The Best hotel ever it's definitely the best 4 star should 5 stars I really love the hotel I don't stay nowhere esle period U can relax enjoy yourself and have plus it's right downtown The staff could be more excited but it is what it is

All I can say is Ashley, Ashley, Ashley!!!! So I booked through a third party with my job and when I arrived, Ashley informed me that I was at the wrong Royal Sonesta. No worries though, I was able to rebook and Ashley eased my frustrations and on no time.. literally within 6 minutes, I was able to get a reservation with a beautiful water-front view! Thank you Ashley for your patience, professionalism, and genuine acts of kindness. Bonus her, promote her please!

I was delayed by a cancelled/rebooked flight and didn't arrive at the hotel until the morning after I was supposed to check in for a two-night stay. However, since I was late they cancelled my room (without attempting to contact me) and re-booked it to someone else, and refused to refund me (I had pre-paid for the room). They said it was my fault for not contacting them while I was at the airport, nevermind I was worried about rebooking my flight and the last thing on my mind was worrying about a room I had already paid for. So they get to keep my money and then re-book the room with someone else and make double the money for the room.

The best thing about this place is the location, right in the heart of town. Its also near a metro station ('Roosevelt') so it can easily be reached from the airport with no need for a taxi, and is an excellent base from which to explore the city. There is a good bakery / cafe right next door, plus other eateries and grocery stores within an easy walk. Staff were jovial, and my deposit, taken on arrival, was quickly returned to my account once I'd checked out. The room was large, and big windows offered fine views over to the park. The room was quiet despite the location, and the bed was comfy. WiFi was faultless. Free breakfast was rudimentary but OK to fill you up until lunch. They also held my luggage once I checked out so I was unencumbered until my flight left in the evening. My only complaint as the the water for the shower was never properly hot. This hotel offers good value for money compared with nearby options, and is a perfectly good place to stay if you need to be in the centre of things.

The staff was kind and my room was clean. My stay was quiet unlike other reviews I've read. But the elevator and hallways were creepy! And my bathroom was falling apart. Bed was rock hard but still slept well.

This hotel is located a 5 minute walk from the Roosevelt subway station and has a bus stop on Michigan even closer than that so it is very convenient. You can also walk to the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum and even downtown. The hotel itself is clean and well-maintained. The staff were friendly, especially Denim who went out of her way to make our visit nice. The breakfast was ok but nothing hot. There was coffee in the lobby most of the day but not usually late at night. I would highly recommend this hotel for visitors on a budget.

The property is fine. But the company ignores your choices on opt-in things, such as email. As a result, you get spammed. A lot. And they probably sell your private data as well. I mean - if they won't follow the rules in one place, you can't trust them anywhere!

Great Location to get to Chicago attractions (e.g. Natural History Museum, Aquarium, Planetarium, Navy Pier, etc.). If you don't have a car? Very close to Chicago Transit Authority buses and elevated trains. Moderate price

Nice hotel with friendly stuff. The parking is convenient. Nice breakfast place (Yolk) right around the corner. The room was spacious and clean. The elevator is a bit small and gets crowded fairly quick.

The shower curtain was busted and toilet wouldn't flush. The refrigerator never got cold which was unfortunate because we had drinks we wanted to get cold and it was 100° outside . The door wouldn't close unless forced. We heard people slamming doors all night so I assume this is a problem with a lot of the doors.

Hotel has a great location across from Grant Park. This was a girlfriends trip and our room was nice, only thing we missed was enough outlets or usb ports for charging our devices. I had read about the lack & took a charging block I use at home, but, there were no wall outlets in bedroom it could plug in to. We had an early train in from Pittsburgh, 8:45 am, so we needed to store our luggage in storage until our room was ready at 3 PM & were told there would be no chance of earlier entry. Breakfast the next day looked to be lacking except for fresh apples, oranges, bananas, and coffees, protein bars, etc. We opted to walk to Yolk which is very close and we had a wonderful breakfast there, I highly recommend it. We also stored our luggage after checkout because our train was not scheduled to leave until 6:45 pm and we wanted to go back to Navy Pier to explore it better. Staff was great and room was clean and you only needed to place a call for anything you needed in room & they responded promptly.

Exposed outlets,loud, hard beds, no breakfast, tripping slopes in our room, it's loud, ceiling cracking with chips falling off, bathroom door wouldn't close...these are just the highlights. We ran from this place. Have stayed at 14 hotels this summer, this was the worst. I understand it's old but the safety issues are not acceptable.

Poor service from breakfast, internet, elevator and housekeeping not respecting privacy. Considering the price and how expensive the parking, the place is not a worth of stay. Housekeeping still entering the room despite the privacy sign. Make sure to check all your belongings before checking out, we lost an apple watch and last location shows in the hotel but until now unresolved.

The closest you can get within walking distance to Soldier Field.. would be longer to Uber there! A great value and experience. Walk to Sweet Bean for coffee/Asian pastries or Trader Joe's for some hydrating juices.

The front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast wasn't hot food but well stocked. This hotel is reasonably priced and a great location — right across from Grant Park and near museums. We walked easily to Soldier Field for a soccer match. Will stay here again!

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Grant Park Hotel BW during my trip to Chicago. To say that I am disappointed would be an understatement. Not only did the hotel fail to respond to my concerns promptly, but they also refused to refund the incidentals amount, leaving me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. Upon checking in, I was informed that an incidental hold would be placed on my credit card to cover any additional charges during my stay. Although this is a common practice in the hospitality industry, I was assured that the hold would be released upon checkout if no additional charges were incurred. However, that was not the case. Upon checking out, I was shocked to discover that the hotel had charged the incidentals amount to my credit card, even though I hadn't incurred any additional charges. I immediately contacted the hotel to inquire about the charges and request a refund, but my attempts to reach them were met with silence. I left numerous voicemails and sent several emails, but there was no response whatsoever. The lack of response from the hotel is unacceptable and reflects poorly on their customer service. As a guest, I believe I deserve the courtesy of a timely and respectful response to my concerns. Ignoring my attempts to communicate only exacerbated the frustration and disappointment I felt. Moreover, the hotel's refusal to refund the incidentals amount is nothing short of unjust. Since I had not incurred any extra charges, there was no valid reason for them to withhold the funds. This lack of transparency and failure to adhere to their own policies demonstrates a disregard for customer satisfaction. I strongly advise potential guests to reconsider staying at GRANT PARK HOTEL, It is clear that this hotel prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction, and that is not a quality I expect or appreciate in the hospitality industry.

I wouldn't recommend this property. The hotel is old and I dire need of a remodel. The first thing we noticed about our room is that the door latch had been removed so the door couldn't be fully secured without the security latch. When I looked down the hall, it seems most had been removed. The room was not very clean. The bed did not seem freshly changed but I can't put my finger on why I felt that way. There was hair on the floor of the bathroom. When I went to take a shower, the only towels in the whole room were 3 bath towels. No washcloths or hand towels. The furniture in the room needs a good cleaning. The nooks and crannies are disgusting. Also on the day we were there, somehow one of the front windows was broken and all they would tell us was, "freak accident." I wouldn't stay here again. The rooms are way overpriced for what they are offering. Scratch Best Western of my trusted hotel list.

Great location for attending a concert at Huntington Park Pavillion. Rooms not large, but clean and comfortable for a short stay. Paris Baguette was connected to the lobby, which provided a great option for coffee, breakfast, and lunch.

A good location, but it's an older building with no protection from street noise. I also left behind a pair of grey dress pants after checkout, and despite days of calling and emailing I could not get clear confirmation of the searches of the room for them. I think the pants are still in the room.

This hotel is sorely in need of a renovation! The location is great as it's walking distance to the lake, but the accommodations leave a lot to be desired. The furniture is nicked and some of the drawers don't close. There's no fan in the bathroom so the mirrors fog up whenever you shower. The rooms are cleaned only every other day, unless you make a special request the day before. We paid just as much for another hotel last year in a different part of Chicago and the accommodations were much better! The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location and the friendly and helpful staff.

The staff at this location was very kind and recommended some awesome places to visit while we stayed in Chicago. I would definitely come here again! It was our first time in the city and our family absolutely loved the experience, thank you so very much!

Best place to stay when going to visit the museums down in Chicago! Visited the Field museum and Shedd Aquarium. Staff were amazingly friendly, made our trip awesome! Would certainly stay there again.

This hotel seriously needs to learn what preventive maintenance is. My shower didn't work; shower handle was disconnected from shaft The bathtub drain didn't work, because the drain wouldn't stay open for more than a few seconds. I had to keep pushing the drain opener down because it wouldn't stay down The room heater doesn't warm up enough The soda machine gave rather warm water bottles Maybe I can use them to warm up my room

This hotel is walking distance from The Art Institute and Millenium Park AND Field and the Shedd Aquarium. We walked to a great breakfast place and a great pizza place. We were right on Michigan so it wasn't hard to get to the water. The rooms are a little small. We were in two rooms and the bathroom in the King was NOT for two. The rooms smelled and looked clean. The shower curtain did not close properly so we used our towels cleaning up the floor. I hope they get the second elevator fixed soon...that is a pain. There was a little street noise, but we stayed at the Blake the last time we were in Chicago and you could hear the streets, too. The valet service is over $50 per night which we were willing to pay because it has in and out which we were not sure if we would need. Sadly the valet, Edwin, was very unfriendly and even rude. He almost ruined our stay, but hopefully you will not have to deal with him.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in for this price- toilet was broken, no hot water, no supplies like toilet paper, elevator out of service- vomit in the elevator and no one cleaned it up just put signs up. Room was dirty, loud, and hot. Very small rooms. Pillows were so soft your head was on the bed. No deals for parking. Parking was far and very expensive.

We had a terrible experience here. Hot water was non existent. One of two elevators was broke down all weekend with no urgency to fix. Windows leaked in cold and every morning the windows were frosted over inside. Our room was across from the elevator on the top floor and all we heard all day and night was the gears grinding. The only positive thing was the beds were comfortable and if you have earplugs sleep is possible.

We stayed in a regular double room mid-November. Room was a good size with decent size en-suite. Breakfast is a ‘grab and go' muffins, cereal bars etc. at present there is no daily room service due to staffing however you just call reception for anything you need. The downsides to the hotel are location and noise. It's in the southern loop so a fair 20/25 min walk from downtown (you can get bus or train) and as it's in the business area there isn't much in the immediate area on the weekend. Also, it's right on a busy road and our room was on a corner so there was constant traffic and construction. Staff were pleasant and helpful enough. Solid 7/10.

We found the hotel location was its best attribute. So close to downtown and Soldier Field where we were taking in a Bears game. We had cleanliness issues with a couple of the rooms and requested room changes twice. The majority of the staff was friendly and responsive to our requests. Support staff was also responsive and attentive. The beds were clean and comfortable. The rooms need repairs to the walls and doors and the windows and frames need replacing, at least in all of the three rooms we were in. This could be a great property if BW decides to put some money into repairs and replacement of doors and windows.

I booked this hotel because of its location to the Museum Campus. When I originally booked it online, I chose a King Bed room because it was the cheapest option at the time. However, after I booked it, I read online that the King rooms were not the updated rooms and did not have the fridge or microwave. I called and explained that I made a mistake and asked to be switched to a room with a fridge and microwave and they changed my room with no problems and no extra cost! Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised that we now had a great corner room on the 4th floor with views of both Grant Park and downtown. It was great! The views were amazing, we saw the sun rise over the Field Museum, and were able to watch all the runners participate in the Hot Chocolate Run while we were there. The breakfast was a simple grab and go, but that was ok. In fact, it was more than I expect at a city hotel (where many offer no breakfast at all). The location was directly across the street from the Pedestrian Bridge that brings you to the museums. There is a Trader joes, a grocery store, and restaurants near by. Plus Yolk is right next door. (And a liquor store as well) We had a good stay. Would stay again if we visit the same area of the city.

Location was nice. Right off museum campus so not right in the middle of the city so much more quiet. Lake front trail made it easy to walk to navy pier or the river walk. Rooms couldn't used updating.

Most hotels, even swanky one, have at least a few surly staff members. Not this one. Nothing but smiles and sincerity. And you can beat the location. It overlooks Grant Park. And all the hotels around it are $75-$150 more a night.

From the moment I arrived I realized this was a mistake. Save yourself a headache. Work site an noisy , customer service was horrible, was hanged up on after asking a simple question. Showering in the morning was cold no hot water. Just bad place to stay.

The location of the Best Western Grant Park is great. We went for marathon weekend and did not want to take the train to the start on race morning. We were also in walking vicinity afterwards, which was quite convenient. The hotel itself is a bit dated and our room was in need of a refresh - lights didn't work, toilet wouldn't flush. Breakfast amenities were lacking (running out of coffee…) and there were quirks with having no room service. Overall the staff we encountered though was very friendly and willing to help. I just wish we wouldn't have needed their services so often.

Just nothing great just kind of ok. Nothing to remember but the loud road noise at 2 in the morning. Staff acted like I was a inconvenience while checking in. The rooms were clean. The restrooms were not updated at all. The ac/heater was noisy and could not be set to share it didn't kick onn and off over and over.

We were unpleasantly surprised & appalled at the old & shabby appearance of this as a Best Western Hotel, considering the location in downtown Chicago. Extreme back lane noise very early in the a.m. 4:00-6:00 (they should supply ear plugs!) The rooms are in dire need of an upgrade, old carpet, shabby walls, etc. Would have made sense if at check-in they ask if you want room cleaned, rather than finding out later that they only do upon request (d/t COVID?) The (breakfast?) restaurant was under renovation so the 'grab & go' breakfast offer in the lobby was disappointing. The only bonus was the good location to Lakeshore Dr, the parks & the short walk to Buddy Guy's Legends club - the best!!

The room was a decent size. Housekeeping does not come in unless you ask the front desk to do so. Beds were nice. My only issue is that the street noise was so loud it would wake me up throughout the night. I slept closest to the window. Maybe pack some earplugs next time. Just thought of that now as I'm writing.

I spent 4 nights there in a room on the 9th floor (lake view). The room had all I needed : mini fridge, safe, TV, iron board, and reliable free wifi. The batroom had amenities (lotion, shampoo, conditioner, face & body soap) and a hairdryer. Location was excellent : 10mn walking distance from the lake Michigan (museum campus) to see the sunrise (that I could see from my room), about 15mn from the Roosevelt train station (red line) and 30mn walking distance to the Riverwalk and just a few minutes more to get to Navy Pier (unless you take a water taxi from Museum Campus). The area is safe from early morning to late evening (i walk on my own and felt at ease - security and police all around, if you stay in The Loop area). And the staff is extremely nice (Thank you Joseph and the other that i cross path with).

Nice room with fridge, microwave. Free internet. No filtered water available in the building. Close to trains and buses. Two staircases besides the elevator, but on ground level they close at night. The restaurant is under construction, so breakfast was pretty limited but the hotel is next door to a famous breakfast place.

Today Esmee at the Best Western at Chicago went above and beyond to help me and my husband. She got us a room at a great price right next to the venue my husbands concert will be at. She worked with us and Expedia in order to solve our room issue and got us ready for our trip. She's an amazing worker and definitely deserves a raise. Thank you Esmee!!!!

Esme with this Best Western was an absolutely fabulous representative for this business and company. I seriously cannot thank her enough for her kindness and willingness to go above and beyond to help. I refuse to write just the minimum because she, herself, went so far beyond the regular duties. Often you call a hotel and they're busy and rather short. Not only was she so patient, but she was empathetic for our plight. Truly, thank you, Esme.

As noted by my profile, I am a budget travler and do not expect luxury, but I do expect cleanliness, safety and basics. This hotel, in my opinion, was lacking some basics. In particular, a refrigerator in the room. Normally I get bottled water to refill our own bottles with ice water. Likewise, we could not bring any left overs home because there was no refrigerator. They also did not have ice water available in the lobby except for one evening where it was not refilled. We ended up having to buy $2 water from the vending machines until all the vending machines on each floor ran out of water. The room is also very small. The one bed is up against the air conditioner. There were also some cosmestic issues- areas in the bathroom that needed to be repainted and a towel holder on the back of the door falling off In general, it was one of the more expensive hotels I have stayed in and also one of the most disappointing. The pros? Location- near public transportation- both the Metra and L. Also near museums and walkable to multiple locations.

Housekeeping will come by at 7:30am even though you have put out the do not disturb placard. Either they are trying to steal from you because they don't think you're in the room at that time of the morning or they are disrespectful to their guest. Either is unacceptable. Hotel staff doesn't care, and will do nothing for you. They also will not have a parking spot for you in their garage because they will sell it to someone who isn't staying at the hotel forcing you to park blocks away.

There was dried blood in our bathroom, you could tell the room wasn't cleaned. On top of that, we had bugs in our bed both nights, and when it was reported staff brushed it off and said it was normal. It was WAY too overpriced for the disgusting quality

2 stars only because the space in our room was a large area for our family of 5 and it was only a 20 minute walk to popular attractions. This hotel sits across the street from the park at the far end where the park ends, a 20 minute walk away from the nice area of downtown. Be prepared to hear a lot of noise, especially loud music from loud cars and sirens at all hours. Also, be prepared to be greeted by homeless people who sit on the benches on each side of the main entrance to the hotel daily. I mean literally right there. Two benches straight in front with 2 double doors to the hotel right in between. We stayed 4 nights and noticed these people gathering as early as 10am. We saw zero hotel security and zero hotel staff doing anything to move them along. My 14 year old daughter and I walked back from shopping about 4pm one afternoon and witnessed a man doing something no woman, person, or a girl should ever see!! It was repulsive. The rooms were dark, dingy & cleaned once in 4 nights. There were 5 of us. 4 of us crammed onto 2 double beds and one on the cardboard pullout. I had to ask for TP and Kleenex as well as new towels because the ones they gave us had stains. The A/C is excruciatingly loud. It comes on like thunder. Everyone freezes. Then goes off. Everyone overheats. It does not stay constant. There is no way to adjust. It was miserable. To be fair, there was a small fridge that did work, a small microwave, and hot water in the shower. These truly were the only pluses in the room. As far as the hotel? I absolutely cannot believe it is a Best Western. I'm embarrassed for them.

We enjoyed our stay at Best Western Grant Park. The rooms were clean, and the beds comfy. except we wished there was a hot breakfast. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Hotel is close to museums, restaurants, and beautiful Grant Park. Excellent location!

I read reviews before booking so I had a pretty good idea of accommodations and was not far from what I expected. I loved the location because it is directly across from Grant Park, museum, aquarium, and Soldier field so we could walk and see/do a lot and leave the car parked! We actually walked to the Magnificent Mile. It is about a50 minute walk but plenty to see and do closer. Beautiful views of Lake Michigan very near. The beds were clean and comfortable which is very important to me. There was no lounge, breakfast area. Very limited space to park and unload. However the valets we're terrific, friendly, helpful. I did a bit of research and comparison and this hotel was the best value for parking and stay. It was $52 to valet park which is just below every other garage/hotel and overall $100 cheaper than majority of hotels. We stayed one night. My friend stayed at a hotel on the Mag Mile and it was $58 for SELF parking per night. I much preferred the $52 valet at Best Western as we could leave the car until 4pm on check out day which allowed us ample time to do more sight seeing before leaving without having to move the car or pay for more parking. The valet pulled the car up we checked out and loaded our belongings and then he reparked it until we left at 4pm

Extremely helpful staff. Location is as close to museum complex as you can get! Perfect for Shedd, Adler, and Field. Valet parking was good. Hotel does need some renovation, which is upcoming. Will stay again!

Great location.. Hotel is clean and front staff is friendly.. Will definitely stay again .The valet parking was very convenient because you don't have to drive around to find parking. Breakfast could be better but average.

We chose this hotel because it was a BW, we could use our points for a free room...but mostly because of it's prime location. That is what you are paying for. Minutes walk to the museums, Soldier Field, the lake, Buckingham Fountain, Grant Park...as well as restaurants, theater, etc. So, for the location, we could overlook the small rooms, small beds, aged building, old furniture, etc. To be fair, it was a perfectly clean, serviceable room...but you're paying for the location.

We arrived early and they were very accommodating in getting us a room right away. Gave us easy and cost effective directions to Wrigley Field. We paid for the parking and our car was brought immediately when we wer ready to leave. The downfall was view, we looked at Columbia College. .

Friendly & helpful staff … very nice people!! Location is PERFECT for museum campus (Adler, Shedd, Field). About 1 mile from Cadillac Theater. The hotel is currently in need of renovation, which it is getting soon. Definitely will stay again.

Oh where to begin... the overall "guest experience" is completely overlooked. I did not feel at all like a guest, I felt like an "inconvenience". I believe that the people that work here are merely punching a clock & simply do not care. Although I have many poor details of my experience I could point out, here are just a few: • At check in I was told that if I wanted housekeeping, I would have to let them know the night before. So halfway through my stay of 6 days, I went to the desk and requested this. The next morning I left for work and returned to the hotel around 3pm. My room was not touched but the housekeepers were still on my floor. I left again and on my way out I mentioned that my room hadn't been completed yet to the front desk. After checking, they told me that the housekeepers didn't do my room because I had a do not disturb sign on my door. I told them that I did NOT have it on my door and they must have made a mistake (I never had it on my door). They said they'd take care of it. When I returned around 8pm, there was a bag of towels & soaps with a do not disturb sign hanging from the door knob. They sure showed me! • The room I was given was 821, right next to the ice machine/vending. There is a problem with the ice machine. Once each night (first time was at 3am) a loud, high-pitched whistle emanated from the pressure control thing behind the ice maker that lasts for about 4 minutes. It sounds like the kind of sound effect normally suited for horror movies. Not that I care because I wouldn't ever step foot in this hotel again but please consider fixing it for future guests. I know, I should have changed rooms but mere curiosity kept me there; would anyone else complain? Would it be fixed? Such suspense! Free breakfast Day 1: The hostess asked my room number, handed me a styrofoam plate & bagged plastic silverware set/napkin and told me that it's dine-in only. Self-serve buffet had no labels so every guest has to open each big container to see what's inside. Food was OK for buffet style. No butter available for toast. Day 2: Same experience except hostess saw some coffee spilled near coffee station. She dropped a green towel on it and left it there. Solved! Day 3: Same except containers now had little signs indicating some of the food. Apparently the sausage I had been eating every day was turkey sausage; who knew? Day 4: Dining room locked. Was told breakfast had moved to the lobby. Coffee, fruits. I've had better breakfasts in hospitals.

Location is this hotel's only positive. It is located next to all the main museums so it was easy for us to walk or ride a bus to the see the attractions. It is also located very close to a subway stop. However, the actual stay itself was not the best. The air conditioner did not work very well and even though it ran the whole time we were there, it remained warm in our room. The room was dated and on the dirty side and there was not a refrigerator. During our 5 day stay, our room was only cleaned once because they are short staffed. Breakfast consisted of packaged granola bars and pastries because the dinning area is being remodeled. I would not stay here again.

It was a great location for what we needed to do. It is a bit noisy. Points accepted which is great. Needs upgrades. Beds nice & comfy. Manager is friendly. Valet only parking so had to use other lot.

The hotel is positioned perfectly for easily walking to tourist destinations and is fantastic quality for the price. With the exception of the complimentary breakfast, which was somewhat limited in variety and flavor, I was extremely satisfied with my stay.

Have stayed in several hotels in the area for comparison. Awesome staff, super-clean, great breakfast, unbeatable location...way better than most hotels nearby at a fraction of the price. Consistently a great stay. Highly recommend!

Great hotel with beautiful views of Grant Park and Lake Michigan. Great shopping on the south end of Michigan Ave. Close to all transportation lines . Restaurants are of every variety in the area. Everything in walking distance. Museums, boat rides, night life and grocery stores all near by.

The hotel was very clean, excellent customer service, excellent location. All the important places were walking distance. Places to eat nearby. Breakfast was beyond expectative, good variety of food. . 100% recommended for vacationing.

Overall a great place to stay. Amazing buffet breakfast with many options to start your day off right. Good location with close proximity to public transit, the room was nice and the staff were super friendly. I think his name was Joseph who worked at the front desk some of the nights I was staying and he was super helpful and kind, I wish I could have said bye before leaving, but I guess that just means I'll have to come back in the future!

Had a great experience here. DO NOT expect brand new everything. The staff was nice, the bedding was surprisingly good, bathroom nice, & the included breakfast was impressive. I have already recommended to others!

Unfortunately we had an emergency at home & had to return after having only stayed there for 2 nights. But the staff made everything so easy for us, everyone was so polite and helpful. Especially Bernard at the front desk. The location is perfect, we'd intended to see more of the park and museums... but we WILL be back!

Shower hot water was poor sink was hotter, showerhead jet too strong hurt the skin. Water from shower went all over the bathroom floor. Great location of the property close too everything we wanted to visit.

The views from our room were spectacular, the staff was so nice and made great recommendations for us and the hotel was within walking distance of the museums. Breakfast was really nice as well. So pleased with our stay.

We picked this location because of the proximity to the museums. It is also close to a lot of restaurants and entertainment options. The check in was easy, they park your car for a fee, but you can get the car out as often as you need to. The rooms were very comfortable, and we had a great view of the part and fields museum. The bed was comfortable. They have breakfast included that was decent. Overall, it was the prefect place to get away for a weekend and enjoy the museums.

I stayed at Best Western Grant Park while I attended a conference at McCormick Place in Chicago. This was my first trip after the Covid shut-down for the past two years. The room of this Best Western was clean so I was not worried about the Covid. Staff members always wore masks and were friendly and always greeted me with a smile. The location is safe to walk and convenient to supermarkets, restaurants, parks, and not far from conference locations. The hotel also provided hearty breakfast: scrambled eggs, sausages, fruits, yogurts, coffee, tea, etc.

Very family friendly. Parking was so easy here (but not included). Breakfast was just what we needed. Close to aquarium. We were able to park before the room check in time and kept our car at the hotel even after we checked out the next morning while we toured around. Staff were very helpful and friendly. As far as the room goes, not a 5 star, but it met our needs. One light flickered, curtains let in a lot of light, but nothing really bad. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend this place! My daughter and I stayed here for a weekend trip and we were very pleased, and also felt very safe. All of the staff were helpful. We asked then to check on a flickering bathroom light and it was replaced in the time it took us to eat breakfast. You also can't beat the location for walking to the Field museum, Shedd aquarium, and Adler planetarium.

Great staff, worn out hotel. No mini fridge, mediocre breakfast. TV has very few real selections. Not every guest is looking for a dozen sports networks, some like other entertainment of which there was very little. Small room. Heat functioned, but not well

I really enjoyed how easy it was to check in and check out. The rooms were clean and if I needed anything, the front desk was pretty good about answering requests. The only issue I had was with reservations, in which I asked a couple days before if we would be able to stay in the same room. Our flight changed and we had to add an additional night. It was more of a hassle to switch rooms than to stay in one. Thankfully the lady at the front was generous enough to fix it for us.

Worked perfectly for a school trip to the city. Practical, clean, and staff were helpful and friendly. Walking distance to Museum Campus. Right on bus route. 2 blocks from train. Would stay there again no problem.

There's a hotel agent by the name of Miss Griffen at the Best Western Hotel Chicago in Grant Park. She is awesome. She believes in making sure her customers are very well taken care of. Miss Griffen is very personable and open. I have dealt with her on two different occasions when I checked in at the hotel. Finally, Miss Griffen makes her customers want to come back to Best Western Hotel at Grant Park Chicago.

My stay went great. The rooms were decent and the packaged breakfast made it easy to grab and go. The only thing I wish was a better parking offer it was $35 a night. But then we parked on the street and had to pay every 4 hours for more parking.

If I could write 10 out of 5 stars I would. We had called in to request a room with a pretty view high up. When we got to the hotel we were treated by Nancy with excellent service. When we got to out room we weren't too pleased with the height or the view. So we figure why not ask if we can change rooms. We were showed two rooms by another fantastic employee. After seeing both my partner and I couldn't really decide which room to pick. After finally picking a room we realized we actually like the other room we were showed. Nancy had warned us that she wouldn't let us move around more than once. So I went down to her with my head in my hands apologizing and asking to move one final time. She let us move to our desired room and maintained fantastic customer service the entire time. I have never seen anyone provide such great service. Nancy is a super star and dealt with our picky asses amazingly! Let this woman run the whole hotel us she already doesn't and make sure she's paid above and beyond because her work ethic is above and beyond

Good location, clean room and nice size. Everything was good and the staff was great, especially Griffen. Griffen is the best. Super helpful and just all around awesome. Made the stay just easy and good.

Walking distance to Soldier Field, restaurants and bars. Some of the nicest staff I have found on our travels, makes your trip that much better! We plan on coming back and doing some sightseeing, we will be staying here again. Well worth it, clean and affordable with excellent service!

Came into Chicago to see Genesis w/Phil Collins. The hotel was about 3 miles away from the concert venue, so convenient, however when I asked the desk clerk how long it would take to get there, she stated it was 20-30 minutes away. She said the venue was across the city. She had no idea how close it really was. This was my only gripe, otherwise great place to stay.

I give this hotel a 4 because of: Great rates, friendly and efficient staff, and SO close to museum campus/train/L. No breakfast area, but they offered a grab-n-go bag continental breakfast. And so-so coffee (Yolk is around the side of the building.) This is an old hotel. NO frills. Do not expect that here - there is a reason the rates are cheap! We really enjoyed our stay as we weren't here much. Mini Fridge in the room, microwave. Trader Joes is close by if you need additional food. :-) The pull-out couch option worked but it was not comfortable at all. King bed was hard according to those who slept on it. :-) Bonus was that we could store our bags in a locked room for the whole day we were at a museum and had an evening flight. Again, staff were very friendly and efficient!

The overall experience of staying in Best Western Grant Park Hotel is very good except I've received the email "How was your stay at Best Western Grant Park Hotel?" Because it addressed me as "Fat Keung Wong" which was totally differ from my name. Oops !

Rooms were below average. But clean. Location was good for breakfast choices if you can't wait till 8am for bagged hotel offering. Tracey was amazing and front desk staff are excellent. Moved out early to be near airport

Did not enjoy my experience in this hotel, the location that I needed was great but the hotel itself was not. the rooms where dirty and old. There was a big patch of paint missing on the ceiling. The windows where so dirty you could not see out of them and if you tried to clean them they might have fallen out. the carpet was dirty and paint was just missing everywhere on the walls throughout the room. the bathroom was not up to date and water had been leaking under the sink. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, they seriously need to update for the amount they charge.

Felt unsafe as the door wouldn't shut properly. Poor outdated decor. No fridge. Felt very dirty.bathroom was dirty. There was a crack all the way around the door letting light in from hallway. Valet took an hour to bring my car. And the bags in my car were all over the place like it had been driven erratically.

Ants invaded our hotel room. Our second room didn't have a refrigerator. We stayed for 3 nights so this was a big deal. The rooms weren't clean, there were crumbs everywhere. The wifi barely worked and I dont have unlimited data so it cost me even more money. The hotel rooms don't have a microwave either. There was one in the lobby but they supply nothing to help you warm up your food. Most to-go options use styrofoam containers which you can't microwave. We had to go buy plates just to microwave our food (that wasn't able to be refrigerated because we didnt have one in our room). Not that a lobby microwave is the best option with Covid anyway, but we left the rest of the paper plates we bought by the microwave so maybe other people would be benefitted by them since the hotel won't provide those things for their guests. Additionally, the hotel elevators do not seem very safe. There are two and although we had no problems they seemed slightly run down and they were VERY small, maybe 2.5ft x 3.5ft. The only good thing about the hotel is it's location. We spent too much money for what we received. The staff was friendly enough but that doesn't outweigh all of the other issues with this hotel.

We were moved rooms almost immediately due to the fridge not working. In addition we needed new bedding in the night and were told bc housekeeping wasn't there that we couldn't get new sheets/blankets until 7 am. We had both beds in use and had to split one entire bed set for two beds. We let the front desk know upon leaving for the day of the matter and yet when we arrived back to the room 12 hours later, we were still left with dirty towels, bedding, trash not emptied, and the bed not made. For what I spent on this hotel I am VERY dissatisfied with the service we received

Avoid this place like the plague!. Service is terrible, its dingy and dirty, the restaurant is closed, our bathroom has problems with the tub/shower faucet and shower curtain rod, there is a central air exhaust system the runs constantly and sounds like a jet engine. Our room smelled of cigarette smoke when the entire hotel was supposed to be smoke-free. Overpriced what what you get. Run far away!

Shower rod was ripping out of the wall at both ends, water damage on ceiling above shower, ceiling light didn't work in room, interior door lock taken off wall, room was not cleaned over 2 day stay, no fridge, tv remote didn't work, TV was on when we came into room.

2 stars overall due to the staff but 1 star due to permanent stains on blanket. I had high expectations for my honeymoon but the description of the hotel online does not match its physical appearance when it comes to cleanliness.

I used points to pay for a king room that didn't have a refrigerator or microwave. I am also a Best Western employee, so I expected the rooms to have basic amenities. All of the staff we came into contact with where very nice and professional. The lobby and the outside of the hotel where very nice.

Our room # was missing outside the doors. Furniture was in mild disrepair. Water pressure was terrible--could not wash our hair! Very noisy neighbors (fighting & yelling from 2-5 AM) not addressed by security. Great location with family friendly restaurants nearby and easy walk to the museum campus.

Be aware at night. No security in front of the hotel, Poorly lit and people begging at the front door. The pillows are horrible and the rooms are not well kept. Overpriced! The lobby is run down and the hallways are very narrow.

This hotel is a great location that is just walking distance to Grant Park and other nearby attractions. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes, plus the CTA that are just a quick walk away as well. The overall place could use cosmetic upgrades, but is okay enough if you just want a place to sleep when you're out and about for most of your stay. Not all amenities were available due to COVID restrictions which is understandable.

No breakfast, no pool, no amenities of any kind. Restaurant moved into the Hilton next door but still advertise inside BW. Staff are like cold robots with no personality. No drain plug for tub. Plus I was overcharged and had to get that corrected. Don't waste your time here

This hotel was in a great location and was very nice. The price was a little high for the small room and there was no refrigerator in the room. The beds were very comfortable and it had a nice view. There was a reasonable priced parking lot close by. I would stay here again.

Stayed here for lollapalooza which meant I was going to be out and about in the city/festival more than being at a hotel all day. It's a perfect hotel to come back to every night and crash for a few hours. Great walking distance to/from many places. If you're looking for a hotel to hunker down for a few nights 10/10 would recommend!

Perfect location for walking to the Shedd, Field Museum, and Millennium Park. Grant Park was beautiful and my family brought roller blades and spent lots of time exploring the area. The hotel is bare bones. No fridge, microwave, pool or fan in the bathroom. Hope for quiet neighbors. We brought a white noise machine to help cover up neighbor noise and street traffic noise. No daily cleaning or hot breakfast due to COVID. A grab and go breakfast was available at the front desk and was sufficient. We also got extra towels from them. The smell of pot in the area around the hotel is pervasive and follows you into the hotel. All that being said, the room was clean, the beds comfortable and it fit my budget so I would stay here again. The only thing that I really really missed was the mini-fridge. Get the Spot Hero app and get your parking taken care of early.

After being assured just two days before arrival that having the two rooms on the same floor would be no problem, we arrived to find that they had NOT done as requested. We had to wait while they figured out if there was a room available on the same floor. Valet was slow and rude. Pillows were lumpy and hard. Lights flickered when turned on. NO soundproofing. You hear EVERYTHING--street noise, people in the hall, and the room next door. Not sure what is up with the area, but at 10:30pm and 1:30am all three nights we stayed there were people yelling and singing in the streets with loud music. Only 2 small elevators (about 4 people fit, not counting luggage). Second elevator was broken on our last day. That means 9 floors were sharing one tiny elevator. Staff was cordial, but not very helpful unless you know what to ask. They didn't inform us about their covid policies, so we were surprised when they didn't clean the rooms the second day there. They did send up extra towels for us though when I asked. Ice machines only on even numbered floors. The location is good, but I advise choosing a newer hotel with proper soundproofing and bigger elevators. We barely fit the luggage cart in the elevator with us.

This stay was the worst of the worst the night shift manager or whatever she was she worked the front desk with short hair she was very rude and disrespectful cussing and threatening to put me and my family out stating we had a noise complaint but it was impossible because we were laying down going to sleep ; but yet my room and the hall way was smelling like marijuana due to the room next door to me and i complained about that but She didn't care

Room was dirty, trash left from previous guest, no towels, dusty. Lobby smelled horrible. Took 30mins to check in. Elevator had trash in it. Lady at front desk had an attitude when I came to ask her towels because we didn't have any in room. Wouldn't recommend this hotel if it was $1 a night

The location is in walking distance of the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Planetarium & Grant Park. I highly recommend a room that overlooks Grant Park! The hotel itself leaves much to be desired, outdated and missing some basic things like a bathroom fan. When booking our stay, we also noticed many rooms didn't include fridge or microwave. The lack of parking & traffic noise is to be expected with being downtown Chicago.

Location is near to Grant Park, Downtown and other restaurants. It doesn't have themicrowave and mini fridge in rooms. Value for Money and room are clean and decent . Fast check-in and check out process.

The hotel is in a nice location. Yolk, the restaurant around the corner is a GREAT place to eat. THe aquarium and Museum are not far away. However, it is VERY hard to find a taxi at this hotel, and it takes lift a while to get there. The Front Desk did not help us wit this. Room ad no fridge, bathroom was not super clean, no TV guide in the room, and overall not the best experience I've had at a Best Western.

Older property in South Loop area. Parking at a premium price. Assigned room street side and noise throughout night annoying. No daily housekeeping. One bed had blood on cover. Vagrant population outside entry problematic.

The outer walls here are not walls, they are single glass and metal panes with NO noise protection from the street whatsoever. (I have no idea how they keep the place heated in winter.) The sound of motorcycles revving their engines all night was absolutely intolerable. Additionally, the walls inside are paper thin and we had a screaming baby in the next room. I think we each got 2 or 3 hours of sleep max - completely ruined our next day and our trip. Do NOT stay here!!!!

This location with a view of grant park was excellent! It was a comfortable stay at a reasonable price, within walking distance of the museums, navy pier and plenty of good places to eat! Would definitely recommend staying here while in town.

No breakfast, no room service, no clean towels each day, no emptying trash, no replenishment of soaps or coffee daily, and no reduced price for not getting this service.. Website should clearly tell guests what they're not going to get.

Dated rooms and fixtures with minor issues. Zero frills. The shower was spacious and in good order, the bed was reasonably comfortable. The hallway could use a good vacuuming but the room itself was very clean and quiet other than traffic that is beyond anyone's control. The location across from Grant Park was nice. We had a corner room with a nice view. I loved all the windows but they did make the room very warm in the mornings. Luckily the AC worked like a champ. If you don't need much from a hotel other than a cool place to sleep and a good shower, this is very budget friendly and a good enough place to stay.

Unfortunately Covid effected the service available in this older but clean city hotel. With views of Grant Park, I think this hotel would be much more vibrant when the restaurant, lounge and pool are open.

We stay at this hotel 4-6 times each year when we're picking up, or dropping off, our daughter (who attends SAIC). A great location with easy access to the Orange line (serves Midway airport) and Loop; super clean, wonderful front-desk staff and housekeeping staff - everyone is so pleasant, helpful, professional and efficient. And, ask for an upper floor with a view of the lake - spectacular!

Avoid staying here unless you don't mind all night parties, smoking, fighting and the sound of sirens. The police are called here frequently. I live in the area and see what goes on. The cheap rates attract the worst along with unsuspecting guests from out of town who probably think they are getting a great deal.

You would think a hotel across from Grant Park, downtown would be amazing....not the case. When I arrived I knew I was in trouble from the guest outside. While the service is amazing the rooms are old and nasty. I'm sure they try their best but there's gum on the night stand, one of my pillow cases was dirty prior to me sleeping— it's just blah. It's an older hotel and not at all what I expected. Will never stay here again. I'm still so shocked. Luckily I had a great view which helped some.

Bad service, long check-in lines, dirty room, broken AC, fast food underneath the bed, notes written on the mirror, front desk does not accommodate to their guests. Save your money and book ANYWHERE ELSE!

Check in was fine and friendly,but the place went downhill from there. I requested that I be moved to anther room did due road noise. The 2nd room was much the same, I figured the windows offered little to no insulation for noise or cold. The smell of Marijuana was a daily occurrence. The thunderous closing of neighbors doors never stopped. Bed comfort was meh, but it didn't matter with the noise. We could hear voices from the sidewalk and we were on the 6th floor. Brutal. Won't stay here again. Cannot recommend.

Great hotel with a decent view of the park , friendly stuff , fast check in & out. Remember if going to this hotel plan ahead for parking. Inside the hotel has a list of close by parking lot that you're able to park in for reasonable prices.

When I stay at a hotel I typically wanna stay as long as I can, use my time I paid for. Not the case here, I just really wanted to leave after I woke up. No microwave, no fridge, awful television. Not up to par.

My gf and I stayed here for a night as part of spring break. The front desk staff was very nice, and our room was clean. I do wish there was a fridge or microwave included in the room. Great View from the 9th floor!

I needed a hotel for an overnight in the city. I booked this hotel and I was quite pleased. My first room was comfortable, very clean and with a nice view, room 526. However, the toilet refill tank failed, and after alerting the cordial and very professional front desk, I was immediately switched to room 825. This had a southern exposure and views to the new condominium buildings on the southern edge of Grant Park. The room was very nice. Multiple power outlets provided all of the recharging capabilities one could ask for, the coffee machine produced a nice cup and again, the room was spotless. I was very pleased with my selection. I will come back.

I arrived on the 13 and stay until 18 of March. The location was ok. It was easy to get there from the airport. I flew from South East Asia (24 hours flight) got to the hotel around noon and very tired. I understand that I can't check in early before 3pm but the staff just didn't even help me with anything. They act like they didn't care the customers that much. The room was big and clean, also smelled marijuana for the whole floor. The room has no microwave and small refrigerator. Overall I would stay in different hotel next time!

This is the 2nd time I have stayed in this hotel and it will be the last. The first time, I noticed that it appeared worn down but it was acceptable. This time I noticed that it has further deteriorated. It is no fault of the staff here as they were nothing but professional, friendly and accommodating. I can only hope that they find jobs at a nicer hotel. But you cannot call down to the front desk and expect them to remodel the room. While it was superficially clean, the carpets are old, the furnishings are old and worn, and the beds have also been around a long time. The Ick factor was high. If you can afford it, spend a few more dollars to stay somewhere else. It will be worth it. Regarding covid protocols here, the staff were enforcing them as well as they could but we saw them challenged by a few guests. One man charged his way into our elevator without a mask and wouldn't get out. We chose to exit and get another elevator rather than expose ourselves. He also was defiant to the hotel staff and they called the police to assist. Another thing going on here is that there are people sitting at the front entrance smoking marijuana. The pungent smell upon entering the hotel was very unwelcoming.

So happy that I found this place. It sits right on S Michigan Ave, and you surely would not know it from the cost. They have mastered the art of providing a 5 star experience for a 3 star price. Staff was incredibly helpful and professional, rooms were clean, noise levels were non-existent as far as people in the halls/loud music/etc.

I have a five night stay in this hotel it's been two days been stuck in the elevator twice I went to inform the front desk about the elevator being stuck the lady at the front desk told me very rudely try not to get stuck 3:53 am Saturday

Don't get the king suite as it surrounds the elevator shaft...noise all night. Dog park on south side in courtyard for Apartment neighbors...noise all night. Single pane glass provides no insulation from sounds of the alley...noise and wind whistling through crack all night. And to put icing on the cake Dirty bathroom floors. I'm running out of room. 2 stars because of nice staff but that's it!

The room was very comfortable the only thing i had a problem with is the coffee maker wasn't clean but the stay was very nice and helpful. Parking is 30-45 dollar a day to park in downtown Chicago but front desk was very helpful with telling me the rates and how i can get free overnight parking.

I saw 2 roaches. If you see two how many are you not seeing? This hotel is in a great location so if you don't mind roaches this is the place for you. I will find a different hotel next time. There is no in/out parking even though the website says there is.

Arriving early on a Saturday to stay for the weekend and explore the city, I was told they cannot hold my bag until check-in, citing covid precautions. Which I don't see why it would be the case, and it meant that I had to carry my bag with me throughout while I was out and about. When I checked in, I asked about the possibility of a late checkout the next day. They told me to ask in the morning as they allocate those on a first-come first-serve basis. They said to come by 7am. Next morning, I go to the front desk at 6:20 and am told that they already have given out all possible late checkouts. They could have at least considered my request or remembered my request from the previous day. Otherwise, good location, right by Grant Park. Still, the experience makes me unlikely to come back.

They went above and beyond to make it comfortable and they succeeded! Their genuine personalities were awesome and Chris was on point and made things clear and easy from the get go! Kudos to the staff and best western themselves!

Rooms needs more amenities, definitely should have a Miniature Refrigerator and Microwave in each room, or elsewhere inside the hotel room, I was unable to reheat my food in my room and it caused me to waste it, I was highly unsatisfied of that matter. And also these Televisions are outdated, they need to be updated and open for guests to connect personal consoles such as video game consoles to the televisions .

We actually had roaches in our room and because there is not always a manager on duty we literally had to wait to actually talk to someone.It was a big mess I will never stay at this location again...

The Chicago Grant Park Best Western is an excellent, basic hotel. The rooms are aging but clean and comfortable. The views of the lake and downtown are beautiful. I loved seeing the sunrise out of the lake on clear mornings. Don't expect modern amenities like USB charging port or a TV that can interface with your devices. The wi-fi strength is acceptable. I love the central location of this hotel. It's a pleasant 45 minute walk to the Gold Coast and 10 to 20 minute walks to the Art Institute, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum and Adler Planetarium. It is a five minute walk to the Roosevelt CTA station. There are plenty of excellent, reasonably priced restaurants nearby.

Went to Chicago back in February 2020. Had a lovely time the city was great, and the food was even better. Paola the guest service agent was extremely helpful and so so kind, she made us feel very comfortable! The room was good, no weird smells or anything like it. The only thing i would complain about would be the elevator. It felt unsteady, there was a strange odor, and it just felt moist as soon as you went in there. The location of this hotel was good for us. It is a bit of a walk to the bean and surrounding areas so keep this in mind if you're not a fan of walking medium/big distances. We would stay here again everyone we came in contact with was very helpful and the room satisfied our needs.

Want ever stay there again the room I booked came with no breakfast, microwave, or refrigerator. Paper thin walls, bugs, paint chipping all over the floor, towels were dingy, no housekeeping service for the three days of my stay. Front desk young lady that checked me in was nice but the manager was very antisocial.

Don't have a microwave in rooms or lobby was told they took microwave out . Well employees where do you warm your food up at ??? I went next door to very friendly Hilton where they have a microwave in lobby and room. The employee over there couldn't believe there's no microwave period here . Well believe it !!

Random people and staff standing outside and hanging outside the front entrance of the hotel when I arrived and throughout the day. Made me very uncomfortable. This was not a good look for this hotel. I definitely wouldn't stay here again

Elevator broke down on our 2nd night (this happens often according to note on elevator) and we had to walk up 14 flights of stairs...too hot for that crap. Front desk is very helpful and informative. Great location. Everything you need is within a 3 block radius. There's also a great skateboard park nearby.

The cleanliness was not what I expected. There were bugs and ants. And in corners of beds it is not clean. All sorts of old wrappers from other peoples stay. We got a dirty towel and the sheets didn't looked changed. Tabletops looked dirty as well. Please do better! It's the pandemic!!

When i came in the bathroom i couldn't find the light switch but after 25 minutes I found it and when I left the bathroom there is a stain on the carpet. The lamp shades had burned marks, cracked and stains. But the chair's back was falling off and the other chair had stains and also on the ottoman. The window isn't washed and cleaned for years and below curtain is water. Overall i wouldn't highly recommend this place and this is a cheap place to stay.

When I came in the bathroom i saw that there was a bubble on the bathroom roof and when i came out the bathroom there was a stain on the carpet and the lamp shade was broken and cracked but the business chair's back is falling off and the other chair had stains. The window is flithy. Overall i wouldn't even come back because they don't clean this hotel.

Great service and staff. Despite the corona-virus hysteria they provided exemplary service and a stellar price. King bed was comfy and room neat and cozy. Hopefully the outbreak dies down but this hotel is certainly a must-go if you're in need of a place to stay.

Facility was clean, staff was very friendly, location is just far enough off of the beaten path that it is spared the usual traffic and city noises, across from grant park which was great! Lots of food choices in the area, I recommend trying them.

This was my first stay at this location and it was a good one. Vivian at the front desk was very accommodating, and the new manager (general manager?) was incredibly helpful. The rooms were clean and the shower heads were nice. (I stay at a few best westerns where the shower heads are the annoying ones that spray water everywhere). This hotel is located close to the El and bus stops. It's a very convenient location.

We visited this hotel last week to stay in Chicago while my wife took the bar exam. The hotel staff were amazing! When we got there (just a few minutes past the earliest check-in time) our room wasn't quite ready. They had us sorted in less than 5 minutes and gave us breakfast vouchers for even that slight inconvenience. Then, when the valet parking realized my car was a manual (their parking only does automatic), I thought I would have to park in a neighboring lot. However, the staff worked with their sister location, the Hilton, to take my car and make it work. All of the staff were courteous and upbeat. It made a stressful couple of days that much easier. I stayed at the Grant Park Hotel for a recent convention in Chicago. Paola was the friendliest and most helpful front desk person I have encountered in years. The bellmen were always there to open doors and help with the elevator. The hotel was clean and well serviced but it is a bit older.

Only stayed one night and we were only there to sleep. The hotel was fine, no issues. However the rooms could do with some “TLC”. Decent location but maybe a little too far south of all the Bars etc we wanted to visit. Would stay again if I was in that area.

Had a nice view of Chicago and the Field Museum. Room have thin walls, glad my neighbors weren't too noisy. Good for working, conveniently located next to subway, food and shops. Bathroom was big and nice. Complementary coffee in room not great.

I traveled to Chicago by myself. That day I stayed shower didn't work well so I needed to go to next hotel to take a shower around midnight:( It wasn't good point during such a cold day. Otherwise the location is convenient, their room is clean and staff are very gentle and kind. I really appreciate them. Thank you.

Last Mont my Girlfriend and I be there It was very good service at front desk for de Agent Paola, She gave us a lot of recomendations for visit places, restaurants and atraccions in Chicago, the hotel is on Michigan Av but the South, doesnt have a restaurant and the beds are not good but in general it was a good stay.

This place is not run very well. The heater broke and it took them 4.5 hours to get us a new room with tons of unoccupied rooms. They claimed they had to clean a room. The new room had poop stains on the comforter. Check your room Thoroughly before you go in.

We had a great stay well looked after, the room was good clean and comfortable. If you need parking and don't want to pay $52 for hotel parking there is a safe garage down the road.we would stay there again.

I've been to this hotel twice, both for Chicago Bears games. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the stadium so it's very convenient. I booked my room through Expedia and prepaid the reservation. Upon arrival I found out that my room was cancelled by Expedia. After numerous calls back and forth with them they were no help and I thought I was out a room. With the help of the front desk agent Janette P, she was able to reinstate my reservation and help me continue on with my trip. Shout out to Janette for really helping me out in a bind.

Easy access to trains and bus. Walking distance to shedd aquarium, field museum, planetarium. Quick valet service. Friendly staff. If you have kids, get a south facing room as there is a dog park on top of the building next door. Route 29 is a quick bus trip to the children's museum. Millennium park has an amazing playground and is a quick trip on the green line. Very close walk to Trader Joe's and jewel osco grocery stores. Subway and aurelios pizza nearby, so good healthy food options. Rooms are dry in the winter like most hotels, bring a humidifier. No fridge, microwave downstairs. Plan your meals accordingly.

Went to Chicago for the bears game. Manager Chris and his Valet friend were AMAZING to us. Found us a place to park and when we called while we were at the game they found our zone and license plate number.

Great hotel in the core of Chicago. Great and friendly staff, located on Michigan Ave. across from Grant Park and close to many tourist attractions and shopping. Transportation to anywhere in Chicago is easy using public transit (bus, subway, trains) --- the neighbourhood is friendly and safe!

First off, the location of the hotel is awesome, it's on Michigan Ave within walking distance to the museums, Soldier Field, the magnificent mile with all the great shopping, quick access to the bus and train, and had a great view, so that part was nice. Now for the bad, you can hear literally everything that happens in the hotel. There are doors that connect the rooms if you want (you can lock it when you don't want a connected room) but this allows you to hear your neighbors conversations clear as day. You can also hear what people across the hall are saying from your room and as you walk down the hall you can hear people's conversations in every room you pass. There are gaps and you can see the light coming through the edges of your door from the hall at night so I'm sure this increases the noise issue. The doors to the rooms SLAM every time someone comes in or out so you can hear every door that opens and closes in the entire hall. To add to this, the windows are single pane so you can also hear everything happening on the street. All the traffic driving by, all the car horns, even just car doors closing, and I could hear people just talking on the street from 7 floors up. My sister stayed at the same time and she had a homeless man playing the drums and singing outside her window one morning that she could hear clearly also from the 7th floor. The thin windows also greatly affect the temperature of the room. When the curtains are open it's freezing in the room (we were there in December) and when you close the curtains at night, then it's so hot you're sweating. There wasn't a fan in the bathroom so it had kind of a musty smell and the whole hotel room would stay foggy for a couple hours after you showered so you couldn't see out of the widows. There was also paint peeling from the ceiling in the bathroom, probably because it always stays damp. Someone in the area was smoking and the smoke would somehow come in to our bathroom and smell up the entire room (which is weird because there are no vents in the bathrooms). Gross. This happened the whole time we were there. There wasn't an ice machine on our floor and the vending machine didn't take dollar bills. The website showed it had a restaurant that had breakfast, lunch and dinner. First, it's odd breakfast wasn't included, and second, the restaurant in the hotel only offered breakfast. If you wanted lunch and dinner the "hotel restaurant' was an Asian place at the end of the block (and not the menu listed on the website). So, if you plan on staying here, bring ear plugs! Because the constant noise really made our hotel experience much less enjoyable.

This is our 3rd stay. We'll average at least 3x/year over next 4 yrs - our daughter attends school there. The location is great for tourist activities, transpo connections, fantastic foodies options, and proximity to the lake! Super easy to get there on the Orange line from Midway (avoiding O'Hare's craziness). Excellent staff in all areas, great food at Mai's, easy access to any amenity one might want. The property is very, very clean. It's an older/renovated property, so folks who prefer extra fancy might not be as happy as we are there. We get the SAIC rate, so it's the absolute best place for us to stay when in ChiTown. Love the people/staff and comfy beds, water conservation efforts at this property. Note: I' a very light sleeper, hence my 4 stars on sleep.

The location of the hotel was perfect. Walking distance to all the attractions. We had a lake view room which had an awesome view. However, the windows are single pane so you could hear everything outside. Even from the 7th floor. You could also hear everything from the room next door, like full conversations. There's no ventilation in the bathrooms and I think it's all connected because someone either next door or the floor below was smoking and out whole room smelled of smoke and there was no way to clear it out. When someone took a shower you could smell their soap, could probably smell if they had pooped. The restaurant is only open for breakfast. There was plenty of places to eat and hang out very close by though.

Close to attractions. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean. What they don't tell you is the rooms are Extremely small and behind the hotel is a high rise apartment building with a dog park... dogs were barking at all hours of the night... you can hear every noise from the street and we were on the 7th floor! The decor was old, battered and bruised. The beds were horrible, we hardly slept. My daughter actually slept on the floor the 1st night. Our double bed room with full size beds was a conjoined room, which meant the beds were on the opposite side of the wall, you had a 10 inch gap to walk around the bed to get to the rest of the room. Thank God we were all small people and could monveurver around. The coffee pot and ice bucket were on the bathroom counter.... gross! If it wasn't for location we would have left.

Stayed here based on proximity to Soldier Field. Was here for a Wine & Food Experience. Hotel was easy walking distance to Soldier Field, a plus on a nice day! Paid a bit more for a room overlooking the lake & park, and got a corner room with huge windows. Nice restaurant on the first floor for breakfast. All for a good price.

The staff was amazing, honestly the absolute best staff I have ever had at a hotel!!! Unfortunately the hotel is in desperate need of work. Bed uncomfortable, windows leak so bad that heater runs constantly (not good for skin or sinuses), walls so thin can hear details of conversations in rooms around you. Location of hotel and the staff make me want to stay here again, but because of details beyond their control I would not.

Came in for one night to catch the Bears game. So close to the museums and the game. Great bed. Clean hotel. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Also it was super close to public transportation.

I came to chicago to see a friend, see the city, and tour some schools. Best Western has a great location, so that was very helpful. It's super close to the major train lines, and very close to the metra as well, which was cool. in addition, it's right in the middle of downtown, so you can get anywhere quite easily.

The room and bed were fine. Location could have been better. The heating and cooling system either kept the room too hot or too cold. Never an in between. Bugs crawled out of the sink a couple times and you're positioned across from Columbia College Chicago's music dept. Which was playing music and drumming til 10pm. Overall, for the price, it's an okay stay but if you can pay a little more stay somewhere else, do so.

My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and unfortunately, this hotel made our experience in Chicago simply horrible. The bathroom was unacceptable as there is mold everywhere. The shower curtain is too short AND the bottom of the shower is cracked causing water to leak everywhere when you take a shower. My husband almost slipped and fell in the bathroom. The vanity is installed on an angle and very very small so you can't put anything you need on it. There is also no fan in the bathroom, which makes zero sense and contributes to why there is mold everywhere and the wallpaper is falling. In the room, there is also mold ALL along the windows. There was also a door at the window as if there is a balcony but there wasn't, which we found very odd. The room overall did not feel clean; you can see some corners simply were never cleaned. The lamp shades had stains on them!!! My husband found a bug on one of the beds in the morning!! The boxspring did not fit on the metal bedframe which we found out the hardway as the metal piece was sticking out but concealed by the bed skirt. My husband hit his shin on it while walking by and it caused a bruise! This is completely unacceptable and overall the room AND bathroom were both unsafe! We called to change rooms that night but the lady at the front desk was very rude. She told us this is how all the rooms are and simply offered more towels to help with the water in the bathroom. She said we could not change rooms. The next morning, we packed everything up and asked the daytime front desk staff to change rooms, they were able to help us change our room and did not seem surprised by our comments. They even made jokes about the fact that the bathroom doubles as a swimming pool. Even though we told the hotel in advance that we were celebrating our anniversary, they made no effort to ensure an excellent experience for us and made not acknowledgment upon our arrival. Please please please avoid this hotel if you're looking to have a good time in Chicago!! Hoping our terrible experience will help you make your choice. We have stayed in Best Western Hotels many times at different locations and this is byfar the worst one we have ever stayed at. It will take a lot to rebuild our faith in the brand.

Bellhops were amazingly helpful and kind. Lobby was small and crowded but our room was clean and offered great views of Grant Park. No mini-fridge or microwave but many restaurants within walking distance. Bed was very comfortable.

The air conditioner was hanging off the wall, looked about 20 years old and gap had been filled in roughly with expanding foam sealant. The carpet was stained and looked like mould growth in one corner. The in-room safe wasn't fixed to anything so could just be lifted up and carried off - useless! One extra star rating for great location but would book a more modern competitor next time. Noise from other rooms was bothersome because of the thin construction, the reception is nicely refurbished but the rooms above are a different story.

Overall had a great stay here. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the location is fantastic. My only complaint is with the amenities. Not only does the hotel not serve breakfast, but the room doesn't have a fridge or a microwave. Otherwise though it was a good affordable room and a great hotel.

The rooms are nicely furnished, but the walls and ceiling are still very thin. we heard the man above us walking around his room. Breakfast keash was promised but not provided. Staff was helpful as always.

Wonderful experience. Had requested a room with a view when I made the reservation. The desk clerk gave us an upper floor room where we could see the lake from. Very nice, clean room. My only complaint was that I had virtual cards from redeeming rewards points- I was asked to print my email, and eventually forwarded the emails to the desk clerk to reduce the room cost. There should be an easier way to apply the funds. Very minimal complaint. Loved the hotel and location

We stayed in the Best Western for the US womens soccer game. The location was great. The hotel was very clean. The staff was amazing and helpful. We will stay there again if we ever go back to Chicago

Well equiped rooms with good sleeping comfort. Everything is good but not superb. Very good situated in front of the Grant Park and five minutes walk to the the next train station. Next time I will stay again at this hotel.

This budget hotel is a great option for those wanting to stay near Grant Park but can't afford some of the higher-end locations further up Michigan Ave. I said "becoming great" because they are currently remodeling. Expect some dust. We didn't hear much noise. Our room was an older one but still nice. The hallways and elevators are cramped but the rooms are comparatively spacious. There's an adjoining restaurant, but you might be better off walking around the corner to Yolk (similar prices, better food). The hotel is conveniently located near the Roosevelt CTA station where you can take the Orange Line to Midway Airport and the Red Line to Wrigley Field.

In chicago for a long weekend, we arrived just after noon and they got us right into our room, that is comfortable and great view. Asked for more pillows and they brought them right up. Friendly helpful staff, great location.

Staff at this hotel was awesome. Comfortable beds and nice linens. Unfortunately, the hotel is shabby and in need of an upgrade. Peeling paint in hallways and doors. No USB ports in room. No furniture other than bed, desk and desk chair. Air conditioner very loud. No dinner options or room service at the hotel, but there are plenty of dining options within walking distance. Location is very good.

If you are looking for a great place to stay close to walking distance attractions, this is a place for you. We attended a soccer event at Soldier Field and was an unforgettable experience renting bikes and rode down each park. We took a tour bus, hop on hop off, and continue our journey touring all the coast of Chicago.

Hotel is under-going remodel, so not in the best condition at the moment. However, no breakfast service and expensive to park a car. Best thing going for this hotel is cost compared to high end hotels nearby and proximity to Lake Michigan (pretty much across the street).

We chose this hotel based on its proximity to the Shedd Aquarium. The hotel is nice, however it was under renovations at the time we were there which is only a minor inconvenience. The price was right for the hotel and was lower than most. I often stay at Best Western hotels but was a little saddened by the fact that there was no breakfast included. I honestly can't think of the last time I stayed at a BW with no breakfast included :( The room was very small. In fact it was hard to get around the bed when entering the room. It was not really set up for two beds but the did it anyway. The worst part of the hotel is the noise. We were on the 8th floor but felt like we were sleeping on the street. We could hear everything that went on outside the hotel. From the cars racing up and down the street to the conversations people were having on the street. Also the walls are paper thin. We had to deal with the hearing our neighbours all night long!!! Be careful if you are a light sleeper or if you have young kids that need their sleep!!

We stayed there for 3 nights, peoplenat the front desk don't help at all, even they are pretty rude. Not even eye contact when we ask for anything. The room was nice. There's a restaurant linked to the hotel where you can have breakfast. We went the first day and there were three ladies serving, I couldn't tell who of them was more rude We waited more than 45 minutes just to have 3 coffees (there were six of us) . I claimed them several times with no success even they made me a face, of course they were kidding us. When we were sick and tired of waiting we paid for the three coffees and left without having breakfast. The location was good but if I go back to Chicago, for sure I'll go to another hotel. victor

This property is located within walking distance to many attractions and activities in downtown Chicago. We find it to be more affordable and still close to SAIC (where our daughter attends school) than some of the "swankier" hotels that are closer to the school. The staff is TOP NOTCH, it is clean, nicely appointed, (the rooms with a lake view are wonderful!), and has a good restaurant (again, with a fantastic wait staff). Great bang for the buck - we stay here exclusively when in Chicago.

WE felt this location was perfect right across the road from Grant Park. Public transport easy to negotiate to anywhere, Uber and Taxi always close by. We did request a room with a view if possible for our first visit to Chicago and we were absolutely pleased with our room and view. Staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful. There was some minor disruption in the lobby area for repairs but not a problem for us.

It was a great location for us for what we had planned. But they said they didn't have parking because we had a motorcycle and did know anywhere Secure for us to park it. And said nothing about remolding and that the bar was closed. So that was a downer.

Very clean, but small rooms. Little room to walk around beds. Double beds were too small for 2 adults. No fridge, but there was a piece of furniture there for one, which was awkward considering the small space of the room. Bathroom was on the small side too, but it was very clean & the shower was great. Great location for getting to the Shedd & Field and up & down Michigan Ave. Right next to Grant Park so view of rooms was more than just city buildings. Short walk to L train stop to/from Midway Airport. Staff was very kind and helpful. Convenience Store right next door to hotel. If you are on a budget with 2-3 people and want to visit the museums, this is the place to stay.

This place is barebones. Amenities include an ice machine on some floors and a luggage cart. No mini-fridge. No access to a microwave. No restaurant. If you go in knowing that, this place is decent for the price. The location is the best part. Close to the Metra, El, Trader Joes, restaurants, parks, museums. The rooms are smaller and not pristine. Valet is expensive. Spot hero a garge close by and walk everywhere. The beds are comfortable and the room was clean. My ac quit working and was fixed within 15 mins. I was traveling to Chicago for the first time with my children and we had a great time. From our room we got a view of the Willis tower and got to see fireworks over Navy Pier. We walked to the musuems everyday and it took about 10 mins. The Metra is 5 mins walk and that goes to the Museum of Science and Industry. While access to a microwave would have save me a some good money, the location and every single staff member made this place worth it.

I was in town for a couple days on business and chose to stay at the Best Western Grant Park Hotel because of its convenient location. It was only a short walk to see the Buckingham Fountain and the lakefront trail, both of which offered a view of the evening fireworks at Navy Pier. As for the hotel itself, I found the staff at the front desk to be extremely friendly and helpful. There were some renovations ongoing in the lobby area, but nothing too disruptive. My room on the 8th floor was clean and pretty much what I expected. The A/C worked good and wasn't too loud. I heard a little noise from the street, but nothing that would keep me awake at night. I plan on staying here again in the future.

We arrived yesterday for our 1 week stay in Chicago. Booked the hotel for its location, close to parks and other attractions. Did not know it is under renovation. Room is ok, yes, decor and amenities are dated. Everything is clean. Only thing is there is only 1 chair for the desk, no other chair or sofa or couch to sit on. Very weird, for it is very uncomfortable to sit on the bed. Called Guest Services, but was told they can't provide another chair. Escalated to manager, get her to provide chair the next day. Even worse - no hot water, in the middle of shower. Was told that pipe broken, rooms on our floor are all affected. Cancel your reservations if you can.

Great place to stay if attending an event at Soldier Field. Hotel is working on updating and has come a long way since our first stay about 7 years ago. All staff is very friendly. I would recommend Best Western Grant Park when staying in Chicago as it is close to great activities in Chicago.

Very nice hotel with a great location across from park, within walking distance to The Bean, Riverfront and alot of resturants and bars. Offers valet parking that extends into the following day as well as luggage storeage while site-seeing after we checked out.

Nice clean rooms, a good size with comfortable bedding. Coffee maker, hair dryer, fridge ironing board and nice quality soap and shampoo. The rooms looked freshly renovated with a modern feel. Not very quite, typical for a city hotel, but placing the continuous fan on the heater/AC unit on high provides enough white noise for a restful sleep. The entry door to the room had a 1 inch gap, letting light in, but a rolled up towel took care of that. The window treatments provided ample darkening. The check in check out was quick, simple with friendly staff. Free WiFi was good, as was the many available channels on the large lcd TV. Loved the fact that the tv remote is clean, and built for a easy cleaning. I attended a convention at McCormick and it was a short walk to the direct train or the shuttle at the major hotel 1 block north of the Best Western. I felt safe in the area around the university and on the corner of Michigan Avenue. In fact, I walked to the north river for a nighttime architecture cruise, and walked back at 1030pm, fealing totally safe. Love the fact it is close to museums and Grant Park. You can't go wrong with this hotel, if you are on a budget or are looking to experience everything downtown Chicago has to offer.

False advertising. No Room service for food after 11am like advertised. No shuttle service by the hotel like advertised. This place is way overpriced for what it says it has to offer and just lies to you to get you here. They offered nothing in return after complaints about the false advertising. The place is a dump and a scam. I'd rather spend a little more than my $230 a night and get a better hotel than this piece. No thanks Best Western Grant. The only thing you offered was distance to our concert venue.

My fiancé and I were very satisfied ! very welcoming and clean the breakfast in the morning was good we will be back hopefully soon Thanks again for going over our expectations we will bring the kids next time on vacation with us.

Although remodeling, the hotel was easy to navigate, prime location, rooms clean, staff froendly and accommodating Steps away from grant park, as well as local restaurants bars and grocery For the price i paid i definitely got a steal

This is the second time we've stayed at the BW Grant Park Hotel and both times, we've enjoyed the staff, the cleanliness of the rooms and the location as it's close to many restaurants and bars but most importantly for us, the Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island. We will definitely use this hotel again.

My family and I stayed here 2 nights for Taste of Chicago and sightseeing. I was worried because it was the last available room in the area. But I was pleasantly surprised. Every employee we encountered was so helpful, the location is super convenient, the room was clean and comfortable. Staying here made traveling with the little ones super easy. I would definitely come back.

It was the perfect location for all of our activities planned. We were within walking distance of busy about everything. The hotel was exactly what i needed to catch some rest before heading back out to enjoy the museum campus. Clean, comfortable and the front desk staff were helpful!

Our family stayed at the Best Western Hotel Grant Park while I attended a meeting Memorial Day weekend. Mei's Kitchen was great. The service was top notch. Lila went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our experience dining with them. We dined there multiple times during our visit. My husband really enjoyed the veggie burger. The mushroom flatbread was awesome. We wish her the best! And look forward to dining at Mei's Kitchen the next time we are in Chicago.

Good location Small, old, rooms No refrigerator even though I asked several times prior to coming and stayed for 2 weeks. Asked again at check in. And again during my stay. Was told as soon as possible which never happened. Check in was messed up. Got in close to 1 am and met with a unfriendly desk clerk

I spent a few days in Chicago last week working at the Field Museum. This hotel was in a wonderful location - no more than a beautiful ten-minute walk through Grant Park to the museum campus. The hotel itself won't dazzle with decor, but it is clean and comfortable, and the people working there were especially pleasant and competent. A word of advice: for breakfast, skip the restaurant on the ground floor that's not really a part of the hotel. I tried it one morning; the service was bad and the food worse. Go around the corner to Yolk. But I would stay at this place again any time I was going to be working in or around that area!

Most hotels in downtown Chicago start at $350+ per night, plus approx. $50 for parking in summer. We booked this room (with a partial view of Grant Park) for considerably less. The building is older, rooms are small-ish but clean and well appointed with renovated bathrooms. We took advantage of their valet parking and left our bags and the car there all day while we explored Grant Park, the Loop, & Magnificent Mile on foot (no additional charge if you check out your car before 7pm). The rooftop area was under construction, but look forward to enjoying that next time, too.

I stayed at the Best Western Grant Park from June 28-July 1 and I would highly reccomend it. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the location was perfect. It was walking distance from many attractions and provided easy access to transit. Parking was also close by. The staff were great. They were helpful and welcoming. They were helpful in suggesting places to eat and things to see and were always pleasant to interact with. I would certainly stay at this hotel again.

Good value for location and comfort. Elevators are tiny, but operable. Friendly staff that we're accommodating. Will hold your luggage if room is not available yet. Near decent restaurants. Grant Park is right outside the door

We spent 2 nights at this hotel as a family of 5. The room was fine, if a little tired - and the bathroom was great with a powerful shower. The only issue we had with the room was that as there were 5 of us we used the pull out sofa bed and it wasn't very comfortable - the other beds were great though! The staff at this hotel were all very friendly and helpful, calling us taxis and directing me to some great pizza places etc. All in all an enjoyable stay in a nice hotel which is in a fantastic position to enjoy this amazing city. As a family of 5 it is difficult to find an hotel that can accommodate us and this fit the bill and was very reasonably priced. It looks like it's currently undergoing a facelift - I'm sure when that's done it'll be amazing!!!!

This hotel is in bad need of a facelift. Staff badly needs training on customer service and being attentive to guest coplaints and concerns. I am a frequent raveler, but I would not stay here for the price, as there are several OTHER hotels in the area which are nicet and cmparable in price, wih better service.

Very pleased with our stay. Very convenient to transportation and restaurants. Just across from lakefront park. Were able to walk to Buckingham Fountain and museums. Could use a safety bar in the tub. Nothing elegant, but we don't spend much time in the hotel. Everything worked and was clean.

Great for an affordable no-frills stay, which was all we needed. We spent most of the trip out in the city so we didn't want to blow our budget on a hotel room. Rooms are smaller, amenities are basic, but all was clean and the staff was friendly and responsive. If you're looking for a cheaper place to stay in the city and aren't fussy about a place you only sleep in, book here!

Arrived early afternoon after a long flight. Check in was easy and the staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was adequate, the bathroom very small, and no wardrobe, just a rail! (Plenty of other storage space though)! Also the walls are thin, we could hear the guy next door to us coughing all night. That said, it was very clean, and these were only little niggles, not problems!! The hotel is in a great location for visiting the museums and parks.

My granddaughter & I stayed for 4 nights and have no complaints about this hotel. We walked to the Skydeck at Willis (Sears) Tower, Grant Park, and Shedd Aquarium. It is quiet, clean, and comfortable with free wi-fi - something that not all Chicago hotels offer. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful with directions. I would stay here again and highly recommend it.

Our first night was so relaxing. After a long haul flight from Manchester to London, then onto Chicago, we checked in around 6pm. That was midnight back home. We had a quick small meal and retired about 9pm. 4am and the noise outside was really noisy. It seems the garbage trucks wher emptying the bins that were below and just round the corner from our room. When we came down to the lobby to go out for breakfast, we asked the receptionist if there was a quieter room that we could move to, they said that it was possible and we should leave our luggage at reception,and they would move them for us. Thank you to all the staff, who where very friendly and helpful.

For the cost this Best Western was very good!! Clean & very good service. As a visitor to the US, I was pleasantly surprised at the outward appearance of the building. The hallyways to the rooms are average, but the rooms were clean and very comfortable.

Overall everything was perfect, friendly staff very responsive also when requesting for a Taxi, located at South Michigan Ave where you can take a walk very safely and lots of stores to the North side. Definitively will book again.

The start of the stay to the end of the stay was all awesome! Perfect location to public transit, museums, Michigan ave, parks etc. the service at the front desk was just amazing. Everyone was unbelievably nice and overly willing to help with anything. The rooms were extremely clean with a comfortable bed and the WiFi was extremely quick. I would absolutely recommend this hotel

From the very friendly and helpful staff to the fantastic views of Grant Park this hotel had it all. The room was large and spacious and very comfortable. The upgrade to the corner room was worth it as the views were great, we even watched the fireworks from the room.

We live in the northern suburbs but needed to be in the city very early to be at graduation. Stayed overnight and there was a large conference in the city so hotels were charging premium prices. This hotel was okay, nothing fancy but a relatively decent place to stay the night. They were very accommodating about checking and holding our bags before check-in and after checkout while we were at the graduation.

On the whole, this is a good hotel and is in an ideal location. However, we noticed ants in our room over the course of our 3-night stay. This was just the odd one at first but on the last night we woke up to multiple over the desk/drawers. I did not have time to raise this to the staff on checking out, but I have seen other reviews of similar problems.

Chose this hotel because I love spas. The spa was meant to be open from 7am but apparently the manager had the keys and she didn't arrive until 9.30am. The staff were super unhepful with this and some other issues. Overpriced.

Service was amazing. Breakfast was very good. Staff was very attentive. Rooms were nicely done. We enjoyed our stay over Memorial Day weekend and centrally locates to museums, park, and lakeshore. Definitely will come back.

Good location, staff was excellent, very caring, very attentive, always asking how they can help. The only criticism I would say is to post when the restaurant is open not just when the cafe is. The sign in the elevator & on the website said 2pm-10 pm but really can't eat in the restaurant until 5 pm (at least on a Wednesday/Thursday of my stay). Would definitely stay here again if the rate remains reasonable/budget-friendly.

Nice hotel good location but will never use this hotel again with the outrageous cost per night to park a vehicle. Do they think you walk there? What a racket to charge you that much and not tell you up front when you book the hotel that they charge to park a car per night and the crazy amount your just blindsided with the cost when it's already to late and you are there.

This hotel is in a great location.it has a great view, and is beautiful. The staff go out of their way to help and are very friendly. Our room was beautiful, they gVe us an upgrade without asking. We will stay here on our next visit to Chicago.

The staff was pleasant and the room was clean but a bit dated. TV was working and beds were comfortable. Good shower pressure. They offer breakfast at the restaurant next door which seemed nice but we did not eat there. It was convenient to the museum section and the CTA system.

I honestly have nothing but good things to say about my visit. Check in was fast, easy and very pleasant. The receptionist even showed us everywhere to go on the map. And when I misplaced my parking ticket in the lobby, the manager walked over to the parking garage to get my name and then called my room and my cell to make sure I got my ticket back. This was truly a five star experience and the staff should all be very proud of the business they are running. Thank you for helping make my visit to Chicago amazing!

This hotel have really Good food and affordable for the area. Our server Kevin was kind and fast. All around, a good experience. The front desk help us on everything and the employees make you feel welcome.

Had dinner at the Mei's Kitchen and Lila was our server. She was very pleasant and attentive. She made our time there so relaxing and so enjoyable. Lila treated my sister and I like we were family. We had an excellent meal and some wonderful conversations. Thank you Lila.

Front desk staff was very friendly, room was clean and well put together. They gave me a courtesy call after about an hour after check in, which was unexpected - but nice! I would stay here again when I'm back visiting Chicago.

We had to park our luggage for a short period of time and the place we originally reserved failed us. We were nearby the hotel and decided to eat in its enclosed Mei's Kitchen. We met Lila, the supervisor and asked her for help with our luggage. Not only we enjoyed the delicious breakfast but also were able to find a temporary place for our luggage there! Our complements to Chef, Lila, staff and the hotel manager for helping us out! Their kindness and consideration made our trip memorably blessed!

We stayed here for the location near Soldier Stadium. It is a short 15 minute walk from the hotel. There were plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, and drug stores within 2 blocks. It's across from Grant Park and had a view of the lake. the hotel was downtown so there was plenty of honking and city noises, but that will be anywhere you stay downtown. Our room did not have a microwave or refrigerator. Our check in experience was excellent! Any interaction with the front desk was very friendly. The valet was super courteous and helpful with directions. The housekeeping staff both days were super friendly as we walked by them. The customer service is what will make us return!

After a smooth check-in, we went to our lake-view room and enjoyed a spectacular view of Grant Park and Lake Michigan. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The lobby staff referred us to a good restaurant within walking distance for dinner. It was a treat!

The staff is caring and the location is excelent! Walking distance from the Museums campus. Beautiful park across the street. With a 3 day ticket we can get anywhere by bus, easy and with a view which I prefered doing.

Near park and public transportation. Reception was nice. The hotel look old , including the electronic devices. Cleanliness of air conditioner was poor. I think this place is below standard of Best Western Hotel.

I called first to check about parking, the lady I talked to said it was additional 40 dollars, so I book the room that included parking for $145, but when we checked in the parking was NOT included in the reservation & charged us additional $55.00 to park are car! NOT $40.00

You cannot beat this location if you're planning on visiting the museum campus. Everything was within walking distance which was awesome and we had a lake view room which was nice. But we had ants EVERYWHERE in our room - not exactly nice to wake up to them in your bed, and the walls were PAPER THIN. Good thing our phones had sound apps on them so that we could drown out the guy with issues next door. They don't offer a continental breakfast but there's a couple of excellent breakfast options around. So all in all, the hotel served its purpose, but there is definitely room for improvement.

When in the US I always try to stay in a BW hotel as they are always great quality This place is no exception Amazing location. Right on Michigan Avenue overlooking the park, Lake Michigan and the city If you have an option to ask, choose room 926 It is a corner room with huge windows and great views. Can be a tiny bit noisy because of the heating system but not to much to bother Check in was easy and quick. I arrived early and the room was not ready, they were kind enough to store my luggage in the meantime. The room was clean and comfy The bed was amazing and I had a great sleep Usual amenities, coffe/tea maker, safe, TV etc Usual stuff There is no breakfast but plenty of places around. Although the hotel was going through some renovations in the lobby, it was very clean. The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. The hotel is close to the red line which took us everywhere we needed to go. Would definitely stay again.

Really close to museum campus and easily walkable to magnificent mile, 360 Chicago and skydeck. We also walked to the Pier but that was far.

Good hotel at the south end of Grant Park. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Subway and CTA busses are just around the corner. In a quiet neighbourhood but just a short walk / few blocks from downtown. Perfect base to explore Chicago.

From the moment we entered the hotel we were treat with respect. I was traveling with my 3 daughters and they felt safe. Great location to Shedds aquarium, museums, and shopping down town. The staff was very helpful with recommendations for meals and entertainment. We will be going back again!!

We were pleased with our stay at Best Western Grant Park Hotel. It was clean, comfortable, quiet and close to the museums that we wanted to visit. The staff were very nice and the room rate was reasonable. Restaurants and public transportation are all close.

Lovely hotel, very convenient to everything. The staff was kind and helpful. Beware of $52/night parking costs and the fitness room with broken equipment - like actually falling apart. If you don't need any of that - this is a great spot to get to restaurants and the museums. On warmer days, you could even walk.

Best Western Grant Park is a super hotel with an excellent location for those wanting to explore the Chicago lakefront. Rooms are spacious and breakfast in the restaurant is excellent. We really liked the attentiveness of the staff.,

My visit to chicago was already a bad one ,but the best western and there staff . Definitely made the trip a little better for me.i definitely will stay here the next time iam in town . The window view of downtown was also very nice.

My spouse and I really like the Hotel and have spent a weekend there once a month, over the last few months.We were really impressed by the service provided by Tahrah who works at the restaurant, she was not only the Bartender, but the Server and Order Taker. We couldn't understand why a business the size of this place with a bar, didn't have wait staff. Tahrah remained calm, professional and very pleasant the (2 days) we went for happy hour while spending the weekend at the Hotel. In my opinion Tahrah deserves a raise and and some assistance! We felt uncomfortable watching her run from the bar, to tables, to the kitchen, and all while customers continued coming in, and she was just so pleasant...it was actually very sad to think the company thinks so little of staff and customers. I trust my review is sent to the highest level as this has to change ASAP.

This is a solid 3-star hotel. It's decent, but showing its age - carpet, furnishings, beds, etc. demonstrated long-term wear and tear. However, it is perfectly suitable for a family, as their suite has 2 beds and a sofabed, which is great. The location is fantastic, within walking distance of museums and restaurants. The staff, from the valet on up, was very friendly and professional. We asked for a quiet room and got it. If you need a reasonably-priced, no-frills room to lay your head after a long day visiting Chicago sites, it's definitely adequate. If you're expecting the Ritz, you best lower your expectations or find something else.

This was a nice hotel, especially the hotel room we stayed in. It has a comfortable lobby and the room was nicely clean and comfortable too. I felt safe and the hotel room had a nice modern take to it. The staff members were very nice and accommodating too. Due to a conference held in the hotel, we had to wait for a hotel room to be available to us, which it was in 2 hours, but it was no problem to us because we went to Grant Park while waiting. They held our bags while we went to explore and wait. Once they called us to say our hotel room was available, the kind lady on the phone told us we can come anytime to pick up our hotel keys. The staff members gave us a lot of insightful advice too regarding places to see and about the CTA buses. Had a great experience from the moment we walked through the doors. Octavio greeted us at the counter and his friendly demeanor set a great tone for our whole visit. The value for the dollars spent were much higher than any other time I stayed in Chicago.

I was not stoked about staying at a Best Western, as I rather have stayed at the Hilton where our conference was taking place. However, the rooms at the Hilton sold out and this was the closest hotel to the conference. Over the phone, the staff seemed rather curt, and not really interested in helping us. However, once we arrived at the hotel, I was more than impressed with the friendliness of all the staff and the cleanliness of the common areas, and our rooms. Once our limo arrived at the hotel, the doormen immediately gathered a cart to help us unload. He was there every morning with a smile on his face ready to greet us. The front desk staff was friendly and did not hesitate to answer our questions. We found ourselves sharing an elevator with management and they were so helpful and eager to share tips on Chicago with us. Housekeeping always had our room nice and tidy by the time we returned. I honestly felt like I was staying at the HIlton without paying the cost. Do they have the most updated furnishings in the rooms? No, but the bed was extremely comfortable and everything was clean and smelled great. I rather have furniture that is a year or two old with excellent customer service, than the latest furnishings and rude employees. I will stay at this hotel over and over again. The attached restaurant was also quite a surprise. We spent a lot of money visiting the top restaurants around the hotel, and the hotel restaurant was were we ate the best food.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Building is a little dated on the outside but my room was very modern looking. I had a fridge and microwave and I could see the Shedd aquarium through my window. The location is great - easy walk to museum campus, good food around each corner and a Trader Joe's on the other side of the block. I didn't use the valet parking but there was a reasonably price garage right around the corner. I would recommend this hotel!

The hotel is a GREAT location. However, we were disappointed in the room itself. It's in desperate need of remodel. The heating unit wasn't regulated, so to control the temp we had to turn off and on. No refrigerator in room. The window were very poor and actually froze over with ice on the inside. And the windows had a lever to open them. We were on the 9th floor. Scary when traveling with kids. We wouldn't stay here again with kids. Staff was very nice.

We enjoyed our stay here. It has a great location to what we were doing that day and parking was just around the corner. Check in took less than 5 minutes and we were checked out before we even got downstairs in the morning! Will definitely recommend. Only complaint is that the phone in the room was broken so I could not call down to the front desk. The rooms were very clean and comfortable!

Really lovely check in staff, they let us check in a few hours early as our room was available. Also gave us a discount voucher for pizza! :-) The area is OK - for someone not used to the area you might think it's a little ‘rough' but a few blocks up and you're in the city centre. I would stay here again and I felt completely safe. The room had a heater due to the crazy coldness and the windows got extremely cold! Overall I enjoyed my stay and the staff were great. Thanks

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. I did a lot of research and read many reviews before selecting this hotel so I knew what to expect. I requested to be away from the elevator, to have a refrigerator and to be on the highest floor as possible facing the lake. They came through with all my requests as well as a microwave and corner room with an amazing view. The room was a good size with a large bathroom. The set up of the room also amade for a quieter experience than I have had in others. We stayed 5 days and received lots of towels, pillows and extra blanket when needed from a very pleasant staff. The only thing missing was counter space in the bathroom but I knew that in advance so I wasn't surprised. The hotel was clean and actually smelled nice. It was close to many attractions where we could just walk and save a fare. We would definitely stay here again.

Check-in was immediate upon arrival front desk was very helpful answering questions and concerns. Room was clean and spacious. The Hotel was undergoing renovations but didn't impede or disrupt my visit. Wonderful restuarant located next to the main lobby with great breakfast. Lila & Johnny were very nice and courteous during my 6 day stay. Food was awesome I had the French toast 3days in a row :0) Very close to restaurants,convenience stores,subway!!

Staff was incredibly congenial as we checked in. They were in good spirits even as the property deals with pipe issues from the polar vortex the last couple weeks. This hotel has done all the updating possible without a major overhaul, given the age of the building. We were disappointed with the amount of road noise we experienced in our room on the top floor. We also had to put a towel along the bottom of the room door, as there was a pretty decent size gap between door and floor. Would definitely stay again. It's a great price for the location. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Close to Metra stations and bus line.

The wife and I were in Chicago for her birthday. The front desk people were awesome got us checked in quickly and took care of the valet parking. They had some great recommendations for entertainment and dining. Would stay there again!!

I was in Chicago for the first time alone. Upon arrival, the check-in desk made me feel extremely welcome. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in! Nice distance from downtown with convenient ride-share Uber and Lyft pickup right outside, so there is no walking to your ride. Recommend staying here!

My husband, our 6 month old, and I are staying at the best western for 3 days on a small family trip. The cafe has delicious food and a great staff. We were greeted by Barbara, and had jason as our server. So warm and welcoming. We will definitely be back!!!

Great place to stay. Able to walk to nearly everything. Also convenient to all public transportation. Super great staff at the BW GPH! Courtney, at the front desk, was especially wonderful. The recent weather gave them so difficulties, but they rose above the issues and made our stay incredible.

I came in for my nieces Graduation from Columbia College. This hotel was basic but had all the amenities that we needed. The room was clean and the view was fabulous. The rooms also have great modern features, and very comfortable beds. It was just a few blocks from the College, and we were able to be in the inner City. The staff was great and the food was AWESOME. We never had to ask for anything, everything was at our fingertips. Thanks again for easing our minds and helping us to enjoy the Graduation worry free. Would highly recommend to anyone that is looking to be in the downtown area, but not in the hustle of the big city.

The snow was falling, the rooms warm and delightful. Beds soft and comfortable, and the American political news on TV... Unbearable. This hotel is in a great spot, has wonderful staff and great rooms. I'm totally satisfied. Lila and Kevin in the restaurant were A dream. Super friendly, great service and a shout out to the chef, unusually high quality food. I particularly appreciated the high calibre vegetables, and for once food not lathered in suger and unhealthy additives. Big thumbs up from this Australia's Ian traveller. Will stay again.

A great location in the south loop, close to transport lines and a lively area. Both room and bathroom are big, great value for money! Has coffee machine, we also got a fridge and microwave. They have a good restaurant too, we had a great breakfast here, and great service from a guy called Kevin. We'll definitely return!

Wow my stay here exceeded my expectations- staff is SO friendly, hotel room was immaculately clean! No issues whatsoever . They held our bags for us. Breakfast at the restaurant adjacent to it was delicious- none of that hotel food stuff. Real good food. Hotel is central to everything in Chicago- just a few steps from Grant Park, the Art Institute. I loved my stay and hope to be back again.

So we were booked to stay two nights at this hotel, but only ended up staying one night because of a schedule conflict and needing to be in Indianapolis the day after the first night. Unfortunately, because I booked on Orbitz/Expedia, they were unable to refund the cancelled second night, but they did seem willing, had I booked directly with them, that was nice. The manager, Octavio, seemed to feel sorry for me and gave me a rare discount on their valet parking service, which was very nice. The hotel is old, but this is typical of downtown Chicago and is what it is, though the rooms and lobby had obviously been remodeled at some point. We chose this hotel because of its price and walking distance to Shedd Aquarium. There are also plenty of restaurants to eat at in walking distance and it felt like a safe location We only ate at their restaurant once, breakfast, and we had a server named Kevin! He was very polite and personable and took care of us. Between him and the food, we had a great experience and would recommend it! Ask for him though! Room 821 needs to attention to their windows/sill area. All in all a good stay. There is a 24 hr. pharmacy a block and a half away if you need that! We had a very sick child that evening and I was able to run to Jewel Pharmacy at 2am to get Children's Motrin!

Can't beat the price for a "downtown" Chicago hotel. Great location, next to Grant Park, train line, restaraunts, shops, cheap street parking, cheap early bird garage parking nearby, minutes from Miracle Mile. Staff was GREAT as well!

Waiter at hotel restaurant was very personable. Great service. Food was good, and staff was very accommodating. Wait staff had a lot of personality which made the meal even better. Would recommend....

Stayed here for four nights in December with my wife. We stayed in a king room which was very clean and spacious and had all the basic amenities. Other than staying in the room at night we didn't spend much time in the hotel, there was little else to use there. They have a cafe/bar attached to the hotel but didn't really use this. It is a few minutes walk from Roosevelt subway station which is very handy when we wanted to pop back to the hotel on a day out. It is only a few stops from the Loop and where the main attractions are. The hotel is located south of the main centre and is away from the busy Chicago hustle and bustle, but there are still plenty of bars/cafes in the area, it is also right next to Grant Park, Museum Campus and Soldier Field stadium. If you want to be right in the centre and have a short walk to everything I would say this hotel isn't for you but if you're away happy being just outside with a longer walk or subway ride then this hotel is ideal. We didn't pay very much to stay here and was very good value for money. Staff were all very nice and helpful too.

We stayed at this hotel while visiting Field museum and Shedd Aquarium, it was less than 15 minutes walk. Hotel rates were great, it's an older hotel but overall well kept and clean. Valet parking was $52 per day but low hotel prices made up for it.

Great proximity to Soldier Field. It is one of the remaining older buildings adjacent to Grant Park and kind of run down looking from the outside. Totally belies the quality a rooms inside. Nothing cheap like I expected. Great service, nice amenities, very comfortable accommodations. Nice surprise for the cost.

I thought the location was excellent as I was near the park with acces to museums, planetarium, water taxis etc. Room was a bit tired but clean with helpful staff and a microwave in the room was useful

I stayed here when I traveled to Chicago for a concert. The hotel is really close to a lot of places I walked to the bean, grant park, huntington bank pavillion and the dock from there. The location is great, the staff is really nice and the rooms are pretty comfortable. I wasn't able to eat at the restaurant because I only stayed for two nights, and one of those I spent at the concert. Price was really afordable since they are regularly offering low prices if you make your reservation with enough anticipation. I payed 40 dollars a night. Overall a great hotel.

First time staying at this hotel and I found the entire staff from the desk clerk and bell hops to the restaurant go above and beyond other hotels in taking care of their customers . I have stayed at many other Best Western Hotels over the years but I found the staff at this hotel to be the most friendly, helpful and professional of them all.The location of this hotel is perfect and within walking distance to the museums and Soldier Field.

Good location in Chicago, but basic amenities. The room seemed clean. No refrigerator or table, cramped room. The hotel is older and seems to have been patched up to an average room. You can see the wear and tear if you look for it. The rooms have little sound proofing as you can hear the outdoor noise no problem. Also, be prepared if you have neighbors on either side of your room you may hear every word they are saying. I would rank the hotel closer to a budget motel and not to the level of what I would see Best Western at. But you also have to consider you are in Chicago and the price for other hotels in the area from what I've seen was much higher. If I went back I would probably pay a bit more for something a little nicer, but if you are on a budget it wasn't a bad place either.

I Gas a very nice room with lakeview. Friendly staff with excellent service. Good Price! I stayed for 5 days to watch the Bulls and the Bears. L-train-Station nearby. And you van reach the Soldier Field by foot.

I enjoyed lovely views of the park and in a small but clean and comfortable room with a mini fridge and microwave. The bed was comfortable and I slept well but for the occasional street noise which is unavoidable in a corner room with such large windows, so I'm not complaining!It is an older hotel, so don't expect super luxury, but it's very well priced and has all the basics plus great staff, cleanliness and views! I would definitely stay again!

The rooms were always clean and the breakfast was really really nice. It was a pleasure staying at this Hotel. We had the same experience in Best Western Los Angeles. I highly recommend this place to anyone who will be dropping by at Chicago. It's a plus that it's near to a lot of tourist spots.

Nice roomy hotel with general amenities. It is a few minutes walk from Roosevelt train station. The hotel was clean and the staff are very friendly. There are several restaurants and cafes nearby. It is quiet and safe. Trader Joe's is round the corner.

This hotel was clean and stylish. The room was good size. Mattress cover caused the mattress to be noisy, but other than that was comfortable. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for great accommodations. Parking was expensive.

Great location and cheap but I will never stay here again.Tacky lobby, halls and rooms. Room smelled from very strong cleaning products. Heater is loud and inefficient.Restaurant is horrible. Gym is a joke.

The place is good value. As long as expectations are not for luxurious comforts, then expect a clean and decent enough room; really for the location it's quite good. My major complaint was that the HVAC unit a) didn't care what temperature I set it to, it just ran and ran on one setting, which was too cold to be there other than sleep (but for me when I slept it was fine) and b) was incredibly noisy when it was on.

I had one night in Chicago and chose this hotel for the location, in walking distance to museums and Millennium Park.The hotel could use some renovation, and my room was not as clean as I would have liked. The noise level was rather loud; I was awakened in the middle of the night by people talking in the hall. It was a decent hotel for the price though.

We were impressed with the willingness of the staff to be helpful. Special mention for manager Tracey, and Lila & Kevin in the kitchen . The room itself was falsely advertised on a different website. When asked, the manager politely asked me if I could show it to her so she could follow up on it. I did and without being asked, she just offered us free breakfast vouchers as a thank-you. Thankfully the room we got had a spectacular view. And we had a great stay! The breakfast staff were helpful and gave us tips on what to see in Chicago. Decent breakfast. A great and friendly start to the day. Thanks!

We were lucky to have chosen Chicago's BW Grand Hotel for nearby touring.Walking was so convenient and Mei's breakfast/dinner was so deightful we often lingered. We would hope to mention each individual who contributed as the quality was evident from the doormen Laredo and Fernando, and receptionists Bianca and ? greetings, the housekeepers efforts, and the energetic and jovial staff Tarah, Lisa, Lenisha, Mahallie, in Mei's Kitchen ... Barbara serves delicious hot chocolate to which she claims has “a cup of love”. Even the Wi-Fi password reflects the caring managements' philosophy.... they genuinely care and provide for an experience that ensures customer satisfaction and loyalty to return.

At the corner of Michigan Ave. and 11th St., this hotel is strategically situated in the South Loop within easy walking distance to various sites in the Museum Campus for the average person. It is also a 3 minute walk to Green, Red and Orange lines at the Roosevelt CTA station, and to the Metra Electric Museum Campus train station, and of course a number of bus lines are outside the door or just a short walk away, so access to the rest of the city is very convenient. In my case, I was also visiting the University of Chicago, and the public transit options to that destination were relatively easy. The price is perhaps reasonable for the location, but it still seemed relatively expensive for a Best Western property. The hotel and rooms themselves are of standard quality for the Best Western brand. They were clean, modern, and functional. There was a safe in my room. Wi-Fi operated well. There was no refrigerator or microwave. Noise could be a problem for the light sleeper. As noted elsewhere, the air conditioning/heating unit is quite audible when turned on, and the windows are single-paned, allowing for some street noise, particularly in the early morning when garbage trucks operate. On the first night of my 3 night visit, an extraordinary problem with noise woke me up at 5:30 am, though I am a heavy sleeper. It was caused by a member of the hotel's own staff continuously collecting ice from the machine across the hall from my room for 20 minutes. The hotel's response, or lack of it, is perhaps telling. I called the front desk to complain that this was unacceptable at such an early hour, and was told the manager was not yet in, but my complaint would be communicated. I later stopped by the front desk to re-iterate the complaint in person, and the staff were perfunctorily apologetic, but only responded again that my complaint would be passed to the manager. The disturbance did not occur again on subsequent nights, but I also did not receive any acknowledgment from hotel management until I raised the issue again at checkout. At that time, I finally met the manager who was polite and apologetic, but confessed that my prior complaints had not been communicated to him. After some negotiation, he agreed to reduce half the cost of the first night's stay and award some reward points, which I consider the very least that could have been done at that point. In sum, I have rated this hotel relatively poorly because its staff actively and inconsiderately caused loss of sleep and, equally importantly, because staff then did not respond to my multiple complaints until I reminded them at checkout. I would consider staying here again due to its excellent location, but would also caution travelers for whom hospitality is an important factor.

From the time we arrived till the time we left all staff made sure we we happy and comfortable during our stay. Loved the location for visiting the Shedd Aquarium and Millennium park. Room was clean and modern. Customer satisfaction is very high priority at this location. Something unfortunately rare to find these days.

Let's see where to start. It was dirty and cheap. Food was avaliable the first day but not on the second - the staff did not come in stated the front desk manager. I would skip this lace. The only thing I could say good is that it was on Michigan Avenue

I booked via expedia a room in that hotel for october 22 but my plans changed so I tried to cancel my reservation. Expedia asked me to call directly to the hotel as I choose a non refundable option. So I did call them and they didnt want to help at all. I even offered them to pay fees. They replied that the fees would be the total amount of the room... Really? Well, never going to book in a Best Western or any hotels affiliate to them anymore. In 2018, an hotel should be able to try to accommodate the client.

This isn't a fancy hotel, but rather a decent basic motel....which is exactly what my group wanted (A club at my community college wanted to attend a conference in Chicago.) All we wanted/needed was a clean quiet place to sleep for a night, and which was close to the conference, and that's what we got. The beds were comfortable, the rooms quiet and the staff efficient. A slight flaw was the lone elevator needing repairs on the day we left; this can happen to any hotel, and thankfully none of us were wheelchair-bound.

We had an overnight stay and due to AMTRAK we arrived more than 3 hours late. I called. TRACY greeted us warmly. The room was perfectly clean. Because we had a late departure we were able to place our luggage in a locked, secure storage. Wonderful stay and value. Breakfast was fine.

Hotel was fine. Went to a BTS concert at United Center with my daughter. Only took about ten minutes to get to United Center. Hotel could use a remodel, but was clean and the bed was comfortable. Parked around the corner on Wabash for $23 for 24 hours which was way cheaper than the hotel parking ($52). Plus it was nice because the parking was in/out. Would stay here again if we go to another event at United Center.

We stayed here because it seemed to be well situated. It was; close to the city centre but also to bus tops and train lines. Staff were friendly, rooms clean; breakfast in the collocated restaurant good. We came away delighted with our choice and very pleased with a modest bill for a six day stay.

They stuck me in a handicapped room for some reason. They said I'd requested it but I did not request it. The AC needed to be repaired and the handicapped shower set up let the water simply run all over the floor. The room was nice but those were a couple of very annoying things that I had to deal with. Staff was great. They responded, but can't give the place 5 stars when the water from the shower runs all over the bathroom floor due to a design flaw. They need shower curtains that don't hang outside the shower.

I stayed here for a few days and it was decent. The staff was nice, the lobby was clean and despite not having a fridge or microwave in your room they had it in the lobby. You can give your food to the staff and they will store it away in the fridge. A few things I didn't like about this hotel there was no hot water. It was lukewarm at best. If someone else in another room was taking a shower you were getting a cold shower. Also the walls are super thin you can hear someone in the next room coughing or walking around. This was not a big deal. But the doors didn't shut particularly in the bathroom. You can lock the door but it won't shut. And the door for your hotel room you had to slam it in order for it to shut. These were all minor things about the hotel but it still bothered me a little. The location is great and close to everything. I would still stay here again.

Great stay, we were really pleased with the hotel location, the staff and the restaurant. The staff were super courteous and helpful, always with a smile on. The restaurant is fantastic, and you know it is when people who are not staying in the hotel come in to eat there. Everything we ordered was prepared to perfection and the coffee was great too. We will definitely stay here again!

We booked double queen beds but it ended up with two single bed that sucks but the staff told us the room can fit up to four people however there Was only one bottle of shampoo and soap and it's clear that it's only for two people. There's no microwave nor fridge in the room which is super inconvenient. Bathroom is small and the bed is not a real bed it's only supported by four thin wood board that's terrible than every of the hotel I've stayed !!!

I have to admit that I'm a little bit of a hotel snob. Prices of hotels are comparable to car payments these days so for that type of money, I want to be impressed. The room is clean, but no extras. No refrigerator, microwave, and the tv kept spontaneously turning off every 5 minutes. The lobby is very plain, and the hallways on the room floors need a severe paint job. If you want clean, decent, 1 night in town place to stay, this place is for you, but there are other hotels down the street that are a lot fancier with better amenities for a few dollars more.

The location of this hotel was the only thing we liked about it because we could walk to the Shedd and Field Museum. But the room was disgustingly filthy, there is no pool, no continental breakfast. We had wet carpet in our room upon arrival and they offered us towels to put down on the floor but offered no room change or discount. It was loud, slamming doors and people talking at all hours. We got a coupon for a restaurant from the bell hop and the food was terrible at the recommended place. I would stay elsewhere if I go back.

The hotel is conveniently located to some great attractions in Grant Park like the Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium; these are within walking distance! It is also a short walk from the CTA Orange line which travels from Midway Airport to the Loop area. Many restaurants within walking distance too! Our corner room had a beautiful view facing Lake Michigan with wall-to-wall windows. Friendly staff, clean, comfortable beds and linen. Would stay again!

Love visiting the Best Western at Grant Park. Close to all great things to do in Chicago. Many great restaurants nearby to satisfy any craving. Love being just a few blocks away from the lake as well. Staff is always SUPER friendly!!

A perfectly functional hotel in the perfect location for walking to the Art Institute, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, etc. They were willing to stow our bags after checkout so we didn't have to lug them to the museums. I will definitely stay here again, and recommend it for its practicality, convenience, and courteous staff.

I found this hotel to be cheaper than most in the area I was looking, it was clean though room needs a little TLC, bed was comfy, only negative no fridge in room which I believe should be a given especially if providing Coffee/Tea etc. Staff were friendly and helpful. Did notice the lift took a long time for some reason, you could get breakfast next door, I recommend

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is in a great location to everything we had planned to do. Would stay here again without a doubt. We arrived very late due to our flight being delayed for five hours. We were tired and hungry. The night auditor and his co worker could not do enough for us. Our rooms were ready and they were great. In the morning we found that everything was within walking distance to where we needed to find the train, bus stores and restaurants. There was room construction going on one of the days, but that did not bother our stay in the least.

My friend and I stayed for 5 nights while visiting Chicago. The hotel wasn't anything fancy but suited our needs perfectly. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. I was also able to check in early after arriving on an early international flight which I really appreciated! It's a bit further out from the main sights (approx 20 min walk to the Bean/Millenium Park) but that also meant it was quieter, which we appreciated. The staff were also helpful in giving restaurant recommendations - Lou Malnati's was a great tip! We would definitely stay here again if returning to the city.

This hotel has a great location and friendly staff however the rooms are old and outdated.The guest rooms and hallways need work. The carpets were old and need replacing. The bathroom was updated and nice.

OK hotel, everything was fine except parking. Multiple people in line complained about valet, we were in line to mention the same thing but didn't say much since it was already mentioned. Didn't seem to do much about it. The couple we talked to missed a $200 trip because they failed to mention valet would take 30+ minutes, we experienced a similar timing issue. Good info to know before either choosing the hotel and needing valet or choosing to utilize valet with your vehicle.

This hotel met all our needs as a family of four visiting Chicago for the day who just needed a clean and comfortable place to rest our heads and shower. The location is across from Grant Park which is quieter and away from the hustle and bustle of Michigan Avenue and a quick walk from the Roosevelt station. It's about a 25 minute walk to Millennium Park. The rooms was pretty standard and met our needs, but I can't imagine staying more than a couple of days, as the space was pretty cramped. The bathroom had only one place to hang towels (not even a hook on the door) and would not have worked out well for the four of us for more than 1 day. The shower pressure is very strong (which I like) and cannot be adjusted. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel that will provide basic needs for clean and comfortable rooms, this is a great option.

For a 2.5 star hotel, this was surprisingly nice! The rooms and lobby were very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. And our 9th floor room had a partial view of the lake. There's no room service or bar and the lobby is small, but we didn't miss any of that with so many options nearby. We easily walked to Soldier Field for a concert. Location is excellent. We found the valet parking very easy too.

My son and I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel on our recent trip to Chicago. Yes, the hotel shows its age a bit, but our room was very clean and housekeeping was reliable. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was its biggest selling point. We were able to walk to the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, and Adler Planetarium and it was a short drive to the Museum of Science and Industry. (On a side note, I highly recommend getting the City Pass if you plan to go to all these museums). It was also just a couple blocks from the Big Bus Chicago stop, so we were able to use that for transportation and sight seeing one day. We went to breakfast each morning at the Yolk restaurant next door which was tasty with quick service, and I also highly recommend the nearby Eleven Diner -- great atmosphere and food. Overall, a great stay!

I valet parked my car for $52 only to have it robbed. There were no signs of forcible entry which leads me to the conclusion that the person that parked the car did not lock my vehicle. The hotel takes no responsibility for the stolen items in there and does not have an explanation of how this could have happened in their parking garage.

The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. The hotel is older and has tight hallways and small elevators. The bed was comfortable. For some reason the TV would switch all by itself to CNN on occasion. Housekeeping did a nice job on a daily basis. The hotel was fairly expensive, but less than other hotels in the area.

Across from Grant Park. Museum Campus, movie theater, Art Institute, Millinium Park, Soldier Field nearby. Lots of restaurants and bars in the area. Hotel newly remodeled. Friendly and helpful staff. Love staying here!

This hotel was super nice, it over looked Grant Park, close to shopping & restaurants. We stayed here for 4 nights for the first time this year, as The Essex hotel, where we normally stay, was closed. They did a great job making sure we had a room on the corner with a beautiful view of the park and lake. We stayed in a lakeview room, because not only did we want the view, but those rooms come with a refrigerator and microwave. Unlike the rest of the regular rooms. I have one complaint though, and it's a BIG ONE. We chose to use valet parking, as I trusted it more then public parking, and it was already lined up for my credit card to be charged before I found out about this. Anyway, we try to leave early when we leave Chicago to avoid traffic. When we went to get our car this morning at 4am, we couldn't as valet doesn't open until 7am. Getting our car in valet was a hassle, we waited outside for like 20 minutes after the front desk told us a guy would be back to help us unload. Eventually we got fed up, loaded our luggage ourselves, and the front desk had to wait by our car for us. Since this was such a hassle, no one told us that we wouldn't be able to leave when we wanted. It stated on a slip I signed valet was open from 7-10, but no where did it say we wouldn't be able to get our car during this time, and no one told us this verbally. It was just sign here, here, here, & here. Had we known we were going to be held captive, we would have checked out the night before. Now we're going to have to leave during rush hour, and it will take twice as long to get home. Glad we drove instead of flying, because we'd have been absolutely screwed. Hope this helps future guests at the Best Western on Michigan ave. (....also 7am?! Even when we stayed at the Essex it was 6am, and even though valet was closed they still had SOMEONE to get it for us. The man at the front desk was very polite and understanding, but he couldn't help us at all. I understand he is just doing his job, but I can't even imagine how many people miss their flight because of this ridiculous policy, especially during Lollapalooza. This all could have been avoided had they not been extremely understaffed during a huge nationwide festival.)

We stayed here due to its location to the Field Museum, the Adler Planetarium, and the Aquarium. It was a quick and safe walk. We are from a very small city and my concern for this was great- as I was traveling with my two young daughters and my 80 yo Grandma. We definitely valet parked the car and then didn't have to worry about it until we were leaving. We walked everywhere and had a blast. Waiting for our car took a little time but the service and hospitality was great. While our room and the elevators were cramped for us- it was never a problem.

room adequate (needed to ask for refrigerator [no additional charge] no microwave, pillows were too small, 15 minutes walking distance to Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum and most transit connections and only 3 minutes from South Shore and Metra lines. 5minutes from CTA elevated,. 5-10 minute walk to good-great restaurants. (restaurant in hotel only good for breakfast.

I had a superior room on the 8th floor with sea view. The view is simply spectacular and I often enjoyed it, also during the night. Unfortunately the room has a connecting door to the next room which did not shield the noise. I had a group of partying teenagers waking me up twice at 3 am and at 1 am the next day. Sleeping without ear plugs is impossible. There is also a lot of street noise. However, the room was very nice and spacious, with a fantastic bed (!!!) great cushions and a fantastic shower. The refrigerator was too cold (non adjustable) freezing my food. There was always coffee for the coffeemaker, which was nice. There was a but of a smell in the room and you could not open the windows. The air-conditioner was very effective, easy to use but loud. The location is optimal max. 10 min by foot from Roosevelt train station. I arrived by train from O'Hare airport without any traffic jam and for 5 US$. However, trains only leave from Terminal 2 and you need the Terminal transfer bus from international arrival terminal 5. There is a very nice Sushi Place (Niu) within 10 min north on Michigan Avenue! The park in front of the hotel is great to walk and easy to visit the museums and the stadion (careful noisy sports freaks).

We stayed 4 nights while in town for a conference. The hotel was very clean and decor was updated. Shower pressure was great though the bathroom was tiny. No fridge or microwave in the room, just a single serve coffee maker. There is a microwave in the lobby and vending machines on odd numbered floors. Location is within walking distance of good restaurants and parks and an easy Uber ride to most attractions and events. Friendly, helpful desk staff and doorman.

Checked in at Grant Park Hotel for 2 nights so my fiancé and I could explore the city. The hotel was simple and clean, which is all we needed. Our room had a nice view and is conveniently located on Michigan Avenue. Staff was friendly and more then helpful with anything asked of them. Also I highly recommend Mei's kitchen which is attached to the hotel. It is pricey but was well worth it. Thank you Best Western for making our visit to Chicago memorable.

I was here for 2 nights to attend a conference being held at McCormick place which is just under a mile away. Everything closet was already booked. The location of this was central to the conference and to get to restaurants and other attractions within the city. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly but it could definitely use some care and attention. The paint in he bathroom was peeling around the shower. If they took care of a few of those items, this would be rated much higher.

Very great location to city with an awesome view of Grant park. Average hotel as far as amenities and service. However, the hot water went out on Sunday at 1 am and up to when I checked out on Monday at 11 am; it was still off. They did offer to comp one full night of service. I would stay here again.

This hotel was close to Grant Park and The Field Museum. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. Everyone in our party commented on how comfortable the beds were. Our stay at this hotel was great.

This hotel is ideally located with walking distance to some great restaurants (Yolk and Aurelia's), Cloud Gate, Buckingham Fountain, Navy Pier, Magnificent Mile, and the beautiful downtown core. Five stars for cleanliness, but we could have used a couple more amenities (fridge and working safe). Overall quite good though!

This is the perfect small hotel near Grant Park and within walking distance of the Museum Campus. The hotel is older but updated and the beds were very comfortable. Room was very clean and housekeeping staff was very friendly. The park across the street is pretty as well as the walk to the museums. Easy access to most anything as there are water taxis at the museum campus and Uber/Lyft can easily find you at this hotel. Rooms were relatively quiet. Front desk staff were genuinely friendly. This is a great hotel value for Chicago! Some VERY good breakfast restaurants within easy walking distance as well. Perfect for families visiting the museums.

Cannot be recommended. It was located close to city. But youngsters were fighting outside in the neighbourhood. The rooms were acceptable. The staff at the reception was horrible. Arrogant and lazy. As if they didn't care. We had to be at the airport at a certain time. We asked them the day before to get our car ready in good time because of the morning traffic. They didn't show any interest in helping us and we ended up being late at the airport. They are not worth their salary. Sorry, but that is my opinion

Location of hotel is nice just opposite to grant park, it's bit dated hotel. Room size for two double bed is very small, nearly no space to walk. Beds were comfortable but not two double beds , they are not more than one and a half bed , two adults cannot sleep on it. No fridge in room . Bathroom ok but bath tub having problems water drains very slowly this makes it difficult to take shower, towel quality good. Check in check out was very smooth. It's a family hotel with no frills but very costly as per the rates charged.

Clean, Convenient, and comfortable for about 1/2 the price of other downtown hotels. Right on Michigan Ave, Museum campus at your front door. Metra/South Shore station is across the street and the Green and Redline are within a 3 block walk. I highly recommend this hotel unless you like paying outrageous downtown hotel prices.

Very good rate for a downtown hotel. Located very close to the subway and buses. Right next to Grant and Millenium Parks. Several nearby quick-eat eateries. Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and polite. Hotel and rooms are in good condition. Rooms are a bit small, but typical of high rise hotels downtown IMHO. Would definitely book again.

Nice renovation of this hotel. Updated and modern for the most part. Staff was friendly and room was comfortable. Nearly instant hot water in shower and sink, and lovely view from my room overlooking southern end of Grant Park and the Museum Campus. Only things that might have been better - towels are a bit cheap, no body lotion in the bathroom, and walls are not very soundproof so I was not able to get to sleep until the people next door decided to end their conversation. Location is great. Eleven City Diner and Trader Joe's really close, and park is across the street, so you can walk to Field Museum, Planetarium and Aquarium. This area of Chicago sure has changed!

Our stay was amazing and was in walking distance from our events. Armena was a great help at the service desk! She made everything so easy and helped us for our next stay. The room was very nice and clean. Everything about this hotel was amazing and I 100% recommend this hotel for anyone coming to Chicago!

Allowed an early check in, stored our bags on the day of check out so we could stay in town longer, took care of the loud & unruly guest next door immediately when I called to complain at 11:30 p.m. All around courteous. Rooms are small with 2 doubles, elevators are claustrophobic, but I would stay here again just because of the fantastic staff! I wish every hotel was run this way.

The staff service was excellent. allowed us to early checkin and helped us with several tips. Very good location, well equipped room, comfortable and clean. I recommend and would stay again in this hotel.

This hotel is great. We had tickets to a concert at Millennium Park and wanted to be close. You can walk to so much, the art institute, Buckingham Fountain, the lakefront, Grant and Millennium Park. Every bus and subway line has a stop within a block. The staff is amazing, very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I just can't say enough about our great stay!

We stayed here for three days , check-in was smoother, room of two double bed was too small, very small storage space, there was only coffee maker no tea kettle and no fridge as mentioned while booking. Room size was too small,after keeping two suitcase there is bare minimum space to walk. As mentioned two double bed they're 1.5 bed two people cannot sleep on this bed so beware before booking if booking for family. Bed quality is good. Location it's the last hotel on Michigan avenue , just opposite to grant park. If weather is nice not too hot then it's very nice to walk from this location to Millennium Park, you can see most of the tourist attractions. Convenient store are at walking distance. Hop on hop of bus available just two blocks away at Hilton on same road. Hotel is bit overpriced with the location and facilities provided. Staff good and express check out very efficient, staff was helpful.

Service was very friendly and helpful. Hallways kind of depressing. Room had musty odor. Bed and bedding was ok. I was in room 802 which was large and clean with very nice views. The surrounding neighborhood is fine

This hotel is located across from Grant Park, and about a 15 minute walk to the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum and the Planetarium. The "L" is about three blocks away, and also an easy walk. From the outside, the hotel appears older, but they have done remodeling within the facility. I anticipated a bad mattress, but that was not the case. There are not a lot of amenities at this hotel, but we didn't spend much time at the hotel. The lobby and our room was neat and clean. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a cafe/bar adjacent to the hotel, but it is NOT part of the hotel facility. I wasn't too impressed. There are other cafe's/restaurants/bars within easy walking distance. The only reason I did not give this hotel an Excellent rating was because of the noise. Since this is an older hotel, there doesn't seem to be much in the walls for sound barriers. I could hear people coming and going up and down the hall, and could hear people talking in the adjacent rooms, but muffled. Despite the noise issue, I would still recommend this hotel, and we would stay here again.

Nothing exceptional, but all we needed was a comfortable bed. We saw a concert at northerly island and the next day used the City Pass to visit Aquarium, Planetarium, and the Field Museum. Everything in easy walking distance. Would be a good place to stay for a Bears game or Soldier Field Concert.

Great location at the south end of Grant Park. It's about 1.5 miles to Union Station. I walked from the hotel to Shedd Aquarium, about .6 miles, and then to Adler Planetarium, another .5 miles. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and the shower was great. I knew when I made the reservation there was no pool or hot tub and no free breakfast at this property. Still, I look forward to those amenities at most Best Westerns. Desk staff were nice and helpful. It IS a noisy hotel. The air handling equipment runs all night and it's a loud hum throughout the building. You get used to it.

This hotel is conveniently located, just across the road from Grant Park, and about 30 mins' walk from the Chicago “ Bean”. The room is clean, with good WiFi and coffee/tea making facility. I did not experience the noise and negative experience other guests who stayed in hotel during the same period in May had. There are newspapers and refreshing chilled water at the lobby. There are restaurants ( Indian/Japanese), pubs and a grocery shop within 5-10mins' walk. Price-wise, this hotel is one of the more affordable ones in such a convenient location during this period. Will recommend this to others.

Fake Eyelashes still on shower mat, tub chipped/broken, shower handle did not turn water on, could easily hear neighbors on both sides of the room. Good location which is why we picked the hotel. Would likely not stay here again.

We stayed just one night. The hotel is centrally located to downtown. The price was reasonable. Staff was friendly. The room was very nice - updated, clean, and quiet. We would definitely stay there again. To park a car through the hotel is $52/day. There is a parking garage a block down that costs $25/day which isn't bad in downtown Chicago.

First of all the staff were very friendly, which I appreciated greatly. However, the hotel suffered from peeling paint in the bathroom, broken air conditioning units that couldn't be fixed during my stay and very thin walls, which, coupled with some inconsiderate guests regarding early noise levels led to quite a disappointing stay. I won't return on this basis.

For the price you pay this hotel can't be beaten. It's in an excellent location in South Loop, 20 minutes walk to central Chicago and easy access to Grant Park, museums and Lakeshore. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a good range of amenities including tea/coffee making facilities. I had breakfast one morning in the cafe attached and although the environment is a little soulless the food and service was excellent. There are a number of good eating places within 10 - 15 minutes walk. I would happily stay here again!

This was an excellent hotel in all areas. Comfy beds, fantastic location, great views, and excellent front desk staff. I would like to commend specifically, Erica, Chasity, Cindy, Lisa and Armena on their helpful attitudes and sense of fun.

Great and convenient location for visiting park and museums . I enjoyed its proximity to the trains as well as restaurants. I would recommend this to anyone traveling to this area. Elevators a little small but never failed.

The hotel is very comfortable, near of the bus station, subway and market place. Even there are some malls not to far. You can park your car at the parking at the next street and the restaurant is good. I used the room during night, but during day is some noice because there is a building next to the hotel in construction .

A 4 day stay in Chicago the hotel package was this place. On first impressions I was a bit suspicious but boy was I wrong. In a quiet neighbourhood and very close to Grants Park and Lake side Trail this place was perfect. Bed was really comfortable and the rooms tidy and cleaned everyday. The staff were great and helpful. What more can you ask for. If I every go back to Chicago I would def stay here. It's a little way out of the main downtown area but it's a tad cheaper and nearby are great eateries. Thanks for a great stay

No hot water. Need I say more? There is no excuse for no hot water. No I shall fill 200 characters to meet minimum post. Thank god the check out lady was a peach. Still short of characters, should I mention no hot water again?

The staff was so impressive that it saved this hotel from a negative rating (my room definitely could have been cleaner). From check-in to check-out the staff was friendly and extremely helpful: offered delivery coupons, provided excellent directions, brought toothpaste to my room within minutes. Very friendly and happy staff!

I have stayed here many times and love this hotel. The hotel is walking distance to Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, and Field Museum, a little longer walk to Millennial Park, and a short ride to Navy Pier or upper Michigan Ave. The front desk staff have always been lovely and friendly. This visit Armena was at the front desk and she was fabulous! Have lots of suggestions to us and made arrival after a several hour drive fun and relaxing!

positives: -cheap in comparison to all other hotels in the area -great location beside Grant Park and close to the magnificent mile - staff were wonderful and friendly (special mention to Amena who was always cheery) -tasteful and modern decór - Nice Views Negatives: -air con in the room was large and often noisy -room was a little dusty -could be more plugs in the room -noise from nearby building works Overall the positives outweighed the negatives and I would definitely stay here again.

This was the fourth time I have stayed here and again was impressed by the staff, the quality of the room and the value for its location. Rooms are clean and if you request a room with a lake view on a higher floor, the view is just as nice as hotels in the area which would cost triple. Highly recommended.

I stayed here for business and was very pleasantly surprised at the kindness and friendliness of all the staff from the front desk and housekeeping to the maintenance staff. The outside of the building doesn't represent the inside. It's clean with free internet and the bed was very comfortable. I will definitely stay here again.

Great location within walking distance of lake and the river walk, the Art Institute, large park opposite, shopping and library. Not too far from Union Station. Excellent value with spacious rooms, clean, quiet. Helpful, friendly staff.

Stayed here 3 nights for a conference. I picked this hotel which was a bit further away from McCormick place but much more affordable. I got there around 11am, and they had my room ready right away, which was greatly appreciated after getting up early for my flight. The hotel had everything I needed, it was clean, room was spacious. No complaints. Desk service was great, the employees were useful in recommending nearby restaurants, means of transportation and storing my luggage on my last day. The location was great! Right in front of the park, safe neighborhood, close to everything I needed. I would definitely stay here again.

Don't let the Best Western name fool you. This property with its excellent suite, its quiet atmosphere and friendly staff can compete with the best of the hotels out there. The suite I received was spacious for a small hotel, had a great view overlooking Michigan Avenue located by both bus and train. Staff was friendly and all of my questions were answered. The express checkout was very convenient and meant you didn't have to wait in line to check out and was on your way. WIFI was excellent, not spotty and they don't charge extra for their high speed internet like some hotels.

Front Desk staff was amazing; Recommended attractions and restaurants. CTA was close by. Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium are across the street. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in town. This was near Giordano's, Yoke, Trader Joe's & Potbelly's

Great location, basic amenities. Excellent location by park. Views are great (ask for high floor facing Lake). No complimentary breakfast, but restaurant on site (food and service good). Sleep quality below average due to soft beds. Service, cleanliness excellent making it a good value stay.

My group stayed at the Best Western Grant Park Hotel for about a week in February while in Chicago for work. Though among our 7 rooms there were a few concerns (a fridge that didn't work, wanting to switch to a room with a bathtub, etc.), the customer service was excellent and all issues were resolved immediately. In the case that our shower handle came loose, the mechanic came up right away to tighten it for us and it was fixed. The front desk staff was very kind, as well as great service from the breakfast and restaurant staff. Sales Manager Marites (who helped coordinate the arrangements) was very kind and even followed up with me during our stay. Icing on the cake: our departure flights were all cancelled, and the staff easily arranged an extra night of rooms for all of us. Friendly faces greeted us when we returned from the airport for another extra night. Hotel may not be in the best shape, but the people there are wonderful. Thank you!

South Loop used to be risky. No longer. Good location at south end of Grant Park. Three blocks from CTA. Ease of access to Science museums and Lake tours; a little bit farther to Soldier Field. Room small but clean and comfortable (no refrigerator); good value for the money.The staff were spectacularly good: efficient, helpful, knowledgeable, and especially cheerful.

Nice location, room was squeezed. Hotel staff are nice helpful. They don't have service lift separately, always travel with or interfere there duties..glass windows seems little unsafty esp with kids . Satisfied with stay overall. Allowed early check out by 12 noon and kept our luggage until our flight time in the evening after checked out.

The hotel had a very friendly and clean atmosphere. They had a valet car service which was a great help as the car was always ready for us in the morning. The staff were friendly and courteous. The room was clean and a relaxing place to be after being on our feet all day.

The rooms and bathrooms were clean, as were the halls. I had everything I needed in the room and the internet was pretty fast. It was cold out so the rooms were well heated but not stuffy. The entire staff on duty the weekend I was here were extremely friendly, helpful, and service was great!! Mei's Kitchen, their restaurant, is a great place to go for breakfast and coffee! I'd definitely come back here.

This hotel has the best staff of any hotel I have ever stayed in. They helped with anything I asked them for which included restaurant questions, pizza delivery questions, requests for added nights and more. An outstanding bunch of people!!!

We stayed on the 6th floor of the hotel. The window view was disappointing, not a big deal for a big city. Our room had some ceiling defects and the ceiling was falling down in the corner. Parking want included in the hotel fees. That was a bit of a downer. The location was great we were in walking distance of everything. However the hotel staff double booked our room and it was a scary experience for my children and I. We were woken up by strangers trying to get to their room. These things just made it an average stay, I may not return to this hotel based on the negatives.

If you're looking for a great night of sleep, look elsewhere. The beds at Best Western Grant Park felt like trash bags filled with debris. The bed my kids slept in did not have a center support beam and it bowed badly in the middle (staff chose not to repair it or relocate us). The room was also VERY crowded and our family of 4 struggled to move around in it. The TV also did not work, but that wasn't a real high priority for us, though. As for the good stuff, we picked the hotel for the location (close to museums, etc.) and that did not disappoint. All things considered, for $100 in Chicago, we probably got what we paid for.

It was in a Fabulous location! Staff is super friendly and accommodating! Room was clean and had everything we needed except a refrigerator. Walking distance to Grand park, millennium Park, field museum and many other tourist sites!

Friendly staff and nice, clean rooms. Being so close to the Field museum, aquarium, planetarium and train line worked out great, too. Made it quite easy to go to and from the airport. I'd definitely stay here again.

The staff at this hotel will keep us coming back. Extremely friendly and warm. I felt like they would bend over backwards to make our stay happy. The location near the parks/museum campus is great. Our room had VERY VERY VERY noisy guests next to us from 11pm to 3am, so that was a bummer, not the hotel's fault, though (I didn't call the front desk to complain, so they wouldn't have known it was happening). The manager, Octovio, is WONDERFUL. We will come back.

Our stay at the Best Western Grant Park Hotel was excellent. Very friendly, helpful staff. Checked-in at 10:30 am and was able to valet park and store luggage until a room opened up. Perfect location for visiting museums. Had breakfast in the restaurant once - very good and great coffee.

I stayed here during a recent trip for a conference nearby. For downtown Chicago, the rate was very reasonable. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. One staff member was especially helpful when I had a problem with a taxi driver the last night of my stay by giving me tips on how to file a complaint about the driver. The only issue I had was that the hot water in the shower was somewhat unpredictable (switched from very hot to lukewarm or cold). I reported this to the front desk, and they checked into the problem right away.

We stayed with a group of 47 high school students and adults on a weekend Choir trip to Chicago. The hotel property is very nice. Rooms were good sized and had comfortable beds. The entire hotel seemed updated and has been kept very clean. The staff was helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Breakfast in the attached Mei's Kitchen restaurant was delicious and they handled our large group in an hour. I would highly recommend this Best Western as a great place to stay if your in Chicago.

We came to Chicago to go sightseeing with our kids--ages 11, 9, and 8. We were right across the street from Grant Park, an easy 10 minute walk to the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, and Adler Planetarium. There was a stop for Big Bus hop on, hop off tours just a couple blocks away (both the trolley and the city bus right there also). We had no problem getting a taxi with the help of the front desk. There was street noise--not bad on the 8th floor. We had a view of Lake Michigan and Navy Pier. The Yolk restaurant right next door was awesome! Trader Joe's was around the corner for some snacks for the room. The front desk gave us a coupon for a nearby restaurant, and we enjoyed having Chicago deep dish pizza delivered. The room itself was a good size, with 2 double beds and a pullout sofa. Beds were comfortable also. There was a fridge and microwave. The dead bolt did not work at all. It was going to need to be replaced totally. Too late to fix it when we reported it. Not sure why they didn't come back to fix it while we were there, though. There was a solid flip-switch door stop in place of a chain that did work. The heating unit near the sofa was loud and kicked on continuously the first night. Maintenance came in to look at it, and my husband decided to settle for unplugging it. We were fine with the other unit near the beds working. The tub/shower had a broken (stripped) faucet handle and broken stopper. Maintenance fixed the handle, but it was starting to go again by the time we checked out two days later. None of these issues were too terrible, but they did definitely indicate that the hotel needs some regular maintenance inspection/work. All staff we saw were friendly and helpful. We would come back and stay again!

This hotel was great and had a nice and helpful staff. I liked the quiet and non-pompous atmosphere. Perfect if you're looking for something practical, comfortable, in a great location and not too flashy.
