Best Western Gregory Hotel

Toilet would not flush when used late Easter Sunday. Plus overnight while sleeping part of the bathroom ceiling fell down. What if an adult or child had been hit in the head by the falling ceiling debris?! The toilet is old and needs a new part. Upon complaining about these directly to the front desk the following morning and sending them an email with pictures the very surly and unpleasant male employee said since I didn't complain Easter Sunday night I was due zero credit on my room rate!! And the “breakfast” was horrible, inedible and drinks were awful, especially the coffee. If you can avoid it stay elsewhere.

We occupied two room. Both rooms were dated. They reeked heavily of smoke and marijuana. The sheets were pale yellow and had heavy smell of smoke. When I booked the hotel, the website mentioned free parking. This was one of the reason we picked this hotel given that parking in NYC is a pain. But when we got to the hotel at 11pm, the staff informed that free parking is no longer offered since the new owners took that away. They mentioned a parking garage a block away or street parking, All the garage parking around had closed at 7pm. We spent 20 mts looking for a parking space almost till midnight. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will never stay here in future.

Jenny was such a delight to meet and she provided the very best customer service! We were there with our Reno Ice Raider Hockey Team for a game against the NYFD. Boy oh boy I can not express enough on how great everyone treated us, New York will always hold a speical place in our hearts! See you next year!!! Stay happy and healthy :) James & DebraTebbe

Cost more than many Manhattan hotels. Upon checkin, bed was unmade. Room was halfheartedly made up to some degree each day, found crumbs by the ice bucket, sink was half working. Dead fly in the milk at breakfast. There is apparently a church service on the lower level on Sundays at 9am with 2 hours of music, but I was given no warning or discount when put in a ground floor room, and was treated to this sonic nightmare the morning after a wedding. Couldn't even report half these issues because there was rarely anyone at the desk. (The one woman we did encounter was nice and seemed like she was trying). At checkout, desk was distracted by the police, who were called to deal with a guest, which was really just the cherry on top. Unless you ABSOLUTELY must stay in Bay Ridge, do not stay here.

Our family gathered this Christmas with our son and his wife who live in Bay Ridge. We stayed at this hotel for a week. It was about a 25 minute easy walk to our son. This is not a luxury hotel but certainly met all our expectations. The staff was very welcoming from the moment we checked in. The room was well equipped, the shower was extremely clean and easy to use, there were plenty of linens, the bed and comforter/pillows were comfortable. The TV worked well and was easy to operate-a big deal for my husband. The internet signal was strong. This is very close to a subway stop for going into the city. That was an added perk. We would stay here again!

Pleasant and lovely stay. The hotel is a good location and so much desirable stay in the hotel. I hotel observed that complimentary water is not available at the hotel. The hotel just need to work on this.

I stayed at the Best Western Gregory Hotel From November 16 - November 19. Upon arrival, I met Princess at the front desk. Princess was able to handle my colleagues and my requests for number of be change on one night, then keeping us in the same room for the other two nights in which our reservations in another person's name. Gladys gave us a spot to keep our bags before we could check in and also after our check out on Sunday, November 19. We were given directions and recommendations by several other front desk workers. To be honest, I joke around [a lot] and appreciate the staffs' interactions with me; they were great while still being professional and courteous. I will be back next year. Sincerely, M. Mitalski

We arrived early and even though we weren't set to check in until 3pm, our front desk attendant was kind enough to let us check in early. Walked into a clean room, with a street view. No foul scent, only a minor maintenance issue with the bathroom door but overall for the 4 night stay, it was worth it. Our room included a microwave, small fridge, alarm clock, tv, and coffee maker, all functional with no issues. The bed is on the softer side, if you're a fan of a firm mattress, this may not cut it. Water pressure was perfect. Temperature was more than adequate. Included toiletries were appreciated. Wall mounted hair dryer included a night light and was situated close to the mirror and sink. Did not utilize their business center but did enjoy the breakfast served every morning. Hot breakfast consisted of a type of egg, sausage or bacon, another day featured biscuits and gravy. Also included waffle station, fresh bagels and breads, fruits and fruit juice, coffee, yogurt dispenser with toppings, and cereal/oatmeal packets. The staff was friendly, minus the hiccups during breakfast but hey, everyone has their days.

If you are looking for a nice, clean, quiet, safe and comfortable place to stay in Brooklyn, BW Gregory is a great choice. Clean rooms, Good Breakfast included, Nice staff barring a few. The only lift in the hotel is pretty slow, they will hopefully attend to it soon enough. Given the off-peak location, room rates can be a bit more competitive.

My husband and I went to NY for a concert in the city and we stayed in Brooklyn at the Gregory. Our room was nice, clean and the breakfast was really good. We stay at this hotel every time we fly up for a visit.

Prefect place to stay near everything.Safe hotel .Great staff.Our room was clean and fully stocked beds are comfortable.Breakfast is from 7til 10 Waffle machines bagel eggs and more.Restaurant are near by. Bar in hotel opens at 6pm

We stayed at the BEST WESTERN Gregory Hotel in Bay Ridge. The staff was great. The receptionists were very helpful and answered all our questions and even got us a car service. The room was clean and bright, and there was a hot breakfast. There were several restaurants and pubs within walking distance with a variety of types. We would stay here again.

Excellent staff, very nice lodging, safe, affordable, clean, centrally located, coffee/tea makers, mini fridge, micro, free breakfast with nice variety and delightful mini croissants. Quiet and relaxing.

We stayed at the BW Gregory for 5 nights. Nice staff, clean and basic room, ok breakfast (although on some mornings some food items ran out), horrible coffee like in most American hotels. Our toilet broke while we were there but they were able to get someone to fix it by the end of the day. We were also offered a change of a room. On our last day cleaners had visited our room to empty the trash although we had the Do not disturb sign on our door. Our window view was towards the 'inner yard' of the building, a very close wall and another hotel room. The area is ok with restaurants, grocery shops, metro station and shopping possibilities nearby.

The Best Western Gregory Hotel is a 2 star hotel that knows what it is and doesn't pretend to be anything else. It was in a location convenient to where we needed to be. Lots of great little hidden gem restaurants near by and within walking distance if you look around . As you get off the elevator you may be taken back because the hallways are very dark and the doors are old- The accommodations were very average, the rooms pretty clean but the linens are paper thin- we asked for an received an extra blanket from the front desk which is where the Gregory excelled- the front desk staff was very polite and efficient at check in and helpful throughout our stay- breakfast was also average but at least there was breakfast- they did have coffee all day - I would definitely recommend just know what you're getting - nothing fancy or over the top-

The Gregory Hotel is a clean, friendly, family type of hotel. We were recently in town for my Mothers 90th birthday party. We had multiple friends a family come in from out of town and out of the country and we all stayed at the Gregory. It was great to meet up with everyone for the complimentary breakfast. The week we were in town Brooklyn was experiencing record high temperatures. The air conditioning in the rooms was comfortably cold. The temperature in the elevator, lobby and hallways was a little sticky with humidity. Also, there was something wrong with the fire alarm. It went off several times during the night. Thank God it was a false alarm.

I am originally from the neighborhood and was pleased that the Gregory was taken over by Best Western. I thought the place had to have improved. It was clean, but the air conditioning was lacking in my bedroom and it was a warm summer night. The bar is closed on the weekends and no-one shared that info when I was making reservations, nor when I called to inquire what time it closes. The valet parking is non-existent on weekends, too. Like the title says ASK Questions.

Hotel was nice, not grand. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Would have liked to see the coffee filled more often. Fresh fruit was good. May be nice to have whole eggs, instead of just egg whites in the heated portions. Would prefer a better view next time!

Walking distance to Fort Hamilton. Great place to watch the ship parade. Overall had the NYC vibe to it. Lot of small places to eat and shop. Interior of hotel had a nice upgrade. Felt like a European hotel.

Hotel was in a decent area but parking is a real challenge. Valet was full so that wasn't an option. Room was clean but very small. Could barely walk between end of bed and dresser on opposite wall. Breakfast was fine.

Comfortable bed, clean room and water pressure in the shower were all very good. The location of the hotel is close to all shops and restaurants. Room was a decent size and clean. They served a nice continental breakfast and the staff was friendly. No complaints and if in the Bay Ridge area, I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel should be a gold mine. It is the only hotel in Bay Ridge. The rooms are small, dank and worn. You would think such a unique location would have a top-class hotel for families who visit the area. The check in person was very nice, but I was charged the wrong rate and was never emailed a bill following our stay. The halls are dark and have a bad smell. At this stage of the game you would expect a clean, comfortable room. But you won't find that here.

The hotel was easy to find, thank goodness to googlemaps cause it is Brooklyn. Be prepared to pay a valet $35 to park and retrieve your vehicle if you drive, as there's no onsite parking & your vehicle will.be parked a few blocks away. And if you think you'll be using your vehicle after 10pm, you can't because there won't be a valet available after 10pm. The front desk area is nice, along with the staff who were very personable & courteous. Checkin and out was easy. The luggage cart is so tiny, with kind of a triangular shape to it, open shopping cart look to it and I kinda know why cause the elevator is extremely small. I stayed on the top floor, 4th floor and stepping off the elevator, my nostrils were hit with this icky smell I can't even begin to try to explain. And later that night, that same smell was mixed with cigarette smoke, even though it's a smokeless hotel. I talked to one of the cleaning persons to see if she could suggest places nearby to eat. She was so sweet, as she went down to the front desk and brought to my room, alot of restaurant brochures, which I appreciated so much. My room was a double qn bed room with a sm coffee/tea maker, sm fridge/freezer and microwave. There was also a key locked safe where i could put my money instead of carrying it around with me. There was only a shower but that was ok cause there was instant hot water and a great shower head with good water pressure. The only cons were the view out of the window was of the next building over and an alleyway with trash. The mattresses need to be replaced as they had a raised lump down the center. And the other little ding was that no one is vacuuming under the beds cause I accidentally dropped something that went under the edge of the bed and I found a cheerio and lots of dust/dirt.

Top of the line hotel. The Staff are highly professional and courteous. They my stay superb. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The ability to valet park at the hotel was a critical choice for me.

Triple check your reservation is correct. And when you get there check it again. Front desk service sucks.valet guy is very nice and always willing to help. So are the ladies from the breakfast area. But rooms are falling apart. Location is great.

Finding a hotel in the NYC area that is affordable is one thing...but to find a hotel that is clean, well run and in a great neighborhood was a wonderful experience. The Best Western Gregory in Brooklyn absolutely helped make our stay a terrific one. The ease of access to the subway system made getting into Manhattan a breeze to see a broadway play. We chose to look for a place in Brooklyn, as our daughter lives there and we didn't have high hopes about finding a nice place that we could afford. Our room was spacious, clean, and well maintained. The staff are pleasant, helpful, and willing to go the 'extra mile'. The breakfast offered each morning is wonderful! We absolutely will stay there again.

After having slept for four days in this hotel, we were received very hospitably and enthusiastically from day one, by the receptionist and the other staff. And in particular bartender Xiomara.,she gave us a lot of tips and good information. She is very interested in her guests. In her guestbook the guests can then register a nice story here. The guests can place a pin on her globe were they come from so that there is a nice overview. In short, Xiomara is an enthusiastic hostess and bartender. Piet en Guus from Holland

This was a great hotel to stay at. Rooms are nice, breakfast was fabulous and front desk was very nice to deal with. Great location with plenary of restaurants around. I will definitely be staying here again when I come to New York.

It's not in the best condition. The halls were musty, elevator smelled. The bed made noise and there were rats running around. I didn't see one but family did and other guests saw it and complained. Very upset!

Nothing wrong with that, everybody needs a place to sleep. But the price here is way too high for that. I was also surprised to see people camping out in the lobby, which I had plenty of t observe because it took the poorly-trained staff 30 minutes to figure out the check-in process. Night security is a joke - anyone can walk in past the guard, he didn't even attempt to identify us at all. We just waltzed in without having to show ID or room keys. (and no, he did not know that we were guests) This is the worst "Best" Western I've ever seen - in addition to hosting the homeless, the rooms are very worn, with tiny, unopenable windows and very old and noisy AC. I thought it would be convenient, since I visit the area often, but I'll return to staying in Manhattan and taking the bus or subway to Bay Ridge. The Gregory is so poorly run that it's not worth the time savings. You can pay the same and stay in a much nicer hotel either in Manhattan or other parts of Brooklyn, like nearby Sunset Park.

I made a mistake in booking this hotel, I thought it was near an event that my son and I were attending. We had checked in and then I realized my mistake. They were so kind they refunded my money. I couldn't believe it. They were just very nice and understanding..

Great place to stay. Very clean and service is great. The entire staff was very helpful. Amazing hospitality! Bay Ridge has a lot of restaurants and is a very safe neighborhood. I am glad Best Western is in this area.

This was the perfect landing place for our family's New York adventure! We stayed 3 nights and found it comfortable, clean, and safe. The staff members were all pleasant, professional, and helpful. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast was good, and there's plenty of space to sit and eat. It's super convenient - just a quick walk to a subway stop and 86th Street which has so many food and shopping options.

In overall, it is a good place to stay in, clean and comfortable. Great location, very close to a shopping area, very close to subway station. The palce has an outstanding staff, very professional and very helpful.

Rude staff. Didn't know their job it took over one half hour to check in. mattress's that sunk to the middle. Bar not open on the weekends. I would never stay in this dive agin. No parking valet parking $40

This is a well-maintained and comfortable hotel in the busy 86th St area of Bay Ridge. Rooms are comfortable. We always enjoy the diverse clientele during the breakfast time. Staff is friendly and cooperative. However given the substantial increase in rates- currently almost $100 over usual rates it is hard to feel good about the substandard breakfast offerings. Pre-cooked eggs (if these are actually derived from eggs!) and unappealing other hot offerings don't match the competition. Gregory needs to step up their breakfast game. A/C units in room weren't cold enough and windows don't open, In spite of criticisms we would stay there again.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. They never complained about us sitting and eating in lounge area. They were very accommodating *((big Arab family :)) and would remind us to help ourselves to their drinks and put the TV on. Location was great for walking and grabbing transportation. Many restaurants nearby and decent neighborhoods. I believe they are still in covid protocols...I would have liked daily housekeeping. You must call and request it. When we did,they would come.

Great staff, great location, parking is a little rough. Clean rooms, and a nice little bar. This is a great place to stay while in Brooklyn. It is very close to shops, great restaurants, amd entertainment.

Hotel is safe, clean, and comfortable. The staff was what set this place apart. They were extremely accommodating and friendly. They were able to answer questions about the area (restaurants). I was even given a handwritten map of a super fun running route based on the mileage I wanted to do.

There are a couple of very good things about this hotel. The rooms are very clean, most of the time very quiet, and try to ensure the “no smoking rule” is followed. But the best and most important thing about the hotel is the staff - all of them down to some of the clean crew are professional, friendly, caring and skilled.

The staff are excellent, the breakfast is great, the internet is fast, and we will definitely stay here again. We have stayed here numerous times over the past 15 years and have always appreciated the staff's willingness to help us. The location is excellent and it is easy to get around NYC.

Stay at the Gregory in Bayridge Brooklyn. You will have a good experience, get some rest, good food in the a.m.and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Great breakfast bar and the cocktail lounge has what you need and the bartender is fabulous, Lady X. Book it and enjoy

A fine place that could use a bit of updating but was overall an enjoyable time! The ice machine is on the 3rd floor only, and check the window if you're hot, our room had an extra AC window unit we didn't know about.

Good location for those who need to see Brooklyn area, close to the shore and many small restaurants. Old hotel which shows its old age (though they have been changing the mattresses during our stay). Staff are friendly, except one guy called Ahmet who must be the rudest hotel receptionist I have met in my life - and I am a world traveller for over 40 years... Rooms / carpets look their age and the air conditioning units must be from the previous century making so much noise you feel you are inside a ships engine room! Windows do not open and are poorly insulating the street noise. Breakfast finishes 9am on weekdays so one has to wake up eary to catch it - and it gets boring with similar plastic taste warm foods... All in cheap paper/plastic plates & cups. They change linen/towels every 3 days if you request (and get lucky, ours was changed on 4th day this Ahmed rudely said staff was busy ...elsewhere!). I would have felt a bit better i THEY paid me to stay in this hotel rather than me paying....

Someone was being attacked on the 4th floor, on the evening I stayed there. Non of the employees were aware of what happened . It was 4am and another person screamed to leave her alone. Was not able to fall asleep any longer. At 7am someone next door was blasting tthe radio which was very inconsiderate

I travel often and have had some less than stellar hotel experiences, but I've never been more let down than I was with this hotel. I booked off the beaten path because I really needed to be in this neighborhood, and decided to rent a car for my trip in part because it looked like it would make more sense than Uber for my trip. A bunch of the reviews and the hotel's own website talk about the 24/7 valet parking, which reviews say is a must in this area. I get there at 12:30 AM after a long day of traveling and a night of partying, really looking forward to dropping off my car, checking in, and plopping down on a bed. Got there; no valet outside. I called to ask about it and they said "oh, we don't have parking, haven't since before COVID." "Umm, what? So where am I supposed to park?" My heart started to race a bit, bracing for what I was worried I'd hear next. "You'll have to find street parking," In Brooklyn at 12:30 AM. I drove around 45 minutes, getting lost driving in wider and wider circles around the hotel looking for a space. At maybe 1:15 AM I found a spot, but it was of dubious legality since it was half past one of the parking signs. And anyway, street parking requires cars to be moved BY 8 AM -- to I have no idea where -- which would have meant after a very long day where I wanted nothing more than to sleep in, having instead to wake up before 8 AM to move my car. And then potentially having to move it or feed a meter every 2 hours. I have no idea. But at this point I was exhausted and running on fumes and I realized I'd probably have better luck going downtown and just finding a decent place there. Ended up at the Hilton and they took very nice care of me, had a staffed garage a 2 minute walk away, and got me into a nice room immediately. It was about 2:30 AM before I was in my room and settled. Just a truly terrible 2 hours when I was already exhausted of having to find new accommodations. Absolutely brutal. Anyway, really disappointed, definitely learned my lesson on deviating from the more reputable brands.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Hotel and room was noticeably clean and although I didn't care the staff did politely ask people to wear their mask. I respect that's important to some or many people. How they asked, definitely influenced people to comply.

We stayed in early December and didn't spend much time in the room. The room was clean and met our needs, but two of the lights were not working. We did not report this as it wasn't a game changer for us and the receptionist at check-in was preoccupied with her phone so we didn't see any point in disturbing her about the inoperable lighting.

We stayed for 2 nights just to get away from it all. We enjoyed staying at Best Western Gregory Hotel as we have had a few times in the past years. The room was clean, modern and neat however the bed was a bit too hard for us seniors. The non-smoking room was a big plus cute and comfortable with beautiful marble bath. It was a small suite with microwave, mini refrigerator, TV and a table. It comes with a free WIFI and breakfast very convenient. You won't be disappointed!

Well I usually don't write a lot of reviews, but this one takes the cake for sure. They better make this a 5-star hotel because for real this place is freaking AWESOME for sure. The staff are soooo nice and welcoming, the rooms are legit clean and they helped me out with my room situation when I originally couldn't get my game streaming to work, they moved me to a bigger room with a nice size flat screen too. I'm originally from Brooklyn myself and there isn't too many pleasant hotels in Brooklyn to say the least, but this place is super nice. I was also close to the R train station 1 block away and was able to celebrate my birthday week and weekend with my family and friends at Barclays Center during an NBA game, go to my new favorite spot called THE SIMPSON RESTUARANT AND BAR and had a great time. You can't go wrong with pound cakes and orange juice for sure and able to relax in my room, while staff checked to see if I needed anything. The hotel lobby was the only common area in the hotel that was clean. The rest of the hotel was disgusting!!! It smelled like a drug den -- there were food boxes and all kinds of garbage in the hallway leading to the rooms. The hotel room was barely passable as far as cleanliness. The front desk staff were friendly, but had no real authority over anything. I have called the hotel 5 times since Friday and none of the managers have returned my calls. Not surprised!

I go to Brooklyn twice a year to visit family that lives in Bensonhurst. This hotel is an excellent location for me, just a short bus ride to my destination. The surrounding neighborhood is safe, vibrant, and interesting to walk around. Plenty of shopping, restaurants, and access to transportation. Easy subway ride to Manhattan too. The staff is friendly and there's a good choice of breakfast foods. Hotel is not fancy, but has all the basics. I feel very comfortable staying there.

I got an emergency phone call on August 10th telling me my mom was near death in Brooklyn… I booked a flight and booked into the Best western Gregory Hotel in Bay Ridge Brooklyn for 5 nights.. My mom recovered .. thank God … I just got back to Louisiana today .. this hotel was so disgusting I don't even know where to begin… the carpets were filthy.. there was a weird smell everywhere .. I wanted to leave the moment I went up to the fourth floor.. I stepped off the elevator and everything smelled disgusting .. the carpets were filthy .. I needed to get to the hospital on 1st Ave and 55th street.. so I sprayed everything in the room down with Lysol I had picked up across the street because covid .. changed and went to the hospital… the elevator buttons said they were self cleaning … I hope so cause bugs were walking across them…there was also bugs in the uncovered food in their free breakfast .. stick to the single serve cereals if you are hungry ..the staff was very nice .. not gonna lie.. but this place is vile … there is a crack house feel in the middle of the night .. pot smoke in the halls and I got propositioned in the elevator… NOT a making this stuff up.. I have tons of photos … I will put them up when I have time to recover .. but I'll leave you with a close up of the 4th floor carpet

My girl friend lives three blocks from the hotel unfortunately because her family's apartment is a small two bed room and her family is already living under very tight space restrictions I am only able to stay at the hotel and because this hotel is actually the only one near bye to her home I stay at this best western on average 4- 5 days a week including weekends it's location and great comfort make my visits all the more enjoyable

This place sucks and I know. I have traveled all over the world, Iceland, Greece, Dubai. I have never seen suck horrible customer service. When I called and explained that the price she quoted me to book the room was cheaper on their website Gehad the sales rep pretended like it wasn't true even though I had a screen shot. She told me the price might be a scam. How could that be when it is the main website for the Hotel? The price was 134. She was charging 159. Then the next day the price went up all the way to 161. So I ended up paying more then she has offered seems funny how that happened after I mentioned the cheaper price. I was only staying here because it was for my brother wedding. There was no late check out. The cleaning lady kept asking if I was going to leave even though it was like 3 hrs before check out. Gehad messed up on a booking for my brother and he was kicked out of his room on his wedding day. He is in the Military for god sakes. I asked them to put me close to him they put me a whole floor above his room. You don't expect this even from best western.

My family and I stayed in this Best Western hotel in Brooklyn, NY for 2 nights while sightseeing in NYC. Not a bad drive into NYC. There is no free parking. The paid parking garage is a couple of blocks away.

Went to NY to our mom's Celebration of Life and stayed at the Gregory. The hotel was centrally located and close to great restaurants in Bay Ridge. The staff were professional, helpful and kind. The manager was very attentive and checked to make sure we had what we needed. Would be happy to stay there again. Had several family members come in from all over and on different days and all were pleased with the accommodations. Reasonably priced for a prime area in Brooklyn. Close to subways if needed.

Our stay at the Best Western Gregory Hotel in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY was GREAT start to finish! Making reservations on the website was easy. All of the staff was nice, courteous and so helpful! The room was large and super clean, with a refrigerator & microwave. Bathroom was super clear too! Lots of outlets to plug in electronics. Pick-up breakfast was perfect - pastry, sausage, egg & cheese or egg & cheese sandwich, fruit, yogurt, granola bar, orange or apple juice, & a selection of coffee, teas & hot chocolate. Was in easy walking distance of many great restaurants & shopping. Exceeded our expectations!!

Dirty. Stunk like cigarettes and marijuana. Staff denied my wife an extra pillow who is 7 months pregnant. A/C did not work, rooms were extremely hot. Unpleasant stay and I'm so sorry I subjected my wife to such hotel that fell below every expectation I had. I would not recommend staying here to anyone.

Try to avoid to stay in this hotel. On the scale from 1 to 10 I will rate this hotel at below zero. Room was ready three hours after arrival (I arrived at 4:00 pm. Room was ready at ~7:00 Toilet sit was totally broken. I immediately report it and someone came to check it pretty quick, but it took them 20 hours before they replace it. Level of noise from upstairs room very high. Do not make reservations at this hotel!!!

It is a very good hotel and in a good location! However, beds tend to be a full size instead of an actual Queen bed. In which my partner and I, dislike it and that was our issue at our stay. But, I do recommend it for a stay.

From what I remember about the Hotel Gregory since the last time I stayed there the place has gone down hill in a major way. The room looked dingy, smelled of cigarettes, poor lighting, two of lamps didn't work. Had to call maintenance. The two chairs were filthy, mold on the bottom of the shower. The showerhead barely worked. The television remote was not working. The volume button was not functioning. The breakfast was nothing special since most of the goods offered were not available for us all. We were a party of four. Coffee if you can believe was not even available. No fresh brewed or pods to make coffee in the room. Overall, a bad stay altogether. Nest time I'll find another hotel to stay .

Very Clean. Great Staff extremely helpful. Have stayed 2 different times in the past 2 months and would definitely stay with them again. Brooklyn location is very accessible to transportation. Great restaurants in area to try.

I had stayed here when they first opened decades ago and found it to be very nice...even a bit classy. Back then it was just the "Gregory Hotel", now it is part of the Best Western chain so things are a bit different. The hotel had a weird mix of out-of-town visitors and transients (NYC has a policy of placing homeless in hotels for the short-term). Nothing against people who've fallen on hard times but as hotel guest, it seemed like some of them had brought their personal, mental and emotional problems along for the stay. NYPD visited the hotel for two separate incidents while I was there; There was no violence and the police didn't take anyone away in handcuffs but it didn't foster a feeling of being safe. Also, my floor had the distinct scent of weed; this was not offensive to me, but...not really a good thing for a "family friendly" hotel. Decent bed, a few hairs in the sheets but I've seen that in 5-star hotels. Nice bathroom too. No microwave or fridge was kind of a bummer. Overall, it was just okay. If you can get a cheap price and need to stay in Brooklyn for a night or two, it's a good choice because Bay Ridge is a great neighborhood and the train is two blocks away so you can get anywhere you need to go in all five boroughs. If you are planning to stay long-term or if the room price is not on sale, you should probably find a better option.

We had a hockey tournament in this area and the location was perfect for us. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating.The breakfast was perfect for the kids and kept well stocked while a group of teenage boys ate. The room was not as clean as I would have expected. The bathroom floor needs a good sweeping/vacuuming and washing. While others in our group has no complaints my room smelled. It made each entry into the room unpleasant and sleeping difficult. The hotel was full so we could not change rooms.

Staff was very nice and professional. Hotel was clean. Location is excellent for travel in and out of NYC via Subway. The rooms are comfortable. The issue was noise at this location. Walls are thin, hotel guests were arguing and fighting at different times of the day and night. However, more importantly, there is a subway train that runs underground near the hotels foundation, this creates a rumble that starts out softly and increases to shaking point, then decreases. This happens about every 20 to 30 minutes. Woke me up everytime.

Courteous staff...acceptable and decent breakfast...clean...easy access to cafes and shopping locally...1 block to the R train (so easy access to Manhattan -- 45 minutes or so)...small but decent room...anyone from Brooklyn knows the challenges of on-street parking--typical here with paid 2-hour limits on avenue spots. Hotel has car valet service $25+/day--but beware!, some (many?) of their valets can not drive a stick-shift! No great shakes, but pleasant enough for a bed in Brooklyn.

Nice hotel but if ur driving its not a good idea because there no parking like that only 2 hr metter parking the only good night would be sat night if u park any other night u have 2 get up for 8am to avid a ticket. and I pay for Queen size bed and they gave me a full and said it was a queen and the ac unit is old and dose make a lot of noise so if ur a light sleep I wold not recommend it and room was a bit small

This was a family visit to NYC... We checked in very late and valet closed at 1am, so parking was a little hard to find. The hotel was nice and the staff was great. The rooms where outdated but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great!! I would definitely stay again.

The staff were very friendly. I was traveling for business, a little homesick, and the staff made me feel as if I was their family. They invited me to eat dinner with them both nights I was there, and they were extremely warm and friendly. I would definitely go back to see my new friends, they made my stay at this hotel a great experience!!

The kind front desk and parking valet staff was the best part of my stay. It's an economy hotel in Bay Ridge. They make it easy by providing valet parking at a reasonable cost. The rooms are fine -- nothing fancy at all. One of the electrical outlets by the bed didn't work.

First time experience staying in a Best Western hotel and it was a very good experience. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Breakfast was exceptional with a wide array of options from yogurt to pastries to waffles. Coffee was great too!

Needed to stay overnight in Brooklyn. The Best Western was in a convenient location and very reasonably priced. It was much nicer than I was expecting. Very clean, valet parking, breakfast, friendly staff.

We always stay at the Hotel Gregory when we visit family for Christmas - this was our 4th stay. Hotel staff go over and above to be helpful and welcoming. Hotel decor is very stylish and the buffet breakfast is a great plus. I do not hesitate to recommend

We found this nice hotel by chance. The staff is great with information and helpful tips, and go out of their way to make sure you have a pleasant experience. The neighborhood around the hotel is nice and has many things to do with restaurants and shops. The only downfall is it takes about 45 minutes to get uptown in NYC using the subway but is well worth it not having to find parking in the city. The hotel was clean and accommodating in anything you ask, the breakfast was not the best and if staying again I would hit up a breakfast place down the street.

Great Location and excellent staff. Check in was great. I prepaid for the room. I arrived at the hotel after 10pm and the woman at the front desk had my room and paperwork waiting for me. Breakfast was very good. Express check out was great

The Location is convenient. I was well received by a courteous staff at the reception desk. I did not like the Mattress on the bed as it was old and made sleeping quite uncomfortable. The bed sheets looked worn-out and were not changed after a day.

I stay at this hotel a lot & is very pleased by the whole staff. I give the hotel a 10.

I stayed for quiet a few nights and it was a great place. The subway is nearby, the rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. Special thanks to the front desk agent Anika, she was very polite and patient with me at check in. I stayed over for some days, and she upgraded me to ensure I could stay in the same room and even gave me a discount. She was an absolute please and so was the other agents.

Great location in Bay Ridge. Very Comfortable, clean and efficient..I got to see Fireman put out a fire as I walked outside feeling safe at night. I felt the welcome and will return as I am learning about the beauty and diversity of Brooklyn. All roads lead to Brooklyn.

Convenient hotel needs some updating in the rooms and some small repairs as well. Staff is excellent and accommodating. Valet parking is a bit expensive but there's really no parking otherwise. I use this hotel near my office headquarters and I like that you can walk or take mass transit everywhere. Lot's of places to eat as well. i would recommend it.

We were in Brooklyn for a wedding anniversary and were very happy with our stay at the Gregory. Nessa and Justine greeted us upon arrival and made us feel very welcomed. Other staff members were equally friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable; we had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was more than worthy. Valet parking is offered and necessary.

Great hotel great location, Nessa at the front desk is awesome. I do not have the breakfast however the rooms are nice. Internet is fast. I would recommend the king suite. There is a bar on site. Ornella at night is also a good worker. Paid valet

We stayed here for a wedding and aside from there being only one mirror in the room (in the bathroom) it was otherwise a nice enough hotel. Bed was very comfortable. Room was clean. One more mirror and definitely a full length mirror would have been helpful and is really the only thing standing between a 4 and a 5 rating. Breakfast was good and the option of valet parking (extra fee) was great since the hotel is located in an area where finding a parking space can be difficult.

Excellent location-close to shopping-running paths-restaurants & subway! We dined at fine diners, rented bikes from Bay Ridge Bikes for a day and travelled into Manhatten numerous times. Perfect hotel!great value.

Our floors were being done and needed a place to stay. This was very convenient and great value. Room was excellent condition and beds were very comfy. It was great they had breakfast. And staff were very friendly and helpful.

I remember this hotel from years ago..I checked it out on Google and found that it was renovated a couple of years ago. It's in I good area, near shopping and restaurants. Hotel was clean and staff very helpful.

It was a last minute reservation. I made it because it was the closest hotel to where I had to go. I went by others peoples reviews to book the room. I am glad I did. I loved the area because it was all in walking distance of food and shopping. The staff were the best. I would be going back again.

Ask for a high floor. Very nice Bay Ridge Hotel to visit family. I have stayed here before and always been satisfied with my room and the staff. Easy walk to subway and to shopping and dining.. I will stay here in the future when I come to Brooklyn.

This hotel is clean, quiet and close (2 minutes) to the tube system. It takes about an hour to get in to Manhattan on the tube, You will always get a seat on the tube and the trains are air conditioned. The hotel is on the main street and easy to find. Within 5 minutes walk there are fast food places to eat. Reception staff are helpful. We asked for a taxi to the airport and they sorted out the cheapest option for us. $40. They also sorted out a spare bed. The hotel was quiet of a night. In the rooms there is a lot of space compared with the UK. Beds are big and comfy, everything was clean. Breakfast was variations on ham and eggs, cereal and yoghurts, waffles and cakes with fruit juice and coffee. I'd have no problem staying there again, my wife, she didn't like the hour on the tube each way, but nor would she pay the x3+ prices of Manhattan hotels. Sometimes you can't please people.

We found this hotel on a Google search as we were getting ready to visit family in Bay Ridge - who live on 4th Ave! Not only was the hotel within walking distance it was much more than we expected. Very clean, quiet, friendly staff, modern, beautifully decorated (we especially loved the photos of New York), and valet parking made it a complete package. We will definitely be back!

Heavily researched locations in range of Coney Island, this spot did not disappoint at all. The staff are exceptional, the room was nice and neat - perfect for the 4 nights I stayed... wish it was longer. There are lots of food stops in walking distance also, stores!!! just steps away from the front door. This location is perfect for people who do not mind walking and also want to save on transportation, but also there are places minutes away by transport as well :). Will definitely revisit in the future.

This newly refurbished hotel has it's quirks (like window unit AC) but the cheerful staff is always ready to help and works had to accommodate your every demand. They will do anything for you - including immediate fix of erratic AC, getting boxes of ice upon request and ordering special bagels for breakfast. The hotel bar had the sweetest bartender (her name is Xeeys for a nickname) and we had a great time chatting with her. For the price (approx $224/night for 2 queen beds) it was a great find and we felt safe and well cared for. Restaurants and stores are a block away. So much better than paying $1000 per night for over the top luxury hotel when you can feel like family at this place. Highly recommended!

We stayed at this hotel to attend an event in the area and was pleasantly surprised. The room was a decent size and had all the basic amenities. Breakfast was actually better than expected. The hot food selection was limited to just eggs and sausages, but the bagel selection was decent. The waffle maker was a nice addition. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel is located in Bay Ridge in Brooklyn. If your purpose is to tour New York (which means mainly Manhattan) then it's a bit far, but there is a nearby subway access - you just need to ride about 15 stations. Otherwise the neighborhood has everything you need, including some good shopping. The hotel itself is relatively quiet. Just a single elevator, but only 4 floors. There was no bath but a decent shower area. WiFi reception in the room was pretty good. There was a small refrigerator, but it made some noise during the night, so we disconnected it. The window does not open. The bed was comfortable but squeaked a little - a thing that would be nice to fix. It seemed to squeak a little also in the adjacent rooms. There was a simple but nice breakfast, mainly carbohydrates (breads & pancakes etc.) with some yogurts, omelet and a single meat thing every morning (sausage or bacon).

We stayed in this basic hotel in Bay Bridge to be near an event that was happening in the area. We were pleasantly surprised by the rooms and the cleanliness of the hotel. Much better then we anticipated. The hotel is well priced and they include breakfast. I think there is some kind of parking deal if you ask and the staff is cheery and helpful. If you are using this hotel as a place to drop your stuff, sleep and go it is great. There is always coffee and water available in the lobby and you will find good food in the vicinity as well. A very diverse group of guests advised us that they found it easy to travel in and out of Manhattan from here as well.

We found the staff to all be friendly and nice. We were checked in without any problems. Our room was clean and well kept up. Air conditioner worked well. OK TV selection. Breakfast was good but sometimes ran out of food when really busy. Perhaps this needs to be addressed. All in all, though, a good place if the location is right for you. We will be back.

Overall a very good experience. Clean rooms helpfull staff...great location with lots of restaurants and shopping with in a mile radius...two block away from the subway station which took less than twenty minutes to reach Manhattan...free street parking around the property. I was recommended “Best Western” by my nephew. I choose Brooklyn, Bay Ridge. Hotel has good connectivity by Subway Metro train. Being new to NY, still I found travel to Times Square convenient by Subway. Travel was safe even in late evening. Breakfast was tasty and good. Front desk is friendly and helpful, Room cleaning service was good. Family liked it!

Great hotel in a very lively part of Brooklyn. The Subway and bus lines run very frequent. Shopping and dining options are plentiful in the neighborhood. Rooms are pretty up to date, clean and everything worked perfectly. The beds will give you one on the best nights' sleep ever! Breakfast is complimentary with your stay. Fresh bagels are served daily along with fresh fruit, eggs, sausages, waffles, coffee and a variety of pastries. There is something for everyone! There is also a bar/lounge that is opened every evening for guests. Parking at the location can become a bit tricky, however the hotel offers valet parking at a fee per night. Overall everyone is really friendly and polite.

The elevator was out of service for over 24 hours/ walked up 3 flights with luggage, no available working ice machine and poor customer service response. Other family members needed to switch rooms due to broken air conditioner. Arrived in NY and the temperature was 85 degrees. No available ice machine. The only one on the second floor of 4 story building was broken!

We had the misfortune of staying at the Gregory hotel from May 14-20, 2019. We had stayed at this older, tired hotel, several times in the past, due to its close location to our son. This time was a disaster! During check in, we were told the elevator was not working and we would have to use the stairs. My wife has crippling arthritis in both knees making it very painful and nearly impossible to climb stairs. I told the lady at the desk this and she was totally disinterested and was totally apathetic! I requested a room on the first floor and was told the only room available was with 2 double beds. When I made the reservation I requested a room with a king bed because I'm 6'7, and literally do not fit in a double bed. I told the lady this and again she said we could have the room on the first floor or a room on the 3rd floor with a king bed. I told her this wouldn't work and once again she repeated we could have the room with the double beds or the king room on the 3rd floor. At this point, a gentleman, who works there , came up and said to the lady, “what about 219 on the second floor? That room in not assigned”. She ignored him so he asked again. After a moment, he stepped over to a computer and checked on room 219 and told her it was not assigned. She apparently looked up room 219 and RELUCTANTLY gave us that room with a king bed on the second floor. I asked when the elevator would be repaired and she told me Friday. We checked in late on Wednesday and felt my wife would be able to deal with the stairs for those 2 days. As it turned out, the elevator was still not working when we checked out on Monday. Each time we were forced to climb the stairs, my wife had to stop several times because of the pain she was enduring. By the time we returned home, my wife was in terrible pain and has been forced to spend many hours in bed to allow the swelling in her knees to go down so she can walk. I firmly believe we should have been notified by phone or email the elevator was not working so we could have made other accommodations!!! At the very least, we should have been given a substantial discount because of the elevator situation!! The lady at the desk should not be working with guests because she has a VERY uncaring attitude! If at all possible, we will avoid this hotel !!!! One positive note, they have remodeled and updated the property.

We had an event in Bay Ridge so booked the Best Western based on location. The location could not be beat, but this hotel should be about $100-$200/night, not $350+. There was only 1 person working the front desk resulting in long lines for check in or anything needed from them. The elevators were not working, which meant we had to lug our children, strollers and anything else up 3 STEEP flights of steps each time we can in and out (they did assist with our luggage) and also our room keys were not always working and we ultimately got a master key to use (which we had to bring BACK down after we got in- extremely inconvenient) Ice machines also broken - so guess were we had to go to get ice?? BACK down the stairs. We paid over $400 for the room, not the quality and experience i would expect at that price point. If you need to stay in Bay Ridge, and everything is working, this would be a great hotel! But if you don't, i would look elsewhere. Valet and parking were great, as was the guys taking care of the luggage with the elevators down.

price is affordable for staying in May at brooklyn. however the elevator is down, I have to go up and down every single time. And the key is working poorly, so I need to let staff to open the door for me which is time consuming.

From my check in, I knew it was going to be a great stay. XC greeted me and opened the bar early for me. She made sure that I was taken care of. The front desk staff made sure daily that everything was well. I can't stress how satisfied I was with my stay.

My grandson and I stayed for 2 nights while he attended a wedding. The room was large and clean, the facilities were good, and the staff were very friendly and helpful at check in and checkout, and the bartender Xiomara was a real asset to the hotel, helping guests get together and really enjoy a homely atmosphere while away from home, as well as being a fount of local knowledge.

I stayed here for the very first time and I enjoyed it. Nee York is just beautiful. To be honest the best part of the hotel was the lovely bartender by the name of Xiomara she is so helpful, caring, welcoming and just down to earth. Whenever we had a question we would go to the front desk and we never got our answers there she would tell us "Go talk to the bartender she lives here." So we would talk to Xiomara and she always had an answer for us whether it was about directions to food she knew what she was talking about. Xiomara is the best and she made our trip very welcoming. I would stay here again just to hang and talk to Xiomara.

We live across the street. My family was put out of my apartment due to a leak in our bedroom. Naturally, I came over to find out if we would be able to stay the night. The women at the desk were not only empathetic to my situation, they really went above and beyond to accommodate my family's needs. We stayed in the two queen room. The room was very spacious with a fridge that had a freezer. We have a microwave in our room as well. This was a perfect solution for my family. The team went out of their way to have a play pen for my baby already in the room before we got there. They gave us extra blankets and the breakfast was the topping on the cake! They had a buffet of all different types of food, hot and cold. The breakfast attendant was friendly and attentive. Overall, this turned a horrible day into a great one. Not to mention the beds and pillows were the most comfortable I've experienced in a hotel in years! I highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Stayed for daughter's delivery, wee on pins and needles every day. The staff was absolutely Excellent! Great convenient location with wonderful restaurants close by, train station, too. Very clean and safe place to stay short or long term.

Room was adequate but rug was not swept in the 15 days that I was there. Housekeeping and maintenance issues could be easily remedied and would make a big difference. Location was excellent for my purposes.

Stayed two nights to attend a cousin's wedding. The location was perfect as it was within walking distance of where our family lives. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a good selection (eggs, waffle maker, toast, bagels, cereal, tea, yogurt, fruit, pastries, & juice). The breakfast and housekeeping staff were hard working & polite. Our front desk manager, Gehad, was very helpful in getting our check-in taken care of and with helping us locate a lost ring after we had checked out.

Had another great stay at Best Western Gregory Hotel. Great location, friendly staff, clean hotel in the heart of Bay Ridge Brooklyn for a good price. I love doing a weekend here and enjoying all of the local restaurants, bars and shops.

Extremely convenient hotel. Cold water with lemon always available in lobby. Breakfast provided reasonable choice of hot and cold items. Staff were quick to refill as necessary, esp. weekends. All staff almost abnormally eager to please. Great location--many cafes, restaurants, food markets, stores in close walking distance. Pleasant area and subway nearby for access to Manhattan and rest of Brooklyn.

It is really the only option anywhere near our son's residence. A decent Best Western but nothing special. Price is not bad for NYC. Location is very boring unless as we do you have family nearby. Takes a very long time by subway (45 minutes) to get into Manhattan.

Located in south Brooklyn, stayed for 3 nights. Reasonably priced and new remodeled rooms. Nice breakfast and friendly staff. Quiet neighborhood and quiet hotel. Overall a great stay. Great valet parking option as well, would definitely stay there again. Thanks.

use the BW Gregory Hotel when we visit my daughter over Christmas - this was our 3rd stay - the staff is very efficient and helpful - rooms are clean and comfortable. valet parking is a nice feature since parking in Brooklyn is not good. complimentary breakfast is very good and nicely presented - I do not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

It's not car friendly. Valet parking, not sure of the charge...$15 a day, not sure. Rooms are v small, but clean and comfortable. Rooms facing 4th Ave can be noisy. Breakfast at 630am is average. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Very nice meeting rooms. They have a bar, cash only. Restaurants within walking distance. First time I've seen a charge ($1.50) for in room 'safe usage'! One time I was charged $15 a day 'resort fee'. It was a nice hotel, had a nice golf course and great outdoor pool. Clerk said that's the reason for the charge ... I said it's December in Minneapolis I can't golf or swim! He smiled ... he took the charge off. I think they would too ... $1.50 for 'safe usage' is chintzy. Other than that it's ok.

Overall a nice hotel. Room was nice and comfortable but hot water for shower was not too good. Staff at front desk was nice and helpful and breakfast guy Gary was also very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping however was not great. R train and bus was right there so very convenient to get around. A pleasant first time experience for me.

Stayed there on October 2018 for a few nights as a business traveler. The building was an old residential structure that has turned into a hotel, and I admit they probably did the best they could to make it a hotel in a busy Bay Ridge, Brooklyn neighborhood. Regardless of the room's shortcomings and the keys that worked only occasionally, this is not all that incontinent place. There is everything in the area and any restaurant of your interest can be a short walk away. The room besides the little musty smell was OK, the bed comfortable and sleep quality was really good. The HVAC which was only a little window unit left a lot to be desired. The wifi also worked well. The free breakfast was about average for such hotels but sufficient. My ride to JFK at 6 AM was arranged by the hotel who uses a private such service. It was on time, professional, and reasonably priced. There is not often that I visit Brooklyn but if I were to be in the area, I would not mind to use this hotel again and choose a better room.

Checked into this Brooklyn hotel on 11/5/18. The hotel itself was unimpressive. It was difficult to find because of some construction in front that occludes the signage. Also the Front Desk and valet service can use some refinement... It's saving grace is it's wonderful, accommodating staff of which two are well worth mentioning: Darlene, the bartender was super friendly and welcoming. Tired and weary from the day's work, my colleagues and I were impressed with her 'can-do' attitude. She went over and above by not only recommending a restaurant but also sending us off with a personal note to the restaurant staff. Needless to say, we were treated like princesses and even got free desserts! The other is Gary, this morning's kitchen staff who went out of his way to make sausages for me when he found out that I preferred them over the bacon that was being served. Not only did he make them within minutes, but he served them to me at the table. What a genteel way to treat the guests! This hotel is worth a visit if only for the surprisingly outstanding service from these two individuals. Much thanks for making us feel 'at home' if only for little while...

I enjoyed my stay at the Gregory Hotel. I grew up in Bay Ridge. You could say it was our extended back yard. If you were or are from the area you know what I mean. My family would sometimes go to the hotel to dine for special events. My recent stay at the hotel was because I was in the area for a reunion and decided it would be nice to stay over rather than make the late night trip home. I was somewhat apprehensive about staying because of some of the reviews and not knowing much about the hotel after all these years. Staying was a great idea. I was not disappointed. The room was clean. The bathroom has ample space. The room faced 4th Avenue and was very quiet. The reception staff was cordial and I checked in with no problems. Breakfast was fine and the woman attending to the breakfast area did a good job. There are plenty of places to dine and shop in Bay Ridge. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to old friends to do the same if necessary.

I spent almost a week at the Best Western Gregory Hotel in Brooklyn where I never have been there, I mean the neighborhood. Really nice place to stat, beautiful neighbor and the Hotel is in the middle of. Very good breakfast and good bar. Staff was very nice at all time. I recommend it for family trips which was my case.

One of the best Hotels I have ever Stayed in NYC, I had a great time there. Great location for me as I don't mind the half-hour subway ride into Manhatten. Great size room, Coffee and water in the Lobby after hours, fridge and a microwave if you require it. easy walking distance to downtown Bay Ridge and all the shops & restaurants. You even get a great choice for Breakfast. The hospitality of the receptionist who checked me was 2nd to none she is the happiest most helpful person I have ever met. and the Gentleman who sorts the Breakfast couldn't be more obliging or happy to help either. If I can't stay with friends this is definitely the Hotel I would choose.

I stayed here with my niece in a double bed room it was nice, great Staff & nice breakfast, I would recommend staying here, the area was nice & safe, shops are 4 minutes away from Hotel, Century 21 etc, if you are going there for shopping it's great, plenty of food places, it's also near the subway with easy access to Times Square etc, maybe takes 40 minutes to get there, I loved this area & I will go back to this Hotel next year & bring my friends.

There are positive and negatives about this property, but it's definitely seen better days. The rooms are very VERY outdated, with limited power outlets and poor shower conditions (water pressure, quality of products). Breakfast was very mediocre. The lobby had very little to no information about tourist attractions in Manhattan. The area isn't the safest to be walking around after dark. The hotel itself is at 86th Street, which is the 2nd to last R train subway stop...so a minimum of an hour to to Manhattan. The staff were okay, but no one stood out as providing outstanding service and would complain about situations while riding the elevators with guests. Overall, It's definitely a 2-3 star hotel, but needs a facelift.

Everything was just perfect. Friendly staff at the reception, rich breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausages, juices, cornflakes, coffee, yogurt, french toast and ... The rooms were large and included a TV and coffee machine. The bathroom is large too and ... the shower was modern and perfect. I really loved my stay @ Gregory!

CREDIT CARD SCAM ALERT!!! We stayed at the hotel 5 months ago in April and it was an ok stay- nothing special. We used their car valet service and at the end of our stay were provided with a receipt that we had paid for everything. Few days ago (in mid August) I received a call from their manager saying that our card was not charged for the valet service and she wanted me to authorize the payment and provide new card information since my original card had expired at the end of May. I was dumbfounded and amazed and said that I would NOT authorize such charges 5 months after we had stayed and had been provided a receipt. She proceeded to say that there had been a mistake at the front desk and the card was not charged which I don't feel that it is really my responsibility. I would understand completely if it was a week, 2 weeks or even a month later but 5 months later is just pure madness and might I add, highly unprofessional and suspicious. So our conversation ended with me saying very calmly that I do NOT authorize any charges on my card at this time and she said: "Ok, bye!". Well, I looked at my bank account today and I see the charge from this hotel that was submitted yesterday (5 months later). I do not know how they got my credit card details because the original card I had used for this transaction is expired. I realize that the credit card number always stays the same and only expiration dates and codes on the back change so they must have guessed my expiration date until they got them right. This is so unprofessional over $27 charge. I would not recommend giving them any of your credit card details because obviously they feel like they can authorize a payment at their own will at any time that they desire even if it is them who made a mistake at the check-out counter. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Need better training and a better cleaning crew for rooms and the hotel property itself. Not professional enough. Could use some uniforms to tighten up the place visually. Pork products for breakfast would be appreciated, unless you officially designate a religious order for the place.

We stayed for one night to visit friends nearby. It was a good choice for our need. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean except for a hair on the wall in the shower, which is a little disturbing for me. Other than that the room was fine, they offer free breakfast which we didn't do but is rare in nyc. I would stay again.

The hotel location is very convenient. The R train is right down the block. Parking is on the street which is already hard to do. Many bars and restaurants along the main avenues. Elevated building yet at times you can still hear the R train below. Not bad the higher you go and in the back of the building. I have not lived in the area over 30 years but have a need sometimes to return. St Bernadette Grammar School 50th Reunion this year and have plans to stay. They set up a block for us to stay.

Conveniently located. Clean. Pleasant staff - seems some parts are updated and others are not. Since this is a national chain I would expect carpet upgrades, etc. but when I mentioned it they said it's on the list. Will stay here again. Good value.

We visited Bay Ridge from Florida and The Gregory was exactly as advertised. When we return to Brooklyn in the future we will book a room at The Gregory again. The hotel could use some new carpeting, and the bed was not very firm, like most hotels but otherwise it is a very nice NYC hotel with a great staff in a safe Brooklyn location.

This hotel is clean and in a great location. Our difficulty was with check in. We were in town for a funeral. I booked 3 rooms on two different reservations. For some reason the desk staff could not comprehend this. They found the first room, swiped my card, and then tried to send us on our way. When I repeated that I had another reservation with 2 more rooms, they found that reservation, and swiped my card again. Then gave me a key for one more room. I then had to point out that there was a third room on the same reservation. It took over 30 minutes to check in, at 10pm at night. All the while my 90 year old parents were waiting (one standing, one in a wheelchair) to go to their rooms, which they could not do without my help. There was no sense of urgency on the part of the staff. I requested a n accessible room in my reservation, but none were available. Of the three rooms, one was larger than the other. I didn't realize this and eventually sent my parents to their room with one of my children, only to find out later that the wheelchair did not fit further than the entryway. By the time I found out the size difference, they had already struggled though getting into bed in the very cramped space. It would have been nice if the staff had pointed out that one of the rooms would be a better than choice for them than the others. Additionally, when I asked about parking, I was told that there weren't any valet spots left. After I sent my family out in a thunderstorm to find parking, they suddenly found two spots. In short, I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the hotel. I felt that the staff was inept, which was very difficult after a long day of traveling with the elderly.

Clean, comfortable and great service. Not far from subway station, and in the middle of Brooklyn's Bay Ridge neighborhood. Plenty of places to eat and shop nearby. Although we arrived too early in the day to check in at that moment, we appreciate being able to store our luggage there while we ran a few errands before checking in later that day. We were also able to keep our luggage at the hotel for several hours after check out time before having to head back to the airport.

Had everything I needed for a short business trip to Brooklyn- quick check-in, fast internet, comfortable and clean rooms, stores and restaurants located 1 block away in either direction (3rd and 5th Avenues), coffeemaker microwave and refrigerator in room, better than average buffet breakfast with all the usuals plus scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. Would definitely stay here again.

Clean rooms, excellent breakfast, friendly and accommodating staff. 2 blocks from subway - easy travel to Manhattan, Coney Island, etc. Lots of great restaurants and shops within walking distance. Safe neighborhood with lots of culture!

Check in was slow understaffed you could tell. My shower door was broken my room was fine breakfast kinda sucked begals we're good, the bar was closed at or bye 11. There were hookers sneaking in and out and some cagey hood rats.its my 3rd time there. I don't think I will stay again so all in all not good The bed sucked to and the heat sounded like a jet plane. Plus big problem absolutely no parking to unload your stuff . You have to usually park at least 4-6 blocks away so I gotta say I wasn't happy.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at your Hotel Gregory over the Christmas weekend. We are natives of Bay Ridge but now live in Florida. Your hotel has been beautifully renovated and it was a pleasure staying here while visiting my relatives.

We wanted to stay close to NYC at Christmas time, and found a fantastic hotel in the southern end of Bay Ridge. The staff was tremendous - from the cheerful breakfast room manager to the quiet and efficient housekeeping staff. While I prefer queen size beds, the double beds were very comfortable and the temperature in the room was easy to control.

This hotel is convenient to shopping, restaurants, transportation. However, the room had stained drapes, poor lighting, dusty & dirty headboard and a tiny bathroom for a "king suite". The price was high for the Christmas weekend, so not a good value. Also, we had to reset the room key every day - a real nuisance.

we stay at Best Western Gregory Hotel when we visit my daughter on Christmas Eve - location is great for us. staff has always been very helpful and courteous - our check in this visit was quick and courteous - rooms are very nice and bathroom has been updated with a nice walk in shower. - valet parking is a plus since parking in the area can be challenging. very nice buffet breakfast - food was replenished as it was used - the server was extremely pleasant

This was not a good experience the staff had terrible customer service. I called before I got there and asked was there early check in. They told me I could pay $60 to check in early. When I got there after traveling for 24 hrs to get there this was not the case. They offered us breakfast which was nice but we slept in the breakfast room nd lobby for over 3 hrs. This was very embarrassing. I heard people checking out of their rooms early but they still refused to put us in a room even though I was willing to pay the extra fee. We literally only spent 1hr in the room we payed for. They seemed to not care at all about out concern when we talked to them about it.

I change there for my wedding day. Ask the frint desk to fix my room for professional pictures and she said to ask someone else. Ask the cleaning lady she said is wasn't her room seactio. I had to do my own room and ir was dusty i was afraid my dress will get dirty.

Great hotel in a great neighborhood and only 40 minutes to Manhattan. Very comfortable, clean and safe. Housekeeping team is great and friendly. The front desk person Gehah is kind and accommodating. I highly recommend.

The room was clean, large and very nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable. Noisy from the street noise and thin walls/floors. No facecloths in the bathroom. Front desk staff was nice and helpful. Breakfast was what you'd expect for free. Avoid the eggs and sausage.

For the price of this room in Brooklyn NY, this is a good hotel. It is not fancy and in need of a redo. The floor layout is strange and confusing. We had a chance to speak with three of the staff at the front desk and only one of them was professional, pleasant and helpful. The other two seemed totally disinterested in their job. The complimentary breakfast was unremarkable.

The hotel has a good location, having restaurants and stores nearby, a subway station is located 2 blocks away from the hotel that will connect you with all the things that you can do in the city. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast is good. The only cons about this hotel would be that sometimes you can hear the noise made from the trains of the subway.

Perfect location for our family event a block away. Parking is offsite with a valet. Staff was very helpful. It took some getting used to when the subway runs under the hotel. The rumbling took a while to get used to.

The Gregory is located in the heart of Bay Ridge Brooklyn, one of the most lovely and picturesque neighborhoods of NYC. The rooms are modern, clean and pleasant. The service is great. Upon arriving the woman at the desk welcomed us cheerfully and gave us all the info we needed for a restful and enjoyable stay. They have valet parking at an additional cost of $25 per night which really came in handy as Bay Ridge street parking in that area can be tough. The hotel is located near public transportation (subway and bus) plus there are plenty of car services around. There are no shortage of eating places of all kinds of food and price range. The hotel includes breakfast which offers an ample selection of hot and cold dishes. The Gregory is located near the business center of Bay Ridge, but walk a few blocks down and you'll be in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods with lovely homes and harbor views. Can't wait to return.

Very clean, safe, convenient to the subway and shopping areas, a good place to stay. Other Best Westerns I have stayed at have had swimming pools but this one doesn't. That's the only negative comment I have. Probably, the hotel is too small and a swimming pool would take up a lot of room needed for other things.

The Gregory is an updated hotel in Brooklyn. The room were good and the renovations made the stay very good.The breakfast room was awesome and gave us a good start on our day to see NYC. Would stay there again in the future.

Very clean, moderately priced( for New York !) hotel. Centrally located in an area with no other nearby hotels with easy access to restaurants, transportation and residential neighborhoods. Includes adequate breakfast with good overall service by staff.

The Best Western Gregory is a good choice if you are looking for a convenient location, centrally located to most of Brooklyn, as well as easy access to Manhattan via subway or car. The hotel staff was quite pleasant and the rooms were neat and upgraded. The only issue is that (probably because it's an older location) there was a slight musty odor. Not too offensive, but you could notice it. Continental breakfast was sufficient, but there were plenty of options within walking distance. valet parking is available, but not guaranteed. Upon checking out, there was a sign at the front desk informing guests checking in that the parking was full. Street parking is available but difficult to find. Also, do note that you can feel (and hear) the subway pass under the building about every 8 - 10 minutes. I'm a native so it didn't bother me.

We had a nice stay in this hotel. Clean bedrooms, very close to the subway station and nice breakfast. Not to mention they have a caring staff, specially Gary, who is responsible for the organization of the breakfast. Amazing cost x benefit. Recommended.

Nice getaway. In retrospect for those visiting from South Florida it reminds me of quaint Hotels in Coral Gables, and Landmarks Hotels of South Beach. The Staff has great rapport, and the hotel location is excellent for local shopping. The access to public transportation re bus and subway is just a block away. The Brooklyn location is in a heavy pedestrian area that is active late night if you prefer not to travel into Manhattan. Great location to consider for Focus Groups, Business Meetings, and Conventions.

Grandson stayed at motel during 3 day visit it was wonderful to see him and his mother, motel attendant was friendly they 1st gave me room with no fridge or microwave when I ask for another room that had them both they only could accommodate me with a room with the fridge which was acceptable to me overall everything was good

Friendly staff. Spartan bar. Very clean and comfortable rooms. I booked this hotel while traveling on business and would definitely go back. The beds were comfortable. While my room was on the small side, the bathroom was very clean and modern. Even the in room coffee was great, having enough coffee for three cups instead of the usual two.

it's a nice hotel only the parking issue that i did like but it is in a good location where there are a lot of shop and restaurants that are not expensive i think i will stay there again i recommend this hotel.

I booked 2 suite rooms here for my wedding weekend so I'd have somewhere to get ready and Gehad, the person who booked my stay messed up very bad and only booked one suite for one night instead of 2 suites for two nights. I called two times on this issue and Kenneth was very rude, saying a stated my case already but there's nothing he can do. Very uncaring and not understanding about the situation at all. Knowing that the staff made this HUGE mistake on my WEDDING weekend he did not offer a way to fix the situation or any compensation for their mistakes. On top of all this I left Richard Murphy, the general manager, 2 messages which he never returned. The only employee there that has some sense of what she was doing was Kim. So thank you Kim for being understanding and trying to help in any way you could, but I would suggest looking for a job elsewhere cuz working with people like Kenneth, Gehad, and Richard is going to make you look bad and make you job impossible and harder.

Great location and value! Wonderful Staff!! Explore Bay Ridge & Brooklyn on foot and the subway is just blocks away. The atmosphere of a small town in the big city! Excellent Restaurants nearby. Fitness centre just down the street - visit Dolphin Fitness and get special rate for hotel guests.

Great place to stay near all kinds of transportation-both subway and buses were in walking distance. We would hop on a train every morning and go to Manhattan. Before we would go sight seeing we would enjoy a large selections of breakfast items-bagels waffles muffins etc. The Staff was especially helpful we would get help with places to see and how to get there. Would stay there again without any doubt

When entering the room the first thing we noticed was the terrible musty smell. Then on top of one of the pillows was an enormous bug. I have never experienced anything like this. I was extremely disappointed and will never return to this hotel.

Very nice location. Parking can be a problem if valet parking is full. Close to lots of restaurants, shopping and subway!! Friendly and accommodating staff! We had a very pleasant stay here. This was my 1st trip to NY and I was amazed at how close the subway was. It made it very convenient to visit the 911 Memorial, Times Square and other major attractions.

Convenient to where we wanted to be. Clean comfortable room. Above average breakfast with delicious bagels! Friendly staff. Only negative was it took 3 requests to get extra pillows. Would stay here again.

This hotel is very conveniently located, its right off the subway! Very easy to get to coming from the city. I was there for one night and I had a suite. The bed was very comfortable. The only thing I didn't like was the shower pressure wasn't the best.

We enjoyed our stay here. Breakfast was served at no charge from 6:30 to 9:30 am. Rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable. Check in staff was very accommodating. They have valet parking for $25 per night.

Love the decor very modern but not so dated. Great room very spacious and room to hang or put clothes in drawers. Breakfast we liked plenty to drink and lots of bread choices along with fruit oatmeal etc. Valet parking is offered for a fee and lobby area great for seating realaxing and people watching.

My second stay at this hotel was in early July. My family prefer this hotel because it close to the subway, restaurants and shopping. There was an issue with my credit card which was accidentally charged although I prepaid with a third party. Kenneth was awesome with getting in contact with my credit card company to resolve the issue. Jihad is great as well and showed empathy and concern. This is our go to hotel when staying in Brooklyn.

Stay overnight to visit Coney Island and see a Brooklyn Cyclones game and watch the fireworks. Very short trip, traffic was a challenge on a Friday late afternoon. Overall a very good time and great place to go and check out.

Rooms smell musty and bedding is not soft or comfortable. There was hair in the eggs during breakfast. Staff was nice and accommodating and for the New York area the rooms were a nice size. Located near a train station and area feels safe.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Gregory Best Western. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly. I recommend this hotel if you want to stay in Brooklyn NY. It's close to the subway and within walking distance to restaurants.

Great Hotel in a great location in Brooklyn. My sorority sisters and I stayed at this hotel to be close to a friend that lived in Brooklyn. This hotel had everything we needed and was closed to a great shopping/restaurant area as well as several transportation options to Times Square and many tourist areas. Very quiet and safe area which allowed us to walk to shopping and excellent restaurants.

Good value, convenient location for visiting upper and lower manhattan, whatever you need is right there in the area of the hotel. Many restaurants within walking distance, convenient the the subway I would stay here again.

Great Location For Brooklyn Hotel, Rooms were spacious and very clean, hotel staff was great and complimentary breakfast was a great bonus. For the price you really get a tremendous value. Definitely booking our rooms here for future visits to Brooklyn.

We returned to a "new" hotel with nice modern guest rooms, a new breakfast and bar area. Great food and friendly service, worthy of a Best Western. We found parking on the street. Convenient to subway, Verrazano Bridge, and great local restaurants within walking distance. This is a very safe area of Brooklyn called Bay Ridge.

I think it was wonderful and quite. The area was clean and respectable. Mixed community and friendly atmosphere. I don't drink but a mini bar would be delightful to have in the room, my wife wanted a glass of wine but was not available.

The Gregory Hotel has been in Brooklyn many years under various ownership. It is now under Best Western and has received a much needed facelift. The lobby is modern and there is no wasted space now. The rooms are updated with comfortable beds. It is spotless and welcoming. What a treat to find in Bay Ridge after a long trip.

I have stayed at the Gregory numerous times over the years. My most recent visit was, as usual, very enjoyable. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, the room is clean and comfortable and the breakfast is delicious - as are the fresh Brooklyn bagels that are included.

Air conditioner was separated from wall.Rugs were not very clean. Room price was absurd for what they offered. They wanted a $ 25.00 surcharge for parking your car.There was a chemical odor in the bedding. Had to sleep on top of bedding.I could go on but it won't matter. Rather sleep on a park bench

First there was no parking at the hotel. Elevator didn't work so we had to climb 4 flights of stairs every time we came or went. The stairwell was dirty and didn't even want to touch the handrail. Breakfast was terrible. No fresh fruit salad. It was a fruit cup. Everything needed filling. Rugs were dirty and had Togo down 5 floors for ice.

Made reservation at 10:00 AM, arrived at 5:00 pm, spent thirty minuets registering, and then told the elevator does not work, I would have to carry my luggage to the second floor; the bar was closed because there was no ice. When I reacted with displeasure, I was told, “do you want the room or not” this time in the evening in rush hour New York, what choice did I have. When I asked for directions getting from Brooklyn to New York, I was told it would take one hour and forty minuets, it takes twenty. The next day I informed the desk I would be leaving at 4:00 in the morning and would like my car. When this request was refused, Emery stated she was the only one working and she was the supervisor. I said in the morning I would get my own car. When I called in the morning Emory told me the security guard was not happy but he got the car parked in front. I thanked the security person, and tipped him, which I received no reply. Loaded my car, drove four blocks onto the expressway where my tire immediately went flat, almost causing a terrible accident with my family in the car. Three hours later I found a station to fix the tire. At this time I was shown a three inch rivet with the sleeve in my tire, I was told this was done intentionally and had to be shot into the tire with a battery charged tool. In the light of day I also discovered a key scratch across the bottom of the car. I immediately called the hotel and spoke with Emery and accused the security Guard and her for expressing her anger about our conversation with security. She assured me that if he did it she had no knowledge, but he would be fired. I truly doubt this, but did express a number of ways I might be able to prove this criminal act. I am hoping a camera in front of the hotel or in the parking lot will show this act being committed and identify the offender, at which time I will pursue criminal and civil action. I would also like to add that I am a 100 percent disable military person and have never been treated so badly.

I stayed here in July and September. The place is clean and staff was so friendly. This is one of the nicest places to stay. Also so close to shopping and restaurants. I would recommend this hotel. The breakfast was great. I so enjoyed staying here and would stay there again.

We received lackluster service. Our reservation was disregarded and our room was given away and we were not contacted at all prior to this happening. A bug crawled up my business partner's luggage in the lobby. We were forced into a room with only one bed so I had to sleep on the pull out couch. We were there on business and incredibly disappointed. They did not apologize for the inconvenience and simply called us to let us know that the room did offer a pull out couch. It was not a great experience overall and I was very disappointed.

Was told when booking hotel that they had a full bar with tv's on the premises. They sure did but it was not open all weekend. I was told the bartender was sick. REALLY!!!!!! ALSO, VERY SLOW AT CHECK IN UNDERSTAFFED

We went to NY for a wedding. Great location. Everything was in walking distance. Lots of restaurants and shopping. Train station is two blocks away. Room was just right for our short stay. Staff was very friendly and professional. I would stay at this hotel again.

We had a great experience at this hotel the staff and all the workers were very pleasant. I would highly recommend this location. It was very clean and affordable. The only problem they didn't have enough wash towels. Outside of that, it was a good stay.

We have stayed at the Gregory whenever we are in to visit family. The new remodel is lovely and modern. The rooms feel new and the lobby is so spacious and welcoming. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. You can't beat the location and quality for the price.

After the renovation it became very good. Rooms are good. Pillows need to be replaced it is not comfortable at all. Location is good, easy to go to Manhattan. Basic breakfast as not so much varieties. Front desk staff are good. Room service is good daily clean and replace the used towels.

This is my second stay at this hotel and I love it! Convenient to my family's home it works out fine. The neighborhood has everything at your fingertips The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is a plus. Will come back again and again.

This was an average visit. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. the room was very basic, but fine for an overnight stay. Our "room with a view" according a website used to make the reservation? The view was of a back alleyway. Not scenic at all. The free breakfast was again very basic, but appreciated since we were in a rush. The free internet did not work according to a family member staying in another room.

The rooms are fairly priced, the breakfast was above average, and the location is within walking distance of many bars and restaraunts. There is a bar in the lobby, but it was not open either of the 2 nights I stayed. Shower floor was dirty. I would have felt better if it was stained, but I was able to clean it with a napkin and water. Air conditioner was quite noisy. 25$/day valet service was poor. I was told to call about 15 min before I wanted the vehicle, but I waited over 40min and was late for my meeting. The next day I called 45 min in advance thinking I was doing them a favor but was made to feel like I was a bother. If I had to stay there again, it wouldn't be the end of the world, but I would probably try a different option if there was something available.

All of us had a great stay at a great price. The staff was very friendly. Our room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. We all enjoyed our our breakfast too. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks.

Although over priced, the bed was comfortable, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was decent,I booked it when I arrived Brooklyn because I didn't know the area, I was there for a doctors appointment and wanted to be as close as possible, got uber from airport and choose this site....actually in traffic.

We stayed at the Gregory while visiting family in New York. The hotel was just perfect for our needs. The location was near where we had to be and was just two blocks from the subway stop. That made it easy to go everywhere. Check-in was smooth and the staff was very nice. We never had a problem that they couldn't solve. We were given a room on the fourth floor facing the street. We didn't have any problems with noise or with the subway. Our room was comfortable although a bit small. We had a queen bed and it was very close to the bureau at the foot of the bed. It made it difficult to move around the room. However, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean and housekeeping was fine. Be aware that you will be charged extra for the room safe unless you bring it up at check out. The breakfast buffet was very nice. There was both hot and cold foods. A make-it-yourself waffle machine was available and there were also scrambled eggs and either bacon or sausages each morning. They also had bagels and rolls, yogurt and fruit cups, cold and hot cereal, and juices, coffee, and tea. Everything was well stocked except for the coffee. The coffee carafes were quite small and were replenished enough. All-in-all we were very happy with the hotel and will stay there again.

Staying at this location was great. It is between sunset park and bensonhurst. The bay ridge area has so much night life. It is also right next to the R train where you may take to the beautiful city of Manhattan.

Right in the neighborhoods of Brooklyn! Easy access to public transportation and local and personal eateries. Staff was very professional and coutious. My room was very clean and odorless. Lounge area and breakfast areas were both very clean and what you would expect from a fine establishment!

We stayed here a few years back before the remodel and had an amazing customer service experience. This trip we were very impressed with the total remodel, very welcoming lobby and nice upgrades to the rooms. Our front counter check in experience was as good as last time, Jennifer was friendly and very helpful. She let us know about breakfast and that there was still a bar but only open till 9 pm. Our room on the fourth floor was nice, clean and comfortable. Everything we needed. The night staff was not as friendly as the morning staff or the staff from our previous visit, matter of fact she had headphones on and wasn't even aware of us returning to the hotel. Never looked up at us, we could have been robbers and she wouldn't have know it. Next morning Jennifer was back and the young man cleaning the breakfast tables was helpful with getting me ice for my cooler. Parking is on your own but we had no trouble finding parking each time right out front, just have to make sure to fed the meter by 9 am. All in all a lovely stay

i recommend it. it is conveniently located close to shopping, dining and the subway downtown Brooklyn. rooms are very clean and comfortable. staff is very accommodating and helpful. lobby is very clean and neat. outside of building always clean and inviting.

I was very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The room was spacious. I was surprised to see a coffee maker, microwave, and mini refrigerator in the room. There was a hot breakfast included which was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay there again when I visit New York.

I stayed at this hotel with my family in September 2016 and booked again for an upcoming trip to NYC. Overall I had a good experience. Friendly staff, clean room, and bathroom. Breakfast options were better compared to the continental option other hotels in the same class provide. Friendly neighborhood with shopping, restaurants and near the subway.

We went to Brooklyn for a family event. Overall the experience was good. I wish parking was included. Staff was friendly. The breakfast bar needs a lot of improvement. We had to instantly ask for supplies like coffee cups to pancake syrup to tea to hot water.

We had a king room while visiting family in Bay Ridge. Convenient location with easy access to the city. Our room was immaculate with a brand new bathroom featuring a walk in shower. Bar in the lobby and breakfast in the morning (breakfast included with room price)

We got in at 8:30 pm and while we were checking in I asked about the valet parking. They said they were full. So I had to walk two blocks away to park my car. That was one of the reasons I picked this hotel. My husband went to use the bathroom in our room and the inside handle was broken so he couldn't get out. That was nerve racking since I travel alone a lot. Otherwise ok hotel

This best Western has a small friendly lounge. They also have a good full breakfast. Clean, easy friendly place. If you are looking for somewhere not to expensive in the city, try this. Seems to be a safe area.

The hotel is in an older building with the interior completely remodeled nicely. It is clean with a helpful staff. The local streets have traffic but nothing like the traffic in Manhattan. The hotel is near the Verrazano bridge. There is a nearby subway station for the R train which runs to Manhattan. The train is not an express when running under 4th Avenue.

great hotel in one of the best neighborhoods in Brooklyn.. clean ready staff always looking to help. the lounge bar was a great time to get a drink and relax in the evening before heading up to the room. breakfast hours need to POSTED in the dining area as they change during the week days. also they should have 24/7 coffee available in the lobby as most BW do. The dining room staff comes out 15 minutes before they shut breakfast and start watching their watches and as soon as the breakfast hour is to shut down they are wisking off all the coffee pots and fruit cereal and in less than 2 minutes there is nothing left.

Had an excellent time. Member of group grew up in Brooklyn so he shared his knowledge of the area. Lots to see and do. Just wish the weather could have been a little better! Overall we had a wonderful experience. Subway ride was an adventure for us, coming from a rural area.

Recently remodeled, pleasant staff, very clean, nice breakfast bar. The first night was very quiet but the second night the person in the room above us walked like they weighed 500+ lbs walking across the floor and then below us in the lounge area the next morning, was a church group with a band playing that you could hear very clearly. But all in all, a very good stay and I would stay there again.

One of the cleanest hotels I've been to and the staff is very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast has fresh bagels from a local bakery every morning along with many other choices. Mr. Murphy should be proud.

about it is the name. Beyond the small, rundown rooms, the air conditioning is so noisy we had to shut it down in order to sleep. The subway rattles by underneath and can be felt, even on the third floor. The ice maker, across the hall from our room, sounds like a jack hammer. The sheets are scratchy and they are chintzy with the towels. The staff is nice enough, but they've got major challenges here. The smokers, puffing away in front of the entrance, are unwelcoming. $1.50 for the safe usage fee, when we didn't even use it, is a highly questionable practice.

Upon arrival the desk staff were not very friendly, I felt we were an inconvenience to them. They were resurfacing the street and we couldn't park anywhere on the street so we were forced to pay $25.00 for valet parking. The rooms were the size of a closet and the bathroom was very small. The air conditioner worked great and was quiet and the bed one bed in the room was comfortable but the other was hard as a rock. The breakfast was terrible and coffee tasted like dirty black tar. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone

They charge $1.50/pay for their in room safe, regardless if you use it. They will remove it if you complain, but i am guessing most guests don't and they are making more money. Our room had an in window a/c but once you close the curtain you lose the cool air. I guess the air exchange unit broke and they replaced it with a cheap in window a/c held in place with cardboard and duct tape. Very unprofessional.

The hotel is comfortable, clean and convenient while the staff members are pleasant, and very helpful. Begin the day with a healthy complimentary breakfast that includes cereal, eggs and fresh Brooklyn bagels. The rooms are spacious and comfortable while the hotel location is within easy walking distance to the subway as well as to an almost limitless number of excellent restaurants. I have stayed here at least half a dozen times and I look forward to my next visit.

We stayed here for three nights and it was wonderful. The renovations were tastefully done and the place is very clean. My only complaint is the breakfast. They stated it was open until 10am, however when we got there at 9an there was no more bagels or eggs. I was told by the girl at the front desk that there would be no more.

Great location...Great staff...Clean hotel. I normally stay at Hilton and Marriott. However when I travel to Brooklyn I always stay at the Best Western Hotel Gregory. The GM Richard is always there to greet you asking if your needs have been met. The location of the hotel is situated on 4th ave which provides you with access to many great restaurants.

I stayed in King Suite 325 which is huge with separate living room. Upon arrival I was going to ask if I was invisible as the lobby was empty and there I was standing like a shmuck and being ignored. At last, I ceased to be invisible. In spite of that, I acknowledge that Miss Jennifer was outstanding. Stayed one night during the heat wave New York had. Due to the west sun on Fourth Avenue the air conditioners were not cooling off. Had to draw the curtains, something I never do, to keep the sun out. Around 19:30 hours -- at last the sunset -- the air conditioners started to cool the room. Slept like a dog (all night). Miss Jennifer was very nice and helpful in getting me real milk for my coffee and telling me to wait for the air conditioners to get cool. That is what I did. She was right. King bed very comfortable with the one-half pillows that Best Western provides. I love them. Bathroom very clean, living room very clean as is the bedroom. Hotels do not have bedspreads anymore except for Hampton Inn by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton. That does not bother me as I always thought the bedspreads were not cleaned after the customers leave. (I do not call them "guests" as we pay dearly.) Suite included a refrigerator, television and a carcinogen (microwave oven). Many places to eat. Walk two blocks to 86th Street on Fourth Avenue. The subway (R) is also on 86th Street. The hotel is on Fourth Avenue and 84th Street. Piece of cake. Nice breakfast area with plenty to choose from including those wonderful Brooklyn bagels. There is no air conditioning in the halls. Will go back to this hotel during the winter and pay for a King Studio -15. Beautiful old building from 1926. The inside was messed up ("renovated") in 2015. This beautiful hotel was built in 1926. (Formerly known as Hotel Madrid.) Use the stairs to see the beautiful 1926 stairs and handrails. Gorgeous.

The room had a strong smell of mildew. Also, I was told the valet parking was not available and was told I could park in the municipal garage a few blocks away. When I got over to the lot, I was told by the attendant it was closed for the night.

Stayed for one night. Location was perfect for what I wanted to do and within walking distance of some nice restaurants. The room was very large, clean and well-appointed; bed was huge with a very comfortable mattress (though I would have preferred a firmer pillow); staff at the desk were friendly and helpful.

Location is lovely, close to the sub way station and Brooklyn ridge. We had a good room for three of us with two double beds. The complimentary breakfast was sumptuous and there was hot freshly cooked food included.

The closest hotel to the venue where my daughter's wedding was held was the "Gregory" Best Western Hotel. It was just a few blocks away. Due to the convenience and proximity, my daughter reserved a suite of rooms for us and out of town guests. When we saw it last year it was being "renovated." I use the term loosely because after our stay there I can only imagine what it looked like before remodeling. The pictures online are deceiving. Over the years we have stayed at many different hotels and I have to say this was by far the worst. I would rather pitch a tent on an New York City street than to ever book a room at this hotel (and anyone who knows me knows that I hate camping). Here's the story. When my daughter sent out her "Save the Dates" about four moths ago, I called and booked two rooms immediately for her and for us, making sure they were in close proximity since my two daughters and I needed to have out hair and makeup done first thing in the morning. No problem they said. The week of the wedding I called to reconfirm the rooms and make sure they noted we wanted our rooms together. No problem, it was noted. They told us they had valet parking available for a nominal fee. That was great because it's a very congested area. On July 8th we arrive after 3 PM check in time and our rooms are not ready. They are scrambling around trying to figure out how to get us the two rooms we requested that were next to one another. Already I am pissed off. I need to unload all our clothes for the weekend and organize everything before we went to the "Welcome Dinner" that the parents of the groom graciously hosted for out of town guests. We finally get our rooms, but there is a nice big sign on the front desk saying their parking lot is full, sorry for the inconvenience. Seriously? So my husband brings the car to a municipal lot while we try to figure out what to do. Long story short, he ended up taking it out and finding a spot on the street. We go up to our rooms and I should have taken pictures because I could have spared you 1,000 words. I have never been to a hotel room that does not have bedspreads on the beds. No bedspreads and really no blankets either for that matter. Instead that had two thick "sheets" and a piece of material about 2 feet wide and 6 feet long laying across the bottom of the bed. What the hell that is good for I don't know. One of the beds was about 12 inches away from he closet, blocking me from putting all our garment bags in there. The bathroom had little space to maneuver around or to place your toiletries. The dresser was dusty. There were three lousy pillows on each bed instead of four. The pillows left a lot to be desired, just like everything else. So now we are off to a great start. The next morning we are busy getting ready for the wedding as best we can. We had no choice but to make due. The maid caught us going back and forth out of the room around 10 AM and she wanted to clean the room. I told her it can't be now because the bride is getting ready. By 1 PM we all leave to take the limousine to the photoshoot destination. On our way out my husband spots the maid and tells her the room will be free now if she wants to clean it. I couldn't understand every word she said, but it was clear to all of us that she didn't want to or intend to clean our room. She was very annoyed. (Can you believe it? I still can't, but this blog is going to their corporate headquarters as soon as I post it.) So, I politely tell her it's fine, she doesn't have to clean the room, but would she please leave us three clean towels. She calmed down and agreed to do that. And she did. Sunday morning we prepare to check out and believe me I could not wait to get out of there. My brother in law left the wedding early so we left a couple of favors for him at the desk with his name and room number on them. He was out sight-seeing that morning and told us he was staying an extra night. When my husband hands over the favors the desk person tells him his brother checked out. My husband told them no, he was out this morning but was coming back for another night. Then he called my brother in law to tell him he should call and straighten this out. My brother in law came back to find he had been checked out. You can imagine he was disgusted so he told them he was leaving and made sure they weren't going to charge him for two nights. They said no. Well guess what? They charged him for two nights and, when he called, they told him it would take 24 hours to get the extra charge removed. Nice. I am going to make sure everyone I know hears about my experience. I would never stay at this hotel again or any other Best Western for that matter. I do not have one good thing to say about it except it was close to my daughter's venue. P.S. If the manager addresses everyone's issues by stating they aren't true I can assure you they are. I have read the other reviews here and I believe every word posted.

Rooms were clean and nicely decorated, staff was friendly, breakfast was good and location was good. Close to many restaurants and shops and the subway.Subway was 45 minutes to lower Manhatten. While location of hotel in a more residential area restaurants and shopping was only 2 blocks away.

Staff provided excellent service. Continental breakfast served every morning included genuine Brooklyn bagels, pastries, eggs & bacon, cereal, yogurt, etc. Hotel is just 2 blocks from shopping on 86th Street, making it very convenient.

Upon our late arrival, Jennifer at the desk reception remarked we could maybe use the valet if we hurried otherwise find a place on the street "if there were any". It was 1am and had just driven 12 hours by myself with 2 kids and a service animal. Room had hair in the sink, long and black, we are blondes.There was also hair in the bed. ?? I was immediately disgusted. The refrigerator was hot and therefore our dog's food spoiled and the rest of the room looked as if it really hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in forever. DEFINITELY NOT like the photos and the staff are horribly rude. Even the am check out the guy was looking at my personal info and took 20 minutes to check me out despite being prepaid. I didn't take photos because the place doesn't deserve any. Thumbs down -- especially because they charge "AS IF"

We stayed for three nights in this hotel. It was very clean and quiet. They are several shops and restaurants within walking distance. The subway station is also close by, about one block away. The continental breakfast was also very tasty. I would definitely stay here again. The Bay Ridge area is very nice neighborhood.

The Hotel Gregory was a nice experience for my daughter and I. We fell in love with Bayridge! Three complaints !-Bed was very hard, made it hard to get a restful sleep.2-It did have a stail hotel odor (picked up a can of Lysol) 3- we where placed in a street side room ,so there was a noise factor... we'll consider that if we stay another time...over all it was good not great !

This was in a great location, convenient to the 86 st shops and restaurants, close to Ft Hamilton base. Front desk young lady (latino) always greeted with smile; including friendly help from breakfast young lady.

For family reasons we visit Brooklyn twice a year - spring and fall and always stay here if rooms are available. The rooms have all been updated, are always clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is difficult to work for a chain hotel in NY and maintain as some local flavor, but I think they are doing just that. Price is reasonable for a good location in NY. The staff is small in size, so if you think you are going to get an instantaneous response every time you go to the desk, that can't happen. By the same token, if you are willing to wait your turn in line, they are polite and helpful.

It is an average hotel, the location is conveniently close to subway. The hotel is sitting on the 4th Ave which is a busy street. It is so noisy. Their old style of window does shield away any noise I tried several time to ask for a quiet room. The staff is not helpful, instead they try to up sell me for additional $60 a night to move to none street facing room

The staff was pleasant and accommodating,The new renovation in lobby makes the facility seem quite modern though the building is older, The rooms are a little small (not unexpected in Brooklyn) but they are clean and comfortable. Location is excellent in a safe & relatively quiet neighborhood for a busy city. Valet parking is extremely valuable as street parking is difficult. A good value for NYC.

While looking for a hotel in Brooklyn I found few choices with parking even limited, and some had reviews that left me Leary of staying there. I found the Gregory on 3rd ave. They have parking , limited but parking good reviews witch they lived up to. I can say that I'm happy I chose to stay there. Rooms not large but not small by NYC standards. Walking distance to many places to eat and the morning breakfast was very good. I was happy to find very good and fresh Brooklyn bagels as a bread choice. When I go back to Brooklyn I will stay there and make sure I get there by 4 PM to get one of the parking spots.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and have to give the hotel and the staff kudos for a great place. The lobby and bathrooms have been updated and modernized recently, which was a definite improvement. The reception desk staff on the phone or in person are very helpful and knowledgeable. We had a request to have our cars brought to us very early in the morning and the staff made sure it happened even though it was inconvenient. The rooms are well maintained and the only reason I gave them a four and not five star was because I have no idea what the breakfast is like since we always leave too early.

Service was good, breakfast was delicious, and the accommodations were comfortable and quiet. Location is near shopping on 86th Street. Bagels served at continental breakfast were authentic New York style.

Upon arrival -- (we were a little early) -- there was only one poor man working the desk, answering the phones, dealing with the valet, etc. etc. The wait was quite long. Parking is (good luck) finding your own or their parking/valet for $25. We opted for that as we are not familiar with the City. Room was clean - hot breakfast was good. Of course it is walking distance to a lot in the City. Overall, the stay was pleasant. Staff was very friendly.

I had read some negative reviews about this hotel and wanted to offer my opinion. First of all, this is NYC, there is nothing quiet about NYC. Upon check in the desk clerk advised that he had put me on a quieter floor away from the elevator, which I appreciated. Yes, there is a subway that runs underneath, but it's just a low kind of rumble. It might be more noticeable on a lower floor. The room I had was small but very clean. The hotel has been recently renovated. The staff members were all friendly and helpful. Valet is the best option for parking as it is a residential area, and you pay for 24 hours, so even after I had checked out, I could leave my car and picked it up after my business day ended. Again, the staff were just so lovely. The breakfast buffet was ok in a pinch.

Housed in the former Gregory Hotel, an historic landmark from the 1920's, this hotel is in the ideal location. It is convenient to some amazing restaurants, great shopping, and the Brooklyn-uniqueness that makes Bay Ridge so very special. So take a walking tour of the neighborhood. See amazing views of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and the War Memorial. Street parking worked fine and the hotel amenities as well as the staff were more than adequate. The extensive free continental breakfast is really great to include fresh Brooklyn bagels – the very best! So if you are seeking a fun visit to the hometown of Tony Manero (Saturday Night Fever) the place to stay is the BW Gregory Hotel.

The Hotel was great and the only thing is the parking at the best western in Brooklyn. They really should not charge you a $25.00 plus tax for parking. The hotel is in area that parking is impossible so how it that the you customers fault if they cannot find parking, I would def. think twice before I would stay at the hotel again because of the parking situation.

I travel the NYC area several times a month and have stayed at many hotels. I found the Best Western Gregory Hotel located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn to be the best all around. The Management and staff are excellent! The recent renovation has really put this place above the rest when consider value, service and location. Great job and I always look forward to returning.

The location was very great; near subway , surrounded by many clothe shops. Room was very nice, clean and terrific. Staffs were really friendly and helpful ; i arrived very early in the morning, they hurriedly made the room for me. I appreciated that so much. Would be back again :)

Walking distance to shops, restaurants, church, subway. For the price and it is only 6 miles from Manhatten. The neighborhood was safe at night to walk around, it was nice to be able to walk in all directions and see different shops and restaurants of different cultures.

The staff was friendly,the rooms were very clean, we will definitely stay here again. Convenient to subway, shopping and food.. Located in a nice area, family friendly, We loved they offered valet parking, an amazing breakfast, we stayed 3 nights 2 days to see family.

Been at this hotel, multiple times. Coming in from seattle..staff is very friendly. From management to house cleaning, and car service.. Been staying here. Off and on..for a year and half..and never been disappointed.. Ask a question. They have a honest. Reply back! Awesome hotel. Will always come back! :)

I heard during my visit that the hotel has just had some upgrades. The lobby was neat and clean (except where there was still obvious construction going on). My room as very nice. Loved the decor! The breakfast wasn't great, but in a pinch it will do.I would definitely stayt here again and would recommend to a friend.

The staff are very professional and friendly. The room is warm and inviting. I'll recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stay, that they should consider Best Western Gregory Hotel, Brooklyn, NY for their next hotel stay.

Hotel undergoing renovations. Rooms are decent size bathrooms updated and nice. Offering microwave, coffee machine, fridge, safe, flat screen TV in room. Excellent choices for free breakfast, they even had eggs and sausage patties. Small bar but it's nice for a quick drink. Quick check-in, friendly staff, very clean and safe. Only downside is parking. They offer valet parking ( for a fee) but only 16 available spots they have rented out at nearby garage. If the spots are taken you are on your own and finding parking in bay ridge can be a nightmare. There is a municpal lot three blocks away that is open from 8am to 10 pm. Good tip: Ask for a high floor as subway line runs underneath building.

Visited some friends in Brooklyn and decided to stay overnight. Found this hotel close by and at an okay price so booked it. Looks nice from the outside, fits into the surrounding area nicely. Staff at the counter were very friendly both on checking in and out. They offered assistance with any info I might need getting to the train when I left. The room itself was on the small side. Just enough room for the two double beds and a dresser and small desk. Room appeared clean, beds were okay, I was so tired it didn't really matter. Could hear the folks walking around on the floor above without any problem, if I wasn't as tired as I was, it probably would have driven me crazy. Shower was decent, bathroom was modern and had plenty of room. We checked out about 9:30 AM and the breakfast was all but cleaned up so I can't comment on that. I didn't utilize the WiFi either, but they gave me the password at check-in. If it wasn't for the location, I'm not sure I would use it again. It's also right over the subway so you can hear the rumbling every time a train goes by. Overall, I'd give it a 5 out of 10 rating, I wouldn't recommend staying if the rate is much over $100 per night.

Recently traveled to Brooklyn for a family funeral. I can't say enough about the staff of the Gregory Hotel. They were very friendly and helpful during our stay. One of the guests in our party is physically disabled and they went out of their way to make sure her room was easily accessible. The staff also assisted us with directions and transportation during our brief stay. The Gregory provided first rate accommodations with very clean and comfortable rooms. The newly renovated lobby is beautiful and offers a comfortable seating area and full bar. The morning breakfast included with our stay offered a wide variety of selections, including the delicious New York City bagels. I hope my next trip to Brooklyn is for a happier occasion, but regardless I know I have a great place to stay at the Gregory on 4th avenue!

The room was very clean and comfortable and we had a view of 4th Ave. The Continental breakfast was outstanding-- way more than bagels and yogurt and fruit-- they had eggs and waffles and more....they are going through renovations but it was nothing that affected the guests. The ONE thing we were not happy about at ALL was the parking situation-- they say parking/ valet is 25.00 a day but when we got there they said they only had 16 spots for the entire hotel and they were full.... We had to drive a bout 4 blocks down and park the car in a garage ourselves which was a bit more expensive than having he valet parking..... This hotel does not advertise hat they have LIMITED parking so we were a bit dismayed and inconvenienced.

The Gregory met and exceeded al my expectations. Staff is great and goes way out of their way to be helpful and super polite. Property is well kept and is truly a great place to stay in brooklyn. Convenient to many things and truly a safe and clean place to stay. No problems at all duing my brief stay.

Stood here with my 4 yr old daughter for one night. Booked it couple of hours before check in.The hotel was going thru renovations when we were there. The room itself was nice and looked new. The breakfast was ok, standard as in bagels cereal and some fruits. Only thing i dont like is the price. The hotel to me is expensive .

The desk staff was wonderful. They were able to recommend local places to eat or have food delivered from. We passed housekeeping staff in the elevator or hall; very nice people. Overall, the staff were great. In particular, Richard was very helpful in resolving an issue with our credit card. He spent what was probably an hour working with the credit card company to get things fixed. We have to find a home for two cats and Richard was able to recommend a place to take them. Our reason for being in Brooklyn was to deal with a very unpleasant task. It was wonderful to come back to the hotel, where somebody else parked the car, someone else had made the beds, and the desk staff greeted us pleasantly. We frequently have trouble finding useful electrical outlets in hotel rooms. We usually have to unplug the clock to plug in a heating pad or CPAP. No such problem here. There were two outlets on the lamp on the night stand, two on the desk lamp, two on the microwave, and two on each of two walls. We were able to plug in everything we needed--CPAP, heating pad, both phone chargers, and tablet charger. This was fantastic. The complimentary breakfast was okay, better than some. The important thing, to me, was the presence of coffee. There was some construction going on while we were there, as evidenced by a couple of signs and a couple of corrugated plastic walls obscuring most of the actual work area. We wouldn't have known otherwise, since we weren't disturbed by any noise. We were told that the renovations should be complete by the following week. I'd like to see the results, something I usually don't care about once I've left a hotel. The hotel is within walking distance from a Stewart's restaurant (85th St and 5th Ave), which is a great place to eat. Not, obviously, anything to do with the hotel service, but it is a nice feature. If I have to stay in Brooklyn again for this particular reason, it will be at the Gregory Hotel.

The renovations continue, due to NYC City Codes. Still a nice hotel, as are most Best Westerns. Nothing fancy but livable. Can't beat the neighborhood; in walking distance of shopping, restaurants of all levels, fresh farm markets, the subway.

I travel to NY on a yearly basis and stay at this hotel. This year our stay was wonderful, the hotel staff are very accommodating and friendly. They are in the process of renovating the lobby area, which did not affect our stay. The room we had was great, the bed was comfortable and the room was very clean, and I will be requesting that room again for next year. The only little problem was the elevator, but was not a big issue. The breakfast they offer in the morning is great. The hotel is in an area that is close to shopping and restaurants, the subway is 2 blocks away which gives easy transportation into Manhattan.

My boyfriend and I stayed three nights at the Hotel Gregory because it was very close to the start of a local race we were participating in. It was so easy to get to anywhere using the subway, Uber, or our car. The staff was very helpful in providing accurate directions to the race start and any other questions we had in general. The room was very small, but it was obviously recently updated and was fine for such a short stay. The hotel is located in a very vibrant neighborhood that is very walkable and has many restaurants to choose from. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room was large, comfortable and we both had a great nights rest on the amazingly comfortable bed. Free WI Fi was a plus, also. The staff was very helpful and a tasty breakfast was complimentary in the morning.

Hotel under renovation, so inside wasn 't the best to look at. The front desk agent looked like she hadn't slept in days. The rooms were small but clean. Beds weren't that comfortable. The area wasn't bad. Department stores and lots of restaurants within a 1/2 mile to 3 miles. So if you like to walk everything was within walking distance.

We stayed at the Gregory during a recent trip to visit our son. We chose this hotel as the closest to his flat and were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and clean. All in all - a quiet restful night at reasonable value. The hotel is currently remodeling so there were some issues with amenities ... Cable service was intermittent, the entry is cramped and valet parking service was slow.

Not a bad night's stay. Decent location. Renovated room was nice, although a newer heating system would have made sense. Construction in the lobby was still ongoing, but it looks like it will be nice when completed. Overall, I'd rate this an average hotel. Nothing tremendously bad, nothing outstanding.

Prior to our arrival the hotel had charged the whole stay to our card, the general manager told us it was because "they over booked and were trying to cancel reservations that didn't go through". He did call our bank and reverse the charges, but offered no other options to fix the problem. Upon check out the staff again charged our wrong credit card, but fixed it with a phone call. The hotel itself was nice, and they are renovating.

I was very happy to have the Best Western take over the Hotel Gregory! I have moved to Florida recently and given my recent experience I now have a place to return to when I visit my family that is right in the neighborhood. The room was beautiful and the morning breakfast just right. My only disappointment was the construction going on in the lobby. I am hopping that the lobby is beautifully designed and completed when my husband returned to your hotel during the holidays.

The renovations are not in the way as much but the continuing work makes it really hard to clean. Like the new furniture and the beds. The linens could be upgraded but there is a feeling of family when I am here.

I would stay here again. Liked the fact that the R train took me straight to where I needed to go, however ride to Times Square was little long. Staff was nice. Had problem with circuit blowing but maintenance fixed within 2 minutes from calling. Room was nice but mattresses were not the most comfortable. Stayed on first floor which was super quiet, but could hear train running every 6-8 minutes. However, did not interfere with sleep. Liked the location. Lots and lots of great shopping within walking distance and places to eat. Felt safe in this area!! Would definitely stay here again!!

Definitely the place to be if you are looking for value for money stay in New York. Conveniently located in Bay Ridge, this Hotel is surrounded by public transportation. MTA ride to China Town / Manhattan / Time Square is only $3:00 ($2.75 with Metrocard) and would take less than an hour. For the information of our Catholic brothers and sisters, St Anselm Catholic Church is just one block up right across the street.

this location was picked because of proximity to a meeting we had to attend. i was impressed with the rooms as they were recently re-done, the place was clean, easy walking distance to many restaurants and a nice breakfast. we partially picked this place though because it had a restaurant and bar on the premises, something i badly needed one of the days due to really bad weather outside. but the lobby, along with the restaurant/bar were under construction. it would have been nice if the hotel had given us that information up front, before we arrived.

We had a family wedding and stayed here for the weekend. It was under construction so there was dust and didn't seem very clean in the hallways. They offered no discount due to the mess. Our room was fine but the a/c was so loud it was unbearable. They put us in another room and the a/c was almost as bad and the room was smaller for the same price. I get it.. Anywhere you go in NY is expensive. This hotel is in a convenient location to the subway,shops & resturants that was very nice. They served a continental breakfast every morning.

Stayed here two weeks ago for three nights. The hotel and staff were pleasant. The food was adequate. Our son recently moved into the area and the hotel was extremely well located for our three or four visits each year. The hotel was under renovation so we weren't surprised to see a hole in a wall. Never thought to tell the desk or ask for a different room. When we requested a final statement upon departing, we were told they couldn't provide one since we booked through Expedia. We didn't have time to argue so we left. A week later my husband called again for a final statement and it was sent immediately, with a $50 charge for damage to the wall. They refuse to believe us, taking the word of the housekeeper that we caused the damage. We have disputed the charge. So sad that a hotel would not believe a customer. We had intended to return there in January but will now stay somewhere else. My son said crooked hotels are not uncommon in the area.

This was a great find in a location where we wanted to be in Brooklyn, NY. It was clean and the staff was friendly. The room was cozy, but adequate FOR THE TWO NIGHT STAY. Only suggestion would be more fruit and perhaps yogurt at breakfast. The coffee was better tyhan some hotels!
