    « EXCELLENT HOTEL »

« Nice staff, good air consitioning »

It was hot. Seriously hot. We were planning on camping but...well, it was hot and the closest campground wanted $800MXN. So we ended up here. Rooms were very nice with smart tvs that could play movies from our iPad on the big screen. I was told I had to use the vallet service but when the driver came and saw my old VW Bus he was happy to let me park alone. Veracruz sort of stinks in the heat. We had a view of the city, not the ocean, and a fair at the time. It was pretty. We left first thing in the morning. Though I'd paid for a room for five, there were only two beds, and only two breakfasts included. Pricey for Mexico.

« Nice rooms, good view, and rooftop pool »

The room are very nice, most of them with a good view over Veracruz and the sea. Pool and hot tub on the rooftop are very nice when good weather. Breakfast is not included in the price, but you can have a good breakfast buffet for a reasonable price!

« They steal from their employees...... »

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! HORRIBLE!!! I was horrified when I found out management in this hotel does keep the tips left on credit cards for their employees. I was at the hotel bar one night writing a review of this hotel while enjoying a beer. I was the only one there but I decided to seat at the bar in front of the TV. The bar tender and team where very nice and I decided to leave a good tip after paying using a credit card. After paying and gathering my items to leave, I noticed the bar tender and two other servers looking at my receipt and over heard them saying "they tips better with credit cards", and I asked what the issue was?. Another server mentioned, 'we dont get tips left on credit cards' and 'if we complain, we will get written up or fired', 'it happen to one of last week, when a server asked a patron to it is best to leave tip in cash." This hotel not only steals from their employees but they stole from me. I wanted to take my tip back cause it is not going into the pockets of the people that earned it. This is not a common practice in the region. So this hotel, gets a ZERO from me because management is corrupt and steals money from patrons and employees. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! HORRIBLE

« Enjoyed the stay, just a couple of observations »

In order to become excellent, the hotel needs to improve in the doors that connect rooms, they are not sound proof and you can hear the TV or conversations from the adjourning room. we had to change our first room, for there was just too much noise coming into the room. The front desk was attended by trainees during the two days we were there, so the process was a little slower than required. Restaurant was acceptable, the food was good, but not excellent. The service was excellent. The Valet parking attendee was one of the most helpful persons in the hotel, great attitude and service.

« Beautiful hotel except for glass doors in bathroom »

We arrived on the day of its opening and it was really nice to be at a brand new hotel, however because of that some things weren't completely ready. The room was very big and even though it's far from the beach it had a nice view. It was clean and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. The terrible part was the glass doors in the bathroom and shower. I joined my husband on a business trip and when opening the door of the room you could see straight into the toilet and shower. Since his boss was staying across the hall I was terrified they would arrive together and when opening the door I'd be in the shower. Terrible idea. Even uncomfortable to go to the restroom with your partner there can't imagine if you have to share a room with someone else. It's not a deal breaker but still pretty uncomfortable. There are a few restaurants within walking distance including the famous Parroquia and a couple of grocery stores and the Costco but getting anywhere else especially downtown or the beach without a car is impossible. The pool seemed nice but was still full of workers when I was there and the gym is minuscule. Overall I liked how new, modern, and spotless it was but would return only if it's for business or I have a car.

    « It got better »

I was studying Spanish in Puebla for two weeks and needed a mini-break over the weekend. Veracruz is a very comfortable three hour bus ride away. This hotel is brand new, which is both good and bad. The good is that it is super modern and very comfortable. The room was large, clean and had a great view of the Caribbean (although the hotel is several miles inland). I also loved the rooftop pool and jacuzzi. The staff try really hard to please. A staff member came over while I was in the jacuzzi to make sure it was a good temperature. Unfortunately when I checked in they initially gave me the key to a room that was already occupied. Oops. Clearly there is still a bit of a learning curve for the staff. They get an A for effort.
