« You'll Never Believe Where the Wifi Worked! »

Positives: Booked the room through, great deal! The room was clean, and the beds/pillows very comfortable. Nice front-desk personnel, and though we didn't patronize the lounge, we've had decent food and service in previous stays. Wish-list: In-room refrigerator and microwave (did have a coffee maker) and no complimentary coffee was available to guests. Yes, there is a restaurant, but why pay at least an additional $20 plus tip; a majority of the competing 2.5 and 3.0 star hotels in Watertown offer breakfast for the same price we paid for a room at Ramkota. Negative: Just one really, the wifi accessibility. We followed the instructions as written, had the passcode on the room key envelope and even used some trouble-shooting tips from an iPhone online site. I finally got the wifi working on my husband's phone; it stayed connected for less than 5 minutes. I walked out of our room to see if my phone would connect (stronger signal?) but ended up back in the room to try again. Getting silly, rather than irritated, I decided to take the phone in the small room containing the "porcelain God." Yes, it worked. My husband's iPhone also connected, and stayed connected, until I brought it out to him. I couldn't make this up if I tried. So if you're not getting a strong or consistent wifi signal, try relocating to a different area in your hotel room?

    « Great Stay! »

Had an excellent stay at the Watertown, SD Ramkota Inn. The Ramkota is clean and comfortable and the service is excellent. I really like that there is an excellent bar and restaurant on the property. Check in and check out were quick and easy. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly.

    « Great stay »

Staff is always friendly and helpful. I enjoy the ability to park for the night, eat and sleep under one roof. The meals are always excellent at the attached Minerva Bar & Restaurant. . Rooms are dated but clean.

    « Fair »

I think the cost of the room was waaaay too expensive considering we really stayed here for the swimming pool and it was not in working condition. I also feel the rooms need updating seem very outdated.

    « Great Stop »

I stayed at the Hampton Inn here in Watertown which was an absolute nightmare. This place is a breath of fresh air. Older but very clean, great parking, nice restaurant and good customer service. I prefer this place over the Hampton Inn and I usually love the Hampton Inn but the Best Western is much nicer. Thank you!

    « Great Stay »

The king room we stayed in was very clean and comfortable. The bed was cozy and the room was quiet. The room was 5 stars but we were disappointed (like most people who stay here) that there was no continental breakfast. The pool was very clean and had the perfect water temperature. Some people might find the decor in the hallway/indoor courtyard outdated but my husband and I loved it! It was very '90's retro to us.

    « Pet Friendly »

We needed a quick room after our other hotel fell threw. I called the Ramkota and they said come on over. We were traveling with our dog and they were very welcoming. They gave a room on the back of the hotel with a green lawn for the dog just outside the door. Perfect. Breakfast is not included, but there's a nice restaurant attached with a $5 breakfast which was great. We'll stay here next time we come to SD.

    « Family reunion »

The King room was very nice and clean. Free internet worked great. The beds were very comfortable. We didn't have any problems with the room but were very disappointed that this location didn't have the nice free breakfast as all the other Best Westerns do!!

    « Nice time »

This was a nice location. Was upgraded to a King Room and the front desk had complimentary bags of ice for coolers. Was a little disappointed that breakfast was not included as it usually is at Best Western properties, but there is a restaurant attached with good tasting food. Indoor pool with a slide for smaller swimmers.

    « Very Basic Stay »

This hotel is very basic. The rooms are adequate, but need updating badly. There is no complimentary breakfast items, but they do have a basic but pricy restaurant on site (Minerva's). There are other nicer hotels in town. We stayed here because the rest of our family stayed here for a wedding reception.

« Disappointing, but matched other poor reviews »

We stayed here because all the better hotels were full. It is at least 4 miles from the interstate, so not convenient. The atrium area was crazy hot, and the room was damp feeling. The decor is in serious need of an update, particularly the bathroom. No breakfast is included. The price was on a par with a decent hotel, which this hotel is not, so very overpriced!

    « happy to return »

Best Western Ramkota has the friendliest staff I have ever met while travelling. We have stayed here 3 times for Softball tournaments and they are always happy to have our rambunctious group. They make staying here so easy.

    « Ok Stay »

My key card didn't work when I went to enter my room so I needed to walk all the way back down and get a card re-keyed. Not very many outlets and extensions cords were used to plug in lamps. I had to unplug the lamp just to plug in my phone for the evening. The room was very small, maybe there are bigger rooms but I am glad I was only an overnight stay it would have never been big enough. Don't think I would stay again though.

    « Great Stay »

Had a great stay. Handy that the Restaurant/bar was one of the best places to eat in town. Easy to get to and nice and quiet. Was able to get to where I needed to go quickly from the location and close to many of Watertowns big attractions.

« A great place to stay in Watertown »

This was a three-night stay to meet up with family. The lounge (Bar) was large enough for the many family members to come and go. The lounge staff was very good at keep the tabs separate. The room, a suite, was very nice, clean, and quite. The hotel is designed with all doors located into an inside area, providing a nice barrier from the busy highway noise. This was exactly what we needed for this trip. I would recommend this hotel for your next trip to Watertown.

« An acceptable place to stay »

This is a large hotel and conference center with pool, Minerva's restaurant and bar. As with all the Ramkota properties that we have visited in the last few years, they are in need of updating. All of the decor is circa 1970's earth tones. Rooms are clean and well appointed but dated. As another reviewer noted, this hotel is quite a distance from the I-29 exit so it is not convenient to the highway. Although this is a perfectly acceptable place to stay, there are other hotels in Watertown, SD that are newer, less expensive and more convenient to the Interstate. We were there with a Rally and this was the hotel we were assigned. Would not have been my first choice.

« Trouble at Check In »

Staff was not sensitive to our needs (Ages 65 and 70). Just adding more detail because TA requires 200 characters. Had a bed, a window, a chair, a bathroom; towels, soap, hair care products. Also a rug, a hallway, some walls; a long corridor.

« reasonable place to stay »

In a town this size, this is a large hotel and conference center. I was here for a conference. i stayed here for a similar reason a few years ago. The rooms are small, but the property is clean and well managed. There is a large restaurant and bar. Large conference rooms for meetings and events. it is on the other side of town from the highway, about 4 miles away. if you are passing through the area, it is not that convenient to I-29, but otherwise it is a nice place to stay.

    « Western Visit »

The hotel was convenient for our services. The layout of the hotel was very nice and the corridors made the area pleasant with decorations and seating arrangement. They have a workout area and pool with whirlpool. Unfortunately they change the water in the whirlpool on Monday morning so it was still cool early Monday afternoon when we went to use it. The restaurant was in the same complex and very nice.

    « I attended a conference here »

Super nice place and rooms. Staff is great. Town is a bit funky, not in a good way. Usual fast food food joints but a few mom and pop taverns that serve food on the main drag hwy 212. If you keep going on the main drag in toward downtown that is a more interesting mix of old buildings and new businesses.

    « Old »

Rooms old and small. Double beds The bathroom was so small with a toilet and tub/shower a person could barely turn around in there let alone try to bathe a child. It was dark and needs to be undated badly. Pool was cold and spa was too hot to get in at all. No free breakfast.

    « Needs Updating »

The staff was good but the overall interior appearance and room amenities need to be updated. No microwave or refrigerator in rooms. The toilet seat was loose, had to be careful not to fall off while sitting on it! Evidently they've had alot of people (women) removing their make-up with their washcloths and they're tired of the stains. They supplied make-up remover towelettes in each bathroom with very cheap washcloths to use just for this purpose. The other bath towels were good quality. I understand their idea concept but just found that to be a little comical.

« Never take children to this hotel »

Children and single parents are treated very poorly. Service from the 3-11 shift are totally rude and inconsiderate. They treat people very rudely and even go as far as to yell and pock there finger at you. The would not help us with directions to Aberdeen, food or thing to do in Watertown.

    « very restful & relaxing »

this motel is a very very restful and friendly--unlike the one in billings montana, which the bed was so uncomfortable I checked out,,staff was so so--very disappointing place, best western needs to take their name off of that motel,,DOES NOT deserve the bestwestern name,,false advertising on their part. THIS motel is exactly the opposite I highly recommend this motel.

« Great and pleasant place »

Loved the inside of your amazing hotel. The outside of the hotel is very unassuming. Open the door and you find this beautiful and unusually large and fun hotel. The pool has a frog slide and there are many warm and beautiful places to sit down and relax in a home like place to read.

« Attending A Conference Nice to Have Hotel Attached »

Decent Rooms, could maybe use some freshening up, but clean and good beds. Didn't run into the water problem others spoke of even though both my wife and I took baths or showers during the morning rush and later evening (nine-ish). Great food at the attached restaurant, Minerva's! And having the conference center attached meant not having to leave the grounds the whole weekend!

    « No Hot Water »

Rooms are old and outdated. Heaters are loud and its either too hot or too cold in the rooms. Nothing is more frustrating though than waking up and having no Hot Water to take a shower!! Bar staff do an ok job with service the people at the front desk are awesome!

    « Cold Showers »

This is the 3rd year in a row I've stayed at this hotel for meetings and I've had at least one cold shower each time. Every time I tell someone they simply say "we're working on it." So for 3 years, at least, they've done nothing to fix this problem. Now I realize I generally stay here when they are close to capacity so perhaps they just don't care and appease the guests on days they know they won't have enough hot water.

    « so so »

i dont like a place that cant serve something a little more healthy than 3 day old rolls? seriously!!!! The staff was rude . the only decent staff was the cleaning staff!! They did do a good job but the other staff was rude and were more worried about fooling around on their phones than helping anyone

    « Excellent accommodations »

I found the accommodations were more than expected making my stay quite comfortable. I especially liked the in-house restaurant. The pet-friendly atmosphere helped make my stay with my labradoodle quite appropriate.

    « Great place for a conference »

This facility is one of the best I have been in for a conference. Very nice meeting rooms and easy to get around. the rooms were great nice and clean, the bed was very comfortable. The place was a 10. I believe the Watertown Ramkota Hotel was better than I was expecting when I went but was really surprised.

« Not the greatest but clean »

Hotel needs an update. Not for you if your going for peace and quiet or relaxation. Also do not stay here if you have Pet allergies. Many people have stayed and were staying with pets while there and not in specific rooms. Clean staff amazing and very helpful but event center staff needs to have some customer service training again. Very rude and not very professional at all which they felt like they were.

    « Good Stay »

They were very accommodating to our pheasant hunting group. The staff was great and the hotel was clean and comfortable. We received a complimentary gift bag at check in. The hotel is quiet. It is across town from the major shopping and restaurants, but overall a good place to stay.

« Great place to unwind »

Excellent place to stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel accommodated our conference and made us feel great and provided excellent service to everyone. I would recommend this hotel for both business and pleasure stays.

    « Always consistent »

We have stayed here many times over the years. The rooms are always nice and the restaurant is excellent. This time I was by myself. If you are traveling on I29, this is the best spot between the border and Omaha. We once were "blizzarded" in here for a couple of days--not a bad place to be!!

    « A Great Night at a Great Price »

I enjoyed the stay at your Best Western. It was a good price for a great night's stay. I was on a motorcycle trip with my friends and stopped in your town for the night. I enjoyed the breakfast before I left for the next day of riding.

    « very elligent »

This is a Top Notch Hotel. The people were very helpful and pleasent. The hotel has very nice atmosphere. it is soothing and relaxing. Great way to unwind for a get away weekend. My wife was impessed that I selected such a nice hotel. Points for me!

    « Nice clean hotel »

This hotel has everything you might want for your leisure travel. The hot tub was amazing! The food from the restaurant was awesome. I had a room facing the "atrium", which I did not like because there was no natural light. But overall good experience at this hotel. Would recommend.

    « Wedding Reception »

Good hotel. Reservations were easy to make. The staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. The room was clean and a very comfortable bed. We would choose to stay here again. We really enjoyed our stay.
