« The Staff was amazing! »

We stayed there over the past weekend. We were a it nervous because we were a large group of people but the lady at the front desk was amazing! She mad the transaction easy and was so helpful! I wish i could remember her name to thank her personally but I did tell her I would write a review. The Best Western was quiet comfortable and cozy! Perfect for the area. There were cheese crackers and wine waiting for us as we arrived. Breakfast was pretty good. The pool is not included with your stay but its worth paying extra as the complex has two Jacuzzi, a huge pool and much more. I cannot stress how great the person at the front desk was and how helpful. Thank you! We were there on Saturday October 22 after 4pm. Will definitely be back!

    « Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! »

This is our 5th year staying at the Silver Fox Inn. We can't get enough of it. Looking forward to April 2017. They make you feel like family when you get there. The front lobby is so cozy that you could just sit by the fire and enjoy the warmth and chat with your family and friends.

    « Wonderful »

I don't know why you would pay extra money and stay at a resort around this area! This best western hotel was fantastic! Great service, clean rooms! And what a tasty breakfast! It's also walking distance from a bar and restaurant! We spend 2 nights here and were very pleased!!! If we go back to white mountain area again, we will definitely go back here! The price was reasonable for what we got!

    « Quaint »

This was a great place to stay for a weekend getaway to the White Mountains. The area is lovely and isn't crowded this time of year. It is only a 1/2 hour to Franconia Notch and maybe 15-20 min to Lincoln. The owners were a delight and the breakfast was awesome as expected from reading all of the other reviews. They had bicycles to use and it was nice biking to the town square. My only complaint was the bed. It was too firm for me and wasn't able to get a good night sleep as a result. Otherwise my experience was very good and met my expectations.

    3
    « A Winter Hotel? »

This is a slightly tired hotel, lacking in facilities and staff going through the motions. Didn't feel particularly welcome. The area is a winter resort and perhaps summer visitors are less frequent and the service reflects this

    « Cozy retreat »

Stayed here for three days and nights. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable and the views were pretty. Nice deck off of lobby and dining area. Easy walk to the Town Square. Ate breakfast there every morning - great selection but not always hot. Only warning - if you are allergic to cats beware. There are three that roam freely over the property ( one is famous and weighs 31 pounds) I did not have a problem with them, but you might if you have allergies.

    « Nice »

I was pleased, but I think it's in the skiing type of area and so I felt that the price was high for October. We were in the bottom level (basement) with a view of the trunk of the tree. I don't really like being on the level so I have to keep the curtains closed or wave to them as they walk by.

« I'd stay here again if just for the breakfast! »

As far as hotels go, it was lovely - beautiful main sitting area w/ fireplaces; scenic balconies with lovely views. The rooms were fine...most hotel rooms are adequate and rarely impress me unless you're taking an expensive suite. No fridge/microwave but the kitchen is open and you can use the ones there. But the chef/owner outdoes herself with her all inclusive breakfast. Our breakfast was egg/broccoli/potato casserole; apple/cranberry/nut bread pudding just to name a few. Beautiful pies and baked goods. Of course there were sausages and waffles and French toast and the basics but the specialty items were the best. Homemade oatmeal also. And my guess is that it is constantly changing. This is a ski area and we were there in mid-Sept. Too early for leaves but still lovely views.

« Price and Value for immidiate area »

I attended a wedding in the area which is why I stayed at the BW. I did not need all of the room to stay in one of the condos in the area so the BW was a right fit for me. The room was clean and in a quiet area of the resort. Also to my delight it was right next door to the conference center where the wedding reception was that was a great perk. So if you are in the area and do not need a lot of room the BW would be a great place to stay.

    « Waterville Valley »

Wonderful stay, brought a friend from Florida to show off our beautiful mountains. Wine time at this hotel was great along with the room and what a wonderful breakfast. I thought we were staying at a Bed and Breadfast!

    « Weekend Away »

Great little hotel in Waterville Valley. Rooms are basic and clean with comfortable beds. Bathroom was clean and stocked with plenty of towels. We had a heating/AC unit in room which was great. Flat screen TV in room. Free wifi was great as we had no cell service in the area. Wonderful homemade breakfast every morning included! (only drawback it's only from 7-9am). Overall great stay and would stay again if in the area!

« Hospitality at its best »

Spent last weekend at the Silver Fox Inn with 3 other couples while on a motorcycle trip. I usually do not post reviews but I am making an exception in light of the experience. Owner and staff are delightful and very accommodating to their guests. Rooms are clean, so is the site itself. One thing to keep in mind, no refrigerator in the rooms so be prepared. Lovely terrace outside, cheese and wine served late afternoon, very relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast (buffet style) is excellent. Will definitely go back.

    5
    « Wonderful! »

This place was amazing. The owner could not have been more accomodating. The view and outdoor seating are fantastic. They have a great buffet. If you want a place where the owners care if you enjoy your stay this is it!!!!!

    « great hospitality »

The only "Chain" hotel in Waterville valley. We booked here for an evening on our trip through New Hampshire, not really knowing it was a ski resort village and that most people are weekly or monthly rentals. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and there is lots to do in the resort. The Silver Fox Inn has bicycles for your use too for getting around the town. After the sun sets the town is extremely dark, so be sure to have a flashlight for walking to/from town square for any food The building is very much like a ski lodge. With a large common area with big screen tvs and library to borrow books on your stay. The room was sufficient, the only drawback was no fridge in the room, as this is something that I always look for, and especially if staying for more then one night would want to have. The breakfast in the morning is great, as they have the standard hotel menu but also have home cooked eggs, as well as some delicious scones and muffins (which we may have grabbed a few for our drive to mt washington)

    « EXCELLENT INN »

Have been staying at this inn for almost ten years. The staff always go out of their way to make our stay pleasant and we always feel at home. The rooms are clean & comfortable. Would not consider staying at another inn or hotel. Look forward to returning next year.

« Very nice, comfortable and cozy hotel! »

The stay at the Silver Fox Inn started at the later evening, although it was late we were greeted very nicely and instantly felt more welcome than in "normal" hotels. The room was quiet and clean and even though there was a wedding going on next to the hotel. Some things weren't the newest and the shower was leaking a bit even when turned off, but that didn't bother somehow. Me and my family just liked to mood so much and were very comfortable all the time. We guess that the hotel, even when it's a "Best Western" is led passionately by an older couple. The breakfast is only served for two hours, which might be a little short for some people but it was okay for us. You could get full from what was offered, special is the variety of cakes offered (at least five I guess). You can like it or not... One little downside was that you don't have a fridge, so it's hard to keep your drinks cold on a hot day. But that's the only small thing bothering us! All in all a great stay. We would have loved to stay longer!

« Good value and great common areas »

I researched so many other hotels in the region and they were all more expensive. This place was less and yet got great reviews so I gave it another look, and am glad I did. The common areas are really nice. At any time of day/night you can go and make yourself a hot cup of tea or grab an apple. There's a full bookcase that you can browse through, then choose a book to curl up with on one of their comfortable armchairs. Makes me feel like I'd want to stay here just to stay here, not necessarily because I have some event in the area to go to. In other words, I could easily just come here for a relaxing do-nothing weekend. The included breakfast from 7-9am was quite abundant. Waffle iron, scrambled eggs, sausage, french toast, and a variety of muffins and pastries. There were also other breads (bagels, english muffins, etc.) that you could toast yourself. A hot chocolate dispenser!! And oatmeal, cereal, etc... the works. One of the better "breakfast included" spreads I've seen. Rooms were clean and even the bathroom received my stamp of approval. The ONLY gripe was that there was one towel that I opened up to find a small stain on. As the hotel provided us with quite a generous supply of towels for 2 people though, it was no problem to just find another towel to use. My biggest pet peeve at hotels is finding hair on the towels. These towels were all HAIR-FREE. So yes, I would love to stay here again when we're in the area. (And to counter what another reviewer said about it not being pet-friendly... I sympathize, but I just wanted to mention that I specifically look for places that are NOT pet-friendly because I find that it's very difficult for hotels to completely remove all traces of pets after their stay. For allergy-sufferers, being able to find a NOT pet-friendly place is a huge relief.)

    « So relaxing & comfortable »

We had 2 nights here & wished it was more! What a lovely, relaxing hotel in a beautiful location surrounded by mountains. The owners Susan & Tor were welcoming & friendly had time for all of their guests. Good value for money considering the spacious room, excellent breakfast & use of the bikes. The large lounge area was good for us to sit, chill & play some board games. We had a great time & would go back, and recommend to others.

    5
    « Best Breakfast »

Wine reception. Many homemade breakfast items. Free bikes to ride. The owners do all of the cooking and serving for the meals. We were also offered free deserts from a private party in the evening. This is probably not offered on a regular basis, but was greatly appreciated.

« Good value, clean updated rooms and a very good breakfast offering »

Compared to other inns around the valley, this one is a great value and rooms are updated and fresh (nice bedding, new carpet, etc). They offer a breakfast with tons of choices (waffles, cereal, muffins) as well as choices of juice and coffee. We come up a lot for the ski training in summer and fall and would stay here again. I just wish it was a pet friendly hotel -- then we would stay more often.

    4
« Good value, beautiful locale »

On the interwebs, the Silver Fox looked to be right in the middle in terms of value -- no great bargain, but not too pricey either. But the included amenities pushed this inn way, way into the outstanding value category. First, the lobby is large, homey, and inviting -- particularly with the complimentary wine and cheese offered each afternoon. The full breakfast buffet was exceptional, including delicious baked eggs with cheese and spinach, citrus scones, nutella croissants, oatmeal, fresh fruit salad, french toast, and a full range of juices, fresh fruit, and beverages. Finally, the inn has a fleet of high-quality mountain bikes in all sizes parked out front for guests to use on the many beautiful, well-groomed woodland and riverside trails in the area. We chose Waterville Valley because it was a convenient mid-point to spend the night between our destinations, but we had so much fun -- I haven't even mentioned the swimming/fishing hole and live music at the bandstand in the "Town Square" (10-minute walk from the inn) -- that we're planning a return trip.

« Nicely done and High quality »

This is the second summer that our family (4 couples) has enjoyed the town and its 4th of July festivities. The hotel is a lovely place and very accommadating. The included breakfast was personally cooked and presented by a courteous couple who assisted us in minor details in a very professional and caring. A wonderful stay and getaway!

    4
« Silver Fox clean, quiet, great value »

I was afraid on the 4th July Weekend it would be noisy and crowded. We had a great time, either the insulation between rooms and floors is good or we had a good group but it was quiet. Breakfast is included and awesome. Old flat screen TV no channel guide, small corner unit with a few draws, minor issue. Grounds are beautiful and around the corner from the town square. Fireworks were awesome.

    5
    « EXCELLENT INN »

Have stayed at this inn for around 10 years. Staff and owners Susan & Tor are always exceptionally courteous, friendly, helpful & professional. The free breakfast is above & beyond what anyone would expect. Rooms are always neat & clean. Can't ask for any more from an inn! Highly recommend this inn to anyone. Also a great value.

    3
    « BELOW AVERAGE »

I like that it was a small operation and the owners / managers were friendly and helpful. The lobby is beautiful. However, the rooms are old, outdated, showing significant wear, and not that clean. I'm not sure why it was well-liked on TripAdvisor. I seldom say this because I put a lot of time and effort into selecting hotels for our frequent family travels. However, I would not stay here again and I would not recommend this location to a friend.

    « Loved the kitties! »

Sue was absolutely a perfect host. Kind, informative, always available. She bakes the most delicious lemon scones, ever. Breakfast is outstanding. Truly, a home-away from home atmosphere. Beautiful, breath taking views of the mountain. Fresh air was wonderful.

    5
« Great retreat from the norm »

Breakfast was amazing and grounds and comfortableness of the place was a true delight. Owner is an amazing woman! Great location if you are interested in hiking or outdoor adventures. Most likely an awesome place for skiing (we went in early summer). The recommendations from the owner led us to the most wonderful hike and views. Truly want to visit here again.

    5
« Wonderful breakfast and excellent service! »

Homemade breakfast was excellent! I really enjoyed the fresh rhubarb from the owner's garden. We also received advice on some local waterfalls to hike to with the owner showing them on her personal map collection. Beautiful location! My son and I enjoyed a bike ride on complimentary mountain bikes as well.

« Best hotel in Best Western »

owner great ,never stopped working. It was the best breakfast of any Best Western that we have ever stayed at. The food was great and ever could not have been better in taste or service. It was so good that we will be back in the fall along with friends.

  • 4
    « Good for 2-3 days »

Although the rooms were tad small for 4 member family, the breakfast was great with continental options and the Inn itself is a cozy rustic place with biking and walking distance to every facility in this small quaint town. We enjoyed out stay. The owners and front desk staff are very friendly.

« Eighth year attending a three day conference at Silver Fox, wonderful everytime! »

I have attended a three day retreat sponsored by my parish group for eight years now. Some years as a guest and some on the team sponsoring the retreat. Silver Fox Inn has been a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are spacious and clean. The meeting room is a large, well lit, with three walls of windows, and with a lovely view. The staff was accommodating to all our various requests for extra furniture and rearranging. The owner and chef, Susan serves extraordinary meals. Multiple entrees, sides, soups, and fantastic desserts in a buffet style set-up. Everyone goes back for seconds and thirds! Our team is never quite sure whether those attending the retreat come for the retreat or the delicious meals and comfortable beds. Silver Fox is a treasure!

    « Sewing Get-A-Way »

It is so peaceful and relaxing to sit in the lobby and look at the Mountains . A wonderful place to visit and sew with all your friends. The Inn is so inviting when it is time to leave, you just don't want to go. The service and food is excellent. Thank you, Sue.

    3
« no refrigerators in room »

The staff was superb!!! They were extremely accommodating. They recommended a nearby restaurant that was wonderful. We could have walked to the restaurant, but it was too cold. We only give the room a "poor" rating because they do not have refrigerators in them. We were told it is due to electrical strains they would cause.

    4
« Nicer than any Best Western I've ever visited before »

Large well appointed, clean rooms. Nice towels and bedding. The absolute best breakfast ever. Freshly made, tons of variety and lots of it. An older hotel so television noise from adjoining room was a bit of an annoyance. Luckily tires skiers generally don't stay up too late.

    3
« Ok Hotel, but certainly nothing special »

The location is ok, the hotel as well (however truly nothing special, yet enough for one or two nights). Prices are far too high for the quality, however, the hotel is in a ski-resort, which by the way is more than ridiculus for someone who is coming from the Alps.

    4
    « Pleasant Overnight Stay »

Clean simple rooms, well kept. Perfect for one overnight stay. Breakfast was the best free/included breakfast I've ever had at a hotel! Homemade and delicious... best way to start a long day of skiing.

    3
« Good value for dollar »

We visited the Silverfox best western inn at what I have should have been the height of the skiing season. Unfortunately snow was a scarce. So the cost was not an issue. The staff was amazing. Very very helpful and accommodating on any requests. The lobby is very pleasant as you walk in very homelike makes you feel you're in a deep winter lodge in the mountains. The complimentary buffet breakfast was excellent. Lots of homemade items and plenty of cereals baked goods and beverages to choose from. The room was fine. Very basic on its amenities however. There were no extra blankets or pillows in the room to use. Normally you at least get conditioner in the bathroom as far as a toiletry. But all that was available was soap and shampoo and lotion. I was glad I had my own toiletries with me which I do just in case something like this happens. The beds were not very comfortable. Very hard and springlike. But everything was clean no complaints on that end.

    5
« Charming Hotel in Waterville Valley »

A very nice hotel in Water Valley, clean, comfortable rooms, great breakfast and friendly staff. The hotel is very close to the ski resort and very easy to get to. I wish we could have stayed longer. I look forward to visiting again and recommending it to family and friends.

    5
« Ski Race over night »

Fabulous place to stay for ski race and training. Small intimate Best Western with nice library and conference rooms. Would love to come back for a training camp or for a conference. Super place for fun, business and fitness. Great local mountain scenery.

« Excellent value and not your typical Best Western »

We stayed two nights for a ski trip in Waterville Valley. The location was perfect, right within the ski hamlet, with the bus shuttle stopping across the street for transportation to/from the slopes. Although it has the Best Western name and low room prices, this is run more like a family owned hotel. All the staff is friendly, from the check in/out to the breakfast cook. I really liked that there were house cats around to pet, much more like a B&B than a sterile hotel chain. The wine and cheese in the lobby each evening was a classy touch, the breakfast spread was more like homemade than the usual scrambled powdered eggs I'm used to at places like this. My ONLY complaint - the bed was rock hard. Maybe we got a bad mattress, since other reviewers didn't have the same problem. But I was never so happy as to sleep on my own pillow top mattress when I got home. This is a great place at a great price in a perfect location, I would return again just on the chance our mattress was a fluke. But if it wasn't... that would be my last stay!

    5
    « with a personal touch »

This was a very nice Best Western with a personal touch of some homemade breakfast items, hot cider, & reception party. It also had a ski lodge feeling with a fire place, common room with a big tv and couch.

    5
    « Great value »

Staff were exceptional - very friendly and kind. The rooms were of average size and everything was very clean and well kept. The bed was comfortable and I loved the huge pillows. I was expecting a typical ho-hum continental breakfast and to my surprise there was an array of delicious hot foods and yummy homemade baked goods. Now that I have found this place, I will come here again for my next trip to the White Mountains.

    5
    « .............a gem............. »

......Clean, organized, quaint, New England Inn, with an unbelievably delicious home-made breakfast......... One night stay for snowsports instructor examination - very reasonably priced, clean, comfortable room - efficient bathroom - Internet connection without difficulty. Hot egg dish (some sort of baked scrambled egg dish - wonderful); fresh, warm sausage links, deliciously chilled fresh fruit...... plus a whole lot more options - hot and cold.......and there was a coffee variety - that was also delicious..... Will certainly return whenever I am in the area again - thank you very much - was wonderful!

    « Friendly Stay »

Went to Waterville Valley for a quick getaway with the family. The hotel was cozy with different areas to sit and relax if you want to do so outside of your room. All of the staff are super friendly and helpful. Great place for families.

    « well done »

Went on a family ski vacation weekend. Having never been to waterville valley, I was basically solely relying on online reviews so had some baseline nervousness. This was immediately quelled when we got to the hotel. Called ahead to give advanced notice we would be arriving very late, around midnight. Was given instructions over the phone on late arrival protocol since the desk would not be manned. Worked like a charm. (have been to hotels where this type of late arrival scheme has NOT worked smoothly. have to call and wake up the night manager, apologies of "the early person never told me, etc etc. takes forever to figure out, etc etc.). Nice clean budget hotel. No frills ( a little mildewy near radiator) but has everything one needs. Family friendly. quiet common area on first floor. Second floor has a common area with TV that a group of guests clearly planned ahead to order food and watch playoff football. Was Quiet at night. Everyone very friendly. Earlier reviews are correct : great breakfast. What I loved was that it opened on time. Stated that breakfast started at 7 and it was ready to go by 6:45. Love that type of professionalism. Owners have been running hotels for decades and you can tell. Old school professionals. Would definitely come back. 5 minute drive to the ski slopes

    « A Special Place to Stay »

The Silver Fox is a locally owned and managed venue that offers friendly, personal service, a cordial attitude, a wonderful breakfast and a clean and comfortable room. I always stay here when coming to Waterville Valley and am never disappointed. I look forward to the stay.

    « great stay! »

We had a 2 night stay. The room was immaculate and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding, many choices and home cooked options that were delicious. The staff were helpful and took pride in their place. Would definitely stay here again...great location, too. A great find.

    « quaint hotel »

It was a short, one night visit (we were in Waterville Valley for a ski race) but the hotel was perfect for our needs. Entire hotel was very clean and staff very friendly. Nothing spectacular about the rooms but the beds were comfortable and bathrooms very clean. Breakfast in the morning was perfect and great selection for a smaller hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

« Felt like in grandparents house »

We felt at home..Well not exactly, we felt at grand parents home... They spoiled us with overnight wine and cracker and dinner...and hang out around the fire place.... They way they have treat us made us to do what we do at home... turn the lights off when we where not at room and turn down the heat .... It was an amazing vacation

    « Homey little lodge »

The Silver Fox is my favorite place to stay in Waterville Valley. Comfortable, cozy living room with fireplace where I can do projects and read while my daughter skiis. Family room with tv and dvd player upstairs. Nice breakfast augmented with many home-cooked items. About 30-35 rooms. Feels very family-run and personable. Reasonable price, friendly staff, right around corner from "town center" in one directions and athletic club in other. 5 minute drive to base of ski slopes.

« Silver Fox Best Western at Waterville Valley »

If you need it for just a place to sleep... its alright. Comfy beds. Crappy breakfast. Ugly rooms... need larger TV and bathrooms. Don't book a stay here for a long time. People there are nice though.

« Nice Place, Good Breakfast »

Visited very much in the off season, between leaf glory and snow, and the place was mostly empty except for a group of quilters who meet up here on a regular basis. Decent room, bed, shower, etc., good wifi, comprehensive breakfast for free, which makes it quite a good value. Would like to see what it's like to be here when the place is hopping sometime, wouldn't seem quite as desolate. Did enjoy sitting by the fire to dry out after a long, damp hike...

    « Quirky but Cool »

Very nice and attentive staff. The breakfast is the best ever! The kindly Innkeeper's wife is a master baker and the huge spread was truly above and beyond any fancy B&B I've ever stayed at. You are in the mountains so it has that nice campy feel. No frills but cozy. Beds quite hard. Only major complaint is that the shower was very funky and hard to manage. Also the walls are very thin and it was very loud but they moved me to a quieter room so I would advise avoiding rooms near the elevator and stay on top floor if able. They have free bikes which is beyond cool. For a pool or workout, you have to go off site but the walking there is lovely so you can get your exercise to work off that phenomenal breakfast! I would certainly stay here again.

For almost 10 years, our small quilting group "Chicks in the Sticks" has been visiting the Silver Fox Inn for quilting retreats. We are welcomed twice a year, Spring & Fall for 3 days of quilting in a dedicated room with excellent lighting, tables, irons and ironing boards, an endless supply of coffee, tea and snacks.........AND, the best part, gourmet meals prepared by the nicest, most inventive chef ever, Susan! The sleeping rooms are pleasant, clean and comfortable and the welcoming staff, Tor (owner) Sarah (greeter) and the other staff are all competent and happy! You won't be disappointed!

« Wonderful Place to Stay »

Have worked with the Silver Fox Inn for over 6 years for our event planning. Sarah, Thor and the staff are extremely customer service oriented and help make our event a great success. Susan and her staff provide the best food in the area. It is always a pleasure to stay at the Silver Fox Inn.

The Inn was a wonderful experience. My first trip to NH and I was thrilled with the surroundings, food, cleanliness and gracious service. I would highly recommend it to everyone and I hope to go again.

    « AWESOME!!!!!!!! »

A group of quilting friends have come to Silver Fox twice a year for the past 5+ years. The owners and staff are so wonderful and the food is outstanding. Can't wait to come back in April. The new kitchen area on the 4th floor where we sew is great and helpful to get water, coffee and to keep our goodies. What more could you ask for!!!!!! SILVER FOX INN is just plain AWESOME!!!!

    « Great Atmosphere »

This is an older property which reminded me of the ski lodges that you see in movies. The views were wonderful filled with fall leaves. The lobby had a fireplace and comfortable, cushy furniture. Wine and cheese was available in the lobby in the late afternoon. The rooms were spacious, and had all the amenities. Though not new, they were very clean and the beds were comfortable. A "skier's hearty breakfast" was included that had baked egg casserole, sausage, oatmeal, assorted homemade pastries among other things. It's a really nice place to stay.

    « OUTSTANDING »

Innkeepers Susan & Tor, along with staff members, are always extremely courteous & helpful during our visits to the Silver Fox Inn. They always take the time out of their busy schedules to speak with us & make sure we have everything we need. Susan puts out a fantastic breakfast spread, including her home-made items. Can't get this at any other inn. Always a pleasure staying here. This is like a "home away from home". Would highly recommend this inn to anyone.

The rooms were clean, the atmosphere was inviting. The breakfast buffet offered something for everyone. The cookies and snacks, along with the wine and cheese added to the relaxing atmosphere of the lobby and was a great addition while we played games in the lobby

« Great place to stay if you are willing to travel »

We came to this hotel to go on a fall foliage ride. This hotel is very nice, great housekeeping, fast check in, and a great free breakfast. The only problem is that this hotel is about a 20 minute drive to I-93. Also, it is about 35 min from Lincoln. Overall, I would stay here again!

    « excellent hot breakfast »

This hotel has excellent hot breakfast with a lot of varieties- eggs, sausage, waffles, apples, fruits, hot and cold beverages, oatmeal, toasts, muffins, etc. Also has a great view of Mt. Tecomseh in their breakfast room. Great location in the heart of Waterville Valley. Highly recommended!

« Lovely hotel and delightful hosts »

We spent two nights at the Silver Fox Inn during our touring holiday of New England. The hotel is a ski lodge in the picturesque setting of the White Mountains. The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our hosts, Tor and Susan, were most hospitable and weloming. Tor gave us some great advice on the best sights to see in the local area. Susan is a great cook and her breakfast was a real treat. We really liked the fact that it was served with proper (not disposable) crockery and cutlery, something other Best Western hotels would do well to copy. The complimentary afternoon wine and cheese board was a nice touch. Overall, a very nice hotel made extra special by its charming and hospitable hosts.

    « Sweet property, a few issues. »

This cute hotel is in a nice location for exploring the White Mountains. But we did have an issue or two (or three): 1. Front desk gave us a key to an occupied room. When we reported someone was in it, he didn't seem all that concerned but did give us a room that wasn't occupied. 2. Cats. My husband is extremely allergic. There were no warnings prior to booking that he would encounter cats inside the building. I find this unacceptable. 3. Unwelcoming. At breakfast, the gentleman working in the room asked where we were from. When we answered California, he thought a minute then launched into a "I hate your governor" speech. I found this to be very unwelcoming behavior. .

    « Perfect Weekend @ Perfect Hotel »

It was like visiting your grandparents - Warm, Welcoming, and Inviting! Awesome free Bikes to use, 4-5:30pm wine / cheese & crackers. Plenty of board game on hand, Huge hot breakfast with attentive staff. Relax outside on the sunny deck. Great value in the 'freedom pass' to use all local activities [9 holes golf!, huge fitness center, ski lift, etc...] for just 10$. The lift alone was $10. I now know why I scored the last room. My new NH hotel is Sliver Fox!

    « A nice Relaxing Stay »

The Silver Fox and a lovely small hotel in Waterville Valley. It is very cozy. Our room was bright and clean and the bathroom was huge. There are nice decks with a view of the mountains. Breakfast is excellent!! Homemade pastries are wonderful but there were lots of choices. Wine, cider and cheese in the afternoon is a nice touch. If you can take a ride around on the free bikes out front. Be sure to met Logan the lovebug hotel cat and his feline friends We would definitely stay here again!

« Best part of New England trip. »

Service was excellent as well as the food. The room was bright and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The shower head could be changed, it was a little weird, But overall, a good experience. The breakfast choices were scrumptious!
