    « Pleasant weekend visit »

Arriving at 5pm on the Friday, we were given a warm welcome and a quick check-in. Our room (220) was on the first floor, very peaceful and quiet, situated at the back of the building overlooking fields and woodland. Our room was quite large and comfortable. The bathroom in contrast was very small and quite congested. It contained a bath with fixed head shower. Breakfasts were served in the restaurant and everything was self service. We ate in the restaurant on our first night. The meal was very good, but it was disappointing that only 2 other residents were dining. There was however a halloween party going on in the adjoining function room, which spilled over to the bar area which was quite lively and entertaining ! The same situation on our second night (Saturday), when a Halloween themed wedding party was taking place. Despite this, we were not disturbed overnight and slept well. On checking out on Sunday morning, our billed included food (breakfasts and evening meal), even though we had paid in full online when booking ! This was amended to cover just our bar drinks and wine. However, when checking my account online a few days later, I found that another 85 pounds had been charged to my card ! It took quite a few phone calls to the hotel before this charge was refunded. It transpired that the mistake was down to a miscommunication between themselves and the Best Western online booking service. Despite this, we fond the hotel to be excellently placed for visiting the Wakefield area, and the walk around the lake at Newmillerdam (a short walk from the hotel) is well worth the effort.

« Ideal base for visiting Wakefield. »

The room was quiet, at the rear of the building. It was very clean and had everything for a comfortable stay. A large variety of food available for breakfast. The hotel is situated on a main road and is close to pubs/restaurants. There is a large Asda and Aldi about 5 minutes away.

    « Wedding Day 15/10/16 »

I would like to take the time to thank Mel (wedding Co-ordinator) and all the staff at Hotel St Pierre for making our Wedding an incredible and memorable day.from day one of booking our wedding they was really helpful and took stress away. Everyone was super organised and on the ball and i would highly recommend them to anybody planning a special day like ours. Presentation of the room was better then we could ever imagine and the food was excellent (specially the cheesecake) lol. All our guests also enjoyed the day and commented on how helpful and lovely the staff and hotel is, and the DJ was amazing. Many Thanks Mr & Mrs Smith

    « Nice location »

My husband and I regularly visit Newmillardam as its a lovely little village between Barnsley and Wakefield. The hotel is the only one in the village and room prices reflect that. We pay similar prices in more upmarket hotels. The hotel has a range of different rooms to suit different budgets and holds lots of weddings, staff are generally helpful and friendly especially the reception staff. We tend to stay in suites which vary in size but are always clean and comfortable. Being a hotel guest not a wedding guest can make you feel awkward at times as the bar area isn't overly big and guests spill over - a bit of a nightmare when 2 weddings are being catered for on the same night. Also, this can be a problem at breakfast as some wedding guests stay over and you can feel as though you're intruding further on their special day. To that ends, we don't tend to breakfast in the hotel. Overall the hotel is in the perfect location to visit Newmillardam and makes a restful weekend break to recharge weary batteries.

    « nice little hotel »

i only stayed for a brief time as we were visiting a wedding reception. i will start with the only bad point, the room that the reception was in was too small for the people that were there although we made the best of the bar area and had a good night anyway. we left our car over night and it was still there in the morning which is always a bonus. the food from the buffet was also really good. the beer was the usual price of around £4.00 per pint that you get at hotels these days. the bar staff were a bit slow and as a result we had to wait to get served. and i was assured from other guests that the hotel rooms were also great.

    « Always a lovely stay »

Always find the hotel to be clean and well presented, the staff are always welcoming and friendly. Food and drinks in the hotel are always reasonably priced and tasty. We visit 6+ times a year and have never had a bad experience! We have taken so many of our friends and family here....we just love it Would always recommend this place!!

    « AMAZING »

Where on earth do you start with this place?!! What an amazing hotel, from the quick and easy check in process to the brilliant friendly staff. This was the first time after being together for a year that my partner and I had managed to get away together for the night, I rang in advance after booking online to request for 2 roses to be left on her side of the bed for our arrival and this request was followed up straight away with no fuss! Whilst on the phone the lovely Diane listened to my story of it being the first night we had got to be together and upgraded out room there and then, what a beautiful gesture from a wonderful hotel! Nothing was too much for them, the room and bed were exceptionally clean and comfortable. We will definitely be visiting again! I don't know about 3 star I would give this place more than five stars if I could! From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for a wonderful stay! X

    « Wedding on the 01/10/2016 »

Me and y husband had our wedding here on the 01/10/2016. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. I had originally booked the venue in September 2014 and from there on the staff have been amazing, right up until the date itself. We have had so many comments from our guests with regards to the food and how the day itself went. The food was amazing (especially the mini fish and chips) this was a winner with everyone, the layout of the room was beautiful, then when it was changed for the evening again it was fantastic. The guys that work in the hotel especially Wayne and Mel are out of this world, they made sure everyone was catered for and that everything ran smoothly. (not a thing went wrong), they were extremely attentive, even bringing out buns for us at 2.00 in the morning. Both me and my husband plus all of our guests would highly recommend this place as a venue for any wedding or occasion you have in mind. You cannot fault it. Thank you very much for making our experience the best that we could ever have imagined.

    « Our wedding 24/9/16 »

PERFECT! From start to finish I have never been to a place where staff can't do enough for you and your guests. The whole time the wedding was booked (19 months) mel catered to my every need. I changed my mind on colours and guest numbers more times but she just went along with me. Every single member of staff who worked the 2 days we stayed were amazing, polite and always happy to help. Food was fantastic from breakfast to the wedding meal and then the night buffet was lovely I had more comments from guests, and when the food ran out mel couldn't get some more on fast enough. I have never met such a lovely person who just wants to make your day the best. She even took my suitcase from the room I stayed in the night before the wedding to the room I was staying in on the wedding night while I was partying away. Bed was super comfy too. To finish off my stay here and my wedding was perfect. It was the best. Can't thank the staff enough but to mel and Wayne who work so hard and do that extra bit. Thank you thank you thank you!

« Good base of operations »

The plan: An evening in Newmillerdam, a few drinks, some food, no drive home. Where else would you stay? Best Western upgraded us and it was a decent room. Distinguished from the more basic by the inclusion of bathrobes, bottled water and a single Aero. Firm bed, room very warm, but with everything you would need. Parking is ample and it was a quiet stay, even considering there was a wedding party. Unfortunately I was woken at 01.30 by a telephone call from a guest wanting to know what time check out was, after which I struggled to get back to sleep! I'm not sure if we were close to a door which was repeatedly banged or if the door of all the rooms just close with a bit of a thump. It wasn't excessive, just noticeable. Free wi - fi. Breakfast was an intimate affair with quite a small, comfortable dining area, with friendly service. I would have stayed another night quite happily.

    « Wedding Mat & Sarah »

We had my son's and daughter in laws wedding on the 1st October 2016 Mat & Sarah the whole day was amazing Mel & Wayne were fantastic hard working and went the extra mile to make sure that all was perfect. The wedding breakfast was delicious. This is a perfect venue for your special day. Thankyou to all the staff that worked on the day you were all truly fantastic and we appreciated all your hard work.

    « Good Location »

Stayed at the hotel for one night. Check in was very good and although there were wedding guests in the reception area we were welcomed and everything was explained to us. Car parking is good with spaces at the front of the hotel as well as the rear. The room was good just the bathroom was on the small side but for one night it was fine. Breakfast was buffet style, service wasn't the best and we were left to get on with it with no welcome on entering the room or any explanation what was on offer or where we could sit. Didn't like the fact at the cereals were in open dishes or in those upside-down dispensing units. Personal choice I know but would have liked to see individual sachets or boxes. But overall breakfast was ok. We would stay again as overall the experience was very good.

    « Our wedding 10th September. Lauren & leuk »

OUTSTANDING! Did everything we asked! Good contact through out the full 18 months! I had nothing to sort myself regarding the venue has it all comes in the package! I changed the numbers and package several times and even changed the numbers the night before the wedding has someone dropped out but Mel was amazing and sorted everything! My day was perfect! I stressed and stressed for nothing at all! I would highly recommend! All the staff on duty that day and night was totally amazing! Also the photo booth the hotel use 'photobooth4you' is beyond brilliant aswell! My mum tried to talk is out of having the photo booth yet she was crying with laughter when she was in it!! Can't not thank these guys enough!! Thank you hotel st pierre!

    « Great stay!!! »

This was our first stay at St P. As we have stayed in several of Best Western hotels. Lovely staff on our Saturday afternoon arrival there was a wedding reception in place and we thought oh oh! Will we get good service? Thankfully we were not disappointed! The lovely young girl in reception doubled up as breakfast waitress and was great! Do you let her go home BW??? Room was spotless and had a lovely bedding and towels. We had an attic room with a valour window overlooking fields, and being on the 4th floor we didn't here a sound of the wedding's disco! Lovely chap on reception Monday morning (25/9). Well done to all the team, we had a great stay, thank you.

    « Hotel St Pierre »

We arrived , due to flight delay and useless Hertz car hire , in the early hours of the morning, so understandably were not in the greatest of moods. Fortunately we were met with a smile and a warm welcome and this set the tone for the whole trip. From reception to chamber maid everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and breakfast was plentiful.

    « Hotel St Pierre »

Room for one night was fine, although not easy gaining access up the narrow windy stairs, nosiest shower ever, felt sorry for my neighbor as this was early Be realistic about your expectations, if you want pure luxury then you need to pay for it, this hotel ticks the boxes and more for what you pay Staff very nice and welcoming

We stayed in a suite with a four poster bed absolutely loved it. There was a lovely sitting room and separate bedroom which was a good size the bed was amazing. We looked out over a field it was so peaceful just what we needed. We had a bar meal and breakfast at the hotel the food was really good and the service was excellant the staff couldn't have done enough. If you go out of the hotel there are some lovely walks including Newmillerdam lake been 5 mins away.

    « friends wedding reception »

We attended a wedding reception ,when we arrived we were greeted by smiling friendly staff, given a drink and sat in the pleasant lounge area. When we were shown into the room for the wedding breakfast it was a beautiful room everything looked perfect, the meal was excellent served nicely and was piping hot. later the room was changed to cater for the evening party, which was very nice the staff were attentive and friendly everything was perfect. The bedroom we had was very clean and nicely furnished, the towels and bedding were spotlessly white, plenty of toiletries .The room had everything we needed, Breakfast was very good plenty of choice and well cooked, once again staff were very attentive nothing was too much trouble for them. it was a pleasant stay I would recommend the hotel.

« In need of some TLC BUT nice stay »

We stayed here in late August, we run a business in Leeds but live in Scarborough, we usually stay at Best Western Milford Lodge but it was a busy weekend with the Leeds Fest!! Firstly, the hotel is in a lovely setting being within striking distance of Newmillerdam. The first improvement we would make is to ask that the hotel consider creating an outdoor seating area to the back of the hotel. It would not need to be large but it is such a lovely area (albeit in the car park). The second would be air conditioning in some of the bedrooms (possibly asking an executive price??), it was very warm during our stay. The restaurant serves its purpose but could be so much better. The food and service was great (we had fillet steak) the staff were warm and friendly but for some reason it lacks atmosphere. The reception staff were lovely, very professional and all in all we had a good 3 night stay, for the price we paid it was a great find, good food and in a great location.

« Cousins wedding and wedding package »

We attended my cousins wedding, staying the night before and after the wedding. The reception was held at the hotel and the staff were very obliging, nothing was too much trouble. The reception room was tastefully decorated and the meal was nouveau cuisine, well presented and tasty. Three courses with a three options. The wedding organiser for the hotel ensured both the newly weds and guests were well looked after. The room room was clean and comfortable and an extra Z bed was provided for children. Tea/coffee and biscuits provided and replenished.

    « Wedding day 11/06/16 »

We got married here in June and it was an absolutely amazing day from start to finish! Mel and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, the rooms looked beautiful and all our friends said it was a beautiful day. They all made our day so special, and we are now planning my husbands 40th there next year. My son has behavioural problems and all the staff are fantastic and let him ask his million questions and always make him feel welcome :) A lovely hotel and fab staff

    « Fantastic Conference Facilities »

We booked the St Pierre Hotel at Newmillerdam for our school's Inset day on the 5th September. It was fantastic! From the pre-day information to the experience on the day we could not have been happier. Melanie and her team could not do enough for us. The facilities were excellent, and the refreshments and food were more than enough to keep 70 hungry teachers happy on their first day back after the summer. Thanks again.

    « 40th wedding anniversary party. »

On first entering the hotel we were greeted warmly and soon given the keys to our room. The room was neat and tidy but the bathroom was a little cramped. Also there was no nonslip mat in the bath for both baths and showers which I myself found a little unsettling. The whole place was a little jaded and looked in need of a spruce up. Lighter colours on the walls might help. Lift was small and it was busy so not always available. The room provided for party was large with compact dance area but again could do with a little modernisation. We stayed up quite late talking but the kitchen was happy to provide coffee and teas which was appreciated. Breakfast - Sunday morning was a bit limited. More croissants and rolls plus cold meat and cheese would have been appreciated. Tea and coffee was brought to us which again was appreciated. Altogether quite a pleasant stay. Staff are very pleasant and helpful but the place is in need of a little more loving care and 'modernising'

    3
    « A good basic hotel »

No frills option for a short stay. Lovely staff, decent breakfast and bar meals. Location was good for our needs and parking was right outside the door. Decor and presentation was a little dated and tired but didn't detracted from stay. Only disappointment was one dish was burnt and yet was served - this was quickly remedied with an apology though.

    4
    « Good enough »

Stayed here for one night and rooms are a good size. Old fashioned but very clean. The staff are friendly particularly the lady on reception who was chatty and welcoming. The hotel has a great bar and good service again. The hotel offers pub grub which is OK although possibly a bit pricey for what it is. I would certainly return if in the area again on business.

    « Our wedding day »

We got married here at St pierre on the 28th of August 2016 and we couldn't of asked for a more perfect day. It was so relaxed with help from every one at St pierre and Melanie who couldn't of done enough for us, even putting up with me changing my mind all the time she was very accommodating. The staff were always lovely and very helpful, we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone for any kind of event or even just a short stay. Thank you so much to everyone at St pierre for everything you have done to make our day exactly how I wanted. With credit to st pierre for taking this fantastic photo of me and my new husband!

    « Excellent Customer Service. »

I booked a room for an overnight stay this BH weekend, originally booking through Late Rooms. On contacting Sarah direct at the hotel, she managed to beat the best Late Room price. Sourcing a room for my friend and I after shuffling rooms around to do so and calling me back immediately, cancelling my original booking. I really appreciated her perseverance, help & attention to meet our needs. Thank You Sarah. The customer service has been excellent. The staff we dealt with were brilliant.

    « Nice 1 night stay »

Had the DBB deal which was great value. Our room was at the top so dormer style and we had a sitting room and 2 TVs. Went down for dinner early and the food was very nice and the staff friendly and helpful. Not so good the girl on breakfast duty but the food was adequate, poor tepid coffee. We met friends in the bar and the lovely barman was attentive and friendly. Will return if we get the same value deal

    « Wedding 30 July »

Me and my husband had our wedding here in July and it was just amazing. Melanie was exceptional and even organised on the wedding day with the kitchen to arrange moving the wedding breakfast back 2 hours so we could get all our photos done before the rain was supposed to start. Melanie and the team were so helpful on the day, the rooms were lovely and clean and the food was really nice. Cannot fault them at all, they sorted everything from cake delivery to the photobooth on the evening, it all made for a very stress free day! Lovely hotel in a beautiful location!!

    « 16th July Joint wedding »

First of all I would like to give a big shout out for the lovely wedding organzer Mel. If I was to describe Mel I would say she is like Mary Poppins 'practically perfect in every way' :). She is an absolute superstar and a credit to St Pierre. Having a wedding can be stressful at times and a joint wedding you have twice the amount of stress haha but Mel was a god send she recommended Photographer and Hairdresser/Beautician Gary and Liz who was absolutely amazing and are not just business people but great friends now :). We have to choose 30 photos for a special wedding album and I have no idea how we are going to narrow it down to 30 there is so many beautiful photos from our special day. Mel also recommended Mrs Bouquets florist and the flowers was stunning and simply perfect. Hotel St Pierre did an amazing job in making sure everyone was happy, everyone got the meals they had requested and that everyone had a great day at our wedding. The staff couldnt do enough and the day went so smoothly you all did a brilliant job considering there was so many guests with it being a joint wedding. Thankyou all so much for helping make our day perfect. Highly recommend Hotel St Pierre for any occasion I will even be calling in every so often for a Sunday dinner as I value the staff very much for all the hard work they do. Thanks again Mel and your team Mrs Joanne Salter :) x

    « Midweek overnight stay »

Arrived to find rather nice looking lounge but was asked to pay £50 upfront in case I had anything ordered to my room, this was despite having prepaid for room. Having stayed in a number of best western hotel I have never been asked to do this before the money was immediately taken from account and 2 days later has yet to be returned back which is what I was informed. The hotel itself is a little outdated and could do with modernisation but rooms were exceptionally clean and shower was powerful so can't complain, room was very hot and could have benefited from a fan but it was a very warm day and night, though thankfully very quiet so was able to open window without being kept awake by noise but the housekeeping staff were very noisy the next morning. This is an ok hotel for an overnight stay but does lack compared to others in best western chain.

    4
    « Worth the money »

Stayed here whilst on business ,have to say it was above average ,the staff were very polite and friendly ,the rooms are a bit dated and could do with a small freshen up and modernised a bit but over all no real complaints apart from the temperature was in the 30s and there was no air con or fans (i know that sounds petty) but something they should look into ,i was happy with the size and cleaniness of the room ,tea/coffee making facilities and free wi fi so if i was was to give it a mark out of 10 it would 8 and would have no problems staying here again

    « Family wedding stay »

My family and I stayed here for a family wedding and found it pleasant enough. My aunt and uncle held their wedding and reception here in large rooms with good catering. The rooms were comfortable and ample sized and the whole hotel is in a very natural and nice location at new Miller dam park and walks. All in all a good stay.

    « Special Birthday visit »

We booked 2 nights to visit friends nearby for a special celebration. It was a particularly dismal afternoon and we had a cheery welcome. Room was fine clean and reasonably bright even with the usual poor lighting supposedly used to save the world! We booked dinner as a package and was very pleased good choices and what was impressive freshly cooked. Reasonably priced wines and fair choice. Breakfast again was a good cold buffet but freshly cooked hot choices including freshly made toast rather than those infernal toasting machines ! We enjoyed the stay and would definitely recommend and if we visited the area again would do it all again!

    « Fantastic stay »

Beautiful hotel with character. Lovely spacious room and staff that actually give 100% to the guest. Fantastic vegetarian cooked breakfast and selection on buffet. Would love to stay again. Ladies at breakfast were so friendly. Could have done with some warm toast with breakfast but overall fantastic.

« The moral of the story is .... »

...always have your printed reservation confirmation with you. Chose the hotel because it was where we needed to be and the positive reviews it has had. But really this is an average budget hotel and unlike a Hampton or a Premier you do not get the certainty of room experience. We booked a suite and an executive twin neither of which we were offered on check in. Which brings me back to the moral of the story: I knew I booked a suite so was able to challenge and indeed I eventually got the room offered as a free upgrade (which it wasn't as I was paying the going rate!). My friends fared less well as I couldn't be certain what had been booked. So they were sent to a basic room which turned out to be a double so back to reception to be reallocated to a basic twin with no opening window on the hottest day of the year. We didn't eat in the hotel apart from breakfast which was satisfactory. We used the bar (which seemed to be rationing ice) and which closed early. It advertises as being open until 11.00pm but they were clearing up at 10.10 with shutters down by 10.50. Just makes one feel so welcome. Have I complained - of course - but no timely response. Overall verdict:disappointing.

    « Wedding 13th August 2016 »

My daughter had her wedding here and we stayed for 2 nights. The staff were very helpful and throughout the wedding day the support and organisation from the hotel wedding planner was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and I would recommend the hotel as a great place to stay for a weekend or for your wedding. Although no problem to us some people may find some of the hotel beds a little low so I would recommend mentioning it if this would cause a problem for you so you can have a room with higher beds.

    « VALUE »

Set near the Newmiller Dam country park, the staff at this hotel make you feel at home, the rooms have everything you need and more and are spotless. Bar prices are not OTT the food is excellent, with a couple of good pubs a short walk away, this hotel is well worth a visit

    « Wedding 8th July 2016 »

We held our wedding here in July 2016. From our first visit at one of their wedding fayre's right through to the day following our wedding we had the most fantastic service and attention to detail from Mel Hall, the brilliant wedding co-ordinator. I have to say that the planning and attention to detail made my day stress free. They dealt with all of our "deliveries" of flowers, cakes, balloons etc without any fuss at all. We had a singing waiter which was a surprise to everyone but me and the hotel staff and, to keep the surprise, they gave him a uniform and even a name badge so he looked part of the team. Everyone was very surprised when he started singing!! Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for all of the staff from the night before the wedding when six of us stayed right through to the day after our wedding. The day was fabulous, the food was very very good (which surprised me as there were 70 of us and everyone reccived exactly what they ordered!), the drinks and bar service were good both during our wedding breakfast and our evening reception (150 guests) which also had a fantastic buffet. We had a "room turnaround" after the reception which was seamless and efficient. The rooms were good, albeit somewhat warm, the breakfast on both mornings that we stayed was good quality, with good choice and very good service. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for any event or just a short stay, but I would most definitely recommend this hotel for any wedding. The prices were more than reasonable and the service and standards we received were faultless. A BIG BIG thank you to Mel and all of the staff at Hotel St Pierre x

    « Great hotel »

The hotel was really good. The staff were very helpful when my wife was unwell, they couldn't do enough. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The hotel was quiet at night. Everything you could ask for. I did think the breakfast were a little over priced we paid £40 for 2 adults and 1 infant. Hmmmmm....

When visiting this part of Yorkshire, we always stay at the Hotel St Pierre. Great location, with good local walks and easy motorway access. The rooms are clean and comfortable rooms. We really enjoy the choice of food available in the restaurant, and the bar area is comfortable for a quick snack.. All the members of staff are welcoming, attentive and efficient.

« Would not stay again »

Stayed here on business with some colleagues for 2 weeks. Cannot count the number of times meals were sent out wrong or were cold or undercooked. Can someone please tell the chef how to cook a steak properly. One night took 3 hours for dinner when we were the only people in the restaurant! Hotel rooms like a furnace. Plus one day I came back and my door had not been closed by the cleaners. I complained and was told they would fix my door which was not fixed. Would not stay here again even though my company paid for it!

    « Attended a wedding »

Attended a wedding here recently, could not fault it! Had a super day the service from the staff was excellent especially the attention to detail from Mel Hall. The food was really good both for the wedding breakfast and the evening reception, nothing was too much trouble. Would be glad to recommend this venue for a wedding.

The friendly helpful staff at this hotel make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive at this hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable and I highly recommend the Hotel St. Pierrre having stayed here seven times in the last three months whilst visiting the UK from Australia.

« Lovely Surprise and a great stay »

We booked this hotel for our anniversary after trawling the internet to find somewhere and were a little unsure of the location, Wakefield isn't normally top of the list for a short break. What a pleasant surprise we got, Newmillerdam is a lovely village with great walks, few good pubs with nice ale, lovely italian restaurant and the St Pierre hotel. Good location as well for motorway access. Dealing with Claire at the Best Wester Central Reservations was a joy and she processed the booking professionally and the complimentary card and Prosecco that greeted us on arrival was a lovely touch and very much appreciated. The staff at the St Pierre couldn't have been more helpful and professional especially the girls on reception and duty managers. We were lucky to get good weather and the room was warm at night but it was no trouble for the staff to arrange a fan for the room for us. Nothing was too much trouble and I would definately stay at this hotel again. We stayed for Bed and Breakfast and the executive double room was ideal and breakfast was good. I just wish we'd have tried the restaurant for dinner as the local pubs, although good for a pint, where a let down when it came to food. We didn't try the small italian restaurant because it was fully booked but feedback from local people was good. This hotel is excellent and if you want to arrive and park your car up for the weekend with access to suitable facilities then this is ideal. Well done Best Western for the whole experience and well done to all the staff involved, freindly, fun and professional.

    « Don't Bother. »

Stayed here 22nd 23rd July. What an experience. Rowdy wedding party, couple shouting & fighting in room. Sounded like they were throwing stuff at each other. Rooms are very tired, hotel could do with a good makeover. There was no air conditioning in the room so the room got really uncomfortable. I know the room rate is cheap, but not worth the compromise. It may be. BEST WESTERN. But BEST not to bother. Cannot comment on food as we ate elsewhere. Staff pleasant & friendly.

    « Overnight stay »

Stayed here with my partner for a quick overnight buisiness trip, staff were friendly and helpful on arrival. Bathroom was very unclean which was a disapointment, toothpaste splatters on the tap from previous guests, hair in the bath!! Some sort of brown goo on the curtain, head of shower and the shower control... i cleaned the bathroom myself with baby wipes, also no toilet roll and only one towel between the 2 of us, we did call down to reception who were quick to come up but they only brought the toilet roll no extra towels. A few other things just to point out to others planning on staying at this hotel which is nothing to do with staff as they were helpful but if you are staying at the hotel in the summer ask for fans as the heat was unbelievable and we couldnt sleep,we asked at reception if they had any fans who brough 2 small fans up which helped a little bit but we still struggled to sleep, not the staffs fault obviously but def worth mentioning the heat in the rooms. Also the pillows were like cases stuffed with house bricks but again phone reception and ask for softer pillows as they are more than happy to bring some up.. hotel is in a lovely area but i doubt i would stay here again in the summer for the price i would definatley book somewhere that had air con and a bit cleaner.

    « Too noisy. »

Room was not too bad but we really needed to get to sleep early as we wanted up to be on the road before 8 am. There was a wedding party going on and there was 'thud thud' music and guests being noisy outside till midnight. We hoped for a quiet night from then on but unfortunately guests seemed to gather in bedrooms to carry on with the party. We could hear loud voices and laughing till about 1:30 AM. Other modern hotels seem to have been built with good inter-room sound proofing. I am AFRAID we must advise to avoid this hotel if you need a good night sleep. We didn't have time for breakfast so can't comment on that.

    « Wedding Stay »

Stayed overnight for a wedding. Don't want to comment on wedding because this isn't wedding advisor. What I can advise is that really only stay here for a wedding. Rooms are dated and could do with an update. The breakfast next morning was a buffet type and all I can say was that the only thing was warm was the coffee. Not very good would not stay here again. Only reason we did stay was that it was cheaper than a taxi home.

    « Excellent value »

We stayed at this hotel so we could visit the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the Hepworth Gallery. We arrived early to enable us to get our bearings and knew we were far to early to check in but reception staff were brilliant. The dinning room was closed but they went out of their way to provide us with coffee and biscuits and then provide us with maps of the area and details of how to get to the sculpture park. (A must see if your in this neck of the woods and its only a short drive from this hotel) When we arrived back and checked in, our room was spacious, clean with all the usual amenities, our evening meal was enjoyable, breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Staff were all really friendly and helpful and a big thank you to them all especially Sara for our tea and biscuits. You made two elderly ladies very welcome.

« Short stay with tesco clubcard vouchers »

We had a lovely stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful, Best Western provide many extras to make your stay more comfortable ( we forgot our toothpaste and were able to get some from reception as well as extra tea and coffee and a fan as we stayed during a mini heatwave!) The full English breakfast was very tasty and everything we could have wanted was also available. Would be happy to visit again.

We had our wedding at hotel st Pierre on 9th July. What a fabulous day the food was excellent and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Mel was amazing her attention to detail was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. The day went so quickly would love to do it all again ! The evening reception was great and the evening buffet was lovely. Couldn't have wished for a better day. The room was excellent as well followed by a fabulous breakfast. We would recommend this hotel to everyone. Steve and Janette McClellan.

    « Superhero Wedding 2016! »

I visited the hotel to see about holding my wedding ceremony and reception at the hotel with it being so close to Newmillerdam. I was very happy with what we were shown and the prices blew us away. We decided to hold our wedding here, I had planned most of it but it was awesome knowing I had the stress taken away for the big day and had nothing else to do thanks to Mel and the team. They all helped and gave me more ideas than I could think of. Richard was amazing with our table plan, menus etc. All the staff were so excited about our themed superhero wedding making it extra special for us, with all of them coming up with ideas, planning cocktails for the day superhero themed and dressing up. The team made me feel so at ease, it was an amazing day with no stress from beginning to end. Thankyou all very much !! Planning on staying again around our 1 year anniversary. Would recommend having your wedding here :) banks everyone :)

    « Sunday lunch »

We visited Newmillerdam on route from Manchester to Doncaster, and fancied a walk round the dam and a bite to eat. The public carpark was full, but st pierre had spaces in the carpark so we decided to park up for a drink and loo stop. While sitting in the lovely foyer/lounge having a drink we noticed how friendly and attentive all the staff were at the same time as seeing the Sunday menu. We asked whether it would be possible to leave the car in the carpark, have a walk and return for a meal they said it was fine so that's what we did. We had a 3 course Sunday dinner which was all delicious except for the yorkshire puddings which weren't the same quality as the rest of the food and we're actually chewy. I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for this and the fact that it was too uncomfortably hot in the dining room to enjoy the meal fully. The staff at this hotel/restaurant are its main asset. Unusual to see such service in a chain hotel these days.

    « Wedding Day! »

Had our wedding here, the day was amazing and went without a hitch everything was decorated perfectly and timed amazingly by Mel the wedding coordinator, the meal was perfect and the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and Mel was there to meet our every need, even down to when I got engine oil on my dress Mel and the staff rallied around to try everything the could to get it out. Mel even organised a surprise for our first dance! couldn't be happier with the staff and service and how smoothly the day went.

Myself and my best friend stayed here with a voucher we got off groupon. The hotel itself was basic the rooms were pretty dark and the halls had a hostel style look about them. There was a wedding being held that evening in the function room and upon myself and my friend going to sleep I was woken by two men fighting in the corridor. I attempted to ring reception but no one answered so I approached them myself and told them to take it outside. Limited sleep breakfast was meh wouldn't return. Such a shame as newmillerdam is stunning

    3
    « Not for us »

The room was compact but very clean, fine for a short stay. On both nights we couldn't get near the bar as the whole area had been taken over with wedding receptions. We were kept awake till the early hours of the morning by other guests running up and down the corridor shouting and banging the doors. The doors to the room are very noisy when you close them and it vibratds down the corridor. The food at breakfast was good but the small dining area was crowded and noisy. There were a lot of people smoking blocking themain entrance which wasn't pleasant.

    4
« Only downside the smoke »

Nicely appointed clean room, decent breakfast, effective wifi, plenty of parking, unfortunately the front entrance porch doubles as the smoking area so we had to run the gauntlet as we booked in and fetched our luggage. As we left in the morning a staff member was picking seemingly 100s of fag ends from the gravel a nasty job if there was ever.

    5
« As best as a typical Best Western »

Room was specious, clean and fantastic. The wifi was a little weak but everything else was great! The hotel is not too far from nice picturesque location, and some nice places to eat. The staff was gentle and helpful. Would stay here again!

My Daughters wedding was held here on 28th May 2016. Cannot praise it enough, the wedding co-ordinator Mel and her team were absolutely fantastic throughout. Everything went to plan from start to finish, even though the team had 3 weddings that weekend, we felt as if we were the only wedding that mattered. The wedding breakfast and evening buffet was lovely and the serving staff were very professional, courteous and friendly. The evening celebration was fantastic and all the staff involved from the bar staff to the great DJ worked tirelessly to make sure we had a good time. Thank you Mel and your team for making a special day extra special.

We had our wedding at the hotel yesterday and I can't praise the hotel and staff enough. Everything went perfectly and we couldn't have asked for anything else. Mel, the wedding coordinator is fantastic. She couldn't do enough for us and all her hard work ensured everything ran smoothly all day. All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful, Richard and Wayne and the team made us feel really special and Richard the DJ was brilliant! The food was gorgeous and all our guests said what a fantastic time they had. To top it all off, this was all done with excellent value for money. All these things helped to make this the best day ever. We just want to do it all over again!!! Thanks so much to Mel and Richard and the team. The Jacksons xx

« Ok for the price. »

Stayed here as a friends wedding was near by, we booked a twin room. The receptionists were friendly and informative and the entrance of the hotel looked lovely, however i found our room very dated, a bit of a smell and the beds soo uncomfortable! I don't sleep in amazing comfort at home..i sleep in a double with my husband and 2 children! However even in an alcohol induced sleep i was very uncomfortable on such a hard bed, shame but it was only £50 b&b for a Saturday night! We were rushed in the morning but breakfast looked nice and was stocked up regularly, coffee and toast did the job ??

    « Nice little hotel »

We stayed here overnight as it was close to the restaurant we were eating at. It was great value for money - about £45 for an overnight stay and breakfast. We had a good room which was a decent size and a nice big bed which was very comfy. A little dated in places but not bad at all. One issue was that a wedding was taking place and there were lots of people smoking at the reception doors - the smell of smoke ran through the entire reception and up the stairs as we were walking down to exit.

    « Fantastic location »

Stayed here for a night while visiting friends. Room was very dark and inadequately lit even with the lights on and the dark furnitre/decor doesn't help either. As there is no air conditioner it was a bit too hot during the night. I guess on request reception can provide fan The room and bathroom was impeccably clean. We ate a lunch in the hotel ( 2 sandwiches with cheesy garlic bread on the side). It was absolutely delicious!!! Unfortunately I cannot tell the same about the breakfast. It is laid out in the restaurant what is tiny, without Windows and very crowded with tables. It was very claustrophobic. We came down at 10 am on Sunday and it wasn't a pretty sight. The tables where the food was served looked a mess, and the food wasn't appetising at all. Overlooked fried eggs swimming in oil, cardboard toast and dried out bacon in firm cold fat. For almost £10 it is not acceptable in my opinion. When we got tea served instead of coffee we just laughed really . Once again the location is really nice and probably will return but with breakfast organised somewhere else for sure.

I had my daughters wedding here a week ago, very helpful staff, we were kept fully informed by Mel and her team. The food was beautiful, hot, well presented, I couldn't fault it in any way. Room service was prompt, plenty of choice and served by friendly staff.

« Lovely location and staff »

I attended the hotel for a wedding function and was very impressed with the facilities on offer. The staff were very accommodating and helpful towards myself and my nephew who I looked after for the day. The only thing that I would advise is the DJ needed to balance out his speakers more due to the volume levels and a bit too much low end bass, however this is nothing to do with the hotel at all which was the perfect setting :)

« Great for a long weekend break »

We stayed at this Hotel as part of a break away for our wedding anniversary. It is well placed to visit other parts of Yorkshire or the nearby towns. It is in a beautiful area and although close to a main road, the noise from passing vehicles is minimal. On arrival we were greeted by a smiling Receptionist and booking in was smooth and hassle free. Our room was clean, smelled fresh and there was tea & coffee making bits and pieces. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were soft and fresh. Although our room was not cleaned over the 4 day stay, the bins were emptied and fresh towels were placed in the bathroom. We would definitely consider staying there again.

« Our beautiful wedding venue »

What an absolutely fantastic place we chose for our wedding. We had the most amazing day and this was made even more special by the hard work, dedication and total professionalism of Mel and her team. From the run up to the day until us leaving Mel was so attentive to whatever we needed. We had a couple of slight issues and Mel had them sorted in a flash, there was no way she was going to let my day be spoiled at all. The food provided for our meal was wonderful and the staff serving were so lovely and again such professionals. One of our guests had a problem with their room as once she had checked in she discovered a leak, the staff at reception could not have done more, the hotel was full as it was a busy bank holiday weekend and they had 3 weddings over the 3 days so there were no rooms to swap them to, the Reception staff rang 5 other hotels in Wakefield, which again were all full, in the end they gave a full refund and booked and paid for my friend a taxi home. We could not have asked for more. All in all Mel, Richard and all the staff at Hotel St Pierre are some of the best I have encountered. Would highly recommend xxx

« Awful food and service in restaurant »

Myself and colleagues stayed at the hotel on the 17th to 18th of May, we were very disappointed with the evening meal as one starter was burned and cold like it had just been microwaved. The actual rooms I couldn't fault they were clean and comfy, for the breakfast we were very disappointed as the tables were all dirty and we had to get glasses for juice ourselves as there was none on the table, as for the breakfast staff they were rude and unhelpful I was disappointed with the selection and nothing was being filled back up, we noticed a few other customers were highly disappointed too in the service. Over all the staff at reception were fantastic but as for the restaurant, I would not recommend to anyone.

    « Absolutely Perfect »

My wedding at this hotel surpassed anything I could have ever wished for! My guests stayed for 2 nights as I did with my partner and children. We stayed in room 408 it was beautiful and the room was perfect, it was spotless and lovely and bright, as was the view from the window of the fields which is also beautiful. We also had guests within rooms on the second and first floor and everyone commented on how nice their stay has been. I really cannot express my gratitude towards the staff enough in the hosting of our perfect wedding day, the attention to detail and organisation of the wedding planner Melanie was fabulous, ensuring everything ran smoothly and beautifully. As a location being close to the park it is very picturesque, and peaceful, the wedding menu was gorgeous and everyone was very pleased with the service we received, which was both pleasant and dilligent, nobody was seated with empty plates or glasses as they were promptly removed and refilled. Guests commented on how nice the morning breakfast was downstairs in the form of a buffet, and we took advantage of a lovely breakfast in bed, which was really lovely and well presented, this hotel is amazing and I will be recommending a visit from all of my friends and we will also be returning for our anniversary, thank you so much to all of the team for making our special day the one of my most beautiful memories, which I will never forget, absolutely perfect

Hotel slightly dated but clean and presentable. Plenty of parking. Had steak in the bar and it was very nice. Breakfast also well cooked and spot on. Free wifi everywhere as a guest. Excellent value for money in my opinion. Didnt have time as with work but looks like a nice dam and lake t walk around. Very busy... Located only around 7 min from M1 so also good for travellers and nice and quiet for Leeds. Recommended.

    « Avoid floor 4 »

We found the staff helpful and welcoming, and the meal we had in the bar, for 7 people, was excellent and the staff had gone out of their way to set the table for 7. However on arrival our rooms weren't ready and we were moved to different rooms on floor four. The lift did not go that far!- and we had to climb a number of stairs to reach our room. That would have been fine if I was not disabled! The room was uncomfortably hot as it was up in the roof space and had a velux window that did not open- and the fan provided made far too much noise to leave on for too long. We hoped that it would cool down as the evening wore on, but unfortunately it didn't and with hindsight we should have refused to accept the room but we were staying overnight to attend a funeral and decided as we were only staying one night we'd put up with it! I did mention the problem on leaving and was informed that yes it was warm up there! Too true! I would have no hesitation in booking into the hotel again but I would not accept any rooms on that floor.

    « Good Value & Friendly staff »

Really helpful staff and good value for money. The rooms are a little tired and could do with a refresh and the breakfast/dining room could do with being air conditioned as it can get a little warm. Some noise experienced from guests returning to their rooms after a wedding reception. Recommend a walk around Newmillerdam and a stop at the tea room located in the old boat house (all within 10 mins walk from hotel).

« In urgent need of modernisation! »

The hotel is very dated and really needs bringing into the 21st century. We booked the suite with Spa bath. Was very disappointed with the standard of this room. Our booking, on a Sunday (24th of May), included evening meal and breakfast. Evening meal could be had off the bar menu, or from the a la carte restaurant. Despite speaking to the hotel on 2 occasions prior to arrival, about the evening meal, we weren't advised that the restaurant actually closes at 1530 on a Sunday. The bar menu was better than expected though to be fair, and the bar staff were very helpful and friendly. The cooked breakfast, the next morning, was absolutely dreadful. Thrown on a plate and barely edible. We won't be stopping here again.

    « Good value hotel »

Good value hotel in a small village but with good road links. The hotel looked a bit dated but the rooms were clean and tidy and of a reasonable size with a good size bath and plenty of hot water. Staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful and also good at their jobs.

    « Wedding Reception »

Myself and my husband held our wedding reception at St Pierre after getting married in Las Vegas. Melanie Hall the wedding coordinator was amazing. No job was too big or small for her and she made sure the whole night ran smoothly. The buffet food was lovely and was arranged superbly. The DJ Richard was great as were the bar staff and waitresses. In all, a fantastic evening party, I would highly recommend the hotel

    « A very enjoyable stay »

I stayed at the Hotel St Pierre last Wednesday night as I was on business in Yorkshire. My stay was very enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and my room was very was very clean and spacious . As I was on business I was able to make use of the free WIFI. The breakfast was also excellent! I shall be definitely be using the hotel again when I am in Yorkshire on business.

    « Great little hotel »

We had a one night stay - good sized double room and very quiet. Breakfast very goo. Evening meal had pretensions to be fine dining which it was not, but meal perfectly OK Free WiFi was very good and plenty of electrical sockets in the room for charging devices. Recommended - we would stay here again.

« Renewal of wedding vows »

We renewed our wedding vows on the 9th April 2016 and celebrated our special day here. Melanie went above and beyond for us to make our day perfect, the staff was friendly& polite the food amazing. The whole day perfect we've had nothing but compliments and praise from family and friend who attended. we spent the night in the honeymoon suite with the four poster bed finished off our night. Next morning greeted and had a wonderful cooked breakfast. thank you to all the staff for making our day amazing and one we will remember of quiet some time xx

    « Friendly staff & great breakfast »

Stayed here for leisure a few year's back but stayed for business this time. All the staff are friendly and the bar area is spacious and pleasantly furnished. A craft beer would be a good addition. Breakfast was good quality and well presented. Unfortunately, it finished me off! Would stay here for business or leisure again.

    « Wedding day »

We recently had our wedding a this hotel. We stayed for the total of 3 nights. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. We stayed in the honeymoon suite for two of these nights which had a whirlpool bath and the room was very large. We also had breakfast including which had a great choice and was very tasty. The hotel is lovely, very clean, comfortable and all members of staff were great and very helpful. Our wedding day would not have gone better. Everything went as planned with the help from Melanie and the staff. Even as they were setting up, we were kept informed to check that everything was ok for us. The rooms looked amazing both for the day and night do. The wedding breakfast was beautiful. We both really loved the day and would highly recommend. Every person who attended the wedding said how much they enjoyed it and that it had such a friendly atmosphere. It is a great place to stay and a great place to hold a celebration.

    « Function »

I attended a function last weekend on 2nd April. I found the service to be excellent and more than helpful. The staff were really kind, courteous and more than happy to help. The room was pristine, comfy and relaxing. The food was divine and the presentation of said food was lovely to see. I would definitely stay again at the hotel st Pierre and would recommend it to my family and friends who may be looking for a place to stay or hold an event

« Fantastic time, lovely food with great service! »

I attended a wedding last weekend at Hotel St. Pierre. I found the hotel and food to be of a very high standard, with excellent service from polite and friendly staff. We also now have some beautiful memories to treasure. Thank you everyone at Hotel St. Pierre!

    « Average »

The overall venue was average, having booked this for a family party it was OK. Unfortunately there were a few issues with communications at the beginning but overall it was OK. The rooms were clean but a little dated and unfortunately one of our guest did not have a good experience, with a lot of noise. The staff were polite and helpful and Grace (the duty manager) was very attentive. The breakfast the following day, again was average with a little confusion about the service, and bringing of tea/coffee and toast. Overall, as said it was average, didn't think it had any atmosphere but met the needs of the evening. Not somewhere I would be stopping again.

    « Daughters wedding »

My daughter got married at this hotel on January 16th 2016 and we booked in on the Friday before the wedding. The food decor everything was amazing. Would definitely recommend to everyone. A fabulous weekend x

    « Fantastic wedding venue »

5 ? 19th March 2016 Just had our fantastic wedding here!!! From the very first time we met with Melanie the wedding coordinator to discuss our requirements right through to end of stay as the new Mr & Mrs, we couldn't fault the service or the staff. Melanie was always there for us to help us throughout, leading us up to our big day and throughout making it special for us both. She along with Ben & all the other staff at the hotel were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Our stay started on the afternoon before the big day and they made us feel very special from moment we stepped into the hotel. The whole wedding package was A 5* experience and would definitely recommend having your wedding at this hotel!!!

« Good place to base yourself »

The St Pierre is a typical Best Western hotel, nothing special but well priced and with the basic necessities of life. We stayed for two nights over the weekend and saw the hotel at its busiest due to a wedding and a couple of evening parties on the Saturday evening. On arrival the reception was fine. Very efficient and were pointed towards our room on the top floor. No offer to assist with luggage or take us to the room. There is a lift to all floors. The room was a decent size with a view over the field at the rear of the hotel. We had eaten before arrival so didn't try the restaurant that evening. The toiletries were nothing special. Came in push down dispensers and looked posh but suspect they were fairly cheap. The TV was flat screen on the wall and was adequate. I found the queen size bed a little hard but my wife found it fine. Tea and coffee was provided but was a little sparse and we had to request further sachets which were supplied without fuss. On Saturday morning we had breakfast at the hotel. This was very good and was cooked on demand whilst we ate the usual cereals. The muesli was very sweet and not particularly tasty, as were the cornflakes on the following morning which makes me think these were cheap. The breakfast on Sunday was a much poorer affair. I think this was due to the number of people who were staying in the hotel and this resulted in buffet cooked food rather than fresh and too few serving staff to cope with taking drink and toast orders. As the hotel was busy we didn't stay for evening meal so only used the restaurant for the breakfast meals. We did use the hotel bar and found the prices to be reasonable. Choice of lager is limited and none of my tipples were sold. Also, the service in the bar was very slow on the Saturday lunchtime, not due to demand but due to lack of staff. The St Pierre has a decent car park but it does fill up when there is a do on and it can be difficult to find a parking spot when an event is on. Overall, the hotel is reasonably priced, and offers the basic essentials for a short stay. I wouldn't want to stay longer than a couple of nights.

« One night business stay with African guests »

Excellent hotel, clean all round , friendly & helpful staff + excellent food. Only criticism was the food was very slow arriving & the 'authorisation' system for payment during the stay was not adequately explained to my guests.

« We found all staff very very helpful cheerful a real pleasure to be honest the breakfast was great as was our room »

Cant find any faults at all and coming from me that is a compliment all the staff were so polite so helpful we loved the breakfast the room was perfect. The only problem we had was we only booked for one night cant wait to go back we will be recommending St Pierre to all our friends. Don't know who trains the staff but please keep up the good work don't let it get like a lot of hotels not bothered attitude Well done everyone Jackie Hawley

« I am a regular visitor because the staff couldn't,t be more helpful. »

The hotel is very convenient close to Wakefield, just a short way from the M1 and set in a rural setting on the edge of New Millar dam country park. The rooms are comfortable and very spacious. The hotel is small enough to be personal and the staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble. Both the restaurant and bar offer good food to suit everyone whether you want to be formal or relaxed.

    « Very good quality »

Stayed here for a week on business. Very comfortable hotel and excellent value. Room was very spacious and bed extremely comfortable. Food at hotel was good quality and nice varied selection. The main good point was the staff, they were all extremely friendly and helpful, and really made the stay pleasant, nothing seemed too much of a problem for them. They are all a credit to the hotel. Would defiantly stay here again and recommend this hotel to others. 10/10

« Great Hotel but not central »

I stayed overnight for work, and this was a lovely hotel, and allocated me an upgraded room on arrival. Good lounge menu, or restaurant if wanted. Clean hotel, friendly Reception and waiting staff. Would stay again but note it is further out than described. Lovely country park nearby if weather permits.

    « Superb 70th birthday celebration! »

This was our second "big birthday" celebration at this hotel and yet again the staff made it a memorable occasion. We live in France so I had made all the arrangements by phone and email. Grace and Mel were professional and efficient as always - advised which rooms would be most suitable for our 2 day event. ( I was so impressed that Mel had remembered us from 4 years ago!!) Afternoon tea for 60 on Saturday, complete with DJ Roman, was perfect for our guests aged from 2 to 94. A family Sunday lunch for 20 in a private room was delicious and again was made very special by the attentiveness and professionalism of the staff who had transferred the decorations from the previous day to make this a very special, intimate occasion. We really cannot praise the staff at this hotel too much - bar staff, waiters/waitresses, reception - all are to be highly commended for the service they give. A huge thank you to all concerned. We shall certainly return!

    « Sawbridge Wedding »

Fantastic Hotel, amazing staff! We had our wedding there last saturday ( 27/02/16) it was out of this world! The Wedding Co-ordinator, Mel was fantastic and so professional. She gave great advice, was warm and welcoming (like the other staff) and gave 100%. The Wedding Breakfast was lovely, the whole service was excellent and the evening buffet was great. We stayed overnight in a standard room that I hoped they would upgrade -as we had the Winter package they said it was an extra £99 but in all fairness the room was nice. We went to the Damn for our photos and had one hour to spare afterwards to enjoy before the wedding breakfast. The DJ at evening buffett was a lovely bloke, a right laugh! There is plenty of room to dance and the table decorations were gorgeous. We got married at Royston Church therefore didnt have our ceremony there but both function rooms are lovely. Overall I would recommend the hotel for a wedding.

« Great place for a small wedding! »

A lovely little hotel with a nice array of rooms for a civil ceremony. Good food and service, good bedrooms and cost. All in all a nice, small, clean and tidy little place. Not the height of luxury but nonetheless well worth the price and certainly nothing to complain about.

    4
    « Nice hotel »

Have stayed here many times before, although quite a while ago. Disappointed that evening meal has changed from a 3 course table d'hote menu to an allowance. Food was very good though. Breakfast was lovely but a little disorganised, long wait for food to be replenished. Room very nice, but bed not comfortable.

    5
« Can't praise the hotel highly enough! »

We stayed for a birthday and weren't disappointed. We found staff were excellent, they couldn't do enough for you. The room was lovely, spotless and had everything you'd need. After reading some reviews saying the hotel needed updating we weren't sure what to expect, but we found it to be a classic hotel look, nothing felt dated to us. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Worth paying the little extra to have it delivered to your room too. The hotel has a relaxing ambiance, very quiet considering the busy road it's on. We had a room at the back facing a banking, not a problem for us as we weren't particularly bothered about the view. If we're going to be super picky, there's only English breakfast tea on the tea tray, but that's just my partners personal preference! The coffee was good quality. The two pubs just round the corner were very busy when we called in, but it was Friday evening. Some great real ales to try. All in all we were so happy with our stay that we're planning our next visit already! We had a brilliant experience.

    « Excellent facilities »

This beautiful hotel with ample parking. Great function rooms. Warm and welcoming staff. Close to the country park and the lake with fantastic walks. Best Western are always a good standard. And this is a great example of the chain. I will be back when in the area.

    « Valentine's Meal and Overnight Stay »

We booked the Valentine meal and overnight stay, and was not disappointed. Very nice room, clean, cosy, spacious, and comfy, modern and our room was very quiet as was situated at back of the hotel. All the staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome for the whole of our stay. The evening meal was beautifully cooked and the presentation was lovely. Breakfast was gorgeous. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which made our 25th anniversary of being together a memorable one.

« A good location for exploring South Yorkshire »

The St Pierre is located on the edge of Newmillerdam, close to Wakefield. There are walks nearby in the woods and around the lake from which the name comes. Other attractions nearby include the Barbara Hepworth Gallery and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are well appointed and comfortable.

    « Faultless ! »

Absolutely brilliant . Had our wedding here and it was faultless . Melanie and all the team were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble . The room we used for the main ceremony and then the reception was set out beautifully , the buffet was delicious , and we had loads of amazing comments from our guests who all enjoyed themselves. The room we stayed in overnight was clean , spacious , lovely en-suite , with a roomy four poster bed , fabulous , and the breakfast was delicious . We cannot fault our experience at St. Pierre and would do it all again , no problem. Many thanks to all the staff for making our day and stay such a special experience .

    « Family wedding »

I have not set foot in this place since it was the Bevely Hills Motel, some years back. This time out its the venue for a family wedding, with a civil ceremony performed at the hotel itself. The building is not luxurious and the age of its construction is apparent. Fortunately its an era I'm fond of. Bar area was comfortable, with plenty of seating, parking adequate, even when full of a gaggle of guests.

    « Room 304 »

Stayed here just over night as we got back from the airport late and decided we wanted to go to the Sculpture park the following day! The customer service was great! We arrived at midnight! I felt really bad as the staff were probably waiting for us to arrive! When we arrived they were really welcoming and friendly to us, very helpful also as we had never stayed here before! Plenty of leaflets and info in the rooms about things to do in and around Wakefield! The bed was the comfiest and cosiest bed I have slept in for a while! The whole room was spotlessly clean and plenty of room to move about in! Loved this hotel to pieces! Great for value! I'd definitely stay here again!

« Post Christmas Dinner for 50 Breast of Friends »

Once again we returned to the Hotel and we were not disappointed. The running of the evening was in the very capable hands of Events/Wedding Organiser, Melanie Hall, ably assisted by Ben. They looked after us and the Chef did a great job. We were wonderfully entertained by 'Brin the Crooner' who was very excellent and worth booking again and thanks to all staff concerned - we will be returning again. May thanks.

« Nice, Clean, but could do with an refurbish »

Stayed one night while visiting family, Nice clean room, but a bit old fashioned needs updating in the room and bathroom. I had a room at the back, it was lovely and quiet. The breakfast was very good, the best poached eggs I have ever had in an hotel. The Staff were excellent, polite and very attentive. I would stay here again and hope they have a refurbishing program in place soon. I have to say it was just in the New Year and quiet, I believe it gets busy with weddings so I hope when I visit again I get the same service.

    « Wedding »

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Melanie was our wedding co-ordinator and we cannot thank her enough for the brilliant and professional way she looked after us. Nothing was too much trouble, being on crutches on my wedding day, she made suggestion's along the way to help make it easier for me. She was amazing, she made the whole day run smoothly. We didn't have to do a thing. The food was delicious, the staff great, friendly and happy. Nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend Hotel St Pierre to anyone looking for a wedding venue. Thank you Melanie and the team for making our special day perfect from start to finish and stress free. Les and Deena :-) :-)

« OK hotel but watch out for the pricing »

Booked for one night for my wife and myself so checked the internet for pricing where it quoted £55. However when I called reception at the hotel I was told £78. I pointed out to the receptionist about the internet price and she said she would honour the £55. So a good result but I got the feeling that they were just trying it on. When we checked in I was asked for a credit card to authorise £100, i.e. nearly twice the price of the room. I refused and agreed to pay the £55 upfront. Judging by this experience plus the fact that the toilet paper came out of a dispenser rather than having loose rolls as is norm elsewhere I'm guessing that they are used to catering for a certain clientele! These factors aside the room was clean and quiet with a comfortable bed and reasonable bathroom. We were on the top floor and this could be the reason that the shower was a bit underpowered and you should be aware that the lift only goes to the floor below so you need to be able to walk up a flight of stairs to get to these rooms. Breakfast was good. A reasonable selection of starters and a nice cooked-to-order hot meal. A good sized carpark is also available. I would suggest you ask for a room that overlooks the rear of the hotel (as ours did) if you're a light sleeper because the hotel is on a fairly busy road. We couldn't really use the bar because there was a wedding party in the hotel but there is an excellent pub serving real ales (the Fox and Hounds) only about 300 metres away. Overall I would be happy to stay again if I needed to be in that location.

« Our Wedding, Mr & Mrs Johnson »

Where to begin..... we booked our wedding at Hotel St. Pierre on the recommendation of friends and I'm so glad we did. From the wedding fayres held there, you can see the layout of your tables to finding your dress as I did (Ever After Bridal in Batley, Sally-Anne is amazing!) As the day drew nearer nothing was too much trouble for Mel, we could contact her whenever we wanted to talk through absolutely anything, she always returned your calls or emails. The menu for the wedding breakfast was varied and plentiful, the rooms were brilliant, I stayed over the night before with a couple of friends and there was plenty of room for 3 women and all our bits and bobs. As for our room on the wedding night, I wish we could have stayed longer to appreciate it. They even have quiet rooms available away from the disco if you have little ones staying over. The wedding went without a hitch as Mel over saw everything, the details she recommended worked really well and we couldn't thank her and the whole team enough for making our day so special. Just waiting for our wedding photos to arrive and we'll be back to share them with Mel, who is much more than a wedding co-ordinator at the hotel. Thank you once again xx

« Good value but needs Improving »

A good value room for an overnight stay. The whole place could do with a refit, it is really dated. But the room was clean and quiet, breakfast was reasonable, staff courteous, parking easy and a very nice location.

    « Look elsewhere. »

Overall, not a fun stay. Check in went without a hitch, the bed was ok, once i'd moved myself to find a comfy spot. I ordered room service breakfast the night before, but it never arrived, by the time I realised it wasn't just a bit late, it wasn't coming at all, it was way past your delivery time. The room itself was clean and well presented, apart from the art being hung wonky (but that is me being picky) When I went to take a shower after my non breakfast, I changed my mind on seeing the towel had a big brown streak down it. It looked old and washed, but I decided I would go without a shower after that, as well as without breakfast. The other downside was noise, whoever checked in the elephant above me must have hated me, as the second they started walking across the room, it was incredibly loud, and kept me from sleeping. In addition, being right next to the stair door meant I was woken every time someone came in, or out of the stairwell. There was no iron or ironing board in the room, I have no idea if I could have asked for one from reception, but by that point I was exhausted, hungry and so annoyed I just wanted to get out of there. Extremely unlikely to return, given the amount of hotels around the area my company needs to visit up there, I'm unlikely to recommend anyone else comes to stay either. The only plus point, were the 2 lads that dealt with check in, and out. Both were polite and well turned out.

    « Another Great Stay »

I have spent 3 nights at this hotel and I have found it to be a credit to the Best Western chain. I cannot thank the team here enough for looking after me on my 3 night stay. Nothing has been too much trouble and I was very surprised and very thankful for the upgrade most unexpected. Breakfast was excellent and the bed is so comfortable I have problems getting out of it as it is that good. Cleanliness is exceptional but I would have expected nothing less at a Best Western Hotel. Thank You Best Western and THANK YOU to Best Western St Pierre

    « New Year's Eve »

We booked for the gala dinner here. Not sure what we were expecting but it started with afternoon tea which was varied with plenty of finger sandwiches, platters of meat, savoury pastries, salads etc then a great range of cakes and desserts with the largest bowl of whipped cream I have ever seen which went with the scones and jam. No restriction on quantity. Also plenty of tea and coffee with the bar open if anyone wanted an alcoholic drink. The food for dinner was absolutely fantastic which, when there were 165 guests is absolutely amazing. We had a fantastic night (into the early hours) and then had a late (11am) breakfast the following morning which also had a very good range of well cooked food. Other guests were very friendly and chatty, many had been going year after year and we will certainly be going back. The staff here are fantastic, the service that they give is excellent and they can never do enough for you. Even though I live a few miles from here I would definitely contemplate staying here for a little weekend treat...

Stayed in the hotel over 2 days when my sister got married. The rooms were really good size and the facilities really good. The staff were exceptional and the customer service they gave couldn't be faulted. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was good and the choice at breakfast was great. Overall very happy with everything, no complaints at all. Would highly recommend to anyone.

« Mr and Mrs Gant wedding! »

Absolutely amazing visit the staff were fantastic, Brad who was there to greet me on reception on arrival was so friendly and polite and willing to help with everything asked of him. Adrian was great very friendly and so helpful, and Melanie the wedding coordinator I couldn't possibly say enough about her she was amazing made our day run so smooth took so much stress off of us, a very amazing and talented lady. The food was very delicious. Only down side was our toast with the wedding speeches, for the price we paid for everyone to have a toast the drink was non drinkable and I don't think it was what we was told we was getting. I would highly recommend for other couples to be married here and also just as a general hotel stay can't wait to go back again!!!

on arrival we weren't happy with the £100 they had to take from my debit card and it could take 10 days to go back to my account, explained to us just in case we did a runner.......,. however on checkout the receptionist did say it was just held and wasn't taken, so i think some training is required for the check in staff !!!!!! breakfast was very busy and we couldn't get a table to had to sit with a wedding party..... i asked for tea & toast but clearly the waitress had forgot our order so we had to ask again but by that time had eaten our breakfast.

    « 'Christmas Do' undone »

This review is for a Christmas evening works do. I didn't stay overnight so cannot comment on the hotel or its amenities. I had traditional Christmas fare. Uninspiring and bland. Squishy overcooked sprouts. Undercooked carrots and grey parsnips, Not sure what they did with the carrots and parsnips but they were cut into batons and, for parsnips especially, it did not work. At least the turkey was moist. Pudding tasted quite nice but was stodgy. Service was efficient to the point of being brusque. Dessert dishes were swept away while some were still eating. I felt as though we were on a kind of conveyor belt. I would not go again for this kind of occasion.

Stayed for two nights, attending family event, nice location, room very basic, but bathroom nice, tele could only be watched from the bed, you couldn't see it from the side, staff extremely nice, but waited ages for barman to appear at 8 pm ish, though he was apologetic, breakfast ok, not the choice it said on the menu, and breakfast ordered specifically without beans came with beans!!!!! What did they do with it in the kitchen??

Wedding of the year thanks to Mel the wedding Coordinator! Couldn't compliment her enough, she is genuinely a lovely person. She was so patient and didn't rush any part of the service/reception. Constantly on the ball with everything and had everything planned down to the letter. Thank you Mel and the team for a lovely day.

I got married at St Pierre on Halloween. In all the lead up to the wedding the co-ordinator, Mel was amazing! Nothing was too much and she was always happy to help with anything, offering suggestions that she thought would work with our theme and our personalities. On the day all the staff were great, all really friendly and happy to help. We had some decorations for Halloween and they all very kindly decorated the room for us! I cant say enough good things about Mel and the hotel in general! Anyone looking for a venue should definately consider St Pierre. In addition there is Newmiller Damn around the corner which is perfect for the pics! Thank you to Mel and the team for making our special day perfect and stress free.

    « Wedding time - just great. »

My Step Daughter got married there on Halloween. It was just a great day from start to finish. The location is clean and just perfect for a wedding. Melanie, the wedding co-ordinator worked tirelessly not just on the evening but throughout the whole journey. Thanks Mel. The staff were friendly and so overtly intent on making sure that the special day was just that for the happy couple. The food at the wedding was great as was breakfast and the food on the evening. One area we were particularly impressed with was the evening show. The entertainment was just simply amazing. They were called Zeta and Lee, two men simply born to entertain no matter what your taste is - along with two ladies, singing and taking photographs of the audience who were all on their feet dancing. Thanks Zeta and Lee for hosting one of our happiest days ever your show is just sensational and made our day complete. Great venue and highly recommended - particularly if you get the entertainment that we saw. Thanks again to Mel and all the staff for their hard work.

My best friends wedding on Halloween was by far outstanding because of the personable and caring staff. Melanie the wedding co-ordinator went to great lengths to ensure everything went perfectly. I have never known such a friendly and caring staff team, everyone was so accommodating. Thank you for an amazing experience.

    « Wedding Day - September 4th 2015 »

Me and my wife had an amazing wedding day back in September 2015. We had a church wedding but hired St.Pierre for our wedding breakfast and evening reception. All of the staff were amazing and very helpful, most of all Melanie. Our guests had nothing but good things to say about our wedding day and the venue. The food during the day and evening was really good, especially the evening buffet. The honeymoon suite was spacious, clean and very comfortable and the breakfast was really nice the morning after. We had lots of family stay over at the hotel who also praised the rooms and the breakfast. Overall, we would definitely recommend Best Western St.Pierre hotel to anyone who is planning their big day and I am certain you wont be disappointed.

Hotel St Pierre was our 1st choice for our Wedding venue. The venue room looked amazing, all the staff gave 100% to each and every guest. Melanie really does go the extra mile to ensure everything is just perfect. Our day and evening was fantastic thanks to all the staff at the Hotel. The food was to die for and received lots of lovely comments from guests. The rooms were immaculate and promptly serviced. I can't recommend this Hotel enough, we had the best time and could have stayed longer. If you are considering your Wedding here.... Don't hesitate. It will be perfect.

I only stayed the one night recently but would have happily stayed longer. The bedroom was clean and comfortable with a nice firm bed. The staff were really lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel was in a perfect position for me and easy to find. I think this could be the shortest review I have done and I would give five stars if the restaurant had a bit more atmosphere. The meal I had in the restaurant was excellent but the dining area itself just felt a bit austere and cold. The bar meals looked good and the bar was a nice place to waste an hour or two. Highly recommended

I'm a regular at this hotel staying approx 3 nights a week. this is my choice and I choose it over more local accommodation as have never had a bad experience here. Well done to all the staff that work there especially Adrian, Grace (birthday girl), Ben, Irene and Fran (glad to see you back)!

« Wedding at St Pierre Hotel »

The room was lovely and the hotel location was perfect for our guests who were coming from the south to our Wedding. The wedding was perfect for us in every way the hotel staff went out of their way to make sure everything went according to plan. The photos we had taken at the Newmillardam were lovely. Perfect landscape for our photographer who likes his sky shots. I would like to take the opportunity to thank the staff one being Melanie who was lovely and made sure as our wedding planner everything went to plan and what we asked for we got. The hotel staff were amazing the both the evening before after our unfortunate accident and our late arrival at the hotel . They were helpful and accommodating in every-way putting z beds in rooms to accommodate our boys. Thank you and we would like to also say an amazing reception room and the tables were beautiful in the colours we asked for. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

What a fantastic venue. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Melanie is amazing - just listen to her and follow her advice. Richard as master of ceremony kept everyone on time and was the consummate professional Food was excellent and as someone who has coeliac they dealt with my needs. All the guests commented on the service by all of the staff, they layout of the venue and table decorations. the best feedback is that if I was to do it all again I wouldn't change a thing that they did. Thank you so much Melanie and Richard and all of the staff.

    « One night stay »

No complaints at all about this hotel, had a very comfortable one night stay. The room was nice with a comfy bed, TV and nice bathroom with a good shower. The food was very nice if a little on the pricey side. Wi-Fi throughout with download speeds better than most households. All of the staff were very pleasant and attentive. Would strongly recommend to anyone.

« Perfect location and warm attention to detail »

Recently, we were blessed with four nights at this hotel. The location was perfect for us visiting family in the local area, and for taking walks in the beautiful countryside around. Despite the sad nature of our visit, the staff at St Pierre made us feel welcome and took care of our every need. The breakfast was a delight and the food ordered on room service was fresh and plentiful. Recommend this hotel without hesitation and hope that we are able to pay another visit when next in Yorkshire.

Room was comfortable. Food good. Easy to find. Friendly staff. The parking was reasonable. My only gripe is that we were in a ground floor room and there was a wedding on at the hotel and there was a lot of noise.

My wife and had our wedding day at this hotel. From the initial arrangement to and including our special day, everything was organised exactly as we planned. Melanie Hall, our wedding coordinator was absolutely fantastic. The rest of the staff were also brilliant and this just added to our wonderful experience to make our day one we will never forget. The venue is brilliant and the backdrop of the dam and nature reserve made for some fantastic photographs. I would highly recommend this venue if you are choosing to have a wedding hotel based. The value for money is exceptional. The whole team at the hotel are very professional and will always go the extra mile to ensure every detail is just as you require. Ben, one of the Duty Managers worked like a Trojan when we were doing our table and room plan and had so much patience with us as we had a very complicated arrangement. The wedding menu was delicious. All our guests commented on how nice the food was on the day and the evening. Thank you so much to you all at St Pierre for making our day unforgettable. John and Jean

    « Wedding ?? »

We had our wedding here on the 7th August 2015 and it was fantastic! The menu was brilliant, each guest was allowed to pick their own meal prior to the wedding reception which even some of the much more expensive hotels don't offer! It was excellent value for money and Mel (the wedding coordinator) worked so hard to make sure our day went smoothly and that everything was part. The room was decorated beautifully and all of our guests commented on how delicious the food was. Mel is one of the friendliest people I have ever encountered in a hotel and will do her best to make your day perfect. We had a fantastic day and an excellent nights sleep and breakfast the next day! Thankyou so much to all the staff at St Pierre Hotel. Alex and Jim

« Our wedding the 26th of sept »

Like most couples on the planning of our wedding we wanted to watch what we spent and get value for money, and that just happened! We planned our wedding and unfortunately my husband was involved in a car accident which effected our income, Mel our wedding organiser did everything she could for the costs to be cut and us still to have a great day, all the staff were so accommodating from the minute we opened the doors, our room was very hot but we just opened the windows in the Hall way, been at the top of the building you expect some heat, I think it could do with a little updating, but the room where we got married was just perfect, the staff did everything possible to help us out and make sure our day was magical, I'd like to thank Mel for her organising and making our wedding run smooth, and tammy on reception who was so helpful and friendly, I would definitely recommend hotel St Pierre for a wedding anytime :) Thankyou xxx

Stayed in room 302 - quite noisy as outside main doors for access to rest of rooms. Lots of overhead noise too. Room very hot - difficult to adjust temperature and turn heating off at night so woke with awful sore throat and stuffy nose even with window open. Room clean but chewing gum down the side of bedside table and found bracelet on floor so not very observant cleaner. Bed fairly comfortable. Generally rooms need updating - tired furniture and wardrobes - bathroom nice, clean but only one set of towels for two people - found extra ones on top of wardrobe - why??? Tea and coffee refreshed daily but only one packet of biscuits - little things but there were two people staying! Staff very accommodating and friendly. Receptionist on first night seemed to not be coping very well and it was not busy - did not recognise us the following day and asked if we were booking in when we were leaving - lots of different staff on the main desk. Great breakfast, good choice with menu the first morning. Buffet style second morning - told only do set buffet (full English) so not a lot of choice if non meat eaters on hot food. Had full menu previous morning so knew smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were a choice - the waitress asked and request accommodated but a bit of a cheat really - was busy on the Sunday morning so could be reason - pastries other than croissant come in selophane wrappers and were squashed - smoked salmon tasted of the fridge and not freshly opened. Would have been very disappointed as for the price the choice was limited. Bar snacks reasonably priced and good amount. The dining room needs up dating - very 1970's vibe going on with old tired chairs and tables. Generally an ok stay for what we needed it for but quite basic really for the money. Would think twice about using Great Western Hotel group again.

« An Excellent Overnight Stay »

I was working at nearby Normanton that would need a full day of 8 hours but will a 4 hour drive each way I decided to spread the work over two days requiring and overnight stay. Having stay at a Best Western Hotel many times in past without a problem I looked for the nearest Best Western which was the Hotel St Pierre and was not disappointed. The hotel had everything I needed for an overnight stay with a restaurant and meals served in the bar. I had dinner in the bar which was excellent promptly served and very reasonable. Breakfast is taken in the restaurant which had a wide choice and had sometime for everybody and again very reasonably priced. The room was well furnished with free WiFi and very quiet.

    « A Very Comfortable Stay! »

Set in a beautiful area, with Newmillerdam so close by, and only three miles from Wakefield and in the pretty village of Chapelthorpe, this has all the ingredients of a very comfortable lodging! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we were impressed by both the comfort and facilities of the room we'd booked. The restaurant area has a pleasant intimacy, also. Hotel St.Pierre has a very attractive appearance, and plenty of parking. Thoroughly recommended!

    « Personal first impressions »

After vowing that I would never stay in a Best Western again, having had a bad experience with them in the past, I was very pleasantly surprised in deed with Hotel St Pierre! First of all, I have to thank the staff who showed great customer service, from the lady in charge of serving food in the restaurant to the ladies on the front desk. We ended the Saturday evening by demanding cake and they were most gracious. Having travelled there alone, I had dinner by myself on the first evening, but the lady who took my order is really lovely and I soon began to feel relaxed and looked after. I spoke to her again just before departing and she confirmed my impression that the hotel is run with a strong family ethos. The whole event for me, was memorable and very enjoyable. I would be happy to stay there again. Thanks to the excellent customer service shown to myself, the staff have changed my opinion of Best Western Hotels and reminded me that you need to keep an open mind. A valuable lesson to learn. Thank you everyone at the Hotel St Pierre. Keep up the good work!

Stayed here when we was going to a wedding locally. The staff were very pleasant and helpful! The room was a good size and had everything we needed (apart from a fridge) the room was clean and tidy with no cause for complaint. On out return we needed our key from reception as we didn't want to loose it when we were out as we came back to the desk there was a sign say ' helping another guest' at this time there was to young lads who worked there but were doing the bar at the wedding but as it wasn't busy at 12:05am and there was two they left us stood there for 10 minutes until my partner went over so I just think it was rude and bad mannered not very good customer service it took him 3 seconds to do so not like we wanted a lot! Anyway came to the room finally and out heating on and got in bed which is extremely comfy and not those stupid twin beds a proper double! The room went very warm and lovely!! I would definitely return

    « Rob and Kerrys's Wedding 27th September 2015 »

Thank you to Mel and her staff for orchestrating an amazing day for us despite all the stress we were under she took over, listened and made the day exactly has we had requested which was laid back and fuss free The only negative comment was how long it took to put the dance floor down, it was 45 minutes behind schedule. However once down it was used immensely by our Grandson Maison who was the highlight of the night on that floor!

    « Attended a wedding »

The rooms for the wedding were beautiful. The food was fine but putting the dance floor down took ages. I just wanted to sit down and enjoy it but we used the same room for the wedding, the meal and then the disco so there were long gaps of returning to the bar area. They certainly needed to quicken things up but all in all it was a lovely wedding

    « 22 Ladies enjoy Afternoon Tea »

Having used St Pierre for parties of 55/60 for Sunday Lunch Christmas celebrations for the past 10 years (and are presently in the process of organising the next) and last year the 20th anniversary of the Breast of Friends, Wakefield, 22 ladies from the Wakefield Breast of Friends had a fun afternoon over Afternoon Tea. As usual Mel's attention to detail was second to none, we had a private room with no extra cost, the teapots were never empty, and the cake stands soon emptied of their scrummy contents. We stopped to chat well after the food had disappeared and were not hurried away, they were quite happy for us to stay. We will return to do this again and would recommend other Groups to do the same and best of all, the cost was very reasonable and good value for money. Thanks St Pierre once again. Bridget Sykes.
