, Amanda at the front desk was WONDERFUL! However, the restaurant was closed due to staffing issues. Our only choices was a food truck 5 miles away, or the next town over - 17 miles away. Very disappointing. Why can't you get people to work there? Work policies? Pay? Bad management? I hope you can figure it out, this is a great place to stay if there's a place to eat.

"Great hospitality"
rosalies105, 27 Juin 2021

We came to the hotel as strangers, and left as friends. What more can I say? Gordon and Wyatt went the extra mile, offering suggestions and helpful information. The room was clean and in good working order. We will definitely be returning!

"Excellent"
jsome72, 27 Juin 2021

If I were asked to say one word about my stay it would simply be “excellent”. We had been through quite a long day upon arrival which included being rear-ended in a minor car accident on our way there so all I hoped was for the room to be nice when we walked in…it exceeded expectations in every way. Beautiful decor, huge towels, perfectly clean, everything was just so good! We used the laundry room which was also clean and in good working order. Had a balcony overlooking the golf course which was a nice feature. The restaurant was often quite busy but was fairly efficient the only time we ate there. The hotel was a perfect gateway to Zion, Bryce and the Grand Canyon. We could not have happier with our stay!

"Exceeded expectations!"
Luanne S, 17 Juin 2021

This is a great hotel in a fun location. We did a driving tour of Zion and ended here. The people are friendly and the hotel is updated. The attached restaurant is homey and friendly. The linens are luxurious. The towels are huge, and plentiful. It is right on a golf course, and is really a very pleasant experience.

"Excellent!"
dagerner, 14 Juin 2021

Had problems with our motorcycle right outside their door. Hotel staff accommodated us with a quick room reservation and the ability to leave our bike secured by the front door. Our stay was lovely. Room spacious, clean and homey. Pool and spa was relaxing. Staff helpful and very friendly! Food in the restaurant was very good.

"In a word, disappointing"
K9187LLjonh, 13 Juin 2021

Cannot say what percentage of this was pandemic related, just telling it like it was. The good. After a two day road trip we were greeted at the front desk, unloaded our luggage, then looking forward to a nice sit-down dinner as we made our way to the restaurant. We were welcomed by a very pleasant hostess after which we spent some coin in the gift shop while waiting to be seated. So to summarize the good points, the location was great, the room was modern - spacious with vaulted ceiling, and clean. The adjoining gas station was handy. The bad. The room. No microwave. Unfortunately the small A/C unit was overmatched, noisy, and just couldn't keep up as our room remained lukewarm from 4PM until midnight. We complained to the front desk who replied that maintenance would check it out the next day, but nothing changed. Fortunately the third night was overcast and the unit was able to keep up. Housekeeping lacked as well with no coffee replacement on the second day, and no clean towels until our third night. We've experience better from Best Western. The restaurant. The food was horrible, along with an irritating waiter. In all of our three separate introductory dinner dishes the veggies were pre-cooked, re-warmed, tasteless pieces of mush. The ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes and gravy presented well but were far south of any dehydrated affairs we have ever tasted; grainy, pasty, cold, and tasteless. All our meat dishes; roast beef, tough chicken fried steak, and fried chicken shared the same characteristics; warm on the outside, cold on the inside. Obviously everything had been stacked on a plate then microwaved together, and not long enough. Bleah! The waiter began hitting on us for dessert well before the half way point of our meal, and after the second time was politely told he was still way too early. For the next three days we totally avoided what could and should have been a regular meal stop between Zion and Bryce Parks.

"Great place at junction"
Karibu7, 12 Juin 2021

We had a great stay here. The rooms are big and clean. The ones we had came with balconies or a small sitting area outside that overlook the golf course. The location is good for visits and Bryce. The staff is very helpful and responsive. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub!

"Location says it all. Grounds are nice, too. Otherwise, sub par.See INroom Grilled Chesse Recipe"
nyob, 23 Mai 2021

Overpriced. Was once a fine piece of architecture: Not all walls at 90degreees, nice little patio, nice size room. But if I say they still have incandescence light bulbs, dont expect to find a microwave in the room. Nice fridge but no freezer part. No one at front desk until 3pm DST. That's 4pm Sun Time. But for novelty dont miss the full size Ironing Board and Iron vertically on the wall right in front of toilet for added convenience. For any of us who do not remember why irons are in hotel rooms: wrap cheese in bread place in aluminum foil and Iron both sides: Mid-night grilled cheese!!!

"Convenient and comfortable!"
Annitajj, 14 Avril 2021

This hotel was great for visiting the surrounding parks. We stayed here 4 nights and apart from the airconditioner/heater being noisy it was an awesome room. The beds were super comfortable, water pressure in the walkin shower great and the room was large. Perfect for a long stay. Will definitely stay again!

"One of our favorite places to stay!"
Kristen B, 23 Mars 2021

Everyone at the Thunderbird Lodge is so friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean and well maintained. The location is perfect, not far from the entrance to Zions, golf, ATV trails, hikes, caves, sand dunes and more. There is so much to do. I love coming back to the Thunderbird after a long day of adventure to soak in the outdoor hot tub. The management and staff really make this place extra special. Gordon and his team do a great job making you feel right at home! We stay here a couple of times each year and we have a great experience every time.

"Nice place"
Travelingnicki, 21 Mars 2021

Nice, clean, comfortable rooms. Good location to visit ZNP & Bryce Canyon NP. No continental breakfast provided. Limited check in hours. Nice and helpful staff. Wish the hot tub was hot and ready to use, it would have been nice to use after day of hiking. Loved the gifts shops, convenient stores within walking distance.

"Awesome Atmosphere and People"
TJ P, 14 Mars 2021

The people and atmosphere were awesome!!! The room was great, had a pine log rustic decor, nice outdoor sitting area facing the pool. The restaurant also had a rustic decor, fun and interesting. We love the backstory about how the hotel and restaurant were founded and the “Ho-Made Pies”. The only downside was that the food was average and a bit overpriced. We would stay there again.

"Rooms with Lodge feel, clean GREAT restaurant and service!!"
965deborahv, 02 Mars 2021

Spotless room, beds on the hard end but comfy enough to sleep and better for my back! Service was friendly and great. The restaurant has a wide variety and everything our group of four tried on two different nights was amazing! We're not breakfast eaters or we would have eaten there for that too! Great location to Wave, Horse Shoe Bend, other hikes on the loop, Zion and Red Canyon, Bryce Canyon! LIVED IT! 10'a all round!!

"Great staff and convenient"
857carlop, 01 Mars 2021

Gordon is a great host! He is knowledgeable about the area and very acomodating. The hotel is super close to Zion and Coral Sand park as well. The breakfast is good and the staff are very friendly, I would highly recommend.

"Completely Exceeded Our Expectations."
GetAroundGlobal, 28 Décembre 2020

We booked this stay last minute during a long driving trip that we were on. Once we arrived, we noticed that the property was well kept, had a nice gift shop and a fine restaurant on site. Our rooms were rustic but spotless and the bathroom was brand new. They situated us right on the golf course which was awesome. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone in this area. Absolutely loved it.

"Wow! What a great surprise"
Kristina V, 20 Décembre 2020

We decided to stay an extra day in Zion and needed a place to stay. The BW was so much better than I expected. The rooms were updated, clean and comfortable. Totally exceeded our expectations. The In house Restaurant was really good too

"Exceeds expectations!"
yatri_lover, 20 Octobre 2020

We stayed here with friends while visiting Zion and Bryce National parks. The hotel is ideally situated between both parks. The rooms are spacious. All rooms and facilities were very clean. Gordon at Front desk provided great service throughout our stay. He fulfilled all our requests with a smile and went above and beyond. All the staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Highly recommend this place and we will definitely return!

"Great service at a great place"
sd1616, 20 Octobre 2020

We stayed here 3 nights as we visited zion and Bryce national parks. The service we got from Gordon at front desk was excellent! All staff went out of their way to make our stay really comfortable. Spacious rooms. Rooms and facilities are very clean. We had mutiple requests at various times and always got prompt service. Location of the hotel is ideal for visiting Zion and Bryce. Highly recommended!

"Way more than I expected"
donaldl909, 14 Octobre 2020

I'm used to being disappointed and overcharged when booking rooms close to national parks, However I was very impressed with the rooms at Best Western East Zion Thunderbird Lodge. My very large room (rm 209) had a king size bed, Small kitchenette with table, two relaxing chairs and a balcony. The bathroom has a separate waterfall shower and a beautiful tub. The room was very well-maintained and looked like it was recently updated. I can't say enough of how beautiful and spacious it was. I consider the room to be a little pricey ($179 with taxes) but was well worth the money. Oh by the way it's only 12 miles from Zion national Park.

"Great place"
Kaye S, 25 Septembre 2020

We were very happy with our stay here. The motel was well maintained, the staff was friendly, our room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the location was perfect. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

"Really enjoyed our 6 night stay"
shergar2, 24 Septembre 2020

This was our final stop in a 2 week visit to Utah. We wanted a stop close to Zion and Bryce. This fit the bill. It's a Best Western at a Junction and not a town so not a whole lot of services nearby. Yet there's a gas station, a restaurant with fabulous food, a pool, a golf course, gift shop, and super friendly staff. There's a general store which we visited several times across the street and a Subway that we didn't. Another restaurant across the street too but food so good at Thunderbird we never made it there. Our room was comfy with all the comforts of home. We were in one of the one story units so our car was just outside our room for easy packing and unpacking. We had a refrigerator and requested a microwave for our longer stay. Bathroom even had a heater for chilly mornings. Highly recommend.

"Nice place!"
drwatson32, 07 Août 2020

I chose this place for the excellent reviews and reasonable price. The place looks like an older motel when you first arrive. The rooms have been updated and are very nice! We ate at the onsite restaurant, as well. The only issue we had was the shower that would not drain. We were offered another room, but the only ones available were on the second floor and I didn't see an elevator for all our luggage. So, we took turns going to another building to use the showers in another room. This room was nicely decorated, as well. I liked the single level rooms in a building near the back. A Keurig is available in the room.

"Great family motel"
lcromeo1, 03 Août 2020

Very nice rooms and great shower! Friendly and hospitable staff. Nice pool and hot tub. Has a 9 hole golf course on property and in a beautiful location just outside Zion National Park and close to many State/National parks. Also has a good restaurant and really nice gift shop attached. Had a problem with the AC not cooling the morning we were checking out but may have just been frozen up. Didn't report since we weren't staying longer.

"Great choice between Zion and Bryce"
JLTravels, 09 Juillet 2020

We chose this location because we didn't want to change hotels during a pandemic and we wanted to visit both Zion and Bryce canyons. It was a great choice for our family. Even though services were reduced, the owner went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant was good and the Chevron had groceries and reasonable gas prices for the area. The kids enjoyed the pool. Wish we had time to try the golf course!!!

"Roomy and pleasant room"
Flannery F, 02 Juillet 2020

We really enjoyed our stay. Right on the golf course and although we do not golf, it made for a pleasant “green” experience. Room was roomy and sunny, with a little patio on the back. Nice dining table and area. Decor was rustic and warm. We asked for Wheelchair accessible room It wasn't specifically wheelchair accessible but they made every effort to accommodate, adding bars and shower stool, and it worked for us. It only had a walk in shower, and If you need to roll into shower this would not work. Handy restaurant on the property. Everything very clean, so important these days.

"Road Trip"
Stephen Q, 20 Juin 2020

We enjoyed our stay at the Thunderbird Lodge. It was quiet and peaceful, plus the room was great. The location is perfect for visits to the National Parks in the area. We ate dinner and breakfast at the diner and it was delicious.

"Great staff!"
hartfamily2020, 29 Mai 2020

The staff was really amazing, especially with the current pandemic. The coffee pot didn't work, but they have a restaurant to offset this. It is right on a golf course if that is your thing and have a Chevron to fill up on your way out. The restaurant food menu is diverse and hearty and the pies are AMAZING!!

"Zion vacation"
dezilualba1, 27 Mars 2020

Excellent customer service, great location to Zion National Park, best value, beautiful and peaceful, you won't regret it! And how can I forget Thunderbird restaurant, great food and fantastic service, thank you Carmen! Plus the gift shop, awesome service!

"I will stay again and again "
CO_sugarbear, 22 Mars 2020

This is my third stay at the BW Thunderbird Lodge and I'm sure it won't be my last. I recommend it to all my friends. The hotel is at the perfect location outside of Zion. The outdoor hot tub is just perfect after a long day of hiking. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is amazing friendly. Do not miss having a piece of pie at the restaurant. See you next year!

"Great location and good place to stay"
mikeofduluth, 28 Janvier 2020

We were making day trips to both Zion and Bryce National Parks, so this hotel's midway location was perfect. The outside of the hotel seemed a little outdated, the but the rooms were very modern, spacious (including the bathroom, with a roomy shower stall) and comfortable. Wi-Fi, TV and heat all worked well. And the restaurant, where we ate two breakfasts and two dinners (separate review), was also rather good. A great alternative to Springdale or Bryce if you are visiting either or both parks.

"Classic Retro Motel but brrrr"
Petertourist90, 06 Janvier 2020

Great location for a peaceful night compared to the congestion of Springdale and Zion Park tourist stops. Nice staff, beautiful, great restaurant, classy ambiance for a tourist family. But the room was not fully winterized for some reason; wall heater generated tepid warmth all night and the hot water was also no better than warm.

"Great location"
ling4dj, 03 Janvier 2020

The hotel is located at the east entrance to Zion, so it was easy to get to and the park is easily accessible. There a restaurant on site, a gas station right next to it, which made the stay very easy. Hotel room was clean, staff was pleasant and very helpful to answer my questions about the park and trails.

"Awesome spot"
870nickym, 20 Décembre 2019

All the staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was lovely and the ho-made pie was delicious! I would definitely recommend staying here if your visiting Zion National Park or Bryce Canyon.

"Nice Place, Good People"
mkscw, 09 Décembre 2019

Graet family place to stay. Nice rooms, great food in the Restaurant. Staff really seams to care. Rooms were magnificent. This is a great place to stay near the National Parks. I will stay there again if I can.

"Terrific location"
AnnandRoy, 06 Décembre 2019

The hotel was in a perfect location to access Bryce Canyon and Zion national parks. The staff in the hotel and restaurant we're terrific too. The Thunderbird restaurant is great with a car theme and 50s music.

"One night stay in November "
chelslynne, 23 Novembre 2019

I felt safe here as a solo female traveler. The toiletries are in the shower in a dispenser which worked well for me because I have a lot of hair and need more than the small bottles provide. There isn't a free breakfast which makes this hotel less of a bargain. I was able to get a good rate booking the night before on the best western website. Rooms are clean and spacious but laid out like a motel instead of a hotel.

"Great location to several area points of interest"
wanderingtraveler707, 21 Novembre 2019

This is a great location for Zion National Park, Kanab, The Wave, Peek-A-Boo-Trail, and many others. We enjoyed the convenience to all the places we planned on visiting. The Restaurant is close by and great food. Rooms clean and comfortable. Golf Course is right there too.

"A Gem of a Hotel right Outside Zion National Park"
Ramon T, 15 Novembre 2019

I was taking my folks to see North Rim Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion when we ran out of daylight. We were so lucky to get a room at this Best Western right outside the Park. The concierge and staff checked us in no problem within minutes. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. I have to admit, I haven't been staying in Best Western Hotels in a while, but I was impressed. Very nice bathrooms and everything perfect. The next day, we had breakfast at their nicely decorated restaurant and breakfast was excellent as well. Too bad we only stayed one night. If we had had more time, it would have served as an excellent base to visit all the parks in Southern Utah. Thanks, Best Western. I think I will be seeing you guys more often.

"Great stop between Zion and Page"
Tiyash_Basu, 11 Novembre 2019

After having spent our day in Zion National Park, we stopped at this location in Mt. Carmel Junction before moving on to Page and Antelope Canyon. This spot was ideal as it was not too far from Zion after a long day of driving and hiking and it was inexpensive compared to the lodging around Zion. Moreover as we were moving onto Page, it was on the road, and no detours were needed. Apart from the perfect location for our needs, the lodging was great and so was the restaurant. The portion sizes were huge, the food was delicious and it was good value for money.

"Wonderful service at the front desk"
NAU1982, 20 Octobre 2019

This is an ideal hotel for visitors going to Zion or Bryce. The hotel is located only 13 miles from the east entrance into Zion. Very clean, 9-hole golf course next door and a nice restaurant and great ho-made pie! We arrived early and asked to check in 3 hours early. The front desk was very helpful in getting us into our room so my 86 year old mom could rest. The handicapped room design is great and very comfortable. Trey, the GM is so service oriented and helpful. We will return anytime we visit southern Utah!

"Good place to kick off a trip to Zion or Bryce"
Robert G, 17 Octobre 2019

The BW Thunderbird Lodge is located at the intersection of Route 89 where you enter Zion National Park. The accommodations were comfortable and a good value for the location. The staff were courteous.

"Mt. Carmel location"
Debeauchamp1949, 30 Septembre 2019

This hotel is excellent location for those wishing to go to Bryce, Zion and Grand Canyon... it lies midpoint between all three national parks. As we did want to travel to all three on this trip, it was in great location.

"Great Stay"
Dream178506, 21 Septembre 2019

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was roomy and comfortable, the front desk staff was helpful, the laundry was convenient and reasonably priced, and the outdoor space overlooking the golf course was pleasant. We didn't make use of the pool or restaurant, so we can't comment there. Make sure you get up extra early to get to the Zion parking lot before it fills up. Our 9:00 arrival on Saturday morning was too late, so we missed out on the shuttle. We took lots of pictures along Hwy 9 then spent a wonderful afternoon at Bryce Canyon.

"Nice Hotel but failed to tell us that the spa was under construction"
A1483UQmikeh, 20 Septembre 2019

Should have notified us that the spa was under construction. They had our email and telephone number and never notified us. Very pricey for non working major amenities. Nice hotel and average rooms. Not worth $170 per night.

"Abysmal front desk"
sethh675, 18 Septembre 2019

What a debacle. Not only did they infer that by booking through a third party, I was a lesser guest, they gave my room to an earlier guest who had the same surname as me, tried to charge me for a room that I had a prepaid voucher for (which they were physically holding at time of check-in), then gave me a room that already had an occupant, and then “upgraded“ me to a cheaper room. I tend to not mind inept staff as I see that a lot on my travels, but this really took the prize.

"Golf and R&R"
E4549VGkimh, 09 Septembre 2019

Beautiful scenery all around. Fun but challenging golf course, real good food, great room, fun and congenial staff ! We go to the Thunderbird twice a year and will continue to do so! So many things to see and do very close to the hotel !

"Average Best Western"
DickandRobin, 31 Août 2019

At this rate, should include breakfast! Comfy room with averages amenities. Good location but so many opportunities to make stay pleasantly memorable. Would help to make ADA compliant too—two steps from parking lot easy tripping.

"Very pleasant stay!"
Melanie C, 30 Août 2019

We stayed 3 nights here while we traveled back and forth to Zion Nat'l Park. It was just close enough to come/go each day to the park (30 min max). I loved staying here because we had the opportunity to travel the scenic East Rim drive through Zion and the tunnel in addition to the bison we saw roaming in the countryside once outside the park. The motel room was much larger than expected which was relaxing with our family of 4 returning from exhausting hikes in the park! Our room (with balcony, but not all have a balcony) overlooked the hot tub and pool deck which was a must at the end of our day. The staff was extremely courteous and appeared to enjoy chatting with guests. We only had a few requests which were always met promptly. They have a nice gift shop and restaurant adjacent to the motel as well as a gas station that made it easy to purchase snacks for hiking each day. We would definitely return to this lovely, quiet area.

"Great motel layout, restaurant and pool"
stoneshapes1, 24 Août 2019

Rooms are very spacious, very stylish, beds were verrry comforrtable, AC was a little loud but worked well. Pool was great. Restaurant was also great. We really liked staying here. review must be 200 characters minimum - got it.

"Comfortable room but subpar service"
dixiedorena, 23 Août 2019

Best Western East Zion Thunderbird was in a perfect location for us, lying right outside the east entrance to Zion National Park and an hour away from Bryce Canyon. Our room was large and comfortable with two queen beds; it had rustic charm and was quiet in spite of nearby highways. The room was in a separate building from the main office and it was a disgusting walk across a back parking lot to get to the reception desk and/or restaurant; a walkway with planters would make guests in those back buildings feel more welcome. Likewise, it was a long walk to the one ice machine that served our building. Perhaps they were understaffed but we had to wait at the reception desk several minutes before someone appeared to check us in, and we had a similar wait when we went to the restaurant for dinner. Service seemed subpar compared to the quality of the rooms.

"Would recommend"
GMRJCD, 18 Août 2019

We were on our way to Bryce and made a stop in Mt Carmel because our hotel in Bryce for the following two nights was booked. We arrived early and our room was not ready so the very pleasant woman at the desk loaned us a book about the area and we went and did our laundry in the laundry room there. Our room was very nice and quiet even with a band playing in the evening (we could not hear it). We ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and both meals were very good. But the best think about this hotel were the people who work there from the front desk, the restaurant, to the gift shop. Oh, and don't shop at the store across the street. Their prices are almost double what the prices in the hotel gift shop are!

"Centrally located, best in the area."
Douglas M, 30 Juillet 2019

Very good motel, and a good location from which to see all the local attractions and take multiple day-trips from. Small 9-hole golf course, pool and restaurant, on location. Rooms were clean and the bed was comfy.

"Great place"
jerryh331, 27 Juillet 2019

Loved this place. I had a two queen room. The bathroom was awesome, the room was beyond clean. They have smoking areas on the little private patio area. You are just a few minutes from Zion and an hour from Bryce Canyon. The staff are great from the front desk to the cleaning people.

"Carried away"
ryanmichael2019, 16 Juillet 2019

Too many flies in the room. My son and I killed flies for approximately an hour and a half before we could actually think about relaxing. There was also a quarter in gap in the entry door between the room and outside. Wasn't the best time I've experienced at a motel.

"Great location! Great hotel to play golf in the morning, than hike in Zion or Bryce Canyon."
Bicep88, 08 Juillet 2019

The hotel is conveniently placed in between Zion national park and Bryce Canyon national park. Having par 9 golf course added to the fan. Hotel is clean, staff very friendly and the restaurant in location is excellent (restaurant is open until 11:00pm, about 2 times we stayed until 11"30pm). Is our second stay at this hotel and most likelly we'll stay in the future.

"Missing a lot for the price"
Compass49625631917, 07 Juillet 2019

NO Breakfast included.staff was friendly but incompetent, pool towels were unavailable. Ice machines were empty. Called the front desk several times because kids were running across the floor above us for an hour, no answer after several calls. When I asked where they were when I checked out, the front desk lady said she had to clean a bathroom, but I saw her and another hotel employee outside just talking with a guest. This hotel was twice the price of Kanab BW, go there instead, they are awesome!

"Quaint and clean "
Jet765064, 26 Juin 2019

While this is an older roadside hotel, it's very well maintained and refurbished. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. They have nice down covers, plentiful pillows, fridge and coffee maker. We were on the lower level with a small patio on the grassy area. There is a golf course, family restaurant and off road vehicles for rent on the property. It's approximately 30 minutes from Zion. The pool was well managed, lots of towels and the hot tub was actually hot. The hotel was built in 1966 and operated by the original descendants. The restaurant service was a little slow and food wasn't 5 star but plentiful and adequate. Overall, very glad we gave it a try.

"Not Up to Best Western Standards"
Helen P, 24 Juin 2019

We have stayed at BW motels before and have been happily satisfied. This place was an odd exception; the locale was great and I'm guessing that we had the best room in the motel.....................Nice view, chairs on a mini patio (no mini table though); V. comfortable bed and lots of room in the accommodation; iPhone charge points, fridge and microwave(although very small). BUT, Two points earn it a poor value for $$$. First was the water pressure --- there was NONE at times, when you wanted to shower you got a dribble but outside there was plenty of water being spread over the golf course to the point of flooding the greens!!!!! I mean Large "Large" puddles. I complained to the the front desk, and in so many words, they said, that's the way it is.... take it or leave it.................. no offer to solve the problem or partial refund etc. Second, was the total lack of any breakfast. At this price most motels (Best Westerns included) serve a hot breakfast. This place offered a high priced restaurant with no discount or free meal again not up to BW standards. Would I return to this place probably not, unless I didn't need a shower or breakfast and just wanted to play golf on puddled greens...............

"Great Location, Fun Place for Family Vacations"
venicebarb, 22 Juin 2019

We loved everything. The location was perfect, for our visits to both Zion and Bryce. We had 2 rooms each with 2 patios. We used the golf course, loved having that option. The family enjoyed the pool every day after our trips to the National Parks. The restaurant food and staff, was delightful, especially our favorite server, Joyce. We were 3 adults and 2 kids, 10 and 14. We enjoyed the pool, the fascinating history of the place, and generally loved the whole 4 day stay.

"It may look "old school", but it is really nice!"
Frank D, 20 Juin 2019

When you are checking into BW Thunderbird and head to your room, you may be wondering what you have gotten yourself into. In the day and age of Holiday Inn Express and other micro-hotels, a motel with room doors opening into the parking lot usually means 1-Star accommodations. Not so with the Thunderbird! The rooms are huge, the beds are very comfortable and everything is clean! The furniture is sort of a wood/log/cabin theme. The bathroom area is very nice, but the set up is on the dated side, even though everything looks new. The AC unit is a bit old school in a window next to our sliding glass door that opened to the pool area. It worked great though. The room was perfect. We did use the pool, which is 8 feet deep. There is a kiddie pool area attached and a sepperate hot tub. There were a lot of people in the pool area. We also checked out the gift shop, which was really big. The restaurant gets its own review. Location was perfect for out late afternoon Zion exit and early morning drive to Bryce Canyon.

"Convenient location"
GaGa_n_KY, 20 Juin 2019

Convenient place to spend the night between Bryce & Zion if you're traveling via Hwy. 89. Restaurant is over-priced but the delicious pie makes up for the pricing. The hotel outside decor and the room decor are southwestern themed and very appropriate for the area. We had a large ground floor room with a nice view of the golf course and some hills in the near distance, and were able to park right outside the room door. But we did have at least one mouse in the room during the night and found mouse droppings in several places on the floor in the room. A second floor room might prevent this - next time. And the A/C was noisy and not cooling as well as it should - wall unit. Only about 1/2 an hour from Kanab, UT for a nice drive. Room was not cleaned and ready for us until at least 15 minutes past check-in of 4 p.m. But, we would stay there again or maybe go the extra half-hour and stay in Kanab.

"Great option for comfortable accomodations in a attraction-rich area"
BrunoLonx, 27 Mai 2019

This motel has a very clever configuration, each room has to access points, one to the adjacent parking spot, and the other from a patio were you can sit on a chair and glance the 9-hole gold course. This means you can easily get your luggage in and out of your car and you can sit back and relax enjoying dusk or dawn, or the mountain views, or watch if there is anyone playing golf . The check-in process is efficient and hassle-free, and the check-out is even better, you just leave the keys inside the room, close the door and go your won way. The rooms are spatious, clean and with a wild west flavour to it, due to the rustic furnishings. But don't be fooled by its looks, this room has everything you need for a comfortable stay: wide-screen TV, microwave oven, fridge, good Wi-Fi connection, a bed so comfortable that makes you wish to take it home, ironing board, large closet area ,toiletries, excellent shower, bathtub etc. The shower/bathtub area and toilet were separated from the vanity with a door. The vanity was large and spacious, with a coffee maker and two types of coffee. There is no included breakfast, nor free or paid, but there's a nice adjacent restaurant, other one just across the street, and a gas station and a convenience store, where you can get lots of little things to quench your thirst or put and end to your hunger. Definitely recommended, it is a top choice for a base while exploring Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon and other nearby attractions, like Kodachrome Basin State Park.

"Zip to Zion"
MrsLBC, 26 Mai 2019

Great location for visiting Zion National Park! Loved the rustic furnishings and the Keurig coffee maker. Cute golf course adjacent. We didn't eat a meal at the restaurant but it sure seemed busy and advertises “Ho made” pies! LOL. Very pleasant stay.

"Wonderful, clean and beautiful accommodations"
FellowTraveler727239, 07 Mai 2019

Lovely experience- room was very comfortable/ food in restaurant was perfect and serve breakfast lunch and dinner. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Price was reasonable and well worth it . I would definitely stay there again

"On the way to Bryce Canyon"
johndL2235ES, 01 Mai 2019

We stayed the night after visiting Zion National Park. The room had been updated and was very clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful with our questions about the area. We had breakfest the next morning at their restaurant and it was great. We did have a problem with our TV and the Manager adjusted the rate for us.

"Hidden Gem"
womanbehindalens, 16 Avril 2019

There are not a lot of hotels in this area and this is a little hidden gem in a great location. The motel looks a bit dated from the outside but the rooms we had were recently renovated and were actually really great. The pool was great but a bit cold since it had just recently been filled. We had dinner at the restaurant and didn't love the food. The breakfast was much better. The woman who served our dinner was delightful. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you're in the area.

"Good value and location"
lmd1343, 10 Avril 2019

Great motel with exterior doors and adjacent parking. There are single and two story buildings. Location was near several parks for convenience and away from the somewhat crowded and pricey Springdale area. The check-in process took about 15 minutes as the only clerk was booking a needy customer. The first room we were assigned was in the two story building and footsteps from above were loud. The clerk quickly assigned a room in the single story building. The stay went well from that point.

"A lovely hotel to see Zion."
LfDrgFly, 25 Mars 2019

We loved this hotel. We got there late but someone still came to check us in. The staff were all really nice and accomodating. The rooms have been renovated and the beds and pillows are comfortable. Only complaints: the cleaning solution used in the long was off putting to me (my husband was fine with it) and the hot tub smelled like it needed chlorine. It smelled a bit like mildew.

"Spring Baseball Trip"

Great location, restaurant & staff. We stop here often. Love the excellent food, central location & great staff. Rooms clean & comfortable. Planning this as a destination trip for hiking & exploring Zion National Park.

"Great Location"
LenaHollywoodMuse, 09 Janvier 2019

Excellent location between Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park. It's perfectly situated to get on Hwy 9 to drive west to Zion National Park - that route is beyond gorgeous. The room was very clean, they had plenty of electrical outlets, beautiful view out our window, the staff was really nice, the restaurant had good food. We visited in the off-season, in December just before Christmas. I can only imagine during the busy time of the year that it's absolutely packed with happy visitors. They are known for their homemade goods - they make their own "ho-made" bread and "ho-made" pies - delicious!

"Hidden gem "
gunjant2014, 02 Janvier 2019

We booked it very last minute so was skeptical but it was incredible. Rooms are huge and very comfortable. We checked in late so it was hard finding anything open for dinner around. I would definitely come back when in area again.

"Beautiful rooms!"
sjasis, 06 Novembre 2018

We stopped here for one night after exploring Zion National Park, on our way to Bryce Canyon National Park. Great room. Rustic furnishings. The room looked like it had been recently redecorated. The stall shower was amazing, with subway tile, and rain shower shower head. The shower and toilet were separated from the vanity with a door. The vanity was large and spacious, with a Keurig coffee maker and two types of coffee. Large closet area with two luggage racks, very comfy bed, ambient lighting. Nice large-screen TV (important for hubby) and great WiFi (important for me). Mountain views beyond a beautiful golf course. Friendly staff at check-in. Breakfast not included, but there is a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch & dinner. We ate dinner in the restaurant. Good food, salad bar, friendly service, amazing pie! Premises also includes a gift shop, indoor pool and a gas station right next door! A bit more pricey than we usually pay, but very convenient to all we needed. Great for our needs!

"Massive Rooms"
l_dalby, 22 Octobre 2018

Stayed here for one night whilst road tripping through Nevada/Arizona/Utah and was perfectly happy with our stay. The rooms are giant, clean and well presented. It's a motel style with a ground floor and first floor with the doors opening on straight to the parking lot. Breakfast wasn't included, but there is a restaurant attached to the hotel that offers a good variety for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Had no complaints other than there usual noisy air conditioning unit. Would stay again.

"Bucket List Trip"
F6694JSdavids, 21 Octobre 2018

This was the best hotel that we had on our trip. The room was decorated very nice, with neat furniture, a vaulted ceiling, a view of the 9 hole golf course. It was almost like a suite. We loved all the staff at the hotel and restaurant. They made us feel at home. I thought this would be a fun place to stay and it did not disappoint us at all! I would highly recommend the Thunderbird!

"Lovely room, beautiful scenery"
Callas442, 18 Octobre 2018

Our room was quiet and decorated with beautiful, rustic wood furniture. There was a gorgeous Mountain View outside the patio door. The shower was one of the best I've experienced in a motel. Highly recommend this motel.

"Paradise in the desert"
riverdoc2, 17 Octobre 2018

I have stayed at this location before and it was great! Since my last visit, they are upgrading the rooms and it is even better. It feels like a slice of an old western town with all the amenities of a full service hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable and I think all of the rooms have a patio. We will be back.

"Excellent visit"
mainecol, 17 Octobre 2018

it was a Superb view from our room. They have a great free breakfast with lots of choices. We enjoyed the wonderful whirlpool and indoor/ outdoor pool when we weren't out hiking the area. The staff was very friendly.

"Great hotel !"
Liberty278, 16 Octobre 2018

Had a large, modern room with all that one would expect in a hotel...ground floor room meant we could back our car right up to our door to unload...the outdoor spa was sensational...they have a restaurant & gift shop on site...and entering Zion National Park from this direction is just jaw dropping.

"Clean room with good food in their own restaurant."
Mik2010, 15 Octobre 2018

We arrived on 20 Sep. 2018 for a 1-night stay in room 126. The room was nice, clean, and their restaurant food was very good. The restaurant is noted for their Pies. Unfortunately, we didn't have room for a slice of Pie, because we were full. If we go back, we would definetly try a slice of Pie. They looked really GOOD.

"Great Location. Wonderful Rooms. Excellent Resteraunt"
rbordenkecher56, 04 Octobre 2018

This hotel is a historical marker unto itself. It sits outside a National Park in the middle of a cute little town. The restaurant is excellent and the pie is to die for. There is a golf course attached and a wonderful pool. Rooms all have either private patios or balconies.

"Disappointing food, service & ambience"
Peter D, 03 Octobre 2018

My wife and I dropped in for dinner after a day in Bryce Canyon. We were very disappointed. The food lacked imagination, was very plain, and rather tasteless. We chose a 'BBQ chicken special', and the only BBQ aspect was a smothering in BBQ sauce which we would not have chosen. The receptionist was less than welcoming and the service was amateurish, including a server to another table roundly blaming the chef for two mix ups which left a lady with nothing to eat for some time. I know you shouldn't judge a place by its customers but a disproportionate number of fellow diners were overweight and yet choosing huge plates of food; it would be great if only healthy options were served.

"Worth the commute!"
happygoingplaces, 03 Octobre 2018

This Hotel is outside the Zion Park approximately a 30 minute drive. I hadn't understood that when I booked it, but we ended up quite happy. The Zion canyon drive never got old-serene and lovely. The staff couldn't be kinder. We were given an upstairs newly refurbished end unit, it was really nicely done. There is an adequate mini kitchenette, sofa, and nice big bed. The windows don't face the sun, so none of that hot afternoon sun. A very cute gift shop on site, and the restaurant is adequate. We went down the road to a little grocery and made our own in the room.

"New Best Place to Stay"
Bob L, 02 Octobre 2018

Second year in a row we have stayed at a Best Western Hotel and been pleasantly surprised (other was near Reagan Library in California) . . . it is now our chain of choice to look for . . . reasonably priced, rooms very clean, beds very comfortable, hotel staff very pleasant and accommodating.

"Great rooms and great location"
Minbari2014, 18 Septembre 2018

After a long day on vacation walking into a hotel room seems to be either arghhh - arms in a bit, shoulders down and sort of "oh well" - but not here - or walk in and wow, arms out a bit, shoulders up and thinking "this is great". Our second stay here and yes great - large room, comfy chairs and bed plus fridge, microwave and up-to-date shower. And friendly staff and a great restaurant on site - leave room for the dessert pie! Very much recommended all round.

"Excellent Accommodation & Service"
Trevor B, 16 Septembre 2018

We had had a long day on the road and visited Zion National Park, next was Bryce. This location was the perfect stop for us. The room was excellent, we had ground floor that opened out to the pool. The room had great beds and pillows, also a small dining table and dining chairs. The pool was a great facility after the long day, room clean and well appointed. The check in was simple, auto check out early next day was appreciated. The restaurant provided excellent service and good wholesome food. We would go back at the drop of a hat.

"Family stay"
lyndab813, 06 Septembre 2018

The staff is friendly and professional and the service is excellent. We return several times each summer to relax and enjoy the swimming pool and golf. They accommodated us with the rooms we requested. Check in and check out as well as making the reservations was pleasant and hassle free. We highly recommend this motel in every way!

"Humble “Home”"
Misty C, 27 Août 2018

We'd run from Hoover Dam, to Zion Nat'l Park, to a white water excursion just north of Maryvale, UT and then headed to this neat find in a tiny crossroads. The rooms were immaculate, decor very nice, and the pool was literally our our back sliding door. This beautiful location has a golf course right behind it, ATV rentals onsite, and a quaint home town feel restaurant with very friendly staff. We actually stayed here 2 nights as it's less than 10 miles to the turnoff for Coral Sand Dunes Park, an easy drive back down to Zion, and has Kanab 15 miles down the road with some great restaurants & bakeries. We enjoyed Kanab so much we went twice!! Very affordable accommodations! I'd definitely do again. The hot tub watching the sunset was exquisite! The pic I attached was sunrise over the bluff! Beautiful & peaceful!!

"The MOST Helpful Employee"
Kathleen H, 19 Août 2018

We had the best experience with this lodge. A day after we checked out, i realized i had left a blouse and jacket in one of the closets. I called and talked to Cathy (sp?) to see if the cleaning ladies had found them. Unfortunately they had not. Cathy then offered to go back to our room and personally check the closets herself! She found them and arranged to have them shipped back to me. In my book, Cathy went above and way beyond her job description, and I am very grateful to her. What a great experience!

"A drive-up motel design from years gone bye."
Tom U, 15 Août 2018

We booked this hotel based on other reviews because we were visiting Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. If you are visiting Bryce first and driving thru to Zion, stay in Zion/Springdale -- there are better/newer choices there. The hotel was what I remembered as a Best Western - even though they have upgraded the interiors to some degree, the bed was too soft, the A/C units didn't work properly and the exterior design reflects "drive-up" motels from years gone bye. We booked the room for 3 days but our plans changed and we only stayed one night -- after a bit of wrangling, the got the account straightened out and only charged us for the original night stay.

"Nice surprise - great experience"
Joan P, 12 Août 2018

I knew I was going to the middle of nowhere and didn't expect much - but was very surprised! It was nicer than a lot of hotels I've stayed at that had a lot higher rating. My room was a King bed on the South side of the hotel - single level. I parked right in front of the room, which is important to me. The room was very open, lots of space, a sitting area out the back sliding door looking onto the golf course and the shower was my favorite surprise. I was there to go hiking in Zions Park so my days were hot and dirty and the shower was simply wonderful. It was large, had a removable shower head as well as a rain style shower head. It made for a very nice ending to the day. The sink and counter were very spacious with a large mirror. This was one of my favorite rooms I've stayed in. Decor is country with a log bed frame. Very homey and comfortable. The ONLY downside was due to the area, there are a lot of flies. There were about 8 - 10 in the room when I came in. It would have been lovely to have a fly swatter in the room. But I recommend this place.

"Family trip to Bryce and Zion"
savannabrittlebank, 07 Août 2018

The hotel is perfectly placed if you plan to explore Bryce Canyon and Zion. As a family we stayed here and explored both canyons easily. The hotel itself is clean, pleasant and has a wonderful pool. Each room has a great view and a nice balcony. The rooms are comfortable, but the staff at this hotel location made our stay very unpleasant. We have stayed at Best Western before and have never had a bad experience until this one. The receptionist was unhappy to see us and made us feel dismissed and unwelcome at the hotel. We had had a long day of travelling and were eager for a good dinner so we thought to try the restaurant. This was the worst meal that we had during our entire trip in the USA. The food was not fresh and was way overpriced. It was in fact our most expensive meal in the USA as a family of 7. The waiting staff were unfriendly and lazy. Our waitress accused our 11 year old child of lying about her age for the children's menu (12yrs and under). This was very upsetting for her as she is a sensitive child, and immediately made our dinner miserable. The waitress would not even clear our table before we left and was not able to answer our questions about the menu. The hotel was lovely and I would recommend it, but the staff were unpleasant and unhelpful.

"Clean and convenient"
Chelsea F, 06 Août 2018

We stayed here for one night after visiting Zion National Park. It's close to the park and was very convenient. We enjoyed the walk out porch and everything was clean and comfortable. Restaurant on site was great - we ate 2 meals there. Front desk staff was nice. My only complaint is she signed me up for some rewards program without my consent, and now I'm getting email bombed by Best Western.

"Great stay"
JohnnyBGood430, 05 Août 2018

Thunderbird Lodge is far above a regular motel stay. Not only were the rooms clean, accommodating and efficient but had bonus treats as well. The Thunderbird restaurant connected to the hotel office is terrific. They tout their pies as they should. Behind the lodging in a 9 holes golf course with club house. They also rent 4 wheel atv's no use locally. Conveniently next door is a gas station which is also a welcome site when you don't know when you will see one next.

"Our favorite place when we visit Zion National Park"
Linda B, 03 Août 2018

We love the western decor. The restaurant with its "Ho-Made Pies" is in a class by itself. Not only are the pies super, the T-shirts with the logo are keepers which often become gifts for visiting friends from the East coast.

"Best Western Cafe Review"
gcciz, 17 Juillet 2018

This was one of the nicest looking Best Western Hotels I have seen with a cafe and gift shop. Western decorated atmosphere. Hotel rooms were in a separate building behind building containing, gift shop, cafe, front desk and gold shop. Very friend atmosphere throughout. Cafe known for homemade pies of various flavors. We had home made soups and raspberry lemonade for a lunch stop on way to Las Vegas. Waitress was very helpful and friendly in helping us make a selection from the menu.

"About the only option in the area"
KentGlenstedMo, 14 Juillet 2018

Our experience was not that good. We stayed three nights. One night the stool from the room above us leaked into our room, they moved us to another room. Seconded night the shower curtain rod fell on my wife. The facility shows our age, but is maybe the best in the area if you want to stay close to the area natl. parks.

"Very good hotell right outside Zion National Park"
jatofo, 13 Juillet 2018

We wanted to arrive Zion from the east and realy enjoyed our stay with Best Western Thunderbird Lodge. The check in process was a little long, but everything else was very good. Nice suroundings, very nice and spacious rooms, and beautiful scenary around. Will for sure come back.

"Great Hospitality"
wardplace, 09 Juillet 2018

My two grand-daughters and I spent an unplanned night at the Thunderbird Lodge when our Zion Wilderness adventure went awry. The front desk attendant was so kind when we dragged ourselves through the door! Our room by the golf course was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, Dinner at the restaurant was great, and the pie was as good as advertised. The gift shop is unique and filled with art and jewelry made by real artists. My husband and I have stayed here before and it was good then, but somehow this was exceptional.

"Great experience"
Ashutosh M, 09 Juillet 2018

It is a good value for money place and with amazing accommodation facility. Loved the room and surrounding, for sure you will wake up to a perfect good morning with the view of gulf course and mountains surrounding you. The restaurant food is also very nice. And most importantly close to Zion NP and many other attractions.

"nice lodging but managment fell way below expectations"
ErnieMiller2u, 06 Juillet 2018

Room was very nice as well as the pool however there was no breakfast like the web site indicated. On top of that the coffee maker did not work I ask the first day for it to be fixed or replaced it was not ask again Every day I was there and they did nothing to make it better. all they could say was the Restaurant has Coffee and Breakfast you can get it there. I left very sad and will think twice before staying at another best western.

"Great find!!"
melaniepL7519RP, 22 Juin 2018

After being asked to leave at Jacob Lake we headed north toward Bryce Canyon in hopes of finding a room. We were like some of the other travelers didn't see scope of the whole property when we pulled in. CC helped us at the front & was a joy to talk to. Our rooms were fabulous! Ate at the restaurant that night that also had great food & service. The homemade pies to die for!

"A great surprise of an RV park....."
Greg W, 19 Juin 2018

Trip Advisor apparently doesn't know that the Best Western Thunderbird Lodge also has an RV park. Well, it does. We six adults stayed at their "North Lot" in two 40' motor homes with long and wide pull-through slots, while visiting Kanab, UT and Zion NP. Couldn't beat the $25/night rate. The entire north lot (about 20 spots) is on large gravel. The water pressure is great, we had 50 amp service and sewer at each site. There is no wifi either at the campsite or at the hotel......you're kind of off the grid. If they had had wifi it would have been SIX STARS!

"Biggest surprise ever!"
KSGN, 11 Juin 2018

On a regular day, I might drive right by this hotel thinking that I wouldn't ever stay here. What a mistake that would be! Our room was completely new, clean, comfortable. The steam sauna shower and new claw foot bathtub put it over the top. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

"A hidden gem!"
Kathleen598, 18 Mai 2018

I wasn't impressed when I saw the outside, but boy was I mistaken! Check in was fast and efficient. We were given a sheet with information about restaurants, check out, ice and more. The room was huge with a king sized bed that was comfy and the sheets were not threadbare. We had a nice little porch area abutting a grassy lawn and pool. Bathroom was clean and good sized. Showers worked well. Close to Zion so we got in before the crowds. Loved this place!

"Nice and quiet "
George G, 08 Mai 2018

Our friends, my wife and I, spent two nights here. The rooms have been remodeled at some point and are kept clean. The hotel is family operated and the staff are generally cheerful and helpful. One caution; if staying here, bring food. The restaurant is not great and there is little choice in Mount Carmel.

"Pleasantly Surprised"
Kelly K, 05 Mai 2018

We were put off when we first arrived by its lack luster outer appeal and then pleasantly surprised. Check in was super easy and the front desk woman was extremely nice and helpful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and quirky-shaped (we stayed in the one story building). The hot tub was open and it was nice as well. Close to Zion and perfect for what we needed. We would stay here again!

"Best Room I've Ever Stayed In!!!"
jessicavahsholtz, 12 Avril 2018

This room was beautiful and had a deck overlooking the golf course. The room was very very nice and we loved the decor and the spaciousness of the room! Everything was top of the line. There was a nice big screen TV and a large fridge in the room and a nice table and chairs to sit and eat at away from the sleeping quarters. Not a cramped space at all. Very Nice! I would just saw add a microwave to heat up leftovers from the restaurant. Thanks!

"Nice Place for Zion Adventures"
Bethany G, 06 Avril 2018

Friendly check in, and a nice, large room. We especially liked being on the second floor with the vaulted ceiling. We were excited about the on-site restaurant, which actually turned out toe be kind of terrible, but we really liked the hotel room.

"Great place to stay east of Zion"
gastoneubanks, 31 Mars 2018

Friendly clean old-school motel with a terrific restaurant. It has an excellent location for visiting Zion National Park near the east entrance. The beds were very comfortable. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

"This place never fails to impress"
DCockayne, 30 Mars 2018

Maybe it's the location and great proximity to Zions National Park, maybe it's the fact that every balcony basically looks out onto the golf course, or maybe it's the wonderfully cheerful folks that work here, but this is easily one of my favorite places to stay. It's not an overly fancy place, but everything is well maintained and clean. If you're coming to Zions from the North at all, or the Denver direction, you should consider staying here. The east entrance to the park is much less busy than the other end, and while Springdale has more restaurants and amenities than the area surrounding this Hotel, you'll spend more and wait in line longer on that south entrance to Zions.

"Good location for Zion and Bryce"
Carl S, 16 Mars 2018

We stayed two nights for our visits to Zion and Bryce National Parks. The room was fine, and the price reasonable. It's a basic motel-styled layout, with an attached shop and restaurant. Just across the parking lot is a gas station with a mini-mart -- very convenient if you need something for the day's adventures. There aren't many other options if you're planning on staying this side of Zion.

"Good Place to Stay between Zion and Bryce"
Sharzanni, 03 Janvier 2018

If you are traveling between Bryce and Zion National Parks and want to get an early start at Zion (which is highly recommended), this is a great place to stay. The hotel is clean, the beds were comfortable and the service was good. We did not eat at the restaurant since we arrived after it had closed for the evening. Breakfast is not included. There is a golf course, a pool and a hot tub, but we were there in the winter and did not use those facilities.

"Spacious, very clean rooms!"
renej579, 03 Janvier 2018

We loved our stay at this hotel. It was perfect for leaving Bryce Canyon and being ready early the next morning to go to Zion National Park. The room was very big and nice. We loved the shower and soft, large towels. Super clean also! We wished we could stay longer!

"Nice hotel in out of the way place"
Paul H, 03 Janvier 2018

Our room was modern and spacious with a décor fitting the area. The restaurant was pretty good and has excellent pies, so save room for dessert. A good place to stop when traveling between Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. They also have a 9 hole golf course.

"Not the best Best Western"
Mark V, 19 Décembre 2017

Conveniently located between Zion and Bryce. Room was clean but cold upon arrival (December). Excellent WiFi. No free breakfast but adjoining restaurant was good though a little pricey. Room was not serviced one of the days. We had to go out in the cold to the front desk to get new towels, coffee, etc. Woman behind the desk was not very apologetic and seemed to have a bit of an attitude. Minor room issues include a refrigerator that makes random tapping noises throughout the night, shower water valves that turn in the opposite direction to get water flowing, location of the towel rack is such that you can hit your head on it after you reach into the shower to get the water going, and bathroom door was hard to close. On line reservation not working (for months).

"Fun time"
E4549VGkimh, 04 Décembre 2017

Everything was great. Fun little golf course, real good food, friendly staff. Just passing through on our way to Mesquite, Nevada and decided to stay again on our way back home. We will stay here again and again, it's fun!

"Close to Zion and Bryce "
Aleksandr K, 01 Décembre 2017

We stayed for one night after we left Zion NP to make our way to Bryce NP. The hotel was good. Clean room and bed. The restaurant is had good food. We had dinner plus we filled up on gas. Everything was so close we loved it.

"Thanksgiving day on vacation!"
Matthew B, 26 Novembre 2017

Thanksgiving day on vacation, its late and you need a hotel for you and your family. Best Western East Zion Thunderbird Lodge, Mount Carmel, UTAH was calling us. Thanksgiving on the road, we expected no family dinner or turkey! We were wrong! We had an amazing turkey dinner with the owner and his family. Thank you so very much.

"fine for the location"
yyyzzz_utah, 25 Novembre 2017

location is fine, service is ok, room is large, but a bit dated. not the cleanest. no free breakfast. not sure why it is a PLUS. it is certainly not a bad choice, but the staff is not very knowledgeable about the hiking trails near the area.

"Sub par"
emmacP6995TW, 25 Novembre 2017

Less than thrilled when we pulled up to the hotel. First floor room did not have a lock on sliding glass door. Friendly staff did check for 2nd floor room availability but there were none available. Staff told us Angels Lansing was closed- it was not and we did that hike later that day. Not particularly helpful with Zion area related questions. We stayed one night less than planned.

"best of all stays"
michaelfG1427DX, 19 Novembre 2017

we stayed at at least 8 hotels on our trip. Zion BW was the best. very nice room, great bed, exceptionally nice staff in restaurant. great value. place was clean, quiet and large as motel rooms go. restaurant attached, gas station next door with C-store. highly recommend this place.

"The best place to stay to visit both Zion and Bryce Canyon"
Gregor S, 11 Novembre 2017

We had a great vacation visiting both Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. The tremendous beauty of these National Parks was supported by the very warm hospitable Zion Thunderbird Lodge staff. The location of this motel provides great housing for those visiting the two National Parks. This motel was established by a entrepreneurial couple in 1931 and today the family continues to work at the motel. The staff goes out of their way to joyfully invite you to their motel.

"First, this is a MOTEL, not a hotel."
LuvMCO, 04 Novembre 2017

We checked in late (after 9p) and did not get a warm greeting at the front desk - in fact I think the receptionist was high. On to the room... the hotel may have been remodeled recently because at least the furnishing and fixtures seem new. It looked clean at first glance, but we soon discovered a number of concerns (mostly housekeeping related): - hair stuck in the back of the wall mounted hair dryer - hairs around the sink and in the corners of the bathroom floor - water in the ice bucket (not emptied after previous guests) - slight stains on the sheets and a hair - the conditioner dispenser in the shower was empty - the balcony door was unlocked - no hot water in the shower If you're not familiar with area and looking to stay near Zion, I recommend spending a little more for a hotel in Springdale. This place is a 45 minute drive from the main attractions at Zion and there is nothing nearby but gas stations.

"Lovely homely cafe"
megeenmurray, 02 Novembre 2017

We were tired after very long drive and this was a half way stop. We weren't expecting it to be all that. We were so pleased we stopped by! Really nice friendly waiting staff and great food - sweet potatoe fries were delicious ! It was traditional diner food but beautifully presented . The whole ambiance is retro and cosy . The Ho made pies which made them famous are so good as are many other baked treats on sale in the take away bakery - We love youThunderbird cafe

"Always Top Quality"
Otto N, 28 Octobre 2017

The BW EAST ZION THUNDERBIRD is an oasis in southern Utah. Big comfortable rooms with all the amenities you would expect of a 5 star Hotel. I always look forward to my stay there. The restaurant makes their food from scratch and its is a great home meal. Do not miss a piece of the various HO-made pies with a scoop of ice cream. Bring your golf clubs for a fun 9 hole course with a beautiful desert setting. Lastly a very caring staff.

"Old time charm"
Clarence Te-Cye A, 26 Octobre 2017

This hotel has a lot of old time charm. Hotel location is great to visit Zion National Park. The restaurant's food and service is really good. The furniture in the the room is very unique. There is a golf course on the same property.

"Great room"
G4664WKandreag, 25 Octobre 2017

Great room and location good if you are just needing a comfortable place for the night. Otherwise it is what the name of the town says -a junction. Be aware there is no breakfast included and you are limited by the few options in town and the same is true for dinner.

"LOVE THIS PLACE!!!"
nancyrabbit, 20 Octobre 2017

We have stayed here before and we're not disappointed this time! It is so cute and comfortable. Love being able to walk out on the golf course at night to look at the stars! Beds are cozy and everything is super clean. Loved that the bathroom looked like it had recently been retiled. It is the perfect stop if you are doing Bryce and Zion. Can't wait for our third stay!!!!

"Excellent basic motel"
U9855SMrobertr, 18 Octobre 2017

Clean throughout, attractive furnishings, excellent bed, spacious room. Wish it had free breakfast, but the restaurant was a good place to eat. Convenient to Zion National Park. Will gladly stay here again.

"In between two national parks"
88randyj, 14 Octobre 2017

We stayed here because we couldn't get a room closer to Bryce Canyon. Check-in was excellent, as well as check-out. Wi-Fi worked excellent, the food at the restaurant was good, too. And, it was quiet.

"Quite a surprise on the inside"
sue p, 13 Octobre 2017

Pulled up to motel. Looked pretty non-descript. Our room turned out to be very large and decorated with western furniture and accessories. A very nice place. There was a restaurant and a really good size gift shop food was good and lots of fun things in the gift shop. They have a good thing going here.

"A welcome gem in between parks"
janettelead, 09 Octobre 2017

A delightful motel that is conveniently located between Bryce Canyon and Zion. Room was clean, the bed and pillows were awesome! Great décor, the lobby was amazing. The adjoining restaurant served delicious food.

"Excellent place to stay outside of Zion !"
DONNA K, 06 Octobre 2017

This is a well documented place to stay. Clean rooms, excellent staff. Restaurant was too busy for supper. Breakfast was the best ! we did find cobwebs in the corner. Bed was fiendishly and comfortable. I would stay here again for sure. Half way between Zion and Bryce canyon

"A busy. bustling hotel / motel in the perfect position for Zion and Bryce Canyons"
CliveNoble, 04 Octobre 2017

We arrived late for a check in and had been designated a room upstairs..... the very helpful receptionist saw my walking cane and limp and found us the last room on the ground floor with parking right outside. The room was large and comfortable, good bathroom facilities and we were happy there. We can recommend eating in the restaurant attached... the food was excellent and home made pies were amazing and tasty.

Very comfortable motel with easy access to Zion National Park. We stayed for 3 nights and had no complaints. Many wonderful things to see in the area in addition to the park.NIce hot tub to relax in after long days

"Best Hotel of the 8-day trip"
Mary P, 03 Octobre 2017

While visiting the Mighty 5 National Parks in So. Utah, we stayed in a variety of hotels during our 8 night stay. This by far, was the best hotel of the bunch. The room we had was large, comfortable and easy to get to from parking - we were able to park right outside our door. This was such a great hotel, we did not mind the drive into Zion (we thought east Zion was better than the Zion canyon). Bathroom was large and had a walk-in shower which everyone in our party (all over 63) found much easier to use than hoping over a tub.

"Oasis in the desert"
Susan V, 02 Octobre 2017

We scheduled 2 nights each in Zion and Bryce Canyon lodges and had two nights we wanted to stay somewhere in between the parks in order to allow some flexibility in our plans. We felt very fortunate to find Thunderbird Lodge; it was perfect! It's about 45 minutes outside of Zion Canyon and an hour outside of Bryce Canyon. The restaurant had good food and served wine and beer as well.

"Great hotel."
jenniej29, 01 Octobre 2017

Didn't think it looked up to much on first passing, but how wrong we were. It's a really lovely hotel. Our room on the second floor overlooked the golf course, had a small balcony, and was large, clean and well equipped. Most hotel rooms seem very dingy, but here there was plenty of lighting. The furniture was rustic and in keeping with the room. Large TV with plenty of channels. The most impressive thing about the place though was the staff. From reception to the restaurant, to the elderly lady who served us in the shop, all were friendly and welcoming. Dinner in the restaurant was good and we also had a lovely breakfast. No wonder it was busy. It's a really nice place to stay.

"Zion National Park"
sharonhB6012BS, 27 Septembre 2017

I stayed at the Best Western East Zion Thunderbird Lodge on a recent family/friends vacation to the Mighty Five. We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. The rooms have recently updated and are very nice. They are large rooms with a private balcony or patio. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had good service and food.

"Great Place to Stay"
susancD3370MK, 21 Septembre 2017

The girl at the front desk was charming and helpful. She made sure we had everything that we wanted and explained everything. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool. It was clean, and convenient. Everything was beautiful from the grounds to the entry to the rooms. The food at the restaurant was very good.

"A fantastic room!"
bitzers2017, 18 Septembre 2017

The room was clean, quiet, huge, with the best shower. Comfortable bed and soft linen. Great air conditioning. Convenient having a good-sized fridge. Liked our private balcony. Lots of TV channels. Friendly staff. We loved It!

"Review: BW Thunderbird Lodge, Mt. Carmel, UT."
dorothymariep, 15 Septembre 2017

Although I had reserved a room with 2 queen sized beds, the room they had available was a king size bed. I needed to get ready for a wedding, so I took the King. The bed was great, the shower was incredible and the golf course outside the sliding glass door was great. I would love to stay there again.

"Fun hotel in an excellent location"
Kimilee G, 15 Septembre 2017

We had a great time staying here between visiting Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. The location is great. The historic restaurant is fun and the food was excellent. I had the chocolate cream pie!

"Great Value near Zion National Park (Mt. Carmel)"
TravelFanDalyCity, 12 Septembre 2017

Located in Mt. Carmel, Utah...Friendly front desk staff, clean and convenient if you are visiting Zion National Park (you will be entering the park from the east side, so plan accordingly). They have a golf course, gift shop and a cafe (cute, but the food is just OK). Gas station right on the property and across the street makes it convenient as there are not that many gas stations in the area.

"Great room"
Debbie H, 06 Septembre 2017

The location was great to be able to travel to several of the national parks for day trips. The rooms were great-large with a balcony and beautifully decorated with rustic furniture. Would highly recommend staying there. The ONLY issue was the WiFi wasn't always the greatest because of the remote location. It tended to be better in the morning but not so good in the evenings.

"good location, offensive joke"
Teresa R, 04 Septembre 2017

Good location for accessing both Bryce and Zion parks. "Old west" decor, with very heavy pine furniture. Good room. Good internet access. Unfortunately, the attached restaurant has running "joke" in their signage and throughout their menu calling their staff "ho"s. :-(

"Location: Golf Green surounded by Utah Red Rock, Between Zion, Bryce, or North Rim"
nyob, 29 Août 2017

Best Around with the Excellent Best Western Bedding. Interesting Architecture inside, see pictures, no 4 walls perpendicular here. Dark Night Skies full of Milky Way. Note No Microwave. No breakfast offered. Office attached to Gift Shoppe, and good ole family restaurant with Pie. Reasonable Rates. Also, Gas available, important in this part of Utah.

"Very cozy "
Rose M, 28 Août 2017

This place is very cozy and they renovated all rooms and pool. It's very close to the national park and highway going to LA. The front desk is very nice lady and the lady from the store is very sweet and funny! We will be back again!

"Love Jane!!"
ddiver59, 28 Août 2017

Hope your luckyenough to meet her. Hubby injured foot on hike, she checked us in early close to ice machine! When I opened the door I thought there was a mistake. Gorgeous room; Bathroom to die for, great beds. Restaurant a bit pricey but ok.

"Nice hotel"
crtrip665, 25 Août 2017

Hotel was clean and neat. Amanda and Doyle at check in were helpful and pleasant. Room doors lead directly to the parking area which was helpful for unloading luggage. Restaurant and gift shop on premises. Nice pool area. No complimentary breakfast

"golfing was good for this neck of the woods"
cannonater, 22 Août 2017

I took my son and his friend to the Thunderbird Golf course while on a hunting trip. ..Although a 9 hole course we had a great time 3 and 4 pars only but we had a very fun enjoyable time. It plays very quickly and is very economical. 10 bucks with a cart.

"Trip to visit Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon"
Julian S P, 21 Août 2017

Hotel is nicely located for access to Zion National Park and 1 hour drive to Bryce Canyon. It has a fast speed Internet which works fine. Rooms are clean and spacious. It is quite during the night. Restaurant has ribs that are recommended. Portions are big so one portion for 2 people works fine. Nice place.

"A true gem!"
guzziv69, 21 Août 2017

The best road-side Hotel I have ever stayed at. Rooms are very large and comfortable, the shower is truly luxurious. Everything is immaculate and well maintained. A restaurant is attached and a gas station next door has a convenience store inside.

"Great setting"
John T, 20 Août 2017

This establishment is well managed and is in a beautiful setting. While not at the center of any of the main attractions of Southern Utah, it is very close to several of them. The rooms are very nice. The hotel staff is professional. I'd ditch the Keurig coffee maker for a conventional one, and--the big demerit--the restaurant is not very good, a significant issue, as there are next to no food choices in Mt. Carmel Jct.

"Utah Visit"
840timothyh, 13 Août 2017

Hotel was great. Clean room, comfortable bed. Laundry services great. Efficient and low cost. Restaurant staff fantastic. Steaks were not cooked enough even after re-cooking. The rest of the meal was great though.

"Motel in the center of a bunch of Utah's National Parks"
Richard S, 08 Août 2017

This place is pretty nice considering it's age. It has been remodeled not long ago so it has updates most want. The Wifi is free but it is glacial in speed. They told me all the wifi in the area is slow because of the terrain. No free breakfast at this motel and I would not recommend eating at the lodge restaurant. Prices are high for the low quality of the food and the mediocre service. Not many restaurants close by but those that are, couldn't be much worse. I feel the room rent was about what I would expect for such a seasonal lodge, they have to make it while they can. The place was clean and the beds are good.

"Quiet, Central Get-Away"
Patricia B, 08 Août 2017

This lodge is a great option to be near the east side of Zion National Park. It's more remote than the bustling community of Springdale but has a beautiful golf course that is a bargain for hotel guests (even with no clubs). It was perfect for our extended family get-together because we were close to both Zion and Bryce National Parks and just down the road from Kanab (17 miles), with restaurants we adore: Rockin V and Peekaboo Canyon that have vegan options. Although I prefer central air conditioning, we didn't even need to run the room air conditioner at night and we visited during August. It's a great value for the price. Make sure to visit the German bakery down the road in Orderville for a real treat: great sandwiches & strudel!

"Great For Several Reasons"
Deanna C, 06 Août 2017

I looked at several places to stay so we could enjoy Bryce and Zion. This was a great location! We were so close that we were able to visit the Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Bryce, Zion, and Moqui Cave, and could've gone into Northern AZ. The restaurant stayed open until 11:00, as did the adjacent gas station. The scenery around was beautiful. There is a pool, a sitting area outside each room, golfing to enjoy during your stay as well. There were a few kinks, all of which are easily workable, and we did exactly that. I was fortunate also to have someone still at the desk for a late check-in, and am greatly appreciative for that. Should we come back to this area, we would definitely stay here again, and certainly recommend to others.

"Great stay, good location, accessible to three National Parks."
Ahardyk, 03 Août 2017

This was a lovely hotel located within east drive of Bryce Canyon (45 min), Zion (35 min) and North Rim of the Grand Canyon (about 2 hrs). We stayed 5 nights here to visit all of these parks. It was certainly considerably cheaper than staying in Springdale. I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the room was. Had plenty of room to spread out all 4 of our suitcases and could still move around. It was clean and the bathroom was a good size. Beds comfortable. Pool and spa very nice, well kept. There is an insight 9 hole golf course ( not the best per my husband but low fees to play and rent clubs, my son and husband played 19 holes and rented clubs for about 40 dollars). Restaurant on site very good food if not a bit expensive. Would not want to eat there every night. One downside here would definitely be few food choices--a subway and another small restaurant only choices. Great desserts--must have the pie!! Staff were nice and accommodating. Fortunately did not have a problem during our stay. You could go all the way to Kanab for a bigger town and mor dining options, but since you need to be parked at Zion before 9am, it was a much shorter drive, and we got to take the scenic east entrance every time. I would highly recommend this lovely hotel to anyone who wants a great spot for visiting parks.

"Just what we were looking for"
Gus B, 03 Août 2017

We had been driving a lot and were winding down our vacation. What we needed was a clean hotel with laundry facilities and room to spread out our stuff to re-pack and organize for the final stretch of our trip, and have a pool. This hotel had this and more. Friendly staff and great location to get off and on the road made this place a winner for us.

"Our relaxation station"
Hdanger, 02 Août 2017

Love this place. The rooms are very spacious and the staff is always very friendly. Take advantage of the restuarant and get yourself a Ho-made pie. Golfing is always a fun activity here. And the pool make for an excellent escape during the hot summer weather.

"Thunderbird"
wpaynter, 02 Août 2017

We had a good stay at the Thunderbird Inn. The room was clean and accessible for my wheelchair. The restaurant served large portions of food. It would have been nice th have had a complimentary breakfast but at least the restaurant was available.

"Decent stay"
JimGBP, 01 Août 2017

My wife and two children spent two nights at this hotel as we explored Bryce Canyon. (Not the ideal location for Bryce Canyon but we planned this trip later than we should have.) It's 60 mikes from Bryce and the drive is manageable unless you want to see the sunrise. The hotel is fine. The room was spacious with nice decor. The beds were comfortable with good pillows. The bathroom, while dated was clean. The staff at check-in was very polite and helpful. Our experience was fine and would recommend it on the assumption you aren't looking for a hotel with high end amenities. The drawback is twofold. One, limited dining options and two no grocery store. For these you need to drive to Kanab, a 17 mile drive.

"Located Near Zion NP"
gtch555, 26 Juillet 2017

This is a nice hotel located near Zion NP. The hotel was adjacent to a golf course and offered free club rentals and discounted greens fees. The hot tub and pool were adequate, but a short hike from our rooms on the far end of the property. The rooms were clean and comfortable with recently remodeled bathroom and shower. Even though our room was located next to the ice machine, it was very quiet. My one complaint is that Our coffee maker in the room did not work and since breakfast was not included, we needed to get coffee from the gas station in the morning. The hotel also has a gas/convenience store, gift shop, and restaurant on the property.

"Glad to have had a chance to return"
mojave_ben, 26 Juillet 2017

I wrote an extensive review in 2015, so this is just a short update to that. If you're a hiker, check out that review for more info. Mt. Carmel Junction is little more than that, a junction. A couple of gas stations, some convenience stores, a few motels (I've only ever stayed at the Thunderbird, which looks much nicer than the others), and this year there was a nice guy selling produce out of a small stand by the parking lot. There's also a restaurant and a gift shop at the Thunderbird. I really enjoy staying at the Thunderbird. The rooms are large and well furnished. Small fridge, microwave, k-cup coffee maker, nice bath, excellent housekeeping, clean and very well maintained. Plenty of ice and coin laundry. Excellent wifi. For us it is a very comfortable place to stay and there are so so many places to explore on the east side of Zion if you're a hiker. There's several web sites that have great info, maps, etc on routes to wander around the East Zion slickrock country, which is stunningly beautiful and rather untraveled, though I will say, choose a route in keeping with your experience and ability. But options range from short family strolls with fun stuff to find to day long strenous hikes with awesome views, and it's only 20 minutes away. An evening walk at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes, also only about 20 minutes away, with the long shadows of the dunes for great photos, is also a nice way to end the day. Much to see if you want to drive an hour. Paria Canyon, Buckskin Gulch, great places in the Grand Staircase, Bryce of course but also Red Canyon which is similar but much less visited once you leave the road. Let's just say I've spent a week out there for at least 6 years and I haven't run out of places to go! We like to chill in the big room and usually just eat, barefoot after our hiking day, out of the microwave. It's a good idea to bring most of your food as there's no store but there is a decent "Honey's" supermarket down in Kanab, where there's also a number of restaurant options. I've always been greeted kindly by the front desk and I really enjoy staying here. I look forward to trips where I can stay at the Thunderbird for 3 or 4 days or even a week. Very relaxing.

"Comfortable Beds"
danielwilliamd2017, 24 Juillet 2017

Clean, huge rooms. Comfortable beds, Amazing staff. We left our phone charger in the room. When I called back the next day, the lovely lady that answered the phone not only found my charger, but mailed it to me as well!!

"Refreshingly clean and well designed and decorated"
N9825NRkevins, 21 Juillet 2017

Nice big room, comfortable beds, great pool and the restaurant looked nice (although we didn't eat there). Good location for several Nat'l Parks (including Zion, Bryce & the Grand Canyon). Will stay here again when we come again next year.

"Passing thru"
amybM8018TT, 20 Juillet 2017

Rooms nice and clean. A beautiful view out the room . Fun wood theme in the rooms! Front desk was very helpful! Especially the lady in the evening when we checked in ! Little pricey but it's due to the area we were in. Restaurant food was good but little slow to get our drinks refilled.

"BEWARE !!! THIEVES WORK HERE"
622patriciah, 19 Juillet 2017

BEWARE!! – THIEVES OPERATE this motel! While spending one night I accidently left my “backup” purse. I always carry 2 purses when traveling so I didn't know that purse was missing until I got home a week later as I would only have used it in an emergency. They notified me FIVE DAYS AFTER OUR STAY that they had my purse! After several attempts to contact them they finally returned it AFTER REMOVING $300 and RUMMAGING and REARRANGING everything in my purse! The motel is overpriced since it is out in the boondocks and no other motels around. It is furnished with uncomfortable cheaply made log furniture, bad odor in the room, not very clean bedding/bathroom, bugs crawling/flying around and there is no free breakfast! The woman at front desk was rude and did not seem to know how to operate a computer and did not want to give me a receipt! I have always been a BestWestern traveler …but no more! I will switch to another chain and keep my purse and valuables in sight! I will also alert state officials and the Mount Carmel police about the highway robbers operating at this motel.

"Great lodge near Zion park"
GE0RGE_KYR, 18 Juillet 2017

It's not the cheapest lodge around, but probably one of the best! Very spacious room, very comfortable bed, everything was simply great - no complaints at all. The on-site restaurant was also simply great - you should try breakfast there.

"Oasis between Bryce and Zion"
Tricia A, 17 Juillet 2017

Mount Carmel is a tiny area - a little crossroad with a few businesses...but the perfect little stop between Zion and Bryce. This hotel was very clean and I loved that our back door opened on to the par 3 golf course. The course is super easy and you can get free club rentals ,a cart and 9 holes for $15 - what a deal! The pool was nice and there is also a hot tub- towels provided. Friendly staff and a quiet area :) The downsides - no complimentary breakfast and not much around. The hotel restaurant seemed overpriced, but you can go to one of the 2 convenient stores and get coffee, packaged pastries or other pre-packaged foods. There is also a Subway....but if you are planning on going into a park early - get your sandwich the night before ( Subway did not open until 8 AM ). Great little stop for a night!

"Beautiful and clean"
852tiffb, 16 Juillet 2017

This is a beautiful location that sits on a great par-3 golf course. The rooms were very clean and beautifully decorated with a nice back patio/entrance. There is also a nice, clean pool. The staff is also friendly.

"Adequate hotel just not the best location"
Tatum2919, 13 Juillet 2017

Hotel was nice had a weird smell but was clean and nice. It's past Zion park and I would recommend staying at a hotel in Springdale. This is a nice option if heading on to the Grand Canyon. It's off the beaten path but is clean and efficient for a one night stay.

"Strategic position "
G2257TKVincent, 13 Juillet 2017

At around 1 hour to Zion NP and Bryce Canyon NP. Good amenities like a swimming pool and a hot tub. Spacious room. Breakfast NOT included but possible to have at the onsite restaurant : varied choice and really delicious.

"Beautiful place and such nice people!"
SCtripSC, 12 Juillet 2017

Enjoyed our stay at the Thunderbird. The decor was was what I might call "elegant rustic." The Western theme used beautiful natural wood and a rustic theme, but was of top quality and very pleasing decor. In addition to a lovely room, the beds were comfortable, and everyone there was friendly and helpful. The nice ladies at the front desk even offered us a "loaner" microwave, since we discovered when we got there we had forgotten to ask if there was one. They went out of their way to be helpful and to make sure our stay was enjoyable and comfortable. Very near both Zion and Bryce National Parks. Good mid-way stop. Recommend.

"Rustic decor and a great stay!"
Faith H, 12 Juillet 2017

This is definitely a lodge and not your average hotel. I loved the rustic decor and easy feeling, but the comforts of a hotel with the convenience of an excellent restaurant on the property are VERY nice!--there are even washers and dryers! Our room was very spacious and so clean and inviting. We chose this location to easily visit both Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, and I would definitely return to this lodge. The staff is wonderfully helpful--and fun! The free WiFi worked just great. I am not a breakfast food person, at home I eat a clean diet, but their breakfast was an excellent treat and cheat! I found this lodge in my AAA book, and I have to say that I'm very impressed with this lodge and that it's a Best Western. I'd stay at a Best Western again based on my great stay here--we stayed for two nights only as we were driving across country. This was our only time on the trip we stayed more than one night. I also loved that the sliding glass doors had our own patio on their golf course. Nice to sit out under the amazing starry sky at night, too!

"Wonderful Location"
thewanderingduo2017, 09 Juillet 2017

The staff treat you like family! I have recommended it to my close friends and family. The rooms were spacious and clean. I had a ground floor room between the pool and golf course that was delightful.

"Great hotel but at bit overpriced"
Wanderer_KR, 06 Juillet 2017

We stayed here for a night during our road trip to Zion National Park and Bryce. Room was big and clean with a balcony and staff was friendly. There was no complimentary breakfast so that was additional cost for 4 people on top of already expensive room. Adjacent shop was helpful to grab water and snacks. Restaurant on the site where we did breakfast was good.

"The travels of two friends"
Karen M, 05 Juillet 2017

The Best Western was fine. The front desk was not fine; the young woman was not professional. The food at the restaurant was very poor as was the service. Really, wilted lettuce, rotten avocado, and cold french fries. Very POOR.

"Great Value Btwn Natl Park visits"
MovinMom07, 04 Juillet 2017

Was very pleased with this stay, one of 4 hotels we used on a loop through Cedar Breaks, Bryce Canyon, Grand Escalante and Zion. Met my primary criteria: clean and comfortable and in budget. Secondarily, the perfect temp. outdoor pool was steps away from the patio of our 1st floor room, a great place to relax after the hikes in 90+ degree weather. Quiet location just 12 mi. from East entrance of Zion (nice for Canyon Overlook Trail, East Mesa Trail, Checkerboard Mesa). Few food options nearby, but the inn's restaurant quality was good and we shared our breakfasts and dinner which made the price more reasonable (easy to do as portions are large). Stocked up gas, snacks and picnic lunches from the adjacent Chevron - nice convenience. The only downside with this and a few other places we stayed is they don't offer a rollaway or sofabed. We have a boy and a girl who need there own bed. That would be the only reason why we wouldn't return.

"Thunderbird Lodge"
lyndab813, 04 Juillet 2017

Our family stays at this motel several times every summer. We have always found the service to be accommodating and friendly. The rooms are clean and the pool and golf course are added bonuses. I encourage you to visit and be sure to thank Jane and Amanda for their sensitive help.

"Great location"
Carolyn H, 01 Juillet 2017

This hotel was a perfect location for visiting Bryce, Zion and Grand Canyon. We stayed 3 nights during May. The room was clean and very spacious and included a small fridge. The on sight restaurant was convenient and had the best Coconut Cream pie ever!

"Great place to stay!"
902jeanneh, 27 Juin 2017

This was the perfect location for our trip to Zion Natl Park. The drive in was beautiful and we were away from the touristy expensive hotels in Springdale. Loved our stay. Would definitely choose this hotel again.

"Overpriced"
Michal G, 27 Juin 2017

The place is overpriced however conveniently located next to Zion NP. Restaurant is much too overpriced, food so, so and service rather lousy. We had AC issue in our room, staff showed a lot of understanding but still had to stay in a hot room.

"Great place to stay."
V9541FGsandrak, 26 Juin 2017

Very clean. Easy to find. Enjoyed our stay. However no continental breakfast. They had a nice store with 19 percent off for those staying there. Restaurant that was attached was a big pricey but decent food.

"An Oasis on your roadtrip"
Ray H, 26 Juin 2017

The Thunderbird restaurant serves a great selection of good quality food with friendly staff. The Thunderbird Lodge rooms have a unique decor. They are clean and efficient also roomy. The staff of both the hotel and restaurant are friendly and accomodating.

"National Park vacation"
rosalies655, 26 Juin 2017

Ok location but had to travel to restaurant other than at hotel. One of the more expensive hotels we stayed at for the out of the way location. Had same accommodations in Grand Canyon for less. Was a little surprised by that.

"It's fine"
520matthewn, 13 Juin 2017

It'll do if it's your only option. Clean, etc. But it was pricier than the other places I stayed in the region. If you book early, you can probably get the same for cheaper, but if you can't it will definitely do.

"Beautiful Location with a convenient drive to Zion!"
lindasW7658WD, 05 Juin 2017

Great hotel !! Golfed their golf course and enjoyed the beauty all around. Comfortable beds and large room with patio out the back! Enjoyed the restaurant for Dinner. Staff caring and helpful! Close enough but not too close to all of the Zion national park tourists. Pleasant, beautiful scenery and drive to the park! many amenities, but reasonable cost for this area!

"Not Impressed"
346timothyt, 04 Juin 2017

Booked online; didn't realize it was a motel. Not nearly as nice in person. Room had terrible lighting, TV didn't work properly, room and pool felt unclean. Staff wasn't terribly friendly. Restaurant was incredibly overpriced for bad food (waitstaff were the only friendly people).

"Nice place, but no breakfast included!"
Gene C, 04 Juin 2017

Very nice hotel with large rooms and outdoor seating. Good location if visiting Zion or Bryce NP's. Just disappointed that not breakfast was included in the rate. Not even a discount our limited menu offered. Food at the restaurant was good, but my experience has been that BW's offer breakfast or some type of accomodation at the neighboring restaurant.

"May one night stay over"
virginiar300, 31 Mai 2017

The rooms were very nice, but restaurant over priced for the food we recieved, on check in we got two room keys, both of which would not access room, so in the cold/rain,back to lobby , one worked in front door after that, the other worked on patio door LOL..did like they had ashtray out on patio for guests to use

"Great Location !"
Byron M, 29 Mai 2017

Everyone from the check in to the check out was friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and refreshing. The restaurant on site is the home of the ho-made pies which are second to none! Fried Chicken in the restaurant is a knock out! Don't hesitate to stay here ! We will be back.

"Average stay, but not great value"
J E, 23 Mai 2017

We stayed here after a visit to Zion National Park. While the room was reasonable, the value wasn't great because there was not complimentary continental breakfast like most motels or inns. The building decor was interesting, in the American southwestern style. The Thunderbird Café is located in the lobby. At the cafe, after a long wait for the hostess, we were greeted with not a good morning, but "It will be at least at 10 minute wait. AT LEAST." The hotel clerks had promoted the French toast as being special, but it was overrated. The French toast looked like it was dipped briefly and partially on both sides in the batter like someone's first attempt at making it. Otherwise, the hash browns and eggs were satisfactory.

"Stay in Carmel Junction, Utah"
David H, 23 Mai 2017

It was ok stay , the front desk was helpful, the restaurant so-so. The rooms are slightly over-priced. CC @ the front desk was very helpful with directions and places to visit in the area. The scenery was nice.

"Don't come here with your RV!!"
Stefanie Z, 20 Mai 2017

Horrible experience. Called ahead for their "RV Park" - what a joke! It's just a parking lot off the highway, across the street from the best western. Called twice and no one cared to mention there is NO available bathrooms facilities, we were told to go to the RV park a couple miles away to use their showers.... seriously? When we arrived someone had his truck in our space and nowhere to be found, seems like they are just making money out of a parking lot across their hotel but don't take ownership when something needs to be corrected. DONT DO IT!!

"Shining pillar of excellence"
Don D, 20 Mai 2017

If your are traveling west to Zion National Park or want to visit a number of the Utah parks near the Grand Canyon don't consider anywhere else. Good attitudes by all, large rooms with good light, great restaurant in traditional American cookery, You can even get in 9 holes of golf if you have a slow afternoon. Really outstanding location, service, cleanliness, and willingness to help you out.

"The road less traveled has made all the difference..."
JoAnne M, 17 Mai 2017

I recently stayed at the BW Thunderbird Lodge with a group of friends while seeing Utah's Mighty Five National Parks. It is sort of off the beaten path; that is - not on the main entrance road to Zion, but rather the back entrance from Mt. Carmel Junction. And to me, that was the best part! Each day we got to travel beautiful Highway 12 and go through 2 historic tunnels! The hotel itself is a family operation, and appears to have been recently renovated to include lovely tile work in the bathrooms. Meals are not included but there is a delightful and historic restaurant adjacent, also worth visiting. Be sure to try the "Ho'made" pies! I highly recommend this entire facility!

"Interesting history to the Motel"
janed78, 14 Mai 2017

Easy to find and very friendly staff at the motel which has been family runs for decades. Lovely clean room with patio onto the lawns and swimming pool, with Jacuzzi. Golf course attached and large restaurant with plenty of choice for dinner and breakfast.

NO FREE breakfast served at this Best Western! Prices are little higher than some of the other Best Westerns I've stayed at in the past. Hotel staff was excellent to deal with and the location was not far from Zion National Park.

"The Best at Best Western Zion"
Shirley W, 09 Mai 2017

The room was spacious, nice and clean, we loved the handmade wood log frames around all the furniture, it added a different western charm. Loved our little patio. The bed was SO comfy, and the pillows too. And the shower head felt like we were under a waterfalls, so nice! Receptionist very helpful, even loaned me a travel guide on Bryce. Very quiet slept like babies! Good restaurant to walk to also.

"nice place to stay"
bonnieg59, 07 Mai 2017

We had issues because of wheelchair accessibility and the management did not address my complaints...however the room was lovely, the view lovely, quiet, restaurant excellent. One employee recommended the french toast for breakfast and it did not disappoint!!

"Expensive, but a nice stop. Unexpectedly comfortable"
John R, 06 Mai 2017

The motel is old but has gone through extensive renovations. The restaurant is open from 7am to 10pm; we found the room (111) to be oversized, nicely furnished with wooden furniture, TV/remote worked as they should, the patio led to the swimming pool and golf course. The beds were large and comfortable and the A/C worked! Absolutely no complaints about the room. The staff was friendly and the food at the restaurant good.

"Would Stay There Again"
G2972NWjamess, 05 Mai 2017

A slightly older hotel with Native American decor and great gift shop. Quiet, non-smoking rooms and very comfortable beds. Felt really welcomed by staff. Would definitely stay there again. A nice respite from touring the UT national parks.

"Average hotel for high price"
abillings36, 02 Mai 2017

Hotel was ok, but overpriced for what you get. The wifi was constantly not working. The resteraunt is extremely overpriced and the food isn't anything special. Beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. Rooms were fairly clean but could use updating.

"Beautiful room!"
joeldebbie, 01 Mai 2017

Loved our stay. Room overlooked the golf course, and had a patio out the back door. Unique property, and tastefully updated. So quiet and comfortable. Clean, too! We rode the ATV trails, but super close to Zion NP. We definitely come back!

"Lots of Green"
Larry J, 29 Avril 2017

Five of us on a motorcycle trip stayed here. The property consists of several 2 story buildings with lots of green space around them. A restaurant is part of the property so you can walk to dinner. The rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable.

"Honeymoon Suite"
247derekw, 22 Avril 2017

Great room very nice remodel with a steam shower with 6 heads and a claw foot bathtub. Comfortable bed Great service. Nice place to stay when coming form Bryce Canyon Park. Way more then we expected. Easy check in and check out. We would stay again if we get back to the area.

"No free breakfast. Not worth the $170 for standard room."
TW W, 18 Avril 2017

I stayed here one night for 170$ including tax with a AAA discount. I had a good experience with best western before and assumed they have the same amenities. Wished I had checked online first instead of calling to book. Sure the furniture was beautiful with solid wood furniture and a fancy Keurig coffee machine. But I thought the high price included breakfast. I would rather have driven 30 minutes extra to a $120 with free breakfast. Also, when I was checking out there at 7am was no one at the front desk. I got tired of waiting and left a note with my room keys to check out. Also there's nothing to do in town. No restaurants or anything other than a hotel and a gas station.

"Great hotel to stay at"
gb51hale, 17 Avril 2017

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western. We had no complaints. Staff was pleasant and the room was very clean. We did eat at one of the Best Westerns that offered buffet breakfast and it was very good.

"Excellent for east access to Zion"
NotaSucker, 16 Avril 2017

Since we wanted to spend a full day at Zion National Park, we stayed at this hotel, which is a 15-minute beautiful drive from the East Entrance. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was big and comfortable. The hotel restaurant was good. If you pay attention to design -- the furniture and decoration are all based on big logs, even the picture frames -- not a minimalist's dream...

"Great location for Zion and Bryce"
jasmith12345, 10 Avril 2017

We stayed here for 4 nights to go to Zion and Bryce National Parks. It is on the east side of the park, which means you have to drive through the park to be able to park for Zion park shuttle but it is a very scenic drive with good stops along the way for hikes and photo opportunities. The food at the lodge was good and affordable. Rooms were clean and comfortable with a small refrigerator; large closet area and nice bathroom. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely recommend!

"Truly Satisfied"
kawena02, 06 Avril 2017

What can one say except that we were truly satisfied with Best Western as usual. Looking forward to our next trip to book our stay with Best Western. The comfort of the beds is something that must be mentioned.

"Nice stay!"
F5028SYkennethk, 04 Avril 2017

We enjoyed staying here--it was a great location between Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. We spent two nights here. Our first floor room had direct access to the hot tub, which felt great after hiking during the day--used it both nights. No breakfast and a little pricey, but still a good place to stay.

"Best Western Hotel, Mt Carmel, UT"
Linda A, 04 Avril 2017

The hotel room was large and designed very well for privacy in the sink area and bathroom. The beds were very comfortable with a variety of pillow softness/hardness. The table was good for using the computer, but the chairs were not computer chairs, so they weren't high enough for me. Internet was spotty at times. The staff were very helpful and courteous.

"Luved this hotel"
User, 03 Avril 2017

I really liked this hotel for many reasons: When we checked in, our lady gave us a lot of information on Zion. She also told us about the rewards system of Best Western. The room was spotless and attractive with natural wood furnishings. It had a large television. It had a Keurig (although no creamer or sweetener). AND it had many electrical outlets--enough for us to conveniently plug in all our gadgets. The restaurant was very good and so was the gift shop. VERY NICE HOTEL!

"Nice and unique"
VeroVAV, 24 Novembre 2016

A perfect place after a day of hiking at Bryce and Zion National parks. One of a kind furniture make your experience unique and memorable. Size and cleanliness of the room #100 meet our expectations. Staff is friendly and helpful. We will recommend this place to anyone who would like to visit national parks or just get away.

"A Terrific Place to Stay"
Tim D, 12 Novembre 2016

My wife and I had intended to spend our five nights in the Bryce/Zion area in St. George, but once we realized the distance from St. George to Bryce, we decided to seek a reservation to stay in Mount Carmel. We found the Best Western East Zion Thunderbird Lodge, and they had a room for us. This motel was very clean, and we received a warm and welcoming reception when we arrived. We stayed two nights in a very nice room that looked out on the golf course. The room had all that we needed, and this was a great choice for us, for we could spend a whole day at Bryce Canyon and not have to worry about driving all the way back to St. George. We might have liked a free breakfast, but the presence of a restaurant on the property precluded that. We would stay at the Best Western East Zion Thunderbird Lodge on our next visit to the Bryce Canyon area.

"What a surprise"
Don L, 11 Novembre 2016

While the hotel didn't look like much from the outside, we were extremely happy with the quality of the room, cleanliness, and SIZE. Very, very large room. Great value for the money. Location was fine for visiting Zion. Skipped Springdale to save money, and happy we did. The restaurant is very good. Pies were excellent.

"Great location, great service, perfect for our needs"
Robin101210, 07 Novembre 2016

This hotel was just perfect for us after a full day of touring Zion!! We checked in with the very friendly attendant to a nice room, took a short nap, and walked a short walk to a great dinner. Our server was fantastic, very personable and the food was very good. The pie was great!! They were very busy with buses but gave each table above average service. The next day I realized I left very important earrings here and they quickly mailed them back to my home, and were so kind and helpful in the process I HIGHLY recommend this personal nature of this hotel. We left here to go to Bryce and it was just perfect.

"Good Location to Visit 2 National Parks - Zion and Bryce"
Cooper1941, 01 Novembre 2016

Amazed at the price for a large, clean room with two queen beds. May have been off season rates didn't ask- $110 including tax. Would definitely stay again should that be a stopping point when traveling in the area. Did not eat in the restaurant.

"Pleasure trip"
481989, 29 Octobre 2016

Hotel was cute. Room was larger with a nice sitting room. Bathroom was clean. What makes this hotel is the restaurant.our breakfast was excellent and their pies are wonderful. It is easy access to Zion and other fun state parks. We had a great trip and slept well

"Rocky Introduction but Nice Stay"
Linda B, 29 Octobre 2016

After all day exploration of Zion, we were definitely looking forward to relaxing a BW East Zion, which we chose based on our travel itinerary in Southern Utah. We were greeted at check-in, with a sign saying the hotel has no water. No water in rooms, no water in restaurant. Bathroom facility was arranged with gas station across the street. Next encounter was waiting in line to check in, and watching a heated exchange between two tired travelers and understandably frazzeled staff. Tempers were frayed, and the exchange went on for almost 20 minutes before their issues were resolved. Not the best introduction to one's overnight stay. When it was our turn, to discuss our options, we learned that BW was prepared to reduce bill 60%, that the next lodging was at Kanab, an additional 25 miles down the road, and that there was no telling when or if the water issue would be repaired. Our road-weariness, made us opt for the known "roof over our head" rather than an unknown alternative down the road. We didn't think offering a discount of 60% was near enough, but we decided to forgo the argument until the next day at checkout....Fortunately, the water was restored a few hours after our settling into our room. The restaurant re-opened and we give huge kudos to the waiters and restaurant staff for bringing relief to all of the stressed out travelers who opted to stay. Their care, concern and friendliness turned a horrible situation right! We provided a review regarding this situation to BW direct (identical to this, except a bit more critical of the desk staff for "losing their cool"), and received a prompt, professional and grateful reply from the manager. All's well that ends well!

"Close to the Parks"
EYHM, 28 Octobre 2016

Short driving time to Zion & Bryce National Park. Nearby convenient stores are available if u need quick breakfast as breakfast in their restaurant doesn't come cheap. Room is clean. No microwave. Wanted to chill my drinks, fridge is available but not working. No ice in ice machine either. Other than that, still a pleasant stay.

"Excellent Stay"
Livia J, 28 Octobre 2016

This was a spur of the moment walk in stay. The hotel was spotlessly clean, Check-in was very efficient with friendly service. Their lobby, rooms, and restaurant had unique historical, and authentic decor representing the characteristics of the area. We have already recommended this hotel to other travelers we met in the days following our stay, who were heading through Mt Carmel Junction.

"Has all you want for your stay without he glitz!"
T A P, 28 Octobre 2016

We stayed the night before our trip to Zion national park. This hotel is simple in style but has all you need and has an elegant country style decor. The rooms are motel style but inside very nice. Has backdoors for easy access to laundry, restaurant, etc. The bed and air conditioning were nice. The furniture was nice and ample. Flat screen with direct TV. The shower had good flow of hot water, but ko bath tub. laundry and ice are available.

"Very convenient"
Shelley M, 25 Octobre 2016

Best Western East Zion Thunderbird Lodge was a perfect location to get to Zion National Park, lovely scenic drive. Restaurant had great food, best chips I have ever had! Both hotel staff and restaurant staff were very helpful

"Great location and setting"
FloridaTheresa, 23 Octobre 2016

Pros--1 A beautiful setting (Our room looks out to a beautiful mountain.) 2. Room itself--well appointed, clean, nice patio to sit on and watch sunrise or have a drink. 3. Our room backed up to a golf course. Cons--1) Some rooms only have a shower 2) Service in restaurant was terrible --we ended up going across the street to a local restaurant where we enjoyed the food and got great service 3) No elevator so ask for lower level room if that's important for you. 4.) No free breakfast.

"Great surprise stay after Zion Visit"
nazkar14, 21 Octobre 2016

After our visit to Zion saw vacancy light on this hotel decided to pull in and stay for a night. Price was OK kind of a resort that has a golf course and restaurant part of the property. The decor of everything the room, restaurant country for sure in very good taste. Room was clean and beds (only offered queens) were great. Would I stay again if ever was in the area would be yes!. The restaurant is a little pricey $14.00 for a burger but not much that I saw heading out the next morning so we stayed put for the night.

"An unexpected gem!"
eyechick, 17 Octobre 2016

Despite good reviews on TripAdvisor, we had heard mixed things about this place. Most of the Zion hotels and motels are on the Springdale side of the park, but this was a great location for going on to Bryce Canyon. The town is nothing, and from the outside the hotel is also, but the rooms are great! Jimmy at the front desk was extremely helpful. Our room on the second floor overlooked the golf course and was huge, quiet, clean and nicely furnished. And the price was much lower than prices in Springdale. Highly recommended!

"No mini bar, but a mini bathtub."
Kenneth N, 17 Octobre 2016

No AAA, AArp or BW rewards member discount. No hot breakfast. Poor value compared to what we found later in Cedar City. The bathtub in our room was three foot long. We found a hotel in Cedar City that was a much nicer room, came with a full hot breakfast and was half the price of what we paid for this room. Staying here would have added about 25 miles more for us to get to the National Parks, but it would have been worth it.

"Away from the city"
Joffendoffy, 13 Octobre 2016

Nice place to stay, we had a ground floor room with a patio that opened right to the pool area. Had some troubles to start with, that water line broke, no fault of the motel, and they offered us 60% off the first night because of it. Was only given 40% off and had some struggles getting it resolved, but it was fixed and we got the 60% off as promised. It's a little bit of a drive to Kanab, but with the restaurants nearby and the rocks shops in Orderville we didn't need to travel to Kanab very often. Left the hotel and drove straight into Zion National Park. Over all a pretty nice stay.

"Big Rooms, Pleasant Stay"
Bob H, 12 Octobre 2016

Staying here to visit Zion was a far cry from the hustle and bustle of Springdale at the other side of the park. The extra drive was worth it for us. The motel was clean, friendly, well appointed; large rooms, comfortable beds, nice amenities like a hot tub and pool open until 11:00 every night through October. We fully enjoyed our stay there (and could have even played 9 holes of golf on the adjoining golf course, if we hadn't been so busy hiking in Zion.

"BW lower end motel"
endis, 07 Octobre 2016

We arrived late in night. Check-in was quick, friendly. It is not a hotel, it is like normal motel. Western style wooden furniture. The insulation of the building is very poor, room was cold. There is an old heater by the window, when you switch it on it smells burnt and is very noisy indeed. Without normal heating system the bathroom in the morning is just like coldstore. The linen on one of our beds was stained. The noise isolation between rooms is very poor, our neighbors were watching tv until 2 in the morning, some western type movie, it was clearly heard in our room. Pros : good coffee maker, no problems with internet, got a discount for petrol at nearby station. Overall: from BW chain i would expect more considering their price, quite dissappointed. Would better stayed in Kanab, 20 minutes further drive.

"Great place!"
Devin Y, 06 Octobre 2016

I found my self being very surprised with this hotel. Spacious with strong wifi, back patios that opened onto the lawn, clean. The only quirky thing was an awkward sized bathtub - looked like a kiddie tub. Not a big deal but we got a laugh out of it. Great location being close to Zion. Restaurants in the area are lacking - basically one choice, which is part of the hotel...

"Fun place"
Liza G, 05 Octobre 2016

This place was fun. Unique design...don't be looking for a regular BW type motel. It is an Adobe orange colored building, combo resturant and lobby. Rooms are in two buildings in the rear. We got the "old" part. It was the original old motel string of rooms. The new addition had a separate building with several floors. Both buildings around a green space also containing an outdoor pool and hottub. And the whole thing is on a beautiful 9 hole golf course! Our room had been totally redone and redone well. Not huge but plenty of room. Good bed, linens etc. Bathroom all redone. Fun little patio overlooking the grassy area. Only complaint about the room was that the little fridge had no freezer compartment. We carry a cooler and like to refreeze our freezer packs each night. No included breakfast. We ate at the resturant for dinner and breakfast. Don't try the chicken cordon blu special, very dry and not cooked properly. Breakfast was ok, had a cinnamon roll that was very good. The staff here were very friendly and helpful. Site also has gas and an amp type market.

"Good stopover place "
Viviane H, 01 Octobre 2016

This is an amazing place: a pink building , a motel with very large western style rooms, a basic diner type restaurant ( average diner, good breakfast ), a very well appointed gift shop ( you get a 10% discount if you stay there ), a gas station ( you get 20cts off per gallon if you stay there ) , and ..... a golf course ! When we were there they had a car show , children's games, helicopter and hot air balloon rides. And as a bonus you are only 12 miles from Zion National Park.

"Nice place to stay betwee Bryce and Zion"
Douglas H, 30 Septembre 2016

Originally, we planned on visiting Zion Natl Park and then staying at this Best Western that evening, getting a head start on going to Bryce Natl Park the next day. When we saw that the morning temperatures in Bryce were going to be in the 30s, we changed our plans and went there in the afternoon and our reservations at this motel worked out just as great. Our room was nice, had a mini-fridge without ice compartment but no microwave. We had a room overlooking the golf course and it was a quiet location. The room was not inexpensive but worked well for our purposes.

"Surprisingly Nice!!"
JackieBoy22, 28 Septembre 2016

Stayed here while riding motorcycles through Zion and Bryce Canyon and the location was convenient for heading south to the Grand Canyon the next morning. VERY nice property with southwestern decor, rooms appeared to be newly remodeled and were very comfortable and clean. The restaurant attached had very good food and there is a good gift shop in the lobby. And, it's on a golf coarse if you're in to that. Very happy that we chose this hotel.

"Best hotel near Zion"
469beverlys, 25 Septembre 2016

We very much enjoyed the Western decor and spacious room in the newest section of this motel. It is in a very convenient location just east of Zion Nat'l. Park with a restaurant on-site. The food was good but it was difficult to get seated just after sunset when other travelers arrived at the same time.

"Surprising Gem"
Ibyke, 24 Septembre 2016

This motel in Mount Carmel Junction is a surprise in the middle of nowhere. Our king room was actually a suite with a living/eating area and a bedroom, a TV in each room. It has a frig and microwave. Both rooms are spacious. You park outside your room and we had a back door. There is a guest laundry which was very important to us. You are about 35 minutes from the east entrance to Zion National Park. We would stay here again if in the area.

"Function Junction"
elau4886, 21 Septembre 2016

Stayed here for four nights on our recent trip and served as a great base to reach attractions. Zion, Bryce and Kanab are within 1 hr of this lodge. Rooms are clean and comfortable and amenities are good. Restaurant is decent but on the pricey side. Discount for gas at the adjoining Chevron is a wonderful perk for guests. Keep in mind that there is not much here except for the lodge, restaurant, 2 gas stations and subway.

"Enjoyed th hot tub & restaurant,e stay which had a swimming pool, golf course &"
Warren W, 21 Septembre 2016

Would hig hly recommend this to anyone based upon my stay, As mentioned above the Zion Best Western has a Golf course, Restaurant, Swimming pool & hot tub, The convience of having all this at one location was really great,

"Beware- it is not near the main attractions at Zion"
segmd, 20 Septembre 2016

This is a very basic hotel - clean, comfortable beds and quiet. The stay was very pleasant and the people at the front desk were wonderful. The HUGE problem with the hotel is that we booked it because it was supposed to be about 10 miles from Zion. What we didn't realize is that the East Gate is about 45 minutes from the main attractions. We had to drive about 1 hour total in both directions to get to the shuttle buses to the highlights of the park. If you book this hotel then be prepared to drive. When going to Zion stay in Springdale.

"Very rustic"
patd640, 20 Septembre 2016

The rooms were very rustic, log looking furniture, it was a fun for a night. The room needed to be cleaned better. The floor was pretty dirty. But it was an alright stay. I don't think I would stay there again unless I had to.

"East Zion Thunderbird Best Western"
Jennifer E, 20 Septembre 2016

This place is fabulous. Gorgeous large rooms, internet that works, super clean, great gift shop and terrific food with nice, competent staff. A real gem! One of the best places we have ever stayed. Highly recommend it

"Absolutely great"
Patricia V, 19 Septembre 2016

We just wanted a place to stay over for the night on our way to Zion. We never expected suh a nice and comfy hotel. The rooms are fine decorated and very complete with a possibillity to sit outside in the garden. The room has a fridge which we really needed because of the high temperature outside. We parked the car in front of the room. Great! The hotel provides a laundry, a giftshop and a restaurant. 10% off at the gasstation and the giftshop.

"Pricey but very nice"
newmarty2014, 17 Septembre 2016

The room was very large and comfortable with an outdoor deck overlooking the golf course-location is good if you want to get into Zion from the east entrance-room had fridge but no microwave. No breakfast included and restaurant is expensive as well- I was told it is under separate ownership even though it is in the same building. Staff was very friendly and helpful with a couple of minor issues.

"unexpected quality"
bruce128, 17 Septembre 2016

We travel a lot and are picky. This hotel was a pleasant surprise and a great value. Everyone had a good attitude despite the crowds. They seemed to care about all the things that matter to a guest. The restaurant was good home cooking if you hate veggies (frozen and mushie).

"Great hotel"
clies, 16 Septembre 2016

In my opinion, a good place to stay if you do Zion park, bryce canyon and cedar brooks, you are 20 to 45 minutes away from those locations. Hotel is great, clean and spacious rooms. Story of the owners is great. There is a golf as well. Restaurant is really great They really really have great meals in their restaurant and I spend a lot of time in a high end restaurant :) Service is professional. You won't make a mistake by spending time there.

"Good stay at a good price"
lschmeck, 16 Septembre 2016

Even though this was a motel it was quiet and the room was very large with a nice balcony and a great view of the golf course. Two queen beds and a separate seating area with large mini fridge made this room feel more like home.

"Quiet, convenient, clean"
Joanne C, 16 Septembre 2016

I was a little nervous when I booked this hotel for our trip to the National Parks but was glad I did. We stayed here for four nights and it was perfect for our trip to both Zion and Bryce Canyon. The hotel isn't far at all from the east entrance to Zion and it took us a little over an hour to get to Bryce Canyon. The room was comfortable and very clean. Laundry facilities were right across the parking lot ( yes, I did laundry on vacation!), and the restaurant was steps away. The thunderbird restaurant was very good and the staff were friendly and very helpful in giving us information on the surrounding towns and the parks. The food is a little pricy but it's good and it beats the Subway across the street. The golf course was right outside our door and the pool area was clean. Only con is that there really is only one restaurant to eat at excluding the Subway. However, Kanabe is a twenty minute drive and offers a variety of restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. We aren't picky people and only really want a clean and quiet place to sleep. This Best Western definitely satisfied our need and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

"Good stay, one minor issue"
Zeeva A, 15 Septembre 2016

The room was comfortable, spacious, and clean. The staff was friendly and check-in/check-out was seamless and easy. We only had one minor issue: I called the front desk to request some shampoo, soap, and toothpaste and the friendly staff member said it would be brought to our room shortly but it never arrived. I understand that this was a small oversight that probably does not usually happened, but I was frustrated that it happened to me. This hotel was the most expensive one that we stayed in during our 11-day trip, but the service and hotel quality was not the best we saw. I guess that's the price to pay for proximity to Zion National Park.

"By Frank Lloyd Wright -- An Attraction in its Own Right"
QuietWalker, 14 Septembre 2016

We've stayed at the Thunderbird several times over the years and I finally asked "who was the architect?" The minute I heard "Frank" I knew the rest -- "Lloyd Wright," one of the most important American architects of the 20th century. As I looked closer at the property (the original section), I realized the horizontal flow coupled with the peaked roofs and, inside, the fact that the rooms had few right angles, all made sense. ... It's not "cheap," but for the remote area it's quite reasonable and extremely clean, a quiet place with a full service restaurant, a pool, a pretty little golf course -- and a Chevron gas station that has competitive prices (in this area just finding a working gas station is sometimes difficult!). There are lesser priced motels in Kanab, but none with this history and amenities!

"Pleasantly Suprised"
BC W, 12 Septembre 2016

Not all that much to look at from the outside but our room was very nice. Quite large with a two room bath including double vanity sinks, a small table with chairs, microwave, refrigerator, king bed, coffee maker & TV - nicely appointed. It was very clean. Check in was quick and easy. Not on par with a Westin or Hilton but a cut above other mid-priced hotels we have stayed in including other Best Westerns.

"Decent motel, terrible service! "
Melville G, 08 Septembre 2016

This is a motel near the Zion national park east entrance. They have good clean and spacious rooms, decorated in a nice woody style. But since they are one of a few places around to stay, the customer service is quite terrible. The lobby hours are limited, and even when open they are highly unreliable. I reached here at 9:30pm after a long and tiring drive and wanted to check in, but there was no one at the front desk. No manager in sight either. I was greeted by a sign saying that the associate was away "assisting other guests". I waited for over half an hour just to check in. Finally, a lady named Summer came in and was utterly unapologetic about the entire situation. I asked if there was no one else who could help me, and she said "oh I left a sign saying I was away". Is a sign supposed to check me in? Another guest who was waiting for the front desk associate to show up had been double charged on her card. She too waited for half an hour, and as long as I was there, it didn't seem like anything was being done to resolve her situation. This is a Best Western property and you would expect a basic level of professionalism and courtesy from them. I've stayed at much smaller, family run motels that have had much better service than here. Do the smart thing and stay in nearby Kanab or in Springdale on the other side of Zion.

"Nice Place - Quiet and convenient"
Robert N, 07 Septembre 2016

Great location between two national parks, pool was very refreshing at the end of the day, room was clean and well maintained w/ patio. Great views of mountains, surrounded by a little par three golf course.

"Did not deliver."
Steven M, 06 Septembre 2016

I had made a reservation several weeks prior to arrival for a king sized bed. Upon arrival I was informed that due to some construction there were no remaining king beds available. They offered to refund a small amount of the cost of the room but that is all they could do. I informed them I should have been informed before arrival so I could have stayed in another town at a hotel with king bed. Due to it being late in the day we decided to stay and not drive further. The room they provided was adequate but the beds were too short. The lady at the desk did all she could but had to live with the manager's guidelines.

"Convenient"
Conni S, 06 Septembre 2016

The location is about half way between Zion National Park & Bryce National Park, so was very convenient. Staff was friendly & helpful. There is a full service restaurant attached which is a bit expensive for what you get, but everyone we met including the owner was very nice.

"Staying at East Zion Thunder Bird Hotel"
Lee W, 04 Septembre 2016

Nice pool, very quiet, good place to stay for convenience to both Zion (20 Miles) and Bryce Parks (near 45). 17 miles to Kanab on scenic drive with numerous restaurants. Nice looking golf course, discount give on gas at station next door.

"Great price, very nice"
davidsX9240DD, 02 Septembre 2016

We were surprised at the large sized room. It was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The food prices in the connected restaurant were high, but this may be the norm for Utah. It was cool and raining, so didn't use the pool, but it looked very inviting. The parking lot was being re-paved, so that tells me they are keeping the place updated.

"That Hidden Spot off the Beaten Path"
Hdanger, 31 Août 2016

This place is a hidden gem. Located on the East entrance of Zion National Park, this place is for the most part away from the huge crowds this park attracts. You get a nice Navajo Sandstone view in a peaceful atmosphere. There is nothing quite like relaxing in the nice heated pool and Jacuzzi after a day of hiking. Then as an added bonus there is a wonderful 9 hole golf course that you can rent clubs and a cart relatively inexpensively. This place has become one of my zen spots and I would recommend it to anyone.

"Great location for Zion! "
Audra W, 31 Août 2016

We made a loop visit of some national parks on our road trip. We stayed here for 2 nights while we went hiking at Zion national park. Nice hotel. We loved our oI'm and the furniture is nice. Clean comfy sheets- which is a big deal for me- I do not like motel 6 style places. The park was about 15-20 minutes away but the nice part was having the restaurant right there especially after a long day of hiking. Very friendly staff! I definitely recommend this place. Plus it's one of the better priced stays in the area for Zion hikers. Loved it

"Too expensive, no complimentary breakfast. Stay in Kanab, UT instead."
Sam S, 28 Août 2016

Strong advice: if coming from southern AZ (Phoenix/Tucson) stay in one of the BW's in Kanab for less than the one in Mt. Carmel. Several good restaurants (e.g., Flying V) in Kanab and a good coffee shop. If coming from Salt Lake area, drive the extra 20 miles from Mt. Carmel on to Kanab. The Mt. Carmel BW is the only one we've ever stayed at that doesn't offer a complimentary breakfast. Can buy (not expensively) breakfast there. The only restaurant in the area that offers dinner as well -- and a bit pricey. The toilet didn't work (sorry cleanup crew) and the shower wouldn't shut off completely (they did take $10 off price for these two shortcomings). In short, either stop in Kanab less than 20 miles away or drive 20 miles more to Kanab. This place, while clean, is absolutely no bargain. No point staying here when Kanab offers more for less (including complimentary breakfasts).

"Very good service from Jimmy at the front desk"
technovelist, 27 Août 2016

It was a bit hard to find the lobby when we arrived (in the evening, as usual); I actually had to go into the convenience store next door to ask where it was. After that it was fine, and the room was very nicely appointed. I did find it odd that breakfast wasn't included in the room rate, as it usually is with Best Western properties. We did get a coupon for 20 cents per gallon off at the gas station next door... As is usually the case, we asked for extra pillows and got them from Jimmy at the front desk, who was very friendly and helpful.

"Great location for Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion"
Peter O, 24 Août 2016

We stayed here in August 2016, spending 3 nights in room 105. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The decor was dated but clean and serviceable. The only negative was the satellite TV went out for the last day and the staff weren't able to get it working......the hotel is far from any town or entertainment so we spent that last night staring at our phones and tablets (the wi-fi was good). The best reason for staying at this hotel for us was the location. We were able to visit the Grand Canyon North Rim, Bryce Canyon, and Zion parks easily using this hotel as our base camp.

"WESTERN CHARACTER"
KLKID, 22 Août 2016

Beautiful rooms and western decor, nice pool between Bryce and Zion. Restaurant needs a boost in offerings and service. Right on a golf course amid the mountains for those who like the game. Lots of international visitors.

"High Desert Oasis"
Daniel K, 21 Août 2016

When you book a hotel on-line, you aren't sure what to expect. We were pleased to see that the Best Western Thunderbird Lodge was consistent with the other BW properties we have stayed at. Clean, well organized, spacious room, along with a cordial and professional staff. For being at a wide spot in the road, I rate it first class.

"Pleasantly Surprised"
Connie R, 20 Août 2016

I was so surprised by this place. It was super clean. Way more modern than I expected. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful. Even though the rooms had outside entrances I felt very safe. A small little golf course right behind the property. Had a gift shop and restaraunt on property.

"Great for Zion and Bryce"
Hidde-Jan, 17 Août 2016

We used this place as our base to explore both Zion and Bryce from. Room is comfortable, we had pool view. Upside: quick to the pool. Downside: you can hear other people in the pool. Staff was friendly, the restaurant serves a decent breakfast (though not included).

"Overpriced smelly old hotel"
TacosNY, 17 Août 2016

The carpeting was old and worn, the toilet had urine on it, the air conditioner was noisy and emitted an unpleasant odor. The bed sheets were stiff and uncomfortable. This room should cost $69/night not $239/night. Avoid at all costs. Go to a hotel in Kanab, Ut instead. It's only 17 miles away and there are many choices of newer hotels.

"Pretty nice."
cpmita, 15 Août 2016

We stayed here for our trip to Zion and Bryce Canyon. We were coming from the west so we drove through Zion to get to the hotel, which is near the East entrance. It was actually a nice ride and gave us the opportunity to get a grasp on the locations of various places within Zion. The rooms were clean, maybe a bit dated but that sort of went with the National Park theme. It is more of a motel than hotel - one level of rooms. The lodge has a nice clean pool and hot tub, large gift shop and fairly decent restaurant, as well as a nice 9-hole golf course. It has a family-run type of feel, as all the staff were extremely friendly and took pride in their jobs and the motel. It has a charming history and the location in relation to Zion is excellent, and Bryce Canyon was a pleasant drive away. I must say that we prefer staying outside of most national parks, as our experience has been that in-park hotels tend to be crowded and noisy. East Zion Thunderbird Lodge was very peaceful and relaxing. The only down side was the lack of other restaurants in the area - it's a pretty rural area, and the motel restaurant was probably the best out of the others in Mount Carmel. A few miles away was Kanab, which had a Pizza Hut, McDonald's and a well-stocked grocery store. If our room had had a kitchenette, I would have cooked a few meals there and rated this place a solid 5.

"Great stay for a visit to Zion and Bryce"
Chris P, 13 Août 2016

My family of four stayed here while on a driving vacation visiting the national parks. I must say I and my family were all very impressed with our stay. The overall theme of the hotel is a bit throwback; which to me was part of the charm. It has been left a bit yesteryear, but still very much updated with all the modern conveniences you need and the maintenance seems to be up to par. They give you coupons to use at the nearby gas station; which was a nice touch and the attached restaurant was good and very convenient. The location is perfect for visiting Zion and Bryce and there are a number of other nice attractions in the area. At the end of the day, the hotel also has a nice little golf course attached if that's your thing (full on grab your 9 iron golf, not mini putt putt golf). Overall, this is a great stay for the money, my family enjoyed it enough that we decided to stay there an extra day. I rarely give 5 stars. Those are reserved for places that surprise and delight me. This placed earned it. Don't hesitate to check it out. You won't be disappointed. Cheers.

"I wish we had stayed in Springdale!"
50StatesQuest, 10 Août 2016

Our largest problem was the area. There were very few amenities. The service in the restaurant on the property was poor. The air conditioner in our room sounded like a 757 during take off and kept us awake. If you have a family and don't want "in the middle of nowhere," stay in Springdale, Utah. That is what we'll do the next time we go to Bryce or Zion.

"Was Lucky to Get Any Room - Very Friendly Check-in Staff"
George D, 09 Août 2016

Sort of pricy for what you get -- but it is high season. I was thankful I could get a room anywhere without having reservations. But I got lucky. My room smelled like dog -- but I like dogs so I'll just go with it. The meal I had at their restaurant was way too salty. But it was late, I was hungry and I just went with it. Sometimes you just gotta go with it. Very convenient situation with motel, restaurant and gas station on property. The clerk at the gas station didn't know how to make change for $1.43 from $1.50. I had to tell her how much change to give me. Lucky for her I'm honest. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to stay here, but it served its purpose and could have been a lot worse.

"Clean and comfortable "
D0ggettE, 08 Août 2016

Mixed feelings. I'm more of a hotel girl and upon arrival it definitely had a motel feel. Our room was clean and comfortable. The pool and hot tub were well maintained. There's a 9 hole golf course too. It's about a 30 minute gorgeous drive to Zion National Park. It's 1.5 hours to the Grand Canyon and about an hour to Bryce. The Thunderbird attached restaurant has good food but pretty slow service. Overall satisfied but not overwhelmed.

"Great Lodging Experience"
Theresa O, 07 Août 2016

We needed lodging, it was late, we were tired. Out in the middle of seemingly "no where." Checked online for something on our travel route and this hotel came up. Instead of booking online, called ahead. On arrival, the desk clerk was friendly (11 pm) and welcoming. No check-in snafus at all. Was shocked at the room - so clean, beautifully decorated in rustic knotty-pine. Well maintained, large and very quiet. What a pleasant experience!

"personal"
Joanne M, 24 Juillet 2016

The rooms were very clean and the beds and pillows were very comfy. The personnel were all friendly from front desk to restaurant to housekeeping. locations was good too as close to Zion and Bryce. we stayed 2 nights and were in a handicapped room. The shower had great ease of in and out and water was very hot. They also had a great pool and hot tub for families.

"Awesome!"
john l, 21 Juillet 2016

Absolutely loved the hotel! Its great because, so many different people from all over the world come to stay there. As you swim or hot tub, you can meet and get to know some awesome people! The rooms were great and the bed was honestly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on in a hotel. Wonderful experience! Only downside is no free breakfast and lack of restaurants. Not a big downer since Zion springdale has some amazing restaurants!

"Great place to stay"
Amanda W, 20 Juillet 2016

We stayed here two nights while visiting Zion National Park. Large room (there were three of us) was immaculately clean and very comfortable - I think bathroom must be new this year (and a shower you can fully stand up in). The balcony overlooking the golf course made a great place to sit early evening. The restaurant was great food well cooked and the micro-brew beers and Utah wines were excellent. We also had breakfast - kept my teenage son very happy. Lovely pool area with towels supplied. Also laundrette - we washed and dried a huge load for $3. WiFi was fast. Final plus point - we bought two vintage number plates in gift shop for $10. What's not to like??

"Great family atmosphere!"
Matthew C, 18 Juillet 2016

Great place for families that is centrally located. Pool is clean and people were nice. Rooms were clean and very warm & inviting. Grounds were kept and staff friendly! The rooms actually have a Keurig coffee maker which was a nice surprise! The view from our room was of the Mountain side which was also a nice surprise!

"Great Breakfast!!"
Kathy K, 18 Juillet 2016

We enjoyed our night at the Thunderbird and all the history of the restaurant and hotel. Loved the decor of the rooms and breakfast was amazing in the restaurant the next morning. After traveling from Bryce Canyon and heading to Zion, it was nice to get up the next morning and be so close to the entrance to Zion National Park.

"OK Hotel"
Frank T, 12 Juillet 2016

The hotel was terribly overpriced. Most of the rooms are old, but refurbished. Breakfast was NOT included. Pool was great, grass area was well managed. Asphalt parking area was poor, with some holes and much loose gravel.

"For the price and the condition of our room poor"
L8210MKnancys, 11 Juillet 2016

The people were good but the room was not worth it. The internet was soooooo slow and I had to work every night we were on our trip (which was 2 weeks). This was the only hotel we had this much trouble with: No hot water. Refrigerator didn't have a freezer and didn't cool enough. Had to take ice packs to the gas station to freeze. Had to put them in a cooler to keep insulin cold on our trip. We had insulin and medications both that had to keep cold. Had to put the insulin in a coffee cup sitting in the cooler with ice around the cup to keep the insulin and meds cold

"Clean, comfortable and spacious"
Jessie S, 09 Juillet 2016

My husband and I were passing through from Zion to Bryce Canyon on a Saturday night and were desperate for a place to lay our head for the night at almost 8p. We got the last room...a king suite for a crazy $200. We were, however, very impressed with the suite! Extremely spacious, clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. Unfortunately, there was no free continental breakfast.

"Best Western, but no free breakfast."
Jane H, 07 Juillet 2016

The Best Western East Zion Thunderbird Lodge was easy to find and centrally located to Utah parks. The rooms were larger than most and you can park right in front of your room. Updated and clean, with in room frig and free Keurig coffee as most BW hotels. No free breakfast at this Best Western as the restaurant is privately owned.

"overnight to Zion"
Corinne D, 02 Juillet 2016

We checked in late since we were coming from Bryce. I had an issue at check-in and the desk clerk was very understanding and helpful. The room was large and comfortable. I was bummed about no breakfast, but we had planned for it and brought stuff to eat. I liked getting the 20 cents-off-each-gallon coupon for the Chevron station next door. Was useful in topping off the fuel tank.

"Great Customer Service"
pollyshyn, 01 Juillet 2016

This hotel was very good, with a great restaurant, but what was really good about it was that when I left behind a prescription of pills, they offered to drive it to me, two hours away! Not many places would do that!

"Pleasantly Surprised "
Ashley F, 29 Juin 2016

From the outside, I thought this place didn't look too nice. I was reluctant when my husband suggested we stay there. I was so surprised when we got into our room. We were on the second floor. Our room was so spacious, had high ceilings, and a great view of the golf course! When we arrived we did find 2 wasps in our room, but we killed them right away. Hey probably flew in when a door was open. We would definitely stay there again!

"Good location, easy to drive to Zion Canyon!"
fuqinyan, 29 Juin 2016

This is a good hotel, clean and neat. It has good customer services and It also has good breakfast. It is easy to drive to Zion Canyon National Park from this hotel. It has the best location and I wish I could stay there longer.

"Good Central Location among National Parks"
JoeGator, 23 Juin 2016

Used this hotel as "home base" as we visited Zion, Bryan Canyon, and Grand Canyon National Parks. Room was very comfortable and incredible decor, had a nice golf course view but not at all impressed with the restaurant...wasn't bad, but not really many choices in town.

"Western Style Motel"
Dianne G, 20 Juin 2016

Nice 9 hole golf course, e.Western Style Motel excellent accommodation, great restaurant, quite, nice decor Price is a little steep, but it is close to a very big tourist area, Springdale , and Zion National Park

"Terrific Place to Stay!"
susanacalia, 18 Juin 2016

Our group was ready to accept a little displeasure at the East Zion Best Western. It was the only place we could find with a vacancy when we were planning our trip to Bryce and Zion. But! We were so pleasantly surprised. We loved this place. The room was pleasant and clean, the beds extremely comfortable, the restaurant fun and the food good. The atmosphere was pleasing overall, once we got beyond the exterior. Do not hesitate. This place is nice, perfect for your trip to Zion and Bryce.

"Surprise in a small town"
BAZ6565, 16 Juin 2016

We stayed at this BW east of Zion National Park after a day I the park. Mt. Carmel Junction is a dot on the map but this hotel was modern, extremely clean with a super friendly and helpful staff. It sits in a peaceful scenic setting on a 9 hole golf course not far from Zion. Their restaurant is the only place in town to eat and the food was very good. I would definitely stay there again.

"Pleasant surprise in a small town"
BAZ6565, 16 Juin 2016

Very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. At the east of Zion National Park , Mt. Carmel Junction is a dot on the map but this hotel was modern, extremely clean with a super friendly and helpful staff. We stayed after a day in the park and never expected such a relaxing evening with this peaceful scenic setting on a 9 hole golf course. Their restaurant is the only place in town to eat and the food was very good. You can also drive back to Springdale through Zion or go to Kanab for more restaurants. I would definitely stay there again. And to top it off, they gave us a coupon for 20 cents off a gallon of gas at the gas station next door.

"Good location for Zion or Bryce"
LLUncoolJ, 14 Juin 2016

Friendly and clean enough. Nice log furniture in the room, LED TV, clean. Back door a little shaky as far as needing to insert a pin to lock it. We were right next to the laundry and ice machine. Seemed like a lot of non guests were doing laundry in there. There is a pool and hot tub, a convenience store in the parking lot, and an attached restaurant. It is next to a golf course. On this trip, we stayed at several locations for one night. This location was peculiar in the sense that it was 106 that afternoon and 46 when we woke up. The only spot I saw the temperature under 68 the whole trip.

"Close to the park"
Dennis G, 14 Juin 2016

It is actually about 20 miles from Zion. But for the cost and the cleanliness and comfort I found this is the best place to stay. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The room was in the newer part of the motel extremely clean the beds were very comfortable. Although the restaurant is not part of the motel they will take care of you. Will diffently stay here again.

"Great location"
Betsy W, 11 Juin 2016

The room was very spacious. Nice decor in the room. Large bathroom area. Enjoyed using the spa. Had a great meal at the restaurant at the hotel. This hotel is right on the turn to the east entrance to Zion Natl Park.

"Best Western - not Best Price"
anthony R, 10 Juin 2016

Stayed in several Best Westerns on this trip. All pre-booked apart from this one. As we had booked other Best Westerns we thought this would be an easy choice and save us a few miles driving further up the road.. This was by far the most expensive with no breakfast included and only very sporadic internet connection

"Great Room"
Beth J, 06 Juin 2016

Nice, clean rooms. Comfortable beds. You really feel like you are pampering yourself after a long day in Zion park. By staying in Mt.Carmel you are able to drive directly into the park as opposed to having to take the shuttle if staying in St. George. Don't waste time with the restaurant. Food is awful and expensive. Drive to the other side of Zion for meals. It was a great stay.

"Outstanding rooms "
mville8, 05 Juin 2016

What a pleasant find sort of in the middle of nowhere! Gorgeous, large rooms with patios overlooking the golf course and a view of the mesas....hated to leave after 2 nights....very convenient to sightseeing in the area....polite, friendly service...a great value and highly recommend.

"Great place to stay"
PICUdoctor, 03 Juin 2016

Fabulous place - very friendly staff, huge clean rooms (two queen beds that will easily sleep 4 adults; great view and lots of space for baggage, large bathroom); very friendly restaurant staff. We had booked for 2 nights on Expedia but wanted to cancel one night - Expedia said it couldn't be done but the check in staff called Expedia and spent 15 minutes during which she was able to cancel one night's charges. A very special thanks to Kymi at the front desk. Would definitely stay there again.

"Zion National Park"
Marcus W, 31 Mai 2016

Was a very nice little area on the east side of the park to stay. Friendly professional staff. Great restaurant for your meals there on location. Ho-made pies were really good. Pool area was nice. Played 9 holes of golf one evening on the course right their on location. It was a fun place to stay. Entering from the East entrance into the park was much more scenic & less traffic. Would definitely stay here again.

"Pleasant find"
robertvB2004NJ, 31 Mai 2016

Had a nice stay at Zion Thunderbird Lodge at Mt. Carmel, Utah. Close to Zion. Restaurant very good as well; great service. Gas and small quick-stop store had everything we needed. Room was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Great staff.

"Great place"
Karen S, 29 Mai 2016

Great location to see the parks. We stayed in the one story part and everything was excellent. Right in middle of the golf course which was nice. Furniture was quite nice for the price. We liked how quiet it was and woke up to the sounds of birds. We had no complaints but a little something for breakfast or even fresh fruit would have been nice. Will definitely stay here again.

"Our Trip to Zion And Bryce"
maryanns826, 27 Mai 2016

This is a nice, clean, friendly, hotel. We enjoyed three meals in the restaurant and were quite pleased with the choice of homey American meals, especially the pie. Our room was large and had a little outdoor seating area overlooking a golf course and the mountains. We drove to Zion NP, about a half hour drive, and to Bryce, a nice drive, though about 1 1/2 hours from here. We will stay here again.

"Comfortable Room Near Zion National Park"
zazuzoe, 24 Mai 2016

Room 112 was spacious and located in a building outside of the check-in building. Room opened up to an enclosed courtyard area that housed the outdoor pool (closed) and hot tub (open). We also had a small patio with 2 chairs for relaxing outside) Breakfast was not included yet the property had a restaurant that opened at 7 a.m. WiFi included, we had a shower only (no tub), furniture in room was wooden and similar to something you would find at an Amish furniture store, small fridge in room and bed was comfortable. One thing to note is that the small town shuts down between 10 and 11 pm and doesn't open up until 7 am the next day. Not a big deal as there isn't much there, but should be noted. Staff was friendly and helpful about getting into the park the next day.

"Close to Zion"
John W, 20 Mai 2016

A nice location for a visit to Zion and also along the highway for easy in and out. The room was large and a great bed for a good night sleep. The restaurant has me buffaloed, why would you serve Instant mashed potatoes at your price point.? Give fair value for what you charge!!! Meals were large but quality left something to be desired.

"Loved this place"
MFNAH, 18 Mai 2016

A gem of a hotel recommended by my big bro. Situated near Zion and near enough to drive to Bryce Rooms nicely furnished and staff very helpful and friendly No breakfast included but you can get breakfast in the thunderbird restaurant there is a fridge in the room and our room had a balcony

"Wrong first impression"
Scott S, 16 Mai 2016

When we pulled up I was a little nervous based on the decor (never been to this area of Utah before). When I walked into the lobby I was surprised to find the modern but local looking theme. I now think the building looks appropriate for the area and fits in quite well. The room was neat and clean, actually pretty spacious. Again unusual theme, but fitting for the surrounding area. Beds were very comfortable, parking was excellent, shower and bathroom area were spotless.

"Surprising Elegence"
Jeannine B, 14 Mai 2016

When we arrived at the hotel we were a little concerned. It looked a bit older on the outside. The grounds were clean and it was next to a small golf course which we though odd but pretty. When we walked in the room and saw it was spacious and nicely decorated, it was a nice surprise. Obviously it had been remodeled though the carpets looked a little worn but were extremely clean. We had a nice view of the pool and lawn area between the buildings which was very pretty with the mountains surrounding. The restaurant was a nice surprise. With their Ho-Made pies. A nice story behind that name. We had dinner and breakfast there and the food was good the atmosphere fun and entertaining. If you stay you have to try their apple pie. Excellent. All in all it was a nice surprise for an older hotel. Really glad we stayed there.

"Great staff!"
243marlyng, 13 Mai 2016

The staff, especially Kymi, were great! The location to Zion NP was perfect! Older hotel but clean and rooms were spacious. Would definitely recommend and would stay again if ever back in the area! the restaurant had a nice feel and the history behind it and the hotel was interesting. The food was a little overpriced I thought, but was good.

"Ho Made in Mt Carmel"
Mitzi K, 12 Mai 2016

This is a gem that blends old school with modern amenities. I was in an end unit 2nd floor..no elevator. Room was huge and the bed was heavenly with lots of pillows. In room coffee was Keurig. Some noise from neighbors but otherwise great alternative if you can't stay in Zion National Lodge. Restaurant on site is amaxing. Front desk staff very nice and accomodating. Internet works well.

"Loved It (2nd Time)"
Kathy B, 11 Mai 2016

Four years ago, we had no hot water during our stay. That has been corrected! We had a large room with 2 queen beds. Furniture is rustic but really nice. We had a nice-sized flat screen tv and small fridge. We asked for, and were provided, with a microwave. Bathroom has been updated. Great place to stay for Bryce or Zion Parks. Highly recommend (now that there is hot water)! The restaurant was good too.

"Clean Rooms"
SRILAL D, 09 Mai 2016

The rooms were extremely clean and spacious. Same with the bathrooms. However the property itself was not appealing from outside. No elevator to get to the 2nd floor. Did not use the restaurant, as breakfast was not included. The front office staff was very courteous and friendly.

"OK for a night"
joyxy333, 28 Avril 2016

Room is clean and very large. Equipped with mini refrigerator, but no microwave. Breakfast is not included and the restaurant in main lobby is NOT recommended as it is VERY expensive, and food is about average (fried chicken is fine, but the pasta is below average). The location is close to Zion East Entrance, around 10min drive to the entrance (and there will be about another 20min drive from east entrance to Zion visitor centre).

"Very good value"
Spencer H, 26 Avril 2016

Very good value especially in comparison with other options in the area. Rooms are in very good shape. Incrementally they have been making improvement incrementally over time. It's nice to have the pool and hot tub back in order.

"Comfortable stay"
10Walker48, 25 Avril 2016

Had nice room overlooking golf course; was nice to see the green grass. Used clean laundromat. Great location to visit Zion. Clean, comfortable, rustic furniture. Didn't eat at restaurant. Slow check in.

"Ok for one night"
Laura M, 23 Avril 2016

Only one person for entire hotel running desk & maintenance problems! Pool closed for season & Jacuzzi jets not working. Check in & out took forever waiting for the one person. TV didnt work, room smelled. Ok for one night. Not good value for money $116

"Great Hotel"
Steve H, 16 Avril 2016

BW Thunderbird lodge was very clean and affordable. Highly recommend it. We will definitely stay there again. Great location for Zion National Park, only 15 minutes away. Resturant was a little pricey, but food was good. Laundromat area was clean!

"Coming back again!"
Vernon & Marlee... B, 14 Avril 2016

Rooms very nice as was the restaurant food and service. Golf course affordable and fun. The restaurant is unique in decorations depicting the area and the food is presented nicely. Rooms are well appointed and the area is clean. 9 hole golf course is fun to golf and every level of players can enjoy their game. Carts are kept up and available.

"Awesome place to stay"
CaroleeBlake, 12 Avril 2016

This setting of this hotel is beautiful. The hotel had scheduled our stay for a different night. At first there was some discussion, but when we produced the confirmation email stating the correct date, the date we were there, they did all they could do to accomadate us, and gave us a hefty discount to boot. They rooms were VERY spacious. The hot tub was wonderful. The decor was nice.

"Spring break "
Troy G, 07 Avril 2016

This place was great! We were really impressed by the service and friendly people. Kyme at the front desk was very helpful. I would definitely stay here again :) It's close to Zions,Bryce Canyon, Capital Reef. Not far from Kanab.

"Going Overboard"
Jennifer G, 04 Avril 2016

Wasn't sure what to expect pulling up but what a difference it makes to have excellent service. The front desk Manager, Amanda went over and above to accomodate us. She needs a raise because they should not lose her. Our room was better than some Hilton hotels we've stayed in. They had 2 luggage racks in the room, Very clean and roomy King Bed room with a patio and view of the golf course. Some rooms even have the view of the hills. The remote control was freshly cleaned and in a wrapper letting you know. The shower was wonderful, lots of hot water, clean, clean, clean. Big Screen Tv. We were informed that the restaurant connected to the Hotel is not owned by Best Western so they gave us 20 cents off per gallon of gas at the Chevron station next door and 10% off at the gift shop which would take you an hour to go through. It's loaded with cute things. Well worth the money and if you want to golf it's right there with electric golf carts, outdoor patio with umbrella tables and a big bar be que. Pool was not open but hot tub was. We didn't use.

"great stop"
Todd E, 02 Avril 2016

great stop on our spring break vacation to Zion, very friendly staff, great location to Zion National Park. Very quiet location. The food and service was wonderful at the restaurant. Will definately stop here again.

"CUTE PLACE, GOOD LOCATION, GREAT STAFF, CLEAN ROOM, STAY AWAY FROM THE RESTAURANT!!"
VinnyS67, 27 Mars 2016

I live right outside of NYC, so this review is not coming from some snooty guy who expects City style luxury, in fact, when I go away to national parks, which I do often, I expect what I would find in these places, as long as it's clean and the food is decent (again, decent, I'm not expecting gourmet fair)....Then I'm happy, the lobby is real cute, a very honestly friendly staff...(these are real genuine people) the room , although a bit dated, was very comfortable, warm, nice shower, good WiFi....happy there, BUT...when we arrived, we were starved...we went to their own restaurant, The Thunderbird Cafe..........Oh Dear God, We dubbed it the "Thunderturd cafe" The food was basically swimming in grease, the veggies, ..cooked to the point that you could see light through them.........although, once again, our waiter, was a real person, friendly, attentive, couldn't have been nicer, couldn't be mad at him, he only serves the food, he doesn't cook it.......stay at the Hotel...find some place else to eat.....We went to Hustons the 2nd morning....only 15 minutes down the road, and THAT was an AWESOME breakfast....

"By far the best value on our trip."
L6320CKanns, 27 Mars 2016

Great room, coupons in room coffee and hot tub! Loved it! Stayed in numerous hotels this trip this was by far the best hotel and best value. On site restaurant was great, coupons for gas and the gift shop. Great staff.

"Great stop over in a great location"
Richard S, 23 Mars 2016

We booked this ahead of time and found that for this time of year, was a great value. The place is laid back, a bit funky, yet unpretentious. Loved the hot tub, and the grounds include a 9 hole golf course. We even did a load of laundry during our overnight. Be sure to eat in the coffee shop, the staff is very nice.

"Must-Stay!"
Elizabeth G, 22 Mars 2016

We visited Zion National Park recently and stayed at the Thunderbird Lodge. At first glance, I was worried, however the rooms are clean and comfortable. The check-in was a little rough, as staff was not there and took about 10 minutes to get someone at the front desk. However, the rooms are great value and if you're like me and hate camping, staying here will provide you with a good location for quality sleep and adventure while in Zion.

"Unexpected jewel"
997viviany, 22 Mars 2016

Located literally in the middle of nowhere, it is actually perfect to access both Zion and Bryce national parks. Rooms are very nicely decorated, staff was caring and helpful, restaurant not bad at all neither. Other than the hotel and restaurant, the location offers a 9 hole golf course, a subway (sandwich) outlet, a gas station, two gift shops and an independent restaurant.

"Basic with a nice view"
paul m, 21 Mars 2016

Large comfy room with nice pine furniture. No indoor corridors. Lots of loose sand, stone and dirt in parking area that gets tracked into room. No breakfast included. Front desk lent me great book about Zion Park that I studied and was very helpful for our next-day hiking.

"Perfect location, clean and spacious rooms"
Bojan T, 20 Mars 2016

This hotel is located very close to the Zion National park entrance and only 45 minutes drive to Bryce Canyon which makes its location just perfect. Rooms are spacious and clean, bathroom updated. Staff is very friendly (although we had some issues with room charges due to lack of communication between hotel staff). Recommended for short stays.

"Spacious room with view of the golf course"
camtraveling, 20 Mars 2016

We had room 142 and it was quite spacious. The room was clean. It had a huge king bed and lodge pole furniture and nice art. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom a nice size. The nice part about the rooms in this section of the motel (rooms 120-142) was the small private patio with chairs to rest and relax outside after a day of hiking in Zion. It is only 13 miles from the east entrance of Zion National Park and 1 hour from Bryce Canyon. It has a restaurant (we didn't eat there) and a large gift shop. The check in clerk was very helpful and nice. We would definitely stay here again!

"exceptional"
William M, 20 Mars 2016

Very nice and comfortable. Sit on the semi private porch. watch the sunrise or golfers. Unique construction and very comfortable floor plan. The staff we met were considerate and kind. very quiet and out of the masses. Enjoyed the stay.

"Missing tile"
Kris W, 16 Mars 2016

The bathroom was very nice, it had a new tub and shower head, however the floor tile had not been finished and there was a 4 inch gap between the tile and the bathtub. The tile was also missing some grout.

"Place has seen better days."
msk60750, 10 Mars 2016

There were some problems with this hotel, but staff were super friendly and fun. There is a restaurant on the property and the food and staff were great. Shout out to Carmen the waitress who let us stay there for over an hour just talking after dinner. She was super helpful with road and local place info as were all the staff. Hotel room itself needed some up-grades, particulalry the shower area. Clean and very comfortable beds. Several amenities missing in the room, like soap, cups, etc. But readily available it you ask. Highlight of this place is the staff.

"Excellent Location, between Bryce and Zion"
884gregn, 23 Février 2016

This place offers very decent mid-range lodging in one of the most scenic areas on the North American continent. You're about 12 miles from the eastern entrance into Zion (and about a 45 minute drive to the canyon), and a little over an hour's drive to Bryce Canyon. When I stayed there (in mid-Februrary), the premises were undergoing some renovation, so I did not necessarily see the place at its very best. But the rooms were large, comfortable, and decently furnished, with refrigerator, coffee maker, and porches. Staff was friendly and helpful. Gift shop, even winter, open until 9 PM. Receive 25 cents a gallon coupon for adjoining gas station.

"Good location"
Shanmuga Sundar V, 16 Février 2016

It is the location of this hotel that makes it great to stay - close to Bryce and Zion canyons. The restaurant also is great with friendly staff. There was some construction going around during February, which we found to be not comfortable at all. However, since we had only a night's stay and considering that the construction issue is temporary, I would surely recommend this hotel.

"Awesome staff"
898jayw, 07 Février 2016

Awesome staff in a very small village, with a pretty decent building that's been around for quite awhile, but they are doing a pretty good job of keeping it in good state of repair. Could see daylight around the door, so needs weatherstripping or a new door. Did I mention "Really Nice People"?

"Ok for one night"
koshkimyshki, 01 Février 2016

We stayed here because it is well located, just on the road. We were driving from Arches to Zion (May 2013). Rooms are big, but hotel needs renovations. Plus was having big hot breakfast, jump to the car and drive!

"UTAH"
colettec666, 09 Janvier 2016

I was very impressed with my room. Zion is a very beautiful area,; I will be back in the fall to experience the canyons. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed for remodeling. We went across the street to eat. I would call this a one-horse town, though. Overall we enjoyed our stay and had very good experience.

"Zion National Park"
Skipper3436, 07 Janvier 2016

Following the lead of many National Parks, there is buss service and adequate parking at the buss station. The buss will drop you off at the best trailheads which range from a short walk to several miles. Zion is spectacular and we barely scratched the surface in three day of site seeing. A day pack, plenty of water and a good quality camera are a must. If you are planning your trip in the warmer months, you will need to get your hiking in during the early morning hours as the park heats up by noon making hiking uncomfortable. The early morning light is fabulous for taking pictures and catching a glimpse of wildlife. The little town outside the park has everything but a drug store so make sure you have what you need before you go, its a long drive out of the park to anything major. The town has several restaurants that should meet most peoples tastes. This is a fabulous park, if I were to do it again, I would do a horse back trip into the Canyons and spend a couple of nights on the trail.

"Nice place"
Paul B, 06 Janvier 2016

Service was good, Internet was spotty, great location for visiting Bryce and coming into Zion from the East. Do not offer the free breakfast as most other Best Western's. Food in the restaurant was just ok. No Microwave in the rooms

"Truly outstanding"
Dan A, 28 Décembre 2015

This hotel is in a great location right at the junction coming out of Zion national Park. The decor is first class all the way and the on-site restaurant serves great food. Breakfast is not included, so instead they offer a $.25 per gallon discount at the gas station next door. The Internet was great but did sometimes have slowdowns, thus the four-star instead of a five star rating. We will definitely stay here again.

"Nice help on the holidays"
barscoinc, 26 Décembre 2015

We needed a place near Zion Park to spend Christmas Eve. The staff at the front desk was very helpful, made sure we had exactly the kind of room we needed before she went off duty -- also the pie at the restaurant was excellent and restaurant mgr was friendly and conversational. Great wifi, beds, big room, would have stayed longer if we had had time.

"Great location. Great value. Great room."
the_muser, 30 Novembre 2015

Clean comfortable value. The rooms are large enough for all your bikes, camping gear etc. In between Zion, Bryce and the North Rim. The rooms are clean and well appointed. A great value. No complaints at all. Restaurant onsite was a diner style and had decent food and great service.

"Best Western East Zion"
Cterry66, 30 Novembre 2015

We stayed 11/29/15. Had the place almost to ourselves. Very nice rustic motel. Room was different but nice SW decor. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was good and reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here again.

"Hidden gem"
Jessica F, 09 Novembre 2015

This hotel exceeded all expectations. List of the positives: the kind staff, the keurig in room, a nice size room refrigerator, free wifi, plenty of parking, coupons for the gas station next door, clean rooms, and comfortable beds. I loved this hotel after a day of hiking at Zion.

"Centrally located for Zion, Bryce Canyon and North Rim of Grand Canyon"
Gerald B, 02 Novembre 2015

This place is at a junction of three highways directly headed to all three of the above named national parks. Its a great way of getting to the north rim of Grand Canyon. Its a two lane highway, but almost no traffic. The motel is comfortable and clean and the decor is western logs. The resturant is reasonable and decent food (about the only place around to eat). There is also a 9 hole golf course as part of the motel.

"Nice location"
M T, 01 Novembre 2015

This is a nice hotel is located just a few miles from Zion. We were driving through Utah visiting all the national parks. Very easy stops. Sadly, the lobby restaurant's heat was out for morning breakfast which chilled an otherwise a good experience.

"For the price and location in middle of 3 parks ...perfect"
Emstrekker1, 31 Octobre 2015

Clean, nicer than expected. Enjoyable stay. Near Bryce, Zion, and Coral pink sands parks. Restaurant pricey, but every restaurant was $$$ in region. Hotel staff, polite, accommodating and very friendly.

"Best location between Bryce and Zion Parks"
jer0493, 31 Octobre 2015

All of the staff were very friendly. Jay, in particular, helped us with route planning to our next destination and helped us to understand liquor laws and practices in Utah. We encountered an unusual way of billing tips on our first dinner there. Restaurant staff obviously discussed it later. The next evening another wait person apologized for their error when he seated us. Rooms were large and perfectly clean. This is a very small town. The attached restaurant is the only good choice unless you wish to drive 10-15 miles. In summary we were pleased with our stay.

"Close to Zion National Park"
Gerlinde K, 31 Octobre 2015

We wanted to stay close to the park, and found out that rates for hotel vary widely. By staying a few miles away we saved more than $130 for the lodging. This place is clean, nicely furnished with solid wood furniture, and the rooms have a back door opening to the green space with a pool and hot tub. Unfortunately, breakfast was not included due to the attached restaurant belonging to a different entity.

"Love the room"
Kathy K, 31 Octobre 2015

Great experience. Hotel clerk and waiter were friendly, upbeat and helpful. The outside of the hotel is modest in appearance so we were really surprised when we saw how great the room was. It was much larger than most rooms, great view, and the furnishings were beautifully made using rugged pieces of wood.

"Best Western at Mt.Carmel junction near Zion needs work"
John B, 29 Octobre 2015

My room smelled of old stale cigarette smoke, although it was a non-smoking room, and I could hear the people next door indicating poor sound barriers. Service in the restaurant was slow due to under-staffing. I waited 20 minutes for my order to be taken, and eventually got up to find someone.

"My Stay"
Jay H, 29 Octobre 2015

We went up on a golf outing. this was a very pleasant experience with a lot of our summer and winter friends. There is lot to do there such as golf, trail riding, off roading and all things fun. There is also an animal sanctuary close by. Really nice.

"Pleasant surprise after seeing the pictures on the internet"
YVR111, 28 Octobre 2015

Was not sure of this place as it looks a bit weird on the internet. Got a nice room on the golf course. Nice pool. Check in check out was good. Quite expensive but it seems what one has to pay when you are close to any National parks. The only problem is the restaurant. The service is bad beyond belief, the food is average at best for a price less than average. The person at the reception desk should definitively be fired or fine another job. Best Western regional manager should go there and have a look to see how bad it is. I know it is not the same owner than the owner of the hotel but they are related and it definitively reflects on the hotel. Unfortunately there is not much around there. No competition equal lousy service I guess. Get a sandwich and eat in your room !!!

"Great location"
John M, 28 Octobre 2015

I booked this hotel for my wife and I for its location between Zion and Bryce canyons. It proved to be a good choice. We had a room that was like a small single storey chalet in a terrace where we could park outside the front door. It was clean and everything you expect from a Best Western. The reception staff were super friendly and made check in and out really easy. On site restaurant was also good providing good home style food.

"Great Roomfor a Great Price"
Shane N, 25 Octobre 2015

As we drove up, we were not too sure of this place, since it looked like an old renovated second rate Motel. We were pleasantly surprised upon further examination of the room. Extremely convenient for visiting Zion National Park. Room was in great condition and very comfortable. The attached restaurant was a Huge disappointment. Waited 25-mins for service and finally just left. Only two other choices in the area!

"Expensive for Seniors"
Patricia Gurley S, 23 Octobre 2015

Clean, comfortable room. No complimentary breakfast, fairly expensive restaurant adjoining motel lobby. Only option to stay when leaving Zion Natl. Park. I wouldn't recommend this motel to any of our friends, all of which are seniors and on fixed income.

"Great Place to Stay When for Both Zion and Bryce NP"
Edwin M, 20 Octobre 2015

Stayed 3 nights and was thoroughly pleased. The room was clean with plenty of room. The hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. On our 8 day trip in northern Arizona and southern Utah this was the best hotel we stayed at. About a 20 minute ride to Zion NP and 65 mile drive to Bryce NP. Good place to stay when visiting both parks.

"Not a bad hotel"
Tezza06, 19 Octobre 2015

Nice spacious room with balcony and pool view, comfy beds and good wifi. Right next to golf course but not a lot else around. Ate dinner and breakfast at the onsite restaurant which was our most unpleasant dining experience of the whole holiday. Had to wait ages to be seated with staff wandering around not even acknowledging you're there. No smiles or greeting from them just a grunted 'follow me' when they eventually take you to your table. The waiter we had for dinner was great, happy and smiley and doing a great job with his tables. The food did take quite a while to come out though and even longer at breakfast,if we'd been in a rush to get on the road I would not have been happy. If I'd known service was going to be that bad if have gone to subway instead as its the only other option.

"Nice Restaurant "
William M, 18 Octobre 2015

Almost passed this restaurant by. Am glad we turned around. Varied menu. Wife had pasta and I had the roast beef. Both generous helpings and tasty. Added the salad bar for a small additional charge. They have an adequate beer and wine list. Asked Carter, our excellent waiter, for a suggestion which worked out very well. Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you're in the Zion or Bryce National Parks area.

"Great place to stay to see both NP"
Cherylp24, 18 Octobre 2015

This hotel is very convenient to both Zion, Bryce Canyon NP, and Kanab, Utah. It is quiet, clean, comfortable, great internet access, and has a nice little restaurant on property. (Good home cooking, bread, and pies). We drove into Zion in 30 minutes and HWY 9 is a very scenic drive. Great way to enter the park because you avoid the busy entrance at Springdale. The drive to Bryce Canyon was about an 1 1/2 hrs and Kanab was about 30 minutes. There is a pool and a golf course on the property too.

"A nice to stay on the east side of Zion"
Diane N, 17 Octobre 2015

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Zion. The room was clean and quiet. The staff was helpful and except the 1st person I dealt with they were friendly. The person checking me in was a little grumpy and not especially friendly. This BW does not offer breakfast even though they have a room for it. It is the only BW I've stayed at that doesn't offer breakfast. When I asked about it they told me there is a restaurant right next door. The food there wasok but that does add another $25 onto our stay that I wasn't counting on.

"would reccommend"
538rosep, 16 Octobre 2015

great location excellent place to stay. Everyone was very helpful and nice. The only thing was i thought the restaurant was expensive. Gift shop, golf course, gas station, etc everything in one location.very close to Zion and Bryce Canyon

"Niche in the Mountains"
Thomas B, 14 Octobre 2015

Room was a good surprise, view of golf course and mountains, very clean and country fresh appearance, comfortable bed nice furniture. Restaurant food was okay, wait help in need of attention to detail. The only problem was employees yelling across the parking lot in the early morning in communicating with each other.

"Gret stay under the stars"
nancyrabbit, 14 Octobre 2015

Wish we weren't rushed and could have stayed longer! The room was cozy with a lovely rolling lawn to walk down to the pool and jaccuzi. The beds were comfy and the room was clean. Can't wait to come back. A perfect stop before entering Zion!

"Quite and relaxing spot"
BluesmanCraig, 14 Octobre 2015

Located about 13 miles outside Zion national park, it is an easy drive to the east entrance. The motel is in a quite area next to a golf course. The restaurant is off the motel lobby, but is not affiliated with the motel, which is a little odd. There is also no free breakfast service as is usually offered at Best Westerns, but breakfast at the restaurant was good. The beds were the most comfortable I've ever encountered in a motel. I wish I had one like that at home.

"A good motel close to Zion"
WestTexastraveller17, 13 Octobre 2015

This is a nice Best Western a few miles from the east entrance of Zion National Park. Our room was clean and large and well furnished, Everything worked, and the staff people were competetent. We would stay there again. People should be aware that the drive to Zion, though short, will take a while because of the road.

"Quiet scenic accomodation"
jeffger831, 12 Octobre 2015

This is a hotel on the east end of Zion National Park, away from the hustle and bustle of Springdale and Hurricane. The hotel does not look like much from the road, but was pleasantly quiet in a scenic location along a golf course. The rooms were dated, but comfortable and above all, clean. The internet worked good and TV was modern with good channel selection. Thunderbird restaurant was right next door and was good for breakfast.

"hotel visit"
886sj, 09 Octobre 2015

this hotel to be highly recommended friendly staff nothing too much trouble a pleasant location handy for visits to Bryce and zion national parks restaurant serves a variety of meals and are reasonably priced

"Perfect between Zion and Bryce"
dkcaxx, 08 Octobre 2015

Service was wonderful. Room was new from paint to furniture to bathroom fixtures. Very clean. Had a refrigerator and coffee maker and comfortable beds. Room overlooking golf course. Each room had a parking space in front. Spent day at Zion on way to hotel from Vegas, spent night at Thunderbird with excellent dinner and breakfast, (portions huge), spent day at Bryce, returned to hotel for another great dinner and breakfast. Drove through Zion again on the way back to Vegas. Gas station, food mart, and gift shop on property. Would highly recommend to anyone going to both parks as the perfect in between stop.

"Don't look anywhere else"
sandybV3932GH, 06 Octobre 2015

This is a very good hotel. Quiet and clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Great service. Central location to Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks. Convenience store, gas station, gift shop, golf course and restaurant on premises. There is nothing we didn't like about our 2 night stay.

"Mt. Carmel Junction"
Dick B, 06 Octobre 2015

This is virtually the only hotel east of the Zion National Park that is within a comfortable driving distance. Fortunately, it is a very pleasant place to stay. Their restaurant is famous for its pies.

"Nicely Updated"
BATMCD, 04 Octobre 2015

We enjoyed everything about our stay except for the restaurant attached to the hotel. Our room was spacious, the wi-if worked well, and the location was good. The restaurant was horrible the Friday night we tried to eat dinner there. It took 25 minutes after our server took our order to get our drinks so we decided to forego dinner and order pie. took even longer to get 2 slices, which were mediccee, at best.

"Zion trip"
John J P, 04 Octobre 2015

We liked the location of the hotel and the rooms were great. The pool and hot tub facility was good. The restaurant food was disappointing. The golf course was very inexpensive and you get what you pay for. It was a disappointment that the east entrance to Zion was closed so we had a 2 hr detour around to the park.
